Ever since I built my computer 4 years ago I've been having the most randomly crashing issues and I have no idea why that is. There is no BSOD. When the crash happens, all my monitors go black for about 10 seconds, and the computer automatically boots back up. During boot-up, it doesn't say anything about overheating or anything at all, it just boots to the desktop like nothing happened.
Event Viewer doesn't seem to help much. Gives a generic critical error that I cannot seem to diagnose. It seems that every time before it crashes, 5 seconds before, it reports this error and the reason I'm confused is that this crash generally only happens every 2-3 weeks when I'm playing a game.
My most recent crash was while playing Satisfactory, but it's crashed while playing Helldivers 2 also.

All parts were bought brand new from either Best Buy or Newegg.
It's slightly hot in my apartment at the moment so idle temps range from 55-65 on my GPU but rarely peaks above 80 while gaming. Hotspot is my only concern, with it hitting upwards of 95, though I'm not entirely sure this is a huge issue or not
CPU idles at little higher at 60-65 but also rarely peaks above 85 while gaming.
All storage devices never exceed 65.

Gojek Kejadian ini terjadi pasca tahun 2021-an (kalo ga salah). Ceritanya, Sahabat jauh dari solo pulang ke sentul dan aku main sama beliau sambil ngobrol bareng kondisi-nya disana. Kami bercengkrama sampai dengan jam 8 malam, dan aku memutuskan untuk pulang (karena nyokap udah nyariin). Aku akhirnya dianterin pulang dengan mobil nyokap sahabatku yang kebetulan lagi satu jalan dari AEON. tapi, aku denger kabar kata-nya bokap-nya temen tiba-tiba sakit dan Nyokap-nya perlu beli obat. Aku nawarin untuk nemenin beli obat + nunjukin apotik terdekat, tapi akhirnya aku cukup minta diberhentiin aja di Lampu merah dekat CCM. Karena aku takut-nya mengganggu juga + takut pulang kemaleman. Cukup ucapan semoga cepat sembuh, dan akhirnya pergi ke kantor polisi perempatan CCM buat pesan Gojek.
Jujur, aku kaget ketika yang dateng ketika pesen Gojek yang dateng adalah perempuan. Aku ga permasalahin kamu kerja jadi apa... tapi dengan kondisi malem seperti ini dan beliau berani narik Gojek? oh my. That's a daring move and deserve my respect. Tapi pas aku mau naik, beliau bilang.. ini baru pertama kali dia ambil pesanan malem-malem dan kebetulan aga capek (kalo ga salah inget). Aku tawarin untuk ngendarain motornya (it was a scoopy. its has good handling but slow as snail speed. but it has good fuel economy. hehe, maaf terlalu mendiskripsikan motornya).
Kami ngobrol di jalan dong... tanya-tanya abis ngapain dan ini itu. Sampai aku nanya ke beliau "Ibu kenapa mau kerja jadi Go-Jek?". Beliau dengan lumayan santai-nya bilang something along like "Karena ada-nya ini pada saat ini, dan saya harus membiayain kedua anak saya". Aku sambil mengucapkan maaf nanya kepada beliau "Maaf bu, saya kalo boleh nanya.. Suami ibu apakah tidak kerja?". Beliau bilang "Suami saya kabur". That bring a chill on my spine... karena ini ngobrol secara langsung. Beliau bela-belain Nganter barang sampai malam, dan bahkan nyoba nge-gojek. it's somewhat shows how mother figure should always be. She wants nothing but her kids to become succeed and didnt end up like her.
And today 2024, i share her story to here... it shows that maybe even at the very rock bottom, you cannot see down but only up. and you need to keep on going whatever your situation is.

Nah, ini sebenarnya kejadian yag masih baru-baru banget. Cerita-nya ini abis ngampus.. Karena lagi kepengen makan eskrim, pergilah aku ke Miksu deket Sate Tegal Laka-laka yang ada di cibinong. Kebetulan disitu ada tukang parkir (yang kebetulan sering ketemuan dan dia ramah).. ngobrol lah aku sama beliau. But then, i ask him... "Tapi pak, dengan pemikiran dan wawasan yang luas. Kenapa bapak jadi tukang parkir?" He said ketika beliau di pelabuhan tanjung priuk, dulunya dia kerja sebagai pengangkut barang dan disukai sama bos-nya karena etos kerja-nya yang tinggi (Sambil nunjukin kertas kerja-nya, dan dokumen penting lainnya ketika kerja di pelabuhan tanjung priuk. I was surprised how did he trust me to the point to show me this). He got paid handsomely, dan dia kerja dari pagi ke pagi. Sampai ketika orang dalam plays along dan kompetisi yang ga sehat mulai masuk. Dia suka disenggol dan begitu sebagai-nya... dan bahkan sudah berfikir kalo sebagai pengangkut barang udah bukan passion dia lagi (karena terkadang dia mesti berantem pas ngangkut barang di jalan entah sama pungli, dll).
Dan dimasa dimana dia udah kepala 5 atau 6 ini (kalo ga salah). Dia hanya ingin meninggal dengan tenang aja. Dia bilang sama aku "Keinginan muda dan tau pasti berbeda. Semakin kamu tua, kamu semakin belajar kalo dalam hidup itu ga semuanya bisa kamu dapatkan. tapi kamu ga boleh nyerah, dan harus tekun".

SEX

I have a 2000 Yamaha 100 HP four stroke outboard. I’ve done a lot of work to it since I bought it and I finally got it running good on the trailer. The tail seems a little bit weak though. On other outboards that I’ve seen water comes out very fast. On this motor water comes out, but it’s just not the fast stream that I’m used to.
Also, after a minute or two of idling the water coming from the telltale is about 100° which I wouldn’t expect to be that hot for not being underload and only running for a little bit.
Is this because I’m running it on muffs and not in the water? Or is there another reason this could be the case?
I don’t think it’s the water pump because the guy I bought it from said that it was replaced, but he could have been lying or it could’ve been installed incorrectly

With all the new players entering the game as of late, a lot of the same questions get asked - specifically, ones like "How can I make the perfect team for classic/endless/etc.?". The guide ahead is an attempt at answering more common questions on the former end, from the perspective of someone who almost exclusively plays Classic and many wins under my belt in doing so. Community feedback welcome; hopefully something like this can expand into something like a wiki/full guide so we can help new players down the line, too!
Classic and You: Starting Out
So you just picked up the game, but not sure where to start. "Which starters are best?" "What team should I go with first?" "I unlocked [x] - can I beat Classic with this?"
Let me reassure you: you can beat Classic with anything. (Yes, even something like Caterpie.)
That said, it's understandable to not know where to start, especially if you don't know all the starters, or maybe haven't played all the various generations of Pokemon through the years. Many of them have their own strengths and weaknesses, and some are built stronger than others. For example: Fuecoco is commonly the #1 recommended starter out of the base selection you get when first starting the game. Why? His final evolution, Skeledirge, naturally learns Torch Song, which is a hard-hitting fire move that guarantees a Sp. Attack buff each time it hits. This lets you snowball fairly quickly, as each attack makes you stronger and stronger during battles. Many starters have "specialty" tricks like this that give them an edge - Sprigatito's final evolution, for instance, gets Flower Trick, a hard-hitting grass move that always crits (and therefore always ignores opponent defensive boosts and/or your own negative debuffs). Even with all these being the case, though, there's no "perfect" team to start with that will guarantee a win - and in fact, getting a win on your first run can be exceedingly difficult. Your starters all only have 10 IVs, neutral natures, and no egg moves - they're the bare bones minimum to get going. And that's okay. But it means you need to temper your expectations.
Pokerogue is a rogue-like - and in classic rogue-like form, you build upon what you start with little by little. Your primary goal shouldn't be to get a Classic win at the start. It's certainly doable, but even if you win, you're still likely without any reliable starter to take on Endless just yet, so there's no sense in rushing there. Instead, focus on that concept of building - specifically, building your starter pool. Every time you catch something, you unlock it as a starter (if you don't have it yet). You also get candies, which can be used to power up those starters by either unlocking a passive ability (unlocking additional features) or reducing their point cost, letting you bring more starters to each run (or more powerful ones!). Catching things with higher IVs also make your starting stats better - catching a 31 Speed IV Pidgey, for instance, means your Pidgey starter now permanently has 31 Speed IVs. More stats = more power, and getting higher IVs on your starters is probably the biggest early jump you can get on pushing your team further.
With this in mind, making a "perfect" team is less important than just making A team, so that we can go out and catch some things. As for what to catch, though, here's a list of things I'd keep an eye out for:

• Anything with a missing and/or "dark" pokeball under their name. Just like in some of the main Pokemon games, Pokemon in Pokerogue will be marked with a pokeball if they've been captured before. If it's missing, and you want it as a starter, catch it! More importantly, though, is the "darkened" icon of the pokeball - this indicates that you've unlocked the starter, but this one has something you don't have yet; maybe a gender, or maybe an ability you don't have yet. For instance, a Meowth starter that you have may only have Pickup, but the one in battle before you now has Technician. Catching these "darkened ball" pokemon will unlock more options for your starters, letting you switch between these unlockables at the pokemon select screen when you start your later runs. I generally recommend catching as many of these as possible - in the beginning, it'll seem like every pokemon has a dark ball, but that's because you don't have many things unlocked yet. As you unlock more things, they'll get rarer - and more importantly, when you start looking for those elusive Hidden Abilities (HAs), these darkened balls will help you discover them more easily when you have everything else already unlocked. Remember, this is a rogue-like - we're building our starters here for future runs!
• Anything "rare". This is somewhat subjective, because "rare" can mean anything from "hard to find" to "legendary". In general, though, I recommend keeping an eye out for things you don't see often - starters, for instance, or legendary/pseudo-legendary/ultra beast/etc. "boss" monsters at the end of every 10 waves. But catching duplicates serves a secondary purpose - remember, it also gets you candies, which you can use to power up those rare pokemon starters you have later. Getting candies from friendship is certainly doable, but especially for rarelegendary pokemon, this can take a loooooong while. Catch them if you can to make it easier on yourself later.
• Anything you plan on using a lot. Somewhat of another sub-point of the above, catching duplicates of things you know you'll use often can be useful for candy collection. Specifically, this works well for things you know you'll use often - your first few shinies, for instance, or general-use pokemon that have Pickup. Build your Zigzagoon army! Candy collecting is especially useful for these to reduce costs, letting you take more of them with your legendary into Endless mode when you get to that point.
• Any shiny. This goes without saying for many, but shinies are the lifeblood of Pokerogue. You need them...a lot of them. They come in three flavors - starting from the weakest, a yellow shiny (Luck 1), then blue (Luck 2), and finally red (Luck 3), with the color being the "star" marker of the shiny pokemon on their HP bar. Eventually you'll want as many Luck 3 shinies as you can get your hands on, but when you're starting out, you're building from 0 - so catch any you see, even if it means failing your Classic run to do so. A new run takes an hour to start back up; a new shiny could take days or even weeks to find in Classic. (Ideally, though, don't be afraid to refresh/"save scum" to try and find a way to catch it without sacrificing your run if you can, and if you're willing. No sense in wasting all that work.)
• Don't neglect your team. Remember, our eventual goal is to win Classic...but more importantly, we're hoping to get as far as we can, and 190 if possible. The sprint from 180-190 is the most profitable floor in Classic for egg vouchers, with each Elite 4 member & the Champion at 190 giving them upon victory (Plus, first time wins get you bonus achievement vouchers too - two for one!). With this in mind, you want to make sure to balance your team out as you go, and don't neglect it as you progress. Perhaps your team needs a good rock-type wall to throw in the way of hard-hitting trainer pokemon. Maybe you're looking for a Ground-type to soak all those electric moves you keep running into in the electrical biomes. Good team building will carry you further than any IV or egg move ever could. Even the strongest legendaries can fold to a weakness.

This "starting out" phase doesn't have a specific length of time to get past - everyone progresses at their own pace, and some will get luckier with egg pulls and catches than others. Don't get discouraged. Just keep building on what you have - that's your initial goal, and it only gets easier as you do it.
As you start going through your Classic runs, the main resource you're looking to accumulate at first is egg vouchers - as many as you can get your grubby little new player hands on. Beating gym leaders, Elite 4 members, the Champion, and beating Classic all reward you with them. Doing the Daily Run each day also rewards you with a 10x pull voucher. Rarely, they can even show up after beating a stage in the item choice rewards - if so, pick them, usually over most anything else. Eggs build on your starters, and usually with either massively boosted IVs or egg moves to give them considerable bumps in power. Rarely, you can even get shinies from them.
And speaking of the egg gacha: only pull from the Shiny gacha at first. The entirety of your goal as a new player should be accumulating shinies. The legendary gacha is misleading - you only get increased odds for the shown legendary, not all of them (at least as of this post), and even then legendaries often have a huge starter cost tacked onto them, making teambuilding difficult early on. Once you build up your starter collection with a good few handfuls of shinies, and are cruising along in Endless vacuuming up vouchers, you can spend some on the other gachas for specific niches if you like (move gacha for egg moves, legendary gacha for legendaries), but for the most part the shiny gacha is where the money's at. Besides, the shiny gacha can hatch legendaries, too - so you're not missing out on legendaries by not hitting its specific gacha.
I Got a Few Shinies And Legendaries - What Now?
Alright, so you've been cruising along, catching everything you see and building your starter pool like the rockstar rogue-like player you are. Keep building from here, but now you have more options - you can start bringing shinies on your Classic runs to improve the quality of item rewards you get at the end of each floor; you can maybe even bring a legendary/ultra beast along to have an easier time against the end boss and get that first win. At this point, if you haven't gotten that first win yet, now's the time to start knuckling down and making a serious go at it. Some general points of advice for Classic success I haven't yet covered:

• Early on, focus on 1-2 pokemon. Ignore the rest. Same advice as in Endless works here. This perhaps sounds counter-intuitive, but until at least floor 30-40, try your absolute hardest to only focus on leading with 1-2 pokemon (and that second one should ideally only be necessary to cover the weaknesses of the first). Your immediate early-game hurdles are the two rival battles at floors 8 and 25 (and maybe a Gym Leader battle at 20), and if you try to level everyone evenly you're going to find it harder to win. The Exp All and Exp Charms you get from rival battles and item rewards will more than catch your team up later even if you don't ever use them...so don't worry about them for now. Right now, you're creating the Ultimate Early Game Juggernaut(s) to get you through the initial hurdles.
• Be frugal with your money in the beginning. In Endless, it's common practice to reroll often to look for specific items - candy jars, rare candies, etc. That's because in that mode, once you get set up you have almost unlimited income. In Classic, your income is much more limited (usually hovering ~$100k or so by the mid to late floors), and you don't have the luxury of blindly rerolling for optimal results. The option to "save scum" your re-rolls exists, if you were willing - after winning a floor, check the rerolls, and if you don't like any of the offerings, refresh the page. This will "start the floor over", resetting the rewards and refunding your money. This isn't really necessary, though; in fact, I rarely reroll rewards at all until floors 180-200, and often settle with generic healing/item rewards. Why? You'll notice through your runs that in the midgame (floors 50-150, mainly), you'll accumulate quite a bit of gold; instead of using this gold for rerolls then, where it doesn't help much, you should instead wait for the later floors where you start to take on the toughest opponents of the run - the Elite 4 and Champion on floors 180-190, the final rival battle at 195, and the final boss at 200. Specifically, 180-190 is where you'll buy more healing items than perhaps the rest of the run combined (to keep your team healthy in between each Elite 4/Champion battle), and 190-200 are where you really want to look for things like X [stat] items to give your team that extra "oomph". Even the strongest legendaries fear a Butterfree packing +4 X Specials and an X Speed. Money saved early on lets you dump it into rerolls later where it matters most. (Don't ruin your run by being *too* frugal, though - if your party is near death early on, spend it. You can't spend it later on if you're dead.)
• Pickup is NOT necessary (but it is helpful). I see a lot of general advice in posts on pokerogue that tell new players to stack Pickup team members on Classic. This isn't necessary, or even arguably desirable past maybe the first 20-30 floors unless you're running a very strong carry that can solo all 200 floors (which is extremely unlikely, and far more difficult to boot). I've won Classic many times without using Pickup at all, and I can't say as I miss it when I don't have it. More importantly, you need to be cautious which items you're picking up - the end boss can and WILL use them against you, so things like Sitrus/Enigma/stat boosting berries that you picked up along your 200 floors suddenly seem a lot less useful when they're in enemy hands. That said, if you bring someone along with Pickup, be generous with handing out berries and other items to your party regularly using the "Transfer" option, so you can reap the benefits all throughout your 200 floors. Sitrus, Enigma, and the speed/attack boosting berries in particular are great in trainerival battles where you expect to take hits and want to revenge kill things. In the endgame against the final boss, though, perhaps load everything on a party member you hope never to bring out (such as your Pickup mon) so they don't get stolen. (Hot take: I prefer to use no berries at all in my Classic runs if possible, with one exception: Lum! Lum is amazing for healing status effects, especially when it feels like some trainers have all the hacks against you, and it doesn't feel bad if/when it gets stolen later.)
• The same goes for Pokerus. The biggest advantage to having pokerus is capping out your levels faster; even without it, in the later floors you'll still cap your levels by each final stage so long as you pick up a charm or two along the way (which you'll usually do, pokerus or not). It's also a decent help for that floor 11-25 range where you're at your weakest and that second rival challenge comes knocking. In Endless it's common practice to take a pokerus pokemon so your carry can keep up with the level gains of the floors until you get fully set up; in Classic, the scaling doesn't feel nearly that punishing. If you can bring a good pokerus pokemon, though, it's more helpful than not - just don't go out of your way for it or feel like it's "necessary".
• Understand how biomes work, at least somewhat. Many of them chain into each other naturally, which is part of where the memes come from regarding "endless water biomes" or similar. As you start to expand your starting 2-3 into a full 6, know what biomes you need to look for and what to avoid. This is part of why the Map is one of my favorite item rewards to pick early on - it lets you target farm the remaining members of your team much easier, and towards the last 50-80 floors you can choose the easier ones to coast through while you finish building your team. In particular, routes you need to keep in mind:
  • You always start in "Town" and move into "Plains"; this is 100% guaranteed in every Classic run. This means the first 20 floors are always weighted heavily to normal- and grass-types. When building your starting team, it's helpful to keep this in mind - for instance, picking up things strong against these two types (shoutout to Flamigo/Hawlucha!) and maybe not bringing a grass type knowing that you're likely to catch one early on if you're desperate for filler.
  • "Metropolis" vs. "Lake" vs. "Grass": Moving out of Plains, these are your three options available if you have the Map by now. The biome you leave Plains for is the biggest observation you can make for your run - it will dictate how you form the rest of your team as you progress into the midgame. If you get diverted to Lake, but need an Electric-type (for instance), you need to find a way to get the map to divert to "Construction Site" or loop back to Plains, or you may be hard pressed to find an Electric-type at all in your entire run. The same goes for Fairy- and Steel-types - "Fairy Cave", the biome with the largest quantity of fairy types, is only accessible through "Meadows", which requires you to go through the forest biomes first. If you're not looking like you're going through those areas, you'll need to be less picky about what fairy-types you come across if you hope to snag one. (I recommend visiting the wiki for their nice little flowchart diagram if you ever want a more nuanced look into each path and where they can potentially lead, along with what spawns in each.)
• Build a well-rounded team. Building mono-type teams is cute, but ultimately extra work. Focus on coverage and being able to handle anything that comes along - remember, the last floors feature a variety of Elite 4 members and the Champion, all of which will require a varied approach on what types of Pokemon to bring for best results. By floor 100, you should either have most of your team set or a plan to fill the rest out by the time you reach ~170. By 180 it's likely too late (with the exception of maybe getting a last Mushroom or TM to fill out a moveset).

So for years now, my PC (Hp Omen 30 L) has been randomly shutting down every couple of days or so, but lately, ever since i started playing a certain game (escape from tarkov: arena) it shuts off almost every time i launch the game for the first time. Yesterday it happened as i launched the game after my computer had just been off for hours, so couldnt have been overheating, and i can play games for hours sometimes, then load up tarkov and the pc immediately shuts off. I checked event viewer the past few times its happened and Event Viewer reads:

I habe this laptop that i let run out of battery while watching a movie. I charged it overnight with a apple charger that came with a mac book pro. In the morning i saw the fully charged white light i unplugged it. Hours later i went to grab it and nothing happened no lights ever turned on it wont turn on. I dont know if those details are relevant. Its it worth getting it fixed or do i just get a new one.
The only problems i had before was battery life but i only used it for streaming movies at full-brightness. The fan made loud noise and got hot. But when i opened it the fan was clean.

I'm curious what everyone's thoughts are on radiator guards and the cost/benefit analysis specifically when considering reduced cooling performance when wading through traffic in Texas summers (90-100+ degrees F).
Everyone warns about stones hitting the radiator and causing a leak, but it does feel a little echo-chambery because the majority of folks don't seem to have first hand experience. And a lot of that group also seems to be from cooler climates where excess heat is of no concern. But of course I have also found examples online of stones hitting radiators and causing leaks so I understand the risk is nonzero.
Would love the take of some fellow hot weather riders.
Radiator guard backstory:
My first 40ish-hp bike I did not have a guard and had no issue over 20k miles. My second 115-hp bike I did get one because I went a little accessory-happy and everyone told me a stone would definitely break the radiator. But I also felt like the fan was working overtime to keep temps in check during those hot summer days. Now I've got a spicy 200hp IL4 that can get pretty toasty as it is, but the radiators have a large surface area ripe for rocks, so I'm trying to make a decision. I've got roadside and buying a replacement rad wouldn't be world-ending.

Those able of body and brave of heart are invited to the mansion of Lady Jamandi Aldori, Swordlord & Chief Defender of Restov, to embark on an expedition into the Stolen Lands.
Bandits and monsters have been allowed to infest our southern borders for far too long. Those selected will be divided into groups and given a charter to reopen old trade routes and secure the surrounding territory. The brave-hearted mercenaries and adventurers who choose to take on this quest will face unimaginable danger, but whomever succeeds shall receive honor, glory, and a noble title granting dominion over the lands they've claimed to pass on their children.

For generations, the Stolen Lands have spanned the southern border of Brevoy. Many attempts have been made to settle them, but to date, none have succeeded, making these 35,000 square miles of wilderness the largest swath of unclaimed land in the entire region. As tensions mount in Brevoy, one ambitious swordlord hopes to change that fact.
Lady Jamandi Aldori is issuing charters to several groups of adventurers, sending them south into the Stolen Lands to reopen old trade routes and defeat the bandits and monsters who have made them too dangerous to use. By sending free agents south, this swordlord of Rostland hopes to alter the political balance of power in Brevoy without sacrificing her own position or forces. Yet, as with most complex and brilliant plans, the future holds plenty of opportunities for disaster.

Hello! I'm a longtime DM and a huge fan of A Song of Ice & Fire. I'm looking to run a campaign that's heavily influenced by the series I hold so dear. If you're a casual fan who's only seen Game of Thrones or House or the Dragon, you're more than welcome! The main things I'm looking for here are quality roleplay and enthusiasm. If you've got that, I promise we can have a good game together.

"Winter is coming."

Kingmaker is an Adventure Path originally designed by Paizo for the Pathfinder RPG but has been converted to be compatible with the 5th edition D&D ruleset. I'm taking so serious liberties with it but the bones of the adventure remain the same. Kingmaker is a high fantasy campaign that thrusts the player characters into a unique situation of building their own kingdom and carving out their own niche upon the world. You may be a scion of a lesser branch of the great families with ambitions that can't be hindered by your place in the succession. You could be a commoner whose witnessed your humble community suffer at the hands of the lawless bandits pillaging the countryside and will take on this great challenge so your family can live free. Perhaps you are a bastard child of a powerful figure and now seek to carve out your own kingdom knowing that you stand to inherit nothing you don't build for yourself.

"When the snows fall and the white winds blow, the lone wolf dies but the pack survives."

I've got a couple of expectations for the characters that will be brought into the adventure. I am looking for characters with reasons to have a desire to venture into hostile territory and work as a team to build a kingdom. Good or evil doesn't matter but chaos doesn't serve to further the group. So, no chaotic alignment will be allowed. This is not the campaign for chaotic evil players looking to betray the other players, loners or free-spirited vagabonds.

"Backstabbing doesn't prepare you for a fight, and that's all the realm is now. Backstabbing and scheming and arse-licking and money-grubbing."

Political intrigue is a pillar of the series inspiring this and a big part of my plans, but in order to keep charisma from being everyone's primary stat I will be using a reputation system to even the playing field when dealing with individuals of consequence. In certain circles, a knight renowned for their honor and bravery is going to be as respected and influential, if not more, as a traditional face will be anywhere else. I think this will do a lot to allow the party to have a proper balance of classes with no one feeling handicapped in the social aspects.

"Let me give you some counsel, bastard. Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you."

You may have noticed the tag, and the catch is: This is an adult only game, featuring erotic roleplay where characters can engage in sexual activities with no fade-to-black, etc. Lewd events, plans, consequences, and more are all on the table in this campaign. If you've watched either of the shows on HBO, this probably isn't much of a surprise to you. I'd like to be clear that just because it's on the table, this game will not become a raunchy, never ending orgy. There is usually meaning behind how sex is used in the series and that's what I'm looking to emulate.

"Distrusting me was the wisest thing you've done since you climbed off your horse."

GRRM often uses the intimate scenes to peel back layers to a character. Sometimes to paint them in a different light, other times to drive them further into the role he wishes to present them to the reader in. Some examples would be Tyrion's lingering trauma and emotional vulnerability, driving him to purchase the closest thing he believes he can have to real love being a way to earn Tyrion the reader's sympathy. Contrast that with Cersei's narcissism making her seek lovers, she can view as idealized male versions of herself, the only match worthy in her deranged mind. Or how Littlefinger justifies his pitiless ambition, being something forced on him by a cruel and unfair world that's kept him and his one true love apart by no fault of their own.

"Love is the death of duty."

PCs are encouraged to find and nurture romantic relationships with other characters or NPCs. Weddings are considered the truest way of sealing alliances, after all. Beyond the love lives of the characters, there are many other scenarios. A corrupt noble might be willing to trade information to carry on an affair on their spouse. A sex scandal could undermine the legitimacy of a claimant in a contested succession. Barbarian raiders may attack a village under your protection and take the women as slaves. Spies might attempt to seduce you in order to secure a position in your court and feed information to a rival house. A neighboring tyrant might earn your ire when reports of him abusing his authority to take advantage of an unfortunate captive or innocent reaches you.

"The things I do for love."

Because I'm sure it needs to be said. ERP will not be my main focus while running this; it may or may not even happen on my end. I'll already be responsible for the story, so trying to match everyone's taste in smut on top of that might be biting off more than I can chew. That being said, I'm all for your characters sharing a tent during the long weeks of adventuring because I think a good amount of sexual tension adds player investment and fun to the story. While I'm not promising anything, I'm not firmly ruling things out on my end either. You all could charm your way into a few NPC's pants to loosen a secret from their lips or secure a favor down the road. You might decide to blow your coins on prostitutes while visiting the capital. If the scene serves the story (or I'm just feeling horny that day), I may indulge you! Just wanted to make sure you're aware that just because I am open to ERP does not mean I'm making a commitment to provide it to everyone, expecting all players to take part in it, or putting it ahead of the actual campaign in any capacity.

If it's not apparent by now, I'm very serious about making this game something great. I love the ASOIAF books; I love the adventure path; I love the cRPG, and I desperately want to do justice by all three influences. Expect a bit of gritty realism and tragedy in this story. Your triumphs will be hard fought. Your holdings will face constant peril. Your enemies will always be lurking with their knives out for the moment you drop your guard. However, the rewards for your success in this campaign are unlike any other. I truly don't think there is another adventure that matches the sense of accomplishment that comes from taking a stretch of hostile wilderness and carving your own thriving kingdom from it.

A little bit on my approach to DMing this. I plan on running this very differently from traditional D&D 5e. Combat is obviously what the system does the most of, but if you've ever watched GoT or HotD you'd see the main characters don't draw their swords all that often. In fact, a lot of the main cast never have their own fight scenes. I like this less is more approach a great deal and think it'll bring a lot to the pbp experience. Outside of encounters with a named enemy, I won't be using initiative. This is so the RP isn't held up by any individual's schedule. I'll also be utilizing the minion rule from 4e where all the monsters have 1 HP. Their AC remains the same, so if you have trouble hitting them, the danger remains but low damage rolls won't cause encounters to drag unnecessarily.

Matching the tone of the books this campaign is inspired by will take collaboration. I want the heroes of this story to have lives that involve more than their swords and spells. If you’re just looking to roleplay a non-stop fantasy porno, this isn't the game for you. But if you are interested in writing a character who is enriched by getting to explore their desires, be influenced by lusts, make compromises out of attraction, and maybe even experience heartbreak if their trust and affection wound up in the wrong hands-- then you're exactly who I'm looking for!

If you can't be bothered to respond to the RP for days at a time, I'm going to kick you out! Plain and simple. I won't be reaching out. I won't be constantly giving you reminders. There will be no stoppages for you to get your shit together. It's a big world, and I'm not going to hesitate to find someone else interested in actively participating in the adventure if you go ghost. I understand that IRL always comes first, so if you have the common courtesy to reach out and explain your circumstances that prevent you from putting together a couple paragraphs every day, then I will still be replacing you, but I will move your character out of the story for you to pick up later on when you can. If you can't manage to let me know what's going on, then I'm just going to forget about you and move right along so everyone else can continue the fun!

My plan is to be pretty rules-light with this campaign since while I run a lot of D&D, I haven't run that many text games. I'm still confident I can handle it, but I'm just throwing it out there in case there are bumps along the road. If you're more experienced in the pbp arena than I am, I'd greatly appreciate your advice as things are coming together. We will be using dndbeyond and the standard discord bots. In my experience, these games work a lot better when the story is put above mechanics, so keeping things to PHB races and PHB/XgtE subclasses. If you're looking to do some awesome game-breaker build you've theory crafted for months. This may not be the game for it. I don't plan on meticulously tracking things to make sure you get your sentinel feat trigger each turn.

Im new to this so bare with :)
I've recently transitioned into CyberSecurity and i'm building a lab at home to play around with. Long story short i've acquired a decomissioned HP ProLiant DL360 G9, quite a big ol' boy. I don't have a rack but this and a small unmanaged switch is likely going to be the only hardware I have in here. I won't be able to vertical wall mount is as i'll be storing it in my loft I think so the beams are /\ this shape. 2 Questions, really: 1. What are my options for single rack server cabs, i've looked but I cant seem to make sense of the sizing. 2. I live in the UK and it's about to turn summer, will this be too hot for a server in a loft?

SO I set up a Test, Not looking for best Number of DPS but looking at their usefulness of each element to unlock " the Ultimate Valheim Elemental Kendo " ( Path of elemental swords lol )

OK here Testing Spec :
1star Charred warrior vs Every melee weapons +maxed skills
Results :
* 1h/2h Swords can 2 shot form parried+2ndary ( lvl3 Mistwalker can 2shot so everything above it automatically can )
* Mace parried+2ndary counter 2 and 1 more swing
* Axes have too much number flying around lol - so I skippid since we all know Axes is the just the best for proc in this biome
* SpeaBow/Xbow nope Im lazy to shoot pierce resist mob to waste time when I'm on path of Ultimate Kendo -skipped

No.1 On the fix list is the Nature Kendo path !
Nature weapons are pitifully weak compare to Staff of wild that recently got insane boost. I don't think I would go this Nature kendo path because of embarrassment, Imagine being Nature Kendo Viking with only 20% chance to proc per hit VS. Five 8-meters Long Tentacles mercilessly slapping any foes and root locking them all lol. who would want to go out with Nature Kendo Viking :(
My conclusion : Nature weapons need to break even with Staff of wild
-1st Suggestion "Only Nature weapons" should get more proc but lessen immobilize timer (Currently 10 sec). Im thinking probably around 50% proc and only 2-4 sec immobilize is ok spot for kendo. not too crazy long immobilize period ( 2-3 weapon swing or One 2ndary atk ), Reliable chance to actually crowd control when big mob join in **( Higher proc, but lower effect, since melee have more raw damage than summon roots ) -OR 2nd suggestion keep proc chance and effect duration same But with Additional Idea of " Elemental Interaction " by adding more armor to immobilized enemies (they covered in root bro) which for example / make them extra weak to fire ? ( swap to use Dynwyn, Finally some use lol ) / or extra weak to poison dot ? ( to make sure every mob will get poison dot if they got root lock ) / or them wet ? ( strangled by slimy tentacle to combo with storm effect man don't think weird stuff ) -OR 3rd Find middle ground between 1st & 2nd to keep nature theme which is the superior path in CC and support + maybe apply elemental interaction for multiplayer purposes? -OR " just NERF staff of wild " a bit :P

For example : -1st Vampiric path. around 20% - 30% proc to heal 20HP : or Heal 20HP per kill to prevent Health potion out of business :o * 2HP+1Stam food, 20HP is like 10% of total HP * 1HP+2stam, 20HP is around 20% * 3HP food, around 7% * 3stam food, 40% but every mob can 1 shot you lol This could work really well for 1HP2Stam for blood thirsty dodge-roll soullike-viking Kendo \**Why proc? because Lifesteal Axes/Bow will out perform other weapons in speed*

-3rd more extreme Eye of an eye, Tooth of a tooth path. * higher cri-dmg multiplier / parry bonus / sneak bonus than other * cri chance +0.2 per hp loss ( -100HP+20% ) ( -200HP+40% ) combine with higher cri-dmg multiplier * chance to insta-kill if mob HP is below 30% ,fighting big mob its really huge benefit Straight Cri-chance is better way than parry bonus or sneak bonus since you wouldn't want to parry when your HP is already so low
-4th Blood Magic Blade (Kendo path for 2Eitr food since we got to use bubble anyway) spend extra Eitr to deal extra blood damage. for example *every swing will spend extra 15 eitr and get extra 50 damage on that hit. scale with blood magic at level 100 could be like 150 dmg

At this rate let jump right in to my conclusion : Dyrnwyn need to be awesome that you really want to show off no matter what

• First is the fire glow Effect, low level mobs don't get scare a bit heh, Neck and Boar will still charge at you lol
• Maybe " a comfort piece " like when you traveling with your friend and want to re-rested buff real quick under troll cave entrance then you just un-sheath the sword and immediately everyone start to get jelly of you who only have that sword in the whole server lol ( also +1 extra comfort bonus aura ! )
• Maybe " Elemental Interaction " and with its own proc for example ; *Melting which reduce defense point and make mob weak to Fire and Heat so any Ashlands mob will get insta kill by lava if they got hit by this blade proc *Super Heated Blade : brief charging period to get blade red hot ( like many heating blade cutting stuff on utube lol ) and will deal massive dmg and special effect *Explosive blade? sound like anime !
• Maybe same effect like fire troll aura, fire aura which deal dmg around you
• Maybe you won't get wet because heat from sword is evaporating every single water particle around you lol

Am I really looking for Viking Kendo, Or looking to become anime demon slayer ? hmm...

TL;DR: The Zephyrus G14, Legion Slim 5 14", and Envy x360 are all solid in their own ways, when configured correctly.
Long Version
My 2020 Envy x360 is getting a bit long in the tooth. It's a 15.6" Ryzen 5 3500U. I work from home, travel internationally for work (manufacturing), and I enjoy a bit of light gaming. My goal is/was to check as many boxes as possible for light and portable, a nice display, and some mild gaming capability. The 15.6" form factor is a bit too large for use in economy airline seating, hence the downsize to 14". I was also aiming to keep this below $1,200 all-in.
Over the past month I've been trying out several laptops before making a final selection. I've no affiliation with BestBuy, but I'd like to note their $50 membership to get the benefit of 60-day returns. Totally worth it to try out so many different laptops before deciding which to live with.
Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (2023 and 2024)
I sought out a lightly used G14 from 2023 since you can add 1 SO-DIMM to expand memory capacity. I also tried out a 2024 model with soldered memory. Beautiful OLED displays, segment-leading performance, highly recommend uninstalling the Asus software for GHelper. My biggest gripes with the Zephyrus lineup is how hot and loud they run (keyboard gets too hot to the touch) and they're a bit too flashy looking. LEDs on the lid are a bit much. If I didn't want a touchscreen, I'd look for a lightly used 2023 model for under $900.
Lenovo Legion Slim 5 14.5" (2024)
I read some reviews commending the Slim 5 series for running cool and quiet and for flying under the radar. After running this laptop for a couple weeks I can confirm. With the optional 140W charger I was able to run RDR2 at very high settings on a long flight to Europe. Keyboard gets warm but never hot. Beautiful OLED screen. Ports are mostly on the back of the unit which is ideal for docking at a desktop. The Lenovo software has less features than the Asus counterpart but there is a 3rd party option with Lenovo Legion Toolkit. Power management is a bit hinky when using LLT + UXTU. I never was quite clear which software took the lead for controlling power states but setting start-up profiles for plugged/unplugged was pretty easy. I was able to get around 7 hours in Eco/Quiet mode emailing and running excel at 30-50% brightness. This is a great alternative to the G14 with it's larger screen, fantastic cooling, and excellent port placement.
Lenovo Yoga 7 14" (2024)
I wanted to try out another 2-in-1 because the touch screen + pen combo is handy for note taking, whiteboard sketching, and redlining drawings and blueprints. Good build quality and port selection. Edit: Correction, USB 4.0 seems to be available on the Yoga 7 AMD models. The PSREF product page for the 14AHP9 does show the front left USB C port is indeed USB 4.0. There seem to be inconsistencies with the marketing materials on Lenovo's website. The base IPS screen only has ~45% color gamut and looks very washed out. Coming from the OLEDs, the IPS was a major disappointment. Similar keyboard to the Legion, a bit "clicky" with a sudden breakover. Doesn't include a pen! You can get an OLED in the Yogo 9 or a 100% sRGB IPS on the Yogo Pro 7 variant but both cost several hundred more. Similar to the HP Spectres, the Yoga 9s have an inferior port selection in favor of a slimmer chassis.
HP Envy x360 14" (2024)
The off the shelf model has a better IPS screen than the Lenovos with ~65% sRGB but it still doesn't hold a candle to the OLEDs or 100% sRGB IPS offerings. The Envy lineup has significantly better port selection than the Spectre x360s but no USB 4. Worth noting the units from BestBuy do not include a pen, so you can add another $50-120 for the pen you want. The keyboard feels very nice, good amount of force required for breakover and I'm enjoying typing on this model more than the Lenovos. The Envy with the 8840HS seems a bit power hungry and will require some power state tweaking. Without changing any power settings I dropped 20% of the battery life over the course of a 90 minutes web browsing and typing this out in MS Edge, screen is at 30% brightness. Ultimately I enjoy using this Envy more than the comparable Lenovo Yoga.
Conclusion
I really dislike HP and their CEO but there is no denying they make a darn fine laptop. This morning I submitted a custom order to HP for a 14" Envy x360 that I decked out: 8840HS, 32GB RAM, OLED, 1TB SSD with 4 PCIE lanes, WiFi 7 chip. Came in just under $1,300 after taxes and rush shipping. This model includes HP's MPP2.0 pen. It will be more power hungry than this IPS model so I will certainly be using UXTU to help control power consumption. It's been fun nerding out and trying different laptops but I'm happy to settle down for the long haul with another Envy.
