2024.06.05 23:39 CrystalsNroses Getting a cattle dog!
Hi! As the title says I'm getting a blue heeler, but I'm moving states and I will be getting the blue heeler when I move. The only problem is l'm not moving for a bit and the puppy will be 13 weeks old. When I talked to the breeder, they said that it is a critical time for bonding from ages 8-13weeks. Do you think it would be problem? I would say no? because we are gonna have him for years of course but I know the way cattle dogs are and the training they need. When I watch videos of 13 week old cattle dogs some of them already know tricks, I’m not sure if it will be a problem? I sure hope it’s not just from the pictures I'm in love with this little guy! submitted by CrystalsNroses to AustralianCattleDog [link] [comments]

Frequently Asked Questions: Q: Why is X artist higher than Y artist on the 200 chart, even though X artist sold less?
A: This is because of a discrepancy between Billboard's ranking and the ranking from the website that the sales data is scraped from
Q: Where do you get the sales data from?
A:
https://hitsdailydouble.com/sales_plus_streaming Q: What does "err" mean on the 200 chart?
A: If you are seeing "err", that means that the bot I use to gather chart data couldn't identify sales data for a particular album because of a difference in album naming between Billboard and HitsDailyDouble

2024.06.04 05:39 blacksunshine__ Blue Heeler + ??
We got him from a shelter in Washington, he is about 14 weeks. Weighed in at 20 pounds when we weighed him last week! He was 11 pounds the day after we got him at 9 weeks. He is quite literally growing by the day 🥹 We were told most likely a Blue Heeler, Australian Shepherd, and/or German Shorthaired Pointer mix. My husband is convinced he has Catahoula in him, but I’m convinced he has some pit bull in him!? I don’t know a ton about dog breeds but I feel like his snout is longer than a typical Heeler, Aussie, or GSP? Another thing that is throwing us off is the way he sits (it’s almost like he perches with his knees pointing out? See photo 4) and his chest is already so broad when he sits up (see photo 4, taken 2 weeks ago. His chest is even more broad now, he just won’t sit up and still long enough to get a good photo! 😂 He is super tall & super long. Temperament & other info— He is the chillest dog ever. Not reactive to other dogs, people, cars, anything. BUT he can be stubborn. Took less than 2 days to teach him basic commands like sit and lay down. He does not like being alone, he has not left my side for more than an hour since we got him. Likes to cuddle but then will get up and go lay by himself. His coat is still very soft but has definitely become slightly more coarse since we first brought him home. The fur on his face & ears is still just as soft as the day we brought him home, though. He loves other dogs (from the ones he has been around, limiting until fully vaccinated), loves kids, adults, literally just loves everyone. He doesn’t bark much but definitely likes to whine and cry. Unsure if related to breed in any way but is still recovering from a pretty gnarly case of “puppy strangles” :( (last photo was when it first started). Not sure if I’m missing anything, but any suggestions on his breed(s) for us? We are going to do a DNA test soon, but I am dying to find out! submitted by blacksunshine__ to IDmydog [link] [comments]
2024.06.03 20:26 alrightcam recommendations for puppy safe “bones”?
Hi all, I’m in the midst of learning about owning a puppy and would like some advice :) I’ve tried my best to learn about what’s good and bad in terms of chew toys and treats, but if I’m doing something wrong, pair your criticism with suggestions please! 🫶🏽
my puppy is just about 4 months old now, I adopted her at 10 weeks and she is a blue heeler mix. Her high-value rewards have been chicken jerky and nylabone nubs that are 100% digestible. Last night she was working on the last bit of her nylabone and swallowed it (idk if it was on accident or on purpose) and it got lodged in her throat. It was so scary seeing her scared and probably hurting. With some time I got her to throw up and the bone piece came out with it.
She’s not allowed to have those anymore lol, so I’m searching for some new lasting bones or tougher chews that are more swallow-safe

2024.06.01 23:12 TheRebel-JimmyDean Straight friend/co-worker casually said "Faggot" in front of me...Not sure how to feel.
UPDATE BELOW
So I (34 gay male) started a new job 4 months ago. It's a sales job, on the phone all day with customers type stuff. I sit in this little cubicle pod where there are 4 desks with these 3 other guys, all mid 20s and straight. We have all been getting along really well (much to my surprise as most of my friends through out my life were always straight women, I've always had difficulty having genuine male friendships since most straight guys haven't ever really tried to ever befriend me before) but I've been enjoying just shooting the shit with them and having fun at work. They are all really cool and funny guys. They all know I am gay but haven't really ever said much about it, which is totally cool since it's actually kind of nice just getting to be "one of the guys" for once instead always "one of the girls."
The youngest guy of the group, who I have known the longest since we started the job around the same time (we also have the same first name) is definitely the one I feel closest with. We are always having side bar convos in our pod and usually hang out together during our 15 min breaks. He's super friendly, always really well mannered and respectful to others and just an all around great guy. I genuienly have been enjoying our growing friendship despite the fact that on paper we have very little in common when it comes to personal interests.
Three of us went out last night (4th guy was out of town) for the first time after work to have drinks and dinner and celebrate the end of the month and all our sales.
After a couple of shots the guy I am closest too who was sitting right next to me in our booth very casually (in a typical straight bro joking kind of way) called the other guy we were with a "faggot". I don't even remember the context of why, it was just a throwaway "Hahaha dude you're such a faggot."
He immediately looked over at me and started apologizing, said he didn't mean it "that way" and that sometimes he and his buddies call eachother that, but in a "you're an idiot" or "you're being stupid " kind of way, not in a homophobic way. I do get that, to an extent. I grew up in 90s and 2000's where the term "That's gay!" was used very liberally to describe non homosexual things. My own twin brother continued saying this casually even years after I came out.
I laughed it off in the moment (was already feeling pretty tipsy from the shots as I don't drink much) and didn't want to make a big deal about it since it wasn't even directed at me and he did apologize.
Him and the other guy very nicely talked about other gay guys they knew in their life, how they suspected I was gay when they first met me but didn't care and even said "We love you all the more for it."
He was super nice the rest of the night to me, asking more than once in a whispered side bar if I was OK to drive home since he knew I wasn't much of a drinker and very sweetly gave me a big hug when we parted ways (normally only a fist bump kind of guy, lol).
But now in the cold light of the next day with my more sober thoughts, I can't stop thinking about it and can't help but feel a little sad and frankly disappointed at what he said. I truly don't believe in any way he is homophobic and he's always been super cool to me and I dont feel like he would ever say anything offensive to me personally. I have a lot of adoration for him in a little brother kind of way and really care about him. It was almost jarring hearing him say it because he's always been kind of the "Nice Boy Scout" of the group compared to the two other guys who are always shit talking and calling each other names. That was the sort of thing I would expect from them more than him honestly.
But him so casually using a word that I have a personal history with being called in such a hateful and judgmental way, it made me feel really bummed out as I just thought he was better than that. I get it, boys will be boys and sometimes say stupid shit to eachother when shit talking and drinking.
Anyway, I'm not even really sure what the point of this post is other than just wanting to get my thoughts and feelings out about it. I don't plan on saying anything to him about it. He and other guy have already expressed an interest in all of us going out again when the 4th guy gets back in town and since at my age making new friends isn't exactly easy I do really want to keep hanging out with him and the other guys as outside of that specific comment, I had a really fun time with them.
I'm hoping this was a one time incident and isn't something I hear again as I definitely don't feel comfortable with it. I'm not someone who is easily offended and have no problem making "gay jokes" or even being the butt (no pun intended...) of them, but I don't want to hear the word faggot being said by other men around me, especially men I consider friends.
UPDATE Long post ahead:
Alright guys, finally have an update for you. I want to again thank everyone for their input, support and encouragement. I truly appreciate it and I feel so much better.
So I had wanted to chat with him about it Monday but he called out sick...he's done this a few times before and came in Tuesday with a runny nose and cough. I asked him if he wanted to have lunch together that day in hopes of being able to talk to him. Since he was still feeling sick he said he just wanted to rest in his car during break which was fine.
I ended up having a lousy work day and was unable to make any sales that day and left in kind of a down mood, both because of the bad work day and because of not being able to let him know how I was feeling.
He out of the blue texted me that evening when I got home with a very simple but sweet/supportive message "Hey buddy, don't let today get to ya. Get some rest and and I'll see ya tomorrow. Have a good night!!"
I thanked him for reaching out and told him it meant a lot and helped cheer me up.
On Wednesday the other guy who we went out with was sending me some funny Stand Up videos he was watching at his desk, one of which was about the comedian telling a story about a guy named "Martin the Fag". The Martin guy in the story makes a quip about how "unless you've sucked another guys dick you don't get to use that word!"
I used this as my in. I replied to him how I thought it was a funny routine but that it also had a great lesson for straight men and how they shouldn't ever use that word, even in a joking context. He agreed.
This morning (Thursday) me and the guy who sent me the videos were chatting in our pod about the routine and he was asking me some questions about the community and telling me stories about some gays bars he'd been to with friends, etc. I said it's totally natural to be curious and have questions and to feel free to ask me anything he wanted to know.
Already in this open minded headspace, when the 15 min. morning break came, me and the younger guy took our break together as usual and walked out into the parking garage. Normally he runs to his car for a few min. and I stay in the courtyard area outside the building but today I asked if I could walk with him because I wanted to chat. He accepted and I started telling him about the convo. I was having earlier and the stand up routine the other guy had sent me. I mentioned specifically the part about how "unless you've sucked another guys dick you don't get to use that word!" and very gently and unconfrontationally mentioned that him saying it last week really did hurt my feelings.
As predicted by most of you, he immediatley went into remorseful apology mode, telling me how sorry he was for saying it, how stupid it was to say and that even though he didn't mean it in a hurtful way and was just talking shit that there was no justification for saying it and that he felt terrible.
I told him I had already forgiven him, accepted his apology and the whole thing was water under the bridge. I brought up a lot of the talking points you guys suggested: Mentioning how just as it would be inapropriate to use the N word as a non-black man, it's equally inapproriate to use "Fag" as a non-gay man. I could see the light go off in his head when I said this and he immediatley agreed and thanked me for using that as a comparison.
I told him that I had a personal history with the word being used as a weapon against me growing up and that it was often used to spread hurt and hate. I told him I knew he was a great guy, had a good heart and that I knew he didn't say it with hate, but that hearing it from someone I care about and consider a friend made it hurt all the more. He continued to profusely apologize and tell me how bad he felt.
I told him I completely understood "Bro" culture and that sometimes they say and do stupid shit when hanging out and drinking (used my brother as an example of this) and I understood the context of how it was said but that it still wasn't something he or any straight person should be saying. He agreed and said he wouldn't ever say it again, gave me a hug and then continued to repeatedly apologize about a dozen more times on the way back to the office. He was like a sad puppy who just made a mess in the house and was desperatley trying to get back into his owners good graces. Haha.
I continued to reassure him it was all good, I wasn't angry at him and that I really valued his friendship since I don't have a many male friends.
We went back to the office, changed the subject and started talking about the usual BS and went back to work. I made the most sales today that I ever have before and I know it was because I was in a much better headspace and had a huge weight lifted off me.
As I always knew in my heart, he is truly a fantastic guy who made a dumb mistake, as we all do and felt really badly about it and has been trying to make it up to me ever since. I imagine that going forward our friendship and bond will become even closer after our heart to heart.
Again, thanks for reading guys and I really appreciate all your support!

2024.06.01 00:12 kretenkaa Possibly a missing persons case that slipped though the cracks. Was Ann Caldwell ever found?
This case starts on Websleuths, when a user made a thread on Ann's disappearance after finding many articles reporting on it on a newspaper archive website, but was unable to find a resolution. Ann does not have a NamUs, Charley Project page or DoeNetwork. These sites require the presence of a police report. If some information seems confusing or contradictive it is because no article gives a complete straight story. This case is 68 years old. The referenced articles are posted in Ann's Websleuths thread linked below.
Firstly, let's take a look at the disappearance as reported in the newspaper.
On March 13*, 1956, 18-year-old University of Arizona student Ann Elizabeth Caldwell left her home in Tucson, Arizona telling her family she was going to a sorority meeting. A report indicated she was last seen in Tucson in the evening, and later seen getting out of a truck in Las Cruces, New Mexico the next day. Another report says she was seen walking along highway 70-80 on the outskirts of Las Cruces with another girl. A truck driver would later come forward and say he picked up a girl resembling Ann when she waved him down on highway 70-80 in western Las Cruces, drove her to a bus stop and walked into the station with her. She had told him she was going to El Paso, Texas. They parted way shortly after 6 am. The following article reports that Ann had possibly bought a ticket to Albuquerque, but other indicate Amarillo or El Paso, and that she hitchhiked by two truck drivers.
Meanwhile, Ann's father offered a $500 reward for help in finding Ann. Ann had attended school in El Paso for a short time, so he believed she might be in the area. Her father said Ann had only taken a small vanity case with her when she left. He also said that he would not force her to return home and that they are only anxious to know where she is.
On September 13, 1956 an article indicates her parents believe she is a victim of amnesia. She had not used her checking account since she disappeared and had $50-100 on her. They had contacted all relatives in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Missouri but none have had contact with Ann. The two truck drivers said she was untalkative and appeared mentally disturbed. She hitchhiked from Tucson to Las Cruces where she boarded a bus to El Paso where she remained overnight. She then left for Amarillo on March 18. Her father says that prior to her disappearance she seemed unusual and extremely quiet.
On March 7, 1957, a year after the disappearance, Ann's mother appeared on a TV show called
Queen for a Day\**, pleading for her daughter's return and once again offering $500.
On March 30, 1957 an article reports that Ann had been found in Plainview, Texas, however the police had not confirmed it. The same article reports that Ann had called her mother at 7:30 pm the day she disappeared to tell her she would stay overnight on UA campus.
On January 20, 1960, an article reports that El Paso detectives are looking into the possibility that a skeleton found on Thanksgiving Day in Anapra, New Mexico was Ann. However, in June that year the skeleton was identified as another missing person.
No further reporting on Ann Caldwell is found.
After not finding follow-up articles, websleuths began looking for Ann in other ways. They found her father's (1993), mother's (2003) and brother's (2015) obituaries. She was not mentioned in any of them. A family tree on Ancestry lists Ann's date of death as "unknown". They were unable to find Ann in marriage records, death certificates, birth announcements etc. It also appeared Ann was never issued an SSN. They made a NamUs page for Ann, however since it requires a police report it is currently restricted and not publicly available.
It is possible Ann was eventually found. Not being listed in her immediate family's obituaries is odd, but can be explained. It is also possible Ann is one of the missing persons cases that fell though the cracks, gathering dust in archives. With John and Jane Doe's being identified with genetic genealogy we often see them ending up being unreported missing or reported, but forgotten. Is Ann one of them?
Ann Caldwell is an 18-year-old Caucasian woman, standing at 5'11" and weighing at 135 lbs. She has blonde hair, blue eyes and wears glasses sometimes. She was last seen wearing a slate grey blouse, brown wool skirt, a wide black belt with large gold belt buckle, possibly wearing black flat shoes, a coral red coat, a California souvenir scarf and dark shell rim unswept glasses. Possibly had a black purse or a vanity case with her.
If alive today, Ann would be 86 years old.

2024.05.31 21:34 TigerpilotKFUL Rescued a stray husky, but current husky is dog aggressive
Hey everyone! So, I rescued a sweet adorable 6-8 month old female husky. I’ve exhausted all avenues trying to find her owner. I will not take her to the pound. She was on the streets, looked like she had been there a while due to how skinny she was. I’ve got no problem keeping/fostering her until her owner shows up. Problem is, I’m learning that my 4 year old male (fixed) wooly husky is very territorial and does not want her anywhere near me, my kids, or anywhere in the house or backyard. I introduced the rescue to him while on a walk, and they’ve been able to walk well together. But the second we get back to the house, he wants to kill her. She’s so submissive and just wants to be friends with him, but he’s having no part of it. We are keeping her in a separate part of the house for her safety. Does anyone have any tips on how to integrate her into the pack? Aside from my husky, I also have a blue heeler. They get along fine and have been together since they were both puppies. The heeler has no issues with the rescue. My husky does fine at the dog park, but is aggressive when on leash as well. Thanks in advance! submitted by TigerpilotKFUL to husky [link] [comments]
2024.05.30 13:15 spoopy21poopy Struggling to address bf’s parents getting a dog for companionship but deemed to live outside
I will start off by saying that my bf’s parents are wonderful people, who are in their late 60’s, and grew up in traditional Mexican families where having a dog outside is the one and only way of having a dog. Their backyard is of a decent size with a medium patch of grass and the rest is rock cement. There is a storage shed (where the puppy sleeps) small areas of shade during the day, access to water at all times, where he is free to roam around. Located in the texas area where temperatures reach 106+ during peak summer times.
They have had a dog before but from what i recollect only for a short time. They recently got a blue heeler (11wks old) mixed with some kind of Pomeranian or shitzu (some kind of small breed with light hair as he has light hair and white markings on his face, that of a heeler)to be a companion to my bf’s father who is the one who initiated and purchased the pup. They asked us to dog sit for a few days and I did a bunch of research and watched a ton of videos on puppy training and managed to teach the puppy how to sit and fetch while they were away.
I couldn’t help but notice how frustrated the puppy became the longer his owners were gone or because i could only spend a few hours of the day with him. 2hrs in the am and 2hrs in the evening. But now that his parents are back in town i fear that the puppy will suffer tremendously either from isolation or lack of proper stimulation/training. I respect bf’s parents too much to offer an opposing opinion that the dog and themselves would find the experience of having a dog more rewarding if it lived inside, especially if the whole purpose of getting the dog was for companionship, as my bf’s parents don’t live on a farm.
Im having trouble sleeping at night thinking about what is to come for the pup and am fostering some negative emotions towards his parents getting a dog at all when they show no interest of training and deeming it to live outside all its life. Is it immoral to have the dog live outside if the whole purpose of the dog is for companionship?

2024.05.30 05:16 _squeeee Doing What This Breed Was Bred To Do
Was on Nextdoor a half hour ago and I read one of the most unhinged posts I’ve read in a long time. And that doesn’t include a woman who posted that she was so angry she was seeing red that an overpriced grocery store was closing down. The response (2nd pic) had me shook and I wasn’t even the one getting called out. Also, I know who responded. She’s a dog trainer who lives in the next street over. I also know the owners of the dogs and they’re not irresponsible dog owners. I see them all the time when I’m walking mine. The man’s dogs are well trained and have never attacked a person or an animal that I know of. Also, the one who responded saw people walking their dogs past the shepherds playing before he got there and the shepherds didn’t even pay attention to them. From what she told me, that man’s mutt instigated the whole thing and was encouraged by its owner. She came witness to the incident because she was sitting in a blind spot smoking a joint and she could see the whole field from that part of the trail where the “attack” occurred. I wish she recorded the whole thing. submitted by _squeeee to germanshepherds [link] [comments]
2024.05.29 17:58 thriftyaf Advice on Dog's Chronic Breathing Issue Following Tooth Infection
Our ACD started out with what seemed liked a bad tooth infection, causing fairly pronounced eye/facial swelling. We took her to our normal vet who extracted one molar. Most of the swelling went down, but she seemed to be having issues breathing due to presumed nasal swelling. We took her to another vet on the recommendation of the first vet to get x-rays and more extractions. The second vet ended up removing another molar on the other side. After not seeing improvement, we brought her back to the second vet and they ended up removing another tooth next to the second molar. Upon attempting to examine her nasal passage, the scope was met with resistance/nasal bleeding. They advised we needed to see a specialist for possible CT/rhinoscopy. The specialist has quoted us $4-7k to essentially "see what is going on" and not necessarily give us any answers. We are also getting recommendations to go to a dental specialist, for a similarly priced dental CT/surgery. One of the techs at our original vet also mentioned BOAS surgery to possibly open up her nasal passages.
The nasal swelling has gotten to the point where she can barely breathe through her nose at all. She will seem normal through the day, behavior has not changed or gotten worse, but at night she will snore alarmingly loud, like a person with extreme sleep apnea, and at times stop breathing until she startles awake and opens up her mouth.
Also of note - when I feel the bridge of her snout, it is no longer smooth. Near the middle it feels like the skull bone is bumpy or may even have holes in it. We are wondering if perhaps the infection got so bad that it irreparably damaged her sinuses and is causing the breathing issues.
At this point we are at a loss on what direction to go in, and would appreciate any advice or insight. We have done the initial consult with the internal medicine specialist, and have the initial consult with the dental specialist tomorrow. I have included the internal medicine specialist's summary below, and will attempt to attach her x-ray. I've circled the area that I believe to be "bumpy" on the x-ray, even though the vets said it was "unremarkable".
• Species: Canine
• Age: 6-7
• Sex/Neuter status: Female/spayed
• Breed: Australian cattle dog
• Clinical signs: Unable to breathe through snout, extreme snoring/stopping breathing, bridge of snout no longer smooth/bumpy bone
• Duration: 6mo
• Your general location: Maryland, USA
• Links to test results, vet reports, X-rays etc.
Skull X-RAY • History: Riley, a 6 year old, female spayed, Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler, is presenting today for nasal congestion & discharge. Riley was adopted from a breeder as a puppy and has been an overall healthy girl. She is very active and goes on hikes, enjoys playing ball, and runs with the owner. She enjoys chewing on things and at the end of November cracked her left upper fourth premolar while chewing a bully stick (owner found a piece of tooth). On 12/16 she did not greet the owner, was hanging her head, not eating well and flinching when approaching the face. On 12/17 swelling was noted over the nose and around the left eye with crusting discharge from the left nasal cavity. She was evaluated by the primary care veterinarian on 12/18/23. The primary care found the left, upper 4th premolar (#208) to be infected and prescribed amoxicillin and also gave injections of dexamethasone and penicillin. On 1/2/24 the left, upper 4th premolar (#208) was extracted and Riley was continued on amoxicillin. On 12/24 there was third eyelid elevation in the left eye with a bulging appearance and swelling around the eye. The owner was visiting family and treated Riley with carprofen, which improve the swelling. Riley was evaluated by the primary care veterinarian 1/24/24 for nasal congestion and facial swelling. The primary care recommended dental radiographs to ensure all the roots were removed during the dental and Riley was referred to You'll Never Walk Alone Veterinary Hospital 1/26/24. A physical could not be performed without sedation so Riley was prescribed Clavamox and carprofen until a sedated evaluation could be performed. Riley was evaluated by [redacted] Veterinary Hospital 2/1/24 and in-house lab work revealed mild decreases in RBC (5.10 M/uL, HCT (34.6%), HGB (11.7 g/dL), and ALKP (<10 U/L). Dental evaluation revealed that the upper, right 3rd premolar (#107) was loose and, upon extraction, had caudal root disease with purulent material. Dental radiographs showed no root retention from the upper, right 3rd premolar (#107) or the upper left 4th premolar (#208). Skull radiographs were unremarkable. Riley was given an injection of carprofen and prescribed two more weeks of Clavamox and Carprofen as needed. At her recheck on 2/27/24, the owner reported that the symptoms were decreased while on antibiotics and NSAIDs; however, once those were stopped, the congestion came back and there continued to be left sided facial swelling. Riley was treated with clindamycin, and told to continue carprofen. She was sedated 3/14/24 and there was scant, yellow discharge from the right nostril and decreased airflow from the left nostril. Dental radiographs revealed a periapical abscess of the upper right 4th premolar (#108) and the tooth was extracted. The nasal cavities were flushed with saline using a red rubber catheter. There was resistance in the left nostril with the red rubber but none in the right. She was given injections of enrofloxacin and Cerenia and prescribed enrofloxacin and carprofen to go home. Other than than nasal congestion and facial swelling. Riley is currently doing well with normal energy levels and behaviors. Her appetite, drinking, and eliminations are normal. There is no obvious pain when eating or drinking and no difficulty swallowing. The facial swelling improved with carprofen and tooth removal, but there is continued swelling on the top of the nose which is firm to the touch according to the owner. Riley is sneezing and having sneezing fits as well as nasal congestion. She has pawed at her face and has episodes of gasping and waking up to breathe through her mouth at night. No coughing.

2024.05.29 01:58 ShowerStew Pre planning for end of season.
I’ve currently about 3 months into riding after a 15+ year break from doing some biking when I was a kid. Currently I’m on on a Scott Spark carbon 2011. I got it from a friend for cheap but it’s a small frame and I feel it’s holding me back a bit when riding with friends. I’m about 5’10” 170 lbs. I’m looking towards the end of season when there are hopefully sales going on when the winter riding season starts in the south west.
I live in Tucson and will be riding mostly 50% uphill and down blues with a little bit of blacks.
Budget of $2-3000 USD.
Probably a lower travel as I want to smash through my uphills and the downhills aren’t as aggressive.
My currently constantly evolving list is as follows: Ripley AF GX (Deore if sale price hits under 3k) Scott Spark 970 Siskiu T8 or 9 Izzo core 2

A ChatGPT Story Mouse Capone's Expeditions & Misadventures presents The Great Train Escape
Chapter 2: Decision to Recover
The sun was beginning to rise over the Venetian rooftops, casting a soft, golden glow on the city that had witnessed their recent failures. The crew, tired and disheartened, gathered around a small café table in the early morning light, nursing cups of espresso. The air was heavy with the scent of freshly baked bread and the promise of a new day.
Mouse Capone, ever the leader, leaned forward, his eyes scanning the faces of his crew. They were his family, each one of them vital to their operations, and he could see the toll ten years had taken on them. They needed a break, a chance to recharge and find their footing again.
"Listen," Mouse began, his voice calm but firm, "we can't keep going like this. We're running on empty, and it's starting to show. We need to take a step back and recover."
Minx, ever the skeptic, raised an eyebrow. "And how do you propose we do that? Another heist isn't going to fix things."
Mouse shook his head. "Not another heist. I was thinking of something different. There's a staged train robbery in Tucson, Arizona. It's a reenactment of the great train robberies from the 1880s. I think it could be just what we need."
The crew exchanged puzzled glances. Faraday was the first to speak up. "A staged show? You think that's going to help us recover?"
Mouse nodded. "It's not about the show itself. It's about taking a break from the heist life, getting out of our heads for a bit. We can use the time to relax, recharge, and maybe even learn a technique or two."
Blue Puppy Pawsington, who had been unusually quiet, finally spoke up. "It sounds like a good idea, Mouse. We need to get our energy back, and this could be a way to do it."
Rudy, still smarting from her seduction skills earlier in Sydney, looked hesitant. "I'm not sure, Mouse. What if something goes wrong? We're already in a rough spot."
Mouse gave her a reassuring smile. "Nothing's going to go wrong, Rudy. We're just going to watch a show, take in some desert air, and relax. It'll be good for all of us."
Minx sighed, crossing her arms. "Alright, fine. But if this goes sideways, I'm holding you personally responsible, Mouse Capone."
Mouse chuckled. "Fair enough, Minx. But trust me, this is what we need right now."
With the decision made, the crew began to prepare for their journey. As they packed their bags and made arrangements for their travel to Tucson, there was a sense of reluctant hope in the air. They were a team, and though they had faced setbacks, they were determined to come back stronger.
The flight to Arizona was uneventful, the crew mostly silent as the Douglas absorbed the sprawling desert landscape below. The vast, arid beauty of the American Southwest was a stark contrast to the wind-cooled winding canals of Venice, offering a sense of openness and possibility.
When they finally arrived in Tucson, the scorching heat and vibrant colors of the desert greeted them. The town was alive with anticipation for the upcoming reenactment, posters and banners announcing the event plastered on every surface.
Mouse led the way, his steps confident despite the exhaustion that still lingered in his bones. The crew followed, their spirits slowly lifting as they took in their new surroundings.
"Welcome to the Wild West," Mouse said with a grin, turning to face his crew. "Let's see if we can find our edge again."
As they made their way through the bustling streets of Tucson, the promise of adventure and recovery hung in the air. The stage was set, and Mouse Capone and his crew were ready to embrace whatever came next.

Last year, U.S. Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy released an advisory that described loneliness and isolation as a national epidemic, with health consequences that rival those associated with cigarette smoking and obesity. To help address this pervasive isolation, Murthy’s office challenged Americans to find and act on ways to strengthen their social connections. New research suggests one effective method: spending money on experiences rather than material goods.

While work is occasionally stressful for everyone, some people wear stress as a badge of honor. They’re taking one for the team and want to tell you all about it. New research from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business found people who brag about their stress levels are seen as less competent and less likable by their co-workers. The study is published in the journal Personnel Psychology. “This is a behavior we’ve all seen, and we all might be guilty of at some

Yet millennials and Generation Z are as nuts about Rubik’s Cube as their parents were, much to the amusement of its 79-year-old creator, who talked to AFP in a rare interview. In a digital world “we are slowly forgetting that we have hands”, Rubik said. But playing with the cube helps us tap back into something deeply primal about

Many young people in contact with the justice system come from backgrounds of extreme poverty, parental abuse or neglect, parental incarceration and disrupted education. These complex traumas often manifest as addictions to drugs or alcohol, mental health challenges, poor physical health and well-being, and conduct disorders. How we can effectively respond to offending by these vulnerable young people remains a contentious topic. “Tough on youth crime” approaches are notoriously ineffective: 85% of young people in Australia reoffend within

If you are in this position, you may find yourself trying to memorize information that you first learned a long time ago and have completely forgotten—or that you didn’t actually learn effectively in the first place. Unfortunately, cramming is a very inefficient way to properly learn. But sometimes it’s necessary to pass an exam. And you can incorporate what we know about how learning works into your revision to make it

Drinking tea can have several health benefits. There is seemingly a brew for everything from sleep to inflammation to digestion. In 18th century England, however, drinking tea may have saved a person’s life, and it likely had very little to do with leaves and herbs. For CU Boulder economics professor Francisca Antman, it’s all about the water. Specifically, boiling the water and eliminating bacteria that could cause illnesses like dysentery, more commonly known during the Industrial Revolution as “bloody flux.” It’s not a new idea—the connection between boiling water for

A new University of Michigan study indicated that people aren’t always good at noticing the advantages they enjoy compared to the disadvantages they overcame. However, they are significantly better at noticing others—such as friends, family and mentors—who helped them reach their goals. “There is a social norm that encourages people to acknowledge the help they receive from others,” said Julia Smith, a recent doctoral graduate in psychology from U-M and the study’s

Urbanization in China tends to be depicted in terms of towering skyscrapers and multilane highways—the city reaching upwards and outwards. Not much thought is given to the vast, but less eye-catching, urban infrastructure that shapes and is shaped by the everyday lives of its citizens—such as toilets and sewers. Until as late as the 2010s, chamber pots were still a common feature of urban life in China. Families shared wooden matong buckets or enamel tanyu, and emptied them at communal disposal sites. Nearly seven decades after the U.S. Supreme Court’s unanimous landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision in 1954, the court’s declared goal of integrated education is still not yet achieved. As an educational sociologist, I fear that the nation has effectively decided that it’s simply not worth continuing to pursue the goals of Brown. I also

Polyamory—being open to having more than one romantic partner at the same time, with everyone’s knowledge and consent—is on the rise, particularly among people below the age of 45. Yet at the same time, we’re told that younger people are increasingly turning away from romance and dating. On the face of it, these trends appear contradictory. Does Gen Z want multiple partners or none at all? What is going on? Seen through the right lens, however, they are really two symptoms of the same underlying cause.

On the other, supporters advocate for these rights to uphold democratic representation. The study, published in the American Political Science Review, uncovers a more pragmatic

2024.05.25 09:19 Fun_Fun_Fun_Fun_Fun Scotty Cameron Gallery Experience
TLDR: I had an awesome conversation with a member of the gallery staff and was offered to purchase my dream putter! Visited the Scotty Cameron Gallery in Encinitas for the first time a few days ago. Posting this to provide some insight into the experience and give some hope to those who might be considering a visit. A little on my putting history: 1st I’m a giant SC fan boy with ~15 retail putters. I don’t really sell or trade putters. I buy them and collect accumulating models to play with but I mostly have two gamers that have stuck with through the years. I’ve done a Ping PLD putter fitting in AZ and it’s an awesome experience. Through that fitting I really started to understand my preferences in a putter. That would prove to be super helpful when visiting the Gallery because it’s not possible to secure a fitting without having a connection to the Gallery. The experience: So on the day, you walk up to a super friendly security guard who greets you and explains how it works. You get a printed out order sheet (think sushi restaurant) and a golf pencil. You are instructed to walk around the store and pick out items you would like to purchase (for clothing you are able to try things on. Most of the items are non-putter merchandise (golf bags, towels, divot tools, head covers, clothing). The putters on display in the window when I went were all moto putters (retail putters with cool paint jobs, head covers and grips) I believe that from time to time the window will have limited edition putters, but I’m not sure if they ever put CT putters in the window. When you finish filling out your order sheet you go inside with a staff member that assists you with any questions. The friendly security guard made it clear that if I wanted something special that wasn’t on display I am welcome to ask and it’s possible they will have what I want in the back of the store. One note, the inside of the store has more variety than some of the items in the window especially headcovers. The staff member (I don’t want to give his name because it’s Reddit and that feels weird) was super friendly and knowledgeable. I asked him is they had a limited edition retail model available, but after we chatted for some time, he indicated it’s maybe not what I’m after. I explained that I prefer a NP2 head, a smaller grip and a head weight on the lighter side, a milling pattern on the shallower side. I was giving him a background on what I’d be interested and as the conversation wore on it became clear I was trying to find something to actually putt with and not resale for a profit. As we were winding down the conversation he was approached by the security guard who mentioned that his fitting appointment had arrived (I was quite envious at whoever had the good fortune of securing a fitting). He gestured that he’d be with them shortly and continued wrapping up or conversation for a few more minutes. He then handed me off to another staff member to help finish up with the items I decided to purchase. Here is where the story takes an awesome turn. The new person I was now working with approaches me with a piece of paper. It was a COA for the Tour Rat 2. New sales person says “(name of staff member) pulled the putter from the back as he thinks it’s a great option for you based on your conversation… would you like to purchase this putter”. This Tour Rat is my dream putter… even the blue paint full is my preference! I could not believe what was happening. I immediately said yes, and was able to secure my dream putter. Another cool aspect is, I guess when you are able to purchase a CT, it opens up more chances to buy more putters if you can prove you don’t intend to resell and bring the putter back in from time to time. I’m making this post not to boast about being able to walk out with the putter that I wanted, but instead to share my experience and what lead me to getting the opportunity to purchase. Anyway, it was an awesome time. I’m from out of town and didn’t know any good food spots for lunch after. The restaurant called the Taco Stand a couple blocks away had an incredible burrito! If you decide to visit good luck and godspeed on getting what you are hoping for! submitted by Fun_Fun_Fun_Fun_Fun to scottycameron [link] [comments]
