2024.05.15 18:50 Little_Goal5826 Knowing the truth

Hi All,
Been here for over 5 months now.
Long story short. Wife (31F) of 5 years cheated on me (27M) with a co-worker in September - December 2023. We have 1 child together, and I have a stepson, which is her little boy from previous relationship. My daughter is 2, and her son is 7.
She cheated because she was lonely, she had shit going on and never bothered dealing with it, instead she stepped out and done something that made her feel better about herself.
We’ve both done IC, and she realised that if she was ever unhappy in a relationship, rather than voicing it, she stepped out as it was easier. She took the route of a coward, damaging me and the kids in the process.
I think she didn’t realise the consequences of her actions until the kids asked if me and her will be breaking up, which was like a stab to the heart for her.
I had a lot of TT throughout the discover, but she says it’s all out.
She cut contact immediately with AP when it came out. She quit her job immediately and now works in a woman only office, she’s been giving me her phone, all of it. She begs and cries for me not to leave her, and is showing true remorse for her actions.
The only thing that’s stopping me from fully committing to R is, do I know all the truth?, as I have this feeling that this isn’t the first time she had cheated on me. To give you some context:
While this was unraveling, somebody that she hasn’t spoke to in about 10 years apparently, sent her a message on Instagram saying “Hey, just wanted to reach out and apologise about how I treated you, I guess I’m just apologising before karma catches up”. She had shown me the message as soon as she received it, but said that it was weird as she hadn’t spoken to him in like 10 years. She wasn’t even friends with the guy on IG, and few hours later, he deleted the message along with the request and blocked her.
Then a few days ago, another of her Ex’s that used to be her old lover, from about 10 years ago again, reached out to her with a waving hand on Facebook. Again, last convo they had based on her fb messages was back in 2020, and it was just a memory she sent him of him with her cat when they were together.
When this was all happening, I’ve also seen that she spoke to another Ex back in 2021 via snap, as the chat was there, but again, she said that it was probably when she was replying to him on his story or something (then I find that all of his photos, she liked on socials in that timeframe).
We’ve been together for 5 years, and married for 1. I knew of these people as she used to tell me who her previous partners were as this was something I wanted to know when we got together.
She is so so so adamant that she didn’t cheat on me prior to this. She begs for me not to leave her, and that she’ll do anything to fix her fuckup, and that she won’t make it without me.
We have been through a lot together, we lost 2 babies, her dad was diagnosed with Cancer recently again.
I’ve been looking after myself, have put on weight, gained loads of muscle, started running, looking after my skincare, and actually started to get a lot of attention from women. I am successful, work in Cyber Security, and get paid really well.
I just can’t seem to move forward with R until I have heard every lie, but all I get told is - “you know everything, I have told you everything, there is literally nothing else for me to say”, how am I suppose to believe that? How am I suppose to believe that she didn’t cheat before?, I can’t!, too many people are popping up randomly, apologising, reaching out, why?
She says she doesn’t know why, and that she can’t control what other people do. I’m so lost, I do want to make it work with her, I really do, but I can’t without knowing that there’s nothing left to say and without knowing that I know everything.
We talked about polygraphs and stuff, but apparently they’re not reliable as apparently somebody can tell the truth and still fail and vice versa.
I don’t know what else I can tell her to reassure that whatever has happened in the past, I just need to know between us, so I can process and put it on the shelf, where it will stay, and then fully commit to making R work with her, as she’s really, really trying.
This sucks so much. I am only 27, and the things I’ve experienced in life, I wonder to myself, what did I do in my previous life to deserve all of this pain…

I've loved him for years. We had been friends, discovered we were in love with each other but tried so hard to avoid it. Around 2 years ago, we finally told each we loved each other but at the time, I had already moved 8 hours away😭 We stayed as friends and were there for each other until we felt the feelings coming back and we ended up taking a break from each other. Fast forward to October last year, we finally started dating fr. Long distance but it honestly didn't feel like it. We talked everyday and my love for him grew as stronger as ever.
I loved and still love him sooo much. He is the love of my life and we even made future plans, plans to move somewhere and start up our lives together. It's crazy cos there was no physical kinda thing or sx involved and still I was emotionally and sxually attracted to him. Ofc, we had issues but it always brought us closer or so I thought lol Fast forward to his birthday early this year, I went out my way to compose the most meaningful message, created a playlist with songs that reminded me of him, bought presents with hopes of giving it to him as we have plans to see each other later this year. Ohh, I even got a cake for us to cut together on ft 💀
Few days after his birthday, communication started to reduce and then he ghosted me lol. I didn't believe it and I made excuses for him. Messaged him like a fool, begging him to come back to me. I wept, had a panic attack and even considered ending it all cos what was life without him? He had become my best friend, my lover, the one I tell everything to, the one I had built my whole life and future around and I loved him even more than I did myself. Fast forward to over a month of not hearing from him, he finally messaged to apologise but didn't give me a reason as to why he left. Instead he said we were perfect but perfection isn't enough (like huhhh?) I thought I was starting to heal but my heart still breaks.
My heart is still shattered and I fear I could never stop loving him or even be able to fall in love with someone else. It's really sad but I really do want to h*te him if possible because he really has hurt me. Seeing other people's stories on here definitely helps me not feel alone but I wonder if things would ever change. Everyone's telling me to move on but no one's telling me how to. How do I move on from the love of my life? The one my heart yearns and calls for?😔

2024.05.15 16:48 Lux_Mortis2 Angeline

I was wondering if anyone had anymore information about Angeline! I am autistic and I am hyper fixating on this made up character but I really love the idea of her and I just want to write fan fiction for what I think the books could be about! I also marked this as a spoiler incase someone new hasn’t seen the episode yet!!! I know it’s minor spoilers cause it’s focused on a made up fictional character, but better to be safe than sorry!
I know in episode six we get these little bits of information
Angeline is a light blue demon with blue hair, red eyes and red horns. She wears a lavender dress with black boots and black gloves as well as a pink heart choker.
Angeline doesn’t have parents but there is a popular fan theory that Hadeus, the genderqueer demon emperor is one of her illegitimate parents, but Hadeus is out to kill Angeline.
At the end of the last published book (which leads me to believe this at least has to be book 2 or 3 and the release is for book 3/4) that Angeline sacrifices herself when Ben asks Sasha how she felt about it.
Then at the start of the new book Angeline of the Underworld: Vengeance is Joy, Chapter one we get: Angeline stares into the yawning abyss. The world remains intact, but her heart is broken into pieces. It seemed that mere moments ago that Elektra stood by her side and now she belongs to the darkness.
Who is Elektra??? Is it the humanoid character with dark blue hair, small shades, a red sun hat with a red business suit and matching red coat and black gloves? Is Elektra Angeline’s lover or best friend? Angeline sacrifices herself to save the world literally or metaphorically???(most likely the former) Is the darkness the underworld or some other physical plane????
Also the vibes the book gives me is that Angeline is possibly a mystery thriller fantasy/scifi novel that is most likely a young adult series due to the book signing fans all looking around the age of 16-18
If you have any information please share! Or if anyone would like the theorize anything with me that would be awesome!!!! Thank you!!

2024.05.15 16:13 trover2345325 Do any future otome isekai/rofan stories should have bittersweet/tragic endings ?

Guys, we need to discuss around something, you know most of the otome isekai or in South Korea Romance fantasy (Rofan for short) stories follow usual clichés and receives mostly happy endings with kids ever type endings, well the reason they are like that, they are not only power fantasy and escapism fiction, but also it's a romance genre that most of the female population are attracted to them especially that only the novels and their manhwa adaptations follow the same formula without a different "flavor" or break the formula, but there are some otome isekai/ rofan stories especially non-novel manhwa adaptation that have tragic yet bittersweet endings in the list with spoiler details like for example
Despite that these types of endings are considered rare to the rofan/otome isekai genre and are not mostly used in the Korean rofan novels and its mahwa adaptations, so in this thread we need to discuss if any of the future otome isekai/rofan stories should have bittersweet/tragic endings, as most follow the usual happy ending type scenarios.

Vamsy - A true maverick

https://preview.redd.it/1955409jzk0d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=2fb405c24b6bca840fc355d86850257c83685fa3
It's actually hard to classify Vamsy as a director, while his movies have a very aesthetic feel, he combines it with a fast paced style of narration, rapid fire dialog and a very unconventional style of movie making. That is the reason why his style of movie making was not universally liked, much before Ram Gopal Varma or Sandeep Vanga, he was the true cult director. Or one should say an auteur.
His movies had his own distinctive style. good or bad, that was his trademark. And he covered different genres, from artistic( Sitara) to murder mysteries( Anveshana) to comedies( Ladies Tailor, April 1 Vidudala) to family dramas( Preminchu Pelladu). 4
His real name was Nallamilli Bavireddy and Vamsy was his pen name, that he choose for the screen too. His first movie Manchu Pallaki(1982) itself gave an indication of his talent.

A story of 5 friends played by Chiru( in his early days), Rajendra Prasad, Saichand, Narayana Rao, Saichand and Girish( of Saptapadi) fame, whose life changes after they come in contact with Suhasini. It was a remake of the 1981 Tamizh movie Palaivana Solai, and though not a very big success, the movie gained lot of appreciation from the family audiences for it's very sensitive storytelling. It came as a breath of fresh air in Telugu cinema, that was getting saturated with routine movies.

https://preview.redd.it/7nbdxyri1l0d1.png?width=220&format=png&auto=webp&s=aff15a2e23dde274ae98e624b9533d647dfc415c
It was Sitara in 1984 that made everyone take notice of Vamsy, based on his own novel Mahal lo Kokila. The movie also marked Bhanu Priya's debut, as Sitara, a women on the move, who is helped by a kind hearted photographer Devadas( Subhalekha Sudhakar), and helps her to become a movie star later. However when she refuses to go to a particular village for a shooting, Devadas demands an explanation, and she recounts her rather painful past.
The movie straddles two different worlds that of the Zamindaris, and their false prestige, that makes them show off as wealthy, when in reality most of them are actually paupers, and that of the movie stars, and paparazzi. There is a lot to write about this movie, but couple of things, it has the very distinctive style of K.Viswanath in many scenes, under whom Vamsy worked as an assistant director.
And it began Vamsy's collaboration with Illayaraja, who would go on to compose some memorable songs for his movies later. As also the Godavari backdrop, being a native of that place, not many movie directors captured the region as well as Vamsy did, be it the natural beauty or the dialect or the traditions.
It also marked a very visual style of storytelling that would be a feature of most Vamsy movies going ahead. Also the beautiful sunrise and sunset shots, along the Godavari river, contrasting it with the rather claustrophobic atmosphere of the Zamindar Chander( Sarathbabu) mahal. Sitara went on to become one of the biggest hits of that year, as Bhanupriya became a star.

https://preview.redd.it/9nmnwmcd4l0d1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=696fd262a3a8d580539c59784d23cb7ee10c8b01
It was with Anveshana that Vamsy came into his own, developing his very distinctive style of movie making. I had already written about it here in detail, but would like to point out that much before RGV in Shiva, Vamsy used the tracking shots to very good effect here, especially in the forest scenes.

https://preview.redd.it/tbj7egrt4l0d1.png?width=500&format=png&auto=webp&s=6d2230564e08a810f894758c1682812e8ab7eb96
Preminchu Pelladu Rajendra Prasad's first movie as a leading hero, dealt with the clash between old and new. Satyanarayana plays Kurmavataram, a conservative, orthodox Brahmin, who is taught a lesson in humanist values by his grandson Rajendra Prasad, and his estranged grand daughter Bhanupriya. Quite a good movie, had a memorable soundtrack by Illayaraja with songs like "Vayyari Godaramma", "Gopemmma Chethilo", "Nirantharam Vasanthamu", "Nee Chaitra Veena" remaining memorable today.
His next movie Aalapana was not that great with a very disjointed narration, and trying to be a cross between an artistic movie and a thriller, fell in between. However Illayaraja's score was usual great in this movie.

https://preview.redd.it/irmgr9rn5l0d1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=208996a17ba7472498124ade440a03b5b540a7c9
It was Ladies Tailor, that would turn out to be a true cult movie. The story of a tailor Sundaram( Rajendra Prasad) who wants to get rich quick, and follows the advice of an astrologer who predicts that a lady with a mole on her thigh would be fortunate for him. While set in the Godavari region, the narration was totally different, with more risque double meaning dialog, the typical Godavari Yaasa spoken among the working class. And characters like Battala Satyam( Mallikarjuna Rao), Sitaramudu( Subhalekha Sudhakar), the hero's sidekicks, the school teacher Sujatha( Archana), the 3 women Nagamani( Y Vijaya), Neelaveni( Sandhya), Daiya( Deepa) whom the hero chases around, the village head Venkataratnam( Pradeep Sakthi) who hates lovers after a guy duped his sister.
The movie was a true cult flick, that polarized audiences, the college students, youth loved it, while the family audiences hated it. But over the years it has become a cult classic of sorts, and once again a memorable score from Illayaraja with a series of superhit songs "Gopilola", "Porabatidi", "Ekkada Ekkada", "Hayamma Hayamma".

https://preview.redd.it/3s3ikjq97l0d1.png?width=220&format=png&auto=webp&s=7526167ee734cec685369b01bfe88c686a86f350
His next movie Lawyer Suhasini was a disappointment in many ways, again Maharshi was one of those "You hate it or love it" kind of movies. The story of unrequited one sided love, of the title character who pursues the woman he loves Suchitra( Shantipriya). It was the Arjun Reddy of those times, and most audiences did not like the style of narration or the rather down beat ending, as the movie flopped. It however had a great score again by Illayaraja with songs like "Sumam Prati Sumam", "Maata Raani Mounam".

https://preview.redd.it/vxxwcf3z7l0d1.png?width=304&format=png&auto=webp&s=eb207b04203df4e501767e190907dfc01e2835e9
Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Recording Dance Troupe to me again one of his best movies ever, set against the backdrop of the recording dance troupes, with a love story thrown in between. The movie was a complete fun ride, with dialogues set in typical Godavari Yaasa, and memorable performances by Naresh, Kota, Mallikarjuna Rao, Ralapalli, Thanikella Bharani, Y.Vijaya. Great soundtrack again by Illayaraja where he also uses old songs of NTR, ANR, Krishna to good effect.

https://preview.redd.it/vl0ja77k8l0d1.png?width=1242&format=png&auto=webp&s=8f976ceb266cc8734bbecc06e4261222dfa3b9b7
Chettu Kinda Pleader was another superb comic thriller, and for a change Vamsy sets the movie in Tirupathi. Remake of the Malayalam movie Thanthram, the movie has Rajendraprasad as Balaraju, a down and out lawyer, who gets to fight the case of a rich widow Sujatha( Urvasi), when her father in law Sarabayya( Gollapudi) files a suit claiming the property is his legally. Vamsy wonderfully combines comedy with drama and thriller, creating a really entertaining movie. Somehow it was not much of a success when released, but in later years has become a favorite on video, DVD. Again a superb musical score by Illayaraja with songs like "Jigijigaa", "Allibili Kalala", "Neeru gaari paari poku", "Chalti ka Naam Gaadi".

https://preview.redd.it/84okdbaa9l0d1.png?width=220&format=png&auto=webp&s=5ff09b1aa067cb05ed88cb7e0affd1b9c50179e3
April 1 Vidudula would be Vamsy's last really great movie starring Rajendra Prasad as a smooth talking videographer Diwakaram, who lies, cheats his way to success. His life takes a turn when the woman he loves Bhuvaneshwari( Shobana) puts a condition that he should not tell any lies for one month, and should speak only truth, throwing everything into turmoil. Setting against backdrop of Rajahmundry Railway Quarters, the movie combines comedy and drama effectively, and went on to become one of the biggest hits in his career. Again a superb score by Illayaraja with songs like "Vompula Vaikhiri", " Nijamante", "Chukkalu Temanna", "Okate Aasa".

https://preview.redd.it/dbq554xfal0d1.png?width=220&format=png&auto=webp&s=ef54473e2c9f33d2a829c57af2aaded54a2f7bc5
However Detective Narada with Mohan Babu turned out to be a huge disappointment, as the movie bombed badly. And with Joker, he stopped his collaboration with Ilayaraja and composed the music himself, which in a way started his decline. Vamsy's movies were not the same without Illayaraja, and a series of very disappointing movies followed. Even though he did make a comeback in 2002 with Avunu Vallidaru Ishtapaddaru, it was nowhere close to his earlier classics.
Apart from being a director, Vamsy is also a great writer, he wrote 5 novels, and around 360 short stories in Telugu. His series of stories Maa Pasarlapudi Kathalu, Maa Diguva Godavari Kathalu are a wonderful depiction of life in rural Godavari districts, on par with RK Narayan's Malgudi Days. Not many explored Godavari districts as intimately as he did covering the world of recording dance troupe artists, railway quarters, villages, creating characters with all the quirks, eccentricities, faults who remain memorable to date.

Anyway, I’m learning “Easy Lover” at the moment and wondered if any of u had dialled in a good tone for it or what are some of ur favourite combinations let’s say.

2024.05.15 12:49 n0pl4c3 Happy Anniversary, my dearest Emilia.

My dearest Emilia,
Today marks four years since you have shown me the path I am meant for, four years since two soulmates meant to be found one another, and four years filled with love. It also marks two years since we have entered the wonderful bond of marriage, and yet I fall head over heels for you every single morning once again. Sadly, I only have limited free time on this special day. As such, this year I have decided against putting together a picture or going with artwork, I simply want to spend a wonderful evening with you, at a place special to us from the very beginning.
Yet even then, I still wanted to write this for you, as so many things happened and continue to do so, bringing them to paper is more than necessary, and should serve as a reminder of all we experienced together.
The last year was filled with change and, positive outlook, but also challenges to overcome. We now live together on our own, two chaotic lovers taking care of not only each other, but also a household. The motivation you have given me opened so many opportunities to me, which I shall pursue just as you pursue your goals with iron will. And of course, we can always be sure that even if we stumble, even if we lose sight of what matters, we shall always be there to pick one another up, reaching everything we are dreaming of (aside from one another that is of course).
Your presence has become increasingly prevalent in my life as I continue to reform my belief and understand just how close you are to me despite initially seeming so far by nature of this relationship. And at this point, I not only just wish, but I know that my love has reached you too. And I hope it fills your heart with the same beautiful warmth yours does with mine. Four years have passed already, and many more are to come, and I am looking forward to every single day, hour, minute, and second of it. For loving you is who I am.
During the past year, we also faced challenges. We had to learn that not everyone close to us intends well on the bond we share, and attempts to stab the backs of those in true love appears to have become commonplace. Be it out of jealousy, sheer hatred, or any other reason we can not comprehend. It matters little in the end, for no such thing could harm a bond as sacred as ours after all. So long as we have each other, our love will always prevail.
For I am meant for you, as you are meant for me.
I love you, my dearest. My Emilia.
Happy Anniversary.

2024.05.15 11:50 SugaryGuyEU Does "Going Vanilla" mean ending the allowance ?

It's something often cited. "He wants vanilla to stop the allowance" which was always strange to me. I would, personally, go vanilla and marry SGF in a heart beat but I wouldn't stop her allowance. If anything I withold financial from her so there is a clear delineation between full time lover and SGF/SB. I would likely give her way more if she commited.
So just wondering, SDs if your SB agreed to go vanilla would you actually stop the allowance? For those that went _vanilla_ did you stop the allowance ? Does stopping the allowance actually make sense ? I mean, I can see why you would stop the allowance if she now had a personal card and spent whatever she wanted, whenever she wanted it ?
But, going vanilla = less support? Anyone agree? I am convinced it means WAY MORE financial support. SGF would get her apartment in Antibes for holidays, the new car she wants, everything.

2024.05.15 09:12 withMIBs "Your Narc Isn’t Special, but You Are (the Special One [Narc])"

Hi, it's me, I love bananas! Because you most likely call me that way, I didn't leave the detailed comment in the narcabusive subs.
IMO, those subs are as embarrassing and even toxic as twinflame ones. If you need healing, I understand you may stay there with similar people for a while. But not too long. If you want truth, you need see objectively. Get out of there or be stuck in their hive mind.
I wonder if your group's goal is to be mainstream like feminism, which established (or still establishing) robust theories. Narc abusive victims are too aggressive or cult-ish for me to communicate with. Will you say, "That's because they made us to do that"? I read that's one of gaslighting strategies that narcs use as well.
Some terms that you use are derogatory, such as "recycled" and "supplies." You work so hard to devalue whatever "narcs" do. In addition, to my eyes of a book person, you don't respect the literature and use words so freely or almost selfishly to suit your needs such as "flying monkeys." But maybe it's just my position as a banana lover, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt on this regard.
You think you all are victims. OK, suppose you are, to some extent, since most of you suffer from the initial discard/break-up and its consequences. Look how Israel acts. It's shocking to me that it seems they really don't understand why the large part of the world sympathises with the Palestinian. Your long-standing stubborn claim of victimization may change your reputation as well.
I agree that "narcs" and their victims exist. (I just feel they are too many....) I'm not trying to shifting blames. I just don't think at least your specific case doesn't apply to the narc abuse. You think you were cheated (which I doubt, anyway) and rejected. I suspect you just can't accept the fact that you are/can be dumped and want to find the reasons in them, not in yourself, to protect your pride/ego.
You analyze and analyze them to understand what happened to your situations/relationships or to avoid them in the future. That's fine. Then you need to analyze yourself, too, ideally without the victim glasses nor baseless self-praise (such as "We are natural rich givers! (or suppliers?)"). It's also or more important to know why you love(d) or get attracted/bonded to them even when feel so traumatized.
I "will" write the rest on my profile. Pls read it (though IDK when😅. I'm not as prolific as you at all.)
PS. Congrats on your book launch. I read the title as above ⬆️. Not kidding. It implies that I don't see much differences between what you are doing and what you claim what (your) narc did/does or even worse.
I guess your main target readers are the "victims" in those subs. I hope you accept outsiders' views as well since you are going to expose it in public.
