I was wondering how long it took to train the reactivity out of your dog? Or have them able to control their emotions.
I have a just turned 2 poodle x Irish setter who became fear reactive after a German Shepard dog aggressively lunged and barked at her when she was less than a year and a half old and only wanted to play. This has changed her view on certain types of dogs and she now will lunge and bark at them until they walk away.
I’ve been working with asking her to ‘look at me’ and rewarding when she does, distracting her, turning around and breaking her view for a few seconds all of this works occasionally but we are still having very bad days were nothing I do matters. Also had a trainer but this got too expensive to keep up.
She’s walked 2 times a day and I just feel like I’m making zero progress

Coins/Round Question
OK, so I've been playing since November, and I've advanced to where I can max DWHP on T9. So that's where I'm farming. Get to about wave 1650~ depending on perk spread. (PWR is my first perk)
I usually pull about 1.8-2B coins per run. Not bad. But quickly becoming less and less amazing.
My question is, I see people pulling 1 TRILLION coins or more per run and my question basically is HOW IN THE HELL? At my current rate, every week or so my coins per run goes up by about 200, 300 million by nature of lab unlocks and workshop.
At that rate, I'm looking at about 5000 weeks to hit 1T/run.
So where's the huge multiplier I have to look forward to? I have BH/GT/DW all synced at 3 min 10s, and 2 spotlights. Those are my 4 UW's.
Currently I'm saving up for a fifth UW.
WHERE'S the huge jump gonna come from? Syncing BH and GT is a good example. Pretty good jump. BH coin multiplier too.
What's next? Where do I go? I'm hitting burnout again.

Hey,maybe here can someone help me. I having weird laggs ingame. The weird things for me are; that it doesn't change with the graphic settings. Doesn't matter if i play on very high with like 60 fps ore low with 90 fps. Second weird thing is, that the fps are completely stable the whole time.It's feels like when you play online and experience laggs. The movement is stopping almost and after a 1-2 second you are further than before or the movement goes from nearly freezing to triple speed for 2 seconds. It's really annoying why you are riding. It's happing like every few seconds. While waking not so much but it happens to. I just started a new job and at first it seemed like everyones really nice and we are getting along very well. However, now after a couple of weeks im surprised to notice how no ones really interested in getting to know each others (or maybe just me since im the newest member). Theres only around 5 ppl in my team and we work together in the office every day. People do chat but its mostly about work etc but the vibe is just weird or not what im used to.
In my previous jobs im used to coming to work and asking people how they are doing, what they did last night/how the weekend was etc so i do this at the new place too - it just seems like no ones asking that back or keeping the convo going?
Examples 1. I said "I went rock climbing yesterday". My other colleague just said "oh" and walked away. The other colleague didnt really reply so i asked them if theyre ever been rock climbing, and the answer was "no i havent".
  1. Im asking manager about what he is doing this weekend. He replies that hes son has a soccer game and theres also soccer on the tv. I ask a couple of things about his son, whos playing etc. After replying my q's the convos dead as idk what to say anymore and he asks me nothing.
How on earth can i crack the code or do i just have to accept that they either dont want to get to know me or they just want to talk about work and thats it?
Maybe this is how some/most work places are and ive been lucky in my previous places because ive always made good friends at work and hang out with them on my free time aswell. Please help:(

Does anyone know how xbox game pass cloud works in reference to PC? I just read that NHL 24 is going to xbox game pass cloud (beta) and as far as I know, you can play xbox game pass cloud games from the xbox app on Windows (I haven't done it so correct me if I am wrong). Does this mean we would be able to play NHL 24 from a PC through the xbox app using the cloud service? Or does the service know you are playing from a PC so you can only PC games that are available on xbox cloud?
Ive been waiting to be able to play NHL on PC since like... 2004 or whenever it was last released for PC.

Hello fellow musicians and Ajikan fans!
I have been a fan of ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION for roughly 16 years and as a guitarist was greatly inspired by the band's alt rock sound.
After a few years of research I have written a series of "sound like" articles for ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION. The purpose of these articles is to provide context on how the band create their signature sound, and to support beginning musicians or tribute acts who may wish to replicate it.
At the end of each article I have drafted a Budget Rig, which you could use for both at home and in a live environment. I have also provided some general amp settings to tweak and try, which are based on the band's live sound and be can used to help replicate their tones.

To help you recognise the individual guitar tones, Gotch's guitar parts are normally panned to the left earphone and Kita's are panned to the right earphone on the band's albums. (On 2016's Sol-Fa, Hometown and some of the Planet Folks singles the panning was swapped, with Gotch instead in the right ear and Kita on the left)

In this article we are focusing on lead guitarist and backing vocalist Kensuke Kita. Responsible for many of the band's iconic melodies and riffs, Kita's rig setup is a classic rock setup: A Gibson Les Paul into a Marshall-esque amp.
Inspired by 90's alt rock and Brit Pop groups such as Supergrass, Blur, Manic Street Preachers and Radiohead, Kita has constantly evolved as a musician and became more involved with the song writing process from Fanclub onwards. (Kita has writing credits on Blue Train)
This evolution can be seen clearly when you compare the punk rock style of Houkai Amplifier with the more experimental, pop inspired Planet Folks. While the earlier records reflected a focus on riffs and octave chord melodies, Kita now prefers playing major and minor third chords, triad chords and arpeggios, reflecting his "melody-maker" role in the band.
A triad chord is a chord made of 3 separate notes. They are commonly played on the higher strings and Kita uses them a lot, in tracks such as Aru Machi no Gunjou, Sayonara Lost Generation and Gekkou. Major and Minor third chords are sometimes referred to as Dyads.
During live performances Kita will experiment with ambient tones, but remains the lead guitar sound, with Gotch acting as a anchor for the overall band.

GUITARS

Kita's primary guitar is a Gibson Les Paul. You want to capture the power and sustain of the humbucker pickups, so single coils will generally not work. Furthermore, I would not recommend active pickups, such as EMG pickups, and to avoid anything that creates too much gain. Remember, Kita sound is rooted in a traditional rock setup.
His most recognisable and iconic guitar is his Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue. Kita bought the 59's reissue in 2004 and has been a mainstay ever since, using it on every Ajikan album from Fanclub onwards.

Kita's backup guitar is a Historic Collection 1958 Les Paul Standard Reissue, which is also used for Eb/D# standard tuning for songs such as After Dark, Yoru No Call and Empathy. Kita's other standout guitar is his Gibson ES-335, which is used occasionally for songs with a capo.
A good example of this would be the live performance of Natsu no Hi, Zanzou from the 10th Anniversary shows and live performances of Juuni Shinhou no Yuukei and Maigo Inu to Ame no Beat.
Kita has also experimented with Fender Telecasters, Jazzmasters and Stratocasters on the band's albums, although neither have been seen on stage so far. In a interview with Guitar Magazine, Kita confirmed that he used a Fender Jazzmaster on Empathy.

If you are looking to capture Kita's guitar sound, a Les Paul style guitar with vintage sounding pickups would be the best place to start.
Between 2002-2007, Kita armed his Les Pauls with Gibson Burstbucker 2 in the bridge position and the Burstbucker 1 in the neck position. Since 2007, Kita has used Custombuckers in both positions. Like Gotch, Kita uses Tortex Flex picks and are most likely .73mm or .88mm variants

AMPLIFIERS

In the band's early years of success, Kita used a Marshall JCM 900-4100 head with a Marshall 1960A cabinet. In late 2005, Kita replaced the Marshall amp with the Bogner Ecstasy 101b and Bogner 4x12 Cabinet, which he has used ever since as his main live amplifier.

The Bogner has 3 channel settings, with the "green" channel based on traditional Vox amp, the "blue" channel based on a Marshall JCM800 & Marshall Plexi and the "Red" channel as a higher drive channel. The Bogner also has a boost feature that Kita uses for solos.
Both the JCM900 and Ecstasy amps are based on vintage Marshall sounds, whereas the modern Marshall amps have a darker, more compressed sound.
Between 2000-2011 Kita would only use the Marshall or Bogner stack for live performances and simply switch between the amp channels. In 2012, Kita introduced the Shinos Luck 6V combo to his live setup.
The Shinos amps were set up by a former VOX Chief engineer and in general has a blend of Fender and Vox amps sound wise. They have also been compared to Matchless amps, which Kita has used occasionally on international tours.

Kita has experimented with more amplifiers in the studio and has been known to use JCM800's, VOX and Matchless amps on albums, but for the purpose of this article we will keep the focus on matching his vintage Marshall & Bogner tone.
Kita's clean sound can be heard on Angou No Waltz, Mustang and Yuugure no Aka, while his distorted sound can be heard on Standard, Re:Re: and Kouya wo Aruke.
Kita used 4x12 Greenback speakers in his Marshall cabinet (this was 2004 sound & since 2005 he has likely use Celestion Vintage 30 speakers. The Shino is likely set up with a Celestion Classic Lead 80 speaker.)

PEDALS

Alongside the amp pairing, Kita uses a wide variety of pedals that has only grown in recent years. Previously, Kita stuck to a small collection of pedals which included a delay pedal and a preamp pedal.

This collection has since rapidly grown, but has generally included a compressor, phaser, wah and a delay.
During the Eizo Sakushin Shu Vol. 6 performance, where he used a Boss DD-20 Giga Delay, an MXR M-132 Super Comp, Boss PH-2 Super Phaser, a Guyatone WR3 Wah Rocker and VoxV847 Wah pedal. Kita also used a BOSS TR-2 Tremolo at this time.

The Super Comp is used as a boost for lead melodies and solos, and the Super Phaser can be heard in performances of Mustang and Shinkokyuu. The Giga Delay can be heard in tracks such as Night Diving, Re:Re: and Mugen Glider, as well as the band's ambient jams. The Wah Rocker can be heard in Kugenuma Surf & Enoshima Escar
Since 2010 Kita's pedal board has gradually evolved to include more delay & modulation effects. (Such as the Boss Harmonist and BOSS MD-200 Modulation) He has also used fuzz and distortion pedals from time to time. For example, he has added the BOSS Tone Bender and Earthquaker Transmisser for ambient noises between tracks.
In recent years, Kita has also used octave pedals for lead parts (which recreates what the guitarist plays but at a higher or lower pitch), such as Blood Circulator, Boys & Girls and Clock Work. The Electro Harmonix POG2, which can be seen on his current rig below, is used for the intro of Kakato de Ai o Uchinarase.

To help manage his massive pedalboard on stage, Kita has been using a Custom Audio Switcher to control his pedals, which also allows him to create "loops" of saved settings for each song. I've included a list of his pedals from the current board on the picture below.
The guitar runs into the Junction box (top right) and wah pedal before going into the switcher. Kita can control the Comp and reverb from the switcher, along with the amp settings.
The guitar line then runs from the Dyna Comp through the rest of the pedals, which are controlled in separate loops by the switcher, before running into an amp switcher for the Bogner and Shinos. You can see these loops below:

Kita has a few additional pedals on the board, such as the Electro Harmonix Freeze, which can hold a note for a sustained amount of time and a separate BOSS footswitch to tap in a count for his delay sound.
While this may seem complicated (and it is!) bear in mind that many of the pedals are to recreate certain sounds from the band's 10 albums, or to allow Kita to experiment during live performances.
You do not need to build a pedalboard this big to sound like Kita.
Instead, I would focus on Kita's main pedals, which include the MXR Super Comp, his two Boss DD-20 Giga Delay pedals, the Dunlop535Q Crybaby Multi-Wah, the Strymon ZELZAH (phase) and BOSS MD-200. (phase/auto-wah/tremolo)

Sound Like Kita ...On a Budget

To buy Kita's current rig would cost thousands of pounds (the 59' Les Paul alone could be worth £5,000) so much like the Gotch's post we have a few more affordable options that could get you close. The idea is to create a rig that can be used at home or in small venues to perform live.
Also bear in mind that information provided are based on Kita's Live setup, which is aimed at finding a medium between all of the sounds formed on the albums. Please also note that these are personal suggestions as a fan and if you find that works better for you, then great!
The main areas to consider are:
  • A 50's inspired Les Paul
  • A Boutique Marshall style amp
  • A compressor pedal
  • A Delay pedal and Multi-effect pedals
GUITAR
In terms of guitar options there are plenty of Les Paul copies, but for look and sound Epiphone is a no-brainer. The Epiphone 1959 Les Paul Standard is the newer, more expensive option but is based on the 59' Les Paul model, much like Kita's main guitar. You can buy one for around £749.

The more affordable option is the Epiphone Les Paul Standard '50s, which is also a solid pick and goes for around £500.
AMPLIFIER
In terms of affordable amps, Bogner have recently released the Ecstasy Mini 30W Head which costs around £349. You would need a speaker to plug the head into, this solid-state amp would get you close to Kita's sound and could be used for gigging with a big enough speaker.

You could also try out the Marshall MG50 and Marshall Origin amps as affordable Marshall amps with a classic sound, closer to the JCM900/Bogner style.
Another approach you could take would be to use the Bogner Ecstasy pedals, which are pedals designed to emulate the Bogner Ecstasy amps. (Please bear in mind that you would need to tweak the settings more to work with the amp you use)
The BOSS Katana series and Blackstar amps (which have a dial to set a more British sound) have Marshall-esque settings and could also work, but would require more tweaking.
PEDALS
There are a wide variety of pedals to choose from, but to keep the pedal suggestions simple but versatile. Because of its importance to Kita's sound, I would recommend the MXR Super Comp.

A great example of how this would sound can be on tako wasa YouTube channel, who demonstrated the pedal on this live stream. (tako also has a solid pedal board that is worth taking inspiration from!) An alternative approach would be to buy a Booster pedal to create the same effect, such as the Xotic EP-3 Boost
A delay pedal is also must for a sound like rig (Especially those keen to play the Re:Re: 2016 intro) and so the recommendation would be a Boss DD Delay pedals. The DD-6 or DD-8 are more affordable options that can definitely do the job, while the DD-200 gives you a more versatile option and the ability to save pre-sets for different tracks.

Cheaper alternatives that you could also consider are the Tone City Tape Machine and the TC Electronic Flashback 2 Mini, which are both good options for the price.
Another pedal for Kita's sound to consider would be a Wah pedal. As the Dunlop535Q Crybaby is quite a steep price for casual players, so I would recommend the Vox 845 Wah Wah Pedal. At £69 its considerably cheaper than the Dunlop535Q and should get close to Kita's original Wah sound.
Finally, we are going to focus on the modulation sounds for Kita, and ultimately this is down to preference and what songs you would like to emulate.
BOSS MD-200
If you wanted to have a mix of sounds, the BOSS MD-200, which Kita uses, covers many of the sounds he uses, including the phaser, auto-Wah and tremolo sounds.
For more specific roles, the BOSS PH-3 Phase Shifter will get you close to his original phase sound (try to avoid the Phase 90 style pedals for Kita's sound), while the BOSS Harmonist or a different Octave pedal would help capture some of his lead tones for the current era.
You could also consider a reverb pedal if you want to capture some of the ambient sounds Kita creates live or if the amp you choose doesn't include reverb.
AMP SIMULATOR PEDAL OPTIONS?
The final option to consider would be a Amp Simulator pedal. This type of pedal has become increasingly popular in the last few years and would be used in place of a traditional amp and effect pedals. You would then use the Amp Simulator with a IR Cabinet (a powered cabinet speaker) or with a Power Amp in between the Amp Simulator and a traditional cabinet.
They can be fairly expensive to buy and I would only advise buying one if you do intend to move on from your traditional amp/pedal setup, however the Quad Cortex DSP & Headrush Pedalboard would be good starting points. They are both aimed at capturing more traditionally hi gain amps such as the Bogner and Marshall amps, so should be able to do a good job at capturing Kita's sound.

Recommended Amp Settings

The following amp settings were based on photos from live performances and you should bear in mind that the volume may be quite loud for home use, so I would suggest bringing it down. Also bear in mind that every musician and amp will slightly differ so you may need to tweak with your settings to find the right blend.
My personal advice is to keep the gain around the middle and to use the volume to crunch up the sound. Kita does use a cabinet, so you may need to add more low end for a combo amp, and again bear in mind that the volume may need to be lower for home use.

  1. Click-and-drag scrolling for easier navigation through the game menus.
  2. Photo mode that allows players to hide the HUD, perfect for capturing those heroic moments.
  3. Simpler notifications: Relocate objective and mission completion notifications to the top of the screen and minimize them to reduce screen clutter. It is hard to aim for weak spots when you are playing at high difficulty and have a big wall of text in the middle of your screen.
  4. Help: Add a “Help” voice command to the Q radial menu wheel. + more&new commands?
  5. Crosshair: Option to hide the aiming reticle/crosshair because it simply doesn’t help at all when you have another round crosshair in the middle that shows where your shots actually go. It also blocks the view for long range aiming.
  6. Hiding nameplates / Streamer mode: Option to toggle player names.
  7. Equipment preview: Armor and helmets should be shown as sets when you hover your mouse over them or choose them instead of the default diver armohelmet. OR previewing a helmet shouldn’t change the player's armor to the default and show the current set that the player has equipped and vice versa for previewing armor.
  8. SOS Beacon don't show up on the stratagem menu when your team doesn't have 4 players or after a player leaves the mission.
  9. Versatile Jump Packs: Allow the use of primary or secondary weapons with jump packs. Also, a superhero landing pose if you hold down B while landing airborne with the jump pack.
  10. Increased jump distance or jump height for jump packs slightly.
  11. Super Punisher: Add a flashlight to the Punisher shotgun and some other primary/support weapons that do not have them, so divers can shed light on the darkest enemies of our way of life.
  12. Standardize weapon ergonomics: Some primary weapons handle like autocannon while some handle like a pocket gun.
  13. Delay on EAT: Sometimes EAT do not fire after you equip and aim it. I try to fire a few times and nothing happens.
  14. Arc Thrower & Blitzer: Lightning arcs should damage Terminid eggs. Don't make their arcs jump between the eggs if you think it would be OP, but being able to kill a charger with an arc thrower and yet failing to destroy a smoll egg is kinda lame.
  15. Booster Icons: Add booster icons next to team stratagem list that show up when you press CTRL, so we can see what our fellow divers chose to bring.
  16. Shield Generator Relay: Sometimes explosions happening outside will kill, stagger or damage the player standing inside the shield. Outside explosions should have much less or no effect on player.
  17. Bile Titans tanking Hellpods: Sometimes -almost always lol- Titans don't take any damage, get staggered or die even if you land directly on their head or body with a hellpod.
  18. Improved Incendiaries: Prolong the burn time of incendiary grenades for a few more seconds. They seem to go out before they even kill anything or deny an entry.
  19. Convenient Flamethrower: Remove the movement speed penalty of firing the flamethrower OR increase the flamethrower’s range by 3-5 meters. Enemies mostly start to attack you, as soon as they enter the range of your flamethrower already. If you believe first option would be unbalanced, then you can make it only avaliable for armors with speed stats above +520
  20. Improve Patriot Exosuit: Fix the aiming and accuracy of the Patriot Exosuit missiles. Also, we need much better gun&pod elevation and depression for a 10 minute cooldown stratagem imo.
  21. Fall damage variation: Fall damage needs to differ between armor sets that you have equipped. Players with light armor should take less damage. However, if you want to give another advantage to heavy armor sets, then you can make heavy armors decrease/negate fall damage to some extent because they would be more protective etc.
  22. Fire effects rework: I don’t know if it is just how it seemed to me instead of how it works but fire effects from napalms, grenades etc. only create flames that are scattered around instead of a big strong wall/pool of fire. These flames make it easier to walk around or through them for enemies and take less damage inside the affected area. I think everything inside a circular radius needs to take constant fire damage. Idk how to explain this better. Sorry if it is already how it works.

Hey all! Sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for this, but the Steamdeck sub kept deleting.
I've got injuries in both of my thumbs that make some games a real challenge to keep with. I wanted to create a controller setup that would allow me to keep playing, for example, Fallout New Vegas - but I'm not sure how to proceed.
My initial thought was to use the Deck's pretty robust control mapping to set up two flight-sticks as each analogue stick. I borrowed two Extreme 3D Pro sticks from a friend and wouldn't you know it, they need drivers. Anyone have any suggestions? Right now I'm mostly sticking to games I can more easily henpeck with my index fingers, like BG3 and Slay the Spire.

This isn’t a complaining post (partially) but more, I just have to share how BAD this teammate was. It’s almost comical.
So I’m the carry, teammate is mid lane. But proceeds to pick sparrow.
I’m like… okay Interesting choice. I’ve seen jank picks work before but let’s see how this goes.
Game starts and they proceed to march down duo lane with me and I’m like “go mid, what are you doing” and they start spamming “no” lol
So I’m like screw it, I’ll go try to take care of mid lane as twin. Just play safe but I think I could handle it.
Well sparrow is just running in and feeding the opponents. (Not surprising) but it gets worse.
After a death. Our jungler hopes into duo lane to help support dekker momentarily.
Sparrow gets back up, but do you think she goes back to lane? Nope…. She starts jungling.
Then our khai starts telling her to get back to lane
She starts spamming “no” “no”
And proceeds to jungle until we just surrendered lol.

I 16 year old female started resenting my father (52 male) during the pandemic which is when we moved in with my grandma because we could not afford rent anymore. I started to realize how much of a mamas boy my dad is and how much of a push over he is, for example he would wake up early to drive my aunt to her work; he would constantly be on call for my grandma and do everything she asks him to do even though it would lead him and my mom to fight. My grandma and his siblings didn't like my mom since in their head my mom was the reason why Steven (not the real name of my dad) didn't finish collage even though it was his own decision [my mom finished collage] when we were living in my grandmas house i use to hear them talk shit about my family; my mom mostly. For context i was verry close with my fathers side before this and use to babysit my cousins (i was about 9 at the time and they were 4 and 2) but after that i could never treat them the same and started to stay in my room more then i heard them all me lazy because i only go out of my room when its lunch time (i had online class that starts at 7 so around 6 im already awake). Even though my dad knows they stay shit about us he still doesn't say something and still is on their command. His family would always go first then us. My grandma likes to make up stories about how we disrespect her and stuff even though i mostly stay insde my room and the funny part is Steven belives her so when everthing bottled up there was a huge fight and we moved. For the longest time Steven have not had a stable job and at the same time not want my mom to have a job since he was jealous of the males my mom had to talk to (my mom is a teacher) they relied on my eldest brother to support the family (Electricity bill, water bill, my school fees, grocery). When my brother was still in collage my aunt use to pay our rent (i had a cousin that lived with us since his mom worked in a diffrent country). Around 2022 my mom started working then around 2023 Steven started to work in a call center but that didnt last long since he was always absent. At the end of the last year he borrowed a big sum of money from my brother and said he would return it he didnt my brother said he could not return the money but the money had to be reused in some sort of buissines and he would have to jave job but no matter what my brother pushes him to do all he want to do is play video games all day long. I dont like Steven, i hate talking with him, i dont like neing near him, i dont feel safe with him i saw him hurt my mom in so many diffrent ways and they would always fight no matter where the setting i feel like my brother are more of a father to me than Steven i doesnt feel right calling him my father. He likes to manipulate and gaslight the people around him, he is a prideful male that doesnt have balls he likes to spend and flaunt the money he doesnt have, he like to judge people when infact he is like them. He is moody and gets angry whenever he doesnt get what he likes, he is needy. I dont want to remain in contact with him when i get a job. I do plan on supporting my mother and i want to repay my brother for all that he has done for me but i dont plan on ever contacting Steven.

Hi guys. So I've set up a server with 2 more friends on a dedicated machine.
64 gigs of ram, good processor, good connection... Essentially too much for just 2 or 3 players in a V Rising server (lol)... and I want to make it semi-public and allow more people in but I'm having some doubts about how to deal with the whole "PVP or PVE" debate... so here I am asking for your opinions!
I know some people prefer PVE... but I also know, most of them will quit the game fast or end up bored. PVP brings a lot of dynamic and challenge to the game IMO and makes it so that the server lasts longer (I'm going to try to delay wiping as much as possible).... In your opinion, is there any "ruleset" that allows for players to both enjoy PVE and PVP on the same server? Maybe Offline Raid Protection? No pvp except in certain areas? Have any of you played with any ruleset that allows for this? Thanks for reading !

Hi! I won’t get into all the details but it’s enough to have me still in therapy 9 months postpartum. Some of the major things are MIL lying about having COVID because she was “denied her hospital experience”; causing LO to be admitted to the hospital for weeks and has breathing problems 8 months later. She also demanded to take LO out of the country to “show her off to her friends” (at 3 months old) and said I was evil and not allowing her to be a grandma when I said no. My AIL threatened to induce me 3 weeks early because “the family” wanted “the family baby” to have a specific due date. My GMIL threatening grandparents rights (she’s not even my child’s direct grandparent) and calling me “it” or “that girl” my entire pregnancy. as well as seeing me as an incubator for “the community baby”. All these people hate me for “stealing DH” from them and genuinely expected me to just hand my newborn over because they are “family”.
ANYWAYS… DH cut off basically his whole family for how disgustingly they have treated me and LO (they see her as a facebook prop and something to get their “fix” in). MIL met LO once and no one else has. We have been NC for about 7 months. Although he has never texted back; they do occasionally beg for pictures of LO to post because that’s all they care about (DH hasn’t blocked them). Their facebook ego is all that matters to them. It’s hard to play grandma of the year when the only pictures you have are of a 2 week old.
While I’m proud of DH for standing strong in his NC; it is a little odd to me that he hasn’t just blocked them. Especially since they still continue to send manipulative messages (demanding pictures, for us to travel to them, etc). We live across the country from my in-laws so that helps a lot. DH does still talk to FIL which I have no issue with as he’s never been hateful. Unfortunately he does sometimes push for us to just get over things because “that’s family”. He doesn’t understand NC and thinks it’s a phase. He will occasionally ask DH if he has talked to his mom, grandma,etc. He knows the answer because we are literally NC. I feel with enough pushing and time passed that DH will give in just to make FIL happy.
DH really wants another child when our current baby is 3ish. I do also but refuse to go though the hell of pregnancy and postpartum his family put me though. He’s given me no reason to doubt him and said they will never be involved in our lives; new baby or not. I guess I’m just terrified. LOs birthday is coming up in 2 months and that will be the big test.
Do I let them “win” by not having another baby? Or do I risk being “stuck”? Having 2 kids would be so much harder to manage/protect if DH ever wanted to regain contact with them. (ex. holding one child while everyone harasses the other)

2024.05.14 19:18 sarcopels Urban Shadows: Advice for feeling under-prepped but not wanting to prep too much?

For reference: I've played both Masks and Urban Shadows as a player before, but have only ever run D&D as a GM until this new Urban Shadows campaign. We have 5 players--four have never played PBTA before, one has (and is a HUGE fan of the system). Everyone except one player is pretty seasoned in playing D&D though and everyone has been super on board with the different system, so zero issues there. We just finished our second session, so we're just starting to get into the deep of things.
Figuring out the prep for US has been a lot harder than I had expected. I think I am committed philosophically to playing to find out, and have never had an issue with players derailing my campaigns into unexpected territory even when I gmed D&D, but I'm finding it tricky to pull my players together and not send them in too many directions when I can't prep too heavily--especially since we are early into the campaign and I want to avoid sending people on long solo missions.
For example, one of my players wanted to visit their sister because as an oracle, their foretellings move essentially made them see her potential death. I let them call their sister and check in on her, and have been working that into the plot as we go, but I have a little bit of GM guilt for making it so their sister was out of town just because everyone else was prepping to head to investigate something else and there was not enough time left to accommodate the solo mission and where everyone else was headed. I didn't want my player to be out for the rest of the session (and I'm glad they weren't, since they added a lot of interesting stuff to the next scene), but I also didn't want to shut down their desire to visit their sister--so I had to treat it as a "not yet".
I am also of course prepping NPC and faction motivations, but have leaned into the noir feel of the game and kicked off everything with a mystery for the characters to explore (directly tied to the character backgrounds they all established, of course)--but I'm finding myself struggling to improvise how much information to give them. This is because a) I am struggling to figure out how much of the mystery to have "planned" when the goal is to play to find out, and b) I don't know what NPCs they'll try to interact with. I need to give them people who know answers to their questions, but don't want everything to unravel too fast. How do you all manage this pacing without over-prepping? I want to be really careful not to railroad my players or make them feel like they are doing pointless stuff, but I'm finding that prepping motivations alone is not solving some of these problems. It feels like not having a clear direction on my end is leading to more pointlessness, not less--which is ultimately my fault, but I want to figure out how to improve that while still staying true to the game.
Everyone seems to be having fun, but I want to improve at this and resources are a lot harder to find than for D&D. This is still early on enough that there's still lots of time for me to keep getting better before my players catch on hahaha. Advice is greatly appreciated! I will also take any other GM tips and tricks people have learned running Urban Shadows that folks feel is helpful.

i know i’m more than likely depressed, but i’m having a hard time understanding my symptoms and what degree of severity/ how serious it is and if i should consider medication.
i’ve felt pretty disinterested in my hobbies and interests for a few years now, nothing feels as enjoyable or exciting as it used to. i can’t bring myself to play the games i love or to ask my friends to hang out. my appetite is pretty much almost gone and food makes me feel nauseous. i cry a lot, something i’ve never really had the ability to do before, even when i first got diagnosed as a teenager. small things just seem to trigger a need to cry that i don’t understand.
though i do have very big feelings sometimes, which leads to many of the crying outbursts, they also just seem so insignificant, or almost as if they’re not real. it’s like my brain knows its only temporary and doesn’t see them as important or something. it’s all just so painfully logical, instead of purely emotional, and it makes it so hard to understand what symptoms i do or do not have.
i’ve always struggled a lot with understanding the emotions i’m feeling, which makes this so difficult.
does anyone here feel a similar way?
what does depression look like when you’re autistic?

played a match as spirit, everything was going pretty good. 2 gens left im chasing a mikalea through the front doors of RPD(mind you there was serious lag from the very beginning but i pushed on) i ultimately get stuck in the entrance of the map, the rest of the survivors able to move on but i was stuck for the remainder of the game. I dont understand how a game thats always updating with all new events and cosmetics STILL has issues like this. They need to stop adding killers and survivors every couple months and take time to actually update the quality of their game.
