Hey fine financiers and (ATO reps),
I have a friend who is late 40s. They have never lodged a tax return. From 20-mid to 30s they barely made any income, probably less than the tax free threshold anyway, but in recent 7-9 years have established themselves as a software developer and now making probably 100k +- 25k yearly. It goes straight into their bankaccount and they spend it. They don't have an ABN. They just 'invoice' the people needing their services and get paid. This person does not file taxes. At All!
Besides the fact that this pisses me off, I am more curious... how do they (if ever) get found out? What are the chances? What are the penalties etc? Will they get a pension? How do people feel about this stuff? I mean, even young people making $15/hour pay tax to contribute to society.
Btw, they keep complaining about how bad the health system is in this country.

US April inflation came out and surprised to the downside, meaning that (at least in the US) domestic demand has cooled and consumer inflation has resumed its downward trend. US markets immediately pumped, with the Dow Jones average crossing the 40,000 mark for the first time. Will the PSE get any of that shine?

• [NEWS] BSP keeps interest rates steady... The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) [link] said yesterday that its Monetary Board decided to keep rates steady. In doing so, the BSP said that inflationary risks “continue to lean toward the upside”, but that its latest forecasts showed that “inflation would settle close tot he upper-end of the target range.” As for inflation expectations, the BSP said that those “remain well-anchored”. The Monetary Board said that it “deems it appropriate to ensure tight monetary policy settings until inflation settles firmly within the target range”, and indicated that such a stance would also “help keep inflation expectations anchored”.
  
  • MB: At least the BSP stopped talking about wage increases as a potential inflationary risk. That said, does anyone else detect an air of contradiction in what the BSP is saying? Perhaps contradiction is too strong of a term, but I get the growing sense that the BSP’s reasons for keeping rates high are somewhat diverging from its own analysis. The BSP says that it’s primary objective is price stability, so we can infer that it’s keeping rates high as a means of trying to suppress price increases, and yet the BSP has again and again told us that the driver for price increases is a problem on the supply side of the equation, not the demand side. Interest rate adjustments don’t impact supply-side problems, because interest rate increases are meant to suppress demand. We don’t have a demand problem. Adding to this is the BSP’s concern about maintaining a tight policy to keep inflation expectations anchored, despite noting just a paragraph earlier that inflation expectations were already “well-anchored”. This implies that there is psychological space for the BSP to lower rates within the framework of current expectations. This is picky stuff, I know, there are simply too many people and companies struggling under high rates to ignore the rapidly decreasing marginal utility of yet another cycle of the BSP’s conservative observation of the situation. Just my personal opinion.
• [DIVS] DDMPR declares falling Q1 div at 116% payout ratio... DDMP [DDMPR 1.17 ▲0.9%; 37% avgVol] [link] declared a Q1/24 dividend of ₱0.023476, payable on July 15 to shareholders of record as of June 19. The dividend has an annualized yield of 8.03% based on the previous closing price. The total amount of the dividend is ₱419 million, which is 116% of the ₱362 million in distributable income that DDMPR reported for the quarter. Relative to DDMPR’s IPO price, the dividend increased DDMPR’s total stock and dividend return to -32.29%, up from its pre-dividend total return of -32.33%. DDMP REIT Fund Managers reported that DDMPR’s occupancy as of March 31 was just 76%, with occupancy at its main building (DoubleDragon Plaza) listed at just 70.8%.
  
  • MB: The dividend amount is up 1.4% from DDMPR’s disastrous Q4/23 dividend, but it’s down 7.5% y/y and down 15.8% from Q1/22. DDMPR is the second-oldest REIT on the PSE. It issued its first dividend to shareholders in Q4/20. Its sponsor,DoubleDragon* [DD 10.48 ▲10.0%; 581% avgVol], is bursting at the seams with potential assets that could be downloaded to DDMPR to diversify the REIT’s portfolio and breathe some much-needed life into this stagnating afterthought. DDMPR’s assets are fine, but their strategy in how to monetize those assets is outdated. Gone are the days when high commercial rents from POGOs could excuse the growing issue of collections from those POGOs. Now we have DDMPR suffering from high (and going higher) rates of delinquency. Gone are the days when investors were lapping up the chance to get in on the commercial office space game. Now we have the threat of a POGO ban and the existential threat of AI putting all of the “easy” BPO leasing opportunities at risk. Gone are the days when DDMPR’s inactivity could be explained away by its newness. Now we’re left picking through the rubble of yet another disappointing Quarterly Report, yet another y/y dividend reduction, and bagholders have heard no plan from management on what they’ll do to right the ship.*
• [EARNINGS] Jollibee Q1 profit: ₱2.6-B (up 27%)... Jollibee [JFC 224.00 ▲0.9%; 300% avgVol] [link] posted a Q1 net income attributable of ₱2.6 billion, up 27% from its Q1/23 net income attributable of ₱2.1 billion. JFC said it was able to grow profit margins and exceed its Q1 performance outlook thanks to “healthy top line growth combined with further operational efficiencies and effective management of expenses”. JFC’s system-wide sales were up 10.4% to ₱86.8 billion due to new store additions and same-store sales growth was up 5.5%, which JFC said was due to increased volume. Across all of JFC’s segmented business units, “Europe, Middle East, Asia” had the largest same-store sales growth (+14.7%) and system-wide sales growth (+25.5%). The “People’s Republic of China” and “Highlands Coffee” were negative in terms of same-store sales growth (-3.7% and -9.0%, respectively), and only the People’s Republic of China business unit was negative in terms of system-wide sales growth (-3.7%). JFC said that its difficulties in China are partly due to a high bar effect from last year’s success, and a slowdown in the quick service restaurant industry in that country more generally. JFC said that while Highlands Coffee saw its same-store sales growth fall 9.0%, it did “better than industry” and managed to gain 4% market share during that period.
  
  • MB: The bee perseveres. It has made massive bets in “coffee” and “China” that could pay off handsomely in the future, and all of this activity has likely bought the management team some more time with its shareholder base to deliver on the delicious fruits of these bets. JFC’s stock price is up almost 150% from its COVID low, but it’s somewhat rangebound between about ₱200/share and ₱270/share. The stock hit ₱273/share in late February, only to rapidly retreat back to the ₱215/share level over the next six weeks in a pattern that the share price has repeated two or three times already this year. Generally speaking, the highs are higher and the lows are higher, but maybe with all the segments firing this busy season the stock will finally be able to push out of that range.
• [NEWS] Several notable firms placed on suspension notice for failure to report... The PSE [link] notified four high-profile companies that their shares would be suspended at 9 AM today if 2023 Annual Reports were not posted. The companies that were put on notice are Tony Tiu’s AgriNurture [ANI 0.57 ▼1.7%; 102% avgVol], Philippine Infradev [INFRA 0.53 ▲1.9%; 262% avgVol] and two from pseudo-tycoon Dennis Uy, Chelsea Logistics [C 1.30 ▲4.0%; 526% avgVol] and Phoenix Petroleum [PNX 4.17 ▼0.2%; 78% avgVol]. Should any of these companies fail to submit their Annual Reports before 9 AM, they will remain suspended for up to three months until such report is submitted. If nothing has changed after three months, the PSE must begin involuntary delisting proceedings.
  
  • MB: These companies are not a random sample, and they’re not representative of the PSE as a whole. Will ANI, INFRA, C, and PNX push their luck right up to the deadline, or will any of these companies slip into a suspended state for failure to complete one of the most basic components of public corporate life? As usual, retail bagholders will just have to wait and see what the owners decide to do.

I ask this because I've seen a lot of people say that ER is the greatest soul game ever made. I'm curious on your guys' opinion. I asked here cause I think I'll get the least biased answers. Also, this includes Sekiro too.
For me ER would be number 4 on my favourite soulsborne games list. 1st is sekiro for the gameplay and an actual narrative for once, 2nd is Bloodborne for the setting, the design and number 3rd is dark souls 3 cause of its tight experience and having my second favourite boss (Nameless king) with 5th being DS2 SotFS and last being DS1 solely cause I lose interest in the second half. If I was just going by the first half it would be number 5.
While I love ER I do have some issues with it (this is all my opinion)
I don't really like the open world. It was great the first time but the second time the open world felt a bit tedious. It was like if you took the world of dark souls and stretched it out so it would take you longer to reach Point A to Point B. This is for subsequent playthroughs btw since souls games are kinda meant to be played again (you'll come back anyways, you always do) Everything past the first playthrough felt like an empty map. And if you like to do fresh playthroughs instead of NG+ you would have to pull out the wiki to see which cave has which upgrade material. It loses it's magic.
I loved the linear experience of Dark souls and Bloodborne where every area felt connected with its shortcuts. It felt like a rougelike in a sense. You knew everything about the map but you could play differently this time in a reasonable amount of time.
The mountaintop was just a straight run to the fire giant.
The legacy dungeons fixed this issue but doesn't help when 70% of the map is open world.
Also, the enemy recycling. Seriously, how many dragons do we need. And those watchdogs, magma wyrms, the erdtree avatar, Beastmen, fucking ulcerated tree spirits I understand open world games need to recycle enemy and to have an enemy drop an important upgrade material (why the rotten lizard?!) but it feels like 50% of the enemies we have are the one's mentioned above.
The Boss scaling was another issue for me. I would say I'm pretty good at souls games but still struggle. I beat Isshin, Nameless King, Midir and Gael in my 3rd, 4th, 2nd and 4th try respectively while Friede, Father, Ludwig, Maria and Orphan took me close to 10, 8, close to 15, close to 5 and around 35 tries respectively. Did Gehrman and Moon presence first try. I have also completed Shura and Divine heir gauntlets.
The point is the bosses in ER have such a weird balance. Where you can solo bosses easily in the other games if you practice or fall into a rhythm, in ER bosses are designed around summons and sometimes summons break the game. I haven't been able to solo Malenia, Radahn (who is basically a raid boss) or Maliketh yet (after close to 50+ to 100 tries each). They feel designed to be beaten with summons while bosses like Margot, Placidusax, Fortisax, Godfrey and Horah Loux (who is Actually my favourite boss) felt so much more fun to play against and felt way more fair. Every death was my mistake and it didn't feel like I jumped from ER into Sekiro all of a sudden.
I know I probably suck with those three bosses and everyone has different experience (I died to the crystal sage nearly 10 times) but you can't deny that they play differently than other bosses.
I love ER and while I appreciate the open world and this experiment I really hope they don't make another open world right after this and instead go back to their tried and true linear formula. I know the DLC will be amazing as FS has a track record of delivering absolutely amazing DLCs.
Also, all of these issues I had were my own personal opinion. Feel free to share your own.

When interviewed after the game he clearly says, "this group never dies." Did you all notice that he didn't include Phil Neville specifically In that group. I think it's fair to say that he hates Phil. There is obviously so much here that we the fans can see more than the players can. Sure he signed here as free agent after being coached by Phil but let's get real. It's oBvIoUs that Phil was the wrong hire and Crepeau's body language said it all when I saw him from 400 yards away take a drink of water.
I mean he credited Phil and the coaching staff towards the end of the interview but I can't accept this because it wouldnt reinforce my narrative.

I’m going on a vacation in late June. The trip is about a week long. Hotels, already booked. Event tickets, already purchased. Everything was going great until my work informed us that we will not be receiving our yearly bonus in May. It now will moved to sometime in July. This is not good for me because I was planning all my spending money for this vacation around my company bonus.
With that being said I’m trying to think of the best way to get 1400$ (what my bonus would be) by mid June. Preferably without having to get a second job.
I have never taken out a personal loan before. If I take out a loan and I am able to pay it back within a few weeks, do I still need to pay the full interest?
I was thinking about getting a credit card with a similar limit, but I’m worried about depending on it and possibly not being able to use it at certain places.
Also, please don’t comment anything along the lines of “if you can’t afford this trip you shouldn’t have booked it”. This my first vacation in many many years. We all know how tough life is right now, financially. Please be kind.

tl;dr Looking at three cars. If the first car doesn't work out for preference reasons, we're looking at our dream car (Tesla Model Y) and a reasonable "economy" car (Toyota Rav4). I crunched some numbers and it seems like the Tesla Model Y isn't a bad decision, and might even be better. Want to get more eyes on this to see if I'm missing anything obvious and/or did bad math
Recently married, in the process of combining finances, and wife needs a new car. Her 2009 Nissan Murano has been dying for a while. Our other vehicle is a 2003 Toyota 4Runner which just got some repairs so hopefully will be good for another 100k miles.
I've done a lot of research and narrowed it down to:

• Chevy Bolt EUV
  
• Toyota Rav4 Hybrid
  
• Tesla Model Y
  

The Bolt is the #1 winner, clear as day. But my wife has anxiety about smaller cars, so we're test driving one this weekend to see if it'll work for us. If it does, then great. We're going with that and the rest of the post doesn't matter. If not, we need to look at the other options.
I crunched some numbers and it seems like the "dream car" (the Tesla Model Y) might not be a terrible decision, and potentially even a better option than the Rav4. But I'm thinking surely I messed up my math.
Rav 4 Hybrid

• Car price ~$28k from what I can see for a 3-5 year old used Hybrid, even lowest trim. Some cheaper ones but with over 100k miles.
  
• Fuel costs estimated at ~$117/mo (rough estimate)
  
• Insurance quoted at $177/mo
  
• Maintenance estimated at $21/mo. Very rough estimate. Trying to low ball if anything to give the Rav4 more of an edge since emotionally I want it to be higher cost
  
• Loan 20% down , 48 month term, 7% APR (not taking into account taxes or registration)
  
• Costs This would be $536 for the car payment and $851 for total monthly cost (payment, insurance, fuel, maintenance)
  

Tesla Model Y

• Car price $37,490 if ordered new after $7500 POS discount ($2k cheaper if buying a new inventory vehicle, but I tried to highball this one)
  
• Fuel $15/month charger spot at my apartment (used $50 in calculations just to high ball it even tho I believe the $15 is a flat rate)
  
• Insurance quoted at $217/mo
  
• Maintenance cost used was $0; probably not totally accurate for 5 years but I underestimated the other one anyways so even stevens.
  
• Loan The thing that's interesting about the model Y is that there is currently a 0.99% APR promotion going on. You have to qualify, but I have a 747 credit score so I'd like to think I will. I'm using 60 as the term length; longer than the rav4, but with a much lower rate it seems to make sense. Using 20% down to match the Rav4 example.
  
• Costs This would be $513 for the car payment and $779 for the total monthly cost.
  

I'm aware that the Model Y's cost is cheaper partly because of the longer loan term, but even when extrapolating out to 1-10 years, the Model Y is either cheaper or they're very close.
Depending on the exact numbers I plugged in, the Model Y and the Rav4 are weirdly similar in cost compared to how different the vehicles are, and if the EUV ends up not being an option, I think getting a Model Y might actually make sense. Even if it was a smidge higher, I think, assuming the math is on point and there's nothing dumb I've forgotten, it might still be worth it personally to spend that extra to get a much nicer (IMO) car. But in this case, it's actually cheaper.
Considering that I tried to lowball the Rav4 and high ball the Model Y, that adds to the "huh?" moment. I'm sure my numbers aren't all correct and maybe I'm missing stuff, but this is my overall impression right now.
I'd love to get some second opinions on this and if I'm misunderstanding something/thinking about this the wrong way.
Personal finance stats

• I make $88k, wife makes ~$40k
  
• I contribute 15% to 401k, max my HSA, max my Roth IRA, and we'll be maxing my wife's Roth here soon. None of this will be decreased if I can help it.
  
• Currently participating in my company's ESPP, so in June I'll get ~$5000, if not more, which I plan on putting straight into my savings which I haven't been contributing to because this will be equivalent to having saved $842/month for the last 6 months.
  
• ~$15k in savings combined (wife brought <$1k into the mix, so our savings need to be increased due to use combining everything, and doubly so with us taking on a car payment here soon)
  
• no debt other than my wife's dying car which has about $1300 remaining.
  

I'm 15 years old, nearing 16, and she won't let me even take a 15 minute walk home from school. I live in a relatively crime free neighborhood. She's a hardcore narcissist and won't take no for an answer, even though I tell her that if she walks with me and someone comes to kidnap, I can run faster than her and she'd get kidnapped faster than me. She won't let me walk my dog in our neighborhood, will throw a fit if I even SUGGEST walking home alone after school, and seems to think for some reason that I'm an incapable infant who'd get kidnapped at the promise of candy. I haven't done anything to warrant this and I've already proven I can do things safely, so how the fuck am I convincing her to let me literally just WALK HOME FROM SCHOOL?

Hi! I want to start off by saying I have been in the fitness community for a couple of years so I have probably heard every piece of advice ever, some good and some bad!
Currently, I’m at 139 pounds and 5’4”, which is totally fine but I’ve taken some time off so it’s not my best look. I KNOW how to lose weight as I’ve done it before but for some reason I’ve noticed it’s a bit harder this time.
Again, totally normal. I’m 23 and my muscle mass is low so my metabolism isn’t great. I’m honestly not stressing about it. That said, I’d LOVE any tips you all have to speed up this process (ik ik sustainability is important but I’m not looking for that rn) or just to get an overall more attractive appearance for summer.
I’m planning to bulk in October so I’d just love a quick fix for now! Thank you all so much and feel free to ask any questions you need!

Before getting into the meat of this post, it needs to be remembered that the ex-Scientologists named here are actual victims of the Church of Scientology. Nothing in this post is meant to deny that fact.
However, let's remember too, those being attacked by Aaron Smith-Levin and their new brand of Scientology-style attacks, are also victims of Scientology.
The cruelty directed at Mike Rinder, Claire Headley, Tony Ortega, Chris Shelton, Leah Remini, Stefani Hutchinson, the Aftermath Foundation and those who speak out against SPTV's excesses are not justified. There has been a strain of "both sides" about this. Defending oneself against slander is not the same thing as initiating slander, which is how this all started. Telling the truth in response to SPTV creator attacks is not the same thing as a Fair Game campaign against them.
It doesn't bring me any joy to write these posts, but these things need to be known because the number of distortions and fabrications coming out of the SPTV creators is reaching a fever pitch and it needs to stop.
My earlier two posts focused mainly on Chrissie Bixler, Jane Doe 1 (from the Masterson trials) and Aaron Smith-Levin, all of whom have been working together in a tight, hidden conspiracy to attack anyone who could expose them or their agendas, and/or anyone who opposes their slanderous and vicious attacks. They are in fact acting as Scientology does, following L. Ron's directions to hunt those people down and attempt to ruin them.
Unfortunately, the SPTV cabal is not just these three mentioned above. There are others who have also jumped on this bandwagon of Scientology-like attacks. From the outside, none of these people's "content" is any different from what the Church of Scientology produces through its STAND League and other OSA-front group social media accounts. If OSA had a video channel, it would look almost exactly like SPTV.
So let's take a look at Serge Del Mar, formerly known as Serge Gil. If you Google "Serge Gil" you will find photos of him hanging around with the Mastersons and other VIP Scientologists as recently as November of 2014 at an art exhibit Serge participated in. This was while he was still in the cult, of course, but it sure is odd that he never mentions this.
Funny too that this group of "innocents" all have taken to going after whistle blowers who are out, and not admitting to anything they did while they were Scientologists and Sea Organisation members. Serge becomes visibly and loudly unhinged over the idea that Mike Rinder was once the head of OSA and therefore "must know" every single secret and crime ever perpetrated in Scientology. Yet he claims perfect innocence when it comes to his Scientology history. But how is that possible when he perpetuated Scientology's abuse on children in a much more direct and forceful way than Mike Rinder ever could: Serge audited children and was apparently paid handsomely for it. Auditing is, of course, Scientology's warped and twisted idea of counselling.
In this article from Tony Ortega, it reads: "In his Facebook post, Serge talked about the horror of having men admit to having sex with children, and being instructed to get even more information from such confessors, who were then simply charged even more [money] to 'handle' their paedophilia.
"We were made to sit in that Fort Harrison hotel day in and day out interrogating people to see what they had done. Our interviews were always closely watched [and] monitored by several ‘terminals.’ All the CSes [case supervisors] and tech ‘executives’ became willing in colluding and becoming 100 percent complicit with this sexually inappropriate environment for any one under the age of 18."
"Self-confessed paedophiles could just magically ‘address’ this behavior with auditing — all the while you were looking at ways to monetize at every opportunity' he says, accusing Scientology executives of looking for ways to turn confessions into more auditing and more money."
So who were these paedophiles and why aren't they being reported to the police? Why is Serge not talking about them? Why is he instead negating what he did and laughing about it in live streams with Nora, where they forgive and forget easily when it comes to their own bad behaviour in the cult. How come they get a free pass but no one else outside of SPTV does?
Serge engages in hypocrisy at a level that would put politicians and cult leaders to shame.
Recently, Serge added Leah Remini's name to his hit list by claiming Remini told him that she wanted nothing to do with helping children of the Sea Organisation. He actually said that about the woman who produced an the documentary series which gave Serge and the other "Scientology children" a voice on an international stage, something none of them were able to accomplish on their own.
Some facts from the past need to be brought forward.
First, it was Leah Remini who was trying to help all of the ex-Scientology "kids" to help find legal representation. This was the group Serge Del MaSerge Gil proclaimed he was the leader of, saying he was the "voice of many." He claimed he would be bringing the clients and the documentation to Kent's law firm.
Remini was introduced to Brian Kent by A&E. Right after the end of the Aftermath's finale, Kent's law firm was the only one willing to take on this massive case. Is A&E now going to be attacked by this group? Where are the tweets directed at A&E? Not that I am suggesting that. It is just to prove the facts here are consistently twisted to suit this group’s goal and it has nothing to do with exposing the crimes committed by Scientologists and Scientology.
This is about getting anyone who isn’t them.
Second and more importantly, it was Serge who then ran with this and gathered claimants for this case, and it was Serge that then introduced them all to Kent's firm. Christi Gordon was also working on this case. It was a noble effort. Leah, Serge and Christi did not do anything wrong,but somehow now Leah is a bad person for having tried to help.
Obviously, no one was aware at that time of what the future would hold for Jane Doe and Kent. No one still knows what happened with these cases - because Serge Del Mar was the ringleader. No mention of this from Alex the silly Wabbit. No mention of this from anyone. And obviously once Kent's law firm was hired, Leah and Mike would not have been privy to any privileged information about the cases.
Then Aaron and crew claim they uncovered this alleged crime committed by Kent? Kent isn’t being accused of crimes of child molestation, or of rape. He is being accused of unethical behaviour with an adult victim - and yes, that is bad enough. But it was Jane Doe in this case that had to summon the courage to file a confidential complaint. Aaron and his gang didn’t uncover and report anything. What they did do was compromise a bar investigation; they took credit for something they had nothing to do with. This is simply despicable behaviour. How this group has completely fabricated the facts of the investigation is beyond me.
They didn't even talk to the person who filed the complaint against Brian Kent. They were too busy stabbing her in the back, compromising her identity and forwarding a confidential document. Aaron conveniently didn’t mention this was a confidential investigation and document when he read it out to his audience. That's how Aaron makes a living.
Anyone continuing this story and celebrating these people are only doing so for other reasons that have nothing to do with the Jane Doe in this case. It is not only unfortunate that Jane Doe in this case had been harmed by Kent, but now these SPTV creators are harming her and her investigation too.
As a Scientology "activist," every action Serge claims he has taken against Scientology has been a major failure. If you step back and look at his track record, Serge has not accomplished a single thing against his former “church” of any significance, unless you count minutes of time shouting into a microphone at highest-ever decibels as 'activism.' It's not. It's just shouting into a microphone. He constantly claims that he has receipts, lawsuits are imminent, but with nothing forthcoming it sure seems as though Serge Del MaSerge Gil is nothing more than a con man looking for clicks for which he can profit.
Even more strangely, Serge's first attempt at fame was spending many years attacking former high-ranking Sea Organisation member Debbie Cook. Remember her? She was the one who got more people out of Scientology with her blistering 2011 New Year email than any former member before her. Debbie Cook was a whistle blower. And Serge seems to be going after those who did/do the work and are OUT of Scientology - excluding himself of course. Why not expose themselves for the crimes they committed while in Scientology? The crimes they covered up while they were in the cult? Aaron tearfully admitted to committing his own heinous crimes once, but somehow he is absolved.
Serge's criminal complaint against Scientology in Florida went nowhere and the investigation was dropped due to a lack of evidence. In fact, Serge told lies in his police filing, such as claiming that there are tunnels underneath The Fort Harrison Hotel (Scientology’s Clearwater Florida location) which are used to traffic Scientology children.
These days he goes on and on about "the hotels" where supposedly children are kept as sex slaves, a claim so preposterous even ex-Scientologists are fed up with hearing it.
Serge Del MaSerge Gil has promised to bring lawsuits against Scientology and continues to disseminate that he "has receipts" but again, not once has he ever been able to produce a shred of evidence or anything real. His incompetence and ineffectiveness are obvious, which is why the only way he can remain in the spotlight is to attack inwardly against the people who are getting the real work done.
For Serge (and the rest), it's the spotlight that is important, not the actual work.
Serge, Aaron, Chrissie Bixler, Jane Doe 1, Mike Brown, Miriam Francis, Nora Aames and the following are on a campaign to destroy their own credibility in the real world. One can only wonder if they are also getting a kick-back from Scientology.
Liz Gale has seemingly banished herself after being exposed and has all but disappeared, which of course is being blamed on RindeRemini/Hutchinson.
Christie Gordon too has disappeared from the SPTV Foundation board. Why hasn't she spoken up? Isn't she part of the crew demanding others own what they did? Why hasn't she done so when it comes to her own group's activities?
Joey Chait who was on board for the SPTV fake foundation, is now off too and no one knows why.
What has the Aftermath done? Helped people to get out of Scientology. That is the work.
What has SPTV Inc. done to help victims of Scientology? How about showing it? I have previously asked for evidence of any effective work and have yet to receive a response.
It's time for Serge (and the rest) to put up or shut up. If he or anyone in this group has real evidence of Scientology crimes, he has a solicitor and he can file a lawsuit in civil court or he can go back to the Clearwater Police and show them evidence of the crimes committed against him.
I'm not saying that crimes were not committed against Serge by others when he was in the Sea Org. But screaming into a microphone for hours isn't how to bring Scientology to justice. Screaming at law enforcement who have no idea what he is talking about with Flag and children is not helping anyone, nor is stalking and harassing Scientology's attorneys while Leah Remini's hearings are going on.
It looks an awful lot like the SPTV crew are trapped in some kind of victim complex and are high-conflict personalities.
So instead of more name calling, if Serge (or anyone in this group), "has receipts" that show that Mike Rinder is a criminal who is knowingly covering up his crimes in Scientology, produce them or shut up already. Rinder handed over his OSA documents. Aaron, by the way, took those documents under false pretenses, promised not to forward them and then did with the intent to harm Rinder and others. So instead of attacking Mike Rinder (the whistleblower here), where are the questions to the FBI for not acting on them? Where is the outrage for the documents that are authored by OSA personnel that are still in Scientology?
Personally, I'm sick of watching this crazy train go on and on without end just so some former Scientologists can make themselves appear altruist and inflate their egos for profit. Aren’t you all sick of the noise?

Hi guys,
Me and my friend are both students (aged 20 and 21) and we have recently started an event company specialising in the drum and bass scene in our area. We thought this would be a good idea as we have always wanted to run events, love drum and bass, and found a nice gap in the market with good enough demand.
To get our foot in the door we had to partner originally for two events with the main event company in the area. They secured us the venue (which was free), sorted ticketing, and said they would promote (they didn't promote us at all, so we had to take care of that), and took a 50% split on ticket sales. Bare in mind at this point there was NO mention of not being able to collaborate with other brands/clubs/companies in the area.
The two events went very successfully due to mine and my partners work, so as a result they promised us a stage at the city festival they are organising as they obviously saw potential. They then promised many other things (huge stages, office work, become an official part of their company, etc) but everything kept falling through. This was until 2 weeks ago when they all of a sudden said we could perform at the festival. This was only because another company they were working with dropped out, so we were being used as the 'filler' space. They only gave us 24 hours to organise a line up, saying that if we didn't we would lose the slot. That meant tirelessly messaging DJs, promoters, sorting payments, etc. Nevertheless we managed to do it and send it off.
During this time period there were many event companies and venues asking us if we would like to do an event with them. We were very excited because opportunities started coming to us now, and we needed collaboration everywhere to survive and get our name out there as a new event company. Every time we said yes, but as soon as the company we originally started with found out, they would instantly be very aggressive, angry and threaten to remove us from all of their future events (which at this point we had already been promoting and generating hype and selling tickets). So we would have to sever ties with the other companies we wanted to collaborate with. Interestingly, they all understood and said the company we work with has a terrible reputation for exclusivity and they wont allow any collaboration.
Eventually we realised we are missing out on money and chances to do events which a brand new grass roots event brand needs to flourish, so we decided to take an event exactly one week before the big festival. We let the company know this to be professional, and instantly they removed our slot at the festival and 'wished us luck'. Bare in mind, we had booked and paid for DJs, advertised this stage, and created many ticket sales which goes right into their pocket. We will therefore make 0 money and are out of pocket.
We explained to them that, there was never a moment where they said we had to remain exclusive, and that at one point they were a small brand like ours therefore they should understand that collaboration is vital to success at this stage. However they have taken it as a 'backstab' and tried to make us look like the villains as they believe they helped grow and develop our brand. In reality, all they did was secure us two venues (which cost them nothing) and didn't promote or advertise our event once. They didn't provide any equipment (decks, sound systems, etc) and didn't assist in the lineup or overall organisation of the event. Therefore we dispute that they helped grow our brand.
We see this as bullying almost, if they don't get their way, then they will try to squash little companies. We are nowhere near the size of being able to compete with them, so for us it just doesn't make sense? After speaking with many other companies our size and local to our area, they have all said the same thing about companies like these.
As a result we are going to do a free pop up party in the middle of the festival (the festival takes place in many clubs/bars in a town with one wristband) and have the same DJs play who were meant to play at the festival. We thought this was a good way not to let the people down, still let the event go ahead and also almost show this company that we can survive without them.
This is a bit of a messy post, but my question comes down to how do we avoid these toxic relationships in the future? We want to continue to collaborate with many companies but do not ever want to be in a position where we are backed into a corner and threatened by the big dogs. Also, is there any advice you'd give us as young business owners getting into an industry which can be very dodgy at times?

The Prestige quote comes from the scene here and shows a magic trick of money appearing. The Kansas City Shuffle is "In order for a confidence game to be a "Kansas City Shuffle", the mark must be aware, or at least suspect that he is involved in a con, but also be wrong about how the con artist is planning to deceive him. The con artist will attempt to misdirect the mark in a way that leaves him with the impression that he has figured out the game and has the knowledge necessary to outsmart the con artist, but by attempting to retaliate, the mark unwittingly performs an action that helps the con artist to further the scheme" and the Made you Look songs full line is "They shootin', Aw made you look" maybe referring to what is happening to the stock right now.

hey so i was rejected and not offered pathways. FSU is still my dream college and definitely where u wanna be, so I’m gonna be doing aspire at tcc (i have a ton of college credits alr so will be able to get my aa in a year or less if i grind it out).
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with rushing as a transfer. I guess since i’d technically be a junior I’m a bit nervous on how this would affect people’s perception of me idk. If anyone has transferred from tcc (not pathways) and rushed a sorority could you share some insight on if you felt included and normal through the process? I’m super invested in greek life and it’s an important aspect of college for me so any input would be super appreciated!

Hello people im fairly new to everything HRT and will start soon myself! Feel free to note any mistakes i may have made :)
So i have been reading A LOT about a good amount of topics that include factors that influence the Breast Development and there are quite as much confusing and contradicting information, which is obviously frustrating, not only to me, but to a lot of People!
The one thing that was clear, was the lack of information, in studies aswell as in posts in this or other subreddits. We cant influence the studies, make them faster or even have the necessary rescources to conduct our own, but we can definitly influence the amount of information given to each other!
Many posts asking about Breast Development, especially in combination with Progesteron, often lack crucial infromation to the specific situations. We dont have any studies supporting which factors exactly contribute to the different mechanisms, but having a good amount of Factors for every Person posting here could give us all a bigger picture and maybe help with every single ones situation, even tho its anecdotally it may still help!
Noones memory is perfect, every bit of Information can help!!!
Lets get to what i seem to have filtered out beeing the biggest contributor to specifically Development of Breasts, short and longterm!
Also note that all of the following information is what i found, tried to understand and put into context or explain the importance. Im not a doctor and CANNOT give medical advice. Im just trying to theorize about this topic and maybe be able to filter out what can help!

1. Antiandrogen usage (and possible dangers?)

Specifically Spironolactone, an Antiandronegen, is suspected to decrease Breast Size (to be exacty : happiness with breast size). https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23055547/
Finding exact reasons for that is extremely difficult and while researching i didnt find ANY other study supporting this claim, even tho beeing reposted here and in other subs over and over again.
The Level of contradiction only rises in prospect of the apparent enlargment of breasts in female patients using Spironolactone.
"Breast enlargement and tenderness may occur in 26% of women at high doses"
is stated on the Wikipedia article on Spironolactone ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spironolactone ) and an article is linked as source ( https://www.eurekaselect.com/article/128779 ) that i sadly couldnt access.
As seen in Spironolactone, its extremely unclear what exactly contributes to breast development. Contradicting or unfounded claims seem to rule over general discussion about this topic, but from what i found, Spironolactone does not decrease breast size.
Even though it is agreed upon that lowering Testosterone is crucial for feminization (like breast development), i could not find any rescources to where the Testosterone levels should go. There doesnt even seem to be a general understanding how testosterone exactly influences breast development, the general consensus seemingly beeing that testosterone levels should be low with no exact point where to go, though it is advised to reach the "normal" female level of "testosterone 30 – 100 ng/dl; E2 <200 pg/ml" as stated in "The Practical Guidelines for Transgender Hormone Treatment" https://www.bumc.bu.edu/endo/clinics/transgender-medicine/guidelines/
For many Lowering Testosterone by Estradiol Monotherapy seems to work better and decreases intake of different medications, which is generally preferably, not only in hrt. In order to supress testosterone with exclusively with estradiol, estradiol levels starting form around 200pg/mL are needed.
"studies in cisgender men and transfeminine people have found that estradiol levels of around 200 pg/mL (734 pmol/L) suppress testosterone levels by about 90% on average (to ~50 ng/dL [1.7 nmol/L]), while estradiol levels of around 500 pg/mL (1,840 pmol/L) suppress testosterone levels by about 95% on average (to ~20–30 ng/dL [0.7–1.0 nmol/L])" https://transfemscience.org/articles/transfem-intro/ (Under Gonadal Suppresion)
Current Studies, while limited, suggest there is a higher risk of myocardial infarction (MI), ischemic stroke (IS) and Venous thromboembolism (VTE) ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8907681/ ). A thing i have noticed while reading through this is the lack of differentiation in HRT when it comes to Estradiol monotherapy in direct comparison to the use of Estradiol and an Anti-Androgen (AA), aswell as the way the Estradiol entered the System.
Newer research suggest a increased risked of both MI and VTE in prostate Cancer patients taking AAs ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7473503/ ). Similarly AAs are suspected to increase risk of IS ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6675721/ ). There is also another Study that looked at Adverse effects of gender affirming hormonal therapy, in which 22 transfem people were assessed. Only 5 People did not use any kind of Antiandrogen, 3 of which it appeared to have quite mild Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR), with patients recovering from those effects again. The 2 remaining People were both 45 and actively Smoking, one smoking 30 cigarettes a day and dealing with alcoholism, the other one also smoking and having untreated high blood pressure ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9796635/ ).
Obviously more studies are needed but a possible connection between the HRT risks and antiandrogens, with little to no contribution from estradiol is intriguing and could promote a shift to more promotion of montherapy as a safer way to transition.

1. Progesterone

When it comes to Progesterone i have seen mostly People that said it helped them immensly and People that said it stunted their Breast Development.
Alot of Studies suggest that early intake of Progesterone could potentially negatively influence ultimate breast size in female people that also need to take Estrogen because of Development Issues. Generally its advised to wait for 1 - 2 Years of Estrogen Treatment. https://transfemscience.org/articles/progestogens-early-exposure-breast-dev/
No proper evidence supports or dismisses a positive effect of Progesterone, aswell as timing and amount incase of usage.

1. GH / IGH-1

Insulinlike Growth Factor 1 or IGH-1 play a big role in childhood growth, aswell as in breast development and peak in Puberty. This lead not only me to question if an increase in growth hormone (GH) could help development of proper female body parts.
Aswell as with most stuff, when it comes to studies supporting or dismissing a potential help of GH, there are none i could find.
Because too much GH can have huge negative effects on the body, you shouldnt use any strong GH enhancers.
Naturally human Growth Hormone (hGH) increases through excercise ( https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12797841/ )
Also a variety of differen Aminoacids is supposed to increase hGH levels. These include :

l-carnitine : sadly the longterm effects are unknown ( https://jissn.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12970-020-00377-2 )
creatine : can increase hGH after workout ( https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/25804393/ )

I wouldnt use l-arginine, purely because there is good chance for it to have detremental effects on aging and especially in combination with HRT its hard to tell how the body would react. An increased risk is the potential reward not worth in my Opinion ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7851093/ ).
These CAN be helpfull but HAVE NOT BEEN PROVEN TO HELP. Im just trying to share what im finding, please do not throw out all your money for supplements that could may aswell have no effect.
hGH could also be increased by other Factors like decrease of bodyfat ( https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2690428/ ) and generally a more healthy life style (which is adviced in any case ;) )

Sharing your own Experience, specifically with remarks to how Estradiol is beeing taken (intramuscular, oral, transdermal, etc), aswell if Anti-Androgens (and which) are used and if Progesterone (which and time in transition when first beginning treatment with Progesterone) is used. Also weight loss and fat distribution info, aswell as breast development time and state are as important! TL;DR — My girlfriend and I have a great relationship, but I often forget to keep her updated on my plans, especially when they change last minute. This has created issues multiple times. She's expressed concerns, and I've promised to do better but keep slipping up. Last night, I visited at my parents' place longer than planned without letting her know.
She's worried this will worsen when she moves away for law school. I feel terrible for not being able to do something so simple that matters to her. I'm not sure what else to do besides reassure her, which I've done many times. I know she shouldn't put up with this. I want to show her I care. Any advice is appreciated.
Main Post:
My partner (F22) and I (M22) have been together for two years now, have lived together for one. We have an amazing relationship, and have grown so much together. I have fixed other things that have been brought to my attention by her easily, but this one in particular has been the only one to be the one to create a bit of a wedge between us throughout these two years: keeping her updated on what I am doing.
When we first started dating, it was the end of our Junior year of college. Things were great! She had to go back home which was four hours away from me, but we would stay in touch long distance and even make the effort to see each other once in a while throughout the Summer. We had a few bumps in this three month Summer break where she would ask me to simply keep her in the loop on what I was doing sometimes throughout the day, which to me is not a big ask, I of course do not mind at all as she does the same for me without asking :-).
Throughout the Summer, I would get really busy, and she brought up concerns as to how there were stretches where my responses to her were short or infrequent and she wasn't sure what was going on with me day-to-day, to which of course I did my best to fix that and address her concerns. Fast forward a bit to us living together right after graduating — things are great! Though sometimes I’ll go visit my parents 10 minutes away and she’ll politely decline which of course is never an issue with me because I always do my best to respect her and her feelings, 100%. When I do visit, I would often say I’d be there for about an hour or so, max, and there have been times where I’d stay an hour or two or maybe even more. My partner would never get upset at me staying there for longer, but she would get upset with me for not updating her in that I didn’t tell her I’d stay more for longer than expected. Instances like this has happened more and more even after I promised I’d keep her in the loop more which is incredibly frustrating for her, that I know and see. Last month it happened again after a long time of us not having talked about it, and I mistakenly over promised and said I’d never do it again after she expressed that this should be something she shouldn’t have to chase me for (of course not — I’m a 22-year-old man who can take care of himself). Long story short, I did it again last night. I really hope I am capturing everything her as much possible! She, after a long day of work, shared that she needed some quiet time before she was getting ready to have a dinner with her friends, so I understood of course and left to do an errand at home with my parents (they picked up my pet which just had been operated on, so I was going to pick him up), which I told her I was going to do. I overstayed my welcome there, after having been going home just to pick up my pet, I stayed an extra two hours as they made some dinner and I caught up with my family — I had not texted her at all, nothing, unfortunately. She was not happy with that — who would be?
She has expressed concerns of this getting worse now that she is moving the furthest she’s ever been from me later this Summer so she could pursue her law degree — and I completely understand why. I try my absolute hardest not to give her an excuse (eg. having ADHD, forgetting easily) and try hard to show her that I am working on it by setting reminders and stuff, but she shares concerns on the fact that she doesn’t know how confident she is that I will keep my word, especially when she’s going to be a plane ride away. I always try to reassure her, but honestly I just feel like such an idiot who doesn’t know how to remember to do such a simple thing of keeping my girlfriend updated. Frankly I am a little nervous as well, but she says she doesn’t understand how this, while in the grand scheme of things, isn’t that big of an issue in terms of “us”, is an issue for me to grasp and correct — to which I am at a loss for words, too. It’s a very simple thing to do, but I cannot seem to remember to do it every time. It is so unbelievably frustrating for me as of course, it’s not at all a big ask, and it makes me feel like such an idiot who doesn’t know how to do simple things. This hurts her, as well of course as it may seem like I am not thinking about her at all or taking he into consideration.
I frankly am not sure what to do about this besides keeping on reassuring her that I will do the best I can to keep her in the loop always, but I’ve said it so many times which shouldn’t have to be done. I know she shouldn’t have to put up with this and would completely understand if she would break up with me for this, but I truly want to show her that I care for her in this regard — I guess at this point it’s a vent post, but I’m wondering if anyone’s ever been through a scenario like this? This may seem a little silly, but please feel free to share what you all think. I hope I’m not an AH, but if I am, please tell me as I don’t want to be one to her as she seriously means the world to me and is my best friend. Thank you all :-).

Is this a valid chargeback reason?
I recently stayed in a budget hotel, and in the morning my partner and I were heading down the elevator when we noticed they had a pretty basic breakfast bar right off the entrance. There were no signs, and given the way it was set up and the free flow of people in and out, we assumed it was complementary. So we both grabbed a muffin and coffee and sat down. Only 15 min after we had sat down an employee comes up and demands we pay $19/each for breakfast. I was shocked, not only at the price for the "breakfast", but that it was a paid breakfast to begin with, given the way it was set up and reasons listed before. I tried to explain the situation but the hotel wasn't having it.
It felt like such a bait and switch. Like how could a reasonable person NOT assume that it was complementary? After getting nowhere with the hotel, I decided to initiate a chargeback based on misrepresentation (Visa Code 13.5).
Today, Wells Fargo called me back to say they're denying my chargeback, that it's not a valid reason. But I believe that it is, and falls under misrepresentation (Visa Code 13.5). I then asked Wells Fargo a hypothetical scenario - If there had been a bowl of mints near the entrance, and only after guests take one, the hotel demands $100 for each mint, would Wells Fargo side with the hotel? And Wells Fargo told me yes. So that's that.
Am I in the wrong here? I feel bamboozled, hoodwinked, led astray...

What got done today: Content Creation:

• I posted my first reel on Insta/Facebook! - It was quite the rollercoaster of emotions and anxiety. Although it was a success, it was far from smooth.
  • First, I realized that I cannot use my YouTube video because reels come in a different size and it looked very choppy. So I scrambled and changed the formatting in Canva. It. Was. Not. Fun.
  • When I finally got it ready and figured out how to post the reel, I posted it to FB and Insta only to realize I forgot to add the hashtags. I was able to update the caption in one platform, but for the other I had to delete the video and repost.
  • Overall there was good reception to my brand launch and I saw family and friends repost the video.
• I worked on my reel for tomorrow, which is a short reel (about 15 secs). I went back and forth about creating a longer and comprehensive video, but sided to maintain my plan to alternate between long, short, long, short…

• FB Link: Still no update on the broken Facebook link on the website. I followed up on Fiverr.
• Email Campaign: the good news is that MailChimp offers free emails under the free version. The bad news is that there is no automation. I looked into other providers but they seem to have a pay wall as well. I figured that I’ll use MailChimp for now until my email list gets bigger. I'll send out a weekly email.
  • I started working on a template. I will include a feature of the week, a survey, and perhaps one of our social media posts. What else should I include?

Insights:

• On a podcast about growing one’s business, the presenter suggested that I reach out to “micro-bloggers” for two purposes: 1) product review that could be shared in their channel or 2) a formal business partnership.
  • It got me thinking about the review route. If I reach out to 100 micro-bloggers/influencers to introduce them to MYNDER and if on average these folks spread awareness to just 10 people, then I’ll reach 10% of my goal. I will be thinking more about this plan.
• I saw a post on Reddit about Product Hunt. The post questioned the usefulness of Product Hunt, which has me rethinking this platform. I had created a campaign there but didn’t formally “Submit”. I need to do research on the ROI on this.

Tl;dr: bought a “trade-in” e-bike from a well-regarded local bike shop, they didn’t tell me the battery key was missing, bike can’t be charged without the key, what do? See questions at end of post.
Last Saturday, I purchased a used Breezer from a local bike shop and love it. I was so pleased to find a trade-in for about 40% off retail. The employees helping me mounted a new seat for me (seat on it had a gouge/gash) and gave me a discount on the basket and seat I bought new. They said that I’d have free tune-ups at 30 and 90 days. I figured used bike = no warranty so I didn’t ask any questions about that.
Lo and behold when we got home, there was no battery key in the box with the charger. I called the shop and let them know we didn’t see a key in the box. Employee said, “oh, sorry about that, let me look around and I’ll call you back.”
I hadn’t heard anything back from them after three full business days, so I called the shop today to ask. It turns out the reason the former owner traded it in was because they lost the key. But no one told me that when I bought the dang thing! I told the employee that it would have been nice to know BEFORE I bought the bike, because that might have changed my decision! I said that I wanted them to cover the cost of having a locksmith pick it/make a key for me. The employee said he’d call the owner and give me a call back.
While I waited, I did some digging through the one- and two-star ratings on the shop’s reviews on Google and Yelp. One of the google reviews was pretty sharp and mentioned that one of the owners had contacted them multiple times to take down their one-star review. All of the shop’s responses to reviews (even the negative reviews) were professional and polite - none of the shitty answers that some business owners post. So I’m alternating between “oh hell what kind of response am I going to get to this request” and “I’m sure it will be fine”. And throw in some self-recriminations “why the hell didn’t I check the charging box!!”
The owner called back this afternoon but his call went directly to VM courtesy of Silence Unknown Callers. I’m calling him back in the morning with my husband (who was at the shop with me when I bought the bike). I wasn’t going to call the guy back today because I am still new at this job and don’t want to make personal calls in the middle of a cube farm.
Additional info: I’ve ridden it multiple times instead of driving and it is a dream. It had 767 miles on it and had a full charge when I left the shop on Saturday. Handle covers were a little grungy but that’s no big deal - those can easily be replaced. I’m not going to ask if I’m justified in being angry that this shop sold me a $2k ebike with NO way to charge it without telling me as much, because what the hell, that’s like selling me a car that I can’t ever refill with gas.
So. Point of my post is: Would you rather return the bike (remember this was about 40% off retail new price) or have a locksmith help? How much should I plan to pay to have a locksmith deal with this? I’ve never had to deal with a locksmith - any tips or info to help me be ready?
