Hi everybody. I know this subject has been posted before but just giving report of my experience thus far.
Using OnePlus 12R on Mint Mobile "unlimited" 40 Gb high speed/10 Gb hotspot plan.
My plan recently rolled into the new month, with a fresh 10 Gb of hotspot data. About a week in, I received a notification that I had used nearly all of my hotspot data. I thought that was odd. I've used my hotspot to connect an old iPhone before but didn't think it was that recently. My phone settings are to turn off hotspot if not connected to within 10 minutes. I contacted Mint support about it and seeing as this was prepaid, they can't really tell what's going on. I told them that I'll make certain that my hotspot remains off and if I still end up running through my hotspot I'll let them know. I had a sneaking suspicion that my VPN usage was somehow contributing. Couple days later, I have a bunch of stuff to order, and end up firing up the VPN (Proton VPN for the record). Before long I get notification that my hotspot data is all used up. So I'm pretty certain that's what's going on.. I'm unclear as to how a VPN tunnel would appear similar to another device tethered to my network connection though. Would that be the case for https traffic as well? DNScrypt? Curious to know also, if others have had better results with different VPN providers.

A couple years ago, I decided I was bored of gaming and social media - so I downloaded Duolingo and randomly picked French. The first year, it was mainly a time waster. I wasn't consistent nor did I take anything seriously. Now, after a year of consistent use - here's my "review" on using Duolingo for learning French.
Quick notes to fill in the story a bit more. Once I decided to study French as a serious topic - I found many things in French. I found articles, listened to music and podcasts, word searches and word finds, played games, read books, also had a couple conversations in French, and watched YouTube (Also, these WEREN'T designed for learners of the language - rather content created for native speakers. While it was frustrating - I do think it helped progress me quicker). I also was able to find someone who was willing to help me learn.
So, with all that said - here's what I have to say about Duolingo. I'm now on unit 5 - but it was a lot of skipping. Because of all my other sources I was using to study, I learned quite a lot just from exposure and so I'd take their leveling test every month or so. I used Duolingo on a daily basis and found it a solid platform for vocabulary. In the beginning - it was a great foundation. It explained the basic concepts quite well and was, for the most part, easy to follow. I didn't use any backup research except a couple times - and was understanding concepts for the majority of the time. After a couple months - things got more complex. While I continued to skip around in units {Skipped around units twice - that was it}, I found new concepts introduced that weren't well explained. They'd have a sentence and a couple examples to explain something that felt much more complex. Duolingo also missed quite a lot of regularly used vocabulary - or it was taught in later courses. Words like "sais" were common in reading or speaking French - but weren't covered in Duolingo until MUCH later (chapter 3 or 4 I think). There was also quite a few times where they'd place words that they never taught into a sentence and prioritized words you had gone over. This lead to a ton of confusion. More and more I'd find myself looking up words or relying on information found on other sites or other sources to back what they were trying to teach me up. A big problem, especially now with Duolingo, is being that they're using AI - and even before using AI - they use presets of words - and while this isn't much of the case on the desktop version - it doesn't help you remember words. I found myself sticking to several rules I saw like the idea there's always 4 words remaining after crafting a sentence correctly. There's also the added issue of the correction just being wrong at times. Or sometimes it would catch words I got in the wrong "placement". So the sentence was "Do you prefer curly or straight hair?" and I put "Do you prefer straight or curly hair" and it was marked as wrong. Technically my sentence was correct - but it was wrong because it didn't directly mirror the French translation.
Here's what I'll say to round off my statement.
There's no "one size fits all" program. I think Duolingo is incredible for the beginning. Especially if you're just wanting to play around in the language. I think Duolingo isn't great for explaining grammar or even sparking your mind to actively recall things. I think it's great for keeping a record of how long you've been at it - and how dedicated you are - but isn't something I'd say is the best thing for learning the language. I think it's best for someone to spend the beginning of their journey on Duolingo - but quickly (if you're taking it seriously) move to other sources. I think the biggest thing that has helped and in general makes sense to help others is to expose yourself to it. We didn't learn our mother tongue by reading text books and filling in "fill in the blanks" sheets. We learned it from observing and trying. I'm nowhere close to being able to form the perfect sentence nor can I always translate something perfectly - but I have made a ton of progress. It's only been possible as I've turned almost everything in my life to French. French learning doesn't have to be done with expensive apps and prepaid plans. Find ways to incorporate French into your life. What do you enjoy doing? What do you consume? Great, now find that all in French. Do you like to read? Read news articles in French (or books, but news articles are easier to find and more than often free). Do you like to do yoga? Find yoga videos in French to follow along with. Do you like word searches? Find it in French. There's so much more that you can do than an app or two. YouTube (and most apps in general) are great resources for content in French - or even changing the app's setting so said app is in French, Even your phone (under settings you can change your phone's language), books, podcasts, you could even change your browser's language. It's through being around the language that most of the time we learn it best.

This is all just coming from my point of view and my experience - my experience IS biased and IS flawed. Between switching chapters a couple times, having extra resources at play, and even having someone who explained it all is 100% Biased and flawed. This is just MY experience. I want to clarify that because I know some people with comment about how I might've missed something amongst switching chapters - which you're right. However, most things were introduced in an order and in said order they weren't always explained very well. Please keep that in mind. When looking at one's experience - their background and such can play a huge role in what they're saying.

The final thing is we can't use it in the alternate hand." Eyashi is still holding the Raika but he diffuses it. Fasha" I saw Zushi used the Raika during her flight with the Dark Phantom member. It was very resourceful." Zushi" Of course it was." Eyashi" It seems that Zushi is here(outside)."
Phil" If Sid's mother could give some of her light power to others, could it work for someone else like me?" Eyashi" I did not think on that. I have to see. Sid Form your Spirit Cannon." He does. Sid's is glowing whiite while Eyashi and Zushi's are regular white. Fatha's is glowing purple because she infused it wiith her aura. Is smaller and cost less spirits. Phil" Now let's see could I hold it." Sid tries to but he gets blown back. Phil" That had some kick to it." Fasha" How do you feel?" Phil" I'm fine. I think." Sid" Let me try this." He tries to distribute some of the Light power to Phil and Fasha. Zushi" It doesn't seem to be working."
Sid" I guess I can't then." Eyashi" Time for some training then. Think we should use the Training Simulation Room. Been a minute." Jillian is shown. Jillian" No Evil doers can stop me now. She shows CJ her Anti-Sapien symbol. On the back of her neck. Covered up by hair. CJ" What am I looking at?" Jillian" It's my Anti-Sapien symbol. I thought you knew what it looked like?" CJ " Wait! You are one of them? How strong are you? I want you to fight me." Jillian we're not supposed to fight each other. We're supposed to fight the evil doers." Enemies appears. CJ" Time to test ourselves." Fight finished. Jillian" You did good. Maybe you will even be my sidekick and wear super suits. She charges off. CJ" thanks for your help. She was really positive." A person is shown in the distance. He has dark clothing on. He" This town is mine for the taking. He shows himself to Strider. Doesn't show his face. Strider" Are you responsible for this?" He doesn't say anything. He uses bugs to fight. Strider" So it was you. These bugs are too strong." The bugs form as one and choke Strider. They release him. He walks away and says" Next time I won't be be so merciful. He's gone. Strider grabs is neck and is breathing heavily. Strider" That son of bitch!" He goes to the others. Strider runs into Draum. Draum" Why do look like this?" Strider" I just got into a fight with this weird guy. I couldn't see his face though. He used these bugs on me and was able to do away with me but didn't. If he comes back, I want to be prepared. Draum" Slow your roll. We need to get to the others first." Strider" Angreed."

I'd appreciate having some help on this build - in particular, with picking a GPU. Current build is at end of the post.

1. What will you be doing with this PC? Be as specific as possible, and include specific games (ex: resolution, FPS, settings) or programs you will be using.

• This is 60% a work computer, with triple monitors (two 1080p, and one 1440p at 180hz). On a given day, I'm swapping between 5 open word documents, 10 open PDFs, 30+ open browser tabs, and Outlook desktop with 10 email drafts.

2. What is your maximum PRE-TAX budget before rebates and shipping?

• $1,800 CAD, though I benefit from having some items already

3. When do you plan on building/buying the PC? Note: beyond a week or two from today means any build you receive will be out of date when you want to buy.

• Buying remaining parts this weekend, if possible.

4. What, exactly, do you need included in the budget? (ex: toweOS/monitokeyboard/mouse/etc)

• CPU, MB, RAM, GPU, tower (optional), OS.

5. If reusing any parts (including monitor(s)/keyboard/mouse/etc), what parts will you be reusing? How old are they? Brands and models are appreciated.

• I've got a Corsair AX850 Gold Plus PSU, but I purchased new SAMA Blackhole Gold units with ATX3.0 in the recent price error sale - I have an 850W and 1200W on standby if these would benefit the new GPU. If not, they'll get sold at deep discount to pass on the savings!

6. Will you be overclocking (ex: CPU/GPU/RAM)? If yes, are you interested in overclocking right away, or down the line?

• Yes, but I'd prefer to have a future upgrade path option - e.g. if AM5 is planned for a couple generations, I'd rather rely on that than overclock.

7. Are there any specific features or items you want/need in the build? (ex: SSD, Wi-Fi/Bluetooth, VR, VirtualLink, tensor cores, large amount of storage or a RAID setup, CUDA or OpenCL support, etc)

• I'm planning to use an unRaid setup. Also, I'd like to complete this build in white if possible! Lastly, this is being built for gaming in 1440p and 170+hz, for the first time in my life, with a goal of 100+ FPS in current games.

• Strong preference for a white case, though I don't know if it will fit in the budget. I can re-use my existing Fractal Design R3 case for now if necessary. [Edit: I'd previously suggested "as small as possible" here - I'm actually going for performance over size for this build.]

9. Do you need a copy of Windows included in the budget? Note: some post-secondary students can get Windows 10 for free.

• Yes. My current build has Windows 11, but I don't anticipate I can reuse this with a new CPU.

10. Will you be upgrading this PC in the future (ie: will you swap out better parts later on or will you build an entirely new tower later)? If so, when?

• Yes! Future CPU/GPU upgrades in 3 and 6 years time would be great.

• I have a line on a cheap 7800X3D ($267), and have previously only used NVIDIA GPUs, so I'm planning AMD CPU and NVIDIA GPU.

Warbits+ [Game Size: 205 MB] ($4.99)

Warbits+ is a fantastic turn-based strategy game where we use our troops to dominate small maps across lots of offline and online game modes, including same-device multiplayer, asynchronous online PvP, and user-created levels.
A match in Warbits+ takes place on a map split into tiles. The goal is to spawn various troops and use them to take out all the opponent’s units or capture their base.
On each turn, we can move all our units and even buy new ones for cash. Because of this, it’s important to not only rush to defeat enemies but also capture city tiles that provide money at the start of every turn.
Both players have access to the exact same units, so the gameplay is entirely fair. And since each unit has unique stats and traits, there are lots of potential strategies to explore in each 5-15 minute match.
One of the game’s most interesting mechanics is that the damage output of each unit is proportional to its remaining health. And before executing an attack, we can even see how much of the enemy’s health it will take.
This creates a huge first-mover advantage. So the best strategy is often to force the enemy to move close to us without being able to attack us that round. Positioning is also important because certain tiles give distinct advantages or disadvantages, like units on dirt tiles taking 10% more damage.
The level editor is easy to use, and the community-created levels can be played online versus friends or via same-device multiplayer. Other multiplayer modes use online matchmaking.
The art style is cute and polished. My biggest frustration was that it was hard to distinguish some unit types from others.
Warbits+ is a $4.99 premium game. It’s truly a hidden gem and has quickly become one of my favorite turn-based strategy games.

BROK the InvestiGator [Total Game Size: 952 MB] (Free Trial)

BROK The InvestiGator is an interesting mix of a classic point-and-click adventure and an action beat-em-up. So we apply logic and deduction to investigate the mysterious events happening in a dystopian sci-fi world, but may also use the power of our fists when all other methods fail.
We play as an anthropomorphic crocodile juggling the roles of a private investigator and an underground fighter to pay his ever-growing bills and provide for his foster son.
Pursuing odd and often dangerous jobs from insolvent clients, we travel through the decadent remains of a once prosperous country to meet with representatives of different social classes and participate in dubious – often illegal – activities, all while trying to stay alive.
Aside from following the main questline, we may also accept a bunch of optional tasks that shape our character and our relationship with other people, ultimately leading to one of many endings. And to do our job effectively, we must keep our eyes open for clues and optional items, because we never know what may come in handy throughout our journey.
What makes BROK the InvestiGator unique is its heavy focus on action. Not only can we jump, run, kick, and punch to overcome various obstacles, but we also participate in full-fledged fighting sequences. Here, we use swipe gestures or on-screen buttons to land complex attacks, wield weapons, and block incoming damage to defeat numerous enemies.
The game supports controllers for a more comfortable experience, and we can even have our friends help us in a same-device coop mode.
BROK the InvestiGator is free to try, with a $7.99 iAP unlocking the remaining chapters.
Despite some minor visual and performance issues, it's an impressive indie game made with love that will keep you entertained for more than 15 hours.

Vermitron [Game Size: 43 MB] ($2.99)

Vermitron is a beautiful retro-styled mix of twin-stick shooting and tower defense where our goal is to defend a pretty flower from invading space insects.
The game is set in a distant future where all that remains of plant life from the old Earth is our one flower. And now, it is up to our ”robot self” and our pet cat to keep this questionably smelling flower alive by watering it and defending it against the constant threat of space vermin.
The gameplay consists of traversing floors of a facility to search for watering cans that we can bring back to our flowery friend. As we explore, we must deal with pest-themed enemies – a task that quickly escalates from using our infinite supply of bug spray to building power supplies and defensive turrets along our paths.
Killed bugs and blown-up furniture drop coins and crates that our cat collects so we can use it to unlock new weapons and strategic upgrades.
Careful preparation and mindful spending is a must, because once we start dragging back a watering can, waves of insects pop out in search of a leafy lunch - and we can't rely on our bug spray alone to keep them away.
The most optimal strategy for spending coins and placing turrets isn’t immediately evident, so a few embarrassingly failed runs is necessary for most new players to learn how to execute a flawless extermination plan.
The game has perfectly captured and worked the ZX Spectrum era graphical style and sound design. And while the touch controls are useable, a Bluetooth controller is always preferable in twin-stick games.
Vermitron is a $2.99 premium game with no iAPs. For anyone looking for an arcade action game with a charming retro style that doesn’t get in the way of the gameplay, Vermitron is an easy recommendation.

Puzzling Peaks EXE [Game Size: 72 MB] ($1.99)

Genre: Platform / Physics-based - Offline

Puzzling Peaks EXE is an unforgiving mix of platforming, physics-based puzzles, and pinball gameplay. It’s one of those games where our skills and patience are truly tested as we stumble around in a treacherous environment.
The game tasks us with guiding a little white blob named Knightly through various levels. Knightly can’t move on his own, so we must bump and throw him around using pinball-like paddles that are scattered around each stage.
With no direct control over Knightly, this seemingly simple task gets challenging really quickly – especially when we need to dodge spikes or jump over huge gaps. And to make matters worse, the paddles can only spin clockwise and counterclockwise, which we control by tapping the right or left side of the screen respectively.
While the physics do feel a tiny bit floaty, it is at least consistent, which makes each death feel fair. And combined with an always-present reset button that lets us restart in an instant, the game is a lot less frustrating than it could have been.
There is nothing special about the pixel art style. It’s simple and minimalistic but still crisp. Sadly, there isn’t much variety to the backgrounds, which gets a bit boring. And although there is actually a somewhat riveting story to explore, we die so often that it feels a bit skippy.
Puzzling Peaks EXE is a $1.99 premium game.
While the gameplay is hard and unforgiving, it’s never unfair. So this is an easy recommendation for any fan of challenging games of physics-based puzzle platformers.

Earn to Die Rogue(Game Size: 472 MB] (Free)

Earn to Die Rogue is a 2D reverse bullet hell roguelike platformer set in the Earn to Die universe.
The gameplay has us jump around small platforming levels to shoot zombies and turrets before they kill us. Our character attacks automatically, so our job is to navigate the maps and avoid taking damage.
It’s actually not too unlike Pickle Pete or Vampire Survivors – except we view our character from a side-view perspective instead of top-down.
When all enemies are killed, we can move on to the next area. The goal is to complete 30 areas and defeat the final boss so we can play the next chapter. And every time we level up, we get to pick one of three random upgrades that last until we die, which makes the gameplay more chaotically fun the longer we survive.
Between these runs, we spend cash on permanent stat boosts and equipment upgrades. We also gradually collect parts for our vehicles, which eventually unlocks a game mode that is more akin to the old Earn to Die games.
Unfortunately, this mode is very limited and you’d have a better experience just playing the old games. The mode feels almost forcefully added just to appease old players, but it just doesn’t work.
Thankfully, the platforming in the primary game mode feels great – especially when unlocking the jetpack and upgrading movement speed. And the permanent progression is rewarding.
Earn to Die Rogue monetizes via a few incentivized ads, and iAPs for monthly subscriptions and loot boxes with better gear. However, I have not seen any paywalls, and I appreciate that there’s no energy system or forced ads.
If you enjoy reverse bullet hell games and platformers, this is good fun. Just don’t expect an old-school Earn to Die game.

I see a ton of posts of people recommending Klaviyo for email. For me and my shop, Klaviyo was overkill. Ultimately I switched to Attentive because Klaviyo is expensive and we weren't utilizing it enough to be worth it. Also, you prepay for SMS by buying credits. If you use more credits than what you prepaid, you get bumped up. If you don't check it, you'll continue to pay for more credits than you use. Our store ended up paying double what it should have been for SMS for about a year. Our fault for not checking more often, but also not a great experience so we left.
I am two months into using Attentive for both email and SMS and here are my thoughts so far:
How much am I saving with Attentive?
My Klaviyo plan was between $1200-$1400/month. With Attentive I will b paying around $800.

Differences between Attentive & Klaviyo

Again, because we don't use a ton of 3rd party integrations, which is where I think a lot of the power of Klaviyo comes into play, there haven't been any shortcomings we couldn't figure out. But there have definitely been a few differences.
Transactional emails
With Klaviyo I could create an email flow based on users entering a segment. I could also get that flow approved as transactional with a review from customer support. Easy peasy. With Attentive, they have a few predefined triggers for transactional emails, but entering a segment isn't one of them. In order to do what we wanted, we had to pay for a few hours of development to use the Custom Events API to trigger these emails. Cost me about $1000 for that, which ate 2.5 months of savings. Why did we need this? We use a subscription app called Subscription Herder. SH can send transactional emails for failed payments or cancelled subscriptions, but I wanted the emails to come from Attentive (so I could see analytics and test things). SH tags customers in Shopify when their payment fails or they cancel their subscription, so I needed to trigger transactional emails based on Shopify tags.
Flows/Journeys
Klaviyo has way more predefined flows than Attentive. But Attentive does a better job at integrating both SMS and email into the same flow in their predefined flows. In Klaviyo, I believe you have to set that all up yourself.
Nitpicky UI stuff
In both Klaviyo and Attentive, you can click on things (flow triggers, emails, etc.) and a panel on the right side opens where you can edit those things. I think Klaviyo's UX is better. If I want to edit a subject line, for example, I have to click "Edit" which changes the panel to an edit state with an obvious save button. With Attentive, you can just freely edit, which seems nice, except it's less obvious you have unsaved changes and if you click out of the panel you get an "Are you sure" dialog asking if you want to discard your changes. I see this dialog on accident several times anytime I'm editing flows and it's very annoying.
In Klaviyo you can preview an entire email in the right pane without having to open the email. With Attentive, you can only preview the first 100 pixels or so. This is super annoying because it means you have to click Preview and load every email in order to see what's in it.
I think dynamic links and variable editing is way easier in Attentive.
I like Attentive's concept of Rows more than I like Klaviyo's "Universal content". In Attentive, I can build out a row, like a footer, all on its own without creating it inside of an email. With Klaviyo, you can't just create Universal content. You have to be in an email editor and then save the block of content from there.
I HATE all the pagination in Attentive. You can only see like 8 of your Flows at a time and they only display as cards. A list view would be really nice. Klaviyo does this way better.
Contracts
To get as good of pricing as we did, we had to sign a 3 year contract. I didn't mind though because jumping from ESP to ESP is not what I want to do. I have a family member who is super happy with Attentive for SMS so I figured we would make it work. And so far so good. Klaviyo is month to month.

Conclusion

Do I wish I stayed with Klaviyo? No. It's not worth the price for us. I do miss some of the UX and the ease of doing transactional flows. But with a little work, I've been able to implement everything in Attentive that we had in Klaviyo.
I will update this post if I run into any other issues.

Chapter 1 (TW gore) The hero ran as far as he could down the stairs, trying his hardest to make it all the way down. He was fine, sure, but his teammate was not. Blood pooled on his hands and the dead weight carried him down, he panted hard, and his vision got blurry. “Char. Char stay with me please!” He shouted, choking on his words. He held back tears. Not the time, he reminded himself as he ran down the last steps and slammed the door open. Nobody expected it. The team was doing the normal rounds when the villain appeared. We were fighting fine, but the villain ambushed them brutally, almost killing the team. Tide was so close, he had shot him and drifted him back far away enough, yet directly into an unsuspecting Char. She didn’t have time to prepare as the villain directed a fireball into her stomach. He looked down at her stomach one last time, and continued his trek down the street. If he could get a safe distance, he could heal her. He ran another 2 blocks just to be sure, then slowed as he entered a dirty alley. He set her down slowly, trying to ignore her moans of pain. He examined the blacked skin around the wound as best as he could before throwing up. He groaned, then got back to work. Closing his eyes, he searched for the light. He found the dim flame eventually, and held it. He concentrated as hard as he could as he seeped his energy into the flame, slowly but steadily. His vision was starting to get blurry, and his head was pounding, but he wasn’t done. He kept pouring his energy into hers until he could feel the wound close, giving her a bit more energy before falling back. He panted in pain for a while, and tried to push back the exhausted feeling as he inspected the wound. It was healed, she would be ok. But, she needed rest. So did he. There was no way he could lift her all the way home, he probably couldn’t get her down the street. He groaned as he reached into his pocket and pulled out his mic. As soon as he did, voices yelled at him. “Never take the headset off again Sprout or I swear I will personally rip out every single one of your teeth, grind them to a fine paste, and pour it in your cereal.” “Good to hear you're glad I’m ok. Listen, I’ve got Char here, I just healed her. There’s no way I can carry her back with the amount of energy I just used.” “Shit” said another voice. “First we got ambushed and now this!” “Just track us and pick us up, bring the car around.” “Fine. Keep the headset in though, and take it easy. You don’t need to overwork yourself anymore.” “Thanks Tide, Ash.” He said as he took the headset out, stuffing it in his pocket again. Char looked peaceful in her sleep, and Sprout decided to let his guard down for now. Sprout leaned against the wall behind him, letting it support his aching bones. He was basically useless to the team. He was only able to heal, sure he was good at it, but what could that do in an active fight? Char could summon burning hot lava, Tide could control powerful waves, and Ash could disappear and reappear in a cloud of smoke. Healing was considered a rare ability, he could heal himself and others easily, but it made him feel useless when it came to actual fights. He could do nothing but watch as his friends fought powerful villains. Of course, his power was useful tonight, he saved his partner's life, but it was an overall useless ability to have. These thoughts ran through his mind, distracting him from the sound of a car driving up. Sprout looked up to see the car just as it parked, immediately suspecting something. “That can’t be good,” he muttered to himself. It was 3am, and there was no building around the alley. There was no way he could hide, but he could hide Char. He scrambled to take his jacket off, trying to make it look like he was carelessly throwing it to the side while hiding his teammate's unconscious body. “Shit.” It was Venom, one of the villains that ambushed him. “And how are you on this lovely night?” called Venom, trying to sound casual. His black suit reminded Sprout of Char’s wound. He had to make sure she would be ok. “I believe you're coming with me, hop in!” Venom announced. There was no way Sprout could win the fight now. He had no choice but to stall. “And why would I come with the villain I just fought?” “Because I won't hurt your teammate here if you do,” He followed him. They must have known Char was with him and healed. He hesitated. “And what makes you think you'll be able to catch either of us?” “Oh, i don't know; Maybe the fact that one of you’s unconscious and the other drained so much energy he can’t stand up?” Venom sneered. Sprout could tell through his black and green mask he was grinning, and he wanted so badly to smack that smile off him. “Or maybe I'll have to show you what happens if you resist?” Sprouts eyes went wide. Venom was strong, and dangerous. He was able to produce poison in his body,and was able to control the potency, a touch could kill you. Stall, that was his only way out. “Should I kick your ass again?” Venom laughed, “We both know you don’t believe you can, and we both know full well that wasn't anywhere near what I can really do.” It was true. The Initial fight seemed easy, too easy. “Or maybe you're just a weak bastard.” Sprout's words were halfhearted, and they both knew he was just spewing lies. “Oh really?” He dashed over, punching him straight in the nose before he could muster enough strength to move. Sprout doubled over in pain, wincing as he reached a hand up. “You…bitch” Sprout growled between shaky breaths. The punch hurt, a lot. “So, are you coming with me or not? Remember that resistance will be met with damage to your…teammate.” He growled, upset. Nothing could happen to Char. She was still wounded, and unable to defend herself. Then, he stood up, using the wall for support. He had a plan, but he needed to act defeated for it to work. He walked a step towards Venom, not making eye contact and hiding the hand he stuck in his pocket. Sprout hated the headphones his team insisted on him wearing, but they had a secret emergency button. Pressing it would inform the rest of his team that his situation was life or death. He pressed it rapidly, hoping to signal how bad this was. “So, you follow around heroes often?” “Hardly call you a hero, but no.” “What would you call me?” Venom thought for a minute, “A sidekick, or a medic.” “I’m just as important to the team as anyone else.” That's what Sprout told himself, but yet again they both spotted the lie. Sprout leaned against the wall, reaching a hand up near the bruise where he was punched. He closed his eyes and looked for his familiar energy light, finding it quickly. It was much easier to heal himself than others, so healing the bruise only took him a few seconds and barely any energy. Venom just stood there watching. As soon as Sprout opened his eyes again, he heard the deafening sound of a car driving way over the limit. His team. Sprout smiled at Venom's tilted head. “Emergency button. Useful huh?” He smiled, loving every moment. Venom turned to him quickly, yelling in anger as he pushed Sprout onto the floor behind the car. Venom stood on his stomach, leaning down and pressing a cloth over his mouth. Sprout struggled, kicking and splaling his arms, desperate. But Venom held him down, not budging an inch. Sprout let out one last muffled sound before the black took over his vision.
Chapter 2 (TW Panic attack He woke up in the back seat of Venom's car. His mouth was bound, but he could move his hands and legs with no problem. He looked around with panicked eyes, landing on Venom. Venom looked at Sprout with a mocking smile, Sprout could tell he was amused with his panic. Sprout reached up with his hands to take off the mouth bind, but Venom stopped him with a violent look. “I wouldn't do that. Feel that odd band on your wrist?” Venom carelessly remarked. Sprout nodded, scared and panicked at the weight of the black band. He hadn't noticed it before. “It's full of my poison. I have a remote here” He said as he held up a small gray remote with 2 black buttons. “If, or maybe I should say when I press it, it will inject it into you as long as press.” He smiled, like what he threatened was something to talk about over tea. Sprout was starting to hate his grin, but there was nothing he could do. If he resisted, he would be killed. Sprout glared at Venom and flipped him off, wincing at the jolt of pain that went up his arm. “Oh and the other button sends shock waves, fun, isn't it?” Sprout forced himself not to punch his stupid grin off his face, and looked out the window. Sprout was scared. He had been said many times before, but nothing compared to the lightning jolts of anxiety in his stomach he faced sitting next to the villain. He put one hand over his stomach and his head down, trying to hide his rushed thoughts and fear from Venom. He gripped his shirt harder as he breathed roughly, starting to hyperventilate. His mind raced at the possibilities of what could happen to him, and each notion made him wince harder. He hardly noticed the tears running down his face and into his mouth as he started sobbing roughly. He was going to die. Venom was going to hurt him in some way he couldn't heal himself from, and he would perish. Sprout felt like every breath would be his last, and nothing soothed his panic. He could barely get a breath out, and he hardly noticed the car coming to the stop and the door being opened until someone grabbed his arm and pushed him. He crumpled to the ground in a mess of tears and ragged breaths, fighting against the yanks on his arm. He only groaned at the kicks, trying to ignore them and focus on a steady breath, but the kicks only made his panic worse. “Cooperate now or I’ll give you another shock.” Venom growled. This made Sprout snap back to reality slightly and comply as much as he could, standing up and trying to walk with blurry eyes. He kept his head down as he walked, trying to hide his tears and snuffles. He hated looking this weak. Venom tugged him forward when he slowed down, and shoved him into a room. Sprout stumbled and fell into the room, seeing it was a jail cell. He looked up to glare at Venom as he left, leaning against the cold stone wall. There was nothing he could do now. He didn’t know how long he was left in the room, his head ached and his back screamed at him. He assumed he was in the room for at least a few days, and it was torture. The first day he scoped the area. It was dark, so he tripped often. He used his sense of touch to test the bars, and even tried to squeeze between them. He gave up after what he thought was a few hours, and found the nearest corner to sit. If Char, Tide, or even Ash were in his shoes, they would escape without any problem. Why couldn’t Sprout get a useful ability like the rest of his team? After a few hours of these thoughts, he began to punch his head, hoping to hit away the thoughts. He began trying to sleep just as he heard a creak. The door was being opened. A light above him turned on and revealed Venom and his annoying grin. “Cmere.” Sprout shook his head, glaring. “Want me to take the muffler off idiot?” This made Sprout get up and walk slowly over to him, wincing at the light overhead. He continued his glare as Venom untied the muffle, throwing it to the side and looking at him. “What do you want with me?” Sprout questioned with a raspy voice, he was unused to talking. “I want you to heal my teammate.” Venom said in his normal, casual tone. Sprout looked at him with a shocked expression. “Fuck no! You kidnapped me!” “I noticed” “Shut the fuck up! What makes you think I’ll do anything to help you?” Sprout yelled, angry. Is Venom stupid? Why would Sprout help the man who kidnapped and helped injure his friend? Venom leaned close to him, “because if you don’t, I’ll break every bone in your body and make you heal yourself until you can’t anymore” he whispered. Sprout leaned away, then swung at his face. Venom dodged it easily, kicking him in the legs and watching him fall with an amused expression. “Wouldn’t try that again.” He chuckled, clearly enjoying Sprouts grim expression. He watched Sprout try to get up before pushing him back and stomping on his ankle, adding searing pressure until he heard the crack. Sprout cried out in pain and fell back, holding back tears while Venom laughed. Sprout tried to heal himself through the pain and panic as best as he could, but he wouldn’t be able to walk on the ankle for a few days at least. Venom laughed again, “Wanna try fighting me again?” He said as he walked forward, making Sprout flinch and back away. “I won’t kill you…not yet at least.” He kneeled down, grabbing Sprout's chin and forcing him to look at his horrible grin, “I have lots to study. Did you know I’m not just a villain, I’m a doctor?” Sprout jerked his chin away, and Venom stood up. He spared one last glance then walked away, turning the light off. “Cooperate tomorrow and I’ll give you food.” He chuckled, then walked away. Once again Sprout was stuck in the darkness. He dragged himself to the wall and let himself rest. He closed his eyes and tried to ignore the throbbing pain in his ankle. Tomorrow he would try to walk on it, then he would escape- somehow.
Chapter 3 Sprout drifted in and out of sleep all night, awakened by nightmares often. Eventually he gave up and focused on healing up his ankle more. He was starting to get bored, and depressed. He spent most of his time fantasizing about killing Venom, and even found himself grinning at the mental image of his blood. He decided that when the door would open next, he would pretend to still be hurt until he approached Venom, then attack. Of course, his plan was ruined when two people walked into his cell. Venom and Fireball, the hero’s who attacked his group originally. “Meet my son” Venom said as he walked up to Sprout, smiling at his shocked expression. “Just as ugly as you” Venom leaned down close to Sprout, cupping his face in his hand and tapping his nose mockingly. “Hmmm, are you sure about that? Last I checked I was the hottest villain in town, according to several magazines.” “Makes sense with the mask and all” “I don’t need a mask to be beautiful, unlike you.” Venom's son burst into laughter, earning him a glare from both Sprout and his father. “Anyway. Let’s have some fun, shall we?” Venom walked behind Sprout, tying his hands up. He did it with such ease, even though Sprout was struggling and kicking as hard as he could. After he was done tying up Sprout, he dragged him to a hook on the wall, tying him there. Sprout tugged his hands against the rope, wincing from the rope burn. Luckily, he could heal it quickly and easily, unlike what was about to happen. Fireball walked up to Sprout, pulling a knife from his pocket as Sprout struggled harder. Fireball acted quickly, using his power to heat the knife's edge. Sprout couldn’t help himself from whimpering as he looked at the red-hot tip of the boning knife. Venom laughed at the sight of him, and waved to encourage his son. Fireball pulled back Sprouts sleeve, staring at the slits that were there. “Seems ya got that down for yaselves” fireball laughed. But, Venom didn’t laugh. He glared at his son. He might be a villain, but he understood the need for pain. Sprout could tell Fireball was disappointed I’m not being allowed to tease him further, but quickly moved on. He lifted the knife up to his face, slashing along his right cheek. Sprout screamed as he slid the knife through his nose, left eye, and into his hairline. Fireball enjoyed the screams from Sprout. “That’s what’cha get for almost killin’ my girlfriend” Fireball got no response from Sprout though, he was too busy slouching and crying in pain.

My phone is in my husband's name and it makes using his card online really easy. I plan on getting a new number for my old phone in my own name and a cheap plan for my own verification things. I have an ARC, I just need the vocab to go get a new prepaid phone number so I can switch it over to Woori mobile later. I'm not in Seoul so the global stores is a no-go. Evidently they can only verify identities in person for new numbers.
Hubs said he'll go with me tomorrow to help but just in case he's too busy, I need the vocab to not get accidentally sucked into a contract or postpaid plan. Every search I find on here is about picking up SIMs at the airport or how to switch, not the terms needed to set it up in person.
ETA: I did ask my husband for the terms but he doesn't know since he's only had postpaid phones.

As the tension reaches its peak and the characters grapple with the consequences of their actions, a sudden interruption breaks the silence in the room. The door bursts open, and a figure steps inside, shrouded in darkness.

???: (Voice dripping with malice) Well, well, well. What do we have here?
​
The students and L turn to see the mysterious figure, their hearts pounding with apprehension.
​
L: (Alert) Who are you?
​
???: (Smirking) Oh, just a concerned observer, here to witness the downfall of UA's finest.
​
The figure steps forward, revealing themselves to be none other than Light Yagami, the infamous mastermind behind the Death Note.
​
Light: (Fixes his gaze on L) L, we meet again. It seems you've stumbled upon quite the scandal here at UA Academy.
​
The students exchange nervous glances, realizing the gravity of the situation.
​
Midoriya: (Shakily) You... you're Light Yagami. The one they call Kira.
​
Light: (Nods) That's correct, Midoriya. And I must say, I'm intrigued by what I've witnessed here today. A group of supposed heroes, driven to commit unspeakable acts in the name of justice.
​
Yaoyorozu steps forward, her voice trembling with defiance.
​
Yaoyorozu: (Angrily) We're not like you, Light. We may have made mistakes, but we're still heroes.
​
Light: (Chuckles) Heroes, you say? Tell me, Momo Yaoyorozu, what separates you from me? Both of us have taken matters into our own hands, believing ourselves to be arbiters of justice.
​
A heavy silence falls over the room as the students grapple with Light's words.
​
Light: (Continues) But enough about me. I'm more interested in your little investigation, L. Tell me, what have you uncovered so far?
​
L narrows his eyes, wary of Light's intentions.
​
L: (Cautiously) I'm afraid that's classified information, Light. You'll have to leave UA Academy immediately.
​
Light chuckles, unfazed by L's warning.
​
Light: (Smirking) Oh, I have no intention of leaving, L. Not until I've witnessed the full extent of your investigation. You see, I have my own plans for this school.
​
The students exchange uneasy glances, realizing the danger they're in.
​
Midoriya: (Desperately) We have to stop him, L. Before it's too late.
​
L nods, determination etched on his face as he prepares to confront Light and unravel the dark mysteries lurking within UA Academy. As the tension in the room reaches its peak with Light Yagami's presence, a sudden disturbance rattles the atmosphere. The door bursts open once again, and a mysterious figure clad in a purple demonic mask steps inside. The students and L stare in shock at the unexpected newcomer.

L: (Eyes narrowing) Who are you?
​
Purple Oni: (Voice distorted by the mask) I am the harbinger of vengeance, the nightmare you created. I am the Purple Oni.
​
The students exchange nervous glances, sensing the ominous aura emanating from the masked figure.
​
Midoriya: (Voice trembling) What do you want from us?
​
Purple Oni: (Sinister chuckle) I want justice, Midoriya. The kind of justice you denied me in life.
​
The Purple Oni moves with unnatural speed, launching an attack on the students. Chaos erupts as they scramble to defend themselves against the relentless assault.
​
Yaoyorozu: (Struggling) We have to stop him!
​
Ashido unleashes her acid quirk, while Bakugo ignites explosions in an attempt to fend off the Purple Oni. But their efforts are in vain as the masked figure effortlessly dodges their attacks.
​
Midoriya: (Determined) We can't let him win!
​
With a surge of determination, Midoriya charges forward, ready to confront the Purple Oni head-on. But as he delivers a powerful blow, the masked figure retaliates with equal ferocity.
​
L: (Watching the battle unfold) This is not an ordinary opponent. We need to uncover the truth behind the Purple Oni's identity.
​
As the intense struggle continues, the students manage to land a decisive blow, incapacitating the Purple Oni. With a sense of trepidation, they approach the fallen figure, ready to unveil the truth behind the mask.
​
One by one, they reach out and remove the mask, revealing the face of their former classmate, Minoru Mineta.
​
Midoriya: (Gasping in disbelief) Mi-Mineta...? How..? You're supposed to be DEAD!
​
Shock and horror wash over the students as they come to terms with the revelation. The once jovial and eccentric Mineta now stands before them, transformed into a vengeful and terrifying entity.
​
Mineta: (Voice filled with malice) You thought you could bury me. You thought you could erase me. But I am back, stronger than ever. And I will make you all pay for what you've done.
​
With a chilling laugh, Mineta vanishes into the shadows, leaving the students and L to grapple with the terrifying truth of his resurrection and the ominous threat he poses to their lives.
L: Hmm... It appears he's been resurrected from the dead... But how?
Midoriya: I-I don't know... Though... He seemed to resemble... A Nomu...? A very human looking one too...

L: Then I know who to interrogate for how this happened.
​
Time-skip to a few hours later once he arrives to the League of Villains' base...
​
L sits across from Tomura Shigaraki and the members of the League of Villains, his expression impassive as he listens to their explanation.
​
Tomura: (Leaning forward) You want to know about Mineta's resurrection, L? Fine. I'll tell you everything.
​
L remains silent, watching Tomura intently as he continues.
​
Tomura: (Continues) We found his corpse, beaten and discarded like trash. But we saw potential in him. So we sought out a brilliant scientist—a madman who dabbled in the forbidden arts of resurrection.
​
L's eyes widen in shock at Tomura's words, realizing the gravity of the situation.
​
Tomura: (Smirking) And now, Mineta is one of us. A member of the League of Villains, accepted and embraced for who he is, flaws and all.
​
A chill runs down L's spine as he considers the implications of Mineta's newfound allegiance.
​
L: (Calmly) And what do you hope to achieve by bringing him back?
​
Tomura: (Leaning back) Revenge, of course. Against the heroes who wronged him. Against the society that cast him aside.
​
A tense silence fills the room as L processes Tomura's words, understanding the depths of Mineta's resentment.
​
Dabi: (Sneering) And speaking of heroes, let's not forget dear Shoto Todoroki.
​
All eyes turn to Dabi as he continues, his voice dripping with disdain.
​
Dabi: (Continues) A hero in name only. Just like his old man, Endeavor. Both of them treated victims like trash, all in the name of their precious heroism. People often say I'm a cruel bastard myself, which is true... But at least I'm honest about it. I don't hide behind delusions of morality.
​
Tomura nods in agreement, a wicked grin spreading across his face.
​
Tomura: (Coldly) It seems heroism is nothing more than a facade, L. A facade that crumbles under the weight of hypocrisy and corruption.
​
L remains silent, his mind racing with the implications of the League of Villains' revelations.
​
L: I must ask... How did Minoru end up the way he did anyways? What happened to him?
​
Tomura: (Grimly) You want to know why Mineta is the way he is, L? Fine. But be warned, it's not a pretty story.
​
L nods, bracing himself for the dark truth behind Mineta's past.
​
Tomura: (Continues) Mineta grew up in a toxic environment—a broken home where love and compassion were nonexistent. His mother was neglectful, more interested in her own pursuits than caring for her child. And his father... well, let's just say he wasn't much better.
​
A heaviness settles over the room as Tomura's words sink in, the implications of Mineta's upbringing becoming clearer.
​
Tomura: (Continues) On top of that, Mineta was born with systemic hypoplasia, a condition that stunted his growth and made him an easy target for bullies. He was ridiculed and ostracized, unable to fit in or find acceptance.
​
L's expression softens as he listens to Tomura's account, feeling a pang of empathy for Mineta's plight.
​
Tomura: (Voice filled with contempt) So what did Mineta do? He turned to the only escape he knew: the internet. Surrounded by toxic influences and warped perceptions of reality, he sought validation and acceptance in all the wrong places.
​
L's heart sinks as he realizes the depth of Mineta's desperation and longing for connection.
​
Tomura: (Coldly) And then there's his dream of becoming a hero. A desperate bid to escape his miserable existence and become someone worthy of admiration. Someone like All Might. And also to have girls actually like him. I mean hey, what boy his age doesn't want a hot girlfriend, am I right? Heheheheh...
​
Silence hangs heavy in the air as the full weight of Mineta's tragic past becomes apparent.
​
L: (Somberly) It's a tragic tale, indeed. A reminder of the profound impact our environment and experiences can have on our lives.
​
Tomura: (Quietly) Perhaps, in the end, Mineta was just a lost soul searching for a place to belong. And in the darkness, he found us.
​
L: (Curiously) Why were you so eager to take Mineta in, Tomura? What did you see in him?
​
Tomura leans back in his chair, his expression contemplative as he considers L's question.
​
Tomura: (Thoughtfully) In many ways, I saw myself in Mineta. We both grew up in environments poisoned by cruelty and neglect, surrounded by people who only saw us as tools to be used and discarded.
​
L listens intently, sensing the weight of Tomura's words.
​
Tomura: (Continues) All For One took me in when I was lost and alone, offering me purpose and power. Now, it's my turn to extend that same hand to Mineta.
​
L nods in understanding, recognizing the parallels between Tomura and Mineta's experiences.
​
L: (Gently) It seems you both found solace in the darkness, in paths that others would deem as criminal.
​
Tomura: (Nods) Exactly. And as for why I chose to take in Mineta... well, let's just say that his connection to Class 1-A was a deciding factor.
​
L's eyebrows furrow in confusion, prompting Tomura to elaborate.
​
Tomura: (Darkly) You see, L, Class 1-A represents everything wrong with the Hero Society. They're supposed to be the best and brightest, the future heroes of tomorrow. And yet, they were a major factor in Mineta's suffering.
​
Tomura's voice drips with contempt as he speaks of Class 1-A, his disdain for the Hero Society palpable.
​
Tomura: (Continues) In Mineta's suffering, I saw validation of my beliefs. That heroism is nothing but a facade, a lie perpetuated by those who seek to maintain their power and privilege.
​
L absorbs Tomura's words, recognizing the depth of his resentment towards the Hero Society and those who uphold its ideals.
​
L: (Reflectively) It's a sobering reminder of the flaws inherent in our society, and the consequences of turning a blind eye to the suffering of others.
​
Tomura: (Darkly) You need to understand, L. Mineta is not the same person he once was. The trauma he endured at the hands of his classmates has left him broken, consumed by rage and despair. He's nothing more than a wild animal now, driven by instinct and pain.
​
L: (Firmly) I refuse to believe that Mineta is beyond saving. No matter how dire the situation may seem, there is always hope for redemption.
​
Tomura chuckles darkly, shaking his head in disbelief.
​
Tomura: (Skeptically) You think you can save him? You think you can stop the Purple Oni?
​
L: (Unwavering) I will do whatever it takes to bring Mineta back from the darkness. I won't stand idly by while innocent lives are threatened.
​
Tomura's expression hardens, a glint of defiance in his eyes.
​
Tomura: (Coldly) Suit yourself, L. But mark my words, the fall of UA Academy is inevitable. And when it crumbles, each and every one of its so-called heroes will fall with it.
​
L meets Tomura's gaze, his resolve unwavering despite the grim outlook.
​
L: (Determined) I won't let that happen. I'll find a way to save Mineta, to bring him back from the brink. And I'll ensure that justice is served for all those who have suffered at his hands.
​
