This is the reddit version of the FB group. We don't go fast, we don't go far, but we do go hard. We meet up irregularly mostly in downtown Indianapolis and cruise around creating flash bike parties. We differentiate ourselves from the other groups in that we prioritize partying; lots of mobile stereo equipment, bright lights, stopping and dancing, and we definitely like sip some bevies. - The food is overall good. Some things are better than others but I generally thought everything was tasty.
- I loved that the dinner service was quick. On past cruises, it felt like dinner was always dragged out for hours. These dinner services were prompt - gave us more time to do other things.
- the crowds really suck…. This ship WILL test your patience. Obviously that is to be expected on a ship this size, but it really made me want to kick anyone who was in my way.
- pool deck chairs were not hard to find. Other cruise reviews said it was terrible but I thought it was easy to find chairs whenever I wanted some.
- the shows were meh. I didn’t really care for any except the Intense show and the ice skating show. The effectors crash and burn was kinda cheesy… and the voices show was literally putting my entire group to sleep. I expected better.
- expect to walk… a LOT. Wear comfy shoes. The ship is massive and you will get 10,000-20,000 steps per day.
- the shower has a 3 in 1 soap so bring your own shampoo and conditioner.
- the Starbucks in the Royal Promenade and the spa were included with the drink package - and they were very good. Do not need to pay for Starbucks.
- drink package was definitely worth it (and you can definitely get away with using it for 2 people lol…. My bf did not get the drink package and I passed drinks off to him the whole cruise).. and we also brought quite a bit of tequila on by putting it in opaque wine bottles and resealing them. Easy. (Don’t judge lol)
- the spa is the best place to get water and Powerade. They let me use the drink package to get 2 bottles of water and a Powerade. Also it’s generally not very crowded down there.
- you will be harassed at any port to spend money. I suggest having a RC excursion booked.

Is there a service at a local reservoilake where someone can take you out on their boat? The owner would operate the boat and can tow the kids on an inflatable tube. This is for a group of about 8 people for the afternoon.
Growing up I would go to the lake (San Luis) with family friends who had a boat. Adults would spend the day cruising around and drinking, while the kids would get towed on wake boards and inflatables. Super fun memories! I want to to that again, but I don't know anyone who owns a boat to take us out. I'm also not trying to rent someone else's toy, and be responsible for being the captain (when I have no experience on anything larger than a fishing boat). Does this service exist?

Can someone please explain why others feel entitled to touch stuff that isn’t theirs? My husband ordered magnets with our dogs’ pictures on them so they could “come with us” on our cruise. It was a funny/cute joke - they are not valuable, except to us. Why steal one? Like who hurt you, bro/sis? Did you miss that day in kindergarten where they teach you to keep your hands off stuff that’s not yours? I put up a gentle post in the cruise group FB asking politely for it to be returned, but it’s still gone. I can’t say it there, so I’ll say it here - you’re a fucking asshole. What kind of dick move was that? And if you’re a “kid”, someone needs to smack your parents for not raising you right. I’m so pissed right now. The missing magnet is of Dax, a nearly 12 year old Belgian Mal, retired K9, and my favorite snuggle buddy. Hello everyone! Next August I am planning on taking a cruise to celebrate finishing my bachelor's degree, and I'm curious to see what ideas people might have for some fun things to do as a group onboard. I have been on several Voyages, but about half the group has not, and I want to ensure they have a great time as well. I'm less interested in the bookable things and more about creating some experiences of our own. So far, these are the things I'm planning for us to do:
-themed costumes for the Grog Walk (I'm thinking Mario Kart)
-at least one item of clothing having red sequins for Scarlet Night
-some sort of scavenger hunt

 | I just came back from a trip in Norway, at last! I'll simply open with this, during my cruise I had a nightmare that I was back at home, now sadly the nightmare is true. submitted by AgitatedMood2747 to Cruise [link] [comments] So, I remember reading a interesting review on cruise critic where someone said that Hurtigruten was "so boring" that they wanted to leave the sailing mid-voyage and pay their own way back to Bergen. While I can see how it could be boring, that person definitely misunderstood what they were looking for. For me, I found it boring at times, but the scenery and food made up for it. The staff even said "we are a glorified ferry" and for a glorified ferry, they do food REALLY well, which really surprised me. It's like a la carte dining, but included and you can order multiple dishes which is amazing. Does make me wish that every dinner wasn't a buffet service as the included a la carte nights had the most tasty food, it felt like fine dining. Of course the actual fine dining was truly something special. Now, I also did many, many excursions, probably 15. Since the crowd is older, many of mine were cancelled but the costal experience team were really helpful in rebooking me. I even did 4 excursions in one day, which was a lot of fun. For me, I'm more of an adrenaline guy, so I found out here bus tours don't really do it for me, but you definitely want to do excursions. There are not a lot of activities to do on the ship, which is probably why that one cruise critic review was so interesting. Or just walk around the ports. I celebrated my 29th birthday on this cruise, most of my active excursions were sadly cancelled but a lot of the alternate excursions were also excellent. Heads up, I am a traditional group/overland tour convert, I had some bad times on group tours and am trying cruising. I believe the costal route is protected, only 2 companies can sail it, so other cruise lines can't sail Hurtigruten's route, and land tours in Norway would definitely be a lot more difficult, expensive, and much less meals included. I'd rather do this cruise over a land tour, and other cruise lines don't sail this route along Norway's coast. Thus, despite some boredom (you can't look at the views out the windows all day long), I do recommend it, despite me standing out a bit as a young person on the trip. At least once in your lifetime to experience the route! Do excursions, and don't feel awkward about being younger than everyone else (I was). Get this trip on a sale and get a cabin on deck 5 minimum. Even the inside cabin I had was excellent, and since Richard With is a hybrid ship you don't even hear the engines at all. However, I wouldn't suggest cabins on deck 3, that is right above the car deck. I'm open to questions about this voyage, I feel as though at this point, I know it quite well. Also attached some photos of me having a waving competition with the ship from the bus during an excursion, sailing near the ship, and a meal from the fine dining restaurant. |

Norway is expensive, I saw some joke here where it said Norway is "afjordable", I would love to see that fjord, in fact I actually saw 3, 1 before the cruise on my own and 2 with Hurtigruten. Today’s update introduces new fixes and experience improvements to Forza Motorsport, including tweaks to how Safety Ratings are calculated in Featured Multiplayer, a gloss-matte slider in the Livery Editor, a new Tire Wear scale option for Free Play and Private Multiplayer, and changes to Drivatar AI braking behavior.
Update 8 is headlined by the Track Toys Tour alongside its Spotlight cars – three of which are either new or returning to Motorsport – that you can race in weekly events across Career, Multiplayer and Rivals. We’ve also added Mobil 1 track signage at Maple Valley, placed a barrier along the pit exit at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, and reset leaderboards for Le Mans layouts following changes made to the track in the previous update.

- In addition, we’ve improved the matchmaking algorithm to search for a narrower range of Safety Ratings compared to your own. For example, players with an 'S' Safety Rating should no longer be matched with players who have 'E' and 'D' Safety Ratings. Groups will be connected to matches based on the player with the lowest Safety Rating.

I got my cruise idea shot down and was looking for other ideas for what to do for a weekend for a max of around $600 per a person in the south east USA (we live in Georgia). We have one person in our group under 21.
My back up is to get a lakehouse or something, but was trying to think of something more exciting to do that would involve some activities. Had a hard time coming up with something that mixed relaxation + a variety of actives like a cruise can. We are going from a Friday to a Sunday sometime this summer.

Training
After putting on far more off-season weight that I could possibly imagine, I started my 16-week marathon program in the second week of January, with the dual goals of losing 10kg to get back to race weight, and somehow getting my fitness up to a level where I could possibly set a new PR. Both were lofty, and being in my late 40's the idea of getting PRs keeps getting less and less feasible. But I'm not going to let a fancy word like "feasible" get in my way.This would be my 10th marathon, a bit over 10 years after I ran my first. My previous 9 were all big city races, but I specifically decided to run my 10th in the relatively small town of Leiden because it was the first and only marathon that my father ran, in 1997, when he was 50 (he ran a very respectable time of 3h43m). So I wanted, as a tribute to him, to literally follow in his footsteps. Leiden was his favourite city, the city where both his parents came from, and also the city where I attended high school for 3 years, so it holds a special place in my heart as well.
As with the past 8 marathons, I followed the "Run Your BQ" program designed by Jason Fitzgerald. He no longer offers this program for sale, but I've developed my own simple web app that lets me follow a variety of programes for any given race day. This might be the last time I follow this program since I want to try out something new next time, but so far it's been quite good at getting me to keep running stronger and relatively injury-free, something which keeps getting more relevant.
As one might expect or personally know from experience, getting through base training while 10kg over your ideal weight is not much fun. But sticking to that 80/20 effort meant I never did feel too strained or overtrained, and I managed to finish the 16 weeks strongly. I also managed to arrive at my race weight just in time (intermittent fasting works well for me), and gauging from my final long run at race effort, I felt that a new PR could happen, if conditions on the day were ideal. IF.
Pre-race
As the race day approached, the weather forecast became increasingly concerning. It was predicted 2 weeks ahead of time that the day would be sunny and hot, at 25C. Usually predicting Dutch weather that far in advance is about as useful as throwing cooked spaghetti at a wall to see how long it sticks, but unfortunately, the meteorologists were spot-on this time. Having run NYC marathon in 2022, I knew that I don't fare well at these kinds of temperatures, and I was reasonably worried that I would fall apart in the last 10K, as I did then. Regardless of my fitness level, I knew that a PR was unlikely under these circumstances. But of course I took every precaution I could to still give myself the best chance. Super light Nike Aeroswift singlet, Raidlight multi-pocket shorts, Nike Alphafly 1, and most importantly a white running cap, which would prove essential for heat management. I had 7 Maurten hydrogels with me (3 with caffeine, 4 without), and would be taking these at ~5K intervals.Race
Gun start was at 10am, and just as predicted, it was then already 18C and not a cloud in the sky. There was however a pretty decent wind (well, a breeze for Dutch standards) which had the effect of providing cooling but also being strong enough to slow you down when running into it (hence the slowdown between 20-25K). Leiden's course is flat however 80% of it goes through farmlands, which provides zero shelter from both sun and wind. I made use of every single water station - and there were plenty - taking a sponge of cold water I could use to soak my cap, as well as a cup of water to keep hydrated. Also there were at least 8 makeshift cold water showers along the course, which were all greatly appreciated.Nonetheless, by the 25K mark I could already notice the quads were starting to get unhappy with me, and maintaining the pace would push me to threshold and possibly beyond, which I really did not want. On top of that the temperature steadily climbed and by noon it was already at around 23C. So I had no choice but to listen to reason and put aside my PR dreams, make sure I don't hit the wall and just ride it out for a sub 3.
Up until 38K, although in quite a bit of discomfort, I was pretty sure I had banked enough decently fast splits to be able to more or less cruise to the sub 3. But my head math sucks when under these conditions, and the closer I got to the finish the more I understood that this was far from a given. Indeed, with just 1200m left, I only had about 4m40s to make it to the finish. I had the adrenaline surge that kicked me into zone 5, enough for a 4:00/km pace to the finish, but unfortunately the twists and turns of the Leiden streets, along with the throngs of 21K runners sharing the course with us, meant it was really really hard to maintain a finishing kick speed (this marathon is not great if that is part of your race strategy). With 200m to go, the clock at the finish said 2:59:25, and I knew I was in trouble. I whispered to myself that there is no fucking way I was going to let this slip away from me, and found a new gear and enough space between the other runners to thrust myself across the line at 2:59:57. Godverdomme, that was close.
Post-race
Despite being in the hurt locker for most of the second half of the race, I wasn't dying after the finish. The light cramps I felt in the last 5K were magically gone, and I actually felt pretty ok, all things considered. The same cannot be said for many other runners I saw in the last few kilometers of the course and just beyond the finish line. The heat had taken its toll. Ambulances were out in full force and stressed to beyond capacity, and as a result the race organisers in conjunction with the mayor of Leiden made the tough decision at 16:00 to cancel the upcoming 10K event, as well as advise any remaining 21K runners still on the course to abandon their effort, for their own safety.I was "lucky" enough that the 42K was the first race of the day and as such we were spared from the very highest temperatures, but the slower marathon and most of the half marathon runners were forced to endure 25C while crossing the finish. There were dozens of runners admitted to various local hospitals with dehydration and sun stroke symptoms, but fortunately nothing tragic.
While I didn't manage to keep to my planned pace (negative split when the temperature is rising is damn near impossible), I'm so glad I didn't blow up, and still managed to get my C goal. It was far from my fastest, but definitely one of my most satisfying results, considering how tough it was. An extra bonus was managing to finish 2nd in my age group.
Marathon #11 will be in Berlin later this year, let's hope for 12C and cloudy!

Looking at photo packages to add for my upcoming Meraviglia cruise. Something confused me the 5, 10, 20 picture mix-n-match has a price not for the cabin but for each person.
So for example 5 pic package is $77 per person. Suppose you have two people in the cabin it’s going to be $154.
My question is: 1) Do they give you 10 total pictures? 2) Are they going to be 5 pics of each person or it could be mix of individual and group (two people from same cabin) ?
Also if I don’t buy the package what are the prices for 5x7 and 8x10 pictures? We are a group of 4 cabin so we would like to purchase some large group pic from all cabins.

Initially, this ship was built as an Ocean Liner in 1955. Its engine room was located near its stern instead of amidships. When it comes to passenger ships, she was the first of its kind (as far as design is concerned).
It wasn’t until 1973, when her new owners converted her to a dedicated cruise ship and finally finding itself in our harbor in 1980 - making 3 and 4 night cruises to Baja.
I couldn’t tell you what went on in that warehouse because I really had no idea. However, I could tell you who walked past the warehouse Monday through Friday on their way to Dana Junior High School.
It was a dozen or so kids from the Ranch. An extraordinary group of kids who would later go on to leave their mark in the world at large.
They were my alarm clock as they carried an oversized boom box blaring Afrika Bambaataa’s Planet Rock. An anthem for an emerging break-dancing movement.
Although my preference for music was Black Sabbath and Motley Crue, I still enjoyed the beats from this style of music.
I’ve lived in many other places since then but I feel fortunate to have been part of the tapestry of San Pedro.

 | So after quite a bit of playing (Sam and his annoying kid left on the patio of Constellation with doors shut). I had built quite a nice XP and credit farm. I based this first ship “Panther” on the Basilisk 2 build off YouTube. These are unruffled stats mostly I think, my fighter has 1700 shields and my battleship has 17 k cargo. Finally I got tired of the big ship, sold off everything in my cargo and built the “Storm Crow,” it cruises at 260 and boosts over 1000, very narrow and 100 agility. I went with the lightest weight possible with the necessary pirate comforts, also very thin and hard to hit. It’s badass, I love playing with the fast ship. I built it to be skeletonized and look lightweight, loosely based of Kilrathi fighters from Wing Commander Privateer.
