2024.05.15 16:10 First_Flatworm1750 Odoo - FreePBX tutorial

A quick tutorial for everyone struggling! Odoo VoIP - FreePBX link
What it does: The Odoo VoIP softphone seamlessly integrates with Odoo CRM, allowing users to make and receive calls directly from the Odoo interface. Odoo recommends configuring your VoIP with AxiVox.
If you prefer not to use AxiVox due to high costs or poor configurability, you can link Odoo with Asterisk. FreePBX is a relatively easy-to-learn GUI for Asterisk, allowing you to build and manage your own phone systems. For setting up FreePBX, I recommend these tutorials: CrossTalk Solutions - FreePBX 101 - Youtube
To link the Odoo Softphone to FreePBX, you must first successfully set up an extension, inbound and outbound routes, and a trunk. You must also whitelist the IP address of your desktop or network and the IP address of your Odoo server in the firewall. It also requires adjusting an 'Advanced Setting' in the GUI.
How to link:
FreePBX Settings:
  1. Go to your FreePBX Admin GUI.
  2. Go to Settings -> Advanced Settings.
  3. Find the setting SIP Channel Driver and change it from 'both' to 'chan_pjsip'.
  4. Odoo VoIP tries to make a 'chan_sip' connection by default. This is no longer used and can be disabled with this setting. If this is no longer possible, Odoo will make a pjsip connection, which is desired.
  5. Click 'Submit' and 'Apply config'.
  6. Don’t forget to whitelist the IP addresses.
Install the Odoo VoIP module:
  1. Go to your Odoo database main menu and navigate to Apps.
  2. Search for the VoIP module and install it.
Configure the VoIP server settings:
  1. Go to Settings > VoIP.
  2. Add your FreePBX server settings:
    • PBX Server IP: 0.0.0.0 (The IP of your FreePBX server)
    • WebSocket: wss://pbx.yourfqdn.com:8089/ws (replace pbx.yourfqdn.com with the FQDN of your FreePBX server)
    • VoIP Environment: Production
Configure the VoIP User settings:
  1. Go to Settings > Users & Companies -> Users and select the appropriate User.
  2. Go to Preferences -> VoIP.
  3. Add your FreePBX User settings:
    • VoIP Username: The extension number found in the extension you want to link in FreePBX.
    • VoIP Secret: The secret found in the extension you want to link in FreePBX.
Use the Odoo softphone:
  1. Go to the CRM module and open a contact or lead.
  2. Click on the phone icon next to the phone number to make a call via the integrated softphone.

2024.05.15 15:57 junjunjey All the information you need about the future story set 80 years after Mushoku Tensei. Rifujin-sensei's posts and tweets from 2013-2022 (with links)

It's legit. It's not "just a fan-theory".
From as far back as 2013 and as recent as 2022 the author has talked about it. I speed-ran through all of the author's Narou Blog Posts, used the advanced search feature on X, and noted down the links containing useful information that I found. I hope you find this informative.

1. THE AUTHOR REFERS TO IT MOSTLY IN THREE DIFFERENT WAYS

In this tweet from 2022, he talked about the title of this future story itself being still undecided. Here he casually termed it as "the story of 80 years since Mushoku Tensei", he also called it "the last story in Six-Faced World", but the most often way the author referred to it—and the way the Japanese fanbase mostly called%22%20%E7%84%A1%E8%81%B7&src=typed_query&f=top) it—is "the main story (temporary title)" [本編(仮)] or just "the main story".

2. DESPITE BEING CALLED THE MAIN STORY, MUSHOKU TENSEI IS NOT "THE PREQUEL" OF "A MAIN STORY", AND THE SO-CALLED MAIN STORY IS NOT "THE SEQUEL" OF MUSHOKU TENSEI

This reddit post has excellently talked about Mushoku Tensei being the main story of its own. Even the author himself has tweeted, "The main story of Mushoku Tensei is Mushoku Tensei."
Rifujin-sensei has an aversion of calling it a sequel. Here he elaborated that the story will not be a sequel of Mushoku Tensei. In this tweet he talked about the story not being a continuation of Rudeus' story, although certain characters from Mushoku Tensei will appear since they're directly related to Hitogami's defeat but he insisted it's not the continuation of it. Here he even said he will not write a Mushoku Tensei's sequel.
A fan here compared it to how Fate isn't the sequel of Tsukihime despite being in the same universe, and the author concurred . It's just like how Old Dragon's Tale, Kingdragon King's Subjugation, and Mushoku Tensei are all set in the same universe but aren't prequel/sequel of each other.

3. CHARACTERS FROM MUSHOKU TENSEI THAT WILL APPEAR IN "THE MAIN STORY (TEMPORARY TITLE)"

I think we can infer about which characters would most likely appear based on the chapter The Final Dream in Mushoku Tensei's final volume (since they're directly related to Hitogami's defeat as the author said). However, he kept it vague about how important they would be to the plot itself.
Here he confirmed that Lara Greyrat will appear, but he doesn't even know the story yet since he hasn't began writing it.
In this blog post from 2015, he talked about how he thought Luicellia might appear again in the story set 80 years into the future. He said as a character she was already created even before Norn and Ruijerd. She was described as a beautiful demon girl who is taciturn and straightforward, quick to kill her opponents, but also hardworking, earnest, and single-minded. Considering it's still a concept, her character traits might change (not to mention the traits themselves included being the last Superd).
How about Nanahoshi then? Is she perhaps the main character of the last story?

4. NANAHOSHI SHIZUKA IS NOT THE PROTAGONIST OF "THE MAIN STORY (TEMPORARY TITLE)"

I know certain section of fanbase are believers of this theory, but the author has debunked that idea in this blog post from as far back as May 2013. Someone said they heard it from somewhere that Nanahoshi will be the protagonist of "the main story", and Rifujin-sensei answered that it's a hoax—Nanahoshi is not the protagonist.
What about the Akihito guy then? Good-looking sporty teenage, a summoned hero, managed to charm the unique Blessed Child in his short isekai life the first time, and will possibly have his own harem considering he's perhaps also Nanahoshi's love interest. The planned story of him literally screams "I'm the main character of power trip shonen fantasy", but is he? Well...

5. SHINOHARA AKIHITO IS NOT THE PROTAGONIST OF "THE MAIN STORY (TEMPORARY TITLE)"

You read that right. I don't know if a lot of you believe he is, because I most definitely did. I even (guiltily) spread misinformation that I believe he's the protagonist because I genuinely thought he was.
Then... I discovered this blog post.
Someone asked Rifujin-sensei in early 2015, "Could it be that 'Shinohara Akihito' is actually the main protagonist of Mushoku Tensei? I thought Rudeus was the protagonist who changes the future, but if it turns out that Shinohara Akihito is the true protagonist and Rudeus is merely a pawn, then I feel really sorry for Rudeus." To which, the author replied, "The protagonist of the main story (temporary title) is a different person."
The author added that he also had a story concept where Akihito is the protagonist, but he felt that the story ultimately wouldn't differ much from Rudeus' own so he scrapped it.
Now for the million dollar questionL who is the protagonist? Probably an entirely new guy, but I have a theory.
Kuroki Seiji couldn't get over what happened to him ten years ago. On that fateful day, he would have been died if not for a savior pushing him out of the road when a Truck that lost control almost hit him. His savior was tragically died in his stead, but the stranger thing was the fact that his friends, Shinohara Akihito and Nanahoshi Shizuka, vanished out of thin air. That experience led to him being approached by a secretive magical society he didn't know exist wanting to hear about the "unnatural situation". Ten years later having joined the society and gained various magical knowledge, he stared down at the magic circle he drew after countless research, believing it would deliver him to wherever his best friends have been disappearing to. Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, he activated the magic circle.
Alright, sorry please ignore my baseless fanfiction idea.
What I know is that in The Final Dream, there are two "Asian-looking" guys among the party that defeated Hitogami. There is a teenage guy who looked to be good at sport, and there is an older guy in his twenties or thirty who noticed Rudeus first and bowed to him. Is the teenage guy Akihito? Probably, but who is the older guy? Is he perhaps the protagonist? Maybe my fanfiction idea isn't so baseless after all (I'm joking).

6. WHEN WILL THE AUTHOR WRITE "THE MAIN STORY (TEMPORARY TITLE)"?

It's not like it's definitive that he will definitely write it, but lucky for us at least he confirms the plan to write it is genuine, he just needs to prioritize other things first.
Like in this blog post from 2021, he give a blueprint of his main priorities for the foreseeable future.
  1. Work hard on anime-related projects.
  2. Also work hard on publishing books since they need to be released around the same time.
  3. Progress the Orc story bit by bit in between.
  4. Once 1 and 2 are settled, continue the Orc story to its conclusion.
  5. Heal my shoulders, neck, and eyes.
  6. Write the final story of the Six-Faced World.
However, there could be a change of plan in between. Back in 2016, his preference was said to write "the main story" last, and there are also multiple other posts where he said there are more Mushoku Tensei-related stories he also planned to write.
For instance, in an April 2015 blog post this is the list of the stories he planned to tell each as a standalone:
Both the Ancient God one and the Mysteries of Hitogami x Dragon Tribe have since been told in Old Dragon's Tale. In this one post there seems to be a planned 11 chaps story outline about Kishirika with Badigadi but was probably scrapped, however a Badigadi's POV from that era has been told as extra chapter in LN Vol. 23. As for the Akihito x Seiji one, I don't know why the author wants to write specifically about the duo. Akihito is understandable since he will definitely be a in the story, but Seiji is supposedly the unimportant one left behind. Hmm, maybe my fanfic—Sorry!
In different posts he talked about wanting to write the reason why Hitogami became so rotten, or about the rewrite version of the notorious Aisha x Arus arc (the relationship is canon, sorry denials), or about Orsted's POV in his previous loops.
Back to the point.
I can only trace the mention of this future story as far back as May 2013 (the Nanahoshi answer one), but it's obvious he already talked about it even before that (considering that post shows someone was already informed about this "main story"). Maybe he first mentioned it in a domestic socmed he used before migrating to Twitter, or there's information from older posts that I missed.
Rifujin-sensei tweeted this as recently as September 2022, here he confirmed he still sticks to his plan of writing "the story about 80 years after Mushoku Tensei" when the Mushoku Tensei anime and Orc's Hero Story both conclude, with rough time estimation being between 2025-2030.

Finger crossed, let's look forward to this in a few years.

2024.05.15 15:45 escapeshark Why is bang chan oppa so hard to talk to?

Why is Bang Bang Chicken Christopher oppa so hard to talk to? I'm polite. Each time I approach, I say "g'day mate". I always ask him what his favourite flavour of Tim tams is before talking about his abs. He's usually really shy (which is cute imo) but I hate that I have to be the one to constantly engage in conversations with him, and how he's usually gets disinterested because I'm a great white shark. Yes, I get that it's awkward because of things like shark attacks on humans at Sydney beaches, but I don't hold it against him. He wasn't there when people were making shark fin soup, so why judge him for it? Why can't he just realise that I respect Bang Chan culture and that I really wanna be a part of it? I'm willing to marry a Bang Chan and adopt a human baby and live in Parramatta for the rest of my life. Hell, I'm even learning Australian by watching Crocodile Dundee and Steve Irwin undubbed. Plus, I cook a mean vegemite toast (for those who don't know, Bang Chan eats a lot of vegemite toast, I do too my mom says I act like a Bang Chan because of all the vegemite I eat and how much I watch Neighbours and H2O just add water.)

2024.05.15 15:43 ewk Zen Culture: "Opposite of Christianity" confuses people

Treat me how I like

I had an interesting exchange yesterday, as I recall it went:
Them: You're the kind of person that doesn't listen to people they don't like.
Me: My attitude is I don't care what people think that only listen to who they like.
This is a huge tension between Neo-Christian new ager culture and Zen.
Neo-Christian means "like the vibe, but don't believe the hype"... so turn the other cheek, but because that's the kind of world they want to live in, not because Jesus says so. Neo-Christians like A Christmas Carol, because all the vibe, none of the hype.
But, as Zen Masters luuuuve to point out, everything comes at a price. And the price is ignorance. Sometimes the most unpleasant (to you) people are unpleasant because they see things you don't want to see, and say things you don't want to hear... and when truth is less important than nice, you lose truth.
Nice is different than good

Zen Masters show respect by NOT welcoming

This is a tough concept for neo-christians, who both want to evangelize the "let's love our neighbors" vibe, but also, want tolerance-the-other-cheek instead of confrontation. Which is fair... Christians have been in a ton of wars over not turning the other cheek. The old testament is a bunch of not turning.
But Zen isn't like that. And Zen had 1,000 years of successful socialist communes in China, so maybe their game play tests better?
Yunmen first called on Chan master Muzhou Daozong. The moment Muzhou saw Yunmen approach, he shut the door. Thereupon Yunmen knocked at the door, and Muzhou asked, "Who is it?"
Yunmen replied, "It's me!"
Muzhou asked, "What are you here for?"
Yunmen said, "I am not yet clear about myself. Please, Master, give me guidance!"
Muzhou opened the door, cast one glance, shut it again, and withdrew.
Again though, YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIKE IT. But you do have to respect Zen in the Zen forum. That's the Reddiquette. And by "respect Zen" I mean of course respect Zen the way Zen likes to be respected, not the way YOU like to respect whatever neo-christian stocking stuffer nonsense you are into.

.

Welcome! ewk comment: There is a bunch of cool stuff that happens when we treat Zen with "Zen respect", like these questions:
  1. Why is "Zen respect" closing the door in people's faces?
  2. What are the hidden costs of tolerance/welcoming/door-opening and why would Zen Masters reject those hidden costs?
  3. What do you gain by being a f@#$ing @#$$ @@#$#er?
Because if EVERYTHING has a cost/benefit, and everything does, what is the benefit to teachers who will give you a meal, a bed, and a job... BUT DO NOT WANT TO GIVE YOU A RELIGION?

If it were things like a flim-flam (or some paranoia-based lies) to find her way out of the imminent consequences of her misdeeds, staging a murder scene in Poporon/Noel's idol concert or pretending to be the victim of a killing spree which wasn't meant to be one (like for example: this wasn't intended to go round harming/hurting o& targetting innocent little kids & instead this turns out to be Yurine's dad going nuts after getting put/placed through various mishaps to got him set up for the whole thing & fool everyone around him into mistaking him for the perpetrator of the situation or falsified crime without most of them even realising that it's the father of Yurine while chasing Jashin-chan).

The Centurion during the Great Crusade - Juno Guilliman's SO
The last one for today. I certainly want to do one for the Heresy years, a bit into the aftermath before she goes into stasis with Guilliman, a mid part on the 10.000 years between their reawakening on how she is remembered and one for her relations with the other SOs (I'll need a hell of a lot of help on that one), the Emperor and my boy Malc.
As before, the art is Centurii-Chan's and the word soup are my own thoughts.

2024.05.15 10:48 DrawerLoose722 Review: She Who Became the Sun – Shelley Parker-Chan (The Radiant Emperor #1)

Asian Fantasy ✓ Female Main Character ✓ Heart-Wrenching ✓ Historical Setting ✓ LGBTIQ+ ✓ Thought-Provoking ✓ Villain Arc ✓
“Inside her there was only the perfect, blank brightness of belief and desire. Desire is the cause of all suffering. The greater the desire, the greater the suffering, and now she desired greatness itself. With all her will, she directed the thought to Heaven and the watching statues: Whatever suffering it takes, I can bear it.”
What is the Book about?
A village in the dusty plains, ravaged by famine. A seer reveals the futures of two children: the boy is destined for greatness, while the girl—nothing.
In the year 1345, China is under the brutal rule of the Mongols. Raiders sweep through the land, preying on poor farmers. They come to the children’s village, leaving them orphans. While Zhu Chongba succumbs to despair, the girl makes a resolute decision to change her fate. She assumes her dead brother’s identity. Can Zhu escape what is written in the stars? Or can she claim her brother’s destiny for herself—and ultimately rise as high as she dares to dream?

My thoughts while reading it
In reimagining 14th century China through a fresh historical lens, we are presented with an evocative tale of destiny, identity, and an unyielding will to survive. Based on a true story but with a unique twist, this narrative feels both singular and authentic, as though its extraordinary events could indeed have transpired.
Initially, I anticipated a younger reading experience, given the rise of Asian YA novels at the time of its release. However, this book took me by surprise, exuding a raw and real essence that is mature and dark. Don’t let preconceptions influence you as they did me; if you are a fan of the Dandelion Dynasty series, you should definitely give this book a chance. “She Who Became the Sun” is a story of ascension to great power, highly political and driven by war. It offers a historical novel that is intensely military without veering into pure military fantasy, deftly intertwining deep explorations of gender and identity. The revelation that Zhu is actually a woman in an era when women had no voice adds a thrilling twist to the narrative. The book handles gender themes subtly and cleverly, avoiding heavy-handedness. There are no preachy dialogues about what it means to be a man or a woman; instead, the story itself immerses you in these experiences, making them feel natural and unforced. It delves into the nuances of identity and the disruption of one’s sense of self through various life events.
Shelley Parker-Chan masterfully creates an immersive atmosphere, transporting the reader directly into 14th century China. Although my knowledge of Chinese history is limited, the story felt so genuine that I wished Zhu’s tale of a woman disguised as a man had truly happened. The narrative’s often unemotional tone enhances its historical authenticity. The vivid descriptions of the setting, the intricate development of characters, and the seamless blend of historical facts with fictional elements make this novel an unforgettable reading experience. I particularly appreciated the beginning, which portrays the impact of war on common people who struggle to survive, sometimes even forgetting their own families. Additionally, Zhu’s time in the monastery is beautifully depicted, with Buddhism woven seamlessly into the story. However, it should be noted that this is primarily a historical fiction novel with minimal fantastic elements, which, when present, felt somewhat forced. I would have preferred a purely historical novel, as it would have suited the narrative better.
The characters, alongside the impressive atmosphere, are a highlight of the novel. Each character feels original and deeply developed, making them vivid and unique. The protagonist, Zhu, is a prime example of a complex personality, with inner struggles and external challenges that make her a fascinating character. Her determination and courage to defy the societal norms of her time make her an inspiring figure. And it’s fascinating to see that as a reader, you end up rooting for a character who may have initially seemed kind and selfless, yet you still like them in the end, even though they have become something entirely different from what they once were. Another remarkable character is the eunuch general Ouyang, whose tragic past and identity conflicts make him one of the most intriguing antagonists. Initially, he seemed one-dimensional to me, but he is a character who reveals his full potential over time. His interactions with Zhu are filled with tension and a complex dynamic that keeps the reader engrossed until the very end, leaving me eager to see how their relationship will unfold in the sequel. The supporting characters also add depth and realism to Parker-Chan’s world. Each one, from the monks in the monastery who take in Zhu to the soldiers and peasants in the background, has their own story and motivation, enriching the narrative. These characters all contribute to a multi-layered and realistic portrayal of the world.
Shelley Parker-Chan’s “She Who Became the Sun” is an impressive debut that will captivate lovers of historical fiction. It’s a book that demonstrates the power of human will and the quest for a self-determined life, showing how these can change the world. A must-read for anyone interested in ancient China and the strength of the human spirit! This book is definitely my absolute highlight of 2024 so far.
