I’m under the impression that every single AP comp is contested.
Found out later that Syndra was totally open but I’m just dumb. My thinking at this moment was : wait a minute… nobody on Kaisa Bruisers ? The easiest comp to set up if you have econ ? Oh boy, if I can get some AD items and buy some champs on my way to level 8, that could be the easiest win ever. Moving on, I of course bleed the whole stage 3 & 4, trying to make a smart transition, saving champs and entering them when I level up, seeing a bunch of Ashe, Lillia and other Annie on my shops that I don’t purchase because I’m pushing aggressively, getting 9 with a lot of gold thanks to Lategame Specialist picked at 3-2, rolling down in panic part of my 90 golds… ending up with a 1 Galio, 2 Kaisa, 7 Sylas because why not.
I’m less than 10hp, I pray for clutching the fight, I meanwhile find the champs, Sylas 3* because why not, all of them on my bench… only to watch my screen turning grey. I finish 8th, far behind my fellow Mythics enjoyers. Moral : no scout, no pivot, GL HF, /deafen
But this is not the end of the story. I’m off the train, walking to my house, can’t stay on this tragedy. Just have time of one Hyper Roll. Gold Subscription. Starting PVP with Riven 2, Sivir 2, Garen 2* and Zyra 2* on my bench. Kaisa pop up in my shop level 6. Galio follows. Kaisa 2* level 7. The whole fucking comp 2* level 8. Udyr 2* enters level 9. I don’t even know what to put on the board level 10, so another Kaisa 2*. Ended the game with 20hp, perfect win. Too bad it doesn’t give me LP.

I (25F) grew up with not much, raised by migrated grandparents. Lots of financial hardship but grateful to have lived in quiet neighborhoods with good public schools. Even our public housing is nice and I don't feel unsafe walking around because most people mind their business.
Being raised in a migrated household, I was fluent in another language. Here there is a high demand for people who speak my language and also a need for people of my ethnic background to be in a lot of career fields. Some fields I was interested in was nutrition and psychology. I saw the stigma of mental health and the need for educating my people about food & how helpful it is to eat right.
I have an eye condition in one eye so it limits me from things like nursing because they're so fast-paced. I can't (legally) drive either. I could be a rad tech but it's very competitive. Nutrition seemed perfect but they don't pay well until you become an RD which people say is not worth the time and money they sacrificed.
I have two more fields I would be happy to go into and it's accounting or learning software. I've done some coding practice recently. My interest came when I learned how to use a program in 8th grade to make a simple game where I make a ball bounce. Difficult career but I would still be up to learn even if it's really hard. I'm also motivated watching my older cousin make it in the field & he grew up like me.

Wasn't able to find one post that summarized 2nd year ELEC before I did it so I thought I'd make one. This is my personal opinion and an average student's perspective (sometimes even below average lol). 2nd year is a lot of mixed opinions about everything.
You want to have MATH 101, PHYS 158, APSC 160 and MATH 152 completed before starting 2nd year. Standardly you'll be taking 39 credits in the winter session. Although it's very common to take fewer (in fact I'd recommend it) credits.
Term 1 looks like: ELEC 201(4), CPEN 211(5), MATH 253(3), MATH 256(3), CPSC 259(4). Term 2 looks like: ELEC 202(4), ELEC 211&MATH264 (3), ELEC 221(4), ELEC 281(3), ELEC 291(6). You could take MATH 253 in the summer before 2nd year, take ELEC 281 before 2nd year after you've been placed in ELEC or also take it the summer after 2nd year. Utilize your summers to complete as many complimentary studies, free, impact requirement electives as you can. There is an option to take ELEC 291 in the summer after 2nd year as well but I wouldn't recommend that as it's a very time consuming design course and I've heard it's run differently in the summer and isn't as worthwhile in terms of what you learn.
ELEC 201: One of the harder courses in term 1, isn't very time consuming but isn't easy either. First time you'll be giving WebWork exams so the average is low but you'll be fine. Do the homework and attend class. I took it with Alireza Nojeh who was a good prof. Lectures were very organized and he writes and explains everything as he goes which is nice. Isn't scaled or scaled very slightly. Practice the WebWorks and lecture notes and also follow Linares's YouTube channel regardless whether he teaches it or not. Difficulty: 3.75/5.
CPEN 211: Hardest course in term 1 imo. Very time consuming, especially the labs, which would sometimes take entire weekends and eat time out of other courses and aren't even worth 2% each. So find a good lab partner. There's a lot to cover so be up to date. Although the lectures aren't very helpful. I'd suggest keeping up with the slides and making notes and GOING TO ANY TUTORIAL AND LECTURE where he/the TAs solve problems. Took it with Tor who teaches it almost every year. Too much content to be covered in lectures but he is helpful in office hours/after lectures. Do as many problems as you can find and try and understand every concept. Difficulty 4.5/5.
MATH 253: One of the easier courses in 2nd year. In a non-ideal situation can be done in a short time as well. Easier compared to MATH 100 and 101. In math practice is very useful so try and do as many problems be it before the exams or throughout the term. The course is taught online so is easily procrastinated but Professor Leonard and Alexandra Niedden on YouTube are very good resources. Took it with Mark MacLean who is a GOATED math prof. Clear communication from him about what's expected and needs to be done. Difficulty: 2.5/5
MATH 256: Easiest course in 2nd year imo (partially because of the prof). Cannot be done in a short time but is easily followed throughout the term. As usual practice is key. Took it with Neil Balmforth who is also GOATED. He makes the course much easier, the other section didn't have as nice of a time. His midterms and finals were basically identical to the sample midterms and finals. Difficulty: 2/5
CPSC 259: It's a much more theoretical than APSC 160. The only nice parts were the labs because they were coding and not theory. The quizzes and final were mostly theory and on PraireLearn so limited attempts (usually 2) which made the tests very very hard. Took it with Geoffery Tien who usually teaches it. He's a nice guy but okayish at teaching. Very monotonous. I read the textbook and did it's problems which really helped. Difficulty: 3.5/5.
ELEC 202: A hard course but Linares makes you spend so much time on it, it doesn't feel as difficult as the other courses by the end. Another course graded by WebWork so marks aren't easily obtained. Make sure you understand all the WebWorks, TopHat and questions from the slides. Linares imo is one of the best teachers I've had and is very knowledgeable about EE. But his personality takes a lot away from him as a professor. This course will solidify a lot of basics for you, some that you might have overlooked in 201 but they way he runs the course does make it unnecessarily time consuming and challenging. I'd say do take the course with him regardless of the horror stories, you'll be glad you did later on but be ready for having a weird time in this course. And yeah follow his YouTube channel like your life depends on it. Difficulty: 4/5
ELEC211 & MATH264: These 2 are run together as a one 3 credit course ELEC 211(2) and MATH 264(1). I pretty much had to do this course on your own. It isn't very time consuming but the term that it's in and the way it's taught will make it feel challenging. Took it with Carol Jaeger who taught the 211 part and Professor Demirbas who taught the 264 part. I don't mean to be rude but both were basically useless. I don't know if Professor Jaeger tried to teach because I stopped going after a few weeks that's how bad it was. It felt like she was just there because she has to be. For Professor Demirbas the way he teaches was very weird. Read a few nice things about him but didn't have the same experience. He speaks and teaches too fast for anyone to be able to learn anything but that might be because they're making him teach most of a 3 credit course (MATH 317-Calculus IV) as a one credit course in about 6-7 lectures all this along with a theory driven electromagnetics course. I'd recommend watch the last 4-5 lecutures of Professor Leonard's Calc III YouTube playlist right in the beginning of the course. That'll cover the MATH portion. Then follow the math lectures to practice and use that math you learnt to understand the ELEC portion. Wasn't able to find a goof YouTube resource for the ELEC part but just watch a bunch of different videos for each topic I guess. WebWorks are good practice. Difficulty: 4/5 (should've been 3 but the way they run it).
ELEC 221: A hard course depending on your proclivity for mathematics. It's a whole lot of new concepts so it's reasonable it'll be difficult. If the concepts of Fourier Series, Laplace Transforms (also in ELEC 202) and Differential Equations that you learnt in MATH 256 are really clear, that'll help. Took it with Joseph Yan who is a very kind and helpful person, but he just refuses to teach for some reason. He'll ask you to watch 1 or 2 20-30 minute videos before the week and the lectures will basically be a slideshow of previously annotated slides from a few of years ago and him just repeating "any questions?" without really explaining anything. His pre-week videos were helpful but they were only there for the first part of the course. I'd say watch his videos that are there. The examples in his slides are good for theoretical understanding and WebWorks are good practice for exams. Difficulty: 4.25/5
ELEC 281: It's a technical communication course, supposedly like WRDS 150B. Dropped it, taking it in the summer will update this here once I've taken it.
ELEC 291: Probably my favorite course from 2nd year. You actually get a sense of what it might be like being an engineer because this is a project course and you do hands on work. You get to work in teams which is sometimes good and sometimes bad. The only downside is it'll eat up A LOT, sometimes ALL of your time. First of all there are 6 labs that are due weekly which can take anywhere from 1-6 hours, depends on the amount of debugging you need to do. There's 2 projects which are much bigger than the labs. You have to spend a lot of time (can't put hours because I couldn't keep track even if I tried to) on the projects. There's no studying but a whole lot of doing. Professor Fraga is very helpful in the lab. Right course, wrong timing. Difficulty: 5/5 (60% because of the time it takes and 40% because of the actual work).

This student has been out a huge amount of time and now they’re failing their grade. I’ve been asked to watch her work to catch up. Needless to say it’s an open book assignment and she loses focus. I’m there asking her what the assignment is, read the questions, and point her to the passage in the book. She took it from there and answered all questions.

This is not a letter but I need some seconds thoughts on something I'm going through regarding a girl and I think this is the right place to share this:
So I've been in love with a girl for like a few years now and I'm a girl as well. I've always had a strong strong feeling that she also liked me back. It all started in 5th grade when I fell in love with her and I was really sure she liked me too because she just gave me so much attention and just treated me differently. Oh, mind you she's muslim. I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I had all this hope that a girl like her could ever choose me but that comes later. We were doing really well, she always wanted to be close to me and even held my hand and stuff like that which seemed weird to me because mind you I at first didn't want anything to do with her and didn't think anything of it at first. Then slowly I started liking her more and more until end of 5th grade came around and we weren't going to be in one class anymore. I cried like a lot cause it was the first time I had become attached to someone like that. After the holidays things were weird with her like we kept like staring at each other and stuff. It was like you know there's something weird going on and you wanna talk to the other person but you just don't. The next 2 years went by like that with just us observing each other and it was pretty obvious that she somehow had the same reaction to me that I had to her like I can't make that up. Her eyes were on me whenever I walked into a room like in the weird way. That's why I was sure she must like me back like I was catching her staring at me and stuff. So one day I impusively confessed my feelings over whatsapp (I know, bad idea) but I just couldn't face her in person anyway and corona was in the way and I just couldn't take it anymore. She ignored my message and the next day when I asked her again she said she doesn't have feelings for me. Honestly I couldn't believe it but I was like okay, if that's the case then fine (nah I was heartbroken but whatever). Then we go back to school and it's just horrible we kept locking eyes while walking by and again the staring whatever and it was just really weird and painful. We weren't in one class at that time so that was all that was going on. Then in 9th grade I magically ended up in one class with her agaim and that in the end turned out to be my worst nightmare. So while we're in one class she starts acting all weird as if I disgust her. First few months she bursts things out like I love you and just weird things for no reason. I thought a hundred percent it's for me like whut. And the staring thing was still there but I noticed she kept complaining and getting all defensove when I had to have anything to do with her as if I was some parasite. Then months later I find out she'd liked some boy in our class since 5th grade which seemed unbelievable to me and he had just started liking her that year (just my luck right 🤡) This girl was so weird to me and what I couldn't understand was she acted like she hated me but secretly looks at me and immediately gets jealous and curious when it comes to absolutely any boy. So I got quite mean because of her behaviour and I gave her the same energy back cause she hurt me all of the time with her childishness and that's why we had a lot of arguments and I cried a lott, can't say the same about her. In one of these arguments I lied about not having feelings for her because I kept complaining about how shitty she's been treating me and how she can't even sit next to me. Like literally while I was sick she asked to change seats in one school subject just because she had to sit next to me but still has no shame to observe to who's jokes I laugh to and who I like. Like everytime I laughed to this one boy's jokes she's stare at me all shocked and once she literally whispered to herself: that's it, JUST BECAUSE She thought I could like this boy. Like in my head that's crazy. She did lots of other stuff to hurt me like as I said she was mean to me all the time and acted annoyed and then blamed me and said I was treating her like an "animal". Yeah right, I was just expressing how hurt I was by her actions. And while she was with him she kept staring at me and stuff, like just the weirdest things which make you want to bang your head into the wall to understand. And she kept whispering to herself once how she "won't make it" while literally LOOKING AT ME and I still don't know what to make of that. Uhm, I was hurt and in the summer holidays I acted impulsively AGAIN. A good friend of mine had noticed how I might have feelings for her and kinds pressured me so I told her and told her exactly what I'm telling you right here (such a good friend, I love her, still complain to her about everything right now even and she listens to me). And she herself was like no way, she told me she loved that boy since 5th grade and stuff and I was like YEAH I'm still confused. So the thing is before that conversation she and everyone else around me was like why are you like this to her and what has she done to you and stuff and my friends mindset immediately changed after I had told her how she'd been treating me. I told her about the absolutely not normal reactions for a person who doesn't have feelings and she agreed that that's not normal. So the holidays went by I was determined to just let her go and let her be with that boy (they aren't together but they're pretty close and it hurts me but whatever). I thought I could you know start again and just survive the year without interacting with her but OH WAS I SO SO WRONG. So my friend started also being friends with her in the same year and they had access to each others phones which I to this day find uhm really not good. So this girl noticed how close I was wirh my friend and decided to PEEK At her phone a FEW TIMES So she basically read all I had told my friend. Then one random day I get pulled out by her with my friend and a about 3 of her friends. Right there and then I find out that they know as well. I GOT LECTURED OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSROOM with her telling me how I'd made it all up in my head and how this and that never happened WHEN I LITERALLY SAW IT WITH MY OWN EYES. All that she did I say and she says she doesn't remember anything. I remained silent because wtf am I supposed to do I was shocked and so traumatized and hurt I couldn't say a word but I told her about some things that she did to hurt me and she says she didn't remember doing any of them. That was that then I told her to stop doing what made me feel bad. I literally told her to stop. I said stop. SHE DIDN'T EVEN APOLOGIZE PROPERLY And said she didn't care who I liked which is a flat out lie like seriously that's not possible. Yeah right that's why you kept getting aggressive and staring at me all shocked and talking to yourself just because i laughed at somebody else's joke or I got hugged or touched. Literally just crazy. Then I let myself her filled with hate for her and question my own fucking reality. So about her friends knowing: allegedly one friend of hers looked into her phone and saw the argument about me not having feelings for her anymore. Then shit got around and her other friend found out. I DON'T CARE IF IT WAS NOT ON PURPOSE. And I even let thst slide but what I found out later just finished me. So days go by and I thought finally I know the truth, I can try and live without this battle in my head everyday trying to understand her. And I thought she'd finally stop but she just didn't. She started singing shit around me like how she can't go on without me and how she wants me to stay by her side. Like literally singing song lyrics to a love song called Sonnenbank by Yakary (german song, you can look up the refrain on google) loudly for me to hear and looks at me while singing it when that boy isn't around and you can tell it's on purpose. Not only that, like trying to play me again but also just saying things to hurt me. Acting like she doesn't remember my birthday when our birthdays are 4 days apart and laughing my face while with that boy and staring at me while with him. Okay I must say sometimes she looked miserable around him and like she's crying but that's not the point. The point is she doesn't respect my boundaries and gives me false hope to hold onto. Saying things like how someone wants to actually be with someone else but can't. It's always can't or isn't allowed to. This had continued for the next 2 months and now it's just ignoring cause I refuse to look at her and refuse to look at her when she talks. And she's with him now (not together). Oh I forgot to mention she used to say things to get my attention regarding him and then says how she thought I would be sad WHILE she literally stares at me all shocked because I could like someone else. Like that makes no sense in my head how you can mess with someone like that and then deny it and then even continue to do it. So a few weeks ago I talked to her other male friend and find out she had told the boy group and him especially that I liked her BEFORE anything went down and it wasn't like anyone was suspicious or something he told me she 💫just said it 💫 (he told me no one cared) but she literally outed me for no fucking reason and because of her stupid friends a few girl of the other class also know and I'm being called a lesbian (nicely tho and how they don't have anything against me) but I'm not even a lesbian I still like boys but I just fell in love with this girl and it's just so painful. She had betrayed me before anything had even gone down yet and while I thought to myself at least I could trust her to keep my secret cause she wasn't such a person before. And her male friend told me to not hope for an apology cause it's obvious that she doesn't feel bad. She literally manipulated me, betrayed me, lied to me and played me at the same time. I know I have to move on and I will, I just need to survive these last two months and then we'll not be in one class anymore (11th grade) but we'll somehow still have class with each other somehow and now she acts all nice in my face and says to my friend how we're "chill" now just because I keep my mouth shut when I could literally call her out but like for what when in the end I'll be the crazy one again. MY REBUTTAL TO THE OBLIGATORY “IS THIS A SCAM?” QUESTION:
At the risk of sounding arrogant, I consider myself to be at least marginally more intelligent (both academically & socially) than the average person. Therefore, if I ever decided to suddenly risk prison time, risk my reputation, and risk enduring the wrath of modern-day “cancel culture” by scamming people out of their money:

• I certainly wouldn’t do it for such paltry amounts of money. (i.e., anything less than $1,000 per victim.)
• I certainly wouldn’t choose high school & college students as my “target audience” to scam, considering that most people without college degrees have abysmally low annual incomes. Why choose low-income victims when it would be much more profitable to target high-income, high-net-worth individuals earning at least six figures a year? I have knowledge in business consulting, and I promise you that a business owner would be a MUCH more lucrative mark than a low-income college student.
• I wouldn’t choose such a time & energy-draining method of scamming people. Also, communicating back and forth with potential clients is an absurdly long time sink since only less than 10% of all potential clients who reach out to me actually become paying clients of mine. This means that 90% of my time communicating with potential clients ultimately proves to be a colossal waste of my irretrievable time & energy.
• If you pay me to provide academic services and I don’t deliver, you can always dispute the payment with the payment app and easily get your money refunded. Background info: When I was growing up, I was painfully shy around girls and was always super respectful (probably because my mom was domineering in my family), which led to me missing out on a lot of fun and “action.” I was a cute kid and I knew the popular girls liked me when I was a kid/tween (10-13 years old), but my parents didn’t like fashion at the time so I became uncool by the time I was in 8th grade/high school and thus undesirable to the girls I liked.
As that realization crept in, I became extremely depressed starting around sophomore year of high school all the way to college graduation due to missing out on basically everything. No date for prom. Barely partied in college and always the wallflower. Didn’t tailgate for college football. Didn’t even attend my college graduation ceremony (decided to move out and start my IT job right after finals). My confidence was shattered and I always relied on those rare instances when the pretty girls I crushed on and liked me when I was a kid gave me the time of the day, which happened off and on.
I was an extreme late bloomer to the dating scene and didn’t lose my virginity until a year after college (a meaningless hookup that I thought of as “practice” with a girl I didn’t particularly like). After I made a concreted effort to improve myself (workout, wear contact lenses, new clothes, ears pierced, tanning, strong cologne), I began frequenting bars because I didn’t find any of my female colleagues attractive (I’m an IT engineer, which might explain why). This was how I managed to get my first official “girlfriend” when I was like 25/26. She was 22 (about to graduate) and waitressing at this bar near her campus. We were together for 3+ years but broke up recently. She was exactly the kind of girl I wanted but thought was unattainable growing up: high school cheerleader, kappa sorority girl, blonde, tanned. Obviously, I embellished a lot of my past and pretended I was way cooler than I actually was in my schooldays because I was terrified she was dump me or worse, feel sorry for me.
But anyway, I’ve noticed I’ve become the exact opposite of my schooldays and the kind of guy I never wanted to be in high school: I openly stare/leer at girls I find hot, my eyes full of desire, even tho I know they probably would never date or even sleep with me (some are in college and might find me too old).
I shamelessly and openly flirt with waitresses and try to get their number or Instagram (I’ve slept with a couple of waitresses that way, but my success rate is low. Doesn’t deter me). I frequent hooters by myself (both my local one and whenever I travel for work) and both flirt and stare. Sometimes, I would send unsolicited flowers to a waitress to her restaurant the day after meeting her.
When I’m at the mall, I make obvious eye contact with girls I like and smile at them, sometimes even wink.
I follow Instagram influencers and not only like all their pics, but leave cringe comments and even slide into their DM (including my current celeb crush: Sydney Sweeney).
I hit on interns who work at the same building as me while waiting for the elevator.
Basically I’ve become quite shameless in my approach and stopped caring about what my “crushes” think of me. Is this just part of growing up and finally being secured/confident in myself and caring less about other peoples opinion? Or is this bad?
P.S. I’ve never used any dating apps because of the stigma of online dating from my 2000s youth and part of me always stubbornly think it’s beneath me. I also think the girls I would match with on apps wouldn’t be my type.
