So I'm dating a girl for past 7 months. We have been texting and calling everyday. But whenever I ask her to meet(, she's always like kaam hai kuch or tabiyat theek nahi hai ( yes, I haven't met her once). Even when I ask her for video call or for her pics, she straight away deny. She says she is very conscious about her looks and her self esteem is low. It led to fights between us many times. And when I become angry when she denies for video call or pics or meeting, she's start fighting for the fact that how can I be angry, I don't know what she's going through etc etc. I've always supported her, never judged her for looks( she sent me few pics of her from few years back, not the recent one). And after that fight she's like I'm not good for you enough. Recently we fought again and somehow this video call and meeting topic again came up. Then she said she denies everytime because I ask her again and again for these little things and this irritates her.
Am I doing something wrong,like we're dating and I've never met her. I understand if she's not comfortable with meeting but can't I ask for pics and for video calls. Even LDR relations have these things.. I don't know what to do

I'm trying to use Droidcam on my 22.04 LTS version and encountered a few errors initially. I managed to fix those, but now Droidcam isn't being detected on any platform, including Google Meet, Zoom, or even applications like Cheese.
I can only access the incoming video input from Droidcam by using VLC Player's capture feature and manually selecting it on "video0".
How can I fix this issue?

Another thing is that my ex has been talking mad shhh about me, I hate the idea of them having her over and nodding their head in agreement. Last time I talked to Daisy I called to vent cuz my ex started accusing me of some serious stuff. She said “why don’t you meet up with your ex and ask them why they’re saying that stuff?” That was twisting the knife. All I remember is thinking this person is not my friend.
What should I say to them? So far I’ve just gone quiet but I want to officially block them.

The 3Muslims had a video in where they went over a study that discussed the spiritual experiences that subjects on DMT went through, as well as their meeting with the "entities"(Timestamp- 33:48). From this study, it seemed that most of the subjects who were athiests before taking DMT, no longer claimed to follow athiesm after their experience. I believe there were other studies which were done that saw something similar, although I don't think they were as specific or had as large of a subject pool as this one.
This video made me question how one can ascertain which substances provide actual spiritual experiences (communicating with Djinn/realm of Djinn) and ones that simply cause hallucinatory experiences. I tried looking on subs like Psychonaut and those similar to it, but unfortunately, there wasn't much that I could consider concrete. It seems that many who have had their eyes opened to another reality, whether it was truly spiritual or not, have concluded that all psychedelics provide some spiritual experience. Of course, some believed that all psychedelics simply cause hallucinatory experiences and nothing more, and some saw no difference between the two. As you can no doubt understand, this makes it extremely hard to get any concrete answers. YouTube was more helpful, not by a whole lot, but enough to help me in my research.
From what I was able to gather, it seemed that DMT and Shrooms are the best way to communicate with Djinn. Maybe mescaline too, although from what I personally saw, it did not come up as much so I am not too sure about it. On the other hand, drugs like LSD, Ketamine, etc. seem more likely to cause a hallucinatory experience than a spiritual one.
I just want to let you all know that the research I did, was in no way extensive. Due to the current legality of the substances in question, it's practically impossible to properly study something like this. Even if the legality was not an issue, I highly doubt something like this would get much funding, but that's just a personal opinion, so I could be wrong.

So this may be a bit long (sorry) but I’m gonna try and condense it as much as possible. So I was in an associates program (med surg 2nd semester) and I actually just failed the class. I was genuinely shocked that I failed but also not entirely BECAUSE we had a new professor this semester. She was just hired in January, claims to have previous experience yadayada whatever. Well she didn’t finish a lecture, which so happened to be her first lecture and as a result almost everyone in the class failed that test. We move on and the lectures get better as in she finishes them but she’s reading them verbatim. Which we all can agree is a terrible teaching method, but again we move on. The final comes around and almost half of the class fails which means almost half fail the semester. So you have like 18 people fail out and have to retake (with the exception of those that have failed twice which they must wait 5 years! Insane I know) anyways I see that I failed and I’m furious so I am going through this whole process. My argument is that this new professor never finished that one lecture, final is cumulative hence the reason for my failure. Oh and to add context after everyone failed that first test new professor taught, a new rule was implemented that says if lecture isn’t finished a video recording must be uploaded within 24 hrs… well guess what! This never happened for that missed material, and like I said the final is cumulative… so yeah you can argue we had the slides, the book, we could’ve taught ourselves. Which I mean yeah sure, you basically already do that anyways with all nursing concepts, however I’m not paying good money to teach myself AND if auditory learning has been the standard thus far, it’s not fair. Every single lecture has been auditory, everyone at least learns auditory… Anyways I come to reddit to ask, I am a few days away from meeting with the director of my program which will likely not readmit me, however the dean may be kind enough to consider. Is my argument valid? You can be honest I genuinely think I would have passed if not for that one professor, they should’ve stuck with what they knew and had the OG’s teach. And if anyone needs more context let me know, and I would appreciate honesty!
Edit: I would like to add that YES I attended tutoring, sought out supplemental material, cut my work hours, studied alone and in groups etc. I would also like to add that I am aware I must read the book and partially teach myself the material however the way MY program works is by having the professors teach the important key concepts which we are to be tested on. We fill in the blanks, what I am saying and referring to is the fact that the professor did not finish a 117 slide powerpoint lecture in 6 hours… why is this? 6 hours is plenty of time to teach, this was 1 week before our exam. 1 week in which myself and the rest of my classmates had to not only brush up on what WAS taught but also teach ourselves the remainder. This particular exam had a 34% pass rate…

So this is my FIRST time going on a date and actually talking with a girl.
I got the balls to ask out a girl in my class before I graduated college, and we went on a first date for coffee. Things went really well, the date was almost 7 hours long, we went for coffee then (unplanned) went to restaurant together and talked more. So things went really well.
Before the date, she did tell me that she would be going on vacation until August, but would love to meet me.
So we met, but now she has been gone for a couple weeks. She is gone on vacation until August. Since our first date, we have been texting every day, throughout the day. We began with texting, then she added me on snapchat, and we've been snapping all day back and forth, now we're both #1 friends on snapchat (meaning we both send snaps the most to each other out of all of our friends on snapchat). So I would take this as a pretty good sign? It's been almost 3 weeks of us talking.
we just talk all day about random stuff and send pics of ourselves, and she sometimes compliments me and I do the same with her. mostly messing around, playful snaps. Always good morning and goodnight texts/snaps. She called me pookie a few times early on and I also used some terms of endearment. We have not facetimed or anything yet, but we have sent snapchat videos of ourselves talking sometimes. She answers me super fast and I do the same.
I just don't know what my next move should be. She's on vacation until August. We've only had one date. I really like her personality and she's super pretty. Do I keep snapping her without making any moves until August when we actually meet up again in person? Or should I keep moving forward, suggesting that we should start a relationship (temporarily long distance because shes on vacation until August?) Should I start complimenting her more? Should I move toward facetiming her now? Should I start asking more in depth questions when we talk? It's really hard, because this is all on social media and I can't actually meet with her in person again until August.

I've been feeling a little bummed out lately. I always try and stay happy and see the best in things. But.. I've just been so alone. Most of my whole childhood and adult years have been spent feeling lonely. I grew up surrounded by cornfields which was peaceful but also has a lonely aspect to it. My family never really were close and never did anything as a family really. And part of it too is the fact that I never had any neighbors my age to interact with. But aside from that, my adult life has been very lonely. I'm just always by myself. I barely have any meaningful adult relationships or experiences, or even any friends.
I work a 3-11 job in building maintenance at my company world headquarters building which I love, but again it's very lonely. I work the off shift so the building is always empty. I don't get normal social interaction with people my age or a chance to build relationships. I only have 3 older men as co-workers and we are mostly in the basement away from any people on the floors from knowing our existence. I always walk the floors and see office people laughing and chatting with their coworkers and I just don't have that kind of experience. And just.. no one knows I exist really. Everyone probably assumes I have a lot of friends, but I'm struggling inside with being so alone and trying to meet people and get past the "hi how are you?" "I'm good thanks" stage. Most people don't seem to want to talk beyond that. And most women are already in relationships and thus it would seem weird to approach them in an office setting trying to get to know them deeper. But man those "hi how are yous" are the only real interactions I get during my day.. so thus I decided to come here lol. Rant over, sorry! I promise I'm not a downer. 😅

I am left handed which is pretty cool. I'm not much of a party person or a drinker, I much prefer a quiet night at home and maybe a beer or two on a weekend but that's about it. I am simple and stay out of drama and trouble and don't get much into politics or other things that cause drama with people. I much prefer a relaxing campfire and a night at home and to just let the world keep on turning haha.

I have a Nikon D200 and D5500 that I love to shoot with. I love nature scenes, abstract, black and white/goth kinda photography, sunsets, etc. it's so fun to just let your mind explore. It's not about what camera you have, but those who are behind the camera!
• Cooking and baking
I loveeee to cook and bake! I enjoy making various meals but also love to just have a frozen pizza once in awhile or something like that. I recently made homemade chili which turned out great. I love to bake, especially in the fall! I love pies, cakes, pastries, cookies, etc. I restored a vintage KitchenAid mixer that needed tbe gearbox rebuilt. Eventually I would love to practice home canning my own food.
• Music
Oh my gosh, I like so much!! Alternative rock, punk, post punk, electronic, synth pop, psychedelic rock, hard rock, etc. I am very non judgemental and open when it comes to music. My three current favorite bands are Type O Negative, Joy Division, and the Cure.
• Nature walks and camping
I really enjoy camping, making fires, and relaxing by a campfire. I love to take walks outside and just enjoy the beauty and simplicity of nature. It's wonderful, especially in a world so focused on everything digital.
• Repairing things
I'm a maintenance guy and one of my hobbies is electronics repair so I am good with my hands and just all around good at troubleshooting and fixing all sorts of things around the house. Last week I helped my elderly neighbor get his tractor started, it needed a new component in the starting circuit. So I'm pretty handy which... Comes in handy! 😂
• Autumn 🍁
This isn't a hobby per say, but man do I love the fall!!! It's my absolute favorite time of the year. Oh my gosh. The beautiful colors, crisp cool air, misty and foggy days, rain, lack of bugs, being cuddled up with a candle or by the fire drinking a tea, etc. I love it! There's only two seasons for me. Fall, and waiting for fall! Haha.
• Scented Candles and incense
Going along with my love for fall, I absolutely love candles! I have like 30 something lol. 😂 Currently my favorite are WoodWick, which are owned by Yankee candle. They have such a soothing crackle and the scents are great! I also love to burn incense from time to time as well. I have cottagecore hippie vibes.
• Old houses and architecture
I love old houses! Especially 1900s and Victorian era homes. Old homes have so much character to them and are just so beautiful from a time when people took pride in their craft. I strongly dislike the modern cookie cutter cheap construction of homes today. I would love to live in an old home one day. I also love their architecture and uniqueness, as well as architecture of old cathedrals and other buildings.
• Relaxing
Basic I know, but sometimes on the weekend I just love to get cozy in bed and relax and put on a YouTube video or an album! 😊

Hi all! We’ve made this thread for finding study partners and groups for the September 2024 GAMSAT. We hope that by doing so we will be able to funnel everyone into one place to find study partners, rather than having multiple people individually posting, many of which are for the same locations and looking for the same things, which hopefully will make it easier to connect with one another.

I also wanted to give a friendly reminder that we have a discord server! The discord is a place to study together on video/voice call, for discussing questions for s1 and s3, and reading/reviewing each other's s2 essays- a lot of which is hard/not really feasible to arrange/do via reddit. It is also a place to just chat with other applicants and medical students, ask questions about the application process and different medical programs, and also for MMI practice when that time comes. The discord community is great, and we are always happy to meet new people, so please join us if you are interested or think you would benefit from it!

Hello dudes, It seems that having a connection with someone has become very difficult, especially as we grow up. I always had more difficulty making make friends, and I wanna change that. I really want to meet people with whom we can exchange experiences, talk about life, our plans. If it's in Canada, it would be even better, because of the time zone and perhaps the chance of meeting each other is greater. Some of my hobbies are reading, listening to music, watching movies, I like hiking, swimming, traveling and fashion. Video games and working out too. If you have something in common or want a conversation and a friend, send a message.

Hey all, I'm graduating soon from HS in Seattle and am working out my college options. I was wondering if I could get input from some of you on the pros/cons and differences between WSU and Central Washington, perhaps even from someone who has attended both.
Don't want to get super TMI but here's what is currently on my mind:
Pro CWU-

• Ellensburg is much closer to Seattle
• CWU is cheaper (in my case about $5000 less in tuition yearly)
• I have close family in Ellensburg and have grown up spending time there. The work I do requires audio/video recording and would be a struggle to accomplish in a dorm, but having access to a family member's home nearby would likely help a ton.
• Both schools are in small rural areas, but I prefer the Ellensburg area and definitely prefer its climate over Pullman (much more sun than Pullman and here in Seattle, less snow)
• More intimate education environment that I predict I would work a lot better in

Pro WSU-

• It's pretty obvious that WSU has more going on socially and a larger student body. I'm not remotely interested in greek life but see myself occassionaly attending major social events. Having the option to participate in that portion of the "college experience" is definitely something I think is worth considering. Although I'm not an incredibly social person I'm sure I could meet people at either school, there just might be less options and less lively activities at Central.
• Better fashion program, in fact the best in the PNW apparently (my chosen major, at least for now lol)

I think its fairly likely that I'll end up transferring out of state after a couple years regardless of which I choose in Washington, so I recognize that the decision isn't permanent and may not even be the school I graduate from. But I digress.
I realize you will all naturally be slightly biased towards you own school, but what would you add that might help me make my decision? Thanks in advance!
