2024.05.15 19:19 x993231 X From Ihub with a few thoughts See some of you next week

Lol now ihub punk is asking “What is the current sales pipeline for Lightwave Logic's polymer modulators and other products? Can you share any details on the size and timing of potential deals with the 20+ major corporations that have viewed the technology demo?"
"When do you anticipate Lightwave Logic will achieve its first $1 million revenue quarter? What milestones need to be hit to reach that level of quarterly sales?"
"What is the company's plan to become cash flow positive and profitable? When do you expect Lightwave Logic to reach profitability?”
Punkin has come a long way, he used to say that it could never be done, now he keeps falling back, apparently trying to hold the line, lol, now he is asking questions about revenue and dang even invoking God to help humanity as his reason for posting in his credentials. Even if one thinks that they are right that is quite a statement, typically something that a reasonable person keeps to themselves a life's effort is something between them and their creator. I have no idea where this technology will lead or what it will solve, my goal is an investment, certainly not divine, I have no clue in the end who it will truly benefit but the medical thing does have potential.
Today I'm happy with thousands of modulators on a foundry produced wafer. And thousands of modulators from a few ounces of Perkinamine. These modulators Triple the speed, reduce the power and are 1/30 the size of today's modulators. Lebby will fill us in on what we need, he is far more intelligent than anyone on this board.
Read on folks.
Oh and do not forget about those that sold early (or didn’t sell early) that purport to be long and like to consistently complain every single time the price drops. Let me try to explain it this way, this is not a sports game, this is a technology, so unlike sports, points can be literally be taken of the scoreboard by simply borrowing and selling shares (shorts). Remember though that those shares must be purchased back and until then the actual score of the game is not known. So the shorts agenda is to sell it down then try and convince folks to sell them shares at that discounted price. Some longs do not understand that they are helping the shorts at their game. That being said, there are currently 17% more shares sold than exist. They have borrowed those shares and pay interest daily and have sold them to us with the hope of buying them back at a reduced price (Some purported longs even try to help them) apparently, they think that if they complain it will force an NVDA, Microsoft, IBM, Amazon to reach an agreement with Lightwave sooner. Well, it will not change the speed of the adoption of the technology, I’m all for doing a tier1 agreement, but a few quick little agreements could force their hand so the Tier1’s do not have to have to honor those agreements should the company be taken over. Some seam to forget that until now Silicon photonics could keep up, but no more and with AI we just entered a new world, where the pace set by Moore's Law for silicon photonics is leisurely compared to this new demand. AI is totally on a sprint, with its computational power doubling not every two years, but approximately every six months.
Let me look at what the shorts have said over the years basically throwing spaghetti at the wall and have been proven wrong. Patents were filed in 2020, 2021, ALD I think was 2022. Patents were not made public, the shorts were babbling meanwhile Lebby had not only solved it but wrote and submitted patents.
Here are the 10 top B.S. short myths, trying to suppress the stock so they could try and cover I also think that there are a few purported longs that sold prematurely that are now helping to push the shorts game forward, meanwhile with the next deal announcement the dam is about to burst.
I’d love to see Punkin hold a conversation with Lebby one on one for 5 minutes, it would be hilarious,
Shorts and those paid by the shorts to act like they “know something” won't even tell you when they are short, they just say, no not short just here to spend my life 7 days a week helping folks that I have never met. Well, here they are, you tell me guys.
1.) The shorts had worked for months to try and convince investors that Lightwave had a problem poling. Then low and behold Lightwave unveiled 2 patents they submitted years prior solving that issue.
2.) The shorts claimed for years Lightwave could not protect the device in anything other than a gold box, then Lightwave unveiled the ALD patent that they had acquired. Basically, hair spray over the finished chip is all that is needed. The foundries are using the same thing over the electronics side of the chip. Understand that even if someone else invents an EO Polymer Lightwave Owns the Patent on ALD over Polymers. Comprende?
3.) The shorts claimed Lightwaves material was not stable, Wham Bam blown out of the water yet again.
4.) Shorts said that Lightwave could never get this under 1 volt, well Lightwave did, in fact Lightwaves polymer is so sensitive that their modulators can function without the aid of driver to boost the voltage. Basically the electrons in the 1's and 0's rolling off the silicon can embed themselves into the laser using Lightwaves polymer. Oh and by the way, Lightwave also owns the patent on a driverless Polymer Modulator. Even if someone perfects a stable sensitive EO polymer when the want to do direct drive, they have to come knocking on Lightwaves door with cash in hand.
5.) For the 6 months leading up to last years annual shareholder meeting the shorts stated Lightwave could not close a commercial deal all the then like now trying to convince us that the sky was falling and once again Lebby delivered.
6.) For months the shorts said Lightwave could not use anything other than gold on their electrodes, well guess the F what, yup, once again (at the shareholders meeting) Lebby put up a slide of successful foundry runs and when asked by me if the contacts labeled AL on the slide stood for Aluminum Lebby said “yes, we use that any many other materials as well”. I asked about aluminum corrosion, the response was, X (you idiot) that is what the ALD will also protect.
7.) The Shorts were trying to convince longs that the foundry had not made progress on PDK’s, Lebby certainly blew them out of the water on that as well. As info PDK’s are process development kits, it is how the foundries make Lightwaves devices available to the public so when an NVDA’s, Amazon (AWS), Cisco or Fujitsu are designing devices they can check that box and add that to their device in the foundry. 2 weeks ago lebby said the foundries have thousands of modulators per wafer. On question that I need to understand is that with thousands of devices on a wafer how many of those thousands of modulators are affected by the kerf when dicing (sawing or scribing?)
8) The shorts used to say that it couldn’t me done now as you see Pumpkin is asking Yes but “What is the current sales pipeline for Lightwave Logic's polymer modulators? Can you share any details on the size and timing of potential deals with the 20+ major corporations that have viewed the technology demo? When do you anticipate Lightwave Logic will achieve its first $1 million revenue quarter? What milestones need to be hit to reach that level of quarterly sales? What is the company's plan to become cash flow positive and profitable? When do you expect Lightwave Logic to reach profitability?” Lol, Lol and again Lol It sounds like Pumpkin is finally being honest, perhaps it is by divine intervention on his posts
9) As info the institutions now own 26% of the shares, The shorts would have us believe that is irrelevant, wait what?
10) I like this, Ted who also has another ID said that he gets his info from the internet because everything on it is true. When asked why he does not use first-hand information he said that he is not good at reading people, lol and yet he watches every video with baited breath.
I know some do not see it but as evidenced by their latest efforts the shorts are worried and it is obvious that whomever they got their info from was consistently years behind making up issues that had in fact already been solved. I would not want to have been an advisor to the shorts.
Lightwave is finally at the stage where they have the patents in place, moved into additional lab space, hired additional lab personnel for making larger quantities of perkinamine, (a few fluid ounces can make thousands of devices) the new lab will be equipped to test larger quantities of chips coming back from foundries, work on new polymers for additional devices (they even have another polymer available for licensing) produce data sheets, standardize bulk testing, they have even hired a dedicated deal maker, oh also a V.P. dedicated just to working with foundries that are actively running wafers. Now they have added a former Intel deal maker to the board of directors.
Soon this thing will in fact snowball because the industry's "go to" good old silicon photonics has hit the wall it simply cannot run faster. Lightwaves material when added applied to Silicon triples the speed and because it is so sensitive it is 30times smaller and uses 1/10 the power all at a time when AI is pushing the amount of data processed by the data centers through the roof.
~Some of us were wondering why the Lightwave employees were still in town (apparently held over) for an extra 2 days over after the OFC San Frisco meeting, now we see that there were no less than 20 companies that apparently requested an unscheduled impromptu demo on a holiday week (good Friday) after the convention was over. Not only did Lightwave employees not go home but it sounds like a bunch of Tier 1’s and such saw it as important enough to see ASAP. And yes while many on here say that NDA’s do not exist, LOL I’ll bet that not only were NDA’s mandatory but I bet that every demo was “private” by scheduled appointment only and also attended by the various expert employees at Lightwave to get the most bang for the buck.~
Lightwave makes the thing that makes the component better anyone communicating using fiber optics needs it, the entire industry needs it. Think if BASF produces a chemical that makes paint last longer. Why would the paint manufacture tell its competitors what makes their paint so durable. Lightwave is going partner with many and they will simply sell devices that are faster and require less energy, those companies are not going to tell the competition what they do to make that happen. Lightwave will quietly market to the tier1's and they will insist on it in their data centers and devices. The one exception that I see is that if the foundry runs were paid for by Lightwave Logic (vs. say an amazon or facebook etc) Lightwave would do joint public PR of where the industry can order chips with Lightwaves Perkinamine on it (It is called checking the box on the PDK).
The shorting situation will be solved by additional Partnerships and look out when those Partnerships are accompanied by a dividend in a new 3rd party company licensing say the ability to develop the Lidar device market or for the biotech crowd a medical sensing partner, wham short situation solved in short order. Remember that currently they are only talking about Telcom 2km to 10km market but there are so many more.
Currently 1k difference between the buys and sells changed it 1 penny. Folks this is just normal trading without any pressure on the price. This time next week we’ll either be in the lab or in the meeting.
Still trying to digest the effects of T+1 on the shorts especially the foreign exchange rate, Fails To Deliver, Naked shorting etc. it is coming the Tuesday after Memorial Day (Holiday in the U.S., which is the weekend after the Shareholders Meeting), Finra Settlement Date 5/31 which then will mean a trade date of 5/30.
Short Game, Market Maker Game, Institution Game, changing technology

2024.05.15 18:55 Xixi-the-magic-user [Gigastructure] Frameworld : am I missing something or is it just pain ?

First thing : I know gigastructure isn't updated to 3.12 WHICH IS WHY I'M PLAYING STELLARIS 3.11 ERIDANUS
So I've been playing the frameworld origin to get a taste because i wanted to try virtuality on it whe the mod updates to 3.12 and it's been PAIN
First thing you learn when checking the info is that the ascension effects are slashed by 3/4th and it cost twice as much to ascend. ok maybe the origin is that powerful. Then the game starts, let's talk a bit about the basic features of the frame world
Now that the basics of the frame world extensions are covered, let's talk about the disticts and planetary management. I didn't increase the building slots AND IT WAS PAIN.
Naturally i ended up capped pretty fast on how much research and unity i could produce. 2 slots for the alloy/CG buildings, 1 more for the mineral 1 for the energy it wasn't producing much
Surely you've started noticing the trend of a lot of jobs, but half are homeless. That's right, turns out you ACTUALLY STILL NEED TO BUILD HOUSING DISTRICT LMAO. Good thing virtual pops don't need as much housing. it's sad for the clerk job bonuses tho
Anyway, at this point of the game i start having access to some kilo structures, and i'm still not having a good time :
I read in the manuel that the archology project is only useful for rogue servitors so they can have a sanctuary archology, how about it also un nerfs the districts to actual ecu/ringworld level ?
Then i finally hit the megastructures point of the game (praise be the yddrassil complex, close second to the old asteroid manufacturies and now my absolute fav of the mod), only a few affect the frame world
I haven't hit the giga engineering part yet (as tetradimensional engineering refuses to roll), but I haven't had that slow of a start since knights of the toxic gods, it seems to me the origin is terrible, everything is overpriced, you get your planet overcrowed FAST especially with wars (and i really don't like the maintenances workers, they increase upkeep and barely sustain themselves), and everything that should have made it good (only 1 planet to ascend, low empire size) either isn't there or has been nerfed to the ground
Did i mentioned that the world gets a "high density planet scaling" feature that add upkeep, reduce stability and reduce job production ? just why ? anyway i think i'll pick the birchworld origin instead

2024.05.15 18:29 Quincy_Carter_17 Searching for the DownBeat

Every morning as soon as I drop the kids off at school I begin my search. Slowly scrolling through the entirety of both the FM and AM dial. Searching for that morning show that brought me so much joy. I listen to commercial breaks I come across just hoping that after them I’ll be greated by the aloof demenour of the Mike, or the delightful Danny charming me with another nonsensical Jerry rant turned country hit. I even find myself wondering what loosely ruled game show Kevio would be concocting during his showerthoughts in showersocks if he were still worried about dominating morning drive.
The radio dial is a wasteland of the generic. I haven’t found the downbeat yet but surely the Hispanic is pushing for them to be on one of the countless Latin stations I’ve found. I discovered the wicket still maintains their AM signal but am sad to say that the Snoozer’s attitude of coasting and indifference is somehow the only thing that comes through clearer on that side of the dial.
Not everybody wakes up happy in the morning and the downbeat was the perfect outlet . Must listen to hilarity every morning, by a group of legends that were no happier about getting up than the rest of us. Please come back boys. The real workers of the metroplex desperately need you.

2024.05.15 17:46 Similar_Investment95 USA Club Rugby

American sports culture is deeply ingrained in the fabric of society, weaving a tapestry of passion, loyalty, and connection that extends far beyond the boundaries of the playing field. Unlike anywhere else in the world, the love affair between Americans and sports transcends mere entertainment; it is a testament to the profound personal connections forged over years of shared experiences with the athletes themselves. At the core of this enduring bond lies the unique relationship between fans and players, one that is nurtured by a myriad of personal connections. For many Americans, their love for sports is intertwined with memories of growing up alongside the very athletes they now cheer for. Whether it's attending the same school, playing in little league together, or even dating, these shared experiences create a sense of kinship that goes beyond the realm of fandom. In communities across the country, athletes are not just distant figures on a screen; they are the kids next door, the children of friends, or even hometown heroes who once walked the same streets and attended the same schools. This familiarity breeds a sense of pride and ownership among fans, who see themselves reflected in the journeys and triumphs of their local sports heroes. Moreover, the ties that bind fans to players often extend beyond the confines of the game itself. Whether it's rooting for a college alma mater or supporting a hometown team, the sense of belonging that comes from sharing a common bond with athletes is unparalleled. In a world where divisions seem to grow deeper by the day, sports have a unique ability to unite communities and foster a sense of solidarity among people from all walks of life. But perhaps most importantly, the connection between fans and players is built on a foundation of mutual respect and admiration. Athletes are not just admired for their on-field prowess, but also for the values they embody and the contributions they make off the field. Whether it's through charitable work, leadership in the community, or simply being a positive role model, athletes have the power to inspire and uplift others in ways that extend far beyond the game itself. In an era of increasing commercialization and globalization, the bond between fans and players remains a beacon of authenticity and genuine human connection. While the sports landscape may continue to evolve, one thing will always remain constant: the heartbeat of American sports is fueled by the enduring relationships between fans and the athletes they hold dear.
Major League Rugby finds itself in debate over the use of foreign players and referees, some of whom are allegedly working in the country illegally. While MLR has been touted as a vehicle for promoting the growth of rugby in the United States, recent revelations have cast doubt on the league's commitment to fostering domestic talent and adhering to legal protocols. At the heart of the issue lies the influx of foreign players and referees into the league. While the inclusion of international talent can undoubtedly enhance the quality of play and provide valuable experience for American players, concerns have been raised regarding the legality of their employment. Reports suggest that a significant number of referees officiating MLR matches and players are not authorized to work in the United States, raising serious questions about the league's recruitment and vetting processes. Furthermore, the use of foreign players and referees and has sparked outrage among local fans who argue that it undermines the development of American players and referees and erodes the integrity of the game. Critics argue that by prioritizing foreign players and referees over their American counterparts, MLR is neglecting its responsibility to nurture homegrown talent and promote diversity within the sport. The controversy surrounding MLR's employment practices has reignited debates about the league's overarching objectives. While MLR has consistently emphasized its commitment to growing rugby in the United States, critics argue that its reliance on foreign players and referees undermines this goal. Instead of investing in grassroots development and cultivating local talent, MLR stands accused of importing talent from overseas that does not add value to the field, the locker room, nor the community. Several US born players are simply passed up when their opportunity comes that they have earned for a player that is not getting enough playing time in one of the tier 1 nations. With allegations of foreign players and referees working without proper visas or work permits, MLR faces scrutiny not only for its ethical lapses but also for potential legal liabilities. Critics remain skeptical of the league's ability to address systemic issues and uphold its purported commitment to the growth of rugby in the United States. As MLR grapples with these challenges, the future of professional rugby in the USA hangs in the balance. Whether the league can reconcile its ambitions with the need for ethical and legal compliance remains to be seen. However, one thing is clear: the controversy surrounding foreign players and referees operating illegally has cast a shadow over the integrity of professional rugby, highlighting the importance of supporting grassroots club rugby and the emerging Super Rugby America in the United States.
Club rugby has been a beacon of community engagement and a steadfast advocate for the development of homegrown talent. The grassroots level where the true essence of the sport thrives, club rugby teams are always fostering connections that transcend the boundaries of the playing field. At the heart of club rugby is a commitment to community involvement that extends far beyond the realm of competition. From organizing youth clinics and outreach programs to volunteering at local events, club teams serve as pillars of support and sources of inspiration for the communities they represent. By actively engaging with fans club rugby creates spaces where people from all walks of life can come together to celebrate the sport they love. But perhaps even more important than its role in community engagement is club rugby's steadfast dedication to nurturing homegrown talent. Club teams prioritize the development of local athletes, providing them with the resources, guidance, and opportunities they need to succeed on the national and international stage. By focusing on US-born players and referees, club rugby not only helps to cultivate a new generation of rugby stars but also contributes to the growth and sustainability of the sport in the United States. As interest in rugby continues to soar across the country, club teams play a pivotal role in channeling that enthusiasm into tangible pathways for success, ensuring that American talent has the opportunity to shine on a global scale. Club rugby serves as a reminder of the power of community and the importance of investing in homegrown talent. Through their unwavering commitment to both their communities and the development of US-born players and referees, club teams embody the true spirit of the sport, enriching lives and shaping futures both on and off the field. All this is why I will be supporting club rugby going forward before the MLR. I will watch and support my friends on the field as they chase their dreams down.

2024.05.15 17:11 Puginator Uber announces shuttle rides, features for caregivers and Costco perks

Uber on Wednesday announced several new product updates at the company’s annual Go-Get showcase in New York City that aim to help its customers save money on rides and food.
The product updates reflect Uber’s continued push to drive growth and demand across its mobility and delivery business segments. The new features could help the company attract more riders and users to its app.
Here are the key new offerings the company announced:
Uber Shuttle
Riders looking for a more affordable way to get to the airport, work and live events, such as sports games and concerts, can reserve seats on an Uber Shuttle.
Uber has partnered with local shuttle services that will pick up riders and bring them to their destination. Uber said the shuttle services employ commercially licensed drivers, and users can tip and rate them directly within the Uber app.
The shuttles will have between 14 and 55 seats. Users can reserve up to five seats as early as seven days in advance, and they’ll receive a QR code ticket. Riders can track their shuttle’s location within 25 minutes of departure time.
The company said the shuttle will be a “fraction of the price” of a ride with UberX. The trip won’t be impacted by surge pricing.
Uber will start to roll out the feature at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium and at select concert venues in Chicago, Pittsburgh and Charlotte, N.C., this summer. Uber said it will expand the offering in the future.
Uber Caregiver
Caregivers can add loved ones, such as elderly family members, directly to their profiles starting this summer. This will allow caregivers to book rides for people they care for and order medical supplies and groceries on their behalf.
The feature will also allow for three-way chats between drivers, riders and caregivers.
Uber said the user’s insurance benefits can be applied when applicable to help minimize out-of-pocket costs. Uber Caregiver will initially support Medicaid recipients, customers who are 65 and older with Medicare Advantage, and customers with commercial insurance from their employers.
Caregivers can sign up to be notified when other insurance providers are added.
Costco on Uber Eats
Uber said Costco will be available as an on-demand option within Uber Eats in select locations across the U.S. starting Wednesday.
Users can order products from Costco even if they are not members, but Uber said members will save between 15% and 20% compared with nonmembers.
Costco members can enter their member numbers in the Uber Eats app and are eligible for 20% off of Uber One, the company’s subscription membership.
Schedule UberX Share
Uber said it is launching a new feature on Wednesday that lets users schedule a shared ride in advance. The feature will save users around 25% on average compared with a typical ride on UberX, the company said.
Scheduled UberX Share rides are initially launching in cities with some of the highest return-to-office rates. This includes New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and San Diego. Uber said more locations will follow.
Uber One for Students
Uber will offer its Uber One membership program at a discount for college students. The program normally costs $9.99 per month, but it will be available to students at $4.99 a month.
The company said students will also get access to free items and special deals, such as daily discounts on their orders from Taco Bell, Domino’s and Starbucks.
The Uber One Student Plan is launching in the U.S. in May. It will roll out in Canada, New Zealand and Australia in July, as well as in Japan and France in September.
Uber Eats Lists
Uber is introducing a new feature called “Lists” to Uber Eats that allows users to curate and share lists of restaurants and go-to spots. The company shared examples like “date night desserts” and “toddler-approved dinners.”

Netherlands ACM fined Fortnite for exploitative advertising practice for in-game purchases. Mobile gamers would benefit from much more of this!
The Netherlands Authority for Consumer and Markets (ACM) fined Epic Games for using “illegally aggressive commercial practices”.
They used “countdown timers on ads for available items, exploiting children's fear of missing out.” As an American, it was surprising to me to see this go punished, as almost everything advertised here is leveraged by FOMO.
The behavior of psychologically manipulative advertising should be universally fought against. The mobile gaming community is a huge target for these corporations. I’d personally love to see this type of legislative action take place in my region.

2024.05.15 15:59 Cold_Old_Fart The fear is strong in the SHFs (CTV National News May 14, 2024)

So, other than voting my DRS'ed shares for the AGM next month, I had pretty much put $GME on the back burner in my head as I'm trying to get some things done.
Last night, as I was dozing off to the television news, this item popped up on the screen. In the time that some other stocks have seen one-day dramatic gains, I never saw a piece on those share prices on this newscast, let along a hit-piece masquerading as legitimate news.
Then, this muppet says GameStop has no future because people aren't buying more online games. Well, the anal-cysts would be more credible if understood what the key product lines and services that are being offered by a business.
https://www.ctvnews.ca/video/c2922550-ctv-national-news--meme-stock-frenzy?playlistId=1.6887536 (sorry about the lead-in commercials)
Makes it hard to forget GameStop if they stick it in front of my face on national television pretending to be an actual news item.
So, I figured I better have a look at the current share price - I really haven't looked for a while. I check in here occasionally, see the 'trading sideways' posts, and head off to other things. Hmmm, well that was interesting. But nothing about bankrupt SHFs, financial terrorists going to prison or telephone numbers.
So, anyway, I just kept hodling.
Hope you are all well out there.
Formerly, the DOTH guy.

2024.05.15 15:55 X_Joyam Old Facebook war game

Hey guys, I'm looking for an old Facebook war game.
It's an old Facebook game where you had this island you could expand (it's now Empire & Allies, which was discontinued before this game).
In this game the same troops you had to deploy to battle, were scated around your island. You had to fight monsters basically (it's not Social Empires tho). These units you could make were very different in nature: there were land troops like infantry and tanks, but also a lot of airplanes (the red baron was a special flying unit), helicopters and some giant mechs (I do remember I used to have made a yellow one).
You were able to mine minerals—if I don't remember wrongly, they were gold and wood—and there were also turrets and walls to protect your little encampment from sporadic outer monsters raids.
It's not Battlefront Heroes, but I do remember I used to play this game around the same time.
If it could help, the base was made by several islands, and you used to begin from the central main one and you could expand farther by purchasing plots of land and killing the monsters nearby.
Does anyone remember what's the game's name?

2024.05.15 15:44 DeemieDeemz 26 [M4F] US/East Coast- Looking for someone to gain a connection with

Hi there! I didn’t think I’d ever make one of these again. But here I am..
I’m searching for someone to gain a connection with. And someone who will respond to me.
Some things about me is I currently work as a commercial fisherman, I love playing video games. Either on pc, my ps5 and switch. Some games range from Destiny 2, HellDivers 2, animal crossing, any and all Mario and Pokémon games. I love comedy, action, adventure and some anime movies/tv-shows.
I’m a huge animal lover, if you show me pictures of your cat and/or dogs, my heart will automatically be won. I’m a sucker for a furry face. I’m not so much religious anymore. I’m standing at a whopping 6’2-6’3 with brown hair and hazel-ish eyes. I do have facial hair. I tend to grow it out a bit, but then get annoyed and trim it back down. I am certified chef, I work in a food truck with my family during the summers, we used to have our own restaurant where I was the head chef. When it’s not summer, I keep the passion alive by baking and cooking at home constantly.
What I’m looking for is someone between 19-30. But as long as you are 18+ Im more open than most. I’d love someone to be a considerate, passionate, kind and understanding. If you are clingy, needy, or anything like that, you gain a big plus with me. If you actually answer and show an effort to talk to me. And EVEN BIGGER plus. If you have the same interests, or at least some of them, it would help greatly. Being upfront and not sugarcoating things I appreciate. Distance isn’t much of an issue. Sometimes I enjoy a good long drive.
I’ve had many ghost me before due to their judgmental ways. I will give the fair warning before. I am not the smallest person. I’m a bit heavier set. But I’m working on it.
Reply with something you like, something we could have in common.
Let’s get to know each other and see if we match. I look forward to talking 🩵

2024.05.15 15:35 OrwellianWiress Pokemon Go is actually a global advertising operation that all the major companies are in on

All the commercials for Pokemon Go show people going out in nature to find a bunch of Pokemon. When you actually go hiking or walking in the woods while playing the game, you never find any. This is most likely due to a bad internet connection. So if they're not out in nature, where are the Pokemon hiding?
At businesses. They're always at businesses. Go to your local supermarket, coffee shop, gym or fast food restaurant and there will always be Pokemon there. These locations are also probably Pokestops or Pokemon Gyms as well.
I think that these businesses are actually paying Niantic (the game's developer) to spawn Pokemon close to their location. If you've been walking around for a bit, what are the chances that you might need a coffee or a quick meal? And since you're already there because of the game you might as well just get it there.

2024.05.15 15:19 M0nk3yb0y111 The Brilliance of Scott Cawthon: A Game Developer Who Revolutionized Horror

Scott Cawthon, a name that has become synonymous with innovative horror gaming, is the mastermind behind the wildly successful "Five Nights at Freddy's" (FNaF) franchise. His journey from an independent developer to a celebrated figure in the gaming world is a testament to his creativity, perseverance, and profound impact on the genre. Cawthon's work not only redefined horror games but also inspired a generation of gamers and creators. This essay explores why Scott Cawthon is so remarkable for his contributions to the gaming industry.

A Humble Beginning

Before achieving fame with FNaF, Scott Cawthon's career was marked by a series of lesser-known projects. He created numerous games, many of which struggled to find a wide audience. Titles like "Chipper & Sons Lumber Co." showcased his ability to develop engaging gameplay, but they did not receive significant attention. Despite facing setbacks and criticism, Cawthon remained undeterred, continuously honing his craft and pushing the boundaries of his creativity.

The Birth of a Phenomenon

The turning point in Cawthon's career came in 2014 with the release of "Five Nights at Freddy's." This game was unlike anything the gaming world had seen before. Set in a fictional pizzeria, players took on the role of a night security guard who must survive against haunted animatronics. The game's unique mechanics, where players must manage limited resources to fend off terrifying enemies, introduced a new kind of psychological horror that captivated players.
"Five Nights at Freddy's" was an instant hit, praised for its simplicity, atmosphere, and deep lore. The game's success can be attributed to Cawthon's innovative use of jump scares, tension-building mechanics, and a compelling narrative that kept players coming back for more. The minimalist approach, combined with an eerie ambiance, created an immersive experience that left a lasting impression on players.

Expanding the Universe

Cawthon's ability to expand the FNaF universe is another testament to his genius. Rather than resting on his laurels, he continually developed sequels that built upon the original game's lore and mechanics. Each new installment added layers of complexity and depth, weaving an intricate narrative that spanned multiple games. This storytelling approach fostered a dedicated community of fans who eagerly deciphered the mysteries and theories surrounding the series.
In addition to the main games, Cawthon ventured into other media, including books and planned movies. The "Fazbear Frights" book series and graphic novels expanded the FNaF lore, providing fans with more content and deeper insights into the story's universe. This multi-platform approach demonstrated Cawthon's versatility and commitment to providing a rich, immersive experience for his audience.

Inspiring a Community

One of the most remarkable aspects of Scott Cawthon's legacy is the community he has cultivated. The FNaF series has inspired countless fan theories, artworks, and even fan-made games. Platforms like YouTube saw an explosion of content from creators analyzing and playing the games, further boosting their popularity. Cawthon's engagement with his fanbase, often teasing new projects and acknowledging fan contributions, has fostered a loyal and enthusiastic community.
Moreover, Cawthon's journey from an independent developer to a renowned figure serves as an inspiration to aspiring game developers. His story underscores the importance of perseverance, creativity, and the willingness to learn from failure. By sharing his experiences and remaining humble despite his success, Cawthon has become a role model for many in the gaming industry.

A Lasting Impact

Scott Cawthon's impact on the horror genre and the gaming industry at large cannot be overstated. He revolutionized how horror games are designed, shifting the focus from gratuitous violence to psychological tension and atmospheric storytelling. The success of FNaF paved the way for other indie horror games, proving that small developers could create impactful and commercially successful titles.
In conclusion, Scott Cawthon's contributions to the gaming world are nothing short of extraordinary. His innovative approach to horror, dedication to expanding the FNaF universe, and ability to inspire a global community of fans and creators highlight his brilliance. Cawthon's legacy will undoubtedly continue to influence the gaming industry for years to come, solidifying his place as a pioneering figure in the world of game development. Do you agree?

Cool lichess.org feature I just stumbled on: opening explorer
You already knew lichess offers free post game analysis for all games played, unlike the commercial services. Well, this is a feature of that service, it's called opening explorer.
Not only does it show you how many times a move had been previously analyzed, it shows you the win/draw% for each player on each move. It's a really fascinating feature and what I found most interesting is that as the moves progress, it quickly goes from millions of players making a particular move, and on the next move only a few thousand, and then a few hundred and quickly, only a handful.
Just goes to show how on an 8x8 board, the possibilities are almost infinite. What's your favorite perhaps lesser known lichess feature?

2024.05.15 13:13 KadenPS Free time? Modder? I have an idea for you

One big problem I see with Project Zomboid is how easy it is to get loot. You can easily spawn in WP, go to the GIGA Mart and the hardware store on the first day, then go to the police station and the gun store the next.
It seems unreasonable how everyone knew about the Knox Event, and didn't stockpile supplies. What I mean is that stores have TOO much loot. Loot that can last you a month. Ive tried Insanely Rare loot + 75% less loot, yet GIGA Mart and the gun store have way too much loot to take, making the game boring as it gets rid of the challenge of exploration.
Mod idea: commercial buildings (stores, gun stores, restaurants, etc.) have less loot

2024.05.15 12:52 PRIMEXXXDEX HUMAN VIOLATED ALEN SPACE

https://youtu.be/9edv60kkEj0
Welcome to another great video we have for you. Please thank you for tuning in. Tonight's guess will be Captain Pete Wilson and his wingman, Captain Cloud, two pilots from the RED DOG. They will take us through their heroic dogfight encounter with the Zeadrux fighters. So please join us.
On August 24th, 2520, the pilots often tested each other's response time while border tagging or crossing into each other's sectors. While flying over an asteroid field in the Neutral Zone near the ZEADRUX border and planet, Captain Pete Wilson and his wingman, Captain Cloud, were just crossing the Neutral Zone when they found themselves trying to avoid being detected and taken out by two ZEADRUX fighters. This was a cat-and-mouse game for the humans as they crossed into the ZEADRUX sector.
So, Captain Wilson and Captain Cloud, thank you for joining us. Please introduce yourselves.
I'm Captain Wilson from the Red Dog. It's a pleasure to be here. Thank you.
Captain Cloud, Red Dog. Thank you.
So please tell us about this encounter with the Zeadrux.
Well, "We came to find out these two pilots were the best of the best ZEADRUX Pilots in the area, and we had to be on our best game to beat them.
So you had incoming ZEADRUX fighters are just seconds away from blowing Wilson out of the sky.
The ZEADRUX fighter's radar could see me, so I go strictly into defensive mode.
so Wilson you banks left and dived down fast. If he can confuse the ZEADRUX fighter's radar with the mountain trees and river, your fighter had a better chance.
yes their low-altitude radar is designed to detect targets in a clear sky or space with little terrain. To counter this, I aims to force the ZEADRUX fighters radar to look down into an area with environmental cover. This forces the radar to recalculate and adjust its settings to deliver a weapon effectively.
So Captain Wilson escape the ZEADRUX Fights deadly grasp or risk it all
Yes, I am in survival mode because the enemy is locked onto my airplane. That's as vulnerable as you get in the end air-to-air dogfight.
So Unless Captain Cloud acts quickly, you doesn't have a chance.
Yes that's the point I am in pure defensive mode, and now I turn it over to my wingman Captain Paul Cloud, who is about five miles behind me and closing in fast. He sees the same thing that I see. He locks the lead ZEADRUX fighter and then takes up a shot with his missiles. Seconds later, Captain Cloud my wingman's heat-seeking warhead missile reaches the ZEADRUX fighter, man! great fire works. [EXPLOSION]
So you had more trouble coming? Yes my Fighter radar Just picked up four more Alien bogey's. This time, it was a 5 to 2, Wilson and his wingman. you two had to fight for their lives.
"We had no choice. We had to confront the enemies quickly because more enemy bogey's. were likely on the way. Destroying any human aircraft would be a significant achievement for an alien pilot."
So you, Wilson and Cloud had the advantage of technology on your side. The ZEADRUX fighter engaged in a high-stakes aerial duel, each trying to outmaneuver the human, but with no success. First ZEADRUX fighter insight. Wilson fired, Splash 2.
SPLASH two!
And Suddenly, another ZEADRUX fighter dove toward the deck below, attempting to evade the human fighter, radar. Captain Cloud released his drone fighter and remained with Wilson's wing. Thirty seconds later, "splash 3" was reported.
Yes we got our Splash 3.
So this made it a 4 – 2 match up!
At that point, I suspected that the ZEADRUX fighter knew their chances were getting slimmer. I released my clone drone, fooling their radar into thinking it was a 4-3 matchup.
Great, So Wilson watches the ZEADRUX fighter take a hard turn upward, but it's too late to escape the downward momentum. The Clone Drone gave chase. 55 seconds later SPLASH 4!
Sweet that was our Splash 4! You could see the other three ZEADRUX fighter hitting their after-burners as they start back to their base.
So you two, Captain Wilson and Cloud activating your afterburners as well, you two were head back to the neutral zone and for home. Thinking your day was over, so you two had more guests to arrive.
Heck yeah, So we are heading back to the neutral zone at a very high speed. Our radar showed 6 red dots approaching. 6 bogey's inbound and taking a high-speed chase to stop us before we crossed back to the Neutral zone.
So you two were high-tail out of the ZEADRUX sector, the 6 ZEADRUX cruisers were closing in fast, with their weapons firing. All of a sudden, the 6 cruisers stopped, ceased firing, and powered down their ships? So you two were still burning back to base.
Yeah we were hauling butts!
We all saw the camera View zooms out, we like for all of you to see what happen and why the Zeadrux ended their chase. you understand why the 6 cruisers stop their pursuit. The Human 9th Fleets stood ready at the border for any alien warship to cross into the Human Sector.
In the end those diplomatic conclusion by doing their job.
I think i could here the Zeadrux now
THE DAMN HUMANS!

2024.05.15 10:22 Singed-Chan Ladies and Gentlemen: Fleeting Nobility Chipset Rush

First up your ethics don't matter but I'm partial to fanatic authoritarian personally, second ethic REALLY doesn't matter but xenophile, militarist, xenophobe and pacifist are all hot contenders.
Second of all you're gonna wanna be Overtuned. Start with Thrifty + the new Commercial Genius overtuned trait. You're gonna wanna stay quite small early and if you can spawn in a secluded cluster with one chokepoint, GOOD, because the early game is all about staying small and quiet and minding your own business.
Now I know what you're thinking, Merchant Guilds, right? No, you're gonna need a lot of stability for what comes next, and you're gonna be swimming in nobles before you know it - It's thematic with the ascension you're going to go for, so for stylepoints, influencing draw weights and stability, go Aristocratic Elite and whatever second civic you like - I go Oppressive Autocracy because I'm a fucking gremlin.
Early game, unity rush, homeworld is half labs, half administrative offices, grab a trade world and a factory world. Civilian Economy, obviously, and buy your minerals and rely on space mining/arc furnaces as best you can. Go Marketplace of Ideas instead of the usual Consumer Benefits, so you can grab cybernetic as fast as humanly possible and immediately grind it out and rush Imperial Chipset advanced authority at the end. Once you've got cybernetic all done you can switch to consumer benefits and reform that factory world into a sorely needed forge world.
Now immediately engineer your species to be as short-lived as possible. Grab all three -30 year lifespan traits and focus on border defense as you cook. Set the game to very fast and remain inwardly focused while you blitz through as many governor rulers as possible - Aristocratic Elite and Imperial government will give you a high weight for your heirs to be governors, which is what you want, but even if you roll 'bad' and get a scientist or commander, the permanent buffs from them are still great and you'll wanna catch 'em all eventually. You can't lose!
Grab as many mechanical pop trait points as you can and just keep diminishing the life expectancy of your squabbling noble houses so they don't even have time to plot against eachother, they barely have time to make a decree before they're toast.
Rush orbital rings and get a noble estate on every ring and before you know it you'll have 6-8 nobles on your worlds + 2 politicians + whatever other ruler adding buildings you might have provide.
Once you've sufficiently stacked your chipset, engineer your burned out species into something actually effective and start buying those lifespan techs that you're probably sorely behind on.
Congrats, you're now free to reform your civics into whatever you want, pick great traits and reformat your empire into something sensible, but with +25% resources from all jobs, +25% research speed and +25% damage on ships.
Can it be abused better? More minmaxy? Sure. Cook up a more minmaxed rush variant of this, I'll be over here in my tophat and monocle laughing all the way to the bank, only to die in transit.

Nikola, the only student at his school: “I mind the goats and play chess”. Travel notes from Kosovo and Metohija.
Nikola Stankovic
“Have a good trip! Will you be so kind to bring me a chess set the next time you come? A deal?” This is what Nikola Stankovic told us when we parted the last time as we were leaving Slivova near Pristina. This is the place we return to once the opportunity presents itself.
It’s true that we come here often—to the suburb of the once glorious city of Pristina, once the intellectual, industrial, and cultural center of our Kosovo… People used to come here from everywhere, as the city attracted professors, engineers, writers, and artists. Before, Pristina was known for its flourishing cultural life, just as today it’s buzzing with commercial and shopping activity—full of intrusive and aggressive advertising by foreign companies, probably the only ones who benefit from the war. “Nuk ka me Pristine” (Albanian)—“Pristina is no more!” was the title of a novel published on the twentieth anniversary of the “March pogrom“ of Serbs. Serbs remember how yesterday’s neighbors, colleagues, and friends chased them out of their then Serbian city.
Things are no better in the suburbs of Pristina; they are completely cut off from the city. The nearby villages are dying out, standing isolated from the outside world and kept away from the blessings of civilization. Many Serbs were forced to leave or flee their homes. Many of them have died. Many of their houses were burned down… The tiny village of Slivova is a place where you can still hear people speak Serbian.
A Serbian school for a single student
“It used to be so wonderful here before the war! People worked in factories and in agriculture. Our village was bustling with life and there were a lot of children. I had more than twenty students in my class, and we are talking about a village school! But these days, after the war… Consider it a desert; everyone has moved or fled away,” Nikola's father tells us. He speaks of Serbs when he says “everyone,” as with every passing day, more and more Albanians settle into Slivova. For a long time now, the village is more than half Albanian. They come from the city in search of a quiet life and clean air, and they firmly settle here. I asked if there were any clashes. No, he replies, not yet, but who knows.
Basically, why would they want clashes when Serbs are already on the move, leaving their homeland behind. “Soon we will be left all alone. Our children have no future here. My older sons, for example, have long been living and working elsewhere.”
Nikola, the third son and the only school student in Slivova, is in seventh grade. We ask our old friend how he is doing.
“I mind the goats and play chess. Sometimes I look after Dragan, my younger brother (there are four brothers in his family), but he doesn't always listen to me!”
A young shepherd. A kind one
We are walking with our seventh-grader to his school, now located in a house left behind by a Serb. Since 1999, Serbian children never returned to their classes in their old school. It is the result of the “optimization of Serbian education,” the Kosovar way. We “snatched” Nikola for a short while—pulling him away from his herd. His youngest brother Dragan worthily replaced his brother in the line of shepherd duty. We sat down with him on a bench nearby to play a game of chess, Nikola’s favorite pastime. He admitted, embarrassed, that he sometimes played chess with his teacher at his “new” school, as well. But once he entered high school grades, he played against the computer, his main rival. It is not much of a conversation partner, but at least it offers an interesting game of chess.
We met Nikola for the first time three years ago. He won’t make friends with you lightly, or for no reason at all; it took him a while to grow accustomed to us. Village folk are like that. But once they get to know you, you can’t find a better friend. It was the same this time. When he saw us, he didn't say much, but his eyes shone with such joy that no words were necessary. And he is always trying to give us gifts.
“I recently went to a soccer game in Gracanica; my dad took me there. It was really great! Teachers come to the village every day, well, to teach me. So, I'm learning. What else can I do?”
Nikola
Nikola is one of our “trailblazers”. He took part in the summer school camp organized last year for Serbian children from Kosovo and Metohija by our charity organization called “Kosovo Pomoravlje.” Everything went well, but, as we have noticed, these children couldn’t get enough of playing soccer with their peers from other ghettos. For them, soccer is an important thing, a way to interact, no matter how you cut it. We asked him if he’s going to attend our summer school this year.
“I sure will! Only if you have more soccer time!”
We finish the chess game and say our goodbyes. We leave Nikola with his herd, kings and queens, and a chessboard under his armpit. We already know what we’ll bring him when, God willing, we come here next time: soccer cleats and a football. We wave and honk… and hope that we will be able to bring together the boys and girls from the enclaves of Kosovo and Metohija in our summer school. And yes, they’ll have more soccer time there—we’ve learned our lesson well.
