I was looking for hotels for an upcoming vacation, i came across one hotel which was good at decent price, it was perfect location so i enquired about it on google maps where they asked me to contact the reception for more details and gave me a mobile number. Nothing alarming at this point, hotel wasn’t very cheap or anything.
I called up the number and it was the reception desk, they asked me to whatsapp every detail like name and everything and make the pre-payment of one night (4000) on the given account number. So he could generate the receipt.
I made the payment of 3000 and withheld 1000 saying I’ll pay the rest during checkin. To which the guy agreed. Nothing alarming so far to me.
Now the guy calls me up that his assistant has generated the receipt for full amount so i need to pay full amount. Now i was alarmed so i decided to cancel my reservation and get my refund. The guy said that i need to pay remaining 1000 to initiate refund from his system or no refund at all is possible. Now i was 99% sure that this was scam but i took the chance, it was either lose 3000 or risk 1000 to get 4000 back but at least this way i will have concrete proof of scam when he refuses to refund. So i paid the remaining 1000 and asked for refund.
Now the guy calls me and says that to receive refund i need to open paytm and enter 4000 and enter my upi pin (basically pay him 4000 more) now i was 100% sure that this was scam but i acted clueless and asked him to send this instructions via whatsapp because i cant hear him. He did it all now i have all proof of build up, scam, more scam attempt, and him mocking me for asking refund. Not sure what to do with all this evidence.
Any suggestions are welcome regarding how could people avoid this scam, and what to do next, i cant let him get away. I’ve already filed complain with cyber crime dept but the chance of money reversal are negligible with them.

I’ll go first, I work near the Downtown Target and I recently discovered Harbor Cafe, it’s a tiny place with the sweetest two people staffing the place. They serve amazing Thai food, at an affordable everyday price ($12-15) and perfectly sized portions that leave you satisfied without the usual American-sized leftovers.
There is also a cute little poke bowl place on Seneca St in an alley way - Original Deli that serves food with a home cooked feel.

Valheim was released with critical success, even though it had a number of rough edges on release. It was designed by a small team - not one person, but I think maybe 4 or 5 individuals - and to this day it has been one of my favorite pick ups and it includes consistent progress over the years. It is an entirely different kind of game, but I am curious if the developer has noticed this trajectory and plans to follow it or not.
On release, the team behind Valheim had a clear pathway for continuation and released a road map of further expansions of the game. Although this was a fluid road map and changed quite a lot over the years, it was awesome to know what was upcoming and receive updates for when things were in development or changed. Does Manor Lords have a roadmap? What can we expect to see in the future or is this a nearly finished product?
Also, upon selling so many copies, the team behind Valheim ended up hiring other developers to help out and speed up development - and has not increased in price or required paying for DLC. Is that something that might happen?
Is the developer aware of what happened with Valheim and do we anticipate a similar growth path? If not, I think they should take a look!
What do YOU want to see in Manor Lords future?

I have a small section of my kitchen that I am installing Sektion cabinets to make a pantry/coffee bar, and so I need a very small section of countertop to top a 30x15 cabinet. I debated doing the Ikea butcher block, but it's almost the same price to get such a small piece of real wood butcher block, so I'd like to opt for the real thing. I'm just stuck at installation - can I follow traditional butcher block installation guides, or are there special assembly recommendations with the Ikea cabinets? If you've done this before, would love to hear tips, tricks, words of wisdom/warning before making the final purchase.

They drop from combatants, Glass Collectors, and pots. Wishing Glass comes in multiple rarities equating to their worth. Wishing Glass is used to purchase Dragon's Gifts from Riven. Dragon's Gifts: A set of buffs are randomly chosen, once per run. Between pathways, players can purchase buffs from Riven via Wishing Glass. Buffs are separated into three price point tiers. Rewards: After each pathway, players will return to Riven for their rewards. Subsequent pathways pay out better rewards. Breaking through score thresholds unlock secret chests. Finishing The Coil with a platinum score rewards players with access to the lustrous and lucrative Chamber of Wishes.

I make this post in order to make RD developers see that changes must be made with the mechanics of the game's dynamic events. Currently I am close to the endgame, therefore, I have dedicated myself to obtaining Ravencrest, for that I am doing all the dynamic events and I have come across some that have not been easy at all in the sense of their activation.
First I have seen that there are some events that do not give you ravencrest when doing them the first time. Second, I have realized that some events have a very low activation percentage, close to zero per day. In my case, I have spent almost 16 hours on a site waiting for it to appear where I have guided myself with YouTube videos and they simply do not activate. , like others that are an activation sequence and are so random that they are never activated, for example, escort to defiance, escort to truce and escort to bastium.
For escort to truce to be activated, you need to have previously activated escort to defiance and now you have a percentage that the next escort can be activated, of which from my own experience, I have been able to activate escort to defiance more than five times but The others are not activated, and keep in mind that this event is only activated at three specific times of the day and restarts daily with the server, thus making it more difficult and limiting your participation.
I don't know if the administrators realized in the last update where they reduced the servers and now you can't see the number you are on, complicating this appearance of events much more because now you don't know which channel to go to and then the appearance time It has spread more or simply not appearing in x days due to the small number of channels.
Recommendations, first verify that all the events are working well after the last channel reduction update, second, increase the activation time of the events by correcting those that may not be activating or are much more complex to activate like the one I mentioned above. There are players who are dedicating themselves to leaving guides or tutorials on the appearance of these events, therefore, administrators should provide them with a database so that they can check and share with the community because without a clear official guide of how many events exist and as is their appearance, because they simply become obsolete or impossible.

Hi, my name is Luis.
I’ve built landing pages for SaaS companies that convert 20%+ of cold ad traffic into paying customers. In my agency we charge up to $10k for a single landing page (based on initial fee + performance fee).
Here’s some advice on how to increase your landing page conversion rate.
At the end of the day, paid ads are the best acquisition channel for a startup (it is scalable, predictable and automated), but it has become fu***ng expensive.
You can’t make ads cheaper, but you can turn a 2% CR landing page into a 20% CR landing page to make your ads profitable (and you already know what profitable ads mean: More customers, more revenue, more profit, more investors, more cash, etc.).
Based on what I've seen, high-converting lading pages follow three rules. But, first of all, if I've been able to build 10%, 25% and even 40% conversion rate landing pages is because I understand what drives conversion. Let me explain.
Do you know why they say that the money is in the follow-up? Because the difference between someone who doesn’t know about your product and a buyer is FREQUENCY.
Frequency drives conversion.
Why are retargeting ads so powerful? Because what they really are is a frequency campaign. Constant exposure to THE SAME ONE THING again and again and again.

Conversion rule #1: One big idea or message.

How you communicate your product is crucial. Communicating your product goes way beyond features and benefits. You need a big idea or message.
Sales pages with a conversion rate of 10%+ convey ONE (and only ONE) big idea. And they do it repeatedly—again and again and again and again and again and again.
My headlines refer to my idea, the body text talks about my big idea, my visuals depict my idea, my Q&A centers around my idea, the testimonials I include are the ones that mention my big idea, etc.
A big idea / big message is easy to remember and gets stuck more easily in our brain through repetition.
Which one is easier to remember?
"Focusing without distraction on a cognitively demanding task for an extended period…"
Or...
"deep work.”

Conversion rule #2: No options, no distractions.

That means no pricing plans, no bar menu, no about us page, no links, no “join our email list,” etc. Only one page, where the only way of getting out is by clicking a CTA button that takes you to the sign-up or a demo call.
When it comes to your offer, there are numerous variables to consider: Free trial or no free trial? 7-day or 30-day trial? Pricing? Plans? Features? Cc required or not required? Etc.
I would really love to advise you on exactly what to offer, but I don’t know your product, your industry, your competitors, etc. I can only say that each option has its pros and cons.
For example, free trials without a credit card requirement tend to convert better, but they also attract less committed users (most of those people won’t even try your product).
I’m not stating that one is definitively better than the other. What I’m trying to convey is that you need to test different variables. What works for another company might not work for you, and vice versa.
Remember: Options kill conversion.
So forget about pricing plans. Create ONE compelling offer designed for customer acquisition.

Conversion rule #3: Easy to read.

Headlines, headlines, headlines...
The rest of the copy doesn’t really matter. Convey your big idea through your headlines. Literally.
I should be able to understand your product solely by reading your headlines. The rest of the copy should sell your big idea again and again and again. People are lazy and will scan your page (via headlines) for 10 seconds, before deciding if they understand what your product is about. If they like it, they will keep reading.
So, don’t use typical, vague marketing headlines.
Headlines you don’t want:
“Powered by AI”
Headlines you want (specific):
“Save 300 hours per month thanks to our customizable AI.”

Easy to read. Easy to remember. Full frequency. No distractions.

Those are the building blocks of a great sales page.

Now, I know what you are thinking…

“Everything here resonates with me except ‘no pricing plans’. Can you clarify what you mean?“
My response…

1. Build a second landing page: A dedicated landing page where you’ll be driving ad traffic to and which is designed for conversion.
2. This page should target one specific group of people.
3. Put together ONE single offer: One price point, one set of features and an incentive to sign up TODAY.
4. Want to target another group of people with another messaging/price point/set of features? Go ahead. But, don’t offer 3 plans that will generate friction and create confusion when your CTA is a free trial, bc people will choose the most basic plan in 99% of the cases.

Which seems completely logical, but I get:

I notice a couple of things here, the zeros seem a bit hinky, I first noticed this because of the zeros when I tried making x a (10, 4) shape instead and all the rows but the second were zeros.
I'm going to keep going with the tutorial and just assume that this is just a mistake in the docs but should I be worried about this?
