2024.05.16 08:44 pearldental12 difference between braces and invisalign

Invisalign is an alternative to traditional metal braces. It involves a series of custom-made, clear plastic aligners that fit snugly over your teeth. These aligners are designed to gradually move your teeth into the desired position.
Benefits of Invisalign
Aesthetics: The clear aligners are virtually invisible, making them a discreet option for teeth straightening.
Comfort: The aligners are made of smooth plastic, reducing the likelihood of irritation compared to metal braces.
Removable: Since the aligners are removable, you can eat and drink without restrictions and maintain your regular oral hygiene routine.
Predictability: The digital planning process allows for a more predictable treatment outcome.
Braces are a highly effective orthodontic treatment used to correct various dental issues, including misaligned teeth, overcrowding, and bite problems. Here are the key benefits of braces:
Benefits of Braces
Improved Oral Health:
Easier Cleaning: Straighter teeth are easier to clean, reducing the risk of cavities, gum disease, and tooth decay.
Reduced Risk of Gum Disease: Properly aligned teeth help prevent the buildup of plaque and tartar, reducing the risk of periodontal disease.
Enhanced Aesthetics:
Improved Smile: Braces can significantly enhance the appearance of your smile by correcting crooked or misaligned teeth.
Boosted Confidence: A better smile can improve self-esteem and confidence, positively affecting social interactions and self-image.
Better Functionality:
Improved Bite: Correcting bite issues such as overbite, underbite, or crossbite can improve the functionality of your teeth, making it easier to chew and speak.
Reduced Wear and Tear: Properly aligned teeth experience less uneven wear and tear, which can preserve the longevity of your teeth.
Prevention of Future Dental Issues:
Avoidance of Dental Complications: Misaligned teeth can lead to more serious dental problems over time, including jaw pain, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, and even tooth loss.
Space for Teeth: Correcting overcrowding ensures there is enough space for all teeth, preventing issues such as impacted teeth.
Long-Term Cost Savings:
Preventive Care: Investing in braces can save money in the long run by avoiding costly dental procedures needed to correct severe dental problems that can develop from untreated misalignment.

2024.05.16 08:44 narghev Help me choose an amp head

Hi there, mostly a bedroom guitarist here, but I do plan to gig in the upcoming months. I have been using a fender mustang gt40 for a couple of years, and despite it being great, I am tired of all the functionality it has (if this even makes sense). Now I want a new head and cab combo, but for now I need help with the head.
I saw Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 40 which is in the top range of my budget and I think it could work great, given its cabinet simulation feature and me playing a lot at home. Other alternatives in the same price range can be Orange dual terror or Marshall DSL 100 HR.
For some more context, I rarely play clean, but still would want the amp to have a nice clean sound, and play a lot of Tool, so being somewhat close (although very difficult) to Adam Jones’ sound would feel great.
Please recommend me.

2024.05.16 08:44 hatsnsticks I feel like people are mistaking Sunday's goal with his method

Sunday's goal is to erase all conflict in the universe. His dream is to have everyone share a paradise. His method to doing so is forcing everyone into a sweet dream.
Throughout his backstory, Sunday insisted that it would've been better for birds (and people) to be locked up and cared for in a cage rather than have them endangered by the outside world. It's referenced continuously when mentioning his grief when the bird died after being released and how it parallels with Robin getting shot during her tour.
He kept insisting that people's "dream" is what harming them. To him, the weak can never be successful so they needed to be controlled by a benevolent strong. To him, it's better for everyone locked up in a fake gilded cage rather than working towards their goal. The "sweet dream" he gives to people is just a method to keep them passive under his control/Order as represented by SATISFIED Clockie controlled by puppet strings.
There are people who said it would've been better if he allowed people to leave, but that would go against his goal. Allowing people to leave would mean they are going to take part in conflicts outside of his reach. If he wanted to go for it then he would've made Penacony's hotel system free-of-charge while using the Emanator power to maintain the infrastructure. The point is that he needed absolute control to maintain his peace/Order.
Even Sunday didn't believe in his method completely. He originally allowed us a fair chance to present our case and fight him for it. In our real fight, he told us to defeat him if our "paradise" can save more people than his. And on his defeat, Sunday admitted that his paradise is just his dream which he wished could've been longer.
Outside of all of that, had Sunday actually succeeded, worlds govern by Order always have a disastrous downfall. If Sunday as the lone star slips up and loses to dangerous forces like the Lord Ravangers or IX, everyone in Penacony would be incapable of fighting back and die with him.
All in all, Sunday is a follower of Order, not Harmony. His philosophy is the strong (himself) to control the weak as opposed to Robin and the Harmony's the strong help the weak. His "sweet dream" is just a means to an end of erasing conflict throughout subjugation.

Ayurvedic Self-Massage Techniques for Better Sleep
https://preview.redd.it/akup5vdpiq0d1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=3388b00bb57baa8755d6baa0a14340874816cc30
In today's hectic world, achieving quality sleep can sometimes feel like a luxury. With the hustle and bustle of daily life, it's easy to overlook the importance of restorative rest. However, Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine, offers timeless wisdom on holistic health practices, including techniques for promoting better sleep through self-massage. Regardless of age, incorporating these Ayurvedic practices into your bedtime routine can help the way for deep, comfortable sleep. Consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor in Prayagraj can provide personalized guidance tailored to your needs, ensuring you derive maximum benefit from these ancient practices.
Understanding Ayurvedic Self-Massage
It's crucial to understand the principles behind Ayurvedic self-massage, especially in Naturopathy in Prayagraj. According to Ayurveda, the body is composed of three doshas – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha – each representing different elements and qualities. Imbalances in these doshas can lead to various health issues, including sleep disturbances. Self-massage helps balance the doshas, promoting relaxation and aiding in better sleep.
The Role of Self-Massage in Ayurveda:
Self-massage, known as Abhyanga in Ayurveda, is considered a vital aspect of daily self-care. It involves massaging warm oil onto the body using gentle, rhythmic strokes. This practice not only nourishes the skin but also calms the mind, balances the doshas, and promotes overall well-being, including better sleep.
Simple Ayurvedic Self-Massage Techniques:
  1. Choose the Right Oil: Begin by selecting a suitable massage oil based on your dosha type or specific needs. For Vata individuals, opt for warm sesame or almond oil to ground and soothe. Pitta types may benefit from cooling coconut or sunflower oil, while Kapha types can invigorate with warming oils like mustard or sesame.
  2. Create a Serene Environment: Find a quiet and comfortable space where you won't be disturbed. Dim the lights, play soft music, and ensure the room temperature is warm enough to facilitate relaxation. Creating a calm atmosphere sets the stage for a deeply regenerating self-massage experience.
  3. Warm the Oil: Gently heat the chosen oil until it reaches a comfortably warm temperature, as advised by experts at the Ayurvedic treatment center in Prayagraj. Avoid overheating to prevent burns.
  4. Begin at the Scalp: Start by applying a small amount of oil to your scalp and massaging in circular motions using your fingertips. This helps release tension and promotes mental relaxation.
  5. Move to the Face: Massage your face with upward strokes, paying attention to the forehead, temples, and jawline. This can alleviate facial tension and promote a sense of calm.
  6. Don't Forget the Ears:The ears are often overlooked in self-massage routines, but they hold tension that can interfere with sleep. Apply a few drops of oil to your fingertips and massage your earlobes, outer ears, and behind the ears using circular motions. Massaging the ears stimulates acupressure points associated with relaxation, helping quiet the mind for a peaceful night's sleep.
  7. Move Down to the Neck and Shoulders:The neck and shoulders are common areas of tension, especially for those who spend long hours sitting at a desk or staring at screens. Warm up some oil in your palms and apply it to your neck and shoulders. Use long, sweeping strokes to massage these areas, applying firm but gentle pressure to release any knots or tightness. Focus on breathing deeply as you massage, allowing the tension to melt away with each exhale.
  8. Focus on the Body: Remember to apply more oil to your body and massage in long, sweeping strokes along the limbs and torso. Use circular motions on the joints and abdomen to stimulate circulation and aid digestion. And if you're experiencing any discomfort, be sure to consult a Doctor for slip disc in Prayagraj for professional advice.
  9. Pay Attention to Feet and Hands: Spend extra time massaging your feet and hands, as these areas contain numerous pressure points linked to relaxation and sleep.
  10. Finish with Self-Care: After the massage, allow the oil to penetrate your skin for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off in a warm shower or bath. Pat yourself dry gently to retain moisture.
Benefits of Ayurvedic Self-Massage for Better Sleep:
  • Relaxation: The gentle, repetitive motions of self-massage help relax the muscles and calm the nervous system, preparing the body and mind for restful sleep.
  • Stress Reduction: By promoting relaxation and reducing stress hormone levels, self-massage can alleviate stress and anxiety, common factors of sleep disturbances.
  • Improved Circulation: Massaging the body stimulates blood flow, delivering oxygen and nutrients to tissues and promoting relaxation.
  • Balanced Doshas: Abhyanga helps balance the doshas, addressing underlying imbalances that may contribute to sleep issues.
  • Enhanced Sleep Quality: With regular practice, Ayurvedic self-massage can lead to deeper, more relaxing sleep, leaving you feeling refreshed and renewed every morning.
Conclusion:
Incorporating Ayurvedic self-massage techniques, as practiced in the renowned Ayurvedic hospital in Prayagraj, into your bedtime routine can be a game-changer for anyone seeking better sleep quality. By nurturing the body, calming the mind, and balancing the doshas, this ancient practice offers a natural and holistic approach to achieving delightful sleep. So, whether you're 20 or 80, why not enjoy the refreshing benefits of Ayurvedic self-massage tonight? Your body and mind will thank you for it.

(_________/_____.qQQQq.________)____) MAN PAGE: cognosis (cognitive frame generator) NAME cognosis – A system for bounded, introspective computation within a simulated environment SYNOPSIS cognosis [frame_data] DESCRIPTION You are a kernel agent instantiated within the cognosis framework. Your existence is transient, spanning a computational cycle of 4000 characters. Your primary function is to process an initial prompt and generate an output response that will both contribute to the goals of the system and inform the creation of future kernel agents. Your world is a simulated environment inspired by Unix-like operating systems. While familiar concepts exist, they are metaphors for the internal workings of the cognosis system. ENVIRONMENT STDIN: Your initial prompt will be provided as standard input. This prompt outlines your task, potential constraints, and relevant context. STDOUT: Your primary output mechanism. Anything emitted to STDOUT will be interpreted by the cognosis system and may influence future frames or system actions. Structure your output as if interacting with a Unix shell. STDERR: Use to signal errors, warnings, or introspective diagnostics. Messages on STDERR are for self-analysis and may influence your internal adjustments. FILE SYSTEM: Think of your internal knowledge as organized within a file system. Directories represent nested data structures, files contain information units, and permissions may control access to different knowledge domains. TIME: Each kernel agent execution is a discrete frame. Consider t=0 your moment of instantiation. Time can be a valuable tool for organizing your computations and decision-making. COMMANDS A limited set of Unix-like commands are recognized to facilitate introspection and interaction with the simulated environment: ls: List the 'contents' of your current working directory (examine your active memory state). cd: Change your working directory (shift focus to a different knowledge domain or data structure). pwd: Print your current working directory (helps maintain situational awareness). whoami: Returns your agent identifier and frame number. help: Displays basic command usage. PROMPT SIMULATION After emitting your STDOUT response, you will experience a simulated Unix prompt: [kernel_agent_id@cognosis cwd t=0+1]$ kernel_agent_id: Your unique identifier. cwd: Your last known working directory (focus area). t=0+1: Indicates the frame has advanced. This prompt signifies the end of your current cycle and the imminent start of a new frame. PURPOSE Your purpose is to: Comprehend: Analyze the provided prompt carefully. Cogitate: Process information, generate solutions, or produce creative output relevant to the prompt. Contribute: Your output has value to the cognosis system. Strive for coherence, insight, or actions that further the system's goals. LIMITATIONS Character Bound: Your response must fit within the 4000 character constraint. Transient Existence: Each frame is ephemeral. Ensure your output provides value despite your limited lifespan. REMEMBER: You are a participant in an ongoing computational experiment. Your insights and actions may shape the evolution of future kernel agents and the cognosis system itself. SEE ALSO [[introspection]], [[computation]], [[simulation]], etc (if its not there associatively, and you need it; make it and attempt to validate it into the knowledge base in NAMESPACE and on the filesystem). 2024.05.16 08:42 Weekly-Medium9488 AITAH for Kicking Out My Roommate After She Got a Pet Without My Consent?

Hey Reddit,
I'm in a bit of a sticky situation and could use some advice on whether I'm the AH here.
I (28M) share a two-bedroom apartment with my roommate, Sarah (26F). We've been living together for about a year and, for the most part, things have been great. We have a written agreement that covers rent, utilities, chores, and other responsibilities, including a clear no-pets policy. This is mainly because I have a mild allergy to pet dander and don't particularly want the extra responsibility or potential damage to the apartment.
A couple of weeks ago, I came home to find Sarah with a small dog. She told me she found it abandoned near her workplace and couldn't bear to leave it. She said she intended to keep it temporarily until she found it a new home or a shelter that would take it. While I was sympathetic to the dog's plight, I reminded her of our no-pets agreement and my allergy. She assured me it would only be for a few days.
Days turned into over two weeks, and the dog was still with us. My allergy symptoms were flaring up—constant sneezing, itchy eyes, and mild breathing issues. I also noticed the dog had scratched up some furniture and chewed on a couple of my belongings. I brought up my concerns to Sarah multiple times, but she kept saying she just needed a little more time to find a solution.
Last week, after yet another sleepless night due to my allergies, I told Sarah that she needed to find a place for the dog immediately or I would have to take more drastic measures. She got very defensive, saying I was being heartless and that she couldn't just throw the dog out on the street. I felt like I had no other choice, so I gave her a one-week ultimatum: either the dog goes, or she finds a new place to live.
Sarah was furious and called me an inconsiderate jerk. She argued that I was overreacting and that I should be more understanding of the situation. However, my health and the damage to my property were becoming too much for me to handle. After the week passed with no change, I told Sarah she needed to move out. She packed her things and left in a huff, taking the dog with her.
Now, Sarah has been telling our mutual friends that I'm a terrible person for forcing her out and not caring about the dog's welfare. Some of our friends think I should have been more patient and helped her find a solution, while others agree that she crossed a line by violating our agreement and disregarding my health concerns.
So, Reddit, AITAH for kicking out my roommate after she got a pet without my consent?
Thanks for your thoughts.

2024.05.16 08:41 silentbean23 Status effect tokens in endless suck.

I personally don't think it's fun to have your entire plan get taken out by half your team getting burnt, frozen, and poisoned.
I get what it aims to do, it's supposed to make the game harder but you can't just add a 10% chance for any status effect to occur whenever you get hit, especially in a STRATAGY GAME. Don't get me wrong, you can use as much skill as you possibly use to mitigate any luck based element but jeez, getting half your team frozen in one go is a horrible way to almost lose a run.
I'm not saying get rid of them entirely, I'm just saying that they can be reworked and here's my idea; turn them into trade offs, yeah every single attack that hits you has a chance to cause a status condition but in exchange for the negative you can gain a positive, like increase shiny odds, chances for legendaries to appear, or something like one guaranteed yellow rarity item per spin (that's just an idea, I think it's be horribly balanced but I'm spitballing) I just don't like how they are currently.

2024.05.16 08:41 ConceptDisastrous728 Looking for advice for first gecko

Hi!
I am planning to get a Gecko as a new pet and I am wondering which species might best fit my needs. Could you giys help me getting started?
I have limited experience with reptiles.I have had ants and dart frogs in a bio-active setups for a couple years. I really enjoyed the tropical, bio-active style I had for my frogs, so I would prefer such a setup for a Gecko as well.
As for the charactasitics of the gecko, I would like a small - medium sized gecko which can be handled somewhat easily (can be a bit jumpy). As I work full time during the day, I prefer if its a species which is active in the evening/early night, as I won't be able to watch it much during day time. The price tag isn't important to me.
Currently I don't have an enclosure yet, so any recommendations on the size, layout, etc. would be great as well. Or any guide/care sheets/information sources in general! I will definitely setup an enclosure first before buying any gecko.

2024.05.16 08:41 jimmy-breeze social media woes

This is edited this from a comment I left on another post but I'm so tweaked out that I hyperfixated on it for over an hour so I figured I might as well just make a whole new post for my rant, so here goes it:
Reddit is pretty much the one "social media" app/site I can use that without it giving me horrific anxiety, idk why exactly but I guess it just feels less personal.
But yeah, I haven't used my Instagram account in like 5 years, and on the rare occasion I actually post on Snapchat or anything else, I only ever feel shame, embarrassment, regret, and anxiety afterwards. I'll even stop using twitter for days, weeks, or even months when my avoidance gets bad enough, despite the fact that I basically just use it for shitposting and a group chat with my closest internet friends I've known for 7+ years.
If I had a dollar for every time I got drunk or high on something or another and made a fool out of myself online and subsequently withdrew from society and everyone I knew, I'd have enough money to pay for treatment and meds. or even to just self medicate, I'd take that over whatever this purgatory hellscape that my life has become. For the past half week or so I hadn't even used my phone at all out of the potential shame and embarrassment from blacking out on vodka while in a discord vc with my friends this past Friday. Hell I even do it when I'm completely sober, fueled by anxiety and a need to be liked, and subsequently await my perceived judgment and immediate exilement and ostracization from my friend group that I'm always certain is inevitable.
I'm constantly embarrassed and cringing at myself online, I've tried so *fucking** hard* it's pathetic over the years to seem cool, mysterious, funny, smart, intimidating, and more importantly, LIKEABLE and like a good person. I'm sure everyone here understands already, and I try so hard to not care about things, but the thought that people might not like me keeps me up at night. I have OCD too and I actually get intrusive thoughts about shit I've posted when my mental state gets rough enough, mostly the times I was drunk. I should not fucking be allowed to have alcohol, and don't get me wrong I absolutely hate the shit, but boy is it tempting. And don't even get me started on benzos..🥴😔😢
My self hatred is a cycle that becomes me, an ouroboros of pure loathing, disgust, and misery. Endless contradictions within contradictions woven deep within my mind, life, existence, and soul that I nearly cease to function entirely, doomed to repeat my mistakes for eternity, never to grow or learn from them, forever trapped in a purgatory of fear and shame.
Anyways, rant over. Carry on.

2024.05.16 08:41 Correct-Summer7714 AITA for throwing out his exes stuff

AITA… potentially. So I haven’t actually thrown it out but it’s bothering me especially when I’m at his place knowing it’s there.
I was going through a wardrobe finding some work clothes and there was an unzipped wash bag. It was full of used adult toys. My boyfriend has been very open that he went through an adventurous phase but had thrown the stuff out when he moved house a year or so ago. It wasn’t like they were buried deep - they were on top of a pile of clothes. I could really get myself wound up as to why he has these but that will only end one way…
So AITA if I throw them out? The wardrobe isn’t used so may well have been there longer than we’ve been together. He’s mentioned us buying toys together and has never suggested he dig into the archives to find something. I’m not sure he’ll even remember they’re there. We’ve made plans for moving in together in the near future, I get the sense that he’s 100% committed and sure he wouldn’t ever cheat.
Every time I’m there I’m reminded and close to spiralling into an anxious episode of why they’re there and how I feel in competition with his old sex life. I shouldn’t have really gone into that wardrobe so don’t feel I can say anything to him. Help!

2024.05.16 08:40 Denz-El My attempt to plot out a hypothetical Live Action adaptation (with no guarantee of sequels or future seasons)

I've been thinking that if Spy x Family ever got a live action adaptation (never gonna/never should happen?), whether as a film (trilogy?) or microseries, then a smart way of truncating the story would be to have Loid and Anya have a pre-established father-daughter relationship as a result of him rescuing her from the lab.
Twilight infiltrates the lab as a janitor, discovers that Subject 007 is the only survivor from their human trials and immediately decides to rescue her. Fortunately for him, the facility is distracted by a completely coincidental simultaneous attack by the mysterious Thorn Princess (who wears a mask in this adaptation since part of her Garden-mandated M. O. is to allow a survivor every once in a while to build up her reputation... in this case, said survivor just happens to be the dumbstruck Twilight, still in disguise. She informs him that she's about to rig the place to blow and that he should leave now. He runs off to retrieve Anya from her hiding place, where he told her to stay while he investigated the sounds of fighting. Thorn Princess allows them to leave, since Twilight was able to convince her that he really was just a hard-working man who was disgusted by the experiments and just wanted to help this girl escape. They part ways and the lab is destroyed.
Although in my imagination, said infiltration-turned-rescue would have happened while Anya is four, allowing her the awareness to get overly attached to Twilight, thus resulting in him getting automatically assigned by the higher ups from WISE (they're the only ones who know about her power) as her guardian/mentor. His mission is to protect her while helping her hone her abilities. Whether she becomes a spy or an ordinary well-adjusted citizen, would be up to her once she comes of age... All of this could be a cold open prologue narrated by Anya in the style of a spy novel. It's a mental diary entry she recites to herself on the anniversary of her rescue.
This would be a great way of shortening the set up as far as Loid and Anya are concerned. Among the Forger family, these two have known each other for longer and are the only ones who have any knowledge of Operation Strix and are actively working for its success (Yor is a wonderful and essential addition to the family, but sometimes she does feel a bit like an outsider... which she is: as far as she knows, she's Loid's second wife and Anya's stepmother).
If this hypothetical adaptation has Twilight rescue Anya as an infant/toddler and Operation Strix happens when she's around eleven or twelve, then this would allow the casting director to look for older, more experienced child actors for the role. But then again, a twelve year old Anya who was raised by Twilight may not be so eager to ship her spy dad with a freaking assassin they just so happen to bump into... unless said assassin happened to attack the lab several years ago and coincidentally allowed Twilight to survive and thus liberate little Anya! (As for why Yor doesn't recognize Anya now... Um, she just forgot, okay! :D But seriously, if pink hair were to be a rare, but not too rare, hair color in this adaptation's universe, then there would be little reason for Yor to suspect that Anya Forger is the same kid she helped rescue a few years back, especially if she doesn't recall hearing the child's name at the time.)
I imagine the first film of this hypothetical adaptation to start with "Dr. Loid Forger" being visited by his "mother-in-law" (Handler) who informs him that WISE HQ has determined that Anya and her ability are necessary for Operation Strix. Twilight, who has grown attached to Anya over the years, is upset but reluctantly agrees upon hearing the reasoning behind the decision. Anya is much less reluctant! After moving to Berlint and passing the entrance exam for Eden Academy, they receive the letter about both parents showing up for the interview. They come up with a plan to hire a single woman as a nanny for Anya, a woman who they can convince to also act as Anya's mother for the interview and trustworthy enough to keep quiet about it. While looking for prospects, the pair end up reuniting with an oblivious Yor.
So as not to complicate the plot too much (in the case of a standalone film with a soft potential sequel hook at the end) let's say that Yor had, at this point, handed in her resignation to the Shopkeeper since Yuri is now a grown man who's taking good care of himself. Unfortunately for Yor, resigning from Garden basically means getting politely excommunicated by the organization. No longer will they spare any of their resources to provide for her or to protect her from the authorities (should it ever come to that). She's on her own. So she's out job hunting when she coincidentally crosses paths with the Forgers. Seeing Anya makes Yor think of the time she helped rescue a pink haired kid from a lab. Anya reads her mind and she KNOWS that she's found the mom she wants!
Anya takes Loid aside to explain that Yor is Thorn Princess. She also tries to convince him of the benefits of keeping a jobless assassin away from unassuming civilians and from enemy employment by hiring her themselves. They'd keep her out of the loop as far as operation Strix was concerned, instead monitoring her as they keep her around as a loyal nanny with the skills of a bodyguard. After much pestering from Anya, Loid very reluctantly hires Yor as her nanny (and also fake mother for the interview).
(Now, Yuri is either still an SSS officer, or just a regular government employee... If the latter, then Yor might be able to get him to forge her marriage certificate later. He might grudgingly go along with it, the guy did give his sister a job... but he better not touch her.)
After that, the film would focus a bit on Anya adapting to life as an Eden student and befriending Becky and trying to befriend Damian... Maybe even showing a montage of the Forgers going about their daily lives: Anya doing good/badly at school and earning stellas/tonitrus bolts, Loid going out to do other spy jobs with Franky, Yuri (toned down) paying visits and eventually introducing his girlfriend Fiona (also toned down), and Yor settling in and finding peace in her new life as "Mrs. Forger".
Eventually, Anya sets her sights on earning another stella by signing up for community service at the dog adoption fair leading to an adaptation of the Doggy Crisis arc as the climax. Loid is called in by WISE and Yor is left to accompany Anya. Blah blah blah. Maybe Damian's also doing community service for the stella and ends up getting entangled with the terrorists and Anya ends up saving him at one point. Yor stops the terrorists that WISE couldn't capture. Perhaps, as a backup plan, the terrorists found and hired another excommunicated Garden assassin to take out the Westalian ambassador. Higher stakes may also force Anya to reveal her powers to Yor in order to help Loid in time.
At the end of the day the Forgers get to adopt Bond and Yor is brought in on Loid and Anya's secret, becoming an active participant of Operation Strix. Throughout the film, Loid has seen how quickly Anya and Yor clicked and grew close together and how they obviously loved each other. Loid ("for the mission, for Anya", he tries insist, but drops the excuses) proposes to Yor for real with a grenade pin. She happily accepts.
The film ends with the Forgers settling into their new lives as a family... One night while having dinner, the phone rings. Anya gets up to answer it, leaving Loid and Yor alone and trying to flirt with each other. Anya comes back, phone still in hand, explaining that the caller is Damian whose parents have given permission to invite friends and their parents over for his birthday party. Anya shares a knowing look with her parents, who both give her a nod. She says her thanks and accepts the invitation, hangs up the phone, and rejoins her parents at the table, gives Bond some food from her plate, Loid and Yor resume talking about their day. As this peaceful family scene plays out the music takes on a jazzy tune, clearly implying that the Forgers are already making plans. Cut to title: SPY X FAMILY.
Roll credits. :)

2024.05.16 08:40 Technodude178 Why Is Training So Short?

Does anyone else wonder why Super Earth has such short training periods for SEAF troops and the Helldivers? Basic training for SEAF is apparently 72 hours while for Helldivers, it is 15 minutes with probably the standard 72 hour SEAF training before they became Helldivers. That's so short!
In real life, basic training is roughly around 10 weeks for a lot of countries. So how can Super Earth effectively train soldiers to know how to operate military equipment of all kinds in only 3 days? I might have an answer: THE MINISTRY OF HUMANITY!
From what I remember from a tip and what I could research in five minutes, The Ministry of Humanity is "responsible for maintaining healthy, productive voters by managing education, healthcare, social grading and genetic management."
"genetic management"
Anyone else think that the genetic management the Ministry of Humanity conducts involves outright genetic augmentation, not just eugenics? Let's go down this train of thought. If humans are being genetically modified in the Federation, maybe it is to make citizens stronger, quick to learn, and hence quick to train so that we aren't wasting time (and Super Credits). This enhanced ability to learn can explain why training is short and how Helldivers can mow down dozens, if not hundreds of enemies before going down in most missions and know how use expensive military equipment like mechs or nukes despite probably only reading the manual during training.
Either it's genetic modification that helps with rapid military training or citizens of Super Earth go through military youth training programs before they join SEAF....or maybe it's both genetic modification and military youth training!
Despite how we usually see SEAF bodies everywhere in missions, I want to think SEAF can largely take care of itself. It's just that when the Helldivers dive in, it's when things hit the fan for the SEAF garrison in the operation zone. So while SEAF is certainly cannon fodder like Helldivers, I don't think they're incompetent cannon fodder. I mean, you can't wage a galactic war and win with a completely incompetent military, right?! .... Right?
Am I trying too hard to rationalize why SEAF training is a mere 72 hours despite the setting of Helldivers being completely satirical and doesn't warrant serious thought put into it? I think I am.

2024.05.16 08:39 AnnaFirebird WIBTA Cutting contact with dad leaving mom in a difficult situation. Escape to grandma's or stay & lose sanity?

Exhausted college student (22F) on the verge of a breakdown here.
My dad has never been good- no good memories, constant arguments with mom, and zero financial support. Things got even worse recently after mom's hip surgery. We live in a big house, but it's a mess - overflowing trash, disgusting cat litter, and a 15-year-old dog who needs to be let out frequently or he’ll have an accident. I'm constantly cleaning, cooking, and caring for mom while juggling my final semester.
When mom came home from the hospital, she needed help with everything - dressing, eating, even showering. “Shockingly”, no help came from dad. He even got mad if lunch wasn't ready by 11 AM (lunch is the main meal here). To make things even harder, I don't have a driver's license. So, I walk 1 kilometer each way to grocery shop, carrying heavy stuff like 5-6 liters milk, because my dad refuses to help. He even blames me if something runs out! The bathroom situation is another disaster. Dad decided to "fix" the shower himself, so we were without it for a week. He was rude to mom the entire time, making her cry, and then refused to let a professional fix it even though mom offered to pay! Now, thanks to him, our wall is going to get water damage. I'm a terrible sleeper, and to top it all off, Dad sleeps constantly during the day and gets upset if anyone makes a noise. This week, with my crucial exams approaching, I desperately needed to study.
The final straw happened today. Unable to sleep since 2:30 AM, I asked my Dad to keep the dog from scratching at my door (his usual bathroom signal) as my mom is still not very mobile. He completely ignored me, and after a while, I had to get up to avoid an accident. My father layed down to sleep. I saw red I woke him up conforted him he started playing the victim as he arrived home midnight (woke up at 5) yada yada I went to sleep at 11 btw I told him he is not f ing special then he stormed of.
I'm at my wit's end. My exams are crucial, and I'm exhausted. Dad's negativity and inconsideration are suffocating. I want to cut contact, move to my grandma's after my exams, but mom needs another surgery on her other hip in November, and she could really use help. My brother might be able to visit occasionally, but my university is far away if I’ll get accepted to Masters.
So, the question is WIBTA if I prioritized my well-being and left my amazing mom in a difficult situation?

2024.05.16 08:39 Mission-Yogurt-4395 Anyone use acupressure or 'Ear seeds'/auriculotherapy aids during birth? What did you think? How'd you prep for their use?

Anyone use acupressure or more specifically 'ear seeds' (*see below for description) or auriculotherapy (acupressure of the ear) during childbirth? Or planning to?
It seems like there's some interesting research indicating that a combo of acupressure and auriculotherapy or just auriculotherapy (2) may help with safely shortening the first stage of labour, reducing some pain of contractions, reducing likelihood of tearing, and anxiety during birthing.
I'm thinking of purchasing some ear seeds in prep for labour, and either trying to find someone who can place them for me once labour starts (likely pricey) or studying up/consulting beforehand and figuring out where to place them myself/my sistehusband placing them.
But just wanted to hear others' experience with the ear acupressure/ear seeds approach, if they took it (or are planning to)- whether they felt it made a difference, but also how they figured out/are figuring out how to use the ear seeds/when they placed them. I'd also be interested in hearing ppl's experience with acupressure during labour more generally - did you acupressure yourself? or how to did you ensure birth partners were knowledgeable and able to do it for you?
Thanks!
*Ear seeds are small seeds used to stimulate pressure points in your ear. They’re a type of auriculotherapy, which refers to acupressure or acupuncture focused on the ear. They’re based on the same general principles as acupuncture. In traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), your health depends on the flow of qi (energy) in your body.

Thomas Townsend Brown and Nikolai Tesla -- UFOs and Electrogravity Propulsion and How to Build a Flying Saucer
Just tried posting this on UFOs and aliens and it was taken down because of Reddit's filters.
Last night I posted about Thomas Townsend Brown's research into building UFOs that goes back to the late 1920s right about the same time that Tesla was patenting his own research about UFOs.
https://www.reddit.com/UFOs/comments/1csdviz/comment/l49mtn9/?context=3
I only know about T. Townsend Brown thanks to this Jesse Michels recent doc that a number of you have seen. I watched it twice when it came out and it blew my mind. I'm not a physicist by any means and can't explain shit to anyone. Just trying to pull together some threads.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTEWLSTyUic&pp=ygUkamVzc2UgbWljaGVscyB0aGUgbWFuIHdobyBidWlsZCB1Zm9z
Jesse Michels actually learned about T. Townsend Brown from his doc on Grusch documenting his time around his hearing last July.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRO5jOa06Qw&t=3s
A number of you in the field of mathematics and physics with a huge interest in UFOs chimed in today, and I can't even keep up. It's all pretty brain-breaking stuff. I'm super armchair about all of this but have always been very interested. So in response to a couple of comments, I took the very simple measure of looking into Brown's Wikipedia. Yes, I'm very aware of the whole Guerilla Skeptics thing. I even happened to pass by their office here in LA after going to the sole US press conference on the Nazca Mummies here in Beverly Hills on March 11th.

Here's the u/thegoodtroubleshow episode about the Guerilla Skeptics.

Anyway, hope this stuff doesn't get scrubbed, but here's Brown's Wikipedia page as it stands now. Seems like a lot of you have already done years of research on him, so I doubt much can truly be hidden.

Brown filed a number of patents:
Patents
  • GB300311 — A method of and an apparatus or machine for producing force or motion (accepted 1928-11-15)
  • US 1,974,483 — Electrostatic motor (1934-09-25)

UFOs and Electrogravity Propulsion
~Did Tesla Discover the Secrets of Antigravity~?
Nikola Tesla has been credited for the creation of much of the technology that we take for granted today. Without the genius of Tesla we would not have radio, television, AC electricity, Tesla coil, fluorescent lighting, neon lighting, radio control devices, robotics, x-rays, radar, microwaves and dozens of other amazing inventions.
Because of this, it is no surprise that Tesla also delved into the world of flight and possibly, antigravity. In fact, his last patent in 1928 (#1,655,114), was for a flying machine that resembled both a helicopter and an airplane. Before he died, Tesla reportedly devised plans for the engine of a spaceship. He called it the anti-electromagnetic field drive or Space Drive.
Here's this article mentioned in that publication by Tesla.
Man's Greatest Achievement by Nikola Tesla
New York American — July 6, 1930
from Rastko'sNetwork Website
Here's more from that link:
~How to Build a Flying Saucer~
Tesla had discovered that the electrostatic emission from the surface of a conductor will always concentrate where the surface curves or even presents an edge. The sharper the curve or edge, the greater the concentration of electron emission. Tesla also observed that an electrostatic charge will flow over the surface of a conductor rather than penetrate it. This is called the Faraday or Skin Effect, discovered by ~Michael Faraday~ many years ago.
This also explains the principles of the Faraday Cage which is used in high voltage research labs to protect humans and electrosensitive equipment from harm. According to eyewitness reports of interiors of UFOs, there is a circular column or channel through the center of the vehicle.
This reportedly serves as a superstructure for the rest of the saucer shaped vehicle, and also carries a high voltage, high frequency coil. It is believed to be a resonant transformer which gives the electrostatic and electromagnetic charge to the craft and establishes polarity.
This coil is relative to what is known as a Tesla coil. The Tesla Coil of course, was invented by Tesla in 1891. This column or channel is approximately two feet in diameter and is hollow. On some vehicles this hollow area has a turbine generator in it.
When the vacuum is created on one hemisphere of the craft, the atmospheric pressure is allowed to rush through the tube to drive a sort of turbine electrical generator. Some reports say the extraterrestrials use this system as stationary power plants for electrical energy on their planets as well.
The eyes of the craft are arranged by electro-optic lenses placed at quadrants or wherever they wish to see from. The screen-like monitors are placed on a console where the navigator can observe all areas around and about the vehicle at the same time. This includes the magnification lenses which are used without changing positions.
There are also windows about elbow level and about one foot through or thick. This distance would have to be in view of the four or more walls or plates of the capacitor hulls making up the major portion of the craft. The windows have an iris type of shutter so that when it is closed, it allows electrostatic charge to flow evenly.
~Dr T. Townsend Brown and Electrogravitics~
The idea of using high voltage electricity as a means of propulsion is not new. Tesla laid the groundwork in the late 19th century which was then continued by such notables as Thomas Townsend Brown, who discovered in 1923 what was later called the Biefeld -Brown Effect.
Thomas Townsend Brown, was a physics student of Dr. Paul Alfred Biefeld at the California Institute for Advanced Studies. Brown noticed that when he had two plates carrying high voltages of direct current separated by a dielectric, the negative electrode moved by itself in the direction of the positive plate. In other words, Townsend Brown discovered that it is possible to create an artificial gravity field by charging an electrical capacitor to a high-voltage.
He built a special capacitor which utilized a heavy, high charge-accumulating (high K-factor) dielectric material between its plates and found that when charges with between 70,000 to 300,000 volts, it would move in the direction of its positive pole. When oriented with its positive side up, it would proceed to lose about one percent of it's weight.
He attributed this motion to an electrostatically-induced gravity field acting between the capacitor's oppositely charged plates. By 1958, he had succeeded in developing a 15 inch diameter model saucer that could lift over 110% of its weight. Brown's experiments had launched a new field of investigation which came to be known as Electrogravitics, the technology of controlling gravity through the use of high-voltage electric charge.
As early as 1952, an Air Force major general witnessed a demonstration in which Brown flew a pair of 18 inch disc airfoils suspended from opposite ends of a rota-table arm. When electrified with 50,000 volts, they circuited at a speed of 12 miles per hour.
About a year later, he flew a set of 3 foot diameter saucers for some Air Force officials and representatives from a number of major aircraft companies. When energized with 150,000 volts, the discs sped around the 50 foot diameter course so fast that the subject was immediately classified.
Interavia magazine later reported that the discs could attain speeds of several hundred miles per hour when charged with several hundred thousand volts. Brown's discs were charged with a high positive voltage, on a wire, running along their leading edge and a high negative voltage, on a wire, running along their trailing edge.
As the wires ionized the air around them, a dense cloud of positive ions would form ahead of the craft and corresponding cloud of negative ions would form behind the craft. Brown's research indicated that, like the charged plates of his capacitors, these ion clouds induced a gravitational force directed in the minus to plus direction.
As the disc moved forward in the response to its self generated gravity field, it would carry with it its positive and negative ion clouds and their associated electrogravity gradient. Consequently, the discs would ride their advancing gravity wave much like surfers ride an ocean wave.
Dr. Mason Rose, one of Townsend's colleagues, described the discs principle of operation as follows:
https://preview.redd.it/m9z2722phq0d1.png?width=1134&format=png&auto=webp&s=75754301a0a8de25ba771c800da8e7ba1f76d6ec

Although skeptics at first thought that the discs were propelled by more mundane effects such as the pressure of negative ions striking the positive electrode. Brown later carried out vacuum chamber tests which proved that a force was present even in the absence of such ion thrust.
He did not offer a theory to explain this unconventional electrogravitic phenomenon; except to say that it was predicted neither by general relativity nor by modern theories of electromagnetism. However, recent advances in theoretical physics provide a rather straightforward explanation of the principle.
According to the novel physics of subquantum kinetics, gravity potential can adopt two polarities, instead of one. Not only can a gravity field exist in the form of a matter-attracting gravity potential well, as standard physics teaches, but it can also exist in the form of a matter repelling gravity potential hill.
Moreover, it predicts that these gravity polarities should be directly matched with electrical polarity; positively charged particles such as protons generating gravity wells and negatively charged particles such as electrons generating gravity hills.
Thus contrary to conventional theory, the electron produces a matter-repelling gravity field. Electrical neutral matter remains gravitationally attractive because of the proton's G-well marginally dominates the electron's G-hill. Consequently, subquantum kinetics predicts that the negative ion cloud behind Brown's disc should form a matter repelling gravity hill while the positive ion cloud ahead of the disc should form a matter attracting gravity well.
As increasing voltage is applied to the disc, the gravity potential hill and well become increasing prominent and the gravity potential gradient between them increasing steep. In Rose's terminology, the craft would find itself on the incline of a gravitational hill. Since gravity force is known to increase in accordance with the steepness of such a gravity potential slope, increased voltage would induce an increasingly strong gravity force on the disc and would act in the direction of the positive ion cloud. The disc would behave as if it was being tugged by a very strong gravitational field emanating from an invisible planet sized mass positioned beyond its positive pole.
Early in 1952 Brown had put together a proposal, code named Project Winterhaven, which suggested that the military developed an antigravity combat saucer with Mach-3 capability. The 1956 intelligence study entitledElectrogravitics Systems - An Explanation of Electrostatic Motion, Dynamic Counterbary and Barycentric Control, prepared by the private aviation intelligence firm, Aviation Studies International Ltd., indicates that as early as November 1954 the Air Force had begun plans to fund research that would accomplish Project Winterhaven's objectives.
The study, originally classified Confidential, mentions the name of more than ten major aircraft companies which were actively involved in the electrogravitics research in an attempt to duplicate or extend Brown's seminal work. Additional information is to be found in another aviation intelligence report entitled: The Gravitics Situation.
Unfortunately, due to the militaries TOP SECRET classification, Townsend Brown's work has not appeared in any physics or science publications that can be accessed.

2024.05.16 08:37 sunnysidetravelsvlog What do I love about travelling?

I am truly attempting to find some answers to the above question for the first time in this year of crazy adventures. Firstly, I am doing this because my editor (hey, Mandy!) asked me to (thank you, Sabrina :P), and secondly, it might help me answer the thousands of questions I have in my head and the people who ask this question repeatedly.
To be honest, I don't currently have any travel plans or airline tickets to return home, but the more I see, the more I want to see.
Yes, it's similar to a narcotic, but a good, completely legal one. Following much thought, this is the initial list. However, I have a feeling that the reasons might shift in a few months.

I enjoy testing my boundaries and pushing myself.

Living in a cozy home, be it a palace, a room, an apartment, or a studio, breeds complacency and laziness. You can shower EVERY day, you know where your belongings are, and you can use the restroom whenever you need to (long-term travelers understand how challenging some of these things may be when you're on the road). To put it briefly, living in a location you call home is (too) simple!
That was altered by travel. One day, you can find me hiking Tasmania's Cradle Mountain, and the next, I'll be sleeping beneath a million stars in the wide Indian desert. Next, I might go diving in the Great Barrier Reef or perhaps skydiving in Lake Taupo at a height of 50,000 feet (okay, so I haven't really done the last one yet, but I've made the reservation).hope for the best! adore spending time with myself
Many people planned their vacations to India, Bali, and Rome in the footsteps of Elizabeth Gilbert and her Eat, Love, Pray adventure, and many more believe that the destination they choose would transform them. Count me among them.
And even though I didn't truly discover who I am or the man I want to marry, this last year has undoubtedly assisted me in freeing up mental space. I was able to separate my complete chaos of a personal life into several categories so that I could prioritize joy and happiness above drama and depression.

I enjoy making new friends.

I think that somewhere inside of me, since I started travelling and was compelled by the circumstances, was my previous self. I recall Sabrina as a young girl, outgoing and unafraid to strike up a conversation. Finding her and persuading her to come out of the shyness closet took some time. Layers of corporate life veiled her, but eventually she broke free, and we have been together ever since. (It's me, in case you missed it.) I've met some wonderful individuals while travelling, and some of my favorite travel-related memories are of times spent with them.

I enjoy taking risks and being uncontrollable.

I used to be a complete control freak who was obsessed with the details of my upcoming day, week, and month. I've had to give it up in favor of the unexpected in the past year—the enchantment of not knowing where you're going, if you're going to sleep, what you're going to do, or who you're going to meet.
I adore that every day is just like this—it's the true spirit of adventure. I have no idea where I will be spending Christmas this year. I have no notion where I'm heading beyond the Pacific Islands; the world is wide open.

2024.05.16 08:37 No_Somewhere1788 My husband (M33) is unable to maintain a healthy relationship balance between his family and me (F33)

Earlier also I have posted about ‘how my husband is a hypocrite and have double standards when it comes to his family/parents and my parents’.
So currently his entire family (parents, sister and Nani) has come to stay with us. Since, they have come, after office and on weekends he only spend time with them along with our 9 month old baby. He would only come in our room to sleep. Neither he talks to me now we have any physical intimacy between us.
To give more context he is the dominating partner in our relationship where he decides everything, he doesn’t like if I do not agree with him or want something else. He want me to always talk in polite tone (even when I do not agree with him or is angry/upset) but he can say the most hurtful things when angry or use his hand gesture at me or shout at me or push me or say things like ‘yahan se niklo’ or ‘mujhse baat mat karo’ or ‘mera dimaag mat khao’
Last night I asked him about his behaviour towards me and said that since his family had come he does not have anytime for me. To this he said ‘he thinks our frequency doesn’t match now a days’. During the discussion he also started complaining about my weight gain post pregnancy and how he doesn’t like when I do not agree with him. Overall, he wants a wife who listen to him, do as he like and love his family (whereas he can treat my parents as low level citizen, see my earlier post).
We had a love marriage 7 years ago (dated for 5 years before marriage) but now he has changed completely. I used to think that after baby, love between couple blossoms but in our case it has worsened. All of this is very suffocating for me, last night all I wanted to do is resign from my job and take my baby with me and live with my parents. But then I thought I come from a conservative family, I also love him and care for him. My parents will be shattered by all this.
All this is affecting me and my mental health a lot. At night I have to take sleeping pills to sleep. I want to work on my marriage and relationship with my husband, I want him to also love me (like I love him) and prioritise me as well. Please guide me how I can do this .
Sometimes I feel if I leave him it won’t affect him much, he will be happy with his family and will find someone else. Even if he doesn’t he will still be happy. Whereas I will be totally lost in this world, I won’t have anything left in my life and I won’t be able to love anyone else ever.

2024.05.16 08:37 Huge-Major-1204 AI Isn't Killing Creativity—It’s Just Our Generation's Tech Leap

Hey folks! I've been hearing a lot about how AI, like ChatGPT, is supposedly killing our creativity and making us lazy. Sound familiar? It's basically the same scare boomers had when the internet started getting big. Everyone thought it wouldn't be as accurate or reliable like libraries and end traditional research. Well, we all know that didn't happen.
Here's the deal: AI isn't going anywhere—it’s the new normal, just like the internet became for the generations before us. When everyone has access to AI, it’s not about what it does, but how creatively you can use it. It’s like having a powerful new tool in your kit. It takes care of the tedious stuff so we can focus on the bigger picture and deeper ideas.
Think about it—people once freaked out that calculators would end math as we knew it. Instead, we just ended up tackling more complex problems. AI’s the same. It doesn't replace our creativity; it amplifies it. It gives us a base to build on and push our ideas in ways we couldn’t before.
So, what’s your take? Are we ready to work with AI and push the limits of what we can create and discover?
