This has turned into an insane situation. The forum won’t let me post any pictures of our conversation, which is upsetting, but this has gone haywire.
About a month and a half ago, my dog died. I posted on redditgetsdrawnbadly for some silly drawings. I haven’t really posted much, but I’ve seen people do that and it seems to make them feel better. Her death was so sudden, I miss her so much. Anyways, this user commented on the post about how she did a watercolor painting and would do another to make me smile. I was overjoyed and offered another photo to make her painting easier. She messaged me a picture of the paintings and I was so happy! She looked like her old chunky self. The user then told me she’d send them to me if I wanted them, for free or “pay/tip what you can, when you receive them”. I gave her an address she could send them to. She said she’d send them off later that day and send me a tracking number. My last message was asking for her Venmo or cashapp since I didn’t mind compensating her well ($150. I am off well enough and wanted to pay her back for her kindness). No response. For one full month, I texted her every week or so asking for an update on the URL. Just a “hey, any update?” Or “Hello?”. No response. I thought I got scammed, and was worried about my safety (gave someone my address, which is my own fault) so I checked her account to see if she had been active. She was very active! That made me upset, so when I saw she commented on someone’s post about “making pet portraits and sending them off as a ‘pay what you want’ “ I fumed. I responded to her comment and basically said “This isn't true. They'll do it but never send it to you and will ghost you when you ask for any updates. They drew my dog who passed away and ghosted me after I gave them my address. Don't waste your time like I did.”
That must have set her off. She messaged me back immediately saying her cat died and she couldn’t send my package because of it. I told her I didn’t need the package sent right away, I just wanted communication. Even a simple, “hey, I’m busy rn I’ll get to you when I can” would’ve soothed my anxiety. Apparently, I’m a terrible person. I was calm and collected in my response to her, but she twisted it around and said “Sorry my cat suddenly you have ruined my Mother's Day I'm bawling. I only tried to do something nice and I got slandered all over. I hope you get it. If I die suddenly soon and you hear about it on Reddit, I hope you know you contributed to it.” (Exact copy and paste)
I suggested seeking professional help. I couldn’t block her because I unblocked her yesterday to respond to her comment. Now I’m waiting for 9pm tonight to block her again.
She has sent people to harass me and call me a scammer. Saying I’m “scamming for free paintings”. All I did was ask for silly doodles!! She then said “she never even paid postage”in a comment about me, which is ironic considering she told me in DMs that I didn’t need to pay a dime (like I said above, I was going to compensate her when I received the paintings, but we never made it that far. I never even got her info). She messaged me saying she’ll escalate this situation if I don’t apologize for slandering her and to never “cross a witch”. Then she said I’ve ruined her health and she’s dealing with cancer and I’ve ruined her spark for drawing because of how much I “slandered” her with my “lies”.
I just want to know where I went wrong here. I wish she’d block me so this can be over. She is blowing up my phone with her friends harassing me, all because I responded to her public comment. Her last text to me was “Guess u decided to FAAFO. Good luck!” I want this over. She’s going to paint me in a terrible light and I’m exhausted from arguing with people online.

So actually gave the game a shot and liked it. Found out I had 30 minutes left on the free trial for PC and quickly subbed to Ubisoft + Premium. Hopped back on the game, and it counted down to 0 and will not let me log on anymore, prompting me to purchase it. Uninstalled/Reinstalled it a couple of times to no Avail, and will not let me download anything but the Free Trial, or just Purchase the game completely. Any work arounds or am I just dumb?

This happened to me last week. A friend of mine told me about a Mastodon instance called Aethy, that is supposed to be anti-censorship. I was all for that, because censorship sucks, and free speech is cool, so I joined.
I was having a good time, making friends, until last week when I got an email saying my account had been permanently suspended. I was super confused; I hadn't done anything wrong, just posting about my fave actor (Paul Reubens) and swooning over him, lol.
So I went on the site and logged in, to see if it would tell me why I was permanently suspended... and it said "Hate speech in bio". Cue me with a confused face. The only "controversial" things in my bio was that I stated I was part-Israeli, and I had the phrase "Am yisrael chai" at the end of my bio.
I tried to appeal my suspension, saying that I can't control my ethnic make-up, and that "Am yisrael chai" is not some hate speech statement, and tried to explain to them what it means.
Nope. My suspension stands, so I'm effectively banned.
But yet, people can post vile antisemitic hatred (supposedly against their rules) but it's okay as long as they have the Palestinian flag and stuff in their bio.
Sorry this turned into a bit of venting, but yeah.

I’ve been lurking here for a few years, trying to find ways to deal with my partners extreme mood swings and anger. This is my first post, so if that’s inappropriate, I’m sorry. I'm also sorry if the tone of this post is inappropriate, I just need to get it off my chest with people who may have experienced similar things. I want to also clarify that I know Bpd doesn’t MAKE you an ass, my ex just loved to use his diagnosis as a reason to abuse me and not take accountability for it.
He has a 9/9 presentation and it was constantly taken out on me. For 10 years. I feel like a few months ago I finally got the ick for how he was treating me and then eventually reached my boiling point and we had a blow-out fight a few days ago where I finally screamed and yelled at him. I really got in his face and didn’t let him not respond and just kept yelling. Then when he acted upset and hurt and “scared” by it I quoted him directly and went ”Oh, so I’m just NEVER allowed to be ANGRY?? Can’t ever have a negative emotion?” and he seemed to really not understand that that’s what he says about twice a week while he slams shit around the house and terrifies our pets and me. I can’t tell you how nice it was to let it all out. I don’t even care that I have to pack up 26 years of shit in 30 days because I just feel so awesome about not getting treated like that every day and waking up at 7am to him already being a whiny baby about nothing.
I feel so free. I don’t know that I’ve ever felt this relaxed and content in my life. I feel like I was developing more bpd symptoms the longer I endured his treatment and it already feels like it's melting away because I'm just out. I’m not paranoid anymore (cheated on me constantly - my friends literally think his secret gf is pregnant and that’s why he was fucking with me so bad the last few weeks 😂 to get me out of the house and move her in) I feel good about my body, I’m sleeping better than I have in years, and not to be nsfw, but without someone pawing at me 24 hours a day and constantly being vulgar towards me I FINALLY feel like my sex drive is coming back. I’ve literally only been out of his house for like 3 days and I already feel like that was months ago. I’m hanging out with new friends and enjoying going on nature walks and exercising without someone leering at me and trying to touch me. I’m excited to see what life is like away from the abuse he put me through constantly. I’m excited to just not be treated like shit and then get blamed for it cause he “can’t help it with his Bpd!” But then also won’t to therapy regularly, won’t take meds, won’t even do a goddamn work book on his own cause it’s “too hard” - as if being around someone who regularly acted like he couldn’t stand me was easy. I've calculated:

1. Total projected fed income tax liability for year (no FICA/state) = X
2. Total expected fed withholding for year = Y

Y - X = $2557.68, so overpayment expected and big refund
Clearly the IRS withholding calculator prompts you to enter the appropriate strange numbers into W4 Step 3 (dependents and other credits) and Step 4 (other income, deductions, extra withholding), i've heard some folks get prompted to increase their other income and enter deductions, some are prompted to enter dependents (when they have none), etc.
Anyway, I'm shocked there is no instructions on simple numbers to enter to minimize any refund...perhaps because Uncle Sam likes interest free loans and it is a "cool if you do but we're not gonna hold your hand to do so because it reduces our loans".
Here is what I am thinking of doing, let me know if incorrect: 4b 'deductions' is calculated from a worksheet in which you enter a number that is subtracted by the personal exemption $14600.
So if I put $2557.68 into line 4b, would this adjust the paycheck withholdings appropriately for the tax year? I'm assuming this line is for the tax year and not per paycheck...although given that 4c extra withholding is per pay period maybe this is not true?
Appreciate any tax accountant advice especially since stuff like Intuit Quickbooks is so ubiquitous and everyone just uses it to punch in numbers.

TLDR: Took a big vacation, and now have a seemingly punitive custom PTO policy being enforced that does not align with our handbook policy. Any legal grounds here, or just be upset about it?
My company (in NY state) introduced an unlimited PTO policy last year. I requested a 13 day vacation with 6 moths of notice and got approved by my boss who is now gone. I followed all the handbook rules. My new boss was hesitant about me taking this much time, asking if my tickets were refundable or if I could check in during vacation. I said no to both.
The handbook says any requests up to 3 days need to be submitted 20 days in advance. The supervisor then has 3 days to approve/deny. 3 to 5 days require 30 days notice. Over 5 days requires 30 days and ownership approval. The employee may be required to check messages during pto if deemed necessary by the supervisor.
After the fuss around the big vacation, I've been asked by my new boss (one of two owners) to submit a "pre-submittal" request directly to him outside of our pto software for any requests over 2 days. If approved, then I have to submit an actual request in our software for approval by him. Any requests of 3 days or more need ownership approval from both owners. I was also asked to submit pre-requests for any winter holiday time off...in the beginning of April.
I couldn't find any labor law in regards to non national holiday pto for exempt salaried employees. Is there anything I can do here aside from just be upset that this feels punitive for me taking 13 days off in an unlimited pto policy? I've asked around and nobody else has this custom policy. Handwriting instruction has no place in this globally changing society that is geared more and more towards technology. Technology has no doubt pervaded into our school systems on a global level. Kids in elementary schools are receiving chromebooks, ipads, and even laptops. This is even the case for my own situation, in which I was given a chromebook for assignments in fifth grade. However, schools have continued to implement handwriting practice into daily routines, and for what reason? The opinions are starting to sway against teaching handwriting skills, however. Teachers themselves are stating that they believe we need to do away with the practice and “move on”(Source A). It is not only an individual basis level, however, as even forty one states have implemented courses that omit cursive from their curriculum as a whole(Source A). The fact that not only individuals are rebelling against this “archaic [...] communication” but also a majority of states on a national level are doing so highlights how change is what the nation wants. Specifically, technology is making the teachings of handwriting obsolete. The keyboard allows students to be “quicker on the keyboard” and can help them be “better writers as handwriting takes up less of their education”(Source C). Others agree with this sentiment that doing away with handwriting can give more time for education in other subjects too. For example, some articles are saying that handwriting is taking away time that could be better prioritized for “essential life-skills” like finance and programming(Source E). The sentiment of teachers, editors, states, and more, is that handwriting has no place in a society that is evolving.
The supposed skills that come with teaching handwriting at our schools are lacking in direct benefits. For example, some argue that handwriting activates cognitive and fine motor skills because it requires knowing what to write and how to use motion to write as such(Source D). However, this assertion could be applied to any scenario. Say painting: it requires a vision of what to make and the skills to create the work. However, why is painting not a required curriculum in many schools? This basic line of reasoning has been pointed out by others too, with one pointing out how “playing the original Super Mario Bros helps develop fine motor skills”(Source E). Knowing where to jump or which pipe to take is the equivalent to using your cognitive skills while inputting such decisions into your controller is using motor skills. However, schools are not requiring 15 minutes a day to gaming. This comparison between handwriting and Super Mario Bros underscores how the perceived benefits of handwriting are, in reality, not inherently needed. Another point of view to highlight is that while handwriting instruction may have benefits, they are highly constrained to when one is in school. In Source F, for example, it is shown that the use of paper over technology is heavily prevalent but in K-5. In Source D, it is said that elementary-age students were found to write more during their time. However, these assertions do not take into account the realities of our society. Children are not in the growing technology-focused workforce. Children will not have the time to take such liberties when having to take quick notes in high school or college. Children will be losing out on time that could be used to develop other more important skills.
Overall, the practice of handwriting instruction is not needed in today’s schools because the overall consensus agrees with such and the supposed benefits of handwriting do not outweigh the loss.

Before I start, some background: we both deleted the app when we started dating. I also never saw any emails from hinge from his phone when I was with him and he goes on his emails when I’m with him. So why did he not delete it earlier? Is this a green flag in our relationship?

I was recently logged out of my instagram account and the experience was SUPER frustrating so I thought I’d make a post on here to help other people in need.
What happened was, I changed my instagram password online and then went to go log in on my app, and it was asking for backup verification codes that I did not have. The other option was to have a code texted to me, but no matter how many times I tried, the code would not send to me, so this is how I fixed it.

• stay logged out of your account for at least 24 hours. do not attempt to login or get a code sent to you
  
• make sure you have ALL numbers on your phone unblocked, sometimes you could have the number for instagram blocked unknowingly
  
• after 24 hours, go use a private browser to attempt to log back into your account
  
• after this the code was texted to me successfully, but i was unable to log into my instagram app for another 24 hours
  

Good luck logging back into your account since I know just how upsetting and frustrating this experience can be.
One last note, instagram DOES NOT have a customer service line. There is one posted online, but if a male voice with an accent picks up THAT NUMBER IS A SCAM. He will try and get you to download an app to access your banking information. Luckily, I was able to recognize he was a scammer when he asked me to download this app (a real customer service line would NEVER ask you to do this) but seriously, stay safe out there guys.

-Its too dayum difficult to get an American Express credit card. If I share my personal experience after providing them with my bank statement, my past three month salary slips, my ITR fillings they still asked for two more proofs of income. I’ve given my wife one of my old WOT accounts max tier 5 having worked up to tier 7 and we are mostly playing tier 4-7 (mean 6). She gets in on average 1-2 shots of damage per battle. She doesn’t know how to play light tanks or brawl. She hates non turreted tank destroyers. We only play in platoons. I try to explain my thought process and what I’m thinking and the different mechanics but she isn’t improving. Some issues are just situational awareness, not seeing things in front of her and having trouble translating things on the map to her situation. We have been watching tip videos and skill. But I feel as though I’m at a loss as to how to help at this point. I’ve got around 15k games and have been playing off and on since 2011. So I guess I take a lot of my game knowledge for granted.
What are some more productive ways to help my wife improve?
Note: I’m not forcing her to play. If anything she has forced me out of retirement after having sworn off free to play games. Of all the games we have played she chose this one. Gonna try and make this short. I was an avid COD player starting around 2010-2011. I played every release leading up to about 2017 when my PS4 bit the dust and i just thought of using my time doing other things. fast forward to xmas this past year my lady and i decide to buy a ps5, shortly after the new mw3 remaster came out and i purchased that. i do not play the campaign ever i only play multiplayer, more specifically i basically only play TDM or hardcore TDM. In april i noticed i had random friends on my friends list that were in chinese/japanese characters, at first i was like how did those get there, but then i thought maybe someone switched the name on their account from my old friends from my playing days. to be safe i deleted the old friends outside of who i play with currently, including the strange accounts.
Well last week i try to log on and i do not get online. so I assume the serve it down, but after 3 days still not connecting. this lead me to investigate. to which i find i have been banned from MW3, Warzone, and MW2. I appealed it, trying to explain the situation withint the 1000 character account but that did not work and now i have no more appeals. I aslo noticed my activision account was connected to a random steam account. i have no idea what steam is, as i am a middle aged man as i have said. activision has not seemed to care.
Oddly enough i went to vent on twitter and to my surprise hundred of bots came trying to get me to pay this account or that account to regain my account back. which im definitely not doing that. I assume that is a hustle for hackers.
My question is, is there anything i can do or anyone i can actually contact outside of the appeal form? LIke an email or someone to actually explain the situation and not rely on AI to make a decision on the status of my long running account? I literally just purchased the 420 cheech and chong bundle too.
I have screen shots and more via my facebook post i made last week about the situation that shows the freidn requests and my appeal band. The other interesting this is i stopped getting activision emails, so i was unaware of the punishment until i researched it.

I have had an account with Boost since 2017. At the time they offered a deal that allowed my family to join where we all got a free phone and unlimited talk text and data. Over the years, most of my family have moved off of it, but there is still myself and my mom on our plan. As I said, I have had this plan for years with put changing it. I enjoy the unlimited data specifically for traveling so I don't have to worry about finding wifi, I work from home so I don't really need it unless I'm traveling. I'm on a trip for my anniversary, and I get a message saying I've almost hit my data limit. I log in and see that I now have a 6 GB limit. I know this has not always been the case. I don't often log in since I have autopay set up, so I'm not sure how long this has actually been like this. I have tried calling support and try to find the data usage from previous travels (like numerous occasions last year), but they apparently switched networks in December and have lost that history, so I don't know a way to prove this has not always been my plan. Customer support says that they have no history of any plan change and this has been the plan I've had for the past 7 years, which I know is not true, I just don't know how to prove it. Does anyone know of a way to be able get the data usage history from a different time? My phone itself doesn't seem to have it, and I don't know if there are any other ways to prove this isn't the deal I've had.
