Hello fellow travel community:
In March 2024 my partner and I walked the famous O-circuit in Torres del Paine national park in 10 days/9nights at the end of a 2 month trip through Patagonia. I'd like to take the time to give a thorough summary and some thoughts of our experience to help fellow travelers in the future as I have struggled greatly with the planning, preparation, expectation management and also during the trek itself. In the first part (A) I will give you the good, the bad and the "torres-del-pain-in-the-ass" part of this famous and much visited national park. In the second part (B) I'll summarize our route, skill level and what it needs to organize your trip. In the end I put together a rough price overview. In the third part (C) I give some advice on what I would have done differently and point out our highlights that will hopefully help you to not repeat the mistakes we did.
A) The good, the bad and the ugly: Let's start with the good: The nature sights in the park are incredibly diverse and worth seeing, the tracks are well marked and it's hard to get lost. The services they provide will help anyone to manage to do at least the W-Trek or O-Circuit as long as you have enough physical fitness to hike roughly 4 hours a day. You can do it fairly cheap (for such an expensive park) if you book ahead, bring your own food and tent. There are a lot of people for a reason but besides the route from Central/Chileno to the torres del paine themselves there's enough space to hike for everyone without "standing in line". The camping experience is fairly luxurious with warm showers in most places, refugios with kitchen areas. toilets with toilet paper and toilet seats, check-ins and even (paid) wifi stations in most campgrounds. Also as the park is very regulated they do manage to keep it fairly clean. Campground CUERNOS had an incredible friendly staff team and they also gave us some Wifi to book a bus for free and helped us with many small things.
The bad: The park is highly regulated and very popular making it seem crowded so you will not experience the "freedom of nature" aspect that at least I search for when going to national parks. The prices are for chilean standards pretty high compared to chilean standards (i.e. 30 dollars for a full meal, 16 dollars for a pizza, 7-9 dollars for beer, 8 dollars for internet, 3 dollars for a roll of cookies). Trail conditions range from good to really bad (depended on weather conditions). Expect to walk through streams and mud on parts of the trail. Also expect patagonia weather (we were there at the end of season in March): Strong Winds/Storm, rain and temperatures around 0°C.
The ugly: The booking system is a nightmare concerning there are two companies that you have to book individually and leaving no room for flexibility.. Expect to spend 2-3 hours to do your booking and check out this site that helped me a lot: https://stingynomads.com/o-circuit-trekking-torres-del-paine-chile/ You can try to do it spontaneously (check our route in part B) but expect that even with your own tent, when they are booked out you will have to walk on. In the campgrounds on the W-Trek (besides GRAY), the tent spots are on platforms making it hard to put up your tent, and cooling it down as winds will circulate all around it (our MSR hubba hubba NX) ripped in the storm). You are only allowed to cook in certain and mostly tiny areas (i.e. in SERON or GRAY), so don't expect to have camping-dinner in a "beautiful landscape" but rather crowded in a shed. What bothered me the most even though I see it necessary with that many tourists is the regulations: You have to check in everywhere with your passport (often twice; once for the camping and once at the ranger station. They took away our MSR-Gasoline burner as it was not allowed in the park (I still can’t find this information anywhere). And last but not least: Be aware of MICE. We were not the only once who have holes in our tent and backpacks now.
B) Our route: Before I give you an overview two-three words to our fitness level and mountain-experience: As we are both swiss and have been camping in Patagonia for two months before the O-Trek we were in pretty good shape, had pretty good gear and had no trouble with carring our own food and tent for a couple of hours a day. Also being on a longer trip we tried to do most things low-budget but still had money for a beer at the end of the day.

The two companies are Vertice Patagonia (for SERON, DICKSON, LOS PERROS, GRAY and PAINE GRANDE: Most people stay in each camp only one night. The W-Track campgrounds (FRANCES, Cuernos, Chileno and Central can be booked through
Day 1: From Puerto Natales with Bus-Sur (https://www.bussur.com/) to Laguna Amara to check in the park (buy your entry tickets beforehand! https://www.bookingpatagonia.travel)– Shuttle to the welcome center and start the O-Circuit to the first campground SERON (the walk as the campground are not that great but it’s easy hiking). Day 2/3: From there to DICKSON where we stayed two nights and one day on a beautiful beach with view to a glacier. Day 4: Easy hike to LOS PERROS (by far the most simple campground, with very little possibilities to buy food or shower (not that that’s overly necessary while hiking 😉) Day 5: Longest and heaviest but also our favorite part of the whole trek with crossing the pass and walking alongside the fantastic Grey-glacier. Sleeping one night at GREY. Day 6: Pretty hike to PAINE GRANDE Day 7: Hike to the bottom of the Frances Valley – left our bags there and went up to the two miradors (Frances lookout (very pretty) and further to Britanico (also pretty). After that we walked further to FRANCES where they had no spots left so we went on to CUERNOS and got lucky (don’t risk it). Day 8/9: Due to bad weather we stayed in CUERNOS, also to not miss our only expensive reservation at Chileno. Cuernos is in my opinion by far the most beautiful, laidback and friendly campground on the whole Trek. Day 10: Hike to CHILENO, which is the most horrible campground and completely overflowed by (day) – tourists. Still we were glad to see the torres del paine at the end Day 11: Return to Puerto Natales where we stayed in the lovely YAGAN HOUSE to rest and where I’m writing this post right now.
What do you need for the O-Circuit or W-Trek?
Besides a certain level of fitness you can really decide how much comfort you need and weight on your back you want to carry. You can get potable water in all the camps and in multiple rivers and streams so we normally carried 2-3 liters for two people during our treks. Food you can bring everything yourself or get the (expensive) all inclusive Food-Plan (Breakfast/Lunch or just the dinners) or eat Pizza or Burger in most (but not all places). The food ranged from what we heard from nice sandwiches to great three course meals to mediocre heat-up ravioli. Same goes for tents. The expensive tents are very comfortable (we had one in CHILENO as the other spots were booked out). We decided to bring all of our meals ourselfes, as always a shitload of herbs and spices and only stocked up on (expensive) snacks and beers to reduce our overall weight. Depending on the time of year you need to adjust your gear accordingly and be prepared for all weather conditions. I strongly recommend hiking poles and good shoes, even though I saw multiple tourists walking with sneakers up and down the mountains (through the snow 😉 – your choice). Don’t bother bringing a lot powerbanks and such as you can load your phones in every campground.
Rough Price for our “budget-way” O-Circuit (for one person):
Bus: There and Back: 44$ Shuttle: There and Back 12$ Entry to the park: 50$ Campgrounds: 9-12$ per night if you book ahead.  100$ Fancy campgrounds/tents (if you don’t book ahead or need comfort) at CHILENO & CUERNOS around 180$ Snacks/Beers/Wine: 15$/day  150$ One dinner at CUERNOS: 30$ Additional: Camping costs to stay flexible: 40$ Food that we bought in Puerto Natales: 60$/Person  60$
Total: Roughly 600$ for the whole O-Circuit
I would say the lowest you can go is 350$ if you stay shorter and book everything ahead.
C) Recommendations and what I would have done differently
I am glad that we have done the O-Trek even though I don’t think I would ever go back to Torres del Paine as it was filled with as many hardships and good memories. There are many things I would have done differently which is also the reason why I wanted to write this thorough post.
1) Give yourself two chances to see the Torres del paine as you can’t predict the weather: I would recommend staying the first night at Central/Chileno, arrive early in the morning and try to see the Torres if you get lucky with the weather. Like this you will have it “out of your system” as we saw many disappointed faces who didn’t get lucky (we had a 30 minute window where the sky cleared up). If you don’t get lucky you will have a second chance before you finish the W-Trek. 2) Don’t try to be flexible and book everything ahead (including busses and entry ticket) saving you some trouble. 3) Even though the Walk along the Grey Glacier after the pass was my favorite part I would not do the O-Circuit again but stay on W-Trek as the landscape is in my opinion nicer on that side of the park. Also you can get more “good stuff” by doing a day trip to the Grey Glacier starting from GREY. 4) Mouse-prove your food or even hang up your food in the cooking areas (ask the staff beforehand if that’s possible. 5) Pack as light as possible as the distances are still long if you are a frequent hiker, we highly underestimated the winds and weather conditions. 6) There’s a reason why everyone wants to in the main tourist season  I like to be in the calmer season but the park is so popular that it’s full all season around so you might as well aim for better weather by going in Dec – Feb. 7) Pack some medicine, etc. We saw multiple people who hurt themselves which proves difficult when you will probably still have to hike on for multiple days (gladly I twisted my ankle 3km before the finish-line on the last day. 8) Handle your expectations as they are the route of all evil: It’s Patagonia; the weather is rough and unpredictable – but it changes a lot so no matter what – you will see some beautiful sights at some point.
I hope this summary of our trip has helped you to get a better impression on your planning to go to Torres del Paine national park.

To end with one last recommendation. Our favorite park in Patagonia is the new established Perito Moreno National park. Without a car it’s really hard to get there but it’s really worth it because there are almost no people, it’s free of charge (also the refugios if you book ahead), the beauty of the landscapes is comparable (if not better) then Torres del Paine and you get this off-the-grid-nature-feeling that most of us love and crave!

Good afternoon, I have a question and it is that I want to update my BIOS to be able to incorporate a Ryzen 7 5800X - I currently have these components:
Motherboard: Aorus B450 Pro
Processor: Ryzen 7 2700
Graphics card: Zotac Nvidia RTX 2060
Ram: DDR4 - 32 GB Corsair 3200 MHz
Download the program from Aorus APP center and my BIOS version is F41
The question I have is, what version should I download from the web or what steps should I follow to update my BIOS?
I've been watching some videos and they tell me that I need a tool called EC update tool (or something like that) to update from v41 to v50. Can I go directly to v64 without using the EC update tool?
A few days ago I tried to update the BIOS with a pendrive by inserting the v64h directly, I stopped updating and left, when I came back I saw that the screen went black, after about 15-20 minutes. I turned off the PC and unplugged it from the light, plugged it back in and it worked without a problem.
I have no idea how to do these things.
Maybe I can update directly from APP Center without using any USB?

Hace unos días trate de actualizar la BIOS con un pendrive metiendo la v64h directamente, deje actualizando y me fuí, al volver vi que se quedo la pantalla en negra, pasado unos 15-20 min. apague el pc y lo desenchufe de la luz, lo volvi a enchufar y funciono sin problema.
No tengo ni idea de hacer estas cosas.

Since Payday 2's modifications community is slow in adding add-on weapons, I might as well suggest these new weapons, map cosmetics, weapon accessories, and heister costumes and masks to add to Payday 3.
At the moment, Payday 3's main weapon list is mostly duplicate weapons from Payday 2, so we don't need to see anymore duplicates from the past game. And no game that I know of utilizes any of these weapons and 3D props listed below, so... why not implement all of these into Payday 3 as an improvement for it's primary, secondary, and overkill weapon roster?

S&P 500 futures climb after the index's worst session since September: Live updates

Stock futures climbed Thursday morning after the recent market rally took a breather.
S&P 500 futures added 0.5%, while the Nasdaq 100 futures advanced 0.66%. Futures connected to the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 160 points, or 0.4%.
Micron jumped more than 4% in postmarket action after beating Wall Street expectations for the first three months of its new fiscal year. The company also offered current-quarter guidance that exceeded analysts’ consensus forecasts. Salesforce gained 2% following an upgrade from Morgan Stanley.
The moves follow a losing day on Wall Street, during which investors took profits after recent gains. The S&P 500 dropped almost 1.5%, its worst day since September.
The Dow and Nasdaq slipped about 1.3% and 1.5%, respectively, to notch their worst sessions since October. Wednesday’s session also also snapped nine-day winning streaks for both.
Those drops mark a breather from the recent market rally. From their late October closing lows through Tuesday, the Dow and S&P 500 both jumped more than 15%. The Nasdaq Composite surged roughly 19% over the same period.
“The markets have run so strongly for so long,” said Rob Haworth, senior investment strategist at U.S. Bank Asset Management. “There’s maybe just some exhaustion in terms of buyers, and we’re starting a bit of a short-term consolidation phase.”
Investors will watch Thursday for data on jobless claims and the third-quarter gross domestic product before Friday’s reading of the personal consumption expenditures price index, which is a closely followed gauge of inflation. Traders will also monitor Nike earnings expected Thursday after the bell.

S&P 500 futures climb after the index's worst session since September: Live updates

Stock futures climbed Thursday morning after the recent market rally took a breather.
S&P 500 futures added 0.5%, while the Nasdaq 100 futures advanced 0.66%. Futures connected to the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 160 points, or 0.4%.
Micron jumped more than 4% in postmarket action after beating Wall Street expectations for the first three months of its new fiscal year. The company also offered current-quarter guidance that exceeded analysts’ consensus forecasts. Salesforce gained 2% following an upgrade from Morgan Stanley.
The moves follow a losing day on Wall Street, during which investors took profits after recent gains. The S&P 500 dropped almost 1.5%, its worst day since September.
The Dow and Nasdaq slipped about 1.3% and 1.5%, respectively, to notch their worst sessions since October. Wednesday’s session also also snapped nine-day winning streaks for both.
Those drops mark a breather from the recent market rally. From their late October closing lows through Tuesday, the Dow and S&P 500 both jumped more than 15%. The Nasdaq Composite surged roughly 19% over the same period.
“The markets have run so strongly for so long,” said Rob Haworth, senior investment strategist at U.S. Bank Asset Management. “There’s maybe just some exhaustion in terms of buyers, and we’re starting a bit of a short-term consolidation phase.”
Investors will watch Thursday for data on jobless claims and the third-quarter gross domestic product before Friday’s reading of the personal consumption expenditures price index, which is a closely followed gauge of inflation. Traders will also monitor Nike earnings expected Thursday after the bell.

Boeing — Shares added 1.7% following a report from trade publication The Air Current that said China’s aviation regulator granted clearance to Boeing to resume deliveries of its 737 Max aircraft to the country.
