How to make a rollup of a rollup?

2024.05.22 00:15 gjs6691 How to make a rollup of a rollup?

How to make a rollup of a rollup?
I am not that good with the new formula system, I just wanted to know if there is any way to do this:
I have 3 tables for the manager of my store: Employees, Goals and Prices (for when the employees achieve certain goals).
The idea is that each month the manager sets one or more Goals for each Employee, then they assign a Prize to the Goals. At the end of the month they should be able to establish which Employees reached the Goals and who did the best and won the Prize.
An example would be this: I have 5 Employees; they all must sell a certain $ amount for May 2024, where the goal amount varies for each one of them (so 5 Goals all named "Monthly Sales" but with different values in the properties, each one related to a different employee but all with the same Prize). Each employee gets a score (see formula in scheme below) and the best score among the 5 "Monthly Sales" wins a gift card, which is the Prize assigned to this type of goal.
Relevant properties in Employees are: - Name
Relevant properties in Goals are: - Time period - Goal name - Goal value - Employees names (single relationship) - Value reached at the end of the month - Score formula = (AmountReached - GoalAmount) / GoalAmount
Relevant properties in Prices are: - Time period - Prize name - Goals (multi relationship) - Rollup (Max Score among Goals)
What I want, basically, is a property (either in Prices or in Goals) that tells me who won the Prize, so which Employee made the best score among the 5 Goals related to the Prize.
The ideal would be to have a rollup in Prices that tells me the best score then a rollup of that rollup that tells me who made that score, but it's not possible.
Is there any formula I could use? A well explained tutorial I could follow?
Hope I was clear enough, sorry for the long explanation, thanks in advance! šŸ˜Š

Hi, I wanna export my document to pdf with high quality images. I already set the option to not compress my images in Word and I reinserted the images, such that they look good. But in the Export menu in the Tools menu (yellow) there should be an option for exporting uncompressed images, which I saw in a youtube video but is not here in my version of word.

my screen - can't screenshot the menu - it closes, but there is only the "map nework drive" option

Does anyone of you have an idea how to fix this?

2024.05.21 12:28 spiirel ā€œMen are uselessā€ mentality caused issues at my wedding

For months leading up to our wedding my mom made comments like ā€œweā€™ll send the men to the bar during wedding prep so theyā€™ll be out of the womenā€™s hairā€ and ā€œI hope the venue bar opens early so the guys can drink during the setup hourā€. I told her each time that my husband (and other male family and friends) would not be excused to go drink while women were made to do all the work.
Cut to this weekend - my mom immediately asks where my useless male in-laws are going during the wedding prepā€¦ while being introduced to them. A few jaws were on the floor and I said ā€œevery man with two hands is required to help. Thereā€™s a lot to get done and the venue only allows an hour to set up decorations.ā€ This almost became a meme with a couple of the guys scrubbing glass frames as loudly as possible, offering to clean our apartment, and when there was (truly) nothing left to do they were taking coffee orders and running to get them. I seriously donā€™t know what I wouldā€™ve done without my husbandā€™s help either, I canā€™t imagine sending him away.
On the other hand, my boomer parents either showed up an hour late or extremely early to everything and then complained about how nothing was starting on time. Including my dad taking the only vehicle to go have long-winded boomer-style conversations with the employees at an audio store which held up the next event by an hour.
I had a document with all the timing, decor tutorials, and checklists that went completely ignored. They continued to brag about how useless the men in my family were - but my brother was single-handedly solving last minute issues. My parents have always been a self-fulfilling prophecy of thinking the lowest of all of our abilities. Then my mom gets frustrated when my brother and dad meet her expectations.
As a bonus boomerism - my mom kept sneaking decor, ā€œfamily traditionsā€, and other things into the wedding without asking throughout the weekend. I told her point-blank when she started confronting me with these ā€œsurprisesā€ I wouldā€™ve preferred she bring this up months ago instead of springing it on me. During the wedding I noticed she put a cake topper next to the cake (mercifully not on it) my sisters-in-law pulled me aside and said my mom had called my mother-in-law weeks ago and asked her to locate her own cake topper. My sisters-in-law noticed these toppers were not mentioned in any of the decor checklists and asked their mom to lie about not being able to find the cake topper. My in-laws truly prove boomerism is a mentality because they are the same age as my parents but drastically different.
Luckily the wedding was beautiful and Iā€™m so happy with the outcome. Iā€™m trying not to let these small details get me down (but thatā€™s a job for my therapist).

2024.05.21 08:22 verdantvictory The fruits of my first kandi sesh + massive phrase list

The fruits of my first kandi sesh + massive phrase list
https://preview.redd.it/hiftsass3q1d1.jpg?width=4624&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ee482f9518deb009b7e1fbce99fffbee2b0684b0
The normal sized beads and pony beads are from my mom's craft stuff that she hasn't used in years, and the teeny tiny beads and letter beads are from my meager stash!
Go Piss Girl was my first one ever, I want to restring it with some quirky yellow beads I found. I went through my entire bag of letter beads to find the grungiest ones.
Hello Kitty was fun, I tried it on my own and then watched a tutorial because I couldn't figure it out. The weed leaf is made with iridescent green beads, I think they're 12mm because they feel bigger than normal pony beads. I used the same ones to make the alien charm, which I designed myself and is now hanging from my rear view mirror! The charm is kinda bent because the black beads are smaller than the green ones, but I still tried to tug it pretty tight.
The Patrick star is a gift for my best friend, I was inspired by someone else on here. (Quick note: Inner star is 5 pink for body, 5 green for pants. Making this is easier of you lay out your beads first)
Bisexy Babe was an excuse to try my hand at something I saw on here, I saw someone make the little flag and I couldn't resist. It's so small that the ladder stitch flops sometimes, and my beads being different sizes doesn't help. I still love it :)
Cinephile was an experiment, I'm fully aware that I'll look like a FiLm bRo if I wear it out but it reminded me of a film reel, what can you do. So I have these absolutely miniscule glass beads from a cheapy Walmart set, and after struggling to even get the string through them I put some clear beads over them. It makes a nice sound and I think it looks kinda cool.
For Repo Man, I used the same technique in one place. I used a few tiny beads that would slip through the bigger opening of a normal pony bead, so I put a black glass bead to keep the small beads in place and then put a black pony bead over it. I really like the result! (And I found out I can't make random bracelets to save my life, all the beads on this one are very strategically placed because of their sizes and shapes and how I wanted the colors to look.) It's not a particularly sneaky reference but I still want to know who gets it šŸ‘€
Eep I'm afraid to cut the strings off of some of them because I haven't put clear nail polish on the knot yet. And I already know that elastic string isn't the best, but it's what I had on hand and I'm trying to blast through it so I don't just throw it away.
NOW FOR THE PHRASE LIST PART: I've seen lists on here and screenshots of people's lists from their notes apps, and I started gathering all my ideas into one place too. I was using a part of one of my Notion pages, but that just got too unruly. And I always had the idea for a spreadsheet, so I went ahead and made one. Sometimes I feel like I'm too organized for the kandi spirit šŸ˜…
I'm a little embarrassed to share just because it's so poindexter, and there's a lot of inside jokes and cringe shit that I'm into, but as of posting this I have 220+ entries into a Notion table (I have it set to show how many because I love seeing the number go up), and they're tagged with themes/fandoms (space, Spongebob, etc), phrase length (how many words), and I have a section for notes about how I'd like it to look. I also have inappropriate ones tagged as nsfw/vulgar so I can click over to a sanitized and presentable list if I need to.
Thanks for checking out my very verbose kandi debut! Let me know what you think!

2024.05.21 07:25 WinnerWinds Wrote my own Arch Linux install guide, based on the official one. (Looking for criticism)

I wrote my own arch linux install guide which you can find here. I tried to base it as closely as possible to the official one from the Arch Linux Wiki. I'm looking forward to all criticism and feedback. I wrote this guide mainly because of how convoluted and confusing the Arch Linux Wiki can be like. Links everywhere, sublinks for the links, big large tables; to me it felt like an encyclopedia and not a "guide". The first time I wanted to get a DE i was shot with so many options that I couldn't even choose. Let me know your thoughts on this wiki, whether it's any good or whether it's worthless crud. I'm willing to fix mistakes too. Section 3 is not yet finished as of me writing this post, but Sections 1 and 2 of the guide are done.

2024.05.21 06:03 gjs6691 How to make a rollup of a rollup?

I am not that good with the new formula system, I just wanted to know if there is any way to do this:
I have 3 tables for the manager of my store: Employees, Goals and Prices (from when they achieve certain goals).
The idea is that each month the manager sets the Goals for each Employee, then they assign a Prize to the Goal. At the end of the month they should be able to establish which Employees reached the Goals and who did the best and won the Prize.
An example would be this: I have 5 Employees; they all must sell a certain $ amount for May 2024, where the goal amount varies for each one of them. Each employee gets a score and the best score wins a gift card which is the prize assigned to this type of goal. So there are 5 Employees, each related to a different Goal (so 5 Goals) which are all related to the same Prize.
What I want, basically, is a property in Prices that tells me who won the Prize, so which Employee made the best score among the Goals related to the Prize.
The ideal would be to have a rollup in Prices that tells me the best score then a rollup of that rollup that tells me who made that score, but it's not possible.
Is there any formula I could use? A well explained tutorial I could follow?
Hope I was clear enough, sorry for the long explanation, thanks in advance! šŸ˜Š

2024.05.21 03:58 TheScoobiestDoo UE5 Help - Main Menu Gamemode Causes Core Gamemode to Break

Disclaimer - green as it gets with Unreal (and reddit), so apologies in advance for any breaches of decorum or if I'm supposed to be posting this somewhere else, I tried looking for an active "unreal help".
Been working with Various tutorials on a project, currently attempting to make a very basic turn-based TCG. In case anyone might be interested I can always send what tutorials I followed as well, not all the way sure about rules surrounding posting links to people's content here (leaning no).
If it would help to be able to see the very basic stuff I'm working with, here is an imgur link.
Before I instituted the menu the game followed a very simple "click card, move card" (not well, I was following a TBS tutorial so my "cards" currently float around and aren't very card-like). But when a "move" or "attack" action was observed, it was capable of switching the turns which was indicated by the brown banner at the top. The game is capable of setting players to be player 0 and 1, and there are 2 distinct starting locations for the player cameras to spawn in. Based on my understanding of the flow, this happens right as the game map is launched. Once two players are connected, then player0 is told "Your Turn".
When I added this "menu" into the mix, the game failed to startup the players correctly, as now both the "netMode: Server" and "client1" screens both say "opponent's turn" instead of one of them starting with a "your turn". I think this all has to do with the fact that I might not understand how the "Event BeginPlay" event works and how it interacts with other events. I also might be messing up when it comes to setting up which game mode points where. As you can see in one of the screenshots the client and server are staring at two different scenes. The one with 3 cards being the "Minimal_default", and the one with two being "Card_Table".
As I said, I think there are a few things going wrong here, and I'd love some help figuring this out. If there's anything I can clarify I'd be happy to do so. Thank you for any help you might be willing to offer.

2024.05.20 19:22 MochiGameDesign The Magic of Pre-Production in Video Gamesā€™ Development

Ok, trying to improve my writing skills, so here is this week's article! Hope that you like it and let me know what you think!
Ah, video games. Theyā€™ve come a long way from the pixelated pastures of Pong, to the immersive worlds of The Witcher and Red Dead Redemption. But while the final product gets all the love and adoration, the real hero often goes unnoticed. No, itā€™s not the caffeine-fueled programmers or the sleep-deprived designers. Itā€™s pre-productionā€”the crucial first step in video game development that sets the stage for everything to come. Buckle up, dear reader, as we begin to understand why Pre-Production in Video Games is the secret sauce.

The Consequences of Skipping Pre-Production

Letā€™s paint a picture of the worst-case scenario. Youā€™re a developer whoā€™s just spent two years on a game. The deadline is looming, but youā€™re confident because the game looks beautiful, and the mechanics are smooth. Then, during final testing, you realize the story makes no sense, the main character is bland, and the levels donā€™t connect well. Panic sets in. Thereā€™s no time to overhaul the game, and it launches to scathing reviews and poor sales.
This nightmare is all too common in the gaming industry. High-profile flops like Anthem and Cyberpunk 2077 suffered from poor planning and rushed production. The fallout? Disappointed fans, tarnished reputations, and financial losses.

Problem: Diving in Without a Plan is a Recipe for Disaster

Imagine trying to build a house without a blueprint. You start laying bricks, but halfway through, you realize thereā€™s no room for a bathroom. Or worse, you forgot the front door. Now you have a hodgepodge of walls, no plumbing, and an expensive mess.
Video game development is no different. Jumping straight into production without a solid plan can lead to chaos. Developers might spend months creating a character that doesnā€™t fit the story or designing levels that donā€™t work with the gameplay mechanics. The result? Missed deadlines, ballooning budgets, and a game that feels more like Frankensteinā€™s monster than a masterpiece.

Solution: The Power of Pre-Production in Video Games

But hereā€™s the good news: pre-production can save the day! Think of it as the gameā€™s foundation. Itā€™s where the magic happens and where crucial decisions are made. Letā€™s break down the key components of pre-production and how they pave the way for a successful game:
1. Concept Development: The Big Idea
Every epic game starts with a spark ā€“ a captivating story, a groundbreaking mechanic, or a visually stunning world. Brainstorming sessions bring ideas to the table, sketches give your vision form, and the core of your game takes shape.
Here are some prompts to get your creative juices flowing:
  • What makes your game unique? What emotional journey will players take?
  • Is there a specific genre you're passionate about? Can you introduce a fresh twist?
  • Look at existing games for inspiration, but don't be afraid to break the mould!
Resources for Concept Development:
  • Book: "The Art of Game Design" by Jesse Schell (I personally love this one).
  • Website: Game Developer (formerly Gamasutra) - A treasure trove of articles and tutorials on game development.
2. Storyboarding: Mapping the Journey
Think of storyboarding as your game's visual script. It's where you map out the plot, character arcs, and pivotal moments. This helps developers understand the narrative flow and how players will experience the story. The roadmap guides the entire development process, ensuring a cohesive and engaging experience.
Storyboarding doesn't require fancy software. Even simple sketches or flowcharts can be effective. The key is to visualize the player's journey and identify potential pacing issues or plot holes.
Resources for Storyboarding:
3. Prototyping: Testing the Waters
This is where the magic of "seeing is believing" comes in. Prototypes are essentially stripped-down versions of your game mechanics, allowing developers to test if they're fun and functional. Imagine catching a gameplay flaw early on ā€“ much easier (and cheaper!) to fix at this stage than later in production. Prototyping ensures only the most engaging mechanics make it to the final product.
There are various prototyping approaches, from basic pen-and-paper mockups to more sophisticated digital prototypes built in game engines like Unity or Unreal Engine.
Resources for Prototyping:
  • Article: "Game Prototyping: How to Prototype Your Game Idea" (upcoming article)
  • Software: Unity, Unreal Engine - These powerful engines offer features specifically for game prototyping.
4. Technical Planning: Building the Framework
Here's where we delve into the technical aspects ā€“ the nuts and bolts that make your game tick. What engine will power your creation? Are there hardware limitations to consider? How will multiplayer functionality work? Answering these questions upfront avoids nasty surprises down the line and guarantees the game is technically sound.
Technical planning requires a close collaboration between designers and programmers. Here are some key aspects to consider:
  • Game Engine Selection: Different engines have strengths and weaknesses. Unity is known for its user-friendliness and versatility, while Unreal Engine excels in creating high-fidelity graphics. Godot is open-source with a strong community. Researching available engines and considering your project's specific needs is crucial.
  • Hardware Limitations: Identify the target platforms (PC, consoles, mobile) and understand their technical specifications. This will ensure that your game runs smoothly on the intended hardware.
  • Multiplayer Functionality: If your game involves multiplayer, consider factors like network infrastructure, online matchmaking, and server capacity. Planning this early on avoids technical hurdles later in development.
Resources for Technical Planning:
5. Budgeting and Scheduling: Keeping Things on Track
Let's face it: development costs money. Pre-production is where a detailed budget is created, ensuring your project stays financially afloat. A realistic timeline with clear milestones and deadlines is also established. This keeps development on track, manages expectations, and avoids costly delays.
Budgeting:
  • Consider all development costs, including personnel (programmers, artists, designers), software licenses, assets, and marketing.
  • Buffer in a contingency fund for unforeseen expenses.
Scheduling:
  • Break down development into manageable milestones, like completing the core gameplay loop or implementing the first level.
  • Set realistic deadlines for each milestone, considering team size and workload.
  • Regularly track progress and adjust the schedule as needed.

Injecting Some Fun: Pre-Production Stories and Tips

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
One of the most beloved games of all time, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, owes much of its success to meticulous pre-production. The team spent months experimenting with different gameplay mechanics, story ideas, and visual styles before settling on the final concept. They even created a 2D prototype to test the gameā€™s physics and puzzles. This careful planning resulted in a game that felt innovative and polished.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is another masterpiece that benefited from thorough pre-production. The team at CD Projekt Red spent a significant amount of time developing the gameā€™s story and characters. They also created a detailed world map and lore to ensure the game felt rich and immersive. This level of detail and planning paid off, earning the game numerous awards and a dedicated fanbase.

Wrapping Up: The Unsung Hero Deserves Some Love

Pre-production in video games might seem daunting, especially for indie developers or small studios. But remember, even a little planning can go a long way. Start with a clear concept and build from there. Use storyboarding to map out your gameā€™s narrative and gameplay. Create simple prototypes to test your ideas. And donā€™t forget to plan your budget and timeline.
Think of pre-production as an investment in your gameā€™s success. The more effort you put in at this stage, the smoother the rest of the development process will be. Plus, youā€™ll save yourself a lot of headaches down the road.
In conclusion, pre-production is the unsung hero of video game development. Itā€™s the stage where ideas are born, tested, and refined. Itā€™s where potential problems are identified and solved before they become costly mistakes. Without pre-production in video games, even the most brilliant ideas can fall flat.
So, the next time youā€™re playing your favourite game, take a moment to appreciate the planning and effort that went into creating it. And if youā€™re a developer, embrace pre-production with open arms. Your future self (and your players) will thank you.
Happy developing!

2024.05.20 19:13 CardiologistLeast404 AITA for going out to eat without my husband/kids because they didn't wash the dishes?

Both my husband and I work full time. I work Real Estate and he works at a shipyard. We both collectively work around 50-60hr weeks. We have 4 kids. 13yo twins, 12yo, and 8mo. My husband has every weekend off. I do not.
I implicated a chore system from the time my kids were little. But ever since I had the baby and since the kids are older, ALL of them have slacked off tremendously (including husband). I pick our baby up from daycare around 5pm and when I get home, I usually find my husband on the couch on his phone and the kids in their rooms playing video games/watching make up tutorials. The house is generally a mess and honestly, the only issue I have is the dishes. I couldn't give fuck all about anything else (because the rest of the house generally isn't dirty-dirty, just cluttered). But I have expressed several times that I am tired of having to wash all the dishes in order to cook and have lashed out in some not so nice ways (shut off the Internet entirely and took the chord with me to work so no one could use the wifi/watch tv, canceled family trips, groundation, got in to big arguments with my husband). Things will change for a week to a month and then switch right back to them refusing to help. I'm honestly so tired of it that I don't even have the energy to speak up anymore.
As I said, my husband has weekends off so he and the kids were home yesterday while I worked. Before I took off for the day I told them "you guys chores had better be completed by the time I get home". They said "yes ma'am" and I leave. I text husband around 4:30p asking what they all wanted for dinner because I had to stop off at the grocery store. I pick up what he said they all wanted and walk in to my home, to find that not a single dish had been washed and there was at least 10 more dishes in the sink from when I left that morning. I also noted that only a load of laundry had been washed and was still sitting in the washer and was never switched to the dryer. Husband was on his ass on the couch watching YouTube. Kids off playing video games. Baby in her walker. So, I put the groceries on the table, packed a bag for the baby and told my husband "have at it, I'm going to Applebee's" and left. Maybe 20 minutes later he calls and says "I washed the dishes, sorry. I was super tired today." I told him that's zero excuse at all. There's 3 older kids who have chores and he couldn't even step up and tell his kids to complete anything either. It's pure laziness at this point. He said "I know, I'm sorry, I'm trying to work on it. Can you just come home, I don't know how to make this dish" (it's a pretty difficult dish but google is free). I told him no, I'm sitting at Applebee's and will be enjoying my steak and shrimp with the baby in peace and that him and the older kids can fend for themselves because apology or not, I'm not letting him off the hook here. He had me on speaker phone, so him and all the kids laid right in to me, asking me to please grab them something from Applebee's (it's all of our favorite restaurant). I said absolutely not and hung up the phone. When I returned home the groceries had been put away and apparently they had grilled cheese and cereal for dinner. My husband and kids are still pissed at me. I told them this is how it will be every single time they don't do chores from now on. AITA?

2024.05.20 12:22 Horror_Mushroom5737 Tour Guide - Episode 1: New York

Hi lovelies!
Today, I have prepared 'a little tour guide' to help you on your journey through New York, or what's left of it. I will try and describe in detail what's where and how to get through each one of the four chapters. Big thank you to u/ZekeFearMe and u/h3c4t32 for their contribution!
\please note that documents only appear during Challenge Mode! Their location is random every time, so make sure to check your surroundings thoroughly.*
\please note that breaching charges are scattered randomly throughout the level. Their location will also vary depending on difficulty.*
\I'm also putting a* spoiler tag on this - in case you're completely new to the game and would like to play it first without ruining the fun - stop reading here! ā‚į¢ā€¢ļ»Œā€¢į¢ā‚Ž
Without further ado, let's dive in!
\"Alright, let's go.\" Tashaun Burnell
Chapter 1: Descent
This should be your first mission to play, as it introduces you to the game, shows you how different scenarios work and what triggers them. Consider this a tutorial of a sort.
First things first, let's get you off that damned roof! After getting rid of the barricade and heading downstairs, you will enter a vestibule leading to a long hallway to your right and a smaller room behind a closed door to your left (sometimes there are zombies and/or Lurker just around the corner behind the door, and a collectible document has a chance to spawn on one of the tables). Switching to your silenced pistol would be a smart decision, unless you want to alert nearby zombies and fight off a swarm very early (you can also try and melee shamblers, just be aware that Lurkers may spawn in three different spots here - in a small corridor visible from the vestibule, in an office to your right once you enter the hallway, and around the corner before you enter the small dining hall). Check the small office and shoot any zombies that are around (notice the photocopier here, sometimes a collectible document has a chance to spawn on top of it).
After you reach the end of the hallway, you can either enter the small dining hall or continue to your left, through another small hallway and up the steps. The dining hall only has two points of interest: an empty pizza box (a collectible document has a chance to spawn in it), and sometimes there is a crate behind the cooking station. Careful when you pass by that small office to your left, Lurker is hiding inside. You can see him/dispose of him through the dining hall door, shooting him through broken glass (once the threat is eliminated, check the shelves with folders, there is a chance that a collectible document spawns here).
You will now enter a large open area leading to the lifts. To the left there's another office (and yet another Lurker waiting to pounce on you as soon as you poke your head in the door, there is also a chance that a collectible document spawns on the red sofa to your left), to your right is small storage room (a Lurker is sometimes waiting inside) and a brightly lit corridor (sometimes there is a medical item on one of the sofas, also Virus Sample at dead soldier's body). Continue down to the reception where the lift is - be careful, there are two possible Lurker spawns, behind the reception desk on either side. Once you press the lift button, I suggest to back off a little in case there are still passengers inside the lift car (often there's a Bull).
Exit the lift, and you will find yourself inside a large mall with hordes of zombies roaming in the streets. Taking the path to your left will lead you to a broken display with a mannequin and a dead body next to it (a collectible document has a chance to spawn here). You'll also notice a sofa that's kinda in a way - sometimes there can be a crate or item on it. Continue down the left path, and you'll reach an outlet (NADIAMI). Be careful upon entering, there is a Lurker hiding behind the counter. Make sure to search the store thoroughly (a collectible document has a chance to spawn next to the blue chair in the corner). When you're done rummaging through this floor, head down the escalators. Your first big horde battle awaits! As the grand atrium reveals itself, you will see all the zombies trapped inside. There's quite the few, but don't shoot your guns yet. Notice how there are few standing idle opposite the bridge. Walk over to the other side and search the area first (a collectible document has a chance to spawn on one of the desks in right-hand corner), set up any traps (if you have an Exterminator or Hellraiser on your team, have them put down claymores where escalators are and on both sides of the bridge), as zombies will swarm the area from both ends. Make sure you and your team has the flanks covered, and start blasting. Shoot those big star shaped chandeliers and watch pieces of falling glass slice through Zeke. The horde will quickly pile up and climb, and at the same time more zombies will begin to pour in from the escalators. Make sure to watch out for Specials; Infectors, Bulls, Juggernaut and Gas Bags. There are also two Lurker hotspots, one just behind the column on the left side coming from the bridge, and the other on top of a lift car (you can safely kill this one through the gap in the door before pressing the button).
Once there is only smoke in the air and bullet casings on the floor left, advance towards the lift on the other side (there is a red service light shining through the broken door). Drop to the atrium and notice more guns, equipment bags, heavy guns and defence kits. You guessed it - there is another big horde battle ahead. You will have some time to prepare yourself, so briefly look around (there is a chance that a collectible document will spawn next to the blue duffel bag near an ATM under the escalator, there can also be another Virus Sample, if you head down the escalator leading to the parking garage, next to the body of a soldier), and get to it! If you've read my first guide, Newbies Handbook to Zombie Apocalypse, and remember the passage discussing defence kits, you'll know what to do. But just in case; depending on what defence kits you have around, set up barbed wire all the way in the front, lay down electric grid in the same fashion, auto-turrets should be facing back to provide cover from behind, as zombies will often pour in from all directions. And stationary gun should be facing towards the gate. When you're ready or time's up, zombies will swarm in. First, from the street right in front of you. You can shoot some of the cars and have explosions kill a few. Not long into battle, zombies will start falling from above and coming from behind you - the game loves to pull this trick whenever possible, you will have to get used to it. Expect Bulls, Juggernaut and Infector, often a Gas Bag drops down too. Just watch your six and listen for auto-turrets go off and hissing or roaring of Special Zombies, that's your cue to turn around. Best strategy now is to run up the escalator, and shoot all the zombies that climb up to get you. There are also three spots where Lurkers love to hide, one is behind the sand bags, second is behind glass just a few feet away, and third is on the lift car (this one can often surprise so be careful when you hear him, he's definitely there!).
If you managed to survive, grab any heavy guns that you haven't used (any machineguns, TAIGA-12 heavy shotguns, chainsaw or flamethrower - you don't want to use any missile or grenade launchers for the final stretch - high risk of friendly fire in tight spaces), enter the code into console and head outside. The street is mostly blocked, with only one way to go - down to the subway. Before we descent, let's look around (there is usually a crate by the military truck to the right just upon entering the street, behind the white shipping container next to a body of dead soldier you may find another Virus Sample, and in broken white box behind the bus stop a collectible document has a chance to spawn). In subway, we will be greeted by more zombies, attacking a train, and you will also meet Stevie, its conductor. There will be lots of smaller swarms attacking you, with Lurkers hiding in the shadows - one is right behind the locked gate as you enter the subway, another one is around the corner in the hallway between the two staircases, then another waiting in the train car next to where Stevie is. Some are also hiding in the rooms behind locked metal doors. Your next objective is to collect supply crates - depending on difficulty and number of players, the number of crates will vary. Every time you reach a crate, swarm will come, usually accompanied by Screamer. These can be quickly disposed if there is a player on the roof of one of the train cars. Don't hang around for too long though, as zombies keep swarming in.
Before dropping off last crate, make sure to check the subway station (a collectible document has a chance to spawn behind the trash can on second floor, above Stevie's train). Final stretch can be made easier - you just have to either sprint towards the entrance of the subway all the way back, upon collecting a crate, or - you can unlock the ground floor door on the right by activating a switch through the wall and (this method however requires experienced player with greatsword - because that is the only way to get inside without having to collect crates in there - useful for Insane or Extreme difficulty) shoot incoming swarms through the door. Usually zombies break these, but this particular corridor is zombie proof. You can just wait out and slaughter whatever comes by.

Chapter 2: Tunnel Vision
So the train only got you so far; now you have to help Stevie open up gates in the tunnels to get through. Go through the door on your left and up the stairs (as you reach the boiler room and walk up the steps, notice broken white box - a collectible document has a chance to spawn in it), there will be one stray zombie, and usually a Lurker, just behind the white brick wall leading to a hallway. Another one could be hiding in the room to your left with wide open metal doors (there can also be a Virus Sample on the body of a dead soldier in the corner). If you continue straight, you will reach a small room with a ladder and blue barrels in the corner - there will be a white metal box on the ground - sometimes a breaching charge can be found here. Now head back and through metal bars into storage room. Careful! There is usually a lurker crouched behind the metal shelves, in the middle (if you look around from this exact spot there should be a carboard box next the the metal shelf, behind it a collectible document has a chance to spawn).
You will have to activate two switches here, opening a gate and leading to the next area. Lurkers love to hide behind each row of generators, one in the small room on the right, immediately after entering, there can be one under the stairs on the right hand side (if you check behind the gas canister next to the staircase across the breaching door, a collectible document has a chance to spawn here) and another one is upstairs, in a room on the left - here you may also find a breaching charge, tucked behind a wooden box. You will have to activate three switches here, there is usually one on the catwalk, one on the ground floor and one in the server room - entrance is on the ground floor, just have to climb a few steps. Careful as this area can be full of zombies, and Lurkers - one behind the wall in a small room ahead, one behind the wall with server rack - here could also be a breaching charge, just stuck in between the rack under a screen with green oscilloscope (opposite the server rack on a desk facing the corridor with metal shelves, a collectible document has a chance to spawn).
Once you hit all three switches, gate will open upstairs, leading to the main hub with a control room. If there are any defence kits that are auto-turrets, I recommend picking them up, but don't place them yet - save them for the finale. You'll thank me later. Before you enter the control room, be aware there can be a Lurker behind that metal wall. Activate the control panel, and immediately run back to the door through which you've entered the hub. Stand next to the scaffolding on top of the platform, and just shoot any zombies that pile up on the other side. Second pile, and later whatever falls down from the roof, will have to climb the stairs and a cement bag wall to get to you. You have the high ground, and there is a solid obstacle between you and incoming zombies. This method will give you huge advantage, and you will only have to deal with leftover pile after. Notice the cement mixer as you walk towards the big vent, sometimes the wooden crate that's next to it contains a breaching charge (and before you reach the vent, look inside the flipped wheel cart, a collectible document has a chance to spawn there). You can also breach into the small room under the ventilation shaft.
As you climb over the ledge, sometimes you will startle a Lurker. Press the fan control, and drop down to the next area. There are three Lurker spots; one behind the wall with the pipe just around the corner, one around the bend to the right from the first spot on a broken metal bridge, and around the last bend. There's a yellow forklift, if you check its seat closely, you may find a breaching charge. There will be some weapons and a crate in this area too. Climb the big broken pipe and move carefully into the next area (if you drop down on the right hand side and turn around, you will find a bunch of blue barrels, a collectible document has a chance to spawn there).
Here, you will have to activate three vents on three levels in order to clear out the toxic gas. The first panel is very straightforward - drop down on the left-hand side, switch the first vent on, and make your way down the obstacles (careful, there can be a lurker on either side behind the pillars). For the second panel, you'll need to find a key on one of the bodies - so start looking around (Lurkers like to hide behind the pillars on this level too). There are two entrances on each side, leading to smaller rooms and corridors with dead workers. There can also be a breaching charge behind the last pillar on the left side (next to the staircase). On the left-hand side is a hallway leading to two storage rooms (at the end of the hallway, there are two blue barrels and a wooden crate, a collectible document has a chance to spawn behind it). Enter the storage to the right, and behind the yellow forklift, you may find a breaching charge. On the right hand side is what looks like a generator room, with dead-end corridor (there can be a Virus Sample next to a dead soldier behind wooden crate in the corner) and small boiler room. Once you have the key, return to the panel and clear out the gas on the lower level. The third panel will be a little more difficult; again, you have to search the bodies, except this time they're in the gas on the ground floor (on the same floor as the third panel is, there is a small L shaped hallway to the left, opposite the stairs leading down - a collectible document has a chance to spawn on metal shelves next to a wooden crate - careful, there migh be a Lurker waiting there too). You won't last long in the toxic air, so plan your route to the corpse and back and make your trips as brief as possible. Once you have the key, wait for the ground floor to clear up and head down the stairs (take the stairs down to the left, immediately turn right and find a wooden box tucked by the pillar next to a cage - a collectible document has a chance to spawn in it).
There will be only one way to go, and that's through a corridor with metal door leading to a 'tower' - here you will have to quickly climb flights upon flights of stairs to get to safety (when you drop down and take the path to your left, you will reach a dead soldier - this is the third and last location where a Virus Sample may appear). It's easy to get swarmed and overrun, as Zeke will start to literally pour in from above and open sewer grates on the sides. You may find a breaching charge between the two boxes as you approach the bridge on the upper level. Directly above this spot, there is another place where a breaching charge can be found - on top of a cardboard box in the corner, before you enter the safe room and seal it shut. After the gate closes behind you, another one opens directly in front of you. Sometimes there will be zombies in the next room, so stay focused (there is a chance that a collectible document spawns on the shelf to the left immediately as you enter this room).
Once you leave this area, you will reach a sector 7 catwalk leading to another vent. Climb over the ledge into the vent - be careful, as there might be a Lurker around the corner to your right. If you continue straight ahead, you will reach a pile of boxes and bin bags, there can be a breaching charge there too. Exit through the vent to the right and you will find yourself in a hub again, except now on the other side. There is another control room here and a scaffolding. Remember those auto-turrets from earlier? You should have at least one or two with you, so go and place them on the top of the control room, breach the room next to it, and if there are any more auto-turrets, place them facing the control room doors. Best position to defend here is on the top of the control room (there can also be a breaching charge behind the pile of boxes in the middle) - again, you have the high ground, auto-turrets to cover your back and floor below, and there's a tunnel boring machine control panel (it's position is random though, so it can be on either side, or if you have all the documents for this chapter, there's a chance there will be two panels, one on each side).
Worry only about protecting the train, all the zombies that climb up the sides will have to climb some more to get to you, by which point they'll be long dead. Special Zombies, however, should be swiftly dealt with - they can either fall down from behind you or from one of the vents (this is also where Screamers wail from), and can close distances faster as they are more resilient. Boring machines will turn the Zeke into mincemeat in a matter of seconds, you can mount a .50 cal to thin out the herd a little, and you can use heavy weapons once the swarm reaches the train.

2024.05.20 11:44 fallen-eros-official Don't let publishers get your fans

I've seen a lot of publishers not linking the developer names on the Steam storefront to the developer page, but instead to their own publisher page. Steam allows a separate developer and publisher credit on each game so you can have it link to your personal page too.
I noticed when I want to follow a dev and I click their name it leads me to the publisher instead, which could be filled with random games and you get spammed whenever they announce a new one (some publishers are content farms, especially in the adult section)
If a player is interested in YOU they might want to follow YOU but can't. You are leaving money on the table and on the publisher's hands because:
If you don't work with a publisher you should get a creator page still, because if you don't, Steam will only list your games without a following or featuring option.
If you are or plan to go on Steam make sure you create it since day one. I haven't released a single game and haven't promoted that page whatsoever and already got a following from my coming soon page. This means people actually click on the dev's name to follow your profile. Not a lot, but not zero. They want to do it. I know because I want to do it too.
How to:
Good luck in your projects everybody.
