Hey i’m new to the game, have only played on a server a few month back and decided to pick up the free trial to play for a couple of days before buying it on the promo, but I have mildly annoying issue rn and just wanted to check if this is normal
I swear I looked up everything, does the first update really take that long?
It started by showing some 4+ hours and went into 10 hours and now it’s stuck in “unknown” while downloading “music027.bgw”
I just downloaded the install files got my account all nice and figured out I just need the game to update to start playing.
Posting it to the sub is my last resort andi’ve read that the old install files were really bad but all the info is really old and I mean I technically downloaded the newest install right?

GOLDEN RAPTURE MINING (GLDR: CSE) is a collection of premier Ontario mining properties in the Rainy River region that have done enough work to unveil potential, below but left a significant amount of gold with great g/t numbers. As of this morning, some numbers will indeed up its profile. Considering the stock has been listed for about two weeks, these results are excellent. Forgive the length of the table, but given the quality of the results, investors must get the whole picture.

Previous work on the properties quickly removes the ubiquitous ‘drill’ on the property or other tropes. These are serious businessmen and women with decades of mining and entrepreneurial experience.

Maverick Springs is adjacent to the Carlin Trend. For the uninitiated, the area contains several of the largest gold mines on Earth. The area includes a number of the largest gold mines on Earth. Maverick Springs is a blind deposit comprising a 30-120 metre thick, flat-lying zone centred on an anticlinal structure with oxidation pervasive to 120 metres and intermittent to 270 metres. (5)
West Whistler property is in the same area as Maverick, closer to the Battle Mountain Trend, alongside Carlin: Near several gold deposits, including the Cortez Mine, North America’s third largest gold mine with 2021 gold production of 828,000 ounces.
Finally, the Clover Property, 16 km west of the massive Hecla Mine in the Northern Nevada Rift. The property sits at the top and centre of the Carlin and Battle Mountain Trends.
Nevada Gold’s active Turquoise Ridge Mine, the third largest gold mine in the United States with 537,000 ounces of gold production reported in 2020, as well as the Twin Creeks open pit mines and the dormant Pinson and Getchell mines.
Element 79 has drilling programs announced for the 2023/24 years and a more vigorous program for 2024/25.

As (GoldSilver.com) an aside, the gold price—and silver—have softened after particularly gold had a decent run. The first two in our group have slid a bit but seem to be holding in nicely.
If one follows gold forecasts, the pundits call for USD 2500-3000 over the next few years. The strategy is simple: A move to USD 3,000 represents a 50% appreciation. However, that also comes with physical and liquidity issues should you want to sell.
And the Gold price?
On December 30, 2022, gold closed the year at $1,819.70 per ounce. Flash forward to one year later, and gold closed 2023 at $2,062.40. That’s a gain of 13.3% in a single year.

Off we go to South America. This time, Columbia with SOMA Gold. (TSXV: SOMA) (WKN: A2P4DU) (OTC: SMAGF) (the “Company” or “Soma“) recently announced that gold production for Q1 2024 was 7,335 AuEq ounces, an increase of 8% over the same period in 2023.

The Company owns two adjacent mining properties in Antioquia, Colombia, with a combined milling capacity of 675 tpd. (Permitted for 1,400 tpd). The El Bagre Mill is currently operating and producing. Internally generated funds are being used to finance a regional exploration program.

Cardero Mine

• The 84 thousand tonnes (kt) production rate in 2022 will ramp up to a peak mining production rate of 248 kt (680 tpd) in 2024. Achieving the planned peak production rate of 248 kt per annum would allow the Company to restart its previously operating El Limon Mill, with feed from Cordero in late 2023.
• El Bagre Gold Mining Complex is located approximately 167 km northeast of Medellín in the Department of Antioquia, Colombia. Soma produced 23,115 ounces of gold at its El Bagre Mill in 2022, an increase of 30% from the previous year. Soma’s production forecast for 2023 is for a further 50% increase to 35,500 ounces of gold produced.
• In addition to its operating El Bagre Mill, Soma owns the 225 tpd Limon Mill, which is located 47 km south of the El Bagre Mill. The Limon Mill has been on care and maintenance since 2020 but will be restarted when production from the Cordero Mine exceeds the capacity of the El Bagre Mill.
• The Limon Mill operates similarly to the El Bagre Mill with two-stage crushing, ball milling, gravity concentration, flotation, cyanidation, Merrill Crowe precipitation, and smelting to produce doré. The mill was upgraded in 2017 to a capacity of 225 tpd and is permitted for up to 400 tpd.

As mentioned, these three companies are similar in that they have what appear to be skookum properties. They are also all great gold proxies, and they all trade for under CDN1.00. Cheekily, I may have said that investors can own all three companies for under CDN 2.00 a share.
While I like the companies, I would buy them for their land positions. All have land that isn’t some dust pit but has either historical or proven assays. And most are near large producers. Element79; Nevada.Carlin Trend? Seriously?

Chapter 10 - The Dolphin
Tenar is practically insensate. Eventually she comes around, and a reality comes to her that the younger man is actually King Lebannen (aka Arren from The Farthest Shore). He is young except for something in his eyes, which considering the past makes a good amount of sense. He kneels to her but she stops him. Lebannen of Enlad was actually seeking her out and thought, for a moment, that she had known this and come to meet him. Labannen agrees to take her to her farm in Middle Valley on Gont. The older sailor offers to carry Therru to bed but Tenar stops him, Labannen does so instead. She feasts on king's food (though not on wine as good as Ogion's was) and is able to convey what has happened with her and Therru. Worse things than what is strikingly visible had happened to Therru, and Tenar is convinced that the leather capped man and her parents had done it. Handy probably couldn't have done much there, but with the curse and Tenar's fear for Therru... in telling this she becomes somewhat befuddled again, was she speaking in Kargish?
Tenar thought they wouldn't be able to reach her where she is heading and wanted to put it in the past, so she looks at Lebannen and instantly knows he is concerned about Ged. She calls him Sparrowhawk and Lebannen say all three of them go by their true names, but she corrects him that actually Ged only did so to both of them. She says, quite matter-of-factly, considering it has never been said outright, that, "'He's in danger from envious men, men of ill will...." Lebannen says he didn't want to believe his power was gone, and Tenar says, "'He wants to be alone until his hurts are healed,' she said at last, cautiously." Lebannen talks about the dry land, the mountains (called Pain) that cut and of which wounds take long to heal, and Tenar is reminded of Ged's hands as well as the stone (of which she picked up when regaining her senses) in her pocket. Lebannen is stately, but grief leaks out when he asks why Ged won't see him. Tenar says when Ged mentioned Lebannen the old Ged peeked out, part of not seeing him is pride, which Lebannen can't see Ged as being (the only word he can thing of when thinking of Ged is "patient"). Ged has changed, though, and has no patience now, just hardness on himself. She starts feeling ill, and on parting Lebannen says, "'Lady Tenar, you say you fled from one enemy and found another; but I came seeking a friend, and found another.'"
She wakes to the commotion of a ship, and Therru is hard to wake. She seems feverish and particularly withdrawn, no matter what Tenar tells her about the positives their new life will bring. There is a mark on Therru's arm, a four-fingered brand almost, from where Handy grabbed her, a promise he would never touch Therru, a promise Tenar could not have kept. Even when Lebannen speaks to Therru she does not answer... eventually she eats a little and is allowed to return to the cabin.
The ship passes through the Armed Cliffs, sandwiched walls filled with soldiered forts. Lebannen is on the high prow with the ship's master (Master Serrathen) and a man who is the Master Windkey of Roke Island. He wears a gray cloak of a mage from Roke Island, a similar one to the ones Ged had worn, through the highs and lows during Tenar's and his adventure together in Atuan. Their conversation is very polite (he is a weatherworker but is unneeded) and Tenar feels a tad like a barbarian... she wonders how a woman would/could succeed in "...their world [of] this dance of masks...."
It would take about a day to make port in Valmouth and Tenar was content to idle away on a makeshift bed the old sailor had made for her, watching the journey. Tenar bring Therru up and a very gnarled old sailor gifts a present to Therru by way of Tenar, a little dolphin carved of ivory or bone. Therru springs to life at the mention that it can go with the bone dolls (the person and animal) but eventually does reticently ask to return to the cabin (where they are) and Tenar has to thank the sailor on her behalf. She sees that all her work with Therru, the last year, might have been lost with that one touch from the appropriately named Handy, and for what reason?
She rejoins the king and mage in a setting that reminds her of her dream of dragons. Lebannen says he has no message for Ged, he has made him king (with their journey) whether he crowns him or not. Tenar sees a vulnerability in him, but it's necessary for him to be a good person: "He thought he had learned pain, but he would learn it again and again, all his life, and forget. And therefore he would not, like Handy, do the easy thing to do." Tenar says she would gladly take a message to Ged though perhaps Ged would not hear it. At this the mage says it was always so with him, and it comes to light he taught Ged and knew him longer than she did ("'But the first time I had him out in a boat, to learn how to speak to the wind, you know, he raised up a waterspout. I saw then what we were in for. I thought, Either he'll be drowned before he's sixteen, or he’ll be archmage before he's forty. ...Or I like to think I thought it.'"). Tenar asks if Ged is still archmage, quite a stark question. "The mage said finally, 'There is now no Archmage of Roke.' His tone was exceedingly cautious and precise. She dared not ask what he meant." Lebannen suggest that "...the Healer of the Rune of Peace..." (Tenar) would have some role in the new politics, to this the mage agrees but not without a beat as well as with no elaboration.
Lebannen reveals things from his journey with Ged and afterward, including (which hits Tenar like a gong) Kalessin, but in particular about Ged's staff being left behind and something that the Master Doorkeeper of Roke had said ("'He has done with doing. He goes home.'") which indicated Ged's time as a mage was done. A counsel was enacted on Roke to choose a new archmage. The king attended to get experience with the Council of the Wise, as well as because Thorion the Master Summoner had perished after his "art was turned against him by that great evil which my lord Sparrowhawk found and ended" (this book says he did not make his way back after meeting with Ged and Arren in the land of the dead and being directed back to the land of the living by Ged). Lebannen has trouble criticizing the wizards but the Master Windkey makes it clear: just like the last book, the counsel was stalemated to inaction. This section also talks about the other Masters in some detail (the Summoner who fled, the Patterner [also Kargish] who kept to the Grove, etc.). Eventually they look to the Master Namer (after all, he knows the names) who looked to the Master Patterner. Finally the Master Patterner said, trancelike, "'A woman on Gont,'" in Kargish, and no more, with no more knowledge of what he said than the rest. So they went to Gont with no more knowledge, though since they knew Tenar was there they thought perhaps it was her who was to lead them to the new archmage (some thought to Ogion, though he was ill and had refused being the archmage in the past, some thought to Ged again).
Tenar is of the opinion that the Master Windkey is wary of her (as she should be of him), but she meets Lebannen with candor. Tenar says it couldn't be her, she wouldn't lead them to Ged. The mage says it's likely it's not her, after all she would likely have been truly known since she is one of the few who "...bear their true names openly!" [ed: which is a bit interesting, in older books it stresses the amount of power one can have over another, and the secrecy among all but the closest, in revealing true names. It's even key to the ending of the first book. Also, she was mainly known as Goha, a use name]. He wants to know if perhaps she knows of anyone, and nothing comes to mind (except maybe the Woman of Kemay of Ogion's story, but she was mentioned as old even in that, unless she truly was long-lived as a dragon). She feels silenced by the "deafness" of the Master Windkey, something similar to her description of when she met the other mages (which included Aspen) after Ogion's death. She says but at least there is now a King, "'In whom our hope and trust are well founded,' the mage said with a warmth that became him well."
Tenar takes time to mention the evils that have seemingly sprung up, like the gangs, like what happened with Therru, like the "...men and women of power..." that have had their power wane or change. The mage puts this on Cob (the antagonist from the last book, from the dry lands) and says it will take time to "...[repair] our art, [heal] our wizards and our wizardry...." Tenar says maybe this is part of something that was already changing ("...a great change..."), that even maybe the fact that the power is shifting from the Master wizards' counsel to a central king is a symptom of this. The Master Windkey reacts to this, almost literally, like casting a spell against a stormcloud, and Tenar is now sure that he can't hear her (can't hear any woman since his mother last sang to him). She puts down his promise of Roke and the Art Magic enduring with a mention of Kalessin (who arrived unfettered in Roke despite one of its legendary claims being its maybe singular protection from dragons). He apologies because he, '...spoke as to an ordinary woman.' "'My fears are ordinary fears.'" "But the young king was silent, listening."
Arrival at a town is announced, it is up to the skillful to sail the ship around the people and not, denying to, the Master Windkey. Tenar instinctually looks for her son's, Flint's, ship and tells Lebannen a little about him (they are little alike, and yet she thought she saw him in Labannen). With the Master Windkey gone they share a bit of a shorthand--"ordinary fear"--and stammers that while there might not be a woman for them now there might be a woman yet for them yet. She says this in kind of a "Isn't that right, no?" way and he answers, "'It may be.'"
Tenar asks Lebannen what this ship is called in case her son asks and it is of course named the Dolphin. She sees Labannen as her son, still. Tenar tells him that she will collect Therru and walk home after staying with her daughter, Apple, in Valmouth. Ged's name is unsaid, but when asked if the wizards of Roke will continue to look for him: "'That, if they propose again, I will forbid,' Lebannen said, not realizing how much he told her in those three words.' But in searching for a new archmage they might come to her again. She says they, and he, are welcome to, and Lebannen says, "'I will come when I can,' he said, a little sternly; and a little wistfully, 'if I can.'"

I was always finding myself with zero money left every last week of the month.

That's BUDGETING. It's nothing but A plan for spending money, monthly.
Here are some elements involved in budgeting before we start the budget:
Income - this is money coming in. Through salary, or YouTube earnings, etc.
Fixed expense - Expenses that occur monthly regularly. Like, mobile data plans.
Variable Expense - These are expenses that may occur and may not occur monthly. Like, eating a fat pizza 🍕.
Savings - Money allocated for savings. Yeah, it's the beginning, boy.
Debt repayment - Money Allocated for debt repayment, remember that guy that you got $50 six months ago, yes. That's that.
Alright, so now you know that, let's get to budgeting.
There are many ways to budgeting, but you can select the one which suits you and your lifestyle.
There are four good budgeting methods to make your monthly finance operations silky smooth.
They are:
50/30/20 Budgeting - here 50% of your monthly income goes to “needs”, 30% goes to “wants” & 20% goes to savings. Yes. (Difference between “needs” and “wants” post link here)
Zero-Based Budgeting - As the name suggests, zero is left at last.
That doesn't mean you don't save. It includes savings as well.
In this budgeting, without any strict percentage rule, money is allocated to your monthly expenses for each category like rent, savings, bills, etc, and at last each dollar is put towards something.
Pay Yourself First - Here you're given priority, at last, first.
Here you save rightway a percentage for yourself first, before you even consider budgeting.
After you're paid i.e., savings are taken care of first, then dollars for other expenses are allocated.
The 60% Solution - Here 60% of your money is portioned to fixed expenses, 10% to irregular expenses, like going on a date, and 30% to flexible spending such as entertainment, that fat pizza you remember?.
Let's take a look at an example for 50/30/20 method.
Here 50% of your income goes to needs - like food, gasoline, mobile bills, all other monthly bills.
Then, 30% goes to wants - like upgrading to a new mobile, Tinder Plus, YouTube Premium, That fat pizza, I mean monthly once ok, right.
Then 20% goes to savings. Create a new savings account. Put it there. Let it sit there.
If you got some leftovers in the other 80%, just put it in here at last. It will help you in ways you can't imagine.
Why the hell do you want to budget? Here's why mate:
Because -
It helps to avoid overspending on certain areas of expenses.
It allows you to save that you'd otherwise spend on dumb things.
Get better control of your savings & expenses.
It keeps you financially stable.
It helps you to avoid sudden unexpected cash rock-bottoms.
And that's it guys. That's a good foundation for your budgeting journey.

What to even say here? This is a massive uphill battle.

This could very well be the last game for the Gennies this season in the Tribute Communities Center tonight. Win or Lose, this may be the last time we see these guys on this ice. I call myself an average plus student. Did 8 months total preparation with 3 months of dedicated phase. did Uworld one pass, AMBOSS for ethics, biostats, Divine for Biostatistics, Screening, and Risk factors. Tried Anki but it was not working for me so left it. I felt something missing while just using Qbank so I used FA step 1 and WCC along with Uworld and Amboss. I extensively annodated wcc and began skimming 1 week prior exam to make sure I didn't missed anything. In case of any conflicts between resources, my ultimate reference was UpToDate.
I panicked much while skimming through contents during last hour ☹️☹️. Got just 4 hours of sleep on night before exam which had clearly affected my functioning during last 2 blocks. I request everyone to have a sound sleep night before exams and limit your Caffeine intake.
This sub has been my most helpful guide so I like to thank everyone associated in this journey.

So caveat right off the bat that this is just my current concept that I'm still workshopping, and this won't be one size fits all for all tables and parties etc etc.
I really like the campaign, I think it lays out a great foundation for a truly memorable campaign that I can't wait to start. That said, I also really hate how it's Central Hub and then a series of fetch quests with little to motivate the players, especially since the fetch quests are to get an item that's not even needed to destroy Vecna, so it can feel punitive unnecessarily. I know a lot of folks have put forth their own ideas on how to improve these things, this is just my take after having read the book and speaking with a bunch of folks.
Prologue/Setting:

• Evernight is cool, but the book wants you to complete that portion, give the players the Vecna Link, and then do a time skip. Instead I plan on running that chapter as part of Tomb of Annihilation, which my party will be running to go from levels 1-10 before Vecna truly starts. The players will be unaware of their Vecna Link until they're summoned to Sigil.
• Most interplanar travel is limited due to Vecna's unraveling of the universe but powerful NPCs aren't yet sure why. Alustriel deduces that she can still travel due to being a Chosen of Mystra, but rather than go hopping around the Multiverse herself, she's secretly using her Sanctum to collect other powerful beings to try and empower and stop Vecna. The players can travel because of the Vecna Link, and Kas can also travel because the Dark Powers give him the power to do so. This is why the players must take on the quest rather than the Wizards themselves, Kas has to pretend he's Mordenkainen and Alustriel is using all her power to keep a window open.
• The Dark Powers want Kas to defeat Vecna so that he can be their pawn and they can feed off of the souls he enslaves.
• MordenKasnen will suggest the players find the pieces of the Rod as it is rumored to be the key to unlocking a vault holding the Sword of Kas, which can defeat Vecna. This way the players aren't totally wasting their time trying to find it and they still have the Sword as a goal.
• If players die, they can resurrect with the power of Vecna but at a cost. They will gain a new element of madness and Vecna will become aware of his power being sapped. From this point on, he will keep an eye on the party, growing increasingly concerned as they grow in power. He can't leave his base due to the ritual, but he will start haunting their dreams, sending members of his Cult, and generally trying to impede them if he sees them as a potential threat.

Underdark:

• Honestly no major notes, I like how this is laid out and always enjoy running around the Underdark. The players will get their first piece and then excitedly return to Sigil to start on the second. I plan to keep this portion short since it's not as exciting for many players as going to other worlds.

Spelljammer:

• The players go to the Astral Sea to try and retrieve their first piece, although I'm going to have them sail the high seas for a while first so they'll need to actually navigate to the dead god and all that.
• The rod piece is locked in a chest that only Inda can open. She is willing to help the party if they fix her prosthetic wing. Unless your players have an artificer in the party, consider pushing them to find one in Eberron, which may be where Inda first got the wing made. My plan is to actually keep the players from getting this Rod piece until after Eberron.

Eberron:

• This will be the first world wherein the players run into members of the Cult of Vecna. I plan to replace the Lord of Blades' followers with Cultists, or at least have them work together. The cult will try to steal the rod piece before the Party can.
• I'm giving Mercy an engineer in her party of pilgrims that could repare the angel wing (see Spelljammer notes). They'll agree to do so if the party assists with the Cyran veterans.
• Kalyth and the Cyran veterans meanwhile will know where the players can find a decent Docent.
• The host of Landro should be a vast supply of knowledge, but not infinite. Maybe he can tell the party of the rumored Hand and Eye of Vecna (which I'll have in Avernus and Greyhawk, respectively). He may also have heard of the Amber Temple in Ravenloft or some other important info.

Ravenloft:

• I have a lot of ideas to change this portion and I haven't fully settled down on one yet. Here are a few of my thoughts which I may combine or select from:
  • Rather than fight at Death House, I may start my party in the village of Barovia where they meet Ismark, who suggests that if they seek guidance they find Madame Eva. She then conducts a Tarroka reading that points the party to the Amber Temple.
  • Madame Eva may also read that they can find allies in Vallaki or Krezk (or wherever you want) where they can meet Esmeralda and van Richten who tell them lore of Kas and the Domains of Dread.
  • The rod piece would be located in the Statue to the God of Secrets (Vecna) in the Amber Temple, protected by the Arcanaloth.
  • As the players leave, they're confronted by Strahd, who has been watching their actions. If for some reason the players have deduced that they're fighting Kas, then Strahd would be willing to let them leave Barovia and take the Rod piece to punish the other vampire lord, whom he finds annoying. Otherwise he tries to claim the piece, they have to fight him, upon his defeat they can leave the mists.
  • I think I'll have Sarusanda be a member of the Vecna Cult disguised as an Inquisitor. She might lure the players into Death House to try and have them killed amongst its traps, thus allowing the cult to steal their assembled rod pieces.
• Like I said, my thoughts here are still messy and I'm figuring out what would fit best for the party.

Krynn:

• After their defeat in Ravenloft, the cult will move back and try to refocus their efforts not on the Rod, but on trying to reclaim the Hand and Eye of Vecna. As such, they will be mysteriously absent from Krynn in such a way taht should make the party paranoid.
• I plan to move the Rod piece to Dargaard Keep and have the characters showdown with Soth. I like Teremini and her plotline, but I think it might work better as a precursor to the main event.
• The players will find MordenKasnen speaking with Soth in a heated argument, trying to get the Death Knight to give him the rod piece and join his side. When discovered, Kas will attempt to flee, but he leaves behind his amulet that goes to his homeworld (Oerth). Before he goes, he destroys the portal to Sigil, leaving the players only one option to escape Krynn.

Oerth:

• Oerth is the homeworld of Kas, Mordenkainen, and Vecna himself, so this will be a chance for them to learn some lore. I plan on the players being transported to Kas's old stronghold, which still has some broken down statues of Kas in his hey day. They will have to navigate to the Tomb from Keoland.
• Acererak will have already made an appearance in my game, since we're going through Tomb of Annihilation first. As such, Acererak will be the final boss of this setting.
• Acererak will have gained the Eye of Vecna during his travels, but his distrust of Vecna means that he doesn't like carrying it on his person. As such, he has put the eye into Rerak. The cult will navigate the dungeon along with the players, forcing occasional run ins. the final fight should be large and epic and have 3-4 competing factions (Players, Cult, Acererak, and Rerak if he's turned against Acererak)
• Once Acererak does fall, he makes an escape through a portal to Avernus, leaving the Rod piece behind. The cultists will try to convince the players to take the Rod and they'll take the Eye.

Avernus:

• Avernus will be home to the Hand of Vecna, in possession of Arkhan. The cult is desperate to get the Hand and is willing to work with the players to get it. Arkhan will offer the players access to Tiamat and the Rod piece if they side with him and destroy the Cultists. The players will have to choose either side or attempt to fight both of them at the same time.
• Once again, the cult is willing to let the party take the Rod if they get the Hand.
• Keep Windfall and her motivations, as they're great in the game. If the players aid Arkhan, he'll bring them to Tiamat but in chains.
• There's a spelljammer in the casino that an unlucky patron gambled away in the past, the players can use this to get back to Sigil after claiming the last Rod piece.

Betrayal:

• Once players return to Sigil with the completed Rod, Kas reappears in the Sanctum and attempts to steal it. Big fight, Alustriel and Tasha join the party, Kas escapes quickly into Pandemos, ideally with the Rod.
• Alustriel and Tasha suggest the players follow him so that they can still regain the Sword of Kas and defeat Vecna. They go to Pandemos and there I go back to book to pretty much run as written, apart from beefing up Vecna's stat block significantly, especially if he does regain the Hand and Eye.

Again, it's not for everyone but I think I'm going to try and go about it in a similar vein to this. My notes on this are still scattered and I'm purposely not trying to iron out every detail, since of course the players will have a lot of agency on how precisely this all turns out. Still, feel free to offer some feedback on what you think may or may not work.

Tl;dr Version for anyone who doesn't want to read a bit of a rant: This game is way too damn greedy.
Some Various disclaimers and background information before the rant:

1. No, this is post is not to shame people who aren't FTP. Do what you want with your money, I just want to explain why I don't think I'll ever support this game financially and see how the rest of the community feels. This is also not some propaganda to get you to either not spend money or stop spending money, or in other words by all means keep supporting Shift-Up and their products, do you boo.
2. I'm not the biggest gacha game player, I've only played two prior to this (Girls Frontline and some Star Wars one), both that I did end up throwing a little money at to support them despite Nikke ultimately being more fun imo (just to show no, I'm not against in game purchases for free games out of principle)
3. I do enjoy this game and don't imagine I'll stop playing any time soon, as far as phone games go this is probably the most fun I've had (not the highest bar to set, I know).
4. I understand that ultimately the goal of any game is to generate income, and I don't hold it against any game. Rather I have a problem with how this game "encourages" you to spend money.
5. I started playing this game during the RE:Zero collab and quickly came to this conclusion, don't know what ultimately compelled me to rant about it (maybe just one too many all blue pulls)

Okay with that out the way let's get to the meat of the issue, which can honestly be summarized to 2 main sins so hell get ready for another list I guess : ^ )
1.The top heavy nature of the roster. "When everybody's special, no one will be"- Angry animated ginger dude (rip in peace). When I first started playing this game and doing some pulls I felt like a superstar, I mean wow I'm pulling all these super rares like it's nothing, even got all my counter girls maxed out and after about ~60 pulls I've managed 2 super super rares! Then I started to notice how all these "super rares" seem to have all hit max limit break and peeked at the Nikkepedia to realize the sad truth of this game. Given my past experiences with gacha I expected maybe something like 30% of the roster to be "SSR", not 95%. What's even more baffling is that the SSR actually does have it's own subcategory of "hey, these are actually the super rare ones" with Pilgrims having a miniscule chance to pull. I didn't want to put a list inside my list ( yo dawg, heard you like lists) but there's a few reasons why I really dislike this, and it was getting more and more "massive block of text" while I typed it so sorry.
-The first and probably most readily apparent issue being that it means you're unlocking new characters at a snails pace. It feels like the intended way to unlock new characters is to throw thousands of gems/ recruit rosters at the slot machine so you can do the high quality mold to actually have a chance (more on this later) to get a new character. I realize luck is a subjective matter, and yeah I've seen posts from people bragging about pulling 4-5 SSR in a pull, but objectively speaking the other gacha games were far more generous with the unlocking of new characters.
-Secondly, and probably what I hate the most, is that these "SSR" are simply not created equally (putting aside the obvious and aforementioned "actual SSR" of the pilgrims). I'm not saying every Nikke has to be an absolute powerhouse (more on this later) but if you want to make Nikkes that are just inferior versions of other Nikkes or have kits that just straight up aren't good, I dunno chief...maybe put them in a lower tier of the roster? Hell putting aside the meta/ actually caring about the kits of your waifus let's just talk about the lore/ backstory of these characters. Matis (my favorite squad, big hearts and kisses especially for Drake), the super star hero squad and best the Missilis company has to offer? Okay sure, makes sense they're SRR. Prima Donna Nikkes that...work in the music industry for some reason? Uh okay not sure why these military bots are making music but they're famous ig so why not, SSR it is. Oh hey Absolute, Rapi's former squad and supposed elite of Elysion now that's a contender for SSR for sure. Maid for you, Nikkes that run a maid cafe...well let's make em SSR. Okay okay I shouldn't hawk on the waifu game having waifus that are character archetypes even if it makes absolutely no sense in the setting of the game but you still get the point right? You have characters that are presented to you as the cream of the crop (in other words have lore friendly reasons to be classified as SSR) thrown into the same category of rarity of characters that work in maid cafes or other random civilian jobs/ hobbies. This all putting aside the actual strength of these character's kits (Matis is pretty good at least, big hearts and kisses) I'm simply referring to the story reasons for characters to be presented as "SSR".
-Thirdly this all just reeks of some system you see in a lot of games where they use certain words to artificially make you feel more accomplished, if that makes any sense. The lowest tier (of absolute garbage) is referred to as "rare", the slightly better but ultimately still useless (<3 u Rapi/ Anne) tier is "super rare", and the bulk of the roster is "super super rare." Fellas, that's not how the word "rare" works at all. I feel like most games at least refer to their filler trash as "common" or the like so why does the game call the, in lore, mass produced no personality foot soldier Nikkes "rare"? This leads back to "SSR" having it's own category of rarity, did they realize "SSSR" would look and sound stupid so that's why Pilgrims don't have their own category? I dunno, could have called it "ultra super dooper cream your pants because you're a real winner rare" or they could have just (alongside making some of the "unworthies" a lower tier) gone with 4 tiers with a more honest and conventional naming system (common- uncommon-rare-epic) but they didn't because that doesn't trigger the dopamine in slack jawed gamer so they like you more and spend more money or whatever reason so many games use terminology that feels like patting you on the back. Almost lost my cool there, sounding a lil schizo huh? Let's move on to the other main point to save face.

1. The way progression is handled (and how that ties to the roster) "When you come to it and you can't go through it and you can't knock it down, you know that you've found the wall, the wall, the wall." -Mark Henry (still kicking, I think). Gacha games, or really most games, have parts that are for the cream of the crop. The real go getters (or go spenders) who invest a lot of time (or money) into the game and are rewarded for it. Usually these are things like raids or other limited time events, typically speaking though it's not the main story of the game that's the major hurdle for the playerbase to surmount. Typically speaking there's a slow and steady incline of requirements for players to progress through the story of a game, be it skill (let's be honest, not really a factor for gacha games) or equipment/loot, but not here. Instead you have rapidly increasing arbitrary "recommended power levels" (yes, we'll talk about this later) coupled with a massive middle finger in the form of level limit/ limit breaking in a nice package of pain and inconvenience, because I hate you for enjoying and caring about the story we wrote (which the game will proceed to spoil in events, which have a way lower bar of entry) or something idk. Jamie, pull up that list again.

-So pulling a SRR is "accomplishment" enough, pulling the same SRR 3 more times is whack crazy luck, doing that whole process 5 times is insultingly absurd (b-buh muh Kilo tho, because rip anybody who wasn't here for this event). Technically speaking there are systems in place to make this easier, but both of them are still hella rough. You can either use the wishlist feature (on the normal recruitment, and not for pilgrims) to cut out the massive bloat of SRR you don't care about and still pray on that 4% chance or you can grind out 200 total recruits to get mileage tickets to knock out one of 20 pulls you'll need in order to get pass this wall. You've already seen posts either lamenting their luck or singing praises to lord because after months people have managed this, and imo that is not a good system of progression for the main story of your game. I don't have a problem with there being content that encourages you to spend money, for heavens sake they have a "hard campaign" (which is just the same lay out of campaign maps with massively spiked up requirements with the same exact rewards as the normal story, minus the actual story part) so why not just let people enjoy the normal campaign. It comes off as a really cheap and scummy way to encourage people to spend money, holding the story of your game hostage. Just lower the requirements of the normal campaign, I'm sure older players don't have the "naw these new players need to suffer like I suffered" mentality, nobody is going to be mad at you.
-Oh yeah, recommended power levels. A lot of games have the system of "increase your number to keep up with the enemies increasing number" but none of those feels like a slap in the face as this game's system of "you'll either meet this required number or we'll just nerf your damage to the ground" (evidently the exact percentage of this used to be a lot worse before they patched it, further proof that the playerbase isn't against the game being made more accessible). This is probably the part where the Nikke superfan tells me I just have a massive skill issue and it's totally possible to clear these missions at a deficit, and this is absolutely true. I've seem some superstars talking about clearing levels while under 20k or more the recommended amount (I've only managed 10k, all thanks to Crown whom I love and cherish) and you know what the secret to success is? I just hinted at it in those parenthesis but it comes down to pulling "the right" SSR Nikkes. Okay that's a little disingenuous , as there's a little bit of skill/ understanding of the games system involved and grinding out the various resources you need to level said actually good SSR Nikkes, but it doesn't change the fact that there are Nikkes you actually want if you care about progressing through the game and there's all the ones you don't that seemingly only exist to reduce your chances of pulling these Nikkes. Let's backtrack to that "wishlist" system for a bit, which is what is intended to make sure you get the (non pilgrim) Nikkes you want like Liter or Tia. You'll recall that the wishlist doesn't increase your total chance to pull a SRR (makes sense) but just ensures that you only pull the designated SSR, but the problem is this only applies to this normal pulling. It is still my opinion that most of the SSR you're gonna get are going to come from the various molds, which cleverly has no such system of wishliting (because let's be honest, this would probably destroy any incentive to pay money for people who don't care about costumes). So you're either dealing with a system of most likely not getting any SSR from normal pulling or having a slim chance of pulling the SSR you need (assuming you even pull a SSR to begin with) with the mold, neither of which sound too appealing to me
-Speaking of molds, and this probably going to be my most controversial take (or at the least the most demanding), it is blatantly unfair that high quality and company molds aren't a guaranteed SSR. In the case of of the high quality mold the process of getting one is slow enough (I maybe manage 1 a week, outside of events or CD redemption that may give more) and there are enough SSR (putting aside the fact that you want to pull the same SSR multiple times anyway) that I really don't think it would be that bad if you just don't let us get kicked in the gut by pulling Neon after all that effort. In the case of the company specific molds from the tribe towers you are quite literally hard limited to pulling 3-7 a day (assuming of course you have a squad capable of tackling the tower), and you're going to make them have an even lower total chance of a SSR than the normal high quality mold. I'm only half way to my pilgrim mold (I had to wait till crown before I even felt like starting the tower, because even doing the easiest levels is mind numbing with just one Nikke) but I've heard horror stories of going 5 pilgrim molds with no pilgrim in sight, and ngl I may just weep when it's my turn to experience that. If you want to further reduce the acquisition of molds to still encourage some spending that's fine by me, but please let us have some safety net in this ruthless Nikke grind.
That's pretty much it for the rant so I just want to finish with some closing thoughts. I really do like this game, honest, and I wouldn't mind supporting it if it just didn't make me feel so used and abused. There are plenty of games with microtransactions or additional content where it feels like you're buying them because you want to support the dev, not because it feels like they're holding a gun to your head, and I just want this game to feel more like the former. I'm happy to discuss this rant further if anybody has their own ideas and opinions (or even if people just want to defend the game) so let me know what yall think, assuming you even read that blob of text up there.

Long time lurker, first time poster.
Sorry this may be a long one. First a little backstory. Names and locations will be changed to maintain anonymity.
I (35F) grew up in a blended family. My parents got divorced when I was 10 and my dad remarried when I was 11. In addition to my younger sister (33F) from his previous marriage to my mom, I gained a step brother (27 M) and later a half brother, Ben(22 M). My sister and I spent every other weekend and summers at his house and the four siblings grew really close. We’re all each other’s best friends. I get a long okay with my step mom (let’s call her Anna). As we got older my dad became less involved and sometimes distant and basically let her raise the boys how she saw fit. With a lack of rules at home and few opportunities to make mistakes to learn and grow into adults. They are in their 20s but they are very infantilized. The younger one is not even allowed to change his hairstyle without permission or go on out of state trips by himself. It’s really weird but I moved abroad a decade ago and everyone back home just allows it.
Now on to the story at hand:
I live in an Asian country and a few years ago I met the love of my life and after meeting my family back home decided to get married. We had planned on doing just a courthouse thing because we were both not very big on something traditional, but we got swept up in the excitement knowing that my Dad and Sister would come if we decided to do a proper wedding.
In this country, wedding planning tends to go pretty fast as everything is usually done by one company. We gave our out of town friends and family a heads up in February that we’d have a ceremony in the fall and that we will set headcount no later than late Spring.
My step mom anointed herself the wedding planner as she’s passionate about it. She also cannot make the trip due to a disability which makes it hard for her to get around. It was getting close to crunch time for the headcount planning so I contacted her asking “hey I haven’t heard from the boys and I can follow up with them too, but do you know if any are planning on coming?” She then answers “no because the baby doesn’t know his school schedule and the older one can’t afford it”.
I was hoping to at least have one join as I assumed one would want to stay behind to stay with Anna but I was a little sad that neither of them contacted me to let me know directly. I told my sister who connected with them and told them to get in touch. The youngest was shocked to hear that he wasn’t going as he was under the impression that he was going and he had even picked up extra shifts at work to save extra money. My step brother confirmed it was a money issue which was totally fine and I thanked him for letting me know. I’m now excited that one of my brothers will also be joining.
Fast forward to Mother’s Day and Anna tells no Ben is not going. My Dad asserts that “he doesn’t know how to clean his room so why should he go?”
Once I hear about this conversation I’m irritated as I keep getting conflicting answers and I need to set my headcount. I Message my dad to get an update and he affirms “no Ben is not going because he ran up our car insurance up so his extra money will go towards that and he has to stay home with Anna”. I call up my dad to try to figure things out as the story keeps changing. I mention that I’m totally okay if the boys can’t come especially if it comes down to money, but the communication around everything has been really frustrating. He then proceeds to gaslight me asking:
“I don’t know why you care some much about whether or not your brothers come to your wedding”
“You’re doing too much. You should have just done the courthouse and call it a day”
And making me out to be a bridezilla.
The call got a little heated but we neither of us got rude or nasty. I finally ended the call with “I got the boys aren’t coming. That’s fine. Once I get confirmation on the accommodations I’ll let you know. Love you and have a good night” we hang up and I go to bed after venting about the whole situation with my sister.
I wake up the next morning to find a short message from my dad saying he’s not going anymore and to have a nice wedding. He’ll give his spot to Ben.
I am shocked. Not only did he drop himself from the wedding but over a misunderstanding on his part. I never guilted anyone about not including my brothers and did not beg or anything. I literally just commented on how frustrated I was with their communication but he aggressively wants to misunderstand for some reason.
I wrote back explaining my position and mentioning my disappointment in his decision but let him know the door is open if he changes his mind. I tried to message Anna but she’s been ignoring messages. From what I heard from my sister she is team dad and busy trying to vilify me.
The next day my dad basically admitted that the reason why none of the brothers are not going is because of my step mom. (Which I was suspicious of). He didn’t apologize but basically doubled down on saying I care too much. He also added he would be at my wedding after all.
The whole interaction has left the worst taste in my mouth:

1. My parents tried to make me look like the bad guy just for trying to clarify head count.
   
2. My dad tried to punish me by threatening not to come.
   
3. My dad finally admitted that it’s Anna who is blocking her sons from going but instead of sticking up for me he lets her get away with it to “keep the peace”
   
4. He never apologized for any of it.
   

It’s turned me off towards wedding planning especially as I wasn’t even that keen of having a wedding to start with. So, would I be the asshole if I uninvited him?

I’ve had a few people ask me how to play, and this is intended as a basics guide and some of my personal thoughts on the subject. Anybody who wants can butt in with their experiences as well, but I wanted to get this up so I don’t lose it.
Let’s start with the very basics. Each game you select a total of 4 patrons which inform what card suites are available to you and your opponent. Finding the right decks for you is essential to your success. Not every deck clicks the same for everyone.
Know every deck. This comes with practice, but by knowing the decks you know the probable strategies your opponent wishes to employ. If he picks Hermaeus Mora, he’s going fast. If he picks Raj he’s going to make you suffer etc
Don’t clutter your deck. Pick only what you need. If you’re stumped, just upgrade a coin to a 2 coin at the bank. You could have amazing cards, but if you only get to play them once every 5 hands, you’re probably not going anywhere. You want a fast deck cycle time. That’s how often you can expect to play your whole deck. As an example your starting deck has a cycle time of 2 turns.
When possible try to stick to only building a deck of 1 or 2 colors. These cards have synergies with their suite so the more you stack your deck with a given suite, the more likely your cards will “do the cool thing”.
Gold allows you to buy cards. You can also spend it at a couple different patrons.
Power allows you to kill opposing agents, and at the end of the turn is converted into prestige.
Prestige is the “Win” condition. Less complicated than the others.
Crow (Purple) is the best all around deck. If he’s in the shop, buy purple. You do NOT want your opponent to build a deck of him. That’s gold, power, AND draw. Nasty stuff. If you’re a true beginner, focus on Crow and hope for the best. My advice? Don’t use his patron ability unless you’ve got a FAT pile of gold (at least 10+). Prevents you locking yourself out of the ability. Pairs well with gold generating decks like Hlaalu or Rhajiin.
Pelin (Red) is straightforward power gain with some minor attention to defensive agents. A good deck, and pairs very well with patrons who SPEND power such as Red Eagle (Black) and Mora (Dark Green).
Hlaalu (Gold) is the ultimate gold generator. Focus is on gaining high value cards or simply massive gold piles (excellent strat to pair with Crow patron). The real trick with this patron is to continually pare down junk cards after play so you can keep your cycle time low. Otherwise it’s a noob trap that bloats the deck.
Psijiic (Blue) focus is on deck manipulation by SKIPPING your junk cards. Decent gold gain. Patron is a decent emergency anti agent button. Not my favorite but that’s just because his players tend to take forever haha
Ansei (Light Green) is focused on choice and versatility. Most of his cards let you choose the effect, tailoring to your need. Can also recycle old cards back to top of draw. Not my favorite. I prefer more pointed win conditions.
Red Eagle (Black) is another power deck, but also focused on shrinking your deck. I like to pair him with chain heavy decks like Crow or Mora because his patron helps you push out just one more when you’re on the edge of a monster turn.
Orgnum (Light Blue) is focused first and foremost on prestige gain directly. Almost always turns into a match of “who can click the patron the most” because you can’t afford to let your opponent spam it. I pair it with Hlaalu because it has some cards that can give you cards for free. You can spend gold at the patron and use the free card for more merchant cards. Not a favorite deck.
Almalexia (Dark Blue) is about controlling the opponents cards and tossing your own cards for synergies. Complex but versatile. Good but not a favorite.
Druid (Super Light Green) is all about agent spam. I hate him lol. Can also control the shop by spending power.
Rhajiin (Orange) is focused on gold gain, but MOSTLY trolling. Excellent at killing agents, reducing prestige, cluttering decks, and generally slowing down your opponent. It’s a good deck but if both players are good at him it makes games take ages.
Hermaeus Mora (Dark Green) is my favorite. He focuses on accelerationism. He does a lot. He can prune your deck, generate gold and especially power (at ludicrous rates). The catch is that each card you play helps your opponent. This means you have to COMMIT to a Hermy deck or you’re just handing free resources to your opponent. Patron ability can spend a little power to hand a card to both players (can be great to use tactically such as if it’s a card that helps you but hurts them. Or if you’re fighting over crow cards and you’re out of gold… sometimes it’s better to make sure you both get it rather than only them). Leads to fast games.

Throwaway account for privacy, I don’t think that anyone I know is on reddit but still I don’t want this post on my main. I’m (38f) married to (45m) we have 3 kids in between us . We were both married before except that I was a widow and he was divorced. I was 21 when i married my first husband and around 22 when i had my daughter . My first husband died in a car accident that we both sustained and I was left with extended recovery and back surgeries that took place over the course of 4 years after the accident . Our daughter was few months old when she lost her father. And for my husband he was divorced when the kids were young, my husband is an art professor and a sculptor. I met him when he was an expat in my country contracted for a big art project, he had been in the country with his kids for a year when I met him.
I will have to skip a lot of details about our life together to avoid making this post too long to read. Anyway we got married nine years ago . We have always been a happy family . We have always treated You all the kids equally up until now .
For some background regarding my own family . I have two older siblings and I’m very close to the oldest . The oldest has been always more of a father figure to me than an older sibling. When our father passed away he divided inheritance in form of company shares that he took the responsibility to run , properties and cash. Despite my middle brother and me being adults , we have always depended on our oldest brother to run everything for us as he is the head of our family . We have the family accountant that handle our affairs and no expense has ever been questioned including all the expenses related to my stepchildren. My brother is a very kind hearted man but he believes blood ties are above any other tie. He made sure that the kids in our family understand the importance of putting family above anything and anyone else that the kids grew up to be like a mini clan in terms of their loyalty to each other. my brother discussed with me before that our family sponsorship commitment to my stepchildren ends with them graduating university.
Fast forward to when our predicament started. My oldest stepchild was video calling his grandmother about summer plans and expressing how excited he was for almost turning 17 and how he plans to ask for his “ turning 17 property” to be in their home country where he already started applying for universities and how this will help him a lot to be settled after he graduates . The turning 17 property is a tradition that was started by my father when we were around the same age , he would sit down with us discussing where we want to go to university and why and he would gift us a property in the city where we went to study . My father pushed us to study abroad to find independence away from family care. My brother carried out the same tradition with his kids and my nephews , he even had the same conversation with my daughter although she is still 16 but he has always given my daughter special treatment since she was orphaned as a baby.
I discussed with my husband our son’s expectation of receiving inheritance, and although my husband thinks that this is an unreasonable expectation he still feels very hurt that this whole issue will create discrepancies in our family that has never been there. I explained that getting the same latest gadgets, trips and life style is something different than getting an inheritance. My husband responded that if he had the means he would get the properties for his kids and still claim it was gifted from my side of the family to avoid his kids feeling like they didn’t belong to my side of the family after all these years. im a 29M and on 4.4.2024 i tore my meniscus skiing in canada on vacation. I almost immediately couldnt bear weight on it and got crutches the next day (off doordash lol). Since im insured in Germany, knew i needed an MRI, and still had about 10 days till my flight back I decided to ride out the rest of my vacation disabled. (makes the airport incredibly pleasant). Some maybe important context is, 8 years ago i tore my acl with a grade 2 tear. I chose not to go for the surgery because i wanted to avoid the trauma, and did PT + PRP shot. Luckily my ACL had completely healed.
As soon as i arrived in Germany i got my MRI and confirmed it was a medial meniscus bucket handle tear. 7 days later i had my partial meniscectomy where the doc removed about 20% of my meniscus. The surgeon told me he does about 300 operations per year and arthroscopy to me seemed WAY less barbaric in comparison to an ACL surgery hence why I had a cooler head going into it. The consistent pain my leg was causing, i couldn't see a way around it. he said there is an option to do either repair or removal but he cannot say until hes inside me (lol) if a repair would make sense, because it heavily depends on if the tear is in an area where blood can flow.
Day 1 - they stuck this fluid bag in my leg that was so incredibly uncomfortable that i had to down myself in ibuprofen. Im a little freaked out by pain meds so this was the only day i took them. this was by far the worst thing about this experience but in the end it was probably better than having my leg blow up from swelling. The nurse yanking the tube out of my leg the next day however, haunts me to this day.
Day 2-3 - between pain from the scars, weakness of muscles, and general trauma of hurting my delicate leg i toyed with putting pressure on my leg with crutches while hobbling around at home. I was instructed that i really should start working my leg back into normalcy ASAP because it is part of the general healing process for a meniscectomy. I was also icing 2-3 times a day to bring down the swelling.
days 3-9 - with an ace bandage on, i started some mild PT at home. heel slides and leg raises mostly, to start building up my atrophied muscles. around day 5 or 6 i abandoned my crutches entirely, which felt empowering. I live on the first (second in US) floor and stairs were a bit of an obstacle as i had to strategically place one leg at a time and keep my balance. small activities would still wear me out so i limited myself to my small exercises, going to the kitchen, playing MTG Arena and on TTS, and rewatching scrubs. still icing 1-2 times a day.
days 10-17 - got my stitches out, had my first shower since the surgery(!!!), started PT and was given a few exercises and a thera-band to do at home, which i did religiously daily. started talking a bit longer adventures walking for a coffee etc. still having a bit of a limp and my calf and ankle would get hella sore after a long stretch of walking. i also always wear my stabilising knee band when i go out. but still a noticeable amount of progress and freedom. icing maybe once a day.
days 18-22 (now) - im feeling a lot more confident in my ability and stamina to walk. stairs are starting to feel almost completely natural and am working it out in PT. I rode my bike and drove my car out of the city to catch the northern lights. im really focusing on bringing up my surrounding muscles to support my knee and i can see the progress in how much i can straighten my leg. The area where the arthrocopes went in (specifically the medial side) still has a noticeable bump, and im told that scar tissue is whats causing the occasional pain in joints when i straighten my leg. but each day the gets less and less. I really do feel like I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. my leg looks basically normal in size and im still wearing my knee band when i go out. I still cant think about jumping or running but with time im positive it will get there.
There is hope, just be patient and don't let negative thoughts get to you. happy to answer anything i can.

I've never been much of a TV shows person because I struggle to commit to 4+ seasons (wouldn't mind just a couple seasons) of hour long episodes.
But I enjoyed watching a couple seasons of American Horror Story (coven and asylum) and liked that they were short, fast-paced, and you had a conclusive story by the end of 10-13 episodes. I also watched quite a bit of Black Mirror for the same reasons. I did try watching The Watcher but dropped it after the first episode because I couldn't stand watching characters making such obviously poor decisions that would undoubtedly come back later to bite them.
I also watched most of season 1 of You (didn't finish because it stressed me out too much and I had to focus on exams lol). I liked it, but I preferred AHS and Black Mirror because of their unique settings.
For books, movies, and documentaries, I love sci-fi, thriller, and crime. Most recently, Nightcrawler comes to mind as a film I really loved watching. I also don't mind horror, but I'd prefer if a storyline was the main focus of the show. I watched Smile and The Conjuring with some friends, but felt pretty indifferent towards both. It felt too much like the movies were trying to scare me with visuals.
I legitimately have seen nothing else and have zero knowledge on TV shows, so I would appreciate any recommendations for short thriller series!
