2024.05.14 23:31 Glad_Gear_3778 My gf 18/F was raped, Im 19/M, Why is she looking at videos of SA 2 years after it happened to her?

Im 19 now and we met a year ago. We're obsessed over each other and talk about marriage, kids our future. And I know it's real. It might sound to anyone reading this like its just average kid stuff and they're young they probably won't make it or they all say that. But cut to the point I love her insanely. We were out in a pub drinking a few months ago and we were emotional that week talking about ourselves deeply about our relationship. And I was too drunk to remember but the topic of my childhood came up and it was very rough. Very rough living in a russian neighbourhood filled with hooligans who would stab your neck with a small pocket knife if you didn't give them your money, I lived there from birth to around 10y.o. Constant stealing of money, bicycles, phones, overall stealing and beatings. But worse of all SA. I talked about it all to her, Never had I talked to anybody about it, I felt safe finally, like I could speak out. I even had therapy because I couldn't go to school when I was a child and never told her when she mentioned SA. So I spoke out about the multiple times I was SA by a M to my gf. She listened and comforted me in the pub, she understood the pain. She had gone through the same when she was around 16. I didn't want to pry and ask her about it for her to relive it but I did. I asked when it happened, has she told anyone beside me? She said she didn't. Most importantly to me was that I needed to know who it was that did it. So I asked who did it. She never said, she got angry that I was asking her. I told i'd get him, I'd break his legs and arms and smash his teeth. I wasn't joking. She got more angry and told me to not ask her anymore about it. I didn't. For about a month. A month passed and we drank again, I wanted to know so badly, I was in such pain trying to sleep and the thought of my gf getting raped would come into my head. My whole body feeling like it's shutting down pain everywhere. The type of pain you get when you're uncontrollably angry I guess. So I asked her again that time we drank. She got even more bothered than before telling me to never ask about it again. She said I kept asking about it when she was drunk hoping that I would get her to say something about it. She was right about that part. So I didn't ask again. It kept and kept bothering me so so badly every few weeks the thought, I would try and forget about it as she had. She said those nights that "It doesn't matter anymore, it happened, nothing I can do about it so you forget it too, like I did." I told her okay. A few months later she got spiked going to a pub with her cousin and thought nothing of it. I was furious. Then a few months passed again.
Context: Me and my GF knew each other pins to our phones.
So we went out last Sunday for a date, after the date I drove her to her house so she could change clothes. I still had her phone in my pocket because she didn't have any pockets. I opened her phone and looked at tiktoks since we shared the same humour. I then remember the tiktok I saw a few weeks ago about people looking through their partners phones, but to never look in their notes app. I remembered that, so I closed tiktok on her phone and looked, 4 notes down I opened a note titled with the moon emoji. There was 4 website links. All of them were for staged rape porn. I took a screenshot and looked at them only today. They were not the shitty PHUB acting ones. These were made to look as real as possible, I opened them and viewed them clicking through each minute, where it would start, my heart sank. How realistic they made it seem, this was breaking into house with mask M, SA a F. Or in a forest ones. I was disturbed and sickened not only at her, but to my stomach. I could hardly watch but skimmed through them all.
Thoughts popped into my head about the times where we would have sex and I would put my hand on her neck by accident the first times to hold onto something so I had balance. When I did the force of my weight squeezed her neck. She looked like she enjoyed it but we never talked about it, she never told me to do it or not to. I did it a few times again more agressively other times we had sex, it looked like she enjoyed it again. Now looking back at it and seeing her have porn and especially rape porn on her notes that were dated only a week ago. Did she develop a something mentally after her SA and kept it hidden? I kept asking myself, I still don't know. I don't know what to do. Especially when I had asked her around a month ago if she masturbates or watches porn when she's away to her grandparents or when she had flown out with her family for a holiday and didn't see me for a week. She said she obv didn't watch porn she only did to my after gym videos and pics of me flexing. So I guess she lied, or she's just keeping rape porn videos there for fun. I don't know what to think anymore. I don't know how to ask about it. I need help.

2024.05.14 23:31 surprisedkinder Childish Gambino's "This is America" is Actually a Drake, Jay Z and Diddy Diss

Before going into it, I want to mention how this post was inspired by three things. One was user u/HastyvonFuego2 and their post on going down the rabbit hole on the Kendrick sub last week. It was also inspired by Childish Gambino’s first album release in nearly 6 years where I have been sitting on this idea for a while but he inspired me to finally post this week like he did (never posted on Reddit at all before so be gentle if I am not doing it right)! I was also inspired by an interview Bino gave to GQ about breaking down his most iconic characters. In this interview he says how This is America started out as a Drake diss but then he realized the song was too hard for just Drake so he kept working on it. He also talks in this interview about how all culture is about compression. Which means that yes, This is America is about the gun violence and police issues in America, but compressed in this video is also more about where that culture comes from which he shows is from a small handful of rap moguls, namely Drake, Diddy and Jay-Z (bear with me on this long post, I think/hope it will be worth it). At the end I talk briefly about how Little Foot Big Foot might be in this same vein of cultural compression.
[Intro: Choir]
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, go, go away
The beginning of this song has no background music yet, which really gives it an ‘in the beginning’ feel. Then Gambino starts doing his dances with weird facial expressions. I will explain as we go through his video how those expressions and dance moves represent different famous rap moguls. One easy look to pick out right away is Jay-Z’s famous lip curl/growl look that Gambino gives with a head nod repeatedly. The colonial pants have been a hot topic, but since it’s only the pants that are colonial, Gambino is saying the bottom or basis for this violent culture in America is ultimately colonialism. The lyrics ‘Go Away’, are likely foreshadowing the rap moguls wanting other popular rap rivals to ‘go away’ or they will make them (aka murder them) for profit.
[Bridge: Childish Gambino & Young Thug]
We just wanna party
Party just for you
We just want the money
Money just for you (Yeah)
Usually you want money for yourself and to party for yourself, so this is a bit odd. But what Gambino is referring to is similar to these Diddy ‘freakoff parties’ we are hearing about where people who want to be famous are really partying for these rap moguls so they can get close to them. Where they suck up to them saying that they want to earn the mogul money from their songs.
I know you wanna party
Party just for free
Girl, you got me dancin' (Girl, you got me dancin')
Dance and shake the frame (Yeah)
Then this almost feels like the Diddy rebuttal where he’s like ya I know you want to party and you want to do it for free. Like Katt Williams says, “you gotta tell Diddy no”, it is never free to go to those parties. There are always consequences. When you are partying you are dancing, but shaking the frame could refer to how those boundaries/edges are being crossed, lines are blurred, etc.
Then in the video, the fellow who was playing the guitar gets shot and things turn dark from happy music. I believe that this guitar tune is meant to represent 2Pac and Nas’s song Thugz Mansion. It’s one of the original greats from ‘in the beginning’. Nas famously has always had major issues with Jay-Z too (More on why 2Pac and Nas later). It also represents how it was these moguls who murdered 2Pac like Jaguar Wright and Katt Williams keep saying. Where these murders only lead to more money and fame for the killers when the dead artists’ and their music are exploited more easily.
Also note that the gun gets taken away by a school kid after the shooting, more on this later as well.
[Verse 1: Childish Gambino, Young Thug, Blocboy JB & 21 Savage]
This is America (Skrrt, skrrt, woo)
Don't catch you slippin' now (Ayy)
Look how I'm livin' now
Police be trippin' now (Woo)
Yeah, this is America (Woo, ayy)
Guns in my area (Word, my area)
There is a song called Guns in My Area by Lil Weiner and Baby Chapox that paints a vivid picture of the everyday struggles and conflicts faced by those living in communities affected by gun violence. More compression of other songs and the American gun culture.
I got the strap (Ayy, ayy)
I gotta carry 'em
I am almost certain this line is referring to 2Pac’s song Changes. Throughout This is America, Gambino takes lines from Pac’s song: “They get jealous when they see you with your mobile phone” (referred to later in this a Celly, that’s tool) “That's the sound of my tool, you say it ain't cool, My mama didn't raise no fool”
“And as long as I stay black, I gotta stay strapped, And I never get to lay back” It seems like Gambino broke up these lyrics and scattered them throughout his song. This plays into the theme that everyone is using 2Pac and enriching themselves off of his image and music. I show below how this particular section of the video represents Diddy meaning that Diddy himself is exploiting his music (and alleging that Diddy killed Pac?). We could see this exploitation play out at length with how much Diddy milked the death of Biggie like in Every Breath You Take.
Yeah, yeah, I'ma go into this (Ugh)
Yeah, yeah, this is guerilla (Woo)
Yeah, yeah, I'ma go get the bag
The song Gorilla War by $uicideboy$ and Ramirez talks about getting a bag repeatedly in the course. Also in Otis with Kanye and Jay-Z their lyrics talk about going gorilla (I talk about this song more further down), so it could be referring to this as well. It seems like Gambino is trying to pull out lyrics from all across the rap culture and embed them in his song to highlight the ‘cultural compression’.
Yeah, yeah, I'm so cold like, yeah (Yeah)
I'm so dope like, yeah (Woo)
We gon' blow like, yeah (Straight up, uh)
I think that all of the school kids in the video represent all of the rappers that are signed with these big labels. Which is interesting because they are the ones facilitating the guns for the moguls in the video. You can see that the mogul is really focused on the kids and gets agitated and directs them to follow him whenever they stray off a bit like they are his pupils, or like he owns them. Then all of a sudden the camera comes into a scene where you can see more kids shooting a rap video and all shooting money from a Supreme gun. The camera zooms out almost to show you that this is the mogul’s whole rap empire they are looking over, all of their kids in one place (this empire already includes some chaos in the background). It’s subtle but hilarious, Gambino puts fricken chickens on the ground where the kids are filming the rap video. He is directly calling all of these rappers complete chickens for playing up this lifestyle and being the cause of so much chaos rather than coming out and telling somebody what’s really going on. Trying to get their money over everything else.
[Refrain: Choir & Childish Gambino]
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, tell somebody
You go tell somebody
Grandma told me
Get your money, Black man (Get your— Black man)
This is where things start to get interesting. Gambino is literally saying, go tell somebody about this! We all know what’s happening, why don’t you go let people know how bad it is? But like Jaguar Wright said, who do you tell when these moguls have the cops and feds paid off? This video is literally Gambino putting it all out there in this extremely popular song for everyone to see but yet we still just see the dancing and the violent chaos of people and police in the streets and not the root cause that is hidden in plain sight.
The vast majority of those who reviewed this video until now think this scene represents the tragic church shooting in Charleston in 2015. I think it does, but we also have to look at this from an angle of compression.
The people in the choir are all of the people who are currently singing the rap mogul’s praises and who are focused on going and getting what’s owed to them, get their money (who are also profiting off of the dead fellows music since it goes back to the original tune). You can see that each choir member has a distinct look to them. Think about who you are hearing about now who is about to be implicated in these freak offs and evil deeds. Is that Will Smith in the back left corner!? The short bald fellow in the front left maybe Kevin Hart? Rick Ross or TD Jakes maybe the bigger guy towards the back right? When the camera zooms in on the choir right at first to show their faces, doesn’t the guy in the bottom middle look like an uncanny version of Jordan Peele? Or is that meant to be Cuba Gooding Jr? Then just like the guitar fellow at the beginning, bang. You may be singing Diddy’s praises now, but he will cut you down whenever he suddenly feels like it.
I think almost for sure this initial section of the music video is Gambino acting as Diddy, because right after he shoots the choir, he does the elbow pump/chicken dance. At 3:14 in Diddy’s video for P.E. 2000 he does the chicken dance (he is up first in the video and I think Gambino is trying to say here I first present to you the first public enemy of 3 in this song). That elbow dance signals that it was Diddy and this is the end of his section.
[Chorus: Childish Gambino, Young Thug, Slim Jxmmi & Quavo]
This is America (Woo, ayy)
Don't catch you slippin' now (Woo, woo, don't catch you slippin' now)
Don't catch you slippin' now (Ayy, woah)
Look what I'm whippin' now (Slime!)
There have been many accounts of celebrities being given fancy cars after suffering abuse at the hands of these moguls. So these lyrics are saying that you better not slip up and tell people what’s really going on. And if you don’t look at this sweet carecord deal/movie contract I am going to give you. Beiber told this story about Diddy wanting to give him a luxury car.
Now suddenly, the dance switches from the chicken dance to a sudden bicep flex to signal us that we have now moved on from Gambino representing Diddy to our next mogul.
[Verse 2: Childish Gambino, Quavo, Young Thug, 21 Savage & BlocBoy JB]
This next chunk of the video is all about Jay-Z. I think this is the case because he throws his arms up in a bicep flex just like Jay does in the Otis music video at 2:38. And it makes sense Gambino would pick a dance move from a video with a huge American flag in the background to fit the ‘This is America’ theme. Gambino is mocking him saying, who are you really, the pretty guy or this hard gangster like Gambino shows in his dancing. Also right before they pan to the kids on the balcony, Bino also does Jay-Z’s signature lip curl look a couple times so we know it’s him and to signal the end of his section.
Look how I'm geekin' out (Hey)
I'm so fitted (I'm so fitted, woo)
Jay-Z is famous for making the fitted Yankees cap famous, it’s his signature look. More signs this verse is about Jay.
I'm on Gucci (I'm on Gucci)
Jay-Z has been seen in full wallpaper Gucci sweat suits but could also be referring to Gucci Mane who he hung out with at Beyonce’s tour around the time this song was released.
I'm so pretty (Yeah, yeah, woo)
I'm gon' get it (Ayy, I'm gon' get it)
Watch me move (Blaow)
These lines are probably referring to Jay-Z having a hidden preference for men, especially with the way Gambino flicks his wrist in the video when he says I’m so pretty.
This a celly (Ha)
That's a tool (Yeah)
On my Kodak (Woo) Black
I think that “this a celly, that’s a tool” harkens back to 2Pac’s lyrics in Changes where he sings, “They get jealous when they see ya with your mobile phone” then shortly after that he sings about the sound of his tool, referring to shooting a gun. But Childish flips these lyrics on their head. He is saying that it’s really the phone that’s a tool to be using, not a gun. And pans up and shows (the school kids specifically) on the balcony filming everything going on below. He’s telling the kids/other rappers, use your phone as a tool, you can record these bad deeds when you get blackmailed into being at the freak off. That’s how you can kill them and their career, not with a gun. Go tell somebody! There is also the reference to Kodak which plays into the picture taking theme, but also because Kodak Black has been accused of assaulting a teenage girl in a hotel room. So we have a good idea of what Gambino suggests all the kids start filming and collecting evidence of.
Ooh, know that (Yeah, know that, hold on)
Get it (Woo, get it, get it)
Ooh, work it (21)
Now we are onto Drake’s part. In the video Gambino starts doing the BlocBoy JB dance called Shoot. Drake is known for doing these little viral dance moves like in Hotline Bling. But not only that, this dance is also used in the song that both BlocBoy JB and Drake collaborate on for their video Look Alive. It starts at 2:07 in the Look Alive video. So this is Drake’s dance to signal his part is now starting.
Note this is where the pale horse rides by also potentially saying that Drake is one of the horsemen of the apocalypse. Interestingly, Drake’s collab with BlocBoy JB was pretty much the apocalypse for BlocBoy’s career, who hasn’t had a hit since.
Hunnid bands, hunnid bands, hunnid bands (Hunnid bands)
Contraband, contraband, contraband (Contraband)
I got the plug in Oaxaca (Woah)
They gonna find you like "blocka" (Blaow)
Again, we know this is Drake’s section because his song 10 bands starts out by saying “10 bands, 50 bands, 100 bands” almost identical to Bino’s lyrics here. Also Blocka was famously used by Biggie in his song Gimme the Loot which could be referring to Biggie's demise like Pac’s and making money from his death. Everything in this industry originates from pushing drugs, which has been alleged through the trafficking that Diddy, Jay-Z and Drake do through their private jets likely connected to their bosses, the Clive Davises and Lucian Grainges of the world. This escalates rap beefs and the whole culture to the next level where murder is often a consequence for young rappers in their prime when international drug lord money is involved.
An interesting point is this is the only time where Childish was about to shoot someone in the video, but where he didn’t have a school kid either handing him the gun or taking it away carefully from him. (Maybe also a diss at Drake that even though he acts hard he doesn’t shoot, he gets his horseman of the apocalypse to do his dirty deeds for him instead perhaps?). This is the beginning of the end for the rap mogul as he no longer has his kids doing his bidding for him. A simple message to show how the violence can be stopped, that these shootings can end when the kids stop enabling them. So then as soon as he can’t react in that moment and shoot someone his anger is forced to chill out, as shown by smoking a J, and to go back to exploiting the dead man’s music instead. If you don’t put a gun in someone’s hand when they are heated, those feelings too shall pass - kinda feel.
[Refrain: Choir, Childish Gambino, & Young Thug]
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, tell somebody
America, I just checked my following list, and
You mothafuckas owe me
Whose voice does that sound like!? It sounds a lot like Diddy to me, public enemy #1. This is basically saying that the moguls are the ones who we all owe it to for all of this glorified gun violence in America. That we owe them way more follows and likes for what a massive influence they have had on the violence and chaos we see in America today.
Grandma told me
Get your money, Black man (Black man)
(1, 2, 3—get down)
In Moneybagg Yo’s song 1, 2, 3, he also has a line that says “1, 2, 3, let’s go!” in a similar vein.
But something interesting I came across was Nas’s song Get Down where they use a sample from James Brown's “The Boss” that sounds extremely similar to the way Gambino screams “Get Down!” Which would fit well if the guitar singer from the beginning is meant to be Nas and Pac doing Thugz Mansion.
Also make sure you check out Nas’s song Get Down so that you can hear how much Jay-Z outright copied this song for The Story of OJ. From the musical structure with the piano and interwoven samples right down to the theme reiterated by the sample at the end of Nas’s song: “If that’s how our people are gonna get down, how are we ever gonna get up?”
SZA
Finally to wrap up the video, I have been stumped for a long time as to why SZA is randomly at the end of this video sitting on one of the cars. But I think I finally know why and it reconfirms that this last scene is all about Drake. If you watch Drake’s music video for Worst Behavior (not very Canadian of him to spell behaviour that way I might add) you will see Drake rapping and dancing with a few cars surrounding him and one of those cars has other rappers making cameos in it. In Gambino’s video SZA represents that car with a famous cameo. I think this is further confirmed when the black edges of the video start closing inwards at the end of This is America, the exact same way that Worst Behavior ends. So why SZA as the cameo then? Cause it reminds people that Drake is a p*do.
This is from an article in the Rolling Stone: In 2020, Drake revealed publicly that he and SZA had dated over a decade ago, well before she was an established artist (her earliest music goes back to around 2012; her critical breakthrough, Ctrl, came in 2017). On 21 Savage’s “Mr. Right Now,” Drake rapped about a newer fling who was a fan of SZA’s: “Yeah, said she wanna fuck to some SZA, wait / ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08 / If you cool with it, baby, she can still play.” A few days later, SZA responded, corroborating Drake’s claim with a slight correction: they dated in 2009, when both would have been over 18. Since SZA would not have turned 18 until late 2008, she wanted to set the record straight. “in this case a year of poetic rap license mattered 🥴lol I think he jus innocently rhymed 08 w wait [sic],” she tweeted. “I just didn’t want anybody thinking anything underage or creepy was happening . Completely innocent . Lifetimes ago . [sic]”
If you have to specifically say something isn’t creepy and distance yourself from it being lifetimes ago, it usually is creepy. Drake would’ve been 22 when she was 17. Metro Boomin also happens to be on the Mr. Right Now track. He is currently in trouble for resurfaced old tweets showing how Metro used to tweet disgusting things about what he wanted to do to underage girls. Interestingly, Metro Boomin is also now beefing with Drake.
Drake doing his dance on the car of the original musician’s music seems to be accusing Drake directly of stealing 2Pac’s music. Orlando Brown recently said the cryptic statement that “Drake is Pac” which likely means he stole 2Pac’s approach/style/audience after his death. Gambino did some good foreshadowing here too with the recent AI release Drake put out of 2Pac.
This dance scene also signals that the Drake section is now over.
[Outro: Young Thug]
You just a black man in this world
You just a barcode, ayy
You just a black man in this world
Drivin' expensive foreigns, ayy
You just a big dawg, yeah
I kenneled him in the backyard
No, probably ain't life to a dog
For a big dog
The outro lyrics speak to how these gatekeepers keep black men down and control them with things like being forced to wear a dress to become famous or to submit to homosexual/p*do acts.. In the video, as I mentioned above, the black edges close in on Drake’s dancing scene in This is America. But they don’t completely close and end things like they do in the Worst Behavior video. Instead, in Gambino’s video, the camera pans to show the mogul running for his life with Young Thug’s lyrics almost like a quiet echo in the background. He isn’t running from the cops though, he’s running from the kids and from the public. When I mentioned earlier that the kids not handing over the last gun before Drake’s scene signalled the beginning of the end for the moguls, this is that conclusion. Where it is showing that if all the kids come together to stop enabling and rather expose the moguls, people will be chasing these bastards down once we realize what has been going on behind the curtain. Then the song that Young Thug is singing can just be a quiet echo of the way things were in the past.
If you don’t think Gambino would be this deep and that I went too far down the rabbit hole, do a Google search on the calculations that he came up with for why he sings about loving until 3005 in his song. He seems to go real deep with his lyrics. So a big question this leaves us with is, what did Childish Gambino witness in the rap industry? His whole rap career plays out like he is trying to avoid industry norms.
Even in Sweatpants, he has lyrics like:
No hands like soccer teams and y'all fuck boys like Socrates
You niggas ain't coppin' these, niggas ain't lookin' like me (Nah)
Nah, I ain't checkin' I.D. (Nah), but I bounce 'em with no problem
Seems like he is trying to make it really clear across his catalogue of music that he isn’t a p*do but that other rappers are. Where he is saying that he doesn’t need to ID his potential partners because he can tell they are obviously too young and that’s not hard to do.
Tell 'em, Problem (Problem!)
I'm winnin', yeah, yeah, I'm winnin' (What?)...
Rich kid, asshole, paint me as a villain
So who was trying to paint him as a villain, Drake? And that’s why the diss was originally meant for him?
Don't be mad 'cause I'm doing me better than you doing you…
Better than you doing you
Fuck it, what you gon' do? (What?!)
He’s taunting the other rappers cause he knows they can’t say shit if they are creeps. He has the same sentiment in Bonfire “It’s a bonfire, turn the lights out, I’m burning everything you mother fuckers talk about.”
Childish Gambino has always refrained from talking about the meaning of This is America whenever he is asked, and I can only assume that all of this is why.
Little Foot Big Foot
Now with his new release, Little Foot Big Foot and applying cultural compression to it, it has me wondering if he is referring to Megan Thee Stallion and the Nicki beef? People like Nicki (calling Megan Big Foot) have been claiming for some time she wasn’t even shot in the foot by Tory Lanez. There were many people laughing and making fun of Megan over getting shot. Which could be an interesting story for Childish to tell to represent how crazy this violent culture has gotten that people just laugh and blame the victim now when you get shot. Also a good metaphor for things like ‘shooting yourself in the foot’ for not having a lawyer look over potentially predatory industry contracts like in the beginning of his video. That you want to get in the cool kids club so bad you overlook it. Not as sure on this one though since the song just came out and I have only heard it a few times.
One last thing that is really interesting, there have been tons of artists on podcasts like Shay Shay talking about the strings these ultra rich moguls can pull. Like buying awards or gatekeeping people from being in the industry at all. There was even a story, I think maybe it was Gene Deal who told it, that when Killer Mike won at the grammys that Jay-Z was so angry he made sure to mess up his night by getting him locked up as soon as he left the awards stage. These moguls are extremely powerful and have an incredible amount of sway in the world/industry. If you check out Gambino’s profile on Youtube, his old music videos keep getting taken down, like Bonfire for example is just gone. Fans have been having to upload the videos themselves. There is a reply to a comment, on one of the fan uploaded vids, from Gambino’s account himself when someone asks why the videos are being taken down. His account just replies “Noone knows why :(“ Seems a bit odd all things considered and like maybe he has been at the mercy of these gatekeepers for going against the system.
I am so curious to know what the rest of you think about all of this!

2024.05.14 23:24 LiaCee Dropping nap while in daycare?

Kind of a rant but also any advice would be great so tagging as question.
This is long .. sorry. I'm in a mental spiral and a bit all over the place right now
Scanned for dropping naps here and found some super useful tips around the ultimate end game no nap life (shout out to this recent post)
But it's daycare that's my problem really, not the dropped nap.. they're not having any part of him not napping unless he's on best behavior it seems.
maybe I'm just blinded by my child but I feel like that is a lot to expect from a 2.5 year old and there should be some sort of middle ground or game plan or something ... Seriously, call me out if I'm off here.
My son has been in this center since he was 9months old. The director knows him well, she was a lead teacher and AD during his time there before her current role. The staff all know he is high energy, always been on the lower end of the sleep scale and have always been good with him. Recently they had a big move up, so the class is at max (18 kids) and with this self decided nap dropping my son has been 50/50 angel or a monster without his nap.. ( side note here, yes we've had some testing done. his pediatrician doesn't believe he has any behavioral issues, just on the more energetic side of normal.)
Over the past week he has decided fully against any naps and is either passing out hard at around 4/5pm ish or staying up and over tired for his usual bed time of 8pm and fighting it pushing himself to almost 9.
Last week I had to pick him up twice because he was "too altered" (language barrier and the translation doesn't always come across clear but taking this to mean he's just gotten to be too much). So last week Monday he was fine, and did take a short 45min nap. Tuesday I was asked to pick him up around 3, Wednesday he had no nap and no problems were noted. Thursday they noted problems but that he settled after snack and playground time and Friday we again had to get him early, they called a little after 3.
Normal pick up is right around 5:15, Fridays my husband gets out early and picks him up by 4:30.
Yesterday we didn't send him in at all. Wasn't going to even bother. he passed out sunday around 6pm and wouldn't wake, then was up at 3am ready to take on the world and around 7:30am started getting fussy so husband and I each took a half day and split duty.
He napped about 30min in the car when I had to bring him with me on an errand for work but still went to bed at normal time with a slight fight but not bad, he was out cold by 8:30pm
Today they called me almost immediately after nap time (1:30pm) because he wouldn't nap, was removed from the room. They brought him back after everyone was asleep and let him watch videos (..ok, I get it) but when the other kids started waking up he was "riding tables and causing disturbance" So I again had go get him. Thankfully my boss is pretty understanding and has a toddler who they just started in day care so he gets it for the most part.. but I can't keep this up.
How the heck do I make this work with day care if he is truly ready to drop a nap?
When he went to one nap going into the older toddler room he was grumpy but not awful and 95% of the time he'd power nap on the 15-20 minute (PM traffic here is a nightmare) ride home. sometimes a few min longer and id use the time to sit in the car and catch up on emails and things until he'd wakeup/I woke him up, we go inside, have dinner, play, tub, bed no problem. That doesn't work now.
I just honestly don't know what to do.
We have no family here no friends that can watch him .. we both need to work. Just ...ugh

2024.05.14 23:22 Jakeultron308 Charon reflects the Nataku Bomb calc

Charon reflects the Nataku Bomb calc
Fire Force Episode 17, Charon Reflects some type of bomb or energy that splits clouds and im surprised nobody calced this at all so i thought it'd be fun to do it myself.
Clip/Scan 1
As the Clip Above shows everything. but ill only be calcing the Speed, Cloud vaporization and Charon's durability from the explosion below. Because those are the necessary Things to calc here.
Scan 2
The clouds here look like cumulus (they look flat) but the cloud type isn't really going to matter that much since the whole Cloud wasn't even close to being Vaporized.
Low Cloud Altitude = 2000m/2km
2xTan(70Deg/2)xDistance from POVxObject or anything Size in Pixels/Panel or Frame Height in Pixels (result is diameter in m)
2xTan(70Deg/2)x2000x229/809 = 792.81842398
Diameter: = 792.81842398m
Radius: = 396.409212m
Height: 172px/595.479340282m
Were gonna use the cylinder volume
Volume: 293970700.9364m^3
Mass of cumulonimbus Liquid Water Content (g/m3) = 1-3
1 KG/M^3 = 0.001 G/CM^3
or 3000kg m^3
Affected Cloud mass: 8.819121028e+11 KG
latent heat of vaporization for water = 2264705 J/kg
Energy output: 1.9972707e+18 Joules/ 477.35915392 Megatons of TNT or Mountain level+
now its time to calc the speed then The explosion calc.
The Beam decreased its size to that of a mere bullet and travel from ground level to the moons surface in 495 frames
Fire force (or atleast the video from youtube in stats for nerds) is in 30FPS
495/30 = 16.5 seconds. now for the distance
Scan 3 (Source: Royal Museums Greenwich)
From the clip, the Moon looks like its Perigee but we'll calc both distances while also adding the distance of a Low altitude satellite (past the earth's thermosphere) onto the moon distance with the Time (Time/Distance)
Distance: 363,271 KM (perigee)
Speed: 22016424.2 M/S (Sub-Relativistic++)
Distance 2: 405,863 KM (apogee)
Speed 2: 24597757.6 M/S (Sub-Relativistic++)
Final Speed result: (Sub-Relativistic++)
Scan 4
Green line: 77px/29.29773947m (Proof)
0.380490123 m/px
Cyan line: 164px/62.40038017m
Explosion diameter: 62.40038017m
Explosion Radius: 31.20019008m
W = R^3x((27136xP+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2
where W is the yield in tons of TNT, R is the radius in meters, and P is the shockwave pressure in bars, where we generally use 1.37895 bars or 20 psi of pressure. For this specific formula, there is no need to divide the result by 2.
31.20019008^3x((27136x1.37895+8649)^(1/2)/13568-93/13568)^2 = 2.44094073379
2.44094073379 Tons of TNT/Large Building level+
Conclusion: The feat is Mountain level+/477.35915392 Megatons of TNT And Charon Has Large Building level+ durability (Far higher since this is Season 1) and attack speed of Sub-Relativistic++.

2024.05.14 23:12 one_day_at_noon The child I raised told me I’ll never understand what it’s like to be a mother

TRIGGER WARNINGS: a lot of them
My sister was an irresponsible teen mom with mental illness. To sum it up she would get pregnant any time a boyfriend and her were in trouble of breaking up.
This process started when I was 13. She promptly abandoned the baby to my parents who were in their early 40s and gave 0Fs. They put taking care of the baby completely on me, because “she only sleeps for you”, “you’re such a good babysitter!”, “I just can’t now!”. So my sister would take off for months and leave the baby, my parents would take off for days and leave us. I’d go to school, come home, and care for an infant. By the time I was 21 my sister had repeated the process 2 more times. She’d spend perhaps a two weeks every year with her children so she could illegally file for child support and food stamps.
The rest of the time? I raised her children. I was the sole provider for my family. My 3 nieces and my 2 now disabled parents. Every dollar I made went to giving the girls a blessed life. I dropped out of college to take care of them and started a small business. Every day from the time I woke up to till bedtime baths and stories, I was caring for them. When they were sick? I took them to the hospital. I taught them to read, write, bath, walk, talk. (Due to poverty and issues with my parents I was never able to file for custody- aunts don’t have rights in most states even though my sister had abandoned them, my parents refused to file for custody in any way- it was, a mess, but I stayed for them).
In time tragedy stuck, my sister began blackmailing us to keep the children. It was a disaster I was too naive and young to see coming. At 14, after returning for visiting her mum, my niece attempted suicide (I wasn’t aware she had been abused while with her mum). I had to BRIBE her mother to stay with her in the hospital because the hospital refused to allow me to stay with her. I took her to therapy but her mom insisted she be removed and she still had rights. Her school thought it was a result of bullying.
Years later while with their mother for 4 days, my sister hit my niece. It was caught on video, my nieces were taken by CPS, and because they were across state lines at the time I had to fight the legal system to get them placed with me. It took 3 years, $60k, and it bankrupted me. I made weekly trips to see my eldest niece in foster care. Across state lines this was nearly 800 a week for 3 years.
My sister surrendered my other nieces to their father and blackmailed me to keep fighting to get her own children back with the promise of finally signing over rights. Eventually she got my eldest niece back. She convinced the girl to stay with her so “she could be a real mom!”. Cps said she wanted to go with her mum and so my family placement case was closed. She lived with her a year. That ended HORRIFICALLY. In the end my sister SOLD her paternal rights to my parents to allow my niece to come home and live with us. The trauma from my sister and the system had broken my niece. My niece admitted her mum had been abusive nearly every time they’d ever seen eachother (even exposing her to drugs and during that year to being SAed) but she had never told me out of the hope someday her mum would really love her. Even with therapy she was so broken. She hurt herself again and again. I went half mad unable to help her, depression was overwhelming. Every other day we were at the hospital or therapist. Every month she’d be hospitalized for a suicide attempt and I’d sit with her in the hospital holding her hand while we waited. I’d excuse myself to hide in the hospital bathroom and sob I unable to help her.
So many ambulances, so many medicines, so many doctors, so many 4am phone calls, so many horrors. Eventually she refused medication and started using drugs. I begged her to go to rehab, I tried so hard to help her and support her in every way I could. Her life was spiraling. She became pregnant and addicted to meth, she became violent and unstable. It was a horrifying year. Eventually, after she assaulted a cop, I told her enough. She had to stop. I wouldn’t support her anymore. She would go to rehab or she was no longer welcomed in my home.
She was 18. She left and went to live with a new boyfriend. Eventually she got clean with him, lost rights to her baby with CPS involvement and got pregnant again refusing to consider birth control implants. After she got clean she began speaking to me again. I’m struggling with her pregnancy as I know she’s not fully recovered, nor stable enough to raise a child, nor mature. But I am proud she is clean and trying to gather herself together again, even if she won’t go to rehab/therapy as I’ve begged. The other day we were driving and she said this:
“You will never understand what it’s like to be a mother. I knew the moment I had my baby (the one she lost due to meth use) it’s just completely different connection. You’re JUST an aunt. You have no idea what it’s like to be a mother, you’ve never had kids and never will” and something in me just split in 2. I told her I never want to silence her emotions or invalidate her opinions but I needed a bit of silence and didn’t want to speak the rest of the trip. I dropped her at her apt, went home and cried. I’m in my mid 30s now and I’ve spent 20 years taking care of another woman’s children (minus the years my poor niece spent in foster care). So much tragedy. I blame myself completely for not knowing my sister was hurting my eldest niece, it’s my fault my nieces were lost. My fault they suffered. When they were lost I went to therapy to handle the grief. I couldn’t look at a child without sobbing. I realized I would never have my own children. I’ve never recovered from losing my nieces, never forgiven myself for their suffering. I failed them so terribly. My fiancé has watched this all (we met shortly after my nieces were taken) when I began applying for family placement I made it very clear if my niece came home she came first and was living with me and he’d have to deal with it. Later, we talked about never having kids because of the trauma. He’s held me most nights I’ve come home from the hospital in shambles just sobbing in the floor. When I told him what she said he was very upset (he’s had to handle her drug use and criminal behavior as well and it has NOT been easy on him). He’s tried to console me but it’s been months and I think about it every day.
Her words just haunt me. She isn’t wrong, I’m not her mother and never will be, even though I’ve raised her since I was 13 and she was an infant. And now I know I simply will never have children. I feel hollow.

2024.05.14 23:05 18YEAROLDARC I'm 19 and I am fixated on this girl online and I don't know what do..

I am 19, eh I met this girl a year ago. We met my freshmen year of college and I met her from a video game online. I never experienced love or dated and I was 18 at the time so I said to myself I am ready to be open arms to the world. Things went well as a talking stage until last valentines , when I found out she was liking some other guy online. I was never really afraid to talk about it because it was online and my constant paranoia and her dishonesty led us to fall apart since I was always on edge when she spoke to me, always paranoid why she is speaking. Months after everything was sinking, she blocked me without question and I was constantly ghosted so I just took the sign this was short-lived and she never really wanted me, just the attention.
Months later, from another mutual friend online, they said she wanted to see me again multiple times. I wasn't taking it because I heard when my friend answered to her that I didn't want to see her, then she replied : "Ah well, I hope he cried well when I abandoned him". I then almost a month ago, I decided to contact her because I heard that not too long after she said that, she tried to see me two more times. And I contacted again to see if it was true, why still contact and we spoke again. She spoke about how she thought about me, how she miss me, I said the same back but she also started to ask if I was single or in a relationship because she said she is single.
Anyways, eh, she said she was scared of love and relationships so I said, ok that is fine with me, and I guess she wants to be my friend and contact with me still. And I didn't know until recently, but she is entertaining and in a talking stage with someone in real life. I found out myself by digging a bit and when I confronted her about it since she told me she is scared of love. She tells me that it's none of my business, how I need to leave her alone, how we never were close..
I am just stumped.. I came back to get my answers if she really liked me. How she is in life, and I feel like now since day 1 when I met them, I was used for attention.. I broke out an argument against text to keep asking why if she ever cared or loved me in the first place because how she used to speak to me about meeting and caring and our families. But she ended up saying give it up and sleeping.

What do I do? I have friends but I don't speak much so I don't have much around to speak to about it..
Some advice would be nice, what do I do.. she is still in my contact and she is giving me cold turkey after I call her out asking me about my relationship status yet when I ask, the tables are flipped on me and apparently I am crazy for caring to ask about their status in depth. I just wanted to know, because right now I am treated less than a friend. Like strictly on the video game friend, we don't have each others socials anymore either.. Just contact through a video game.
She keeps insisting I block her during the argument, if I don't believe what she says about her caring for me and scared of love. But I am always on guard because this is online, and I just want to know if they are okay still, I think as a friend.. but I am given cold turkey but she keeps asking me to stay and she wants to keep me but I am treated less as a person since what happened. Do I trust my gut and accept shes entertaining and talking with others? Or do I stick as a friend and trust her, I don't know.

A huge thank you to the lovely u/invader_holly who suggested the idea, and that I run this game here! 💕
How does it work?
Each day, I'll reshare this board. With each day is a new pro. Similarly to past games I've done like Dances of the Seasons, The Dancing with the Stars Alphabet, Favourite Dances Per Style, and The Pros' Most Memorable Dances, for every day, you can all comment a response. This time, the response would be a quote from the respective pro for that day! As with previous games, the comment with the most upvotes wins. At the end, I'll put together a video compilation together!
MAKE SURE THAT IF YOU WANT TO SUGGEST NUMEROUS QUOTES, DO THEM EACH IN A SEPERATE COMMENT. THE COMMENT WITH THE MOST UPVOTES WINS AND IS ADDED TO THE BOARD. IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE TRY AND ADD WHEN THE PRO SAYS THE QUOTE (SO I CAN FIND THE CLIP TO ADD TO THE VIDEO COMPILATION).
Yesterday's round was won by u/HornetWest4950 's suggestion!

Batman: Arkham Asylum was quite possibly one of the greatest action-adventure superhero video games of 2000’s. The 2000’s was a decade where video game genres like fighting and shooters thrived and superhero games were not really getting a ton of mainstream attention. One of the reasons why Batman: Arkham Asylum became very popular was because it came out a year following the release of the critically acclaimed Batman: The Dark Knight movie from 2008. The Dark Knight had earned more than $1 billion in box office revenue since its release and was one of the reasons why Batman became very popular again between the late 2000’s-early 2010’s. Batman: Arkham Asylum was published by Eidos Interactive along with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by Rocksteady Studios. Batman: Arkham Asylum had an intriguing story that saw the Joker along with Harley Quinn as the main villains within the story. Arkham Asylum was considered to be a masterpiece that was ahead of its time similar to how the Marvel’s Spider-Man for PS4 was back in 2018. Batman: Arkham Asylum had almost everything one could ask for in an action-adventure game including amazing graphics, fluid combat, dark atmosphere along with detective mechanics which added an extra layer of realism to the gameplay. It should also be noted that Batrman: Arkham Asylum featured numerous other popular DC villains including Scarecrow, Poison Ivy, Bane, Killer Croc, Catwoman, Riddler and Deathstroke.
Arkham Asylum looked significantly better than previous action-adventure Batman titles that came out during the PS2/Xbox era of 2000’s including Batman: Vengeance and Batman Begins from ’01-’05. Arkham Asylum has been seen by many people as one of the most influential action-action adventure titles of all-time in relation gameplay. In fact, the stealth elements in Arkham Asylum heavily inspired Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Spider-Man games from ’18 and ’23. Some critics would even go as far as to claim that Batman: Arkham Asylum was high profile 3D metroidvania game that exceeded their expectations. Batman: Arkham Asylum was arguably one of the best video games to have come out of 2009 along with the likes of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, League of Legends and Assassin’s Creed II. Even though, Batman: Arkham Asylum is almost two decades old and fifteen years later its still an action-adventure masterpiece.

How To Handle Teenager Sneaking Out?

5 Ways Parents Can Find Out If A Teen Sneaks Out

Did you know many troubled boys and adventurous girls often sneak out at night to socialize with friends? Although sneaking out of the house in the middle of the night isn’t the worst behavior it certainly is a potentially dangerous one. But before you start researching a military school or therapeutic boarding school for your boisterous teenager, it is important to remain calm. Troubled teen boys and girls who are under the age of 18 and who exhibit bad behavior by sneaking out certainly need a little more parental attention. That goes without saying. But what can concerned parents do to make sure children and teens are staying safe at home at night? This article addresses the 5 best ways parents can stop any teenager from sneaking out and how to catch your teen the moment they do!

5 Tips for Dealing with Sneaky Teenagers

How To Catch Your Teenager Sneaking Out

First of all, it’s illegal for children and teens under 18 to be out late at night as most states have curfew laws. That means there can be real consequences for sneaking out at night regardless of teen peer pressure. These consequences for sneaking out can come in the form of fines, and of course, the more scary potential consequences of being a naive teen wandering the streets late at night. The reality is many teens often want to do things they are not allowed, especially if they’re told they can’t. Making matters more challenging for parents, apps such as TikTok and Instagram give teens an easy outlet to communicate with friends to secretly plan a coordinatedtime to sneak out and meet up. In fact, there are numerous Reddit threads and YouTube videos that are specifically aimed at providing info to teens on the best ways to sneak out without getting caught! This is the reason if you are a parent and you want to catch your teen sneaking out then we have you covered!

1. Track Your Teen's Car

https://spacehawkgps.com/products/best-hidden-gps-tracker-for-car
One of the best ways to shape your teens' behavior in a positive way is through the use of a GPS tracking device. GPS vehicle trackers offer a simple way for you to know if a teen tells the truth about their driving behaviors and where they are going. And although a GPS tracking system on your child’s vehicle can't stop them from sneaking out at night, you will have the ability to know when they did sneak out and where they went!

2. Communicate With Your Teen

https://preview.redd.it/2yexrgz2fg0d1.jpg?width=1792&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fa64cd8d50a549b11e03e6515c507a4cb71ea541
If you’re a concerned parent who has already caught their child sneaking out of the house at night, one of the first emotions felt is likely anger and distrust. This is why it is critical that you try to remain calm. Start by framing the conversation so that you convey to your teenager that you understand the need for expanded freedoms. Talk with them honestly about healthy and positive ways they can exhibit they’re ready to have additional freedoms. If things are progressing in the right direction after this, consider coming up with a fair plan to extend curfew as your teen gets older and shows with consistency they can be responsible.

3. Install Motion Sensor Lights

If you caught your teen sneaking out and want to prevent them from doing it again consider installing alarms on your doors and potentially windows. Motion sensor lights with cameras can illuminate and record the perimeter of your home, making it easy to document when a teen tries to sneak out. In fact, this type of security is commonplace in boarding schools for troubled teens as well as treatment centers for teenage boys and girls. However, most modern teens are very tech-savvy and likely have the technical knowledge and know-how to turn these security devices off. Therefore, motion sensor lights, Ring alarm systems, and other video surveillance are probably best suited for younger children who wander.

4. Hide The Car Keys At Night

Sometimes the simplest answer is the easiest answer and that is why parents who want to stop teens from sneaking out should hide the family car keys at night. Be proactive by hiding the spare set of keys and make sure to never leave any keys hanging on a hook so that anyone in the house can find them. Teenagers who have their own car keys should turn in their vehicle keys to you every night.

5. Location Tracking Mobile Apps

If your teens refuse to have a GPS tracking device in their car and simply aren't being cooperative, one way to move forward is with tracking apps for iPhone or Android devices. Location apps will allow parents to know where their teen is located 24/7, giving parents an additional sense of personal security. Although GPS apps are great they do have one significant problem, and that is many teens are smart enough to remove the apps or turn their mobile phones off to stop parents from tracking them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do house rules help prevent sneaky behaviors?

Yes, establishing clear house rules is an effective way to prevent sneaky behaviors. By setting expectations and consequences, you create a structured environment for your teenager. This helps them understand the boundaries and potential risks of their actions. Reinforcing the importance of these rules will encourage responsible decision-making.

How can behavior charts assist in managing risky behaviors?

Absolutely! Behavior charts are a useful tool in monitoring and addressing your teenager's risky behaviors. By tracking their actions and progress, you can better understand their motivations and work together to improve their decision-making. Additionally, behavior charts can provide a visual representation of consequences and rewards, promoting accountability and responsibility.

Is it necessary to consider treatment programs for teenagers who frequently sneak out?

In some cases, yes. If your teenager's sneaking out becomes a persistent problem or is accompanied by other concerning behaviors, such as oppositional defiant disorder, it may be beneficial to explore treatment programs. Residential treatment centers, for example, provide a structured environment and professional support to help your teenager overcome challenges and develop healthier habits.

Can the teenage brain contribute to a teenager's inclination to sneak out?

Yes, the teenage brain is indeed a contributing factor. The teenage brain undergoes significant development, which can result in impulsive decision-making and risk-taking behaviors. Understanding the teenage brain's development can help you empathize with your child and provide guidance tailored to their unique needs.

How can online parenting resources help when dealing with a sneaking teenager?

Online parenting resources, such as articles, forums, and webinars, can provide valuable insights and strategies for handling a sneaking teenager. These resources often share experiences from other parents and expert advice from professionals, offering a wealth of information to help you navigate the challenges of parenting a teenager who is sneaking out. Don't hesitate to reach out through contact forms or online communities to seek support and advice from others in similar situations.

2024.05.14 22:42 MissingMilkCartonKid Rant on Frustration of the Current Meta by a New(ish) Player

I started playing Marvel Snap on Feb 11th of this year (day of the Super Bowl) and have played it everyday since. I've completed every daily mission, bought & completed every season pass since then (I started on the Black Swan season), and have grown to collection level 3,070 using my gold to buy more daily missions and having bought the occasional bundle. I'm still missing around 18 Series 3 cards and a whole bunch of Series 4 & 5 cards. My ladder peak is 95 though I usually sit in the 80s until late seasons when I try to push as far as I can go (hoping for Infinite this season). Needless to say, I love this game and have enjoyed it more than any digital card game or mobile game. Even though I'm currently frustrated, I still love it and play it every day.
All of that being said, this most recent update has greatly influenced the games I play and I'm honestly not sure what to do to counter it. Leech's drop to a 4-Cost has made most decks that I run kinda useless. Destroy is shot, Discard is shot, my On-Reveal/Wong variations are all pretty gone. Then Klaw's buff has made Ongoing decks really popular, leading to Enchantress being in damn near every game I play. Mix this with Ultron bots getting double power, the rise in Patriot/Ultron decks was glaringly apparent over the weekend. Then, to counter Ultron decks, the rise in popularity of Professor X Shutdown style decks is rampant. It's just a mess.
Obviously everything I'm saying isn't news, from comments I've seen online and videos made by various content creators, I'm not alone in this. But for the first time in my albeit short stint of playing, it feels like every single game I play is one of 3 or 4 decks. I broke a personal record this weekend by building out & playing 9 different decks (mostly those I found online but i did create a few of my own) and I feel that none of them could provide me with consistent play - not even wins.
The amount of times Leech would strip me of any possibilities was often, the amount of times I would use Wave to try to get out a single On Reveal card before the inevitable Leech play only for them to Cosmo my play beforehand (probably trying to prevent a Leech themselves). I haven't had a consistent game since the OTA last week.
I don't mean to complain so much, like I said I still love the game. This is just the first time since I started playing that I genuinely don't enjoy most of the games I play. I don't care about winning as much as I care about enjoying the play. There's nothing better than playing the absolute best strategy, the perfect sequence of moves for your deck, thinking you're going to absolutely win, only for your opponent to play something wild and crazy and sweep the win out from you (except of course, narrowly winning your self in the same fashion). I would take good matches with 40% win rate over boring, redundant matches with 80% win rate any day of the week.
Sorry for the rant, I just didn't know where to voice my opinion. Figured I'd yell into the blank void that is the internet. I'll get over all of this in the next 2-3 days but for now I'll just try as many different decks as I can.
TL;DR - Leech's buff, mixed with various other buffs and tweaks has reduced the number of decks i encounter in matches to a very limited number and I feel that the gameplay itself is really suffering. I'm a newer player so it's the first time I've encountered this cycle of boring, redundant games.

2024.05.14 22:31 Few-Comfortable-6120 Son struggles with social skills

Hi all! My son (18) is a senior in high school. We are starting to realize late there may be some undiagnosed ADHD and are pursing private testing. I just got notes back from his teachers and there are comments from several about his social skills - not being able to work well with peers, being antagonistic and sarcastic. They note he seems generally happy, and I would agree with that from what I see. Since I never see him with friends or school mates, this is news to me. I mean, he has a small group of friends he texts, stays after school to hang with, plays video games with on weekends. He jokes around in a way that is quirky for sure, we notice it at home too. But it’s hurting my heart to think maybe his high school experience wasn’t great and he was perhaps rejected by many of his peers. How do we help him before he goes off to college? I don’t want his college social experience to be a repeat of high school.
