2024.05.14 22:49 GoblinPunch20xx Who would you be?

Congratulations! You’re the newest member of the X-MEN, recruited or called up from a “farm team” like The New Mutants, X-Factor, Gen X, Hellions, etc. You are also given clearance for wet work as part of X-FORCE. Based on your personality traits, physical attributes and skills and the life you’ve lived so far IRL, what are your mutant powers, what’s your code name, what are you bringing to the team, and are you more of an Xavier / Emma / Jean / Scott type recruit, or more of an Apocalypse / Magneto / Mystique / Exodus “true believer” in mutant supremacy? Be as detailed and serious or quick and quippy as you like! This is not about the powers you WISH you had, but trying to “accurately” convey something about your true self as an expression of mutant abilities. Essentially building a self insert OC.
I’ll go first. I’m bipolar and I have ADHD so my sense of time and my biorhythms are easily thrown off and I need a lot of good quality sleep to self regulate. My mood swings pretty frequently but I control it pretty well. I’m a big guy, kinda hairy and muscular but with a dad bod. I feel like this could mean I have a physical mutation like Beast or Sabertooth, but no claws or healing factor, and my abilities fluctuate, manifesting in short bursts based on mood, or like when I get angry my bio-electric field forms a shield around my body and amps up my reflexes, but I get very sleepy after each use. Because of my ADHD (IRL) sometimes I have something called “time blindness” which means it feels like time is not real, or moves very slowly, or too fast. Maybe I would have limited ability to manipulate people’s perception of time without really manipulating time itself…?
IDK…I’d be like a Sasquatch or a Wookie type mutant who can mess with your perception of time and has a limited protective bioelectric force field. Aesthetic mutation, primary mutation, secondary mutation. My character would tend to be kinda sleepy, lazy, called into action as needed and then put back on the bench. Essentially kind hearted but with a great capacity for physical violence, probably a low tier member of X-FORCE. Believer in both Magneto and Apocalypse’s style of leadership. Probably the type of mutant who also uses tech and guns and knives and has poorly drawn feet and big Shoulder Pads. I’d be the “Grizzly” of this new X-FORCE team. My mutant codename would be “Big Ben.”

2024.05.14 22:48 Background-Ad-914 Sniper glint is worse than no sniper glint

Sniper glint is easily the best example of mechanic done wrong. The idea of giving snipers a big hey you’re being sniped at is amazing and was a much needed change- but the big ass flashlight that entirely blocks their character model so you can’t shoot them back is the worst way to implement this idea. Genuinely no reason for it to be that large and bright.
A better option would be the lock-on pistol effect where your entire screen gets dark when someone is ADS’ing at you. They had the perfect mechanic on the wrong gun and threw it away with the gun.

Is this an okay local tournament List?
Hi All,
I've entered a local 1,500 point tournament and could use some advice on my list. I'm especially unsure about the detachment; I would be grateful for advice on the most effective detachment for this list.
I know that necrons are popular here so I'm like to face at least one necrons list. As a note, I could change out firewarior's weapons to make them into breachers but I don't own any devilfish.

2024.05.14 22:27 Ok_Zone_7635 Was Oscar Morales the most badass character in any JP story?

Was Oscar Morales the most badass character in any JP story?
Oscar Morales is a supporting character in the TellTale click-and-point Jurassic Park game.
He is a mercenary sent to Isla Nublar to rescue any InGen staff left behind from the park disaster that takes place after the first film.
As someone who considers Roland Tembo the coolest character in the entire live action Jurassic Park saga, I think Oscar gives him a run for his money.
While Morales might come across as just a dumb Grunt-for-hire, he is actually really formidable and can get himself out of tight situations.
His claim to fame is when he encounters a lone velociraptor in the underground labyrinth that leads to the Geothermal reactor.
While Roland could make quick work of any dinosaur with guns, Oscar took on a velociraptor with only a knife...and won.
I'd also like to point out he actually surprised the pack leader of the raptors and slashed its face, triggering a fear response from the animal.
You read that right. Oscar Morales is the only human to ever frighten a velociraptor.
Even his brutal death doesn't lose him any badass points, simply for the fact he knew he was going to die, but helped the others anyway.
His death is very similiar to Udesky and Howard Kind. His back gets rip to shreds by raptors.
It sucks that his death mirrors that of two of the franchises most pathetic characters.
But with all due respect to Roland, Muldoon, Owen, and Eddie; I think Oscar has y'all beat in the badass department.

2024.05.14 22:16 CPTN_Chuckles Fathomless warlock feat help

Hi all! I'm a fathomless warlock sea elf. We just hit level 4 and on top of ASI I get to pick a feat.
A few things to note We're in a piracy campaign that's like a mix of water world and one piece very lightly.
I have a devil fruit power that let's me be as light as a feather or 10kg on top of some other little features.
I am pact of the tome , I tool gust of wind ( for air travel when light as a feather ) and guidance and one other cantrip I'm forgetting.
I'm mainly ranged and use eldritch blast. I'm also usually the crafty( like tricks and deception)/utility character.
I'm looking at what feats to choose and I've hit an impasse I'm open to more suggestions ( my cha is like 18 I believe) I've been thinking
Eldritch adept Fey touched Telekinetic Skilled Spell sniper
I'm not sure which is the best right now or rather which would allow me to be even more flexible than a blasting machine gun

Any Update on scope issue?
I just published my first ever creative map. I don’t have a PC that can handle UEFN, so I used my PlayStation to build a capture the flag game for my family and I to play.
Saw that this issue could be tied to creative 1.0 but without UEFN, don’t know what my options are.
Details Character head blocking view on certain scopes.
System: PS5
Steps to recreate: Start a game in creative, add a holo 1.3 or red dot scope to a chapter 5 gun. This is happening on all of them

2024.05.14 21:30 popsfootloose949 New MVS Speculation: Boomerang Theory

Credit to MultiverSusie on Twitter for pointing this cross-promo out initially!
On May 28th and 29th, Boomerang will be airing specific programming for the launch of MultiVersus. Breaking down the Adventure Time episodes alone clued me into the fact that these episodes seem HIGHLY relevant for future speculation. Let's call this "Boomerang Theory."
The Rules for Boomerang Theory
Even though clues may be present for properties like Looney Tunes, Popeye, and Scooby-Doo, I personally consider it to be unlikely to come to any informed speculation regarding shows that air on Boomerang daily. There are some exceptions,, but for right now I am only focusing in on the shows specifically coming to Boomerang for the event.
Shows #1-2: Taz-Mania and Duck Dodgers
Movie #1: Aloha, Scooby-Doo!
Movie #2: Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold
Show #3: Teen Titans Go!
Show #4: Adventure Time - SPOILERS!
Show #5: Steven Universe - SPOILERS!

2024.05.14 21:08 HoovesMateHooves [PS1][1990s] Shirtless commando guy 3rd person shooter

Platform PlayStation One.
Genre Third person shoot em up. You could only go forwards into the screen, with side to side to dodge stuff, and just shot everything in sight. Your guy, the shirtless commando bloke, is always on screen.
Estimated year of release It looked like almost first wave PSX graphics but I reckon it was released around 1998 or something. A later cash-in, probably British made.
Graphics/art style Looked as crappy as the first Reboot game, or even first Tekken. Main character was probably made of about ten polygons.
Notable characters You used a shirtless muscly pink army guy in green trousers. He may have had a weird little Mohawk. I don't recall a single other character but I'm pretty sure you had to shoot at a tank at some stage.
Notable gameplay mechanics It played almost exactly like Crash Bandicoot (eg running forward into the screen, in a faux 3D style) except you could not jump, and you had machine guns.
It also had a feature in the main menu where you could format your damn memory card for no bloody reason which is probably why I remember it so vividly.
I always remember it being called Commando but absolutely nothing comes up for that. The box art was only slightly better than the actual in game Graphics, with the muscly guy running towards us with his machine guns as shit blew up behind him.
I recall this game being quite shit but actually quite fun if you used unlimited ammo cheats.

2024.05.14 20:54 DARKWOLF_TECH Is my friend trying to scam me for my 3 star?

Long story short I have been playing from day 1 and don't care about legendary guns or armor at first just plans. I'm doing a gunsmith character were low levels can get a load gun for cheap. So to the point, I 3 star legendary on a minigun and roll a high powered minigun 300% ammo capacity, bullets explode, +50% damage resistance while aiming. There telling me it worthless and will happily take off me hands but I like to keep it and put it with me fat man's. Are they trying to scam me.

2024.05.14 20:50 RiotDog1312 Feedback on Heavy PA "Tank" build?

Playing around with a second character and wanted the opposite of glass cannon commando, so I'm going for a beefy PA heavy build. This is what I've come up with so far. A breakdown of thoughts below
Strength 15: Heavy Gunner line (3+3+3), Bear Arms 3, Blocker 3
Basic damage essentials, large weight savings, big damage reduction
Perception 3: Grenadier 2, Concentrated Fire 1
Bigger explosions to help with tagging, and having an option to aim for weak spots if I ever need VATS
Endurance 6: Fireproof 3, Cola Nut 2, Good Doggy 1
Damage reduction, and dog food and cola can replace stims for recovery
Charisma 12: Suppressor 3, Tenderizer 3, Friendly Fire 3, Squad Maneuvers 2, Strange In Numbers 1
Improved damage, indirect damage reduction, healing teammates, going faster, being a better mutant
Intelligence 15: Stabilized 3, Batteries Included 3, Power User 3, Power Patcher 3, Portable Power 3.
Damage, weight reductions, and improving both armor core life and Gatling Laser ammo capacity
Agility 6: Thru Hiker 3, Dodgy 3
Carry tons of food instead of chems for healing and Overeater bonuses. More damage reduction, offset by Kinetic Dynamo on chest and cola consumption
Luck 14: Class Freak 3, Bloody Mess 3, Ricochet 3, One Gun Army 3, Starched Genes 2
Better mutations, more damage, more damage reduction, stagger+cripple debuffs
Legendary Perks: Strength, Intelligence, Luck, Electric Absorption, Take One For The Team
Stat points, damage reduction and healing, damage amplifier for tanking
Mutations: Egg Head, Eagle Eyes, Bird Bones, Marsupial, Healing Factor, Scaly Skin, Empath, Herd Mentality, Carnivore, Electrically Charged, Unstable Isotope
Standard boosts, more durability, stronger Strength and damage reduction foods, minor extra damage when taking a beating. Specifically avoiding Speed Demon just to ease Overeaters management.
Gear: Full Overeaters Hellcat, with additional resists, damage on hit, carry weight, Kinetic Dynamo. Hellcat chosen for the extra flat ballistic reduction.
Backup set of Deep Pocketed Weightless Weight Reduction armor and high capacity backpack in case I need to get out of my power armor for looting and farming.
Weapons: Anti-Armor Rapid Rapid Cremator (already acquired) for ranged tagging, Holy Fire for closeup, Furious or Vampires Rapid Rapid Ultracite Gatling for ranged blasting
Obviously this whole build plan assumes grolls and a ton of levels, and I already have some idea of build priority and milestones on the way there, I just want to make sure my big picture plan looks good. I know there's also some adjustments I can make to maximize damage even further, but I wanted full health durability for facetanking events.

2024.05.14 20:50 Ebon1fly Lonnie is the worst character in the game and i don't know why people like him

Dude is at best meh and at worst terrible. The guy keeps getting beat up over the course of episode 1 and literally tried to talk to David saying "tHey wErE OuR fAMilY!!". And the dipshit expected david to care??
And this man threatens some random dude that he doesn't know or some shit, waving a gun around like some fucking lunatic, please.. he's such an imbecile compared to Gabe and it took him 3 hours to realize that he needs to tell Joan that David's planning something, not that he could anyway. And worst of all, it took his friend dying for him to get that. He's done nothing right i guess.
Oh last but not least, when he gets shot, really dude? How? You threaten David and just keep standing within melee range? What the fuck. Then when he tried to act badass when holding Javi at gunpoint without any fucking support, any episode with him is the worst episode NGL, except when he died. Even then, that made me cringe, especially the fact that people ignored that.

anyways, what if during Episode 5 of season 1 "No Time Left", lee got up and told clem "There's no time left! I am soon to be the walking dead!"

2024.05.14 20:23 AFoolNamedTool The final shape: what if scenario

What if after the final shape released and after everything is fully done with the witness inside the traveler, they made a BR mode for the inside of the traveler as a game mode? -itd have multiple parts from various locations (could be a decent map) -chests are already in the game -gun drops could be restricted to seasonal weapons, plus a limited amount of "free to play" exotics that could cycle each season -you could choose you light/darkness classes (one of each with prismatic coming to the game) and each character would find loot relevant to the power classes -you could pick up grenades, melees, movement tech, barriers, etc. and supers relevant to each power class. And relevant to each character class (H, T, or W) -armor would be basic shield (comestics only) and be upgraded from white to purple like items always are, with class specific exotics outside of helmet-boots (think hunter capes, etc.) That give a class perk to your character. -teammate respawns wouldnt be going up to the ghost but grabbing the ghost and carrying it to an "area of light" to respawn them.
Let me know yalls thoughts and ideas about it. A nice fun what if scenario.
EDIT: IF YOU'RE ONLY ADD ON TO THE THREAD IS TO BE TOXIC OR SHUT IT DOWN THEN KEEP ON MOVING. NO WHERE DID I SAY BUNGIE SHOULD ADD IT. I MYSELF AM AGAINST ADDING IT TO THE GAME. IT WOULDNT FEEL PROPER IN DESTINY ANYWAYS. IF THE COMMUNITY CANT HAVE FUN CONVERSATIONS ABOUT THE GAME THEN WHATS THE POINT OF A COMMUNITY?

2024.05.14 20:06 MisterSpacemanStuff Next Planet Predictions

During the 'fake ending' of 2.2, we engage in a navigation meeting with the Astral Express Crew to vote which planet to go to next. Of course, given how much time and effort goes into creating a planet, it's unlikely the player will actually be able to choose to next destination. In 2.3, it is likely we'll have the next planet revealed, with no choice of which it will be. Still, we can have a little fun speculating things.

Where are we Going?

During the meeting, we are given 4 options: Lushaka, Patrevia, Melustanin and Edo Star. Depending on the decision you make, the result of the vote will change. However, one opinion seems to appear in every vote: Edo Star.
Option Votes
Lushaka 3 votes for Lushaka, 2 votes for Edo Star

I can't make up my mind All votes for Edo Star
Unlike the other planets which the Crew is only interested in for their touristic purposes, Edo Star is in mortal peril.
Edo Star has been under attack from the Antimatter Legion for a while now. In the discussion, they mention distress signals from the planet have ceased, and the IPC wants the Express to investigate. Now, this last part might have been false, given we're in the dream at that point. However, the Antimatter Legion part is something we know to be true from the Destruction of the Destroyer text.
It's reasonable to assume the crew will end up pivoting towards this destination in the end.

But then... what can we expect? Well, here's some speculation:

  1. It may be the most treacherous planet we've visited yet, being in an Ion Storm region and being besieged by the Antimatter Legion.
  2. It's possible there will have already been great damage and destruction to the planet's civilisation
  3. While this may be a bit of a Planet of the Hats interpretation, it is likely Edo Star will be heavily inspired by Japanese culture, given the use of the name Edo.
  4. According to Forla, Edo Star has great houses of music where they sing ancient ballads, so we might get some Japanese vocal works.
Notably, Edo would not be the only Japanese inspired world, as Izumo is similarly Japanese. However, Izumo is gone. If we ever explore what Izumo was in a Simulated Universe or similar mode, Edo and Izumo may appear redundant if they don't make sure to have a distinct aesthetic. However, there should be enough to work with to make that distinction.

If we assume for a moment that the planet depicted in Sparkle's Myriad Celestia trailer is in fact Edo Star, that distinction should not be an issue. While both are futuristic, Edo's portrayal is more neon, whilst Izumo is more sober, relying more on abstract shapes and designs.

Part 2: Who will be there?

If we do go to Edo Star, what can we expect from the characters? Let's have a looksie.
First, let's talk about the people we already know:
1. The Astral Express Crew:
Of course, our core members will be along for the ride. As for who stays on board the Express this time: I don't have much of a theory. I'd be inclined to think March, because she's the only one who hasn't stuck behind yet, but there's not much to go on.
https://preview.redd.it/9qpw0v8eaf0d1.png?width=1277&format=png&auto=webp&s=d893b6dbe5e96b2cb5f85545f0f47334f920b250
2. Black Swan and Boothill?
While it was a nice dream to have them join the ride for a bit, I'm not convinced this will actually happen. Black Swan has her own agendas and travel methods, and Boothill doesn't seem like he'd have business on Edo Star, and he has a hunt to do. Well, 2.3 will likely reveal more. Who knows? Maybe they'll have reasons to come along after all.
https://preview.redd.it/poh15foexe0d1.png?width=365&format=png&auto=webp&s=cad37485b4e22571bd5d1d5d0edf94de9c40cc36
3. Sparkle:
As the character most heavily implied to come from a place like Edo Star, Sparkle being a returning character for its plot would make sense. However, as a Masked Fool travelling the cosmos, she could also just be mucking about wherever. If she is from Edo though, we can at least expect some mention of her background there. That said, there's no guarantee the planet we saw even is Edo Star to begin with.
Other Masked Fools like Sampo or Giovanni also always have a good chance of popping up.
https://preview.redd.it/hgfgpd3o8f0d1.png?width=184&format=png&auto=webp&s=71d8daef85bdd3238508c55af78c7c4c7b4e9c93
4. IPC/Genius Society/Intelligensia Guild characters:
I know, these three factions aren't the same. But I'm mentioning them for the same reasons: All of them could easily have business at Edo Star. Be it to investigate the Ion Storm, or to deal with the Legion situation.
5. Stellaron Hunters:
It would be a bit odd for them to go completely silent, as it appears they need to be pretty hands-on with Trailblazer's trajectory to achieve their goals.
6. Acheron:
While I think she'll probably slink into the background after what happened now in 2.2, I don't think this is the last we've seen of her. While I don't think it would be a good fit for the main Trailblaze Mission, the idea of a side mission that's just Acheron landing on Edo and engaging with the world with both familiarity and alienation could be very interesting to watch.
https://preview.redd.it/nhir0tt19f0d1.png?width=184&format=png&auto=webp&s=4babc782a0c9d34a8adfbf8aa86979dde2753216
7. Tingyun:
This one's a bit more of a stretch. We know Tingyun likely got involved with the Legion somewhere on her trips, so it's not impossible we may find traces of her at Edo Star.

But what about the people we don't know?

NEW characters: HSR mentions a lot of names, but there are none so far that have any known relation to Edo. Also worth noting is that 'newcast' characters outnumber the 'variants' from previous game with over 3 to 1. We will definitely see a lot of new faces. In fact, Penacony only had 1 character so far we can assume without question is a variant (Acheron), while the rest were all newcast.
But you can't really speculate based on nothing. So what are the variants we can expect to meet? To be honest, there are way too many characters that could work for Edo Star versions. Yanqing and Kafka have shown us miHoYo does not mind picking some of the more obscure figures. But once you start counting side characters and stigmata, well, the list becomes absurdly long.
So let's stick to some highlight candidates:
1. Yae Sakura/Kasumi/Miko:
Yae is a prime candidate for a new version. A mainstay figure with versions across Guns GirlZ, Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact. Who has a big life sized statue dedicated to her at miHoYo HQ. Who's one of the most popular characters in the roster, and has her own song. I can't imagine miHoYo not including her.
This also brings good odds of some variants of Yae Rin and Higokumaru/Hellmaru to show up. Yae's little sister and the Bake Kitsune that is often tied into her narrative.
https://preview.redd.it/k4o96pl6df0d1.png?width=982&format=png&auto=webp&s=9c20138db0ef87c0b37b37632c6747e91379e833
2. Kallen Kaslana
While it's not unheard of, it's uncommon for a Yae not to have a connection to a Kallen. Kallen Kaslana has two major facets of her identity: Her adventures in Europe, and her adventures in Japan. In fact, in one world, she rose to dictatorship trying to resurrect her beloved Yae.
(Yes, this is official art posted by miHoYo)
3. Theresa Apocalypse
Theresa is an odd character. Perhaps with the most flexible identity of the recurring main cast, Theresa has done it all. She's had different names, hair colours, eye colours and even nationalities and ethnicities. Nevertheless, in several of her versions she ends up tied to Yae or Japan in one way or another, making her a decent candidate for appearing in some shape or form on Edo Star.
https://preview.redd.it/chygo5engf0d1.png?width=1180&format=png&auto=webp&s=a388b95076125b0769b3f336a5807ea659dc5f29
4. Shigure Kira
Playing roles in both GGZ and HI3, Kira is an often overlooked multigame cast member. Shigure Kira seems like a prime candidate for Edo Star. Not only does she have a Japanese background, but she also fits perfectly with the one thing we do know about Edo: The music houses. Why? Because in HI3 Shigure Kira is an idol who cannot sing. Additionally, she's typically regarded as one of the strongest warriors around, which could allow her to fit both into the cultural landscape of Edo Star and the war with the Legion.
https://preview.redd.it/6p8xqmiehf0d1.png?width=625&format=png&auto=webp&s=9ca33251cec8d88d8597e19bf14b242e3a0d3813
5. Hokushin Mei
Raiden Mei's ancestor Hokushin Mei is mostly prevalent in GGZ. (Mei is the given name. It's not a direct lineage). It could be a way to bring in another Mei while tapping into a different identity.
https://preview.redd.it/0nnzlw9whf0d1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=3cc4e36b82fb13302784d452ba07a436e668e733
6. Raiden Mei and Raiden Ryouma
Yes, I know, there's already Acheron. But we also have two Bronyas already! It's not unlikely another Raiden Mei would appear. The only thing that makes me think she won't is that it could be considered a bit soon.
But another avenue they could explore is to instead use her dad. Ryouma. Appearing in both GGZ and HI3, but with a bigger role in GGZ, Ryouma is one of those dudes players would love to see playable, and HSR could be his first opportunity to become it.
https://preview.redd.it/lzymnpvnif0d1.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=9c97e99b1ab1978d48fcc292b4f37d1aabf29156
7. Murata Himeko and Murata Ryusuke
Another Himeko?! Another Himeko. She is Japanese. It could be a good opportunity to delve into the Express Crew themselves running into variants.
Similar to with Ryouma, they could instead bring in Ryusuke. This could be especially interesting if he runs into Welt, as Earth's Ryuusuke tried to kill him before.
Making deals with eldritch beings to get space powers isn't something that'd be out of place in a plot about a war with the Legion.
https://preview.redd.it/e81vnr2vjf0d1.png?width=358&format=png&auto=webp&s=8bbc3636dc26a29efa7c5d1153ab60a49bdba294
8. Any fitting character from GGZ
While it's clear GGZ still influences the identities of the multigame cast (such as Seele's Belobog design taking from her Firemoth version), we have yet to see a character in HSR we can say beyond doubt is based on a GGZ character. GGZ does have a lot of characters tied to its Japan though, and several with Japanese backgrounds too. Perhaps Edo Star could give us the first. Perhaps not. We can't know until it happens.
https://preview.redd.it/6thpa5vklf0d1.png?width=617&format=png&auto=webp&s=6869be1a24a54285f4bcdbf99dd70d7e74980a94

And if it turns out we don't go to Edo Star after all.... Well, it was fun anyway.

What do you think? Will we be visiting Edo Star next? What do you think the planet will be like? What faces do you expect to see?

2024.05.14 19:36 SpammableCantrips Plasma Siege-breaker - A strong, fun, accessible Plasma Flamer build (Full health, no VATs, no PA)

Introduction & Disclaimer

Good evening all. I've been playing for about a month now, but I've had a lot of experience with the Fallout series previously. After starting off my FO76 adventure with a shotgun build, then a pistol build, but I was having problems with some of the mechanics.
Essentially, I am disabled. I have a degenerative disease and articulating my hands at times is a bit of nightmare. For this reason, VATs and some of the other mechanics in FO76 for me is not ideal.
I've been playing around with this build for about two weeks, and the results have been staggering. I'm currently just below level 100, and even without all the perks I am about to list, I'm having a lot of fun.
I've not actually finished this build to completion yet on my own character (I have all of the perks listed, but not at the max level). I've had a few people PSN asking me what I was running as I was keeping up with some bloodied builds that were several hundred levels higher than me. In some cases, out DPSing them with only the first couple of stages of the "core" perks. Daily Ops and expeditions have been a breeze since switching to this build, and I'm never looking back!
That being said, I would highly encourage tailoring this build for your own needs and make adjustments where suitable (or desired).

Core Components

Essentially the core components of the build are as follows:
Armour, while useful, the specifics are somewhat irrelevant. I personally run bolstering gear, but feel free to use something else such as unyielding, etc.

Gameplay

Mechanics-wise, your job is to charge in to the centre of combat and essentially use your plasma flamer against groups of enemies. This may sound challenging, but it's generally just a case of holding down the right trigger on large groups of enemies (short bursts on single enemies to conserve cartridges).
Your plasma flamer with the "Vampire's" effect essentially will keep you alive the more you use it. Make sure you break away from enemies, or get a friend to cover you, when you need to reload as this is when you're vulnerable.
As your Plasma flamer has a high rate of fire, all of the perks I'll be going on to list are continuously running the chance to trigger per shot, or re-applying the timers.
There has been times during expeditions and daily ops where I've seen guys in Power Armour go down, while I'm holding my own against a horde of enemies without too much effort.

S.P.E.C.I.A.L

I would recommend the following S.P.E.C.I.A.L as a base:
Strength: 3 Perception: 12 Endurance: 6 Charisma: 6 Intelligence: 9 Agility: 10 Luck: 10

Legendary Perks

I would recommend the Luck, Agility and Endurance legendary perks, with Taking One for the Team. As mentioned earlier, your job is essentially "charge in, tank everything, survive" so some of the more offensive perks aren't necessary.

Perks

So, this is essentially the "meat" of the build. I'm not going to explain the effects of each perk, as the wiki does a better job of that than I could ever hope to word, but I will highlight anything of note relating the perks where appropriate.
For Strength, you need to have Blocker (3).
For Perception, Commando (3), Expert Commando (3), Master Commando (3) and Tank Killer (3) I would say are pretty essential.
For Endurance, I would say Adamantium Skeleton (3) and Fireproof (3) are very important for survivability. I would put the remaining points into perks that suit your playstyle, I am using Aquaboy and Lifegiver personally.
For Charisma, I would get Tenderizer (3) and Suppressor (3) as these will keep your teamates alive during group content, by weakening the capability of your enemies.
For Intelligence, Science (2), Expert Science (2), Master Science (2) and Batteries Included (3) are a must. You need the extra damage and the ability to craft mods for your Plasma guns. You're also going to be carrying a ton of plasma cartridges and the weight reduction makes a massive difference to inventory management.
For Agility, Evasive (3), Adrenaline (5), Dodgy (3) and Action Boy (3). Feel free how to use the last point how you want, but you want to have high AP for Dodgy to be able up a lot of the time.
For Luck, Bloody Mess (3), Serendipity (3), Tormentor (3), Ricochet (3) and Scrounger (3) I'd say are very important. Most of these are self-explanatory, but Ricochet appears to work with the legendary effect of the gun you are holding, meaning more heals! Scrounger will also keep your flamer topped up and ready to go, as you will literally be burning through ammo.

Perk TLDR Summary

Damage:
Defence:
Utility:

Enclave Plasma Gun vs Plasma Gun

So, the Enclave Plasma Gun is certainly slightly better than the regular one. That being said, it's somewhat irrelevant in the context of this build. I would recommend getting a regular "Vampire's" legendary plasma gun BEFORE attempting to get an Enclave version.
The Enclave versions are a lot harder to source, and as a result they're also harder to get the mods for. Worry about this another day.

Closing Thoughts

I'm sorry for the length! I hope the following helps. After being asked about it a couple of times while playing, as well as seeing some conversations over the last few days relating to Plasma gun flamers, I just thought this may be of use to some of the newer players who may be in a similar position.

2024.05.14 19:31 Upset_Walrus3395 Health and radiation all over the place since update

Since the last update my health has been crazy on all of my characters. I mostly load in at 1hp, stimpaks sometimes work or barely replenish health or heal me way to much, 1 radaway diluted takes away half my rads on occasion.
I've died from drinking water and eating perfect bubblegum due to massive radiation.
Food rads dont radiate the way they should. It shows 1 rad on eating something, but takes away 20-30 health.
Even my gamma gun isn't predictable. Sometimes it works to slowly add rads, other times I one shot myself from over 100 health.
After 4 years of playing I'm used to some oddities, but this is weird as hell.

2024.05.14 19:26 mmaduska Help with Death Guard

Hello! Last weekend I played my first game at my LGS in their escalation league, currently at 1000 pts. My opponent was the gentleman who runs the league and he was very helpful. My issue was that I ran a Retaliation Cadre list (posted at the end) and his entire army ran flamers. I have another game in two weeks against Drukhari, but two weeks later we have a 1000 pt tournament where I’m sure I’ll be facing this DG list again and could use some pointers.
TLDR: Flamers made my life miserable and I need pointers to not get crushed on primary.
I believe his list was: -two units of plague marines in rhinos with flamers in the firing deck. -six man unit of terminators (also with flamers) led by typhus -tallyman -leaders for the plague marines put out an aura that lowered my toughness but I can’t remember their names -and a tiny little ripper swarm looking thing that was in deep strike.
I had no idea I would be playing against this army before I showed up so it was definitely a challenge running retaliation cadre. All of my detachment bonuses put me into flamer range and therefore overwatch. We played on a full sized table and I was far too concerned with deep strike which left me too spread out to start. Him having sticky objectives was also a pain on such a big table with so few units.
First round went okay as my hammerhead popped one of the rhinos and dropped marines on the center objective, but the remainder of the game was me trying to avoid overwatch and suffering on primary. Torchstar gambit was great and totally kept me in the game though.
His Tallyman was getting him an extra CP every round. Without an ethereal it felt like I couldn’t keep up.
I realized with some correct sequencing I could be forcing the overwatch on some cheaper units before risking it on my crisis suits. I found this to be very difficult in such a small game though. My coldstar had the internal grenade rack enhancement which I never ended up using (I’ll be swapping it for starflare ignition system next time).
My thoughts are that I could almost entirely avoid his termies since they move so slow with typhus and only have a 12” range. Be more patient and use my range/movement to my advantage. Especially with starflare ignition system allowing me to unstick some of his objectives and missile pods still giving me range on his units.
I don’t want to tailor my list specifically to this army because we have that tournament coming up, but any insight as to how I could play it better would be greatly appreciated!
My list is as follows: Farsight is leading the starscythe from deep strike Coldstar is leading the fireknife Fireblade with breacherfish
