Hello! I'm planning to get a hotel membership here sa Manila, but some memberships kasi vague ang description sa mga website. May idea ba kayo for additional pros and cons of these hotels?

1. The Manila Hotel (Prestige Card) - prio ko as of now, gusto ko 'yung benefits na nakalagay pero wala ako masyadong makitang cons. For members na here, ano need iconsider before buying?
2. Okada - free 'yung membership pero need ng points to upgrade, namamahalan ako sa tier system nila at wala akong makita anong palitan ng stay to ilang points ang makukuha.
3. Marriott - International 'yung membership based sa research ko, need pa ng call to know how much 'yung membership pero maganda rin 'yung benefits for me

So it's my birthday today and I'm drafting this post while I'm having breakfast at the seaside restaurant of the hotel where I booked an overnight stay in for my special day.
Di ko pa to nagawa (staycation) ever kasi I always thought na parang ang unnecessary, weird and impractical lang na magch-checkin ka mag-isa, tapos overnight stay lang. Pero I said, whatever, gagawin ko for the experience, one time lang naman. Birthday gift ko na sa sarili ko.
All I can say is, super super recommended. Ang sarap pala gumising not in a rush to leave for work, to just enjoy the peaceful morning, and reflect on the blessing of another year of life.
Plus ang saya lang na, as a person na di naman talaga sanay mag-hotel, I got to go thru the whole process of checking in, movie-style jumping into my bed, and try the hotel facilities. Hahaha!
For me, super worth it ang expense nato since I was really able to take the time to relax kahit short lang. Siguro inspiration narin to to do better at work para may budget na for similar experiences (maybe a solo travel next time?).
So yun lang, if hanap mo ay sign para mag solo staycation, eto na po yun. 😆

Menin da se na lpp-ju dogajajo problemi, ki jih nobeden ne omenja. Na avtobusih se neregulirano dogajajo kraje, predvsem na območju Viča. Nerevnokar sem sam tudi to doživel. Na busu sta me dva migranta na poti proti izhodu ustavila im me dobesedno začela brcati v noge. Ko sem ju hotel udariti nazaj sta se pa delala bogo in da nista nič kriva. Šele na izstopu iz busa sem opazil da sta mi okradla verižico. Naslednjič ko se mi to zgodi se ne bom zadrževal več, briga me. Iz tukaj se vidi da migranti s sabo prinašajo res čudno, popolnoma tujo kulturo, ki ne spada sem, hkrati pa opažam da jih je velika večina navajena krasti.
Po podatkih so bolj nevarne nočne ure, to pa se je meni zgodilo popoldne, tko da opažam da je tega vedno več in da nobeden o tem ne govori. Kar se tiče s strani policije pa vse bolj bogo, mediji pa itak vse zatajijo kar se tiče leve politike.

The title of the story was called "Sinulog 2021: The Celebration of Lifetime"
Back then in 2021, I had a draft for a self-insert in a POV of myself living an alternate world where COVID-19 does not exist. The POD is simply there is no trace of COVID-19, so life as we know it goes on from March 2020 onwards instead of OTL where we had lockdowns, deaths, bad news, etc.
I came up with this story because people here in Cebu were eagerly waiting for Sinulog 2021 since it was announced to be the "best of our lifetimes" since 2018. It was to be held on March of that year to coincide with the 500th anniversary of the Homonhon arrival of Ferdinand Magellan and the anniversary of the First Catholic Mass on Limasawa Island. We were one year away but then the pandemic happened and extended all the way to May 2023. That meant we never had Sinulog 2021 and 2022. It only came back in 2023. Even then, COVID is not technically gone. It still exists in small numbers.
The story starts from my POV in December 2019 when I first defended my thesis proposal for masters degree. Then it flashes forward to my Graduation in June 2020, the planned family vacation in China in July 2020, and a reunion with my former mountaineers in December 2020.
(In OTL, I was delayed four another two years because of the pandemic. I only graduated in June 2022. Mura ra ra ko ug ga four year course/second courser).
In January 2021, my former mountaineer group would have a reunion camping with new friends. Then it was just a waiting game for the best festival of our lifetime. CCLEX also opens in time without the pandemic.
I haven't fleshed out how it would look like but OTL 2023-2024 showed that Cebu still had its best moments. Instead, ATL Sinulog is still held Abellana in my story, along with big EDM shows and concerts, and the visit of the Pope and the King of Spain. My alternate self also meets many new friends that in OTL I never met (or met rather later).
It however, isn't a happy ending. Away from the festivals and partying, the political side of this alternate 2020s isn't so bright: Bongbong Marcos is still projected to win in 2022 regardless with or without pandemic. And in this alternate story, Trump wins reelection in 2020 because there was no pandemic and George Floyd incident to begin with.
The story ends with me in my friend's boat in alternate May 2021 watching the sunset on the CCLEX. While I reflect life over wine, I couldn't help but believe I was part of the grandest festival in my life. But while I enjoy life, my Twitter notification shows the Russian military buildup on border of Ukraine (some say Putin was merely waiting for Trump to be reelected since Trump and the Republicans would abandon Ukraine) and how the ATL Trump administration is refusing to send aid to Kyiv.
The story is not meant to be a light-hearted one. Instead, think of it as like that scene in A24's Civil War when you see journalists enjoying wine in a hotel admist the chaos of the Second American Civil War or that peaceful town that looks untouched by war but has armed guards on the rooftops. It's to show that we people, especially us Filipinos, tend to forget political affairs (on top of having our own domestic problems) for temporary joy, in this case the much-hyped Sinulog 2021. It's also to show that in a world without COVID-19, it won't be all rainbows and butterflies.

I was reviewing my google timeline dahil sa advisory na this coming November, available na lang sya sa app on my smartphone so nag flashback itong unforgettable travel experience namin (family of 4).
So this trip happened in 2015 - I know, matagal na pero di ko talaga makalimutan :)
My son planned the trip months ahead as a birthday gift to me so he bought plane tickets for all of us, booked a hotel, prepared the itinerary and then advised my wife and my daughter to apply for a Taiwan visa. My US visa then was still valid so all I needed was to apply for the visa online which was granted the same day.
Our departure coincided with the APEC summit so na consider din namin ito while planning on getting to the airport for our 9pm flight. Since my daughter was a PT intern then sa isang facility sa Tagaytay, we all agreed na susunduin namin sya just before lunch (with the permission of her supervisor) and straight to NAIA T3. We left Tagaytay at around 11:30am.
Before heading to the airport, tumawag muna ako sa MMDA hotline to confirm if open pa ang Skyway and sabi sa akin open pa naman daw. Nag decide kami na mag drive thru na lang for lunch to save more time. Naka monitor din kami online and sa radio ng mga advisories, so kalmado pa kami pero nung malapit na kami sa Alabang, biglang may advisory na totally closed na ang Skyway :(
We decided to take the East Service road thru Bicutan exit at around 2:30pm and reached C5 around 4pm. Nakipagtalo pa ako sa traffic enforcer then kasi dapat direcho kami hanggang Lawton/Sales interchange to no avail kahit pinakita pa namin ang plane tickets namin :(
Nagtyaga kami dito until nakarating kami near Lawton/Sales interchange before 8pm. Tanaw na namin ang pagtawid ng Sales so malapit na! Usap usapan na namin ng son ko, kung di kami aabot sa flight, so be it. Siguro talaga kako di para sa amin yun. Lungkot na si wife and my daughter kasi 1st time nila int'l flight. Nalungkot din si son kasi non-refundable ang tickets and hotel booking.
Give up na talaga ako sa sobrang stress at pagod although si son ang nagdrive all the while. Buti na lang, his college friend na Taiwanese was also booked sa same flight namin and he kept telling him na kaya pa dahil malapit na and dinelay na ng CebPac ang flight. All these delays yata were caused by the arrival of Air Force 1 dahil di nila binibigay ETA for security reasons.
At around 8:30pm, nag go na ang mga patawid ng Sales so natuwa na kami lalo na nung natanaw na namin ang airport! Since iiwan namin ang sasakyan namin sa T3 covered parking, binaba kami ni son sa arrival area. So takbo kaming 3 ni wife and daughter bitbit lahat ng luggage, akyat ng elevator papunta sa check-in counter.
Wala ng pila for the Taiwan flight and nag ask lang kami sa staff ng CebPac and we were immediately accommodated so akala ko tapos na. Dumating na din si son and they were all issued boarding passes except me :(
It turned out na may mali sa visa ko kasi instead of 0 (zero) ang nailagay ko is O sa US Visa details ko. Good thing was may dalang laptop si son and CebPac advised na mag reapply since within minutes siguradong ma grant naman. Nag try ako mag type pero talagang nanginginig na ang kamay ko so si son na lang pinag type ko and true enough, na grant naman agad and si CebPac na ang nagprint for me :)
So lumipad ang plane around 10 or 10:30pm, di ko na napansin kung kami yung last na nagboard, pero nung nag taxi na, nakahinga na kami ng maluwag kahit gutom na gutom na kami kasi di na kami nakapag dinner :(
Akala ko tapos na ang sorpresa, pag land namin ng Taiwan syempre tuwang tuwa na kaming lahat. Sumakay ng bus and then taxi papunta sa Ximending where my son booked a hotel. Problem is, mali ang booking nya hahaha! Nalito ata so kinabukasan pa ang booking namin and fully booked na so nakiusap na lang kami na iwan ang luggage sa hotel and pumayag naman.
Kumain muna kami sa Mo's burger ata yun and nakahanap kami ng hotel na may vacancy just for that night.
Overall, okay naman yung trip namin since alam na ni son kung saan kami dadalhin during our stay. Enjoyed it very much.

So for context I had unprotected sex kahapon and I thought everything was going well kasi naka ilang praise siya sakin while doing it and after, we even cuddled and he was constantly asking if okay lang ako tapos after namin maglinis and makalabas ng hotel hinintay niya pa ako makasakay cuz I booked sa move it and told me to message him and I did, tapos nag update din siya kahapon ganun tapos kanina when I was trying to reach out sa ig nakalagay nalang is instagram user which means he blocked me. Na bother and nagoverthink lang ako kasi he took videos tsaka isa pa he came inside pero he said kahapon na "low yung sperm count" niya and safe day ko naman daw kaya I don't need to worry. I don't know what to feel honestly.

Wala naman talaga kami problema ng jowa ko. As per kwento nya ako lang daw gumagawa ng kasalanan nya. Ganito kase un, sya ung tipo ng tao na invalidate ung feelings mo. Grabe ung anxiety ko that day, pumunta padin ako sa reception dahil sinundo nya ako, and chill lang, sabe ko pagkatapos na ng araw na ung saka ko sya singilin. So the following day buong maghapon ako nag rant, i was crying na. He says sorry and wag na ako magalit because it was just a joke. Pero, until today natatakot na ako mapag isa sya sa labas or everytime na may lakad sta at hndi ako kasama ganun ung gagawin nya mag hunt ng bagong baby. Ang laki ng ng trust issues ko dina masukat hahaha! Nag ooverthink malala gabi gabi. Knowing him, Ayaw nya ng toxic na relationship ung walang tiwala sa kanya mabilis sya bumitaw sa ganun, and ako? Aoa, i have a business idea, i want some advice on how to set it up. Idea is of fries stall, biryani shop and chai hotel. So ito na nga, we are both professional sa field namin, pero mas matanda sya sakin ng mga 20 years pa. so kung 30 ako ngayon, mga more or less 50 years old sya. Dumagdag pa yung statement ng boss ko na possible daw na kami nga ang magkaparehas ng bag. So mas nawindang ako. Feeling ko pinagtutulungan nila ako. Natapos ang pag uusap na yun na walang nangyare and di ako natatahimik. And the something hit me. Malaking event yun so imposibleng walang photos. Nag stalk ako sa fb ng mga tao na nakasama namin at alam kong mahilig magpipicture non hanggang nakita sa isang page ng organizer yung hinahanap ko and VIOLA!!! registration picture nilang dalawa ng boss ko with the bag. same sila ng bag! nabunutan ako ng tinik. kinabukasan ulit pinakita ko yun sa boss ko and dun lang sya pumanig sakin! need ko talagang patunayan na wala ako kasalanan bago niya ko kampihan.
And then hinarap ko ulit sya nung mga evidences na ko. Ang ibinigay lang nyang explanation is just, mistakenly concluded lang daw ang nangyare. Dahil sa pagpuna ko sa mga maling trabaho nya feeling nya binubully ko sya and yun daw nagtulak sa kanya para isipin na ninakaw ko bag nya. Hindi ko sya madalas makausap dahil di naman kami close and magkalayo kami ng opisina so nagtataka din ako na naiisip nya na binubully ko sya ei nung nasa event nga kami ang saya saya pa namin.. sya pa nga yung napakaligalig at napakaingay non. So Ako Ba Yung Gago kung di ko na sya pansinin not unless work related. I had enough of her lies na din kasi. Nakakapuno.

Hello. it is my first time going out of the country. i wonder if 20k is enough for a 7 days stay sa BKK for the pocket money. kung di ba ko masshort. kasi i really want to enjoy. feeling ko it should 30k para masabi ko na it will be enough for me to really enjoy. no idea po. salamat sa feedback. hotels, tour and air are paid na. pocket money lang talaga

I’m a CPA with 7 months experience in big 4 auditing firm. I also graduated with latin honor last year. Ask ko lang if I can negotiate a higher basic pay pa? I feel like ang baba ng basic pay for me even though may additional na service charge.

Context: I have been renting my current place for 1.5years, nagexpire na kasi un 1yr contract pero tinuloy ko lng un pagrent and hndi lumipat sa iba wla naman problem , after 6 months which is now suddenly my landlord is asking for increase in rent this coming June, 1 week notice lng then 21% increase, mabigat sa aking bulsa im so dumbfounded, i live in QC, i think this is because nagbukas na un Solaire resort and ang sabi daw magtataasan properties dito sa area porket tinayuan ng Casino and Hotel?? bakit ganon?? what should i do?? Im looking for a new place pero it will take me some time to find lilipatan. Any advise please nakakapaghina , How do i haggle w my landlord what should i say, is this allowed by law?

So, I was in Pokhara for a few days. Theme: Moonlight
800 years before the third millennium. The World has created the True Ancestor Princess, undisputed royalty of the Earth's force against humans. Arcueid Brunestud was a pure paradigm of white light, untainted perfection. Hello, I'm (F21) planning na mag-solo travel for the first time sa Vietnam (it'll be my second intl. trip following our fam's SG trip so my idea on the required pocket money is a bit high kasi ang mahal sa SG 😭). Can you guys recommend what's a good budget range (overall including airfare) for 10 days?
I'm thinking of around ₱30k for overall (₱13k for airfare, ₱12k for accoms, ₱5k+extra for others)
Here are my notes so far: - Target places: Hanoi, Sa Pa, Da Nang, HCM (will probably only spend 1 night OR 1 day) - Roundtrip airfare estimate: ₱13k - Booking sites: Klook, Agoda, 12goasia
In terms of accommodation, I am estimating atmost ₱12k for 9 nights in 3-4 diff accoms (is this doable or can it be lower?). I'm avoiding hostels or any shared spaces since I'm a female solo traveller 🥹 Although plan ko na gamitin yung ibang nights sa sleeper VIP bus/train para tipid sa time. My last night would probably spent at the airport since right after midnight yung departure ng target travel dates ko.
Can you also recommend good booking sites for accoms and sleeper VIP buses/trains?
Medyo clear and madali na lang yung pag-book ng flight for me since it's pretty straightforward. I'm just quite unsure on what budget and energy should I allot for other things like: - Transpo within the country, especially for far distance travel - For the food naman I'm not a heavy eater pero target ko makakain nung famous dishes/snacks nila tapos cup noodles na lang siguro sa gabi hahaha (I think I can manage without the breakfast, if anything I'll just find hotels with it and airport pickup/dropoff included + maraming attractions nearby) - With the activities, I'm okay with mostly just picture taking lol but I would also like to try some activities like yung with ducks and lantern - Souvenirs
Should I just remove HCM (read a lot of comments na medyo boring din daw huhu) and replace it with Hoi An instead para malapit sa Da Nang? Are 4 places too much for 10 days? Makakapagpahinga pa ba ako in between my itinerary? 😭 Any thoughts? Advices? Validation? Recommendations?

I F(26) been talking to this guy M(26) for about 6 months now, long distance. Nasa US siya ngayon with family, in a few weeks, he'll visit here sa Phil to check on some business and to meet up. Gusto niya na sunduin ko siya sa airport tas yun magiging 1st meeting namin kung sakali. Ever since nasabi niya sakin na babalik siya ng Pinas, pinipilit niya na sunduin ko siya. Even sent me money para yun gamitin ko for all the expenses including magrent ng car and overnight stay sa hotel before yung dating niya. Travel sa airport is about 5 hrs. Okay lang naman sakin pero halos lahat ng close friends ko sinasabi na wag daw. Baka may gawin siya, or scam or he's really not into me kasi dapat daw siya ang pumunta kung san man ako. Please advise kung wise na ako magsubdo? Or just wait for him? Tas gusto ko lang din kumuha ng guy perspective. Medjo confuse lang din po. Thank you
