Hi all,
I need some help to get me out of this current black hole I'm in. I was doing really well - I even started seeing someone I really liked - but then this year has kicked me in the balls. Despite working 80 hour weeks since last June, I'm now in an HR dispute with work. Am so worried I will lose my job - they put the wrong salary in my contract and are now demanding thousands from me: high chance of it going legal. Fell down and concussed myself. Then got the letter that I've been dreading: after a three year wait, the court case for my friend's historic child sex abuse case is scheduled - she's the victim, I'm giving evidence - right after my birthday, so had to cancel my holiday. As I am the survivor of a violent sexual assault, this knowledge that I'll shortly be giving evidence - and I will be totally ripped apart on the stand - has sent me into a complete tailspin, with flashbacks, freezing, crazy moodswings and blind panic. Of course I messed things up with the new guy, so now that's done ... yet another casualty of my inability to manage myself, sex, etc, so I'm also hating on myself, feeling like a freak, like I'll never be normal and basically a bit heartbroken really.
I'm on annual leave atm and I completely lost it this week: I cancelled all plans and have spent the last five days alone in my flat, drinking bottle after bottle of wine, alternating between crying and having huge anxiety attacks, when I need to be getting a lawyer, speaking to my union and calming down to prepare for this court case and the HR thing (both in the next two weeks).
So please if any of you could help me with baby steps ... I know I need to tip this wine down the drain, go to bed soon, get up early, make myself a nourishing breakfast, clean up my tip of a house, call my union and then maybe go out into nature? But what else? I feel so exhausted I can't think straight - my mind and body and heart are all aching and I feel so lost and alone. I am determined not to let this fucking condition mess up my life, my job and this court case.
Any tips for how to pull myself out of this hole would be so gratefully appreciated! Thanks and hugs to you all.

The San Antonio Brahmas QB situation is fascinating. They're a playoff team by virtue of DC yoloing, Abram Smith's ACL, the Vikings practice squad, Reggie Smith, Wade Phillips, etc. They also badly need a QB that can actually run the offense to stand more than a Arlington chance in the postseason. Yet as of Monday Morning, why isn't Da Nuch on this roster?
Guarantano exemplified the grit I wanna see in my football players 9x out of 10. I also totally get the coach going to Sinnett. One of the biggest mistakes I made as a coach was let my Safety who had just come back from injury, and was getting pressed by his backup, stay a snap in longer than he should have. “Coach, I’m good” he said favoring his side. Very next play, a RB outruns him for a big TD even though he took the correct angle because he was heavily favoring his side. Sinnett also had a chance to put the game away but had to take the FG.
Williams: the season is lost but someone has to close these meaningless games and it might as well be you. Can we get to 200 yards or is that asking to much?
Perkins and Lewerke split the Michigan job for the day and I favor Perkins enough to give him the solo start against Memphis at home.
Ta’amu and McClendon land here and the biggest flaw in DC atm is Reggie Barlow just allowing his coordinators to just do whatever. Ta’amu actually was the third best QB last year behind AJ and Da Noch. He didn't suddenly just forget how to play. You still occasionally see flashes of up tempo, RPO, Read Option but then Fred Kaiss this year just derps and gets away from it. Reggie's most egregious offense isn't his horrible game management nor his lack of understanding of momentum but his simple refusal to not have sat both of his coordinators down in WEEK 2 and say “Look we aren't going to nonsensically yolo virtually every down and we are up tempo, RPO, Read Option, not a traditional offense “. Since he never was a HC this year, Ta’amu never hit that extra gear and after next week, I would start McClendon.

AJ’s ankle injury might've messed up my prediction for how the season goes. Even before that, he wasn't out playing but at the very end it was shapeing up to be a great ending and his ankle clearly hurt his mobility. Either way, didn't do enough to keep his spot over Martinez.

So I am expecting some money transfers in the coming months (not much) from a country whose currency is neither Euro nor Dollar. I thought the easiest would be to get the money transferred to my Japanese bank account, but Yucho only works with proxy banks (a USA Bank and a German one. They do not accept direct yen transfers).
I heard that Wise is cool in that you can hold various currencies, but what I am not convinced about is the ATM limits on how much money you can withdraw without incurring any extra fees.
What I am wondering is, would it be best to get a Wise account or would it be easier to get a bank account with another Japanese bank that accepts international bank transfers in yen?

So I was diagnosed with Dequervains on my wrist. Used a splint for some time and had a cortisone shot. It's been about 3-4 months later and I've been using my wrist a lot of course.
My dequervains has somewhat returned again. However it isn't entirely as bad as before. I have been gaming a lot. I am icing a lot however and doing some electrotherapy. I am also doing the weight exercises and rubber band exercises religiously.
However I am worried about how bad it might get again after going back to intense weightlifting and muay thai/mma. Any ideas on what to do. I don't feel like I need surgery atm. Should I continue the exercises, even if I dont continue working out as hard? Is this something I'm going to have to do rest of my life?

As the title says, i am totally worried and confused about what can i do after my graduate?
Atm im looking for a marketing job which hopefully will find anything by September when my tenancy expires but what after that?
I’m having a part time job ( 0 hours but could get around 20 hours per week at best). How can I sort out? I was thinking about doing masters (which will give me additional 3000£ left from loans and after paid accommodation) but i really want to start working in marketing (mostly because that Im 24 and feel so old and bad for not having a real job and staying in part-time jobs).
Or should I get some accommodation and keep looking for jobs instead of doing masters (or just do for the sake of getting 3000£ and quit once i find a job)? In terms of accommodation, its a studentish city so most contracts are for 10-11 months. What if i find a job within 3/4 months and dont manage to find anyone to replace me?

The man (34) I like has asked me (F38) to do an outdoors activity with him. (It could be considered a first date) He asked me a few weeks ago and I told him I would like to. A week ago I asked him if he was still up for it. He replied that he definitely was and we’d go when the weather would be nice.
All great but the weather has been wonderful since Thursday. How much nicer weather is he waiting for? It’ll rain again the day after tomorrow and temperatures are going down again.

Ok I can and I know he is very busy working and also needs a rest. I just really want to spend time with him. Doesn’t have to be a whole day, an hour would be awesome.
I think about him every day and I am impatient to be honest. I will see him in a few days, but that is during work and although it is fun for sure, it is not a date.
He is not a very enthusiastic texter. Very dry and to the point, so trying to get his attention through text messaging and feed my thirst for attention might not be the greatest idea.
I am clearly the less busy one, so I can not just suggest a day and time. He doesnt even have a set day off atm as he works for himself next to his regular job.
So what do I do? How do I keep my cool and be patient and give him space and time he apparently needs?

Up until my sophomore year of college my ndad had complete control over my finances. He refused to give me access to my account info and only gave me the debit card. Unless I went to an atm, I had no way of ever seeing my balance, which forced me to keep in touch with him about every single purchase I made. I thought this was normal until I got to college.
When my twin and I graduated high school, we were gifted $800+ from friends and family, and my ndad took us to the bank to deposit it. I was so excited because my account almost broke $1,000, which I had NEVER seen before; I never had access to more than $200 at a time. When I got home I realized I forgot a check, and my ndad took me back so I could deposit it. I was excited to see my account over $1,000. Except it wasn’t. After depositing a $100 check I only had $200 in my account. When I asked him where the money went, he said he “put it away, you don’t need access to that kind of money”. I never heard him talk about the money again until now, but this happened 3 years ago.
I’m staying on campus this summer to stay away from home, and I thought now would be a good time to have that money back (it never should’ve left my possession in the first place). He has notoriously stolen money from family, borrowing money from them under the premise he’d back it back but he never would, and I even remember he and my mom arguing because she accused him of stealing our money. His defense was “I borrowed it but I put it back”. I figured he had done something similar with my grad money but thought I’d forget about it, so I was prepared for whatever slick response he’d have about its whereabouts. I sent him a message asking about it, and he said we’d talk later. I pressed him further and he asks me “what I’m trying to do where I need money fast”. I told him that the money was mine to begin with so I should have access to it, and he responds “That wasn't my question, But since you want to pop off no need for a conversation. You'll get it when I decide to give it to you. Enjoy your day.”
I immediately called him to confront him, and without hesitation I’m being attacked for calling him while he’s working (he works from home at HIS MOTHERS HOUSE!) and I told him he needed to be respectful and honest with me if he wanted to continue having a relationship. He cusses me out, saying I don’t come to him making demands, how he can do what ever the fuck he wants and so on. I told him that his behavior is convincing me he stole my money, to which he continues cussing me out (called me a motherfucker and to shut the fuck up) saying how dare I accuse him. My last words were telling him to go to hell.
He sent me a text afterwords saying he’d be “requesting the funds” (which I don’t understand?) and when he receives the money he’d send it to me, and essentially he can’t believe I’d ever accuse him of stealing from me “after everything he’s done for me” (abuse me?). It’s been a few days since this happened and I’m still trying to process everything. It makes my blood boil that he thinks he’s the victim in this situation. Im glad I won’t ever be talking to him again, but I also want to tell him how much I hate him for abusing me and my siblings our whole lives and manipulating us into thinking he was a good parent. Not sure how to conduct myself after this.

I work for a delivery company and deliver solely within one shopping mall just bc of the volume the place gets. I go into this one store a lot and there is a girl there that I always got on well with. For the purposes of this post, we'll call her Jess.
After going there for almost a year, and realizing we had a lot of similar interests (music, hockey, etc) I decided i was gonna ask her out, and luckily at the same time I had tickets for an NHL game that i was taking a friend to, but the friend had a last minute emergency the day before and I had an extra ticket (GREAT seats too that i got a sweet deal on). I thought wow this is a perfect opportinity to ask her.
So i finish my work and go up to her store to ask Jess if she'd be interested in going with me (I would have been totally fine going as just plationic friends). She wasn't there atm so I asked her co worker if she was working today and her co worker said no. I knew through talking with her that we had a few mutual friends, so I went on insta and found her profile quite easily. I shot her a message saying "hey I know it's kind of last minute but was wondering if you'd be interested in coming to a hockey game tomorrow night? I have an extra ticket and don't want it to go to waste".
Ever since that day I messaged her, she has not said a WORD to me or even so mucj as glanced in my direction. She used to come up from the front counter when i walked in and talked with me the whole time. I even went out of my way to go up to the front while she wasn't busy and was like hey hows it going? She said "Fine." and walked away. Even some of her coworkers that used to say hi and be friendly all the time are giving me the cold shoulder now.
AITAH here? I feel like i was very respectful and didn't outright say i wanted a date, just to hang out. Is this an overreaction on her part or was I being pushy?? I feel like she could have at least just been like no but thanks for the offer and left it at that.

TLDR: make most weapon able to deal with medium enemies with a little effort.
Disclaimer: English is not my first language. played 500 hours. had no experience on gaming industry so I probably don't know what I'm talking about. Think of this post as a random guy's fantasy.
the whole idea is to make sure most weapon have some ways to deal with medium enemies like devs and bile spewers. Personally I think most of the frustration comes from being overwhelmed with medium enemies that either requires you to aim like s1mple or eat up your whole mag to deal with 1 out of 5 to 6 of these spewer mfs.

ARs should all have medium AP, able to take down devs in around 10 shots bodyshot, take down strider legs with 5-6 shots, and are able to take out bile spewers with headshots. Stalwart however should still have light AP since it’s working really well as a hoard clearer.
SMGs are good where they are, good for hit & run with bugs, and good with ballistic shields in bot missions.
DMRs should one shot all small enemies and kill devs with 2-3 body shots and spewers with 2-3 headshots. the machine gun should be like a full auto DMR.
Shotguns breaker, breaker incendiary and punisher are pretty good ATM. could use some damage buff so they can brutefoce through spewer asses, and maybe even charger asses.
Slugger should have heavy AP and have shorter range (like 10m), able to shoot through strider face and heavy dev shields, shoot off charger legs with a full mag, and shoot the face of hulks (unlikely unless you stun them), but not able to shoot through charger skull, hulk front and tank (except heat sink)
Spray & pray is in a pretty awkward position and I don’t really know how to fix that, but one idea is to make it deal 2-3 times more damage, have more ammo and have 0 AP. Literally spraying away at enemies praying for the pellets to hit some weakspots.
The crossbow should have a safety mechanism that make arrows not explode at close range, or a delayed detonation at all range, and increase its blast radius so it’s more effective against smaller targets. And it can have two modes, one for AOE that explode on impact, and another for single target that explode inside the enemy. (maybe by putting the explosvie on the tip or on the end of the arrow?)
The eruptor should one shot everything below a hulk. If it can do that I don’t mind if the explosion is totally removed. Autocannon can be a such eruptor with bigger mags and faster fire rate.
The dominator is good where it is. it has damage close to DMR mentioned above and it staggers to make up the smaller mag and worse handling.
The plasma shotgun is a perfect example of what explosion weapons should be. Big range, less damage on medium but staggers.
scythe at high heat should have increased damage and maybe higher AP; or it should be able to soften/melt away medium armor.
give the purifier infinite ammo or make it a plasma eruptor (as in mentioned above, not as in the current version)
Recoilless/QuazaEAT should be able to one shot tanks/hulks at heat sink.
HMG should be fed from one big ammo backpack without the need to reload and should be able to kill hulks without headshot and chargers with headshots for 1/4 of the ammo, and kill titans with headshots and tanks without heat sink shots with half of its ammo. The idea is to make it possible to break through the strongest armor head on at the cost of ammo.
Spear should one shot everything, maybe even the factory strider. I actually have an idea where spear missile are shot from the backpack but that seems too overpowered.
I know little about railgun so I can’t really say anything about it’s present state, but here’s a remake version: you can charge up to 12 seconds in unsafe mode. 6 seconds to one shot hulks in the front, 8 seconds to one shot tanks in the front, 10 seconds to one shot bile titans. However, if you stagger or dive after the 5 second mark, the gun explode and you die.

Assault Rifles

• Pretty much all AR’s need reworking but AH have acknowledged this or at least the CEO has. Make them all med pen weapons bar liberator (keep this gun as the reminder of how you started, should be the weakest primary but still good for up to diff 5), make them slower firing but really hurt armoured units to distinguish them from smg’s. Speaking of…

Submachine Guns

- Pummeler: this is in a good spot imo, baseline weapon powerful, fun but obvious limitations. - Knight: the one gun I have no idea what to do with TBH - Defender: seems fine too, maybe make it hit even a bit harder than the pummeler as it doesn’t stagger. That’s the trade off. Buffing damage obviously takes into account if AR's are buffed to above where SMG's are right now.

Shotguns

- Punisher: baseline, feels fun to use with obvious limitations, hits hard and has good range, staggers like it should. - Slugger: given the slug nature compared to the other shotguns it should be the most powerful single target shotgun, needs stagger back defo. Fun with a mouse and key but hard to use effectively with controller even before the nerf. - Breaker: restore the mag size to launch number, that’d make it baseline again - Breaker incendiary: baseline, great gun right now super fun - Breaker Spray and Pray: I’ve honestly had no need to use this weapon over incendiary.

Marksman rifles

• Not really my playstyle, good for weakpoints maybe but my aim isn't the best so maybe better damage to non weakpoints too. That or lean into the weak point strength with unique sights that highlight weak points specially, maybe even see through fog and blizzard/sand storms.

Explosive

- Eruptor: This gun felt really fun and I reckon baseline at launch bar too many mags which may be an actually good nerf balance wise, I never knew about any exploits myself until after nerf but using this with a stalwart had me smiling. Defo keep its bug nest, fabricator clearing ability. Restore its glory! - Crossbow: this puzzled me and was the breaking point for me personally regarding AH’s approach to balance because I thought it needed a buff to compete with the eruptor yet it was nerfed. Should do big damage, basically one shot single med pen targets or spewers on direct hits. Treat more like a specialised grenade launcher with support stalwart as primary, less splash than grenades but great for chargers asses and stripping legs. Increase power and lower velocity I think, make it a skill based weapon. Have it close holes and fabricators and open crates. - Jar 5 dominator: baseline honestly, needs more patience than other shotguns when using to shine due to handling but it does. Let it open crates atleast.
- Punisher Plasma: I need to try it out more but I hear good things post buff, could be baseline. Should atleast open crates but maybe not close holes and fabricators idk - Blitzer: so close to baseline, maybe the arc inconsistencies and the upgrade to chained target applying to it also could get it there. - Scythe: all I can say is with a controller, it’s no fun, hear mixed opinions with mouse and key - Sickle: honestly on cold planets, baseline choice and the ammo debuff doesn’t hurt it there. Outside cold planets it gets tricky but I think that should be it’s unique selling point. - Scorcher: right now, pretty much there baseline wise. - Purifier: Dead on arrival, could be as much fun as launch eruptor if reworked in an interesting way.

Secondary Weapons

- Peacemaker: with a laser sight compared to redeemer I think it’s fair to stay, mainly for ballistic shield builds it has use but also like the liberator reminds you where you started. - Redeemer: single shot, this gun still beats the new verdict IMO for DPS. Baseline on that alone. Fun to spray in a pinch but mag count balances it. Lacks laser sight for First Person Ballistic Shield tho which is a shame. - Senator: Good baseline now it has a speed loader, not a fan of the sights or reticle though but thats me. Also hard to use in First Person with ballistic shield. -Dagger: Like the scythe maybe with mouse and key, better aim, its great for weakpoints on bots but i don't have any fun with it myself. - Verdict: More mags and the laser sight could make it a good Ballistic Shield gun if using in First Person but I also feel just adding med pen armour would just tip it to a baseline choice.

Grenades

• My only beef here is now the Thermite grenade, it doesn't stick most of the time and like others have said, if it lowered armour pen needed for that area after its explosion it'd be a very cool strategy for big targets, soften them up then unload an MG into the area.

Armour Passives

Rather than individual armours I wanna talk about the passives and what new ones could replace the abundance of identical ones.
- Democracy Protects: 50% less chance of getting killed by lethal damage and prevents bleeding from chest haemorrhages. First part is interesting but second part never really noticed myself, fine but perhaps could just be 50% less chance of getting killed by lethal damage and 25% chance for limbs to not break*.* Making this a 'Luck' Style armour.
- Engineering Kit: Reduces recoil while crouching or laying down by 30% and increases grenade capacity by 2. At the moment apparently this effects all recoil regardless of crouching or laying down, which honestly should remain. make it Reduces recoil by 30% and increases grenade capacity by 2. Baseline!
- Extra Padding: Increases Armor Rating. A baseline for new players.
- Fortified: Reduces recoil while crouching or laying down by 30% while granting 50% resistance to explosions. I would change to perhaps Reduce Flinching effect by 30% when crouching or prone while granting 50% resistance to explosions.
- Med Kit: Increases Stim capacity by 2 and increases their duration by two seconds. Baseline, very good passive buffs.
- Servo-Assisted: Increases grenade throwing range by 30% and adds 50% bonus to limb health. Instead of Limb Health, I think the whole passive should be Increases grenade throwing range by 30% and support weapons reloads by 15%
- Scout: Markers placed on maps scan the area every two seconds, reduces enemy detection by 30% Honestly our go to armour right now, baseline, whether because it's working as intended or not.
- Electrical Conduit: 95 percent resistance to arc damage. Almost there honestly but I think adding a secondary would make it more fun, like 95% resistance to arc damage and increase Fire rate of arc based weaponry by 10%

Suggestions for other passives for existing/ future armours

- Feel the Burn: Take 80% less Fire Damage from all sources, movement speed increased while on fire by 20% I could see some intentional self immolation to quickly speed grab samples, finish artillery loading in fire tornados or make an escape from a large group, also a good counter to the Hulk Scorcher. Risk vs Reward.
- Artic Explorer: Reduce movement penalty in deep snow and during blizzard hazards by 50%. More Traction on Ice. I considered maybe giving a reduce detection buff instead but I'd rather just have a scout armour with polar colours.
- Geologist: Samples appear marked on the main map when in 50 metre proximity and sample outlines can be seen through terrain at 25 metres. Shows outlines of dropped sample containers too within 25 metres. When ya hunting specifically for samples this would be a handy set for one diver to bring. Like with scout the marking on map doesn't apply squad wide and would show as blinking dots representing their rarity, green/orange/purple. Could also have a hidden buff that audibly warns being in a meteor shower impact zone.
- Flexible Shoulder Pads: Increase solo reload speed for backpack weapons by 30% and increase melee damage by 50% The main draw here is obviously the first buff, it wouldn't affect non backpack support weapons like the railgun or AMR (The Servo-Assisted reload buff I suggested covers those but less of a buff) but Spear, Airburst, Autocannon, Recoilless etc.
- Analyst: Highlights mission critical objects of interest in 50m proximity through terrain. Enemies and patrols temporarily show as red outlines through terrain when pinged. This is similar to the Geologist perks but instead of samples showing through terrain, terminals/ssd's/launch codes, artillery warheads, valve icons show from further away. Enemies also pulse three times (per 1.5 seconds) allowing you or perhaps even your whole team to get a better view. Extra hidden buff, see outlines of team mates when dropping in.
What do you guys think? It’s pretty clear now that trying to do this monthly content is just not working out, more issues than wins overall not to mention the longer this goes on the more intimidating it is for new players coming in having to spend thousands of super credits to just access the bonds and if they shortcut with real money are gonna feel let down with the lacklustre feeling of weapons and uninteresting new armour as they are now.
The latest war bond seems to be ignoring the last balance update numbers before it, which gives the impression things are too rushed as they are now. so the tenderiser (which doesn't even match the trailer colour wise) and purifier are pretty much dead on arrival. The Verdict feels underpowered with light pen now the senator has a speed loader etc
If this goes on we’re just gonna get more new weapons and armour that seem superfluous and often worse than existing launch weapons with more on the way before existing ones are properly fixed. Bear in mind a lot of players aren’t grinding for these bonds but again paying for them.
I think instead (if possible with Sony terms) the next 3 month gap between bonds should really work over issues with some existing armours and weapons, with interesting effects and unique elements that let them stand out. I think it would be easier holding back new content and releasing it in a massive dump too because the heavy users will unlock them immediately and bring to attention any issues needing a quick fix before the rest of the player base get their first impression spoiled.
The arc resistance to armour was the only real interesting post launch armour passive and it didn't even cover all Weights. Each war bond if remaining as monthly at the very least should introduce a new fun passive effect. Like others have said the Polar Bond giving an armour passive specific to snow planets with a secondary buff to run on ice without slipping would have been a lot more interesting.
The focus of balance now should be no nerfs, only buffs. The best weapons right now are the only fun ones to use ATM, none feel overpowered so make them the baseline.

Firstly, a lot of people were asking for some more context in the comments. Also, I didn't mention it in that post, but her grandfather is recently passed.
"Why would the grandparents get the money in the first place?" From what I've pieced together, my wife used to live with them when her son was born, well before I entered the picture. When the social security check started coming, it was going to their address. Because she doesn't have a car, they were cashing the check for her. Sometime after she moved out, they received a card in the mail and ever since, the money that she receives for her son has direct deposited into an account linked to that card. They've been using an ATM to continue getting cash out in order to deposit some into the savings account and give some to her. Also, my wife never knew that it was a card, to her knowledge it was a physical check up until I got the card from grandma.
"Who actually cares for the child?" We do, but they did for a time before I entered the picture, when he was still in preschool. As I've already mentioned, my wife doesn't have a car or a license, so he lived with them so that they could take him to and from school.
"How much have you personally saved for your son's future? Why would you use his money to pay off your debts? It sounds to me like they're trying to make sure he's set for his future." I haven't saved anything yet because we haven't been financially stable yet, living paycheck to paycheck, but I'm working on fixing that. Using his money to pay off my debts is part of that, since the family relies heavily on my income. But that's not even needed anymore because my parents offered to pay off my car and my phone has barely $300 left to be paid off, I can do that on my own. And as for "It sounds like they're trying to make sure he's set for his future," this is absolutely not the case for reasons I'm about to get into.
As for our financial stability, there's actually a lot going on and that's bringing us to the meat of this post: What should I do right now, continue working at my job or quit and focus on moving?
Since making that post, her grandmother gave us the card that links to our son's social security money, and we figured out which bank they made the savings account at, talked to them, and discovered that the savings account was initially created in my wife's name. So with that information now, we set up an online banking account that gives us access to the account. There's over $12,000 in it, but (and this is why I said that it's not the case that they're trying to set him up), nothing has been deposited into the account at all between June of last year and when I gave grandma $400 to put into the account. And before then, it was only getting $300/month instead of the $400 that it was supposed to get, with sporadic deposits, going 2-3 months without a deposit at all. We haven't asked grandma about this, and to be honest, we're not going to because I don't think she would know. It's still $12,000, that's more than I was hoping for.
So, moving: We're planning on moving from our home in the Great Smoky Mountains to a house that my wife's uncle is offering us in Ohio, near Cincinnati. This move will slash our rent in half, put us in a 2-story house rather than a tiny apartment, and put us near far better work opportunities for me. I've put in an application at the carpenter's union up there, which will pay $2000/month more than I'm making right now. Between this job and the bills being paid off, rent for $400/month instead of $810, and now having access to my son's full check every month, the household will effectively be earning over $3000 more each month than it is currently. We would have to spend money out of my son's savings account to move, but we would be able to save the full over $900 he receives every month after we get settled, rather than $3-400 that hasn't been regularly saved.
Last night, we sat down and did the math. The entire household together (my wife's and son's disability checks + my income) stands to earn $5,500 between now and the move. We would need $4,800 between now and then, which covers our full expenses for the move and for the rest of this month and next month, everything except food. We're already getting $2,300 guaranteed ($1800 between my wife's and son's disability checks, $500 from this previous week of work). If I stay at my job long enough to get the full $5,500 that we potentially earn, we'll still probably need about a grand out of the savings account because I didn't take food between now and then into account when doing the math, food is difficult to guesstimate. But that also means working literally all the way up to the moving day and trying to pack everything and clean the apartment between now and then, and my wife can't help much because she's wheelchair-bound. Or I can pull between $2-3000 from the savings account to pay for the rest of the move and just quit my job. I am gonna have to empty the savings account anyways because the bank it's in is a local one that they don't have in Ohio.
It should also be noted that there's an emotional component here, too. When we were talking about everything last night, I started getting extremely overwhelmed at the thought of continuing to work while moving, to the point that I started crying. My wife and I had to go lay down in bed and cuddle for a while to let me calm down. The most I'm willing to do is this coming week, and just tell my boss not to put me on the schedule again for next week. I think that anything more than that will be just too much for me.
Oh, I should probably tell you guys when we're planning on moving: We have appointments here in June that we can't cancel, but her grandfather's memorial is going to be in Ohio at the start of the month because that's where all their family but us are. So we're going to move most of our stuff up there at the beginning of the month, come back for the appointments, and then go back up and be officially moved in permanently at the end of the month. Work has approved me a vacation already for the first week of June for the memorial. Working 1 more week at work would put the 19th as my last day, which gives us over 2 weeks to pack and clean the majority of our stuff, and then when we get back, another full 2-3 weeks to pack what's left before the move (I think our last appointment is literally the last Friday in June, so we have to stay here the entire month unfortunately).
Also, I've done some calculations on https://www.calculator.net/investment-calculator.html because I am planning on putting the money into an investment account, rather than back into another savings account to generate 0.75% interest (yes, that's actually what his savings account is generating, while I estimated 6% interest for the investment account on the site but it could definitely be higher). Starting amount $12,000, adding $1,000/month like we would be doing, is $183,000 in 10 years for his 18th birthday. Starting amount $9,000, same settings for the rest, is $178,000. So a difference of $5,000. Not that big of a difference.
So this brings us to the actual question of the post: What should I do? Text my boss, "I apologize, but after some deliberation, I have decided to leave this job now in order to focus my efforts on moving. I will not be back."? Tell her tomorrow when I'm in not to put me on the schedule next week, this will be my last week? Or just keep going until the move-in day and push through it?

Me naman, as the panganay, medyo financially independent na ako + nakakapagbigay na rin sa house namin for extra and sagot ko lahat ng outside sa usual gastos like handa for occasions ganon-ganon. I’m a barista at a coffee shop and this question has been on my mind a lot lately and I’d love to get others opinions on it.
As far as I know in the United States service animals do not have any official documentation/license or don’t have any requirements to be wearing a certified vest/collar, which ends up making them look like any other dog. Me being a barista I can only ask 2 questions:

1. Is the dog a service animal because of disability?
   
2. What task has the dog been trained to perform?
   

After that I basically have to come to my own conclusion, do they get to stay or should I ask them to step outside to take their order.
Now, the coffee shop I work at is in a building with many other businesses, and almost everyday we get a little furry visitor from the business next door who has been very politely trained to sit at the door and not come in. He’ll patiently wait for one of the baristas to have some free time so we can hand him a treat. This got me thinking about how one of the main things to look for in a fake service dog is their behavior, but in reality any person can train their dog to act polite in any public environment.
Let’s say someone just loves having their dog around and they make the excuse that their dog is a service animal, so they train their dog to act calm and collected in public, and just in case someone asks they come up with a task their dog is trained to do that isn’t for any clearly physical purpose (such as being blind or physically handicapped). Let’s say they are trained to deter them away from people when they have panic attacks (which they are lying about, but idk that). At that point there really is no way in telling if the dog is truly a service animal or not, and because I work in a place with food we need to be extra careful about which dogs we decide to let in due to health violations.
I would hate getting on anyone’s bad side, but I’ve been wondering as to why there is no official certification for service animals in the US. I’ve heard that the rules state a service animal is no different than a wheelchair or crutches in the sense that it’s a medical tool, but unlike wheelchairs and crutches dogs are not inanimate objects, they are animals with emotions and certain behaviors that need training. Basically what I’m getting that is wheelchairs don’t need training to become wheelchairs, and since I work with food another point is that wheelchairs don’t carry around possible diseases if not vaccinated correctly.
An idea I had was if maybe a license had to be shown at least in places where food is served, or maybe animals must have a required vest with a clear pocket (mainly so that the owner doesn’t have to worry about always taking out their service dogs certification) and so that us workers can easily see an ID or something of that nature it if need be.
What do you guys think? Should service animals have come kind of certification or are the rules enforced atm good enough? I’d love to know other people’s experiences/thoughts on the matter.

So as the title says, I would like to inform myself a bit on the different dietary choises you can make and how they might affect your health, energy, weight gain/loss and the likes.
I'm someone who does like food a lot, and I like to eat nice stuff, but I also want to be wary of my weight (I'm not thin, and don't mind that, but I've been noticing I'm putting on a bit more then I'd like to).
Not sure if this info would be relevant, but I often have toast with spreads for breakfast with a coffee and some juice, instant ramen for lunch (as uni is buisy) and my dinner varies quite a lot.
I'm not quite sure what I should be changing, weather I should just Eat different things, try to lower my food intake in general (though this sometimes comes at the cost of my energy, which I can't have atm, though idk if that is just temporary), or do something else all together.
If there is a good solution which requires some meal prep that could also work for me (say changing my breakfast for something else, idk if/how that would work).
In short: I'm not really to knowledgable on different dietary strategies, their strengths and weaknesses, and would really like some advice or some resources to read up on.

Some context (going to try to explain as much as I can): My boyfriend and I have been friends for years and met through other people. We were in previous relationships before, got out of our toxic relationships, ended up getting even closer, hooking up, then eventually a few months later falling in love. We're super in love and happy with one another and see each other as our best friends and have so many things in common with one another. My most recent ex (of 6 years) was super toxic and narcissistic and he left me for another woman he just met after blaming me for things that went wrong, even though he was the one that had me begging for the bare minimum such as his time and affection. I went to therapy after and healed, am in a mentally better headspace now, and I'm in a happy healthy relationship with my current boyfriend that makes me feel loved and treats me so well. His mom loves me too and makes me feel welcomed.
There's only one issue however, and that's my mom and sister. My mom and sister have been talking bad about him behind my back for no reason (they didn't even get to interact beyond surface level yet). I tried to communicate with them, and my mom expressed that she's concerned about me and is worried I'll be heartbroken again and that she has no ill will towards him, but wants to see for herself that he loves me (she knew about the stuff I went through with my ex). My sister on the other hand, has been talking shit behind my back and basically slandering him. I'm not sure if at this point if she's worried about me or just being racist, since she's exhibited racist behaviors in the past (I'm asian, my current boyfriend is hispanic.)
I was open to my boyfriend about all this because it involves him and I don't like lying to my partners I always hope for transparency and it's been causing stress between us because he did nothing wrong and didn't have any negative interactions towards my sister, but she's slandering him behind our backs. And it's hard that the issue in our relationship isn't even us, it's outside factors (aka my family, mostly my sister who's potentially racist).
For more context too, I was open to my family about how well he treats me and how happy I am with him. And as of right now I live with my mom and sister, since I was financially struggling after coming back from college and I am still not in a good enough financial situation to move out. To add, my mom and sister have always been a strain on my mental health after my dad passed when I was 16 so I'm used to it, but it hurts me that my boyfriend is taking some of the blunt right now as well. My mom is at least open to going to therapy with me and trying to make an effort to judge my boyfriend with her own eyes, but my sister is hard headed, stuck in her ways and refuses to change for the better. The fact that she goes behind my back to talk smack to my mom and not communicate to me says enough.
My boyfriend and I love each other lots and see futures with each other, but I'm struggling to find out how this dynamic will work with him and my family atm, especially with my sister, since I can't afford to move out right now.
TLDR; I love my boyfriend, but my family has been talking bad about him behind our backs without even getting to know him. My sister is kinda racist towards him and I can't afford to move out from my house yet, so I'm struggling in finding a way to get everything to work between him and my family.

Super strange dream I just had, oddly realistic. Had to write it down quick before I forget the details.
I was wandering aimlessly at a festival in my city, I had nothing to do that day and there were fireworks.
I was the only one at work who didn't have anyone else to go to this thing so I thought I might as well instead of going straight home after work.
I saw a small shop next to shacks on the beach. The sign outside said they sold shirts with prints. I step inside, and see 5 teens sitting on a mattress on the floor, on a corner of the store chilling, surrounded by racks of shirts of many colors and prints.
I asked for the price and was told that they only sold in bulk. I asked for the price in bulk again, was told they weren't selling that atm. What is it do you sell then? They all laughed and asked if I found the place from the Facebook post. I nodded along not wanting to let it be know I wandered there aimlessly.
They were friendly and had me sit. I saw them smoke something from a bong. I have only done it once before, but I did not mention this until I was given it.
I asked if it was cannabis and they laughed. They mentioned a plant that I have never heard before in my life, and I woke up to look it up in Google to see if it exists, I think it doesn't.
They said it was "Yaquico". I have never heard of this word before.
I got nervous and asked what kind of thing it was? Hallucinogen? Dissociative? Deliriant? They could not give me a straight answer, they just said it got your mind wandering or something.
The last thing I remember was thinking how much of an idiot I was, and that I was probably drugged to be robbed and would wake up next to a road without pants or money.
But I woke up, and I have been writing this down before I forget it.

I've been focusing on procedural workflows for the past year. Substance Designer, Blender geo nodes, shaders (Unity, Unreal, Blender) and worked on simple VFX in Unity and Unreal, also Unreal's PCG framework is on my table almost daily. Today is the first day I opened Houdini and joined the thread, yay :D I've heard from teachers and the people in the industry that knowing procedural workflows, especially Houdini, is a great thing to have in your portfolio. But when it comes to job posts, I haven't seen a lot of demand for it. I'd love to specialize in procedural modelling and environment creation, but wondering what's the actual demand there, and what direction to take. At the moment I'm building some environment kits and tools for digital sale, but my main goal with everything is to develop a strong portfolio that will get me hired as a tech artist specializing in procedural workflows (Dream would be that it would also have something to do with environments, since that was what I specialized in at first, but then got hooked on PCG stuff.) and I'm currently working on procedural tools to present in my portfolio and slowly transform my artstation from environment to procedural-powered environment art.
Would love to hear opinions and thoughts about this, references to good portfolios in the field and how the industry demand is in general. Thanks in advance!
