2024.05.15 12:59 jkuhn89 SIBO without diarrhea or constipation?

Hi I'm an old hat at SIBO. I have autoimmune neuropathy which caused 4 bouts of hydrogen SIBO as diagnosed by breath test. Rifaxamin helped, but after going ketogenic for a year my SIBO disappeared 3y ago and I havent had it since.
After getting a mouth guard a few weeks ago I suddenly (seem to) have SIBO again. Connection? I think so.
But my question is, has anyone had SIBO without constipation or diarrhea? My stools are quite decent, but I cant seem to eat anything without extreme gas and burping. Doesnt matter what the food is, so I dont think its lactose or gluten issue.
I know people will respond that I need to get a breath test and I will, its just not easy to travel w/ autoimmune neuropathy and I'm quite certain that this is SIBO. I know the feeling well.
I'm just curious if not having diarrhea or constipation points more towards it being hydrogen or methane? I'm assuming hydrogen because I've had it so many times, but the no diarrhea thing throws me for a loop

2024.05.15 12:57 ericammkay New Auto Feeder

I got an automatic feeder yesterday in hopes of stopping the endless 6am crying for me to feed my cat (i have two cats but the other doesn’t cry for food) and predictably today (day 1) she still cried for a solid half an hour. The feeder works fine and still dispensed her food; I set it for 5 am thinking she would not cry after she had a lil snack. When I relented and went over to look, there was still food in the bowl so I have a feeling they didn’t touch it.
How long did it take for your cat or cats to adjust to the new auto feeder as opposed to you doing it yourself? I knew it wouldn’t happen overnight, just curious what people’s experiences are.
Edit: forgot to mention my cats are about 1.5 years old and I have had them for a little over a year.

2024.05.15 12:57 SilverArugula8816 I can’t mask. Why wasn’t I diagnosed earlier? Tw - abuse.

No, genuinely, I can’t mask. Even for my own benefit. I used to have meltdowns in school and at home — used to have food shoved down my throat by my parents because I was “such a picky eater”. Used to get screamed at, dragged. Was obsessed with Lion King, and singing, and twirling, and walking on my tiptoes, and hitting my head rhythmically against the wall.
My parents even received disability benefits for me as a kid. Do you think I ever saw any of that money?
I’ve always been very odd — I can’t relate to people who mention never receiving a diagnosis because they were too good at masking.
Why was I completely neglected and pushed to the side? I don’t get it. And now I have to deal with years of self hatred and undo it all, if I even can. And now I have no friends. I have aspirations but doubts I can achieve them. I’m not stupid.
I don’t get it. I haven’t got family anymore. I’m alone and I just… don’t know why me, or what to do.

2024.05.15 12:56 PurposeMajestic4499 I think I might have shifted during my childhood?

Most of my life I've had this vague memory of what I think was of myself reality shifting. I'm turning 24 this year and I always thought it was just a weird dream. Im now starting to think it actually happened?
The memory is a little vague and the more I get older the fogger it gets so I'm gonna try and explain it as much as I can remember. I was around the ages 3 to 5. I remember being very sick in bed. In the memory my grandmother was trying to help cool the fever by dabbing my head with a warm wet rag. The strange part of the memory it was like I was watching it in a third person view. Then suddenly my consciousness lifted out of the reality. Its hard to explain it. It was like one of those zoom-out transition animations on powerpoint. It was like I came out of the reality and it zoomed out like a movie scene. Then another reality zoomed in which my consciousness went into. In this new reality I wasn't sick at all. My aunt was dressing me up for school. I remember at first being a little confused. I think I just brushed it off or my consciousness accepted the reality? Again, I was like 3 or 4 yrs old. I honestly don't think my brain was mature enough to process the situation.
It's weird because this memory has been in the back of my head as long as I can remember. I always thought it was a weird dream because I tend to remember very bizarre dreams. The strange part is my parents have told me in the past that I would always have alarming fevers when I was little. It hasn't really clicked for me until recently after learning about the multiverse and reality shifting. What If I had actually died from a fever and shifted to another reality?

2024.05.15 12:55 According-Ad4415 Puppy has loose stools

I have a 12 week old GP. Since I brought him home a few weeks ago his stool has been very soft. It will look formed but very, very soft. I discussed it with our Vet and he said to change his food. That didn’t help so we’ve changed it again and he gets a probiotic 3x daily. His current food is Natural Balance puppy limited ingredient salmon and rice. As of this morning it’s basically liquid/applesauce consistency and he’s very gassy. Anyone else had this issue and if so what food worked? Chicken is what he was originally on. He’s eating, drinking, playing, etc. as usual. I’ve submitted a stool sample just waiting on the results.

2024.05.15 12:55 louislat_van How IRCC check foreign experience?

Hello, I used to work in a school around 2016 to 2017, I have my reference letter, paystubs and anual tax form. But I would like to know how they check it? Anyone who can share an experience? I'm just worried the paystubs looks a little bit old since I kept them in a folder back at home and my family took pictures for me. These days they have electronic paystubs which you or anyone you give access with a QR code can check, and I don't want them to think is a fake receipt or something.

2024.05.15 12:51 L8o_n Advise on joining the reserve’s

Hi all, but of background I’m 33 male and have a normal job which is senior technician with BMW which I’ve been doing since leaving school. I’ve 2 children 14 & 7 years old.
I wanted to join the army when I was 18 but girlfriend fell pregnant at the time and felt I shouldn’t leave her and my son until a later date. When I was a teen I was in the local air cadets as something to do on evenings.
I’m now at a place where I feel like I need to give something back and need feel like I have a purpose and it’s not just fixing rich peoples cars everyday so I’m thinking of joining up as a reserve. I’ve no idea just yet or which was to go about any of this, I’ve looked on the army website but it’s a little clunky and hard to navigate to anything certain.
Advice i need is first I’d the reserve a good place to go to get the purpose I desire? Do I first need to tell my current job about this? Or do I join and tell current employer if and when I may need not be there? I live in Sheffield if there’s anyone local that sees this that can give me any pointers or advice.
Also a hard one is having a conversation with my partner about joining, I don’t think she’ll take it well but any experience you’ve had with this I’ll gladly take.
Thank you

2024.05.15 12:49 Inside_Sorbet2959 DAY AFTER TOMORROW - Literally the best Chernarus VANILLA+ Experience on PC - EU Hosted

I'm 15,000 hours deep on dayz, a lot of that on official on console, moved to PC about a year ago, proper fan boy but I struggled to find a server on PC that really gives me that dayz buzz without the cheaters of official. You know, the thing we all fell in love with dayz for, the adrenaline, that knowledge that when you're playing a server with 1 other guy on it and you're still bricking it at Tisy while you find that one magazine you need.
I wanted a server that gave me that buzz, that kept me guessing, wasn't easy, didn't give me all the guns, the food, the armour on a plate and most importantly had the longevity. Vanilla for me is just too plain now, there's nothing to do on a quiet server when its too easy to get geared.
But, I think I have found the ONE. The best Vanilla+ server I've found is DAT (Day After Tomorrow) - it's not too old so the pop is still low but for anyone who is a proper dayz fan boy but wants a little extra, it's quality, the pop doesn't matter when there is always something to keep your attention, to find, to avoid, to shoot.
I've played loads on places like spaggies, zero, basically vanilla, northmens etc etc but none of them hit that mark - either because they're too vanilla and theres no longevity, or they have things like markers, traders, easy food, too many guns, too many types of clothing, ammo, armour or in game maps that make life too easy for the autorunners or just have skyscraper bases and stuff that is just too un-dayz, for me anyway.
The best parts about DAT is the AI, the grind, the underground proper secret squirrel bases and the tiered loot system that doesn't give you everything on a plate, literally took 5 days of solid looting to find the materials to build my tier 1 base, quality stuff and I still have not seen at least 50% of the guns, armour and attachments I know exist - somewhere.
The bad points are the pop being 2/3 during the weekdays, 5/6 in evenings and 8/10 at the weekends, and there are probably a few too many POI's but other than that, it is honestly the best Vanilla plus server I have ever played, it keeps you guessing, gives you things to go 'wow' at all the time and isn't easy to get the best stuff. I'm probably 100 hours in now, in a squad of 3 and haven't seen so many items, still find stuff we didn't know existed and still amazed by the AI, the work that's gone in and the way the admins actually listen to feedback and implement.
Hoping the pop will grow, but honestly even with a few people on, the random AI encounters and the fact the EVERYONE has to keep on their toes looting to grow means interaction is never far away.
FYI, I play the server but not affiliated in any way. Just want more people to know and play on a server that is trying to fill the big void between boring vanilla and the current batch of "vanilla+" servers that just lose that Dayz feel we all fell in love with.
Here's the BLURB:
Please be sure to change your in-game name in either DZSA or the Vanilla launcher, which ever you are using.

2024.05.15 12:48 Alternative-Motor268 Advice needed for first international experience with 2 small kids!!!

I’ve worked abroad pre marriage/kids. This will be my first time bringing my husband (trailing spouse) and 2 small kids to SE Asia. Going to Kuala Lumpur. We are very excited- but also aware it’s not going to be an easy adjustment in the beginning.
Older kid is 4 years old, second kid is 10 months. Baby will be fine, mostly worried about my toddler. Any advice?
For starters, I know it’s not ideal to keep moving. In the past I usually stay at a school for 2-3 years. I would like to stay longer so we can make this new place a home.
4 year old HATES the heat so I’m worried about that. Also loves her life here in our city. Loves her friends, neighbors, family, home… it will be a big adjustment and haven’t broken the news yet.
Please send me any advice, even the smallest will be most appreciated!! Thank you

2024.05.15 12:47 SatisfactionMental21 Stayed in Hyderabad for 2 years

M24, Born and bought up in Ahmedabad. In year 2022, i got placed in one of the big4 & got an opportunity to stay in hyderabad. Recently left my job and moved back to Ahmedabad. Here are my observations :
Positives
  1. South Indian breakfast - Growing up i never really enjoyed dosa & idli. However, they quickly became my go to food once i moved to hyd. It's cheap, tasty and miles healthier compared to fast food options available in ahmedabad.
  2. Pleasant weather - The weather in hyderabad is all-round balanced. Summers are not too hot, winters are not too cold & monsoon is just perfect. (If you feel hyd gets hot in Summer, Ahmedabad is a notch above it :)
  3. Almost all the people i met in my office and outside were quite chill and helpful. Even when cycling around the city and travelling through public transports, i never saw people creating any unwanted nuisance. Everyone were quite civil.
  4. I can't help but notice how passionate south indians are about their local cinema. I met people from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, kerala and everyone were soo drawn to their local cinema & movies. Also I found out that alot my favourite Bollywood movies are actually remakes of south indians movies :(
Negatives
  1. I absolutely cannot stand people celebrating their birthday and anniversaries outside in public. Not only it's batshit stupid but it disturbs public peace. These people will pollute the nearby area and will take no responsibility to clean it. The concerning part is, these are not homeless or poor people. They will come in their expensive cars, will pollute the whole area and will leave without a drop of guilt.
  2. I might be wrong here but, i feel the way hyd police handles the traffic is insane. In my area, Almost all the the u-turns are barricaded. It takes almost 45 mins to go from point A to point B, which naturally should take 10 mins. I don't know what must be done to improve this, I'm sharing what i went through.
  3. Being a vegetarian, i found it hard to find any cheap food places except dosa & idli. Don't get me wrong, i absolutely loved dosa & idlis. However, when i wanted to try something different for a change, either I'm paying premium money for it or I'm travelling to old city, i.e. 20-25 km from where i lived.
  4. Lack of public parks - In ahmedabad, you can easily find 3-4 free public parks in 4 km diameter. No matter where u are, one can easily walk and find a park in matter of minutes. I was surprised to find out, how few public parks are there in hyderabad. On top of that, not all of them are free.
My all-round experience was very pleasant. I went to few treks, made alot of new friends and found my new comfort food, i.e. dosa

2024.05.15 12:45 Late-Let-4221 My (21F) GF (28F) is cheating on me but I am stuck living at her place. What would be a right course of action?

To preface one thing - this is in Singapore, I am half singaporean and half thai, I have no close friends or family members around here, but I study here.
So after many years of dating and many quite one sided and manipulative relationships with guys and after 3 months of being single I finally got into relationship with my GF. First time trying lesbian dynamic. I felt it would be very different, she would understand me more and was less demanding of me and of course less physical and simply more harmonious, since, you know it's a fellow woman.
I was also taking it slow and we had like dozen dates before getting entangled officially couple months ago. She is quite lovely and well educated, slightly older than me, somewhat exotic looking around here and it felt we are becming good friends.
When we finally hooked up she had to guide me a lot because it's indeed quite different dynamic than with a guy but that was fine, I guess and she seemed to even enjoyed and would joke about how I was lesbian virgin and she can shape me to be suited for her. Which I thought at the time was cute.
Long story short I recently finally moved in with her and that was a mistake. I've been at her place most of the time we would hang out because my place was really tiny. Right after I moved in I was just in a span of week introduced to basically a laundry list of chores I should do and at the time I thought alright we pull this together right, but we didn't. After next couple weeks I realised (for the first time ever) that I am doing the same chores I would be doing for my former boyfriends and I started to feel, yet again, more as a maid with benefits. This time I had courage to voice that to my GF and she would apologise and be all sweet about how she didn't realise and that would coo me for another week, but no changes would actually happen. Only now I think it's been manipulative.
Since I am a university student and a "gym bunny" I have less free time than one would expect and suddenly it was filled mostly by coming home doing chores before going to gym and then coming from gym and my GF would be still up and then she would be demanding for attention, mostly in bedroom. This is when I've also noticed that while guiding me in bedroom she never seemed eager to pleasure me in return unless I would specifically ask and so for days I tried not to ask and suddenly it was super one sided bedroom stuff and she seemed perfectly fine with that. That stung because it immedaitelly reminded me of my last 3 boyfriends where it was the same.
I held a lot of this in, trying to keep being disciplined and do all she'd like me to do and chores and everything more and better in hopes of her seeing more value in me. But it simply didn't happen, not over course of two plus weeks.
Well this weekend I was using her ipad, where she always logged off out of all social and communication apps when she wasn't using. I always thought it's a like... internet safety thing in case the device gets hacked or something. But this time her whatsapp and wechat was logged in and I simply discovered that while I am at school and she's "working" from home she's hooking up at least once a week with guys. Or at least mostly with guys I wasn't in the mood to read into too much detail, seeing texts of your presumeably loved sending very intimite and heartfelt texts to guys and reacting to their D pics and sending stuff back... I felt betrayed but so far I haven't said anything and the routine contiues to my own detrement.
From doing gymnastics on higher level for 10+ years I'm used to some discipline and manners that would now be probably consider abuse, but what I learnt from that was to be quiet a lot not to cause conflict and please people. Despite my previous relationships with guys being basically abusive it was eventually always them to dump me, I never had the guts to do it yet (not counting middle school lol). This time I recognize the problem and I would like to end things but at the same time I moved too soon (in hindsight) and have nowhere to go at the moment.
And so for weeks I felt like maid and for 4-5 days now I feel more like bang maid who's also stupid and naive and I couldn't contemplate a good .. like escape plan, that's why I am making this post. In the meanwhile I continue the same old routine unable to almost meet my GF's eyes, yet she seem strangely not noticing any change and looking quite happy. On top of that you probably can guess how I feel being at school, knowing there's a decent change she's out hooking up. It just all crushing my selfesteem yet I feel stuck in the routine and my head.
TLDR: GF is cheating, doesn't know I know, because I am scared to confront her since I have nowhere to go if I'd move out.

2024.05.15 12:44 Apprehensive-Score87 How do I make this financially viable?

I’m 31 years old and about a year and a half ago I had to move back in with my parents and start a new career. I also had to junk my truck and have been riding a bike 10 miles everyday to work, even through the Minnesota winters.
I started working in an office (38k salary) for the first time and at about a year got moved up to management (42k salary). In that year I was able to pay off 9k credit card debt, put the 5% that my company matches into a 401k and 2% into a Roth. I’m working on paying off my last 8k in debt which is mostly school loans.
While I’m working on my debt I’m also trying to save 3k to move into an apartment with my dog and get out of my parents house.
After all of my benefits I take home about $1150 and realistically my rent will be between $1300-$1500 a month. I’ve been renting since I was 18 (in 2011) and I’ve never had so much trouble figuring out how to make just surviving work. Rent will be around 50%-60% of my take home pay. My plan at this point is to join the electricians union once I can get a car but I’m wondering if there’s any way to make my current job work?
Would also appreciate any advice on getting my bosses to pay me more, they’re good people but it’s a small business. They have said they would like to get me up to 50k by the end of the year.

2024.05.15 12:44 ThisAccountMakes5 Should I leave?

I can't believe I'm even considering this, I know the answer already but I think I owe it to my family to get some external thoughts. Because maybe just maybe, I'm blind, or I'm making the wrong decision. This is a long post so settle down with a cup of tea.
An overview of my situation: I separated from my wife, but we live together with our 2 kids, a family friend and her new boyfriend.

In August last year, I discovered my wife had been taking a class B drug (ketamine). I was naturally concerned, she assured me it was for her mental health and she knew what she was doing. And that it was under control. She's not stupid, so I said well ok. But keep it away from the kids.
Over time, I saw changes in her she slept for hours and hours. Then one day, the kids tried to talk to her and she wouldn't wake up. I later discovered this was likely a K hole. I gave her an ultimatum, the drugs or our relationship. She chose the drugs.
Fast forward a little, we live in separate rooms; she basically keeps herself in her room all day except to go out to smoke. Her boyfriend also moved in, who hasn't caused much in the way of issues aside from not contributing to the rent. We agreed on who should pay what to the rent, and she paid double what everyone else did. Over time, the drug use has increased and she now takes a variety of class A and B drugs. I've obviously grown increasingly concerned.
I had, foolishly, assumed that when our relationship ended she would leave. And in fact, at one point, she agreed to, but now she's changed her mind.
She doesn't really bother with the kids, at all. She literally hasn't seen them for over a week. Our family friend does a lot in terms of child care, he will put them to bed if I'm at the gym, and feed them if I'm out or entertain one while the other is out with me etc. The family friend and my kids have a really lovely relationship.
Now here's where the issue is: I got a well paid job, I was absolutely over the moon, it was in the field I got my Master's degree in, in the industry I love, and I was good at it! I made no attempt to hide that I had a job, however I continued to pay half of what my ex-wife paid towards rent. I'd actually been saving the whole time I was working this job, and I chose to use the saved money to take my kids on holiday. This has really, really, annoyed her. And I get why, she feels that it was unfair of me to keep money rather than share. From my side, she pays less than half of her wages, so I feel like, I saved y'know?
My kids welfare is what's important here, so constructive critism is welcomed however hard I may find it to read (I don't need captain hindsight saying I should have used the money for court!)
But here's the personal dilemma I'm facing, she's told me I should move out, without the kids. I'm the primary carer; meaning I do the school run, the food, the groceries, the 6am wake up for football training and I even solo'd my son's 10th birthday party while she was in bed. On the flipside, she earns a lot of money and can afford things like housing and food without me even helping if she had to. I simply couldn't afford to without her.
I feel like, I can't leave because I'm not even sure it's safe for my kids, and all the effort I've put in to get tossed aside feels pretty brutal. But, they love the family friend and my ex has told me that although she can't look after them, her new boyfriend can as can our family friend. Basically I'm torn between: Leave the house that the kids grew up in, with their pets, near good schools in an affluent area, or, take myself out of the equation and leave the kids there. I mean, if I leave maybe she'll come off the drugs? I really don't know what's best for my kids

2024.05.15 12:40 CordCarillo Career opportunity

I'm currently a General Super in Dallas, where I've been with the same company for just over 11 years. Great company, good people, freedom to do my job efficiently, and great money. I've never been passed over for a raise, denied vacation time, or micromanaged. I really planned on this being my last employer.
I'm being offered a position back in my hometown, for 15% more in salary, benefits are comparable, with a 20% lower COL.
The Pros are that I'd be back around people I've known my whole life, including family I rarely see, more money, money will stretch further, same position, and same type of work (education and healthcare). I already own property there, so housing would be simple, and driving/traffic would be much less.
Cons are that I'd be starting anew with a young company (18 years), and the area is smaller and more condensed, meaning that if it's not a fit, I'd end up back in DFW where there's much more work, but starting over with another company. The new company also employs a Super and a Sr.PM from my former 9 year employer who I trained but never really got along with, but who also recommended me for the position.
Other factors are that I also own a home here, I have solid, established relationships with subs, vendors, architects, and engineers. I'd have the same with the new company, but the relationships would require reestablishment.
I've also got an autistic 5 year old grandson who I'm raising, and would have a better support system, but fewer professional resources in the new area.
I'm also 53 and have been in the industry since my sophomore year in high school. I know I'm coming up to a point in another 10-15 years, where I'm going to be looking at finally retiring.
Outside looking in, what do you find to be the wiser move?

2024.05.15 12:40 RightLettuce2166 Looking for info

Hey all
I'm looking for advices here, got quite a few.
I got a 4 years old who hard of hearing, doesn't want to talk yet even if I'm constantly talking/ signing to him. I've tried having him wear hearing aids but he won't even go near it.
I grew up with hearing adults who were clueless and weren't interested in being supportive at home as long as I got every thing I needed at school, kinda an isolating experience. So I'm trying to get him to have a better support than I ever did but really scared as I'm a little clueless myself other than a special education program which is what I went through.
My questions is how do I get my 4 years old to sign and be comfortable wearing his hearing aids?
And my husband is wanting to get him to start school this year, but I don't think he ready but I don't want him to be behind. How do I go about picking a school that best support him? What questions should I ask in regard to his education?

2024.05.15 12:39 Inside_Sorbet2959 Possibly the best VANILLA+ Server I've played in 15k hours
