Hello,
Last year I moved in with this girl let’s call her G. During this year G caused a lot of damage to the apartment including paint in her carpet, broken blinds etc. Well our lease ended and we got our final bill which showed our damages. The only money I owed was for administrative fees and the last month’s worth of water and sewer charges. That was it. All of the damages were to the master bedroom. (Her room). It was $250 for the master bath tub/shower resurface, $25 due to master blinds, $50 drywall repair, and $700 prorated carpet replacement. When I called the complex about the carpet they did explain to me that they had to replace the carpet due to the damage in the master bedroom. I have photos to even show the black stains in her carpet VS the living room carpet and carpet in my bedroom. The total of the damages and move out fees were $1283. I also would like to add in July I sent her $485 to setup our electric. She promised me she’d pay me back half and then that half turned into a free tattoo (she’s a tattoo artist) but I wasn’t interested in the free tattoo. I wanted my money. Looking back it was VERY dumb sending her that money. I should’ve setup the account myself. But I was dumb and naive. She has now closed this electricity account I believe which means she should have gotten some of that deposit back but I never saw my money again. When I brought it up before she completely ignored it. So someone please tell me if I’m being stupid by even thinking small claims court. I reside in Florida so I believe it definitely can go to court.

So DIY'er here, not a professional. But I've been redoing about 1200 sqft of flooring in our house recently and just finally finished up with the last bit, the stairs
(I know, don't put vinyl on stairs, but the original wood treads underneath weren't worth finishing and our cats ripped up the previous carpet that was there, so I glued down vinyl using Loctite Heavy Duty Latex)
The issue is how to do the nosing. I posted here before, but my treads have a nose on them that is 1.5" thick. I can't cut the nose off or make the riser flush as the treads are already only 8" deep, any narrower and its an issue. It's a very shallow step.
Initially I thought my only option was to install this thick metal tap down nosing, which honestly didn't look bad, but after testing out a step of it, it felt uncomfortable and unsecured without glue. So I had a thought, I took some scrap vinyl and taped it up to the nosing, and put the regular vinyl nosing over it instead. Nothing glued yet but I would.
I can't help but think this looks way better than the metal. Am I wrong? Would you guys go this route vs the metal nosing? Pics attached for comparison
(I know you can custom order special matching treads that come with a pre-made nose to cover this, but the cost was nearly $1000 and I didn't want to pay that on a house I'm selling in less than a year anyways)

 | So I got my chi, Jellybean in December. She's two and hasn't been spayed yet. She's overall a really sweet girl. To solve this we went to scheduled meals vs free munching. However she would sneak away and eat his if we were even a tiny bit distracted. So she now eats her meals in her kennel. When I got her she was halfway potty trained. So we use potty pads and located them in the places she wanted (not really where we wanted lol) and she did fine for a bit but then she started going everywhere. So we resorted to diapers. (She refused to go outside at first because of the snow so we worked around that, and now that the weather is better she goes out tons and loves it) she still tries to mark, and has ruined the couch and carpet. (I'm hoping when my partner finds another job we can get her spayed and that will help) All that is doable tbh. But what's getting hard is her mouthing off and defiance. I'm trying to get her to wait while I get ready to take the pups out vs hopping around excitedly. (Which is rather cute but after tripping on her in February and breaking my wrist I can't let that happen again because next time she might get hurt) She screams like a demon lol and gets very mad when told off for anything. It's stressing my partner out pretty bad when I'm at work. We use squirt bottles for the pups and cats when needed and on everyone but jellybean it works. I'm really at a loss on how to get her to calm down and listen. Especially when it's really important. (Like when she darts out the door and doesn't come when I call her until she feels like it, and when she does come to me I just pick her up and gently tell her that was icky and she needs a timeout and put her in her kennel for a few) Sorry for such a long post but my partner is at a breaking point and is almost at the point of wanting to rehome her. If you know your metal history, you'll know that Metallica hired Jason Newsted after the unfortunate passing of Cliff Burton. Because the band wasn't mature enough to really handle the situation they found themselves in and as a result never truly treated Jason well. From bullying and hazing to straight up turning down his parts on albums. When he finally after 14 years had enough and wanted to do his thing elsewhere, they replaced him with Robert Trujillo, who for whatever reason they welcomed with open arms and love in comparison, almost like a jilted ex showing off their new asset to upset their former partner.
Now we get to Slipknot. While they weren't grieving Joey passing yet for a few years, they let him go and immediately had Jay Weinberg and V-Man both on the backburner, not full fledged members welcome at first, the whole hiding their identities and giving them similar boring masks as well thing for a few months. Fast forward these 10 years since now, and Jay is out of the band. And compared to how the band handled business with Jay, they hired Eloy Casagrande and literally rolled out the red carpet with a grand welcome they've never given a replacement. They're already talking about him in a better manner than they ever really did Jay.

While they weren't grieving Joey passing yet for a few years, they let him go and immediately had Jay Weinberg and V-Man both on the backburner, not full fledged members welcome at first, the whole hiding their identities and giving them similar boring masks as well thing for a few months. Fast forward these 10 years since now, and Jay is out of the band. And compared to how the band handled business with Jay, they hired Eloy Casagrande and literally rolled out the red carpet with a grand welcome they've never given a replacement. They're already talking about him in a better manner than they ever really did Jay.
