121st Lunar Cycle- The darkness hasn't grown any more comforting after all of these cycles. Only the shine from distant stars brings me any joy, but even this is slowly fading away. I don't understand why I'm not dead. Most beings would've perished in this vast void without proper protection. Even fewer would've survived without any sustenance. So why am I still alive? Am I truly alive, or have I simply entered my final dream?
122nd Lunar Cycle- Another dream has befallen me. The planet the dream took place on was frigid, even making the vast void seem warm in comparison. I saw three people walk through the frozen waste before they came across a man with purple hair. I couldn't understand their conversation, but it seemed the man with purple hair was trying to convince the three travelers of something. Before I could see their reactions, the dream soon ended. What was that place? Who were those people? Why did I recognize one of them?
123rd Lunar Cycle- My heart is beating fast, possibly out of surprise at my latest dream. Like always, I seemed to be a fly on the wall, an audience member of this strange opera before me. This dream started in an elevator, and in front of me was a finely dressed woman. She seemed to be playing the air around her, acting like she had some sort of instrument. Her humming is seared into my brain, and I can't help but feel nostalgic. That's what I'm surprised about. Why do I know that song?
133rd Lunar Cycle- Forgive me. I haven't written much down due to a strange series of events that have happened to me. I awoke from my usual slumber a few cycles ago, but I wasn't met with the vast void. Instead, I was met with a warm interior and a woman with red hair looking over me. She looked so familiar, but also so different at the same time. The same could be said for the interior of the space I was in. I didn't know why, but I immediately knew it was some sort of train, despite never seeing one before. Perhaps I saw it in a dream. The woman introduced herself as Himeko, saying that they found me floating in the void and brought me aboard this train known as the Astral Express. She also said they were Trailblazers, a term that was familiar but also foreign to me. For now, I'm free to stay aboard the Express.
134th Lunar Cycle- So many questions linger in my mind. These people look familiar to me, so I'm sure I've dreamt about them before, but they still seem so foreign to me. The only exception is a man aboard the Express who calls himself Welt. He seems almost too familiar to me, which puzzles me to my very core. The other exception is another passenger aboard the Express with gray hair. They haven't spoken to me, which I don't mind. Despite this, I seem to know a lot about them. They seem almost like me in a sense, a being that could possibly be both alive and dead at the same time. I'll need to do some thinking.

Hello there, everyone! I've recently gotten addicted to Honkai: Star Rail, which led to me making this post in order to scratch my itch for this series! In this prompt, I'll be playing a mysterious and possibly paradoxical being that was found adrift in space who has dreams that show him things he should have no idea about. Due to his paradoxical nature and not really knowing anything about his own past, he is currently unnamed but is in the process of thinking of one! I can't give any more details since I want everything to come out over the course of the story!
Now, let's go ahead and talk about characters! In Honkai: Star Rail, there are a variety of characters people can choose from! As you probably guessed, you can choose some of them as well for this roleplay! Perhaps you'll go with the good doctor of the Underworld who goes by the name Natasha? Maybe you have an itch for the lovely Stellaron Hunter known as Kafka? Or perhaps you want to explore the paradoxes of my character using the finely aged Welt? These are just a few examples, but all of the adult characters in Honkai: Star Rail are allowed! OCs are also permitted, as long as they fit the setting.

So I worked with her for a couple years. Nothing happened, but we always got along along well. Eventually one of us left that job, and we traded info before saying bye. We got to messaging (I know, I know, but I wasn't even sure she wanted to get together, and she's a big messaging type, anyway) and pretty soon we talked our way into acknowledging we both wanted an ongoing casual thing with absolutely no strings. HHH, right? So we made very quick plans for her to come over and potentially stay over. She came over the next night, wine in hand, and it went just about perfect. Didn't even watch a movie as we planned since we were talking and laughing for hours. Naturally cuddled up midconversation. Casually kissed her at one point and went back to talking. Pretty soon, doing little talking. We took our time, too. Did almost everything, but we'd agreed on a red line of "No matter what, no full hooking up the first hangout." Fine with me. We enjoyed each other extensively, anyway. Had some similar semifreaky interests, too. When we finished, she stayed over, and we slept either with her on my shoulder or me spooning her, alternating all night. Morning, we had a little more fun, but she had to go quickly. Nothing was awkward. We still made time for some of that morning fun. We parted ways with some flirty words about how it went and about the future.
That night, I messaged her that it was great our interests meshed so well and I couldn't wait for next time. Left on Read.

Today I’d like to talk about greed, see we can all agree that corporations by and large exist for the sole purpose of extracting your hard earned funds from your pretty little pockets in the sleaziest ways possible. In the worst scenarios as far as video games go, we have seen corporations leverage aggressive monetization schemes that closely mirror gambling in the form of loot boxes, or developers will lock significant content required to advance the game behind expensive paywalls.
Now, that being said, can we stop pretending that Multiversus is doing anything even remotely similar. Not only is there free access to premium currency, for both the cosmetic section, and the fighter section there was clearly a lot of work put into other aspects which are being neglected.
The Net-Code appears to be fixed, no more rubber-banding or getting hit early or late unless you’re the problem, and I say that as someone who lives in the literal middle of nowhere.
There’s start up lag and whiff lag which makes reads more viable, as well as the addition of parrying, so we see a lot more dynamic play potential with those additions. Punishing is consistent, and dodging doesn’t feel as oppressive or free as it did before which ultimately makes things feel more fair especially in terms of neutral play.
The slower pace isn’t a bad thing, I think once you’ve got a grasp on a character the movement starts to flow more naturally, and every character is equipped with ways to continue combos and chase enemies.
Some people are complaining about the zoom affecting their ability to see bars or keep projectiles like Jerry in sight. You shouldn’t be walking across the map with someone in Jason’s bag, or held in Jake’s stomach, you should have a clear idea of what’s next, and where your combo is going, hence my assertion that sometimes I don’t think the game is slow, instead it seems players are. As for Tom and Kamikaze Jerry players, from a technical standpoint, it doesn’t feel like you’re supposed to be launching Jerry across everything on the map, he plays close by design, and he’s great for shutting down enemies in the air, you’re missing your shots if he’s out of your line of sight. Imagine if you were playing the Ice Climbers by killing one every time, that’s dumb and it’s not the developers fault if you’re playing that way.
Then on top of all that, they added single player content that’s meant to give less competitive players something they can enjoy without feeling pressure. It’s got a story, mini-games that increase in difficulty as you progress, boss fights, unique interactions, and animated cutscenes, all of which give you more access to more stuff.
Moving along to less important more dope things,
The character models are all polished and look really good, there’s a lot of love that went into the design of these models and it shows. Jason fits the art style strangely well, and his kit is one of the most fun in the game to date while still staying thematically consistent with his source material. The Batman Who Laughs, and the Killing Joke skins are both really genuinely great, not to mention this will ostensibly be Mark Hamill’s last Joker performance in honor of Kevin Conroy. So, looking at those two facts alone, Player’s First took Jason from the terrible development hell he was in and brought him to his first appearance in a video game in years that doesn’t have to lamp-shade him, and they reunited two of the most iconic characters in comic book history voiced by arguably the most legitimate and well known people to portray said characters.
Dexter’s Lab is beautiful, and it plays like a dream, the moving map, and the changing hazards are a work of art. Townsville and MoJoJoJo are so much fun as well, and I haven’t heard anyone really mention any positive things about the tangible ways Player’s First listened to feedback and expanded on what was already a fun experience.
And they did all that, and they gave it to you for free, if you supported them in the beta, they’re essentially giving you a free character, free access to all future battle passes, and cosmetics which contribute to your prestige points so you can get more skins and cosmetics for free. And yet somehow people still consider them to be greedy because they’re not giving you 10% of the content which they clearly worked incredibly hard to produce.
We as gamers need to step back and look at ourselves because some of you are the most entitled insufferable people on the planet, and you’re going to kill what has the potential to be a genuinely great gaming experience because they wouldn’t give you exactly everything you wanted, just 97% of it.
TLDR: PFG did their jobs, and did well, most of you are what’s wrong with modern gaming.

Nice to meet you, I'm Dylan! To put it simple, I am a single 22 year old person who has been pretty lonely in life and lacking human connection. I've been feeling a little bummed out lately. I always try and stay happy and see the best in things. But.. I've just been so alone. Most of my whole childhood and adult years have been spent feeling lonely. I grew up surrounded by cornfields which was peaceful but also has a lonely aspect to it. My family never really were close and never did anything as a family really. And part of it too is the fact that I never had any neighbors my age to interact with. But aside from that, my adult life has been very lonely. I'm just always by myself. I barely have any meaningful adult relationships or experiences, or even any friends.
I work a 3-11 job in building maintenance at my company world headquarters building which I love, but again it's very lonely. I work the off shift so the building is always empty. I don't get normal social interaction with people my age or a chance to build relationships. I only have 3 older men as co-workers and we are mostly in the basement away from any people on the floors from knowing our existence. I always walk the floors and see office people laughing and chatting with their coworkers and I just don't have that kind of experience. And just.. no one knows I exist really. Everyone probably assumes I have a lot of friends, but I'm struggling inside with being so alone and trying to meet people and get past the "hi how are you?" "I'm good thanks" stage. Most people don't seem to want to talk beyond that. And most women are already in relationships and thus it would seem weird to approach them in an office setting trying to get to know them deeper. But man those "hi how are yous" are the only real interactions I get during my day.. so thus I decided to come here lol. Rant over, sorry! I promise I'm not a downer. 😅
Now for some things about me!
I am left handed which is pretty cool. I'm not much of a party person or a drinker, I much prefer a quiet night at home and maybe a beer or two on a weekend but that's about it. I am simple and stay out of drama and trouble and don't get much into politics or other things that cause drama with people. I much prefer a relaxing campfire and a night at home and to just let the world keep on turning haha.

• Photography
I have a Nikon D200 and D5500 that I love to shoot with. I love nature scenes, abstract, black and white/goth kinda photography, sunsets, etc. it's so fun to just let your mind explore. It's not about what camera you have, but those who are behind the camera!
• Cooking and baking
I loveeee to cook and bake! I enjoy making various meals but also love to just have a frozen pizza once in awhile or something like that. I recently made homemade chili which turned out great. I love to bake, especially in the fall! I love pies, cakes, pastries, cookies, etc. I restored a vintage KitchenAid mixer that needed tbe gearbox rebuilt. Eventually I would love to practice home canning my own food.
• Music
Oh my gosh, I like so much!! Alternative rock, punk, post punk, electronic, synth pop, psychedelic rock, hard rock, etc. I am very non judgemental and open when it comes to music. My three current favorite bands are Type O Negative, Joy Division, and the Cure.
• Nature walks and camping
I really enjoy camping, making fires, and relaxing by a campfire. I love to take walks outside and just enjoy the beauty and simplicity of nature. It's wonderful, especially in a world so focused on everything digital.
• Repairing things
I'm a maintenance guy and one of my hobbies is electronics repair so I am good with my hands and just all around good at troubleshooting and fixing all sorts of things around the house. Last week I helped my elderly neighbor get his tractor started, it needed a new component in the starting circuit. So I'm pretty handy which... Comes in handy! 😂
• Autumn 🍁
This isn't a hobby per say, but man do I love the fall!!! It's my absolute favorite time of the year. Oh my gosh. The beautiful colors, crisp cool air, misty and foggy days, rain, lack of bugs, being cuddled up with a candle or by the fire drinking a tea, etc. I love it! There's only two seasons for me. Fall, and waiting for fall! Haha.
• Scented Candles and incense
Going along with my love for fall, I absolutely love candles! I have like 30 something lol. 😂 Currently my favorite are WoodWick, which are owned by Yankee candle. They have such a soothing crackle and the scents are great! I also love to burn incense from time to time as well. I have cottagecore hippie vibes.
• Old houses and architecture
I love old houses! Especially 1900s and Victorian era homes. Old homes have so much character to them and are just so beautiful from a time when people took pride in their craft. I strongly dislike the modern cookie cutter cheap construction of homes today. I would love to live in an old home one day. I also love their architecture and uniqueness, as well as architecture of old cathedrals and other buildings.
• Relaxing
Basic I know, but sometimes on the weekend I just love to get cozy in bed and relax and put on a YouTube video or an album! 😊

"Good afternoon Ms. Lopez." I say, warmly greeting an elderly Cuban woman in her sixties. She smiles sweetly at me as she asks me if I am the chef behind today's food, in Spanish. I smile and nod at her, and she excitedly begins to chatter in Spanish, telling me the latest chisme regarding the latest romantic escapades occurring in her son's life.
I lightly place some ham on the sandwich I'm preparing for her as she excitedly gossips with me. I cleverly practice my active listening skills, while occasionally chiming in to let her know that I am actively aware of what she's saying. The woman is one of the last people to arrive during today's meal hour. She seems to operate on a sense of punctuality that is uniquely hers, almost like a force of nature. I almost admire it, if I'm being honest. My fellow volunteers look at me and smile as they sense the passive patience I radiate in this minor interaction.
The day has been one of the more chill ones in the soup kitchen, especially since I started actively championing the place. At our most busy we've served hundreds of families in a single day, and today we've served a few dozen. There's something quite nice about this moment of normalcy. I wonder if I sometimes took this level of mundanity for granted during this jump...
To be fair to myself a part of me is almost acting like I'm guaranteed to send myself to some apocalyptic hellscape and that's just not happening. I'm almost guaranteed to go to a place more dangerous than "9-5; a white-collar simulator", but I'm picking my next destination and after the decade of serenity I've had here I've got no reason to act like a dumbass and jeopardize my odds of long-term success in this career by sending myself to a death trap. Ms. Lopez smiles as she walks away, clearly believing she's shared vital chisme with me. To be fair, she did share gossip plenty of people would find juicy, but since I'm not some gossip I was the wrong audience for her words.
My fellow volunteers look at me and glance at my phone with curious looks. I pick up the thing and see that I've been missing an exhilarating conversation in our group chat. I skim the thing, my perfected memory allowing me to instantly catch up with the conversation the small gaggle of brave volunteers who kindly donate our weekend hours have been having before I begin to text the group back.
The rest of the day passes by in a blur. We wait for the people who've come for a meal to finish their food up and then we get to cleaning. After that we do a few sweeps of the parts of the church we've used before going our separate ways. I make my way home, and I do some light meal-prepping as well as practice a few more of my skills. At this point in my stay I've perfected my routine and could do it in my sleep... If I ever slept that is. In the entire time I've been in this setting I don't believe I've slept once. That is a nice feeling, since it means I never wasted an hour of my time, much less six.
The work week is a bit of a slog, since I am eagerly anticipating the news regarding my final promotion. I was never the sort to believe that time felt longer when you were excited about something, or dreading it, but in the time since I came to this setting I've gradually become a believer in such ideas even if they still feel a bit silly. Nonetheless. I diligently work through the week, keep my team on track, and when Friday rolls around I get the news I've waited for.
Thanks to "Gamer's Mind" I am able to keep my face even as the office's general supervisor explains this news to me and not outwardly express my excitement, but internally I am more excited than I've been about anything since I first entered this world. This news means that I'll be getting right around $3,000 dollars every two weeks just for existing! This means that in future jumps working will be optional unless I get really greedy, which frees me up to decide what I want to do in most modern settings. In medieval settings this amount of money could be even more vital, though at the same time such a thing could just... not matter, since in such a setting I could easily just avoid civilization, but this money will certainly liberate me from a lot of the struggles of wasting vast swathes of a jump at a job I don't want.
At the time that I was being told the good news I almost began to cry. Thank goodness for Gamer's Mind, I guess.
Nine years ago I was down on my luck and down to my last dollars when I got the job offer that led me here and this news means that I am free from such things. The freedom and power that comes with making enough to get by, especially passively, is awe-inspiring, and it's quite difficult for me to find the words to express how excited it makes me feel even days after it. I spend... close to a week passively smiling and being just ambiently happy, as I begin to integrate a new set of responsibilities into my work life.
During this time my decision to fix the coffee machine in the office break-room by hand after it almost burns a colleague results in me getting a new class; "Handyman" and the initial ability I receive is a simple one that bolsters my agility a touch, agility being my attribute tied to fine motor skills. I skillfully use this class to actually fix various things by hand, and I begin to steadily accrue various maintenance skills. In days I gain class levels, and with each class level I am able to repair things faster, more cheaply, and eventually my ability to fix matures into an ability to improve things, which I instinctively know will lead to some shenanigans down the line. Before I know it days have turned into weeks, which age and turn into months. My skills with leadership and motivation have continued to improve and I lead my team with my full focus and skillful decision-making. Before I know it I am in the final leg of the final stretch of my first jump.
I've been here for 119 months. Nine years and eleven months. It's actually been... even longer than that. I'm at the beginning of the final week of my stay here, and my hands idly clean a dish as I passively listen to Pastor Charlie, one of the few guest pastors the church has invited in years deliver a sermon. He has the congregants enraptured and eating out of the palm of his hand as he speaks about a miracle that "Our Lord" once performed. His voice is a pleasant distraction and one of my twin trains of thought listens and takes notes on how the man delivers his sermon. Physically I seem to be engrossed in the man's sermon when someone, one of the church's assistants, taps on my shoulder and gestures for me to walk over to the pastor's office. I stealthy get up, activating "Rogue" and make my way out of the serving area adjacent to the kitchen. I relax a touch when I'm in the long hallway leading me to Tyler's, Pastor Rhodes's, office.
As I walk down the humble hallway I feel a strange sense of finality wash over me. There's something uncommonly... real about this trek. I feel more solid, more whole than I have in a while, and I suspect that it's because this is my last time in this soup kitchen, this church. I won't be returning here, at least not for a while, and that's sad. It's not the saddest thing that's ever happened to me, but it is kind of a bummer and I allow myself to feel a touch of real, genuine sadness at the sobering realization that when I leave this place I'll be leaving for a long time.
I eventually put that thought away, shelving it and compartmentalizing my thoughts so I can focus on better, happier things. My enhanced senses allow me to spot things like faint cracks too thin for normal humans to spot, and as I walk past them I cast my handy spell on them. I watch as the walls of the hallway repair themselves and I smile, sensing the powerful potential of the spell at my fingertips. I reach the office of the man I've spent plenty of weekends working alongside, and under, and I smile, even internally, when he looks up and spots me. He greets me with a smile and motions for me to sit down. When I do what he asks, he immediately begins to speak.
"Lucas, I apologize for calling out to you but I wanted to check in. Today you seemed... Out of it." The man exclaims, and judging from the way my heart jumps in my chest I realize that some people are just.... more intuitive than others. My acting skill gets a nice little load of experience when I mask my reaction to his words and let out a small, natural sounding laugh in response to his question.
"Tyler," I begin, causing the man to wince. I'm an atheist, or at least I was pre-chain, now... well, now I'm a lot more curious about religion than I was before. I'm not sure if gods exist, but I sure as shit know the supernatural does and I'm not in the business of denying what I can see. I've made my vague religious position clear to the man long ago so he insists I call him "Tyler" which I've personally always found a bit awkward, but there's something a little funny about how it disarms him so cleanly during this interaction. "I'm doing... Okay. I AM bummed I won't be here next week." I state, calmly. This causes my friend's eyes to widen in surprise.
"You're missing a week? I'm sure some of our regulars will be disappointed. Is everything alright?" The man asks. His question is so sincere, so genuine that it's mildly disarming.
I'm... not a nice person. I'm far from mean, sure, but I've come to accept that there's a core of kindness in some people, even in many people, and I am not someone who has that core, that central, unconscious, guiding light that moves them towards kindness with the ease and naturalness of a heartbeat. At my core rests something else, something I don't know if I can articulate in just a few words.
I wouldn't say I'm mean or anything like that but I'm far more cynical than a lot of the people I've met are. In this world, especially, it seems like a lot of people are just decent at heart and I suspect that that was and is the case in the world I was born on as well. Tyler is one of the people I've met whose central guiding light seems to be centered around decency and kindness and I think in any world the man could find himself in he'd strive to be kind. It's almost like interacting with a real version of Ned Flanders from The Simpsons...
"I'm okay. I'm gonna be doing other stuff, and I normally prioritize the soup kitchen over my work or social life," I state, and this isn't a flex it's simply a very true statement. Tyler hears the remark and smiles faintly. "But I've been asked to help out with other stuff from friends who wouldn't ask if it wasn't something they really felt they could handle alone. I'm just gonna miss one weekend, and then I'll be back." I remark, and Tyler smiles at me.
"Okay Lucas. If you need any help you'd ask, right?" Tyler asks, and I consider the question. This is only somewhat an act, as I don't know if I'd ask for help if I needed it. I ultimately nod at the man and I can sense a touch of sadness as he studies my response, which I don't love but I also don't really feel right lying anymore than is necessary. The man makes some small talk and I quickly breeze through it. In minutes I am back in the kitchen with the others. And minutes after that I am cleaning with my fellow volunteers. Almost before I know it I'm stepping out of the church after we've cleaned out the kitchen. I glance at it one last time before I make my way home.
The next few days pass by in a blur, with only two minor oddities; the first being that I ask Hannah to come out with me on Friday night. I have got to see if I can stomach the idea of any sort of romance in a jump, and this is a consequence free way for me to do something along those lines. The second oddity is that I spend nearly all of my money purchasing... well, everything. Every night after work I go to various stores and spend the money that I really haven't needed all that much until now, purchasing things like weapons, food, and especially books. I buy boatloads of books, both ready and willing to use up something I won't be able to take with me into future jumps anyway in exchange for stuff I CAN take with me, thanks to the fiat-backed power of an infinite inventory.
The work week is, aside from what I do after work every night, pretty normal but Friday itself is weirdly solemn. The day passes by as quickly as any other day has, filled with minor encounters with glitches, and a few more annoyances with my small number of drawbacks but when five rolls around I clock out one last time and give the office a final look. I am weirdly slow when it comes to getting up and leaving my cubicle, in fact I'm actually one of the last office workers to leave the office but as I step out of the building I experience another burst of gratitude to Gamer's Mind, which keeps me from acting odd or even tearing up as I glance back at the place I've spent thousands of hours in.
I allow myself a beat to... honestly, grieve. I tell myself that it's okay to have feelings about leaving, even if those feelings are big and weird and are not the most fun. Nonetheless I don't linger here, at my place of employment, I have other things I both need and want to do. I use my inventory and change into a pretty casual outfit before I begin a brief walk. _________________________________________________________________________
​The park beside the office building is a rare example of a pristine location in the city. It is filled with natural greenery, and at the moment a stunningly pretty redhead glances at her phone waiting for someone to pop into view.
The redhead is wearing a pleasant looking dress and a jacket, as the weather is just beginning to take the seasonal turn towards the unpleasant. It's still warm enough that the clothes are mostly unnecessary but as she waits for her friend, a young man who has finally gotten the courage to ask her out on something vaguely approximating a date, she appreciates the wisdom of her decision to wear the slightly warmer than necessary clothes.
Her "date", mostly in her eyes though he is aware of her feelings and a part of him feels some happiness in the idea that this is a date, enters the park and spots her before she spots him. He reaches into his inventory and he retrieves something, a nice little bouquet he purchased earlier today and safely stored away. The flowers, prettily packed and all, appear as he walks towards the young woman.
Lucas is testing the waters here. He isn't testing the waters with Hannah specifically, but rather what it feels like to go on a date as a jumper. He has long had strange feelings about this, but he knows that he is going to leave tomorrow and so he wants to see if he can enjoy a date as a jumper, so he is doing a scientific experiment even if he feels... less than great about some aspects of all of this.
"Hannah!" Lucas says, calling out to one of his first, in fact one of his only, real friends in this world. The redhead excitedly turns and spots her longtime friend, waving at him and waving him over. She spots the bouquet and lets out a delighted sounding laugh, and when Lucas hears it the smile that alights his features is heartwarming.
In his day to day life some facets of Lucas's charisma-heavy build only rarely surface in ways that matter and his looks tends to be one such thing He is attractive enough that his looks can captivate and reside in one's imagination for a while after they first meet him, but right now, this early on along his chain his looks are only enough to make people have schoolgirl crushes on him and people can and do get used to his looks after a while. Still, in some moments this is enough to color the impression he makes on people. Right now, in a romantic context, his supernatural attractiveness is enough to change the sort of impression he makes on someone.
The handsome actor reaches his friend and sits down next to her. He hands her the flowers and for a moment a strange serenity washes over the two as they enjoy each other's company. Lucas looks inward and he realizes that he genuinely, well and truly, likes this moment. Hannah looks at him and eventually asks an important question.
"Lucas... how am I gonna hold these flowers?" She asks, and this makes him smile. He is quick to offer her a response.
"I'll take them when we get going but I saw them and I thought of you. I felt like I'd regret it if I didn't give you these." He says, and there is an odd, for him, level of sincerity and genuineness in his voice that makes Hannah giggle girlishly. Lucas right now is relying on his perk-enhanced instincts and the charisma he has honed through social encounters for the last decade, and he's enjoying how it feels.
Both of the figures on the "Date", though neither of them officially dubbed it that, enjoy the moment. Their passive delight and infatuation create an envy-inducing atmosphere of closeness and quiet joy that radiates outward. The park is nearly abandoned so there is no one to witness this moment other than Lucas's benefactor, and Lucas is simply at peace.
Eventually he lightly touches Hannah's hand, and asks her if she'd like to go and get dinner before they go to the movie they agreed on going to watch earlier this week. Hannah agrees, handing Lucas the bouquet and he, to her surprise, puts it in the bag he has on his person. When she asks if that will squish or hurt the flowers Lucas tells her, with a bizarre amount of confidence, that it won't. She eventually accepts this, having learned to trust that Lucas knows what he is doing, and the two of them begin a short walk to a mall they both know well.

I'm looking for an old Christian film that I remember seeing as a kid. While I was looking for this movie, I came across an already solved post for a very similar film called "Without Reservation" (1989). I'm 99% sure I actually saw that movie when I was a kid. My grandmother had cable, and I recall seeing some movies like this on one of the Christian channels. Always stuck with me.
I think I might have actually been remembering two very similar movies, and my memories were merging them into one... That or my memories are just not all that great anymore. I remember a lot of the details of "Without Reservation", but there are details that simply do not match it at all. I definitely feel like I saw another film with an incredibly similar concept... Teens or young adults in a car crash, in the judgement line, but in this version, I remember MUCH different details...
The driver was, I think speeding, and that caused the accident. I am not entirely certain on that memory, but it feels right. I feel like the computer was MUCH older... Looked like late 70s or early 80s, might have even been a terminal, and not a proper computer. I recall one character in the film saying that they thought Heaven was supposed to have a Book of Life, to which the angel responds with something like "We always have the best stuff in Heaven. Someone from ancient times might see a scroll, someone from years past might see a book of names, and you... You see a computer". This really stuck with me strongly, cause the computer was already quite dated, and I've always been a computer nerd, so the angel calling that thing the latest and greatest had me chuckling. The computer in "Without Reservation" didn't feel nearly as old. I also am somewhat unsure on this (could be bad memory), but I feel like the view of the Computer of Life and of the judgement line was set at a possibly wider angle, and I'm unsure of the gender of the person depicting the angel. My memory is foggy on that, but I don't feel like it was a deep voiced man like was in "Without Reservation".
The premise of the film I feel like I am remembering and "Without Reservation" both feel very similar... The kids are judged for their faith and sins... I always felt it might have had a Catholic lean... Not 100% sure on that detail. "Without Reservation" focuses purely on the faith... did the kids believe or not. I feel like this film delved more into the aspect of whether they carried unforgiven sins. I also have a memory of two particular bits... The driver was found to have "died in sin" because he was disobeying the posted speed limit, which while a law of man, is still law given authority by God to the rulers of nations. That, and his recklessness murdered himself and his friends. I think I'm remembering that detail right. I hope... The second thing, and what really hit, was the person who was saved noted that they didn't feel sorrow over the friends who's souls were not saved. I think the angel informed the one person that in heaven, there are no tears, and they would not be burdened with such pain. It was such a gut punch line for a kid...
If anyone has ANY idea what film I think I saw, I'd love to know. It's been such a prominent memory, and I think my 3 decades since seeing it probably melted it in with my memories of "Without Reservation"... Or maybe I dreamed it... I dunno.
Either way, I hope someone can tell me I'm not imagining things! Heh.
And just to reiterate... I literally just watched a copy of "Without Reservation" on Youtube, and I can verify that very key elements of the movie I recall are NOT found in that movie. I'm certain I either imagined this, or that it's actually a separate film. The dialog about the computer, the idea of speeding, and the bit about not feeling sorrow in heaven were all prominent memories that stuck with me, and they are definitely not in "Without Reservation". I feel convinced this was another similar film, probably older... Or my memories are all jumbled...

I am in a relationship with a wonderful woman. She is super hard working & takes care of her single mom & grandma financially even though she is just 22. I am proud of her. I admire her.
We've been dating for over 10 months now. For the first 9 months, there were no fights & no conflict. But recently, I went on a long trip and we couldn't meet for 6 weeks. When I returned, we had to constantly cancel our plans to meet for strange reasons. She is the kind of person who doesn't ask questions that often & we don't have deep talks which I feel is very important to form a good bond. So when we didn't meet for two months, I started losing patience. I wanted to talk to her properly, which could only happen if we met in person.
She wouldn't call me by herself, and in my heart, I know that's because she isn't used to calling people by herself and she has had past trauma which is causing certain issues in communication. But recently for small reasons, I have been getting really angry at her.
For example, once she sent me a picture of her in a gym and her best friend shirtless. I didn't like it but didn't want to say anything as I felt maybe I was thinking too much so I just sent a thumbs up. Then the next day I saw from my friend's account that she had posted that picture in her Instagram story but I couldn't see it from my profile, because she had hidden it from me. I was already missing her a lot and was frustrated with the lack of communication or affection from her side. And this made me furious. She later explained that she hid me because she knew I didn't like that picture as I had sent a thumbs up. Now, I felt that if she knew I didn't like it, then why not just not post it? Why go through the extra step of hiding me?
I know for sure that nothing is going on between the two but this got into my head. Similar incidents have happened recently. Not big things but I am getting super angry over them and then after a few hours I am like "It wasn't that big of a deal maybe I just shouldn't have gotten angry at her".
Recently when we met, she kept looking at her phone and that was for work purposes but I didn't like it and we fought about that last night.
How do I stop myself from getting angry like that? The communication isn't that good so I just feel a lot of bottled-up frustration and that gets me angry.

My mom got an extremely abnormal text message from a close family friend (I’ll call her Jennifer) at 5AM saying she was leaving to Mexico to see her father and asking her to watch 2 of her 3 children at her home overnight/indefinitely. What’s weird is that:

• The message was all in English which my mom checked and she’d never written to my mom in English. Jennifer posts on Facebook in English sometimes because she’s a runner with many English speaking friends, but I know she speaks Spanish whenever she has the option.
• She never mentioned this to my mom or anyone.
• She’s only ever gone to Mexico once before to be a bridesmaid in a wedding near her father, but never went again after that.
• She doesn’t have the money for this and is typically very frugal. She’s a divorced single mother of 3. 2 of the 3 children have had mental issues, some severe that have cost her a lot to treat.
• She’s estranged from much of her family and her relationship with her ex husband is very poor. She coparents neutrally but he’s shown consistent animosity towards her.
• She hasn’t asked my mom to watch her kids in over 10 years. The two in her home are adults or near adulthood.

I’ve been digging as much as I could and this is what I’ve found from messages to my mom and social media without tipping off her kids that we’re concerned.

• The messages went from long and in English to short and in Spanish. They give surface level context-appropriate info about her family. Just enough to seem like her or someone who she was acquainted with.
• A note was written on her calendar at home saying she’d be back from Mexico in 10 days.
• She dates somewhat actively, but has never brought a man around her kids. However, she has had one man over to the house at some point in the past when her kids were not around.
• She made a Facebook post a day ago. It had a slight grammatical error in English, but seemed to portray her sharing that she’d gone to the zoo with her son for his birthday. However, her daughter told my mother that they’d actually gone on Sunday and he went with his father. Jennifer wasn’t there.

This is the big one for me that I need someone to either confirm my line of thinking on or tell me I’m being dumb…

• She posted a story on her Facebook at the Dallas Fort Worth, Texas airport showing a number of delayed flights, claiming that her flight was delayed as well. The delay times shown in the picture makes sense in our time zone, however that airport is two hours ahead. If the photo was posted right, when it was taken, the times shown for other delayed flights would have already passed in the airport’s time zone.

There’s more but basically everything about this occurrence is abnormal. Nothing is typical of her.
If there’s any chance this is real, what do we do??? I fully intend to call the cops if substantial confirmatory contact isn’t made in the next day or two, but I don’t know how to handle interactions with her children or further text messages that are still being sporadically responded to.
Any and all advice is extremely appreciated. I’m hoping so bad that this isn’t what it feels like but I don’t want to make a wrong move if there’s any chance something bad is happening.

I (40 something divorced male) have been dating a wonderful lady (40 something divorced female) for about 18 months (let's call her "HeckuvaCatch" or "HC" for short).
I have two grade school age kids. HeckuvaCatch has two high schoolers, one of whom has been medically diagnosed BPD (among some other issues) for years (let's call her "Betty").
Relationship is very serious.
Throughout our relationship, we have had very candid, frequent, and high quality communication about a # of serious things, including Betty's BPD.
Betty definitely affects the relationship, but has been relatively easily navigable, largely due to some seriously rock-star parenting / dating skills on part of HeckuvaCatch and very good comms between us. This applies to (1) HC and me, (2) Betty and me, and (3) the three of us.
I have some pretty serious concerns about introducing Betty to my two grade school kids, though.
HC and I have been very slow and deliberate w/ introducing our relationship to the kids' daily lives. My kids and HC's younger kid (none of whom have any mental health issues (so far)) have just met one another and hung out a few times within just the last couple months. My kids and Betty have never met (a deliberate choice by HC and me).
Betty is my first (known) exposure to BPD, so I am new to this and uneducated. Frankly, my gut reaction as a dad is to not let Betty and my kids interact, at all. HC and I have discussed that and she said that, (1) in my shoes she'd feel the same, (2) she sees the real negative impact Betty's situation has had on HER youngest, who can't be insulated from it, and wouldn't want that for my kids and (3) she doesn't have any great ideas, but hopes we can commit to trying to make it all work. The bottom line answer I have given her is that, re: (3), I am "all in" for doing whatever it takes...w/ one uncrossable red line: I can't knowingly hurt my kids for my relationship.
We're in mutual agreement that each of our highest priorities is to our own kids. But, boy, is this getting complicated and just blows at times.

I guess my questions are: (1) are my concerns overblown or founded; and (2) any thoughts on how to navigate?
I appreciate that individuals are unique, expressed BPD is unique, and a unique individuals unique BPD is uniqueness squared. But ANY thoughts would help a dad who wants to do right by his kids and a man who also wants to do right by HC and Betty.

I have this employee named "Greg" I absolutely cannot stand to work with. He's normally fine, but I can't stand to work with him. He doesn't seem to understand there are many ways to do one thing, but because we do something slightly different than Starting Line says to, we are all wrong and should be written up (yes, he is my subordinate and wants to try to write me up... I am a GM). I'm talking things as small as how to do the safe count. Not when, but HOW.
I've worked in tons of different stores. At least 20, between 3 other districts (I moved a lot and have been with Advance long enough I have a 4 for my TM#). Different strokes for different folks, it's never bothered me because no two areas are alike.
This man literally went and printed off every AAP acronym off of Starting Line. He also referred to it earlier as the "Bible of AAP". I haven't seen many folks care about reading the actual SOPs. "Greg" actually went through the store and twisted every nozzle of every bottle facing forward or to the left because that's what the SOP stated. Meanwhile we have POGs we desperately need done. I'm sorry, a POG 4 years out of date takes much more precedent to me. (I took a broken store.)
"Greg" also tried to rearrange the office to redo our paperwork... And just left the boxes on the floor for me to find the next morning when I opened... I've seen GMs fired for less. There was paper stacks and boxes EVERYWHERE!

Historical character and figure

A loyalist living through Japan's Bakumatsu. Born from a country samurai family in Tosa, he deserted his fief, studied under Katsu Kaishu, founded the Kameyama Shachuu (which would later become the Kaientai), intermediated the Satsuma-Choushuu Alliance, and devoted himself to the restoration of imperial rule, overall contributing a lot to the Meiji Restoration. However, his ideals fell to assailant's blade, thus he never got to see the age of Meiji.

Character in Fate/Grand Order

An aloof man on his mid-20s appearance-wise. He may be a master of the Hokushin Ittouryuu, but he’s actually a kindhearted guy who dislikes conflict to his very core. Instead, the mysterious belle by his side will take the lead.
His default Class is Rider, but circumstances lead to this manifestation of him as a Lancer.
This form, in possessing of the Amanosakahoko and one of the Three Knight Classes of the Holy Grail War, is a what-if possibility that Sakamoto Ryouma could have attained, and a Servant powerful enough to uphold the reputation of Hero of the Restoration.
If Sakamoto Ryouma is summoned as Heroic Spirit, he's restricted to only getting either the polearm or the serpent as a Noble Phantasm. That goes to show how much of miracle it is that he is capable of using both.
He is a master of the Hokushin Ittouryuu and his swordsmanship is a force to be reckoned with, but the course he practiced was for the naginata, so the Lancer class is where he can best put his prowess to work. In addition, Super Oryou is bursting with power. Together, they're an invincible Kaientai.

They share mutual respect, with Ryouma acknowledging Takasugi as The Unicorn Prodigy and Takasugi acknowledging Ryouma as the Dragon Soaring the Skies. They also envy each other, believing one has what the other lacks.

Ryouma can't hide his excitement about a rocket that can fly to space. Oryou gets competitive and begins an irregular training regime to fly to space.

I fell in love with a part 2 months ago. We are in an AFAB body that has, among many other things, OCD, limerence, and deep insecurities.

Ever sense our teens. The body is almost 30 now. Why we never realized we were different ppl between the amnesia, dissociation, and personality overhauls beats me. Maybe I thought I was a phase. Really funny and obvious in hindsight.

This is just... Torture. It's literal torture and we're all tired.

So... Falling in love with her meant we had to confront those wounds. Took all of my stength to rise above our mutual depravity.
It was hard, sometimes hilarious, but we actually did it. I taught her real love is when someone respects your consent. There's no such thing as "loving someone so bad you can't resist them", that's what parasites do, not ppl who love you. It made both of us trust me more, because given the chance, i never hurt her.
Apparently , that whole time I didn't realize that I'm not the only one who's afraid of being a monster... So is our shell. Let's call him "Sheller". Sheller is a strange person. I'm a strange person. We get along well now that they realize they're a part too, not a container, or robot. We still do, things are just... Awkward... It's not his fault...
Sometimes I'd blend with Sheller, and they'd struggle to seperate my love for my gf from their own. They're like me in that they don't really feel like a woman either. So we both felt NB. Till he realized he didn't.
This poor dude... Had no idea the can of worms identifying as masculine would open. The dude just wanted to see himself, and when he did, it was a big healing thing to stop feeling like he only existed as our shadow. Truly, nothing is different now, he's just like 8 inches taller, boob-less, and his shoulders are wide. He's just as nice and safe as before, although more afraid of hurting us now.
I tbh didn't mind he thought my gf was cute, cuz she is!!! I trust him , and Of course he likes being around her, she's like sunshine and rainbows, it feels good to feel her joy, and when he blends with her he just fades in the back without thinking. He blends and expresses with everyone, it's his job lol. He also feels genuine joy when I am happy, and he supported and mediated our couple issues, he has and continues to be really supportive of us. He works a job and gets us shit he doesn't care about just cause it makes us happy. But I knew he was always quietly lonely. He loved seeing my gf get scooped up by me, cause she's a part of him too, a part that needs to feel loved and cherished. We all baby her tbh, but he never crossed any boundaries.
But then, this month, he fell in love with our old shell... "Shelley". Shelley had been inside an inner "infirmary" for a bit. She went through... so much for us. Shelley couldn't talk for years after ...And when she was finally discharged with his help... They bonded over the unique trauma of being shells, and being intense and weird. And when I say this dude was down bad, I mean it, he was down bad. Me and my gf are like treble, but they're BASS. Their love was so deep, and inspiring. Me and my gf were so happy, it felt like our awkward and stunted older brother fell in love and was opening up. We were going to have a cool older couple to bond with, and they were both just funny to watch too. We also remember reaching through Shelley, who never knew she was a system, but took care of us somehow even so, so we already cared for her.
My gf was happy for them, but started getting triggered by the glimpses she would see of their intimacy, and it made her think of the things she saw our parents doing by accident. And shed pop up sometimes when Shelley would feel those bright frilly things, and it would confuse her and make her uncomfortable.
She got really upset at Sheller one day and age regressed, telling everyone how uncomfortable it made her feel, pointing fingers and crying. Sheller felt terrible... He apologized profusely to my gf, asked how to make amends, and I did my part to soothe the rift between them too.
My gf felt very ashamed of both her regression and otp reaction, so she apologized for triggering his intrusive thoughts about being a monster again. She realized when she was big again that she was misdirecting anger at our father onto him, because Sheller is actually safe. She said she thinks she just wished she had pointed fingers at our Dad when he did what he did.
I think Shellers reaction to her discomfort was so gracious, kind, and safe... that she realized how much better things would have been for her if our Dad was like Sheller.
So she asked him if he could be her Dad. ... Lmao
He, understandably, insisted he was not stable enough to do that. He has too many intrusive thoughts he was still healing from, and could not risk both his own and her mental stability having even more responsibility on top of what he does. He was also honest that he saw my gf had some weird intrusive thoughts already slipping through and making him further uncomfortable. He said if he didn't share a brain, he would accept in a heartbeat, cause he likes taking care of us. And she accepted that well, but was sad.
She apologized about the intrusive thoughts, but when she thought about it more deeply, she explained she never had a safe male role model who didn't prey on her. That she wishes she had someone who could model familial love for her, and be a safe source of intamacy when she just wanted to be held without worrying it would turn sexual. She said I'm safe, but her attraction to me and mine to her reinforced the blurry lines she has around healthy admiration and sexuality. Me being the one to love her romantically but also hold her while shes age regressed sometimes makes her feel she's still warping those lines. I understand it, cause tbh, Sheller made me feel safe in that way too, but more like a brother.
He maintained his stance but said he already saw her as something like family. She realized it was enough to just know he loved her, and wasn't going to forget about her, and that we could all have family events with games or movies, and that was enough for her to move on happily.
The next day Sheller and Shelley had a beautiful date. They kept it inncoent in case my gfs signal was pulled in by accident. It was, but it wasn't a big deal, they were just dancing. I came out too so my gf felt less awkward. We had a whole evening together the four of us, and it was very fun. We just danced to our fave songs and listened to the rain storm.
My gf actually felt so happy and content. Id dance with her, and she's look over and see Shelley and Sheller laughing at us and waving at her. She was so happy, and felt like she finally had a family. But it was like... Out of nowhere she began spiraling.
She felt like she was going to lose all of us. She felt like she'd do something to mess things up. That her heart was breaking, or someone else's was. She couldn't place where it was coming from. Just heartbreak. Twisting sickening dread. Fear of abandonment. She started pulling back again and we all tried to comfort her to no help.
I switched in to comfort her more easily... But then I felt it too... It was like this depressive miasma... I started having all the same fears. Maybe I was just blending, but it was so confusing
She spent so long trying to understand why she felt this way, and testing different ideas, and now shes having those intrusive sexual attraction to Sheller really high.
Everyone involved feels fucking terrible now.
My gf has become incredibly depressed. She's terrified I'll leave her over this- and yeah, it's pretty disturbing and triggering for me, but I'm not really upset at her. I don't think I want to leave her yet. I mean I have intrusive sexual thoughts too, I've even had them about Sheller myself! But hers are way worse, cause she gets little and sees him as a father figure sometimes, and that must be so 🤢... OCD is like a shark and the more terrible a thought is the harder it tortures you with it.
My gf is trying not to feel suicidal... She's been far away all day... She feels like she will never know peace... Everytime she finally has someone show her love, her body reacts inappropriately, and not only will she lose me, but Sheller will Lose Shelley because he's getting his own intrusive thoughts about my gf, Shelley feels terrible because this all happened when she came along but my gf is afraid Shelley hates her, when she was excited to be yinyang friends with Shelley (who is also cute but more into spooky things).
Me and Shelley feel insecure too, cause like... Sheller is more masc than me and my gf is more femme than Shelley, so we are projecting all the insecurities into it. And what if we're wrong to trust them and they just run off and decide to have some gross fucked up trauma-themed relationship? Idk man, it's so mortifying even talking about it. But I really love both Sheller and my gf still, even with this burning in my chest, and they both are struggling with suicide ideation right now, and its just...
It's a whole ass mess...Our caretaker alt thinks Shelley, (sense she's an old shell) was blending with Sheller or my gf, and we were feeling her emotions, which we know she struggles with. It probably is that tbh. Cause we can barely lock onto Shelley sometimes. We think this is why it's been so weird and we don't even sound normal lately, and our signals are coming from weird angles.
So yeah... That's where we are... I just wanted to vent I guess. Support is welcome. I don't know man... Just feel so tired and embarrassed lol. I just feel like... The only good news is we all have our anger placed in the right direction, not each other. We all understand what's happening isn't more than trauma. It just hurts so damn much ... Ugh... I really some how think we'll get through this... That day was so nice... And I felt so safe and happy... We all did ... And I think that's why we all possibly mutually ruined it lolol.

So I've (39F) been dating a really nice person (50m) july will be a year. In this year he has invited me and my kids to church many time with him and his mother. His mom will not save us (my family) a seat then he will say no your going to sit with us (to his mom).
Well last weekend they have his niece (14f) with them. We get to church shortly after them, they were walking in as we were parking. My boyfriend asked for his mom to save our seats. She only saved one, but we would need 4. When we got to where she was sitting, his mom says i can sit somewhere else as this was a family outing. My boyfriend says no you move down. It's the same song and dance. Then they reluctantly scoot down when done moving, the niece looks right at me gives me a dirty looked followed by an eye roll. This was seen by me and my two kids. I tell my boyfriend we feel like a third wheel and not welcome in the family dynamic. My boyfriend tells me his niece would never do such a thing. My kids and i left, we went to a different church. I've cried myself to sleep every night since. I already have issues and feeling inadequate and not belonging. My boyfriend does a great job on his part to make me feel like i belong. But his mom has had it out for me since day one, she will always say something about my husband. Which i haven't been married to anyone in 3 years. She then goes on a rant about the Bible and how i should still be married and let her son be. This woman wants me to get back with a man who beat on my kids and i for years. now she has her granddaughter treating me like dog crap. I don't want to be disrespected by some little girl who can't have nice clothes because she cuts the shorts till her but and front are showing. Mind you i keep all this to my self on how she dresses. She has no respect for me or my kids. She has stolen from me, so i stated i don't want her left unattended in my house, that was the only thing i had said. This little girl also assaulted me with a salad fork last summer. Like for real stabbed me 6 times this was in December of last year. I feel like i want to just brake things off with my boyfriend because i can't handle this child. My boyfriend and i leave for a vacation here soon, we have been planning since last August everything is paid for as we had saved for this and planned it to a T. Idk if i should just break things off before hand or use this opportunity to let him know what it is doing to my mental state of having to deal with the disrespect from his mom and niece. The rest of the family is great btw.
