In the sutras, Dhammapada, etc. We are reminded that after Siddhartha attained enlightenment, he was initially not inclined to teach others the truth. He doubted that anyone would be able to benefit/learn from the profundity of his teachings. Brahma then (in the versions I've read) asked Siddhartha 3 times to teach, after which he agreed.
I think about this a lot. From one perspective, for example, this teaches us the need for the student to seek out and request teachings from the guru instead of lazily expecting the teacher to find you. This could also indicate the difficulty and preparation required to benefit from the teachings. And this could also be a warning that very few would have the capacity to hear the most profound teachings without tremendous suffering (as was the case for those who basically died of shock when they heard teachings on emptiness).
And I wonder if anyone else saw this as the Buddha's first "instruction"? Being omniscient, he would have known that he would encounter many students who would go on to become Arhats and Boddhisatvas (Manjushri, Avolokiteshvara, Sariputra, Asanga, the son and wife he abandoned to attain enlightenment in the first place), but I don't recall anyone directly asking him about this?

I think about this a lot. “Arsenal watching city going 1 up after hate watching”
I feel like I've never seen more fans hate watching while 0 Arsenal supporters do so.Spurs fans consistently hate watching when we got into the champions league.
Arsenal, when they were down to Luton, had so many hate-watchers. So many shitty fans calling us hate watchers, then watching every single city and arsenal game to try and clown us.
But I’ve never really seen Arsenal fans as hate watchers… There may be a couple of examples I haven’t seen, but from what I've seen our “Hate watching” has come down to seeing how interesting games can be. When City goes up 1, I try to keep watching (from NZ, so time zones are a bitch) because I like football and I’m interested. I got to 3-0 city vs Fulham before I fell asleep.
Just funny going onto twitter and reading chelsea fans saying ”CITTTEHHHHHH” n such. A bit of a guilty pleasure is reading idiotic posts on twitter.
The Social Media Fans
Social media fans are rampant and are now seen as “The fans of the club” which is insane, because 90% of them have never been to England, let alone a game. And will look at a scoreline/highlights to determine what they think, And look at a team’s name to determine what the result should be.
Trust, I’ve watched full games back from time to time, and goddamn the picture is soooooooo different, from watching highlights, or reading a timeline.
Not sure about certain supporters who live within England, and It may be “banter” but it gets tiring hearing “We all hate Arsenal fans” when you actively have so many more Chelsea, and United fans screaming in your ears about every little thing, while supporting their rivals…
I hate the “pray for (insert team)” but the more of a meme it becomes the better, it’s just sad that they come with some of the most delusional takes ever, from people who don’t pay attention to how other teams are performing. And that they’re not just “food” for us to eat, it’s a competitive league for a reason.
Supporting the Dominant Team
I also find it insane that such a large group of people would rather see a team, with 115+ charges (who have been constantly avoiding them), while also spending billions to win the league for the 6th time in 7 years, over a team which is having a rise to glory. Just because “It’s arsenal”. While if you look back a couple months, everyone is complaining about city.
Also when did the fact where everyone hates the dominant team, and wants to see others rising not become a thing? F1 had it with Hamilton, now verstappen. NZ rugby has it with the crusaders (absolute cunts btw), and it happened with Golden State in the NBA, and now the nuggets.
Clubs who talk about history to prove they’re better now
It’s so common I see fans talk about trophies as if they mean “We’re the best team in the world”, Chelsea fans are great at this, bringing back a champions league where they only have 3 of those players, and a completely different management and ownership.
I just hope that this is banter, and not actual delulu. Hard for me to tell, or even certain teams talking about european trophies (cough cough west ham *cough cough*), where it is amazing they got it, but bring a top 4 / 5 team, who wants to win that competition, and they’ll win it almost every time.
What defines big clubs to me is, how good is your club now, and how many fans around the world do you have. Man United has the fans, but the team quality due to injuries wouldn’t help them to be the “biggest club”. The reason Barcelona vs Real was so big was because they were the best in the world, with the best players, and the most fans. Barcelona are a smaller club now (still huge), because the names aren’t as big, and they aren’t as competitive as they used to be. But still will have a ton of fans.
Teams Succeeding???
For me, I don’t like spurs, the mentality, the supporters, the scummy tactics. But I do want to see the team succeed in the competition (I Also like Ange and his story). I’m happy Aston Villa is doing well, I’m happy Liverpool had a bounce back season, and I'm happy Newcastle have started to find their footing.
And this is because you want a competitive league. We DON’T want a Bayern situation. Everyone always wanted Dortmund to win it, or at least another team, and look at the celebrations now that Leverkusen has done it. Bundesliga got 5 champions league spots, not only because of what happened in the Champion league, but you have Bayern, Dortmund, Leverkusen, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, RB Leipzig all becoming more and more competitive. (Even though the disparity between 1-8 and 9-18 is big) it’s a step in a good direction.
Winning the League?
I’ve supported Arsenal since I was 7, because playing Fifa 12 with my older brothers, I thought the cannon was cool. I’ve been on and off for a while, but Arteta brought me back (And my degen phase of 4 hours of sleep has kicked in)
These years have taught me to never expect our team to win anything, till the final whistle of the final game. Very fucking sad, but it’s true. I will celebrate every win, Look back at every loss, watch every minute I can despite being sleep deprived, and love every moment, because I fucking love this club. I don’t care if we win the Premier league this season or not, I have no hope, but that could be my bleak outlook. But it was the same last season. I wait for the final whistle of the final game, then having the trophy or not, might give me a little more happiness.
But by far the most important thing for a depressed, mentally ill, sleep deprived, University student. Is when I see posts about the players, the club, the staff and the fans. And it makes me smile. As simple as seeing Gabriel and Saliba partnership being praised and them being “future” of Arsenal, makes me smile now, and gives me the moments of happiness which sadly, fade quickly. But they’re there.
Lastly PLEASE for the love of this club, never stop talking about the small cute things our players do, the celebrities involved, the nicknames we give our players, the new chants created. That character is what makes this club fucking beautiful.

I'm currently an OJT student and 1 month nalang, matatapos na ako. So far so good pa naman sa umpisa, not until I was task to promote their raffle promo by registering the consumers account. 2 weeks ko na ginagawa to and I hate doin this actually since I have social anxiety but I have to push myself dahil OJT student lang naman ako.
Here's the thing, may 3 guards and head guard (hindi ko alam tawag dun sorry) na nagbabantay sa station kung saan nag babayad mga customers. Each day, may iba't-ibang guard na nakabantay. Yung dalawa dun ayos silang pakisamahan. I just like the fact na hindi sila nangengealam sa strategy ko ng pag approach at pakikipag usap sa mga customers dun. But the other guard and that head guard, ibang usapan na sakin yan. Yung guard na to kapag nag eexplain na ako sa kausap ko na customers about sa raffle, bigla bigla sya mag sasalita na "Oo na alam na nila yan." o kaya naman "Oo na, Sige na" na parang nang aasar. Hindi ko rin gusto yung mga immature jokes nila lalo na kapag nasa harap ako ng mga customers. I tend to act formally and politely in front of them pero yung guard at head guard na yun they always mock the way I spoke habang kausap ko mga customers dun. Example inuulit-ulit nila yung mga sinasabi ko in a mocking tone. Nakikitawa ako pero deep inside naasar na ako. And the more they do it, lalo bumababa confident ko.
Kanina lang hindi ko na kinaya yung pang-aasar nila. My trainee supervisor gave me extra task to do. Kung nung una ireregister ko lang sila at kukunin yung isang receipt nila, ngayun naman kailangan ko ng isulat yung consumers name, their cellphone numbers and account number. Dahil sa nag-iisang OJT lang ako, nahihirapan ako na ipagsabay-sabay lahat. Natatakot ako dahil sunod-sunod mga dumadating na nag paparegister at baka mainip na sila sa pag antay kaya nililimit ko lang talaga mga ireregister ko. But out of nowhere, nag volunteer tung isang guard na mag lista and sila din mismo nag tatawag ng mag paparegister (dahil may makukuhang benefit). But the problem here ay nag iisa lang ako na nag reregister using cellphone. May mga times pa na delay ang pag reload o pag send ng otp kaya habang tawag ng tawag ng mag reregister ang guard at naglilista, patambak naman ng patambak tung nagpaparegister sakin. Tapos ang mas nakakainis pa ang akala nung guard na yun ay picture lang ang ginagawa ko sa pag register. Pero hindi yun ganun lang! Time consuming kung walang qr sa receipt ng customers. May mga times pa na malabo na yung qr kaya mano mano pa ang pag log-in sa mga account nila. Kaya in the end yung guard na yun at yung head guard na yun pinag tutulungan na ako. I can hear them saying na ambagal ko daw, na nasasayang daw mga customers dahil nag sisialisan na sila at nung nag sabi na ako sa window nung trainee supervisor ko sa minor problem ng pag register which is yung hindi makareceive ng otp ang mga nagpaparegister, yung 2 dun sa likod tumawa na at inulit-ulit yung sinabi ko sa trainee supervisor namin in mocking tone. Hindi ko na kinaya ang ginagawa nila kaya sumagot na ako in sarcasm na "Sorry ah delay kasi sending ng otp eh... buti nga po kayo nag susulat lang. Palit po kaya tayo no?" Hindi sila nanahimik bagkus tumawa lang at pinagpatuloy pag mock sakin. I just focus myself sa mga customer and nag reason na ako bakit matagal mag send otp.
Alam ko na medyo bastos yung pag sagot ko pero deep inside wala akong pinag sisisihan na nasabi ko yun. I feel disrespected at feeling ko rin napapahiya na ako sa mga customers dun. Nag-ooverthink na ako at every time na pumipikit ako, naiimagine ko narin yung mga tao dun na tinatawanan ako. Naiiyak at ayaw ko na gawin to. Nasa point na ako na ayaw ko na pumasok pero wala naman akong choice diba... I'm questioning kung bakit nangyayare sakin yung mga bagay na ayaw kung gawin sakin. Kaya hindi ko yun ginagawa sa kapwa ko eh... ayaw ko na talaga... pero ojt lang naman ako eh... kaya wala akong karapatan mag sabi ng hinanakit ko...

Apologies if this is a bit long but its something I've been thinking about for a long time and I dont know how to approach this.
My mum loves designer luxury bags, however she only owns like 2. I've definitely inherited this gene from her as we both love to browse and window shop together. Many times she will lament over the prices which is totally understandable because lets be real the prices can be kinda insane.
For some background my mum did grow up poor; she basically achieved the American dream, she came from a small village in India and now shes basically the rich one (all praise to god!). Whilst she is kinda stingy she absolutely can afford luxury things.
And the main reason im making this post it that she will spend that money on me but won't for herself. She was in hers 40's when she bought a luxury bag for herself, but she bought me, mine when I was 18. She does this with everything, like if im flying by myself I get business class seats but she will only pay economy for herself. In fact if there was a cheaper version of economy, where idk you had to stand for, she would 1000% choose that option as well.
Anyways the guilt is mainly the reason I want her to buy for herself, its really been bothering me a lot recently. I want both of us to share in the joy of getting new bags etc, and im sure all of you on this sub understand that feeling of shopping and buying your perfect bag. She loves shopping she just doesn't buy anything for herself.
Im currently a student so im not working otherwise I 100% would have bought her something. My plan is to use my first pay check ever to buy her a gift, but unfortunately im doing a very long degree so theres a long time before that.

I know she'd appreciate what I buy, but she would not be happy if I sent my dad to buy her a Prada bag for example so unfortunately that avenue is not possible. I (F) am 26 years old and have not lived with my parents since 18 (went to college moved to another city for work etc). My parents have never 100% supported me financially (not a lack of funds, rather to be spiteful and to hold it over my head), we have never had a great relationship mostly due to how they treated me and the poor life choices they have made. I reached out to my parents for help and I was offered a loan with high pay back, which I rejected (lending money through a bank would be a better deal). Now everyone is fighting with everyone. That however is not the reason I want to cut them off, just another fight to add to the long list of rubbing each other the wrong way. For as long as I can remember they have been very absent in my life (I hardly ever saw my father growing up and when I did he would always yell, swore at me and belittle me, the usual "you will never amount to anything" etc). My earliest memory of my father was him cussing at me, I was 3 years old and I remember it like yesterday. My mother although, she did try and made a effort made a lot of messed up decisions in her life which cost her almost everything. That led to her being dependent on my father as well, even though they are divorced (she moved back in with my father a few years back because she couldn't afford to survive on her own anymore, she also isn't treated great and I do feel sorry for her, but in my opinion she did bring it upon herself. My father has done horrible things like, swore at me, said thing no person should ever say to another person, let alone a parent, slapped me and threatened me, e.g. if I didn't do this he wont give me money for food, if I didn't do that he wont help me though college etc. (Just a note, he forced me to go study and held it against me if we ever had an argument). I have always been respectful towards them, but after a few years I also snapped and started arguing back (I usually just cried and went to my room). I have never gotten into any trouble, never had any issues with anyone, so generally I was a good teenager and adult. I always help them with anything they need etc.
Just to give you idee, he wouldn't give me money for things growing up, not in college and I was a full time student, so I couldn't take a half day work. When I first started working I earned just enough to cover fuel, medical aid, rent, utilities, I could not afford food and other necessities every month and would reach out and ask for a small amount of money like 5 dollars or less small. Anyways, he has "friends", people who only surround him for benefits (everyone can see it for what it is, except him) he supports them financially, food, money, alcohol, cloths, pays for their children's school, clothing etc. Mind you, he didn't pay my school fees and was handed over to debt collection, he didn't buy me clothes growing up etc. My though always was, why them and not me, why random people off the street (not actually homeless people or the less fortunate), why am I not enough, but they are. I ask for 5 dollars or food, no big problem, gets insulted, but he will give them 100 dollars for alcohol and to go out and eat (no joke that actually happened). I would sit and not be able to afford monthly expenses and he would call and brag about him taking them out to eat, buying cases of alcohol. And mind you it has been so for more than 10 years, so it isn't like he is doing this now that I am an adult, he this when I was still a child.
Almost everyone think very highly of him, he is always the center of attention, the best person, if I ever told anyone how he treated me he would get very upset and even slapped me once, because he didn't want me telling people that he wasn't the best, I didn't lie nor exaggerate either. Another example is I was in a relationship with a man who handled me very badly (as in abuse in the worst kind of way), my father liked him and knew what had happened. Both groups argue the changes are illegal. The province is expected to argue next week that anglophone east’s case should be dismissed because the DEC doesn’t have the right to fight the issue in court.
On Friday, Education Minister Bill Hogan attempted to downplay the government’s newest Policy 713 battleground, its fight with the three francophone DECs, who are refusing to post the new policy on their districts’ websites.
Instead, their own versions are there, and according to the DECs, being enforced.
Previously, Hogan has threatened to dissolve them if they don’t start following the government’s new version of the policy. On Friday, however, he appeared to back away a little, saying that while the DECs had nominally adopted their own gender-identity policy, the schools in their districts are actually following the province’s new policy.
On Monday, Francophone School District South’s DEC scoffed at Hogan’s comments, and said they aren’t, and won’t, follow the new policy.
Michel Côté, the DEC chair, said its policy remains active and continues to be enforced in the district’s schools, “to ensure that every student can thrive in an environment that champions authenticity.” The policy allows students in Grades 6 and above to go by their preferred name and pronoun without parental consent and for younger students to do so on a case-by-case basis. This differs from the province’s version, which requires parental consent for students under 16.
At an unrelated press conference in Fredericton on Wednesday, Brunswick News asked Hogan about the fight with the francophone DECs.
“I’m not surprised by that question, and I have no comment,” he replied stoically.
But Beauséjour MP Dominic LeBlanc, the federal minister for intergovernmental affairs, and Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth Marci Ien were happy to discuss the issue.
“I’ve met educators and medical professionals that have real concerns about this,” LeBlanc said. “I think it’s unfortunate to politicize it in a way that has been the case in New Brunswick. It’s such an important and such a sensitive issue for families and for children.
“And I am confident that the people that have stepped forward, including to take this to the courts, I hope will be successful. And we’ll look forward to supporting children who are in this difficult circumstance.”
Ien noted that the policy changes affect “the most vulnerable kids.”
“And so when you’re dealing with queer kids and trans kids in particular, they have to be at the centre of every decision,” she said.
“When I look at the college of psychologists, when I look at educational forums, when I look at a lot of parents in particular, they all say kids come first. And anything that is detrimental to their mental health – and this would be detrimental to their mental health – isn’t a positive.”
Asked for her thoughts about other provinces, like Alberta and Saskatchewan, who appear to be following New Brunswick’s lead on Policy 713, Ien said it’s “highly concerning.”
She then discussed “the escalating hate” around Momentum Canada’s “Rainbow Week of Activism,” which is happening this week, and how organizers of several events have spoken about having to increase security because of “unconscionable” threats.
Ien, standing by her son Dash, said there’s a correlation between increased threats and policy changes like 713.
“We are hearing from the community that things have never been more intense, death threats have never been more intense, and they actually have to hire security and police in order to have a Pride parade, to bring family and community together. So that’s where we’re at.”
Asked what Ottawa can do, given that education is a provincial jurisdiction, Ien said her government is “leading by example, and that’s the thing to do.”

One things for certain, throwing the AI detectors is much, much less work than with Chat-GPT3.5 or even 4. I am learning Korean and I have a stutter. I would say it’s on the mild side but there are common words/sounds that I definitely find hard to say and block on. The frustrating thing is I don’t stutter when I talk to myself. So I can practice saying something alone for as long as I want but I will stutter saying a difficult word when talking to someone else.
I am looking for a new teacher. I would always message in advance to ask my tutors and teachers if they are ok to teach someone who stutters. They always say that they don’t mind but because they have so many students, they forget that I stutter after x amount of lessons. So when I stutter in a lesson, a lot of them make faces unconsciously or look a bit shocked or sometimes they look like they don’t know what just happened to me. But quite a few have moved on quickly or nodded encouragingly which I really appreciate. When I vibe with a tutor, I feel a lot more comfortable and so will stutter less.
Now instead of just messaging a teacher beforehand and saying ‘I have a stutter, please be patient etc’, now, I am thinking of looking for a teacher who is willing to help me say these sounds when I block or have a hard time getting words out. So for example, I want to tell the teacher directly, “I stutter on xxx word or xxx grammar - can you help me practice saying it?” This is something I haven’t asked before.. I would only request teachers to be patient with me before my first trial lesson. I am wondering if this is too much to ask of a teacher.

I have seen some student accommodation apartments that seemingly tick off all requirements for Huurtoeslag being unable to receive it. I am having a difficult time finding the relevant information, but from what I see this is relevant:
Rent allowance law - Chapter 1. General provisions - § 1. Definitions - Article 1.c:
"tenant: person who has his main residence in a home rented by him, including a caravan, unless the rental agreement concerns a use of the home that is by its nature short-term;"
My understanding therefore is that all "Short Term" Tenancy Agreements are unable to receive Huurtoeslag despite being otherwise eligible for it. Here is an old example of students having to repay previously acquired benefits for this very reason.
Unfortunately I am having a difficult time finding information defining what a Short-term rental agreement is. Is there a minimum/maximum legal limit for the duration of the agreement (1 month, 6 months, a year?). I understand that the definition deviates between municipalities, but am unable to find anything more.
Despite this, I know a few students who have received rent benefit despite being on exchange and staying in the country for a few months.

This is a very rural area in Alabama, and only one of these districts is well funded. Most on-base families choose this district, and many other non-military families choose to apply for waivers to attend here as well.
4 years ago this district decided to start charging tuition for non-resident students. This meant military and non-military children now had to pay a yearly fee to attend. The district justified this by saying it was to pay for excess materials needed to house the surplus students. As a result, many non-military families chose to stay at their local schools and military families chose other schools.
The tuition also scales each year you attend. For example, Freshman year is $1200 per student and Senior year is $2400 per student.
This was not a huge deal at first; but, in the 4 years since, the 4 other adjacent districts implemented the same policies. This keeps non-military families in their local districts.
However, military families are subject to tuition in each district tuition policy because we live outside the district. Because we don't have am on-base high school, this means that all our options charge tuition. This means it's impossible for our children to attend public high school without paying thousands of dollars.
Military parents have organized against this, but the schools have stood firm and the Army hasn't made it a priority either.

I think that the expression "my loved mother" denotes "my mother, whom I love". If so, it might be argued that "my" has a dual theta role: it is both the Agent of the verb "love" and the Possessor of the noun "mother". Of course, I know that there are many ways to claim that this doesn't count as an exception to the theta-criterion, but isn't it at least the case that there are two theta roles in (1) and both are interpreted as 1SG (even if they aren't assigned to the "same" syntactic element)? Hey y’all, I’m graduating in ~ a month from now, and I had a few questions about commencement. I’m a first-gen student, so I’m unfamiliar with the process since I’ve never been to a college graduation (so bear with me if the questions are stupid).
I’ve signed up online at the beginning of April and I have my tickets for commencement, but do I go with my family to the Bren events center, or is there a separate process for graduating students?
I have my cap, gown, and tassel, but is there a dress code for what I should wear underneath (business casual)?
What am I allowed to bring to the ceremony to have on hand with me, like can I bring a water bottle for example?
Lastly, I heard that in the past the UCI alumni association has given out free license plate frames at some point during the ceremony. Is this before or after we walk on stage? Would I have to carry it with me on stage (assuming they give it out beforehand)?
If anyone has experience from a past commencement and can answer these for me, that would be greatly appreciated! Just want to be as prepared as possible before the big day.

Hello all! I wanted to see if anyone else had similar symptoms/experiences. I’m a 28 year old female and have a history of anxiety and depression. I went to a psychiatrist back in September 2023 and he basically was like “yeah you should get tested for ADHD.” I battled with this for many months and I am getting tested this Friday (yay!).
I also recently discovered that, according to my mother, I was “not on par with the normal students and had to be in a special ed class” going into 1st grade. I don’t know the details and my parents do not remember the details, but basically the school psychologist would ask questions and I would answer them but not in the way they were looking for. For example, “what’s a pet that starts with the letter D and has four legs?” Most people would say “dog” but my answer would be “Doberman” and this is considered not what they are looking for. My parents refused to put me in any type of special education and did not pursue further testing (probably in denial or something).
What was your experience like with psychological testing? Anyone else have similar experiences growing up with school? Any insight is much appreciated and thank you for reading my long post lol. 😅

Rather than dropping this talking point he acts as though his quiver is low and he needs every arrow possible and has recently changed it to “They have no demands… or their demands are misguided.” So fucking silly. Divestment, as big Steve knows from studying more history than most people have casually read, is a political tool that has been used for decades with varying degrees of effect. As a capitalist I would think the idea of people ``voting with your dollar” would get him hard. Destiny has defended his support for the war against Hamas. I haven’t seen him defend his position that American universities should be using their endowments to assist Israel in their war. It wouldn’t surprise me if he has some really thought out reasons for this position but I haven’t heard it yet so until that moment I think his position is stupid at best.

I think this is a stupid take. The kids I talk to think they are/we all are funding a genocide. I know Big D doesn’t think we’re funding genocide… nobody is correct all the time. They want their school and/or government to stop funding it. Many of them don’t agree what the next step should be but they do know they want their school to divest. Brown is the one example that I know of where the school said, “Ok, we’ll vote on divesting in the fall.” The students didn’t say, “We’re staying until you divest.” They said, “Sounds good.” and broke down their encampment. They know what they want and when the school said that they would vote on it months from now the students walked away.

He’s also said, “The history matters but at the same time it doesn’t matter.” By this I understood him to be saying, “Yes, X happened in 19XX or 18XX and that was bad and it shouldn’t have happened but what are we going to do about what’s happening on the ground right now?” When I see these clips of kids being asked questions they don’t know the answer to, the latter Destiny quote pops into my smooth brian. The most EXTREME form of anti-zionism that I can think of, that I’ve never come across naturally (meaning not searching for it), in the anti-zionist circles, would be the end of Israel and killing of every zionist. Even if 90% of jews were Zionists, even after they realized they could denounce their Zionism and not be killed, that still wouldn’t be killing jews because they are jews. It would be killing zionists because they’re zionists. In fact, if someone were to hold that position they'd be forced to, in absolute numbers, kill more American Protestants than Isrealies. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if the largest population of zionists are American protestants. Obviously if the most extreme version of anti-zionism isn’t anti-semitism then the same is true for all versions. If I saw the 6mwe shirts being worn by some of the protestors on these campuses I would be concerned. What's more likely is some of these counter protestors at UCLA were wearing those shirts on Jan 6 in DC.

I think it’s very important to point out that if you grow up hearing rockets flying over head, are told in school about all the violence Hamas and those that came before have committed against Israelis (but for propaganda reasons they’d probably say jews rather than israelis) and and that the Gazains have always wanted to kill jews (calling them jews not israelis) and then you’re trained in the IDF and sent into Gaza you might make statements via humorous skit or whatnot about enjoying killing Gazians or that not enough Gazians have been killed while in a bombed out apartment complex in Gaza. What I assume is happening a little bit more than TikTok posts being made is people shooting rather than not because they've been radicalized. Destiny is correct; we need to talk about the radicalization that if Gazians are experiencing then young Iraelis must be experiencing too.

IMO His perspective on the above mentioned topic is a perfect example of why he should stop thinking of himself in this way. It says so much to me that when people in a society have their basic needs met they think about the world broadly. They look for international injustice and they do what they can to try to minimize it. From Destiny’s comments it seems as though he prefers for Americans to be so wrapped up in their own survival that they aren’t thinking about international affairs.
What makes Steven valuable to online politics and philosophy is not that he’s a progressive but his desire to put in the work, show that work being done, to become educating about topics and then expose others for not being educated. 99.9% of factual matters Destiny knows and remembers about this conflict than many scholars. That’s impressive and very important to show people that if you can put in 7 hours a day, 6 days a week, not just read but study for those hours you can come close to having nearly scholarly knowledge on the topic. Obviously there's a difference between having the knowledge and bringing new knowledge to the academy’s attention, that realm is still best left to the scholars but it's incredibly empowering for us all to know that if you put in the work it is possible to know more than 99% of the population on a topic in a short amount of time.
It would do Destiny and the far-left good if he was more clear about the fact that he’s a classical liberal who’s influenced by The Founding Fathers, Adam Smith, Ricardo and the Marquis de Sade.

Hello all, we have a trip to Greece next week and, despite usually being autistic about planning, I have been very busy recently and have not had proper time to plan this out. Specifically, I am a little worried because I'm having trouble finding much information (times, prices, reliability) in regards to on ground transport. I get that each region has its own bus companies with their own websites, and many forums I saw said to just buy tickets at the counter the day of, but that makes me a bit nervous. For example, I'm thinking, what if the tickets are sold out for the specific bus that I had planned to take and I already have hotels/tickets lined up for the next destination? Also, how frequent are the busses (not being able to find easy online time-tables is killing me)? As you will see from my trip outline below there are several days in which I would like to take an evening/late afternoon bus, so as to be able to spend one morning/ afternoon exploring one city and sleep in the next city, so as to repeat that strategy the next day. Any insight into all this is very much appreciated, and also any suggestions on the below itinerary would be great since we have only book the airfare in and out at this point.

"Whether it's about security of existence, healthcare or money in the wallet, or the availability of sufficient housing, our ambition is great," the four write in the introduction to what they themselves call an outline agreement. "We also want to reverse the far too high influx of asylum seekers and immigrants. We want farmers, gardeners and fishermen to have a future again." The new coalition has broken down the intended policies, many of which still have to be worked out by the future cabinet, into 10 chapters. This will only happen in 2027, because earlier would not be possible. Now there is still a mandatory deductible of 385 euros per year. That would then become 165 euros per year. Furthermore, the coalition wants a reduction in the burden on labor "for example by introducing an extra bracket in the Income Tax." And the four want to encourage job security, improve debt relief and make child care almost free for parents.Grip on asylum and migrationAs announced, the coalition is heading for the strictest asylum package ever. Thus there will be a temporary Asylum Crisis Act with crisis measures. In the event of a "crisis," far-reaching measures can be taken. The indefinite asylum permit will be abolished and the temporary residence permit will be modified. Asylum seekers who have been rejected will be "deported as much as possible, including by force." Also, asylum seekers with residency permits will no longer be given priority in the allocation of social housing. Automatic family reunification will also be scrapped, and the number of people allowed to chain migrate will be "severely restricted." Asylum is not the only form of migration the coalition wants to combat. There will be additional requirements for migrant workers from outside the EU, and "malicious temporary employment structures" will be cracked down on. Study migration will be curbed, including by offering more courses in Dutch, a cap on foreign students and an increase in tuition fees for non-EU students. As for civic integration, the four want knowledge of the Holocaust to become mandatory and language requirements to be raised. Under the same heading is regulation of amplified prayer calls [of mosques].(Public) housing, infrastructure, public transportation and aviationStructurally, 100,000 new homes must be added each year. One way to do this is to make more land available for building. "'Adding streets, inside and outside of cities." the agreement states. Of new construction, at least 30 percent on average must be for social rent. For homeowners, the increase in property taxes will be capped. Furthermore, the accessibility of rural areas must be improved "by strengthening bus transport between village centers in the countryside" and the construction of the Lelylijn, a train connection between Lelystad and Groningen, will continue. Agriculture and fisheries, food security, and natureRegarding agriculture, the BBB's spearhead, the coalition wants to "pull out all the stops" to adapt European directives. Furthermore, working in care (where there is a large staff shortage) must become more attractive. This should be done "by means of more autonomy, career prospects, good working conditions and limitation of regulatory and administrative burdens." There should also be better care for the elderly. In terms of education, teaching methods used should be "proven effective and otherwise politically neutral" and 'Englishification' should be reduced. On medical ethics, everything remains as it is. "The legal frameworks remain unchanged" around embryos, abortion and euthanasia.Good governance and strong rule of lawThe coalition is sorting out a new electoral system for the House of Representatives. Exactly what that should look like remains to be determined. In any case, it should strengthen "the regional link between voters and elected officials." The intention is to have the system in place by the next elections. Furthermore, steps must be taken for a constitutional revision so that laws can be tested against the Constitution. And by extension, steps should also be taken for the formation of a constitutional court to conduct constitutional review (a fervent wish of NSC leader Pieter Omtzigt). Not much of a Reddit user but I recently got shuffled to a different school and I was looking for some advice. I've been a ALT for far too long but every other JTE I've worked with has been a good experience until now.
This JTE just has a strong and pushy personality. The first time I met her I just could feel the bad vibes. They have a lot of pride in the way they teach and instead of using the typical -sensei, they refer to me as -san. This teacher will ask me questions in class on the spot about differences in words or grammar without talking about it prior. They seem to expect me to know examples or the differences on the spot. I try my best to my knowledge to give a good answer, but even in front of the students the JTE's reaction feels like I gave an inadequate answer.
During my down time this teacher is quite pushy about sharing their teaching method with me. To the point of shoving the books they've read onto me. This teacher also doesn't seem to want to speak in English with me. They use Japanese and I will constantly only reply in English. I understand Japanese, but I've only ever used English with JTEs. My wife says just go along with it. Say, "Yes. Yes. Uh huh. Ok." But I just can't relax around this teacher.
