I’ll try to cut this really short so it’s not too long and not understandable a few weeks ago I turned in my device to Best Buy so that they could send it out for repair and today was the day that I was supposed to go and pick it up when I got to the counter. The representative told me that I needed a state issued ID in order for me to pick up my device, I told her I had forgotten it and that I would look in my car while I was looking around in my car. I remember that the email thread that was sent to me said that I could either use a state issued ID or email to be able to pick up the device I’ll add a picture so you guys can see when I went back inside and told her about this. She said that this was incorrect and that I did need a state issued ID bottom line is I’m just really not happy that I was not able to pick up my device with just the email, even though that’s what it said again from what I understand and I get that having a state issued ID seems common sense in order for me to pick up my device, but dammit if the email says I can use it as well as proof I should be able to if not, they should just take away the wording.
I really do just feel frustrated because I have to drive an hour to the store and just leave empty-handed. Am I bad for filling this way because right now it doesn’t seem like it’s my fault .
I also went to complain to an agent:
Customer Care agent: Thank you for choosing Best Buy, my name is Helen K. How may I assist you today?
Customer Care agent: Hello, nice to have you on chat!
You: I have a complaint Helen. Please understand I am not mad at you but I am just really disappointed at the moment.
Customer Care agent: I am sorry for that!
Customer Care agent: Please let me know about your complaint!
You: Today I was suppose to go in and pick up my device that was ready for repair. I scheduled an appointment and arrived early. Once I went to the counter I spoke with the agent and they notified me that I needed my State Issued I.D to pick up my device.
Customer Care agent: I completely understand!
You: I went to my car and unfortunately did not have my I.D present but did remember that the email that was forwarded to me mentioned that I could present either my I.D. OR the email for pick up
You: When I went to the counter the agent mentioned to me that this was a mistake and could not hand me my device without an I.D even though the email said that I could use it as proof.
Customer Care agent: I understand, sorry for the inconvenience caused!
You: I am just unhappy at the moment because the store is roughly and hour drive from my home for me to leave empty handed. And again I am not angry at the worker, or you Helen but at whoever at corporate Best Buy with either completely mislabeling things on email or for not providing proper training to there colleagues.
Customer Care agent: I would like to inform you that whenever you visit the store for picking up any item, you should compulsorily have government issues ID card for your safety purpose.
Customer Care agent: So that no one can visit the store and by showing the email confirmation without any ID proofs, other may take the +
Customer Care agent: take the product and you may lose your product!
Customer Care agent: Just for verification purpose our store team will ask you to carry the government issues ID card!
Customer Care agent: I can certainly understand your concern, but we are extremely sorry for the miscommunication happened!
You: I understand this Helen and completely agree with it. But Best Buy’s information should NOT say; in a figure of giving me an option to take an I.D. OR to show proof with the email. That’s a blatant lie and should be taken down from the email transcript.
Customer Care agent: No worries, I would inform this to our higher authorities to clearly mention about this.
Customer Care agent: Please rest be assured, this mistake won't repeat again!

Hey everyone. I’m currently living in Spain working as a English teaching assistant. I have a student visa and a TIE card set to expire 6/30/2024. I have started the TIE renewal process but am leaving to return back to the US for a summer job before I can finish the process and get the physical TIE card. I got a regreso to indicate I’ve started the process but it expires August 7, 2024, and my summer job ends August 5. I don’t think it’s feasible to get back to Spain before the regreso expires. To complicate things, I will also be in Spain for the summer job (it’s a US hiking camp that has international trips) from June 22- August 3. I am trying to get another regreso appointment but it’s looking like I will be unable to get one before I leave on June 2. I was wondering if people have any advice/best course of action. Some things I am considering are… 1. Coming back on Aug 7, 2. Risking it and coming back sometime before September, 3. Flying into Portugal or France and then taking a bus into Spain after Aug 7…

With the dramatic increase in price for basic necessities such as food here in Montreal and with my disability payments changing from every two weeks through salary insurance to once a month through the long term disability option of the health insurance I get through my work, I have Ben struggling to make ends meet.
I currently have no food in the house and no money to go to the grocery store. While the end of the month is not too far away, I only get my check on the 31st of May, which leaves me worrying about how I'm going to survive the next 10 days with no food.
Due to my health conditions and due to food intolerances that are so severe that eating those foods can land me in the hospital for weeks, unable to even take a sip of water without throwing up, I can't rely on quick and usually cheaper food items like bread, pasta, and other gluten containing foods, as well as carb heavy foods such as potatoes, since I developed a low tolerance for carbs (high carbohydrate meals trigger my nausea and vomiting disorder (currently awaiting to do a gastric emptying study to determine if the current diagnosis of treatment resistant severe cyclic vomiting syndrome and idiopathic intracranial hypertension is actually gastroparesis)).

We did it! My partner (27F) and I (27M) closed on our first house today. In one of the most statistically unaffordable areas of Washington state, our search, like many of you, was not easy! We looked at probably 30 homes over months and months. We offered above asking on many and were immediately blown out of the water by cash buyers every time. It was easy to become disheartened. But our persistence paid off to get a 3bed 2.5bath 1700sqft in our dream neighborhood, where we’d thought we were priced out from a long time ago!
My partner and I have average incomes. Combined about $130k. We work hard and have zero debt. Paid off student loans, no car loans, no credit card debt and scraped together 20% on a $550k+ house with no assistance from friends or family. We lived in a 700sqft studio together for 4.5 years to save. We felt like many of you, in disbelief of how we could ever possibly afford to buy anything at all, and many times thought that maybe it’s just not possible for us. Please let this inspire others that it truly IS possible! Keep your heads up, stay persistent and you WILL find what you’re looking for! God speed and good luck!

Hello y’all. I usually don’t post on Reddit. But I actually DON’T. But today I feel different and I’m open to all opinions.
A small backstory. I’m a 31 year old male who works a fairly okay job in Illinois. I didn’t grow up having my parents, but I had my auntie and uncle and other family members including my sister to try and guide me. They’ve done their best to try and assist me with life but sometimes I still feel so behind. There’s so much I’ve had to learn on my own due to all of them being significantly older and they can only do so much for me, which is something I understand and never try to question, just appreciate.
I’ve spent a lot of time moving from house to house growing up until about 5/6th grade but I’ve gone through some things in my childhood that I feel as if have affected me as a man til this day and I’ve been trying to shake the past but it feels daunting even trying to confront these things. I’ve always been a to myself type of person, a few friends but not so much of a solid circle so it’s limited on who I feel as if I can confide in.
Lately I’ve been feeling just in a rut trying to find out who I am. My job is okay but it feels redundant as of now nor is it enough. I’m bad with being financially responsible but I’ve been TRYING to get better getting myself a HYSA this year. I’ve been in debt for so long but I’m trying to improve, recently paying off a $6000 credit card but i have 2 more to go. I just feel like sometimes I’m running low and tired all the time. I really don’t want to tell my friends or family because I don’t want to stress them out or have to worry. I feel like I’ve been fighting an uphill battle my whole life and at 31 I feel worn out sometimes. Defeated some days. I haven’t had fun in a long time because I want to actually be in a good spot mentally. I want better for myself but some days I feel powerless. I want to be able to provide but I feel.. weighed down.
There’s so much more to say here but this will probably be my first and last post on here.
Sorry if this is such a long explanation and all over the place but I just felt the need to express myself and I’m wondering how anyone else has dealt with or has had these feelings before.

To provide some clarity, I work at a consultancy firm which has ranks of experience. People come in at rank 1 and progress to rank 6 over time. Numbers used for brevity and ease of understanding rather than the actual job titles.
I've been trying to progress in my career for a while up to rank 4 (I am current Rank 3), however it has stalled with the company saying I need to do more work (as in, be charged to a customer at the rank) at a rank 4 level to prove I can do the job. I've been with the company for 6 years now (started at Rank 1) and the past 6-9 months I've looked at the work I've been doing and nearly all of it has been charged to customers at a Rank 5 or higher level.
I'm normally fine with this, however it's starting to grate on me that I've stalled in progression with the company asking for more 'proof' seemingly indefinitely.
I will also clarify that I like the work I do, I like the people I work with and the benefits are nice too. The only thing is the progression and now the feeling like I'm being used rather than this being a business relationship.
The question is the following: If I refuse to do Rank 5 and higher work, will they have grounds for any disciplinary actions? If I refuse to do the work because "It's above my experience", will they have grounds for gross misconduct?
As a followup, if I'm unhappy with this state of affairs, is there any service in the UK which will assist with this kind of thing?
Whilst I'm not going down this path (yet), I'd like to be aware of my options and potential repercussions. I'm aware I could play the 'call my bluff' game of handing in my resignation, but that's the last-ditch card for me.

What are my odds of getting my money back?
I went in on 4/27 to have purple removed from my ends and get an all-over color. I had a reference photo (first picture) and showed it to the stylist. She said we could totally get there that day.
She put color remover on my ends and had me pick a swatch from a color book. I picked one that looked very close to the photo and reminded her that I wanted a medium/dark blonde and I didn't want my hair to be too warm. She bleached my hair instead of going darker, the ends turned green, and I was left with very light, very warm hair. (I also got a cut that I hate because the layers look very choppy to me and the ends look horrible.)
She suggested putting in lowlights to make it look darker, but never toned my hair. My hair didn't even take the lowlights and I left that day feeling so ugly. She told me to come back on 5/1 and she would fix my hair. I paid with the expectation that the next appointment would fix my hair. (Pictures 2-4 are after the initial appointment.)
But when I went back, she did nothing to fix my cut and only added the lowlights that my hair did not take the first time. Did not tone my hair and said she wouldn't put color all over because then all of my hair would turn green. I left crying and out $250.
I called on 5/4 because I had washed my hair the night before and it was just falling out every time I touched it. I know how much hair I normally lose when I brush/wash/etc. and this was so much more than what was normal for me. The woman who picked up the phone (the assistant manager) said I would have had to go in that day to have my hair fixed but there were no more appointments available. Any day after that, I would have to pay again to have it fixed. I told her that I was already in to have it fixed and was incredibly unhappy and just wanted my money back so I could have it fixed elsewhere. She hung up.
I called back and a different woman picked up and said the same thing. I asked to speak to the assistant manager again (the manager was the one who did my hair and I don't think she was there when I called) and the woman said she did not want to speak to me and I could call back on Tuesday.
After I hung up, I filed a dispute/chargeback with my credit card (Capital One) because they were refusing to even talk to me. I heard back today and the salon just gave them a receipt from my initial appointment and Capital One applied the charge to my card again. I'm able to respond, though.
If I do respond, what are the odds of me getting my money back? I still have horrible hair and cannot afford to pay for this service and drop another $200-300 on my hair so soon. The pictures from the back (5 and 6) are from after she fixed it and right after I got back from the salon and the next photo was taken right after I went inside.

2024.05.21 22:32 Zackiemoon Results of 5M on packs (Pyrrhic victory)

TLDR: Guys simply put it's ALMOST impossible to pack a mid/top player in this game. Late 30s fut founder here PC player, played every edition of FUT ever made up until Fifa 18 then stopped until it was on sale during TOTY in Jan. for both 23 and now 24 (Will be my last year, but it's mainly due to the horrible gameplay they keep making more assisted and crap every edition).
I've been playing less and less recently but decided to spend one last weekend playing WL (my 2nd all year)and doing one last blowout, spending all my coins in the process. I spent a shameful number of hours this weekend doing an absolute metric fuck ton of SBCS, and a horrifying number of exchange packs. Up until this point I hadn't packed a single player over 1M coins, but that is the intended design of this game at this moment, to keep you completely engulfed in search for that super extremely rare card. Sure some people play this game for the gameplay (lol it's terrible) but I would bet most play for that still fun squad building aspect and the dopamine of packing a good or valueable player (ie. player that they couldn't afford with coins).
I don't have the total exact numbers of the amount of picks and La liga exchange packs, nor the nearly countless rating exchange packs I did but I do have the total results of every blue I pulled all weekend. I am extremely lucky to admit I did actually pull the one player I was after, Vini (in 650k La Liga pack).
