After watching the Denver - Minnesota series, and the analysis from Thinking Basketball on what each team has done, my mind is spinning with what the Celtics can do to counter the Nuggets offense. I think the real answer has to be a combination of a few counters that address the Nuggets getting into rhythm with specific offensive sequences, and the ones I think form the backbone of the Nuggets offense are:

• Jokic/Murray 2-man game
  • DHO (drive/3pter)
  • short roll to Jokic
  • pick and pop
  • spread PnR
• Jokic high-post iso back-down
  • contested mid range back to basket hook/sombor shuffle
  • lob to Gordon
  • kickout to open 3
• Top of key Jokic assists to off-ball motion
  • skip pass -> catch & shoot
  • cutters downhill to the basket
  • Gordon in the dunker

I've probably missed some actions here, so I will add to the list when you let me know what I omitted in the comments.
So to to start, I think the Celtics can learn from a few minor successes from defensive schemes and strategies that the T-wolves and the Heat have thrown at them:

• Intense Ball Pressure - Minnesota had lots of success keeping Denver from getting into its offense by pressuring the ball all the way down the court. With two of the best POA defenders in the league, Boston can bring at least as good ball pressure as Minnesota. Even when Jrue or DWhite is having a rest, Pritchard is actually very good at full court press (at least in short bursts), and is fast enough to recover if he's beat. As Thinking Basketball explained, Denver adjusted brilliantly to this by having Aaron Gordon bring up the ball, because this disrupted Minnesota's strategy of sagging their bigs into the paint to maximise rim protection. Boston can counter this adjustment perfectly with either Tatum or Jaylen Brown as long athletic wings whose POA defense is underrated - certainly their ability to smother Gordon advancing the ball will be better than Gobert's or KAT's, and won't force cross-matches once the ball arrives.
• Double bigs to cover Jokic and the rim - Minnesota was able to do this really well with KAT and Gobert, which on paper is a unique tandem of versatile bigs... right? Well, not that unique really - Boston employed this same tactic in the past against Philly with Horford and Rob Williams, but may be even better equipped to do so with Horford and Porzingis, because although Williams was a better rim protector, KP's help recovery makes him more versatile in the paint. KP also complements Horford better on offense, compared to RWIII, and he's more interchangeable on defense (in case of switches or cross-matches). The problem for the Celtics is that they haven't had Horford and KP playing together this year much at all - however, the big athletic wings (JT & JB), and even Jrue Holliday, have enough strength to matchup big too. Can Mazzula stitch together rotations which maximise the time KP & Horford have on the court together when Jokic is leading the offense, or is it in Boston's interest to have someone smaller playing Jokic to bait fouls from his physicality?
• Shifty Zone Defenses - Miami has never been able to shut down the Nuggets, but they have had some limited success in frustrating Jokic with their zone defenses. Notably they did as well as anyone in last year's playoffs by taking a game in the finals, largely due to their zone D. One of the reasons Jokic had two of his worst games this year against the Heat, with stat lines of 12/14/6 and 18/11/7(+4 turnovers in each!), is probably the unique looks that a zone throws at him. On top of this, Miami seems to shift its zone between a 1-3-1 and a 2-3 quite a bit, so it can be hard to know what they are actually doing. Usually dribble penetration is one of the most effective ways of beating a zone, but one weakness Denver offensively is among the fewest drives in the league, according to this analysis from bestball stats. In fact Denver is an outlier in relying on neither drives nor "self-creation" but ball movement, similar to Golden State. Where the Heat have a disadvantage in their zone defense is that Bam is their only big, and he is not even that big. Boston's personnel should be much more effective, with their length and verticality, to disrupt passing lanes, while also avoiding a lot of the confusion of switching and mismatches that the Jokic/Murray two-man game can create.

So what am I suggesting Boston should do?

1. Full-court press, especially on Murray and Jokic, to tire them out and slow them getting into their 2-man game.
2. Continue ball pressure when Gordon or KCP bring up the ball, including fronting Jokic to delay him getting the ball (and forcing the less able distributors to make difficult passes).
3. Neutralise the two-man game with a 2-3 zone: With Jrue and Dwhite up top zoning the duo, with help from JB and JT hedging from the wings, and KP/Horford providing rim protection in the middle, the Nuggets will be forced to be creative and make tough outside shots.
4. Mix up defensive looks regularly - I'm not deluded - the Nugs will come up with counters to the above pretty quickly, but different types of zones, different lineups and pre-switches should create confusion for ball-handlers, and hopefully force turnovers and poor shot selection.
5. Force Jokic post-ups to win games by the numbers. In theory, Boston can match Jokic's great post-up game (60.5FG% on post-ups) with Porzingis' (62.3FG%) - KP actually leads the league among bigs. Ideally they can force Denver's shot diet more towards Jokic post-ups (1.14PPP), and then countering that to carve out their own 3s, ideally from the corner, where they average 43% (=1.29PPP), and they won't even need a particularly hot shooting night to come out on top.
6. Stifle fast breaks with a "free safety" - so much momentum is lost on free buckets in transition, and if DWhite or Holliday can drop straight back to contest the freebies (like a free safety in the NFL), the Celtics will control the tempo much better.
7. Smother Jokic and Murray equally - they are like whack-a-mole, so you can't just focus on one, you have to really stifle them both (and when that is done you still have to worry about Gordon flying up out of nowhere to catch a superhuman lob from the dunker spot!)

My husbands family has a wedding this weekend, it’s a first cousin, my husbands childhood best friend and they still see each other on a weekly basis. My husband and I had talked about this wedding previously— he did not want me to go at all, there are people who will be there who have made their evil intentions knows towards our family and he didn’t want me or our kids exposed to these people. Now there are more extenuating circumstances. I’m pregnant and we have kept it a secret but it’s not worry visible. We have our 1 year old and his daughter this weekend. His daughter has been very sick (not contagious) and my son is supposed to get tubes in his ears next week. The doctor told us if he gets sick between now (with anything other than an ear infection—like Covid or the flu or strep) and his tubes, we have to postpone and the next availability isn’t until July. He’s had 8 ear infections in a year and this last one hasn’t gone away in a month— we’ve been on 3 antibiotics. So— we’ve been quarantining to prevent anything else and also he hasn’t felt good. This week my in laws flipped out because I wasn’t going. They told us to bring the kids (they sleep at 7 & 8:30 and the wedding doesn’t start til 8-9pm) get a babysitter (I WILL NEVER get a babysitter for my kids) they kept pushing and pushing “well we know this one and she’s very religious and we’ve used her for years…” like I’ve NEVER met her. You want me to have a stranger watch my kids in my house? Both of the kids have been sick and have never been with anyone other than family. Obviously all the family will be at the wedding. So then we’re left with my parents— they just had Covid last week (I’m also a convert so the relationship is semi-tenuous but I still trust them with the kids). Covid is not as bad as it was… but my stepdaughter was just in the hospital with long related illness and again— my son can’t get sick with something like that before this procedure. But it’s “disrespectful to the family and I’ll look too American not going to their events” if I don’t go to this one wedding when I’ve been to every other important family event. So guess where I am… my parents are coming over despite having COVID because if not then I’m stuck between my in laws being mad at me for not going and my husband being mad at me for going. My husband will get past it but if my in laws stay mad at me it will end up causing way worse problems in the future. So now my stepdaughter who was hospitalized and my son who has been sick for 6 weeks are going to have to be exposed for a stupid wedding that’s haram with mixed genders and music. If my kids get sick I will not be speaking to my in laws. I hope it’s worth it over a wedding.

Ok so I'm 14, I'm "homeschooled", gonna be in my freshman year next school year and I want to go back to school because I want to learn stuff and have yk friends, and the idk.. highschool experience?? Idk but anyways, it started in 4th grade, I'd miss school days almost every day and I'd learn almost like nothing because of that, the reasons are 1. I was bullied by practically my whole grade and it got too much for me I didn't even wanna go to school anymore it was so bad, 2. My parents worked days and nights like 2-12 or 1 at like a Cece's pizza place so me and my little brother would always get picked up late after school then go to their work since nobody could watch us, we barely got sleep because of that, our hygiene was shit too cause we were never home (meaning bully got more to bully us for), but like a few months before my parents worked at this like wearhouse thing and it shut down so they both lost their jobs so we were like having to borrow money for bills and stuff, they were always at work to get me and my little brother food and make sure we still had our apartment, eventually though we got kicked out of our apartment and then we had to go live with my grandma (dads mom also still living with her). I finished my 4th grade year and that was around covid so everything was shit, I got depressed and developed like major anxiety when talking to other people and going out and I also had a eating disorder but thats besides the point, I was gonna do online school cause covid but like I got too scared and had panic attacks everytime id try to go onto the zoom thing so my mom said she'd talk to the school and figure stuff out for me (this was like 2020 and I was 10-11 I don't remember much) I think, so then she decided she was gonna homeschool me but then that went to shit cause she went through a like mental breakdown and got really depressed so she just got me a school book for 5th grade and told me she'd help me with it but that never happened cause everytime we plan stuff, stuff always gets changed. I've had that book for like 3 years now and I've only done like 2/4 of it (by myself) and I don't know what I should cause I've only had that book and Id only do stuff like every other month, so my knowledge or whatever is like still a 4th graders, I've been leaning stuff recently through or at least attempting too cause my mom said I have to take a test or something so they can see if I know everything I need to know to get to the next grade and into the school but I've just started doing this like a day ago and as I said my knowledge or whatever is like a 4th graders. I'm really wanting to go to school, I feel embarrassed and dumb and stupid because of this, I want to learn and have a normal life like other kids but ig not (omg I didn't mean to like get all emotional sorry back to the point.) Also my parents aren't bad parents. Current YouTube Dislike Counter extensions work by taking data from those who have the extension and extrapolate information from there. The issue is that those who have the extension are individuals who are more likely to dislike, skewing the sample size to those who are more likely to dislike than the casual viewer.
A better look into those details would be comparing the publicly available Likes to View and calculating a percentage based on how likely someone is to Like a video while viewing. A simple calculation is Like / View. Reversing it to Views / Likes shows how many views it takes to receive 1 like.
This calculation doesn't magically make RoP the most successful trailer ever. Far from it, but it does better reflect the data and I believe it to not be skewed one direction or the other.

INTRODUCTION
YouTube statistics, specifically likes/dislikes, is a common point in many online discussions when talking about upcoming media. Rings of Power Season 1 & 2 are not exempt from this. Since YouTubes removal of a dislike button in 2021 different extensions have come into play to replicate that. Most commonly the "Replace YouTube Dislike Button" Extension for Chrome (and probably other Browsers). My hope here is to
1) Point to the flaws that are associated with that extension.
2) A better way to measure Like/dislike engagement with publicly available data. By dividing the Likes by the Views to see how likely someone is to like the video.
3) The flaws associated with this method.
 
1) THE RETURN THE YOUTUBE DISLIKE EXTENTION (RYD)
Being made after YouTube removed the Dislike button in late 2021, this extensions goal was to return the dislike to YouTube (Duh). On release, Dislike data was still reported by YouTube API. So it began as a pretty straightforward app that simply called that data from the API and inserted it into the web page. Shortly after, YouTube removed that data from the API all together. Creators could still privately view their like/dislike, but that data couldn't be accessed by a 3rd party.
To counter that the app started working in a new way, it 1) Pulled as much information from the API that it could to have a "Base" set of data for videos posted before the removal. 2) Recorded when it's users interacted with the like/dislike buttons and added it to the data base. According to their GitHub FAQ #5 videos uploaded AFTER the API was shutdown is calculated by (RYD User Dislike Count)(RYD User Like Count) * Public Like Count. Simply put. It gets the ratio of it's users likes/dislikes and applies that ratio to the public count.
It's honestly not a bad system, but it has a pretty major flaw. The extension is more likely to be used by those who downvote more often. This simply skews the data to be Dislike heavy. This is pretty verifiable by doing a simple Google Search and reading up on what different YouTube Creators are saying. This Creator is claiming that the extension reports 50+ dislikes while YouTube reports 15! a ~230% increase!
The Return the YouTube Dislike Extent ion could be great, if people who are casual viewers & those who commonly like videos would download and use it as well. However, that's not the case and the result is a large group of their users are those who are more likely to downvote and want to see those numbers.
 
THE BETTER METHOD
I believe a better method to see the positive engagement of a video is looking at how likely someone is to "Like" the video per view. This is easily calculated by Getting the Like count and dividing it by the view count. You can also reverse that to calculate how many views it takes to get a like on overage. Since both of these numbers are publicly available, we can be much more confident that the numbers aren't skewed by an outside 3rd party group.
Lets look at different recently released trailers, Most "Successful" with this method to least.

Using this method, We can easily see the level of "Excitement" there is behind each trailer based on how likely someone is to like the video, and we can easily compare these numbers as well if you're so inclined.
 
LIMITATIONS OF LIKE/VIEW METHOD
As time progresses, opinions change. What might have been a highly anticiped tv show or movie could have been a dud and gotten a bunch of dislikes after the release. Or something could have flown under the radar, turned out great and so people are going back to the trailer and liking it out of excitement of the finished product. Because of this, this method shouldn't really be used to compare new and old videos as too many variables come up as time progresses. I did this in my TLDR section to compare season 1 & 2. A workaround for this would to pull the data from Waybackmachine for the same time period in relation. So what I should of done in my TLDR is grab a capture 2 days after reveal of the data. So a more accurate table would look like this...

CONCLUSION
Non of this really matters. If you like the show, great! If you don't, great! Either way, touch grass and hug a loved one (I know I need to after writing all of this lol). It's what J.R.R Tolkien would have wanted.
I like data and major way people are comparing trailers is flawed and has a biased sample size. I think comparing Likes to views is a better way. This doesn't Magically make RoP somehow the most popular & well liked media ever produced. Far from it. But it is a better look at how it's trailers compare to other recent trailers.

Maybe I dreamed this but within the last few days I remember watching a Livestream of AK's ex in which AK showed up at end of the stream to her residence (I believe with a restraining order).
Does anybody else remember this or was I dreaming. Can't find anything about it online nor the reddit post I remember which linked to the stream.
I may have some of the details wrong.

I don’t have anything capable of playing a dvd, so as tempting as it is I don’t think I wanna invest in one just for one series, I’ve looked online but all I can find is the “tier 2” version I typically try not to resort to this unless there’s no other way for me to watch something

So after realizing my online experience was dreary due to hackers, modders, assholes, glitches, nothing working right I learned about the meta file in this sub. I watched the YouTube and the guy picked "password" as the unique term (it's referred to as a password) and I found much more happiness. For a while. Things worked better but after some time there was a ton of people and modders/hackers again. So I changed the word "password" to "passwords" and things improved for a while.
Later and most recently I would spend an hour or more trying to find a 3 star or any star animal for Cripps. If I was online for 2 hours most of that time was finding a single freaking deer or ram. Plus an increasing number of modders and hackers again. So I changed "passwords" to "passwerd" and found myself in a true solo lobby, not one other player was present.
Everything works, and animals are EVERYWHERE and I had 3 legendary animals appear during a 2 hour play (haven't seen one of those in months) and also I found myself literally walking into missions wherever I went. Like I am riding along and there is someone who needs to be rescued from Skinner Bros or something...This game is freaking awesome when it all works I mean holy cow.
So the moral to the story is if you use the meta file pick a unique password if you're having the problems I was experiencing and if you change yours to "passwerd" we might cross paths at some point!

Just found out I passed AT/AT/T!!!
So beyond proud of myself and so grateful for the resources this sub led me to.
Don't be like me and wait so long to take the exam, I had until June 7th to take and pass or else I would have had to reapply. I finally buckled down the beginning of April and booked it for 15 May. Unfortunately there weren't any in person slots left near me in the timeline I had left, so I had to opt for online. I would not recommend taking online unless it's your last resort, I had completed check-in and was waiting for the proctor to review my pictures, never got a chat or any notification they would be calling me, (once you get to this point in check-in it is recording you and says you must follow all exam rules, so I felt I could not answer my phone until they gave me a notification that they were calling, it's very confusing) and when I didn't answer, all the sudden the window closed and said it was complete. I was a hysterical mess thinking I just wasted $400 and tried to call the number back and no luck. I tried the check-in process again after calming down and had success this time, the proctor reached out via chat and then did a video call vs calling my phone. I needed to prove monitors were unplugged (I then lost internet connection while moving my laptop to show the cord and was about ready to give up at this point, but luckily the ethernet cord got set straight and reconnected) and I was able to start my exam.
Definitely take both breaks and get up to stretch in the very least. I had good timing and never felt rushed, I did utilize the flagging and had plenty of time to go back and review. If I felt I was spending an excessively long time on a question I picked an answer and flagged to keep moving.
After taking the test I felt pretty good about it, but not great, it also sucks that when you take online you have to wait 24-48 hours to find out your results. I had already told myself if I failed I was retaking in a test center bc of how awful this experience was taking online.
My study plan/resources:
I had already watched some of the AR Udemy course at that point, but restarted it and also focused on the mindset portion this time. I also used Study Hall (essentials) and did all practice mini exams and 1 full length exam (73% on the full length and average of 76% on all exams). I read about the DM videos on this sub and highly recommend. I'm convinced that those and Study Hall are what prepared me the best and got me 2 AT's. I unfortunately didn't have time to watch the DM videos in full, but watched a good portion of each (200 Agile, 100 waterfall, 150 PMBOK).
I was not religiously studying everyday as I probably should have, and should have had more of a plan other than taking practice questions and exams, but it ended up working for me. Once you start getting a feel for the questions in Study Hall and get consistent results in the 70s you should be good. I have a few years experience as a Program Manager and felt I had a basic understanding going into this, but getting into the mindset is the most important part in my opinion.
Hilarious sidenote- the photo you submit during check-in pops up when you take breaks and my photo was a HOT MESS after initially not getting through check-in, we are talking very obvious I had cried and was barely holding it together. It made me laugh so hard when I got to my first break and helped relieve some stress. I wished I had been able to save it bc it's that hilarious of a photo. Today it popped up when I clicked to look at my exam report, huzzah!

The title of this post may seem insane to most people, I know. Although it is long, please follow me closely as I explain why Beyoncé is the loser of a beef that she wasn't even included in.
We are currently in a time in the music world where the "top artists" are releasing some of their worst work, their desires are CLEARLY outweighing their passion, and their fandoms' dedication outweighs their actual value. Let's look at a few examples:

1. Kanye West: I don't even think an explanation is necessary here
2. Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday 2 & "Big Foo"t: ...
3. Cardi B - "Enough (Miami)": literally sounds like every Cardi B song ever...

& many others. you know who.
Basically... music is not music right now (the mainstream, top performers). Passion is being replaced with greed, which kinda makes sense given the economy rn, but consumers continuing to be passive & dismissive about this is dangerous for the future of art AND EDUCATION (I'll get to that).
The Kendrick Lamar vs. Drake beef was not just a cool rap moment. The music that came from both sides of this beef, as well as the events that occurred outside of the music, drew a BOLD line between Entertainers/Pop Stars and Artists. It also revealed another important question: when CAN the music be separated from the artist (notice I said "can" instead of "should")?
See, many people throw around the phrase "we SHOULD separate the art from the artist." However... how did separating R. Kelly's art from him go? He had a cult following of people who SAW him and KNEW about him being a predator, but didn't care. This allowed his career to grow and gave him more money & resources to hurt people and simply make black people look a little cuckoo for continuously rallying behind him. WE CANNOT SEPARATE HIM FROM HIS ART. Unless you're cool with jamming to songs about little girls.
Pop Stars, like Drake and Beyoncé, get hella passes for their actions. Kendrick Lamar absolutely broke that wall down regarding Drake. He showed that Drake's "art" is not only flawed, but his tactics are detrimental to an entire culture and to art. I won't go in too much detail just because there are many articles/videos that break their beef down. We heard Kendrick describe his interpretation of Drake's relationship with Atlanta (which I agree with) in "Not Like Us." However... I don't think Kendrick knew he was breaking Beyoncé's wall down as well...
The possibility of separating Beyoncé from her work was thrown in the trash in 2013 with her surprise self-titled album. See, her first 4 solo albums were AMAZING (imo). She did a DAMN good job with those records without tactics that have detrimental consequences SOCIALLY (I'm aware of her theft allegations during this time, but for this post I'm discussing her impact on the world collectively rather than just within the industry). We could enjoy the music without feeling guilty due to her political and business decisions. Thus, we COULD separate the art from the artist. However... she stripped that ability away from us with each album after 4. *let me please note that I believe that pop stars should not dabble in activism, so this next section may slightly sound biased bc of that belief, but I'm doing my best to stay neutral*

1. Beyoncé (2013) - there's not much wrong with this album to me, but I mention it because I believe it's the catalyst. Feminism had a big year in 2013 (https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/dec/16/feminism-minority-voices-2013-inclusion), and feminism was a large theme of the album. Whether this was intentional or not, it had an impact (https://www.elle.com/culture/a35492/beyonce-and-feminism-essay/). I don't believe there were greedy/shady intentions with this album or its promotion, I just think the success of this album could've prompted the choices she and her team made for the following albums.
2. Lemonade (2016) - This is an amazing album sonically and visually. But... the promotion. So, the film she released with the album went through 11 chapters that represented the 11 songs on the album. Oh wait... there's 12 songs on Lemonade. Formation is thrown on at the end. The album is clearly relationship centered, but she released Formation as the single with all the black power imagery during a time where Black Lives Matter was moving heavy (I am black btw). I feel like the racial and social impact of this album is due to our own interpretations and theories about the album's meaning, and I think it was made that way on purpose. I think they had a great 11 song album that could've sold on its own, but Formation was used to stir the pot and I personally feel like using activism for marketing in an album rollout for pop music is unethical. maybe I'll do a separate post on that.
3. Renaissance (2022) - 2020-2022 was a big period for the LGBT community, particularly the trans community. Also, the hype around the show Pose was booming. I love this album. But come on... look into the promotion

You see where I'm going here. When you pair this with all of the other mess like the songwriting allegations, her obvious goal of billionaire status, and promoting wealth to us as if it coincides with excellence and it's something we should all be striving for, all while being held up as a LEADER in the black community or even the black art space..... it's a no for me. The music is great but I can't financially support an artist like that.
However... Kendrick Lamar's music connects with me on a different level because it coincides with the human experience. He is honest, authentic, and creative in his work. Artists being themselves is what inspires transformation in me. He doesn't have to use overboard promotional tactics and grift to a specific demographic to take care of himself and his family. And Beyoncé doesn't have to either. Also... Kendrick is competent and knowledgeable about his work. We know the passion behind it because we see it in the lyrics, hear it in his delivery, and feel it when he discusses it. Never any large consumerism tactics behind it... any of that.
Kendrick is sticking out in the industry right now (to me) because he has separated himself from the "greedy pop star," like Drake. It shines a light on the true artistry in Kendrick's work, and the lack of it in Drake's. And when I looked into Drake's mess, I found a bunch of other top stars' mess as well. And that includes Beyoncé.
I call Bey the real loser of the Kendrick vs. Drake beef because I believe she has been held at the top spot for us (black ppl) for a while. She just won an "innovator" award. Her image doesn't coincide with what is on paper and wax for me anymore. She's a hell of a performer... but there's too many questionable elements here. Kendrick has not only proven himself to be the top rapper, but the TOP artist (at least among black artists, but I believe overall).
Yes, the pop stars are "bigger." More fans, more money, more power, crazier fans, more resources, etc. Beyoncé is the most adored; the bigger one. But when it comes to art, which I'm passionate about DEARLY.... it's Kendrick for me. Listen to his albums and tell me different.
