2024.05.16 05:46 ConnectBase1411 My mom

I’m 17F my mom is on meth I think it’s her goal to make sure that I know she don’t love me as much as my other 2 sisters she’s mean to me, I try to talk to her and she’ll completely ignore me , my older sister is 29 she stays in our seller bc she don’t have a house she’s also on meth and don’t pay rent or anything since I was little mom has always made it obvious that my older sister is her favorite, I pay water bill and give my mom money bc if I don’t she’ll be all mad my older sister don’t pay anything and got her kids takin from her and don’t want them back yet my mom praises her , my mom is mean to me and does stuff to get under my skin like I’ll tell her I’m going to take a shower and she will sit on the restroom for hours with music blaring till I have to go to bed so I have to go to work dirty the next morning, for my 17th birthday my mom got me clothes from good will and dad got me a beer I cried more that day than I did in my whole life, I got paid 2 days later so I bought myself a cake and candle and ate it in my closet, my mom always made my sisters birthdays so fun I always try to make my mom happy for her birthday day I bought her 100$ shoes a cake and cards and shirts no one called her to tell her happy birthday I came home with all this stuff and she said thank you and gave the cake to my 29 yr old sister bc she didn’t want it , idk why I disappoint her so much but it hurts she used to not always be this way I know I shouldn’t expect anything from her but even for her to look at me and make me feel like she cares would mean the world my dad is a asshole he’s on drugs too and he steals my money a new phone I had bought, he will say he’s tired of me and shut the fuck up and fuck you he’s only nice when he wants money or something life sucks I think I’ll be happier when I’m older and move out but I think even then I’ll seek approval and love from them I don’t know

2024.05.16 04:47 Least-Ad-1806 How to deal with a partner having extreme mood swings and delusions

My boyfriend has schizoaffective but in his mind he doesn't. So that makes it very difficult for him to be adherent to a treatment. He started vraylar in december at 1.5mg only but his psychiatrist and myself think he would benefit an increase of dosage. Instead, he started "forgetting" alot to take his meds, to the point he wad taking 1 dose per week during an entire month. I saw that and told him why and suggest him to follow the treatment for now to fully see what are the effects. He was more consistent (at least I think) during the past month...but then he started smoking cannabis (THC) again, smoking, and taking lots of energy drinks. Today was his birthday. I offered him a gift and he was very happy. I bought a cake and we had a nice moment. Then, he went to his dads after dinner (which is out of town for work) and came back at the end of the evening, in a completely different mood. Almost as if he was a totally different person. His eyes gets bigger, the pupils, and he acts very dramatic and almost theatratical, and gets very expressive, says mean things to me and about everyone being the problem, and talks about wanting to punch people randomly...then laughs, then makes fun of me, argue alone about nothing but saying everything is my fault and that he can't endure me. He often talks to himself when in those kind of states. Like he has delusions and thinks I confront him but I do nothing : I was studying maths for my exams as it is the last week of the semester. Then he yells and gets very angry and irritable and left, and then wrote me he no longer wants to see me and that he would never not respect himself anymore by eating cake he didn't want. 30 min later he just sent me a pic of him nude lol. But earlier today he was happy and I told him not to eat the cake if he didn't want to. And he wanted to see me earlier and yesterday he was hugging me and being affectionnate. I don't know what to do and what not to do. It happened before when he was off meds it was chaotic. The mood swings were very extreme and very short, and sometimes (majority of the time) he would forget about it! Like he broke up with me at night, and was kissing me the next morning like if nothing happened. Then he could be hypomanic doing physics calculs of a fictive project as if it was an emergency and gets very centered on himself and gets irritable if I try to talk to him. He wants me to listen to him, but gets mads and yells and sometimes even hurt me physically by grabbing my wrist hard and sometimes threatened me to hurt me or punch me...
I am thinking of taking contact again with his psychiatrist once my exams are done in 10 days. She is very compassionate and empathetic, and I trust her, and he likes her also, at least more than his previous psychiatrist.
Do you have any suggesting for how to deal with a someone delusional having extreme and short mood swings? Sometimes I get hurt and take things personally and it makes me feel miserable.

2024.05.16 04:34 stfupinkyponkycuzyy_ well today is my sister's birthday

So my sister turns 20 today. when I woke up and opened my phone I saw that my father was the first one to wish her. Calls,wp status,wp gcs everywhere. He's also gifting her a guitar this year.
Flashback to Jan this year. My 18th birthday. Guess what. My father forgot my birthday. He talked to me in the morning. I thought he'll wish me. And then he doesn't. I never got any gifts so i just knew that he won't gift me anything. I had no birthday cake, except the small one which my sister sent for me. My little brother gets gifts too and big parties are thrown in his birthday. It's only me. And always me.
Idk this made me soo sad. Bec I always thought they were a bit biased. And this is one of the many incidents. Nevertheless I love my sister. And wish her the best.
Ik I sound pointless and childish nvm I'm just here for my morning rant

2024.05.16 03:48 bbweby8 how do i (24F) get my boyfriend (28M) to be less complacent/put more effort into the relationship?

i’ve been with my partner for almost 4 years; and realised today that i cannot recall the last time he made a concentrated effort to plan something nice for me without me basically directing where, when, what, and how.
my birthday party is in a few days and he only broke the news today that he hadn’t ordered the cake when he took ownership of dealing with it; he told me months before he was baking it and only told me today he couldn’t do it and would order one instead and asked what flavor i wanted. there are many issues that i took with this. he knew that i wanted my birthday cake to look a specific way as i showed him photos of what i wanted weeks ago and asked if he could do it; he told me he couldn’t decorate the cake that way and i said that it was ok because he was already baking me a cake from scratch which i immensely appreciated. he could have told me at any point he couldn’t do it and that he was going to order it instead. but instead he waited to tell me until the very last minute and also to sort it out at the very last moment possible.
he also did the same in regards to my birthday dinner plans for the two of us; he told me he wanted to book dinner for us and i had already told him what cuisine i wanted. he has access to my google calendar so knew when i was free. i told him i just wanted a dinner somewhere nice with him. instead of that being the end of it, he kept coming back to me with “what about this restaurant? this one? availability XYZ”; it became a back and forth to the point i had to pull out the tiktok folder i saved with recommendations for restaurants in our city, most of which i’ve sent him previously to tell him i would do these restaurants and even went on their websites to check what dates were available until i put my foot down and told him idk why i was doing the labour of booking my own birthday dinner when he said he would do it. and guess what he was able to find a restaurant and just book it. this annoyed me but i thought it was an isolated incident but apparently not.
i got incredibly upset after he told me he basically hadn’t done shit about the cake and i left home and didn’t go back and stayed with my mom for the night because i just could not believe my partner of 4 years could be so unreliable for something as simple as a birthday cake. if my friends were capable of doing it in previous years why couldn’t he? my mom asked me when he has previously taken the initiative to do something nice for me without my input and i genuinely cannot remember a time where he did something that he planned himself and executed without somehow making me responsible for it in some way. when it comes to gifts, i basically buy them for myself and he reimburses me the cost of them. dinners, i choose a restaurant and the date and time and book it for us. trips/vacations, i suggest it and have to take the initiative of choosing a day to sit down and plan and book it. if i don’t put my foot down it doesn’t get done. and i realise he is either incompetent or lazy when it comes to the relationship and i don’t know how to navigate this issue and move past it.
he has apologised about the cake issue but the time apart has made me realise this is a deeper issue and i don’t know what he can do to make it up to me. i don’t see what he can do to show me he can fix things.
can i please get suggestions on how to approach this with him and to move forward? i have previously brought this up to him in the relationship that i feel as though i take on a lot of the emotional labour in regards to household management (meals, when we need to clean bc the mess reaches a boiling point, or buying things we need for the flat) and romance in the relationship (love languages, that i needed more in terms of emotional fulfilment) and he will be apologetic and do it for a while but i think he is just complacent in the relationship.
how do you make your partner non-complacent/not lazy/bring him out of feeling “too comfortable”? don’t get me wrong, we get along great, we are like best friends and love to hang out and just chill and spend time together but i want more than a best friend i want a partner i can rely on to step up to make special occasions actually special for me. it feels as though he loves me so much and to him these things don’t matter but it does to me and it’s important to me but i think he is a bit selfish in that he subconsciously isn’t as considerate or thoughtful. i love him a lot but i need my emotional needs fulfilled too. what can i suggest/what steps can he take to actually show he cares????

2024.05.16 03:40 Internal_Nature9985 Am I wrong for wanting to celebrate my birthday?

My(33f) Bf(40m) grew up "not celebrating holidays" for religious reasons. His extended family and him still do Christmas with some gifts and a big dinner and gathering. The other holidays are celebrated with big meals/gathering and a cookout. But holidays like Valentine's day, he's extremely anti-holiday. He yelled at me and made me cry this year because I was on Pinterest looking for ideas to share with my clients (I do caregiving for elderly) because it's a "commercial fake holiday". I explained to him that elderly people really enjoy holidays because they don't have much else going on. Nothing I said mattered to him. The year before, he surprised me with flowers and then a week later tore me down verbally and called me materialistic for him getting me flowers. I told him I didn't ask for them and he accused me of expecting them so he didn't have a choice. He's usually ok with getting a cake for his birthday/doesn't want to do much. My birthday is coming up and I asked him about his feelings on it. He said he's considering "playing nice" for the day. Last year he started yelling at me the night before. It wasn't about anything to do with me but his anger was directed at me, and I ended up crying for hours and being numb all day. I usually just celebrate the day with my parents, as I do with other holidays. I just don't know how to convince him to let me celebrate holidays and birthdays in peace. We don't live together and we don't share finances. He makes 3x more than I do, so I know it's not a hidden financial reason that he acts like this. I know I'm an adult now and birthdays aren't that big of a deal, but I've had a few life threatening medical issues and I like to celebrate that I'm still alive. Am I wrong for wanting to?

2024.05.16 01:48 am_the_great My birthday this year was genuinely awesome lol

My birthday was on Sunday, I went to work and then went and got a new tattoo (I love it so much lol.) That was pretty much it for the actual day but on Monday I met up with my friends (M and his girlfriend N) at a restaurant for my birthday. Immediately I saw M reused the bag that I used for his birthday (I thought it was funny and I will definitely be using it for N's birthday now lol.)
Then we go in, sit down and order. Then they start asking me about my gifts and when I'll open them so I grabbed a stuffed dino out the bag. Immediately noticed it was heavy and I thought it was weighted but they told me it was a jar and I could open it. So I did. It was weed lmfao, I opened a jar of weed in the middle of a busy restaurant lol. Panicked and put the lid back on as fast as I could while I was laughing about the no warning lol.
We get our food, we're talking and laughing and shit, no other oopsies so far until it was cake time. They brought in a cheesecake for me cause yummy. M goes to slice it, he's doing great, then he tries to put the slice on a plate and drops it on the table. N and M both get it on the plate and N hands it to me straight face and says happy birthday. M and I died laughing. I thought it was fucking hilarious, I was crying cause I was laughing so hard. Just the straight face happy birthday after dropping it on the table was so funny to me.
But yeah honestly that was pretty much it, simple but I think that's the hardest I've laughed in a while and this has definitely been my best birthday by far lol

2024.05.16 01:38 Significant-Block286 Dad's Birthday Piñata Stuffers

Hi everyone, my family and I are planning a birthday party for my dad who is turning 53. He had a pretty rough childhood and didn't have any parties growing up so we want to give him that experience (as best as possible).
We really want to have a piñata at his party but not sure what to put in it. He's not super into candy and will probably reach his limit by just eating cake. We're looking for suggestions on what else to put in it. Thank you!

I’m trying to find a bakery or maybe a restaurant to order and have delivered a cake to my son on his birthday. I’m not having much luck on Google so I thought since this group is Utah you might know of a place. I’m in NC so as you could probably imagine, not an easy task. He lives in Millcreek, Utah I have no idea where to start, oh and his birthday is Sunday the 19th… he’s going to be 25. Thanks in advance for any ideas! 🎂

Trigger warning: mention of domestic violence situation
I’m married to a woman who acts like a teenage girl – February 6th, 2024
My wife behaves like a teenage girl and I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
This is just a rant. Curious to know how many full grown adults behave the way my wife does. I’d say out of all of the adult women I know, like friends, relatives, wives of my friends, none of them behave this way unless they keep it a closely guarded secret.
Editing right here to add that my wife is in her 30s, for context.
My wife is always obsessed with somebody, a man or sometimes multiple men at one time. Usually there is one or two main focuses at a time. When I talk obsessed I mean obsessed like a teenage girl or maybe even preteen girl would be. I’ve seen pictures of her bedroom when she was that age and they were literally wallpapers in posters of her favorite guys. That’s totally normal for a 13 year old girl. She still behaves that way as a woman in her 30s. Granted, our bedroom walls aren’t wallpapered in posters but they probably would be if I allowed it.
Her obsessions have ranged from rock stars, actors, non-entertainment industry public figures. It’s like one day she hasn’t even heard of the guy in question and the next day she’s super fan #1 and knows just about everything there is to know about him. She will read and watch everything there is to watch about the man. She will bring him up in every conversation. She will adopt parts of him into her own personality. She will suggest things that make it clear to me that she wants me to adopt characteristics of these men as part of my appearance or personality. She will openly admit to me that she’s masturbated over the guy multiple times in one day.
When she finds a new man to obsess over, she puts the others in her little stable of men who she always has a place for in her heart and in her fantasies, so they never really go away. The new man just takes center stage and becomes the main focus of almost her entire life.
So the current obsession is so strange to me. Never saw this one coming, but leave it to her to always find somebody new to fall in love with. The intensity that she has during these periods - it’s honestly like she falls in love with these men.
I’m laughing so hard just typing this all. Her current obsession is Bret Hart, former pro wrestler. This woman had never watched wrestling before in her life. Always thought that stuff was below her. And now she’s obsessed with this former pro-wrestler. She watched one show about him, for reasons I’m not aware of, and I could tell almost instantly where it was headed. I thought “here we go…” So now the Bret Hart obsession is in full swing. Has she already dropped close to $1000 in vintage Bret Hart shirts on eBay? Of course. Bought all the stickers and magnets and all sorts of other stupid crap she can find? Yep. Does she send me Bret Hart YouTube clips all.day.long when she’s supposed to be working? Yes she does.
So, I better get to work brushing up on my Bret Hart knowledge and tag lines. This is the key to getting laid when it comes to her. I’m used to this by now. It’s just not something that I can easily explain to anyone I know.
I mean, there’s are things I’m a fan of, but she is next level. I can’t think of anyone I know who is her age and acts like this. She was voted most likely to grow up and become a groupie when she was in high school, so this is absolutely nothing new for her. Sigh.

Limerence is mentioned
poopchutethemoon
Yeah my bouts of limerence have been with people I’ve dated but reading that made me realize that I was very much being obsessive and it was totally all consuming. Glad it’s over honestly. Those feelings are exhausting.
Very interesting to hear you say the feelings are exhausting. It’s like a full time job for my wife, so I could see that. She told me she’s at work with her door closed pretending to be working, but she’s really watching Bret Hart videos on YouTube. She can’t even focus on her job.
OOP reveals more of the life he’s signed up for in the comments
get-bread-not-head
You've pretended to act like other men for 20 years?!
Damn dude, I hope you're finding ways to accept it and cope. That sounds rough, having to be someone else to have sex... stay strong king
Nah, I just learn their catchphrases or gain some deep fan knowledge that’ll impress her or maybe perfect a vocal impersonation of them that I can drop at the opportune time. The vocal impersonations work the best as far as making her like me and being like “ok, wanna have sex now?”
another_canoe
But what do you guys actually share *together*? That's not related to the obsession of the season? (I'm not going to even bother asking if she's tried to learn about any of your hobbies/interests).
NGL, this is all pretty grim to me, my man....and I'm someone who loves having a partner who is passionate about things and nerds out.
I fear that you've spent so long with her infatuations steamrolling over your own interests and preferences that you have convinced yourself that getting attention-by-proxy as your main source of validation from your SPOUSE is a healthy way to live.
If I told you that I was big into anime and Japanese RPGs and the only way I get interested in doing it with my actual wife is if she adopts the catch phrases /personality characteristics of my latest "waifu", would you feel some concern for my wife's mental health?
I'm also wondering about this spending....
She’s pretty dismissive of my interests and hobbies. I’ve told her I’d like her to try to pretend to show a little more interest sometimes. I make an effort to show real interest in her stuff and she does not do the same. I’m very into music and I do geek out over guitars and gear and things like that and she couldn’t tell you anything about any of the guitars I own other than “he has a blue one, he has a red one. “ We do love some of the same bands. Of course she wants to fuck the band members and I just want to talk about the chord progression on my favorite guitar tracks, but it’s close enough. We like a lot of the same movies and that sort of thing. We have the same sense of humor and can keep each other laughing for ages. We have a lot of the same views on life and on the world in general.
I don’t know, we just get each other I guess.
I would be concerned about the waifu thing, but I guess in my case she always likes guys who I think are pretty cool anyway. She has good taste, at least. If she has to be obsessing over some other guy constantly at least she does it over guys I can respect on some level.
Regarding the spending, I spend way more than she does. Only difference is it’s not usually fan merch I’m buying. But she tolerate my spending when it comes to stuff like guitar gear. She rolls her eyes and reprimands me but she tolerates it and just knows I won’t stop. I’m the same when it comes to her fan stuff. I get it, she wants the vintage 1993 Bret Hart shirt that costs hundreds…not a modern shirt that just anyone could go online and buy for $25 right now. She wants the cool, rare stuff. I’m the same with my guitars so I guess it’s like we understand each other in some way. I think it’s weird to become a fan of somebody and 2 days later drop thousands on them though. At least my money pit is consistent.
I think we both feel like we’re the only person who will semi understand and tolerate all of this stuff from each other
Not included here, but in several comments, OOP definitely brings up his wife’s looks as a positive in the relationship and he finds her antics at times amusing or even attractive.
1st Update - February 28th, 2024
I recently wrote about my wife suddenly discovering former pro-wrestler Bret “The Hitman” Hart one day after never even knowing of his existence, experienced love at first site, and is now even deeper than love with him then she was a month ago.
Tonight, I experienced a good hour of her sobbing, literal sobs, after watching the Bret Hart A&E biography. “I just love him so much. I love him with all my heart. I don’t want any more bad things to happen to him. Also, I’m very jealous he’s not my husband.”
She also went from not wanting any kids to suddenly wanting a baby so she can name it Bret (a girl or a boy, doesn’t matter…they will be named Bret). And she almost had me convinced, but I blame that on the heat of the moment.
She’s bought all sorts of clothes just like his. My wife now dresses like Bret Hart in and outside of the ring.
The past few days she’s been acting really annoyed with me. Finally I’m like “Wtf am I doing wrong?” I bought you Bret Hart stuff for your birthday! I call you Mrs. Bret Hart now, even though you’re my wife. I even sent you flowers at work from Bret. I mean that was supposed to get me points because she knew they were from me and I was playing into her obsession which she’s now apparently shared with everyone she works with. They’ve bought her a giant Bret Hart wall decal for her office.
Ok, so I did forget our anniversary which was very recently. Totally forgot it. Then again, so did she. She was too busy masturbating over Bret Hart to remember our wedding anniversary. I mean bad husband points for me obviously but all the birthday gifts had to have made up for it. I mean, I even ordered a Bret Hart birthday banner and got her a Bret Hart themed birthday cake as if she were a 7 year old boy in the year 1994.
So why is she acting so annoyed lately? Why does she act like she hates me and can’t stand to even be in the same room as me? She finally admits…I’m not Bret Hart. None of her obsession have ever been this bad. She’s seriously threatening me with divorce now because I’m not Bret Hart! She “just wants a guy like that.” She had to go walk the dog today and cry over it, how much she hates me and wishes she was married to Bret Hart. Oh fuck me you want a guy like your dad because that’s what Bret Hart is like…exactly like her dad, the same look, the same hair, the same damn age.
I told her I think she should get checked out for autism or some other sort of disorder. Her obsessions have never been this bad. She should make an appointment now because the waitlist is long. She just laughed. There’s nothing wrong with her. She just has different taste in men now, according to her.
Some comments
psychick
Therapist here - she needs to see a psychiatrist. This is mental illness to the extreme. Either she goes, or you leave. This is ultimatum territory. And, stop giving into her obsession. It makes it worse.
nualt42
Man, when she threatens divorce, take it. Jump at the chance.
Hell, sit, be a good boy and offer your fucking paw if that’s what it takes to get treated to an exit strategy. Don’t worry about dignity, sounds like you gave that up a long time ago.
She’s even looked up the divorce process for where we live and says we can be amicable about everything. She assures me she’s not looking to take any thing that is rightfully mine. She just wants a clean break.
Sophie3546
I’m surprised he even lasted this long. Calling her “Ms. Bret Hart” …..I can’t even fathom.
Excuse me, it’s MRS Bret Hart, not Ms.
NEW UPDATE - March 8th, 2024
Hi, you might remember me as the guy whose wife was obsessed with JFK (35th President of the United States), then experienced a world wind romance with former WWF pro-wrestler Bret Hart (the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be), but now she’s met a new man. I thought the Bret Hart obsession was the worst one yet. Never has she threatened divorce or told me she hated me because I wasn’t the object of her desire. Luckily, that was a relatively quick love affair for her. 3-4 months is a short run for her and one of her men. But I should be careful what I wish for.
This new one is the first time I’ve felt that I should maybe, just possibly, feel legitimately scared. Her newly developing obsession is Patrick Bateman. Yep, the character from American Psycho. Specifically, the movie version played by Christian Bale.
It’s not like she’s just met the guy. She’s seen the movie before but it doesn’t appear that they hit it off initially. Now, she’s suddenly started making constant reference to him. Bret is gone and now it’s just Patrick Bateman and maniacal laughter and purchasing all of the items in his skin care routine. I’d like to see her do 1000 crunches though. That’ll be the day.
She has always admitted to living the 80s preppy/yuppie look. She loves assholes. Assholes are a weakness for her. Psychopaths? Hmm…that’s a new one, unless you count the time she was in love with the Menendez Brothers years ago. God, the pastel Ralph Lauren sweaters she used to try to make me wear. Pastels are just not my shades.
Now, there was a time many years ago where I did have to hide all the knives in our home. I was legitimately scared that she was going to murder me. I forget what she was upset about now. I am, after all, her type - an asshole. I did something that bothered her and she ran for the knives. I had to hide them and then lock myself in a bedroom because she was literally chasing me. That was before she decided that she’d be the female Patrick Bateman. Granted, she says “only mean in the looks and snob department-nothing else.”
She’s trying to determine what the female equivalent to a Patrick Bateman hairstyle would be right now. I’m just worried about the bank account with this obsession. The amount she’ll spend on business cards alone.

Your wife is severely mentally ill, and needs help quickly.
Is there no chance of persuading her to get help?
If not, what preparations have you made to leave her?
I’m a strange way, I think these obsessions are what keep her sane.
Her getting help is funny though. It’s not going to happen. Sure I’ve tried to persuade her to see a therapist but she just won’t.

I probably shouldn’t be laughing as hard as I am right now. This is truly bizarre. Does she narrate her morning routine in the mirror each day now?
But in all seriousness, she’s chased you with a knife? Thats far more concerning than any of the obsessions with these men, and yes I did read the post about the wrestler. I thought it was just very quirky behavior before, but she seems truly unhinged now.
It was years ago. Like 10+ years ago. I’m much stronger than her so it’s not hard to hold her down if need be.

2024.05.16 01:06 HughLofting Growing up poor in Oz

What are your memories like? I was born in '63 and my parents split up when I was 5. My mother got custody and we were then a single parent family who lived off welfare and my mum's part time work at a Chinese restaurant. I didn't perceive or even think about the concept of being poor back then, but now I can understand that we lived a pretty meagre existence. We never went hungry, but we certainly ate mince and toasted sandwiches a lot. We never had a lot of toys. New clothes were rare. Going somewhere on holidays wasn't a thing. I never had a birthday party other than a packet cake with some candles and a bottle of Passiona and my 2 sisters and mum. My own kids have had a very different life.

2024.05.16 00:38 musicphilopoet My (21M) girlfriend (22F) is pulling away from me and I'm terrified. What do I do?

She is the girl of my dreams. I met her in the most beautiful way about 14 months ago and after waiting for her to say 'yes', we've been together just over a year. From after we met, our relationship has been long-distance (because we're in different countries) but the love that we've shared is beyond describable. Hundreds of hours speaking, texting, and spending time with one another...it's the first time either of us have been in love. I was upfront with her from the start that if we're getting together, we're together for life. While she had different opinions prior to meeting me, even she told me that she can't love or be with anybody else now that she has me (because she loves me, not out of force lol). She and I have the best bond; I don't know how many emails we've written each other, how many gifts we've ordered each other, how many travails both of us have gone through just to be together. She and I call each other 'husband' and 'wife'...what more can I say? All of this relationship has been us both longing for the day we get to be together for good.
Since before we got together, I had been studying in a really strict place and as a result I wasn't able to contact her much but despite all the difficulties, we maintained an incredibly strong bond. We both made many personal sacrifices in order to keep the relationship. She and I had been waiting for me to graduate because that means we'll be able to talk whenever we want. I finally graduated this April and we were both overjoyed. But to my absolute sorrow, it feels like she's less into me than ever now.
Over the past month or so we've been having certain conflicts but I'm certain it's just an argumentative phase and I reassure her so whenever I get the chance. None of our arguments ever really become fights; they often end up with her shutting down while I try to explain to her why I'm hurt or asking her to explain to me why she is hurt. About a month ago is when she revealed to me that she's been contemplating being alone which hit me like a bullet. The worst part is that she told a friend of hers (22M) who she met a couple months back. Now, I know I sound like the typical naive BF, but I know that she would never cheat. There have been instances in our relationship when she's been non-consensually kissed, but I know for a fact that she would never ever deign to be unfaithful. But she knows that this friend is interested in her and despite that she told him before she told me, which I felt was a transgression of our trust and obligation to be open with each other first and foremost. I told her about how I felt and she reluctantly agreed to be open about such feelings with me before mentioning them to anyone else, though it felt to me like a pyrrhic victory above all else because she said so as though it was an obligation to me.
Nevertheless, this topic of her wanting to be alone keeps resurfacing between us and it's become more and more of a possibility, which crushes me. I understand her point of view to an extent because she's working two jobs at this moment, while I'm in between things because I'm looking for work, having just completed my degree. Combine that with having to handle an LDR with a time difference of nearly 12 hours and it's enough to drive anyone crazy. Day before yesterday was my birthday and she surprised me by ordering me an expensive cake. I'm the one distracting her from work from time to time with my messages and calls, and yet she spends the same money she worked hard to earn on me...so I know for a fact that this girl loves me (as if everything else she's ever done for me wasn't enough), but this gift contrasts with the arguments we've been having on a near-daily basis lately, and I can tell she's exhausted from everything.
Last night we were on a call and she finally told me that she doesn't know if she wants to be in a relationship at all and she doesn't want to think about marriage right now. I asked her if she wants to take a break and I got the usual 'I don't know', but when I pressed further and asked if her wanting to be alone meant cutting all her friends off, she said that she would be in touch with them but not me. I asked her why it is that she tells me that she loves me and that I'm the only one she's ever loved and yet she wants to cut only me out of her life, and she couldn't answer. Moreover, when I asked her that cutting communication for a little while meant we're still together, she said that such a situation would mean that we're basically not in a relationship anymore. Despite feeling absolutely broken, I told her that I'll give her however much space she requires without us breaking up. I feel so crushed but to accommodate her feelings I told her that for the next few days, all she'd have to do is send me a 'Good morning, I love you' and a 'Good night, I love you' message. She wouldn't be obligated to send me anything else unless she wanted to. I made it clear that we're still together and that all the rules of our relationship still apply and that this is a temporary measure taken in order for her to have room to breathe, which she hasn't had because of the utter lack of time because of both jobs and our relationship in addition to the fact that she just moved to a new place for work.
Basically, my head has been totally screwed up and I don't know how to do anything I want to anymore because the girl I love, the girl who loves me, is giving me no attention at all. Just a month or two ago if I was asked whether we'd ever break up, I would've confidently answered in the negative but now I'm seriously worried. I spoke with her sister (22F) and she told me that even she is surprised but she'd speak to my GF and figure things out. I'm just so devastated by all this. I thought to come here and get your opinions. As far as my plans go, I'm waiting to hear back from her sis and give her some time to collect her thoughts without pushing things further. What do I do?
