I want to go no contact with my parents but I’m on their health insurance plan and not eligible for my works until January and can’t sign up until November 2025. I have been slowly trying to get untangled from them in every way I can so that I am prepared when I am no longer dependent on them for access to my psych and ADHD meds. I am living with my boyfriend/his mom and fully independent besides health insurance and their family phone plan and I’m trying to see if I can get on my boyfriends plan with his mom so that I have one less thing that they can hold over my head. I realized that my birth certificate and social security card were still at their house two months ago, so I came over to their house to make sure that I got them and any stuff that’s left over that I would want. My Dad was whining and acting all sad about me taking my documents with me, and tried to guilt me into not taking them but I didn’t back down. He kept insisting that I was going to lose them, and I told him “I’m an adult and I live on my own so I should have my documents with me because they’re MINE”. I put them in the kitchen table while I was visiting and he went over to my documents and started taking pictures of them. I told him to stop but he didn’t care and made sure to get angles and everything. He claimed it was “in case I lose them”, as if I’m clueless and going to misplace my fucking birth certificate and social security card instead of keeping them in a safe place. Why do y’all think he felt the need to take pictures of my documents??? It was literally so weird, I am 21 and those are MY documents. I don’t want him to have a picture of my social security number??? He has money so I don’t think he’s trying to steal my identity but honestly who knows at this point. Does anyone know why he might have taken pictures of my documents? It literally makes no sense. This is such a small thing compared to all of the bullshit he has pulled and continues to pull but it came into my mind and I wanted to get other opinions on it lol.

hi, im pretty new to the whole reddit scene and felt like i didnt have much to post about, but man, i need to talk about this situation im in. any and all advice is welcomed and greatly appreciated. this is not a request for money!
im currently 32 weeks pregnant (was not planned.) just over a month ago, my boyfriend and i were homeless, like sleeping on benches kinda homeless. im 19 and he is 21. he comes from pretty broken home, and i was kicked out when i told my mom about my pregnancy. being thrown out into the real world so young has really not worked out so well for either of us, but recently things were starting to look up. i was able to make amends with my family to move back in & he was able to secure a construction job by sleeping nearby so he was able to walk to the site. on his first paycheck he bought a cash car to sleep in and get him to safer areas at night time. here and there he would let me use the car to doordash for some extra money. all was well for about 2 weeks until we hit a pothole that blew out one of our tires, and when we took it in to have it replaced, we also had to pay to fix the alignment and a leak in the coolant tank. $800 gone just like that. we actually had to get some assistance in paying for that from a couple friends because we didn’t have the full amount that was sprung on us. that was 2 DAYS AGO. so, here we are today, enjoying having the car back running “smoothly” until randomly, no more than 20 minutes after he picks me up, the car starts literally vibrating and jolting while we are driving. he calls up a friend who is supposedly pretty good with cars, and uses a code reader to tell us we need a new battery. we are dead broke after getting this car out of the shop, so after a while we eventually called up our church to see if this was something they could help with, and they actually did. we had to catch a ride there with a friend, but they gave us a brand new battery. we get it hooked up in the car, and nothing changed. so he uses the code reader again, now its saying the spark plugs are misfiring. thankfully our friends were willing to help us out with another $40 on those, and he got to changing them. on the 3rd plug, when he pulled it out, it was covered in black oil. we dried it up, put the new one in, and just by leaving the car idling for a couple minutes, it pooled up again. the car is not safe to drive and we have no means of income without it considering that he is stranded about 30 miles from his job. he is having to sleep in the autozone parking lot tonight. thankfully, yet AGAIN, i got help from my friend to get me an uber home because i have an OB appointment tomorrow, which i also will have to pay back the copay for at some point lol. so now we are a few hundred in debt to our friends with no means of income and it was all for nothing. we literally wasted everyones day away and now im literally drowning in stress because it will more than likely need to be towed. and even if it can be worked on at autozone we are completely out of options to continue trying to fix it. we spent EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS that we did not have only for this to happen 2 days later.
i guess thats it, lol. once again i would like to reiterate that this is not a post to ask for financial assistance, but this car is our lifeline and we have put every dollar we can into it. are there any other things we can do at this point? neither of us have credit so we cant take out a loan through the bank. this is the first car either of us have ever owned. if its useful info, the car is a 2015 nissan altima.

It was a nice sunny summer day and I was bored as my fiancé was at work. He would be home in a few hours so I decided to visit a busy local park and walk the trails and I often did to pass the time. At the time I was around 18 or 19. In retrospect, I should have never been walking at the park alone but I had done it so many times and nothing bad had ever happened before. I know right? So naive, or maybe just plain stupid. Anyway, I arrived at the park and I started my walk along the trail. I was walking for a few minutes and was about to enter an area of the trail that went through a bit of woods. As I approached the trees, I heard some leaves rustling and saw some small birds pecking at the ground. I kept walking for a few minutes, getting deeper into the wooded area and heard the leaves rustling again. I look over into the trees, expecting to see another bird or maybe a squirrel. When I looked over, I didn’t see a squirrel or a bird or anything of the sort. What I saw, I could not comprehend. I saw a shadow, not see through like a ghost and not laid out on the ground like an actual shadow. This shadow figure was pitch black and stood upright. It had the shape of a taller man but no face. No eyes, no mouth, no nose, no ears, nothing. Just a shadow of the outline of a mans body. It was like my brain couldn’t process what it was seeing. I grabbed my pepper spray hoping this was just a human and my mind was only playing tricks on me and I could possibly defend myself from whoever this creep was. However, I quickly realized the sun shining right through the trees. I surely would’ve been able to see some features, clothes, eyes, hair, something. Nope, nothing. I was frozen looking at this thing, realizing that it could definitely not be human. I started slowly walking forward and as soon as I picked my leg up, its as if I was looking in a mirror only it wasn’t my reflection. It moved with me at the same exact moment. I thought I was going crazy and turned slowly to walk the other way, curious, keeping my eyes locked on it. It did the same, without any hesitation. Halfway pooping my pants, halfway still curious, I turned around again and started walking the other way, faster this time. Sure enough, it did the same. I turned to face it, it did the same. I stopped, frozen in fear just staring at it. It stopped as well, staring right back. There we were. My shadow person and I, just staring at each other for what felt like an hour. In reality it was just a few seconds. What happened next made me feel like I was in a freaking horror movie. It lifted its hand and very slowly waved at me. I felt the biggest wave of fear rush over me. Curiosity wasn’t gonna kill this cat. I booked it back in the direction I came from. I felt like I was running a million miles a minute. My heart was in my toes and I kept looking back as I was running to make sure it wasn’t following me. I just kept going until I reached the busy basketball courts. I sat there for a while until I calmed down enough to drive home. I got home safely and have never seen that thing again. It was the only thing I could think about for months after. I tried to research what it could’ve been but to no avail. The closest thing I could find was Hatman and that wasn’t it. Only after, did I think about the fact that the park I was at is a memorial park of a Blue Angels captain who had passed away in an aviation accident nearby. It makes me wonder if maybe that was him, waving at me from beyond this realm. After all, the captain was a tall man with the same kind of build as that shadow. But the question is why?! I don’t know and I don’t believe I ever will know but I am okay with that. But what I do know is that I will never go walking trails alone again, no matter how busy or “safe” the area may be.

I’m getting tired of feeling trapped in my house and feeling like I have no identity outside of this home and with my family. I want to have real fun and experience the joys that your 20s provide but I feel stifled at home. I can’t leave when I want to bc of having one car, there is never a time to unwind alone bc someone is always there whether it be my sibling or my parents. I’ve grown steadily frustrated over time and just want a space to call my own. I have the whole summer to make changes and I just wanna know where to start and what moves I should make now if I wanna secure a place to rent in the future. What should I prepare for? How much money should I save up? I just need all the advice I can. I’ve come to a point where I am just so over being hindered to just be on my own.

Hello all. I struggle very deeply about losing my pets. I always have it in the back of my mind however i am able to manage it pretty well. Everything was going fine up until last night when one of the washing machines in my apartment laundry room started smoking and lit on fire. Luckily my partner and i were both home and able to safely remove our pets and ourselves. There was little damage and we were able to go back in about 45 min later.
Fire and fire alarms/ carbon monoxide are huge huge triggers for me to the point where we have cameras in our home that i check whenever I’m gone to make sure nothing is going off. Another note to add the laundry room fire alarm was going off for about 10 minutes before my partner and i went to investigate and ended up calling 911. This makes me even more nervous because if we weren’t home things could’ve escalated a lot worse considering no one else even bothered to see what was going on.
Now I’m terrified to leave my apartment in fear of not being able to save my pets if soemthing happens. Even now everytime i look at them i start panicking because there’s some things you just can’t control.
I just need something to help me calm down and feel ease because right now i feel completely drained and lost.

So my husband got this co-worker, which is fine, she's a older middle aged woman. It started with asking for a ride home because her knee was bad , that was fine, then it was to follow her home 2 minutes down the road to make sure got home safe , also fine, whatever. They have a work group chat and she's been progressively DMing him, asking if he's going to be in work.... alright , whatever again. I went in to finally see her face to face and she just kept making constant jokes and what not but when it came to me it seemed really odd, like a 1000 yard stare and quiet, just mostly chatting with him. I felt uneasy about the interaction and came back later cause I forgot something, so I made more conversation and she started talking, so that was better. But I noticed this morning he told me she texted him again after asking to just ask him things via work group chat, but it wasn't normal. It was "I see you" followed with a phone call before that, he was confused and asked "?" 15 minutes later, she said that she was behind him by the gas station watching him, and he apologized saying he was focused, she said "I seen that too, and you only got to work 2 minutes late" now this would be just fun and games if she didn't work at 1pm and he started at 8:30am and she would have to go out of her way to follow him to where they work together to see when he clock's in? Is this all me overthinking? Is this considered normal? I'm starting to feel bothered by it and she also joked about "I'll murder you" ? I am very offput right now.. need advice. I don't even rem ember the joke before the murder part , my memory is so blurred cause it caught me off guard to hear it.
Edit: I also want to add she's admitted to beating her guy friend up with a actual weapon because he "annoyed her" my husband finds nothing wrong with this because the guy she beat up "instigated it" and "has a crush on her" which upset me for him to say cause it was battery either way... which I find a massive red flag for this lady. She is an alcoholic as well, often drunk when not on the clock according to what he's been told by her openly, too.

Since day one, Jenna (28F, the sister of my boyfriend) has not liked me (18F). We rarely interact, but when we have, I believe it's been pleasant. Jenna and Mike (22M, my boyfriend) have gotten into many arguments where she's listed some random reason she doesn't like me. Reasons such as I haven't said hello to her in passing, I've been rude in conversations, I am a sl^t and dress like one, and her most recent issue has been that I am abusing Mike. Jenna believes I am abusing Mike because of a few bruises on his arm (we enjoy rougher sex). When Jenna first confronted Mike about this, he let her know why he has the bruises but she doesn't believe him and has continued to bring this allegation up. Also important to the story, Jenna is an out of control alcoholic.
About a week ago, I was sleeping over at my boyfriends house and he went into the main house (still lives at home, his room is in a cabin outside) to shower. It was late at night so I fell asleep. When my boyfriend was done showering, Jenna went into the house severely drunk and was trying to talk to him, it escalated and they started arguing. She started going on about the abuse allegation and how she doesn't want me at their house. Jenna eventfully found out that I was in my boyfriends room, to which she stormed down the stairs, ripped open the door and started screaming at me. I woke up and screamed, I was so confused I couldn't even recognise who was talking to me. I couldn't process any of what she was saying until the end of her rant where she said something along the lines of, "I don't care that your 18, I will beat your fucking ass." And then she left to her bedroom (also in a cabin outside). When my boyfriend saw her leaving his room, he was horrified and came running to me. I was shell-shocked.
Two days ago, Mike invited me over and cooked us a beautiful pasta, it was such a romantic at home dinner date. Beforehand, Mike had texted Jenna letting her know what the plans were. Jenna had been drinking with a friend in her room for majority of the day. It had been a few hours and we were just about to start packing up when Jenna slam knocked on the door (door was locked) screaming something horrible. I ran into the guest bedroom and shut the door to avoid any interaction with her. I'm not exactly sure what happened as I couldn't hear much but she came up to use the bathroom and started drunkenly slurring on about how sweet Mike was for the dinner date. Jenna then asked where I was to apologise to me for the previous event, Mike said now's not the time and got her to leave, when she exited, Mike locked the door and Jenna lost her shit. She kicked the door so hard the doggy door and handle broke, the two of them then got into a heated yelling match. Mike lost his patience and grabbed a plastic liquor bottle Jenna was holding and tried to throw it away from her. During this, some split on her face. Mike apologised and tried to wipe it off her face, in response she hit him in the nose, hard enough for his nose piercing to bleed. At some point later in the argument she also pulled his hair.
While all this was going on, I had turned off the light and pushed the bed against the door in hopes that if Jenna tried to come in, it would slow her down. My whole body was shaking and I was terrified for me and my partner. At some point it had gone on for too long and I called the cops, about five minutes later my boyfriend came in and talked to them for me.
Police do not actively patrol in my town (small town) so it was gonna be awhile before they showed up. Roughly two hours later, me and Mike were able to leave and stayed the night at my house.
Safe to say I'm not going there for a very long time. I'm pretty fucked up about this... Previously I had a nightmare regarding the first event and woke up screaming.. Nightmares are relatively common for me but not waking up screaming. I don't really have anyone I can share this with so thought I'd post to reddit.
TLDR; Boyfriends sister is an out of control alcoholic that hates my guts, made a threat to harm me, then a week later harmed her own brother.

I have been fortunate in life and am working on my estate plan to leave inheritances to my loved ones.
I have a 6 year old son and girlfriend for 7 years living in PI. I spend 4 months a year with them. Have purchased a home/cafarmland there in the girlfriends name. The girlfriend is also good with money. So far my girlfriend has no desire to reside in the US and I am not sure about my son when he gets older. Son already has US citizenship, US passport, and US social security number. I also have two older daughters in the US.
I plan on leaving 50+ million PHP to my son. Would like to leave some money to my fiance also.
My questions are about how best to do this?
For my son my initial thoughts are I can create a trust fund in the US since he has US citizenship. Then I can find a US based fiduciary to act as trustee for the trust. But I am looking for other possible solutions if anyone has left an inheritance to a PI child?
For the girlfriend since I don't expect her to come to the US I was thinking I could get her a US TIN number and from my research I can leave up to ~$164k US (around 9 million PHP) to her as a tax free gift. I really am trying to avoid getting married to her it complicates things and I don't see the value in it since it would not change our relationship
I know this is a good problem to have. And I intend on consulting with a US and PI lawyer. Also my US daughters will be well taken care of also.

Benjamin smiled, watching the girls skip ahead of him. Today was a testing day of sorts for him. Unwilling to release firearms into this world haphazardly, yet unwilling to go without them as a backup; he had pulled from one of his sister’s favorite video games. He had “melted down” his bowie knife, repurposing the metal to be used in his latest creation. The final product rode on his hip like a short sword, but Ben was satisfied in the design when the vast majority of the people he passed ignored it as just another adventurer’s blade. Benjamin hoped, that with the existence of Majik, that he would be able to pass off any… peculiarities... as the realm of the supernatural.

The three of them arrived at the tailor’s establishment, and the girls were met with a customary indifference that seemed to present itself when a slave’s “master” was present. The moment Benjamin entered, the seamstress ceased to pay attention to the girls, and instead addressed him directly, “Ah, The Forgemaster’s Protégé. What can I do for you this day.” She said cooly, bowing slightly in welcome. “I’m here commission some clothing for these two, a reward for good service.” Benjamin began. It was technically true; the success of the forge had afforded him much more coin than a mere apprentice could have made. Qort had taken him on as a true partner, and Benjamin earned enough to comfortably afford to cloth his “slaves” in whatever he chose.

Some stigma’s remained however, and the seamstress seemed to glare sideways at the girls as they perused the fabrics adorning the walls. “Is that wise? A slave could lose her place with such gifts.” she asked, her polite tone barely hiding her disapproval. Benjamin sighed internally, ‘oh for fucks sake’ he groaned in his own mind before putting on facad, “I find that proper reward, afforded on the right servant can result in” he paused, projecting a smug expression and blatantly looking the girls up and down. “a profound dedication to their duties” he finished with a satisfied smile as the seamstress covered her mouth with a hand to hide a smile of her own. The gambit worked, and the Seamstress was obviously satisfied that the “Aereesen slave whores” were being properly “used”. “Ah, I understand. What did you have in mind for them.” She practically moaned back at Benjamin. ‘This hag needs a good pounding….’ Benjamin’s inner monologue threatened to crack his facade, “That’s the fun part, my good lady. It’s their choice. The surprise is half the excitement.” He chuckled.

The seamstress openly smiled at him this time before nodding and stepping over to the two girls. Benjamin breathed a sigh of relief as she seemed to treat them at least marginally more warmly. The old racist bag didn’t need to know that Benjamin was secretly building a small nest egg for his girls, or that his sending them out to do errands for him was how he was teaching them about money, value, and the application of Mathematics. She also didn’t need to know that the full Cutlery set that she had purchased last week had been made by Vi’s own hand as her first full solo commission set. Benjamin had stamped his “mark” on them, because slaves were not allowed to own anything, including their own work; but Vi had begun with raw steel and finished with one of the finest cooking knife sets he had seen in this world or his.

Benjamin settled onto a bench outside, using the excuse of wanting to enjoy the morning air to afford his girls some privacy. Now that Viola and Valtrya were eating a healthy diet, and the right calorie amount; they had blossomed into absolute bombshells. Their hair had recovered, and both sported long flowing locks that boasted a silky satin black color and texture that betrayed hints of deep royal purple. The color reminded Benjamin of one of those expensive custom car paints that changed color depending on the lighting.

Their skin recovered almost as quickly as their hair. The sickly, scabbed look was quickly replaced with the same satin quality as their hair to the touch, but with a light grey coloring that almost seemed to tease the edge of hinting at a greyish purple. A dense pattern of Small freckles of the same dark, almost royal, purple as the highlights in their hair frolicked on both girl’s cheeks, and down the sides of their necks. Because of their early lack of understanding on modestly, Ben knew that those freckles traveled much further. The sad truth was that Benjamin understood fully why Aereesen’s were the prize of slavers and brothels, and he silently prayed that he could give them enough self-worth and skill to have a better life than that, once he got them out of the Principality.

A door’s soft creaking broke Benjamin from his thoughts as the two sisters stepped out smiling, “Get everything you need?” he asked standing as the three of them departed the establishment. Val nodded vigorously, and Vi smiled as she spoke, “I think so, but I had to practically beg the woman to stop showing us lingerie… what did you tell her?” Benjamin felt his cheeks heat as he responded, “What I had to. The old hag doesn’t get enough at home. It’s not my fault that your ‘enthusiasm’ is in the forge and your studies, not between the sheets. I didn’t lie to her, I just let her draw her own conclusions, sorry.”

Vi’s eyes twinkled for a second, “Oh,” She smirked, “Thaaat’s why she broke out the silk. Some of her options were..” She blatantly bit her lip at Benjamin. “You didn’t…” He asked in shock, and Vi lifted up on her tippy toes to brush her lips against his ear, “Not telling” she purred, setting Bens senses on fire. She backed up a step, openly smirking at his beet red face. “But your expression is adorable… My Lord” She stated the last two words with a deep sultry tone, knowing that Ben couldn’t scold her in public before taking his hand, “May we visit the bazar next? Val saw some jewelry she wanted to look at.” Benjamin gave her a pointed look, that turned into a smile as she beamed at him, “Ok, sounds good. I need to pick up some food for the week.”

It was later that afternoon when the three of them left the bazar. They found Jukha waiting on the bench in front of their home. “Jukha! How are you!” Benjamin called, clasping the Orc’s hand firmly as the girls rushed inside to put up their purchases. Jukha reciprocated, if somewhat stiffly, to the strange to him gesture. “Benjamin, it is good to see you well.” His tone stopped Ben in his tracks, “What is it. Is your wife, ok?”
Jukha shook his head, “Vilora is well, but I have been tasked with finding you.” He said carefully, “The slaver, the one you dueled for those two,” he nodded to Vi and Val as they stepped back out of the building, “The Heir of The Romoregin house is here. He has lodged an official demand for satisfaction, and he brought a champion.”

Benjamin stiffened, “Another duel? You said an ‘official demand’… what happens if I refuse.” Jukha winced at Ben’s tone, “It is an archaic practice of my people, rarely remembered, and even more rarely demanded. You cannot deny a satisfaction claim, but should you prevail, no further claims can be made upon your person. I am sorry Benjamin, but if you flee or refuse, your life is forfeit; and your property goes to the claimant.” Jukha looked pointedly at Viola and Valtrya. “The young puke has put me in danger as well, if I do not deliver you and them to the duel, I can be detained. If they torture me….” Benjamin’s eyes widened before hardening in understanding. “Jukha…” He turned to find Viola standing next to him, with his musket in one arm and his ammunition bag in the other, and sighed, “Fuck”. He loaded his musket with a single roundball cartridge this time, unwilling to fire buck and ball in the town streets. He pealed the ball out of the paper wading after pouring the poweder, reaching into his haversack to retrieve a small round patch made of pillow ticking. Jukha looked on in mild fascination as Benjamin spit on the cloth patch before wrapping the ball in it and ramming the whole thing down the barrel. It wasn’t much, but it reduce windage, ensuring at least reasonable enough accuracy from the smoothbore to keep from hitting innocent bystanders. It would also virtually eliminate blow-by, upping the chamber pressure and giving him a little more velocity. “I’m ready.”

The four of them entered the small city square to be met with Qort and three Org guards. These soldiers wore different insignia that Benjamin had been taught were the mark of the capital. “Beenjaymen Shayfe” one of them butchered his name, “I am.” Ben nodded firmly, the other guard nodded, “And your two slaves, good. Has Jukha informed you of the proceedings.” Benjamin scowled, “A legalized way to attempt a revenge killing? Yea, I’ve been told.” Ben didn’t bother to hide his vitriol, “So I have to kill a motherfucker for defending myself from his father?”

“Not quite. The Heir has brought a champion. The rules are simple, all forms of combat are allowed” The first guard began as the second one began chaining the wrists of Viola and Valtrya. Benjamin began to move before thinking, only to be held back by Jukha, “Peace albino. They must do this. Fighting them will cause a forfeit.” Benjamin looked at the terrified faces of the two girls. He forced himself to calm down outwardly, but Benjamin could feel the rage building. He had worked so hard to save those two, to get them out.. now some snot nosed brat was going to try to kill him because his father didn’t know when to fuck off. Benjamin stepped out from around the guards. The “heir” was a young Durr. Ben had no frame of reference for age, but the Heir was substantially shorter, and his facial tentacles were almost mere buds. Beside him stood a crimson colossus, the same species as the Hunter he had shot saving Jukha. He was taller than that female, and was wearing plate armor, gilded in silver. He hefted a great sword of some kind and smiled openly at Benjamin. It was not a pleasant expression. “Ah, so You’re the puke I’ll be cleaning from my blade. I am Krastorin. Come here, pale one, I’ll make it quick.”

Benjamin looked him over, subtly shifting into a shooting stance but keeping his musket looking like he was resting the butt of a spear on the ground. “You look accomplished, what makes you do the bidding of the boy.” He asked, blatant scorn on his tone. The Young Durr flinched, his small tentacle buds writhing violently. “H’Dare Yee!” he bellowed, voice cracking with the strain of fury, “Aye’ll ‘ave Yee Head on Me’Wall!!”
Benjamin ignored him, focusing on the Hellirine. The man looked back at the boy with a raised eyebrow, “The young puke promised me one of those.” He pointed at Vi and Val, who had reverted to their former trembling submissive postures that Ben had met them in. “It appears that they are as well kept as claimed. I look forward to sampling them.” He leered. Benjamin looked over at the Young Durr and found his face a mixture of relief and anger. ‘Ah, lied about daddy’s slaves.’ He turned to the soldier standing next to him, “Is the duel on?” he growled.

“Combatants! Begin!” was the Soldiers response, and the crimson mercenary lifted his sword from his shoulders advancing forward with a long confident stride, “at last, let’s get this over wi..” a clap of thunder echo’d through the Feral wood, and most of the crowd cried out in surprise as Benjamin disappeared, seemingly behind a bubble of fire, and brimstone. The single round ball ignored the mercenary’s plate armor. Punching straight through as the soft lead mushroomed out into a ragged disk that measured almost an inch and a half. The mangled projectile, still travelling at almost half the speed of sound, eviscerated the chest cavity of the Mercenary before blowing a one foot wide hole out of the crimson man’s back. The exit wound missed Krastorin’s spine by an inch, but it didn’t matter. The projectile embedded itself into a post, thankfully missing any bystanders by mere inches in some cases. The Young Durr, who was standing just behind and to the side of his champion, was screaming as he pawed at the bits of pale yellow blood, bones, and fragments of internal organs now covering him from head to toe.

Benjamin handed the smoking musket to Jukha, drawing his short sword and walking over to a sputtering, choking, and coughing Krastorin. The Hellirine lay face down on the ground, having fallen that way from the momentum of his initial advance. The back of Benjamins mind was sickly amused as he remembered the old Hollywood trope of bullets throwing people backward, and a pinch of regret sparked in his soul as his opponent death rattled. He stepped up to the Heir, resting the blade against his neck, “Are we done here. Be a better man than your father and learn when to save your own life.” The Young Durr froze, staring up at him in abject terror for several moments as a puddle formed at his feet. Benjamin opened his mouth to speak again when the boy simply passed out, falling into the puddle of his own mess as his mind refused to stay conscious.

Benjamin turned to walk back towards Jukha and the girls. “Unchain them.” Benjamin’s tone could have frozen a raging forge’s inferno. To his surprise, two of the soldiers drew their weapons on him, “You need to come with us. All Touched must be registered with...” Benjamin pointed his short sword at the one talking… and pulled the trigger. The percussion revolver built into the hilt of the short sword was zero’d using a notch Benjamin cut into the crossguard, and the tip of the curved blade as a crude set of open sights. The barrel of the revolver lay along one side of the blade, and was rifled. The speaking soldier orc’s took the smaller pistol round through the forehead, exploding the back of his skull in a cone of dark green and grey mist. The exit wound showered his companion in bits of bone and brains. Benjamin’s thumb found the hammer, and four satisfying clicks echo’d in the stunned silence, “HEAR ME!” He growled, “I, am touched by the Gods. I posses the power to end any life I choose using the power of Hell itself!” ‘if I have to show them a gun, might as well throw them off the trail’ “The violence of the raging volcano obeys my very fingertips.” His revolvesword bucked a second time as another soldier orc made a move to rush him. The smaller pistol round still punched through the orcs armor and out the back, but only left him screaming on the ground. Benjamin re-cocked, and leveled his weapon at the orc holding the chains to Val and Vi. “Now, release them.” This last remaining Orc did as asked, before gathering up his screaming companion as the girls rushed to Benjamin, he pulled them close, whispering, “I’m sorry we wont be able to pick up your dresses.”

The three of them packed up that night. Qort had understood, knowing all too well what the Principality would do to acquire a Touched of Benjamins ability. “Stay safe my friend. I pray our paths cross again.” Jukha snuck them out of the village that night, using his wagon to get them to his home. They stayed a week, laying low while they planned their next move. The girls spent their time learning recipes from Jukha’s wife, and ben took the time to unwind a bit. Jukha and He went on a hunt, and Benjamin was given a run down on the flora and fauna of the Feral wood. The two of them brought back a pair of Stags, and the three women cooked them a feast.

“Dinner’s ready!!” called Viola, setting the last of the sides on the table as the dutch oven roasted meat was brought off of the stove top. It was a simple yet elegant meal. Stag, potatoes, some kind of Kale style vegetable that Benjamin had never seen before. Soon enough, everyone at the table was leaning back, as full as they could make themselves. “So, pinkskin,” Jukha asked, “Where do you plan on going. I wouldn’t mind you staying with me. I could use another hunter, but I suspect that they would notice the extra product I brought to the village.”

Benjamin Hummed, “The Maridian Combine. Qort told me that they banned slavery over a century ago, the girls have learned so much already. It would be easy to find jobs for them.” Vi and Val drooped slightly but hid it well. Jukha noticed it but said nothing. “A good choice, their boarders are well guarded, you would need to free them before you cross, or end up in a dungeon yourself.”

“Good point, I can write up a simple writ of freedom. Something I can sign and give to them.” Benjamin nodded, “I can get started on that to…” he paused as a hand fell on his. He looked to see Viola staring at him, fighting back tears, “Hey, what’s wrong. You will be free…” Jukha nodded slowly and stood. “love,” he said to Vilora, “I need some help with the livestock” The Farie met his eyes in unspoken understanding, fluttering out the front door with Jukha.

“Vi, what’s wrong.” Benjamin asked gently.

“No… go… Val… stay…” Both of them turned to Valtrya in shock. She was trembling, “I wont..leave.”

“You speak?” Benjamin looked in shock, but Viola spoke next, “Benjamin, we don’t want to leave. We want to stay, with you. I…” She paused. Ben sighed, “I want you to stay too.” He said, finally admitting it to himself, “But I can’t own you. It’s killing me that you are my property.” He reached up and wiped a tear from Vi’s eyes, “You are so much more than property. I feel evil, every day that I wake up knowing that I could do anything I wanted to you, or worse, die and have someone else hurt you for the fun of it.” Benjamin bowed his head. Viola reached out, lifting his chin to look into his eyes, “Then come with us.” She whispered as Val stood up and stepped around the table, “yes.. You, come.” She wrapped herself around Ben from the side leaning in until she was resting her head against his shoulder, “I’m… staying.. with you.” she said softly. Viola nodded, “Benjamin, how old do you think we are.”

Ben looked at her in confusion, “I have no idea, I’ve always assumed you were teenagers. 13-14 years old for Val, maybe 16 for you, but that was when you were skin and bones.” He admitted.

Viola’s eyes widened in understanding. “You did not want to bed us because you thought us children.” Benjamin nodded slowly, answering. “And forcing sex on a child is the worst kind of crime on my world”. Viola and Valtrya looked at each other, before Vi spoke. “Ben, my sister will turn one hundred and three in a fortnight. I just had my one hundred and fifteenth birthday last week.” She leaned in, pressing her lips to Bens as she kissed him passionately for a moment. “We are no children,” Viola paused as Valtrya leaned in, kissing Ben lightly on the neck, “You are not forcing us to do anything, but leave.” Viola whispered as she began to close in to a surprised Benjamin for another kiss.

The door to the cabin flew open violently, and the girls pulled back to a more modest distance. Jukha walked in, carrying a panting Vilora. “What happened.” Ben asked hurriedly, hoping he wasn’t blushing as hard as the heat on his cheeks suggested. Vilora waved a hand as Jukha set her down in her chair, “The Vin… My sisters… they reached out… They wish to meet…” The Farie gathered herself, “They also sent a warning. We must leave, tonight… hunters.”

I’m going to try to explain the best way I can. Yesterday I got suspended after my shift and put under investigation. To sum it up, my facility has a pick up spot up in front before the parking lot begins. I tried to tell my driver to go there but for whatever reason he came directly in front of the building which apparently is a big deal because security went up to him and started banging on his door telling him to move. All of this happened while I was walking up to get in the car. The driver gets mad and hops out and starts going off on the security lady for touching his car. I get in the car anyways and ask him to just leave, I’ve been at work all day and just want to go home. I went back to work early to apologize to the security lady even though I didn’t do anything wrong in my opinion. When I tried to enter the building, my badge was deactivated and the same security lady said I had to talk to HR. I tried to apologize to her and she literally said fuck my apology and that she didn’t need it. 20 minutes later, HR finally comes. Long story short, HR was completely useless and they said I’m on paid suspension and have to wait for an email on the investigation. Now my thing is, how is that even fair? They didnt even let me explain myself and when I tried to tell them she spoke to the driver and not me, they told me it’s not up to them and they have nothing to do with it. I’ve never even been written up at the job in the 6 months I’ve been here and I’m at a complete loss for words right now. Most people who go under investigation at my site, never come back and are almost always terminated. Can I fight this? And if so what steps should I take?

I'm so god damn paranoid. I thought someone broke into my house because the door was LOCKED. I don't remember locking it this morning(the key lock, I remember locking the fingerprint lock), so when the door didn't open after unlocking the fingerprint lock? Someone broke in. Never mind my dog, who happily welcomed me home, I went straight to the kitchen that's right next to the front door and grabbed a knife. Then, I searched all the rooms. There aren't a lot of places to hide, but there are hidden knives anywhere. For protection, obviously. I didn't stop until I checked all the rooms, closets and beds.
You have to understand how crazy this is. In my head, someone got past the fingerprint lock, went inside, locked two out of three locks on my door, got past my dog(protective pitbull) then hid.
Usually people think someone broke in because the door was UNLOCKED or the door was OPEN.
Nope, not this special coat wearer.
I'm absolutely sure that if I don't have cptsd, I definitely have ptsd. Only took 2 weeks with my therapist (that is now going on for 3 years) for her to point out that I'm heavily paranoid and hypervigilant, let alone pessimistic.
Look at my clothing for example.
Black drawstring parachute pants, double knotted at the waist so it's impossible to move past the top of hip. Combat boots. Long sleeve shirt with a cuff and scrunchie on either wrist to prevent it from moving to my elbow. A thigh long winter red coat with both buttons and zipper so it's not only hard to remove, it's also easy to be seen, and hides everything. It also has four pockets which I can hold an ID and phone for if I die in public(I don't want to be a Jane doe). A beanie so if someone tries to grab my hair, it'll come off first and give me time to escape. Same goes for my back pack. Always one arm in so if someone yanks it, it goes down without you. When going out in public with friends, I wear black lipstick so it can be hard to wipe off and leave evidence. Let nails grow out a bit so it's easier to scratch.
Every single choice has a reason to it. It's almost June and I'm wearing a winter coat because I feel safe in it. I have 12 pairs of the same pants because it not only makes it hard for a stranger to remove, but lessens anxiety in the mornings if I already know what I'm going to wear. It's easier to kick people while in combat boots. I keep my back against walls or away from people so I can keep everyone in my line of sight. There is a hiking whistle attaches to my backpack disguised as a bag buckl, it can be extremely loud for emergencies.
I have three locks on my door. Deadbolt, key and finger print. There is also a camera at the door as well. Apparently my muscle memory is better than my actual memory since I locked two this morning without realizing it.
I'm paranoid and scared all the time.
Atleast today I made myself laugh.

I rescued my chihuahua miniature pinscher 8 years ago, and he’s probably about 9 years old. He has always been difficult with others, and likely experienced some kind of abuse and trauma before we rescued him. He’s not good with others for the most part, even worse with dogs, and extremely reactive. But has always been amazing with my wife and mostly good with me, but she’s definitely his person.
His more severe seizures started a year ago, and he’s now heavily medicated and the seizures are under control but his behavior is getting worse and he’s on even more of a hair wire trigger now then he’s ever been. He’s now barking at cars just driving by, goes red any time he sees another dog now, won’t let anyone near my wife or daughter, etc.
We had a baby 2 years ago, that combined with the pandemic and losing his interest in dog parks, and him becoming crazy protective of my wife during her pregnancy and now the seizures and the meds he just isn’t doing as well as he used to be.
He absolutely loves and adores my daughter, and she loves and adores him, they literally do everything together but it’s completely worn him out. They play together all day every day. He rarely gets to nap anymore, he gets kept up by her at night (she’s teething again), and the less sleep he gets the worse he behaves and the worse his health gets. He used to sleep 12-16 hours a day like most dogs his age, and he maybe sleeps 8-12 hours a day now and it’s mostly interrupted and broken up.
In the past 3 days he’s lunged and nipped my daughter in the face scratching her twice now. They’re significant enough that it’s leaving marks taking days to heal. I’m at a loss because it’s complicated.
Now the first time, my wife was sitting on the couch eating a steak for dinner and our dog was fixed on that meat for seriously 30 minutes. He wouldn’t take his eyes off it. She was sitting between him and the meat on a tv tray - he was 2.5ft from the steak at eye level to him the entire time. I always tell my wife to put her food away if she’s done eating but she’s the slowest eater I’ve ever met, and her and my daughter graze for what feels like hours.
My wife was not paying attention to him at all, and was playing with my daughter and kept swinging her up on her legs onto her lap while sitting constantly putting my daughter’s face directly between the steak and our dog.
I told my wife, “That doesn’t look safe, and I don’t think that’s a very good idea.”
She immediately scolded me and said, “It’s fine, I do this all the time…” and before she could finish her sentence she flung my daughter into our dogs face putting her face inches from his directly between him and the steak he was staring down for the past 30 minutes and he lunged without warning and nipped her on the cheek. He honestly looked just as surprised as everyone else that he actually came in contact with her, and it did not seem that he had any intent to scratch her or even really make any contact with her.
I do not know why my wife was not aware of the situation unfolding, even as I tried to bring it to her attention she only had eyes for my daughter and just ignored the fact the dog was there and she was antagonizing him with our baby and the steak without realizing it.
He over reacted to the situation and had already endured 30 minutes of eyeing that steak and at least several minutes of having a 2 year old flung over and over again in his face when all he wanted was a bite of her food.
I watched the whole thing go down, and honestly I’d say it was at least 50% my wife’s fault, if not more. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t want my dog nipping my kid ever. Especially not on the face. But my daughters face and my 14lbs dogs face shouldn’t be anywhere near each other in this situation. The responsibility to protect both of them was on my wife, and I but I was unable to convince my wife in time of her lack of awareness of what she was doing.
Now today, my wife was going to take a nap with my daughter and our dog - one of the few times he actually gets some sleep. None of us slept well last night. Everyone was grumpy all day including our dog. Anyhow the dog jumped on the bed in his usual spot, immediately started to fall asleep and my wife then lets my daughter climb onto bed right where the dog was and stick her face in his face while she’s climbing up onto the foot of the bed.
Once again, my wife allowed my daughter to quickly fling herself into our dogs space, disturbing him while he’s trying to finally sleep, and he nipped her on the face again. This time he scratched the same side of her face again right below her eye again.
I don’t know what my wife was thinking or why she let our daughter do this. There was absolutely no logical reason for why my daughter should be climbing onto the bed essentially in the dogs face or invading his space. The dog sleeps on my side of the bed at the foot of the bed.
I’ve already talked to her about this, and told her our dog is exhausted, old, his health is not well, and he already endures constant stress all day from our daughter and 99% of the time is amazing with her and tolerates it but he needs some alone time and space. Meanwhile our daughter should not be putting her face in his face, and she needs to teach her not to do this and actively prevent it from happening.
I realize my wife is also exhausted, and we just got over our 3rd round of Covid, but she’s now putting us in a horrible position because she isn’t managing our daughter and the dog well and is putting them both in stupid situations where my daughter is getting hurt and my dog is being stressed out to the point of hurting my daughter when I’m fairly certain it’s not his intention. He is just at his breaking point.
For me this is pretty much a 3 strikes and we have to take serious action situation. Two incidents in such a short time span is not acceptable behavior on my dogs part, even if my wife is responsible.
My daughter’s safety comes first, even if that means I have to protect her from my dog or even my wife’s sleep deprived decision making.
At this point I’m considering hiring a behavioral dog trainer and getting their opinion.
Also looking at getting him a new crate and just crating him at night so he sleeps and maybe make him nap in the crate during the day sometimes. He really has no space of his own anymore since the baby. He used to be create trained as a puppy.
If he hurts my daughter again he likely needs to be rehomed or put down. His med schedule, diet, and seizures are not easy to manage and he cannot be left home alone in the event he has a seizure and requires rescue medication. Factor in his increasing aggressive behavior and hair wire trigger with other dogs and dislike of most people finding someone else to deal with this going to be difficult.
The whole thing is truly heartbreaking because he’s been a loyal and loving companion for my wife and I, and he loves my daughter and I don’t think he wants to hurt her. I’ve exhausted a lot of resources to manage his epilepsy and buy him more time but with my wife losing control of both him and my daughter he is struggling to handle the stress anymore, and my wife is too exhausted. She’s been dealing with adrenal fatigue since she gave birth and her Dad is currently dying of cancer, and her Mom is possibly experiencing early dementia symptoms. I’m empathetic to everything she’s going through, and frankly losing our dog will probably just make things worse but I can’t keep seeing my daughter get hurt like this even if the injuries are minor they should not be happening.
I’m going to try the crate and trainer first, and hope nothing else happens. Also perhaps get a babysitter or someone to help my wife while I’m working.
Anyhow sorry for the wall of text. I’m at a loss here. I love my daughter, my wife, and my dog but my wife is struggling to manage him and he’s now hurt my daughter twice - they’re just scratches and he’s not really drawing blood but it’s still too close to crossing a line since he’s using his teeth to do this.

In a tough spot at work. Every day is constant chaos. Property is getting worse. Nothing is being done to make it a safer environment for staff and residents. Realize any crime could happen anywhere but no efforts are beig made. When our concerns are brought up, the response we receive is we are in downtown and we need a thicker skin. Having a thicker skin isn’t going to stop a bullet from penetrating and killing us. I live downtown off site and I feel safe at home but not 5 minutes away at work?! …There is something nefarious about this place. The amount of crap we’ve been through in the last few months is shocking. The suicides, homicides, and attempted murder just this week on site that resulted in a swat team coming to work and arresting the resident. Now their unauthorized occupants remain and we are to be ok?? The last month has been the most challenging-traumatizing time ever. We watched a person die in front of us AT WORK a few weeks ago. Harassed and threatened by the suspect and their friend after being bonded out of jail a few days later bc I was told not to give them a key to their apartment. I realize I have the option to quit and look for other employment. I am not a quitter but I have to be in order to protect myself in this situation. I want to stay and see things turn around. I am exhausted and always on high alert these days. I am concerned about retaliation. Need to vent. Your thoughts are appreciated.

it seems like everyone around me is angry. Cursing has become very norm. everything I do, there is cursing. I got a VR set to experience something new. Apparently, guests are live in some games and you can hear all the convos. I heard the N word, and MF, FU, so many times. Even on the train, I got off to go home, and all the teenagers curse like every other word. TF, OMFG,...
I even tried to watch some music twitch streams today, and now I know why I never got into gaming. I love the graphics the fun part...but I have to put up with negativity to navigate a virtual and real world. I am 35, I wish the world was better for younger people. I wish they weren't so angry all the time and fighting strangers on the internet.
I quickly exit the situation but even now I think about it and wonder what a mess this world is. I got tied up watching reality tv and gossip. click bait is everywhere. I love so many things about social media. I love the wholesome comedy and dances. I love learning. Today I studied sound engineering on yt. However, I am having to work extra hard to keep my space peaceful and safe.
I can't study with men or work with men. I don't know why, but they always hit on me. I was trying to start a business on tiktok shop and I got so flustered trying to find a coach. The females never gave me a second meeting. I am trying really hard to navigate BP1 and having to pick myself up everyday while having PTSD.
I want to learn how to DJ and learn music, but I am like tip toeing and choosing not to sign up for classes in fear of loosing yet another hobby to depression. I have this flight mode. I wish I can just stick to one thing without drama. send good energy my way plz
