How add yew cutter to rsbot

Be more mad.

2024.05.14 05:18 Kreeeve Be more mad.

Alright, I’m sure nothing I’m about to say right now is going to be ground breaking or revolutionary in any way and has probably been mentioned to some kind of extent a million times in this forum, but it’s the fact that it is so collectively discussed among everyday people, but never seems to be a conversation when it comes to creating legislation in government (shocker I know..). We are getting absolutely robbed blind of our time on Earth and it sickens me that more people are collectively upset about this. Now don’t get me wrong, I love having streets to drive on, medicine, technology, and all of the things that come with people like you and I going to work, but have we not completely abandoned the essence of what makes going to work even worth it? Let’s take the cookie cutter schedule for what most would consider a full time job, that’s 8 hours a day, 5 days a week multiply that by 4 weeks in a year (rough math), then multiply that by 12 months in a year and multiply THAT times 40 years worth of hours (350,640 hours) and then add on 8 hours of sleep on that per day. That’s 43.81% of 40 years spent either at work, or unconscious (if the math is wrong my bad but you get the picture). Now, I don’t know about you, but working 8 hours a day sounds like a DREAM and I am not getting doctors recommended amounts of sleep, so I couldn’t even imagine what my percentage is or what that of health care, construction, factory, production, or any kind of job for that matter. But the reason for the rant is because it seems like no one is happy with this reality, but it has been the norm for so long that going against that grain just doesn’t even seem fathomable for some; but at some point we have to demand changes to how work and life are balanced right? Emphasis on demand. We see suicide numbers skyrocketing, drug addiction are rampant, families falling apart over work complications and we’re all supposed to sit here and play dumb like maybe this whole thing isn’t working anymore? Next time you’re at work, ask around, are people super excited to wake up and go to whatever job it is? If so that’s fantastic, but I’d be willing to bet money that wouldn’t be the case. Again, not breaking news but people are perpetually burnt out, frustrated, and sad but guess what, it doesn’t matter, just gotta grind bayybay! I mean have we really relegated ourselves to waiting until our 60s to experience true freedom? We really want to be old and decrepit when we FINALLY get to see those places we’ve always dreamed of traveling to? Now I don’t know the answer, I’m just a warehouse guy…but you don’t have to be a weatherman to know when it’s fucking raining. And I know this goes deep down to lobbyists, politicians and blah blah blah blah but at some point it becomes too much. I understand that this isn’t a shared perception with absolutely everyone, but I’d bet MOST people are pretty fed up, I know I am.

2024.05.14 05:14 Cool-Appointment3475 Hades hangame idea: Hades Valhalla

Hades hangame idea: Hades Valhalla
Hades Valhalla Hades fangame idea
Playable character: Loki
Premise Somehow Loki misused Ygdrisil and was shot across the multiverse with Mjolnir. Ends up on Mt Olympus and must find Mjolnir along with several other mythical weapons that were dragged along with him, before returning home
Gimmick Just like Zagreus’s death defy and Melanoe with her magic, Loki can use Tricks to advance evade attacks and deceive enemies. He has a number of charges that refill every level, and depending on what items he has equipped, he can perform different actions. The first one would let him evade an attack if it would otherwise kill him this becomes relevant later. Others could let him sneak through rooms turning it into a stealth mission, he could disarm enemies leaving them defenseless, or maybe attack enemies from behind. Boons would be here as well, exept a it’s in the form of theft, as Loki is taking power from these gods and it’s not a gift of divine power.
Gameplay The thing that would set Loki apart from the other two protagonists is he’s essentially a glass cannon. He can string together attacks easily with low endlag, but his health is severely lowered compared to his two counterparts. Where Zagreus has his survivabilty to count on, Loki relies on high damage and dexterity to get through challenges. He would of course have his dashes but he starts with two instead of the one and he’s traditionally faster than Zag, almost always in a sprint animation. Camps act as the starting session in the game. Each time you move on to a new part you will start at a camp, where you can switch weapons and Tricks, heal a bit, or fight with Atalanta; However if you die you get sent all the way back to Olympus
Enemies Pt 1: The Olympian gods would be the primary challenge of part one. As Loki descends Mt Olympus many minor gods, servants, or guards would mistake him for an intruder and try to kill him. When killed his connection to Yggdrasil would send him back to the peak of Olympus. On his way down he would find several other mythical weapons as he descends collecting them. The final boss would be an Olympian god, decided on who Loki has offended the most during the run. This is decided through who they killed, where the player decided to go, and from whom the player has stolen the most.
Pt 2: On his way to find a Root of Yggdrasil, several figures from other mythologies track Loki down and send minions after him, attempting to get their weapons back. Loki can gain boons from other characters after defeat.
Pt 3: When they find their way to Yggdrasil Loki has to make their way through the nine realms with one final fight with a very angry Thor to enter Asgard.
Other characters Brokke and Sindri: The weapon smiths in the late game. You can craft weapons with them, by gathering shards, and they can even give you advice on fighting forms.
Hephestas: He acts similar to Brokke and Sindri but at the beginning on Olympus. Because he doesn’t technically live on Olympus, instead in his forge, he doesn’t care what you’re here for, as long as you respect his craftsmanship and pay him well he’ll let you pass.
Atalanta: A hunter guided by Athena. She doesn’t know your there on Olympus illegally and acts like Skelly does exept she will fight back, seeing it as a training session. She’s on Olympus because she’s a hero, and she will move from camp to camp using her expert navigation and speed to move.
Meleager: Atalanta’s love interest . They acts as a kind character with relations to Aphrodite. He remains in Olympus and talks to you after each outing, discussing the challenges you faced and advice on how to get around them.
Weapons: Sharp Wits: Two twin daggers that you start the game with. You can do a three slash cycle with their main attack and throw them as your special.
Pillar Staff: Sun Wu Kong’s staff, it has as a large swing radius and can you can spin it around you as the special.
Grass-Cutter: A short sword that has two swings on each strike, one main damaging one and a smaller disjointed slash of wind after. The special would create a beam of wind pushing enemies backwards
Gae-Bulg: A spear with simple reach strikes and a special that kicks it. When kicked the spear explodes into a small bush of thorns.
Pouch of Sand: A small leather pouch containing nearly endless amounts of sand connected to the realm of dream. When swung the pouch shoots a slash of sand and its special could be single target attack that lulls the enemy to rest. (Neil Gaiman is pretty cool)
Questions Why can Loki just chill on Olympus. The other gods recognize him as another god and they may mistake him as just some minor one or just let him be until he upsets them.
How is Loki drawn back to Olympus after death. The idea is that when a god dies, they’re just drawn back to the nearest divine dwelling to regain strength. Zagreus is different as he has specific ties to Hades.
What new gods could show up. This is very interesting as I really want to expand the world of Hades so not only would I love to add more Olympian’s (Eros, Apollo, maybe Orphic Dionysus), but I also want to add other mythologies such as Shintoism, the Celtic fae, obviously Norse, and hopefully The Sand Man (not directly Niel Gaimans, but sort of a mix between different variations).
Notes Idk, figured it was a cool concept. Is it worth exploring?

2024.05.13 22:58 kitterskills Difference between 925B and 922B string trimmer

Hello friends, I have a 20V Dewalt set(drill, impact, leaf blower, circular, multi, etc, etc) and I'm looking to add a string trimmer to help around the driveway/wall area in my yard.
After reading some reviews on the 20 vs 60, I've decided I don't need that level of power. I'm looking at buying the tool (found an open box for $100 tool only on eBay) and adding a 5AH battery(new) or two to my collection.
I've found a few models available 922B vs 925B. The biggest difference looks like the string extension press button on the bottom. But I'd like advice on the differences and which one is newer?
Thanks!
PS - Also, special request but not top of my list just yet. How valuable is the metal brush cutter? Are there plastic blades available? I saw a YouTube video of someone that put a plastic push-n-load blade trimmer head on a dewalt and it worked pretty well.

2024.05.13 16:33 leinir STAR-F3V9-NVLK for 5,000 UEC [+More, see post]

Welcome prospective citizen of the stars!
Use my code STAR-F3V9-NVLK when signing up (or click this link: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/enlist?referral=STAR-F3V9-NVLK ) to nab an extra 5,000 of the game's currency UEC when the game is eventually finished (as well as after wipes, like the most recent one which happened for 3.18). Note that you cannot add a code after creating your account!
Bonus? What bonus?!
The bonus stuff happens once you have spent at least USD40 in the pledge store; for example, in case there is a referral bonus going on when you go past that USD40 spend, using my code here would also let you get in on that if you pass that threshold during that period. Doing it any other time will still land you that 5,000 UEC, but it's usually a neat bonus and it'd be a shame to miss out on it :)
The most recent bonus ended on the 2nd of May, so there may well be a bit of a wait until the next one. There is usually one during the two large events each year, the next one being Invictus Launch Week which will run from the 17th until the 29th of May this year, but of course there are no guarantees. You can always create an account with my code, and give me a poke here to send you a note when it's on (i do this for free-fly events as well, read on for that).
Free Fly Time
But! Don't spend until you're ready. There is not currently a free-fly going on (the most recent one ended on the 15th of February), but next is due to start on the 17th of May for Invictus Launch Week, and will run all the way until the 29th. If you are wanting to try out the game, always do that first, before paying. It also shows the game at its roughest (because of the influx of new people), so if you can deal with how the game runs then, you'll be ok when it runs better. Importantly, until you're pretty sure you want to get in, don't spend.
If you want to try things out now, though, refunding is straightforward (i can help you if that turns out to be a thing you want to do and can't find it yourself), but always, doing a free-fly is just a bit easier. The free-flies come around pretty often, usually four or five a year, so they are regular enough that with a bit of patience, you won't need to do that refund dance, which, while easy enough, is still more work than just waiting for the free-fly.
If you would like to wait for the next free-fly, but haven't got the time to check all the time to keep up on when that is going to be - feel free to give me a poke if you'd like a reminder when the next one happens, and i'll send you a message here on Reddit to make sure you know about it :) (though, of course, it's this Friday - i can still remind you, but given the date, popping it your calendar might be more immediately useful ;) )
What Do?
If you do decide to pledge now, however: As a new player, you will likely want to hop on and actually do the tutorial that has (finally) been added. It's a fairly short one, but it'll get you familiar with the basics of the game (on-foot navigation, interaction, flight controls, that sort of stuff), and you even get a set of armour and a bit of cash at the end of it. In short, simple, but worth your time. You can also use the Guide system, which you can find over on Spectrum once you've signed up: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/spectrum/guide - sometimes there's little bonuses for doing that as well, but it's always useful, as it's a real person, who plays the game, who is there to help you work out how to do things in the game.
For the moment, the servers seem to be pretty happy, but as the game is still in development, there's going to be bugs, sometimes light, sometimes extreme. So while the general gameplay is decently smooth, of course the old "it's an alpha" always applies, and you should always treat this game as one to make sure your expectations are at the correct level for jankiness. That said, you just might be able to have some outright gameplay type fun out in the big sandbox that is out little star system of Stanton.
The game is also currently playing host to a huge new chain of missions, which can arguably be done solo (according to some), but which are outright amazing with other people. There's even permanent bonus gifts for you if you complete the chain! I won't go into it too deeply here, but the page here has all the information you need to take part, and as you will see, it's quite a lot: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/19753-Overdrive-Initiative
What Game Package To Get
Most importantly, when picking what to get: Anything called a "starter pack" will get you in the game, and spending more doesn't equal a better ship. Specifically, don't get something called a Standalone Ship, as that will not include game access. It says as much on the store, but there is a lot of text, so it bears pointing out here.
Right now, there is no big sale happening, so the most cost effective way to get in the game is one of either the Mustang Alpha or the RSI Aurora MR starter packs. These will do you very well for a starter ship (and if you want, you can either upgrade that ship later with money, or you can buy pretty much any ship in the game inside the game, for in-game money, which generally is fairly easy to come by).
For just slightly more, the Cutter starter package is currently on sale at 15% off its normal price. This is still just a touch more than the two base starters above, but the tiny amount more gives you one of the newest and most fun little boats in the 'verse, which has all the features you'd reasonably need (including a bed, a small kitchenette, personal storage, and even a bit of cargo space). https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/Packages/Cutter-Starter-Package is where you can see that one.
Definitely don't spend until you're ready, though - especially given the proximity of Invictus, where you'll be able to try out a whole pile of ships.
Thanks!
Thanks for you consideration, and o7 to all our new citizens from captain leinir! If you need any help, feel free to give me a poke here, and i'll be happy to try and help you (we can even do the guide thing) - in particular the basics of the game and its quirks, or if you need help working out which starter pack to buy in the pledge store.
So either use my code STAR-F3V9-NVLK when signing up, or just click right here to create a new account: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/enlist?referral=STAR-F3V9-NVLK

2024.05.13 06:08 Natural_Morning2559 [REVIEW] My White Whale: The Row Margaux, A Tale of Two Bags (for now)

[REVIEW] My White Whale: The Row Margaux, A Tale of Two Bags (for now)
Kata (L) and Reference Only Store (R)
*No sellers are aware of the below review. I felt a more *storytime* review was appropriate for this long winded comparison. Hope the mods aren't mad at a story time review <3
First off, I'd like to acknowledge that since my first purchase of this bag, Vogue has labeled it the "New Birkin". While a fun way to drum up drama for the bag and get it to sell out everywhere... A Birkin is still a Birkin. Finding an auth version of this bag IRL at a store has become impossible, though if you're in NY or LA, I've heard from Row expert Neelam Ahooja that they restock on Tuesdays at the boutiques, so you might be able to fondle one there for rep comparison purposes.
Expertise: My first rep was from Venice Beach boardwalk in the early 2000s. It was a rainbow Louis Vuitton in a weird shell shape and I was the happiest 10 year old. Fast forward to my 30th birthday and discovering that article. I've worked in fashion, handling luxury goods on photoshoots for years, and the thrill of being able to afford the bags only my bosses had been able to afford was bliss!
Seller: Ever since I've been buying from Amelia. Her prices are the lowest I've been quoted, she has an extensive library of factories, and her shipping times are fast - often arriving within a week of being posted. Bottega and the Row were top of my list! I started with Bottega, found some absolutely A+ reps from Top Factory and decided it was time to get a new work bag AKA The Row Margaux.
For your reference:
Authentic
Factory Photos for Kata
PSPs for Kata
My Photos - comparisons between Kata and Ref Only Store. The color gets a bit extra red because of my blue/green sofa in the detail shots
Prices:
Kata: 1980CNY + 580CNY shipping = 2560CNY = About $350
Ref Only Store: EDITED TO ADD: I just remembered I could search my CC statement, and the bag was $504 before the extra $34 shipping charge). [I deleted my original receipt 🫣 but I believe it was around $400 for the bag + $40 shipping. I do have my receipt for extra shipping added on January 3rd for an extra $34 so the bag wouldn't get crushed in shipment.]
Backstory: I tried the NS Park store, but they weren't great to wear around my row obsessed colleagues. I looked at the bag IRL and online, comparing factory photos to the real thing, especially to figure out which size to get. I was a researcher possessed, thinking non-stop of this damn bag!!!
I stopped by a luxury store in Nantucket (lol) and tried on both sizes. Both worked great on my 5'8" frame but the 15 seemed a bit younger and fresher, less destined as an overnight bag. I regret this decision later on.
Late last summer, the Margaux was selling for around $1,500 on resale sites like The Real Real, something that I could have realistically afforded at the time, but I was all in on reps. And I was on a ROLL with my reps. I had found the best Bottega's but I now wanted The Perfect Work Bag TM. Having worked with Amelia before, I submitted my request for a Margaux 15 in Tan Saddle Leather. Factory photos looked generally good compared to the bags I'd seen IRL, but it's all in the details with a bag like this. The leather didn't look as smooth or shiny as the authentic, but I figured my newfound bestie leather honey would be able to help.
Kata Margaux 15: The bag arrived promptly, and immediately I was discouraged by the leather. It's not a saddle leather. It's smooth, but has a tight grain unlike any saddle leather I've seen before. It's soft, but the leather should be a bit stiffer upon arrival. It looks great but once you touch it it feels... weird. I've never felt a luxury bag that feels like this. And most importantly this leather DOES NOT SCRATCH. This bag and leather should get scratched up by the gentlest snag of the nail. It makes me wonder if it's a leather composite rather than saddle. The quality is just not there. But that being said, the leather honey helped! It got a beautiful sheen and softened up a bit and the buffed in oil added a bit of slip. The hardware is a bit off in shape, a bit more rounded, but it's only obvious in comparison next to an auth, and out and about it's visually a perfect rep. The measurements math the Row site's perfectly. I have gotten so many compliments on this bag walking through SoHo on my way to work in the morning.
I've carried it everyday to work since I got it, and really put it through the wringer. It's softened up and gotten slouchy like I know so many hope for. The feet are now scratched and reveal 3 layers of different metals under the gold lol. It's a hand held only bag and can kinda be held over the shoulder if you also hold the bottom like they do on the Row runway. A 13"/14" laptop slides in perrrrrfectly between the folds of the sides and is kept upright so you can easily access your stuff inside. This is the best thing about this being a work bag, and I don't see enough people singing this praise. It holds a lunch, workout clothes, a notebook and small water bottle with room for copious lipsticks and other stuff. The width is perfect for throwing things in but still being able to find them easily. It's not too tall which helps with this as well. I leave the buckles undone most of the time so I can easily get my laptop in or out. Three interior pockets is a perfect amount for holding extra lipsticks and hair ties and whatever other random stuff that would otherwise end up on the bottom of your bag. And as much as it is a little annoying that it doesn't really fit over the shoulder except in the lightest of layers, I think only being able to hold it has done wonders for my neck and shoulder pain. But, it gets SO heavy SO fast and makes picking up groceries on the way home incredibly uncomfortable. I think I was commuting with a 20 pound bag some days.
Only a few months into owning it, the edging on the handle started to peel off. The stretching and compressing of the handles from carrying the weight of my daily essentials caused the edging to disconnect from the handle. After a few weeks of trying to hide this I peeled it all off so it wouldn't so obviously be flapping around. Now, I was mad. I was anxious it was a giant red flag that read FAKE. This $300+ bag is falling apart already?? My dream bag???
So, I ripped it off, figuring I'd figure out how to repaint the edging eventually. It looked so much better without it on the handles, but less obvious. No one noticed until I told them, and the edging is so notoriously bad for these bags that no one was surprised. It took me weeks of after work research and being told by multiple cobblers that they couldn't replace the plastic edge painting (lol) to find the appropriate edge paint type - a polymer (aka plastic) that gets layered on first as a base coat, and then the color. It's relatively easy to do after I practiced on cardboard a few times. But, it took me foreverrrrr to get the courage to actually paint the edges.
Quick interlude into story time for the brand of edge paint I used: Giardini Max Edge Pro, in colors: Black, White, Tan 69, Light Brown 59, and Basecoat Dense. If you find yourself in a position to redo the edging on your Row Cuir colored bag, you will need all 4 of these shades to get an exact match!
In the meantime, I was mad. I was anxious. I thought my bag was SCREAMING to anyone that looked in its extended vicinity that it was a fake all because of this goddamn edging. I lost my mind. No one was looking. My coworkers in fact, who have also worked in fashion for years were fondling it and drooling over it. No doubt in their minds at it's originally. My big big boss was in fact one of them and she's worked in fashion magazines for decades! She carries a Kelly to the office! Another coworker (tbh a weird freelancer) grabbed it without my permission and went through it talking about how she wants one and then asked if she could have a lip balm of mine (?????). This bag passed the fondling when not next to an authentic test with flying colors. BUT I couldn't see past the flaws.
Ref Only Margaux 15: So, unable to rest easy, I purchased the Reference Only Store Margaux 15 in the same brown saddle leather right after Christmas. The NS Park tote I got from her earlier last year was absolutely perfect with no discernible difference from the auth when held next to each other in the store. Edging, logo, leather quality, all are perfect. I had very high hopes.
It took months to ship, which was disclosed upon purchase. It was a preorder from their supposed contract factory whipping these up over the first few months of the year. My plan became to get this one, fix up my well worn handle myself with the above edge painting and rehome it.
Opening the Ref Only Margaux was an emotional journey. First off, THE LEATHER IS FUCKING AMAZING. It is soft and buttery and will age so well. It scratches like it should. The smell is divine!!! The construction is beautiful. I realized that the stitching should be a bit wider on the horizontal than the edges and this one has it! But, the measurements are an inch off in either direction. The handle drop is 2 inches longer than it should be?(?). BUT at least this means that it easily fits over my shoulder lol. The glazing is too light, but the color of the leather looks much more auth. The handle strap attachment is a little puffy instead of concave? Not at first glance an obvious issue, but the way it reflects light is all wrong. I've seen a few other people who got theirs and had the same issues and complained about this beautiful leather, but I would like to point out that anyone complaining about this leather scratching needs to get a grip and realize that is very much a sign of the quality, not whatever bonded shit they're used to (shots fired, not at all sorry, sometimes we need a reality check on what we're obsessing over, myself included). The logo on the buckle looks ok, somewhat similar to the depth on newer bags (see Net-a-Porter screenshots). BUT the feet are terrible. They look like they're done with a laser cutter, not cast in like it should be. The stamp is small and deep - and from what I can tell this color and leather should be shallow.
All in all, I think it's too different to swap to this bag from my Kata one after my whole department has oohed and ahhhed over this bag. It will have to be a catch and release. Overall this bag isn't worth the money if you live in an area that knows the Row. BUT, if you live somewhere where you're the only one who knows, or you just don't care and are looking for a quality bag with this shape, this one is it. The quality is better, the leather is better, but it shouldn't be thought of as a Margaux.
Repairs: So, getting this bag and losing all hope, I was finally mentally prepared to paint the edging on my old Kata. While practicing on cardboard helped a ton, the first strap was a bit clunky to do, but by the second it was muuuuch easier to get clean lines. If anyone finds this post while looking for how to fix the rubberized edging on theirs, I highly recommend USING LITTLE CLAMPS to keep the side narrow while the paint dries so it doesn't harden in a stretched out state. It was very necessary to getting a clean finish. You only need to use them on the first coat and then it will be set. Don't worry about any wrinkling that might happen as subsequent coats will even it out.
It worked! And then.... the handles kept stretching. The edging disconnected AGAIN. I redid one, and it's disconnected AGAIN. I've given up on fixing this bag. I've shoved both away into my closet. I bought an auth Mansur Gavriel on sale to carry in the meantime.
Now I want to buy an authentic. I've started checking the Row website nightly to see if any are in stock, and they sometimes are on there. They're impossible to find and that is saving my wallet. I figured I can always upgrade to the 17 and tell my coworkers that I wanted to be able to wear it over my shoulder. I got a promotion so it's not too crazy of an idea. UPDATE: my partner successfully talked me out of dropping $5k on a bag I technically already own. Instead, I bought a pebbled leather taupe Margaux 17 from Weipan factory from Amelia. She says it's the best quality so my hopes are.... reservedly high? It arrives tomorrow and I want to test it to give y'all my comprehensive thoughts on how it compares. I don't recommend the saddle leather, especially in this color, from either Kata or Ref Only so far.
TL;DR: Don’t get the saddle leather! Don't get this tawny brown! Go with Kata for accuracy in pebbled or suede! Dark brown or black are your safest colors. BUT if you're hearts on the saddle, for reference store's is a great quality option if you're not surrounded by the Row obsessives like me.
Lol I also saw a very bad rep with multiple layers showing through on the side in soho last weekend. Stay vigilant ladies. Keep on repping.

Is The “Red Pill” A Psyop To Make Men Gay?
If you’re actually straight, why do you seem to hate women so much?
Have you ever read some random “hot take” on social media and wondered why people are so insistent on oversharing and, as a result, posting their Ls? Nine times out of ten I read a “red pill” post, my eyebrows raise in (well warranted) judgment. I mean, I thought this community was meant to productively unpack and push back against regressive feminist beliefs.
Whether known by the “manosphere” or the “red pill movement,” this cohort of chronically online individuals is conditioning men (and women!) to act no different from radical, reactionary feminists. Whereas radical feminists can inadvertently produce bitter, lesbian women, lately, it seems like “alpha” red pillers have similarly regressed into pushing behaviors that divide the sexes and, frankly, seem somewhat gay. Is this rejection of the opposite sex a psyop to control the population? Or is it just an unintended consequence of narrow-minded romantic advice? Let’s discuss.
The Manosphere’s Descent into Spiritual Homosexuality
On March 19, “female Andrew Tate” Hannah Pearl Davis, known by her screen name Pearl, retweeted a series of photos of “actual trans women” who the original poster said “look better than the average ovary owner.” Pearl agreed with this sentiment and, in her retweet, said, “I hate to say this but trans but [sic] more effort into their appearance than most American women.”
Her reasoning? She made the broad, sweeping statement that males identifying as transgender women aren’t fat, wear dresses, have long hair, and have no visible tattoos while – I guess – she’s comfortable alleging that actual females don’t do this. She added, “Men do everything better I swear.”
Anyone familiar with her tired schtick understands that she probably doesn’t believe that males make better “women” than females do, but Pearl is a dyed-in-the-wool provocateur who drives up her engagement rate on social media by regularly posting inflammatory content. She baits people with rage. And nothing great is accomplished.
Co-founder and editor-in-chief of Reduxx, Anna Slatz, responded to Pearl’s misogynist take by saying she was “dropping another quarter in the ‘redpill is a psyop trying to make men homosexual’ jar.”
This same sentiment has been shared by many online commentators skeptical of the new manosphere movement, like Alexander of DatePsych, who said “the red pill is 95% daytime television tier gossip,” or Allie Beth Stuckey, who said “the line between the ‘red pill’ movement and homosexuality is so thin these days. … Like just admit you’re simply not attracted to women and are grossed out by them! No need to shroud your woman-hating in faux masculinity.”
In the past, Slatz has said that the end game of this new manosphere is homosexuality because only other men could love and understand their fellow man, even going so far as to call it “spiritual homosexuality.” Why? It would appear that many red pill teachings tell men to go against their biological nature to seek companionship from a woman.
At the same time that the manosphere instructs men to isolate themselves from women, our modern beauty industry standardizes womanhood into a cut-and-paste, unnatural aesthetic. Think the Karjenner clan and other look-alikes, whose slick, plastic-y appearance can only be achieved through the use of expensive facelifts, cosmetic fillers, Botox, and makeup. I mean, does Dylan Mulvaney, a biological male identifying as a transgender woman, look all that different from biological females like Megan Fox?
Anyway, red pillers often tout aphorisms about how women act – how our natural behavior is antithetical to them being the most alpha version of themselves. Couple that with the image of femininity they’re sold by Karjenner-looking women, which is this cookie-cutter, shallow representation of real beauty, and it’s no wonder why they’ve become so divorced from reality. Red pillers aren’t the same as incels (involuntary celibates), however, and many are proud of their high body counts. They think they’ve transcended normal relationships but still feel the desire to get casually intimate with women. This argument is as follows: Maybe if they grow so comfortable with male companionship, femininity becomes shallow and standardized, and rates of transgenderism are on the rise, then these men will prefer to satisfy their biological urges with womanfaced men.
Will that actually happen? Perhaps not. If you close your laptop and lock your phone, you won’t find much “manosphere” influence in the real world. I’d wager that most people you pass in your daily commute or on trips to the grocery store have no idea what “the red pill” even is.
But this train of thought is still quite pervasive. Andrew Tate reached mainstream audiences with messages just as toxic as feminism, but quickly became censored and, in many cases, fully deplatformed. Attempting to find original clips of his alpha platitudes proves quite difficult since so much of his content has been purged from regular search engines and social media search features.
His X/Twitter account, however, is still alive and kicking. Some of the sentiments he shares really seem sus when put into this conspiracy theory of sorts that this is all just some psyop to make men gay or just outright miserable.
“As a man, you were not destined to be happy. You were destined to build the world. TO CREATE. TO DO. You were designed to make your women and children happy, not BE happy,” Tate tweeted on January 30, 2024.
What good does it do to tell men they shouldn’t ever be happy? Should men work themselves to burnout, knowing that male suicide rates are dangerously high? Why stunt the human experience just to uphold some pseudo-religious lifestyle?
“Men want to work. Women want ‘fun’. Analyse ‘fun’ in this world. What is fun? It’s evil. It’s haram. Real men want to build. Women only want to feel good at the expense of the world. Adam gave Eve EVERYTHING. What did she do?” Tate tweeted on January 25, 2024.
Since when do we operate off blanket statements like men only want to work and women only want to feel good? These types of platitudes come from an unrelenting obsession with evolutionary psychology. The manosphere has taken a truly eye-opening scientific discipline and stretched it thin, making a total joke out of a theoretical approach to seek ancestral reasoning for human psychological adaptations.
I Thought We All Agreed – Don’t Blindly Trust the “Science”
Tate didn’t create this model, but he sure popularized it for the modern viewer. Back in 2013, when the manosphere was in its adolescence and was better known as the “pick up artist” (PUA) community, many within its grasp overused scientific research and findings from evolutionary psychologists and behavioral ecologists to turn the dating market into an easily digestible game they swore they could win. Geoffrey Miller, an evolutionary psychologist, penned an op-ed in Wired during this time about his astonishment that PUAs were taking his book The Mating Mind and using it to validate their sexual stereotypes. PUA antics online even got so popular they managed to earn their own critical entry in the Anti-Defamation League’s (ADL) Glossary of Extremism and Hate.
The PUA handbook sounds pretty familiar, if you’ve ever heard or read anything from Tate, Pearl, Sneako, or others. “The seduction community hybridized a Darwinian fatalism about motives (men are hard-wired to seek casual sex, women are hard-wired to be choosy) with a self-help optimism about improving one's sexual charisma,” Miller wrote.“Science-minded singles have new levels of self-consciousness – not just as people, but as fitness displayers, mate choosers, gene replicators, and social primates.”
But Miller echoed the warning of author and dating consultant David DeAngelo, who said, “PUAs run the risk of becoming dependent on the techniques and shortcuts that, on average, tend to increase dating success. Many of them are like a person who wants to learn a new language, so they learn 100 words then stop and use only those 100 words forever."
Even evolutionary psychologists or behavioral ecologists will admit, however, that science is fallible. Therefore, we can’t just base all of our decisions on these pseudoscientific competitive strategies. One such expert, Macken Murphy, discussed this on Chris Williamson’s Modern Wisdom podcast. Murphy noted how some people will weaponize studies – like preferences for female BMIs or male facial hair, for example – despite there being many mixed results across cultural contexts. There may be more modest preferences than universal ones, he said.
This doesn’t mean to throw the baby out with the bath water, but perhaps instead of treating specific studies like they are fully factual doctrines, evolutionary insights should be used as points of discussion and food for thought.
This is why, in my reporting on scientific studies for Evie, I don’t make Pearl-esque assertions that misconstrue how humans actually operate. Correlations don’t always equal causations, and evolutionary insights can only serve as a fraction of our understanding of attraction and behavior. But, as cultural commentator and documentarian Lauren Southern so accurately said, red pillers are “attempting to turn understanding women into a science, how they work, how to control them, or just an outlet for bitterness over lost connection or lack thereof.” This new manosphere wouldn’t exist “without an obsession around women,” Southern stated.
Anti-Feminist Women Need To Watch Out for This Sexist Trap
Much of the advice pushed on women by red pill circles only further divides the sexes. “Women are not prepared for work. That’s fine. You need a man and you need to obey him and have his children. There’s no other way out of slavery. Let men struggle and war, we’re built for it. Get a rich man. Then add VALUE to his life so he doesn’t replace you. Do it while young and hot. Hurry,” Tate tweeted on October 21, 2023.
Beyond extrapolating evolutionary psychology or behavioral ecology studies to the extreme, I don’t know where the manosphere gets this idea that women somehow aren’t prepared to work. Haven’t women always worked in some capacity? Maybe we weren’t breadwinning CEOs back in the day, but the notion that women shouldn’t work beyond domestic roles is truly a product of modern times. The idyllic vision of husband and wife was curated throughout the early to mid-20th century and romanticized through widely marketed, dreamy depictions of the fulfilled homemaker.
Women in the upper Paleolithic were documented as having joined the hunt in some circumstances alongside the men. Archaeologists have found that some prehistoric women were so physically strong their upper arm strength was over a quarter stronger than today’s elite rowers who train for peak physical fitness.
"They're ancient working moms," said Brigitte Holt, an anthropologist who discussed these archaeological findings in an interview with NPR, adding that these women were likely "hoeing, planting, harvesting, chopping wood, grinding grain and getting water – and all this while raising small children."
Women in the Middle Ages in Europe were documented as being shopkeepers, midwives, blacksmiths, and even ironmongers. Before Islam, gender roles in ancient Mesopotamia were much more egalitarian to the extent that women in Sumer, for instance, could be a priest or a doctor, own real estate, and even act as a judge.
We shouldn’t underestimate women’s contributions to the labor force simply because more modern societal structures have afforded us the luxury of less stressful work. What good does it do to unnecessarily stunt ourselves when we’ve got just as much brain power to perform specialized tasks as men?
“No men do not need women outside of reproduction. Not true. Society would function fine. Men build the world. Women are meant to pass on culture. But now in 2023 women have ruined the culture,” Pearl tweeted on June 23, 2023.
Again, all I’m gathering when I read these platitudes or watch their ragebait TikTok clips – like Pearl’s takes on women destroying men’s legacies, emasculating their husbands “every day,” or losing the ability to even find a “high value” man after hitting the so-called wall – is that these people somehow, magically know better than all us normies.
Closing Thoughts
Why disparage women for aging – as both sexes will? Why disparage men for wanting real love and companionship? This subsection of the manosphere that boils relationships down to a sexual transaction for the continuation of the human race is really bizarre.
Marriage isn’t a death sentence for men or for women, no matter what Pearl, Tate, or their sycophants spread on social media. So, I can’t blame people for thinking that this messaging is meant to encourage men to go gay or just truly “go their own way.”

2024.05.11 15:45 Historical-Milk-1339 A Dead Space newcomer's thoughts of the remake.

I finished Dead Space for the first time yesterday, which is the remake version. After playing this game for about 3 days or so, here's my verdict.....I like it! As someone who isn't really big on horror movies or games, I'm quite fond of my experience and figured it's only right that I give a brief review for it.
First up is the gameplay, which is probably the most important aspect. I find the overall gameplay very engaging and interesting in how you need to cut off the limbs of necromorphs as your best way off killing them. Although stomping them on the ground, burning them with a flamethrower or even punching a necromorph in the face will also work, but those aren't as effective. Speaking of different methods, I also like the game's roster of weapons you can use like the ripper that fires round saws and the contact beam that acts like a sweet laser gun that melts a nercromorph's limbs off. Another good feature is how the game forces you to look around for ammunition and resources in order to stay alive and loaded. This actually reminds me of The Last of Us, even though Dead Space came first as an IP.
Then there's the atmosphere and presentation of the game. I gotta say.....it really doesn't hide how grim and horrific it is. I know there's fans who say the original has a better atmosphere than the remake. But after judging the remake as it's own thing, I firmly say it's great at being scary with how dark the lighting is. Like I constantly held a weapon in front of me in case some necromorph attacks me out of nowhere and because it's the only way to use your flashlight in the dark. But it's not just that, I also found a lot of grim intensity in audio logs and other optional collectibles that fleshes out the larger universe in Dead Space. Obviously I can't tell if EA Motive made these audio logs since I haven't played the original game, but listening to these logs was pretty unsettling and it's considerate of Motive that they added a feature that warns you of sensitive content.
Last positive thing I want to talk about are the characters. I'm not gonna go into spoiler territory, but I think the writing for the characters is pretty good in the remake. Each of them felt like they added something to the story, especially Isaac and his drive to see Nicole again. (I'm actually going to make two individual posts breaking down Isaac and Kindra Daniels at some point.) What happens to them in the end can be pretty tragic and messed up, which adds more to how gruesome this game is.
There are some negatives, like how the game isn't clear on what you're supposed to do sometimes. But there's nothing that ruined my experience and it's worthy of it's positive reputation. For now, I give Dead Space (the remake at least) somewhere above an 8/10. Hopefully it'll get better as I play New Game Plus and after getting trophies like beating the game using only the plasma cutter, which I might have to play on Story Difficulty to ensure I don't lose my hard work. Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments!

Manor Lords Reveals New Update Patch Notes
Developer Slavic Magic has rolled out a major patch for Manor Lords, addressing numerous fixes, balancing tweaks, and introducing new cosmetics, among other enhancements. This Manor Lords update, labeled version 0.7.960 and available on the experimental branch, brings significant changes to gameplay mechanics, aiming to improve the player experience.
Manor Lords is a medieval city-builder and real-time tactics game developed by Slavic Magic and published by Hooded Horse. Set in late 14th-century Franconia, the game combines city-building with tactical warfare across three modes focusing on growth and conquest. Players manage resources, supply chains, and settlements while facing internal and external threats, with historical accuracy enhancing the gameplay. Despite a delay to polish the game, Manor Lords became one of Steam's most anticipated releases with over three million wishlists.
Manor Lords’ patch notes for version 0.7.960 reveal a wide range of changes and improvements. One major addition is the introduction of the King's Tax to Manor Lords’ taxation system, an annual tax collected from all players, contributing to their liege. This mechanic aims to balance economic gameplay, discouraging players from accumulating excessive wealth without consequences. Additionally, adjustments to global/local trade options for Trading Posts, optimizations in farming mechanics, and enhancements in combat dynamics have been implemented.
In terms of gameplay and balance, the patch brings several notable changes to trading mechanics and resource management. Players have reported some Manor Lords’ bugs, such as Hildebolt's claims rate, the spawning of "None" people who refused to work, clogged Trading Posts, and the game getting stuck at the summary screen post-victory or defeat. Patch 0.7.960 addressed these bugs and introduced quality-of-life enhancements. It also rectified issues such as crop growth during winter, inefficient saw pits triggering storage problems, and market oversupply/undersupply systems.
Regarding Manor Lords’ cosmetics, the update includes the addition of a new patron saint banner graphic featuring St. Maurice, a visual representation of carried dead bodies, improved alignment of debris piles with ground slopes, and fixes for animation issues like the abrupt ending of the torch-throwing animation and armor clipping problems. Additionally, new variations of Manor Lords' upgraded retinue helmets and bodies, such as the Pointy bascinet and Coat of plates, have been introduced, along with increased precision for animal placement in stables and adjustments to idle poses for two-handed weapons.
The developer advises players to make a backup of their save files before switching to a beta version to avoid any potential issues. It offered simple steps for players to follow in order to access the Manor Lords experimental branch properly. As Manor Lords continues to evolve through updates and community feedback, players can expect a polished gameplay experience with patch 0.7.960.
Manor Lords Update v0.7.960 Patch Notes
Major Changes
The King's Tax (or Annual Royal Tax) This tax is collected annually from all players (main player and AI) and goes to your liege. It's counted per population and therefore should become a counterbalance for players who hoard huge wealth despite having non-optimized economies. [WIP] For now, the player can go in debt without consequence, but in the future, the player will lose the king's favor and eventually, the king's army will show up as enemies for players who refuse to pay. Global/Local Trade Switch for Trading Posts The player can now switch trade to "local only" in the trading post for each type of good if they want to use the trading post to exchange goods between their own regions but ignore the free merchants. For now, 2 trading posts (both regions) are still required to make it work. Employed traders will prioritize travel to the place with the best prices to commence trade, potentially including regions owned by other Lords. For now, I reduced the transport distance from the calculation to make it more predictable for the player where the traders will go (to the place with the best price). Regional wealth is still required for exchanging goods between regions with a trading post since I want to keep the regions as independent economic units which in my view a more realistic simulation of economy.
Gameplay & Balance
[Experimental] When consuming food, people will now pick a random food resource instead of eating food in a specific order. [Experimental] Fertility is no longer drained after crop growth reaches 100% so that always micromanaging early harvest is no longer a preferred strategy. Yield may still increase over 100% growth if max yield is not reached. [Experimental] When harvesting, the crops are directly added to the field inventory instead of the villager inventory. This was done to ensure that harvesting walk times aren't the main bottleneck for farming, especially for large fields. [Side note: moving harvest season to August is also possible in a future patch if needed] [Experimental] Prioritized Oxen plowing over transporting resources back to the granary & warehouse to reduce the ox walking back and forth from the plowed field every time a new batch of resources is available for transport. Plowing shed now adds 2 livestock worker slots. Lowered the rate of the Baron claiming regions and adjusted it to better reflect the game settings. Removed the worker camp upgrade - it was meant for colony regions and will be readded when they are properly implemented. Food-producing residential plots no longer stock up on their produce before they share with the marketplace. Increased sawpit log storage space to 5. [Experimental] When establishing a trade route, the merchants will no longer all spawn in the nearest tradepoint. Instead, the game will distribute the merchants to circle between various tradepoints in order to make building trading posts right on the edge of the region less optimal. Increased warbows ranged attack from 4 to 12. [Experimental] "Trade logistics" development branch now lowers the cost of new trade routes by 50% instead of clamping it at 25. [Experimental] Cost of opening new trade routes now scales exponentially with every opened trade route. [Experimental] Base cost of opening a trade route was increased from 12 to 20 (that is before the good value multiplier). [Experimental] When market is oversupplied, the player can still export stuff, although for much lower price. [Experimental] The price multiplier for oversupplied goods is now 0.75x for oversupplied and 0.5x for critically oversupplied. [Experimental] How fast market is oversupplied no longer depends on the value of goods because it punished having high value trade routes. Now the oversupply rates are equal for all good types. [Experimental] Better deals development branch reduces the foreign import tariff by 50% instead of removing it completely. [Experimental] Reduced ale consumption by 75% (around 1/3 per family per month). [Experimental] Made the building placement steepness limits harsher because the trading posts and churches often looked super janky on very sharp slopes. Soldiers no longer trigger "unburied bodies" approval factor when corpses are in their proximity. [Experimental] Hitching post is free again, to reduce chances of players getting stuck with no ox, no hitching post and no ability to order an ox.
Minor Changes
Applied the "mindfulness" system that was initially designed for the oxen to the free merchants. This system is used to reduce clumps and traffic jams. Moved the location of trades further off map to make sure there is some space for all the trade wagons even if the players place the trading post right on the edge of the map. If a trading post is clogged, traders are allowed to make transactions without entering the shed, as long as they are within the general building bounds. [Experimental] Changed default AA under DX11 to TAA. Added a spatialization update call when recruits are sneakily teleported home when rallied to ensure collisions are properly calculated after teleportation. Added a check for idle villagers to avoid hanging around the graveyard for random conversation since it looked weird. Made "is close to camera" value update on setting follow mode to make sure the game doesn't optimize animations or sound effects thinking the character is still far from the camera. Disabled fire damage for people who have water buckets and are actively firefighting + reduced the fire damage amount. When all resource visualization slots are "filled", villagers will transport to a random one instead of the first one found. This ensures less traffic jams for instance at the churchyard if all graves are "full" already. Firefighting villagers will now ignore anti-clogging behavior (waiting their turn at narrow pathfinding points). Added a "mourning period left" UI element in the residential panel to display how many days of mourning are left until the burgage plot can bring in more family members again. Added mourning icon to the building floater. Made sure mourning period is properly added to save data. After continuing the game after a victory the camera should go back to the player's main region instead of levitating over the map edge. [Experimental] Disabled the ability to quicksave during the game over / victory cinematic. Disabled the ability to manual save the game after being defeated & added a tooltip explaining why saves are disabled. Disabled quick save and autosave if game was lost. When ox gathers a log, it will prioritize immediately bringing it to the sawpit before bringing it to the logging camp unless construction reserve forbids it. Improved marketplace logistics efficiency and optimization. Tuned the AI retreat distances in an attempt to reduce how often its archers get into the loop of attack-retreat. Added the missing trading post building thumbnail. Minor unit in-town pathfinding updates. Swapped the old UE4 destructible system for a new, UE5 friendly, chaos based debris system. For now it's just used for chopped firewood cutter logs. Further tweaks to properly choose the right default AA/upscaler during the first time launch correctly for specific GPUs (e.g., RTX properly defaulting to DLSS). Added kings tax rate multiplier to the game setup settings. Due to mismatch in global market supply stock values, old saves (from builds 0.7.954-0.7.956) will have their market supply reset on loading. [Experimental] Due to changes in how food is consumed, a popup "Food consumed" may no longer appear if a building is selected while a food is being consumed from inventory. [Experimental] Made the sheep flock a bit more closely together to look more like a herd. Steepness limits no longer apply when placing rally points. Players can now rally their militia on fields and pastures. Trading posts will now display a price range for imports in case they can buy it both from other regions AND from foreign trade sources. Increased the sheep & lamb collision radius. Capped the number of workers who supply a single market stall at the same time to 2 to reduce markets getting completely clogged with the new upped market supply frequency. Further optimized the market supply functions to make late game towns run smoother. Optimized the function that searches for a friend to do idle tasks with (like conversations). Optimized the door opening animations. Increased the precision when checking whether a character is inside a building on fire and should take damage. Unified the currency icon in the mercenary company panel to make it clearer that you're paying with treasury and not regional wealth. Added accommodation call after fire is started and turns people homeless so that they can be reaccommodated to other available burgage plots immediately. Since almost all families have more than 1 family member, I made the "workplace/reassign" buttons aligned vertically instead of horizontally in the family list. Fixed old fonts being used in the family entry widgets.
Crashfixes
Fixed a crash when doing a sequence of livestock import, export and import, because "home" wasn't cleared properly during export and the same animal was reimported. Fixed a rare crash if a handcart fails to spawn, probably if the trading post was built so that part of it crosses the map edge. Fixed crash on startup if OpenXr sdk is installed. Bugfixes
Fixed victory status not resetting after starting a new game, leading to a game over screen not appearing if the player lost/won multiple games without turning the game off. Fixed crop transports not accounting for the farm work area. Fixed crops dying in the winter instead of actually increasing yield by absorbing nutrients from the snow as it was intended for winter crops. Fixed oxen sometimes "ghost plowing" a field when they are waiting on their guide. Fixed plow and ox sometimes misaligning on 12x game speed. Fixed farm workers not accounting for oxen plowing the farms in some situations, leading to a lot of unnecessary collisions on the field. Fixed crop rotation unplowing the fields. Fixed disbanded mercenary group becoming immediately available again after save/load cycle. Fixed the trading post export transactions not moving regional wealth between the regions correctly if owned by the same lord. Fixed paused taverns fulfilling the entertainment requirement. Fixed an attempt for never-ending fires if a fire was triggered after the building was already on fire. Fixed problem banners not erasing after an entity gets erased (for instance, an animal runs away and leaves a "not enough pasture space" banner). Fixed "update task" sometimes triggering before a character gets assigned their region. Fixed livestock sometimes being unaccommodated after order even though there is stable or pasture space due to being transferred to the region twice (once when buying and once when livestock merchant brings it to the building). Fixed livestock traders trading between on-map regions possibly sometimes paying twice because the ownership changing function was called both on pickup of livestock and on dropoff. Fixed the game getting stuck on the game summary screen infinitely after winning or losing the game. Fixed "none" people populating the town after a raid sometimes who just stand around waiting forever and possibly crash the game while reloading. Fixed the blurry desktop icon. Fixed the save/load menu header not translating after changing the language. Fixed dead animals triggering the mourning period in burgage plots, halting growth. Fixed mourning period halting homeless accommodation. Fixed migration/growth of family members ignoring the 30-day mourning period sometimes. Fixed the game getting stuck after you click "continue in sandbox" until any main tab is pressed. Fixed the front lighting not being visible in the retinue editor if bounced light approximation is turned to low or off. Fixed floating feedback text spawning during the cinematic mode. Fixed autosave triggering during the cinematic mode. Fixed "storage full" triggering for wrong buildings sometimes (for example, sawpit having 1/1 logs). Fixed attempt for oxen bringing too many logs to the sawpit and crossing the storage limit. Fixed free merchants sometimes getting stuck if a trading post was built so close to the edge that a portion of it was outside of any region bounds. Fixed horse wagon rotations getting a bit too wonky on slopes. Fixed a bug where a unit could no longer move due to being forever stuck in "waiting for pathfinding to finish" if another unit with a lower squadID got completely destroyed. Fixed the wrong yarn basket carrying animation. Fixed traders not importing from on-map regions even though the price is better than buying from tradepoints. Fixed farm workers & farm oxen stealing planks from fields which are getting "fenced up". Fixed "homeless" problem banner not disappearing after upgrading homeless camp to a worker camp. Fixed animals not getting removed from stable space / pasture space after death. Fixed animal corpses not disappearing over time. Added a dirty fix for families moving into homes but not registering correctly and not displaying in the UI, leading to a "secret" family living in one of the burgage plots. The reason is still unknown and being investigated.
Cosmetics
Added a new patron saint banner graphics: St Maurice. Added a carried dead body visualization. Made debris piles align to ground slope. Fixed the throw torch animation ending abruptly. New upgraded retinue helmet variation: Pointy bascinet. Fixed the armor clipping through the leg of the upgraded retinue puffy sleeve jupon body variation. New upgraded retinue body variation: Coat of plates. New upgraded retinue helmet variation: Hounskull bascinet with a gilded cover. Increased location precision for animals standing in the stables. Fixed the praying animation. Fixed the wrong door orientation for LV2 cottage variation B (with a planked gable). Adjusted the two-handed weapon default idle pose to have a more natural stance. New militia helmet variation - banded bascinet with a mail aventail. Fixed some mail armor variants clipping with helmets on T3 militia units (militia mail will get their own unique variations soon). Reworked lv2 granary model with proper animated doors.

Chritmas (Gothic Christmas)

Merry Chritmas (Gothic Element)

https://preview.redd.it/titibt5u5lzc1.png?width=2912&format=png&auto=webp&s=1c6141921d722830d496ad7865eabb895a15e8ee
Chritmas offers a fascinating blend of gothic and spooky elements with traditional Christmas and Yule traditions, centered around "Chrit Ghost," the gift-giving ghost. Here's an extended concept incorporating these themes:
  1. Chrit Ghost:
    • Chrit Ghost is a spectral figure cloaked in midnight black, with glowing eyes with moose skull and a hauntingly kind demeanor.
    • Instead of Santa Claus, Chrit Ghost is the benevolent spirit who visits homes on Chritmas Eve, leaving mysterious gifts under shadowy Chritmas trees.
  2. Decorations:
    • Gothic-inspired decorations adorn Chritmas trees, with dark ornaments like miniature coffins, black roses, and silver spiderwebs.
    • Candles flicker in eerie candelabras, casting dim, flickering light reminiscent of old haunted mansions.
    • Wreaths made of dried black roses and thorny branches hang on doors, adding a touch of macabre elegance.
  3. Feast of Shadows:
    • The Chritmas feast, known as the Feast of Shadows, features dark delicacies like blood-red velvet cake, roasted black garlic potatoes, and mulled wine with a hint of cloves and cinnamon.
    • Tables are draped in midnight blue and adorned with candelabras, skull-shaped goblets, and tarnished silverware.
  4. Chritmas Carols:
    • Carols take on a haunting tone, with lyrics that weave tales of ghosts, witches, and ancient mysteries. Songs like "O Come, All Ye Spirits" and "The Haunted Bells of Chritmas" set the mood.
    • Musicians play eerie melodies on violins, harpsichords, and haunting flutes, adding to the spectral ambiance.
  5. Chritmas Eve Rituals:
    • Families gather around a crackling fireplace to tell ghost stories, sharing tales of apparitions, restless spirits, and mysterious happenings.
    • Children leave offerings of dark chocolates and dried fruits for Chrit Ghost, hoping to receive ethereal gifts in return.
  6. Gifts from the Otherworld:
    • Chrit Ghost leaves gifts that reflect the gothic and mystical themes of Chritmas, such as antique pocket watches, spellbooks filled with secrets, and enchanted crystals.
    • Handcrafted items like gothic jewelry, leather-bound journals, and ornate masks hold special meaning in this ethereal exchange.
  7. Yule Traditions:
    • Yule celebrations intertwine with Chritmas, incorporating ancient pagan customs such as burning Yule logs, decorating with holly and mistletoe, and honoring the rebirth of the sun.
    • The Chritmas tree becomes a symbol of life and renewal, adorned with symbols of nature, magic, and the cycle of seasons.
  8. Spirit of Chritmas:
    • Chritmas embraces the beauty of darkness and light, blending gothic aesthetics with the warmth of togetherness, generosity, and the joy of sharing stories and traditions.
    • It's a time to honor the mysteries of the night, the spirits of the past, and the magic that surrounds us in both the seen and unseen realms.
Chritmas, with its Gothic and spooky twist on traditional Chritmas and Yule customs, invites us to embrace the enchanting shadows and mysteries that lie beyond the veil, celebrating the beauty of the unknown and the timeless spirit of giving and connection.

Chritmas Cake (Traditonal Cake)

Creating a Chritmas Cake with a black cranberry theme sounds intriguing! Here's a recipe for a delicious Black Cranberry Cake that combines the rich flavors of dark ingredients with the festive touch of cranberries:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup blackberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the Dry Ingredients:
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  3. Prepare the Fruit Mixture:
    • In a separate bowl, place the blackberries and dried cranberries. Pour the boiling water over the berries and let them soak for about 10 minutes. Drain the berries and set aside.
  4. Make the Cake Batter:
    • In the bowl of a stand mixer or using a hand mixer, beat the vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a smooth batter forms.
    • Fold in the soaked blackberries and cranberries into the batter gently until evenly distributed.
  5. Bake the Cake:
    • Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
    • Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Decorate (Optional):
    • Once the cake has cooled, you can dust the top with powdered sugar for a snowy effect, adding a festive touch to your Chritmas cake.
Slice and serve your delicious Black Cranberry Chritmas Cake as a delightful dessert for your Chritmas celebrations. The combination of dark flavors and tangy cranberries is sure to be a hit!

Cobweb Tree Topper (DIY)

A Cobweb Tree Topper for Chritmas adds a spooky and gothic touch to your holiday decor. Here's how you can make one:
Materials Needed:
  1. Black or dark-colored wire
  2. Black feathers or faux spider webs
  3. Small plastic spiders or spider ornaments
  4. Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  5. Black spray paint (optional)
  6. Wire cutters
  7. Ribbon or string for hanging (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Create the Base:
    • Using the wire, shape a cone or pyramid structure to serve as the base of your cobweb tree topper. You can start with a smaller cone and gradually widen it as you go up.
    • Secure the wire pieces together using hot glue to form a sturdy base.
  2. Add the Cobweb Design:
    • Take the black feathers or faux spider webs and drape them over the wire structure. You can create a cobweb-like pattern by crisscrossing the feathers or webs in a random, intricate manner.
    • Secure the feathers or webs in place with hot glue as needed to ensure they stay attached to the wire base.
  3. Enhance with Spiders:
    • Attach small plastic spiders or spider ornaments to the cobweb design using hot glue. Place them strategically to create a creepy, crawling effect on the cobweb tree topper.
    • You can also add some larger spiders crawling down the sides of the wire structure for a more dramatic look.
  4. Optional Spray Paint:
    • If desired, you can spray paint the entire cobweb tree topper with black paint to give it a darker, more uniform appearance. Allow the paint to dry completely before proceeding.
  5. Attach Hanging Mechanism (Optional):
    • If you want to hang the cobweb tree topper from the tree, attach a ribbon or string to the top of the wire structure using hot glue. Make sure it's securely attached and can support the weight of the topper.
  6. Place on Top of the Tree:
    • Once your cobweb tree topper is complete and any paint or glue has dried, carefully place it on top of your Chritmas tree. Ensure it's balanced and securely attached to the tree's tip.
Your Cobweb Tree Topper for Chritmas is now ready to add a touch of gothic elegance and spooky charm to your holiday decorations. It's sure to stand out and create a unique focal point for your Chritmas festivities.

2024.05.10 01:11 rem_10 9 Month old baby, 6 Dogs and an always tired/sleeping partner, AITAH?

My (30m) boyfriend and I (36f) have been together for 5 years and just had our first child (10month, m).
I have always worked throughout our entire relationship and we have always split the cost for rent and other living expenses. We worked great jobs seasonally out of state, him as a chef and me as an event coordinator and floral designer.
We moved back to his home town once our season was ended and we found out I was pregnant. He got his job back and makes enough to pay for our house and utilities. I am a sahm now, and have transitioned into this new role very easily as I come from a large family with lots of kids.
He works from 4am-12:30pm 5 days a week. So obviously he comes home tired from being up so early and ends up falling asleep almost immediately most days, which I totally understand. Most days I just let him doze off wherever he ends up falling asleep at. I keep the baby away and entertained while he rests, sometimes for hours, like 2-4 hours some days. Some days he comes home feeling good and doesn't fall asleep till later in the day, but it just depends.
We also have 6 dogs which I care daily for as well as make our own dog food. We have a 2 story house that I keep very tidy, which is not easy with a little one attached to me, 6 dogs, and an always tired partner.
I also work remotely 4 hours a day. I pay all of my own bills as well as insurance and internet and any random things we need or I want. Needless to say, my days are very busy and I never feel like there is enough time in the day.
The issue is that he doesn't seem to understand how much I do in a day and is quick to get frustrated if he has to do much of anything besides cook or gets angry when I try to express myself on how frustrated or tired I am. Again I do about 90% of the household chores which includes, laundry for all 3 of us, feeding the dogs, keeping the kitchen clean, changing beds, gathering trash, picking up after the dogs in the yard, paying the bills, feeding and caring for the baby, grocery shopping, setting up any appointments etc.
He does help with some of these chores when he feels like it, but the majority of the responsibility's falls on me throughout the week.
I am also in a legal battle over my moms land as it was trying to be taken from me illegally thru false deeds after she passed away. So I am constantly having deadlines, completing and sending paperwork and battling attorneys and the judge as I am working pro se. It has been almost 3 years and it is exhausting in every way as I have no previous knowledge in law. He has no idea how much I have on my plate.
I also suffer from insomnia, so even if I am exhausted, most of the time I can't sleep.
So I do chores at night. Work on the computer, clean up whatever needs cleaned from the evening, get his coffee ready for the morning, make sure he has his work clothes washed and ready, take care of the baby through the night since I am still breastfeeding etc.
He tends to fall asleep early every night. Yesterday I had been so busy with laundry, dishes, the baby, work etc. He came home and went straight to sleep as he had an appt that afternoon. I asked him to watch the baby when he got back so I could catch up on some work online and he took him for about an hour and a half before I started to hear the baby crying and I went to check on them. The baby was bored and tired so I logged out and took the baby, irritated because he had not even bothered to change his diaper and it was very full.
He had not had to change one diaper that whole day. Most days he only has to change his diaper once, sometimes none at all.
He ended up falling asleep again shortly after, around 730, and I did not see him till this morning when he came in huffing because i was still asleep at 8am after we had planned to go pick things from the orchard.
I did not go to sleep at 730pm like him, but instead after doing my night chores, working on the computer a bit, getting the baby ready for bed and finally to sleep, made and baked some granola, all while racing back upstairs quietly to the baby whenever he woke up. I finally came up to bed around 230. I obviously was tired and had not slept nearly as long as him. I asked him to come back in 10 mins as I was really tired. 10 mins later he comes in huffing even more, saying how I guess we aren't going since all I wanted to do was sleep like always and how I can never get up in the morning especially if we have something planned.
I exploded and told him I had not slept all day and night like he had, in which he questioned me on what I had even done last night. He ended up taking the baby and now obviously awake and upset I could not go back to sleep, so I got on my computer to work while I didn't have the baby to worry about.
They came home about an hour later and I hear him cooking downstairs. I went down shortly after because I could hear the baby calling for me, just to find that he had only made himself food. I was immediately hurt and even more angry. He started yelling that it was just f*****g eggs and if I really wanted some he would make them for me. I obviously refused and grabbed the baby and sat down and cried out of hurt and frustration.
We have been fighting about a bush in our yard that him and his dad have been wanting to hack away at and I have been telling him that I will do it because they cut her back to much last time. I have been planting flowers and vegetables in the front patio where the bush is, and have made a very beautiful little area for the baby to enjoy and explore, and we do so every morning and night. I keep it very pretty and the bush adds a beautiful touch to it. I am the only one who waters and tends to anything out there so I feel I should have a say in how it is cut. But because I am so busy it has been hard for me to go out and prune it besides a few branches here and there.
Out of anger he went to the garage and got the tree cutter and went and hacked away at it as I stood there holding the baby and crying. There is another big tree in the backyard that literally slams into our bedroom window anytime it is windy and I told him to cut that tree since it is really the one causing damage and issues, and he said that is not his responsibility and wants to just cut this one. It feels like it is just to upset me.
After coming back in he started taking the dishes from the dishwasher and slamming them around, which he does often when he is the slightest bit frustrated or angry. I finally just came upstairs to put the baby down for a nap and to get away from him.
I feel so overlooked for all of the effort and love I put into this home. I have so many sleepless nights as I have so much on my shoulders. He constantly holds it over my head that he pays the bills even though this is the first time in our whole relationship that he has had to do that and it is literally because I am raising his son. I am a very attentive parent and try not to be on my phone or glued to the tv so our son has my full attention. Or I put him in his carrier and carry him on my back so I can get all of the chores done while he is with me.
We constantly fight about how much he scrolls social media while is son is playing by himself or crying for me. I feel so sad and hurt and like all of my hard work and effort is for nothing. He does comment on how nice things look and sometimes I am able to go take a quick nap during the day.
But I am exhausted and tapped out in every way.
AITAH?
I just want to go home and be around people who appreciate me and what type of woman and mother I am. I do love him, but some days I feel like it would be best if we just went our separate ways. He is a good dad and can be a good partner, I have seen it. But I need consistency, love, tenderness, and someone who tries to see when I am struggling and to help or hold me. I feel so alone sometimes and so unseen and unheard. Is it me? AITAH?

2024.05.10 00:36 RVAIsTheGreatest Thoughts on Quinten Post

Former Boston College C, 5th year Senior Quinten Post, saw his collegiate career end in the second round of the NIT for the Eagles, who finished with 20 wins for the first time since 2010/11. He finished second team All-ACC and on the ACC All Defensive team and averaged 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1.7 blocks a game.
Post is originally from the Netherlands, is a member of their national team, and began his collegiate career at Mississippi State before transferring to Boston College for his junior year. He was a bit of a disappointment at Mississippi State, he was viewed as someone who could contribute in the front court for the Bulldogs but ended up being a bit player and never really cracking the rotation.
He blossomed for the Eagles over the last two seasons. He had a foot injury that cost him the first half of his 4th season but was still named Most Improved Player in 2023 in the ACC. He's a 7 footer that's very mobile for his size. His mobility and coordination as an athlete defines his game in a lot of ways. He's got a lot of feel to go along with it. Good length, too, which he uses to his advantage on both ends of the floor. Post has a decent frame, and can stand to add some more muscle going forward.
Post shot 43% from 3 the last two seasons, on ~3 attempts a game each season. His jumper is very mechanically sound and smooth. Quick release, fantastic balance, good extension. He can make C&S jumpers from 3 and midrange, takes a lot of PnP 3's, and can even take and make 3's off screens. He'll relocate and drift to the perimeter, catch and nail 3's. He'll leak to the perimeter out of off ball screens. He has a good sense of knowing where to be on the floor and a lot of diversity as a 3 point shooter. He's a high leverage PnP shooter. He's a very good screener...he creates space with his screens which aids him as a PnP shooter, and he knows how to quickly peel off those screens and make himself available for 3's in the PnP. He's a very fluid PnP shooter and he has pretty deep range.
He will also slip and dive to the rim off ball screens. Ghost screens where he'll either drift to the 3 line, roll to the FT line and hit the midrange jumper, or cut to the rim. Lots of different flare screen, back screen and other actions involving Post. Both as a handler and as a shooter. His feel, his mobility, and his shooting talent allow him to be someone you can utilize in a multitude of ways as an offensive player and we saw that with the Eagles.
Post will make some bad passes and will loose the ball in traffic at times or when looking to execute advanced moves but he is certainly a good playmaker for a big overall. Boston College often used him at the top of the key as a facilitator and leveraged his quick processing abilities and skills as a 7 footer to their advantage. He was used in the DHO a ton. He can grab and go and bring the ball up the floor. His screening ability, his shooting ability, and his ability to put the ball on the deck make him a great option as a DHO big. He very rarely doesn't execute a clean handoff. Lots of flaring out for 3's out of DHO's. Re-screens occurred a fair bit. Boston College's offense in general had a decent amount of motion and so much of was centered around Post from the top of the key. Fake handoffs, where he'd drive to the basket, or make the pass to the cutting teammate to the rim.
Post is a talented skip passer. Makes some turnovers this way, but also sees a lot of benefit to the tune of open shots from the perimeter with defenders caught napping. Baseball passes, bounce passes, he can do it all. High-low passes from the top of the key, can really sling the ball around from the post. He has very good vision as a passer and very good timing. His accuracy isn't always the best nor the decision making but the passing instinct/talent is clear. Hits cutters from the key out of ball screen actions, hits cutters when driving to the rim, hits dump off men, will spray the ball to the outside. Will dribble out of double teams and find the open man for 3's. He makes quick decisions at the right time as a passer more often than not and that creates open looks for teammates, but his lack of great athleticism means he can sometimes get overwhelmed as a passer and turn it over. He'll swing the ball, screen, and pop out for the 3. He'll find open spots on the floor from midrange and he'll fill the lane and make himself available for ballhandlers. He's got a tremendous amount of feel as an offensive talent.
Post is a good scorer on the block. He can at times struggle with strength when looking to score on the block, but the skill level is high. He doesn't waste dribbles. Very quick with his spin move, he has excellent footwork in the post. Can make hook shots with both hands and has very nice touch and good range. He can use power and bully ball too. He will turn drives into post ups and score. He's decisive with what he wants to do in the post. He'll be more deliberate or quick depending on the circumstance and matchup, but is usually very decisive in any circumstance. He's not a black hole---he has counters with different pivots in his disposal if his initial move is taken away and he is a solid passer out of the post. He gets the ball up quickly at the rim, which makes it hard to contest his shot.
He's good at sealing guys and making himself an easy target. He's also good at sealing his man for drivers slashing to the rim. He didn't always get the pass from a teammate even though he was open or had the mismatch. Don't think his guards did him any favors at Boston College. As said above, he can be pushed out of the paint by stronger big men and forced out of the post-up. He does a good job not forcing the issue if it's not working but there were some matchups he had to rely more on the face-up game and his shooting, and his post game neutralized. He doesn't have pop from a standstill so combined with his average strength, there were times he could get stonewalled, and there were times he went up soft and missed at the rim on post-ups or dump offs.
Post's mobility makes him someone who can fluidly catch and go out of the PnR and finish. His passing talent off the roll makes him a very good PnR player. He will look to self-create and drive to the rim off rips from the perimeter, off face up drives in the mid post. He prefers going left but can also go right effectively. He's got a nice crossover in his disposal. He'll head fake and attack. He also will use the spin move when facing up and looking to finish. He isn't incredibly quick as a driver. He has nice timing and is usually pretty aggressive when going downhill. He will create contact with that aggression and shoots over 80% from the line. Since he lacks a degree of explosiveness he doesn't always have the ability to create clean separation when facing up and driving and thus he isn't quite as efficient here as he is in other parts of his offensive game, he has some bad misses and possessions as a face up guy. His ball skills at his size, fluidity, and decisiveness allow him to play quicker than he is, so he is definitely not incapable.
He runs the floor really well, making him a good transition finisher. His ability to both push the ball in transition off rebounds and be a play finisher in transition is an added feather in his cap as an all-around offensive talent. He'll seal defenders when in transition and find easy baskets around the rim. He can hit trail 3's. Post contributes in pretty much every way as an offensive talent.
Post is a good rebounder as well. Not quite an elite one as he can miss out on some rebounds in his area and not be the best in grabbing boards outside of it, but he does box out, pursue balls in the air, and his length really helps. He isn't incapable of grabbing boards outside of his area, due to his length and large catch radius. He's got a good motor, which also helps him on the boards.
Post was All Defense in the ACC this year but watching the games tells a bit more of a mixed story. He's a disciplined drop defender and understands positioning. He gets quite a few blocks as a drop defender. He's good at forcing his opponents to take the shots he wants them to take. He plays quite stiff as a drop defender, but he keeps his hands up. He's good with verticality, and the combination of his length+verticality means he's a decent rim protector as a drop defender.
He's a guy who's gonna be a magnet for pull up shooters and someone who struggles a bit with PnP guys. He can defend the rim but he isn't great at contesting jumpers and isn't great at rotating to shooters. He is OK at playing ball and man as a PnR defender, but he isn't elite at it. He can be a little too slow at times to recover to his man. He will show high and hedge hard at times and can be effective doing so. He hustles back to man when he does, which can prevent open looks but he doesn't have the quickness to recover in every possession when he isn't in a deep drop. Guys who quickly slip to the rim can cause him issues, and his awareness and rotation ability is good, but not elite either. He will ball watch a little and he doesn't have elite instincts as a weakside rotater. Rotates too late at times and will pick up fouls or give up baskets. He will often not challenge the shot in these situations and put his hands up instead, but overall he's more often than not going to make the right rotation and can force misses. He can pick up a few weakside blocks here and there but most of the blocks he picks up are at the rim in the drop, or when picking up a driver slashing to the rim on the switch in the drop. He's not a weakside rim protector.
He isn't a switch guy at all, even though he did end up switching a little bit this year at BC. He doesn't have the feet to be a switch guy and really struggles with double moves. He's an adequate post defender....some guys are simply too strong for him and he can struggle with quick moves in the post, but he's scrappy, he's good at staying down and staying with his opponent's moves for the most part, and his length allows him to get a few on ball blocks on occasion.
Quinten Post is 24 years old, but his fantastic season at Boston College and talent he displays at his size saw him nab a Combine Invite last week. Teams are intrigued with his skill set and fluidity at 7'0. Offensively, he really checks the boxes for what teams like out of modern bigs. Defensively, things are a bit less rosy, but he is a competitive guy and someone who seems coachable and willing to put the work in to maximize his abilities. I can see why teams like him and think an NBA future is definitely possible for him. What do you all think about Quinten Post?

2024.05.09 21:56 rem_10 AITAH For being angry with my partner for the unequal responsabilities in life

Again I do about 90% of the household chores which includes, laundry(washing, folding, hanging up, putting away for both of us and the baby) dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping, watering plants, making dog food, feeding the dogs, keeping the kitchen clean, changing beds, gathering trash, picking up after the dogs in the yard, paying the bills, feeding and caring for the baby, grocery shopping, setting up any appointments etc. He does help with some of these chores on occasion, but the majority of the responsibility's falls on me throughout the week. Is it me? AITAH?

2024.05.09 13:35 largedragonwithcats Does the Dog Die, but for books?

So I'm super into the horror movie genre, am starting to read horror novels, and can tolerate a lot of things - but not harm to animals (especially cats). I couldn't even get halfway through the Pet Semetary movie (which... I should've known I couldn't but that's a story for another day).
I had The Troop by Nick Cutter on my to read list, until I saw some people on this subreddit chatting about how horrible and unnecessary the animal abuse scenes he concocts are, especially in that particular novel.
So is there a "Does the Dog Die?" list, but for books?
Edit: Apparently this post has struck a nerve with some people. Firstly, huge thank you to the people (the majority of you) who have come kindly with suggestions, empathy, and recommendations. Couple of things I want to address, since some of yall are coming for me in the comments;
1- I asked for a recommendation. If you have nothing kind or valuable to add to the recommendations I've been receiving, kick rocks downstream and leave me at my picnic.
2- Yes, it bothers me more when an animal suffers/dies than when a person suffers/dies. This is not an uncommon feeling, considering the very existence of doesthedogdie. There have been multiple people adding their experiences and thoughts on the matter, why they think this might be. In the same way I don't understand how people are afraid of flying, even though I understand the reasoning for it. I'll just take them at their word for it. It's not a big deal.
3- No, I don't think this makes me better than anyone else, that's a whole other sentence you've concocted in your head, and it's not even a sentence about me.
4- I didn't say the animal abuse scenes are unnecessary. That was what multiple people in this very subreddit said about those scenes in the book, and I will not read it, so I'm inclined to believe them.
5- Horror isn't solely slashers or gore. I personally prefer paranormal/monster horror to slashers, and even when I watch a slasher film, I only really like the campy 80s style.
Just like... be kind to each other, give each other benefit of the doubt, and don't take things so personally.

2024.05.09 04:51 Empty-Age-9040 Should the devs add a local Audio Cutter/Converter/Player to the R1 (MP3, WAV etc)

I've downloaded audio cutter apps on my phone and used sketchy free online tools to increase the decibels of an audio file or convert files into other formats, but these services and apps can be nefarious; maybe these could be features of the R1, and it would give R1 additional use cases. Adding an audio player would also give the device more purpose.
How the audio trimmer would work:
Me: Sends the R1 an audio file via Bluetooth
R1: "What would you like me to do with this MP3 file?"
Me: "I want to trim this MP3."
R1: Opens local audio trimmer tool
Me: Uses the scroll wheel to select the start point, then the button is pressed to select the end point, followed by pressing the button a second time to complete the process.
R1: "I'm cutting your audio file now." pause while the file is processed "Your audio file is ready; what would you like me to do now?"
Me: "Send it back to my phone" or "Add it to my music library" or "Convert it to MP3 format"

2024.05.09 03:42 ItinerantDoGooder Installing solar in a day for under $350 - Complete how-to guide

Installing solar in a day for under $350 - Complete how-to guide
I posted this to the Casita Forum as well but since I know different people prefer different sites (and Reddit is Google-searchable), I thought I'd post it here as well. I hope it helps others.
We just bought a 2018 Casita LD and the first project was to get some solar on the roof to keep the battery topped up. Having built out a camper van a few years ago, this wasn't new to me but I’m by no means an expert, just a well-researched amateur. All in all, this was a pretty simple install and relatively cheap. I know there were a number of solar threads but I know when I was starting out how helpful it was to have a step-by-step guide so I hope this helps others looking to do similar.
Parts list:
- Renogy Bifacial 115-watt square solar panel - $100: This is a perfect fit between the fan and bathroom exhaust. It is bifacial which means technically it could charge from the underside as well. I didn't need this feature but the dimensions fit perfectly and it was the same price as a non-bifacial (when purchased on Amazon)
- Victron SmartSolar 30-amp MPPT controller w/ Bluetooth - $128: You can get other controllers for cheaper but Victron makes the best and this is an exceptional price. It includes Bluetooth monitoring via the app. The single panel only requires about 8 amps but this allows plenty of room for expansion in the future
- Z-brackets - $15: I initially tried to purchase the adjustable brackets to slightly angle the panel so as to take advantage of the bifacial feature and to allow great surface area for adhesion but ultimately those brackets required too much modification to adapt to the curve of the casita so I went with the traditional z-bracket
- Renogy 10' 10 AWG solar cable - $20: Exactly the correct length to run from the panel, through the gray water vent, and to the tow connector in the closet. 115-watts wouldn't require 10 AWG wire but in case I decide to add more solar panels in the future, I could still use these cables. Also, the cable run from the 7-pin connector is 10-gauge and consistency is neat.
- 30-amp breaker - $16: This runs between the panels and the controller. I prefer this to a fuse since it allows me to easily disconnect the solar from the controller when needed
- VHB 4950 Mounting Tape - $16: I reached out to 3M to inquire what tape to use to mount aluminum to fiberglass and explained my use case. This is the tape they recommend along with...
  • (Optional) 3M Tape Primer 94 - $26: This isn't required but was recommended by 3M and since I don't want the panels flying off, the slight extra expense was worth it for peace of mind.
  • (Optional) Eternabond 3" Rubber Repair Tape - $19: Again, probably not necessary but provides extra peace of mind
  • Electrical tape
  • Wire nuts that can accommodate 3x 10AWG wires
  • 3x 10 AWG Ring terminals
  • (Optional) Wire crimper, shrink tubing: This is preferable to have more solid connections but if you don't have access to all the fancy electrical stuff, you can just use electrical tape and pliers
  • Some extra 10 AWG wire, About 4' is plenty, cut into 2x 18" segments and one 12" segment.
  • (Optional) Loctite Blue Threadlocker: Recommended for ensuring the bolts that attach the panel to the bracket don't come loose.
Tools required:
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Drill and 3/16" bit
  • 8 1/2" screws
  • 6mm wrench or socket
  • Wire strippers and cutters
Steps:
MOUNTING THE SOLAR
First I attached the z-brackets to the panels and put a drop of Loctite on each bolt. The bolt size is 5mm. The order is (from inside the panel) bolt, locking washer, washer, panel, bracket, washer, nut.
Next, I placed the panel on the roof of the Casita to test the fit. I positioned the panel with the brackets on the front and back rather than side-to-side for 2 reasons: a) Since the wind is coming mostly from the front, I figured this would provide more strength. No idea if this is true or not but it makes sense in my head. b) this positions the wires on the side closest to the gray water vent coming out from the closet which is where I want them. The cables should be on the door side of the Casita.
I determined how much I need to bend the brackets to accommodate the slight slope of the roof and bent accordingly. The brackets are aluminum so they bend easily with just your hand or pliers.
Once I had a flush fit and centered on the roof, I traced the outline of the brackets in pencil. Next I cleaned the mounting points on the roof and brackets with alcohol and applied the 3M tape primer (recommended by the representative at 3M) with a Q-tip.
Once everything dried, I applied the VHB tape to the brackets. Next I placed the panel on the roof making sure the cables are on the Casita door side and the bent brackets in the front. I aligned the brackets with the outline I drew and removed the film from the VHB first on the driver’s side, leaving the protective film on the passenger side tape. I pressed firmly for 30 seconds to ensure a good adhesion. Moving to the passenger side, I pulled the cables out from underneath the panel, removed the protective strip from the VHB tape and affixed the panel to the roof, again pressing firmly on the brackets for 30 seconds. Then I left some weight on the panel overnight to help the VHB tape to adhere and ensure a flush fit.
ROUTING THE WIRES AND ATTACHING THE CONTROLLER
On my model the vent cap for the gray tank above the closet just lifted off with a little pressure. It looks like there was supposed to be a screw there but it was missing. Other models may require drilling out the rivets.
From inside the closet I drilled two holes through the elbow of the PVC pipe directly below the vent with (I think) a 3/16” drill bit. I fed the wires through the vent into the closet and routed them along the wall behind the PVC.
NOTE: the wires are the same color so you need to keep track of which is positive and which negative. The MC4 connector has a tiny + or - on it to help but once the wires are on the inside, you won’t know unless you label them.
Next I attached the solar controller to the wood hatch at the bottom of the closet covering the wires. This may or may not be the best place for your setup but it has the benefit of providing a nice run of 10 AWG wire to the battery.
CONNECTING THE CONTROLLER TO THE BATTERY
I cut two lengths of 10 AWG wire about 18” long and stripped them. On one side of one of the 18" wires and one side of the 12" wire I attached a ring terminal with shrink tubing. Electrical tapes works also
Next I connected the wires to the Casita battery. It’s a good idea to disconnect the battery first to make sure you don’t accidentally short the wires.
NOTE: Casita uses black or yellow for hot and white for neutral. Most solar connections use red for hot and black for neutral or, as in the case of the wires linked above, black for both. Confusing, I know.
I connected the positive (hot) wire with the ring terminal to the small red fuse mounted on the floor and the other side to the positive battery connection on the solar controller.
Then I connected the other 18" wire to the negative battery terminal on the controller. I opened the IDC connector (aka tap splice) for the neutral (thick white wire) and swapped it for a wire nut that joined all three wires (the two that were already connected and the negative coming from the solar controller) together. A little electrical tape kept everything secure.
Once both battery wires were connected, I reconnected the battery and the controller came alive and could be set to the appropriate battery type and charging profile. For the Victron controller and the AGM battery I have that was apparently the default profile (confusingly named Gel Victron Deep Discharge). You do not want the “AGM Spiral Cell” profile which is not for AGM batteries. I recommend downloading the app for more controls and to track usage.
CONNECTING THE SOLAR PANEL TO THE CONTROLLER
Once the charging profile is set, I connected the negative solar wire to the controller. I mounted the 30-amp breaker next to the controller. I attached the third ring terminal to the positive solar wire and connected it to the breaker. I took the 12" wire with the ring terminal and connected that between the solar controller and the breaker. Ideally the terminals will be crimped and shrinktubed but pliers and electrical tape also work. Once all the wires are in place, give a firm tug on all the connections to make sure they’re not going to come out.
Head back up to the roof and connect the MC4 connectors and ziptie everything in place to make sure it’s not going to flap in the wind.

FINALLY...
Check the Victron app to see if everything is working and the controller is charging.
If everything is working correctly, replace the vent cover and screw or rivet it down. It’s a good idea to have a dip in the wires before they enter the vent so that any water running down the wires won’t enter.
Last, I caulked the holes that were drilled for the wires and ziptied everything in place in the closet.
A couple days later I applied Eternabond over the brackets as a secondary measure to ensure they won’t come loose and to keep water and dirt from working their way under the VHB tape.
And Bob’s your uncle.

2024.05.08 19:50 SolarSolutionCompany Why A Custom Solar Design Is The Best Option For You

Going solar is a smart decision for environmentally conscious homeowners looking to save money. But not all solar panel installations are built alike. Opting for a custom solar design is the most effective way to maximize your energy production, lower your bills, and get the most out of your clean energy investment.

What's the Problem with "Cookie-Cutter" Solar?

You might be tempted by solar companies offering pre-packaged, generic solar installations. While these might seem cheaper upfront, they often lead to issues down the line:

The Power of Customization: Benefits of a Custom Solar Design

A custom solar design addresses all these issues and gives you numerous advantages:

  1. Maximum Energy Efficiency: A custom design analyses your home's unique energy use patterns. This ensures the size and configuration of your system are perfectly matched to your needs. Panels are placed for optimal sunlight exposure, taking into account shading or roof orientation limitations.
  2. Enhanced Cost Savings: Over time, higher energy production translates directly into lower electricity bills. You'll reduce, or even potentially eliminate, your reliance on the grid, providing long-term savings.
  3. Tailored to Your Budget: Custom design isn't always more expensive. A good solar installer will work with you to find the right balance between system size, panel types, and features to fit your budget while providing the best possible return on investment (ROI).
  4. Future-Ready: Your energy needs might change over time. A custom design can be built with scalability potential, allowing for easy expansion if you want to add more panels later.
  5. Aesthetic Appeal: Designers can work with you to place panels for both maximum efficiency and visual appeal, integrating them seamlessly with your home's roofline.

The Custom Solar Design Process

A reputable solar installer will follow a thorough process for a custom installation:

FAQs about Custom Solar Designs

Q: Are custom solar designs more expensive?
A: Not necessarily. While the planning phase involves a bit more work, the long-term savings from higher efficiency often outweigh any slightly higher initial costs.
Q: How long does the design process take?
A: It varies based on project size, but expect a few weeks for the audit, assessment, and design phase.
Q: Can any roof accommodate a custom solar design?
A: Most roofs can, but an installer will assess your roof's condition and structural integrity before proceeding.

Choosing the Right Custom Solar Installer

In conclusion: If you are serious about maximizing the benefits of going solar, a custom solar design is your best bet. It optimizes your investment, ensures peak efficiency, and sets you up for long-term energy savings and a greener future.

2024.05.07 20:51 iamkingsleyf 17 Delicous Swedish Christmas Desserts

It's one of the best times of the year; Christmas! As Christmas approaches and the temperature drops, it’s time to start thinking about warming recipes to help you survive the winter months. Just when we needed them, the Swedish Christmas desserts showed forth!
We've got just what you need if you’re looking to add something special to your Christmas table this year.
Our list of Swedish Christmas desserts is sure going to be satisfactory. Let's dig in!

1. Swedish Apple Pie

It is hard to find more iconic Swedish Christmas desserts than apple pie. The recipe for Swedish apple pie is as follows: cinnamon, sugar, butter, and peeled and cored apples. First, peel the apples and core them, cutting them into small pieces.
Next, mix the cinnamon, sugar, and butter in a bowl until they form a paste-like consistency. Then, put the apples into a pie crust and pour the mixture over it before baking it for 30 minutes at 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius).

2. Semlor Buns

Semlor buns are traditional Swedish Christmas desserts. They are usually served around Easter but may be served in December or anytime during the year, for that matter.
This is an iconic Swedish dish and one of their most famous desserts. Moreso, these buns are made with cardamom bun dough, filled with whipped cream, dusted with powdered sugar, and topped with almond paste.
When they're fresh out of the oven, they still have a bit of heat on them. So you don't want to eat them until they've cooled off just a little bit. Because otherwise, it could burn your tongue and mouth, which isn't very pleasant at all!

3. Sticky Chocolate Cake

Sticky chocolate cake is one of the most popular Swedish Christmas desserts. It consists of flour, baking powder, salt, butter, sugar, eggs, and milk.
The cake is then baked in a bain-marie with a little water or milk. This creates a moist and gooey cake with a sticky chocolate sauce on top. This is often served with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

4. Äppelpaj (Swedish Apple Pie)

Äppelpaj, or apple pie, is one of the traditional Swedish Christmas desserts. It's made from pastry dough filled with apples and raisins that are stewed until soft and topped with streusel. Not only is it very tasty, it's also very satisfying!

5. Swedish Christmas Toffee

Among other Swedish Christmas desserts, the most popular dessert is toffee. It's so popular, in fact, that the Swedish word for toffee is tårta.
This sweet, rich, buttery confection can be enjoyed at many different times of the year with various toppings and fillings.
The most common way to serve it is as a round cake with whipped cream and lingonberry jam. Meanwhile, the dish might have origins in Medieval Europe when sweetened pastries were served during Advent.
In Sweden, however, we've taken the concept of this treat to another level. The cake is made by spreading hot sugar syrup over a pan of baked biscuits or crêpes. And then, allow it to cool before adding a layer of chocolate or vanilla custard filling.

6. Swedish Apple Cake

This cake is one of my favorite Swedish Christmas desserts and is surprisingly easy to make. The cake comprises layers of apples, bread, and butter-soaked in syrup.
The syrup is first boiled with sugar, cloves, and cinnamon sticks until it becomes thick before being poured over the apple mixture.
However, the most difficult part is waiting for the cake to cool down before slicing it into it! I recommend baking this delicious cake on Christmas Eve as there will be time to enjoy it after dinner while opening presents. This treat will make you and your guests call for more!

7. Swedish Almond Cake

This Swedish Almond Cake recipe is a favorite among Swedes and is often served for dessert on Christmas.
Of all the amazing Swedish Christmas desserts, it is one of the most famous recipes in Swedish history. These cakes were originally served at the wedding of King Karl XIV Johan and Queen Desideria in 1797.
Going further, this light cake is made from ground almonds, sugar, eggs, flour, butter, and vanilla extract.
The top of the cake is sprinkled with icing sugar before baking to give it a delicate crunchy crust. Served with whipped cream or ice cream, this makes for a great dessert that can be enjoyed any time of year!

8. Swedish Waffles

The Swedish waffle is a popular dessert in Sweden and a staple at the Swedish Christmas celebration Jultomten.
The Swedish waffle can be eaten with jam, whipped cream, ice cream, or nothing on it! It's one of my favorite things to eat during the holidays, therefore, included in this list of delectable Swedish Christmas desserts!
The recipe for this palatable dessert is very simple and easy to make. It only has four ingredients: flour, sugar, eggs, and butter. First, mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Then, you whisk the eggs together before adding them to the dry ingredients. The butter goes into melted form before being added as well. Finally, make sure to enjoy it!

9. Kanelbulle (Cinnamon Buns)

Buns of all shapes and sizes dominate the Swedish Christmas dessert list. Kanelbulle, the most popular bun of them all, is a sweet breakfast treat served with coffee or tea in the morning. They're typically made from butter, milk, eggs, yeast, flour, and sugar.
Moving on, this mixture gets kneaded into a dough that is rolled out and shaped into a long oval shape. After this is done, it is filled with either cinnamon and sugar or apple filling (although there are many other variations).
A cross-shaped cut is made on top before they get brushed with egg wash (a mixture of egg yolk and water), giving them their signature shiny glaze.
In short, Kanelbullar is sweet yeast bread rolls. These are flavored with cinnamon and cardamom and topped with a white icing glaze. Above all, they are also delicious Swedish Christmas desserts.

10. Swedish Ginger Cookies

Ginger Cookies are traditional Swedish Christmas desserts that have been around for centuries. They're made with ground ginger, sugar, eggs, and butter.
These cookies became popular after the 17th century when people could afford things like butter and sugar. The cookies are usually sprinkled with powdered sugar before being eaten.
What's more? Ginger Cookies come in various shapes and sizes, but most people are familiar with thin rectangles. Those are about the size of your palm or smaller.
They're typically decorated by pressing a cookie cutter into dough to create shapes before they bake. For example, they can be decorated as stars or snowflakes before baking to add texture and flavor.

11. Swedish Butter Cookies

Butter cookies are a Swedish delicacy that is often served during the Christmas season, and for a good reason. These buttery treats are perfect for enjoying with a cup of coffee or tea or as an after-dinner sweet.
Butter cookies can be whipped up in no time at all and taste equally delicious when made with either butter or margarine.
Just follow these simple directions below to learn how to make this one of the Swedish Christmas desserts from scratch!
First, in a large bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg until well combined. Secondly, beat the butter and vanilla extract together until light in color and fluffy in texture; set aside.
Next, add eggs to the mixture one by one, mixing thoroughly before adding another egg. Lastly, add milk and beat until smooth before adding the dry ingredients.

12. Swedish Pancakes

Swedish Pancakes (typically served with a Lingonberry sauce and whipped cream or jam). These delicious, fluffy pancakes are typically eaten at breakfast time in Sweden. Equally important, they aren't left out of this list of the various Swedish Christmas desserts!

13. Advent Calendar

We aren't finished with these Swedish Christmas desserts, and the Advent Calendar is next! These are popular traditions for both children and adults alike.
The advent calendar is typically filled with 24 little chocolates or treats. This represents one for each day of December leading up to Christmas Day.
It is said that if you have an advent calendar with small pieces, it is easier to resist the temptation to eat them all at once.

14. Saffron Buns

Saffron buns are also one of the most popular Swedish Christmas desserts. They are a Swedish specialty that is traditionally served with coffee or tea.
You will need dough, butter, saffron threads, milk, eggs, and sugar to make it. To make: Melt the butter in a pan and add the saffron threads to it.
Then, add milk to the pan and let it simmer for 15 minutes until half its original volume reduces it. Afterward, remove from heat and allow to cool before adding to your dough mixture along with eggs, sugar, and salt.
Next, knead on a lightly floured surface until smooth; finally, roll into a rectangle shape about 12 inches by 8 inches.

15. Princess Cake

Princess Cake is a traditional Swedish dessert served on Christmas Eve. It's made with sponge cake and whipped cream and covered in marzipan. The marzipan is often molded into a crown shape for a nice decorative touch!
Princess Cake can be found all over Sweden as one of the Swedish Christmas desserts, but it is most popular during Christmastime.
It's commonly eaten at dinner parties, family gatherings, and on holidays like New Year's Eve and Midsummer Eve. Princess Cake is a simple yet delicious dessert that goes great with coffee or tea.
Princess Cake pairs wonderfully with any other Swedish Christmas dessert or any desserts you may have!

16. Swedish Almond & Cardamom Mini-Cakes

The Swedish almond and cardamom mini-cakes are a perfect way to indulge in the holiday season while staying healthy.
This recipe is not only easy and delicious, but it's also vegan, gluten-free, and dairy free! I like to make these little cakes because they are so simple to whip up with just a few ingredients.
Meanwhile, all you need is almond flour, coconut sugar or cane sugar, cardamom seeds, coconut oil, applesauce (or any other fruit puree), vanilla extract, and salt.
The first step to making this delicacy on the Swedish Christmas dessert list is mixing all of your dry ingredients.
These include almond flour (or substitute for oat flour or rice flour), coconut sugar or cane sugar, cardamom seeds (grind them first!), and salt.
Next, add in your wet ingredients: coconut oil, applesauce, or another fruit puree (any kind should work), and vanilla extract.
Mix everything until well combined. Lastly, scoop the batter into cupcake liners that have been lined on a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes before letting cool and frosting them with whipped cream icing. Or simply dust some powdered sugar on top!
With these, you have made yourself a very sumptuous dish that is one of the Swedish Christmas desserts!

17. Swedish Cheesecake

It's Christmastime! And what better way to celebrate the holidays than with a special dessert? Swedish cheesecake, one of the delectable Swedish Christmas desserts, is a delicious and popular choice that many people will enjoy this holiday season. But what is it, exactly? Let's take a closer look.
Traditionally, Swedish cheesecake is made from cream cheese, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract. The mixture is beaten until light and fluffy before being poured into a pie crust or cake pan.
This pan is lined with parchment paper and baked for about 45 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The finished product should be smooth on top with a brown crust underneath, posing as one of the best Swedish Christmas desserts!
Conclusion
Whether you’re familiar with Swedish Christmas desserts or not, this list of popular holiday treats will help you find the perfect dessert. Especially to complement your favorite holiday treats like glögg, Julmust, and pepparkakor.
Swedish Christmas desserts are easy to make and pair well with other traditional Swedish foods like pickled fish and flatbreads. This ensures that all will enjoy the food you bring to your holiday celebration!

2024.05.07 18:21 leinir STAR-F3V9-NVLK for 5,000 UEC [+More, see post]

There is usually one during the two large events each year, the next one being Invictus Launch Week at the end of May, but of course there are no guarantees. You can always create an account with my code, and give me a poke here to send you a note when it's on (i do this for free-fly events as well, read on for that).
Free Fly Time
But! Don't spend until you're ready. There is not currently a free-fly going on (the most recent one ended on the 15th of February), and the next is likely to coincide with Invictus Launch Week at the end of May, or perhaps the release of 3.23 which is likely to be a little before that.
If you would like to wait for the next free-fly, but haven't got the time to check all the time to keep up on when that is going to be - feel free to give me a poke if you'd like a reminder when the next one happens, and i'll send you a message here on Reddit to make sure you know about it :)
Definitely don't spend until you're ready, though - while there is not currently a free-fly happening, it's entirely likely there will be one again in February (and there's essentially a guarantee there is one in May, though of course that's a little while off). If you would like, i can give you a quick poke here on reddit to remind you when the next one goes live (just give me a quick note here and i'll put you on the list).

2024.05.07 17:19 AcornElectron83 Quilboars are the Quadratic Wizards of Battlegrounds.

The problem with Quilboar's is that they scale quadratically. Every one of thier power cards is a multiplier on its scaling. If all quills did in battle was:
  1. Generate gems in hand and
  2. Add stats to gems
then they would have a smoother, more logarithmic scaling. The reality, however, is that every power card for quils effectively multiplies any bonuses you added to gems. For some time, there was a hard limit on how many stats you could get out of your gems per turn, which was your hand size. Adding stats to Gems effectively expanded your hand size, making the limit more flexible, pushing the floor and ceiling of bonuses up. EOT effects were limited except for T6 when you could get Char. That was pretty tame, and as time went on, the way to "scale" quils and make them competitive was pretty obvious.
With the introduction of EOT tick bonuses, the scaling now had a multiplier. Where before you might get +10/+5 per EOT card, you could now get +20/+10 per EOT card with a single minion. Not many tribes can double the rate of their total war band scaling with the addition of a single card. This looked to be the path forward for competitive scaling for quils. What about the Gems you were generating in your hand? There was still a hard limit on how many you could hold. Geomagus Roogug acts as a way to expand your hand size, but it does so in a multiplicative way as well. Not only does it expand your hand size, it also adds to your EOT scaling.
Pokey Thornmantle only compounds the issue. EOT Ticks not only multiply the bonus from Pokey each turn, but they also are multiplied by the Gems cast by EOT Ticks as well. If you have Charlga, Drakkari, and Pokey on the board, and no other bonuses to Gems. The first ticket from Pokey isn't JUST +1/+1. You get +2/+2 on future gems and then your board gets +4/+4 in total stats out of all EOT Ticks. Add another Pokey, now it's not just +2/+2, its +4/+4 to future gems and then, +8/+8 stats per minion out of the total EOT ticks. Let's say you had two pokey, two Charlga, and one Drakkari, That's in total +4/+4 total bonuses to gems and +16/+16 in total stats for every minion in the war band (+8/+8 for the Charlgas). That's just what you get if you play them all at the same time, with no other bonuses or tickets, on their first EOT cycle. In reality, you might have been building stats all the way up to a board like that. Adding the first Chargla doesn't double your stats but it does make your scaling consistent. However, adding a second Chargla totally doubles your stats. Adding any additional EOT tickets also effectively doubles your stats, so long as you have any EOT gem generation.
The scaling isn't linear like it might be with beasts or pirates. It also requires almost no APM compaired to every other tribe. The APM to stat ratio is very imbalanced with quils. Murlocs have the potential to be quadratic in nature, but not to the same degree that quills can. Dragons can also create quadratic scaling conditions, but it's also limited to attack damage for the most part. There comes a point in your quill build where you have to divest in Gem stat bonuses in favor of EOT effects to unlock true scaling. The transition resulting from that divestment is softened by the very nature of the quadratic effect. A fresh Bongo Bopper for example, under the right conditions, can catch up to an entire games worth of scaling from other tribes in a single round of EOT ticks. The flexibility afforded to Gems allows Quils to also slot in minions that other tribes can't, while still maintaining high levels of stats per minion. A Leroy with 200HP? No big deal for quill given the right conditions. Need a cleave? You have some choices if Mechs and Pirates are in. They are the only tribe where the investment you make early in scaling can be effectively offloaded on to stratigicly signifigent minions outside the tribe, and they have a lot of ways to do it, not just Gem Confiscation. The bonuses to gems are not locked to just cards with Quilboar, but we shouldn't add that restriction, because the flexability is part of their playstyle.
So what is to be done?
I think there are clear answers in existing minions from this current pool. Those are the minions who have trigger limits. (Non-Golden / Golden)
Not all of these are required, but the Charlga change would go a long way to tamping down the quadratic effect.
Is there a different path for Quils?
I think there is also room for quil minions that interact with the Gems existing in your hand as an alternative to existing quills.
New keyword: Transfer - Transferring a Blood Gem is a permanent change regardless of when and where they are transferred. Gems transferred to your hand are held until there is room.
Obviously, none of these mock cards are balanced in the positive or negitive sense. The real idea here is Transfering. The ability for minions to permanently move gems between minions and/or your hand in the combat phase.

2024.05.07 07:54 I-am-the-Brute-Squad 5e crafting system

Aspects of Xanthar's crafting system are great, but for my campaigns it requires far too much gold and time to be feasible.
I needed to reduce the total time to anywhere from 1-30 days, and vendor pricing that goes up to 20k gp max. I also wanted a system with simple materials (1-5 at most for each tradeskill), and be easy to manage. Also, these are just the basic (what I would consider primary) item crafting tradeskills.
Feedback is appreciated and welcome, since this is a work-in-progress.
