Where do I even begin. Starting with the paid cruise parking in Genoa, there were absolutely no signs or indications of where to find the entrance, except for an African American gentlemen roaming the streets near the port, stopping cars and offering to explain where the parking entrance is for monetary compensation. Next thing to note, if you don't purchase the alcohol package, the only things included will be chlorine water and coffee in the cafeteria, which tend to constantly run out during busy times. Bottled water, soft drinks, etc is not included and you will be required to pay for everything. Moreover, MSC Splendida tried to charge us the 60 euro service charge per person twice. We purchased our tickets through the American website where the service fee is automatically included in the price, however it didn't stop MSC from billing us an additional 120 euros at the end of our trip. We had to go to the reception and deal with an unpleasant worker who at first refused to help and showed us a lot of attitude. We were required to find and show a proof of our payment for them to consider removing the secondary service charge. No apology was offered whatsoever. We were traveling with 8 people and 4 of our group received food poisoning during the cruise. Which caused us to spend the day vomiting instead of exploring our stop in Rome. But as it turned out later, we didn't even miss out since the ship wasn't docking anywhere near Rome. Our stop was actually in Civitaveccia which is an almost 2 hour one way train ride to Rome, due to which MSC didn't even offer any transportation options for the day, as it would be merely impossible to see anything and make it back on the ship in time. And the icing on the cake, our MYBMW app showed that the trunk of our car was being opened hours after we left our car at the "secure" paid MSC parking lot. We emailed the company about this incident, but unsurprisingly received no answer. The disembarkation process was well organized and worked smoothly. Contrary to the parking lot, the signage to the escalator and exit was clear. We walked towards the escalator accordingly. What I really disliked was the MSC employee who shouted at us on the escalator. In her loud and unfriendly verbal outburst, she wanted us to listen to her. It was inappropriate, unnecessary and disrespectful. The fact that all the car keys from the parking lot were spread out on a table was dubious and, in my opinion, unsafe.

Searching for the "one" isnt easy, but what can we do aye? First things first, to throw some random bits of info out there about me! (Info dump incoming 😂)
I'm 24 and biracial! Half Irish and half African/northern Indian, and I'm living in the UK!
I'm approximately 6'0"-6'1" in height and id say an average/kept build. I also have somewhat long-ish hair for a guy, going near my shoulders, it's naturally straight! I also have a well kept somewhat shorter and neat beard :) I also have very fair skin. I guess I took physically more from one side of my heritage 😂🤌 I'm also a Muslim lad! So just putting that out there too for the sake of it.
I do enjoy binging on junk food but between my high metabolism and my physically active job working as an electrician (which I'm trying to fully establish myself in) I tend to never put any weight on 🤷
So! What am I looking for? Well it's a long shot. I'd like to imagine something like the female version of myself. My other half. Someone I find attractive, kind, easy going, fun to get along with, can hold a conversation without making it feel like a one sided effort and chore. Etc!

You have hiking and the likes as well as going out with friends and driving around at night with them, but then you also have gaming which is a huge hobby of mine!!

Washing your meat and rice. For those of you who can’t even imagine not doing so, do you never eat out?
Coz no restaurant (at least in the US) does that unless it’s a specific ethnic joint (soul food, Caribbean, African and some Asian).
The rest of those restaurants never wash their meat or rice.
(FYI, I wash them when I cook at home but I’m not as grossed out as some of y’all if others don’t).

I'm writing a short novel and I'm having the hardest time finding a country and cities that would be good for setting. It's supposed to be a very light romance novel with a lot of travelling, like half of it is just about the journey to get to the destination and the culture, and I have a picture in mind of some far away, hot, dry, even deserty country, with these beautiful buildings, crowded bazaars and so on. Something Eastern or African. The whole vibe in my head is a bit like watching Aladdin as a kid; just a magical arabian nights-like thing with a few fairytale elements mixed into reality. So far so good, but the plot limits my choices a lot. Here's context:
Female lead is invited to X country by one of her university friends to her wedding. She loves travelling, loves foreign cultures, travelled solo a lot, SO she turns down the help offered by her friends and decides that she will get there by herself, which leads to all kinds of trouble and inconveniences. (She's not entirely stupid - this is not Emily in Paris - but slightly underprepared and also just facing a bunch of trouble because of ahem, me xd.) She gets to city A of this country by plane or something, but then she is kinda forced to take this awfully long and uncomfortable bus ride to get to city B, where her friend is from and the wedding will take place. On this bus ride she meets the male lead, they also end up seated together, and while at first they annoy each other, he practically becomes like a guardian for her, helping and protecting her in many cases. bla bla bla, story goes on.
Problem: I just can't find a good location. One reason, as I explained, I have a concept in my head, which I have to locate somewhere. Rich, colorful culture, intricate architecture, the traditional clothing, the food, a grand festivity around the wedding etc. But two, I have this looong bus ride in the plot. I want it to be a plausible choice, or even, the only choice. So no planes between city A and B? And the landscape, as I mentioned at the beginning.
I'm open to any suggestion, any idea, and especially from people who live in African or Eastern countries. You guys definitely know better as it is your country, your culture. Thank you everyone in advance!

Hi!! I’ll be traveling to MX city the first week of july! This will be my first solo trip and i’m excited to check the city out. I love mexican culture and really have been drawn to explore there.Things i’m hoping to do are hot air balloon for my birthday, check out some of their libraries, museums, food!- those are the main things. others are: pyramids, indoor climbing, dance/cooking class, day trip somewhere maybe near some water!

I need some help my fellow South Africans. I am a teacher at an international school abroad and the school is hosting an international day where the teachers have to make food that represents their country.
The problem is, it has to be enough for 250ish people, with a very limited budget, and no access to our local ingredients I am used to. I need some ideas of what I can make for this special day. It should only be like a taster and I need to make it myself with the help from another SA teacher. It should also be only one type of dish or many smaller ones.

Some cities are like forests - they grow on their own, spreading towards water, rising tall towards the sun. You can see the old growth, ancient and covered by moss, the broad swatches left by the fires, the fresh saplings of the growing housing.
Some cities are like ships. Even standing still, they embark on the journey across the world. Their citizen-crew comes and goes, always building, repairing, maintaining, stitching up the sails of the marketplace awnings. And their underside is dark, slimy, encrusted with barnacles and in need of cleaning.
Some cities are planned and built. Even when the last stone is set and the last shingle put in place, you still see the ink on paper, the precise lines plotted with the ruler and compass. If you look up, you may glimpse the eye of an architect looking at their creation.
And some cities are divine bodies, the vestiges of the power and the will of their planners, and the receptacle of the belief. In the words of Saint Vivec: They add new doors to me and I become effortlessly trans-immortal with the comings and goings and the stride-heat of the market where I am traded for, yell of the children hear them play, scoffed at, amused, desired, paid for in native coin, new minted with my face on one side and my city-body on the other. Such cities are rare gems, and everyone knows their names. White-Gold, the dissected structure of Ayleid soul, circles upon circles, the mapping of heavens imposed on the islands of the Earthbones. Falinesti, a slow wandering giant, the reminder of what the world may have looked in the times of the first Elhnofey. Vivec, the lie turned into the truth and held off by the love to itself.
Few of us dreamed to witness the act of urban apotheosis in our lifetime. And yet, if you go down the Niben river, you will arrive to it - the recently built Port Katariah. It is not shaped in vulgar symmetry, but neither does it follow the landscape slavishly. If seen from above, the city would look like a giant hook, puling a piece of land into the Niben River. The handle of the hook is a breakwater, terminating in a giant lighthouse.
The whole architecture of the city is massive and solid, with sloped walls, oblique angles, windowless outer surfaces of gray ash-cement. Covered walkways, blunted pyramids of the housing quarters. Dunmer may say it is a memory of Vivec's ziggurats, but in actuality, the inspiration was taken from the ancient blueprints of Reman's lunar settlement. Designed to withstand the magica storms of the outer Aetherus, it serves well against the weathers of the Topal Bay. Whether it will be a seasonal rain that doesn't let up for months, or the giant waves brought by the clashing currents.
The inside of the housing pyramids is the direct opposite of the outside. The brutal angularity is broken down into the mer-men-sized cozyness of a cave. The clever narrow window-slits of Alteration-infused crystal are not seen from the outside, but give a perfect view of the waves breaking against the walls of the city even in the worst storm. Together with the dampening of the sound - for the corridors are both designed and enchanted with Illusion to not spread even the softest echo - it creates an impression as otherworldly as any Daedric realm.
All taken together, the city is the perfect embodiment of the worship and belief of our Potentate. A contradiction thrust upon itself, a hardened ash-shell protecting the luxurious gardens. YgM: It took some arrogance and stupidity to choose the only place on the coast where the waves can get higher than the trees, and put the city there. I had this dream recently, it was very detailed. Like the plot of a movie. I can't stop thinking about it. I wish I had kept dreaming to learn more... Came here because I had to document it.
My dream;
I was an observer, not a participant. I was transported back to ancient Egypt. There was a confrence of sorts. A large body of people, maybe a governmental body? had gathered to hear a person make the case to the Queen that he knew how to find and access an ancient treasure. From my perspective, I got to see over his shoulder as he showed a map to the Queen. The place in question was a weathered and worn pyramid like structure that was more akin to a massive mound or a small mountain. It was somewhere within the borders of Egypt, in the wilds. But this man knew where it was, he was an engineer or something. Excitedly he explained how they could access the chamber inside the top of this mountain. He showed diagrams of the tunneling they would undertake, to dig up from the base of the mountain and into the chamber from below. He explained that there were already small cave systems with entries at the base of the mountain, which indicated to him that this was indeed the site of ancient activity, and from which he would gain a great advantage in his endeavor.
From my 3rd person perspective, I could see what he was talking about clearly. And indeed, an ancient chamber existed in what appeared to be a mountain that was roughly the shape of a steep pyramid. I was unable to discern what lay inside. As the Queen blessed off on his plans, and the congress of people within the large gathering area began to approach in order to better acquaint themselves with the plan, I was suddenly transported to an even more ancient time.
Now, keep in mind I started this journey in ancient Egypt. So, from this point I transported thousands of years further into the past. I was under the impression that it had been 25,000 years prior to the scene I had just witnessed.
Now I was suddenly observing the ancient civilization that had created the chamber. I sensed I was in the same region that would someday be Egypt. The land was verdant and deep green with long grasses and dotted with trees, not unlike a very lush savannah. The temperature was balmy. Greens with a brilliant blue sky dominated the scene. In the distance dark brown rocky spires rose out of the landscape, dotted on the tops and upon their outcroppings hung trees and grasses.
My focus settled on a cluster of large, pyramid-like structures. I saw these from above as the new scene came into my focus and observation. The structures were, as I said, Pyramid like. But imagine the wire structure of a pyramid. They weren't solid. Vertically, the pyramid was segmented into 2 or 3 tiers of broad walkways. The walkways formed a square. In the middle were the stairways that led up to the various tiers of walkways. All elements of the structures were broad. The beams that made up the four edges were made a very thick, dark gray material. Like a carbon fiber. The walkway floors were like a dark tinted transparent material, with side walls/rails that were made of the same material as the walkways. There were four stairways from the ground that led up to an intermediate platform, where the stairways reversed direction up to the walkways, therefore each ground stairway entry onto the intermediate platform was flanked on either side by a set of stairs leading the opposite way up to the main platforms.
On the broad walkways/platforms, which were open in the middle to look down at the intermediate platform/stairways below, were people. Humans. Working and living on the platforms. It appeared that there were vendors and shops/kiosks. There also appeared to be living accommodations either out in the open or sheltered in smaller sub structures. The pyramid was massive, with ample room for several 100's of people. I never got close enough to see in detail the people themselves, but they wore what appeared to be modern clothing, and in many cases what appeared to be dark gray uniforms. I didn't see the details, but I sensed vehicles at the base of the pyramid, with worn paths through the grasses off to points in the distance and other similar pyramids in the vicninity.
From my perspective, it seemed there were 3 to 4 of these structures in the area. In the back of my head, I was aware that this region contained the only human activity on the surface on the planet.
I was also aware of the presence of a large body of water. An ocean somewhere in the distance.
Without transition I was suddenly looking at the ancient mound that had been in question at the beginning of my dream. Except it wasn't ancient. It was manufactured and sculpted by human hands. It was made as much out of rock as it was the same material I saw at the modern pyramids, I had this awareness that the material was transitioning to rock, as if it adopted the properties of the materials it was attached to. It seemed as if they had somehow shaved down a larger mountain to affect the shape that they had sought. The chamber had large slits around the circumference (the chamber within was round) which let light in and in some cases allowed one to look out at the surrounding landscape.
I was made aware of a family as I took in this scene. The family apparently were the caretakers of this facility. Two adults and two children. They seemed happy. The parents both wore the uniform I had seen earlier. It was sharp, and colored dark grey with light grey accents. They had a living quarter that was affixed to the side of the facility in a way I couldn't quite understand. The structure also seemed metalic but not the same material as I had seen thus far. In this part of the dream I became well acquainted to them, not personally, but in understanding their day to day activities, giving way to my understanding of them as caretakers.
As my perspective moved through the facility I realized there was not yet a treasure, but what appeared to be supplies for a colony. Lots of cans of fuel and food stuffs and other random equipment that I couldn't understand the use of. From my 3rd person perspective I understood that this would be the site that the future Egyptians would eventually access, and indeed there would be some valuable treasure, the contents of which eluded my understanding, held within this very chamber after it had long been sealed.
I got to see the detailed life of this family, and interestingly their living accomodation which as I said was somehow affixed to the side of the chamber in a way that I couldn't discern or undesrtand, which itself was atop the mountain/structure. Beyond, visible through the large windows of their living quarters was the ocean that I had sensed earlier. Their living chamber was large and spacious. The side opposite the chamber was facing a dark greenish/gray roiling ocean, with yet still more spires in the distance sticking out of its waves - except these were dark grey, craggy and devoid of any vegetation. The waves that crashed at their bases seemed angry. I understood immediately that this was an ancient ocean that would not exist during the time of the Egyptians
I was surprised to see a platform outside the large windows which docked vehicles. They appeared to be classic ATVs (like your average four-wheel ATV with handlebars) except these vehicles, despite their four wheels had some apparatus affixed to it, around its entire circumference that I immediately understood allowed this vehicle to fly using some method I could not understand. There was a name brand affixed to what I understood to be the gas tank, a name which I can't recall. But it indicated mass production and greater civilization.
I was suddenly aware of the presence of multiple chamber mountains on either side of the one I was observing, and each had a care-taker family with one or multiple of these vehicles. And still, it felt like there could be more facilities that I was not aware of. For some reason, having observed these vehicles I suddenly came to an understanding that the presence of these people, and the infrastructure they had built, was in support of some sort of mining or extraction. That everything was one collective enterprise. I was not privy to what it was, or how involved it was, how long it would take or had taken to that point. But I did have the sudden understanding that, though these were humans, they were not from earth. That this was a mining colony that had a certain amount of time to accomplish whatever it was they were sent here to extract.
Simultaneously, I was able to understand vaguely a connection between this people, and future humans. Without understanding the details, I discerned that this group would eventually leave, and the landscape would be altered forever. They would leave a presence on earth, whether by accident, or on purpose, it was unclear to me.
That presence would be the progenitors of modern humans and human civilization as we currently know it. It seemed apparent to me that whatever contingent was left behind after this enterprise would have very little in the way of the technology that I was observing.
This gave me the distinct suspicion that the people who were left were done so by some tragic mistake. But their stories, passed down from generation to generation would at the very least influence the ancient Egyptians. So much so that they themselves would try to emulate the pyramids they had come to understand had existed through the tribal knowledge passed down through generations. And that future peoples would understand that untold wealth and knowledge existed deep within the ancient mountains that had been carved out by the progenitors, thus the initial scenes of my dream where one man and his team of engineers had narrowed down their search and had pinpointed such a mountain, and devised a way that would allow them to access said treasure.
What that treasure would be remained unclear to me throughout the entire dream.
My dream slowly decayed into other less interesting and focused things until I woke up. The progenitors stuck with me and I felt compelled to write it out as it was so fascinating. I had to share.

Genre: Top-down Zoo Simulator game, but like a 3/4ths angle?
Estimated year of release: 2010-2016
Graphics/art style: The UI had a blue background, and the animals, People, and plants were fairly realistic, if not simplified since you never really had to see them up close. Typical cheap 3D Graphics for the time. There wasn't a lot of Shading on objects, the colors were fairly flat.
Notable characters: I believe the tutorial was told to you by a woman in a ponytail, either blonde or brunette. She and maybe a Male partner would give you daily quests? But other than that there wasn't any real people. The male either had black hair, or he was old and gray, and they both were wearing typical zookeeper attire. The Woman's name might start with a K.
Notable gameplay mechanics: It was a Zoo Simulator, and you would play each day out, with a dark 'dusk' period before you would open for the day and you would use that extra time to take care of animals and build things without people in the way, though you could still do that even during the day. You could pay for advertisements on Newspaper, Television, and Radio to get more visitors the next day. You weren't able to Remove fences, nor would the fences break over time. You would have to check the animals health, because they would get sick. The Tutorial would always start with you Building an enclosure for an African Buffalo. Sometimes you were given an animal from the wild who was sick and you would have a few days to take care of them before they were sent back to the wild, Or you kept them and the time limit was just to make sure you had a habitat ready for them. Also they would be super sick when they arrived and wouldn't be happy.
Other details: The App Icon was a panda, just like a model of the whole body in the Top-down 3/4ths perspective. When I got the game, it came in a box set with other Simulator game discs. One of them was a forest ranger game, which was 1st person pov, and there were no other humans and it creeped me out, walking in the woods with no real map or anything. There were a total of 5 or 6 other games that came with, but the zoo was my favorite, and I only remember the forest one because it scared me. I believe one of them was a Carnival Simulator. The title of the game starts with 'My' or 'Your' like 'My/Your Zoo World' or 'My/Your Zoo Simulator'. I remember the animals getting sick all the time, and I'd have to check my animals every two hours in game time. you were able to see how far the food/waterestroom/gift stalls were able to reach, like their zone od effectiveness. You could click on a person and they would have a name and you could see their thoughts about whatever they were looking at. There were research centers for discovering animals and a research center to "level up" your animals, to make them less likely to get sick/more fertile to help with engagement animals
It isn't Zoo Tycoon, Empires, Paradise, My Free Zoo, or Zoo Planet, I've already looked at them and they aren't it.

Its that time in the game again, tomorrow ingame, the obelisk will fall and I will be entering full lockdown until the pyramid arrives. I have spent at least 1k on stuff to do up there, I will only be going down to the base if I run short on food, and I wont even be doing that if any of the Wispsare around.

I'm 24 and biracial! Half Irish and half African/northern Indian, and I'm living in the UK!
I'm approximately 6'0"-6'1" in height and id say an average/kept build. I also have somewhat long-ish hair for a guy, going near my shoulders, it's naturally straight! I also have a well kept somewhat shorter and neat beard :) I also have very fair skin. I guess I took physically more from one side of my heritage 😂🤌 I'm also a Muslim lad! So just putting that out there too for the sake of it.
I do enjoy binging on junk food but between my high metabolism and my physically active job working as an electrician (which I'm trying to fully establish myself in) I tend to never put any weight on 🤷
So! What am I looking for? Well it's a long shot. I'd like to imagine something like the female version of myself. My other half. Someone I find attractive, kind, easy going, fun to get along with, can hold a conversation without making it feel like a one sided effort and chore. Etc!
