2024.05.14 06:25 Longjumping_Dream279 Med spa/clinics-non FDA approved users

Hi. I live in central CA and have script for ozempic and for zepbound and can get neither. I’m going to try a clinic because I have no choice because I can’t get manufacturer brands. I’ve read a lot of people taking off brands and I’ve read all the concerns of not FDA approved meds but I’d love to hear your stories. I’ve been on for 3 months and do not want to stop so what are your experiences with clinics? What do you use? Who do you go to? When all else fails, trust Reddit folks! Thanks in advance.

2024.05.13 22:51 adventurepaul E-commerce Industry News Recap 🔥 Week of May 13th, 2024

Hi - I'm Paul and I follow the e-commerce industry closely for my Shopifreaks E-commerce Newsletter. Each week I post a summary recap of the week's top stories, which I cover in depth with sources in the full edition. Let's dive in...
___
STAT OF THE WEEK: Kohl's sales have shrunk by $2.3B since 2019. During that same period of time, the company lost 1.3M customers who no longer shop with the retailer.
___
BigCommerce is exploring a sale after attracting takeover interest, according to sources who chose to remain anonymous due to the confidentiality of the information. The sources said that BigCommerce asked investment bank Qatalyst Partners to solicit interest from potential buyers that include private equity firms, but that the discussions are at an early stage and no deal is certain.
___
Squarespace announced that it will be going private in a $6.9B all-cash deal with private-equity firm Permira, who agreed to pay $44 per share (a roughly 30% premium). Although Squarespace never lost 90% of its share price like BigCommerce, it has experienced a tumultuous time on the market since its IPO in May 2021 — opening around $49.50 and at times trading in the low $20s. Shares rose nearly 13% to $43 in pre-market trading upon release of the news.
___
ByteDance filed a lawsuit in US federal court seeking to block the new law that would force the sale or ban of the app within the country. The lawsuit challenges the law on constitutional grounds, also citing commercial, technical, and legal hurdles, as well as opposition from Beijing. Legal experts say the legal battle will play out in the courts in coming months and likely will reach the Supreme Court.
___
OpenAI unveiled its newest model, GPT-4o, designed to turn ChatGPT into a digital personal assistant that can engage in real-time, spoken conversations and interact with users using text, screenshots, photos, documents, and charts. The new version of ChatGPT also has memory capabilities, which means it can learn from previous conversations. It will be available to both unpaid and premium customers alike. OpenAI also announced that it would be launching a desktop app with the GPT-4o capabilities, giving users another platform to interact with the technology outside of a web browser.
___
Amazon launched in South Africa last week, marking its first marketplace in sub-Saharan Africa, and bringing its total number of marketplaces worldwide to 22. To launch the new marketplace, Amazon is offering free delivery on first orders and on subsequent orders above R500 (about $27), access to 3,000 pick-up points, status updates via WhatsApp to track orders, 30 day refunds, and 24/7 customer support. The marketplace was supposed to launch in the country in 2023, but got delayed due to changes in priorities within Amazon.
___
In an unlikely partnership, Instacart is partnering with Uber Eats to expand into the restaurant delivery business. Instacart will add a new tab for restaurant delivery to its app in the coming weeks, the listings will be provided by Uber, and the food will be picked up and delivered by Uber Eats drivers. Customers will receive the same prices on both apps and Instacart will receive an affiliate commission on orders. It's a strange partnership though given that Instacart and Uber Eats actively compete on grocery delivery. Are they planning to merge? Uber says no.
___
Apple's advertisement for its latest iPad Pro sparked criticism for showing an animation of musical instruments, paint cans, cameras, record players, and other symbols of creativity being crushed by a giant machine, with the output being the new iPad Pro, which the company says is the thinnest Apple product ever. In this context, “crushing” was supposed to symbolize “consolidating” and “compacting” — with the visuals meant to showcase how the new iPad Pro puts the power of all these tools into the hands of creators in one thin device. However online commenters criticized the ad as insensitive and as symbolizing a “destruction of the human experience.” The ad hit the web on Tuesday, and by Thursday, Apple issued a mea culpa and apologized for the campaign.
___
Google is encouraging merchants to enable conversion annotations on their Google Shopping ads, which offer social proof that highlight a product's popularity. Conversion annotations like “best selling” or “3K shopped here recently” would provide visual cues about a product’s popularity or sales performance directly in the ad unit. Annotations like these are par for the course with e-commerce retailers including Amazon, Walmart, and Temu, which all employ similar tactics. They can provide valuable info for shoppers and also help with conversions. However they also open data privacy concerns, given that Google is not the actual retailer or marketplace selling the items, so a merchant would have to share this purchase history data from their e-commerce platform with Google — which technically most already do by giving access to GA4.
___
Shein is attempting to join the National Retail Federation as it pursues regulatory approval to go public in the US. The company believes that NRF membership would boost its chances of receiving SEC approval. However so far, Shein has been rejected numerous times. An anonymous source familiar with the matter said someone with heavy influence at the NRF is strongly against the Shein's admittance. However board members who spoke to CNBC said that Shein's membership application hadn't come up in meetings, and that they aren't involved in deciding which companies are granted access.
___
Amazon is leading the way with selling home goods, capturing 18.8% of consumer home furnishings spending, compared to Walmart's 7.3% market share. Notably, Amazon’s gains in the furniture category come in spite of the company’s decision to phase out two of its three furniture brands last year.
___
Stanley, which is projected to do $750M in sales this year, up from $73M in 2019, after seeing its water bottles become a status symbol thanks to TikTok, is now expanding into trendier accessories. The company is launching a line of bags called the All-Day Collection which include a mini cooler, backpack cooler, and Quencher Carry-All, designed for someone to sling their Stanley over their hip.
___
Jack Dorsey left the Bluesky board and deleted his account on the service he helped kickstart, claiming that Bluesky was “literally repeating all the mistakes” he made while running Twitter. Dorsey says he never intended Bluesky to be an independent company, but rather, an open source protocol that Twitter was supposed to be the first client of. He also confirmed that he is financially backing Nostr, another decentralized Twitter-like service popular among crypto enthusiasts and run by an anonymous founder.
___
Amazon is deploying 50 electric trucks in California, which it claims is the largest EV fleet in the country, as part of its mission to eliminate pollution from its global operations. The trucks will be integrated into first-mile operations, moving goods from container ships at the ports to fulfillment centers, as well as middle-mile operations, transporting packages from fulfillment centers to delivery centers.
___
Wix launched a new tool called AI Portfolio Creator, which allows a user to upload and organize large-scale image collections, select the type of portfolio they want, and then have the AI tool sort and generate a portfolio with clustered images, recommended titles and descriptions, and personalized layout options.
___
Amazon is now requiring all dietary supplements to be verified by a third-party testing, inspection, and certification organization — which is something that not even the FDA requires. Amazon is the largest supplement retailer in the US ahead of Walmart and Target, and its new requirements are expected to put more pressure on the industry, which is being scrutinized more than ever.
___
Alibaba is revamping its flagship retail website Taobao for the first time in seven years with a focus on providing a smoother search and buying process. The website overhaul comes ahead of the 618 sales event, China's second-largest annual shopping event. A few weeks ago I reported that Eddie Wu, the CEO of Alibaba Group, would now be directly overseeing its domestic e-commerce arm which includes Taobao and Tmall Group, and it sounds like he's hitting the ground running with his new responsibilities.
___
Amazon is hosting its first-ever Amazon Book Sale, a new shopping event starting on May 15th that offers up to 50% off print best sellers and up to 80% off Kindle Books. The six day shopping event will exclusively run in the US, and Prime-membership is not required to take advantage of the deals.
___
FTX reported that nearly all of its customers will receive the money back that they are owed, two years after the cryptocurrency exchange imploded. The company owes about $11.2B to its customers and estimates that it has between $14.5B and $16.3B to distribute to them. The caveat is that customers will receive the USD value of their holdings at the time of the exchange collapse, and not the actual crypto holdings themselves, which means that they'll miss out on all gains during the past two years during which BTC went from around $16k to now over $60k. Better than nothing though, that's for sure.
___
800,000 consumers in Europe and the US were duped into sharing card details and other sensitive personal data with a network of fake online designer shops operated from China, which comprised one of the largest scams of its kind with 76,000 fake websites created. The scammers used expired domains to host its fake shops in order to help avoid detection by websites or brand owners, and more than 1M orders were processed in the past three years alone.
___
Beyond Inc, which owns Bed Bath & Beyond, Overstock, and Zulily, reported that its Q1 net loss swelled to $72M from $10M a year ago, while its operating loss widened to $58M from $8M. The company's active customers grew to 6M, up 26% from nearly 5M a year ago, however, its average order value dropped to $173 from $220 a year earlier.
___
TikTok will begin automatically labeling AI generated content when it is uploaded from certain platforms like DALL.E 3, Adobe Firefly, Photoshop, and Microsoft Copilot. TikTok will also start attaching Content Credentials to content, which will remain on the media when downloaded, allowing other platforms to read the metadata.
___
eBay is testing an Add To Cart button in search results that opens a Quick View window, allowing buyers to skip the listing page. Technically the button should probably not be labeled “Add To Cart” since it doesn't perform that action, but rather, displays a quick view window with three buttons: Buy It Now, Add To Cart, View All Details. Sellers are worried that buyers will miss crucial details in the product description that may lead to increased returns and negative feedback.
___
Amazon is planning to launch its fleet of drones in Tolleson, Arizona, but the city's extreme temperature is hampering its efforts. Drones can't operate in temperatures exceeding 104 degrees Fahrenheit, a temperature that Tolleson crosses for a full three months of the year.
___
A US district judge dismissed X's lawsuit against Bright Data, a data-scraping company accused of improperly accessing X system and violating X terms and state laws when scraping and selling data. The judge basically said that if X owned the data, it could perhaps argue that it has exclusive rights to control it, but then X wouldn't be able to enjoy the safe harbor of Section 230, which allows the platform to avoid liability for third-party content. Can't have it both ways!
___
Nintendo is discontinuing its X integration for the switch on June 10th, which means users will no longer be able to post screenshots or videos to the platform from their device. The drop in support also affects games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which had game-specific options to send out tweets. Microsoft Xbox dropped support for X in April 2023 and Sony Playstation dropped the service in October 2023 due to the increase in X's API access fees.
___
Amazon claimed that its recordable incident rate — a metric that comprises all injuries requiring “more than basic first-aid treatment” — at its US warehouses has improved by 24% since 2019. However the National Employment Law Project challenged Amazon's injury data in a report last week, claiming that Amazon's overall injury rate in 2023 was 71% higher than that of other employers in the sector at 6.5 cases per 100 workers.
___
Amazon Ads announced three new advertising formats for streaming TV including shoppable carousel ads, interactive pause ads, and interactive trivia ads. Amazon did not say when the new ad types would officially launch, but noted that it will formally present them at a presentation on May 14th.
___
Meta is rolling out an expanded set of generative AI ad tools that can create full image variations with text overlays, expand images to fit across different aspect ratios, and generate alternate versions of headlines and other ad text. The features will become available globally to advertisers by the end of the year.
___
Square introduced a tool called Square Kiosk to allow self-service ordering at fast food restaurants. The device is a combined software, hardware, and payment solution that allows customers to select exactly what they want with customization options, upgrades, and add-ons.
___
The European Parliament announced new measures to make packaging more sustainable and reduce packaging waste in the EU, including reduction targets of 15% by 2040 — which sounds far away but is only 16 years away?! As part of the new rules, the EU will set maximum empty space ratios for e-commerce transportation, ban certain single-use plastic packaging types, and beverage distributors and take-away food will have to offer consumers the option of bringing their own container.
___
Indians who pre-ordered Teslas in 2016 are giving up and seeking refunds of their deposits after Elon Musk canceled another visit to the country last month. Disillusioned Tesla enthusiasts in India say they will now buy a car from the company only if they see it in a showroom, or they'll buy a different electrical vehicle from a company that actually exists in the country.
___
Target is limiting its Pride Month collection to select stores this year instead of rolling out the merchandise nationwide like it typically has for the past decade, due to backlash the retailer experienced last year. Last May customers in certain stores knocked down LGBTQ+ merchandise displays, angrily approached store employees, and posted threatening videos on social media from inside the stores.
___
E-commerce spending from Jan 1 to April 30, 2024 rose 7% YoY to $331.6B, according to Adobe Analytics. One trend Adobe identified during the period is a shift of online spending to purchasing the cheapest goods across personal care, electronics, apparel, home & garden, furniture, and grocery.
___
Plus 7 seed rounds, IPOs, and acquisitions of interest, including Shopify's acquisition of Peel, a tool that integrates with a merchant's tech stack including Klaviyo and Recharge and helps them analyze their sales data to improve customer retention.

Not sure which way to go
I got the attached approval from insurance. It appears they are only authorizing 2 injections per month? My dr prescribed one injection per week. The prescription is subject to a $1600 deductible, and then I pay 30% of the cost which is about $400 per month. But if I only get two injections why would I do that? Then I have to face the availability hurdle.
I don’t know whether to abandon this avenue and go for compounded semaglutide or try to stick with what I was prescribed. If I decide to try compounded semaglutide because I will be paying more anyway. Do I need to start the process over or since I have the Wegovy rx can I just go to a pharmacy that will compound it? Can you switch back and forth?

Additionally, consider the source of the ingredients used in the supplements. Ensure they come from trusted and sustainable sources.

2. Dosage and Form

Understanding the recommended dosage and the form of the supplement is crucial for optimal effectiveness. Consult with your healthcare provider before adding any new supplements to your routine, especially if you are already taking medications or have underlying health concerns.

Please help us with Sunny's passing
https://gofund.me/742d8378
Hello everyone, We're coming here in search of any help we can get. We recently lost our young cat, Sonny, after a struggle trying to get him treatment for a disease called Feline Infectious Peritonitis, or FIP for short.
We first noticed Sunny's stomach swelling a couple of weeks ago, and thought it was worms, so we took him to our primary care vet.
The vet did some X-rays and an ultrasound, and found a build up of fluid in his stomach, and diagnosed him with FIP. He told us it was usually fatal, and recommended us to a specialist to see if there was anything that could be done.
It took several days to see the specialist because he was booked up, and when he saw Sunny, he agreed that Sunny had FIP, and told us about a possible treatment that could help, but because it wasn't FDA approved yet, he had to run more tests to be absolutely certain that it was FIP.
It took another 3 days to get the results back, and Sunny was getting sicker. The day we got the results back, we ordered the medicine, and had it expedited, hoping that it would get here in time.
Unfortunately Sunny passed that night, waiting for the medicine. We're still waiting, even after having it expedited.
We're heartbroken after losing him, he was so playful and energetic, and brought so much life to the household. We're just hoping for any help we can get to help us cover some of the costs of his tests and treatment at the emergency vet. Even if you can't donate, sharing this post would be a huge help as well.
Thanks everyone.

2024.05.13 01:43 Glacerose Health Insurance and IUD Deductible

Hey all.
My wife and I have Ambetter total care from the healthcare marketplace.
Last month my wife got the Mirena IUD inserted by her normal OBGYN. We spoke to the receptionist who called a few days before the procedure to verify our insurance information. She told us it would be covered, but that she was going to speak to the insurance for us and there was any copay or anything needed upfront she'd call back in a few hours. We never got a call back, and assumed the IUD was covered since as far as we were aware all FDA approved contraceptives are covered with no cost. The day of the insertion then came came and she got the IUD and we left.
Now, around 3 and 1/2 weeks later I logged into the insurance portal to view the EOB and saw that Ambetter says we owe over $1100 for the IUD. It looks like it was coded right and all, using the billing code J7298 for the IUD itself. And the other services related to the procedure including her blood tests and stuff like 'surgical trays' were covered 100%. Reading all that, I thought that this had to be an error, so I had my wife log on to her OBGYN patient portal, but the charge is on their too.
I've spent the last hour looking through all the benefit documents, but they say that they cover all contraceptives including hormone IUD's, copper IUD's, and pills. I also looked on the insurance company formulary list and the Mirena IUD is a tier 0 drug, which it states are covered with no copay. So am I missing something? Everything I can find both withhin in our plan documents and legally say that it's covered, and even our evidence of coverage documents says, verbatim, "Family planning/contraception benefits are covered under preventive care, without cost sharing, when provided by a network provider and when the care is legal under applicable law". Her OBGYN is 100% in network, and they've covered other services no problem so that's definitely not the issue.
Any advice? Should I be calling the OBGYN or the insurance company tomorrow, or both? I've never dealt with anything like this before so I'm a little lost.
For extra information, I looked further into the EOB and found some things.
This is what it says in the EOB on the IUD line item. Discounts - $0 Risk Amount- $0 Copay - $0 Coinsurance- $0 Applied to Deductible - $1,110.52. And the 1,110.52 is what it's saying we have to pay, even though everything says it should have no deductible.
And the other things that were covered like her blood tests have the Explanation Code "PV" which marks it as preventative care, but the IUD does not. Should it have been billed as that to have been covered? Wondering if I need to call the OBGYN and get them to rebill as PV if thats the case.

And the other things that were covered during the procedure like her blood tests have the Explanation Code "PV" which marks it as preventative care, but the IUD does not. Should it have been billed as that to have been covered? Wondering if I need to call the OBGYN and get them to rebill as PV if thats the case.

New Eye Surgery Holds Promise for Correcting Nearsightedness
The SMILE eye procedure is similar to LASIK in being less invasive, says one doctor.

By Parminder Deo and Jacqueline Paulis, M.D.
Cleveland resident Tina Noel struggled with glasses and contacts for most of her life. The 44-year-old has been living a blurry and cloudy life as her aging eyes have progressively become drier due to an autoimmune condition.
“I’m very limited to what I can wear anymore,” says Noel. “I can't wear my contacts anymore because my eyes are just progressively getting drier. I feel my eyes get so tired, I can be driving and my eyes just want to shut when I'm wearing my glasses.”

Lasik Alternative Approved by the FDA
The Food and Drug Administration in September approved a new laser eye procedure known as Small Incision Lenticule Extraction, or SMILE. Noel's doctor recommended giving it a try.
The procedure employs a laser, similar to the one used in LASIK, to remove a small piece of the cornea to reshape the eye. Many people with corneal changes that excluded them from LASIK could now be eligible for this new surgical option.
Noel's ophthalmologist, Dr. Ronald Krueger of the Cleveland Clinic, said the SMILE procedure is all about being minimally invasive.
“I often say that SMILE is like a laparoscopic LASIK because it’s making a smaller incision,” Krueger told NBC News.
The new laser procedure is designed to treat nearsightedness in patients aged 22 and older. The price tag is roughly $5,000 and is not covered by insurance.
Dr. Ilyse Haberman, assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at NYU Langone Medical Center, says that, outside of the U.S., SMILE can correct astigmatism and is being further developed to fix farsightedness. But for patients in the U.S., only very specific candidates can get the SMILE procedur

2024.05.12 14:55 Illustrious_Row3651 Is Armodafinil Legit or a Scam? (Read this before buying)

Here is a comprehensive summary of armodafinil, a wakefulness-promoting medication:
Armodafinil is the R-enantiomer of modafinil and has nearly identical pharmacological properties[7]. It acts primarily as a dopamine reuptake inhibitor by binding to the dopamine transporter and increasing extracellular dopamine levels[7][9]. Armodafinil also elevates norepinephrine, serotonin, and histamine levels in the brain, resulting in its wakefulness, cognitive, and mood enhancing effects[9].
Armodafinil is FDA-approved for treating excessive sleepiness associated with narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea, and shift work disorder[2][5]. The standard dosage is 150-250 mg taken orally once daily in the morning[5]. Compared to modafinil, armodafinil maintains higher plasma concentrations later in the day, which may result in improved wakefulness for a longer duration[4].
In terms of pharmacokinetics, armodafinil reaches peak levels in about 2 hours and has a half-life of approximately 15 hours[5][8]. It undergoes hepatic metabolism via amide hydrolysis and S-oxidation by CYP3A4/5 enzymes[8]. While food can delay absorption, it does not significantly impact bioavailability[7].
The most common side effects of armodafinil (≥5%) include headache, nausea, dizziness, and insomnia[1][10]. Rare but serious side effects like severe rash, psychiatric symptoms, and cardiovascular complications have been reported[10]. Armodafinil has some abuse potential and may interact with certain medications metabolized by CYP enzymes[7][9].
Several clinical trials have demonstrated armodafinil's efficacy in reducing excessive sleepiness and improving cognitive function in patients with sleep disorders[6]. However, its use for other off-label indications like ADHD and depression is not as well-established[2]. More research is needed to fully characterize its long-term safety and efficacy.
In summary, armodafinil is a legitimate and effective wake-promoting medication for managing excessive sleepiness in sleep disorders when used as prescribed. However, it is a controlled substance with potential risks that requires medical supervision. Patients should take it under the guidance of a doctor familiar with the treatment of sleep disorders.

2024.05.12 14:53 Illustrious_Row3651 Is Modafinil Legit or a Scam? (Read this before buying)

Here is a comprehensive summary of modafinil's legitimacy, efficacy, safety, and proper use:
Modafinil is a wakefulness-promoting medication that is FDA-approved for treating excessive sleepiness associated with narcolepsy, obstructive sleep apnea, and shift work disorder[2][8]. It is a legitimate prescription drug when used for these indicated conditions under medical supervision.
In terms of efficacy, modafinil has been shown in clinical trials to significantly improve wakefulness and reduce excessive daytime sleepiness in patients with the approved conditions[2][5]. The exact mechanism of action is not fully understood but likely involves increasing dopamine and other neurotransmitter activity in the brain[5][9].
However, modafinil is also frequently prescribed off-label for other conditions like ADHD, depression, MS-related fatigue, and general cognitive enhancement[4][10].
While there are some promising anecdotal reports and small studies suggesting benefits for these uses, the evidence is much more limited compared to the approved indications[4][10]. Modafinil's manufacturer has been fined for illegally promoting off-label uses not backed by sufficient clinical data[4].
When used as directed, modafinil is generally well-tolerated with a low risk of serious side effects[1][9]. Common adverse reactions include headache, nausea, nervousness, and insomnia, which are usually mild[1][7]. However, rare cases of severe skin rashes, psychiatric symptoms, and cardiovascular complications have been reported[1][3]. Modafinil can also interact with hormonal birth control and other medications[7][9].
The standard adult dosage of modafinil is 200 mg taken orally once daily in the morning[6][8]. Doses up to 400 mg/day have been used in clinical trials[6]. Dosage may need to be adjusted for certain populations like the elderly and those with severe liver impairment[6]. Modafinil should be taken only under the supervision of a doctor familiar with its use.
In the US, modafinil is classified as a Schedule IV controlled substance, meaning it has accepted medical uses but also some potential for abuse[2][5]. A valid prescription is required to obtain it legally. In Europe, modafinil's approved uses were recently restricted to only narcolepsy due to safety concerns[3].
While modafinil can be purchased online without a prescription in some countries, this is risky due to the prevalence of counterfeit products from unauthorized sources[2][5]. Patients should only take modafinil as prescribed and procured from legitimate pharmaceutical suppliers.
In summary, modafinil is an effective and generally safe medication for improving wakefulness in patients with narcolepsy, sleep apnea, and shift work disorder when used as directed under proper medical guidance. While there is growing off-label use and interest in modafinil as a cognitive enhancer, more research is needed to establish the benefits and risks for these purposes. Patients and doctors should be aware of the limited evidence, potential adverse effects, and legal status surrounding off-label modafinil use.

2024.05.12 01:17 the_practicerLALA Update Vyvanse finally worked for me after a quick dose change talk with my doctor. **Trigger warning** a very high dose

Note this is my experience just starting vyvanse not after developing tolerance. I was struggling extremely because Vyvanse was not making me feel anything, not even negative side effects. I became extremely distressed because while I have horrible adhd my main reason for wanting Vyvanse was for my severe binge eating disorder. Vyvanse is the only FDA approved drug for BED and after struggling with my BED for so long I hoped so much for Vyvanse and was extremely distressed when it did not help. I wasn't ready to accept tbh that Vyvanse doesn't work for me because I couldn't risk possible appetite increase with adderall or ritalin.
I talked to my doctor who was honestly not helpful at all but luckily amazing people on reddit gave me answers I read a comment here saying high levels of progesterone can block Vyvanse effects (loose terminology here).
I checked my period tracker app I'm currently in my luteal phase. I have pcos and am basically a slave to my menstrual cycle. Every single month without fail I feel like complete shit during my luteal phase and have 0 motivation 0 willpower 0 anything my insulin levels are also fucked and my body is basically a wreck. Then I remembered to when I first started Vyvanse I checked I was in my follicular phase and 30mg actually kinda helped.
In retrospect I thought that was a fluke because currently I was taking 90mg Vyvanse and feeling nothing. But NO, it was my goddammit PERIOD. OFCOURSE 30mg was doing nothing for me because during this stage of my period I am at the absolute lowest.
So I talked to my doctor and asked them about this and they were like uhhh okay try a higher dose like 90mg and I was like uhhhhh I have a hunch that might not work xD so they were like after like a shit done of huffing and puffing fine take 150mg.
I took it hour 1 felt nothing. Hour 2 felt nothing. Hour 3 I thought okay I'll go to the mall with friends. I was walking around a mall and then I realized holy shit.
I wasn't thinking about food. I walked by a pretzel place. I didn't ask my friends to stop. I walked by a fucking Krispy Kreme and my body did FUCKING NOTHING. I realized in that moment it was happening, the obsession, the constantly thinking, the fixation, the need the want the desire was all the constant ringing sound in my head that banged eat eat eat eat sugar wasn't there anymore. I was like holy fucking shit. For the first time in 10 years since I developed my binge eating disorder, I felt normal, the food noise was gone.
I was still scared that this was all a fluke but decided to test the waters so I went to a Cafe with my friends and ordered a latte while she ordered a pastry or something. We sat down and she ate and I realized, holy shit. The food noise is actually gone. I wasn't constantly looking at what she eating, I wasn't having the urge to ask for a bite or get one myself, I wasn't salivating. I was just sitting there normally drinking a coffee. I felt so...normal.
Honestly at that moment I really just wanted to cry. I couldn't describe what it felt like. I felt normal like a normal person with a normal reaction to food.
This is the day after and I'm just pondering what to do now. I really do not think my doctor will write me 150mg dose, he insisted that I try it and won't be an everyday thing. He might at max write 90mg. During my follicular phase though 30mg was good enough for me, so I'm thinking 90mg might be more than enough. But for my luteal phase I know I will need the 150mg again. I'm just mentally preparing for my proper doctor's appointment and how to get him to give me a high dose.
Now yesterday I did feel my heart beating a lot and some jitters and anxiety but it was honestly not that bad. Like for my binge eating disorder ruining my life I would gladly trade that. I'm thinking once I've reached my goal weight and am with a good place with my BED I will probably switch meds. Eventually when I start getting tolerant of 150mg I will probably take Ozempic. The reason I don't take ozempic now is because it's not for binge eating disorder and I feel like I will still be fucked if I lose weight but still have the adhd with food.
Tldr; if Vyvanse is not working it could be your period. Start tracking your period and learn how your body behaves according to it so you can pinpoint when you need higher doses. Reason I've not wanted to try other meds was Vyvanse being the only one approved for binge eating.

2024.05.11 22:12 dude_thats_wild Have you heard of Brella?

I just came across a new FDA-approved product for excessive underarm sweating I think may help me in the future. I get 2-3 boils a year and almost always when it's hot and I'm sweaty. It looks like it'll take a while to roll out to somewhere near me, but I am hoping I'll be able to try it in the future and see if it helps me during the summer.
I'm quite excited and wanted to share it with you all. Of course, there's a possibility it could cause a flare as well but only the future will tell.

2024.05.10 19:20 jkimmel79 Opinion Poll - My shortage dosing Options

So I held my first box of 2.5 for a full month so that I could fill my 5mg and have enough to get through the shortage but things have gotten worse and its not showing signs of letting up. I am due to take my 5mg tomorrow but my local Costco has 2.5 in stock. As I see it I have three options (poll below).
I have been making good progress on the 2.5 (down 24lbs this month so far) the hunger is coming back but the getting full quickly is still going strong. My portions are still way down and I am having trouble eating more than 1500 calories (except on saturdays) No Other side effects except constipation.
My insurance pays for my medicine so I would hate to lose a month of filling at $25 because my PA is currently only 6 months. I know it will get extended but I feel like I should take what I can get now. I know this is annoying to alot of people that are having trouble getting everything. I wish I could help your situation but I can't unless your in the Philly area and need 2.5 and have a costco membership.
*the is no Plan C for me my insurance does not pay for non FDA approved wieght loss medicines* Also Why pay $350 when I can pay $25

2024.05.10 16:27 scsresearch SCS manufacturer kickback forfeit scheme

https://twitter.com/isSCS4me/status/1780354774098980973
I am paraphrasing an excellent comment made on the Failed SCS Group. I have
injected some of my ideas and one from a friend.
Failed SCS patients requesting device removal are ghosted and have not received return calls from the SCS implant practice. The theory is that the neurosurgeon,
PM MD, or industry representative, gets a kickback, which is forfeited should
the SCS implant duration be limited, e.g., less than one year. The SCS practice
intentionally delays your explant for monetary purposes. The SCS manufacturer
aims to reduce premature SCS device count failure.
For example, an SCS patient's PCP failed to connect with the SCS practice.
Your reaction to the delay tactics should be filing a complaint with your
state consumer affairs and medical bureau(s) of your SCS MD(s).
A suggestion to file a report for the FDA's Manufacturer and User Facility
Device Experience(MAUDE). I have included the link, but I believe the MAUDE
database's primary purpose is for Medical Device Reporting(MDR).
https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices/medical-device-safety/medical-device-reporting-mdr-how-report-medical-device-problems
Many device events lack reporting, and the SCS patient should report the
event(s); duplicate reporting is better than nothing.
I recommend sending a certified letter to the SCS practice with your attorney
requesting your SCS removal ASAP. Delaying to remove for monetary gain seems
illegal, but an attorney consult is required.
https://twitter.com/isSCS4me/status/1780961317244821734
An SCS patient encountered the kickback delay of the explant. The attorney
did not want to proceed with malpractice after examining the disclosure. It
is the patient vs the SCS practice. The patient's other option was a $10,000
retainer that was not available. The SCS patient filed a state medical board
report, but there was no investigation. The incident was in Washington
State, USA.
The following paragraph paraphrases part of the excellent comment on the
Failed SCS Group. It has my ideas injected.
For your protection pre-implant, send a portal message or certified letter
stating that your removal decision requires IMMEDIATE action. A portal message
requires a physical copy printed by the SCS practice office. You are effectively
modifying any disclosure(s) that the SCS practice requires you to sign. The SCS
practice might decline to move forward.
My reluctance to share the preceding paragraph in the first kickback
delay-explant post was the confrontational aspect of your SCS practice. Please
be careful when wording your message to the SCS practice. The SCS practice might
challenge you.
The SCS implant is "reversible," and the SCS patient's decision has top
priority because it is the patient's body.
https://twitter.com/isSCS4me/status/1781725386608406630
I recommend bringing a hard copy of the letter below to your first appointment.
After scheduling an appointment, then please FAX. Please feel free to
make any modifications you like below. Please investigate how to file a
complaint with your insurance company.
re: SCS manufacturers kickback forfeit
Dear Doctor ABC.XYZ, etc.
I am aware some SCS practices receive SCS manufacturer kickbacks that are
forfeited when the SCS implant is explanted before a specific time, e.g., less
than one year. I do not want to participate in this scenario. I want
IMMEDIATE explant-action when my SCS implant is determined ineffective.
I intend to file a complaint with my insurance company about any evidence of SCS
practice(s) delaying explant to avoid losing the SCS manufacturer's kickback.
The SCS manufacturer aims to reduce premature SCS device count failure. These
false numbers impact the insurance companies financially because fabricated
SCS data inflates the SCS implant efficacy.
I will send your practice(s) a certified letter of the content of this letter.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
SCS-patient-ABC-XYZ
https://twitter.com/isSCS4me/status/1782770811062948194
The complaint to your insurance company is about fraud. The insurance company's
medical department will examine the SCS device's efficacy history to approve
your procedure. The insurance company protects their profit.
The SCS practice will argue that SCS programming can require a year of effort.
So, why was your SCS trial a week or less with the requirement of a minimum
of 50% pain reduction before proceeding with the SCS implant? Why is the
permanent SCS more challenging to program for the right spot?
I will reemphasize that your SCS practice might react belligerently, especially
one participating in the kickback scheme. So, be prepared to be cool, calm, and
collected.
The final item is reporting the SCS device's premature failure. Every SCS
patient should file an FDA Medical Device Report(MDR) for a premature failure.
It is the US-only method for reliably tracking ab initio(from the beginning,
premature) failures.

2024.05.10 13:50 MGK_2 The Long-Lost Ingredient, Now Located

"What do we have Mr. Franklin?" and he answered, "We have a republic, if we can keep it."
Benjamin Franklin knew that the republic our forefathers created was not perfect in and of its own. No, he realized that there was a certain necessary ingredient that makes it work as intended. He would recognize that by taking a look at where we are today. Had it worked as intended, everyone could not be out for themselves like it is right now.
When George Washington was leaving the presidency he said, "The foundations of our national policy will be laid in the pure and immutable principles of morality." "Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are the support."
The necessary ingredient which Franklin was referring to which was necessary to keep the republic was spoken through the lips of George Washington. Morality and a respect for religion. According to our forefathers, morality was absolutely integral and fundamental for the republic government to function as planned.
How did we end up here? Have we ever lived this way before? Was it ever as dangerous just to go into the city as it is today? We are in a different world today. People protest about absolutely nothing and then come inside with guns a blazing and shoot. It gets crazier by the day.
But the good news is that the games which people play do come to an end.
Leronlimab's Gagging has come to an end as the Imposed Holds were lifted, but the aftereffects cannot be denied. CytoDyn has defended and won back leronlimab's rights to be used in trials across the country, but it is slow going at best, and more akin to walking on broken glass.
The Fundamentals
Leronlimab has the power to deal with the symptoms of disease as well as to augment our Immune System to heal completely from the disease. Leronlimab operates at the heart, at the root of the problems we face. Leronlimab doesn't just deal with the disease superficially, rather, its mechanism of action occurs right where the disease begins, right at the root of the problem. Step One Complete. The need to develop a drug that cures without creating further complications was accomplished.
As for Step 2, it just went down from there. The next rung of the ladder was downward. The means by which the proof of the drug's effectiveness is established; the laws by which it proves itself; well, those ways, means and laws were broken. The parameters of the trials being changed last minute. Given as an ultimatum in a take it or leave it situation, CytoDyn was literally left with no other choice, but to be forced into accepting the new parameters, regardless that the drug was placed at great disadvantage.
So, this gets to the "root" of the problem. Laws broken. The ways and means, the lawlessness that occurred and the drug was squashed. What about the omission of vast volumes of uncompleted data in the final BLA submission made to the FDA. Isn't that another example of breaking laws of standard operating procedures? You don't do that.
Integrity means you do the right thing. Anything other than the right thing, is the wrong thing. Therefore, Integrity is the root. Integrity was lost and laws were broken. They did the wrong thing. Integrity, Morality, these are the missing ingredient which Franklin was referring to, which Washington understood to be absolutely necessary for the proper functioning of the republic.
"This was a portion of Cyrus’ original speech during 9/28/22 Conference Call:
6:50 Dr. Cyrus Arman. Thank you Tanya, and good afternoon everyone. A moral obligation to generate therapies to improve people's lives; A focused and disciplined clinical development strategy; A value generating path resulting in economic returns for our investors. This is CytoDyn's mission."
Integrity was necessary to make the republic last and is also what is necessary for leronlimab to be successful. Why? Because leronlimab has what it takes to be successful. In and of itself, the drug accomplishes what it sets out to do and that is cure disease. But man is inherently wicked.
If Integrity doesn't exist, then lawlessness does. How was the decision ever made to not fully complete the BLA before it was submitted? Were they somehow thinking that the FDA would just allow a new form of incomplete BLA submission? Or did they believe that the FDA was just as corrupt as those responsible for assembling, compiling and reviewing the submission of the BLA? Did Amarex believe they were just playing a game, and could do as they pleased? Were they under the impression that there was never any possible way for this drug to make it as far as it did, so why even bother with the effort of BLA assembly? They were receiving payments. Were they convinced that CytoDyn would just go out of business before the BLA would ever have to be submitted? Maybe Amarex was never ever a believer.
Unlike Amarex, CytoDyn was not of zero faith; nor was IncellDx. Bruce Patterson had tremendous belief and so did NP. Possibly the FDA had no faith, and they might have got that sense of disbelief from KK, as it was him, they were directly dealing with, because, instead of working with the FDA, NP was hiding in the shadows. Regardless, both the FDA and Amarex had to trial the drug according to the principles of fairness regardless of what they believed or thought. Had Amarex believed in the drug, had they believed in the company of CytoDyn, then they would not have done what they did. Maybe they thought that everything would be gone by the time the submission of the BLA became necessary, this way there would be no need to work at all on the data because it never would make it to the point of submission. But CytoDyn was unaware of such thinking and through NP's unwarranted trust, CytoDyn gave Amarex unfettered freedom.
Back to the original intent. For the sake of Humanity, it was necessary for the drug to reach a new level in medicine, the next level of medicinal treatment. The plan for leronlimab to forge that transition from old medicine to a new form of medicine certainly was feasible because leronlimab was the most perfect drug designed perfectly for that very important purpose. But the individuals who were at work driving this game were irresponsible and wicked. Every one of them lacked Integrity. Yet, these men were charged with the responsibility to deliver this next level, next generation drug to all of Humanity. These individuals were somehow recklessly inclined to pervert the inherent freedom allotted to those given such an undertaking. Therefore, look now at the roots of their hearts. How were they bred?
As I said before, the most important part of the problem already was solved. That, of course was the creation of leronlimab. The drug performs at a level that exceeds current medicine. Even at levels that men are still trying to come to grips with, to grasp an understanding of. And man shall come to understand more completely and shall come to grips with the wonders of its capacity and what they learn and discover surely shall not cease to amaze.
However, in the beginning, the medicine was unfortunately placed in the hands of men who lacked Integrity. It was trialed by a CRO that had no faith or belief in the drug they trialed, or no faith in the sponsor of those trials that the trials would definitely fail and fail they would. In addition, the company was created as an OTC stock, making it exceedingly susceptible to the attacks of short sellers. All of this was brought together, Rube Goldberg fashion, in an effort to get leronlimab delivered to Humanity. However, the last ingredient required to make this effort a success, was a deep-seated motivation and zeal that it should come to reality. An absolute, deep-seated, adamant adherence and commitment to absolutely everything necessary to making such an effort successful. But someone, somewhere, somehow, dropped the ball and lost that ingredient.
These people instead started thinking with their pocketbooks instead of with their hearts, minds and conscious. All involved had to have a passion for the mission, checked by restraint, by laws, which had to be upheld as if they were the rule of the land. From the outside, it appeared as if it could work. The company was up and running; trials were getting done, just not resulted, (why not?) (shouldn't that have given off some clues that something was inherently wrong?). Shares were being traded and share were being shorted. Sub-contractors were getting hired and fired almost on a daily basis. It all appeared legit, but things were not even close to being perfect. Later on though, we started seeing Ambulance Chasers. Then the synchronized short attacks. However, a big blow came when FDA imposed the clinical hold. Shouldn't the FDA have already had evidence that leronlimab was safe? Why didn't the FDA have that evidence? Why wasn't that information already in the hands of the FDA?
That information should have been supplied to the FDA by those collecting that information, Amarex. But, instead, they decided that they would blow that all off and conceal that data, even preventing access to it, despite still collecting wages regardless. Why did they do that? Were they living according to the law of the jungle, setting traps, stalking? Survive by anyway you know how? They could not have believed in the drug. They only wanted free money. Amarex knew what they had to do. They had no faith and no love for the purpose. They cared only for their pockets. In addition, they must have hated doing whatever they were doing. Unfortunately, it was exactly that which they were hired for, but CytoDyn never confirmed Amarex's zeal to make this work. CytoDyn failed to realize that in fact, Amarex actually hated leronlimab and also hated CytoDyn. Amarex loved only Amarex, but CytoDyn handed them the work anyway.
So, this grand solution to Humanity's problem was and still is dependent upon a foundation of morality and integrity. Both morality and integrity do produce an adamant adherence to the mission. Without these two virtues, this solution to Humanity's problem would be doomed to fail, and this was not realized at the outset, otherwise, it never would have been entrusted into incapable hands. And it did just about completely fail, but miraculously, it has persisted. Today, it is in better hands. That awakening occurred over the past few years.
Amarex needed to find a way to hide the data of the trial and to keep the data away from CytoDyn. They did that by formatting the data in non-approved, non-standard methods. They gave the ownership of that data to yet another company, despite the fact that the data was owned by CytoDyn.
NP knew only one tactic. He depended on the spewing of his knowledge and on getting the word out regarding leronlimab. His philosophy was to speak up at every available moment. He carried it too far though. NP operated without rules. He was way outside the box. He operated in ways no public company should have. There was no order. There was no restraint. Human nature ruled. Deceitful and desperately wicked. and he told himself and all of us that he was a good person. Who could know it? His reasoning was flawed, it was incorrect. And this too was at the root of the downfall. It ran rampant and unchecked.
The solution has arisen. Those that love the law are in charge now. There is order now. It has been restored. There is Freedom now, but there is also restraint. They have freedom, but they operate with restraint. When NP originally bought leronlimab, it was like he bought the car, then, he reached into the glove box and found the owner's manual, then threw it immediately in the street and said, "I don't need no owner's manual, this is my car, I run it the way I want to." He drove leronlimab without an owner's manual, damn near into the ground. Things fell apart. Why? Because he threw the manual away.
Lalezari is more considerate of the missing link. Integrity. Morality. Lalezari has a deep respect for authority as both he and his father are physicians, bred appropriately, and he is comfortable in their presence, and they are comfortable in his. Lalezari has the owner's manual clutched between his hands. He reads it night and day because he possesses integrity.
