2024.05.16 04:20 TurtleMooseGame GPU with the same pins as a GT 545?
I got a free computer off from my church, and the only thing keeping it from decently playing games is the GPU (it usually caps at 17fps). Currently it has a GT 545 in it, as says the title. I tried putting an RX 550 in it, but nothing would display. I think that the slot is damaged, and the 545's pin layout just doesn't use a damaged connection. Does anyone know a better GPU with the same pin layout or a way to fix it? Thanks for any help.

 | Iâm sure people here are sick of my posts but Iâm a first time bun mom! Well, Jojo has eaten through another cone. Iâm feeling very defeated with him and I could use some advice from a well educated bunny parent. On my last post, some told me stories of how their bunnies got infected and died after they were neutered due to ripping apart the wound⌠they said that the bunnies acted normally: ate, drank, and slept, but passed away due to infection. Iâm getting nervous, is this common? Is he okay out of the cone as long as I keep my eye on him this next few weeks? He canât relax or handle a cone and heâs super fidgety so I canât do the âonesieâ many suggested. I canât even hold him or he kicks and squirms like crazy one time thrashing into his cage. Iâve spent over 50 dollars at the vetâs just on cones alone! I donât know if itâs a cash grab or a legitimate concern. I'm a pretty extensive Amazon user here in Japan, and I often get these little chits with my products that say something like 'give us a 5 star review and we'll give you a 1,000 yen gift certificate' or something like that. I think anyone who has used Amazon enough will have gotten these (usually from Chinese distributors). I usually just chuck these and don't give them a second thought, but now I'm thinking hey, this is basically free money. Still, I hate the idea even more of leaving fake reviews (that must be 5 stars) for incentives.

At first these people really pissed me off and I wanted to report them immediately. Then I thought hmm... what if I give them the 5 star review, then email them my screenshot, receive my gift certificate and use it, and then edit my review to be my real rating and also post about their little scam. I mean, in that way, I could punish them even more by taking money away and getting them reprimanded.
Then I looked into this because I thought surely I'm not the first person to think of this. Then I found other threads like this one and this one and I'm sure there are dozens of others on reddit. Basically, the gist that I got was that it's against the Amazon terms of service to be compensated for a review, so doing the strategy of '5 star > get gift certificate > 1 star edit' could get your account banned (and has for other redditors). So anyway, that seemed out of the question for me. Then I read several cynical views of people pointing out (correctly so), that Amazon generally benefits from having sellers and highly rated products so people buy more, and often they screw over the customer rather than the distributor. And also things like distributors can easily get negative reviews taken down, or even posting about the gift certificates could get your reprimanded as it's not part of the 'actual product' kind of thing.
All of this has just made me fairly pessimistic about the whole thing - not even cashing in and editing reviews from 5 star reviews, but just taking any action against the sellers altogether.
Has anyone thought about this kind of thing or taken action? Has anyone reported sellers before, or had negative reviews taken down from Amazon or the seller or something? Do some people just cash in and just shut up about it?
I don't know, I'd rather do the 'right thing' than just get a few thousand yen. Whole situation just kind of disappoints me.

Like I imagine many in this community of frequent flyers - the vast majority of my personal/discretionary flying is done with points. I think one of the advantage of points flight is if you want to cancel you go into the app/website and it's east to cancel and and get your points and the small amount of USD/cash back. It seems to really be a hassle-free task to do this.
Recently a family member had booked an economy return ticket from LHR to SFO with cash (GBP, since bought in UK). It was not the refundable variety, as there was no reason to suppose to cancel at that time - so just standard economy. But soon before the trip illness struck and the person was taken to hospital and the travel was sadly not possible.
The assumption was that the cash for the flight was lost and it was a travel insurance claim to try to get any money back. But we went into the United website for them (they were in hospital) and on looking into cancelling the flight it said the cash value was offered as a future flight credit. This was most welcome, as the intention is to the trip at a later date, so we took it. So not a refund, but a credit is really next best thing.

Recently a family member had booked an economy return ticket from LHR to SFO with cash (GBP, since bought in UK). It was not the refundable variety, as there was no reason to suppose to cancel at that time - so just standard economy. But soon before the trip illness struck and the person was taken to hospital and the travel was sadly not possible.
The assumption was that the cash for the flight was lost and it was a travel insurance claim to try to get any money back. But we went into the United website for them (they were in hospital) and on looking into cancelling the flight it said the cash value was offered as a future flight credit. This was most welcome, as the intention is to the trip at a later date, so we took it. So not a refund, but a credit is really next best thing.

- Had this on a hunting rifle, saw maybe 30rd of use only at the range. The bikini cover was cut on accident.

2024.05.16 03:43 pakrninja 20 things I learned for budget oriented tourists in Vegas
- Fremont Street Experience - 3 stages with Live bands, plenty of street performers, 2 OG casinos (1 of which lets you take a picture with $1,000,000) plus plentiful bars/restaurants. Spending money is not required. We didn't make it at night, but from what I understand it is a good show. During the summer there are more popular artists that perform in the area.
- Buy a bus pass. $20 for 3 days of unlimited rides. Bus stops at most casinos on the strip as well as Fremont Street. It can get crowded, but it is far cheaper than Lyft/Uber or parking your own vehicle.
- Plan on having cash on hand for tipping. They gave us a booklet with recommended tipping amounts for just about any potential service you could require. On a budget you don't want to be that tourist that doesn't tip when expected, but you also don't want to overdue it. Just a quick few (Bellhops $1-$3 per bag, Housekeeping $5-$10 per day you have them clean, Buffets $5-$10 per person)
- Just about everything else can be purchased using Credit/Debit cards. Even a lot of the street performers take digital payments now (Zelle, CashApp, Venmo, Paypal)
- High Roller observation wheel - If you are 21+, I would recommend getting the "Happy half hour" tickets (Cost a bit more but include unlimited drinks on your ride) which can be used at any time of the day, but definitely go at night. Pods are supposed to hold up to 40 ppl, but when we went we had about 12-15 people besides us. Plenty of room and plenty of time to get your drink on.
- Wear comfortable shoes, When looking at a map it can be deceiving how far things are from each other. You will find out quickly that you will put some mileage on. My wife and I averaged about 9-10 miles of walking per day, and that was with us trying to avoid it due to medical issues.
- Hotel - We stayed at the Hilton Grand Vacations, it's a very nice hotel. Our room was massive, included a full kitchen, dishwasher, dishes, washedryer, and an in wall safe. Be aware, they will ransack you with signing up for a sales presentation. If you are willing to sit through the presentation you will score some goodies, like free show tickets or free dinner, etc. You are under no obligation to buy anything, but if you want free... this is a good way.
- Speaking of washedryer in our room, check your booking closely to see if you have one. If you do, make sure to not overpack. We stayed a week and probably could have packed for 3 days and been just fine.
- Book a room with a full kitchen if possible. We went grocery shopping after checking in and stocked up enough basic foods for the week so we didn't have to eat out every meal. When every meal is going to cost you a minimum of $15-$20 per person basically everywhere, it can add up quick. Plus all of the dishes were included, we just had to wash them. They also provided dishwasher detergent.
- Resort Fees - Be aware of the hotel charging resort fees. As far as I am aware, every hotel on the strip at least has resort fees. HGV had one at $30 per night (Which literally paid for our "complimentary"Wi-Fi, having a phone in our room, and being allowed to self park) Valet was $40 per night billed on our hotel tab.
- Do not engage with the sales people on the streets unless you are truly interested. It is easy to get scammed and you aren't getting your money back. They also will hound you if you show the least bit of interest in what they are doing. If you bring kids, be aware that there is a TON of pornographic material/cards being handed out or offered in newspaper style machines. Not to mention the "showgirls" that are wandering around with very little on offering to take pictures with you (for a fee of course), there are also BDSM women that walk around and offer to spank you, in front of everyone of course.
- If you are a people watcher, be aware there are limited areas to sit and just people watch unless you sit at a barestaurant. There are surfaces around to sit on in some places, but I wouldn't count on it.
- Our 2 favorite restaurants on our trip. Margaritaville (Which we were informed will be closing down it's current location due to their lease expiring, but they are looking for a new location.) and Heart attack grill. If you don't know what either of those are, go on youtube and search. Heart attack grill is a themed restaurant and it is geared towards unhealthy eaters (or fat people if you will). Food was delicious though. Margaritaville had great food, great atmoshere, and great service.
- Buffet - If you are tempted to spend $$$ on an expensive buffet, be aware they really aren't worth the cost if you are on a budget. We went to the Wynn buffet ($75/person) which included our non-alcoholic drinks. If I had known then what I know now, I honestly would have ONLY gone for dessert. While there is a large assortment of really good food, it is all designed to fill you up quickly and there is just about zero chance you get your $75 worth unless you are a professional eater (or eat like one). But going for desserts, you have so many different choices to try and the portions are smaller being desserts. If you were to buy these desserts at a normal restaurant, they would price between $5-$25. That means you can quickly get your $75 worth without overeating. As of this post, Wynn buffet is the 2nd most expensive buffet, behind bacchanal. We only ate at the Wynn buffet, but there are also more reasonably priced buffets around $30-$50 per person.
- Blue Man Group - If you haven't heard of them, look them up. They are a comedy show, but not stand up comedy. It's skit based, involves lots of music and crowd interaction. There is NO TALKING from the members of the blue man group, they only act. Which just adds to the show, we loved it. It's a little pricey, I paid about $135 each for tickets... but it was pretty much the highlight of our trip.
- Any restaurants you plan on visiting, make reservations. Most you can make online. It may not be needed, but if you show up and there is a line down the block, you get to skip the line. Well worth it, just make sure you are there on time or you lose your spot.
- Avoid buying tourist trap excursions off websites claiming to give you a deal. 99% of them are either the exact same price as if you walk up to the venue or possibly even slightly more expensive. Not to mention, they are literally called a tourist trap for a reason. If you have money to blow, have at it. But on a budget, you won't miss out by not getting sucked in.
- At basically every restaurant there will be a photographer walking around offering to take pictures. Don't be fooled into thinking these are free photos. They will give you one complimentry photo that is tiny, like as small as those instamax cameras (1x1 photos). They will offer you 2 larger photos (4x6) in a (not so) fancy cardboard photo frame. At the time of this post, it was $20 per photo. *Tourist Hack* If you want the photos, tell them you do not want them and they will offer you both photos without the cardboard frame for $20. This worked at every single restaurant that we hit. Although, we only purchased twice, because how many restaurant photos with logos and crap on it do you need?
- If you really want to save money, do things OFF-strip. Everything on the strip is pricier, I do mean EVERYTHING.
- All gift shops have basically the same things. We visited the "Worlds Largest Gift Shop" and also one called ABC gifts (or something like that). Honestly, the Worlds largest felt crowded and overwhelming. The ABC shop we went to had some nice things in it that we bought, I would recommend them.

I have a bunch of experience with IGLA now and I want to help everyone who is confused about it. Ask me anything and Iâll try to respond to as many as I can.
Basic answers:
What exactly is IGLA? Itâs a digital kill switch, that will not let the car drive without first entering a âpasswordâ or pincode using the buttons on your steering wheel. For example, when I get in my car, I start the engine, if I do not enter my pincode, the second I shift the car out of park, my engine with immediately die and will not restart until my PIN code is entered. It also doubles as an OBD2 blocker, what that means is, anyone who plugs into the port will not have access to anything. I have tested this at my local Chevy dealership. They couldnât even run a diagnostic on the car until I put IGLA into maintenance mode with a separate special pincode that is given to you after youâve bought the product.
How much is it? IGLA pricing for Camaros specifically is $1200-$1400.
How do I get it? IGLAâs website lists all approved dealers within the United States. It is not a product that can be just be bought and installed by yourself. Every installer but be trained on how to install and program it for each make and model car.
IGLAâs website has multiple devices available, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO BUY! IGLA is a Russian company that sells multiple products in Europe. Here in the US, itâs ONE product. When you go to an installer, they only have one singular product and thatâs all you need. The website can be confusing, but trust me, itâs one product that blocks your OBD2 and is a kill switch.
I called a dealer and they said they can only install up to the 2022 Camaro, am I SOL? No! Absolutely not. Any dealer who says that has not done the updated training. I had IGLA installed in my 2024 2SS back in December and it works flawlessly, I even asked my installer why some shops say that and his response was the 23 model year changed something and installers needed to be retrained.

28yo, USA, DINK LTR unmarried but living together.
Income: 110k W2 annually, plus a variable amount of K1 income (I own a small business with 500-700k ARR). For the sake of safety & being conservative, Iâm only including my income and excluding my SOâs.
Currently contributing the maximum to a Roth IRA annually on January 1st. Currently no 401k, but as the business owner I am considering starting a Roth 401k plan for all employees, which would allow me to contribute to that as well.
Saving rate: $5000/month, roughly 60k/yr. This might seem aggressive- please consider the projected expenses below.
Assets: -$15k in Roth IRA, 60/40 split between 60% ETFâs VOO,SPY,VUG as well as 40% LEAPS on SPY, AXP, V. -$6k in taxable brokerage - SPY/VUG -$5k in HYSA (aggressively saving to turn this into a 6-month emergency liquid fund) -$5k in literal cash -$15k worth of work vehicles (expenses deductible through company)
Expenses and projections: -Rent: $1000/mo (LCOL city) -Meals/discretionary spending: $1500/mo -Future aging parent with 0 retirement savings (I will be 100% responsible financially). I estimate 10 years before this expense starts up. Options include caring for the parent myself, or paying for an assisted living facility. -Huge personal medical expenses: two insurance policies costing $1650/mo totaled, as well as projected out-of-pocket medical expenses of $30k in the next 5 years due to unavoidable chronic conditions.
Buying a home or land in the next 5 years is a large goal of mine as well, provided the value fits into my budget. Currently my comfortable price range would be ~250k, but in a few years I anticipate that will grow once I have a larger nest egg. Additionally, my rent is too cheap to heavily consider moving.
Growing up dirt poor, I made consistently terrible financial decisions up until my early 20s- wasting money from a medical settlement, making money from bitcoin and wasting the proceeds, charging off credit card debt, etc. Thankfully, Iâve settled all collections and am now debt free.
The past decade has taught me lots of life lessons. Although I have matured to the point of âbetter than I used to beâ, Iâve only begun saving aggressively in the past 2 years. I feel the strong urge to make up for lost time, and Iâve got a long way to go.

Expenses and projections: -Rent: $1000/mo (LCOL city) -Meals/discretionary spending: $1500/mo -Future aging parent with 0 retirement savings (I will be 100% responsible financially). I estimate 10 years before this expense starts up. Options include caring for the parent myself, or paying for an assisted living facility. -Huge personal medical expenses: two insurance policies costing $1650/mo totaled, as well as projected out-of-pocket medical expenses of $30k in the next 5 years due to unavoidable chronic conditions.
Buying a home or land in the next 5 years is a large goal of mine as well, provided the value fits into my budget. Currently my comfortable price range would be ~250k, but in a few years I anticipate that will grow once I have a larger nest egg. Additionally, my rent is too cheap to heavily consider moving.
Growing up dirt poor, I made consistently terrible financial decisions up until my early 20s- wasting money from a medical settlement, making money from bitcoin and wasting the proceeds, charging off credit card debt, etc. Thankfully, Iâve settled all collections and am now debt free.
The past decade has taught me lots of life lessons. Although I have matured to the point of âbetter than I used to beâ, Iâve only begun saving aggressively in the past 2 years. I feel the strong urge to make up for lost time, and Iâve got a long way to go.

Before the judgment comes in, I'd like to provide some context on who I am.
I graduated from MIT as a nerdy guy who'd never been on a date, and I started working at Google full time as a software engineer, where I was quickly promoted to doing machine learning for Search. Later I moved to DeepMind in London. There I met a guy who had a similar story to me, and coincidentally two years later we found ourselves as colleagues at Bumble.
At Bumble, we were horrified. The entire business model for dating apps is the same as that for frat parties. Girls get in for free, guys have to pay. This model is inherently disadvantageous formen, as they have to rely on men paying to get an advantage over "other normal users". At bumble we called these two categories "Sheep" and "Rams". Essentially, for dating companies, men are cash-cows.
We worked for 5 months at Bumble until we decided to quit and do something about this.
Creating another dating app wasn't feasible, as Match Group â among other companies â has a near monopoly through owning Tinder, Hinge, and OkCupid â hence the market is already saturated.
Instead, we decided to leverage an already existing platform â a platform most people already use and love, and whether you know it or not, you've used it for dating purposes too; Instagram.
Eventually we created Instadate AI, an advanced AI bot that learns your type of person, and then searches, engages, and messages them in order to schedule a date, where it then notifies you â and all you have to do is show up to the date. We've poured our hearts into this project, and we've utilized cutting edge technologies that we've worked on at our previous companies.
Ultimately, the online dating world is broken, and this is our way of balancing the scale as much as we can, so that men can live happier lives full of opportunities to date women they like.
