My parents live in Michigan and decided to take care of heirs and establish a trust. Inheritance is not big ($400k at most). They reached out to legal firm to prepare documents. Lawyers prepared a package, but my parents were not satisfied because it was too general and most probably consisted of templates. So my parents decided to make the decision later. However lawyers somehow forced my parents to sign some "intentions" document.
Now my parents figured out that they can designate beneficiaries in all their banking accounts and don't need the trust. Additionally they found that lawyers prepared some duplicates for documents that my parents already prepared and signed long ago.
Now my parents don't want to sign anything and don't want to pay the $4k+ fee for the services. Legal firm sent them invoice for the package and threats to send bill to collections if they are not going to pay.
Should my parents pay the bill, of the firm makes an empty threats? My parents are form another culture, not native speakers, and excessively polite. They freakout that firm can call a police and sue them, send the $4k bill to collections etc.

Do you provide a "Customer Invoicing/AR" service for clients as an add-on? From what I understand, most firms are batching all invoices to be sent on a weekly basis after client approval. And obviously making clear they are not a collection agency in the engagement letter
I'm just curious, how is the batch data of Invoices to be sent collected from the client in the first place? Well, it might be because you lack the time, resources, or both. But I asked myself: Do I really need to cross out each OR, add "invoice," ensure the "not valid for input tax" message is visible, and then report to the BIR? Why not just replace my ORs with invoices? That’s exactly what I did. Here’s the scoop
Every platform, accounting firm, and tax guru was clamouring to spread the news about RR 7-2024. I released an article about this even before the regulation was officially announced—check it out here.
The Revenue Regulation informs taxpayers that Official Receipts (ORs) are now demoted to secondary status. You can use your current ORs until the end of the year, after which you’ll need to submit an inventory of all unused ORs to the BIR. Efficiency, thy name is not RR 7-2024.
I promptly swapped all my ORs for Service Invoices, cheerfully ignoring RR 7-2024. Freelancers and professionals, gather 'round—let me save you from the black hole of searching, fact-checking, and prepping for a BIR visit.
Step 1: Reconnect with Your Printer:
Remember your trusty, accredited printer? Give them a call and let them know you’re switching from ORs to invoices. Send them a template (There's a copy below) to ensure all the necessary components appear on your new invoice. Ask them to whip up a sample template for you to bring to the BIR.
Step 2: Apply for a New Authority to Print (ATP)
Armed with your printer’s template and a photocopy of your previous ATP certificate, head to your Revenue District Office (RDO). Declare your intention to switch from ORs to invoices under the EOPT law. Here’s what you’ll need:
  • BIR Form 1906 (2 originals)
  • Clear sample of your new invoice (the template from your printer)
  • Photocopy of your last ATP certificate
Step 3: Send the New ATP Certificate to Your Printer
Once you’ve got your new ATP, hand it over to your printer so they can start churning out your shiny new invoices. That's actually it... It will take you about a day or two depending how fast your RDO or how many people the office is servicing that day.
I know you have some questions here are some answers:
What happens to the unused ORs?
According to the BIR, you can keep them as secondary receipts. They don't expire, so hang onto them for acknowledging payments. Just remember, they can’t be used for VAT transactions. Personally, I’m sticking them in a drawer for the next decade. Who needs two receipts anyway?
Do I need to pay to replace my receipts?
The BIR won’t charge you for the ATP application, but your printer will certainly charge for the new invoice printing.
What type of invoice should I use?
Reddit and social media are abuzz with confusion over Service Invoices, Charge Invoices, Billing Invoices, etc. My tip? Let the BIR and your printer sort it out. They’ll determine the best invoice type based on your activities. Typically, Service or Billing Invoices are the go-to options. Visit your RDO for clarity.

We are in the process of bringing on an additional subsidiary who would also like to use the dunning module. In the event that two subsidiaries share a customer, we want to send one dunning letter per subsidiary with the balance the customer owes just to that specific subsidiary, and a statement specific to that sub.
Our customers are set up where the primary subsidiary is the holding company, and then the rest of the subsidiaries are listed as additional subsidiaries on the "subsidiaries" tab.
I've explored using invoice dunning and don't think this is the best option because we don't want to send out a letter for each individual invoice. It seems that our best option is to control this via the fields we are pulling in to the dunning template(s). The reason I'm slightly optimistic is because if you go to the "Subsidiaries" tab on the customer record, you can see a field for the balance by subsidiary. I'm hoping this could mean there are subsidiary level controls available.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've been spinning my wheels on this for a while now

Hi Hyperx team. In a last desperate attempt i try to get some help here. 5 months ago i purchased the Hyperx Cloud2 and i was satisfied until last week the plastic piece of the headband bracket broke. I have found some postings here that confirmed the same problem, so it should not be any news to hyperx. However in the meantime i managed to contact the hyperx support team (via https://hyperx.com/pages/support and the also the German web form).
I was in touch with "Julia", "Karsten", (GER support) and "Maithili" (ENG support) - all HyperX EU Care. They requested some photos of the piece, which i want to have replaced. Also an invoice and a hand written conrifmation (date of inquiry included) had been provided. No result but they keep sending me the same Email template. By now i do not even think they read my Emails, they just copy&paste their template. During my time when i was a SV in a service center we always had some people (key account managers and some others) who could "bypass" the processes and "get things done". This is what i am hoping here to get, because i do not have the impression that these agents are willing or able to help me at all.
I can provide further photos/invoice/information via email/private message. It is highly inconvenient how a little plastic piece (worth at best 3 EUR) causes such a headache. I really would like to keep this headset, as the performance is quite good, but i will not hesitate to get my money back and switch to another brand if this replacement request keeps failing. :(

I've been building a crm over the past year (I'm a software engineer by trade) specifically for the pressure washing industry, and I'm seeking feedback. It's live, so by all means go use it. In addition to feedback, I'm also looking to quantify upsell amounts (this was specifically designed to increase upsells), and gather information on common usage amounts so I can calculate my costs for hosting, CPU usage, storage fees, etc. I've been trying to design it in such a way that it remains easy to use and understand, while still providing beneficial insights into your business. Some information to get you started: This was specifically designed to increase upselling. As such, it automatically sends EVERY quote you put on a property to a customer, every single time. I never understood why we always just respond with "here's the quote you asked for". Instead, "would you like fries with that?". Also, once you quote a house, you'll never have to do it again. And why should you? You've already looked it up on zillow, measured everything out on google etc. The quotes on the property are permanent (they can be edited in realtime, and you can delete them), and the customer can use the link you send them to book jobs forever, without having to call you to ask for quotes.
I'm operating under the assumption that all 2 story 2500 sq vinyl houses (for example) are pretty much the same, with some caveats. I understand that not everybody does it this way, that's fine. And you can still very easily edit the prices to apply to specific properties. When you create a new account, it will come with a sample "quote collection" and "saved quote". Quote collections are what they sound like, and my current users are calling them "2500 sq ft 2 story vinyl" for example. You should put all of the quotes that apply to every house in the category in your collection to make adding quotes to properties easier. They can be edited before posting to a property, as well as after, so if there is something about a specific house that increases the pricing of gutter cleaning, for instance, that can be edited on the fly. Saved quotes are things like decks, gazebos, etc. Things that don't apply to every house, but that you see with some regularity.
Quotes are permanently attached to the property, until you delete them. They can be edited in bulk, so if you want to up all of your prices across the board by 3%, you can do that. Or if you want to update all roof wash prices, you can do that as well.
Example usage: Joe Schmo calls, he lives at 1234 main str and wants a house wash quote. You type in his address, it'll pop up in the autocomplete. When you click it, it takes you to that address, and gives you all of the info on that address (past jobs, upcoming jobs, customers, etc.). Click on the quote collection that applies to that address, make any edits you need, click on the house wash quote in the "existing quotes" box, and fire the email.
Joe Schmo will get an email, with a list of your quotes that he can scroll through at his own leisure, select the services he wants, and book. This also asks for his name/phone number (if you don't already have it in the crm) and optionally, lead source. This will populate his data into the crm for you.
That request will show up on your dashboard as a requested job. Click on it to see the job, schedule, etc. Scheduling also automatically generates an invoice, which follows your payment terms (or defaults to net-30 commercial and net-7 residential.
Customers also receive job tracking emails, where they can track the status of their job.
Automated email is about to be released (just have more testing to do), which will allow you to create custom email templates that go out at your specified times (i.e. a week after you send quotes if they haven't booked, a day before scheduled job as confirmation, a month before what you deem to be a follow-up/repeat service, etc.).

At my old job, when qb came out with the new version of the invoices, we changed it back to the old version. However, with my new job, my coworkers were asking me if I knew how to change it back and I told them I did. I remember there was a button on the top right to change it back, but its not showing up for us? Has anyone managed to change it back a different way?

Edit: Thank you to everyone who has replied!! So far for us, whenever we print our invoices, the template shows up as it did with the old version. The issue is the layout of creating and editing the invoices that we all hate 🥲. I wonder if they took away the option to change back to the old version, because too many people hated it?
