Nature Of A Homeless Musician: Special Thanks/Announcements
Hello all! Otto here. And, as you all now know. NoaHM has finally come to an end. It's been a hell of a ride that I'll never forget. But before I move on to thanking specific people and telling you all what's in store, I wanted to be a bit mushy for a minute if you'll indulge me...

When I first heard of NoP, I was in the middle of the night shift that I'm still working to this day. I had a single ear bud in, which was TECHNICALLY against the rules, and still is but fuck 'em. And to pass the time, I listened to stories. Either Mr. Creeps' Creepypasta compilations or, in this case, Agro Squirrel's Tales From Outer SPACE series. And eventually, I heard the name, The Nature Of Predators...and it all went downhill from there as you all can well imagine.

Jokes aside, I fell in love with the story and universe and decided to check out the community. And soon, I found the very first fic I ever read on here, "My Floridian Arxur Daughter". From that point on, I was hooked. I read "Arxur Nursery", "The New Terran Refugee", "Feathers Of Deceit", "Lost In Found", "Recipe For Disaster", "Playing By Ear", and so, SO many more. The sheer amount of creativity on display was amazing. And so...I decided to try my hand at it.

I'd already written a short creepypasta, as well as a small five-part miniseries based off of one of my friends DnD campaigns, so I had a LITTLE experience, but I still hadn't taken a single writing course or knew...anything about what I was doing, so I decided to try something small. (That worked out well...)

I was in the middle of rereading "Floridian Arxur Daughter" for...maybe the sixth time when a particular scene stuck out to me. Something about it...made something click in my head. After evacuating young Chalta from the house, her big bother Carlos and his girlfriend Salisek decide to take her out on a drive, and while their driving, Carlos mentions his ability to sing, and after both Chalta and Salisek both ask for a demonstration, he sings a beautiful rendition of "Send Me A Peach" from Over The Garden Wall.

It was a touching scene, and hearing the song from Chalta's point of view clicked with me. It was by this point that I'd also discovered "Playing By Ear" by u/VeryUnluckyDice, which was essentially this "listening to music through the perspective of someone else's mind" idea made manifest. And that's where it all began. I made a post, proposing the premise of my story, and while I didn't get a LOT of feedback, most of the feedback I got was positive. And a few days later, "Nature Of A Homeless Musician: Prologue" was born, in all of its overly edgy glory. And well...you know the rest from there...

I never could have imagined just how big this story would get. It was NEVER supposed to grow this much, touch so many people, inspire so many others to make stuff themselves. Sure, I hoped that it might, but I never thought it would! But now...here we are...

I...can't put into words, how thankful I am to each and every single one of you, who gave my little idea a chance. It means more to me then I could ever describe. Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to make my living by making things! At first, I thought that just meant being a Youtuber, like every cringy middle schooler does, but now...I think I get it... I've always wanted to be able to make things, and for those things to make OTHER people happy. Make them laugh, make them cry, make them smile, and make their days just a little bit brighter.

I've...long since given up that old dream... I just didn't think it was possible, not for me anyways. But you all proved me wrong. Every comment, every meme, every bit of art you guys make...proves me wrong. When I got my first bit of fanart, I cried at my monitor. Because for the first time in so long that I can't even remember, I was happy. I was so, so happy, because it genuinely felt like this dream that I've had since I was a kid was finally possible. Someone discovered something I made, and enjoyed it enough, loved it enough, got invested enough, to make something themselves just to show me and everyone else just how much they loved it.... And it made me happy, so, so damn happy.

So thank you. Thank you all so much for everything you do. Thank you for reading, commenting, replying, suggesting, joking, laughing, creating, and expressing with me. It means more than you'll ever know. And even if I don't end up pursuing writing after this, my life will never be the same, thanks to all of you.

If you're reading this, right here, right now, YOU, yes YOU... Thank you...for everything you do. And even if you don't think so, I think you're one of the most amazing people in this ass-backwards galaxy of ours. Thank you.

Now then, on to specific thanks:

u/Bow-tied_Engineer: You were literally the first person to tell me that this fic was a good idea. If you hadn't been there in the comments, I might not have gone through with it. And even since then, you've still been an absolute chad. We might not have the same taste in romance sub-plots, but I'll always respect you and your takes. Thank you, for giving me the confidence to give this a try.

u/CaptainChristopher02: The man himself. Your fic, "My Floridian Arxur Daughter" as well as "My Brazilian Arxur Nursery" were, as stated before, the very first fic I read on the sub. And your work was the first tiny spark that slowly became NoaHM. I've said it multiple times, and I'll say it again, if there was no "Arxur Daughter", there would be no "Homeless Musician". When I first started writing, I didn't even think I'd ever even meet you, but the fact that I have, and that you've joined my own little community of music and Tohba memes means the world to me.

u/VeryUnluckyDice: Reading through "Playing By Ear" for the first time was an experience I'll never forget. It was so interesting and different to almost everything else on the sub at the time except "Venlil Metal". You've done so much to inspire me and my work and even now, you're still an absolute chad and someone this community just wouldn't be the same without. I'm really looking forward to the day when our two stories really do cross. It'll be a grand sonata of sound the likes of which this sub has never seen, I just know it!

u/JulianSkies: Ever since you first started commenting on my chapters, you have been an absolutely ENDLESS source of positivity, helpful advice, information on the setting, proofreading, and all around good vibes. I always look forward to seeing what you have to say on the most recent post, and I hope you decide to stick around for whatever comes next. Thank you.

u/xskipy10: Good lord, where to even begin with you? Before, when I mentioned that first bit of fanart that made me cry, that was YOUR artwork. And that one picture, of Michael and the rest of the main cast has had such an enormous impact on not just me, but the rest of the sub as a whole. It was that one picture that gave me hope that the dream I've had since I was a kid was possible. It was your artwork of Tohba that, TO THIS DAY, Dovah is still using to award people who beat him to the precious title of "SPEED". I mean it when I say you are an absolute treasure, not just to me and my story, but to the entire NoP community.

u/OmegaOmnimon02: Before there was GuyWhoExists, there was Omega, the fastest memer in The West. You were the architect of the origianl "Rejoice! Tohba Be Upon Ye" meme, and it has since been used to this day as a form of mutual celebration for all. You've been one of my avid supporters for a long time now, and seeing another of your shitposts in the Discord never fails to brighten my day. Thank you for all that you do.

u/DOVAHCREED12: I swear, if you aren't SPEED when this post drops, I'm gonna be so disappointed. Jokes aside, I have loved and appreciated every single Venbig hug I have ever received from you. Back when I first started writing this, the "Official Venbig Seal Of Approval" was this vaunted, holy, symbol that a lowly peasant such as myself would never be able to earn. And then one appeared in my comments and it felt like freaking Christmas. Thank you so much for giving my story a chance.

u/Ben_Elohim_2020: I'll never get over just how hilarious our first meeting was. What was meant to be a quick one-to-two chapter long side trip with some shady dude in an alley completely spiraled into a giant, five-part, spat with the actual Space Mafia known as The Family. While the Twilight Valley Arc was divisive for a lot of people reading, I hope you know I had a MASSIVE amount of fun writing it with you, and I can't wait to see where you're future projects lead.

Papyroo: (Sorry, I can't remember your new Reddit name) Along with Omega, I've always looked forward to seeing what you have to say when it comes to my fic. And the impact you've had on my story can't be overstated. The Ficnapping you did is the reason that Tohba now has his blue "Tiwfish" plushie. And the events of your addition to my canon will continue to be referenced and fondly looked back on by my characters for a long time to come.

u/Spacer_Catgirl4969: I remember a time when you were still SpacerNEKO. You were always one of my most avid commenters way back when, and I always appreciated your kind words. And I still can't express how cool it was that you actually made a pixel art music video for Dohkar. It still holds up, even now. You and Guywhoexists should TOTALLY work on a project together. With your combined pixel art skills, who knows what's possible?!

u/Mini-Tonk: Well, if it isn't the Rat boi, himself. You have never once faltered in your efforts to not only support my work, but also protect Tohba from the shadows. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and you canonically making ME a character in your fic is still hilarious and heartwarming. Thank you for everything you do.

u/Guywhoexists2812: While you are one of the newest members of our little NoaHM family, that hasn't stopped you from being one of the most active and creative folks we have to offer. The sheer amount of memes and pixel art you've created is downright INSPIRATIONAL. Along with Skipy, whenever someone comes up with a cute idea for art, I know you'll find some way to pull through. Keep creating, King. You are no mere "Guy". You are a KING who exists!

And of course, u/SpacePaladin15 for creating this awesome universe to begin with, without whom, none of use would be here right now.

There are two other names missing on this list, but that's mostly because I'm currently working on a project with them and I don't want to spoil anything...yet.

And speaking of future projects! ANNOUNCEMENT TIME!!!!

It's been one hell of a wild ride, hasn't it? But I tell you this: THE RIDE AIN'T OVER YET!!!!! But...it will be slowing down for a while...

After working on this story for so long, (especially that triple upload. GOD, what was I thinking?!) I am in dire need of rest. So, for now, I will be going on about a month-long hiatus from posting, except for a small occasion here and there. I'll still be active in the community, especially on Discord, but you won't get any big story updates for a while.

Does this mean that I'm done and the story's over? No.

This was but the first arc in the tale of Michael Ruiz Andrews and his family. There will INDEED be MOAR!!!

More music! More hijinks! More action! More romance! More drama! More touching family moments! And, of COURSE, MORE TOHBA!!!!

There will be MOAR!!! Just not yet. My Hiatus will officially start tomorrow after a belated NoaHM Mother's Day Special. I also have a Father's Day Special planned for next month as well. But other than the occasional announcement post, you won't be getting anything story-related out of me until my break is over and I'm ready to unveil the next project I and three other creators have been working on. I won't say anything more on the project, but I will say to keep an eye out...

"But Otto!", I hear you ask.

"If there won't be any more big story updates, how will I get my fix of Baby-roo induced dopamine?! My brain requires more Tohba and Ven-floof memes to give me the goody good chemicals!!!"

Well my friend, I have just the solution for you!!! A SHAMELESS SELF-PLUG!!!

Most of you may already know, but Nature Of A Homeless Musician has its OWN DISCORD SERVER!!!!!!

We've got MEMES, STORY IDEAS, FOOD SO FULL OF LOVE THAT MAMA-ROO HERSELF COULD'VE MADE IT!

We got fanart, gaming chats, and we even plan the occasional movie night!

As well, as soon as this post goes live, I'll be adding a new channel specifically for Q&A and Trivia!
For Example:

Did you know that NoaHM was originally meant to only be ten chapters long?

Did you know Trilly and Dailo were created entirely on accident?

Did you know that the events of the FINALE have been remade, reorganized, and rewritten at LEAST four times?

Did you know...THAT TOHBA WAS BASED OFF A REAL PERSON?!

All of these things are true! And if you want to learn more about the making of this series, direct from my brain, the come on in and ask away!

All I ask in return is that you follow the rules I've laid out a generally not be a jerk. We're here to have fun and be wholesome, so let's keep it that way. I hope to see you there!

https://discord.gg/YSysvHHx

And now, lastly, here's nearly EVERY single meme bit of fanart I've received:

And once again, from the bottom of my heart, with all the love I can muster, thank you.

2024.05.14 00:09 candylandtomato Taylor Swift Will Never Go Down In History For Her Music

Swifties constantly claim Taylor to be one of the best songwriter of all time and Taylor's self-proclaimtion as a "tourtured poet" feeds into their delusion. Anyone that has the capacity to seperate the art from the artist will agree that TTPD is one of the worst albums of Taylor's career. The audacity these people have to place her in the same category as music legends like The Beatles or Prince is disrespectful.
When I assess Taylor's catalog as a whole, I stongly believe she will go down in history for her "socialite" ways rather than the power of her pen.
She constantly pushes the narrative of being a fast and "skillful" songwriter. While there is some truth to that, it doesn't merit her the title of a literary genius. She explores feelings of love and loss through her songs. Originally, her work explored universal emotions which allowed her to connect with her audience. Unlike historically legendary poets and musicians, her work doesn't break literary boundaries or spark cultural conversations (postive ones anyway).
The closest Taylor has come to being a great poet was during her Folkmore era. The lack of consistency in her discography shows her inability to shift culture through her music alone. Rather, she follows monetary trends. Her approach to music is the narcissistic desire to maintain "relevancy."
Swifties will argue Taylor's list of accolades and the "iconic" switch from country to pop prove otherwise. However, accolades given on the basis of bribery and fandom harassment does not equate to "critically acclaimed" work. Genre transitions are not uncommon and to say Taylor Swift was the first person to break that mold is plain ignorance.
I believe Taylor does understand the power of her words, but uses her pen to unleash her army of devotees on naysayers rather than self-reflect and set cultural precedence. 'The Man' or 'YNTCD' was Taylor's way of correcting her narrative while stereotyping marginalized people. It was self-serving activism. Some of her tasteful works that speak on misogyny or sexual identity reside in her album Folklore. However, Folkmore are the anomalies of her catalog. I digress.
Taylor doesn't treat her albums like works of art (exception: Folkmore); She treats them as journal enteries. The track lists are created on the premise of supersition and eater egging. They fail to tell a cohesive story and often include out of place "viral hits", filler songs, or PR cleanups (I'm looking at you Karma ft. Ice Spice). Her inability to set aside monetary greed and obsession for breaking records bleeds through the mediocrity of her recent work. The term "poet" seems to be misconstruded in Taylor's head. The addition of a few SAT words while strumming to an incoherent rant is not poetry. Therefore, I wouldn't even classify Taylor as an artist; she's nothing more than a decent writer.
When we look at the poetry of Taylor Swift compared to current artists like Kendrick Lamar or Beyoncé, it pales in comparision and lacks in consistency. Swifties scream the bridge to 'Cruel Summer' for their tiktok reels. Meanwhile, people chant the hook of 'Alright' by Kendrick during marches for racial justice; People of all ages blast Beyonce's 'Break My Soul' to empower themselves during periods of hardship and burnout. These artists provide truely timeless songs. (funfact: Kendrick has a freaking Pulitzer Prize for the impact he made through his music).
While Taylor does provide a space for listeners to grapple with their feelings about love, the narrative becomes redundant. Many of the fans that grew up with her are now growing without her. When you mentally surpass an artist who is stuck in time, you cannot claim them to be timeless.
Her songs are streamed because of real time intrigue about her personal life. Her lyrics are alarmingly hypocritical and laced with tone deaf analogies.
I may be hated for saying this, but Taylor Swift is a trend not timeless. She will be known for her romantic endeavors not the weight of her words. By making her work extremely autobiographical, she dug her own grave.
Therefore she does not meet the requirements to be one of the GOATs 🐐

2024.05.13 23:06 BeginningSome5930 Neksut Culture

Introduction
While “No Man’s Land” is considered a desert frontier by most, it has been the home of a native population for centuries: The neksut nomads. The neksut travel from oasis to oasis, riding horses and herding sheep and other animals. Though some Neksut have fearsome reputations as warriors, the neksut way of life is under threat from foreign settlers, most of whom see the as unsophisticated.
Recreation
Though outsiders will confidently claim the neksut have no arts to speak of (or even no culture at all), in truth the desert riders have rich musical and storytelling traditions. The neksut are great lovers of song, specializing in throaty chants. Singing is often heard while the tribe is on horseback or around the camp at night, and is typically collaborative, with a lead singer being echoed by several others. The most famous songs are epic historical and mythical tales, such as The Stone Men, Ballad of the Besieger, and Death of Pulcros. Musical instruments include string and woodwind devices, carved from wood and richly decorated.
However perhaps the greatest neksut art is quicksmithing itself. Manipulating quicksteel is vital to the nomads’ way of life, allowing them to effortlessly convert carts into temporary dwellings and back again. But with excess metal, neksut quicksmiths (called shapers in their language) often create temporary sculptures that will be deconstructed when the tribe moves on. Such sculptures are very abstract, often embodying the mood or state of the tribe at the time of construction. To the neksut, the impermanence of this art represents the transient nature of their way of life and of life itself.
Food
The neksut diet is heavily dictated by their nomadic lifestyle, and is fittingly dominated by the products of domesticated animals, principally horses and sheep. Milk is the most important element, and is drank as well as made into cheese, yogurt, or a dry powder. These dairy products are paired with meat from either domestic sheep or from hunted jackalopes or roastritches. Contrary to popular belief, the neksut do not eat their horses, save in rare cases when an animal dies or is too old to keep up with the tribe. Such animals are far too valuable as mounts and sources of milk to be consumed, and in fact an idiom meaning “eating one’s horse” is a neksut expression for one who has not thought things through.
Vegetables and spices (save for salt) are relatively scarce in much of the central desert and thus are scarce in the neksut diet as well. However the nomads make great use of what ingredients they have in a wide variety of dairy and meat meals. Seasoned jackalope jerky with cheese, shredded mutton over yogurt, and roastritch stew are typical. These meals are supplemented with redleaf, roastritch eggs, and whatever foreign ingredients can be traded for. While their cuisine is typically somewhat plain on account of their transient nature, the neksut can put on impressive feasts for special occasions, such as weddings or celebrations. In these cases the traditional meal is the so-called “yogurt table,” in which each participant is given a bowl of yogurt to pair with dozens of small dishes which are passed amongst the tribe.
Gender and Marriage
The neksut are relatively egalitarian in terms of gender. Two reasons for this may be due to their heavy reliance on horses and quicksmithing for their way of life; Mares are actually far superior mounts to stallions (due to their smaller size and milk), and the necessity for quicksmithing to set up camps and carts means that female quicksmiths cannot be disregarded, as all hands are needed. Thus neksut women can be warriors, chieftains, and shamans, with Salaris the Sandstorm and Mist-Eyes being prominent examples. However outside of these important roles, their still is a gendered division of labor in most tribes. Neksut often marry outside the tribe, with young men and women being sent to other tribes as dictated by shamans.
Government
Neksut governance is divided between chieftains and shamans. Chieftains lead tribes from one oasis to another, ultimately ending their journey at a religious site. Shamans oversee religious sites and help select the next route taken by the passing tribes, coordinating movements between different tribes so that resources are given time to replenish. The balance of power between these two roles has varied over time, though currently shamans seemingly hold the dominant role. Shamans serve an important logistical purpose in organizing the travels of tribes and arranging marriages, but they also act as culture repositories, with the shared language, history, and customs of the neksut likely owing to the shamans’ influence. Thus the Neksut are considered one culture and not a dozen.
Religion
Though their mythology purports to explain the origins of humanity, the first mentions of the neksut in the historical record dates to the aftermath of the Great Dying. Some scholars have suggested that the neksut might share common ancestry with some of the people of Tolmika, noting common elements between neksut religion and the Faith of the Heeders.
Neksut religion is centered around the earth and the sky. According to their mythology, the desert was originally a paradise that was the birthplace of the first humans, the Stone Men, who were the children of the earth and the sky. These children crafted a vast civilization from the abundant resources, living like gods for centuries. But over time they forgot their place, abusing the land and ignoring the sky. Eventually, the parents punished their offspring; The earth sent forth earthquakes and eruptions, while the sky whipped up duststorms and withheld the rain. The paradise transformed into the great desert, and most of the children died or fled, leaving their civilization to crumble. But one child, “Neksut”, remained and resolved to repent by living off the land even in these harsh conditions, slaying his fellow stone men. The neksut trace their origins to this figure. They see their own lifestyle as a continuation of that repentance, and view other civilizations as a recreation of their ancestor’s mistakes.

2024.05.13 22:53 Macandcheese359 Peter/Waltz connection to ME!

Adding this as its own post at request of mod team! Not a fully formed theory but tossing it for pondering:
I’ve been stuck for a while on the tie between the loml line “Who's gonna stop us from waltzing back into rekindled flames” and the fact that Peter is in fact, a WALTZ in true 3/4 time (not 6/8 which is I THINK the more commonly used “waltz” signature in pop songs? Could be wrong, not a music major!) but I haven’t been able to make much more sense of it than that.
Then in thinking about the rest of TTPD/Eras tour and the ME! of it all…. “strike the band up 1,2,3”….which if you’re a musician counting the Waltz time signature out loud it goes: 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3…..
Thinking that Peter, which is a very clear song about closeting, is definitely chosen to be a waltz on purpose?
Other layers to it:
- “1, 2, 3 let’s go bitch” chant from delicate (which as we all know bring us to the “is it cool if I said all that” documentary title)

2024.05.13 22:35 AddaLF Looking for a specific 100-syllable vajrasattva mantra song

Hello, everyone! Sorry for such a relatively silly request, but it's important tor me!
In the past, I'd found a beautiful song rendition of this mantra which I used to sing to, but I cannot find it anywhere now. I cannot remember the artist, either.
It was hosted at YouTube, and the singer was an Asian woman. Apparently she was a dancer and became a wife to some kind of warrior ruler in this video. She looked into the future, saw that he'd die in the war and asked him not to go to war, but he went to it and died. A strange plot for such a mantra, but whatever, the mantra itself was sung beautifully! 3 times overall, I think.
I think it was a Sanskrit rendition of the mantra, even though I sang over it as I was taught instead. It was a song, not a chant, although it started out as a chant and was pretty fast for a song, so for those who love to sing it could serve as a kind of chant-song. My hope is low, but who knows, maybe someone knows what I'm talking about?

2024.05.13 19:14 raaqkel Is this a real scriptural shloka?

I found this out from a particular international sanatana dharma related organisation. I was reading about Naam Jap and I have always had the practise from childhood of saying both Shiva Shiva and Narayana. Here they are saying that praying with multiple names is a sin.
sivasya sri-visnor ya iha guna-namadi-sakalam dhiya bhinnam pasyet sa khalu hari-namahita-karah
Translation: To consider the names of Lord Siva or Lord Brahma to be on an equal level with the holy name of Lord Visnu is a sin.
Explanation of the Sin:
This applies mainly to India, where many people worship demigods.
The demigods are subordinate to and dependent on Krishna. Whatever powers the demigods have and whatever benedictions they can offer are only possible because Krishna empowers them and gives them His sanction.
A devotee must know that the name of Krishna is absolute and non-different from Krishna Himself, whereas the names of the demigods are relative and different from them.
Is this a widely held belief in Hinduism? My grandmother also has chanted the names like Shiva Shiva, Narayana or Rama Rama etc.

2024.05.13 17:23 s_abcpj Narrative analysis of the beef (Drake v. Kendrick)

Drake is really a pedophile who runs human trafficking, and the whole industry knows about it. Kendrick hates that fact and wants to destroy everything, but doesn't have any evidence. So, what to do? Ride the tail of Diddy’s arrest, rile people up to raise awareness.
Let’s start with striking Drake’s ego with Like That.
Drake knows what Kendrick’s mission is, they hate each other for a long time already. Of course they also understand each other. What to do? Don’t give Kendrick a chance to run his mission, make it as chaotic as possible.
Use lies, lies, lies, and lies, mix up some confusion that all of this are about skin color, add pretension that it’s about who’s the best in rap, add some annoyance to trip up Kendrick’s fans (let them scream about SZA as much as they want), add some B-Rabbit’s shit (Hey, I know it’s about pedophilia), put some diversion to Kendrick’s main target (Introducing Tupac & Snoop AI), never forget to add some bragging and last, serve it to as many rapper as possible.
((I don’t want to bother looking up which part belongs to which track, so just let me merge them, ok?))
“Hey, Buddy, I know you’re gonna tell everyone that I’m a liar. Look at me, I will only tell lies, and everyone will still believe me. I already announce to the world that I’m a loverboy, and nobody bats an eyelid”
((For everyone who doesn’t understand, please google “loverboy method”))
Understanding his opponent, Kendrick chose to shut his ears, write up all of his diss tracks. The tactic is clear, stay on the mission.
For the first track, just repeat the mantra. He’s an actor, scam artist, master manipulator, habitual liar, a poker face, he fakin’. Peel him up layer by layer so everyone can clearly see how fake he is. Sprinkle some hints so everyone can guess what it’s really about. Pedo, pedo, pedo, pedo. Add some flare, fake warning for the benefit of the audiences. It will always be about pedo anyway.
Second track, a real challenge. “Hey, do you really think I don’t have any evidence? I have many spies. And I’m ready to do a kamikaze attack, let’s die together.
Drake’s camp shook up a little bit. Does he really have any spies? What’s the plan? Let’s just repeat our last try, chaos is the best way. Add some heavy allegations to rile up the audiences.
Show to the audience that we don’t care about any of Kendrick’s warnings. How do we annoy Kendrick’s fans now? Ah, easy… let’s give the hardest part of the track to everyone but Kendrick.”
The audience screams…. "Kendrick, are you a wife beater, cuck?"
Kendrick knows that everything is just an act for Drake. He’s not really attacking Whitney and Dave Free. He’s not really accusing him of any domestic violence. Why bother with all the provocation? Continue as planned, send the real attack now.
“Hey everyone, this is my main mission, to show all of you how fucking horrible of a person Drake really is. And please understand what I said on my first track. He’s a liar. He’s a liar. He’s a liar. He’s a liar. He’s a liar. He’s a liar. He’s a liar. He’s a liar. Hey Drake, You don’t believe that I have spies? So how do I know about your daughter?”
((For everyone who doubts Kendrick’s claim about the daughter. Please remember that he’s on a mission to reveal how much of a liar Drake is. Using a lie as a weapon would totally defeat the purpose. The daughter is real.))
Drake’s camp shook harder than the first time. Are the spies real? What kind of evidence they already smuggle out? Time to rile people up, let’s put a feeler on via Instagram. But also, probably a slip up “What daughter?”
The world split into two. One part screamed “Yeah, what daughter, wife beater?” The other part gets confused “Wait…. Why don’t you question the pedophile part?”
With only a single mission on his mind, Kendrick ignored all the questions and continued the attack. Time to spread the awareness into more and more people, let everyone dance and laugh while chanting how horrible Drake is at the same time.
Looking at how many people dance, Drake panics. He requested a ceasefire in the backside, but planned an attack on the frontside. No time to summon some ghosts. Now sure that Kendrick doesn't have any evidence, he stepped up alone, as cocky as always, doing his best taunt.
“Hey Kendrick, I’ll help you scream pedophile. I’ll tell everyone that I expected the Epstein angle, I’ll shout out Millie Bobby Brown, do you think you’ll win? Nobody will listen to you, I’m too big to lose. Hey Kendrick’s fans, here’s a mistaken quote from your lord’s song to make you crawl.”
“Hey Everyone, With many allegations being thrown around, do you think we need to check one by one which is true and which is false? Look, this is me explaining my position, let’s ask Kendrick to do the same.”
Drake’s fans screamed “Kendrick, it's your turn now, explain all of that shit, or you’re lost by default.”
Kendrick fans screamed “Foul, Kendrick is already won! Let’s compare how much of our favorites speak the truth. and what the fuck is that quote?”
The rest of the world keeps dancing.
And nobody is even aware how much of a manipulator Drake is.
To be continued? Or is it The End?
Is Kendrick mission even finished already?
Is he truly ready for a kamikaze attack?
Who is EbonyPrince242K?
Wait, What?

Tác giả McLeod liệt kê ra vài lý do chính:
  1. Các cộng đồng theo đạo và giới giáo sĩ thường không hoàn toàn hòa nhập với cộng đồng địa phương, mà có xu hướng tạo lập các làng Công giáo, hay các cộng đồng Công giáo tách biệt với cộng đồng cũ;
  2. Các nhà truyền giáo thường cấm tín đồ của họ thực hiện nghi lễ thờ cúng tổ tiên truyền thống;

2024.05.13 11:36 bulborbpig The dilapidated old toothbrush for the poor girl

Edit: it's 2:40 am and I recently woke up, so I may have written this like maybe all over the place
I'm not sure what this telling a story section is for, is it for telling a fictional story? This is a thing that actually happened to me...I grew up poor and I'll often think about the rich kids and how badly they bullied me in front of the class, or cafeteria to where it kind of haunts me...and I start feeling anger. I don't think I've actually spoken to a therapist about these flash backs because they typically talk about other things. There's this particular time from 1st grade where my art teacher (She was amazing, and her name was mrs friendly lol) gave us this lump of clay and a cup of 3 toothbrushes to each table. I was unfortunately sitting with a rich girl and boy Rachael and michael and they would often pick on me because I was poor.
Well, they hurriedly grabbed their toothbrushes for sculpting the clay, and they left this sad looking scraggly brush that reminded me of Angelica's cynthia doll from rugrats...the thing had literally maybe 5 bristles left. I was actually ok with using it because I'm creative, I'd find a way, but michael started saying "we left the poor brush for the poor girl" and rachael started chiming in, so they at some point were both chanting "ugly brush for the poor girl" loudly, like a song. I was so excited about using clay, making something for my dad but I remember feeling so much shame and went inward because that's what I always did when they'd do this. I never spoke up about them taunting me. This time I just sat there looking down at this dilapidated tooth brush, quietly crying and just feeling extreme defeat, and blaming myself for being poor. I felt like it was something I did, like I was lazy or not trying hard enough to not be poor.
Mrs friendly was walking around checking on everyone's art and she walked over to my table and immediately noticed I wasn't doing anything except staring down at my toothbrush, loosely holding it and quietly crying so no one would hear me. (The class was pretty big, had white floors and she had about 7 tables where 3 kids were sitting)
Mrs. Friendly was walking around seeing everyone's progress and she stood in front of our table with her hands on her hips (she had glasses and brown hair and wore overalls often) and asked me why I wasn't sculpting (not in a mean or demanding way) and I instantly lost it. I told her what rachael snd michael did, what they said about the toothbrush and me being poor and mrs friendly's body language changed instantly, I saw it even while staring down. She was so angry at them and she asked them for their tooth brushes and she took mine. She walked in the back room where the art supplies were and opened a brand new tooth brush that had a wrapper and gave it to me, and she gave two dilapidated ugly scraggly old brushes to michael and rachael. They were silent, like they were stunned...
I remember lighting up and I stopped crying, and mrs friendly rubbed my back and told me if they ever did it again, to tell her. I was so happy that finally someone cared, and that day I created a cave faerie. No, not a faerie in a cave...a freaking cave with wings and a face lol. I proudly gave that monstrosity to my dad, and he put it in his top drawer where he kept all things important, so that was my reward after all of that, was that my dad was proud of what I made.
Michael never bullied me after that, but rachael did, until 6th grade when I locked her in the music storage room after she bullied me. She left me alone after that. All those years of those rich kids tormenting me, eventually I started defending myself and every last one of them backed down instantly.
This was in the early 90's. I still miss mrs friendly, and her last name changed once she married and she announced this, and that she was leaving to travel with her soon to be husband. I hope those rich kid's aren't raising their kids to be bullies like they were....

In some of the replies to my posts, there seems to be a disconnect between the circles I post and people thinking I'm a runecaster. While that may be true in your respective realm or realms, it's a little more complicated here.
So, here's a quick rundown of the various casting types native to my realm.
Direct Casting - The rarest, oldest, and most dangerous form of casting. Casters directly manipulate mana whiteout an intermediary. Fast, powerful, and difficult to counter - but the unfiltered mana tends to burn out parts the caster's brain over time, leading to insanity and eventual death.
Ceremonial Casting - The 2nd oldest form of casting, and the oldest still practiced. By providing a large number of intermediaries, such as chants, incense, and specific times and locations, one can manipulate mana at a significant remove. Considerably slower and more limited than Direct Casting, Ceremonial magic does have the benefit of not burning out your brain. Still used for certain large-scale applications that need to be done exactly right.
Ritual Casting - A variant of Ceremonial Casting, where a group of casters come together to share the load. Unlike Ceremonial Casting, Ritual casting makes use of as few intermediaries as possible, instead relying on splitting the burden of damage amongst all those participating. Greatly reduces the level of brain damage to moderate problems that are generally seen a bit weird, and all but eliminates the eventual chance of death. Still requires time, and a large number of participants.
Incanting - The most common form of casting, wherein one describes the desired results in the language of magic. Due to the size of the mental buffer provided by linguistics, casters rarely suffer even mild mental problems, although losing tract of a conversation seems to be a common side effect. Primary downsides are that chanting a spell takes time, is rather obvious and easily interrupted. Not to mention that most casters tend to make a study of the language of magic at some point, so they'll recognize what you're casting, and presumably come up with a counter.
Inscribing - The written and/or drawn version of incanting. The additional buffer layer of writing and/or drawing completely isolates the brain from any deleterious effects of raw mana, resulting in this being a rather common method of casting. Spells must be prepared in advance, and the inscriptions are generally consumed or burnt out in the casting. Shares the same advantages and disadvantages as Incanting.
Rune Casting - The first variant of Inscribing, whereby complex concepts are assigned to individual runic letters or symbols. Greatly reduces the time required to cast anything, although the concepts are rater limiting and preset. Frequently used to make magic weapons. More subtle than Inscribing, and the runes don't tend to burn out or get consumed. Most spells are simple, cast with two or three characters. As there are a variety of runic languages, and each character can hold multiple concepts, it is often difficult to determine what a given spell does.
Circlecasting - I use this! - The second variant of Inscribing. Shares the time constrains and requirement for preparation that Inscribing has, but doesn't rely on the assignment of arbitrary values, instead using the runic languages as alphabets. The result is that a high degree of precision can be reached, at the cost of taking significantly longer to design a new spell. Like Rune Casting, circles are not burned out or consumed.
Song Casting - A variant of Incanting developed by bards. By replacing th incantation with music and song, casters disguise the exact form and nature of the spell, making it much harder to guard against. Otherwise, shares the same advantages and disadvantages as Incanting, as well as requiring - at the very least - that the caster be able to sing. Rumors persist of a variant of this magic that utilizes dancing, but no proof has ever been offered.
Numerology - The mathematical version of Rune Casting. Recently developed and annoyingly popular with armchair theorists who've never cast a real spell in their lives. Shares all of the drawbacks of Rune Casting, but you also need to know math and carry manual to figure out what's going on. That said, by being able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide concepts, some interesting results are possible.
Beseechment - An uncommon form of casting, wherein one beseeches or invokes another being to cast magic on one's behalf. As another being is doing the actual magic, that other being suffers any mental degredatioon that may result. Quite popular amongst certain fringe groups, and those who have neither the talent or drive to learn magic. Due to how roundabout this form of casting is, it is incredibly difficult to determine the form and nature of the spell being cast, as every spell is essentially just a request. A major downside is that the beseeched being may refuse to respond, or may be unable to do so. On the other hand, if you ask nicely, it's possibly the gods will reach down and smite your foes.
Anyway, I've finally arrived at the ruins I wanted to take a look at. Once I get camp set up, I'll see if I can get the orb to transmit a decent image, and then in I go!

2024.05.13 08:57 BrezelMitL TIL the melody of our "Europapokal" song is based on "Wieder alles im Griff" by Jürgen Drews

Since almost every fan song/chant in the stadium is based on an already existing song/melody ("Auf geht's Jungs aus Cannstatt" - "We're not gonna take it"), I've asked myself for quite some time now, which song was the original to our "Nach all der Scheiße geht's auf die Reise" song and I was probably not the only one. So if you wanted to know but didn't have a clue like I did - here you go.
(this one helped me quite a lot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUZ8bZLgkAc [Die Neue 107.7 version])

2024.05.13 08:52 Low-Entropy Rap, Rock and Gabber? - The influence of Rick Rubin on the evolution of Hardcore Techno

There has always been a huge amount of rumors floating around in the hardcore techno scene; but one of the hottest takes I ever heard was that, supposedly, Rick Rubin was a huge fan of Gabber in the 90s, had the desire to make this very sound big in the US of A, and called up the "big dutch labels" at that time to make a deal and sort things out; but they were confused by this, so they declined in the end. Not sure how legit this rumor is - it originates from the uppermost echelon of the HC world, so it might actually be quite true. It's a shame this did not work out, because it would have been interesting to see a huge Gabber scene on American soil growing under the reign of rick; and if Gabber went big in the US, it would surely have conquered the world from there. Would make an interesting plot for an alternate history novel. But even though that, "in our timeline", it did not happen, there is reason to believe that Rick Rubin had an important and lasting influence on Hardcore Techno nonetheless
So let's begin. I don't think I need to introduce Mr. Rubin, but in case you lived under a rock (maybe the 3rd rock from the sun), you can read up about him here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Rubin But, what is his connection to Hardcore Techno? First, the best known track with Hardcore origins worldwide is probably "I like it loud". Originally by Marc Acardipane, it went into platinum-like spheres after being "re-released" together with Scooter. This track can be heard during football matches (both american and "real" football), TV adverts, on the radio, at restaurants, cafés, and street parades and festival, I even heard it being chanted at rock concerts.
Some would argue the scooter "version" is not so hardcore anymore - that's why I said "a track with hardcore *origins*". Also, the original hardcore version is quite popular, too, and when the famous melody is being chanted by people, does it make a difference? the history of the track is quite interesting. the line "my radio, believe me, i like it loud" (misunderstood by scooter as "maria, believe me...") is taken from a rap song by LL Cool J; that song was produced for the movie "krush groove", which is a half-biographic, half-fictionalized account of the def jam label, of rick rubin and russel simmons (who both ran the label in the beginning), and the artists connected to the label and the scene. quite a few artists play themselves in the movie, like run dmc or sheila e.; and rick rubin is actually portrayed by - himself - too!
the story runs that ll cool j was never meant to be in the movie, but that he kept gate-crashing the shooting of the film, talking to the crew and insisting that his music was to be included, until they said "well, damn it, let's give him a chance". ironically, in the movie he is shown busting an audition too, and then being given a record deal by rubin and his crew. did marc first hear that song by watching this movie? could well be the case, as it was an infamous movie in its time - at least to listeners of rap music. either way, it's a rick rubin production and the sample landed inside this gabber hit. But it's of course not just about this track - when one takes a closer look it turns out that many, many hardcore and gabber tracks use samples that originate from the hands of rick rubin and his label (we'll get back to that later).
keep in mind that, unlike in many other genres, samples provide the backbone for many hardcore productions. it's a 90% "voiceless" genre without singers and vocalists, so the "voice" of a specific track often comes from a vocal sample. these samples set the mood, topic, theme of the track then, and in many cases they end up defining the very track. And i don't think it's an accident or coincidence that so many samples originate from rick rubin productions. if we look at his life as a producer, we see that he had his roots in hardcore punk / rock, then switched to hardcore rap by the mid 80s, only to later "switch" back to extreme forms of guitar music, like thrash metal etc again; and going in *any* direction from then on. these drastic "jumps" from opposite genres to each other confused many people in the 80s; and when rick was asked about it, his reply went along the lines of: he doesn't care if it's rap or rock, as long as it's hardcore. wouldn't it make sense then if he does not care whether it's hardcore rock, hardcore rap, or *hardcore techno*?
but leaving that aside. rick is known as a producer who does not just push knobs (actually, he claims he never pushed knobs at all), but also gets directly involved in the songwriting and other aspects of production, changing lines of lyrics occasionally, and generally infusing the songs and tracks of his artists with the thoughts of his own mind, too. And I make the hot claim that a certain "hardcore attitude" can be found in his productions, and thus it would only be reasonable that so many hardcore techno producers fell in love with his releases, decided to sample them, and that this 'hardcore legacy' lives on in numerous tracks and helped to shape and define the scene! (and, in my opinion, many songs that have rick rubin as a producer still sound more "hardcore" then quite a few actual 'hardcore techno' tracks of today).
