It's another beautiful experience with Nexa Tourism Almaty Trip 2023 My heart felt thank you note to the below ambassador's who is working for Nexa Tourism to ensure best customer service is rendered too. 1) It's Aisha who has done my last four trips very well, has directed me to Harleen and she promptly mailed trip destination quote. It's was quick and professional. Thank you so much to both. 2) Stella who kept a check on me on my arrival at Almaty and provided all travel details promptly. I being as solo traveller she was in touch with me till I landed back to Dubai. She is very professional and caring towards her customers. 3) The Tour guide Andre from Almaty, he has done exceptionally well in his assignment. On an humanitarian ground, he has exceeded beyond his job description, be it taking good care of elderly person or kids comfort. I must say Andre is very grounded, polite man and his humanitarian approach with tender smile has won my hearts. He is very focused, disciplined, loving and caring through out the trip to ensure all people are in same sync. I wish Andre a good luck and he is surely a real asset to the company. Even the bus driver and hotel reception lady hold good and cordial approach. Few points to add for better experience 1) Special facilities for elderly people care and kids can be good option to consider. 2) Lunch at decent hotels if booked or selected in advance can save guest time provided food, staff availability to serve exist before tourist arrive. 3) Strict time line to be shared with tourist in advance prior site scene can save others waiting time. Beyond certain time, bus must leave. Tour guide don't have to run behind tourist to board the bus. A certain spot to be fixed and it's solely tourist responsibility to assemble on time for pick and drop out. 4) Exclude Green bazar, Al Marsan Gorge, Girls tear water valley, it's waste of time climbing rock to see just a small water valley. Thermal bath at Almarasan Gorge is not so great feel. Thermal bath in a small tub with luke warm water, I don't see any hygiene guidelines or water getting drained out after a person has used it.
Best view was Shymbulak Ski Resort, Panfilov guardsman, Ko Kobe Hill Top, Show of hunting birds, Lesnaya Skazka Resort zipline, cable care.
Hotel stay and food was good.
I enjoyed the trip. It's nice beautiful place to visit. Traveling with Nexa tourism is hassle free, value for money and satisfaction. Its my Third trip with Nexa in last four years. Looking forward for the next trip. Thank you Nexa Tourism.

"The most recent edition of Puck's "What I'm Hearing" newsletter contains a deep dive into the state of play at Paramount Pictures amid the ongoing process of selling its parent company. The report contains some fascinating information about the future of Star Trek movies, and reveals the contract negotiations for Simon Kinberg to come aboard and produce the new origin movie. Read the full quote from What I'm Hearing below:

And I’m told Simon Kinberg, the prolific producer of X-Men and other Fox-Marvel movies, is negotiating to join Star Trek as its new steward in film. If his deal closes, Kinberg will technically produce just the prequel being directed by Toby Haynes (Andor) and written by Seth Grahame-Smith.
But since Star Trek 4 has script and schedule issues with that famous (and expensive) cast, the prequel will likely shoot in early 2025 and could very well end up as a reboot. Plus, Paramount sees Kinberg as a franchise shepherd à la Alex Kurtzman for Trek TV projects, even though J.J. Abrams remains as a producer. Whether that new film is a Paramount or Sony release remains a question to be answered by Shari Redstone, of course, but the studio’s other suitor, Skydance, does retain its option to co-finance and produce the Kinberg Trek movie."

Currently, Simon Kinberg is in negotiations only to produce the Star Trek origin movie, written by Seth Grahame-Smith, and directed by Toby Haynes. This makes a lot of sense as Kinberg already has a working relationship with Grahame-Smith from producing the movie adaptation of his novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter back in 2012. The most interesting element of Puck's report is the implication that, should the origin movie perform well, Paramount may drop Star Trek 4. If the Star Trek origin movie becomes a defacto reboot for the movie franchise, then it will need some creative stewarding from a producer with a creative vision."

I was helping my friend the other day where several of his VALORANT clips was starting to gain views on YouTube and he wanted me to translate some Chinese subtitles for him. I didn't know the names of agents in Chinese, so I booted the game in Traditional Chinese. But then I found out the names they have for VALORANT Taiwan/Overseas are not the same for VALORANT China.
If you didn't know, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese are usually one-to-one (except one uses less strokes, CCP history, etc.) and they both can usually be perfectly understood on both sides, meaning any name in Taiwan would also work in China and vice-versa.
These discrepancies can also be found with the name of guns and the game itself. I created a list for myself when translating my friend's videos in the future and decided to share it here. All of my searches were done through Baidu and extensive trial & error image searching, but alas, I got most of the info down. I also used VALORANT mobile gameplay footage to help.
I'm planning to visit the Mainland within a year or so to try and see these images for myself. I also made a Reddit account just for this post, so excuse my absolute noob-ness. :P

I responded to a call recently on a solar group for people to express interest in having discounted solar installed in exchange for them to be inspected by MCS once the install is complete. A little suspicious ("if it sounds too good to be true...") and wasn't expecting a response, but I've since been sent a quote from what seems to be a reputable local company with great reviews with the following quote:

£6,780.00
The install would be a mixture of flat and pitched roof. Is this actually a good deal, and how good would the kit be (never heard of SolaX before, more familiar with SunSync and GivEnergy).
The company allow you to schedule calls to discuss the quote and also email with questions. I have currently requested that the quote includes bird proofing. I also realised that they may run into issues with our roof as it's a rubber single ply membrane all over which could cause issues with leaking if it's punctured and not adequately sealed so I have raised this with them (if anyone has any experience with fixing panels to rubber roofs - both flat and pitched - please let me know!)
I would like to sell excess electricity back to the grid - will I need to request this as an additional consideration?
Let me know if there's any other ways I can vet them as being legit/check this isn't a scam. If we were to go ahead, we would be paying by credit card for additional buyer protection.

If this was the first case that someone was exposed to, some obvious questions they might ask could be:

Those are some great questions and if anyone actually asks them, I'll give my response in the comment-section but today I'm interested in talking about something a little more foundational to the thousand year tradition that this case is just one iteration of.

THE IMPLICATION

With very very very few exceptions, Zen Masters both keep on talking. They challenge other people to shut them up while simulteanously demanding that people "Speak! Speak!".
As a practical matter tihs means that pop New-Agey aphorisms like, "Silence is golden", "Those who know do not speak." or "Sit down, shut up" are 100% anathmetized by the Zen tradition. There's an idiom that Zhaozhou references in his Song of the Twelve Hours that subverts the kind of stuff that religions insist is important to talk about, my translation of it goes:

Compared to those longing to save others with spiritual-cultivation, who knows how I become so dumb?

The translation of "become so dumb" is, in Chinese, "become non-chirping".
Zhaozhou doesn't save anyone with his talking or cultivate anything supernatural by his blabbing. He just blabs about the family tradition in the same way that birds chirp and sing their songs every single day without fail.

I was going to do this last year but I got occupied with the Essay on So Much For Stardust and school just literally got a chokehold on me. I think this is the album that I fully got into Fall Out Boy in terms of Post Hiatus stuff because of the Youngblood Chronicles. So without further ado, I’mma just revisit this album and spitball out my thoughts on each song. With the summary being 10 words or less of course etc.
The Phoenix
(This walked so that LFTOS can fly)
Starting Leningrad sample? Immediately reminds me of Love From The Other Side. The lyrics are hella strong here about returning to the culture even though their culture is slowly dying. Don’t quote me but fun fact this might be the reason why Novocaine was moved to AB/AP. But, the idea feels half committed due to how the instrumentals don't support the idea imo. Case in point, the drum machine is used and can be heard obviously in the pre-chorus and chorus when honestly using literal drums helps boost the spirit of the song even more. But other than that, the song is honestly not bad.
My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up)
(Proto-Centuries with the birth of millennial whoop spams)
Same case as how The Phoenix did for Love From The Other Side but for the bad reason. This is the song where it led to in fans opinions their weaker songs and in my opinion the snoozefest of the songs being Champion and of course CENTURIES (I fully hate both songs because of the chorus due to how generic it sounds sue me). This is where the birth of oh ohs starts too where future songs are culprits because of it. As a person that has heard the original song with this song name. This is definitely the weaker one because of the lazy chorus with the same line of Light Em Up which is a pity when the verses are actually kinda solid.
Alone Together
(Fractured song that stitches together without much details)
As much as I like this song on the album, it has probably grown sour on me throughout the years because of disorientation sometimes while listening to this. From the jumpy/choppy lyrical delivery, to some cliche as fuck lines of “My heart is like a stalion, the love it when it’s broken”. But this song does have solid ideas though, reusing the same verse to try and show the loneliness since it’s from a single but immediately scraping it with echo chants with “Yeah!” which I guess shows even more irony? I can tell how many feets of irony i am in but at least it feels kind of melancholic which is nice for the idea and feels very sing-along.
Where Did The Party Go
(What 2010s Fall Out Boy should've been)
Hot Take Time? This is probably my favorite song on this album because of how groovy and Motown (?) the guitar contains and how the lyrical content clicks into a very cohesive idea. No wonder Fall Out Boy got back together with this song, with the usual complaints of electric drum loops and millennial whoops aside, this is what I thought FOB 2010s should have been, modernization of the instruments with synths that elevates the song with the witty lyrics and delivery only Patrick can do. With the starting vocals making Patrick sound like a messenge narrator talking about his past relationship. Man this song is what Post-Folie should’ve been with the mix of synths, soul, rock and a hint of witty emo lyrics.
Just One Yesterday
(This is the underrated one here not gonna lie)
They finally list down who they collabed with for the first time!!! Sarcasm aside, this is one of the ideas I wanted them to do of having a couple who is toxic against each other having a conversation. Reminds me of “Mr & Ms Smith” in a way (The 2005 movie with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie not the recent film). The chorus feels very cheesy in a bad way about “fuck the future, id rather go back to the past and be with you” idea. The high points are that the delivery here is extremely well done with Foxes singing and feels like a dialogue between toxic lovers. Other than that, this is their stronger tracks here and I wish they did more collabs like this.
The Mighty Fall
(Ah yes the rap verse because why not)
This might be the actual left field song they have released, pre MANIA. I initially forgot about this song until no joke, WWE of all things reminded me of this when they used it in a Pay-Per-View event and this was the theme song. The lyrical delivery makes Patrick a narrator when the lyrics are in a first-person view, then switching to a third person view. Please make up your mind. I'm very confused. To further confuse people, they added Big Sean with the peak lines of “I’m either fucking or working, so the grind don’t stop” and “Yeah I’m a dick girl, addicted to you”
I did not need Simple Plan lyrics here but I guess I’m forced to swallow it, LIKE A CU-. Man I dislike this song with the indecisive storytelling and confusing lyrics.
Miss Missing You
(Nostalgia is one hell of a dr*g and it’s time to cut it)
Best track is probably here and it’s because of how it is similar to old FOB and the song lyrics literally sound like people describing nostalgia in general. As the saying goes, “Nostalgia is one hell of a dr*g”, as much as most people stand by old FOB, if the song was just this multiplied by 10 to 12 times here. Fans would be sick of listening to old Fall Out Boy already. This is where I think they are giving fan service and appeal more towards their older fans on this one, and I fell for it and there are no issues here mostly since this song probably is intended for the fans about reminiscing the past.
Death Valley
(I think I avoided this song like the plague? forgot)
Time to be flamed, this is my least favorite song by them in terms of official releases. It feels like generic song about s*x which is not a topic Pete is unfamiliar with but I am actively cringing here with the lyrics about undressing etc. The instrumentals makes me dislike this even more with the snare drum that sounds untuned repeating in my eardrums. This is in my opinion, Fall Out Boy’s version of “F**k Time” by Green Day in Dos and both of them are somehow worse than the other. I would rather tilt myself playing video games than listen to this song repeatedly to be blunt as hell.
Young Volcanoes
(Probably not for me because acoustics)
This is a biased take (totally when every other take on each here is objective /j) but this is my least favourite Single from them in this album? I’m not an acoustics listener in general which already gives my bias against this song. The song idea is about I guess being the counter culture but it feels force fed when the starting verse is literally filled with oxymorons. Then there's the return of the millennial whoops. I think this is the song where I start to actually hate the millennial whoops inside FOB songs. I think overall, despite the campy nature that I like, that is the only thing I enjoyed and the other issues are very visible in this song but I guess there’s people who are gonna like it.
Rat A Tat
(So Close Yet So Far)
Might be a very hot take, this was my favourite track in SRAR back when I was younger, and it still is one of it in this album but there are very clear flaws here. This is probably one of the more rock leaning songs during Post Hiatus in terms of instrumentals here. But do we seriously have to drag in Ms Cobain herself? (NO KURT S*I*C*D* REFERENCES HERE YOU CAN FUCK RIGHT OFF) Based on live footage of her performance back in the day with her raspy voice literally doesnt help the case here with the song sounding very muffled when no joke, her lines are actually mostly good. Except the phrase “ We nightmare you” which I have no absolute idea what it means. The idea is based on my own interpretation of anger over a sour relationship between 2 lovers and then expressing it out in a very very poor way and then just swallowing your pride and tell your S.O to wake the fuck up. Solid idea, solid lyrics, even solid collab, but the execution is so close to actually being a solid song.
Save Rock And Roll
(Elton John saves everyone, as he should)
I might get flamed over this, this is I think one of my least favourite ending tracks in an album. This song in a way feels very ironic in terms of the idea of “I aM tHe OnLy PerSon LiSteNiNg to RoCk MuSic anD nOt ThoSe MaInStrEam PoP AnD HiP-hOP cRinGe”, which in itself is already cringe when the album itself uses different genres like Pop, Soul and R&B. But honestly the song is relatable for the fans in the case of listening to music for self care and stop being a people pleaser. Oh hey look, an obscure song they used in the beginning that kind of symbolizes their legacy within the decade at that time. At least the song is singable when you do not really put much thought over the song and the ending gang chants feel liberating when you end the album with a solid full stop. Overall, solid song, mixed feelings but Elton John is here so who cares we all win.
Overall, this feels more of a “Kill Your Darlings” album where you need to scrap most of Fall Out Boy’s old habits and get used to new ones. If you like change, this may be for you. Else, you might feel out of place or heck volatilely hate this record because of how it marks the start of their change. Personally though, this feels like a Fall Out Boy album but very very faintly. The main culprits are the usage of electric drum loops which does not boost and elevate the ideas that are close to being cooked fully but still lacks more time such as Alone Together, Just One Yesterday and Rat A Tat.
