In light of recent blockout proposed by kpop stans to unfollow / disengage with artists who have not voiced concern about Palestine or have ties to the apartheid state, I wanna put some light on people that should be our main focus during this event.
After seeing Fatou, Suho, Chuu, Kevin, Jonghyun, BM and so many other idols talk about Palestine, I'm starting to believe the veil of ''idols can't speak up'' has fallen.

1. Lisa of Blackpink, dating the son of the LVMH owner. There's no argument against this, she's decided to associate herself with that family and knows the implications of doing so. Frederic has the money, power and authority to stand up against what is wrong, this isn't a wattpad story where he's bound by to stay hush-hush to protect the family business or some other crap. He will soon own a company that will fund the majority of the bombs that are crashing down in Rafah. If you argue and say ''its not her, its her boyfriend!'' then I think you should sit down and compare this with the Hyuna debacle. Same exact concept here.
2. Siwon from Super Junior. A proud zionist and trump supporter. Need I say more?
3. I.M of Monsta X, who lived in Israel when he was young for a couple years. He doesn't consider it his hometown or where he is ''from'', but he has publicly recognised his appreciation for the country. We cannot determine which side he supports from one statement, but it should be made clear that if he could talk about Israel before he can do it again. It's a fact about him that people outside of the fandom are aware about, and tbh I feel like he's one person who is obliged to speak up about it.
4. Hybe, especially Hybe America which is controlled by the violent zionist Scooter Braun. There was also that Yunjin Starbucks thing a couple months back. Stay away from all Hybe content, I can't put all the artists at fault but as they are the public outlet and money makers, we have to boycott them.
5. JYP, same thing as above. Jin Young Park is heavily on Israel's side and does alot of fishy cult things so not to be trusted anyways. JYP artists have also done multiple Coca Cola collabs. Again, I can't put the blame on the artists, especially after seeing SKZ Felix apologise for drinking Cola and searching up the reasoning behind the boycott while he was live. But unfortunately as the company's publicly known artists they have to be boycotted.
6. Eric Nam, at the end of last year he liked a Zionist's post and did an ''all lives matter'' style statement about it. Instead of addressing it again after backlash-, he just cancelled some tour dates and pretending nothing happened.

Of course, add whoever you want to this list and act accordingly, this is just who I could think of. If you want to boycott the entire industry, then go for it. I hope this can be a good starting point for you.

Hello! I apologize in advance if I ask questions that someone already answered, I scrolled down this subreddit quite a bit but I could've missed something.
Anyway, I'm a Junior in UCF's Kinesiology program, and while I love what I'm learning, I can't do much with a Bachelors alone. I've been looking into OT programs around FL, since I'm genuinely interested in it and a lot of my required courses correspond with the prerequisites. My only options are St. Augustine (which I've heard is overpriced and terrible) and UF.
I wanted to look and see if anyone here has gotten their degree/certification from UF, and what the application process was like for them. I have a 3.9GPA for upper division coursework, but a 3.25GPA in prerequisites. I plan on looking for a club and an internship this fall to get some more experience in the field, but I worry about committing this time and money (or lack of money from working an unpaid job) towards something like this. UF is a prestigious school and only 50 or so people get into their OT program a year, and if I decide to commit to this, I don't want it to be for nothing. Is there anything more that I can do to ensure I have a good shot at getting into this program? Or are there other schools relatively close to FL that I should look into? I'm 19 years old and I don't have much experience in the real world yet, so I'm just not sure what the best direction to go is. I spoke to my academic advisor a few days ago but she didn't have much advice for me since UCF doesn't have an OT program, and every college is different.

I live in Palm Beach area in Florida and want to work at a golf course. I mainly want free/cheap golf benefits and decent pay. Im trying to decide 2 main things:
Best position to get?
I have no idea what type of job I should try to get, it seems like the tipped jobs like the cart guys might make more money. Are those jobs harder to get then? I don’t know what I should go for. A caddying job sounds awesome with the big tips but I don’t know of many courses that have them, and I’m assuming they’re hard jobs to get?
Private vs public course?
I feel like it would be sick to work at some super nice country club, but are the jobs harder to get? Do they have less golf benefits than public courses? There are so many courses here to choose from and I don’t know what is best.

Let's face it, the Cold War irrevocably tainted any ideology even tangentially related to the word "social", and one could argue that this deeply ingrained aversion to terms such as "socialism" or "social democracy" is a major contributor to Sanders' loss in 2016, even though his policies would objectively benefit the lower 50% of the population.
Rebranding social democratic policies and other social democratic safety nets in a way that makes them more appealing to demographics wary of the terms like "socialism" and "social democracy" involves a strategic communication approach that emphasizes shared values, practical benefits, and relatable messaging. Here are some key points that I think we should implement in order to successfully enact socialist policy that would overwhelmingly benefit the lower 50%:

• Use Inclusive and Familiar Language:

Instead of terms like "socialism" or even "social democracy," use language that resonates with American values, such as "freedom," "security," "opportunity," and "family support." Phrases like "economic security," "family benefits," and "health assurance" can frame these concepts in a more positive and accessible light. This is what the ultraconservative billionaires do with their private foundations and political non profits (Americans for Prosperity, etc.)

• Emphasize Fairness and Equality of Opportunity:

Many people are motivated by the idea of a fair playing field. Highlight how safety nets are about giving everyone a fair shot at success, not just providing handouts. For instance, explain how access to healthcare and education enables all citizens to contribute more effectively to the economy. Emphasize the fact that a lot of these "self-made" actually started out with significant family resources at their disposals (Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, etc.)

• Highlight Economic Benefits and Efficiency:

Discuss the economic rationality behind safety nets, such as reducing emergency healthcare costs through preventative care or boosting economic productivity through better-educated workers. Show how these measures can save money in the long run and stabilize the economy. Investment in education = more efficient workers = more efficient economy; therefore, it is in America's advantage to make higher education more accessible.

• Use Success Stories and Relatable Examples:

People connect with personal stories more than abstract concepts. Share success stories of individuals and communities that have benefited from these programs. Highlight examples from conservative or traditionally right-leaning areas where social programs have led to positive outcomes. The New Deal policies enacted under FDR come to mind as they were remarkably beneficial to the lower class before being systematically dismantled during the Reagan Era.

• Focus on Family and Community Values:

Frame safety nets as a way to protect and uplift families and communities, ensuring that no one is left behind during tough times. This can appeal to communal and familial instincts, which are strong in many conservative areas. Republicans LOVE family values, so finding a way to promote these policies in the name of "family" is a must.

• Stress Independence and Self-Sufficiency:

Rather than presenting safety nets as charity, frame them as tools that help people become self-sufficient. For example, job training programs can be branded as "career advancement networks," emphasizing their role in helping individuals climb the economic ladder on their own terms. This one is huge. Self-sufficiency and independence are a major reason cars are still so prevalent as apposed to public transit in this country. Figuring out a way to emphasize the importance of social policies as pivotal to these ideals is crucial.

• Leverage Bipartisan Support:

Where possible, highlight bipartisan support for certain measures, demonstrating that they are not about partisan politics but about common-sense solutions to shared problems. This can help reduce the fear of a "socialist" agenda. This one is difficult due to how obdurate Republicans can be, but garnering Republican support is essential.

• Avoid Patronizing or Condescending Tones:

When communicating these ideas, it’s crucial to respect the intelligence and concerns of the audience. Avoid talking down or dismissing their fears. Instead, acknowledge their concerns and provide thoughtful, evidence-based responses. Look, I get it - it can be hard to deal with many conservatives without feeling an air of haughtiness. But rather than contempt I propose pity: these poor people lack the requisite critical thinking skills to recognize corporate propaganda, and patronizing them only leads to further division.

• Use Local Influencers and Leaders:

Messages are often more persuasive when delivered by familiar and trusted voices. Engaging local leaders, religious figures, and influencers who can speak to the benefits of these policies in a culturally resonant way can increase acceptance and understanding. Social media is also a must. TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Youtube shorts have proven invaluable in disseminating ideologies.

• Demonstrate Government Efficiency:

Many fears around social democracies relate to perceptions of government inefficiency. Demonstrate cases where government intervention has been efficient and effective, and highlight improvements and reforms that aim to enhance government accountability and performance. Again, think FDR's New Deal.
By addressing cultural values and speaking directly to the needs and concerns of skeptical demographics, it's possible to reshape perceptions of social democratic policies in a way that emphasizes their practicality, necessity, and alignment with broadly held American values.
Rebranding our core ideals as "patriotic" and renovating them with a big Red White and Blue veneer should be our sole focus. In order to effect meaningful change, we need to use tried and true tactics borrowed from the conservative billionaire ruling class. Using their strategy of adopting ambiguous and broad-sounding yet seemingly innocuous names is essential (think "American's for Prosperity", "Club for Growth" "Institute of Economic Affairs", etc.).

I work at a Marriott Vacation Club which operates very differently than your normal hotels. Because it’s a time-share our owners paid a lot of money to own and continue to pay expensive maintenance fees. Although Marriott is definitely one of the best timeshares you can buy, starting May 1st they rolled out a new “program” called “Starter Kit Pilot Launch” which in layman terms is the definition of Corporate Greed. Many Vacation Clubs have been open for 20+ years which means owners come with a certain expectation. However this new “program” prevents any guest from requesting any new items they may run out of for example toilet paper, towels, laundry detergent, coffee bags, paper towels, tea, and literally anything else you could think of. Guest use to be able to just call or text the resort requesting whatever said items and we would deliver to there villa with no charge. Well not anymore and it’s ridiculous in my mind! The amount of money Marriott makes, there is no reason we should be charging $3 per item as I can almost guarantee that money is pure profit for Marriott and it only hurts the employees who deliver this new “news”. Apparently this only started in the east coast and they will eventually roll it out globally. Please let me know your thoughts!!

Need Advice on Team Drama
Hello Reddit, I have some team drama that I would like to share and get some advice on. I am a 2007 goalie who will play 18u next year. I tried out for a club, who put me on their 18u A team. My parents signed the contract and paid full to reserve my spot. A week later they told me the team folded due to lack of players wanting to play A so the team folded. They would then put me on 18u AA as a taxi goalie. Yesterday to my surprise, I found out that the 18U A team exists again and played in a league seeding tournament with two new goalies. I was then told that I was downgraded from AA taxi to taxiing the A team and there was no spot for me on the A team as a fulltime goalie. I am very confused as my family had already paid for my spot to be reserved on the A team if the team was going to exist again. The money was not refunded either. Why can the club downgrade me and find two new goalies if my family paid to reserve my spot? Could my family and I get some advice on how to proceed? Thank you and I am sorry for the rant.

I’ve noticed a sentiment on college subs in general that WGU is a “scam” and is on the same level as something like the university of phoenix
I say this as someone who didn’t go to wgu. I went to one of the “traditional” public engineering schools. It took 4 years and honestly if I could’ve worked on my own pace I could’ve finished in 2-3.
I honestly think it’s incredible what WGU is doing. I have a few friends/coworkers that went and finished school quickly and cheaply.
Instead of me feeling jealously/resentment I realized WGU gave these people an opportunity for an education they most likely would’ve never gotten (for example, one was a single father and had to work full time to support his child. Do you think going to school part time for 4-5 years was a valid option for him?)
First off, it’s accredited. By the same accreditation body that accredits schools like the university of Washington and BYU. It’s even ABET accredited, which is a HUGE deal for anything stem related, basically the gold standard for science accreditation.
Next, it’s a non profit. It’s not a for profit school like university of phoenix.
Lastly, the way it’s structured is just legendary. Listen, traditional college in some ways feels like a scam. You can’t go on your own pace, it literally feels like it’s designed to make you stay as long as possible so the university (even if it’s a public one) so it will make as much money as possible. Especially the transferring credits part.
WGU goes on 6 month terms. However, you can take as many classes as you want in that 6 month term.
If you have the time to do the work (which mind you according to the accrediting bodies has the same amount of rigor as traditional classes) why can’t you accelerate it?
It seems like traditional college students are jealous/mad that someone can complete a degree in 1-2 years time instead of 4. Why is this a bad thing?
It’s cheap, it’s accredited, it’s do at your own pace so you can do it while working, it seems great.
Now will it have the same weight as something like a LSU degree? No, but it’ll check that degree checkbox.
I hope college goes the way WGU has. It feels like traditional school feels more like a cult and an exclusive club nowadays. Oh you didn’t take 4 years at a traditional school and pay as much money as possible and be in a privileged position to not have to work full time? Your degree is a scam then.

Hey folks. Planning out my 2025 cruise on the radiance. Looking at all the entertainment options and I have a few questions.
I understand it costs money to play deal or no deal but is watching free? Carnival lists it as an extra cost.
The piano bar is marked as an extra cost. Is that just because cocktails aren’t included or is there some sort of cover to hang out in the bar? If so that’s wack. The comedy club and nightclub don’t say extra charge so I’m confused.
If we have 6:00 dining time will we make it to any shows we want to see? Will realistically probably only eat in the MDR one or two nights.

I've been meaning to do this for a while, but haven't gotten around to it. It's been fairly low priority. I transferred from community college in September and I only have one year left, since I graduate June 2025. I'll have to see if next spring is still available, but on the other hand, I'm also not sure if I want to do other things (like participate in clubs, or perhaps do internships), and I've always been concerned about saving money and avoiding debt wherever possible. I feel like I'm gonna regret not doing this, though if it's too late then so be it. I'm stuck between a bunch of different options.

Hey everyone,
Full transparency right off the bat that I'm not the person who this post pertains to right now. I'm a 4th year Ph.D student who has been part of a neurodivergence club on campus for the past 3.5 years. One of the club members is an undergrad who has $2400 that the university is threatening to send to collections. He cannot register for further classes until it is paid off as well. I'm trying to help him narrow down his options but nothing is shaking loose.
Here's what's been done so far as well as some information on him:
1.) He is classified as a dependent and therefore can only accept so much loan money before his parents are expected to chip in with parent plus loans. The reason his parents haven't applied for parent plus loans is because his parents' credit history is extremely bad. Additionally, they refuse to even attempt to apply for those loans because they didn't want to pay for his college at all. His parents also live in poverty from the sounds of it.
2.) He tried to apply for private loans but was denied because he doesn't have any income (and overall financial standing in general). He was recently employed but had to leave his job due to the overwhelming amount of stress it caused him. He is autistic and that is sadly a predictor of whether someone can hold down a full time job.
3.) He cannot borrow any more until he pays the $1200 off based on my understanding. To top it off, he was recently misinformed by one of the campus financial advisors that he was going to receive a refund to pay it back, but it turns out they were totally wrong in this case. So, he registered for summer classes that he's now going to have to drop so he doesn't owe any more than he already does in this case.
What are his options at this point? I've looked up plenty of resources and they all point towards options he's already taken but managed to hit a dead end in some capacity (e.g., private loans and getting denied).

I, 31 female, have been together with my husband, 37 male, for 10 years and married for almost 9. We have two beautiful children, a 4 yr old son and a 2 yr old daughter and he has two other children with two other women that he doesn’t get to see and pays child support for. Before my son we had 12 losses, one of which I hemorrhaged from and then I ending up almost hemorrhaging to death after our son was born. We also had one more miscarriage after our daughter was born and I’ve since decided to not try for anymore even though this breaks my heart a little because I always wanted a bigger family.
I recently lost my mother and 10 year old niece in August after they were unalived by a family friend who also unalived himself. Less than two months later, my sister tragically passed in a car accident. To say that broke me is truly an understatement. For months all I could do was cry everyday and feel excruciating pain. My mom and sister were extremely close. We messaged and called every day, multiple times a day even though we all live within a 10 mile radius. They were there for me through everything life had to spit at us. We already have lost every female on my dad’s side of the family. My sister and I were all that was left besides our own daughters. The future feels daunting knowing that there may very well be decades with them not here with me.
It’s been many months now and I feel like I am finally starting to feel happiness and I’m just doing my best to spend as much time with my kids and remaining niece and nephew. My oldest niece is my partner in crime especially now that we are in the no mom and no sister club. She’s only in her early teens and she had also been shot but thankfully survived.
On to the issue. My husband has honestly never really put in any effort for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, etc. Usually my birthday I don’t give a crap for but it’s only because in the past I’ve been disappointed because no one ever did anything for it. And I’m talking about just like a card and cake. Nothing serious. I really have dirt floor standards to be frank because I just have learned throughout life not to expect anything. That said I am the person who no matter what kind of financial situation I am in will find a way to show love and appreciation no matter the budget. I’ll make you hand made cards, I’ll personally call you on your birthday or special holidays, and I’ll make cake or cupcakes from scratch. If I have a budget I’ll plan dinner and some time to spend out. I just love making people feel happy and special. I was just raised that way.
So of course I find and marry the one person who honestly could kind of care less. I don’t think he has ever gotten or done anything for my birthday, not for Christmas. I remember he got me something for Mothers Day a few years ago…AFTER I had said something. My mom and sister on the other hand always made sure I got a card and we all had a Mothers Day dinner where we would cook and just enjoy time with our kids and ourselves.
This is my first Mothers Day without them and tomorrow and my sisters birthday without her. I had already verbally mentioned how hard it was going to be and my husband fully knew that it was going to be a hard day for me. My friends even sent him ideas for me, like just cleaning up the house and waking up to make breakfast for me. Things he’s honestly never done ever, but hey those are free things anyone could do to make someone feel special. All he said to my best friend was “lol I don’t have any money.” She got pissed. She ended up buying me flowers, a wind chime, some NA beer (I’m sober), and spent extra time with me because she knew I needed my support people on Mother’s Day. My dad also came out in support and got me more NA beer, bought me lunch, and we picked up my oldest niece and I got to spend a ton of time with her. My husband? Slept in until 10:30am. Didn’t do anything all day. I was up at 6 am with the kids and made breakfast after I realized he was still sleeping because ya know, kids can’t starve and I’m not going to wait 4 hours to have breakfast myself.
The thing is, this is just the tip of the iceberg. He can’t stay employed and oftentimes will switch jobs to avoid paying child support. Sure he’s present for the kids now, but when the going gets tough he pretty much stops putting in effort. I bet if I lived even 20 minutes away from him he wouldn’t see the kids often. He has never ever done much around the house despite me working MULTIPLE jobs at times (at one point I was working 3 and going to school). I work full time for a Fortune 500 company and he can’t even schedule a damn doctors appointment for himself. Any time I try to bring things up he’s dismissive or just denies things. And now he’s also getting more angry and aggressive because child support is being taken out again and he ended up swatting our son so hard our son doubled over…in front of my whole family! This along with Mothers Day has got me just thinking I need to divorce him. He can’t hit our kids like that period. All our son did was throw a damn smore at him! And I have multiple witnesses including my niece, grandfather, brother and SIL. I want to protect our kids. I feel like after that happened if I stay with him I am essentially condoning his behavior. I absolutely confronted him about it and he says he feels bad and should never have done it but he felt justified in that moment. I can’t trust someone like that. And it’s not the first time he’s swatted at our son but this was certainly the worst. So I am ready to leave just for that but then our son would have to be with him unsupervised.
If I am overreacting I want to know. He says I am and constantly says I am. I just need some clarity and maybe just support because if I do this, this is something that once the ball is rolling you can’t really stop it. I’m just afraid…but I think I’m more afraid of what will happen if I stay.
