TL;DR: A mostly-new viewer sharing her thoughts on S16, and hoping to continue to do so with the next seasons.

It has been… almost 1.5 years since the last time I watched Survivor. I can't believe it has been so long – the longest break I ever had between seasons since I first started this project (in 2020?? Woah). It has been so long, that even seeing James and Amanda felt nostalgic for me, even though they were fresh out from last season, lol. Another advantage – if I knew anything about this season before, I 100% forgot about it. Got to experience it as cleanly as one could – I literally knew nothing about who the winner or what the elimination order was. Let's get to it!
The game: not gonna lie, I was a little bit wary of the main gimmick of fans vs. favorites. I thought about how unfair it was, not just experience wise but also because the fans are probably just gonna be starstruck and unable to play against their faves. Luckily, I was wrong. It was actually way more balanced than I expected it to be. Sure, the faves had better shelter and better food and better everything, but I feel like this is a common situation in survivor, that one tribe is better off than the other, so that was okay.
Having 2 medical evacuations and 1 quit was wild. I feel like Survivor was always dangerous, so it should actually be surprising that something like that didn't happen until now. I really felt bad for Penner and James, hopefully they get to play again.
Having two people going to exile island each time in the pre-merge was an interesting choice, but nothing really interesting came out of it.
The end game though… oh boy. I actually thought that having 3 people leave would help production, because they had 20 people over 39 days. But ofc they were prepared and didn't like the quits, which is probably why we got the weird 8 jurors-2 finalist thing. I am not against the concept as a concept, but it did feel like a low blow that the contestants didn't know about it. And also as I said I think it should have been final 3 as always but they had to adjust.
So yeah let's talk about that FTC. I once again came in rooting for Amanda, and once again saw how bad at FTCs she is. Girl, please… at first I was a bit surprised that she lost, I felt like Parv had way more enemies in the jury. But then I read here in the subreddit about the full content of Eliza's question that we saw nothing from, and well… it made more sense. (Btw thank you Eliza for kind of bringing in fallen comrades, it was the best. Ah, I missed Eliza and I'm so glad she was in this season!)
So Amanda lost again, and Parv won, and I guess now I understand what's the big buzz around her that I didn't get when I watched cook islands, lol. Might as well mention the blindside since this was all Jeff could think of. Idk personally I'm not too impressed with blindsides, like sure yeah it's a cool move but it's way less drama inducing than when the person actually knows they are going to go lol. Tbh I was so mad that Ozzy got rid of Ami and Eliza that I was happy he got blindsided, lol.
The challenges and set: I know I am nearing the time when the set doesn't matter, but I thought I had a few more seasons of grace, especially after how amazing China was. I guess I was wrong. Well, the set in general was very lacking and most of the challenges were super generic, but the huge money wheel was cool, as was that village visit. I'll take what I can get.
But when it comes to actual entertainment the challenges were gold. I think aside from that gun shooting one which was kinda boring, the others were fantastic. A challenge is what gave birth to the iconic Joel-Chet moment, Amanda showed once again that she is a challenge beast that can't win the actual game, we saw Ozzy being defeated by a fan etc etc. Also the one with the cage going underwater is definitely a favorite of mine that I will be happy to see again no matter what season.
The challenge with the survivor trivia questions felt kind of rigged though, lol. Of course Erik will win that one… or even just a fan in general. That wheel with the logos on it was super cool, though!
The cast: in this kind of season, this should be the core, right? Well, I don't think it was the strongest cast ever but they did very well. From the favorites, the only ones I was super excited about were Ami and Eliza (where are my Vanuatu comrades at?), and as I said earlier I was really bummed when they were voted out. I also liked seeing James, Amanda and Yau Man back. The rest I wasn't big about but it's basically because I almost never ended up liking the big names players, and the big names players are the ones that get to return, so… lol.
Anyway, the fans had some highlights too, of course. I'd say mainly the Tracy-Chet-Kathy trio, the Natalise-Alexis duo the Erik and James the dummies. Each group had their own fun little storyline that also got woven brilliantly with the favorites, so it was definitely enjoyable to follow. I just feel like it was… more story driven than character driven, if it makes sense?
Though the small character moments we did get were gold. Jason and the f'ing stick, Erik giving up the necklace, Natalie opening up out of nowhere as an evil witch… over at the favorite side I actually feel it was more lacking – maybe it was because I already knew all of them before, I'm not sure. But I generally felt like their personality traits shone less, maybe aside from Parv who now I can realize got edited in a way she would be accepted as a winner (oh btw I'm definitely fine with her winning). I guess Cirie also got some of her usual Cirie-style confessionals, but she also got a lot of gameplay ones so yeah.
I wasn't attached to anyone personally so that's probably why I was slightly less invested, even though I enjoyed everyone a lot.
I read somewhere in the subreddit that this season was supposed to be AS2, but they didn't have enough big players to bring so they changed to fans vs. favorites. I think it was a good decision overall if I look at it objectively, but personally there are quite a few "smaller" players that I would have loved to see again lol.
Oh and I forgot to mention it earlier but I guess it also matches this category – once again I hated how they changed the opening for every ep and removed voted out people. Stop it. Stop doing it. Just put the full opening every time, it's not so hard!
And that's it for FvF! I might be a little rusty in summarizing my thoughts, but I'm sure I'll get right on track for the next season. THE NEXT SEASON!!! GABON!!!
Haha I might as well mention again that Gabon was actually kind of the only season I watched fully before, around the time it aired (maybe a little bit later because I watched it on cable TV in my country, and I'm sure we weren't 100% caught up, but the timeline match). I don't remember it in full details obviously but I do remember quite a lot – and I'm excited to see if it holds up and how much nostalgia I have for it lol. I'm definitely excited to see Sugar again!

 | Good morning everyone, AcA here and I have a brief (haha) update for you this morning. I felt it was pressing to give everyone an idea of what I am seeing and feeling headed into the next epoch of space weather. What a ride AR3663/3664 were? Long before most of you showed up for the biggest storm in decades, AR3663 was trying to get there, only to be usurped by AR3664 stealing the show. Well AR3664 has now departed, and the sunspot situation is complex, but not as intense as before it left. There are certainly more spots and active regions, but we are missing one with significant complexity and size like AR3664. submitted by ArmChairAnalyst86 to SolarMax [link] [comments] Something wild just happened. Something that has happened numerous times since I have started this. Call it stupid, tell me I am ate up, call it woo woo, I don't care. I don't call it anything, I juste note its occurence. As I am writing this brief little snippet, X-Ray spikes, and topped out at X2.99. For the last 10 days, when I have seen magnitudes like that, I automatically go to AR3664, or went to I should say, but AR3664 is gone...so what AR is responsible? I can barely see the leading edge of the plage, but it must be respectable. That is the beauty. Nobody knows. It is not visible and as a result has not received a numeral yet and we have zero real idea of what it looks like. However, we can extract 3 key details from this information.
Buckle up folks. Now hopefully you have got the drift. There is no certainty here. I think many people are forgetting one key fact about this game. Its comprised of two words. Space & Weather. Space suggests its distant, massive, and on scales far bigger than a human. Weather suggests its an interconnected and dynamic system of more variables than we can track or understand. Our brightest minds, best models, and best computers, cannot tell you with any high degree of certainty whether it will storm 5-7 days from now, maybe not even rain. If that is the bar for terrestrial weather, than what is it for space weather? I give you my take. I give you my analysis. I hope I am right, and alot of you are here because I have had a pretty good track record so far. Do not think for one second that I don't know that track record could fall apart tomorrow. I need you to understand that. Internally though? That is a different story. My confidence is rising. My perception broadening and my understanding increasing. The beauty of space weather currently, is at some point you have to make a gut call. You read the same data as everyone else, and you make your prediction. The finer brush strokes don't always come out perfect, but the big picture is definitely coherent at this point. OFFICIAL FORECAST - SUN https://preview.redd.it/9bja58vvvl0d1.png?width=414&format=png&auto=webp&s=9bc0bf36701972c3c52f5e74e004db2bc937e34b I expect a brief lull in activity affecting earth. Flaring may remain slightly elevated but we cannot escape the fact that AR3664 is out of the mix. The other groups are growing, but they are not growing exceptionally fast. That could change and we will keep close eyes on active regions. Here is a link to all SDO imagery with a few pointers AIA 131 Teal - best for capturing the flash of flares. AIA 171 Gold - best for capturing magnetic connections, overall activity, post arcade loops AIA 211 Purple - best for capturing eruptivity during flares and dimming AIA 193 Bronze - good for coronal holes esp, but a blend of 171 and 211 showing activity and a glimpse of eruptivity AIA 304 Red - best for plasma filaments and prominences and eruptivity The others are great too and have various specialities but the primary ones are above. If existing active regions do intensify, the forecast will change. We cannot assume they will, although I think they will. The sun is active overall and is able to generate big flares from any location or sunspot group. Even though the existing are not huge gashes like AR3664, AR3664 had humble beginnings too. Even though the spots on the disk are compact, they are fairly intense. I believe the official forecast reflects this. Even with AR3664 off the disk and no longer listed, the M-Class chances are 75% (too low) and the X-Class chances are 40% (I agree). They are seeing the same thing. OFFICIAL FORECAST -EARTH WSA-ENLIL shows an atypical setup. There are some small CMEs in the pipe and we are passing through a solar wind enhancement. Not sure where it came from but the parker spiral action is carrying it to and through us. Nothing big out there right now though. CME production remains elevated, including several potential full and partial halo, but currently nothing substantial aimed directly at us. DONKI shows a minor impact in the coming days with max Kp3. Our star has made its most prolific run yet over the past few weeks. Both generating massive geomagnetic storms on earth and massive flares. Yes, SC23 was more intense in every facet, but SC25 is not over. It has already far exceeded SC24 though and its not close. Get this little fact. In SC24 there were approximately 48 X-Class flares in the entire cycle which spanned from 2008-2019. In the past 2 weeks have seen more than 25% of that total. In 2 weeks, we got 25% of the way to the entire total of the previous 11 year cycle. And that does not even count the years and months prior of SC25, just the last 2 weeks. I think Mr McIntosh can take a victory lap. He went against the grain, called this a big cycle in direct opposition to NOAA on the basis of his own theory. Bravo! Its not done. We are in solar maximum and that is clear, but what is not clear is just how max this max will be? Nobody can predict the future or what will happen tomorrow on the sun, but I can say that there has NEVER been a better time in all of our recorded civilization to get acquainted with and understand space weather. Not only because of the activity level, the tools available to everyone for free, but because we must be on watch. We are the watchers. If you are here, you know what is up. The rest of the world does not. They do not understand space weather and the think its impossible to do so. Too complicated. Well that is where you come in. Learn it. Understand it. Teach it. Its going to matter in the coming decades, and I would bet everything I own on that. Does that mean CE 2.0? Hell no. Don't immediate jump to extremes, but here is the simple facts. We hit extreme storm levels last weekend from not so extreme storms. It did not harm anything. No widespread damage, just some localized stuff. A transformer blew up in a city about 50 miles from me overnight. Don't see that often. Could it be coincidence it occurred as our earth is trying to process all of the excess energy and current coursing through it? Sure it could be, but I am paying attention. Seismic activity is sharply rising the past few days, with significant attention paid to the south pacific and the caribbean currently. Weather and cloud anomalies all over the place and in strange places. The link to cloud anomalies shows iridiscent clouds usually spotted in polar regions only, yet these are in Vietnam. Many other places too. Are you paying attention? Coming Article Teaser and Open Letter I am going to touch on my article that is in the works just a little bit. A teaser if you will because I think it needs to be discussed right now, but when I release it, you will need no less than an hour to read it. It will be comprehensive and supported. I am shooting from the hip here, but I do so from an informed standpoint, the same standpoint I want you to arrive at. What does ALL of this mean? Should I be scared? Can I jump to conclusions about this? Stop it. One day at at time. We are not scientists here. Most of us have no degrees or letters behind our names. We come armed with logic and the powers of perception, ready to learn. We are in the observation stage. We are looking for signals, correlations, coincidences, anomalies, patterns, etc. We must all determine for ourselves the truth of the matter, with our own eyes, and it starts right here at solarmax. Now let me get something straight. I am very excited about aurora chances and the study of this field. I have no reason to believe we are in imminent danger. I have no reason to believe that we are in imminent danger tomorrow, or any other time. I recognize that like many forces of nature and the cosmos, that the sun does have the ability to make life pretty hard here, as well as makes all life possible. I give it the respect it deserves, but I do not give it fear or panic. I give it logic and rationality. Logic and rationality tells me that something is up with our planet, and I am not sure its so easily explained by the current narrative. I see man made climate change used far and wide to excuse every development from earthquakes, length of day glitches, changing earths rotation, etc and who am I to argue? I have no degrees as I said. I am just a self taught dude who likes space. But I would offer them a challenge. Find a way to attribute last weekends massive geomagnetic storm from some relatively low magnitude CMEs to climate change. Go ahead, I will wait. No one would argue that the CMEs from 2003 were stronger, yet the effects were nearly identical and anecdotally more intense. How did our Co2 do that? They will attribute it to starlink satellites or something else man made. ESA swarm mission will tell you that its only decreased 9% on average whatever the hell that means. How can that be, if its been weakening at absolutely positively no less than 5% per century on average with modern estimates much closer to 5% per DECADE. The average rate of loss is no longer reported and is a mystery and possibly a closely guarded secret. As a result, I have no numbers or figures I can give you that I can prove. I will offer you a challenge too though. Look around. Do you see a pattern? Do you see an acceleration of "things"? Everyone does. Cant deny it. Climate change is a good candidate for it, but we must factor last weekends geomagnetic storm in as anecdotal evidence that something could be changing, quickly. Its not proof. We could not go to a court of law and establish it as fact without refute. Some could say the CMEs combined in an unusual way and it somehow drastically magnified the overall energy content into a single wave. Maybe that is true. I cant refute it with data. But....we can watch for the next one. We will get another big storm? I dont know. But we will be watching. If we see another storm like last weekend from low end X-Class flares, that could change. Our argument could strengthen, but we must approach it scientifically and logically, even if we are not scientists. Immanuel Velikovsky said that the test of a theory should be the explanation that requires the least in the way of modification, qualifier, and assumption to arrive at a conclusion. Pardon my french, but fuck what the mainstream is telling you. I am not saying they are lying, but am I saying trust your eyes, your instincts. This is IN you. It is in us all. I am moved and touched by all of the posts, comments, questions, articles, and observations. Someone made an excellent observation overnight about the possible sympathetic nature of the flaring yesterday on direct opposite sides of the sun that I had made myself, but not brought to your attention. I thought maybe the timelapse just made it look sympathetic, but evidently others noticed too. That is what this is all about. Again, I am an armchair analyst. I make no bones about that. I have no qualifications that I could point to that says I know what I am talking about. When I say self taught, I do not just mean this subject. I am self taught in life. I barely graduated high school. I was essentially guaranteed graduation because my high school could not wait to get rid of me. If you are looking for good grammar, punctuation, syntax, etc you will not find it here and ultimately qualified or not, the results and predictions will pan out and prove it or they wont. Either way I will not lie to myself about it. I have been preparing for this for months and I did not know why I was preparing, or why I felt making this sub was so important when so many resources already exist. I am going to ride that wave, but I expect you all to keep me accountable. I am sorry this was longer than expected. I hope you can get the message and be an adult about it. I am not saying we are in trouble, but I am saying we need to be paying attention. If you want to freak out about it, I cant stop you. Arm yourself with knowledge, and you yourself will know, when or if it is time to freak out. Arm yourself with knowledge and you will not be swayed by twitter idiots and AI written articles which sensatonalize the topic and only give the worst case CE scenario because it sells. I realize now that its not practical to guide you through each event, that we will grow past that point, and as a result, you must teach yourself with the tools here and elsewhere. I am interested in using more make up, and I am confused about my undertone / color profile. I'm enclosing some selfies and pics (no makeup, just some sunscreen), all taken over the course of the last year in different countries submitted by GalacticThunderRogue to MakeupAddiction [link] [comments] I'm of western european descent, think something along the lines of Germany, Austria ... I am very pale but have super dark hair, that can shimmer in red undertones in the sun/summer. but it's mostly just dark. My skin is mostly pale, with some redness, and does bronze only a little bit. It's fairly sensitive to sun, I burn somewhat easily unless I apply sunscreen regularily (which I do). My eyes have a orange-ish core around the pupilles and are green-grey around. Silver looks much better on me than gold, especially on the ears, nose, but I can pull off a golden necklace too (see image), but it soon looks a bit tacky on me. My veines are blue-greenish... hard to tell really. I can wear many different colors... both muted colors like a kaki green, a wine red, look good. but also bright blues, turquoise, pinks... As of lipsticks, I *think* reds with a slight blue undertone might look better, but I am not 100 % sure. I just got myself a BB cream, and the lightest tone looked most natural by far! (the lightest shade of the one two free bb fluid) I feel like I don't fit into the classic categories, I think I combine both cool and warm aspects, and have a hard time choosing products as a result. Please help! Also I'd love to have some tips of makeup artists that do tutorials, that have a similar color profile as I! Though I've noticed this recently, its actually been said multiple times, perhaps even before 100YQ. Essentially, a new character has debuted, they will be one of the main villains of the Arc, they have done nothing, and yet... they're already a random. "Some random nobody has showed up and they're supposed to be fighting Wendy?" "The random who Jellal will be fighting..." and "How can this random be stronger than Natsu?" aren't all direct real examples, but are rather to illustrate what will happen.
For some, it seems to be absence of some elite team title before them. Without some name like the Seven Metals of Alchemy or the Eight Eternal Flames, this new character may not have the same level of stated hype as the Spriggan 12 or the Dark Dragon Slayer Knights (though "second in command" to a Dragon God doesn't seem to help either), even though not all Guilds use this structure.
For others, its Team Natsu's past victories. Because Natsu has beaten the Dragon Gods, even though its circumstantial, this Rebellious cultist (we haven't met them, hopefully someday, just an example) shouldn't be able to touch him by any means.
Now some might say "well Gold Owl didn't live up to the hype so..." but the thing is, this title of "some random" is ordained on characters who have barely been in the series for a minute. They haven't even had a chance to show all they can do and yet, are already some nobody random.
Many characters who debuted in the series were randoms. Did we know the "killing Mage" was Zeref in Chapter 200? I don't think so. And yes, he mentioned Natsu, but the most recent random mentioned Erza. My point is, some boy was randomly sitting on Tenrou. It gets said when the "some random" thing gets brought up, but many characters were "some random" at some point.
Ultimately, my point is, every Arc has a new set of main villains under the Arc big bad. That's the exact opposite of random. People are of course entitled to respond to them how they like. Just something weird I noticed.

TL/DR; A really terrible 9th grade bully keeps coming after me about my red hair, so I snitch on her, leading her to almost get suspended, and to get kicked out of her weekend grade trip.
At my school, there's this girl Kylie (Not her real name) who goes to my school. For a bit of context, I am in my 3rd year of high school, and life has been pretty great other than with Kylie. She is 2 years younger than me, but even though she is so young, nobody other than her close group of friends and people she hasn’t picked on like her. She has a close friend group of the “popular girls” in their grade, so she has a lot of influence on everyone else her age.
On to the actual story now. Kylie is really mean to a lot of people both older and younger than her. As for me, a couple of months ago, she started coming at me for my red hair. I have very bright red hair, and she will not stop with her attacks on my hair. At the beginning, I was friends with her because she was the friend of a friend, so I thought it was just a joke and that it would stop, or just be a one and done. Little did I know that that was only the beginning of the nightmare that every interaction I had with her would become.
She started out by joking about me looking like Ed Sheeran, or asking where I hid my pot of gold, which I originally found pretty funny, but eventually it worsened. At one point, we were in the middle of a talk about something completely unrelated to anything with hair when she suddenly told me the truth hurts, then screamed, “All gingers deserve to be exterminated!”, as loud as she could in front of everyone, then just continued as though nothing had happened.
This next part needs some more context. There is a park near our high school that she claims for herself and her friends on all fridays. She kicks out anyone who she has not specifically told they could go to the park. She doesn’t even do anything, just standing around gossiping with her friends. The thing is, I really like hanging out there for breaks, because of all the benches around the park. So on one particular friday, I sat down with my sketchbook and started drawing, minding my own business and not making a sound. Kylie and her friends walk over to me and try to tell me to go away. The following interaction went something like this;
Kylie: Excuse me, OP, but you need to leave. This is our day, so you can’t be here.
Me: Sorry, what? This is a public park, I don’t need to move anywhere. Besides, I’m just minding my business. Could you leave me alone please?
Kylie started getting all up in my face and put her hand on my shoulder before saying that I should just leave before they have to make me. Another piece of context; the shoulder she had just forcefully put her hand happened to be the shoulder of the arm I just had vaccinated that morning. I calmly told her to take her hand off my arm, before I removed it myself. I went back and took a seat on another bench and went back to drawing. After a couple of seconds, I heard someone approaching me, and I looked up to see Kylie, with her fist drawn, and then she punched me in the arm I had the injection in.
When I say that it hurt, it hurt so badly that I broke down in tears and started crying on the bench as Kylie scoffed at me, rolled her eyes, and told me to stop over-reacting. All her friends started laughing at me, as one of my close friends, the friend who had introduced me to her, approached to see what all the commotion was about. Kylie turned around and called my friend over. Gesturing to me, she told my friend, “Thank goodness you’re here. Can you take that thing,” pointing at me, “ away from us?”
After I heard what she said, still crying, I went over to her and told her not to call me it or that, and to please refer to me as OP, or my pronouns. After a while, she just kept calling me it, that, ginger, monster, creature, you name it. Anything she could think of to describe me other than my name or pronouns.
Now for my revenge. I told the principal and vice-principal at our school how Kylie had been bullying me and a bunch of other students, and they said they would talk to her. Afterwards, she came to me fuming and screamed at me that I had almost gotten her suspended and she got kicked out of our school's next big trip. She then told me that I was going to regret doing what I did.
After this, I started noticing that she was avoiding me and not talking to me. I thought that this would all finally be over, but about a week ago, I passed her in the hallway, and she screamed, and hid while saying ginger over and over again. I told my school counselor, but she just told me there was nothing she could do, and that since I was older than her, I should just stand up for myself and be the bigger person, but this is really affecting me and my school experience, and I have no idea what to do. My name is Arkanos, and I am a Phoenix of the Clan of Eternal Flames. Once, we roamed the Heavenly Realms, proud and immortal, our feathers ablaze with hues of orange and red, a stark contrast to my own blue and white flames. But that was before the betrayal.
The Dragons, Demons, and Angels, jealous of our power and fearful of our immortality, conspired against us. They ambushed our clan in a fiery battle that shook the very foundations of the heavens. In the end, we were outnumbered, outmatched, and outgunned. Defeat was inevitable.
As punishment for daring to challenge their authority, we were banished from the Heavenly Realms, cast out into the vast expanse of the cosmos. But the punishment didn't end there. Our clan was torn asunder, scattered across thirty different realms, each more treacherous than the last.
And so, my quest began. Alone and filled with a burning desire for revenge, I set out to reunite my clan and reclaim our honor. But it wouldn't be easy. The journey ahead was fraught with danger, and I knew that only the strongest and most cunning would survive.

Back when I first started playing in around 2005, a friend, we will call him Martoth, because that is his in game name since then, joined me for our first adventure into Azeroth. We learned the game together and he kept playing long after I hung up the spurs. He was a solid paladin healer and healed on a shammy as well. I'm sure he has leveled most classes and done a majority of the end game raids through the years. He is an excellent healer. Top notch.
I brought him back to join us in hardcore. We were in our 40s and before we knew it, he had caught up. I mean sure, he took the trip back to elwynn 4 times in his first weekend, but martoth the 5th was our level within a week. Then he died while soloing. Pulled too many turtles in shimmering and went down. He was tired.
No problem. Marathon the 6th caught up to us again at level 52. He found edge masters and made a cool 2k gold. He kitted martoth the 6th to the 9s... top level profs, massive gear boosts, every consumable.
One happy Saturday morning, he decided to grind timbermaw rep in felwood. Got some funky respawns, goes down... with 700g in his back pocket...
Every time he dies he gets defensive and says he was fine, he was fine. All of his friends try and encourage him to change his behaviour. He says of course of course.
So out comes martoth the 7th. He still has some bank so he's reasonably geared. Hits 18, all his friends talk about trying to do DM that night. He gets working to make 19 before it gets late. We're all on comms. Then we hear, I'm going to die, I'm going to die...
He was clearing dead mines trash to mine... of course, we also hear 'I was fine, I was fine.'...
I know I can't change his behaviour, we've tried and tried. But what I can't get over is how frustrated I keep getting at deaths that would have been so easily avoided. I want to play with my old friend, and I really want my awesome pocket healer (no martoth has ever died in a dungeon). But I can't come to grips with my own crushing defeat when this keeps happening. Again and again.
I need a grief counselor or something (jk obviously). I know I have no control over the situation, but it keeps getting me in the guts every time I log on and he's 20 levels lower than the last time I logged on.

This is a long post but I have connections that haven’t turned into fully formed theories but I’m curious to know if anyone else thinks these things might be related/come into play regarding Elain.
When Feyre is with Nuala and Cerridwen UTM in chapter 41 of ACOTAR, it’s the only scene that I know of in all the books where we have of actual spying, besides the brief Azriel and Cassian scene in Acosf:
Nails clicked on stone, and my escorts swapped glances before they swung me into an alcove, a tapestry that hadn’t been there a moment before falling over us, the shadows deepening, solidifying. I had a feeling that if someone pulled back that tapestry, they would see only darkness and stone. One of them covered my mouth with a hand, holding me tightly to her, shadows slithering down her arm and onto mine. She smelled of jasmine—I’d never noticed that before. After all these nights, I didn’t even know their names.(…)My escorts pressed in tighter to me, so tense that I realized they were holding their breath. Handmaidens—and spies.(…)My escort’s shadowy hand clamped tighter around my mouth, and the Attor passed on.(…)The tapestry vanished, and we slipped back into the hall. “What was that?” I said, looking from one to the other as the shadows around us lightened—but not by much. “Who was that?” I clarified. “Trouble,” they answered in unison.
On my reread that scene made me pause because I always thought the scene in ACOFAS with Feyre and Elain in the shop with the weaver was interesting. And I’ve always thought that tapestry will have something to do with Elain:
The tapestry had been woven from fabric so black it seemed to devour the light, so black it almost strained the eye (…) A sort of iridescent thread that shifted with sparks of color. Like woven starlight. “You’re thinking of getting it?” Elain asked. (…) The moment my nail touched the velvet-soft surface, it seemed to vanish. As if the material truly did gobble up all color, all light. (…) “I call it Void. It absorbs the light. Creates a complete lack of color.” “You made it?” Elain asked, now staring over her shoulder toward the tapestry. (…) “The silver thread,” Elain asked. “What is that called?” The weaver paused the loom again, the colorful strings vibrating. She held my sister’s gaze. No attempt at a smile this time. “I call it Hope.”(…) I stared and stared at the black fabric that was like peering into a pit of hell. And then stared at the iridescent, living silver thread that cut through it, bright despite the darkness that devoured all other light and color.(…) The impossible depth of blackness before me, the unlikely defiance of Hope shining through it,(…) “Feyre?” Elain was again at my side. I hadn’t heard her steps. Hadn’t heard any sound for moments.(…) “Then there would be no Hope shining in the Void.”
Elain (and Azriel) are attributed to Hope. I just always wondered why this was even a part of the story and why Elain was there for it at all. I’ll come back to the void, but here’s another ACOFAS scene that had me interested. When Rhys visits his preferred jeweler in chapter 11:
She slid the tray beneath the counter and pulled out another, her night-veiled hands moving smoothly. Not a wraith, but something similar, her tall, lean frame wrapped in permanent shadows, only her eyes—like glowing coals—visible. The rest tended to come in and out of view, as if the shadows parted to reveal a dark hand, a shoulder, a foot. Her people all master jewel smiths, dwelling in the deepest mountain mines in our court. Most of the heirlooms of our house had been Tartera-made, Feyre’s cuffs and crowns included. Neve waved a shadowed hand over the tray she’d laid out.
Nuala and Cerridwen are described so similarly to this! And it brings me to this next part. There is a scene in ACOSF where Rhys and Amren are sharing a little history lesson with Cassian and Azriel after Nesta Made her weapons:
“Once, the High Fae were more elemental, more given to reading the stars and crafting masterpieces of art and jewelry and weaponry. Their gifts were rawer, more connected to nature, and they could imbue objects with that power.”
Feyre, Art. Nesta, the Made daggers and sword. And Elain is always connected to jewelry- Graysons ring, Lucien’s earrings, Azriel’s necklace.
So… am I reaching, or does anyone think these things might be connected? Does anyone think Elain might make a trip to those mountains where the jeweler is from? Maybe Make an object with a jeweler like Nesta Made the weapons with the blacksmith? I guess I’m just wondering why the jeweler was described the way she was and if it connects with the twins at all. If there might be a reason for her to go there in her book. Like maybe… I don’t know… a call back to “Perhaps even Elain would receive an engagement ring that hadn’t been forged with hate and fear.” How about a ring forged with love and beauty?
And finally, back the void. Chapter 76 in ACOWAR when the Cauldron breaks:
The … thing in the Cauldron. Or lack of it. It was lack and substance, absence and presence.(…) in those ruins of the Cauldron … It was a void. But also not a void—a growth. It did not belong here. Belong anywhere.(…) Including that thing behind us. That hole.(…) It was a hole. Airless. No life could exist here. No light.(…) Light danced along the fissures where the broken thirds had come together. There—there I would need to forge. To weld. To bind.(…) Until the thing it contained … it was in there. Locked away.
Spoilers for HOFAS
When Bryce opens the black hole in chapter 97 near the very end of the book:
There was no air here, no warmth.(…) They had created a void that had sucked the Asteri in—the only sort of prison that might destroy a being of light. The only force in the universe that ate light, so strong no light could ever escape it. A portal to nowhere. To a black hole. Wasn’t that the unholy power that Apollion possessed? The power of the Void. The antithesis of light.(…) So she’d met their black hole with one of her own. A bigger one. A black hole—a void—to eat other black holes.(…) No more kill switch,
So when a void is mentioned, it’s all talked about exactly the same, which is why again I’m always thinking about that scene with Feyre/Elain and the tapestry. Maybe fixing the cauldron is something all the sisters do together, but it’s interesting to me that HOFAS was to set up Elain’s book and she has such strong ties to the cauldron. Going into it, being captured by it, being loved by it and gifted Sight, Feyre questioning the cauldron in regard to elain and Azriel, Azriel questioning it in regard to not being Elain’s mate(only to find out it’s corrupted the next time we see him.)
I’m wondering if Elain is that hope in the void. If she is able to fix the cauldron that adores her so much. Maybe it saw a semblance of the part of it that was corrupted when she went into it. What if she goes BACK into it? What if it gives her the opportunity to go back to being human but she chooses this time to be fae? That’s a shot in the dark but I would love something like that.

I (34F) am currently in the process of divorce, which has been mentally exhausting but thanks to therapy and a lot of work on myself I’m reaching a peaceful agreement.
I’ve had recently reconnected with an old flame back from university days. I was clear from the start that I did not think it was a good time to explore anything beyond platonic, however he (34M) insisted that he had been waiting on his chance with me for over a decade and that he is ready to date me despite my divorce not yet being finalised. I was very cautious at first , accepting the odd coffee date here and there as I like to take things slow before becoming intimate, especially given the circumstances.
He, however, was very insisting, full of compliments, generous, chivalrous, talked about marriage and family, even children’s names. Within 1 month, he referred to me as his girlfriend. This caught me by surprise, but I just assume some people are more spontaneous and a serious conversation about “what are we” wasn’t needed. He told all his friends about me. Because he is an old friend, and actually one who warned me about a toxic ex of mine in the past, I felt he was very caring and safe , and eventually I let my guard down and decided to let him in. For my birthday, he got flowers, took me out for dinner, even got me a necklace and a little music box. I’ve asked him if he was falling in love with me and he said yes.
Then eventually I let myself be intimate with him. It’s been mind blowing every single time.
I work a 9-5 kind of job that involves travelling from time to time. He works in a busy hospitality environment, mainly nights. I did ask from the start if he did not consider this an incompatibility, which he reassured me it wouldn’t be and managed to fit each other in our busy schedules. He always insisted on paying too, despite me being the one who earned the most. He booked us on a trip to his home country with his family. Again, a little bit too fast for me , but I have no logical reason to refuse.
Then something happened. He told me about his schedule for the week in order to fit some time together. Because he had a training event that may involve dinner with colleagues the following day, I told him I would see him in 3 days instead. But he insisted that he would see me the next day. I told him it really was ok if he couldn’t meet up, but he was determined to meet me. So the next day, I told him ok, I’m finished with work, let me know how you’re getting on. He said he thought he was finishing within the following hour. As I needed to buy some stuff anyway I told him I would then see him in town. Comes to the meeting time and he texts “I am staying for dinner , can’t get out of it” to which I say: it’s ok, that’s why I suggested not to meet today but when we both have free time. And I went home. He texted me but I only saw it after I finished cooking my own dinner: “are you ignoring me ?” At this point , I found it a bit strange that after technically leaving me stranded he was asking if I was ignoring him. But of course I replied and made nothing out of it. However , I found it a bit rude that he didn’t even apologise for his sudden change of plans.
We met that Friday and it was great. Said he’s meeting me the next day , usual time (a few hours before he starts his shift) but he overslept and had to go to work. Again, not a problem. However the same thing happens the following day (Sunday) but this time I don’t hear from him until he’s been working a few hours already. “Guess what time I woke up”. I saw the message and put my phone on the side , as I had low battery and was out socialising with friends. Didn’t think this required an immediate response. Later on in the evening I come to a multitude of messages accusing me that I’ve changed my style of messaging and that something was off. I explained exactly what happened and that he had nothing to worry about. We agreed to meet up next day. We did. He brought up the “incident” again. I apologised , I expressed that I did not like being messed around with my schedule as I’m usually quite busy and there has been a few instances already and no apologies, we made up and went for dinner and after , to have a few drinks where he normally works. He made a point it was gross misconduct to drink at his work. Well, we get there , he necks two shots and informs me the date was over and he decided to jump in and help. No apologies. I left and told him I found this very rude. At this point my gut feeling is starting to tell me something’s off.
There’s a few more instances of me having to chase him to clarify whether or not to meet. I find this a bit exhausting to do. Not every time we agreed , we met as he was busy either sleeping or working. Or his phone died. Then when we have some time together , which is scarce , he is constantly on his phone replying to everyone , so I find this behaviour very confusing and ultimately, rude.
Last planned date , after checking with him several times , I got theatre tickets and paid deposit for dinner. He reassured me it was going to happen and that he was very excited. He doesn’t reply to my last messages for a solid 15h, so I ask him why is he treating me like this when he doesn’t like the same done to him ? The day before this, he messages me saying “little bit of a pickle but have to work tomorrow”. At this point , I’ve had enough with my time being wasted and not a single apology. So I texted him back that “I need a break from all this, sorry”. He just reacts with a thumbs up which is infuriating to say the least (we are talking 14 years of friendship) so I asked him : “is that it? Are you even sorry ? “ to which he says : “sorry for what, having to work? “ to which I reply: no it’s not even about tickets or rotas or plans , is about emotional neglect and lack of consideration. He says he’s not willing to discuss it as his out with his team and I said I agree is not the time and place. But he carried on texting me saying that he doesn’t think it will work out and that he needs someone smart and not someone who lives in la-la land. I firstly explain that I had already broken up with him earlier, so no need to turn the tables and that I know I am smart and why trying to belittle me? He continued lashing out that I am not smart , I am not brave, etc. and that he wins at all these qualities. I come to the conclusion that he’s the one scared of vulnerability and trying to compete against me, which is weird and childish.
Now the weight in my chest has lifted and I think I’ve dodged a bullet , however part of me wonders if I have been too harsh breaking up by text with someone who struggles with emotional intelligence and self regulation?

For my birthday, he got flowers, took me out for dinner, even got me a necklace and a little music box. I’ve asked him if he was falling in love with me and he said yes.
Then eventually I let myself be intimate with him. It’s been mind blowing every single time.
I work a 9-5 kind of job that involves travelling from time to time. He works in a busy hospitality environment, mainly nights. I did ask from the start if he did not consider this an incompatibility, which he reassured me it wouldn’t be and managed to fit each other in our busy schedules. He always insisted on paying too, despite me being the one who earned the most. He booked us on a trip to his home country with his family. Again, a little bit too fast for me , but I have no logical reason to refuse.
Then something happened. He told me about his schedule for the week in order to fit some time together. Because he had a training event that may involve dinner with colleagues the following day, I told him I would see him in 3 days instead. But he insisted that he would see me the next day. I told him it really was ok if he couldn’t meet up, but he was determined to meet me. So the next day, I told him ok, I’m finished with work, let me know how you’re getting on. He said he thought he was finishing within the following hour. As I needed to buy some stuff anyway I told him I would then see him in town. Comes to the meeting time and he texts “I am staying for dinner , can’t get out of it” to which I say: it’s ok, that’s why I suggested not to meet today but when we both have free time. And I went home. He texted me but I only saw it after I finished cooking my own dinner: “are you ignoring me ?” At this point , I found it a bit strange that after technically leaving me stranded he was asking if I was ignoring him. But of course I replied and made nothing out of it. However , I found it a bit rude that he didn’t even apologise for his sudden change of plans.
We met that Friday and it was great. Said he’s meeting me the next day , usual time (a few hours before he starts his shift) but he overslept and had to go to work. Again, not a problem. However the same thing happens the following day (Sunday) but this time I don’t hear from him until he’s been working a few hours already. “Guess what time I woke up”. I saw the message and put my phone on the side , as I had low battery and was out socialising with friends. Didn’t think this required an immediate response. Later on in the evening I come to a multitude of messages accusing me that I’ve changed my style of messaging and that something was off. I explained exactly what happened and that he had nothing to worry about. We agreed to meet up next day. We did. He brought up the “incident” again. I apologised , I expressed that I did not like being messed around with my schedule as I’m usually quite busy and there has been a few instances already and no apologies, we made up and went for dinner and after , to have a few drinks where he normally works. He made a point it was gross misconduct to drink at his work. Well, we get there , he necks two shots and informs me the date was over and he decided to jump in and help. No apologies. I left and told him I found this very rude. At this point my gut feeling is starting to tell me something’s off.
There’s a few more instances of me having to chase him to clarify whether or not to meet. I find this a bit exhausting to do. Not every time we agreed , we met as he was busy either sleeping or working. Or his phone died. Then when we have some time together , which is scarce , he is constantly on his phone replying to everyone , so I find this behaviour very confusing and ultimately, rude.
Last planned date , after checking with him several times , I got theatre tickets and paid deposit for dinner. He reassured me it was going to happen and that he was very excited. He doesn’t reply to my last messages for a solid 15h, so I ask him why is he treating me like this when he doesn’t like the same done to him ? The day before this, he messages me saying “little bit of a pickle but have to work tomorrow”. At this point , I’ve had enough with my time being wasted and not a single apology. So I texted him back that “I need a break from all this, sorry”. He just reacts with a thumbs up which is infuriating to say the least (we are talking 14 years of friendship) so I asked him : “is that it? Are you even sorry ? “ to which he says : “sorry for what, having to work? “ to which I reply: no it’s not even about tickets or rotas or plans , is about emotional neglect and lack of consideration. He says he’s not willing to discuss it as his out with his team and I said I agree is not the time and place. But he carried on texting me saying that he doesn’t think it will work out and that he needs someone smart and not someone who lives in la-la land. I firstly explain that I had already broken up with him earlier, so no need to turn the tables and that I know I am smart and why trying to belittle me? He continued lashing out that I am not smart , I am not brave, etc. and that he wins at all these qualities. I come to the conclusion that he’s the one scared of vulnerability and trying to compete against me, which is weird and childish.
Now the weight in my chest has lifted and I think I’ve dodged a bullet , however part of me wonders if I have been too harsh breaking up by text with someone who struggles with emotional intelligence and self regulation?

 | I found two interesting things related to the order of crafting items: submitted by nyma18 to Treegaze [link] [comments] One may be a bug: when crafting the Wooden Flute, if you first add the Branch lvl 4, it doesn’t allow you to add the Branch lvl 3 after. If you do the lower level first and the higher level last it works. (Likely, as the higher level can be used instead of the lower level, the match is being made with the lvl 4 as replacement for the lvl 3, and then a lvl 4 or above is expected to fill the slot of the required lvl 4) The other is an interesting quirk: The Seamonster Tooth Necklace takes 1 lvl 2 gold, 1 lvl 2 silver, 1 lvl 3 seamonster tooth. One of the recipes of the Seamonster Tooth earring takes 1 lvl 2 gold, 1 lvl 2 silver, 2 lvl 3 seamonster tooth. (Or at least 1 lvl 3 or 4 seamonster tooth, and the other tooth may be of whatever level you want) To be able to execute that particular recipe, you can never add one tooth as the final element - once a lvl 3 or 4 tooth, the silver and the gold are in the anvil, regardless of the order added, the necklace will be created. If you really want the earrings (and the prills), you have to add the two teeth must be on the anvil before the gold and the silver are both there. Gold or silver need to be the last item, the rest doesn’t really matter. It’s likely that other items are also affected by this - wherever there’s a recipe for one item that is the same for the recipe for another item with an added element, there’s a chance the order by which the elements are added makes a difference in the result. |

To give you the why, here is the context first. Sorry for the long rant in advance.
Season 2. My first work. The guy sitting next to me is my senior. Cool, helpful, intelligent guy.
He played League during lunch breaks usually. Obviously, him not eating, instead focusing on the mayhem happening at the screen was very interesting to me. He introduced me to the basics, and after that League was a thing for me, very quickly.
The very first noob moment for me was to check the roles in the webpage, and being impressed with the 'carry', who carries the team to victory, I said to myself, hell yeah, Ezreal.
I lacked the mechanical skills to keep up with it. I had a more strategic approach, rather than micro level skills required for an ADC. So my adc career quickly ended after a few matches in ranked. Instead I turned to tanky tops and supports. ('Keep calm and *insert my RL name* will save you' became a meme in the company)
After barely reaching Gold, with my old hands, I was on the brink of quitting. I thought, the ultra competitive, toxic environment was not for me.
Then I clicked that magical button.
ARAM gave me everything I asked for. Things like;
No one gave up. Everyone just played, in their own way, often resulting in weird, creative and funny results.
ARAM was fun.
Fast forward today, most of you I believe, are aware of the incremental changes which happened.
Individual champion buffs/debuffs, mutes, bots, the grim reaper of combo breaker, people being more aggresive in chat and gameplay without any repercussions.. to name a few.
ARAM has changed. (MGS4 intro for the voice).
Just look at the posts with similar topics appearing recently.
Genuinely appreciated that button standing next to the SR for years, thanks rito.
Also, secretly, I really enjoyed the content you guys have created for the past years. You obviously have enjoyed this game mode as much as I did.
I deleted League entirely, moving on.

- People running around like headless chickens, while typing,
- Mid dancing around the fountain because of the item choices of the top and,
- Last but not least the toxicity, all gone.
