Hey anybody! Have anything to say about anything you saw? Drop it here.
Delirium (1972) Giallo about a doctor who is committing sex murders, feels guilty and sets himself up to be caught. During the set up at a public park, another murder takes place across the way, clearing the doctor. Did he imagine he was killing the girls? Is he crazy? Are there two killers? With Mickey Hargitay and lots of pretty girls, including Rita Calderoni. Confusing, but very good! (Blu-ray)
Blood Delirium (1988) An artist who believes he's the reincarnation of Van Gogh tries to regain his spark from a woman who looks just like his dead wife, but he doesn't find it until he starts painting with human blood. Like Buio Omega meets Color Me Blood Red, plus ghosts! This Italian sleazefest is completely bonkers and must be seen to be believed. (Blu-ray)
Colt .38 Special Squad (1976) A secret police team is assembled to take down Ivan Rassimov and his gang of bank robbin' terrorist bombers. Look for Grace Jones as a lounge singer! From Massimo (What Have You Done to Solange) Dallamano. (Blu-ray)
Kongo (1932) Walter Huston is a disfigured cripple in Africa who tricks a tribe into thinking he is a god with common magician tricks. Lupe Velez shines as is his sex slave in a dress that is always an inch from falling off. In an 18 year revenge plot, he kidnaps the daughter of the man who crippled him, puts her in a monastery until she's grown, then after a 2 year stint in forced prostitution, he keeps her like an animal, feverish and perpetually drunk. A drug-crazed white doctor who happens upon them is the girl's would-be savior...if he can keep off the damn dope! This pre-code gem, that is a remake of Tod Browning/ Lon Chaney's West of Zanzibar from 1928. This movie was INSANE, I loved every second of it, even on the third watch. (TCM/cable)
Konga (1961) Camp classic starring Micheal Gough, who hams it up brilliantly as a scientist/college professor who finds rapid growing carnivorous plants in Africa, and uses them to make a serum that will cause rapid growth in mammals. The test subject is an adorable baby chimp, Konga, who after one dose turns into an adult chimp, and a second, somehow, transforms him into a seven-foot gorilla. He changed species! Gough uses mind control on the ape to kill his enemies, a school dean who frowns on his work, a rival scientist who claims to have discovered the serum before him, etc. A fourth dose of the serum makes him grow uncontrollably, first around 20 feet, and topping out at what appears to be over 50! Produced by Herman Cohen (I Was a Teenage Werewolf, Horrors of the Black Museum, and dozens more (MeTV/Cable, Svengoolie)
and Holy Jeez, 30 Coins season one, how the fuck did I miss the boat on that? Legit one of the best season-show I've ever seen. Better than Exorcist on FOX, and I fuckin loved that.

2023.10.11 21:02 SemataryPolka Best 2023 hardcore albums
I have been listening to hardcore for 30 years and still love new hardcore, altho at times it's hard to keep up on my own. So I need recs for this year's best hardcore releases. I'm pretty well up to date with the last five years so really just want 2023 unless you think it's possible it flew under the radar. I'll also accept post-hardcore if it's relatively aggressive (basically the way post-hardcore was in the 90s, not 2000s mallcore stuff.) Thanks in advance. To give you an idea of my tastes, some of my current 2023 favs on my radar are:
Anklebiter
Angel Du$t
Phantom Bay
Nowheres
Initiate
Fiddlehead
Militarie Gun
Drain
Taking Meds
Scalp
Magnitude
Incendiary
Jeromes Dream
Riot Stares
Show Me The Body (I grew up with Iceburn - I'm not afraid of weird hardcore) (EDIT: Oops this was 2022)
Big Laugh
Move
Pain Of Truth
Buio Omega
Zulu
Etc etc etc

2023.04.07 03:47 StrictlyfortheSickly My collection has been packed away in my closet for a few years and I’m finally settled in and putting together a media/movie room. Here’s some nasty ones for the freaks on here. Buio Omega (Beyond the Darkness, Buried Alive) is an absolute favorite. These Midnight Video bootlegs were the coolest.
