2024.05.16 13:43 MilkshakeFish Advice please!!

Hi! I am a little new to owning dogs, I've grown up with dogs in my life but this is the first time I've ever been solely responsible for a dog. I have a sweet 6 month old Bernese Mountain Dog that I need some training advice for! She learns really quickly and she's relatively easy to train, but she is in her "teenage years" so she's a little all over the place. With that said! I have a couple areas I need some help with :)
1) Counter Surfing. She's very determined to get on the counter and my training efforts have done nothing to curb that. I really really want to remedy this problem because it's a safety concern at this point. She's a little bigger than a medium sized dog right now and she can reach across the whole counter if she pleases. My current method has been relying on "leave it" then telling her to "sit". This doesn't really seem to do the trick in my oppinion because if she's in an ornery mood she'll just ignore these commands and then we have to get her down ourselves. She's also stealing food off plates! When she does this I'm not sure how to react other than tell her no and get her away from it.
2) Leash training. My girl chews on her leash like no other. She tries to also play tug of war with me and obviously I can't just let go of the leash unless we are at home. She also doesn't stay at the same speed as me and pulls me along at times. Definitely important to break that habit cause she'll soon be too big for me to fight against that. Unfortunately the leash training has been a bit neglected because the weather where I live has been abysmal.
I've been trying to rely on YouTube videos for help but a lot the trainers are using dogs that are already trained, which doesn't help me. Any and all advice is super appreciated!

2024.05.16 13:42 ismailnabilsi Childhood friend texting me out of nowhere and calling me a sh*t person, and telling me I should go f* myself.

So basically, I had a childhood friend texting me out of nowhere and calling me a sht person, telling me I should go f** myself. I truly don't understand what triggered her or what she is going through. A lot of our classmates and friends back then stopped being friends with her and called her crazy, a bad person, self-obsessed, etc. She burned bridges with most of them, made a lot of mistakes, and used to act as the victim, claiming she "forgives them" now. But it was high school, and we were kids; you tend to move on from these things with time, especially when you're 31. It was ironic to me, but I kept her as a friend throughout the years, connecting once or twice a year. We were friends for almost 21 years, since 2003.
Now, to the "juicy stuff." Back in 2004, we were around 10/11 years old. She used to date a lot of guys in school, and it was already known that Karen fooled around. She was relatively good looking, "hot" by high school standards, and everyone had a crush on her. Back then I was a stupid, shy, introverted overweight kid, and was good friends with her. One time, I was out with the guys, and a couple of them started talking about her and how she is a bitch. I said that I know her really well and the that she is actually a slut. I can't remember why, but I think I thought I was being cool just like the other guys. It was a stupid mistake from an 11-year-old kid. Word got out that I said those things about her; she confronted me about it, and I apologized, saying that I didn't mean it. We stopped being friends.
Fast forward 10 years pass by after that incident, and now it's 2013. We were 20/21 years old. I went to Canada to visit my best friend, and she was also living in that same city. We all went out to grab a bite and reminisced about the old days. We also talked about that specific incident, and I apologized from the bottom of my heart. We said that it was 10 years ago, we were kids, and we moved on and even became closer than ever. After that, everything was great, and we talked about our dating lives. I was telling her about my struggling with dating girls and that I get nervous and insecure (which is completely normal for a 20-year-old boy). She used to call me in the middle of the night crying about what her boyfriends used to do to her, and I was there for her. Keep in mind that I wasn't attracted to her at that point, and I didn't consider myself "friend zoned" because she wasn't my type of girl – the depressed and drama all the time type of girl. So, I was just being a good friend and being there for her when she needed me, and vice versa. I texted her and asked her what to do with girls when I needed an opinion.
Fast forward another 9 years pass by. During those years, I heard from another friend that one of our female friends at high school is getting married and Karen called the husband and told him not to marry that girl because she was a slut and she won't be a good wife for him. I was shocked but didn't do anything about it because it wasn't my concern. Throughout those years, she would come to town every 2/3 years. I would go out and see her and catch up. We drifted apart, which is normal for any two friends that live in different countries/time zones, but nothing major happened. We rarely texted and weren't that close anymore.
In 2023, we were 30 years old. She comes to town, and I was about to get married. She texts me and tells me she's in town and would love to see me and meet my fiancée. I told her it would be my pleasure, and we went out for coffee, and she met her. It went fine; she was a bit awkward and seemed miserable and definitely not as good looking as before. Keep in mind that my wife is a physician, and I work at a big 4 accounting firm. She does fitness training and volunteers at a government facility for the veterans, still single, or was seeing someone on and off. I honestly don't think that she got jealous, but I told my fiancée back then that she's a bit weird, and a lot of my friends call her "crazy" till this day.
Now, a year later, last night, she texts me out of nowhere, telling me "you are a sht person," and that she is just speaking her mind. I told her, "excuse me? Where is this coming from?" She said that she just felt like saying it and that she isn't hacked or drunk and completely aware of what she's doing. I told her honestly if you truly feel like that I don't care or don't want to know why since I didn't do anything wrong to her and told her I don't know what she's going on with her and that I wish her the all best in life and truly hope that she's doing fine. She started bringing up that I called her a bitch 20 years ago! And I should go f** myself!! And that after all that she's done to me and standing up to me when some girls made fun of me being overweight and that I was a shy kid and didn't know how to get girls, and that I used her all these years and only connected with her when I wanted or needed anything from her. And she tells me it's karma and to go f*** myself again. I was shocked and told her I'm not going to waste my energy on something in the past, and she shouldn't either, and told her that it was a mistake, and that we talked about it years ago and we moved on, and that we are now grown ups and I'm sure she should know something or two about making mistakes in her past. She said “Oh do I??” And started texting me paragraphs; I didn't read them and told her "wish you all the best in your life, bye" and completely blocked her.
This is high school bs that people move on from, and clearly, she's still hung up on the past and still struggling with all the things that happened to her, not just with my incidents in particular but with everyone from her past. She is clearly ill and going through stuff in her life. And I'm not getting myself into drama and negative energy in this stage of my life. Maybe because she is seeing people from school starting to settle in, having successful lives, and marrying good partners, on the other hand she is still struggling with her life and relationships, and not doing good overall in her life. I told my wife about what happened and told her to be careful if she contacts her and to block her. I'm truly speechless and shocked, but I think I did the right thing because it looks like it's true what everyone was saying about her, that she's a pain in the butt and crazy and negative. I should've cut her off years ago. Even though I was truly sorry to say these things about her, but I was a kid! And wanted to be there for her whenever she needed me. That's crazy!

2024.05.16 13:41 boreddweller SO not putting me and baby before his family

Do not post anywhere else.
I'm so sad I have to come here. If you see my history, you'd be able to tell that I have a huge MIL problem. For context, me and my SO are not married, but have been together for 6.5 years, living together for 6. We have just welcomed home our rainbow baby after a stillbirth 2 years ago.
SO's family are narcissistic, the typical toxic household of entitled and abusive behaviour. He moved out before we met, but only down the road. So they live 2 minutes away. Between our stillborn child and our rainbow baby being born (15 months between them), I saw his family TWICE. I received no messages from them, the contact was once every 7.5 months. Now they feel entitled to see us (or rather our baby) every week or two. This is not okay with me.
SO seemed to have a grip on their behaviour before I got pregnant, so I had no worries. He stood up to them. Now it seems like he has gone backwards and has lost whatever spine he had. I am so disappointed.
I asked him to tell them I won't have visitors for 2 weeks after giving birth. When they did visit, there would be no kissing of the baby. We also would not take unsolicited advice.
He did not communicate this to them. This resulted in his mother hounding his phone when we were still in hospital, demanding information, begging to come and see us, telling us we were being weird and must not be proud of our baby. SO muted her, but only until we got home.
We (I) let them come over when baby was 3 weeks old. Those 3 weeks were full of demands to see her. Oh, I almost forgot, we did walk baby over in the pram so they could see them, when baby was 10 days old. I was still healing from 2nd degree tear. We stayed outside and because MIL didn't get to hold baby, it 'didn't count' as meeting them! This boils my blood and SO said nothing.
We have visited twice more (baby is almost 4 months). They have kissed my baby on all visits, apart from one where SO said they couldn't because of FIL's cough. Well no, that isn't our boundary, it's no kissing at all! It happened quickly all times, and I felt it was SO's place to correct his family. Clearly I was wrong.
MIL demands to hold baby regardless of how baby is. She demands us to take baby to see them. She will ask every week. She makes comments on how long it's been (7 weeks now). SO came home in the week (he works for FIL and does paperwork at their house, where MIL lives) in a horrible mood. He didn't say what was wrong until later on, so I was anxious until then. He says he feels like a d*ck whenever his family ask to see our baby, because he can't give them an answer. I don't know why he can't say no to them. He says because they'll demand an answer. He doesn't know how to grey rock.
The problem is, I have made my feelings clear. It's like he forgets my feelings when he talks to or sees his family. I don't know why he has lost his spine. It's been constant since baby was born, he knows he can't please everyone yet he still feels like he is in the middle. I feel like he should be putting us first.
The final straw was today, when he took baby out to see his Dad who had arrived to pick him up for work. He stood in the road with her talking to him through his van window, then lifted baby up so he could kiss them. I was fuming. He brought baby back to me and I told him off. He said he forgot.
On the weekend, he asked again because MIL asked WHEN she can come over, not IF. He said to baby "I don't know if you'll ever see Grandma again". I left the room. He followed and said "I' doing it again aren't I?".
He knows he is a people pleaser. He knows we should come first. He has lost his spine and I don't know how to get him to grow it again. I feel so unhappy, and angry that my motherhood journey is being ruined.
I don't want to leave him, we are going to be moving away from the area in the next couple of years, not right now due to finances. He knows how toxic they are, and he is training for a new career so he can leave the family business. He's had other interviews they don't know about.
Leaving is the last option, if not only due to the fact I do not want him going over to his family with baby without me there, because he can't protect her.
I feel like his mother's surrogate. I'm not enjoying life here. I need to communicate this to him. Oh, I' m also on antidepressants because of all of this, following my stillbirth and pregnancy after loss. I'm' so tired and disappointed.

2024.05.16 13:39 JobHunter2 What is Christian Religious Education?

Introduction

Christian religious education is defined as the process where by Christian learning takes place. It often involves “teaching which enables practicing Christians to adopt and deepen their Christian belief, values and dispositions to experience and act in a Christian way. It depends to a greater extent on how this process is adopted and practiced in different churches.

Different practices in Christian education in local churches

At some degree of certainty that all Christian churches have a similar aim’s and practices. The liturgical aspect is of paramount importance in the Trinitarian belief and practices in that it serves as introduction to what Christianity is all about. This is where the process of Cognitive learning takes places it involves the worship service where hymns are sang, lessons extracted from the books of the bible are read, sermon often punctuated with exhortation, admonishment and instruction in righteous living is delivered and prayers are said. It also involves the celebration of the holy Eucharist which Jesus Christ himself, recognized as the head of the church, initiated based on experience acquired in the worship service, it can be seen as Christian religious education is a confessional churchly activity of evangelism, instruction and nurture.

I assure that “Youth are the most critical of all critics when it comes to religion”. Today, common inhabitants do pray and accept the holiness in church for Christ which they are aware that Christ constitutes the sacred bread and wine, but do not entirely act upon worshipping and fail to confront the thoughts and feelings to masses which would spread dignity of godliness among selves. The moral lies in the fact that this creates lackness to reach spiritual beliefs through worship and liturgy resulting in declination the faith which affects the divine nature approaching positivity.
Christian education is a vital important part in youth development. For Christian education to be explored, generation of today should be brought into contact through various practices. In the early centuries, reformers emphasized and trusted true faith and doctrines, to change and reform behaviour as the only solution for salvation in Christian education. Christian school movements prove a challenge as a messenger to convey god’s given mission and honour god.

Traditional approach

This approach was practiced since many decades and is still continued to be practiced which helps in binding and governing the ethics and morality within the religion and belief. Since beginning described, in leaving our homeland to teach the gospels throughout the world through scriptures, god conveyed his message – by sending his son Jesus for us, the Holy Spirit, the Holy Church, and Baptism for building unity.
Christianity consists of three things – Religious faith, way of life and community of mankind towards salvation are most important. The most vital of all belief preached is that there is only one god. The term Christian does not imply on the fact that a Christian should grow up in a Christian community, but precisely accepts Christian faith and belief, follows and leads the path of life on which Jesus walked on and made mankind accept Christian community through involvement and participation physically and mentally, as a result, traditional approach is how the local churches and preachers go about conducting their services. The apostle’s creed was apparently developed to summarize the Christian doctrine for man who baptised himself.

Theological and Biblical approach

This approach is regarded as an abstract discipline which teaches what bible is written. It is the study of god expressing god’s thought. The movement of bible indicates the doctrines to the kerygma to didache, to theological ethics, to revealed truth, to the way of living in Christian community.
God’s salvation to the world, worshipping the holy spirit, baptizing people in the name of god, preaching gospels as the word of god, share Christ’s own body and blood as bread and wine in holy communion, repenting and confessing god’s forgiveness etc are the concepts of theological and biblical foundation to Christian education. Even though mankind is aware but fail to involve due to the increasing evil and greed.
The service is organized to accept the call of god and to love him and others and which aims to gather people to worship him in return allowing him to take control over the world and through his presence spread peace, righteousness, justice, joy and helps in the growth of the life in an individual through increased faith.

Activities organized and performed in different local churches through to these practices

Some churches develop the initiative of the worshippers by confessing their faith in the words of the apostle creed. Each activity is correlated and composes a range of varied elements. Their current activities reflect the lives of an individual and drive them for a purpose through various numbers of activities to attain a better quality of life.
Due to activities, all age group gain variety of skills through many spiritual centred activities. Church acts as an interpreter between god and the worshippers to support in training the composition of these activities which are far more complex to solve a disturbed youth. They have to thereby standardize their curriculum and activities in regards to implement it. Different denominations organize activities to resolve the aim therefore to meet the need of the youth. Curriculum should be more focused than just on providing knowledge.
Activities are necessarily planned to build youth commitment. I believe it is necessary to reach them, i.e. train them to be strong future leaders. They should be kept one step ahead, for their life is very challenging. I believe that the best way to outreach youths mind is to be a youth like them to understand their psychology as it differs from every individual. The same activities do get affected as the youth is choosy and subtle.

Changing activities for tomorrow

Here the question is voiced that, what substantial change can be brought apart from the current activities to eradicate the above upcoming and dynamic problems in nature with respect to behavioural management or of what medication of healing would work out.
I would comment, the activities in the practices should be expanded and conduct likewise programmes workshops on educating purity before marriage, sex, child abuse, exploitation, rape, adultery, adolescence sex, teenage mothers, drugs addiction, aids, and divorce. Workshops, seminars for sex, abuse, peer mentoring, identifying preventive measures instead of curative measures targeting the social, political and the economical factors would be effective for incorporating the overall issues to bring the insight of the good and evil sides of every consequence, discussion on essential real life skills. Our goal is to create “world changers”, inviting the sacrifiers of evil and giving and sharing healthy priorities to save ourselves and the world, before it becomes a terrible fate and a debt for our own selves.
As the world is in unsafe fists of crime, terrorism, corruption, violence, youth have been diverted to a fast-paced and expects instant opportunities. Perhaps, the approaches of these local activities tend to be helpful and may bring positive results but I still feel that there is something missing, to monitor the youth from within. In an article – Practical: The Role of the Full-Time Youth Pastor in the Local Church, by Graeme Codrington, Denomination: Baptist (All), submitted on, May 18, 1997, states that, “In a world that is so busy, and demands so much of all of its inhabitants, young people need a secure environment, where they can experiment and decide who they want to be. They need significant people to be there to help them through this process. They need role models to follow”.
Above statement eventually satisfies the fact that these folks are craving for friendly support socially and for stimulation. Overall factors which conglomerate are peers, parents, teachers, church members and Christian community. All factors rely on one common feature which constitutes leadership. Ironically, most youth do understand the surrounding factors but the factors themselves become tough unknowingly that they can’t quite control the situation which then becomes too late to recover. The task is questioned commonly as what kind of leader a person should be to prove creditability and capability to influence the youth to pursue the direction towards god? In an article again stated by, Graeme Codrington, Denomination: Baptist (All), – Practical: The Role of the Full-Time Youth Pastor in the Local Church, submitted on, May 18, 1997, “Young people are not just “little adults” (cf. Elkind 1984:18). They are complex individuals who are battling to deal with the awesome transformation of their bodies, minds, and emotions. They are in a time of transition and growth, developing from the birthed bundle of potential to a fully integrated, functional member of society. The church is in a unique position to assist in this process”. Church as a role model fosters spiritual growth in every youth making them responsible to participate in Christian faith; she is a sign for an entrance of the god’s kingdom to the world of salvation, repentance, justice and peace to bring equality. She struggles hard and performs her duties wholly and solemnly reminds parents to structure their offspring’s life in Christian formation.
Church members acting as supporters, preach to establish and to promote a platform and share to encourage several types of civic, cultural, religious educational associations. In an article by Arthur Paul Boer – What must a Pastor know? Reflection on Congregational studies defines on writer James Hopewell’s statement saying beyond the embarrassment. “He has also observed that churches are sometimes chagrined by the change of hypocrisy and lament that they cannot measure upto ideals of Christian community”. Writer James Hopewell referred by Arthur Paul Boer notes that Christian leaders are incharge and build a church thereby rise in hypocrites. I observe practically that, though the world is changing, church strategy is also changing in complementing the growth. It still targets the set mission. Even though, somewhere in the corner hypocrites do exist but church leaders aim to find out what is the outcome in the people from the traditional, theological and biblical practices.
Perhaps according my research, I suggest they experiment bringing out good approaches to youth’s growth. Instead of the current activities followed in churches I would want to suggest the approach can be focused to bring in the outcome irrespective to exploration and innovation of ideas and thoughts for internal and external behaviour of an individual related to the surroundings around him, deepening of commitments to the teaching, provide opportunities to analyse socially and theologically and viewing his life in a theological manner. To build a framework of an activity consist of – to have an experience “like us”, to sense new boundaries by exploring new links to every Christian among themselves and to god across social and cultural boundaries.
In addition, exploration and inventive programmes can be executed to judge youth’s spirituality. Daily opportunities resulting in disorientation gets support through mission of god. Integration conceptual activities also can help in building and to capture ‘a born leader’. Church leader serves them as task leaders in the corrosion and freeing the task of a disconnected mind by planning tactics and dividing the burden of other’s through consultation. As the purpose is commitment, to serve the lost, skill based leadership formation training programmes can be organized to develop an effective leader so as to sustain the capability and capacity of the leader to solve the complaints lies in the dimensions of the ability. Workshops on intersections to shape boundaries of an individual and communities through theological and biblical language, symbols, and rituals to attain certain centered objectives.
As growth of globalization is tremendous, these leaders come across and face new opportunities and challenges. I believe they help in building an integral performance in conducting entrepreneurial business-based activities, describing the activities because youth’s mind is business-oriented, therefore the activities are to be structured keeping business in mind involving biblical and theological approaches with the existing resources for a business oriented youth. They tend to produce facilitate management sources to sustain and develop faith and love. When the youth develops a church from within, he will be able to observe and analyse the holistic environment.
The activities require presence of not only church members but also worshippers for youth development in successful implementation of these practices. Some worshippers form in small groups, some large varied to race culture. Arthur Paul Boer also examines simultaneously that when a group of pastors were having service of congregation, one among them exclaimed in deep breath “It showed me I’m not alone”. So often in our churches we berate ourselves for problems we face: not enough men, too few youth, preponderance of a certain race or culture. He is clear with the fact that a single person fails, unity increases strength. We ourselves give birth to a problem and then strive hard to face it because as there are few leaders left to catch a grip to support a large community. Due to less number of youth, less support is achieved to sustain the laws and policies of the church and unable to accomplish god’s mission. It is not only one who contributes but many. Above mentioned statement “It showed me I’m not alone” expresses that each race and culture form their own group; build small churches for their own community within their own boundaries, where god expects togetherness, wholeness. It requires lot of efforts to help small churches grow whereas large church with mass contribution grows as their already exist efforts in large numbers which take over the chained actions for development. Whether single church group or many, big or small, the development is important.
On this contradiction, I would suggest that this also includes that in small group the development is paid more attention and given a close eye, problems are spotted quickly and easily to meet the challenges. No matter how large or small challenges occur, the way we approach it is unique and comprehensive as this brings out effects of development in the youth. Whereas in large it becomes difficult to assist as there are more than one individuals. Due to small groups according to races and culture, differentiation exists. But the important criterion is group commitment and work effort in all sets of practice for congregations in any race or culture for a healthy youth so that to accomplish god’s mission. As a result both objectives are co-related to each other.
To understand the nature of Christian youth it is a very distinguished and a unique phenomenon. Due to the increasing issues of ‘peer pressure’, this has led to the obstruction in the development of youth. There are negative as well as positive aspects of it. Negative aspects influence a weaker mind. It is the most consistent findings revealed in observation. Due to the inquisitive innocence, an innocent becomes a prey of the negative aspect, thereby exploited and develops an evil companionship where he adopts negative qualities and habits. But there is positive aspects as in there are some groups who work towards peer relationship. Here innocent gets an opportunity to identify his fear, weakness and have control over his own power. The peer mentors play the part in organizing programmes to understand the behaviour. They interact with the teens and open lines of communication, build up action plans to change the behaviour by using the discipline skills wherever necessary. As church members play an integrate role, it is a challenge for them to develop the youth and make Christian education reachable to them.
Teachers are responsible preachers. Youth growth depends on a teacher infact they are the true facilitators of our learning, are Baptist figures and true authors of an individual’s life book. They also act as the resource developer and planner setting the curriculum for the healthy growth of an individual, depending how the curriculum is designed with the kind and level of leadership skills to recognize the youth psychology. Parents play a significant role in Christian education. They are the promising leaders which shape up Christianity, infact are the real teachers of Christian education. Parents act as a moral standard and support, therefore can synchronize to their growing youth to be aware from their early hood to gain knowledge in Christian faith and this is done when they themselves too experience a fullness of church.
Misunderstandings and miscommunication between parents and their children are one of the issues which follow breakings in the development of the youth. Due to parent’s own principles, for respect and love of family values often creates harmness to the children’s growth which tempts them to behave against them. Thus youth becomes a totalitarian of his own life by going against the values and ethics and unknowingly gets stucked in the torturous situations. Most Christian youth, fail to act upon the 10 commandments of bible.
I must say, I myself as a youth in my real life experience have observed that the originality of the commandments has changed excessively and replaced with the following:
Thou must worship money
Thou must “lyrically” murder
Thou must have evil possession
Thou must have sex
Thou must enjoy drug addiction
Thou must prosper, worship own self
Thou must not feel guilty
Thou must have no respect for ancestral values
Thou must not serve, sacrifice
Thou must differentiate
Due to the above, youth fails to feel guilty in which guiltness is a part of our conscience creating a false belief system as an obstacle in his maturity and creating structure of his own. Under such circumstances he avoids promoting prayer, sacrifice, grace, redemption, worship and meditation, atonement. Considering money and sex are the only two things reliable to satisfy the needs, creating a limitation and a boundary for establishing personal spiritual growth and development.
In general terms, when the efforts of religious and educational institutions, society lack to perform the planned task for Christian education, a positive approach is expected and constructed to gain knowledge and teaching through parents and teachers. Youth must be aware of guiltiness which is a gift from god to help us in being and doing well.
Still the question is raised in a Journal: Volume 5 Number 4, October 2003 by Author Charlene Tan, “Can Christian teachers and parents teach Christian beliefs without indoctrinating their students and children?”
Yes, they can teach Christian beliefs without indoctrinating their students and children they need to be careful when a child is to be handled as their minds are immature. At times it is difficult to understand them because their way of thinking is varied. Firstly before going to the next process, the first process has to be resolved. As teachers and parents are the role models for the development. In order to develop and understand these three role models should be systematically developed first. Only by abiding this rule, they can achieve the development in child. But the point lies beneath that how teachers and parents can prove themselves as an effective source of development by keeping in mind the relative factor of Child’s mind compatibility and psychology? As there are variations in psychological behavior teachers and parents should be mentally prepared, be changeable and adjustment oriented accordingly.
Our academic experts are ready and waiting to assist with any writing project you may have. From simple essay plans, through to full dissertations, you can guarantee we have a service perfectly matched to your needs.
The political and current affair of the nation is affected by corruption and evilness rationally which gave birth to vivid factors like jealousy, modesty and so on, making human’s built a tendency to mislead the positive factors. The situations have made the teachers adapt those inequalities within them, affecting the surrounding factors. Parents have too due to their increasing self priority created barriers of understanding among their families.
Many people are often drawn towards the attention of the church because of their felt needs and not for spiritual needs.
For instance, it does occur that why the youth is tuned out of his own way? Even in their interaction with their own members it tends to happen with them that they fail to hear a word said to them – stating “I didn’t hear a word you said?”, even though it is obvious that they have said something relating to us. This proves a kind of negligence in contacting the positive mechanism which grows in the back of our minds. Such system blocks all the wanted and useful messages allowing us to hear and see only what our mind tells us to hear and believe. As this tendency is increased in the youth generation, it is creating gaps between a believer and faith of god.
The question is – How? How can we overcome this problem? Youth have themselves developed a capacity in mind to hear only what pleasures them without taking a decision that whether it is false or truth. My query is – How we can bring these groups of youth closer to god? Unconsciously resulting in unexpected calamities and unknowingly they are unable to repent it wisely. Due to this increasing factor, youth can’t get a grip of effective communication and develop themselves internally. Here the parents then enter the scene to play their role.

The main question lies whether the local churches fulfill and meet to mature disciples in Christian education?

As stated above, ‘youth’ are the most critical of all critics when it comes to religion. In this modern era, youth is distracted to church because they are building castles in air due to the unmaterialistic desire. Youth today have focused their vision to crave success and prosperity for their rising life graph; they exploit their own ones due to greed and selfishness. During the primary phase of struggle and hard work, youth craves to achieve prosperity, at the same time, do thank god and accept his involvement for success, but hand in hand, lack to follow the bibles ethics which says to respect others in and with unity. Due to the competition and growth politically, more often youth seem to push the fellow mates and strive to takeover their place. They themselves are unaware that they give birth to exploitation and inequality. And due to inequality, unity is declined, wherein bible does not specify inequality. In a book source, Pastor – “Rick Warren’ – illustrates in his book – The Purpose-Driven Church -“The issue is church health, not church growth!” declares warren. “if your church is healthy, growth will occur naturally. Healthy consistent growth is the result of balancing the five biblical purposes of the church.”
In addition to this he also declares that “If u concentrate on building people, God will build the church”.
I agree at a certain point with the above statement. I herewith would want to magnify on “How would one build a healthy youth for a healthy church”? In this sense I believe that both are co-related with each other. Again the issue arises in my mind ‘How will the church be healthy if the youth is unhealthy?’ The issue can’t be only concentrated on church. For a church to survive, the basic foundation is the youth and for the youth to be saved and attracted the church has to be healthy. In my knowledge it is a ‘Vicious Circle’.
Local churches upto some extent do specifically fulfill the discipleship through the practices and play a great emphasis in fulfilling and conveying the message of god to us, but still lack to read the minds and bring the youth closer to her, for which she has to upgrade her atmospheric appearance with new packages to reach the youth in a new taste due to the competitive modernism which is hovering on the youth.
The latter part can play the best part coz when first falls in place, everything else falls in place, from the beginning to the end, from all angles in all walks of life. Towards a healthy faith, healthy church can turn and seed a growth of spirituality through which mankind will grow spiritually from within thereby causing church growth.
Author Perry G. Down states in his book – “Teaching for spiritual growth” that ‘how can we best enable Christians to grow towards maturity?’ For this question he suggests three key concepts- ministry, believer, and purpose. But my understanding says that these concepts are incomplete somewhere to create a bond in reaching the results because today’s youth is attracted towards the unrealistic worldly matters, but has resulted in declination towards the god’s spiritual growth. The major role connecting these three concepts is commitment and effort. As the church ministry is the foundation pillar, the main aim is how much measure of commitment is valued and given to achieve the target successfully. Mankind is able to commit only when he chooses the right direction in fear and is able but this is unfortunate as the alien world tend to let us unidentify the type of strategies of growth for maturity. By identifying the type of strategies of growth, we can understand the level of growth required towards maturity at which we can be spiritual. Another reason for in growth is fear. As the youth fears to face unexpected problems, the efforts are less and require the hierarchy’s support.
Author Gary C. Newton stated in his book – “Going towards spiritual maturity” quotes the principle that “God is ultimately responsible for all spiritual growth”. The question arises at this point that if god is responsible for everything, what will be the purpose and role of human? I comment that while god supplies the resources like bible, church, Holy Spirit, baptism, it is also our responsibility to supply effort and commitment to utilize those resources and give results to god. In bible, Paul highlights this principle of his personal lifestyle and in his teachings comparing with the example of a soldier or athlete to illustrate the amount of sincerity and efforts. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27), Paul states that “In a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize”. I herewith conclude in a Christian race all runners (ministry, believers, purpose) will fail to get a prize if there is no effort that is commitment from everyone.
Along with the concept of ministry, believer, purpose; effort is also the key concept and it has to be achieved from the youth as well. A healthy youth will gain efforts only when the growth will favour them from within, when the forces of the ministry believers and youth will collide with each other to form a healthy growth.
This will create a mutual relationship between god’s provisional resources and our active involvement in process which is more clearly in Philippians 2:12-13: “Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is god who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose”. This principle is intricate but the application is clear.
If one is to grow towards maturity in Christ then one must cultivate and demonstrate the efforts with passion, Philippians 2:17-18: ” But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service coming from your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you be glad and rejoice with me”.
Therefore the conclusion lies in the above concept, both; effort of the youth along with the work of ministry, believers proves in the healthiness of the church. In the book “Youth At Risk” by Peter Christian Olsen, 2003, he highlights four basic needs which he has clearly created an awareness of the effects that affects the development of youth:
Acceptance – belonging
New beginnings and second chances – forgiveness
Significance – generosity
Freedom – independence
I agree with his confirmation that he examines in deriving the above developmental needs from the provision of the Almighty’s resources as the absence of these needs do intentionally contribute in how they shape the personality, maturity, responsibility and stability of emotions. He emphasizes Christian community in respond to the needs determining that, the resources will be polishing youth through support during the fear and avoid them from destruction. At times the concepts will be foreign, indigestive for youth because unable to realize its importance. Rather the community need not re-interpret or change the language but simplify their thoughts and improve their visionary and understanding by change in structure through a friendly communication by becoming an effective leader to bridge the gap between the church and the youth. Therefore forces and efforts are needed for decision making which is an effective key in respond to ministry believer and purpose for a possibility of a healthy youth to build a healthy church, which will make the church flourish.

Supporting surveys

According to a survey, some findings proved that church fails to answer every question of the youth.

Q.1 In what way and sense is Christian religion, faith and church viewed by today’s modern youth?

Youth of today’s modern era is firm on the point stating that inspiration is lacked in religion; they feel that the world is divided through religion and is the major factor which is affecting the growth. A 17-year-old Jude from Kent says confidently that “He does not agree with the church who talks on subject morality” and is “Overfilled with traditionality”.
Youth pick their ideas which suit their taste through various religious beliefs. There are few in bunch who strongly believe, there exist only single religion which has controlled the truth. Young generation refer to perform all activities as per their own desire which in return less importance to the religious belief are being given, which gives birth to the side effects of the conduct.

Q.2 Why do young crowd feel that Christianity is not a ‘happening’ cultural activity?

An 18-year-old Marcus said that he left church when he was 15 because the teachings did not amuse him and it did not interest him of anything as a youth.
The major quest, a struggle for a religion is to impose an exertion of force of involvement in terms of attraction. I usually attend church service wherein I find young ones missing the services. I kept questioning myself that, where the young crowd has disappeared? Surprisingly the young ones have taken charge for the attendance of the church. In this consequence the church should give priority to change its curriculum and its way of presenting the services with new attractive packages for enhancement.

Q.3 Are the young preachers practicing different approaches in Christianity declining. What are your suggestions?

As the attendance of the youth in church has declined, but on the other hand people practicing approaches are increasing in numbers. The following is revealed through one of the youths that more the deepening are the studies of the bible, more a person becomes a hypocrite of the Christian leadership and unintentionally accepts and performs the lifestyle of the clergy right or wrong at times unknowingly. In such case, the practices are affected and become different from those which are to be precise. Seen are still some true Christian youngsters who are different in their attitude and conduct, but in spite of such difference, they are not involved into the immorality and violence activities with other youths. They present themselves as they are from a different unknown religion, but practice the religion and it

2024.05.16 13:30 Electronic-Cod3685 I quit after 3 days…

sooo pretty much what the title says, i should have known by the first day that this place was a huge red flag when the gm yelled at the girl training me. When starting this job i told them i had experience running and register and doing mobile orders, i said ive never done drive thru before. The second day i was there they put me on drive thru, it was so hard to hear customers through the headset and the girl training me left me when i needed help, and when i needed help she got pissed off. the third day i came in i worked with the same girl and she had the same attitude, i needed help and she wasn’t there. The gm came in that day and started yelling at me, and for what??? Reasons why i got yelled at:
1) i didn’t make sodas fast enough
2) i was waiting for the food to be put into the bag so i could hand it out, she said i was doing nothing
3) the lemonade in the freestyle soda machine ran out so i used the natural lemonade (i didn’t know it was that serious i’m sorry also i was never taught how tf to switch out the box things)
My gm was like “oh i’ll yell at you til i make you cry” i was like wtf is wrong with this place. the gm said she was like 65 or something. How miserable do you have to be to want to make you employees cry. anyways i will say this in her exact words, me, my gm, and the girl training me all had headsets, they were talking about customers and the gm referred to them as “down syndrome retards” i was in shock which how she talked about customers, these customers weren’t even rude. Anyways last part is, while my sister was waiting for me outside, she saw my gm, the cook, and another guy outside smoking, she rolled down the window cuz she had a feeling they were shit talking, and turns out it was about me!! The new girl!! saying “these types of girls never last” wellll i made her wish come true cuz i in fact did not last and did not come back, did not even give a warning. Idk if im hella overreacting but my previous job never treated me like that, and i was there for 3 years.
ps. i had to repeat how to say my name over 10 times and they still didn’t bother to say it right. it was disrespectful and it’s not that hard.

2024.05.16 13:29 Signal-Ad-8156 Don’t know how I deescalated the fight but I feel weak for some reason

Hey everyone, most stupid thing happen to me last evening, I almost got into a street fight with a teenager.
Back story: me 26m and my gf 22 where walking as 2 kids around the age 15-17 passed by on electric scooters in a dark valley. They stopped behind as and started staring and my partner’s ass.
I don’t know why, but I just pointed with my finger at one of them (not sure why I thought it would be funny) and all of a sudden he got really agressive and I couldn’t stop myself from being agressive too and he said something along the line of “want me to come?” To which I replied “yes” and he repeated “are you sure?” And I said “yes” and than he drove off and I took my gf to a more lighted area where more people are present in front of a mall.
He came back and stopped in front of us.
A skinny kid with a helmet on so I couldn’t read his face. My gf reaction was immediately screaming at him saying “who do you think you are/ how old are you even”
I was very nervous, I’ve been training boxing and Krav Maga in the past for years and always been the best in my class but never completed in professional fights and I can count on one hand how many real fights I had.
I was 100% sure I can take both of them but I was still afraid. I was feeling the adrenaline in my body, my hands where shaking and I felt my heart exploding. And I felt like I can’t speak, my face muscle where shaking as well. I felt stupid for dragging myself and my gf into this and watching her protecting me like that.
I started breathing a little while holding my gf who went crazy on that kid yelling at him and getting very close to him.
Than I saw the guy checking his phone massages (I believe he waited for backup) didn’t make any eye contact with me He was very quiet and didn’t say a word the whole time he was in front of me. His friends where standing a few feet’s away. I later heard from my gf there was a third guy on a motorcycle.
I said to my gf “I’m talking with him right now “ “let us speak”
While trying to breath because I felt short of breath.
I touched his hand to grab his attention as they where right info of my on the scooter
Than I said something along the line of “look when I pointed at you I thought that was funny but I didn’t like the way you looked at my gf”
He said “I didn’t look at your gf” So I said “if that’s the case than I probably miss read the situation”
So he just turn around and without saying anything and that’s how it all ended.
I’m not sure why he wasn’t agressive anymore , why he didn’t own his actions, why he was so quite when he came back? Why he just turned around and left? Was he afraid all of a sudden?
Maybe because when he came closer he saw I’m much older and taller 6’3 and his friends standing from a far made him feel vulnerable.
My gf thinks that she scared him off although I find it unrealistic.
From your experience What do you think happen?
I glad It didn’t get into something serious. That was foolish of me but I feel weak that although my gf said I just looked calm and assertive…

2024.05.16 12:54 Zothic Tips for travelling with someone who has a serious allergy?

Hi all. I'll be visiting Japan in June with my partner, who's got decently serious allergies to all nuts, wheat, barley, buckwheat, tomato and dairy. We'll be staying primarily in Tokyo and Kyoto, with some day trips to Nara and Osaka.
It's not so bad that prep stations need to be decontaminated or anything, but if she consumes any notable amount of those ingredients she can get quite sick including needing an epipen/hospitalisation.
I'm currently putting together allergy cards in Japanese that detail her allergies in as polite a way as possible that I hope to be able to hand to wait staff and have them maybe recommend something she can eat? But I was wondering if you guys had any more advice/tips - Especially in terms of classic "easy" food like takoyaki, taiyaki, various kinds of ramen and so on - things to look out for that would fit her dietary needs or even specific restaurant recs? We'll be staying primarily in the Shinjuku area in Tokyo and near the Kyoto train station.
Would really appreciate any advice anyone can give.

2024.05.16 12:49 AncientBattleCat She left me because of Islam.

Long story short I am 33 I met this girl of 23 , and I swear by Allah I've never felt so connected. First day we meet at 15:00 went home at around 23:00. She was so kind to me, and ... I can go and on. Anyway she said she doesn't want to deal with me and Islam thing. I felt like train hit me at 130 mph. It felt like I was burning inside. I spent YEARS in complete solitude. In fact, I was rejected by so many girls that I have really gave up on a thing altogether. Couple of months passed, I accepted the job offer thousand kilometers away just to forget her. But she left mile long scar deep in my heart. Still ,to my embarrassment I get teary eye when I think of her. She loved and cared about me like no one else did. I just cope day to day. At metro, at job, on the streets.

2024.05.16 12:47 Primary_Warthog_5308 I am perpetually exhausted all the time trying to do everything

I am exhausted all the time trying to do everything. I have been trying to wake up at 5 am to do a short workout during the week before work, which is great except I pass out in the evening. Like we’re talking 8 pm. Then my husband gets upset for having to put out 4 year old to bed.
Recently I’ve been skipping some workouts and sleeping more so I can have energy in the evenings. I still pass out, but it’s after our child goes to bed. Now my husband is trying to encourage me to be more disciplined and workout and not loose my progress. I get where he’s coming from, my father died in his 50s of a heart attack so I don’t have the best genetics.
I think I might be tired as well due to stress. I started a new job in March and it’s been a ride. A few weeks in, the part time admin quit and I was stuck doing the work of 2 people for a month. My workplace was supportive and did help me but it was a lot. We have hired a new person, but I’m still training her. It’ll probably be another month before things calm down and we find a rhythm.
Because of this I’ve been doing extra hours at work. I’m starting to cut back to my 35 hours a week that I should be working. (I’ve probably been working around 40 hours.) My husband complains our child spends too much time at daycare, but he can’t do pick up or drop off because his work hours constantly change. He has a good job but low seniority so he gets really long shifts at work. His days off vary so if our child needs any doctor’s appointments or anything like that it falls on me. My work has been very understanding but it’s hard being the only one that can do appointments. A lot of the mental load is on me. Shopping for shoes for our child, hair cuts (for our child, I haven’t gotten a haircut in months), taking my elderly cat to the vet for monthly arthritis shots. My husband does what he can but with the nature of his schedule a lot falls on me.
My mother has a rare autoimmune disease as well. She just got diagnosed in December but started experiencing symptoms in September. She’s getting better now, but for a long time she couldn’t drive or anything by herself. She needed a lot of help and a lot fell on my sister. I have tried to help the best I can but between having a young child, living in the county, managing my family, and starting a new job I haven’t been able to help as much as she would like. I feel bad because a lot has fallen on her for her whole life. We’re just in different stages of life. Her children are in high school and university while mine is only 4 and as I’ve said a lot falls on me. I’ve been going over once a week to help my mom with stuff but next week I told my mom I can’t come because I’m finally going to go pick out my glasses. I went to the optometrist like a month and a half ago but couldn’t stay to pick out my glasses because I had to help my mom and haven’t been able to go back. My glasses are so old and worn the finish has started to come off the lenses. I offered to come help next Saturday but my sister is taking her shopping that day. She wanted me to come this Saturday, but I have my cat’s injection and the vet books up on Saturday so I can’t reschedule that.
This post ended up being much longer than I anticipated. I don’t know if there’s any point to this. I’m struggling to find balance in my life.

2024.05.16 12:45 BrooklynYo Dog trainer recommendations, Help!

Small family really struggling with 2 out of control Staffies. Will give plenty of information below.
Bit of context, my partner and I have had our dogs for about 10 years. They were always a bit of a handful, a little bit naughty from time to time as staffies could be but overall we loved them and they were still our world. One of the staffies we’ll call staffy 1 has severe separation anxiety and is extremely food obsessed plus the naughtier one out the two and will continuously bark and howl if he’s anywhere near us but can’t get to our feet. We can’t even talk to the neighbours out the front of our house without him trying to run through a door or gate to try and get to us. It’s embarrassing and infuriating and I’ll find myself avoiding the neighbours or spending time out the front as I know he won’t stop carrying on until I’m back. When we get home whenever it is he’ll continuously bark at us until we’re able to get close enough to greet him and the other problem is he’s now making our other staffy follow his lead and act the same way. He’ll stalk our kids and do anything to get there food, put him outside and he’ll bark and howl for as long as it takes until we let him back in. Tell him to get on his bed (which he does) turn our back and he’s away again. We’ve lost control of him and the disobedience drives us wild.
We’ve stopped inviting any guests around to our house because staffy 1 will constantly attack (in a playful way) staffy 2 and will continuously try and hump staffy 2 and won’t let her get anywhere near whoever is in our home. Anyone outside our family who enters our home sends staffy 1 stupid even after we give him tramadol. I honestly thought he’d grow out of it but he’s 10 and acts like a puppy still. Put them outside and it’s like a war between them trying to get back inside the house to us and our guests and myself and my partner are deep down raging at them and can’t relax or enjoy the company of our guests.
The second staffy (number 2) is a really kind natured and beautiful dog with any human, unfortunately she was attacked at a park when she was younger and ever since then has been extremely reactive and wants to attack any dog that is in her vicinity. Our neighbours have a dog next door and we are constantly having to break up these fights that happen at our fence between our dogs and there’s, it’s honestly exhausting.
Over the last week or so one of them has just started pissing inside the house, even tho they’re both toilet trained and for forever have let us know when they need to go to the toilet! My 4 year old slipped over on one of them tonight and bit his tongue.. This was the last straw for which I’m starting to seek help.
I’m too loyal to them to get rid of them and I honestly couldn’t live with myself at the thought of them having to adjust to a new home so we’re basically just stuck in this repetitive cycle of yelling at our dogs everyday, getting triggered as soon as we walk in the door and them fucking up our house and backyard.
Please I’m not looking for any piss takers, I know this could seem funny to some people but we’re just two parents with two young kids trying to get by and live in peace. For which we currently are unable to.
We have tried drugs thats supposed to calm them, didn’t really work plus I didn’t like seeing them zonked like zombies. Can’t walk them because they go crazy at other dogs plus having them in the car is an absolute nightmare. Have tried basic training at home with treats etc but we weren’t successful and don’t even know where to begin trying to untrain some of these horrible habits they both have.
Any recommendations for trainers or advice is very much welcomed, thanks for reading.

2024.05.16 12:42 Responsible-North234 A Big Change From The Novels

The show kind of made the Starks more rustic than they where in the books. House Stark in the novels where not as wealthy as the Lannister's but they where a lot wealthier than the show.
First lets look at what they wear in the books which is nothing like there costumes in the show.
Side note Lord Rickard owned Steel armour and gold spurs.
When Arya is packing to go to Kings Landing she files where chest with silk and Sansa is fond of blue silk.
In Kings Landing Eddard looked nothing like what he did in the show, he always wore what he called his council silk. Ned also commissions a new uniform for his guards. Long cloaks of heavy grey wool decorated with white satin borders. Their cloaks are pinned with hands of beaten silver representing there Lords office as hand of the King. When he was on the Iron Throne Ned wore a white double embosomed with a grey dire wolf.
In Winterfell at the feast welcoming the King and Royal Family they all dressed grandly, including Benjen Stark. There are high born brothers in the Nights Witch from the north and south and I have never seen one dressed as well as Benjen at that feast, not even Lord Commander Mormont himself. He wears rich black velvet high black leather boots. His wide belt has a silver buckle and very heavy silver chain.
When Bran is attacked by Wildlings he is attacked for what he is wearing and he is second legitimate son and he is wearing a wolfs head broch of silver and jet. Jet is a gemstone and this is not a formal event this is just outriding in the woods.
Jon wears fine blacks and mole skin gloves which would not be cheap. At Winterfell harvest feast Bran is dressed quote, as befits a Prince and Robb wears a bronze crown and Catelyn describes her sons royal Kingly attire as quote magnificent.
Also Theon Greyjoy dressed very well when he was living with Stark in silk and Gold and Balon fears the Starks have made him soft. I doubt Greyjoy money was funding Theon's extravagant lifestyle. When he takes Winterfell he crowns himself Prince of Winterfell and orders and orders a new crown forged with black diamonds and chunks of gold. Where did he get the gold and diamonds if not from Winterfell's plundered treasury. And before Winterfell Bran and Luwin gave the Manderley's gold and build a royal fleet and mint coins.
At the Winterfell harvest feast
Now lets look at Winterfell it is much bigger and much grander than in the show this is a Castle built of granite which is an opulent martial.
Winterfell is a huge castle complex spanning several acres and encircled by two massive granite walls.
Remember the Castle is built over natural hot springs and as the wiki explains.
The water is piped through walls and chambers to heat them, making Winterfell more comfortable than other castles during the harsh northern winters.
Also from the wiki
Inside the walls, the complex is composed of dozens of courtyards and small open spaces. Weapons training and practice take place in those yards. The inner ward is a second, much older open space in the castle where archery practice takes place. It is located next to the broken tower. Inside Winterfell stands the inner castle, which contains the Great Keep and the Great Hall. Winterfell's towers and halls have diamond-shaped window panes.[6]
Inner Castle
The Great Keep is the innermost castle and stronghold of the castle complex. It was built over natural hot springs to keep it warm.[5] The Great Keep contains bedchambers for House Stark[5] as well as the solar of Lord Eddard Stark.[7] The building is connected to the armory by a covered bridge.[8] From a window on the covered bridge, one can see the entire yard.[9] Beneath the Great Keep are cellars with narrow windows.[10]
The Great Hall is used for receiving guests and the place where the household dines together, including the Lord of Winterfell. It is made of grey stone[11] and has wide doors made of oak and iron,[12] which opens to the castle yard, and a rear exit leads to a dimly-lit gallery.[12] Inside it can hold eight long rows of trestle tables, four to each side of the central aisle,[12] and the hall can seat five hundred people.[13] There is a raised platform for noble guests, and the walls are covered with banners.[11] The hall contains the high seat of the old Kings in the North. The seat's cold stone has been polished by the many lords who have sat upon it, and its massive arms are decorated with the carved heads of snarling direwolves.[14][15]
The small sept was built for Lady Catelyn Tully, a southron, by her husband, Lord Eddard.[16]
Courtyard and Other Buildings
The First Keep, a squat and round drum tower, is the oldest surviving part of the castle but is no longer in use. Around it lies a lichyard where the Kings of Winter would bury their loyal servants. The keep has gargoyles atop it.[17][6] Maester Kennet determined it was built after the Andals arrived.[18]
The broken tower, also known as the Burned Tower, was once the tallest watchtower in Winterfell. Over 140 years ago a lightning strike set it afire and the top third collapsed inward, but no one rebuilt it.[19][20] It stands behind the old inner ward. Crows nest atop the broken tower.[19]
The ancient godswood of Winterfell has stood untouched for ten thousand years, with three acres of old packed earth and close-together trees creating a dense canopy, which the castle was built around. At the center of the grove stands an ancient weirwood with a face carved into it, standing over a pool of black water.[16] Across the godswood from the heart tree, beneath the windows of the Guest House, an underground hot spring feeds three small pools, with a moss-covered wall looming above them. The godswood is enclosed by walls, and is accessed by a main iron gate, or smaller wooden ones.
The Glass Gardens[21] is a greenhouse heated by the hot springs, which turn it into a place of moist warmth.[5] It is used to grow fruits, vegetables, and flowers.[9][22] The garden has green and yellow glass panes[10] locked in frames.[8]
The crypt of Winterfell, located near the First Keep, is where members of House Stark are buried. The underground crypts are long and narrow, with pillars moving two by two along its length. Between pillars stand the sepulchers of the Starks of Winterfell, the likenesses of the dead seated on thrones, with iron swords set before them to keep the restless spirits from wandering, and snarling direwolves at their feet. The crypts are deep under the earth, cavernous and bigger than the complex above ground. They are accessed by a twisting stone stair and a huge ironwood door that lies at a slant to the floor. The stair continues below to older levels where the most ancient Kings in the North are entombed.[23][17][10]
The Bell Tower is connected to the rookery by a bridge. The bridge is covered and runs from the fourth floor of the tower to the second floor of the rookery.[6][8]
The maester's turret is below the rookery.[24]
The Library Tower houses the library at Winterfell. A stonework staircase winds about its exterior.[8]
The Guards Hall is in line with the Bell Tower, and further back, the First Keep.[6]
Winterfell has undercrofts and cellars.[25] The castle also has dungeons,[25] including tower cells.[26]
Walls
Winterfell is a huge castle complex spanning several acres, defended by two massive walls of grey granite with a wide moat between them.[4] The outer wall is eighty feet high, while the inner is one hundred feet high.[4] There are guard turrets on the outer wall and more than thirty watch turrets on the crenelated inner walls.
The great main gates[7] have a gatehouse made of two huge crenelated bulwarks which flank the arched gate[8] and a drawbridge that opens into the market square of the winter town.[27][28]
There is a narrow tunnel inside of the inner wall stretching halfway around the castle, allowing travel from the south gate all the way to the north gate without interruption.[19]
When Jon Snow becomes Lord Commander of the Nights Watch he considers building a glass building but thinks it will be costly and for such fine glass he would need to look Myr and by the freedom of a few glass makers.
We know Sansa loves lemon cakes and lemon trees do not grow naturally in the north importing lemon seeds to Winterfell from the reach or Doren would not be cheap. My guess would be the seeds came form Doren as one need only sail up the narrow sea than the up the White Knife.
Finally Maester Luwin has his own turret and mentions having servents of his own. The Starks top servants have servants
Not as wealthy as the Lannister but it clear Ned and Robb after him where unlike in the show 2 of the wealthiest man in the world.

2024.05.16 12:21 Jon-Bones-Jones_ Agencies posing as UNICEF/UNESCO Volunteers in the cities collecting money for commission.

I've been seeing a lot of UNICEF /UNESCO people on roads, pvr, malls literally everywhere trying to sign you up.
The money they collect all go into their salaries and their management. Very sure most of the money you donate isnt reaching the needy.
These people are hired by a few small organization One such is Focus organization which I've seen in coimbatore.
Here is my experience. They once sent me an email for a walk in interview as a business associate in coimbatore.
When i arrived, it was a run down building and on the third floor there was a small room and a dirty, office chair where I saw many of the people working there was taking photos wearing a suit that was passed around.
After the interview they were boasting that they were working with American express, Mercedes etc and you can choose whatever they want.
Then they made us learn a script in Tamil by heart and practice it. Before that they played loud music and made people dance to bring them to ease.
After the script you have to repeat it back to the leaders and they correct you in how to adjust the tone to manipulate and get the sympathy of the people.
Then they make these new hires go with one of their guys into the streets and then started going into shops malls, even colleges and reiterate the script.
Most funny thing was that they were showing a list of names with performers and there was a guy with the last name Bajaj. The owner of this place Dandu Dinesh said that this guy is from the Bajaj family and has a ton of money, but wanted to do his own business so he came to work with their begging scam.
They still lie and hire people with fancy names like business associate and that after 2 years they'll help you start your own business and all.
At the time they were collecting money for SOS organization. But I'm sure a large chunks of the money collected is going into their own pockets as I contacted SOS directly and they confirmed that these guys are taking out huge commissions.
Focus management was the name of this scam organization.
Person acting as HR was Divya
Owner was some Dandu Dinesh.
I quit in the same day and was pissed off. This Dandu even had the nerve to tell me if I'm looking for other jobs, he had contacts with AMEX and all and that he can refer me.
They are scammers. They make money in the name of charity. Nothing less that frauds.
Oh and one more thing. Majority of the staff I saw there were females. I think they're using females to manipulate guys into paying as I myself signed up for this subscription an year later in kerala without knowing it was them. A girl called me and sounded genuine. Said that she was working and is volunteering for the NGO.
I heard that they were looking to expand this thing to every city and later heard that they moved to kerala as well.
From another post in Bengaluru sub, i got to know that it was again Focus organization that is behind this as well.
If you see more two or more approaching you as a group, it means there is a leader in that pack who's training the noobs with him. That's how it goes. They sent out these people under the supervision of an experienced person to make sure that they don't message up their script.
SO BEWARE. AVOID THESE SCAMSTERS. DONATE TO A CHARITY YOU KNOW VERY WELL AND NOT VIA THESE AGENTS.
Edit: as another user shared here, the name name of Focus organization in kochi is Naval incorporation. There's another one called mettle minds as well.
https://www.google.com/search?kgmid=/g/11gmw2y0kh&hl=en-IN&q=Naval+Incorporation&kgs=af3d115266ef3bab&shndl=30&shem=lrnole&source=sh/x/loc/osrp/m5/2
This is the company actually sending these people out to collect the money.
But all of them are instructed to not show the I'd card from their organization They'll claim they workdirecy with UNICEF OR UNESCO, but they're working with these agency leeches.
Next time you can ask them who they ACTUALLY work for.
And apparently, this DANDU DINESH I talked about, is now in kochi in the company called Naval incorporation
Check out their kochi branch insta page https://www.instagram.com/p/C6f2-poiio7/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
All this money is coming out of your pockets, the money you are donating to charity.
They in kochi, conduct interviews weekly and are hiring more people. Thanks u/slattmallu for sharing the insights. They're also planning to expand to kannur. So if anybody can share this to your friends, we can stop these SCAMSTERS.
As you can see in their insta and FB pages, all the money you donate are going into their parties, their salaries and management as commission
Even though you are paying directly on UNESCOs websites, they are receiving the commission for each signup.
They have tens of thousands of people working for them in South India atleast

2024.05.16 12:19 franconot-mark Tiffany Stratton

I don’t know why people aren’t talking about it? Is it because she’s an IWC favorite? She’s a problematic person. She might be a good wrestler and hot too but for a company like WWE, she could be a pain in the arse with all her stunts on social media. I think she needs to be given a diversity training

2024.05.16 11:27 Peaceful-Samurai Getting old is a disease

Yesterday I was browsing Reddit when I saw a post of former US president Jimmy Carter. He is 99 years old and looked extremely old. The photo triggered so many anxious feelings in me. It reminded me that one day I will suffer the same fate. Not just me, but my favourite people as well. I also saw a photo of Jimmy Carter attending his wife’s funeral. It immediately made me think of one of my favourite artists, Olivia Rodrigo.
Olivia has a boyfriend named Louis. It made me imagine them 70 years from now. In 70 years, Olivia will be 91. By that time, she might no longer be alive. I started imagining Louis attending her funeral while sitting in a wheelchair, just like Jimmy Carter attending his wife’s funeral while sitting in a wheelchair. I just can’t accept that this will one day be reality. I also thought of my childhood artist, Justin Bieber. I don’t want my favourite artists to die.
This is why we have to achieve LEV as soon as possible. AGI/ASI has to happen soon. If we gathered all of the best scientists in the world with one purpose: to cure aging, then I think we’d be able to cure it in a few decades. But the problem is that aging is seen as something normal, which is why the government isn’t trying to cure it. The only people trying to cure it are private companies run by people such as David Sinclair.
My dream is to live long enough to experience the 2100s while still being young and physically healthy. I don’t want to be old and frail by that time. I’m currently 23 and live in Sweden. I have an interest in travelling and would like to be alive in the future when there are maglev trains in Sweden. I want my favourite people to still be alive as well. This includes celebrities and family members. I would like to live until the 3000s if possible.
My predictions are AGI 2040, ASI 2060 and LEV 2200. Even if we achieve ASI, I think aging will still take a long time to cure. It’s such a complicated process. Some people think LEV will be achieved in 2050. The thing is that even if we achieve LEV, that doesn’t mean everyone will live forever. There are still factors that will age us faster, such as diet and lifestyle. Which is why I train at the gym. I want to slow down the aging process as much as possible.
Do you guys agree that aging is a disease?

2024.05.16 11:24 Writteninsanity Splitting Seconds: Chapter 1 - Blind Dates (The Superpower Soulmates Story)

It candidly sucked being surrounded by constant reminders that you’d lost the genetic lottery. Sure, it was easier than some people thought to get around the world without powers; it wasn’t like the government expected everyone to be a speedster or to be able to fly. Hell, a hundred years ago, nobody even had powers. The infrastructure was there. Life went on.
That said, staying cheery about the hand I’d been dealt was difficult. Enhanced perception was useful for a lot of things, from party tricks to always reading the fine print, but next to flight? Next to teleportation?
I’d gotten hung up on movement powers because I’d taken the bus to the bar, and the only superpower buses had was being late.
I was specifically at the bar for the sake of a blind date set up by my best friend; Todd was about two times my size and could throw a car across the street. His powers did nothing to help me with his current obsession with my dating life, but here we were. I supposed it was a fair obsession. I hadn’t been trying.
It honestly made sense that Todd had been keenly aware of romance since he’d met his soul mate. See, a strange thing with powers was that when you were around your soulmate, they were inexplicably stronger. Todd had met Soo-jung when she’d been on vacation in Crescent three years ago. They’d been inseparable since, and he’d been able to throw a car down three blocks instead of across the street.
Or so he claimed. Nobody was eager to volunteer their car for a demonstration, or anything else heavy and expensive, for that matter.
For my part, I hadn’t spent a lot of time guessing what would happen if I met my soulmate. It was a common train of thought for some, but I never found that it stopped at any fun stations. Instead, I indulged Todd’s meddling because he was my friend and bad dates at least made good stories.
“Gimme a sec, I’ll grab us another round,” Todd announced as he pushed out from our table. “Emma said she’s going to be here soon.”
“You bought the last one.”
“Yeah, now you can buy two in a row once Emma gets here and look generous. Think about it, man.”
“Sure,” I answered, but Todd was already walking away from the table and toward the bar.
Soo-jung leaned in. “You know he’s trying, right?”
“I know, maybe a little too much.”
“You don’t hear the half of it.”
“Oh, good.”
“I had to tell him to calm down when it came to buttering you up to Emma,” Soo-jung explained as she took a sip from her drink. “Sometimes I wonder about him.”
“I’m surprised he says anything nice about me.”
“He’d never say it to your face.” She watched Todd at the bar instead of looking at me during our conversation.
“Does that mean you’ll do it for him?”
“He trusts me to keep his secrets.”
“How about I suggest things and read your reaction?” I asked.
Soo-jung frowned in response before she pointedly rolled her eyes. She knew that reading reactions was one of my party tricks. If you couldn’t be powerful, you could at least read a room.
“Okay, fine. What do you know about Emma?”
“Her last name’s Tavish.”
“That’s it?”
“She works with Todd.”
“I knew that. He kept telling me she was a co-worker.”
“Todd thinks she’s cute.”
“He told you that?”
“No, but he has high standards for you.”
“That’s all the detail you have?”
“Todd’s not allowed to talk about work at hom- Hey, honey.”
Todd was back at the table holding all three pints in one arm; he passed one to each of us despite Soo being less than halfway finished with her current drink. Once he’d finished distributing, he turned to Soo-jung and asked her a question in broken Korean.
He’d been trying to learn, and he was still struggling. Not that I knew the language.
“Yes,” Soo-jung responded in English, “we were talking about Emma; no Korean around Toby. It’s rude.”
“I thought you wanted me to practice?”
“You can practice at home.”
“So we were talking about Emma,” Todd jumped back to the previous topic instead of discussing his inconsistent study of Korean. “Awesome woman, perfect for you, man.”
“What makes you say that?” I asked.
“Oh, she sucks too.”
“Ah, thanks.”
“He means powers-wise,” Soo-jung stepped in.
“So you do know something about her,” I pointed out.
“Something? I’ve been telling Soo everything since we got in the car to come here.” Just as Todd finished, he flinched. Soo had kicked him under the table. “But it wasn’t much, really.”
“What do I get to know?”
“I don’t want to taint your expectations.” He pushed his empty glass away, swapping it with the new one. “But can I be serious for a second?”
I considered it. “Sure.”
“She’s like my boss’, boss’ boss. So best behavior.”
“Wait. Seriously?” I leaned in. Todd worked for the CPRU, which meant that she had to be a heavy hitter if she was high ranked in the city’s power regulation department. “She’s—”
“Not quite.” He backpedaled. “We share a building. She’s straight DPR.”
I blinked twice at that. “Way to set me up to fail.”
“You should believe in yourself,” Soo cut in.
“Todd I w—”
“And she’s here.” Todd had turned his attention away from me and toward his phone. “Hope you’re ready to meet your soulmate.”
“Honey, don’t set that expectation.”
The bar’s front door opened, and I was the only one who could hear it over the atmosphere. I glanced over, and there she was.
She was stunning by any definition, but especially mine. Maybe it was a strange way to describe someone, but she looked beautifully meticulous, from brunette hair to olive skin, to her light blue jacket; everything was in place, and everything about her was gorgeous. Assuming that was Emma, I owed Todd big time.
“Okay, that can’t be her, right?” I asked Todd. After a second, without a response, I checked to see if he was waving at her, but he was stock still, a stupid grin plastered over his face. “Todd?”
Holy shit. The DPR had some crazy people on their roster, but this- I waved a hand in front of Todd’s face and snapped my fingers, then caught the sound of a single cautious heel clicking against the floor.
I stood up from the table and looked back at the door. She’d taken one step into the bar but had gotten caught in the same shock I had. “Emma?” I asked.
She snapped her attention to me -god, her eyes were- but she just looked confused.
“Toby,” I explained, “I’m Todd’s friend.” I motioned over to Todd’s still body and took the first steps to say hello. “This is really impressive. I didn’t think this was possible. It’s cool to meet someone wh—”
“I’m not doing this,” she said. “This is impossible. How are yo—”
“Trust me, this isn’t in my…” We stared at each other for a moment. Somehow, time stopped more than it already was.
“Holy shit.” We both said it at once.
“So this isn’t you?” she asked. Her eyes were still meandering around the frozen bar instead of staying in the conversation with me.
“No, it’s not,” I walked along her gaze and ended up against the bar counter, “did Todd tell you what my power was?”
“He just told me you wouldn’t mind having me around,” Emma answered, which somehow just brought up more questions.
“Enhanced perception,” I grabbed a drink off of the bar to see if I could; As soon as I touched it, it seemed to animate back to life. “What do you mean, ‘mind having you around’?”
“I dampen powers,” she explained, a little quieter than anything else she’d said, “make them weaker, hard to use. The technical definition is long and wordy so…” She sighed as she watched me slosh the beer around. “It’s a lot of trouble, really.”
“Probably good for work,” I offered.
“Pretty much the whole reason I have my job, but Callum wouldn’t admit that.” She approached, but there wasn’t an open seat near where I was standing, nor could we ask for someone to move. “Callum is—”
“Callum Rehsman, head of the D.P.R for the past six years,” I stepped in, “sorry, comes with the perception thing.”
“Honestly, I’m just glad I don’t have to explain it,” Emma took to leaning against the bar instead of walking over to a seat. She undid the top button of her shirt, which was probably too high for a date, anyway. “Emma Terish. Ring any bells up there?”
“No.”
“And you’re?”
“Toby Vander,” I put down the beer to offer my hand, and it froze as soon as I let go. We both paid attention to that instead of the potential formal hello.
“So this isn’t you.” Emma reached for the glass and picked it up; once she did, it animated just like it had with me. “And it isn’t me…”
I swallowed nothing. We’d both said holy shit for a reason, but it felt impossible to admit it. Wasn’t there supposed to be a — Well, something? Anything?
Then again, we were stopping time, and what else could you ask for?
“Do you want a drink, Toby?” Emma asked. She vaulted herself over the bar with a frankly shocking amount of grace for someone in a pantsuit.
“Uh, sure.”
“I’d ask what you were drinking, but we might have limited options,” she was considering her new vantage point from behind the counter.
I took the opportunity to grab the drink I’d left behind on the table. “I’ll use the one I had.” I tapped Todd’s hand for posterity, and nothing happened to him. “Any idea what this might—”
“No idea,” she answered without letting me finish, “but my job involves dealing with unknown powers, so…” She tried to use the soda-gun and swore when it didn’t work. “You learn to roll with it until people cooperate.”
“You still think I’m doing this?”
“I know it’s not me, and there aren’t many options here with us,” she said as she ducked behind the bar and came back up with a lemonade cooler, “but I came here for a date, and I plan to have one. Been a long week.”
I returned to the bar, finding a seat now that she was on the other side. “I just need to establish that this isn’t me. I’m not trying to—”
“If it isn’t you and it’s not me stopping time around us, then someone is giving us a very private venue for our first date.”
“Isn’t that nice?”
“It really is.” She took a sip of her drink, then pulled it away before she had time to swallow. “Shit. Do you have cash?”
“I’ll cover you.” She frowned at that; clearly she wasn’t satisfied with someone else paying for everything. “Plus, you’re serving me tonight. So…” That seemed to be enough plausible deniability to satisfy her. “Cheers?”
“Cheers.”
Throughout drink one, we were casting nervous glances around the paused bar; by drink five, we were laughing, just the two of us. Hours dripped by with the free beer… or they didn’t… It was hard to tell.
Emma added her sixth can to her pyramid and composed herself. “Okay, okay, okay. One second.” She took a deep breath. “This has been so much fun, but I told Todd I’d tell him when I got here so” — she needed another second to find her verbal footing — “can you stop this now?”
“Stop what?” I was halfway through a sip.
“This is the coolest power I’ve seen but—”
“It’s not me, I promise,” my insistence ended up sounding more like a drunk debate. The drunk part was accurate.
“So your power really is enhanced perception.”
“Yes.”
“Okay. Okay. You’re not lying.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Because that’s lame and—” She stopped herself. “Shit, sorry.”
“I am so used to it.”
“You wouldn’t say that drunk if you could stop time is my point,” she almost ducked down to grab another drink but thought better of it. “So, that makes us…”
We’d reached this impasse several times in the last hours. I scanned her. The lines on her face. The size of her irises. She was worried. Apprehensive.
So I said it first.
“We’re soul mates.”
She looked down and to the left, considering instead of answering.
“Why else would one of us display a power we’d never seen before? Unless you’re right and someone was stopping time for everyone but me and—”
“And the woman who’s immune to powers,” she cut in. “Maybe we are soul mates, but turn it off.”
“It’s not—”
“Toby, please.”
“I don’t—” I stopped short and instead tried even though I didn’t know how. My perception was passive. I didn’t get to choose whether I used it. Was there supposed to be a switch somewhere inside my head? Was I—
How long had it been at this point? Six, seven hours? We’d planned to meet pretty late and it would almost be light out by now. She was right. We had to get—
“I don’t know how,” I admitted, “if it’s me.”
Emma opened her mouth to say something, then reconsidered. Her perfectly manicured nails were digging into the vinyl of the bar top.
“Okay. It’s been lovely, but if you getting here started this then,” I said as I stood up, “maybe I just need to leave, and that will turn it off so we can figure out what’s going on.” I took the first steps toward the door.
“That’s a good plan,” she nodded along with what she was saying, like she was convincing herself, “I’ll reach out to you. It was an excellent date.”
“Let Todd know for me,” I added as I reached the door; a second later, I stepped into the chilled early-fall air. The door didn’t shut behind me, so I kept walking until I would have been out of eyesight.
Then I stopped.
Should I have turned around? What were the chances that she was my soul mate? What was I leaving behind if I didn’t see her again? It was a dumb thought, but the idea of walking away started gnawing at me.
But what choice did I have? In front of me, a couple was frozen in the middle of a quiet conversation on the way to the bar. Soul mates only affected one another when they were close by. I took a few more steps and started to sprint.
I was three blocks away when the world stuttered around me. My vision blurred, and the moonlight was shattered by the sun. I stumbled, almost crashing into a woman dressed like she was on her way to brunch.
Shit. I’d left my jacket at the bar, but—
I checked my watch; 8:06 AM.

2024.05.16 11:18 Souram I lost Rs.2000

I am in train, I'm shifting from my hometown to Delhi. My mom gave me 2000 rs, I kept that in my back pocket of pant. Before boarding this train i was also in a local train. In 8 hours, I didn't check that single time and now when I randomly checked it's missing. I searched every pocket including my backpack. I lost it, but don't know where. She told me many times to be careful while travelling, also be careful Delhi is a big city it's not like our small town city. I'm confused, sad also in fear, I don't know what to do. I lost 2000 while going, How I'll manage there. What should I do, should I tell my mom about this or I should hide it from her?

2024.05.16 11:00 nam1da First call center job

I’ve worked in retail so I thought I could handle unruly customers but man call centers are rough. It’s only my third week but I’m already feeling like I should quit and jump off a cliff or something.
My first week of ‘training’ I had a property manager call and wanted to cancel a service for an address they no longer owned. So I canceled their services which included their appointment, per the customer. Anyways third week rolls by and boom.
Some lady is calling asking where her tech is. I notify her that the appointment was cancelled per a phone call requesting cancellation of services due to “not being owned anymore.” She loses her mind at me. Saying I don’t know how to do my job. This and that. “I wouldn’t never cancel these services.” I let her know that I can reschedule her appointment and undo the cancelation of services with no charge.
At this point she’s yelling at me. Frustrated, I get it but I was only doing what I was told. We don’t record phone calls but she accused me of lying which made me burst into tears because I’m working a minimum paying job. What’s there to lie about. I can take accountability for my mistakes but i genuinely believe no mistakes were made on my part.
She screams at me about needing to talk to someone about my employment. Threatening to talk to my supervisor so I told her that I could transfer her to my supervisor. She said she’d call back the next day. Anyways she calls the office and at this point everyone knows what’s going on. I’m embarrassed and just feel like I don’t know what I’m doing anymore.
My supervisor keeps validating me and telling me I’m doing a great job but at the same time I feel so useless and am only hurting the business. The business itself is a small local family owned business so it really takes a hit at my confidence. Just when I thought I was doing a decent job, it all comes crashing down and now paranoia sets in and I need verification for everything I do.
My supervisor said there’s grace for mistakes but now it just feels like she doesn’t believe me. I really hate the mentality of the customers always right. Working here has shown that although kindness is free, there are still really greedy people out and about who can’t spare even that.

2024.05.16 10:57 MichaelAftonXFireWal My version of The Finale of Red vs Blue.

Quick Summary:

This post will contain spoilers for both Season 15, and Restoration.
With the release of Restoration, Red vs Blue has finally come to an end, and it was a pretty solid ending for the most part amid a few flaws here and there, but most I think would agree it was a Satisfying ending. However as I said before it has a few problems. One being is that we don't know if Restoration actually happend, or if it's also a simulation much like The Shisno Trilogy, and Zero.
Secondly even though some people didn't like The Shisno Trilogy retconing it removes all of the major delevompment certain characters went through. Such as Grif, Donut, and Washington. I think The Shisno Trilogy defenitntly handled their characters better then Restoration did. So I'm going to give my version of what happend after the battle on The Staff of Charon, and see if we can fix some of the mistakes of both The Shisno Trilogy, and Restoration.

Season 15 Prelude:

So in my rewrite I'm going to have both Season 15, and Restoration happen, but there will be some tweeks, and changes added to them. One such change will be Tucker's descent into becoming The New Meta, rather then it just happening offscreen. We see this through Tucker behaving much more differently then he normally would. He often gets angry for unknown reasons, or behaves more violently then he normally would. All of this is a result of him being influinced by both Sigma, and Omega. Personally I think Omega would help Sigma with his goals as long as Sigma gave Omega something in return.

Season 15:

Now let's get into the actual Season. So Season 15 Episode 1 Prolouge goes the same as it does in the original, with The Blues and Reds attacking a UNSC base, and killing everyone there. Dylan Andrews then does her report with Frank, she deciedes to track The Reds and Blues down, Frank is replace by Jax, and together they head to Blood Gulch, meet sister, and VIC, Dylan makes a deal with VIC that he will give her "Three wishes", and then she, and Jax go to Sidewinder, meet Specncer, and Encounter The Blues and Reds. So far Season 15 seems to be going exactaly the same as it did before right, well here's where the first difference comes. Dylan doesn't immendidlty put together put together that they aren't the real Reds, and Blues. This is because Surge actually has a shotgun, and they all have voice filters to sound like the Reds, and Blues.
Anyways after all that instead of going to Chorus, Dylan and Jax decied to go to other places The Reds and Blues have been starting with Zanzibar. There they wouldn't find much, but I think Dylan would at least try to see if she could find any information on the computer Gamma hacked, but probably wouldn't find anything.
There next stop would be Valhalla. There they would first check out The Blue Base, find nothing, and then they would check out The Red Base, where they would find the holgraph training thing Sarge had Lopez built. Once again they wouldn't find anything they would help with their investagation.
Oh by the way the call between Dylan and James would still happen in Episode 4 at Zanziabar and it would go the same as in the original Season.
Anyways then then go to the sandy place with The Temple, then where the Reds and Tucker got destroyed by Tex, and even where they confronted The Director, but they find nothing, and Dylan is about to Give Up when Jax suggest that why not go to the place The Reds and Blues were last known to be, Chorus. Dylan calls Jax a genius, and they head of to Chours. Again this goes exactaly the same as it did in the original version, but with one major difference, Doc would be on Chours working at Donald Doyle General Hosptial as Doctor Grey's assisatant, but once he here's about The Reds and Blues he too like Sister, Grey, and Kimball believes that The Reds and Blues wouldn't go evil, despite all they've put him through. So after getting the info from Kimball, Dylan, Jax, and Doc would all go to The Reds and Blues are on. Doc apologizes to Grey for leaving, but she assures him it's okay, and that he wasn't really that good at opperating, no offense of course. Anyways they go to the planet, the same Star Wars Parody scene happens, and Dylan finally meets The Real Reds and Blues. Cabooose still falls of the cliff, The Reds and Blues kind of have a small reaction to Doc like "Oh Doc what are you doing here". Doc then tries to explain only for The Reds and Blues to say that "No one cares", then they tell their story. It's exactaly the same, but Carolina does point out Tucker's weird behavior from being influnced by Sigma, and Omgea, but they all just blow it off as a phase, and then they get the SOS from Church.
And that's where Season 15 would end. Now I'm sure some of you are going to question why I shorten Season 15 to only about 10 episodes instead of the Original 20, well that was because of Dylan and Jax. See one of my main issues with Season 15 was the lack of development the two new characters got. I mean what did we learn about either of them throughout the Season? Um Dylan was a reporter, Jax wants to make movies, Dylan has a husband she's distant from, and that's about it, and as soon as The Reds and Blues come back into the picture, both Dylan and Jax basically get sidelinded. For me that was my biggest disappointment from Season 15, and is the main reason why I added episodes of Dylan and Jax going to these other places The Reds and Blues have been was so we could learn more about Dylan and Jax.
One thing I think we could learn about is why Dylan is so distant from her husband, here's my take on the reason why. Dylan can't have kids. When Dylan gets the call from James, Jax could ask her why she's so distant from him, to which Dylan would say that it's none of his buisness, then Jax can drop it, and tell Dylan his life story, then in Chorus Lessons Dylan can tell Jax about her being unable to reproduce, she explains to him that other then being a reporter one of her biggest dreams was to be a mom, she and James tried so many times, but nothing worked, so they went to the doctors where they got the news that Dylan was infertal. This revlation devestated Dylan, and she started to distants herself from James, and burry herself in her work. James did suggest things like Adoption, or a Surragate Mom, but Dylan didn't want to do either of does. I know it's not the best story for Dylan, but I just wanted more from her and Jax, instead of them just being sidelinded after The Reds and Blues came back into the picture. Anyways onto the New Season 16.

Season 16:

So yeah Season 16 is just the rest of Season 15 honestly, and for the most part everything goes exactaly The Same. Grif quits still, Carolina and Washington go to search for their old Freelancer friends, and The rest of The Reds and Blues along with Dylan and Jax try to trace Church's message. Everything from their goes the same, including the meeting with Spencer. It's when they meet The Blues and Reds where it's different. When they first meet it goes basically the same where The Blues and Reds claim that they're the good guys, and its The UNSC who are the bad guys, but Tucker does not trust them one bit because they are still going around pretending to be The Reds and Blues, with Tucker even questioning how Dylan couldn't tell they were fakes. Anyways the go into the underwater base, and here's where we get some differences. First of all The Blues and Reds and not the originals, they are just copycats. Doc also never knew them, and there's a little moment of him asking if they have their own Doc, and getting kind of dissapointed that their isn't.
Here's another major difference. It's Sigma who convinces Tucker to not trust Dylan, and to instead trust The Blues and Reds, and espesically Temple. After that everything from Wash and Carolina's relationship getting forming, to The Blues and Reds capturing them goes the same.
Now we get to The Blues and Reds story of why they are doing all of this. Now like I said before they are not the originals like in the canon version of Season 15, and honestly coming up with a different story for them was hard, and this was all I could think of. They were part of The UNSC Resistance, and took part in the battle of the Sargaughcas in Season 9. We still get that whole think of Biff and Temple being friends, and Biff wanting to go home to be with his wife, but this time instead of him asking Temple to shoot him, he was already given permission to leave, and this would have been his last mission. Unfourtnetly he is killed during the battle by Carolina and Tex. As for why The Blues and Reds are pretending to be The Reds and Blues? They saw the article Dylan wrote and that's what gave Temple the idea to pretend to be The Reds and Blues.
Anyways The Reds, and Blues discover The Blues and Reds are evil, Doc, and Sarge join The Blues, and Reds, The Reds, and Blues are captured, Lopez gets launched into Space, runs into Locus, and gets Grif. Grif, Lopez, and Felix go to save The Reds and Blues, free Wash and Carolina, with Wash all loopy, Sarge apologizes, and the fire fight happens. Here we would also see more of Sigma, and Omega influnicing Tucker, primarily Omega during this part since Tucker is angry, and of course Wash gets shot in the Neck.
So after that everything goes exactaly the same as it does in the original with The Reds and Blues, Dylan, and Jax all heading to Earth to stop The Blues and Reds.
Okay now for the Final Battle aganist The Blues and Reds, for the most part it's the same. Sarge and Surge's fight to Sarge accidendtly killing Surge, Grif, and Simmons figthing Gene and leaving him, and Loronzeo getting kicked into space, as well as Cronut blowing up in The Tank, but surving.
Now for the differnces. First off Loco's machine is not a time machine, but it will still causes mass destruction, and possibly destroy the planet so it needs to be stopped. Tucker beats Buckey even worse then he does in the original, breaking nearly all of his bones. This is again because of Omega. Anyways once we get to the final battle against Temple it all goes the same. Temple accidently kills Loco, VIC dies stopping the Machine, and Loco gives Caboose some batteires for Freckles. Now for the differnces. First there's no door that opens to Blood Gulch, and Alpha Church, The Machine just gets destroyed by VIC. Donut still gets shot by a bolt of electricty, but it does nothig except give him a little jolt. Oh and everything that happend with Doc went the same.
Now for Temple's fate. This time Tucker actually kills Temple, quite violently to, shocking everyone. Carolina then says "Tucker, what have you done"? to which Tucker, who's voice is mixed with Sigma's says. "Tucker is gone, I am The Meta"! Tucker now complety controlled by Sigma runs off, gets into Dylan's ship and flies off leaving everyone in shock. Then The Chours crew comes with Sister who reuintes with Grif, and the others are informed of Wash's recover, but then Caboose ask what they are going to do about Tucker, which Carolina says she doesn't know. Season 16 ends with Tucker returing to the base where The Reds and Blues were stationed after Chorus. He opens a door, to a room where The Meta's old armor was stored. Tucker then puts on the Armor and faces the screen in a scene similar to when Maine became The First Meta.
So yeah Season 16 aka The Rest of Season 15 didn't have a lot of changes other then changing the Origins of The Blues, and Reds, and showing more of Tucker's desent into becoming The New Meta. So let's move onto The Final Season.

Restoration:

So I think the best place to start The Final Season is to have The Reds and Blues first go to Chorus to check on Wash. As for Dylan and Jax, they stay behind since they can't fight The Meta. Anyways The Reds and Blues arrive on Chorus, and Carolina goes to see Wash in the Hospital, she wants to tell him about what happend to Tucker, but Wash doesn't let her at first, and instead tells the story about his cat. He tells the story about five times, so Carolina ask Doctor Grey about what's going on, and she tells Carolina about Wash's Cerebal Hypoxia. Now here's where we get our first difference. Carolina tells Wash about his condition, and does not hide it from him. Wash of course is devestated after learning this, but isn't as angry as he was in the original Season since Carolina was honest with him, but then she tells Wash about Tucker, and this causes an argument between the two of them, Carolina wants Wash to stay behind on Chorus while she and the others take care of Tucker, but Washington is insitant that he comes along saying how Tucker is his friend, and he's not going to sit back while Tucker suffers. Try as she might Carolina cannot convince Wash to stay behind.
While that was going on The Reds and Blues come back with the Message from Church. Of coruse Carolina, is skeptical at first considering what happend with the last message from Church, but Epsilon, who somehow new about all of this is able to prove he is real.
Okay so that's basically it for differnces, as everything else goes the same as it does in the original film with the acception that Sister, Wash, Carolina, Donut, Lopez, and Doc are all there the whole time. There would also be more scences of Tucker trying to fight off Sigma's influnce
Now for The Battle on The Staff of Charon with The Meta, here is where we would see Wash's injury effecting him, and it gets to a point where The Meta is about to kill him, only for Doc to sacrfice himself to save him. So yeah Doc still dies, but this time it's onscreen. As for Sarge, he dies too, same way he does in the original film, but the difference is that Sarge doesn't choose to abandon Caboose at first, he dies saving Caboose.
Final battle in Blood Gulch is The Same, with Tex coming back, but also Junior too. They fight and defeat Sigma, and Free Tucker. Caboose then destroys the Memory Unit.
Now for the ending. Grif doesn't leave like he does in the original film, Simmons does still offer it to him, but Grif chooses to stay. One thing The Shisno Trilogy did good was Grif's character arc. He realized that he needs the others in his life, no matter how much he doesn't want to admit it, he went crazy when he was all alone. Washington's character was something else done well in The Shisno Trilogy, his struggle with Brain Damage, and having to come over it, which is one of the biggest reasons why I hate Zero when they just said that he somehow got cured from that offscreen.
Finally with everything fixed, The Reds and Blues all decied to remain on Blood Gulch. Red Base has Simmons, Grif, Donut, and Lopez, while Blue Base has Caboose, Tucker, Washington, Carolina, Sister, and Junior.
Oh one more thing, they also had a memorial for Doc too. Donut is the first one mouring Doc, with Simmons, and the others eventually joining as well, and it's here where they finally acknowledge all the terrible things they did to Doc over the years, and genuinally apologize to him, even if Doc can't here them

Conclusion:

And there we go, my rewrite of Season 15, and Restoration. I know it's not perfect, and believe me a billon other people could do a trillon times better then I ever could, but I just wanted to talk about my take on how I would try to handle The End of Red vs Blue.

2024.05.16 10:05 Existing-Area-9093 Baradwaj Rangan's interview of Iraivi (lengthy, with spoilers)

Spoilers ahead…
Dear Karthik Subbaraj,
Congratulations on yet another interesting movie, and for resisting the impulse to name this one, too, after a food item. Iraivi is an unusual feminist film, in the sense that it’s seen entirely through the prism of sympathetic male characters. Your men aren’t monsters who drink or cheat on their wives or subject them to torture. They do these things, yes, but… differently. Arul (SJ Surya) drinks, but only to drown out his sense of failure – he’s a director and his film is in the cans, being held hostage by a sadistic producer. Michael (Vijay Sethupathi) has sex with Malarvizhi (Pooja Devariya), and he continues to lust after her after his marriage to Ponni (Anjali) – I love that all your women have names that suggest classical heroines, including Arul’s wife Yazhini (Kamalini Mukherjee) – but it’s a marriage he committed to in a hurry and he still hasn’t reconciled himself to it. He’s being a bastard, certainly, but he’s not a one-note villain. And the torture they inflict isn’t the stubbing-a-cigarette-into-the-wife’s-bare-arm variety. It’s more mental than physical.
So we get women who are collateral damage – and I include Arul’s comatose mother (Vadivukkarasi), and the nurse who’s not allowed to do her duty – of men being men. They’re being babies, really. Yazhini tells Arul that he should get on with his life, write another story, make another movie. He says it’s like her trying to have another child while still pregnant with their daughter. (Yes, all these men end up with girl children.) He’s a wallower – but maybe all artists are. You like to do that, don’t you Karthik? Even in a film like this, you deliver a commentary about filmmaking and the artist. Why, even Arul’s father is a sculptor, and though we never see him ill-treating his wife (thank you for sparing us the clichés of raised hands and raised voices), we’re informed that he’s responsible for her state. His son’s following the father’s footsteps. Maybe you’re trying to say that the wives of obsessed artists are doomed to become collateral damage. Your films make us think, Karthik, so thank you for that.
All your stories have at their centre a filmmaker, or at least (in the case of your first film, Pizza) a storyteller. And through them, we seem to hear your voice. “Works of art should not be in places where they are not respected.” “Namma padam pesanum, naama pesa koodadhu.” You compare masala movies to a massage with a happy ending. (I laughed, but please don’t judge me when I say I rather like massages with happy endings – I refer to masala movies, of course.) We even get a line of dialogue about Dolby Atmos. (What will the B/C-centre audience make of this, Karthik? But then you don’t really give a shit, do you? More power to you.) And you like your insider jokes. That crass, egoistic producer who does not care about art – he reminded me of the crass producer from your earlier film, Jigarthanda. You like Rajinikanth too. You referenced Thillu Mullu in Pizza, Thalapathi in Jigarthanda, and now you have Arul singing Malayala karayoram, Michael singing Oorai therinjikitten.
Or is that more of an Ilayaraja homage? You like to keep the audience guessing, right? When the Bobby Simha character in Jigarthanda said he was a Shankar-Ganesh fan, it appeared that you were mocking the endless Ilayaraja nods in Tamil cinema, but here you are, doffing your hat to the maestro. “Raja Raja dhaan.” Arul says this… twice. (By the way, which is that nightclub which plays Maanguyile poonguyile? Do let us know.) And the reuse of Unnai thaane – first in a scene between Michael and Malarvizhi; later in a scene between Michael and Ponni – is the kind of Easter egg we come to your films for. Let me list some others, though I’ll probably need to watch the film a second (or third) time to get them all. The name of the bachelors’ quarters is Ambal Mansion – it goes with your theme and title. I didn’t get the bit about the windmills (something connected to the gust of wind that makes the row of cycles fall over in the first scene?), or why you showcased the book of Shanta Shishunala Sharif’s poems. (I confess. I Googled up that name. I can’t remember the last time a Tamil film made me Google something up. Madras, maybe.) And despite your note at the beginning that Iraivi is inspired by the works of K Balachander (he made female-centric films, but I don’t know if I’d call them feminist films), this is really more of an ode to Mani Ratnam, isn’t it? Specifically, Aayidha Ezhuthu. The three men, one of them – the impulsive one – named Michael. The film starting out as Arul’s story, then becoming Michael’s story, and finally Jagan’s (Bobby Simha) story. The finale with the woman on the train. Plus, the arc of the Madhavan-Meera Jasmine plot was essentially about being easily misled (in the case of the man) and becoming collateral damage (in the case of the woman.) And yes, the rain. All that rain. As though the skies were weeping for these women.
Am I digressing, Karthik? If I am, I’m just following your style, which is the opposite of simple and linear. As a result, I find your films longer than they need to be. (You may feel the same about my reviews.) For instance, I did not care for the scene in the nightclub where a director is felicitated. I realise it was there as a last straw for Yazhini, but it felt redundant. But I suppose they couldn’t be any other way, because you like these shaggy-dog stories that you then embellish with novelistic detail. I love the way you introduce your characters, the time you take with them. Our films lay out characters and their relationship to each other the minute we set eyes on them, but you make us wait to know how Arul is related to Jagan and where Michael fits in and so on. And when it appeared that a semblance of a plot was kicking in (something about Arul needing money to buy back his film), I dug out my phone and checked: it was a whole hour into the movie. Borrowing an image from Malarvizhi’s profession (oh wait, she’s an artist too; she’s literally an artist), it’s like daubs of paint slowly forming a bigger picture.
And you really like an expansive canvas. Not only does the crass producer have a brother, you also bring in his wife later on, to conclude a deal he began making. These segments practically form a mini-movie, with another woman left reeling by the actions of her man. Your films have this… density. They’re packed – with characters, with complications, with information doled out in bits and pieces. (A character says, “Un kitta onnu sollanum.” And instead of hearing what he has to say, we cut to someone else.) Take the scene where Michael asks Arul for money he is owed. You just need to get Michael to Arul’s antiques shop, so the next part of the plot can be staged. Arul could have told Michael to collect the money at the shop. Instead, this is what we get. Arul tells Michael to wait for a week, when he can get the 50 lakhs he is owed. Michael says he wants only 10 lakhs. Arul says he has only 8 lakhs, he’ll give the remainder later. Michael goes to Arul’s father, in the hospital. He has only 5 lakhs. And he directs Michael to the shop, to get the remaining 3 lakhs. Your signature intercutting adds to this texture, Karthik. Shots of Michael and Arul’s father in the hospital are intercut with shots of Arul hunting for booze. Shots of Michael and Jagan outside a courtroom are intercut with shots of Arul being consoled by his father. Happenings are stretched and meshed the way they would be in real life, and not compacted according to the page-per-minute requirement of screenplay-writing textbooks.
I could never predict where the film was going (win!), what these people were going to do (again, win!) –though I must admit I found this to be the weakest of your “twists.” The subplot about stealing sculptures, too, I found rather conceit-y, something half-heartedly cooked up to fit with the title and the theme, rather than something plausible, something these people would do. When Michael, here, commits murder, with a hammer, I went, “This mild-mannered chap? Really?” But then, even in Jigarthanda, I wasn’t quite convinced that the characters would do the things they did. They seemed to be puppets of a screenplay rather than credible human beings, whose actions evolve organically from who they are (or at least, who they seem to be).
But even if I am not convinced by the overall trajectory of your characters, I love how fleshed-out they are on a moment-to-moment basis. I loved the scene where Arul barges into Yazhini’s house, after their separation, on the day of her engagement to someone else. In a lesser film, she would have asked him to get out, and he’d have dug his heels in, and she’d have cooled down and… But here, she rushes straight into his arms. And you make us see why. She was frustrated, fed up with him. But she’s also confused. Was she hasty in abandoning this man? Should she move on with another man? Does she even need a man? With just this one scene, you’ve compensated for the underwritten heroine of Jigarthanda. The story arc may be Arul’s, but Yazhini registers as a fully formed character. Similarly, Michael’s arc allows for the delineation of Ponni and Malarvizhi, and through Jagan, we get glimpses of his mother, and possibly of all womanhood as viewed by a compassionate man. And then you say that women don’t need even this compassionate man (poor chap!), that they have to emancipate themselves instead of looking for a penis-wielding emancipator. What delicious irony, given that you begin the film with women talking about marriage, tying themselves to a man!
Or not, in the case of Malarvizhi, who is easily the film’s most interesting character. Her husband is dead, and she doesn’t want love anymore – only sex. When Michael buys her a diamond necklace, she gives it back to him – she can buy her own trinkets, thank you very much. But the character feels shoe-horned into the film, Karthik. I felt betrayed – and I bet she did too – that after a point, she was used simply as a plot device to get Michael and Ponni together, and also to illustrate Michael’s (who is now standing in for all of mankind) hypocrisy. I felt she deserved more. And yet, I appreciated your generosity in fleshing her out like all the others, without judging her. She gets to be the rare woman in Tamil cinema who dumps the man, and the way she lets go of Michael is echoed in the way Arul lets go of Yazhini, with a heavy heart and some playacting. A side effect of the Malarvizhi subplot is the reassurance that Vijay Sethupathi is still interested in making cinema, rather than just massy entertainers targeted at the box office.
Ponni gets a better deal (and Anjali is terrific, raw and expressive in a way she has never been). In a great scene – rather, a set of book-ending scenes – Michael tells Ponni that he was forced to marry her, and she’s going to have to “adjust” to this if she wants to be with him. Much later, she throws the “adjust” word back on his bearded face when he asks her if she slept with someone else. In a different kind of movie, we’d be invited to see this symmetry, stand up and applaud. But you’re too subtle for that, Karthik. Iraivi is your subtlest film. Which is why I winced at the melodramatic lines about men and women, most of which came towards the end. Aan, using the long-sounding vowel, versus penn, with the shorter one – for such a visual filmmaker (this is another outstandingly shot film, less showy than Jigarthanda and probably richer for that), do you really need the crutch of linguistic special effects from another era of filmmaking? Also, when the rest of your film is so allusive, isn’t there another way you can explain the twist without having a character resort to such an inelegant information dump?
And why is it that your films come together more in the head than in the heart? Why are they easier to admire than love wholeheartedly? I used to think it was because your characters are essentially deceitful, self-serving and unsympathetic, so though we were invested in what they did, we didn’t really warm up to them. But here, you have Ponni and Yazhini and Malarvizhi – and they’re still remote. But perhaps this is bound to happen when there are so many people, so many strands, when we don’t follow one person’s simplistic “you go, girl” journey like we do in, say, 36 Vayadhinile? But when the parts are so well-crafted, we don’t complain as much about their sum not adding up to a satisfying whole. I am sure that you will, one day, make that wholly satisfying film, but for now, thank you for these parts. Thank you for the ambition. I felt there were too many songs (some good work by Santhosh Narayanan), but thank you for ensuring that they don’t break character, the way songs usually do when a character speaking in his or her voice suddenly segues into the playback singer’s voice. Thank you for giving us SJ Surya, the actor – I never dreamed he had such a capacity to hold a scene, to hold the screen. Thank you for continuing not to sell out. Thank you for trying to do so much, even if not all of it needed to have been tried. And thank you for making me fight with myself, for not making it easy to decide if you’ve made a “good” film or a merely “okay” film. For now, Iraivi is a fascinating film, and that’s enough.
Sincerely, etc.
