Prologue
Hello and welcome to my post. I will subdivide this into two large parts. One will cover my thoughts, feelings, my hopes and dreams...While the other will tell you the specifics of how I pass the time, what topics interest me, what passions do I posses. I believe that at the end of this leap into my inner world, you dear reader, will have all the necessary information to judge whether we are compatible or not.
Part I
I am writing this in the hopes of finding something that I lack. Lately I have had this feeling, this tinge of melancholy within the dephts of my being, this yearning to find a kindred spirit, another Soul, much like mine, to form a bond with. Perhaps Loneliness is the right word for what is bothering me, but to use it seems to carry with it a connotation of ungratefulness. Ungratefulness for the people that I do have in my life, although none of them, of course, have the connection to me that I seek here.
I have found it increasingly necessary to seek in this Life a sort of purity of thought. What I mean is, I have began to undestand what ideas and concepts are ultimately compatible with my inner most Self, ergo what guidelines I have to follow to feel the most whole. Naturally I have likewise realised what I cannot add to my Self and what I will henceforth reject with all the power that I posses.
With this new context in mind, I now follow on the path of self improvement. I will now begin to mold my Self into my perfected idea of how the Self should be. This is certainly a significant undertaking, one that will not be easy to follow through on but one that I ultimately have to do. To me such context is essential. It is akin to a Guiding Star shining in the night. I will follow this Star for without it I am lost in the vast Darkness.
Looking back at my life, it was suboptimal, especially if one compares the way it molded me to how I will now mold myself. I suppose I must look on with a hint of regret at all that time which one might consider to be lost. Still... I try to stave off such decisively negative interpretations, after all, I have ultimately came to these conclusions. That means that somewhere along the line I had to have picked up on enough of such ideas for them to become so cemented in my consciousness. Well, either that or I was always like this, but in that case I can at least thank my life up to this point for not being able to supress such manifestations of my inner most Self.
To add to the topic of my life, I must admit that not all the battles have yet been won, not all the Demons vanquished, not every Mountain climbed. I want you to keep such things in mind when deciding whether or not to approach me. Many will shy away, I undestand that much, but the pursuit of true Companionship is just another such battle. Having said all that I do believe that being able to overcome hurdles together carries with it a certain appeal. That is to say, what's the fun in joining once the Game is already over?
I don't shy away from such challenges, perhaps to a fault. Certain troubles that I faced in the past carry with them a long shadow over my current health and well being. Still, I intend to change little in this regard other than the proficiency with which I will clash the current of my Will against the cliffs of Life.
Part II
In this part of my post I will tell you about my interests and hobbies, I will try to be thorough, commonality in this regard is rather important to build a relationship
History. I have had an interest in history for almost a decade now, it started back in school and developed from there. Well, now that I think about it one could argue that it started even earlier in my life as I liked watching the odd historic documentary or film aired on television but it wasn't regular back then, I never actively sought it out. I am mostly interested in European history in the period between the 18th-20th century but I sometimes branch out to other time periods and other parts of the world. I watch various channels related to history and read articles and sometimes books. I have recently got a few books on the German revolution of 1848/1849 and a historical magazine on the Thirty Years' War. Besides that I try to visit museums sometimes.
Literature. Especially old novels. I like to immerse myself in the Worlds of these books, I tend to read them while listening to thematically fitting music and take my time with them. One time you are following a troubled Youth in his quest for spiritual understanding of the world, another you see the aged and decrepit Doctor gambling his very Soul on the promises of abtaining satisfaction in earthy pleasures, then again your olfaction notices the most pleasant scent known to man even as the one eminating it has the appearance of a revolting Frog. These and many other stories open up to you once you decide to set foot into the literary World.
Languages. I know three, with one being a bit rusty. I am currently working intently on strengthening it. I believe that if I continue to apply myself in this regard then I should be able to finally conquer it. What language am I working on? Well, if you were to stack all the major works in it they would be as tall as a house... It is fun to go through different works in multiple languages, the same goes for film, games and such.
Games. I recently played Cyberpunk 2077. Well as recently as I played any major story centric game. Now that the dust has settled and the bugs mostly removed...It's not that bad. The main questline at least. Besides that I tried Fallout 76 (Very average, I'm dissapointed with what they made the "RPG" system) and I might give Deus Ex Manking Divided another spin (since it's somewhat similar to Cyberpunk when it comes to its aesthetics). Dark Souls is one of my favorite series, I still haven't beaten Elden Ring though. When it came out I wasn't in the right mindset to invest a hundred hours into it, with all those bosses and difficult locations. I think I'll only consider playing it if I am streaming it to someone. I am generally interested in either streaming games or having the person I am talking to stream them to me. To be specific I mean streaming to a single person while being on call. Besides that I'm a big fan of Paradox strategy games, especially Europa Universalis IV and Heats of Iron IV, I tend to only play single player since I find multiplayer with many people to be rather stressful but on the other hand I have nothing against a co-op game. I'm not the best player though, despite the ammount of hours I have in them. Another great game I would mention would be Dragon's Dogma. A very underrated RPG. I recently beat it again and it was an atmospheric and interesting experience. It is one of those games that feel like they have an endless ammount of depth and constant new secrets to discover.
Anime and Manga. In recent times my interest in them has waned but I still watch the occasional series here and there. Like Cyberpunk Edgerunners (Which I found to be rather mediocre) and the very good first season from the new arc of Bleach. Some of my favourite series include: Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Death Note, Fate;Zero, Psycho Pass, Code Geass and Attack on Titan. I wouldn't mind if you were to introduce me to some new series, maybe based on the ones I mentioned. My favourite Manga is Berserk which I still follow, althought I am still not certain on the direction that the new author is taking. I suppose it really is a matter of contention whether a somewhat (or considerably warped) vision is better than an unfinished work. One could argue that a few novels remain unfinished and possess a macabre appeal to them as such.
Music. Classical music has a very special place in my heart. A few of my favourite pieces would be: Clair de Lune, Nocturne Op. 9 No.2, Devil's Trill Sonata, Danse Macabre, Valse Sentimentale, Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92: II. Alegreto (by Beethoven) and Suite from Swan Lake, Op. 20a: I. Scene. Moderato. There are more but these ones always invoke something in me when I listen to them. Besides Classical I also enjoy listening to Synthwave, old Western pop and J-pop, both modern and from the 20th century.
Esotericism. I am interested in things spiritual, mystical, magical and esoteric. I have read religios texts, magical grimoires, introductions to various schools of thought. It is interesting to me.
Epilogue
Hopefully I was able to cast the spotlight upon my inner World in a clear and unequivocal manner. I feel the need to add to the aforementioned that I am rather introverted, which means that I tend to dislike large social gatherings. I managed to condition myself to be able to endure the presense of large groups of people but it isn't something that I would seek out in most cases. Besides that I am neurodivergent and suffer from certain issues with mental health. I have to take medication to keep myself under control. They work well enough but certain days are harder than others. I respect the struggle that others have with mental health but in the context of a relationship I have my limits, no one with BDP for instance. I am also not looking for anything casual. I understand than one cannot demand depth and meaning from a conversation with an absolute stranger, that is akin to trying to build a sand castle right before the waves strike but I ask at least that you enter with a mindset that this might become something of significance. I also do want to say that I am completely Monogamous. My preference? The sickly, pale, intellectual who watches rain droplets slide down the window in Autumn. Lastly, if I enjoy the company of a person I tend to not want to let them go.

Purchase: I contributed ~1000$ for the White 16gb/512gb model on 6th Jan, 2023, received it on 24th Apr, 2024 via FedEx in India. Amazingly, given their experience I suppose, they used an India specific import code that made the duty near zero! I can't tell you how glad I was to save some money as these devices are pretty expensive & a bit of a gamble.
First Impression: OH MY GOD! The White body, the bezel less gorgeous screen! My first even handheld! 😍🥰💝💘🎮
Support: (too many in 1 year!)
#1 - 1 month in: The first support issue was actually Aya being proactive and sending out the Heat Dissipation Upgrade Kit to everyone as the original design had a flaw. Got it on 27th Apr 23.
#2 - 6 months in: The back shell developed a spontaneous crack at the top. After seeing all the bad reviews about support I was very sad BUT once I email aya support email, a ticket got created. I was patient and I had provided concise info + photos + translation and it all went smoothly. Emailed 24th Nov 23, they sent out a replacement on 16 Dec 23.
#3 - 10 months in: I started hearing noise from the fan. Again, I was a bit apprehensive but created a ticket on 22 Feb 24 with concise info, photo and videos and viola, pretty soon had a replacement sent out on 1st March 24! The package mysteriously for returned before it left the seller for some reason and I notified support and the send out a another one on 5th march 24. Sadly they did not send the O Ring that goes between the fan and the back shell to channel air more efficiently.
#4 - 10 months in: The battery started dying down. The battery would be above 60% suddenly system would restart, showing 3% after booting. This time I confidently created a ticket on 28 Feb 24, was told they had to wait for restock and they sent it out on 27 March 24.
Ayaneo and AN2 Long Term Review:
#1: Ayaneo: These manufacturers are not for newbies. You need to know the depths of Windows OS, emu settings, TDPs etc. You will probably also need to know how to service the device. You need to be extremely patient as every communication is painfully slow given the time & culture difference + small overworked teams.
#2 Build quality: Not great. There are heat issues, fitting tolerances are obviously not at par. Very very delicate. Software was very poor but has come a long way. Anyone who owns these devices will need to replace the battery + fan every year.
#3 Competitor: Enter the Steam deck. I got gifted the OLED version by my Boss (yes lol). And I almost stopped using the AN2 as the deck is decidedly better at everything. I posted about it here (AN2 won switch emulation back for me)! Now that there are Allys and Legions and Claws in the world, it is that much harder to recommend buying from Aya and similar sellers unless you get passionate about some upcoming device like Ayaneo Flip. They also promised a 7840U upgrade kit a while back but alas that never happened and I really don't like that at all as it would have given this amazing device more power to fight the competition and shown Aya products have 2nd lives!
#4 Post 1 year: The 6800U is still good for low power gaming. The bezel less 1080p 60fps ultra vivid screen is so great. The grip shape is called "baby sleeping position" and while that is the ultimate cross culture unintentional humour, I have grown to agree. I never push the device past 22w as I know that is just asking for failure in the long run and given that I get amazing switch emu experience between 11w-18w. I have replaced the Fan, the Battery and upgraded the Thermal Paste to PTM 7950, I am pretty sure it can last for another year.🤞
TL;DR: Great device, still going strong after a year even after I have a Steamdeck OLED. Had a bunch of problems under warranty and got stellar support albite the snail's pace. Build quality is lower then big manufacturers but as long as you are a tinkerer, patient and have good luck then Ayaneo is great.

2024.05.14 08:02 shrektification Why the base model M3 MacBook Air is the best option for me (and probably you too)
I just purchased the M3 MacBook Air (13" 8gb ram) after days of research between the different MacBook models that are currently available to purchase. Although this is my opinion, I will share details on why I feel that the expensive spec bumps are not worth the money for the majority of computer users.
My current computer- 2015 MacBook Pro 13" (also base model, 8gb ram). I love this computer, but it is pretty heavy and the fan is noisy. Software has been phased out too. My need for a replacement is simple- something light, quiet, fast, and reasonably priced.
Why not the base M1 for even less? This one was tough, but ultimately, the design refresh is what sold me on paying a little more for either the M2 or M3 model. Plus, it won't be aged out as quickly by Apple and the M3 is a rockstar performance-wise, even with a small SSD and RAM configuration.
Isn't 8gb of Ram in 2024 an atrocity? My opinion- there is not compelling evidence that these new Apple silicon machines need extra ram to complete pretty much any task that ordinary people do. Sure, if you are using a lot of memory for extended periods of time, you should pay more for a larger SSD and more ram. But, it is silly to argue that typical use like a handful of Chrome tabs or Excel sheets will push a new 2024 MacBook to the breaking point unless you pay $200-$600 for an upgrade. The swap memory can cover you if things suddenly get wild with your RAM usage.
The truth about spec bumps: Too many tech reviewers point to the idea of needing more memory for performance in the MacBook Air, but the actual data they show is focused on stressing the system to its maximum. Under ordinary use, the difference is extremely tiny, hardly detectable. I don't use Final Cut Pro, Logic, or advanced Adobe programs. If you are a GarageBand, iMovie, and Photoshop person like me... get the 8gb. Don't waste your money. These laptops are wildly fast and efficient.
If you care about high frame rates for gaming and having enough RAM to process rendering massive video files or compiling complex code... maybe think about getting a MacBook Pro... or idk... a computer built for those tasks?
I am convinced that most of the core and memory upgrades for 90% of MacBook users are a marketing scam. Even the idea of "future proofing" seems a little over-optimistic to me. Apple is the master of planned obsolescence and alluring people to new products and design. Even if the specs seem beefed up and timeless, Apple will design software and hardware that ages your machine in 5 years. There will always be something newer and better... so why waste money now to "future proof" if you'll buy an upgrade then anyway?
Anyway, those are my thoughts. If you are on the fence about buying the M2 or M3 MacBook Air, I hope this is helpful.

My current computer- 2015 MacBook Pro 13" (also base model, 8gb ram). I love this computer, but it is pretty heavy and the fan is noisy. Software has been phased out too. My need for a replacement is simple- something light, quiet, fast, and reasonably priced.
Why not the base M1 for even less? This one was tough, but ultimately, the design refresh is what sold me on paying a little more for either the M2 or M3 model. Plus, it won't be aged out as quickly by Apple and the M3 is a rockstar performance-wise, even with a small SSD and RAM configuration.
Isn't 8gb of Ram in 2024 an atrocity? My opinion- there is not compelling evidence that these new Apple silicon machines need extra ram to complete pretty much any task that ordinary people do. Sure, if you are using a lot of memory for extended periods of time, you should pay more for a larger SSD and more ram. But, it is silly to argue that typical use like a handful of Chrome tabs or Excel sheets will push a new 2024 MacBook to the breaking point unless you pay $200-$600 for an upgrade. The swap memory can cover you if things suddenly get wild with your RAM usage.
The truth about spec bumps: Too many tech reviewers point to the idea of needing more memory for performance in the MacBook Air, but the actual data they show is focused on stressing the system to its maximum. Under ordinary use, the difference is extremely tiny, hardly detectable. I don't use Final Cut Pro, Logic, or advanced Adobe programs. If you are a GarageBand, iMovie, and Photoshop person like me... get the 8gb. Don't waste your money. These laptops are wildly fast and efficient.
If you care about high frame rates for gaming and having enough RAM to process rendering massive video files or compiling complex code... maybe think about getting a MacBook Pro... or idk... a computer built for those tasks?
I am convinced that most of the core and memory upgrades for 90% of MacBook users are a marketing scam. Even the idea of "future proofing" seems a little over-optimistic to me. Apple is the master of planned obsolescence and alluring people to new products and design. Even if the specs seem beefed up and timeless, Apple will design software and hardware that ages your machine in 5 years. There will always be something newer and better... so why waste money now to "future proof" if you'll buy an upgrade then anyway?
Anyway, those are my thoughts. If you are on the fence about buying the M2 or M3 MacBook Air, I hope this is helpful.

Under VA law i know there are two options. 1) pay and deduct and 2) tenant assertion, which involves the court. I want to do option 1 and get a liscenced contractor to repair the AC and then deduct from rent for the following month. Is this possible? and if so would i be protected from eviction?

The first symptom that something wasn't working as intended was Windows "stopping" my GPU because "it has reported problems", code 43. A standard clean driver installation solved it.
The whole system worked fine as usual for the next, non-consecutive, 24 hours until I powered it on in the morning. After putting in my pin, during the transition from the login screen to the desktop, the video has artifacts for 1 to 2 seconds, similar to those you get from a digital TV signal breaking up during the rain. Reseated the HDMI cable on both ends, didn't happen again. I go to the kitchen to grab a coffee, when I'm back, there's no video and all fans are at 100%. Nothing changed until I restarted everything using the reset button.
The next couple of hours had me trying to install the NVidia graphics driver, as it was suddenly gone (again), with the system randomly crashing when I interacted with any part of any UI or when any window or overlay opened on my desktop. UI element updates, the screen goes gray blank, and after 40 seconds there's no video and all fans are running at 100%.
When I finally managed to install the driver, it didn't fix the issue. The system would crash exactly the same way as when the drivers were gone.
Picked up my previous SSD, which still had my previous Windows 10 installation in it, and booted on it. The system would crash the exact same way, and the video driver was gone the exact same way as in the main SSD. To no surprise, a successful clean installation of the drivers didn't change anything. The system would crash exactly the same way.
So I decided to make a copy of the stuff that was still relevant to me before doing a clean installation of windows on that second SSD. The system booted, and, as soon as possible, I initiated a task of copying some folders totalizing more than 30GB from that SSD to my secondary HDD - and literally nothing else. The system didn't crash for over 40 minutes straight while copying the files, but the exact moment I moved my mouse and it hovered over the cancel operation button, my system crashed exactly like the other couple dozen times.
Booted my Windows installation media, the system didn't crash at any moment during the media boot, glassed the secondary SSD, and did a clean installation - and the problem is still present. Same way before and after the video drivers are installed.
I thought it was my RAM, cause I have two kits with very similar specifications running with the DOCP profile of the faster one. One is a CL16 1.2V 2666MHz 2x8Gb Ballistix Sport LT and the other is a CL16 1.35V 3200MHz 2x8Gb T-Force kit - the timings are the same. Since they have identical specifications, except for the obvious differences, I decided to run them with the DOCP profile of the faster one. I ran MemTest86 on the system when I had this crazy idea, with the 4 sticks running with the specs of the faster DOCP profile and it had no errors. Still, I tried running the system with the 4 sticks with no profile enabled, at 2400MHz, then with only the Ballistix sticks at their respective DOCP, and then I tried with only the T-Force sticks with, and without, their profile enabled - the system crashed the same way in all them.
After trying to find the faulty component the whole day I gave up and went to sleep. The next day I tried running the system with only the Ballistix sticks - didn't crash the whole day. At the end of the day, I swapped the sticks and tried running the system with only the T-Force sticks. Over an hour idling with 2 games running at the same time and literally nothing happened. I then tried to run the system with all 4 of them at once with the faster DOCP profile, as it had been running for a week, and then the system, once again, didn't crash.
Now I'm back to being suspicious of the GPU, the problem is I don't have any other GPU, CPU, (compatible) APU, or motherboard to test and continue testing to find the problem.
Luckily everything is still in warranty. The TUF GTX 1660 TI is 10 months old, and the R5 5600, the 2x T-Force sticks, and the TUF B550-Pro motherboard are barely 3 weeks out of the package.

Anyway tonight, I had to log on to his profile on the laptop - I sometimes do microsoft rewards on his profile that's why I needed to log on. We use a separate browser for that but I accidentally clicked on the main browser, I was confused my the rewards page didn't come up so clicked on history browser to bring it up and then realised I was using the wrong one. But whilst I was on there for that second I noticed that one of the last visited pages was porn, I kinda rolled my eyes but was curious to see what he had been watching. For the record I don't mind porn, it's also opened up discussion to what kind of things he'd like etc.
As I started scrolling through there was so so much of it. Sometimes for an hour at a time, and multiple times of day. Even when he's on his break at work. Today he got all weird about my daughters friends just walking into the house, and when I looked at today's viewing times some of it was right about when she would have come in the house so I'm guessing he was very nearly almost accidentally caught. We have discussed it before about when he's doing it, because I'm in bed a lot he's normally downstairs in our living room when he's doing it but I've told him it bothers me when he knows my daughters home because she could easily come downstairs. His answer was that he would hear her and I kind of dropped the conversation because I felt like he wasn't getting where I was coming from. But looking at the times and frequency has really bothered me, especially during work.
To make matters worse, the last 2 times we have tried to have penetrative sex he has lost his erection. He blamed it on being tired and getting leg cramp. We had a conversation about it because obviously there were a lot of feelings about it, and he said that it's probably due to his weight etc and then I asked him if he had had "alone time" that day. In case it's not obvious that's code word for him knocking one out. He said he had, and I said well that isn't normally a problem for you even when you had. He told me that even with porn now it's taking him a long time to cum, almost like he's bored sometimes. I didn't want to make him feel totally shit about losing an erection so I didn't go into how it made me feel too much, I just said maybe porn less if it's an issue.
But the truth is it really did bother me and I really do feel like it's an issue, and then to see all that porn he's been watching, and the risky times he's doing it (another example - he knows I have carers coming any time from 12pm-2pm on certain days and there's activity during those times when he could have been caught) and the fact he's even doing it at work it's all just gotten a bit much. I wanted to immediately go wake him up and confront him about it all but instead I just sat here crying not knowing what to do or say and I just feel lost. I don't know if he will brush it off or what. I looked up porn addiction and there was so much conflicting info about what constitutes as addiction and once a day is fine and normal etc etc. Just feel a bit lost and figured fuck it go have a rant on reddit.

I am up for any subject really. But a bit about me, I'm fairly nerdy. I enjoy video games, anime, learning to code, programming, and reading comics. I also like to work on my cars. I mostly play single player Japanese style RPGs like Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, etc. I do enjoy some anime, but I'm not a hardcore fan. Mostly I just like ones like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Death Note. As far as comics go, I really only read Marvel. I got into them when I was getting a little disappointed in the MCU movies and wanted to read more about the source material. I am also teaching myself how to code in Python 3, mostly to improve my game play in the games I do play. I also enjoy working on cars and have two myself that I work on when time and resources allow.
But again, I really just want some company and can talk about anything.
