2024.05.21 15:50 PrisBatty Gynaecological question please

Hello, please could any of you help me. I’m 46F, 152lbs non smoker, asthmatic.
I had the mirena coil put in on the 2nd October 2022. After one week of very mild cramps I suddenly had horrific pain, reminiscent of being in labour (I have two children) except without breaks in between contractions. It was so bad I had to get my TENS machine out and was breathless with pain.
I returned to the clinic where they said the coil had pushed a polyp through my cervix. They removed the coil and the polyp and biopsies the polyp (all clear). My pain levels improved to the point where I could now stand up and speak and appear ok, but they remained really quite severe.
Over the months additional issues have occurred which my doctor believes is fibromyalgia and IBS due to the stress of the pain and chronic migraines. My eyesight has dimmed and my hands have become clumsy, dropping pots and pans and knives while cooking and chopping.
It’s now roughly 19 months later and I’m still in severe pain. Every test so far has been clear. I have had an ultrasound and a transvaginal ultrasound, an x-ray, a CT scan of my abdomen, an MRI of my head, blood tests for everything including autoimmune, a colonoscopy and an endoscopy, plus a hysteroscopy and an endometrial pipelle sample taken.
Nobody can see any reason why I’m in such pain, although they’ve all been very nice. They’re talking about a laparoscopy next which I don’t really want. I have a kid with disabilities to take care of. This all started with the coil and I feel it has to have something to do with that.
My pain is all encompassing, it feels like permanently being in labour, with that same sense of urgency. It is hard to find any joy or interest in life and I’m literally just enduring every day. I’ve been given amytripaline which helped the pain for the first two months but now isn’t doing very much to help.
Thank you for any insight or suggestions you might have. I’m quite desperate at this point.

2024.05.21 15:43 kingadrenaline Recent Grad starting a New Job

Starting a Job after college with a lot of travel. I recently graduated college as a Civil Engineer. I've accepted a job offer as a Geotechnical Engineer. The job requires me too drive to different construction sites within the Philadelphia/NJ area from King Of Prussia doing inspections and testing.
I would also need a car capable enough to drive around on this construction sites. I will also be transporting testing equipment and samples and need good cargo space.
I'm looking for a car with good mileage because of the extra travel, we recently got a electric car charger installed at the house and was thinking about getting a PHEV.
The job pays higher range in the 60 thousands and I have about 28k in debt, l'm striving to pay that off in a year and half. I'm living at home with the parents until I do and don't have any other payments.
What car would be feasible for me capabilities and budget wise.
Additional information, I will be reimbursed 0.68 a mile and might drive around 500 miles a week I'm not totally sure. I'm trading in my 2016 Nissan Rogue.

2024.05.21 15:32 Series7Guru So funny. The test taker was soliciting aid for the SIE Exam. The test taker was the solicitor. Not me.

I have already heard from that test taker that they were glad I answered their solicitation for SIE Exam.
I see someone else suggested my videos in response that test takers solicitation and you deleted.
Proving once again that you have agenda that is not about helping test takers make their mark.
I will continue to honor solicitations from test takers for aid regardless where their solicitation was made.

2024.05.21 15:31 richa_malhotra How to Avoid Scams When Buying Used Cars in Delhi?

How to Avoid Scams When Buying Used Cars in Delhi?
Buying a used car can be an economical and practical choice, especially in a bustling city like Delhi. However, the used car market is also ripe with scams and unscrupulous sellers. If you're not careful, you might end up with a lemon, losing both money and peace of mind. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you navigate the pitfalls and avoid scams when buying a used car in Delhi.
https://preview.redd.it/o8ok66kz7s1d1.jpg?width=500&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1bffa22120f9eb6b8163c60a4ef3e1539b458b94

1. Research and Preparation

Before you even start looking at cars, do your homework. Research the models you’re interested in, their market prices, common issues, and reliability. Websites like OLX, CarDekho, and Cars24 can provide valuable insights into current market trends and average prices. Being well-informed will help you identify deals that are too good to be true.

2. Choose Reputable Sources

Opt for well-known dealerships or certified pre-owned programs. While private sellers might offer lower prices, they also pose a higher risk. Reputable dealerships usually have a reputation to maintain and are more likely to offer reliable vehicles. They often provide warranties and have conducted thorough inspections.

3. Verify the Seller’s Information

Always verify the seller’s credentials. If you’re buying from a private seller, ask for identification and ensure the name matches the name on the car’s registration certificate (RC). For dealerships, check online reviews and ratings. A little bit of due diligence can go a long way in avoiding scams.

4. Inspect the Vehicle Thoroughly

Never buy a used car without inspecting it in person. Check the exterior for signs of damage or repainting, which might indicate a past accident. Examine the interior for wear and tear. Pay attention to the odometer reading; an unusually low mileage for an old car could be a red flag for odometer tampering.

5. Check the Vehicle’s History

Ask for the vehicle’s service history and check for regular maintenance records. Verify the car’s history through platforms like CarDekho or AutoCheck, which can provide information on previous owners, accidents, and service records. This can help you avoid cars that have been in serious accidents or have outstanding loans against them.

6. Test Drive

A test drive is crucial. Pay attention to how the car handles, brakes, and accelerates. Listen for unusual noises from the engine, suspension, or brakes. A test drive can reveal issues that aren’t visible during a stationary inspection.

7. Get a Professional Inspection

If you’re not mechanically inclined, consider hiring a professional mechanic to inspect the car. They can identify issues that you might overlook. This might cost a bit upfront but can save you from buying a problematic vehicle.

8. Negotiate and Verify Paperwork

When you’re ready to negotiate, be firm but fair. Ensure that all paperwork is in order before making any payment. Essential documents include the RC, insurance papers, Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate, and service records. Verify the chassis and engine numbers match those on the RC.

9. Beware of Online Scams

If you’re searching for cars online, be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true. Scammers often post attractive ads to lure buyers into making advance payments or deposits. Never transfer money without seeing the car in person and verifying the seller’s authenticity.

10. Finalize the Transaction Safely

Once you’ve agreed on a price and are ready to buy, choose a safe and secure method for the transaction. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash; bank transfers or demand drafts are safer options. Make sure the transaction is documented, and both parties sign a sale agreement.

Conclusion

Buying a used car in Delhi doesn’t have to be a daunting experience. With the right approach and precautions, you can find a reliable vehicle that fits your budget. Remember, the key is to be patient, do thorough research, and never rush into a deal. By following these tips, you can avoid scams and drive away with confidence. Happy car hunting!

2024.05.21 15:27 WeakWatercress5479 What score on the Digital SAT do you think would be enough for me?

If I wait around for someone who actually has knowledge about this topic, I'll prob get a reply by the time I'm graduating from uni so don't hesitate to answer my question after you read and get a general picture of my situation, whoever you are.
I got a score of 1260 out of 1600, in May D-SAT (640 from the Reading and Writing Section and 620 from the Math Section). I'm taking it again in the 1st of July. Unlike pretty much everyone else, I'm not taking the SAT for applying to a Uni/College in the US. I'm gonna use it to apply to a school in Istanbul, Turkey.
I'm Turkish, I live in Turkey and in our country we have a national university exam. It's the kinda exam that consumes students' joy of life throughout 12th grade and in terms of level of difficulty, SAT is nothing compared to it. It's the product of a corrupt system anyway; on average, turkish students who take the test are able to answer only 7 questions of math out of 40. It's literally designed for failure; the questions are meant to be unperceived. And if you wanna study in Turkey (which I do) or if you, financially, don't have a chance to study abroad, you gotta study hard and take it. But I learned that those of us who have another citizenship, other than the Turkish one, have alternatives. I was born in the US therefore have a USA citizenship. I'm a dual citizen. The alternative way for me is renouncing my Turkish citizenship, becoming American only, taking the SAT and applying with the score I get from it, as if I'm a foreigner who wishes to study here. Anyone who has such chance would jump on it and that's what I'm doing. But since this is a procedure that's done so rarely, what I must achieve to guarantee acceptance isn't so clear. This kinda leaves me in an uncertainty. I was able to find the minimum scores some universities I'm considering, require for applying: A uni requires min. 1200 (min. 650 from Maths), another one requires min. 1100 (min. 550 from Maths), another requires min. 1300 (min. 680 from Maths). The reason why they also have requirements specifically for the Math section of the SAT is bcuz the major I want to study is Architecture, that's why. Anyway, a college I'm also considering requires 1000 (min. 600 from the Maths) for application. I have two other colleges in mind but I just can't find the base points they necessitate. I know that my worries probably seem unnecessary when you look at these numbers cuz my performance seems fine but there are some important points that must be taken into consideration, as well: The Turkish Ministry of Education has established a certain quota for studying Architecture as a foreign student. And as if that quota isn't limitating enough, schools themselves are given the freedom to reduce that quota as they wish, so they do! Consequently, the quotas of the Architecture programs of these schools I'm looking into, range from 3 to 40, in a country with a population of 85 million lol (One of these published quotas is 3 students, another is 4, another's 15, another's 30 and another one's 40). But that's not all; also, they're not obligated to fill that quota they determine, to the brim, so they don't! Additionally, there's the fact that these are only the D-SAT scores that are required for applying (u need a score higher than the established minimums so that they don't immediately throw ur application in the trash can). It's not like u can start packing once your SAT score exceeds those published min.s. The way I see it, there's no guarantee of anything unless you get a score as high as 1400, 1500 or a perfect 1600. But obvi I'm not sure if "the way I see it" is accurate. So I wanted to ask you redditors about your thoughts. What do you think??
Approx. what score would be ideal for me, in ur opinion?
Thank you in advance :)

2024.05.21 15:16 Cute-Solid-5636 You're probably wrong about crop rotation harvest

So the popular notion is that it's best to reduce yellow crops as much as possible, so that there is 1 huge crop, well, here I am to challenge that view, hear me out.
Obviously I'm not going to argue that having as much yellow as possible is the way, instead, we want perfect balance, from what I've observed, the best thing to happen is to have around 3-4 yellow crops, and the rest of different colours, now I loosely observed, that boosting a single crop of colour works rather underwhelmingly, it seems that the more you upgrade it the less later upgrades impact the overall outcome (as I've said it's a loose observation, don't have any concrete data to back that up). Furthermore, if you happen to stumble across any video of like 20/30k+ juice harvest, it's bound to have more than 1 yellow crop (since the most you can get on a single crop is probably around 20 tier 3s and 5 tier 4s*, which in itself with 200%+ quant would be around 15k juice).
*that still requires a lot of luck not only with the crops not wilting but with the upgrades themselves
So I firmly believe that every upgrade of 1 colour is best utilised by multiple crops of said colour (probably 3-4 for the most efficient combo) since the upgrading potential of multiple crops is superior to single crop (due to aforementioned reverse snowball effect ((although not entirely confirmed))) even if it means less upgrades overall.
So I don't have any specific data in which I could isolate the factors and confirm that more yellow crops = better, since it's still heavily rng based, but from what I've run the best combination on atlas tree seems to be 3x purple reduced (reducing purple cause it's cheaper than blue) and 1x reduced yellow - I averaged 6,6k yellow juice in 100 maps, whereas with 3x reduced yellow I averaged 6,1k (it really could be due to pure rng, but I believe sample size of 100 maps should be enough)
So let me know what do you think about it, maybe someone did some more rigorous testing and observations.

2024.05.21 15:13 Rohne3 Studying in Europe? How's it?

TL;DR? Go to the 3rd paragraph.
For background: I recently completed my 12th (Physical Group) and did terribly in it because I didn't attend any college for the entire year and instead opted for a 2-hour (Physics + Chemistry + Math) tuition class at the end of Tihar due to my health condition. I was all good close to the end of the 11th, but my health condition deteriorated sharply from there on. Even without attending the college for the entire year in 12th and a month or two for 11th, my college did let me take the 12th Board Exams because they didn't want me to lose a year. The good news is, my condition has got better now and I'm pretty darn sure this stupid health issue won't bother me anymore, thanks to the extensive treatment I got. So, I'm up and ready to study, I want to study abroad but I know that due to my expected low GPA, I'm not going to get any scholarships, and I can't afford the massive tuition fees of most abroad countries universities, but I still want to study abroad, so I researched a bit about countries that offer no tuition fees or nominal tuition fees, and it's European countries, I've researched a bit about them but I do have questions.
From what I know, only Germany & France & some Nordic countries have no tuition fees or nominal tuition fees and I can afford the living costs in these countries as well. So, these are my preferred destinations, but there's a big hurdle, there are extremely few to no undergraduate courses whose language of instruction is English only, it's usually completely in the native language or a mix of it and English. So, to attend most of the courses, I have to learn a foreign language. However, I did find some courses that also, fortunately, match my interest and are taught completely in English in Germany. And, since the schooling length before university is 13 years in Germany, I have to attend either a preparatory course or a university for a single year here in Nepal, I chose the latter since I'll be attending a course completely taught in English. Btw, I'll be studying Engineering Physics or Electrical Engineering.
Now, talking about the universities that I found that offer courses in English, one has ranked 200-300 above/better than Tribhuvan University, and all others have ranked far worse than TU. So, these are my questions,
1)If I somehow didn't get into the higher-ranked university, is it still worth studying a program at a German university whose rank is lower than TU? Should I choose to study in Germany or TU in that case?
2)If I did get into the higher-ranked uni, it would take me a total of 5 years to complete the bachelor, would it be worth it?
3)Are there any universities in Germany, France, or the Nordic countries with no tuition fees or nominal tuition fees that consider aptitude tests (which I'm good at) than Nepali GPA?
4)Or, should I just crack exams like IOE and study engineering in Nepal and apply abroad after my bachelor's?
If you have any important information regarding studying in Europe, then please drop it in the comments.

2024.05.21 14:59 WeekendDense1916 The Helicobacter Pylori medication has only made it worse.

Keep in mind that I live in a country with a good universal health care system, but in my opinion the administrative part works poorly, and as I think this is taking too long, I have come here to ask for help. Also, they have changed my doctor in the middle of the process, which has slowed everything down. (English is my third language, I'm sorry for my mistakes, or if my expressions are not correct).
28F, 1,61m (5'3''), 57kg (125lbs), I take one pill a month of vitamin D, I don't smoke, I drink very very rarely and I don't do drugs.
I first went to the doctor in mid-January for digestive problems. I have always been prone to diarrhea, but the last few weeks it had been worse than usual. A week later I had blood drawn and gave a stool sample. The blood was fine, but I tested positive for Helicobacter Pylori.
10 days of Pylera medication (120 pills) and 2 gastric protectors per day. I had some discomfort but within normal side effects. I was told that I had to wait a month from the end of the treatment until I was tested again to see if we had killed the bacteria. Two weeks after finishing the treatment I started bleeding every time I went to the bathroom. It wasn't red blood, but it wasn't black either. A dark maroon maybe (?) and with small clots. I called the clinic and they told me that unless it got worse I should wait and that at the test they would do at the end of the one month period they would also do a stool blood test. I bled for a week and a half and by the time the test came back it stopped. Obviously I was negative for blood in stool. Also negative for Helicobacter. But less than a week later I bled intermittently again for a couple of weeks.
Since then I have not bled anymore, but my digestion is bad, different from when I first arrived, but bad. I have the feeling that the medication has spoiled me more than helped.
I have a lot of gas. I have never burped unless it was from drinking a lot of carbonated drinks, but now I am burping a lot every day. My stomach is making noises almost every day. I wake up in the middle of the night with a very sore stomach and when I go to the bathroom it's just to fart, I can sit for half an hour waiting for it to pass. I can't go for a run, a quarter of the times I would go to the gym I cancel because I don't feel well or I do an exercise and I feel dizzy. I don't do abdominal exercises because I feel like everything gets too shaken up. Going out with friends has also reduced. I haven't found an eating pattern that feels bad for me, but I have a very varied diet. It's like until I eat I don't know how I'm going to feel that day.
After many appointments with my family doctor I have finally been given an appointment with the specialist, but it is for a month and a bit from now. June 28th (the appointment request was made on May 1st). I started with this in January, I know I don't need to go to the ER, but I'm tired and I want to get back to normal life without worrying if my stomach will react well that day.
Any help would be appreciated.

2024.05.21 14:55 semi-surrender Differences between Elecare and PurAmino?

I'm sorry for posting what I'm sure has been posted about before.
My daughter is 8 weeks old and is still struggling with a diagnosed cows milk protein allergy.
Long story very short, we went through a variety of formulas trying to figure out what was going on. She wound up on Nutramigen until she pooped blood. We brought the diaper to the doctor and they tested it, confirming her CMPA.
They gave us some samples of PurAmino and put in a prescription for it. Because of a nationwide shortage, we were not able to get the PurAmino and they switched her to Elecare. We did use the sample cans of PurAmino though.
We were also given a prescription for famotidine (pepcid) because she was vomiting. We were told to do a week of it, followed by a week without it, to see if we noticed a difference. My spouse and I agreed that we thought those meds actually made the vomiting worse - possibly because it allowed her to drink more at once, which resulted in more vomiting. We decided, and the doctor agreed, not to use it anymore.
About a week ago, my daughter pooped mucus on the Elecare. We brought the diaper into the doctor again, and it tested positive for blood again. Our ped diagnosed her with infant colitis and said since she's already on amino acid formula, there's nothing else more sensitive to switch her to. She did say that if we thought she did better on the PurAmino, we could try switching back to that since there are slightly different ingredients in the elemental formulas, and the shortage is apparently over. At the time, we didn't see a need to switch "back" and decided to keep her on the Elecare.
Well, this past week has been awful. My daughter is pooping straight liquid now and is vomiting about 5x per day, which is more than she was. I called yesterday and they're putting in a prescription for the PurAmino instead.
I also put in a refill for the famotidine because I figure it's worth trying again.
My questions are: Has anyone had improvement by switching from one amino acid formula to another? Has anyone's baby had these kinds of symptoms and have any other suggestions for us?
It's killing me as her mom to watch her struggle.

2024.05.21 14:53 hises1995 1.5 years of really healthy and good relationship

Almost 2 years dating, we had and amazing day at the beach, even talked about engagement rings… and when we got home he broke up with me. Background: When we met I told him about how Im applying for some government recruitment exams that would probably be out of the state. He said it wasn’t a problem and even traveled with me for some tests. 1 year and a half later he decided it’s not for him anymore. Im not devastated, just a little bit sad that some our life choices can push away people we love…

2024.05.21 14:50 chicorita_ Need help regarding what to do next. Open to all kinds of options available.

I just completed my BCA with a cgpa of 8.xx in the last year. And idk what to do next at all. I didn't sit for placements as I did not have the confidence to. I gave MAH MCA CET and got 99+ percentile. I'll most likely get admission in one of the top 3 colleges for MCA in Maharashtra. I have filled the form for NIMCET but with only 15ish days remaining I dont think I can do anything much in that considering I am Open. I have the options of preparing for MSc Data Science from some colleges if I give their tests. Should I focus on that instead? Also what after that? Should I do a job or should i prep for more exams like CAT or GATE? I am good at studying smart ig. Because with the least efforts I get a satisfactory score always. But ig that's also my weakness if ykwim.
I was not in a good college for BCA so I was not motivated much & do not have much knowledge in DSA. I am good at prompts and using chatgpt. And better than many of my peers but I feel its nothing at all compared to people who are genuinely interested in the field. I have also done 2 data science and machine learning courses from my college. But yet again they are not good enough for me to actually get an internship or job based on that alone.
I'm very confused as to what path I should select or atleast aim for so that I have some purpose and motivation. Would be grateful for some help regarding exploring different options that could be compatible with me.
myquals : 10th—93% ,12th—89.50% , UG(BCA) — 8-9.xx cgpa , MCACET — 99.18 percentile , MBACET — 95.8 percentile.

2024.05.21 14:49 towen564 Anything to take that will help with popping too often?

So I pop a minimum of 6/7 times a day (7 is a good day). I’ve read that psyllium husk could help reduce the frequency? Is there any anecdotal evidence in here for these claims?
Is there anything else that might help?
I’m awaiting a colonoscopy btw. Also, had stool samples and blood tests come back clear.
I just want to reduce the frequency. It’s so depressing and affecting my life a lot.

2024.05.21 14:46 DakuNo2 Some beautifully heartbreaking flashbacks from college

I’ve never posted here before but I feel like I have a story that will resonate with you all.
—— Edited to add: I (26F) was diagnosed at the age of 24. So this happened pre diagnosis. ——
I was reminded today about my days in college and how I was a much better student in college than I was in school.
Where I come from, any child who does well in school is pressured into pursuing STEM in college. Fortunately, I was never good in school (too inattentive) and my parents were not the kind to pressure me into doing anything (they tell me now, that I was never the kind to listen to anyone. Sounds familiar?).
So naturally, when I went to college, I chose courses that seemed interesting and fun to me. I chose to major in literature. In my college, you have to apply for a seat toward the end of your 2nd year (it’s a 3 year course).
The list of students who made it to the final year was released announced on a WhatsApp group. My name wasn’t on it. 30 minutes later, there was another text. It read:
“After careful consideration, we’ve decided to chosen 4 more students to sit through the course despite their poor records.
  1. Some kid
  2. A different kid
  3. A third kid
  4. OP
Please keep in mind that you all will have to work harder and improve your record moving forward.”
My grades weren’t too bad but my attendance was pretty low. So I guess it’s fair.
Now, our faculty was by far the best in the city but since they had known all the students for 2 years, their minds were set. Even us students knew where we stood with them. It’s not unfair to say that they were biased. They liked the kids that they liked and rightly so. These students were very engaged in class, always participated in conversations, wrote poetry, etc. I didn’t do any of that. While I enjoyed literature and reading and ruminating (I had moments when I genuinely believed that my introspection skills were superior to some of the best students but I’d dismiss it because if I was so good then I’d be more liked by the faculty right?), I was never able to pay attention in class. I used to be zoned on all the time. This is why my attendance was so low. I was really scared of being called out by the professors for not paying attention. Anyway, I used to score average grades in my class projects and tests. Not bad at all but not great either. However, our semester-end exams used to be held in a different college and they were graded anonymously.
When our exam results were announced, I scored the highest grades in my course (I figured this out because everyone was sharing their score on the WA group). The next day, everyone in class was talking about how the exams were so difficult and it’s so difficult to score well. One of our professors said, “Yeah, I really don’t know what happened this time. Some of the brightest students scored poorly while some of our lowest graded students did very well. It’s messed up.” And then she asked, “Who had the best score out of all of you?” I raised my hand and she said, “OH”.
I can see the humour in it now but I remember feeling humiliated back then. There was no convincing her. For her, this was an act of God. Under no circumstances could she be a human being who was biased towards charismatic people and didn’t favour those who were hard to like (totally fair, btw. I mean not entirely fair but I get it). It was all some conspiracy to her. And honestly, I had been failed by the system so many times by that point, that I believed her.
I feel really sad for that young woman who failed to succeed on most days and even when she managed to win one, those wins were invalidated.
Anyway, I thought this story belonged here. I hope it acts as a reassurance for you all. May we find the strength to believe in ourselves and let ourselves celebrate our accomplishments because they’re too far and few between.
TL;DR: My achievements were undermined by a professor because I wasn’t a model student.
