I need help with a degu problem. Recently I got 2 degus - a mom and a son. I want to point out a very real perspective in all of this. experienced artists and creative people, like the ones that created FF7, are not that attached to their creations as the fans are. that is why they are willing to change many things in the story, designs and settings.
The og FF7 was amazing but that was in part because the presentation left a lot to the imagination of the player, the player's mind filled in many gaps in the story and design. the whole game feels like you are playing with toys in a diorama which is great and lovely and works in favor of the game and story but the moment you translate that setting into a realistic one, like in the remake, many moments will end up feeling goofy.
Some vocal fans might not realize or remember how many goofy moments happened in the original game, Heidegger for example slaps soldiers when Rufus disrespects him at Junon. and who would have thought that the creators's version of Biggs, Jesse and Wedge in the remake were so corny right? but those characters were also kind of goofy in the og game but the new versions are quite unremarkable.
Also the story in FF7 advent children was very over the top so I don't get the fans that hate those bombastic moments in the remake, FF in general became very over the top when doing High fidelity projects.
On a side note, design wise, the character designs are gorgeous and they did an outstanding job in modernizing those designs, they did wonders with the clothing, fabrics and the materials while maintaining the og silhouette of the characters very much intact which I thought was masterfully done.
The problem that I see with the disparity and mixed opinions from the fans is that the reimagining of a media product like ff7 is difficult to satisfy for both the creators of the game and the fans alike, the creators have their own vision and want to fulfill their creative ambitions while the fans want "the same thing but better" and they are going to be disapointed when they are playing a reimagining, a re-make of the game.
Having said this I also agree with the hating vocal fans, I would have prefered a straightforward HD version of the OG game but my optimistic self thinks it will happen after the whole reimagining is done.
But I don't think the remake is a selfish/self-serving project solely for the makers of the game, for starters this is a businees for them and I genuinly believe this platinum treatment of the FF7 brand was done for the fans that had made the brand so succesful. I think they are trying to fullfil creative ambitions that makes the team excited to create a modern product that satisfies them and the fans alike, while getting new ones on board.
I came to play the remake with the idea that I'm getting a different experience from the original game, and that mentality has helped me appreciate the game for what it is. The remake is quite fun and I'm having a blast, the system is totally different from the og game but the gameplay of the remake is dynamic and exciting. And the overworld in rebirth is so well done, it definitely required so much work from the developers of the game to design the landscape of a very blank overworld that existed in the og game. In the og game the overworld is just a simplification of the map, for a realistic look in the new games it is a NECESITY to fill ALL that empty space with plenty of detail.
While the gameplay in the remake is super satisfying, tight and exciting, it is not the same for the characters and the story in general, there is a lot of dialogue that feel so unecesary and out of place. The developers are moving mountains in making all that inmense cast of characters interact with each other, like seriously they went above and beyond with trying to come up with ways to make all of these characters interact with each other, that is no easy task. but some of those interactions felt not genuine at all, many reactions and responses are cringe, lame or not human, there were moments I was like, no person speak like this.
Gameplay wise they are even trying their best to make you control different characters throughout the game so you don't stick with the same ones for the whole game, they are constantly switching up the combination so you try out different ones.
A lot of thought and care are being put in the remakes and that should be acknowledged by the fans that were disappointed, but they did dropped the ball with the dialogues and some story changes, straight up trash.
There are valid things to hate and to be disappointed by but I'm just here to point out the things that impressed me and delighted me.

Haven't played TF2 in a couple months, started coming back to it for the past two weeks.
Are there new types of bots? I am used to the sniper ones that spin around and headshot but I have been seeing some new ones.
Often these bots play Scout, Heavy, Engineer, and Spy. They run around and lock on to you and aim bot. Often I find that they also have some sort of crit hack as well. It is really easy to tell if one of them is a bot because they twitch like crazy and have no hats or skins.
One of the weirdest things I noticed was that they try to mimic players when vote-kicking. When they initiate a vote kick on a real player they say things like, "bro what I'm not a bot" or "blue/red kick your bot please." I have seen a couple real players get kicked because a person who isn't paying attention will just F1 because it is natural, and the chat is a quick re-affirm.

I've started a handful of T3 app projects which made it easy to get up and running but I found that it became a headache managing changes between people updating T3 app and my customizations I had to re-apply to each of my projects I'm trying to find a solution where I can have a base project that I can extend in my projects. I moved into an apartment in Brooklyn with my partner at the time in the fall. We recently broke up and I moved out. Please understand that I'm not trying to be a party pooper. This is a genuine request.
This killer has a super cool power and a really neat esthetic. But the more I heard from the developers the more I felt that dungeons and dragons doesn't fit the game. Especially with the guy from WotC saying that they were "experimenting" with horror. I get that D&D has horror-inspired modules (like I assume the one Vecna is from) but to me that doesn’t make it fit a game like DBD.
I guess I just see DBD as like a horror hall of fame. Or like a horror smash bros. And seeing D&D in it gives me the same vibes I would get if, say, Spongebob was added to smash. Like, sure he has video games, but he isn't a video game character. That's how I feel about D&D. It has horror elements, but it isn't horror. Just having monsters doesn't make it horror (if it did, Minecraft, The Legend of Zelda, Undertale, ect. would be horror). And having a few horror modules doesn't make it a horror franchise.
The past "non-horror" stuff in the game was easy enough to pass over. I can get the Nicholas Cage perks without needing to have the character since all survivors are just skins of each other. And the Rainbow Six character skin I can just as easily not buy. But Vecna has a whole entire power that I can't just get on any other killer. Which makes me sad because I genuinely want to feel like Vecna belongs.
As I said earlier, I'm not against D&D in DBD because it's fantasy or whatever. I just don't see it fitting because I don't see it as horror. Maybe part of this is that I'm autistic, so sometimes I have certain "rules" in my head that I don't like breaking that make no sense to other people. Maybe I'm just the odd one out for not seeing how this fits.
The thing is, I'm not super strict about this "horror rule." Like, Castlevania isn't a horror game, but it's so baked in horror atmosphere that it doesn't feel out of place for me. So why can't I feel the same way about Vecna?

I've read so many tips and tricks and tried so many products but can't seem to find a good fit! After about 2 hours of wearing mascara it ends up smudged badly under my eyes and I get very self conscious of it in work especially. I apply concealer under my eyes and set it, use waterproof mascara. I used to like lining my eyes with a pencil but stopped this to see if it helped the smudging. I stopped applying mascara to my bottom lashes but it still happens and I feel it looks weird without it on both ends. I see a lot of two types of posts. Post A is "this is bad and it makes the game bad." Post B is "all people do is complain and it makes me grumpy!"
Yes that's a huge oversimplification, but it's reddit so, whatever.
I've usually empathize with B posters, even though it doesn't make me grumpy enough to post. But, I usually play everyday a little, offten with friends but also with a lot of random divers. And I see posts about nerfs or other "bad" choices AH makes. And I will usually try the nerfed equipment and while it does feel different it usually feels fine. It's never caused me to fail a mission or not have a ton of fun.
But none of that matters. I'm an extremely easy going person (if you are the type to dive into someone's comment history realize that I love going on foul mouthed rants more than I care about most things). But my point is, the fact that I'm fine with something doesn't mean it's fine.
It's made me take A posters with a little more grace. They just want the experience I have, they just have a higher metric to meet than some of us do. It's not just weapons, it's megacorp decisions too. I don't care about that, but of course it's understandable that some people do.

i was given a gaming pc on christmas and it ran perfectly fine until a couple days ago i started having issues. fans running at max rpm and some audio glitches. had a black screen once a couple days ago the screen just turned black like it was off and the pc didnt respond to any command, i had to shut it off by holding the power button. i monitored the temps and usually when i was gaming heavy games i could get high temps oscillating around 70 to 75celsius , sometimes peaking to 80 81 82 and going back to 75 but now i can get temps in the 80's just by having Opera opened on facebook and any gaming attempts results in a crash. i cleaned the fans and cooler fins , put some extra ventilation, tried to delete stuff to make more room on the SSD, prayed to ktulhu and almost sacirficed a chicken (not ready to deal with the mess) and nothing seems to help, its my first real gaming pc and idk what to do, its not even a year old.. gigabyte aorus laptop, intel i7, Nvidia RTX .. 3070 if i remember that correctly
i would have opted for a tower but since its a gift i didnt complain and took it as is. but i need to make it work. any ideas? tips? solutions? upgrades i could make?exept the obvious "get a tower" . . . .

Any tips on getting through the puppy stages? Our golden retriever puppy she’s 20 weeks old has really put us through it. We never imagined it being this completely hard. We’ve been absolutely miserable but really trying our hardest to push through. We have her potty training on puppy pads, she did horrible at first and then did so great for a few weeks, she was going on her puppy pads consistently and now the last week she’s back to having accidents all over the house. She had her last set of shots on Friday so waiting about another week to start training her to go potty outside. Not even sure how to transition her from puppy pads to outside. We’re really frustrated and exhausted. I do now understand why some people have to rehome their pups, it’s completely mentally exhausting and your mental health suffers tremendously through this period. Please help!! Btw we’re in an apartment which is why we had to puppy pad train.

This isn't a community I've reached out to before, mainly painting and modelling for Warhammer, but I'm at a bit of a loose end trying to source some paint and I wondered if someone might have a tip off.
I recently perfected a paint scheme using the old Vallejo Model Air Gunmetal. Unfortunately they seem to have changed the recipe, changing the shade and shine of the air paint, and consequently damaging my intended scheme I'd finally got right in my head.
The old paint used batch code TBORCQO, the new is T66LCQH. These numbers can be found just to the right of the "Made In Spain" on the old bottle label, and just below the barcode on the new bottle.
I'm really hoping someone knows of a shop or stockist out there (in the UK but depends how desperate this gets) who may still have maybe 3/4/5 of the old bottles. It would be enought to complete the models I need.
I'm starting to wish I'd batch bought it once I'd settled on my scheme, but procrastination got the better of me. I've reached out to a few eBay suppliers, but no joy, even emailing Vallejo themselves to see if they have some leftover old stock.

This past week, my bluetooth has been spotty on the car or just not working at all. Finally, it stopped working. I looked up how to reset it, but the reset didn't even work. I tried unpairing my phone, and now it wont re-pair. I am very frustrated because I have a road trip coming up, any tips?

Union Organizing Update
Over the past few weeks, several of us from this subreddit have joined together to form an organizing committee for unionization. We have organizers from across the United States, including organizers from Washington, Virginia, New Jersey, Florida and more. They are among some of the most frequent posters and helpers that you’re familiar with already, like ( u/mamabroccoli and u/Inevitable_Laugh4569 ). We have already been in contact with a couple unions for guidance, including a union with an office within a couple miles of the TDC main office in New York City. While our numbers are sufficient and I think we’re making great progress thus far, if you are still interested in having an active role, we’d love to have you. The more people helping, the better! If you would prefer a more passive role by simply giving your support, that’s always appreciated too!
We have been discussing our plans for near future of our potential tutor union. Most of the work from here will be contacting people and spreading the word about unionizing the tutor base. We will be providing more information over the next couple/few weeks. Later in the week, there will be a post about the benefits of unionization. Next week, we will post about the demands we’re going to state at the beginning of any negotiations. We have ideas for further informational posts. This is truly a group effort. I think you will like what we’re offering and will be glad to vote to unionize in the future.
The following letter is an open letter to tutor.com / The Princeton Review. You may notice that it is written a bit differently than the writings I usually produce. The reason for the tonal shift is because of writing help. I wrote the initial draft, which was edited by our committee to have a nicer flow, be less antagonistic, and add further pro-union arguments. We are committed to work together, and this is just the start of what we can do when we work together!

Open letter to tutor.com / The Princeton Review regarding attempts to unionize
Since we're starting the process of putting together a union proposal, we're publicly requesting tutor.com and/or The Princeton Review to voluntarily recognize that we're attempting to organize, and provide the resources necessary to hold a vote. From discussions amongst the committee, we know the main office is aware of this subreddit, and we'd imagine that someone is paying particular attention to our recent discussions about unionizing.
We understand if there's resistance from TDC to seeing their workers unionize, as that's a normal reaction in the business world. However, we urge you to instead be proactive and helpful as we attempt to organize.
We believe a tutor union can work in tutor.com's favor, to a great extent, for a variety of reasons:
* It would be a very good look publicly if you were to openly support the effort to unionize. We're in the education industry, a famously unionized industry, filled with people who will be more sympathetic to companies with unionized workforces. Being the one tutoring company that can truthfully say "We supported our tutors' right to unionize from day 1" could be a major selling point when seeking contracts in this industry.
* From what we've seen from your social media posts, tutor.com does seem to project a degree of progressivism. As an example, you've made posts taking pride in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at tutor.com, and you always try to highlight tutors who receive awards and recognition. You could significantly further this image by taking a union-friendly stance here. You've had executives post about how the tutors are loved - here's your chance to prove it.
* A tutor union would work to infinitely better the company itself. Tutors would feel better compensated and better heard, and as a result feel better and more enthusiastic about the company and their work overall. The better conditions would set tutor.com up as the de facto best online tutoring company to work for, and attract more and better talent to the company. It would be reasonable to set stricter quality standards and, in time, tutor.com would gain a reputation for being *the* premium tutoring service - the tutoring service that has tutors who rise above and beyond those at other services. Retention rates would skyrocket, institutional knowledge would accumulate - we'd become a company of true professionals.
* Were tutor.com to support the unionization process, it would start the relationship between the union and company off with mutual respect, a willingness to cooperate and compromise, and general friendliness and good will. This would ultimately serve us all better than a relationship borne out of malice, a refusal to acknowledge our existence, or open antagonism.
* tutor.com has faced some recent backlash from some right-wing government people regarding where we've ended up through corporate acquisitions, to the point where some are beginning to attack the military contract. One contract has already been lost for this reason. Being seen as a pro-worker company that broke industry norms and went out of their way to support their worker's right to organize, even if the effort ultimately fails, could easily work to gain the company some new allies on the left, shielding it from pointless attacks about its ownership.
We want to be clear that we're not asking for you to come out and endorse a "Yes" vote on unionization - though of course we'd be delighted if you did. What we're asking is for you to provide the resources necessary to hold an informed vote. Let us send out an email to all current US-based tutors with information regarding our efforts, and help us hold a vote to unionize at some point in the future. Offer your support or your neutrality, but please don't openly oppose or ignore our efforts. You've mentioned that "9 out of 10 tutors rate themselves Satisfied or Very Satisfied with Tutor.com" before - let's put that to the test. It may be that we hold a vote, and fail - and then, so long as you maintained neutrality and enabled us to make our case to the other tutors, we'll at least have our mutual good will, and you'll still be the pro-worker company that enabled, rather than hindered, an unsuccessful attempt to organize.
So, tutor.com / The Princeton Review, the ball is in your court now. Our attempt to organize will continue with or without your help, but we believe the best path forward is clearly the one where we work together on this. Doing nothing at all here is the easy choice, but it's also the cowardly choice. Support us, and we'll work together to better this company for its tutors and its students.

TLDR: Im scared to make the jump of ending things. I love him but I don’t think I’m in love with him anymore. Im scared it’s the wrong decision. Im scared to start over. Im worried financially. Im worried about our pets.
If you can do math I’m sure you can see that my boyfriend and I started dating pretty young, if anything I’d say he is my first love. I thought he was my true love. Backstory: We moved in together after about 7mo of dating (with roommates) then a few months later just the two of us. Things were great, we were working on our careers and got two dogs. It felt like we had a little family and happy life. Fast forward three years: we go on a trip with his family. His dad flips his shit on us about finances in an airport but is primarily yelling at me because my partner was being submissive and not questioning or trying to discuss this with his dad. His dad also brought our relationship into his yelling, saying things like I don’t make my BF happy, he doesn’t support our relationship. It was really shocking and “random” for me to see this display. It honestly sent me into a depression to be broken down like that publicly, with no warning, by my boyfriend’s dad and him not even sticking up for me or our relationship. My bf telling me the entire trip home and at home that that’s how his dad is, that he’s sorry, and he doesn’t know why his dad said those things. That he’s happy with me. Three months later I catch him texting other girls talking about meeting up. I already had a girls trip planned coming up and told him I needed time to sort through all of this given that I feel like I was dealt blow after blow. I came back from the trip and we talked about it more, I asked numerous times if there’s something I’m not doing right or if I do truly make him unhappy. He denies, says that he doesn’t know why he reached out to other women and that it was a stupid mistake that will never happen again. Of course for awhile I was on edge and wary but I loved him and wanted to make this work. A few more months later I was trying to find a tattoo artist he follows and showed me on instagram. But instead I found him following a lot of explicit female pages. I told him that this made me uncomfortable especially given our recent issues and set a boundary to not continue following/looking at these women. For the past year I feel as though things have been good and my trust is back for him. Here’s the but: 1) I don’t feel like I enjoy his conversation anymore or it’s gotten less. I feel like I have to initiate every conversation, find things to talk about. 2) I feel like I almost have to mom him or be his parent. Having to help him file his taxes, figure out his car insurance, his doctors appointments, cleaning etc. 3) He’s not romantic. We’ve had numerous conversations about how I want to surprise occasionally, I want him to do something romantic for me. I’ve quite literally almost begged him to. He always says he’ll try harder and he’s sorry. I know everyone has different love languages giving and receiving but I feel as though we’ve both communicated ours and it’s feeling one sided. Some anniversaries or valentines we took it easy and just did a cute dinner together. Some I planned trips for us. One year I did a surprise beach trip. For our 5yr anniversary I did a spa resort since neither of us had gone and well it’s our big 5 year anniversary! I don’t want to degrade him and say he’s never done anything for me but I just don’t feel like we’re on the same level. We just got back from a week long trip to the PNW we’ve been wanting to do for years. He didn’t put any effort into planning so I made the entire itinerary including finding where to eat at during the trip. I feel like this trip really snapped for me. Our 6yr anniversary is next month and I almost want to just not bother and see what he does, if anything. I know I shouldn’t expect things but I thought he was going to propose during our 5yr anniversary because he occasionally would ask what kind of wedding rings I liked. When he didn’t, I thought maybe he was waiting for a romantic trip like the PNW since we always talk about where we would and wouldn’t want to be proposed at. He didn’t. I know it sound silly to expect a ring when I’m sitting here questioning staying with him. Because I’m usually a logically person and clearly a planner and mentally made a pros and cons list.. and the reasons I kept coming back to for not leaving him is 1) we have long history together 2) I love him and I don’t want to hurt him 3) the stress of having to decide moving out and furniture 4) we have two dogs together 5) financially 6) I’m scared to start over.

I wanted to try and start reading cause most if not all of the animes I watch has a manga form which is way ahead story-wise to the anime series.
I attempted several times but I get lost in the sequencing especially with the dialogues. I guess one should just analyze based on context but sometimes I get stuck and have to pause and think.
I thought it should be easy as reading a book without having to think which could've been said or done or happened first before the other.
or maybe manga is just not up to my speed idk

I've noticed that fighting Tezclan in Mercury is pretty easy.
You just change floors with a high quasimorphosis level and Shartamakhum wipes the floor for you.
This works because most non-human Tezclan units are strong enough to kill faris but not strong enough to survive the aftermath. This works even if the baron dies early because against Tezclan the quasimorphosis level only goes down to 100 so Mercury quasimorphs won't despawn. I've tried this in a couple of long missions and the number of enemies you have to fight gets reduced to like 1/3 of the usual.
I would gess this works a bit worse in the moon but I haven't really tried it.
