Born in the year 4BC, Tessario was the son of a Lyseni courtesan and a nobleman of the Old Blood who had left for the Black Walls of Volantis before he even knew of the child.
Growing up in Lys, Tessario was raised by his mother in a small manse where she would teach him lessons learnt from the courts of the free city.
Since his mother first spoke to him tales of Valyria and dragon riders, Tessario was enthralled.
His bloodline was of the forty families, from one of the few dragonlords on Lys during the 'Night of Tears', when the dragonlords had been poisoned and their dragons slain by their very hosts - the magisters. That the dragon rider had been his ancestor was his family's deepest secret and one that could have seen them killed in generations past.
The knowledge that the dragon riders of old were his very ancestors was almost too much for the young boy to keep secret. Especially now, when dragons had waged conquest on Westeros' shores so recently. But while the Targaryen's were said to wed brother to sister to keep their bond with the dragons strong, his family had not had a dragon rider in five generations. Since then his family's bloodline - the house of Altaerys, thought lost in the Doom of Valyria and the Century of Blood since, had become clouded with the Old Blood of Volantis during their occupation of Lys. And before that, diluted among the courts of Lys the Lovely, where none truly knew or at least none spoke of how much dragon blood they had. It was clear most of Lys had some. The features of silver-blond or white hair and the eyes of pale blue or shades of purple were all too common. The city was truly Valyrian. Who knew how many dragonlords' legacies his blood carried now?
Tessario, with his pure Valyrian blood and features to match, had the fiery will of his ancestors but an uncommonly pragmatic mind. As he grew, so did his keen mind, picking up his numbers and letters faster than other boys his age.
Raised in the turbulence of a city still reeling from the uprising against Volantis, Tessario learnt how violent people could be at a young age. Surrounded by the cruelties of slavery, he grew up numbed to the hardships of others.
By nine name-days he would begin visiting the Temple of Trade where he and other boys would talk with the magisters and tradesmen who congregated there. From among these wealthy and noble men of the city, he and a lucky few others, would gain apprenticeships; a position that was highly coveted in the city of Lys, where trade was considered a profession more honorable than arms.
Tessario shadowed his sponsor for three years, learning the inner workings of trade negotiations, currency exchange, and contract creation. He met several other apprentices who like him hungered for more, as well as making friends among the less prominent families of Lys all too keen to climb the social ladder. So, when his apprenticeship was over they formed a merchantile group of ambitious youths. Tessario and the others began with insurance cons and profitable arbitrage that filled their pockets and funded bigger schemes.
The war in the Stepstones came as a wondrous opportunity for the newly founded group. The members invested heavily, with some overseeing the battles themselves. Luckily the Lysene forces met up with not only those of Tyrosh, but also ships from Dorne and the Stormlands. Tessario wore armour for the first time as he sailed sellswords to the fighting, though did no more than watch in actuality. War made them rich and for the first time in his life Tessario knew what it was to wield true power. The power to make others die for your ends.
The pirate threat crumbled easily, but the true prizes were had after the fighting. Contracts for trade opened up and new ports to invest in saw the merchantile group grow faster than ever before. They hired lingering hedge knights and sellswords to protect their assets and even convinced some of the former pirate vessels to become corsairs under them.
As the Stepstones begin to flourish, the group started to look further afield for other trade routes. In 18AC, just as Dorne began to invest heavily in Sunstone, Tessario sailed to Driftmark as one of three emissaries of their group tasked with finding new avenues for profit. It was while on this mission that Tessario first met Valarr Velaryon, Lord of the Tides. Seeking a base of operations outside of Lys, Tessario negotiated plans for a bank to be built in Spicetown, profiting from the flow of trade.
Tessario broached the concept to the group telling them of the pearls found by fishermen in the pools of the island's coves and a contract for the Pearl Bank was drawn up. Tessario, as one of the two-and-twenty key holders, was now responsible for much.
Construction began in late 19AC with a main building that was reinforced with strong stone and deep vaults. Pearl farms under the control of the bank were also created, with construction of the entire project finishing before the end of 24AC. During this time the bank engaged in numerous amounts of trade, amassing a full vault, as well as funding loans to the many growing businesses of Spicetown, merchants of the free cities, and other Houses of Westeros. This includes House Massey of Stonedance, House Celtigar of Claw Isle, and many other minor houses.

 | tldr: Night trains make sense on routes 9-14 hours long and we can design a 50 berth single level sleeper car. submitted by Reclaimer_2324 to Amtrak [link] [comments] One of the key factors that influences Amtrak service is what is often called the 750 mile rule, that is routes over 750 miles are long distance and Federally funded, routes under 750 miles are corridors and at least partially state funded. Now part of the problem that this causes is that there are many routes in the that would be very successful as both night train and day trains like the Palmetto, but may not be funded by the states etc. This post seeks to examine how efficient (and possibly profitable) services could be run on twice daily routes that are 9 to 14 hours long. 9 hours is close to the shortest you can get a decent sleep on a night train from one end to the other. 14 hours is close to the longest that most night trains in Europe or elsewhere run. But we also don't want to have night trains only that sit around all day and don't get used, it would be a waste of capital funds. So we should try to turn them around and use them for a daylight run in the opposite direction. If we could be very efficient at refuelling, cleaning and restocking the train we might be able to do it in an hour, add another hour or two to allow for some late running and we could have the train complete its run, and ready to go in the other direction in either 12 hours (just two train sets for twice daily operation) to 18 hours (three train sets for twice daily operation). Night trains generally attract 10-25% of the air travel market on a given route, most European routes fall in the 15% mark. If you can think of an airmarket between two cities 9-14 hours apart by rail with an air travel market of >1 million passengers a year it is likely a winner - others might not have enough supply or air routes but have busy interstates instead. Routes like this are: San Francisco to Los Angeles (potentially extended to be Sacramento to San Diego) NYC to Toronto Portland, OR to Vancouver, BC Salt Lake City to Denver via Ogden and Cheyenne Detroit to DC via Cleveland and Pittsburgh - likely far more convenient for people in Toledo and Cleveland, slightly shorter as well. Routes that would be if upgraded for slightly higher average speeds (approx. 60 mph) Extra Atlanta to DC or NYC trains would be useful beyond the once a day Crescent. For instance reviving the Silver Comet as part of the SEHSR works from Raleigh to Richmond to DC might allow a 15 hour schedule to NYC. Topeka/Kansas to Cincinnati via St Louis and Indianapolis Chicago to Atlanta Dallas-Forth Worth to Nashville via Little Rock and Memphis The trains you might want; Viewliner III A quick sketch of a possible Viewliner III The above diagram show the kind of 10-car train you might want to run. Cars are a standard 85 ft long by 10' 6" wide by 14 ft tall. Sleeper types: P - Premium, similar to current bedroom 7ft by 8ft, includes double bed, plus two single bunk beds, bathroom and a couch plus chair in the day configuration C - Couchette or perhaps Coach Sleeper; 7ft by 6ft 10" Compartments with either 6 bunk beds or 6 seats, shared bathrooms, curtains for privacy for each bunk. (Since they are shared they would likely be segregated by gender). S - Solo Suite, like capsule hotels or mini cabin on OBB NightJet. Single person rooms with shared bathrooms A - Accessible, accessible 3-adult bedrooms with ensuite accessible bathroom. Seats can be used as both first class day travel and sleeping cars at night helps generate more revenue. Coffee station and washrooms are in each sleeping car, bigger luggages items must be checked through in the baggage compartment. Extra showers and toilets are in the crew/baggage car rather than in the sleeping cars which would help have high capacity sleepers. Twin-set Dining/First class lounge joined with galley/cafe car, would provide food service on board. The Dining car could have a similar set up to the Cross Country Cafe cars plus a proper bar and perhaps piano for live music (alcohol service is profitable on trains - even if food might not be). One big combined galley would serve both meaning that the Cafe could have meals better than just a microwaved one, maybe simple meals like fresh curry, soup etc. Sleepers are primarily marketed towards business travellers who may want to skip the hassle of flying on at least one leg and skip a extra hotel night by taking a hotel on wheels, as well as anyone looking for a budget way to travel. With the couchette providing sleeping accommodations on a budget - maybe 50% more than coach fares? Good food service on-board in a dining car, a comfortable lounge, and a private space to work and with free wi fi might help attract more premium passengers during the day time legs of the train. Plentiful numbers of 2+2 coach seats with seat pitch of about 40" (approximately in-between the current long distance seat pitch and short distance Amfleet seat pitch) equivalent to Premium Economy on an airliner. During the day leg, they would capture a wide variety of travel as may Amtrak corridor trains do while running through the day. During the night these trains provide rooms more extravagant and spacious than the current bedrooms do, as well as Solo Suites suitable for business travellers and couchette accommodations for those on a budget. These kinds of trains and services would really help boost Amtrak's perception as a useful and good way to travel in the public's mind, and might even be new routes that aren't all that money losing after all. |

Products INFO: Apple Macbook Air 13 inches, 2020 M1 8-Core, 16GB, SSD 256GBI have a plan to completely disassemble my Mac, dust off and replace the keyboard including its foil paper (as known as the backlight paper) at home. I've finished watching a couple of disassembling videos on YouTube and got a few of questions that couldn't find the clear answers on Google Search. I want to make sure of these before starting the replacement.
Here are my questions;
I havea Screw Driver Kit. Every each of the bits contain a small magnetic on its tip. Can I use this driver to unscrew bolts nearby any necessary components of my machine such as logic board, battery connector, wifi card and DC-IN board etc? Will it cause the permanent damage on components due to the physical contact to the magnetic tip?- There are plenty of replacement keyboard products on the online shops which have different serial numbers. I saw A2337 for Retina though the skeleton of keyboard looks exactly same to the none-Retina Macbook. Would this keyboard be the compatible one with my Mac?
- This one is always having a different answers. Can I clean (just gently tapping it) the components with an alcohol tissue?

To re-summarize, Lolong implies to Koga that a big part of it is sensing subtle air flow changes that happen when a person mentally prepares a given action. I interpreted this to mean breathing changes, and there is some real-life basis for that given neuroscientists could predict when you would take a physical action 100s of milliseconds before hand just from monitoring your breathing cycle. But specifically, the breathing pattern that happens when you're forming a decision to move, as opposed to other breathing that happens as you exhale or inhale right before an attack,.
Further support for this is given by Kaneda saying Hatsumi's Pre-I used his breathing, center of gravity, and timing to figure out his next move with accuracy. With this in mind, it does seem plausible at least that many skilled fighters can sense the inception of intent from time to time if they happen to get the read on their opponent's breathing just right, but to have capital P Pre-Initiative, you need to be able to do it with consistency.
However on that note, I also think now too it's probably that, but also probably something similiar to how>! Baki Characters use Pre-I for those familiar, and I touched a bit on that in the OG post .!<

So I just built my first PC about a month ago and all of a sudden my CPU Frequency in both the MSI Center and the AMD Adrenaline apps are either showing a crazy number or 0. I tried rebooting after the 654965106 number and then I got 0 the next time I checked.
Also, my monitor has started to intermittently cut out. The only thing that has changed is that I have added a KVM switch as I have a laptop that I use for personal/school/work and I'm trying to keep my PC strictly for gaming. KVM was all set up yesterday during the day and everything was fine. Fast forward to last night as I'm settling into S4 of Diablo 4 and the screen starts intermittently going black for about 2 seconds then comes back on. Even now as I'm making this post, it has happened several times. Is this the sole fault of the KVM switch? Would I be better just using it for the keyboard and mouse and manually switch between the DP and HDMI ports?

Old peasant legends tell of a magnificent treasure at the peak of Firetop Mountain in the realm of Titan. This treasure is sought out by many adventurers, although few make it back out of the mountains in one piece, and none are able to find the two-locked chest containing the prize. The treasure is guarded by an enigmatic warlock who commands terrible beasts to guard the chest’s keys. Some say he's old, some say he's young, some say his cards are his source of power, others say it’s his black gloves. The only thing that the peasants can agree on was his name; Zagor.

General
Human Form- He has a Skill stat of 11 and a Stamina stat of 18. This makes Zagor more skilled than a Vampire, who can catch the player’s sword, and tougher than a Giant.
- After resurrecting into a patchwork body, he maintains his stats of 11 in Skill and 18 in Stamina
- If the second adventurer kills him a second time, they return to identify the corpse a few days later. Zagor’s body is completely dead, but he’s grinning and his skeletal left hand is missing, something the adventurer worries will lead to a third encounter down the line.
- In another realm called Amarillia, a war with a Bone Demon ended when the Casket of Souls was created, which allowed the humans to banish the demon to another plane. However, Zagor’s pernicious spirit felt this event in the realm of Titan and used the Casket to manifest himself in Amarillia. By crossing into the parallel world, he bonded with the trapped Bone Demon, and Zagor’s third physical form is a demonic/human hybrid. This incarnation grows stronger as Zagor spends time in the demon’s lair, Castle Argent, and can only be killed for good by the Heartfires below the castle.
- Zagor’s Demon form is four meters tall and visibly strong. He fights using a rune-covered staff.
- As his Demon-Thing form, his stats go up to 16 in Skill and 20 in Stamina. He uses a variety of attacks in combat, like a Thunderbolt spell, a Fireball spell, a Life Drain spell that lowers an adventurer’s Skill and Stamina stat, a Poisoned Dagger, and melee attacks with his Taloned Fists. If the Zagor Demon reaches critical health without dying, it will become Frenzied and thrash around violently.
- After beating the Zagor Demon, the adventurer must throw his body into the magic Heartfires to completely destroy him. If he’s not thrown into these flames, he will revive himself and slay the adventurer with his claws.
Magic Abilities
Immunities- He cannot be harmed by non-magical means. Attacks like arrows do no damage to Zagor.
- Zagor is immune to the magic paralysis spell used by a genie
- He can see through the effects of invisibility-granting garments
- If an adventurer attempts to use offensive magic against the Zagor Demon, his reaction depends on if he has a higher Attack Strength than the opponent. If his stat is higher, his Magic Screen spell cancels the offensive spell and damages the adventurer.
- He’s immune to instant Death Spells
- A master thief’s flowing cloak allows the wearer to confuse enemies, lowering the hit rate of their attacks. However, Zagor sees through this technique and is unaffected by the distracting garment.
- If an adventurer uses a handheld catapult on Zagor, and Zagor has a higher Attack Strength stat, the projectile misses and the adventurer is injured
- He’s capable of teleporting around the room as well as levitating
- If the player shoots an arrow at Zagor, he lifts a hand and halts in mid-flight, centimeters away from his chest
- Shoots a plume of blue flames from his hand
- Magically slows the adventurer as they climb up some stairs. As this happens, Zagor magically summons a mid-level, poisonous monster to duel the adventurer. Damage done by this creature is transferred to Zagor himself. This spell can be neutralized by an adventurer’s protective spell.
- He can form invisible barriers, useful for creating obstacles to knock flying adventurers from the air
- While he initially appears as a withered, ancient man, he quickly assumes a younger form in opulent clothing when preparing to fight the player
- Right before his defeat in the fist book, Zagor cast a dark spell on himself called Raise Dead, preventing his spirit from fully dying
- Coming back from the dead was not a perfect process, and most of Zagor’s body is decomposing. He must have his minions claim body parts from living victims in order to replace his failing body, piece by piece.
- He uses a curse to raise deceased residents of Firetop Mountain as his Undead servants
- He’s cursed the land around Firetop Mountain. The once red rocks have turned black, and livestock who graze around the mountain die sickening deaths shortly afterwards.
- He has a hypnotic gaze and his voice seems to come from the walls of the cave rather than his mouth
- If the player finds and uses an Invisibility Potion, Zagor can still sense their presence and track them through scent
- Zagor personally rigs a trap with a spell called Demon’s Breath. If the adventurer stands too close to a wall, a puff of gas is released that continually poisons them until they eat orc fleas.
- Zagor can draw his monsters from other planes of existence. This is how, upon his jump from Titan to Amarillia, Castle Argent is already full of his minions.
- When an adventurer opens a casket, Zagor casts a spell that further decomposes and animates the corpse within to attack the adventurer. This spell is performed over a great distance.
- He can sense when his name is uttered in Castle Argent and dispatch monsters to that location
Magic Artifacts
Zagor's Portrait- The adventurer can come across Zagor’s painting in Firetop Mountain, a frightening portrait that lowers their Skill stat through intimidation
- If the adventurer draws their sword against the artwork, the blade is telekinetically grabbed and dropped on them, wounding their face
- If the adventurer draws a wooden stake against the artwork, their wrist is suddenly wracked with pain and they drop the weapon. They also lose one more Skill point before fleeing.
- If the adventurer throws cheese at the painting, Zagor laughs at them
- If the adventurer produces the jewel found in the Iron Cyclops, the painting is defeated and the adventurer receives two Skill points
- A different painting found in Castle Argent uses a telepathic attack to frighten an adventurer and lower their Luck stat
- As a tradeoff of using the Raise Dead spell on himself, the powers that be placed brought Elementals to his lair in Firetop Mountain. These supernatural beings are the only thing that can truly harm Zagor and must be summoned by using a dragon’s tooth along with an awakening word. However, Zagor can also subjugate these forces under his rule after he gathers his own summoning artifacts.
- If at any point, the adventurer fails to produce the right dragon tooth during the duel with Zagor, then Zagor’s Elemental will pick them up and throw them at a wall, rendering them unconscious. If they fail to say the right magic word, they also be magically rendered unconscious by a telekinetic backlash.
- Upon encountering the adventurer, he first summons his Demonic Air Elemental with a yellow crystal and magic chants
- If his Air Elemental is defeated by the adventurer’s Earth Elemental, Zagor summons a Water Elemental
- If the Water Elemental is defeated by the adventurer’s Air Elemental, Zagor summons an Earth Elemental
- If the Earth Elemental is defeated by the adventurer’s Fire Elemental, Zagor will summon an identical Fire Elemental
- If the Fire Elemental is defeated by the adventurer’s Water Elemental, Zagor will finally get out of his throne and fight personally

- A silver earring is found on a Cave Troll. If the adventurer puts it on, it turns into a living earwig that attempts to enter the person’s ear and attack their brain. This Brainbiter is described as one of Zagor’s enchanted assassins.
- A silver necklace is found on a Goblin. Upon contact with human skin, it turns into a feral rat with poisonous bites. The charm is said to have been created by Zagor.
- Magic cards from his magic set offer a variety of positive and negative effects for those who manage to collect, on, including: one that turns into a magically terrifying face, one that lowers the holder’s Skill and Luck stats, a blank card, one that confers Stamina and Luck into the holder and one that can turn into a silver dagger that can weaken Zagor himself
Weaknesses

The famous baseballer, Jackie Robinson, he once said: “A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.” I could not agree more. That is why I try to make as much impact on my faces’ lives as possible. After all, they have done so much for me. It is the least I can do. Unlike them, I need not fear what people think of me. So I can be brave where they are weak. For I will just be someone else tomorrow.
He'd move to America and use his talents to pull off high-scale burglary, working for any group that could afford his fee, including the Communist party, Hydra or the Green Goblin. His elicit activity brought him into conflict with the Hulk, Iron Man and most often Spider-Man, all of whom had to act with great caution when the Chameleon was in town. After all, which one of them could tell if that unassuming civilian or their own ally was preparing to stab them in the back?
Dmitri has some mental hangups over his time with the Kravinoffs. He’s managed to repress the memories and considered himself good friends with his half-brother Kraven. In reality, he was more like a whipping boy and slave to the Hunter, and when he has to wrestle with those feelings, he can mentally revert to that scared little boy with no strong sense of identity or independence. But when he’s able to move past these feelings, the Chameleon has proved himself as a powerful, manipulative force, finding his place as temporary Crime Master of New York and member of the Sinister Six.
Notes
During one of Dmitri’s mental breaks, he began to believe that he was his deceased half-brother, Kraven the Hunter. So exact was the Chameleon’s performance that he moved and fought with the hunter’s skill and agility. This was an extreme fringe case and there are no other examples of a disguise altering Chameleon's capabilities like this. Physical and skill-related feats from this period will be marked with [KH].

- After getting one quick glance at Thunderbolt Ross, the Chameleon is able to make a perfect mask of the general’s face in a matter of minutes
- When the Hulk is tearing the Chameleon’s car apart, he quickly changes into the guise of Rick Jones to calm the Hulk, then manipulate him into breaking a friend out of prison

First of all I am not a complete denier of manifesting and the power of the mind. The best example is the placebo and nocebo effect messing up drug trials.
However the neville supporters seems to have some absurd beliefs.
1) that we can manifest anything:
Well no, there are laws that cannot be broken like gravity. Why have we not seen anyone flying? Why is not one cheating death? Why do these manifesting coaches have to charge people for coaching? Why don't they just manifest money out of thin air without having to move an inch? I'm sure many things can be achieved with the power of the mind. But claim we are limitless is absurd.
2) that free will isn't real and we can manifest anyone regardless of what they want:
This sounds completely wrong since if that was the case then the world would have collapsed. Its very odd that something used to improve yourself is now being used to manipulate others. Also what if two people manifest the same person? What if person A manifests person B. But person B manifest staying away from person A? Then what?
3) infinite realities:
This is the most illogical belief ever. Neville supporters claim there is infinite realities and by manifesting you shift to a reality that you have your desire. Thus justifying their claim that others have no free will. So if I manifest and SP then I shift to a reality where SP is mine and she stays in a reality were SP is not mine. First of All where is the evidence if the existence of infinite realities? How do you know there are infinite realities? There might be 7 or 8. Even if there are infinite realities, what makes you think your desire is part of them? Also what makes you think you can shift to a different reality? The whole point of parallel universes is that they do not cross and are not accessible. This theory of theirs is nothing but a claim that cannot be verified.
Also why do people around you notice if you manifest? If you really shifted then you went to a world where your desire is already there.
Why do I notice when others manifest? I dint shift, if someone else shifted I would not have seen them.
This proves manifesting is only done in this universe. Shifting isnt real.

This leads to OCD, anxiety and victims blaming. There are people in forums asking did I manifest someone's death? Clearly this is nothing but delusion.

Hi there so my HVAC system broke and in the meantime I bought a portable ac unit. Every time I have it on though, I get joint swelling and migraines. However I live in Florida and the weather is in the 90's making it in the 100's inside. Please please if anybody has any type of sensitivity and knows of one that does cause any problems please let me know!
leven had a handy man drill a hole on my wall thinking it was the rat coming out of the long plastic tube and that the plastic was giving me a reaction. Well.. even without the big tube I get a reaction so now I have a hole in my wall. That's how desperate I've become to have cool air.
P.s. the whole ac is clean, it's brand new so there isn't any type of mold on the coils and what not. The one I have is GE 6,100 BTU DOE SACC 115 Volt 6.8 EER Portable Air Conditioner with Dehumidifier.

What works well/I like:
- Efficiency. I am getting 3.0 kWh, at least, and that was in colder winter spring conditions here in the Boston area. The car does demand more energy on the highway (no surprise) but it really sips energy around town. The city driving can be amazingly efficient (3.3 or higher kWh). I do a combo of highway and city driveway.
- The heat pump air conditioning system. Heating and cooling is fast, very efficient, and clearly helps to extend range in the winter. I can see high spikes (up to 15kw when I turn on the system), but once the car is to temp, is stay level at 1-2 kw, or less. Very impressive.
- Quietness of ride. Compared to my wife's relatively new sienna, this ride is very quiet. Its really nice rot finally have a car that is quiet enough for easy hands free telephone conversation and lower music volume.
- The acceleration of the car. Holy mackerel. I have never had an EV before so driving a car this large and heavy that can go 0-60 in 5 seconds is a revelation. And yes, I do floor it very occasionaly and am still getting great efficiency. If you drive it hard all the time, and you will burn thru the energy in battery a lot faster.
- Lane centering, self steering, and cruise control (the prob have acronyms but I dont know what they are). Can this car completely self drive? Defeintily not. But it's really nice to take the hands off the wheel for short periods of time. The radar cruise control works really well and will brake well under most circumstances.
- The room for 2nd and 3rd row passengers. There is tons of room in the second row, and the 3rd is excellent comparatively to other offerings. If you haul kids, they will be very happy.
- The regen settings and the E-GMP platform as a whole. The regen options are amazing. One reason why I get the efficiency I do is I largely am in i-pedal, auto, and low regeneration settings, depending on where I am driving. They clearly put a a lot of thought into how all components of the system should operate together. So far AC charging at home and DC fast charging using EA stations has worked very well. I am very impressed by this platform, although admittedly I dont have a basis for comparison.
- The option to use the car is a whole home backup during power outages using the upcoming bi directional chargers. Said chargers haven't been released yet, but using 100kw battery in the car to power certain circuits in a home is a much more elegant idea than dropping 15-25k on a stand alone 10-20kw system. And I bet here in MA I will eventually get paid for allowing the utility to take power from the battery during times of high demand. Love that idea.
- The infotainment system. I am coming form a ICE car. The infotainment has so many screens and useful settings. Navigation could be improved, but I am still enjoying the system. The EV menu especially is great, and really helps me to understand really time energy consumption and regeneration. My guess is Tesla does all of this much better, but still, I really like most if it, except for the maps "app" which sucks. I use CarPlay, google maps, and apple maps instead.
- the stereo system. Yes it's a little lacking in the base department, but between the lower road noise and decent speakers, I enjoy it, especially the surround mode feature.
- The small things. Wireless apple CarPlay, auto high beams, auto windshield wipers, heated/ventilated seats, LED (or LCD?) rearview mirror, passenger talk, and second row sun shades which cover almost the entire window - all work much better than expected. I use all and really appreciate the functionality and ease of use of all of these features.
- OTA updates and kia connect in general. Again its sounds like Tesla does all of this better, but I have had 5 updates on the car since purchase. Kia is clearly trying to improve the functionality and reliability of the car via these OTA updates. I also appreciate the features in kia connect, even though they are not mind blowing. I have never had a car that I could pre-air condition before. Its a nice change.
- As some others on this sub have mentioned the car exhibits is some lateral movement especially at higher speeds when the car goes over bumps. To me, the movement is minor and it doesnt bother me. But when it happens, I am reminded that I am not really driving a sports car. It's a fast SUV.
- Not being able to keep the car in I-pedal. Others have mentioned this too. This might be regulator specified though.
- Some of the safety features. There are some many it's mind blowing. But I keep my Yakima Exo hitch system on at all times (collapsed) which means I have to disable one feature every time I drive (I must hold down the center console "P" button for three seconds or else the car performs emergency breaking as it thinks its going to hit the EXO).
- Not beings able to have all door handles unlock any/everytime a request is sent to the car to unlock a door. I know this is a safety feature, but its annoying that I cant turn it off.
- Feeling like enabling my phone as a digital key might significantly reduce battery life. I would like to use this feature, but am more interested in have a reliable car that can fall asleep and give its 12V a break.

Hi there so my HVAC system broke and in the meantime I bought a portable ac unit. Every time I have it on though, I get joint swelling and migraines. However I live in Florida and the weather is in the 90’s making it in the 100’s inside. Please please if anybody has any type of sensitivity and knows of one that does cause any problems please let me know!

Straight to the point: I'm a 30-year-old male, married for 8 years and together for 12. She was my first in everything. For the past 2 years, I've been annoyed with our marriage most of the time because we don't spend time together and barely talk about anything except brief updates. I'm a very active person. I run an IT company, play ice hockey, ride mountain bikes, have a lot of friends, and occasionally race my bimmer. We have a comfortable and calm life together, but I crave a deeper connection, interesting conversations, debates about ideas, and mutual hobbies and interests. She's a very different type of person; she enjoys drawing, meditating, and staying at home. It's not that I dislike these things, but I'm losing interest in her, and we've reached a point where we no longer spend time together or have meaningful conversations because she's not interested and can't support these types of discussions.
We've tried a few activities together, but sports aren't for her, and things like drawing aren't for me. To be honest, I'm very lost because I know she'll be a perfect mother for our kids. When we have kids, these mutual hobbies won't matter as much since we likely won't have time for them anyway. However, I also believe that kids aren't going to fix our problems. I used to think that after 10 years together, it would be the same with anyone, but after reading some posts here, I realize maybe it's not. So I just wanted to get honest advice from people who have been married longer than I have or who have already divorced.
My itch grew more after meeting a couple of women on my ice hockey team who are very active and work in IT. It was like a burst of fresh air, so new and invigorating. I know it's because it's a novelty, and of course, I'll have these feelings, but I wonder if it's something anyone could sustain for more than 10 years. My relatives told me before we got married that she isn't necessarily an "intelligent" woman, but at that time, I said it didn't matter because I had friends to talk about these things with when I wanted to. In reality, I really want to discuss these things with my wife and get a new perspective or have a good argument. It's too calm.
We tried to divorce 2 years ago, and then gave it another shot to try and fix our marriage, but not much has changed. Both of us were not very eager and we just went back into our comfort zone cocoon.
I don't know if I'm living in an illusion or have the wrong idea about marriage, but here I am. Destroy me.
