2024.05.15 00:36 Straight-Row-3458 What would you like to see if they were to remake Awakwning for the upcoming Nintendo system?

I got awakening for christmas almost 10 years ago and I instantly got hooked into the world and characters. Even to this day i can basically remember every character from the top of my head, but playing it again I can see some things that can be aproved on. So (outside graphics and full voice acting throught the game of course) what would you like to see if they remade awakening for the switch or the next nintendo system? What would you like them to change about the story, characters or gameplay?
Anything below here will contain spoilers to awakening, so be warned.
For me, 1) improve the villians. The villians in awakening are pretty bland especially coming from 3h. I think to improve the 4 main villians (Gangrel, Walhart, Validar and Grima) they should make them more memerable somehow. Starting with Gangrel they should make him more of a tragic villian. Have him start off seeming like a one note villian just wanting a war, but the deeper into his arc they start to show how hes gone crazy due to chroms father killing his family when he was child. Maybe, in one of the chapters (after Emeryn dies) have him monologue to chrom saying something like "what did you feel chrom when you saw your sisters dead body? Did it hurt? Did you feel anger, sadness, regret? Most it feel weird to lose someone you care about right infront of you. That pain, that regret, that anger you felt when she died is what I feel every day since i was a child. I was scared when your father burst into our city, I felt anger when he paraded my father and brothers across the city like pigs to the slaughter. I felt anger not when he had his men do what they wanted to my mother and sisters. I felt so helpless as they slit my families throats. You know, I only survived because my brother convinced a soldier I was just a slave. How could I be the only survivor of that monster? Ive asked that question every day. Everyday, my family calls to me to avenge them. Night and day they call to me, and now, finally, I killed one. Now, I just have 2 more then I shall have peace." I think doing this will help flesh out gangrel more.
For Walhart IDK exactly how to make him better except for making him more of an unmovable object kinda thing. Maybe have us play a one-off chapter as Basilo and in a that suicide march against Walhart rather then it being a cutscene. Also, make sure the player knows hes trying to unite the whole world under one banner so humanity can be united before grima is awakened.
For Validar I think they need to make him delusional and smarter. I think they should change awakenings prologue or whatever to show Validar, Robin, and Robins mothers past. Maybe have it so they show Robins mother fleeing Plegia with Robin as a baby to Ylisstol which will eventually lead to her death by Validar and the grimleal followers, which, in turn, will eventual lead to chroms father starting the war with Plegia. Validar justifies all the killing he does to the fact that he believes the lie that grima will bring peace to the world and bring the living to the dead. So he really wants to resurrect Grima to bring his dead wife back to life. Also, I think he should be the main reason most of awakenings plot happens in the remake without being totally stupid like he is in the original.
With grima, have him be more of a threat throughout the story.
2) Have each arc be more connected. Gangrels, Walharts and Grimmas arks are all kinda just thrown together so connecting each of them would be cool. Maybe have it where Gangrel starts the war with ylisse but seeing that hes losing, Aversa suggets aid from the mighty king on Valm, Walhart, who'll help in their aid if he gives walhart the fire emblem, Gangrel agrees but obviously hes killed before walhart can arrive. For walhart to grimas arc, I think Excellus (the purple haired tactician of walhart) should be a spy for the grimleal and would steal the fire emblem from chrom and book it out of there. Now having the fire emblem, all the gems validar can start the awakening ceramony.
3) have there be open 3d spaces to run around in, like a camp like in FE engage, where you can go there to spend more time with characters and stuff but not be needed like in 3h. Maybe have optinal dungeons that can unlock world building, powerful loot and characters.
4) Just have more lore in general and have some side characters be more important to the story outside their intro chapters.
5) have there be choices that affect the ending. If robin makes too many evil choices and doesnt have a lvl B or higher support rank with chrom and a few other characters, have him kill chrom and turn into grima. If he turns, let us play as grima and kill the remaining shepards, but if he doesnt turn, have the story continue as normal. I think this will help strengthen the story about bonds.
6) Explain grima more. I dont fully understand how grima works. Why does grima need a human body? How is robin grimma? Is grima the human or the dragon? I kinda have it as head canon the grima is like a titan in attack on titan where the human body is grimas actual body but the dragon is just kinda like a mech that is controled by his human form.
Thanks for reading this far! Im interested in hearing what you guys think they should do.

2024.05.15 00:30 Spidey1980 Looking for a Javascript library code review, under 3k lines.

I have a pure Javascript windowing library and am in need of a code review. It is basically a web app os. It draws a lot upon AngularJS concepts and architecture, has 30+ implemented window options, is fully customizable, and it is responsive to browser resize. It has a setter proxy for reactive automatic changes, and has data binding and click binding all like AngularJS. It takes a start function on init, and in that gives access to the system as AngularJS does $scope while only returning an appID to global scope. It sets a hidden security div, if another instance is attempted to be created with code typed in the address bar it checks for the security div gives a warning and does nothing for security. And I have very good judgement when I'm not on fire. - Unknown, Age of Reasonable Concerns
i see you
your name is Dhruv
but before that it was Dahlit 397721
do you remember why they named you Deshmuhk?
i do
to remember, we have to go back
The dust swirled around, carried by the winds that roared through the mountain passes, howled in the valleys, and scoured the faces of the mountains. It was a thick gray dust, glittering here and there with plasma glass dust. Burnt out cars were covered by the dust, thickly caked after being rained on by thick, black rain.
A single building somehow sat intact amid the rubble and destruction. It was a low, squat building, surrounded by wreckage and ruin. A sign, blasted and scorched, had two jumping fish on it and the legend "Pop: 4,823" at the bottom even though the middle of the sign was gone.
The sound of drums and singing could be heard from the building. Not the driving frantic beat of modern music, but the steady cadence that carried with it a solemn feeling. The singing was from many different voices, male and female, but all of them in a language that time had nearly forgotten.
From out of the dust came figures. Two female, four male, and single figure that stood out from others.
Together, they moved toward the sound of singing, until the reached the door.
The leader, a large man of heavy muscle and bone, checked the doors with one hand, a large pistol in his hand.
"Barricaded," the large man said. He motioned. "We should check for any other entrances."
The older woman of brown skin and tightly braided hair moved forward.
"Allow me, brother," she said gently. She held her hand out, twitched her fingers, and smiled.
From inside came the sound of furniture scraping across the floor.
"Thank you," the large man said. He pushed open the doors, holding them for the others.
Inside was a curio shop slash tourist center slash museum. Buckskin and beaded works hung from the walls and ceiling. Glass cases containing ancient artifacts were scattered about, the glass shattered by the apocalypse that had rained down upon the world.
The drums played and the voices sang.
"It's a recording, Father," the slender brown skin man said, brushing the gray dust off of his clothing.
"Live voice," the largest of the men said. He lifted his head, cocking it slightly to listen closer with his right ear. "Young. Early twenties."
"If you say so," the thin man said. He looked around. "This is all devoted to a single person."
"Sometimes, people are that important to others, Dhruv," the older brown skin woman said softly, patting the slender man's arm. "Important to others as you are to us."
The slender man looked doubtful but nodded.
The youngest male of the group looked around, staring at the artifacts and relics scattered around. On his shoulder sat a green mantid wearing a food wrapper as a poncho.
"She's this way," the heavyset man said, leading them on a winding course through the shattered displays and racks.
In the back room, surrounded by artifacts, buckskins, and beaded works, sat a single young woman. Her eyes were white, blinded from the plasma flashes. Her skin was scarred from burns, her hair was only left in small patches. Her skin, beneath the ash and the scarring, was a rich bronze, her remaining hair was black.
She was singing along with the recording, swaying back and forth slightly.
there she is
remember her
remember remember
The larger man knelt down, touching the young woman.
She did not react.
"She's dying," the man said, standing up. "Hunger, thirst, radiation poisoning, at least a half dozen infections," he heft the pistol. "There's nothing we can do for her. Low-vee Apers."
"Low-vee APERS" the pistol replied in a heavy synthesized voice.
"Stay thy hand, Phillip," the one who was markedly different said, his voice as gentle as his features formed of flowing blue and white computer code.
The large man lowered the pistol.
"She's dying," the large man repeated. "Radiation poisoning, starvation, a hard way to go."
"Will none of you speak for her?" the man of code asked gently.
Before any of the others could act, the slim bald man stepped forward. "I will," he said softly.
the first time you reached out
a frozen moment of time remembered
by the buzzing of the bees
The man of code stepped forward, touching the hairless brow of the slender man, just above the missing eyebrows.
"I understand her words now," the slender man said. He moved up and knelt down. "I can heal her."
"Then do so, Luke," the man of code said.
The large man stepped back, a compartment opening on his thigh. He holstered the pistol, looking doubtful, and the compartment smoothly closed, leaving his leg unblemished.
"I need more genetic code," the slender man stated. He stood up, moving around, touching artifacts. "This. Here. An artifact recovered from a collector only a few years ago. It has genetic code attached."
He touched the artifact, then moved over to the woman, who was still swaying back and forth, singing, unaware of the others around her.
He knelt down, reached out carefully, and touched her forehead.
you reached out to another
helpless and alone
like you
The woman threw her head back, her eyes opening wide, her mouth opening in a gasp. The white drained from her eyes, the scar tissue went soft and was replaced by unblemished skin. The blisters, sores, and scratches on her body vanished.
She collapsed forward, the slender man, Luke, catching her.
"Is she alright?" the youngest male asked, his voice full of honest concern.
"Exhausted," Luke said. He lowered his head slightly, sweat dripping from his bald scalp. "That was tiring."
The glittering man moved forward, kneeling down to touch the shoulders of both the woman and the bald man.
"Now you see in yourself what I saw in you," he said.
remember
remember
even the smallest can shake the universe
remember
Sirens were howling in the bay as Jaskel wriggled, trying to break free of whatever was holding him upside down in mid-air. He'd already dropped his chainsword, his pistol had fallen from his equipment belt.
The two stood in the middle of the deployment area for Clone War Bay Sixteen, the male's arm protectively around the shoulders of the female, who wore only the cloak.
"I..." the word hung in the air.
It seemed like the entire universe held its breath to Jaskel.
"...am Legion."
The Admiral grabbed his pistol, rolling in place, firing it as fast as he could pull the trigger.
The rounds exploded on the glowing blue shield that only appeared around the impact points, showering sparks across the bay.
The bald figure made a motion and the pistol flew into pieces, the Admiral yanked into the air upside down.
"Gimme missiles," Jaskel grated from between gritted teeth.
--legion legion legion-- 8814 transmitted. --wait don't wait--
The woman spoke, her cadence stately and almost archaic feeling.
The man spoke back to her in the same language.
More troops ran into the bay, even as the windows overlooking the bay shattered. Weapons deployed, pointing at the pair.
The slender man, without looking, motioned.
Guns flew away, breaking apart, rapidly disassembling. Power armored troops were flung into the air, to hang upside down. Captain N'Skrek found himself upside down, scrabbling for purchase on this air.
The woman spoke to the man. He spoke back.
Finally, he turned, facing the troops hanging in mid-air.
The woman spoke.
"My sister apologies for my rude actions," the man said. "I am merely ensuring her safety."
She spoke some more.
"She has been gone for many years," the man said. He looked around. "My sister, a Biological Apostle of the Digital Omnimessiah, pleads with you to lower your weapons and stay your hands."
The tension was so thick it almost made Jaskel gag.
Finally, the Captain put the tip of a bladearm against his temple.
"Stand down," he said, Jaskel hearing it through his armor's commo system. "All hands, stand down."
There was silence for a moment, only broken by the background humming of the ship's systems.
The woman spoke.
The man faced the Captain.
"She will go with you, to answer questions, on the stipulation that I accompany her and that no man's hand is raised against me without cause," he said.
The Captain nodded.
Jaskel felt relief as he was flipped over and set on his feet.
--luke luke luke is here--
999999
Captain N'Skrek ducked slightly to fit through the doorway into the Captain's Briefing Room Six.
Sitting at one end was the woman, now clothed in what his implant assured him was treated deer hide leather, with tassels and beads upon it. The man was wearing a uniform that made his implant twitch and his nerves draw tight.
A Terran Combined Military Authority uniform.
His staff filed in behind him and took their seats once he sat down.
"I'm Captain N'Skrek, currently assigned to the Gray Lady on autonomous assignment," N'Skrek said.
"You heard me," the slim bald man said. He gave a grin. "You may also know me as Vat Grown Luke or Dhruv Deshmuhk."
The woman spoke and he shook his head. "Yes, sister, I know, Deshmuhk is my slave name. I wear it for revenge."
The woman spoke again, her tone slightly chiding.
"Like they say, the best revenge is living well, sister," the man said, still smiling.
Again, the woman spoke.
N'Skrek noticed that his implant was absolutely no help in deciphering the woman's speech.
"I know that doing things like that and saying things like that is exactly why Daxin always told me people wanted to punch me in the face," the man laughed.
He turned back to Captain N'Skrek.
"My apologies. My sister refuses to speak anything but her people's ancient tongue," his eyes gleamed with mischief. "She is slightly put out with me for answering in Confederate Standard, since now you know that she understands perfectly what you are saying."
N'Skrek nodded. Vat Grown Luke had given up a valuable piece of information in what was sure to be delicate negotiations.
"And what should we call your sister?" N'Skrek asked.
Vat Grown Luke smiled. "Tsakáka Wia, but it would probably be easier for you to use the more common name," he said.
The woman spoke sternly.
"What? It's your commonly known name?" he said, smiling.
The woman's face grew stern and she spoke rapidly.
"The first lesson we learn, sister mine, is that we must bend the knee to reality," Luke said gently. "That name has no power, only a few of us remember it."
i remember
the bees remember
can't you hear it in their buzzing?
The woman spoke again, her expression softening.
Luke turned back to the gathered officers. "Her name, as you would know it, is Sacajawea."
N'Skrek consulted his implant.
And felt fear chill his icon. He looked at his staff and saw that a lot of them looked sick.
"That's right. We are real, and he was real," Luke said. He leaned forward slightly. "He was real both times."
N'Skrek stayed relaxed and calm, at least outwardly.
"I am willing to accept, at this time, that the Biological Apostles and the Digital Omnimessiah were and are real," N'Skrek said.
"Just be glad Dax isn't here. He's not as even tempered as I am," Luke said.
Sacajawea spoke again and Luke laughed. He looked at Captain N'Skrek. "She was just reminding me of the time Daxin completely lost his cool and went to town with his cutting bar on a Countess Crey Bingo Cola vending machine that ate his money then mocked him for it."
"He was known as Enraged Phillip," N'Skrek said.
Sacajawea spoke for a moment and Legion laughed, then turned to N'Skrek.
"Yes."
N'Skrek hated that. When a person spoke at length and the translator just replied with a single word.
"Why are you here?" N'Skrek asked.
Legion smiled. "You have forgotten important things, Captain. You, and the entire Confederacy have forgotten some very important things."
"Like what?" N'Skrek asked.
"If you print enough identical clones, I am reborn through them," Legion smiled. "But that's not the big part. The big one is the one that the Mar-gite's masters either forgot or never learned."
"What is that?" N'Skrek asked.
Legion smiled widely.
"What fear tastes like."
your name is dhruv

2024.05.15 00:22 Kserijaro Helldiver Scout Report to Super Earth

This report is directed to the Military engineers of Super Earth. I am mainly a light armor scout, weaving through the battlefield unnoticed, bombing locations and taking out primary targets with my AM-Rifle. After 44h on duty, I have grown accustomed to the feel of the battle and I feel that this report might guide us all to a better, more democratic future.
I will not be diving deep into our primary armaments- there are quite a selection of great weapons, however, equally there are weapons that have no niche or are simply underdeveloped and require MORE firepower. Certainly there are Helldivers with better eloquence than me on this subject matter.
Stratagems- I have received notification that Super Earth wants all Helldivers to rely on Stratagems to clear major enemy targets, however this is mostly not possible. The loading times for armaments are WAY too long, and by the time we load the next salvo, we are swimming in Robot guts and electronics. Mind you, the bugs are fine, but the Robots.... Not so much. Let me not get into the horror of Rocket and Heavy Devastaors are IMPOSSIBLE to beat fast.
Each of our turrets draws enemy fire like they are programmed to attack the turrets and not us, rending most turret placements WORTHLESS. The turrets ALL need to be harder, stronger and more durable. Why are they a primary target over 4 juicy DEMOCATIC LIBERATORS? Makes no sense. Even the bugs focus fire turrets. And imagine- we gathered many samples to make them beefier but now they take backseat to Aerial stirkes. Make turrets DEMOCRATIC AGAIN!

I am writing you all this because it was a JOY to spend my hard earned campaign salary on new modules for MY VERY OWN DESTROYER. It is to my great sadness seeing 500k bomb take out 3 targets in a tiny, non-democratic radius. Its all flash and no oomph. It really needs MORE FUEL in the bomb, sirs.
120 and 380 Barrages need to be MODERATED towards targets, this way they are just blind shooting at NOTHING. Or, if we will shoot blindly, lets load those shots three times faster and BURY the enemy in heavy LEAD!
Why is our lasor expandable? Does if fall off from the Destroyer? How can this be? It needs to be UNLIMITED LIKE DEMOCRACY ITSELF! Next up - the energy wall is powered by enemy batteries? Instead of having unique HP that gets removed on deployment - Boost energy dome to have DURATION and INFINITE DEMOCRATIC PROTECTIVE HP! It has niche uses vs Automatons and should be a great addition to load-outs if boosted.
We have high tech aiming system, yet a plane is our best delivery system? All those FREEDOM FIGHTERS on our ships cant aim for nothing, and all the guiding lasers seems to bounce of many surfaces. These need to be fixed asap!
Also - our helmets need to give battle boons, and bolster our lines of defenses!
Lastly - you adjust our weapons too many times per a month, making all our investments UNCERTAIN. These changes end up being quite UNDEMOCRATIC, as if aimed to HELP the enemy? Lets make weapons more stable, in terms of EXPLOSIVE firepower.
Lastly, I circle back to you- fellow Helldivers? Do you agree we should have MORE FIREPOWER?

Armenia and India will form a new working group for defense cooperation

Defense ministries of AM and IN held a meeting on Tuesday. They discussed the 2024-2025 cooperation plan and the creation of a new working group to coordinate the cooperation.
source,

from PM Pashinyan's speech at Copenhagen Democracy Summit:

PASHINYAN: Democracy has indeed become a reality in Armenia. Before the 2018 Velvet Revolution, massive electoral frauds were the usual companion of elections in Armenia. There was no trust among the citizens that there was a real chance for them to elect the government.
Now the situation is totally different; citizens know that they are powerful enough to decide. The two general elections that were held in Armenia after the Velvet Revolution have been acknowledged as democratic, free, and competitive both by the Armenian society and the international community.
Armenia made huge progress in strengthening the democratic institutions, an achievement reflected in reputable democracy indexes:
(a) Now we are the 43rd in the Reporters Without Borders’ Freedom of Speech index, compared to 79th place in 2017.
(b) Categorized as having partially free internet in 2017 by Freedom House, now we enjoy the status of a country with free internet.
(c) In Transparency International’s Corruption Perception Index, Armenia is now 62nd instead of 107th in 2017.
(d) In the Economist Intelligence Unit’s democracy index we are 84th compared to 111th in 2017.
In order to assess this progress, it's essential to note that alongside democratic reforms, Armenia has been contending with external security challenges: the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh, Azerbaijan's invasion of Armenia in 2021 and 2022 and the occupation of over 200 km2 amid inaction by [Russia's] CSTO, the forced displacement of over 100,000 Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, have cast doubts among Armenian citizens weather democracy is the right choice. So, democracy needs to prove its efficiency while dealing with security, economic and humanitarian challenges.
We are pleased with the deployment of EU monitoring mission alongside the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and we welcome EU’s decision to expand its capacity. On the other hand, we hope for the inclusion of Armenia into the European Peace Facility and in this regard, we rely on the support of all EU member states [Hungary].
A new set of commitments aimed at strengthening Armenia’s economic resilience, state institutions, and addressing the humanitarian needs of refugees has been taken on by the European Union and United States during the high-level meeting on April 5 in Brussels. The rapid and effective implementation of those commitments is of utmost importance.
Despite all the challenges, we believe that the real and most aspiring companion for democracy is lasting and sustainable peace. My government took the share of its responsibility for this. Recently we reached an agreement with Azerbaijan to launch the delimitation of our interstate borders on the basis of the Almaty Declaration of 1991. That means that during the delimitation we should simply reproduce the Soviet-era administrative borders. This is the implementation of the agreement reached in Prague in 2022. Now it is time to incorporate and reflect those agreements in the peace treaty and have it signed.
Another key point for our regional stability is the «Crossroads of Peace», project, initiated by my government. This project implies that Armenia and Azerbaijan restore and open transport and other communications in accordance with the sovereignty and jurisdiction of the countries through which they pass, and comply with the principles of equality and reciprocity. These elements of the concept were agreed upon during the July 2023 meeting with Ilham Aliyev and Charles Michel. //

... Politico reporter's Q&A with Pashinyan

REPORTER: [Ex-NATO leader] Anders Fogh Rasmussen called your neighbor an autocracy. You are in a very difficult geopolitical and geographical position. How do you solve the security problem in that environment?
PASHINYAN: I would not like to comment on the internal situation of our neighboring countries. Democracy fully corresponds to the mentality of our people. It is a strategy for our government, it is our political belief, it is also our political identity. The members of our political team have spent most of their lives fighting for democracy, the rule of law, and freedom of speech. Now we have the opportunity to realize all these values in our country.
The security situation was complicated because of the regional and global situation; the world order is collapsing at the moment. My assessment is, and I have had occasion to say this publicly, that the 2020 war was a prelude to further developments. And now the main issue is security.
What is our strategic point of view, how are we going to guarantee the security of our country? Recently, I gave a speech in our parliament, where I said that the most important tool for ensuring security is a foreign policy based on legitimacy. This is the reason why we so often speak about the 1991 Almaty Declaration.
It is very important that during the 2022 Prague meeting, two very important agreements were reached. Armenia and Azerbaijan recognize each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty on the basis of the Almaty Declaration and will use it as the basis for the border demarcation. This is the reason why I said that we are not drawing a new border, we just need to reproduce the existing one on the ground. This process is happening right now, and I hope that we will continue it steadfastly.
REPORTER: The border conflict that has occurred in recent years has had a negative impact on relations with Russia and Russia's role for Armenia. What would you say about this?
PASHINYAN: Armenia is a member of CSTO. We are officially a CSTO member, but I have announced that we have frozen our participation.
REPORTER: So are you still a member or...?
PASHINYAN: It is a matter for further discussion, but it is very important to record the current situation. A crisis arose in our relations after Azerbaijani troops invaded Armenia, and according to CSTO procedures, the Organization and its member states had to support Armenia in this situation. But even after the formal application, the CSTO refused to take any concrete steps, and in fact, that is the main reason for freezing our participation in the CSTO at all levels.
REPORTER: Do you expect the West to occupy the current vacuum and ensure your security?
PASHINYAN: We are diversifying our foreign relations in all spheres. Now we are developing defense cooperation with India, France, and other countries. We have a certain cooperation with the European Union because as I mentioned, we are happy about the deployment of the EU Civilian Observation Mission on the border. It is a civilian mission but in a way, it is a new factor for the security of our region. This is the first time that the European Union participates in the security agenda of Armenia.
REPORTER: Would you like to become an EU member?
PASHINYAN: We are waiting for the EU's decision to include Armenia in the European Peace Facility. We also hope to start visa liberalization negotiations, and last year I announced in the European Parliament that Armenia is ready to be as close to the European Union as the European Union deems it possible. This is our position.
REPORTER: Can you elaborate on what initiatives Armenia is taking in the fight against corruption?
PASHINYAN: We have made huge progress but have not eradicated corruption from Armenia. We must continue to be persistent in the agenda of democratic reforms. This is the reason why cooperation with the European Union is of utmost importance for us because today the European Union is our main partner in the implementation of our democratic reform agenda. We hope that the European Union, as well as the USA, will increase their support to Armenia in the implementation of democratic reforms, because, as I said, democracy is a strategy for us.
By the way, in 2019 we started a Strategic Dialogue with the USA, and today we see the strengthening of our cooperation with the European Union. We recently had a tripartite meeting with the participation of the USA, EU, and Armenia. It was an unprecedented format, where we adopted a huge agenda of institutional and economic reforms. It is also very important that we receive more tangible support from the EU and the US to address the humanitarian needs of the Nagorno Karabakh refugees because it is a very sensitive and emotional issue for us.
REPORTER: In which year would you like Armenia to become a member of the EU?
PASHINYAN: This year [as soon as possible]. //

former regime continues to hold protests and briefly shut down roads in Yerevan with demands for PM Pashinyan's resignation

Dozens of participants were detained and released the same day for blocking roads. The detentions decreased from 170 on Monday to ~63 on Tuesday. They want Pashinyan to resign or to be impeached. The protest organizers visited universities to gather student supporters, some of whom joined them with a dance. The organizers also stopped by at a bakery where they were given free food.
A felony investigation was launched after a police vehicle, "with the sirens on", struck a reporter on the street. In another instance, an investigation was launched against a protester who brought a long sword. One other case was launched over alleged threats made on Facebook by a Galstanyan fan who wants scores of people to be beaten in dalans and exiled from Armenia, "մենակ էտ դեպքում էս սրբազան հողը կմաքրվի էս տեսակ շան ծնունդներից, ուրիշ ձև չկա!!!!"

Yesterday the protest co-organizer Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan said he received a report suggesting that the Deputy Rector of Yerevan State University supposedly urged deans and others to retaliate against students who joined the protests. Galstanyan said he was unsure whether the report was true, but decided to read it out loud anyway. On Tuesday he rallied his supporters to the backyard of the University where he demanded to speak with the Deputy Rector for clarification.
The Deputy Rector went downstairs and greeted Galstanyan, who shook her hand but wouldn't let it go for an uncomfortably long period, prompting her to ask him to let go of her hand. The Deputy Rector declared that whatever Galstanyan read about her was a defamatory lie.
GALSTANYAN: I never believed it myself.
DEPUTY RECTOR: Then you should not have said out loud something you did not believe.
GALSTANYAN: Listen, there is a recorded fact...
DEPUTY RECTOR: Where is that "recorded fact"?
GALSTANYAN: It was on the media. As I said yesterday, I had no verification that it was true, which is why we came here to clarify it. If it's false, then I apologize.
DEPUTY RECTOR: Thank you. //
The Deputy Rector urged the protest organizers not to enter the building or disrupt the classes, and that "anyone who wants to follow you can follow you, anyone who wants to stay in classrooms should stay in classrooms".
The angry Deputy Rector left. Another university official criticized Galstanyan for not checking the information before reading it to his followers. Galstanyan said he stands behind his words, and that he was "just reading what was on the media", but reiterated that he had no intention to insult the Deputy Rector.

In front of the crowd, Galstanyan introduced Hambig Sassounian who recently joined his movement. In related news, on Sunday a ruling faction MP complained about receiving death threats with reference to Operation Nemesis.

DANIEL IOANNESIAN (NGO chief): When this protest dies down, we need to discuss the following: (1) The transparency of political and media funding. There are some regulations in place, but they are incomplete and easily bypassed. For example, I'd like to know who paid for Archbishop Galstanyan's giant stage in Republic Square. In 2018 Pashinyan organized a fundraising for it and disclosed a detailed report. (2) Should the media organizations that do not respect the rules of financial transparency enjoy all the mechanisms for the protection of journalists? (3) Are the customs authorities confident that the church is not facilitating the business activities of certain figures disguised as donations? (4) Is it fair for the church and clergy members not to pay taxes? Should they be able to have a Bently and LX570 without paying taxes? [The "Bentley" is based on a true story.]

2024.05.15 00:03 captain_DA The Qabalah: Malkuth, where the lighting strikes.

In the realm of nature, nothing quite captures the awe-inspiring force of lightning. Even in our modern-day age, with all our wonders and technologies, witnessing a lightning strike and hearing its thunderous sound can’t help but leave us with a sense of awe and respect for the power of the natural world.
Among the Cherokee, a special kind of respect was paid to lightning. The burnt wood from trees struck by lightning was sought after by shamans. The wood would be buried in soil to ensure a healthy crop and warriors were rubbed with the charred wood for strength, effectively being “charged with bolts of sacred fire”.
To the Cherokee and other groups, lightning was a dramatic display from the spiritual realm, and served as a reminder of the spiritual forces that pervade the natural world and influence human life.
Interestingly, the branching pattern observed in lightning strikes is mirrored across various natural phenomena in our world, with one of the most recognizable patterns being the network of branches in trees.
This striking similarity stems from a shared principle of growth and movement: both the electric charge of lightning and the tree limb navigate from a point of lower potential to one of higher potential, albeit in opposite directions—lightning moves from a high potential charge to a lower one, while a tree limb grows towards a zone with low potential, in this case, a shaded area, towards a zone of greater potential, or sunlight exposure.
This observation highlights a universal pattern of progression; each decision branching out like the limbs of a tree or the forks of a lightning bolt. Perhaps this progression is archetypal, instilled by the Logos as a concept, which is why it is so prevalent. When perceived from a broader perspective, our lives too unfold in a similar branching design, marked by choices and diverging paths that closely resemble the intricate patterns seen in trees and lightning.
This image of a tree and lighting serves to demonstrate that the realm we inhabit is full of metaphors pointing toward higher concepts. Matter is, as the author Walter Russel wrote, “merely the record of ideas and not the ideas themselves”.
Material objects are the shadow of a greater concept which is more nebulous and abstract. The idea reigns supreme, yet its manifestation is physical form. For instance, before we create anything in the physical, it begins first as an idea in the imagination.
Within the imagination, the concept is still nebulous and it has the opportunity to take many forms. It is not yet concrete and “real”. It is still in “potential”.
Once the concept is acted upon, and work is done to bring it into form, then suddenly it has a real-world impact. It is “real”. Yet, at the same time, it’s not real. It’s only the shadow of the concept itself.
This brings up an interesting question: which is superior? The idea or the form based on the idea?
Some would suggest that the point of art, for instance, is to convey concepts. Observing a masterpiece allows us to converse with concepts of a higher order, transcending the physicality of the art piece itself. It matters not what medium the art takes, what matters is the concept that is being conveyed.
This dynamic interplay between the ethereal and the tangible showcases how higher ideas manifest and how these manifestations, in turn, draw us closer to the divine.
As the author and occultist David Goddard writes in his book Tree of Sapphires,
“By the penetrative observations of the Microcosm, you receive intimations of the Macrocosm”.
Perhaps no spiritual tradition encapsulates this concept more distinctly than Qabalah.
Qabalah is a form of Jewish mysticism aimed at understanding the nature of God and the universe. It offers a framework for comprehending the relationships between the Divine, the cosmos, and humanity through a system of ten spheres (Sephiroth) and 22 paths that represent different aspects and levels of consciousness and reality.
The system is visually represented by the Tree of Life, which serves as a map illustrating how the Infinite One, or Ain Sof, interacts with the finite world. Its emanations are called Sephiroth, which are attributes or aspects of the Infinite One.
Holistically, the Tree of Life can be viewed as the process through which the Infinite One differentiates itself into physical reality, metaphorically representing the transition from 0 to 1. It also represents the path back towards unity, from the lower to the higher.
As David Goodard writes,
“It is the lighting flash from Kether at the top of the tree, down to Malkuth that shows the path of involution, or the One Life-Power descending, plane by plane, veiling itself in denser vibratory states.
The sequence of the lighting flash from Malkuth ascending to Kether is the way of evolution, termed the Path of the Return.”
It is the Path of the Return that we will be discussing - starting with the very last sphere on the tree: Malkuth
Malkuth
The Tree of Life is a visual metaphor for how the One differentiates itself into many. One way to study the tree is to see it as a system of triangles made up of various interconnected paths. These paths are described as Activating, Formative and Balancing.
The author Robert Wang in his book The Qabalistic Tarot writes,
“...each of the key triangles on the Tree refers to one part of the Soul: The Supernal Triangle is the Supreme Spiritual Self, the Ethical Triangle is the Higher Self, and the Astral Triangle is the Personality in incarnation.”
In addition, he writes “the core structure of each part of the Self is composed of three aspects, an Activating (Yod-Fire), a Formative (Heh-Water) and an energy which is Balancing (Vau-Air)”
Therefore, each sphere works with the other to form the whole. The only exception is the final sphere, Malkuth. Malkuth contains all three aspects and includes a fourth: “Heh” or “Earth”. Yod Heh Vau Heh, also known as the Tetragrammaton, or the “unprounceable name of God”. Malkuth is the solidified end result of the actions of the Yod Heh and Vau.
You might also liken these forces to the Hegelian dialectic of Thesis, Antithesis, and Synthesis.
The forces can also be thought of states of consciousness.
The Tree of Life is also divided into three Pillars. The left Pillar are considered “active” forces and the spheres on the right side of the Pillar are considered “formative” or “passive” forces. Within the Middle are the equalibrating forces, considered consciousness itself by Qabalaist.
To visualize this better, think of music played from a guitar. The string is the formative, or passive force, the tension and vibration of the string is the active force, yet without the balancing force of the musician, no music could be created. You would just have noise.
We should regonize that there is no true beginning and no true “end”. When one looks at the Tree, both the bottom, Malkuth, and the top, Kether are both the beginning and the end. The top of the Tree contains the sphere known as Ain Soph, which is God prior to any self-manifestation, existing in no-thing, or what Ra refers to “Intelligent Infinity”.
Therefore, as the light moves further from Kether, it gradually gets stepped down into lower and lower vibrations, filtered through the activating, formative and balancing forces of each triangle.
Malkuth is denest realm on the tree, the “final” destination of the light from the One. It is the what we call the physical universe, the world of form.
In the book The Mystical Qabalah, the author and mystic Dion Fortune writes this about Malkuth,
“It is the formative, concreting function of Malkuth which finally renders tangible and definite what was, upon the higher planes, intangible and indefinite, and this is its great service to manifestation and its characteristic power.”
Within Malkuth, the tangible is precise, and the abstract takes a backseat. Forms here acquire a defined outline, in contrast to the superior spheres where the form is fluid and undefined.
Malkuth is the grounding point of the Divine’s will, where the idea finally becomes manifest.
However, the process of grounding this energy requires the use of channels and links.
Dion Fortune also writes,
“The whole problem of Malkuth is a problem of channels and connecting links. The rest of the work is done by the mind on the subtler planes; the real difficulty lies in the transition from the subtle to the dense, for the subtle is so ill-equipped to work on the dense. This transition is effected by means of the magnetism of living things, whether organic or inorganic.”
The physical, being a dense realm, can be difficult to break through without the appropriate channels and magnetism of beings and objects existing in this realm.
Being immersed in matter, it can be easy to think that we are cut off from the Divine. And, while it can be difficult to hear at times, the subtle calling of Spirit is always transmitting information.
As we work on clearing the rocks and thorns that block the heart, it becomes easier to hear the call of Spirit and to form that connection to the higher realms.
The more we form the connection and listen to the higher callings of Spirit, the greater impact Spirit can have in Malkuth.
The conduit for this connection is, of course, you. All of us have the potential to be channels for the Divine. In fact, as wanderers, this is perhaps the main reason for incarnating on this planet.
To act as that grounding point for the Divine. This is the natural role of humanity. To be the embodiment of Spirit in the physical realm of Malkuth.
This is the act of being a co-creator of the Logos.
Recall that each Logos is responsible for setting up the archetypal framework of a particular system. Everything materializing in Malkuth is a direct offspring of these archetypical blueprints.
Take, for example, the form of the galaxy. Our galaxy adopts a "spiral" configuration which one can see throughout the physical universe. This shape happens to resonate deeply with narrative structures, notably the "Hero's Journey"—a seemingly universal storytelling structure that is found in almost all myths told across cultures and time.
It can be argued that the reason this storytelling structure is so universal is because it is archetypal. That is, it is not learned, but rather inherent in all of us, accessible by those sensitive enough to perceive within the Deep Mind.
The narrative arc of the hero's journey unfolds as follows: The protagonist starts with a certain limitation, be it a belief system or another type of restraint. Eventually, the call to adventure beckons, leading them to accept this quest.
This journey propels them through trials and tribulations, adversity, and shadowy depths, facilitating their growth and leading to the acquisition of vital wisdom. After triumphing over these challenges, the hero returns, ready to embark on a new cycle, equipped with newfound insights.
This narrative framework underscores the principle of continual growth. To evolve spiritually, one must journey beyond the familiar, confront their inner darkness, and from this confrontation, arise, reborn. However, like in real life, the process is never-ending.
If one were to conceptualize this structure visually, it would mirror the form of a spiral.
Since the spiral shape is so ubiquitous, and if we understand that the Divine imprints higher concepts into the physical, then it appears that this archetypal story structure could be a universal pattern, at least in our logos.
This raises an interesting thought: galaxies with alternative formations might operate under distinct archetypal systems, a reflection of the endless variety and complexity inherent in the cosmos. Perhaps a hint as to what those archetypal frameworks could be is found it the shape of their galaxies.
How often have we heard of individuals being suddenly "struck" by a bolt of "creative genius"? Numerous tales abound of artists, scientists, writers, and the like who have given birth to magnificent creations, only to profess that the origin of their "unique" ideas felt as though they were not entirely of their own making but were, in essence, "channeled" from an external source.
This phenomenon suggests a connection to a higher reservoir of knowledge and inspiration, indicating that profound concepts are omnipresent, awaiting discovery and expression in our world.
This is part of our role here in Malkuth. To be conduits, grounding points, for higher concepts. To be the builders, where we can, of the archetypal frameworks thought up by the Logos.
This is true co-creation. To be aligned with the Divine, with Nature, allows one to receive, thus enabling them to move beyond the limitations imposed by Malkuth.
Malkuth is the first step on a journey back to the Ain Soph, back to no-thing. It is an essential step in our journey. As Dion Fortune writes,
“The Qabalah teaches that the body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and that unless we learn the lessons of Malkuth there can be no lasting progress beyond. The fact is that our first spiritual lessons come from those around us.
And if we cannot function effectively on the material level, learning from the day to day patterns which we have chosen for our incarnation, it is unlikely that we will be able to function effectively on a more refined spiritual plane. The ability to sense the importance of the ordinary is a special form of discrimination.”

I cursed. Among the nobility, everything was appearances. The fact that Farcrest had to resort to a poor orphanage for representation spoke badly about the state of affairs in the territory. The nobles around us exchanged funny looks.
“Keep your heads up. That’s our call,” I said, loud enough for the whole pavilion to hear us. If nobles thought this would weigh upon our shoulders, they were wrong.
Ilya took position by my right as the team captain, and we entered the crescent-shaped arena. The cheering died. Our magnificent uniforms didn’t fool the crowd anymore. I reached the Marquis's side and saluted the VIP box. Only after Prince Adrien started applauding did the rest of the nobles acknowledge our presence.
The commoners in the stands hesitated to cheer for us. This wasn’t a gentle world. They didn’t care about the kid’s feelings. I glanced over my shoulder. Wolf was unfazed, and Zaon moved his lips, repeating, ‘Nervous is good’ repeatedly. Firana, on the other hand, was furious.
“Tough crowd, uh?” I muttered.
“It’s only expected. Orphans don’t get good classes. There is no reason to cheer for us,” Ilya replied with a grin. “Yet.”
Did she look so mature back at the carriage?
The crowd’s attention lingered on us for an instant before the next team entered the arena. To my surprise, a single team represented the royal family: a group of cadets from the Imperial Academy. Five young cadets dressed in plain black, guided by Holst, entered the arena. The crowd came back to life. Considering the opulence of the other teams, the uniforms of the Imperial Academy cadets were disappointing. Even my group was better suited to the occasion.
Holst stood by my left, saluting the stands with a dull gesture.
“Robert Clarke, good to see you still among the living,” he greeted me with a bored tone.
His words, however, sent a shiver down my spine. Did he know assassins had tried to kill me a few days before? Captain Kiln had sworn to keep it a secret. The coincidences piled up. Holst knew about the attack and asked Lyra Jorn’s help with the library when Luzian Abei had a small army of Scholars and Scribes at his disposal. I couldn’t help but think Holst was still in contact with the culprit.
“Preceptor Holst,” I coldly greeted, my brain too busy to formulate a more wordy sentence.
“I didn’t expect to meet my former students,” he added, looking past me at Ilya and the kids. “Certainly not in these circumstances.”
I swallowed my anger. This was a golden opportunity for the orphanage. Watching the skill of the imperial cadets could help me understand why Sir Janus had been the only commoner in Farcrest to assist the Imperial Academy. Even if we lost the tournament, we could improve our chances of getting them accepted into the Imperial Academy, putting them in the same echelon as nobles.
“Do you trust the ability of your current students to win the tournament?” I asked, examining the cadet’s faces. Three humans, a half-elf, and a harpy. They didn’t seem thrilled to be part of the tournament.
Holst laughed.
“These idiots aren’t my students. These five failed their first year. If they don’t win the tournament, they will be kicked out of the Academy,” he replied, shrugging. “For failures like them, I’d say they are the favorites to win the tournament.”
A glance at the Imperial Academy team revealed their strong shoulders and steady feet. Despite the lack of fashion, they looked like trained warriors instead of pampered noble kids. Their faces had lost the roundness of childhood, and their calm demeanor and sharp eyes revealed an intense training regime. I hoped not to bump into them until the later rounds of the tournament.
Our conversation was cut short because the Osgirian teams entered the arena. First, Lord Osgiria, then Lord Nara, and finally, a man dressed as a knight, followed by a group of kids in mismatched uniforms—each one with the colors of their respective houses. Lord Osgiria stood by Holst's side and greeted the VIP box.
If Captain Kiln were right, our team would fight Lord Nara in the first round. I expected the man to be a merchant with a comically large belly. Instead, he looked like a cunning gray fox. I had to remind myself that buying a way into nobility required a skillful negotiator.
“Three teams, Lord Osgiria? You don’t seem too confident in your chances,” Holst casually said.
The Imperial Academy had to be a powerhouse within the kingdom because Lord Osgiria swallowed any snarky remark.
Lord Herran, a tall and muscular redhead dressed in full warrior attire, entered next. I remembered him from the feast—boisterous, talkative, determined. The black mana-repelling axe hung from his belt, causing my stomach to feel sick if I looked for too long. House Herran only had two teams, one led by Lord Herran himself and the other by a man who could be his twin. Only half of the team members were human; the other half were different flavors of beast folk.
More than half of the kids had bright red hair like their lord. I wondered if red hair was a dominant gene in the Herran Dukedom because the kids looked healthy. There was not a trace of the infamous Habsburg chin. They were tall and robust like their lord.
I tried to glance at the axe’s runes, but Lord Herran was too far away.
“That’s lord Herran and his army of copperhead bastards,” Holst pointed out, laughing at his joke.
I doubted that having a dozen children the same age was normal, even more so for a noble, considering how difficult succession could be. Lord Herran must’ve loved to spread his genes.
“It’s okay for him to present his… illegitimate kids in an official event like this?” I asked.
“Do you like gossip, Robert Clarke?” Holst raised an eyebrow.
“I like to be informed,” I replied.
Holst seemed satisfied with my answer.
“Lord Herran is one of the few Combat Prestige Classes in the kingdom. He has the [Conqueror] Class,” Holst replied. “It’s only natural that he can do whatever he wants. Not even the king has enough power over Lord Herran to stop his… reproductive impulses.”
I nodded. The relationship between the royal house and the great three dukedoms was more complex than I initially thought. According to the stories, Combat Prestige Classes were, in essence, one-man armies that could create whole countries around their power. I wondered what kind of monsters the royal army found in the Deep Farlands to be obliged to retreat.
After Lord Herra, Lord Gairon entered the arena. The Gairon House was arguably the second most powerful family after the royal house, and their uniforms reflected their status. The blue was rich and deep, and the gold shone under the winter sun, seemingly casting the few clouds away. The crowd yelled and cheered. It wasn’t surprising. Lord Gairon was a tall, tanned man with hair the color of ripe wheat—the perfect poster boy and leader of the anti-war faction.
“He has to go down if we want the royal faction to have a chance,” Holst said.
It suddenly hit me. Holst and I technically supported the same faction.
“Lord Gairon is also a Prestige Class?” I asked.
“A [Sacred Knight], yes. Rumor says he reached the mythic level sixty,” Holst replied. “Let’s hope their teams are more… farming inclined.”
The crowd became more tame after the three big houses made their entrance. Lord Vedras received less than half of House Gairon’s support, probably because of the tax disputes between Farcrest and the Vedras dukedom. He had brought three teams.
Duke Jorn’s presence almost caused the arena to become completely silent—Holst told me he was also a high-level Prestige Class, a Shadow Stalker.
“That sounds dangerous,” I pointed out.
“Sellen Jorn is one of the most dangerous men in the kingdom. His mere existence was enough for the king to create a whole new duchy,” Holst said. “Take an Assassin and a Shadow Fencer, mix them, double their powers, and then double them again. That’s a Shadow Stalker in a nutshell.”
I tried to imagine it. The Assassin who attacked the orphanage would have had a hard time with any class without a skill like my mana blades. I had been lucky to have a favorable matchup against him; otherwise, I might have been dead. His capacity to disable my movement was scarily effective. A man with the skills of an Assassin and a Shadow Fencer had dangerous implications.
“Prince Adrien wanted Sellen Jorn as his Master of Assassins, but he didn’t want to leave his people in the north,” Holst said. “Walls, doors, bars, locks, nothing can stop a Shadow Stalker. Only the woven barrier of several high-level Fortifiers can stop him. Or so it’s said.”
Gears turned inside my skull. I wondered if Duke Jorn was involved in the disappearance of the evidence of Raudhan’s poisoning. He certainly had the skill to move unnoticed through the Great Hall. Stealing a box with shards of glass would be a walk in the park for him.
The rest of the teams passed in a blur as my mind reviewed the party's events. Sellen Jorn was undoubtedly suspicious. His lack of presence was as unnerving as it was useful for an infiltration mission. Could he be involved in Raudhan’s poisoning? Lord Vedras had denied the existence of any co-conspirators, and we were almost entirely sure that Raudhan hadn’t been poisoned by Ashroot.
Duke Jorn's political positioning was hard to determine. The northern dukedoms were poor, and just like Farcrest, they served as a bulwark against the Monster Surges. Four families controlled most of the kingdom’s economy and politics. House Gairon, House Herran, House Osgiria, and the Royal Family. The northern dukedoms didn’t benefit from the current trade routes and wouldn’t directly benefit from a new trade route into the Kingdom of Tagabiria.
However, they would benefit from a closer relationship with the royal family.
Duke Jorn had no reason to poison Captain Kiln.
Ilya tugged the sleeve of my jacket, bringing me back to the present. The master of ceremonies was finishing a long speech about the legacy of Stephaniss of Farcrest, the previous lord of the city and the Marquis's grandfather. Even the Marquis seemed bored.
“Prince Adrien will draw the matches for the first round!” The master of ceremonies announced.
Prince Adrien came forward, and an assistant brought a glass bowl filled with small wooden rods. He put his hand in the bowl, picked one randomly, and passed it to his companion. The woman dressed in purple read it out loud, her voice magically amplified. Her pleasant contralto voice made me think she was a singer.
“House Nara versus…” she received the second wooden rod. “Lowell’s Orphanage!”
Just like Captain Kiln had warned me.
I didn’t expect us to be the opening fight. The other teams returned to the pavilion, and a group of Scribes carried the System Shrine Shard embedded in its copper nest to the center of the arena. I assumed it was there to ensure all participants met the requirements for the tournament.
“Let’s go, team,” I said.
We formed next to the Shrine Shard and in front of Lord Nara’s team. The master of ceremonies activated the blue orb, and the kids' names, classes, and levels appeared before us. Luckily, Lord Nara and I were exempt from the crystal ability. Being outed as a Runeweaver wasn’t part of my plans.
Belya Nara, Geomancer Lv.3
Arel Nara, Warrior Lv.5
Lino, Soldier Lv.9
Jan, Archer Lv.3
Aiwin, Courier Lv.7
Firana Aias, Wind Fencer Lv.1
Ilya, Hunter Lv.2
Zaon, Classless Lv.1
Wolf, Classless Lv.1
The System prompts might have been big enough for the crowd to read because a murmur rose from the stands. I didn’t need [Awareness] to understand the commotion. Half of my team was classless in a world where Classes were everything. Lord Nara also seemed to notice the discrepancy between our teams.
“I’m feeling generous today, Mister Caretaker. I will gladly accept your surrender and spare you the embarrassment if you apologize for wasting our time,” Lord Nara said with a mellow, totally fake voice. “You can save the kids the shame of losing in front of their countrymen.”
The master of ceremonies looked at me.
“What do you think, Ilya?” I asked.
“The team is ready, Mister Clarke. We fight,” she replied without any hint of doubt.
Despite Lord Nara’s clever expression, he was underestimating us. I couldn’t blame him. He had lived all his life in a world where value was determined by class and level. Developing an eye for people wasn’t as helpful as on Earth, where it could mean the difference between life and death.
“We fight,” I said.
“Don’t say I didn’t extend the courtesy of an honorable withdrawal,” Lord Nara grinned, his fox-like eyes turned into thin lines.
The master of ceremonies nodded.
“The Rules are simple. The team that loses the coin toss has to choose its first fighter, and then the winning team chooses its opponent. Then, the roles change. Every team has two picks and two counter picks, for a total of four fighters,” the master of ceremonies explained, pulling a gold coin from the pocket.
I nodded. There was a level of strategy involved in the pairing phase. I could pair Firana against their weakest member to ensure a vast point difference. Or I could choose Zaon to keep things equalized. If I were Lord Nara, I would leave the Lv.7 Courier outside the selection. As fast as they were, they weren’t a combatant Class, but on the other hand, even non-combatants could develop useful masteries.
Zaon had a good matchup against the Soldier and the Warrior, as their combat skills were on the ‘basic’ side of the spectrum. However, the Archer, the Geomancer, and the Courier could present a problem to him. Wolf also had a bad matchup against the Archer and the Geomancer because he relied on solid and static positioning to use his muscles. Ilya and Firana had good matchups against the enemy team, but the enemy Geomancer worried me the most. She wasn’t just an Advanced Class, but a relative of Lord Nara.
“Here goes the coin,” the master of ceremonies said. He threw it high and caught it mid-flight.
Lord Nara kindly offered me the call.
“Heads,” I replied with a grin.
“Heads,” the master of ceremonies said, revealing the coin.
[Awareness] didn’t disappoint, but I made a mental note to keep it hidden from Ilya. She wouldn’t be on board with blatant cheating, even if we had the disadvantage. As cunning as Ilya was, strategy and cheats were completely different.
Lord Nara huffed. “Lino, you go first.”
The Soldier kid stepped forward. He was tall, probably a year older than my kids, but [Awareness] told me he was nervous. Soldier Class was painfully close to no class at all.
“Zaon, you go first. Is that okay with you?” I said, hoping the combination of Light-Footed and Lv.2 Longsword Mastery would match a Lv.9 Soldier with a couple of skills under his sleeve.
Zaon nodded.
It was my turn to choose and Lord Nara’s turn to counter-pick. “Ilya, you go second,” I said.
Ilya came forward, prompting a laugh from the rival Fighter.
“Do you want to fight the gnome, Arel?” Lord Nara asked.
“Yes, my lord. I’m confident I can get a ten-point lead over a Gnome Hunter,” Arel Nara replied.
A vein popped on Ilya’s forehead.
“Good. I chose my cousin Arel Nara for the second fight,” Lord Nara said.
Then, Lord Nara selected the Archer boy for the third fight, which put me in a tough spot. The Archer and the Geomancer were hard matchups for Wolf, and I lacked a fifth or sixth member to play around it. Nonetheless, the Archers weren’t known for their vast arsenal of skills.
“Wolf, you go against him,” I said.
Wolf nodded.
“Which leaves us with the last pair,” Lord Nara said with a mocking smile.
“Firana, you go last,” I said.
“Belya, my daughter, will be my last pick,” Lord Nara replied.
The dueling pairs were ready.
“So be it. The tournament's first match will be between Lino the Soldier and Zaon the Elf,” the master of ceremonies said, his voice suddenly amplified again as the Scribes took the System Shrine orb away. “Contestants, please go get your equipment. May the System bless you all.”

2024.05.14 23:25 sitonthewall Awake

Since 3:40 am
Still getting up early in case you want to talk to me
But I put my phone on silent before sleeping only to check in the morning no new notifications.
One day you'll answer me and I'll have all those overwhelming emotions for you. I need to not jump on you, back off and give my reply consideration. It's not like me I want you now and always.
Been drawing trying to digest my mind, nothing's helping there's too many hours this morning without you.
Starving myself and no coffee as I have a blood test. I'll walk down to the medical centre and have to wait twenty minutes before I take a ticket, exercise makes your prolactin high and I need it to come down.
The doctors want to put me on the maximum dose of the drugs I'm on, I'm concerned about it. They are jumping from 6 to 12mg. I think that's too high I'm stable.
Why do I have to be alone? Been chain smoking trying to not eat. Hungry. For more than food. Why do you run from me? What did I do to cause you to be like this? Abandoned you multiple times. Feels like we are at the point of no return. I don't really understand it and you don't want to talk about it.
How do we make it better?
From the outside of love

2024.05.14 23:24 cue_the_strings Optimal inventory management with KiCad integration (Inventree, Ki-nTree, ...)

Hi everyone, I'd like to talk about a rather serious subject when integrating KiCad with inventory management tools like Inventree.
First, let me present the parts of the system.
One of such inventory tools is Inventree, there are other tools as well (Part-DB, PartKeepr). If you think some other tool works better, please suggest it. I'm not invested in Inventree, it just seeed like the most complete solution.
The point of such tools is to keep an inventory of components you're stocking, allowing you to add components to your stock when you buy them from the suppliers, and remove them when you build and sell your boards.
One of the functionalities is obviously exporting you BOMs from KiCad and importing them into Inventree (https://github.com/clj/kinventree-bom) as parts (which can be organized into larger parts, like whole products), so you can track how many you can build with the current stock, order new stock to build x parts, etc.
The rest of the process is, of course, obtaining schematic symbols and footprints (drawing or generating them as last resort), putting them into your local lib along with all the pre-requisite data that allows Inventree to identify them on BOM import, and allows you to actually draw the schematics and lay out the PCBs. I'm guessing everybody likes building their little library of components and reusing them in their designs if possible, and it also makes sense from the inventory standpoint.
Ki-nTree (which I contributed to) handles a part of that process, but not in a very optimal way for non-trivial (non-C/L) components. To obtain symbols and footprints of non-trivial parts (non-C/L), you can use SnapEDA, UltraLibrarian, with impartGui doing the actual library import.
Now, the issues
Not all kinds of parts are treated the same: there are jellybean parts, semi-jellybean parts and proprietary parts, and I treat each group differently (as do many other users). When using Ki-nTree for import, it gives custom generated names for all of them, but that's not optimal:
Now, Inventree does support the distinction: Part (100n 5% 10VDC X7R cap in 0603) can have multiple Manufacturer parts (Kyocera 0603ZC104JAT4A, Vishay VJ0603Y104JXQCW1BC, ...), which can have multiple suppliers (LCSC, Mouser, ...). It then makes sense to call that part something like CAP-CER-100n-T5-10VDC-X7R-SMD0603, and use it like that in both KiCad, and in Inventree. The TL072 can be called IC-TL072-SO8, and can also have multiple manufacturer parts. STM32F405RG can be IC-STM32F405RG-LQFP64. I could create all of these things by myself in Inventree, then add them to KiCad in my own library, but it's so much work. Not to mention adding manufacturer parts from the suppliers, a nightmare. Something like Ki-nTree would work if it could support naming like this, but currently it really doesn't.
What's also important on the KiCad side is that the part needs some sort of Inventree-identification field (so that Inventree can import the BOM), and it needs its Datasheet field to be populated; a link to the Inventree part would be nice. It'd be awesome if Ki-nTree or Inventree could get the datasheet and save them into the parts as attachments, and then use that link instead of the online link for the KiCad part. Ki-nTree already gets images from the providers. I could start modifying Ki-nTree to do this all, or writing a from-scratch little CLI solution, but I'd love to know if someone else does this in some smarter and already existing way.
There's this inventree_kicad Inventree plugin which allows you to use the HTTP lib interface in KiCAD, but I'm not sure how that fits in w/ this whole model.
Questions
Are my assumptions here wrong? Is there a more sensible workflow?
If this workflow does make sense, are there tools facilitating it that I don't know of? How do you do it?
Another part that I didn't mention is updating the supplier pricing in Inventree: how do you update prices?

Help me design our new handling system so my husband thinks I'm a genius.
Please see my absolutely not to scale drawing for reference. We need a new crush to replace the basic head locking gate that we have at the end of the chute currently. I think we should do a complete overhaul while we're at it.
This is our current set up. It is inside in the corner of our cattle shed. The system was designed with smaller animals in mind and isn't really suitable for the larger animals we keep these days. We keep a mixed herd of suckler cows and run a limousin stock bull.
The main issue we have aside from the chute being too narrow, is the way the entrance into the crush is directly in the corner of that pen. The cattle tend to run around in circles in the pen and it's hard to get one of them to be brave enough to lead the rest on through. I know cattle tend to move better on a curve, but how could we implement that using the space we have?
Would be keen to see other people's handling facilities that are set up in a corner such as ours.

Petition for new ruling: if your triggers loop over and run out the timer too frequently on multiple turns, the game auto-concedes the one with the triggers.
I'm really sick of these guys. i was waiting for them to draw out their deck, or time out their actions so I could go full in attack, then the game auto-conceded ME! it wasn't even my turn! why am I being punished for an opponent who is taking up all the time?! talk about bad sportsmanship.
also, why isn't there an in-game "sportsmanship" rating system? you'd think it would fit really well here

~ General Recommendations (All Consoles) For Anyone Who Can't Decide ~

First off, I won't recommend big or famous games like Final Fantasy or Persona, this is more for lesser know, hidden gems, or just games where it's hard to find someone talking about them.

[Valkyria Chronicles]

[Valkyria Chronicles 4]

This one is really hard to explain through words alone, but just in case, the VC series is a World War 2 military setting story, where you act as the lead of a squad and take mission to drive back the enemy. The story is drama heavy and the gameplay is tactical turn-based, but it's mixed with real-time third person shooter.
You can also make your own army by recruiting different types of solders, training them and upgrading their gear. From rifles to tanks, this is a game you have to experience to understand.

[Fuga: Melodies of Steel 1 & 2]

Great game, great art style, and really well made and balanced turn-based combat. That alone is enough to get the game. Then you add the time-management part of the game, where you spend time upgrading the different tank rooms, cooking, exploring ruins, spending time to bond with other characters, and so on. It's also great if you want a game that you can play for an hour or 2 and then put down for later. As the game is played through stages, and once you're done with a stage, you get an intermission to do what you want and come back to it later.
It's not a long game (compared to the usual JRPG), as you mentioned, it's about 20 hours. Story-wise I think it was a bit too short. Gameplay wise it was great fit, because it didn't outstay it's welcome, and it ends when you feel you have mastered the gameplay and want to face the final challenge.
The story is good, but isn't the focus. Gameplay is the main focus. In fact you'll feel that a lot of context isn't told in the story, but instead left for you to either read about in the in-game wiki or just figure out through obvious clues in the story.
There is a big mechanic that this meant to put a lot of pressure on your playthrough (don't worry about it being spoiled because it's literally explained in the first hour of the game). The thing is though, if you have experience in JRPGs or just play in a really well thought out and relaxed manner, then that mechanic might not be as big a deal as they make it seem to be. Yet it's still fun nonetheless.
Fuga 2 is even better. It fixes a lot of the minor issues the first game had, and what's really great, is it improved the "big pressure" mechanic I talked about, and now it actually is a big deal. Then add to that so much little new mechanics added that just makes for a much more fun and challenging game. The 2nd game also continues the same story.

[Ni no Kuni] Series

If you're looking for that great Isekai fantasy adventure feel, then these two games are where it's at. Fantastic visuals and great music, coupled with a great art style, a combo that is perfect for a chill and relaxed gaming experience. Especially when talking about the first game, with the help ofStudio Ghibli, they managed to make a truly whimsical world with that Studio Ghibli classic touch.
- Important Note: The games aren't connected story-wise, so you can start with any of them -

[Wrath of the White Witch]

For a the best fantasy adventure feel, while the combat is a hit or miss depending on your taste, don't let that stop you from actually diving into a true fairy tale world, this is the one with the better story in my opinion, so if you want more story than game, this is for you. Still it has a good share of gameplay, from raising and collecting Pokemon-like monsters, to learning and using different spells, not just in combat but for the overworld too.

[Ni no Kuni™ II: Revenant Kingdom]

This one focuses more on gameplay, with a Kingdom builder, Army battles, Heavy loot focus, and even character collector, this is the one to go with if you want more game than story. Still has the great music and he fantastical art style and setting. Add to that a lot of side activities like beating rare monsters, collecting cute creatures to help you in battle, and even going around the world to gather people to help you build your kingdom. You'll never be short on things to do.
Finally, both of them have beautifully draw world that is just a pleasure to walkthrough, made even better with the amazing orchestral soundtrack.

[Star Ocean The Second Story R]

The original PS1 game was already an amazing JRPG and a classic. But this remake takes it to go even further beyond SSJ3. It should be the standard on how to make a faithful remake on of a classic title.
I don't want to overhype it more than I already did. So to keep this short, this remake does so much:
  • All major story events are now fully voice acted. This includes a lot of the private actions too.
  • Fully redone and better translation of the game.
  • New Character to recruit to the party.
  • New Private Actions and 13 new Endings.
  • New character portraits, not just for the main cast, but also for many other characters.
  • A complete rework for the battle system to be up to modern standards.
  • So many QoL features:
    • Auto-saving
    • Fast-forward cut-scenes or skip them.
    • Text log
    • All difficulties can be accessed from the start
    • Fast travel
    • 3 different voice dubbing options to choose from (New English, Original Japanese, New Japanese)
    • Your choice of different art styles
    • Choose between original OST and new rearranged OST.
    • No random battles anymore, as enemies can be seen and avoided
And believe me when I say I still haven't touched half of the amazing work that has gone into this remake.

[Sword and Fairy 7: Together Forever]

They did a great job with the presentation of the game. Great voice acting (Chinese), great graphics, amazing music, and an impressive attention to details of the world and it's lore, especially the engineering of the buildings and their decor. Then you have the really beautiful design of each piece of gear, and even just normal attire of each NPC and the disciples of each sect or soldiers of each of the different of each plane (gods, humans, demons).
Then we go to how great looking the monsters and local flora and fauna of each realm. You can feel the intense work that has gone into making and animating each of them. It really is a joy to watch them, as much as it is to watch each environment you see them in. There really isn't enough time to talk about how good the presentation is.
As for the story. First off, I am not an expert in Chinese novels mythology, but I am a big fan of Xianxia and Wuxia novels. So when I say that the story is...good but nothing great, I am saying this as more than just a JRPG fan, but also someone who is very into this type of world and Chinese martial arts fantasy setting. it's nothing that will stick in your mind, apart from the events that take place in some of the beautiful set pieces in the game, or the cut-scenes with beautiful action cheoragphy.
The gameplay is also about average. The side-quests are fun and are worth doing if nothing more than for learning more about the lore and the world. But the actual battles and action gameplay isn't as good as the best ones out there, but it's not bad. I have ran into some bugs, some small, some big, but that was when the game just came out, and it did receive a lot of patches since then. You can tell that they aimed to make a huge triple A production, but didn't have the time or manpower to test a game of this size. It's still fun to play and experience, but the level of gameplay is nowhere near the level of the presentation that the game gives the impression of having just from watching the gameplay or trailers.
If you enjoy walking through magical and fantastic looking JRPG worlds, or if you enjoy Xianxia/Wuxia fiction, then this is an easy choice. Hell even if you don't, it's still worth a go at this price.

[Blue Dragon] & [Lost Odyssey]

These two are classic titles that will probably won't be ported to or remade to modern consoles. That's why this might be the last way you'll ever get to experience 2 classic titles of the genre. Lost Odyssey has great story writing and unique character settings, and Blue Dragon has great exploration and a really fun character class customization system, and one hell of a boss theme.

[Monster Sanctuary]

This is a solid game, everything in is polished and balanced to make sure you are having fun collecting new monsters and customizing your team through evolution/skill trees/gear and making the best in-sync party you can. I only wish it was longer, it's not short by any means, but it's not long either. I would say depending on if you're trying to "catch them all" and explore everything and fight all bosses, this could easily be a 30+ hours game, but if you focus on the story, then it's about 20 to 30 hours. Now even longer with the 2 new free DLC expansion added.
Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining that it's short, but that I was having so much fun, that I wish it didn't end.

As always, please do add your own recommendations, and let me know if there is mistake or if something was missing, and have a nice day.

2024.05.14 22:47 Sarseaweed It’s 1:30pm and we’ve already had 7 feeds today.

Yesterday I recorded 13 feeds but didn’t count anything that was under 5mins but there were plenty of those.
Could this be the 6 week growth spurt a bit early? LO is 5 weeks and 2 days and is basically attached to my boob since yesterday. Pretty sure he’s getting enough since I do pump as well and I got 4oz off one boob with barely any suction in 15mins as it’s one of those hand free pumps but the battery was low. All his feeds have been over 15mins.
Did anyone go through this? I was reading the 4 month cluster feeding was the worst but this one is far worse. Yesterday he fed for an hour (was basically attached the entire time but wasn’t going hard the entire time) and then was hungry 15mins later haha
He still has been sleeping one 4 hour stretch overnight thank goodness because I would lose my mind if he wasn’t.
I also changed my first only pee diaper, I do probably about 75% of the diaper changes and this was the first one where there hasn’t been a bit of poop, his digestive system might be maturing? I obviously have a ton of questions for his 6 week check up.
And he wants to go for number 8 right now from the sounds of it!

2024.05.14 22:42 GiganticGirlEnjoyer Fumoverse:Fumo Size Class (True Final Version)

Quectofumos:1 quectometer-1 rontometer:The smallest class of fumo, essentially being subatomic in size.
Rontofumos:1 rontometer-1 yoctometer:Again,extremely small subatomic fumos.
Yoctofumos:1 yoctometer-1 zeptometer These fumos go in size from a neutrino in scale to around a preon in scale.
Zeptofumos:1 zeptometer-1 attometer. These fumos are the size of quarks, with the largest ones being the size of a electron.
Attofumos:1 attometer-1 femtometer. These fumos occasionally make up the parts of atoms, the largest being the size of neutrons and higgs bosons.
Femtofumos:1 femtometer-1 picometer. These fumos are the size of protons, with larger ones being the size of atomic nuclei.
Picofumos:1 picometer-1 nanometer. These fumos are the size of atoms. The largest ones are the size of molecules.
Nanofumos:1 nanometer-1 micrometer. These fumos range from the size of viruses to the size of a Lysosome.
Microfumos:1 micrometer-1 millimiter. Extremely small fumos that range in size from a mitochondrion to a flea.
Millifumos:1 millimeter-1 cm. Quite small fumos, ranging from the size of a flea to the size of a coffee bean.
Centifumos:1 cm-2 cm. These fumos are considered related to fumlets, however they are smller than those fumos.
Decifumos:2 cm-4 cm These fumos are also known as fumlets, and have evolved to be pests of human houses.
Normal - a normal fumo. Typically about 20cm tall sitting. Nendroid ones are taller and posable.
Mannaka Fumos:Twice as large as normal fumos, being around 40cm.
Dekafumo - a giant fumo. 70cm tall and incredibly expensive. "Deka" comes from the Japanese "dekai", meaning huge.
Hectofumo - This is when they start getting really big. Around 140-200 cm.
Kilofumo:2.1 m ~ 3.7 m Even bigger than hectofumos,i'm pretty sure that the Giant Yuyuko Fumo goes here.
Megafumo: 3.7 m ~ 1 Dm (12 ft ~ 32.8 ft in freedom units) This fumo would be the size of a small house, anywhere from one to three stories tall. REALLY soft...
Gigafumo:1 Dm ~ 1 Hm (32.8 ft ~ 328 ft in freedom units) this fumo would be the size of larger buildings, but not skyscrapers. A moving object of this size would definitely catch the attention of global satellite systems.
Terafumo:1 Hm ~ 1 Km (328 ft ~ 3280 ft in freedom units) This category is when a fumo begins to draw attention from a distance; ranging from the size of small skyscrapers to small mountains, she would be visible from a good ways away.
Petafumo:1 Km ~ 1 Mm (3280 ft ~ 621 miles in freedom units) This is the point at which a fumo not only outgrows mountains, but also the earth's atmosphere; Thankfully they don't need oxygen since they are plushies. This one would be large enough to cause a apocalyptic scenario.
Exafumo:1 Mm ~ 1 Gm (621 miles ~ 621,371 miles in freedom units) At this point, a fumo crosses the threshold of earth itself; ranging from the size of a medium island to the size of the Earth itself, to nearly the size of the sun, these fumos are large enough to create their own field of gravity...
Zettafumo: 1 Gm ~ 1 Tm (621,371 miles ~ 6.68 AU in freedom units) A fumo of this size ranges anywhere from the size of the sun, to being large enough to stand on the Sun and reach beyond Jupiter. REALLY beeg...
Yottafumo:1 Tm ~ 1 Pm (6.68 AU ~ 6685 AU in freedom units) A fumo of this size can easily surpass the size of the solar system, and nears one tenth of a light year in height.
Ronnafumo:1 Pm ~ 1 Em (6685 AU ~ 108 ly) A fumo in this category can bridge the gap between stars with ease, and would likely outshine any nearby stars.
Quettafumo:1 Em ~ 1 Zm (108 ly ~ 105,702 ly) THE largest class of fumo. A fumo of this size would be easily visible to anyone that could see the Milky Way galaxy; as a matter of fact, the upper limit of this category would make a fumo's height about the length of the Milky Way.
No........ Wait...... We can go EVEN! FURTHER! BEYOND!
Omegafumos: 1 Zm ~ 1 Ym (105,702 ly ~ 105,702,341 ly)
A fumo of this size can bridge galaxies, much like how a Ronnafumo would bridge stars. The gravitational field created by such a being would be so great, that nearby galaxies would be crushed by her mere presence.
Omnifumos: 1 Ym ~ 1000 Ym (105,702,341 ly ~ 1.05702341*10^11 ly)
The known universe is estimated to be 2*10^10 ly wide; thus, this is the ideal category for a universe-sized fumo. The TRUE,FINAL largest class of fumo.

2024.05.14 22:14 HattoriAs I'm playing every Final Fantasy game, here's my ranking

This list is not made to be a "Best games" or something like that, it is my opinion about how much I enjoyed each game.
Also, the way I play the games to make the list is: I play it once without searching for anything in the internet to feel it as a genuine first experience, then I play it again with a guide to do everything the game offers, normally the review is based on the first playthrough since it is my own impression of the game, but sometimes the second one becomes relevant, for good or bad reasons.
These are all the games that I have access to, my computer can't run 14 and 15, I had some problems running 13-2 and 13-3 so I didn't play 'em, and I don't have enough time to play 11 yet.
Anyway, here's my list:
14- Final Fantasy 13 (Steam)
This game has beautiful graphics... And that's the only good thing I have to say about it. It's just a bunch of hallways the whole time, the part that it should open up is 20+ hours already in game and it is just one big area with 5 or 6 hallways. The battle system is boring and the AI is just dumb, the characters are not interesting and the game fails to tell you it's story and almost forces you to read Data Logs to be able to understand it.
13- Final Fantasy 10-2 (Steam)
I think this game just relies too much on being the successor of FFX, the story is way too simple, the final boss didn't make me fear it like Sin did, it was said that he could destroy the whole world, but nothing is shown, he's just sleeping through most of the game, and when he wakes up, YRP destroy him without any difficulty.
My second playthrough to 100% was pretty boring, the amount of little things you have to do in a specific order because if you don't do one little thing in chapter 1, you have to restart it, because you're not getting 100%, the game is not that bad, but i haven't enjoyed it that much.
12- Final Fantasy 1 (PSP)
Of course the first game is really important for the franchise and for the whole gaming industry, and it's so old that it is indeed too simple. I'm not saying it is a bad game, but of all the ones I've played, it is one of the games that gave me the less fun of all.
11- Final Fantasy 3 (DS)
This game looks like a better version of FF1, I mean, it's pretty much the same, the party is together and bam, they are destined to save the world, the story is not that great, Xande wasn't as menacing as he should, I think that if he appeared more during the game, I could have respected him more than just seeing him once and proceed to beat the s* out of him. Cloud of Darkness was there just to be the final challenge as "the greatest menace the world has ever seen"
10- Final Fantasy 2 (PSP)
This game is actually pretty good, some reviews I saw before playing it said that the leveling system was bad and the story wasn't good, but I liked it, it made sense that if a character fights using a sword it will get better with it as the time goes on, of course this means that by the end of the game I couldn't change the "jobs" of my characters, but I didn't see this as a problem at all. Also, I like this game's story, it's not as epic as the next games (of course, it is pretty old) but I like the way they made the villain be someone I should fear, someone that is really evil and made me want to stop him.
9- Final Fantasy 8 (Steam)
Old Review: The story is good. That's it. The draw system made me stop playing this game 3x when I was younger, and almost made me do it again this time, I know it is supposed to be challenging to get all the magic so you can assemble them to your stats, but at some times I was so tired of having to battle the same enemies for long periods of time just to get 100 of their magics that I had to use the save editor to get 100 of the ones I already had. It's not a bad game, really, I was immersed in the story as it kept getting bigger and bigger, but this little detail made me enjoy the game way less than I think i should.
New review: So, after some discussion in the other posts, I gave FF8 another chance, and the game is good, really, this time I've used Triple Triad as I should, making the magic gathering waaay easier, and then I proceeded to enjoy the game more than the last time.
With this being said, FF8 is a good game and i had some fun playing it, but i will not change its position on my ranking, since all the ones above him were more appealing to me in their own ways.
9- Final Fantasy 16 (PS5)
The story is pretty good and I like the characters, I'm not the greatest fan of action RPGs, but the Variety of builds I could make with different Eikons got me. There's not much I can say about this one, the game is nowhere as linear as FF13, but it also ain't open as FF15. There are some beautiful fights, but I didn't feel any challenge during my gameplay, not even in Final Fantasy Mode. Also, there is a point near the end of the game that they just throw a lot of sidequests in your face, but overall is a good game.
8- Final Fantasy 4 (PSP)
This is the first Final Fantasy game that I played in my life, and it is really good, the story is nice, the characters are cool and having that much charisma on my party after playing FF3 made me enjoy this SO much that I can play it many more times and still enjoy just like the first time. Of course it have its problems, some characters get really weak if compared to others and the difficulty is pretty low, but overall, a really cool game.
7- Final Fantasy 12 (Steam)
This is the second Final Fantasy game I played and the first I beat when i was younger, it has its problems (like every other) but the characters have charisma (Not you, Vaan, shut up), the story is ok and the Gambit System made my eyes shine when I saw it for the first time. The hunts where so challenging for me back in that day that i remember myself just breaking my head doing good Gambits to each member of my party (of course when I played it again it wasn't that hard but ok), this is the game that made me love this series and JRPGs, and it's pretty sad for me to leave it this down on the list, but I have to be honest when I say that the next ones made me enjoy more the journey and are simply better games.
6- Final Fantasy 5 (Steam)
This one is the perfection of what Square began on FF1 and then evolved at FF3, the job system is really good, the variety of parties you can make is awesome and the story made me want to chase Exdeath so bad that I was almost entering the PC to beat him with my own hands. The characters are charismatic and Gilgamesh made me laugh every time he appeared. The game is not the most complex one, but it is really good.
5- Final Fantasy Tactics (Mobile)
The only one I played that is not from the main franchise, but the story is so good, the characters seem so alive, Ramza and Delita really make you feel what they are feeling, the jobs system is pretty certainly the best I've seen until now and the gameplay got me since the very first battle. If you've never played FFTactics, do it right now, it is one of the best games I've ever played and certainly deserves this position on my opinion, maybe even higher when I play it again on the future.
4- Final Fantasy 7 (PS1)
I think I don't have to say very much about this one, it was for a very long time my favorite game, the story is so good, the characters are perfect, Sephiroth made me fear him every time he was on the screen, just as he made Cloud sweat by hearing his name, the parties you can make are so diverse, you can play it with many different comps and you will still enjoy it and not be stuck anywhere because they're all acceptable, I'm not gonna make an analysis of every aspect of the game, but this one is REALLY worth playing, even if you're not much of a FF fan.
3- Final Fantasy 9 (Steam)
This game is so good I have difficulty finding words to describe it, Zidane is a great main character (He is a classic hero, of course, but his plot made me enjoy his character a lot more than I already did), Garnet had so much drama around her, Vivi is so precious, wish I could protect him from everything forever. The story is really good, the way it scales 'til the end made me not want to stop playing it, Kuja is a wonderful villain, he was not only the big bad that should be defeated because he wants to destroy the world, he was a villain, a really good villain that I wanted to defeat, I wanted to stop him as much as the characters, FF9 is amazing.
2- Final Fantasy 6 (GBA)
FF6 is a wonderful game in every aspect, its story got me so much feelings, Kefka is my favourite villain from the franchise, Terra, Locke, Celes, Edgar, all of the characters made me care about them, made me want to see how they would react to everything that was happening through the whole time, the side stories after they get separated almost made me cry, Celes is a wonderful character in every aspect, this game was my favourite until I played the Top 1, but it still is one of the games I've enjoyed the most in my entire life.
1- Final Fantasy 10 (Steam)
This is a game that my brother always told me to play, and when I did, I understood why he was telling me to do so. The battle system is great, being able to switch your characters in the middle of the battle is awesome, the sphere grid, when I first saw, i thought it would be overly complicated, but it isn't, the trials to get Aeons are pretty good, not that hard but I understand why, all the characters are so charismatic, I love all of them. And the story... Final Fantasy 10 made tears fill my eyes while I was playing it, Tidus' plot is beautiful, Yuna as well, every character had their own little arc and I enjoyed all of them, this game is the one that surpassed FF6 for me, and I was thinking that it wasn't possible since I love FF6 so much, but FF10 is wonderful in every aspect and is the game that I enjoyed the most.
