2024.04.29 04:00 Bonjonsie The Jonsie Burrows: Help Wanted 2 Part 6

Drinking five liters of Fizzy Faz is a bad idea. Think of your kidneys and liver!
Previous part: 5.
Nothing to say really, let's just keep on keeping on!
For those new to this series or who have lost which part or place they're on, check out The Jonsie Burrows: Help Wanted 2: Tables of contents to find where you want to go! If you haven't seen any of my stuff before then...
Hello, this is something you might have missed in Help Wanted 2.
Previously Post Interesting things:
  1. Our main character, HW Jeremy, Cassie's dad, is already wearing the Security Mask before we even start the game. This means Glitchtrap has access to his mind and body. As for what that entails...
  2. Help Wanted 2's AMask-on version of the FNAF6 Pizzaria might be based on Micheal's canonical look for it near the end of Pizzaria Simulator.
  3. After completing each minigame, a party hat, plate, and cup will appear on the table next to you. Whose party are we attending as a guest?
  4. The protagonist of Help Wanted 2 is HW Jeremy, discovered through the color blue items which are prominent in the game and used for his name and shirt in Ruin. Jeremy was a former employee of Circus Baby's Entertainment and Rental and may have been present during the events of Sister Location.
  5. In the First Aid minigame of Help Wanted 2, the "GET WELL SOON!" drawings depict Baby's life as seen through Vanny's eyes, hinting towards the game's secret ending. These drawings also reveal that Baby's data card from Sister Location was inside Helpy in Pizzeria Simulator and survived the fire. As a result, her programming was eventually absorbed into the Pizzaplex's Network, leading to her appearance in Help Wanted 2.
  6. Glitchtrap may have collected the souls and memories of the original dead kids into the Pizzaplex's Network and in this game, Jeremy is going is his memories.
  7. Help Wanted 2's Fizz Faz minigame's location is the same but different location in Security Breach. They both have identical objects placed in the exact place as each other, giving evidence to the fact that Jeremy is physically moving to certain locations in the Pizzaplex when clicking on the minigames.
Now back to our unregularly scheduled series!

Once in the restaurant again, Helpy as always when you completed a minigame, informed you that a new task was available to you. Checking the Staff Only folder revealed that it was the next night of Fizzy Faz, which you clicked on to open its pop-up window.

You know I've been meaning to get into the Helpi of this game. That's right not even a second paragraph into the next part and we're already deep diving into another subject!
So lets start with the interesting thing about Helpi in Help Wanted 2, is he actually Glitchtrap? Yes, no, and maybe. Let's think it through.
Unlike his Ruin variant, Help Wanted 2's Helpi only appears in one place, the projector screen in the hub world. Also unlike Ruin's this Helpi has a completely different design.
Although those two points about this Helpi don't give us much to work on to figure out why he the way he is in this game at first glance. It actually gives us a ton of information!
For one, his design and singular placement in the game tell us that this Helpi is not a part of the V.A.N.N.I. network like Ruin Helpi was. How can I know this? Simple. The V.A.N.N.I. network does not cover the FNAF 6 pizzeria.
You see something that I didn't cover in my Ruin deep dive is its Brazil ending. In that ending, Cassie puts on the Security Mask and integrates into the network one last time as she hides from the Mimic behind a Fredbear's cutout. But how could this be when Helpi explicitly tells us that the V.A.N.N.I. network ends at the door to the underground?
Something that I learned when I started my quest to prove stuff, especially when it comes to the endings of these games, is that each of the alternate endings we're given, no matter if they're the canon ending or not, provides us with valuable information about the ongoings of the game. Including stuff that's happening in the background sort of speak.
Take my "One ending leads to Ruin" post for example. Some of Security Breach's endings give us a pretty clear picture of what Vanny was doing when Gregory and Freddy went underground for the Burn It All Down ending.
The Alley ending for instance has Vanny tracking down Gregory into its namesake. But how Vanny knows that Gregory has left the building so quickly and managed to follow him right after he leaves is only hinted at in the To the Rooftop ending. During that ending we're are shown that Vanny is on the rooftop before Gregory gets there, much to his shock.
You see when deciding to escape the Pizzaplex rather than confront Vanny, Gregory falls right into one of her traps. Vanny knows that Gregory is going to try and escape the building once it hits 6:00 a.m. because she made almost every exit to the Pizzaplex unavailable and inaccessible to him until that time.
The front entrance, of course, opens at 6:00 a.m., and The loading dock requires at least a level seven clearance, which would take literally hours for Gregory to get. This leaves only one possible exit for him to leave through and the one place she can ambush him and catch him by surprise, the Pizzaplex's rooftop.
So when 6:00 a.m. hits and she still doesn't have him, Vanny waits on the roof as it provides her with a vantage point to catch him or spot which way he leaves the Pizzaplex. Unfortunately for her, but not too unfortunate considering all the possible endings, Gregory had decided to confront not her, but the true source of evil and attempt to Burn it All Down.
Though funnily enough, The Getaway ending, in which Greg and Fred steal a van, was the best possible escape plan, because the van provides Gregory the advantage of speed to outrun Vanny when she spots him from the rooftop.
All of this is information that could only be gained by looking at what the other endings tell us about what could possibly happen if different choices are made.
So what does the Brazil ending of Ruin inform us?
It can tell us that the Vanny Mask can connect to the Pizzaplex's network outside of the V.A.N.N.I network. If you are confused by my wording, let me explain as I haven't talked about it in a while. But the Pizzaplex has a main network and subnetworks. The main network is basically the foundation for every other network in the Pizzaplex, like the security system, the wet floor bots, and Glamrock Bonnie network, the various attractions' network, and the V.A.N.N.I network.
So the V.A.N.N.I network is not actually required for the Security Mask to be used, just the main network of the Pizzaplex, and as the hidden cameras of Ruin show us, at least one subnetwork connects all the down to where the Mimic was sealed. Way past where Jeremy is in the FNAF6 pizzeria.
But you don't really need the Brazil ending to find this out as the sequence leading up to it helps tease that out. No, what the Brazil ending tells us, or rather shows us and relates to Help Wanted 2, is that Helpi can appear outside of the V.A.N.N.I network.
How can I know this is Helpi? If you're referring to this Helpi, our little helper from the Security Mask, then no, I'm not talking about that Helpi. Whom I'm referring too is a variant I've come to call Helpmi. In Ruin, this corrupted version of Helpi is defined by his slight change in appearance and personality.
But more than that as I talked about in my "Helpi is a victim Prove it!" post. The source of our corrupted Helper in Ruin and is using him as a puppet is other than Glitchtrap. Our malhare has quite the fondness of using other known characters in the franchise as a trojan horse with which to interact and manipulate things. A quirk developed from his Mimic and Aftons origins, no doubt.
So when I say that Helpi can appear outside of the V.A.N.N.I network. What I'm actually saying is that Glitchtrap's Helpmi decoy can appear outside of that network. And that decoy can appear as any variant of Helpi, including Glamrock Helpy who makes an appearance in the Brazil ending instead of V.A.N.N.I. Helpi.
As to why it's Glamrock Helpy and not V.A.N.N.I Helpi who appears in that final image of that ending, I'm not totally sure. It could be that Cassie would be more familiar with that variant of Helpy as that one is the current standard design in the Pizzaplex, it may be because V.A.N.N.I Helpi is actually an entity compared to the other Helpys, or could be because Glamrock Helpy was the first version of him to be controlled by Glitchtrap.
Each possibility is likely, but no way to know the truth of it. At least for now.
But what's important here is that Glitchtrap is capable of showing those who wear the Security Mask a Helpi decoy that can direct them to do what he wants while he hides in the shadows. And that decoy can shift its appearance to fit any occasion.
Say a certain pizzeria that's deep under the Pizzaplex.
Is this Helpi actually Glitchtrap? Yes. Unlike Ruin's Helpi, this one is entirely Glitchtrap in disguise with no alter ego.
Wow, I just clocked in on that! Glitchtrap actually shows another trait of his Mimic predecessor by having a habit of putting on disguises! That is interesting...
Helpi, Nightmarrione plushie, and even Burntrap to an extent. I've been wondering why in this game, Glitchtrap seemed so intent on being hidden from our view. Especially since this is the type of situation that we should expect to see him since our mind is in the network.
We never see him up close, have a direct view of his full body, or face him directly. It can't be because he's stuck somewhere and has to communicate through a proxy as he personally hands us the memory dolls and even personally plays with us directly with his hand puppet in the Bonk-a-Bon minigame.
Maybe Glitchtrap being so hidden from us in these games after Help Wanted is not because he was cut from the games, but because he's deliberately hiding from the protagonists of these games' point of view and uses disguise to interact with them. Hmm...
Okay, we're getting off-topic now. But we will talk about this at a later date.
As for this Helpi retro appearance, I believe it has to do with being inside the pizzeria. This restaurant although is the location where FNAF 6 took place, may also be the place where a carnival happened to be. And if that giant Freddy we find near this restaurant is any indication, a Freddy 's-themed carnival that coincides with a certain annual festival that we've been hinted about in these new-era games.
Anyway, that about wraps it up about Helpi in this game. But I want to get further along in the deep dive to see if there's any else I can glean from this decoy.
Let's get back to the Help Wanted 2!

"Fizzy Faz fun! Meet production quotas and protect the bottom line." this was what the pop window for Fizzy Faz Night 2 read before pressed the TUTORIAL button and was transported by darkness into the void again.
"Make the correct order and send it up to the delivery unit. " "Give S.T.A.F.F. Bots a break occasionally or you may regret it." "Use the
Emergency Shut Down if things get out of hand."
Were what the ominous instructions floating in the void greeted you with. It looks like things aren't going to be so easy this night if that third one was any indication. With a press of the start button and a blink of darkness later, you find yourself back in the Mixing Room once again.
"You are back." was FIZZ Bot welcoming on your return.
"S.T.A.F.F may become hostile." Another warning about the dangers of the S.T.A.F.F bots. Looks like you are really going to need to start paying attention to them and how much of each ingredient you have.
"Give forced break." Nothing about your surroundings changed from what you've seen. Even that half-empty Sodaroni can that was between the tall monitor and the button control panel in front of you last time, was still there. So you decided to take these next few moments to prepare yourself for what's to come.
"If S.T.A.F.F strike, use SHUTDOWN button. Force reboot." Was the end of Fizz Bot's short and clip instructions for the night before the tall monitor let up, implying the shift had started and the work had begun.
(Oooh, that's what that button does, reboot the S.T.A.F.F bots. I thought it was just a lockdown button. I should've probably paid more attention to Fizz Bot's explanation on my first watch-through of this game.)
It was all going well enough for you, you followed the list of ingredients, placed the container in the delivery unit, and kept an eye on the S.T.A.F.F bots as quickly and as best as you could. Rinse and repeat.
To your misfortune though.
A loud metallic screeching noise echoed throughout the Mixing Room, throwing you off your rhythm and causing you to stare out your window and into the warehouse itself. You didn't see anything, so you checked the cameras for the source of the noise.
Your best wasn't good enough.
A whirring sound pulled your gaze off the monitor and back to our front window as something that wasn't there before had pulled up to the window and was now standing there.
It was a S.T.A.F.F bot but not one that you've seen before. It was covered in dirt like someone had pulled it out of some old dusty dirt pile left in some forgotten part of the warehouse. But more than that, someone had decided to give it strange markings made by a black marker.
Its eyes were blacked out and tear marks were given to its face along with a drawn gaping mouth designed in a way to give the impression of teeth and three stripes were made around its forearms. But the strangest thing about this bot besides the fact that it was made to look like Nightmarionne, was that there was writing on its chest and what it read.
"In your Dreams."
What? But before you could think another thought, the bot slammed its hands against the glass window before rolling itself towards your right. Right to the open exit door.
In a moment of panic and quick thinking, you slammed the emergency SHUT DOWN button in front of you before you lost sight of it in the front window. Immediately, sparks shot up from various areas in the room as a metal wall came down from above and blocked the front window and a metal door came down in the doorway. Shielding you inside the room that was currently letting off an alarm sound and blinking a red light.
With the metal shield blocking the front window and your right short monitor displaying a black screen preventing you from seeing the cameras, you were totally isolated from the ongoing outside of the room you were in.
Luckily, your other monitor was on and still gave you the current order, so using this time wisely, you finished up the next few orders before the shutdown was over.
Which was soon enough as the metal shields went back up, the red lights turned off, and the alarm became silent. The Nightmarionne bot that was once in your front view has disappeared, but you had no time to be more thorough in your search for it as you still had orders to complete and S.T.A.F.F. bots to manage.

I find it really odd and curious that the Nightmarione bots in this minigame don't have their glowing white eyes like in Security Breach. Is this implying that the minigame's version of these bots is just a recreation rather than being the real ones?
I just went and checked out the normal ending for this game because I remembered that the Nightmarione bots appear there too and the same goes for them. No white eyes...
At first, I was going to brush this whole thing off as just an ordinary appearance of that special S.T.A.F.F. bot. But the missing eyes thing is starting to make me believe that something else is going on here with those bots in particular.
But what?
I know that the S.T.A.F.F. bots, or at least some of them, have the souls of Fazbear employees or other victims trapped within them due to Security Breach voice lines for them. Is this telling us that the souls within them are no longer there? Or is it telling us that the souls aren't in the network that we are in?
What I mean by that last line, is that both in this minigame and the ending, we are integrated into the network through the Security Mask. But unlike Ruin, we are integrated into a different network, not the V.A.N.N.I. network.
Still, there's got to be a reason why Steel Wool decided not to give them their signature white eyes in Help Wanted 2. I can't think of anything so I'll just stick a mental pin on this for later.

Before long, the ending shift alarm rang throughout the warehouse letting you know that your shift has ended and your work was completed. "Return and work. Save time tomorrow." Was the last thing you heard before you were transported back to "GAME WON!" void to claim your reward from the claw machine.
Which turned out to be something surprising compared to the other prizes you've gotten from the machine. It was a red gumball machine with arms and googly eyes, aptly named Gumball Swivelhands.
Pressing the "RETURN TO HUB" button had you transported back to the restaurant. Once there, it was the same as usual. Helpy notifying you, that there was another task available and huh?
You spotted something in the left side corner of the restaurant that wasn't there before. What was weird was that it was something that you've become recently familiar with. Like, a couple of seconds ago.
Standing before you, right next to a bill-to-change machine, with an open smile, extended eyelashes, and a propeller hat was Gumball Swivelhands. How did it get here? Did someone place it here? Could you get a gumball?
No matter the question asked, the answer remained unknown to you. But this goofy gumball machine made you wonder if other prizes you receive will show up here too.
There was only one way to find out.
Back at the computer station, you clicked on the Staff Only folder to presumingly start Fizzy Faz Night 3 but you were shocked to find that the next unlocked file was another corrupted file. In fact, you had another file that was corrupted in addition to that.
This meant there were no more tasks that you could complete in the Staff Only folder until you figured out how to fix these corrupted files.
You stood there, staring at the screen wondering how were you supposed to fix them, until you sighed and closed the Staff Only folder window. There was absolutely nothing you could do, so the only logical choice you had was to pick a different folder to complete for now. Who knows, maybe one prize you will receive from one of these other folders holds the key to the corrupted files.
But which folder should you do next?
(By using a random letter generator and picking the starting letter of a YouTuber's name, we decide what to do next! So the honor of picking the next folder goes to... Huh, I guess there's not a YouTuber that played Help Wanted 2 with L as the first letter in their name.
Alright then, next letter! It's A! Which means Astralspiff!)
You decided to do Ticket Both next as you were curious as to what exactly that entailed. Clicking on the folder caused its popup window to be displayed and revealed what the folder contains. And surprisingly, there were only three things in it. Needless to say, that was much less than what the other folder had.
There were two locked folders and a file that was named Carousel with an icon of its namesake. Looks like this is going to be a little bit more interesting than the other ones too, going by just its name alone.
(Oh joy! It's the Moon minigame!)
Another click brought up the Carousel pop window which stated, "Enjoy a ride on the classical Fazbear antique carousel. May require technical support." Alright, it was time for you to see what this was all about and see what this folder had in store for you. And so with one more click, your vision was covered in black.

Not gonna lie, I was pumped to finish Night 3 of Fizzy Faz in this part. This is the second time where I'm ready to do a two-in-one special within one part! But I guess the Ticket Both minigames are going to have the honor of fulfilling that.
And oh joy, am I excited to get into this carousel minigame as my mind has given me an interesting thought which we'll explore more™ in the next part!

Big update at the end of Part.2, make sure you check it out. It is important.
---
My initial surprise waned as a burning hatred boiled up within me. There was no hesitation in my choice. I dipped my mind into my Spatial Ring and pulled out two syringes; the thick red substance within wobbled with the movement.
I eyed my father and mother, who were faring better against their paladin. We were too close to each other to use a wide area of effect magic, and the stragglers were beginning to gather themselves as a new group of rugged-looking paladins showed up.
Their armor was different, some haphazardly maintained, dented in the shoulders and helmets. Overall, they looked like a band of brigands. The purple articles of clothing and cloaks were thrashed, but the marked-out and desecrated symbols of Amon-Ra were present. They were all members of the Chapter of Despair.
I met my father’s eyes and threw the syringe with all my might. We had talked about using the drugs if things got out of hand. A shadowy hand whipped out from my father and snatched the syringe out of the air. He quickly injected himself in the thigh, and I followed suit.
The effects were almost immediate. I felt my skin get taunt. My veins bulged and pulsed against my skin as my heart thumped in my chest. Sylas’s version of my stimulant was made with purer and higher quality ingredients, as well as being appropriately mixed, which made it all the more potent.
And with it, my emotions exploded out of me.
“Wow, what did you just stab yourself with? I don’t even want to imagine the—”
Alnwar’s words were cut short as he fell to the floor and reached for his own throat, choking on the air around him. The paladins were forced to their knees as well, and all the fighting in the pit had ceased for a moment as the full force of my bloodlust suffocated those around me.
“Alnwar Strongfold. Today is your last day on this planet.”
Power coursed through my muscles and veins as I shot forward like a cannon, aiming straight for the man’s throat. My body became wreathed in golden lightning as white flames danced along my spear’s tip. Alnwar managed to get back to his feet, but he blocked my thrust with shaky hands.
He dodged and blocked my repeated strike, the fear in his eyes and the hesitation in his movements clear. I didn’t give him a moment of respite as I pushed the assault. I swept my spear along his body for a slash and knocked his long sword up into the air.
I repositioned the tip for a thrust to the heart, but the second short sword came up to deflect it. I sent a blast of close-range white fire at him, but he dodged to the side with his tremendous speed. We locked back into a fury of blows, and I continued to push him into a corner. As the fight progressed, the fear of his features lessened as he regained control of himself.
One thing is certain. Alnwar is not a pushover, and judging by his soul, he is at the level of a War God but not nearly at the top like King Maxwell or even a Grandmaster mage like Bowen. This means the stories of him slaying an Exarch must be fabricated lies.
With my heightened senses, I heard the swing and ducked to the side, avoiding the massive war hammer that aimed to crush me into dust. The impact made a crater on the ground, and I went to thrust my sword into the paladin but was forced to react to Alnwar’s attack instead.
I used gravity to force me the opposite way and to the side. My body jerked violently as my equilibrium shattered from the change. It made me want to vomit, but with that unnatural movement, I dodged the attack entirely and went for a counter-attack on Alnwar.
Thankfully, Cerila was right behind to deal with the paladin, and for the first time, her sword came into contact with flesh. The paladin whipped around his hammer with great force that moved the air as blood splattered from a sizable gap in his back. At the time, I also caught a glimpse of my parents.
My mother had left to kill the new Chapter of Despair paladins and allow my father free reign during his battle. A storm of shadows swelled and exploded out toward the paladin, who countered with golden spells of light magic. The intensity of their battle had increased tenfold as it destroyed the land around them, and any unlucky to get caught up in it had their lives snuffed out by tendrils of shadows or bolts of light.
Regardless, my focus remained on the fight at hand as I trusted that Cerila would handle that paladin from here on out. Alnwar had mostly regained his composure and dropped into a low stance. He kept both his short and long sword pointed at me and struck out like a viper.
I had to pay close attention to his body to see which blade would come at me, but I was able to read it with my enhanced body, the increased focus from the combat drug, and years of experience. I went for a leg sweep using my spear as a staff, but Alnwar dodged back out of range.
He shot forward immediately after, and I sent him retreating with another thrust, or so I thought. Alnwar crossed his blades into an x and blocked my spear in the center. He used the momentum to get under and knock my spear up, and instead of retreating like he usually did, he pushed into me.
He shoulder-checked and staggered me, and I watched as the short sword went low and aimed directly at my side. The blade would pierce my side and right into my internal organs.
If it could, that was.
I trusted in Squeak’s and Padraic’s abilities, and instead of backing away, I brought the shaft of my spear down on his head. Alwarn’s grin was disgusting as the blade impacted me, but it was wiped away in a flash as the sound of metal on metal rang out. My spear crashed into his head, and I sent a knee into his gut, knocking him into the air slightly.
With my spear in hand and my body enhanced to its maximum, I pushed Alnwar away and sent him flying into a pile of rubble. I flipped my spear around and pointed the golden horn at Alnwar as I primed a White Fire Lance to end him. It was far easier and faster to cast than a plasma-based spell, and I had already prepared it as he was flying off.
The white fire warped the air as the intense heat boiled off my spear. But within a matter of moments, the spell launched a jagged lance of white flames at Alnwar. However, I sensed an incoming spell core and watched with surprise as a golden hammer sniped the Flame Lance out of the air. The paladin fighting Cerila had taken a brief moment to launch a spell to protect Alnwar.
Honestly, these two paladins are more of a problem than Alnwar at this point.
Cerila was struggling against her opponent. Her movements were sluggish as time went on. She hadn’t slept in a full day, and the long battle was draining her even more. She may actually collapse at any moment.
Alnwar burst out from the rubble and raced toward me, completely unharmed. It seemed even he could use light magic to heal himself. I prepared myself to meet his attack head-on when suddenly Alnwar stopped, skidding to a halt and throwing himself back.
A clump of purple rock collided with the ground making a crater and kicking up a large cloud of debris. There was a thunderous crash to the side as something else impacted the earth by Cerila and the paladin. A massive purple blur moved through the smoke with terrifying agility and speed, and I watched as the paladin swung his war hammer at it.
An armored hand covered in a thick layer of purple crystal impacted the hammer mid-swing and crushed it into dust. The paladin was blown back from the blow, and an armored figure that stood taller than even the massive paladin brought both his hands down and smashed the soldier on his shoulders, forcing him to his knees.
A gust of wind appeared as the crystal figure extended his hands out and back and, with explosive force, went to clap. The paladin’s head and helmet were crushed into a blood mist, his ears touching in the center. The crystal man dragged the body up and hoisted it into the air after.
“Have no fear, for your king has arrived! Let none survive our fury!” King Maxwell shouted into the air, accompanied by his menacing bloodlust.
On cue, there were caws from the air, followed by many blurs in the distance. Spells began raining down from the air on the white robbed assistants and paladins of the Chapter of Despair as Gryphon Riders decimated their ranks.
King Maxwell, covered in his crystal magic, rushed over to me, his face mostly obscured, but I could see the grin on his lips. “Come Kaladin! Let us finish this bastard!”
There was no hesitation as I sprinted to catch up to him. Alnwar scowled and ran full tilt into a group of his allies, but the two of us gave chase. We crashed into the lines of white robes and paladins and began slaughtering them.
With spear and magic, I killed dozens, burning their bodies to a crisp, impaling their chests, and crushing their bones with every swipe of my weapon. King Maxwell made mincemeat of anyone who dared to stand before him. Every punch claimed a life and sent a corpse lying in a sea of their own blood.
The ground was an ocean of crimson as we waded through the corpses of the fallen to Alnwar, who was being healed by a group of priests. His light magic must not have been enough to heal him completely. I sent a Fireball into the group, and Alnwar grabbed and tossed the priest into my spell. The priest exploded as he impacted my spell, his limbs flying off in random directions.
We were just about to attack Alnwar when something changed. My gut twisted into a knot as I sensed an overwhelming power from our side. There was a flash of light from a broken sewer pipe, and something shot out from it. It moved far faster than anything I had yet to see, and I couldn’t make it out at all.
The gust of wind blew past me as it moved straight toward Cerila. My heart leaped in my chest as I sent magic toward it in an attempt to halt its advance; even King Maxwell tossed a disk of purple crystal at it, but our attacks missed entirely.
Cerila was killing off a squad of paladins. Her chest was heaving up and down. Her eyes sunk into her skull, and the signs of intense fatigue all over her. She was late to react to the new attacker.
She brought Hubris up to defend herself, but in the blink of an eye, her entire arm was separated from her body. Her hand, still holding Hubris, spiraled in the air, trailing blood. Time seemed to come to a halt as I watched a knight wearing pristine silver armor jump into the air.
The man was tall but more lanky than muscular. The armor he wore was ornate and shimmered in the afternoon sun. A greenish-white sword that looked like it was made of crystal was clutched in one hand, and strapped to his other arm was an equally ornate shield. It was beautifully crafted, with the symbol of a bright golden sun at its center and white wings coming out from it. I had never seen it in person, but I instantly recognized it, and so did King Maxwell.
An Exarch. The Shield Exarch of the North.
The crystalline sword disappeared into thin air, leaving his hand free. He snatched Hubris out of the air, but the moment he gripped the sword, he was tossed into the ground as if the sword had dragged him. He impacted the ground like a meteor, as King Maxwell and I arrived on top of him.
The Exarch laid on his back, Hubris in one hand, and his shield sprawled out to the side. I thrust my spear down at the fallen man, and King Maxwell went to stomp his head.
“That was unexpected,” the Exarch grumbled in a relaxed tone.
I swore I didn’t even blink, but his shield was suddenly positioned in front of him. I hit the shield with my spear, but it bounced straight off. King Maxwell’s kick was stopped dead in its tracks. A burst of white light flashed from the sun on the shield, and I felt the intense heat and powerful mana, so I dodged back out of instinct.
The magic barely grazed my arm, but I felt my flesh burn, then nothing. I had lost a chunk of my forearm along with my jacket.
An instantly cast spell? From the shield itself?
“Kaladin, stay back. Grab Cerila and take her to Sylvia. I’ll handle this guy,” King Maxwell said in a low voice.
I rushed over to Cerila, who was gripping her missing arm, trying to staunch the bleeding. The Exarach was already back on his feet, trying to pull Hubris off the ground but to no avail. Eventually, he just shrugged and summoned his sword back from his Spatial Ring.
I picked Cerila up and rushed her over to Sylvia. Alnwar might get away, but Cerila’s life was more important. My worry for her overran my seething hatred for him.
I saw that my father had defeated the other paladin. Shadows crawled around him as his purple and black spear embedded into the head of the slumped-over paladin. In the meantime, Sylvia had encased the other three in a sphere of blood and was attacking and killing anyone who approached her.
She cut the head off a white robbed man and looked at me with worried eyes. I handed the moaning Cerila off to her and took over the defense position as spells from the Gryphon Knights rained down.
Cerila let out one final scream before she passed out as her arm began to regrow. I stepped back, let the spells of the knights finish off the last few remaining assailants in this area, and turned my attention to Sylvia.
She pulled away from Cerila’s neck with a frown. “She passed out, but she isn’t in danger anymore.”
“Good, put her in the sphere with the others for the time being,” I requested.
Sylvia nodded, and a tendril of blood snaked out from one of the nearby bodies and wrapped Cerila up, only to crawl itself into a crimson sphere. It was… unnerving a bit, but I had gotten used to it, so there was no reason to be surprised anymore.
Off in the distance, King Maxwell and the Exarch were exchanging blows. Each strike rocked the ground and sent shockwaves across the entire place. Entire sections of the crater were being torn to pieces as the two fought at inhuman speeds.
“So that’s an Exarch…” Sylvia muttered from my side.
“Yes.”
“Can the king win?” Sylvia asked, looking at me from the side.
If Grandpa’s words are to be believed…
“If we threw everything at him, maybe,” I answered.
I was beginning to see what Grandpa meant. King Maxwell, the strongest man on the continent, was not able to land even a single hit on the Exarch. His massive tower shield seemed to move immediately to block and strike, and although his sword was not a Holy Artifact, whenever he swung the blade, it would slice into the King’s crystal armor, taking a massive chunk out of it. Thankfully, it was quickly regrown, but how long could King Maxwell keep up?
My father and mother made their way over to us. The two of them were drenched head to toe in the blood of their enemies and their own as well. Without even needing to be asked, Sylvia immediately healed the two of them.
The three of us watched the two fight, and it was clear that we could not intervene recklessly. King Maxwell was giving it his all, and so was the Exarch. Any slip up would be the end for us.
Eventually, the two men broke apart from each other. Neither of them was winded or wounded. The Exarch stood tall and planted his shield into the ground with a thud.
“It’s an honor to meet the Berserker King face to face. The stories don’t do your strength justice,” the Exarch said humbly.
“Gerimia Foster, the Shield Exarch. Tell me, why have you invaded my kingdom?” King Maxwell demanded.
“All land is equally ours under our god. I have every right to be here. And besides, I think it’s rather obvious as to why I’ve come. But there seems to be an issue…so I’ll be taking my leave now,” Gerimia said.
What? He’s just going to leave?
“What?! We can’t leave now you just—”
Alnwar’s yapping was silenced with a single glance from the Exarch. “I won’t be hearing any complaints from you.”
Gerimia looked up into the sky as Gryphon Knights circled above. “Besides, we are outnumbered, and I don’t intend to wait things out only to starve to death. I’m a defensive specialist; I can’t defeat an army with this many elites alone. We are leaving.”
“As if I’d let you. This hole will be your grave,” King Maxwell snarled.
“No, it really won’t be. But if you want it to be yours, that’s fine with me, Your Majesty,” Gerimia said with a shrug.
King Maxwell shot forward, but he stopped in his tracks. We all felt it. The feeling of dread increased, and the hair on the back of my neck stood at attention. And my body screamed at me to run. It was a familiar sensation, and Sylvia was the first to shout.
“Stop him! He is starting a ritua—”
Sylvia’s warning was stopped just with the Exarch’s voice, I do not permit you to preach to me. You shall all know silence.”
The sun on the shield lit up, and a burst of light flashed. No magic or sudden pain hit us, but there was a definite change. All the sound in the entire crater had ceased as if the world had gone deaf.
King Maxwell rushed forward, but an enormous golden barrier flashed to life. It reminded me of the barrier that Mason erected in Gilcour Thicket all those years ago, but this one was three times as big and covered their entire side in holy light.
“Here all me faithful, I hereby command you, be strong and courageous. Have no fear or dread of them, for your god is with you today.”
Once again, the Exarch’s shield flickered to life. With golden rays, the sun shined, and the wings shimmered, and rays of light streamed out from it. They arced off and danced in the air, and we all watched as they shot down and into the invaders. The white robes and paladins all glowed with a holy light as they began to stand up, examining themselves as if surprised by something.
Even the people who were at death’s door and nothing but limbless corpses began to regrow limbs and stand back up, full of vigor, as they picked up weapons. The only bright side was that the dead stayed dead and did not rise. Even so, we were once again surrounded.
The refreshed mob let out war cries as they rushed us with renewed fervor. Spells from the knights crashed into their ranks just as before, but it appeared as if they were less effective. People were losing body parts from Fire Balls or falling rocks, but they healed almost immediately and got right back up.
The first wave crashed into us, and with Sylvia’s help, the four of us began to fight back. We killed dozens more, and there was a stark difference now. Before, the white-robed people seemed nothing more than civilians, blindly rushing to their deaths. But now, even the weakest amongst them was slightly more robust, which wasn’t much, all things considered, as they still died all the same.
It was also unnerving that we were the only ones that couldn’t speak. Our swords clashing, the cutting of flesh, none of it made any noise. It was only the shouts of zealots and the low hum of a chorus of voices mumbling in sync off in the distance.
Sylvia yelled into the air, like she was breaking free of the silence, and shouted, “Hold them back! They are doing a ritual! I have to try to stop them! Throw the bodies toward me!”
Sylvia jumped back, and blood began to spiral out from the corpses and shoot out into the crowd. The blood pooled on the ground and, like a rushing river, began to flow toward us. The crimson liquid gathered above Sylvia into a massive ball as she quickly mumbled to herself with her eyes closed.
I had no idea what she was doing, but we did as she asked. I thrust my spear into the heart of a woman and tossed her body over my head and into a pile. My mother cut through the hoard with her twin lightning-clad blades as my father used his shadows to launch the bodies backward.
And their souls…they have golden chains around them now…what is happening?

2024.04.29 01:12 Much-Cardiologist-50 Job Search - Tips & Tricks

I have seen so many questions about the job search, getting started, and had a lot of people reach out on my last post so just wanted to put this together - hopefully pretty short and sweet.
Before I dive into it - as a reminder, OE is working two full jobs at the same exact time (typically M-F 9-5 PM) which, by it's definition means that no, you cannot do OE and work in person, or hybrid, these need to be two remote positions. If you are looking to pick up another job outside of your normal work hours then you're just working two jobs, got a side-hustle, or are moonlighting.
This leads us to the first requirement of OE: You must have a remote job. If you do not have a remote job, then OE is not for you.
Resume
Don't just fill your resume with buzz words - it should be a document that makes sense to the average reader. Make it easy for a human to read and understand your experience. Focus on your achievements and the things you actually do.
An exercise I recommend is writing down the top ten things (often skills) that are most important to the type of position you're targeting. It could be as simple as "Communication", or "Cross-collaboration". Once you have those, think back through your experiences for examples of times when you showcased these skills. You can showcase multiple skills in the same bullet (and should). Each of your bullet points should show what you did (usually this is one to three words), how you did it, and why you did it - it's impact. These are your S.T.A.R. answers for interviews, so you should already have some in your back pocket you can pull from.
As an example, say as a project manager I want to highlight that I manage full projects life cycles with external clients, work cross-functionally, and be creative. My bullet might read something like -
Implemented a new process flow to alleviate client pain points through creative, cross-functional, collaboration with internal departments such as legal, quality assurance, and engineering, leading to the creation of a new SOP and additional new business from the client.
You want your resume to be short and sweet. It should not showcase every single highlight of you, or your career. 3-5 bullets max per role and older roles should have fewer bullets (like 1-2, if any). Basically, it's the movie trailer that gets you to buy the ticket to see it in theaters, not the movie itself. A recruiter spends an average of 5-10 seconds on your resume, so put the important stuff first, use a standard template, and make it easy to find information, like skills, education, role titles, etc.
If you’re going to tailor your resume, I’d recommend doing it for each role/industry type. So if you’re looking at data analyst and PM roles in healthcare and finance, you would have a healthcare PM, healthcare data analyst, finance PM, and finance data analyst specific resume (4 total) so you can just pull whichever fits best, but otherwise the time suck isn’t worth it to me to tailor it to every single role.
resume and resumes are great places to post your (de-identified) resume for feedback.
Finding Jobs
If you're just starting to dip your toes into the OE world, make sure your LinkedIn is up to date. If you're trying to pivot roles/industries for your J2 then I would make your bullets there fairly generic, if you include them at all, and focus more on accomplishments.
Solid sites for finding jobs:
It's recommended to go directly to the company website to apply and not use EasyApply, or similar, but I don't have enough info or experience with this to say if there's actually a statistically proven benefit to apply directly on the company website.
Interviews
I mention S.T.A.R. above, which stands for Situation Task Action Result. If you don't know what a S.T.A.R. interview question is, Google it, then draft up 5-10 examples that you can pull out during an interview. Make sure you're focusing more on the A & R than the S & T. These should be short, ~2 minute answers or less.
Do your research on your interviewer(s) beforehand. Know where you can direct the conversation to connect with them on more than just a professional level, like if they live in a city your parents or spouse is from. If this is the second + interview, the previous ones likely gave you hints about what's important to the company, like being flexible, having a good company culture, etc. Note these and play to them in future interviews by tying them into your pre-planned responses.
Remember to have a good response planned about -
  1. Your career path
  2. Why you're leaving your current company
  3. Why this company
  4. Why this role
No matter what, they'll pretty much always ask you about that. Best to just be prepared.
And, sorry, that was not short, but hopefully it was helpful. Good luck!

Blurryface Music Videos/ Important info going in

On 3/16/2015, "Fairly Local" was uploaded to youtube, shoeing in a brand new dark and disturbing era for twenty one pilots. It took place in a frozen and abandoned building, and featured the vocalist, Tyler, in red contacts with his hands and neck covered in black, almost as if the color was swallowing him. It also featured Josh, the drummer, with red hair and intense red eyeshadow playing his drum set while it flew way from him. The video showcased a deep battle between two forces controlling Tyler. Someone named Blurryface, and his actual self. The color red is extremely important in this story, and is always associated with Blurryface and evil. In "Heavydirtysoul" we saw Tyler being driven by an unseen figure, and later on the car caught on fire before almost hitting Josh in the middle of the road, who was also playing a flaming drum set. The burning car is a recurring theme throughout this story, always showing up during moments of personal power or rebellion. The frozen land and snow is also a recurring theme (and this era went unnecessarily hard looking back at it).

The Hiatus (2017-2018)

On July 6th, 2017, twenty one pilots began a year long hiatus with a series of cryptic tweets showing a red eye slowly closing.
(left to right) YOULL HAVE TO COME AND FIND ME MY PRETTY SLEEPER WOULDN'T IT BE GREAT IF WE COULD JUST LAY DOWN? I WILL FEAR THE NIGHT AGAIN
NOBODY DREAMS WHEN THEY BLINK REMEMBER THE MORNING IS WHEN NIGHT IS DEAD AND NOW I JUST SIT IN SILENCE
After almost a year of silence, the gif on top of the Vessel store page updated to show a glitched-out url which brought you to a site called http://dmaorg.info/found/15398642_14/clancy.html.This is where the band would slowly build their new world and tease their new records. They continue to utilize this site for updates to this day.
On 7/2/18, members of their mailing list received an email titled “ARE YOU STILL SLEEPING?” with a gif of a yellow vulture’s eye with clips of Jumpsuit playing in the pupil. The eye officially opened on 7/10/18 with the release of “Jumpsuit” and “Nico and the Niners”, revealing the new logo -//

DMAORG (in a nutshell)

dmaorg.info is a website domain officially created and hosted by the band Twenty One Pilots and used mainly as an online conceptual teaser for their 2018 album "TRENCH". It featured a cryptic background story and important lore information referenced in the songs and music videos of the TRENCH era.
The domain was first discovered by the fanbase on 4/21/2018, during the band’s hiatus between Blurryface and Trench through a link hidden inside the Twenty One Pilots’ official merch store website. The original link led to an exclusive 404 error page, telling the viewer “they’re in violation” and “no one should know about this” while showing a violation code
https://preview.redd.it/rovuirppiaxc1.png?width=1774&format=png&auto=webp&s=d55c5fc13d967bb5d776bbe15bc32f0c8a8319e9

When pasted correctly into the URL of the website, the violation code granted access to another page of dmaorg.info containing journals and images telling the story of Clancy, a disillusioned fictional character living inside a circular theocratic city loomed by huge walls and ruled by nine bishops – the Sacred Municipality of Dema. It sat nestled in the lower region of the large and wild continent of Trench.
brief scroll-through of early dmaorg.info
The religion the city follows is called Vialism, where the end goal is to take your own life as it is the only route to Paradise, and that the bland dystopia they are living in should be embraced. The Bishops' names were a combination of lyrics from different songs on "Blurryface". The Bishops were as follows:
Andre, Lisden, Keons, Nico, Reisdro, Sacarver, Nills, Vetomo, Listo
Andre= fairly local- ANDREpeat yesterday's dance Lisden= Polarize-all I feeL IS DENial Keons= Heavydirtysoul-choKEONSmoke Nico-Stressed Out- N/A Reisdro= Doubt -temperatuRE IS DROpping Sacarver= Tear in My Heart- sheS ACARVER Nills= Goner- beaten dowNILL Slip away Vetomo= Lane Boy- will they be aliVE TOMOrrow Listo= Ride- a LIST Of people
Clancy started to question Dema and Vialism 9 years after arriving. His dismay grew as his struggles with Dema became visible and the call for “more” became stronger, and he formulated a plan to escape, attempting multiple times before Nico (calls himself Blurryface), the head bishop, finds him and brings him back.
He convinced Nico one day to leave the city, and destroyed the car they were driving (events of heavydirtysoul). He succeeds in escaping Nico yet again, but after getting lost in the unknown wilderness of Trench, he grew weary and anxious. Nico found him yet again in a narrow valley 5 days later. This time was different however, as he stumbled across a group of people on the clifftops of Trench. The Banditos, the rebel group he only ever heard rumors of (the events of "Jumpsuit").
After being returned to Dema, the Banditos returned for Clancy and got him out during the Annual Assemblage of the Glorified, which is a disturbing annual ritual that only the most upstanding citizens of Dema called “The Glorified” may attend, where they become the ”Glorious Gone” (they die) and become available vessels for the Bishops to use( events of "Nico and the Niners"). They brought him back to their camp and taught him their ways, but the cycle was just too strong and he was taken back (events of Levitate).
We didn't hear from Clancy again until the release of the "Chlorine" music video, where we were introduced to Ned. In this letter, he talked about his time outside in Trench and noted that he felt torn between the two places, but interestingly enough he called Dema home- something he never thought he could be able to do again.
On 4/2/2021, the website updated to show a progress bar that would result in the site being terminated, and a complete inversion of colors.
On 4/5/2021, all files in the subdomain were deleted and the website showed up an “Account Terminated” message instead, showing that the Bishops had found and overtaken the site, while also hiding some images teasing the next era of the band's projects.

After almost a year of silence, on 3/16/2022 the site updated with a new map of the continent of Trench which introduced the island of Voldsøy-the Norwegian word for “Violence Island.”
Map of the Continent of Trench. Notable locations include the main continent, the City of Dema, Port Vial, and the island Voldsøy
With this map, we saw the return of Clancy and the Torchbearer after they washed up on the island following the events of the Saturday music video. Clancy talked about how he was being used as propaganda, the performance he was to give on the ship for another Annual Assemblage of the Glorified, and how they were attacked by a strange creature under the water. He notes that the Bishops on the ship weren't real. Throughout a couple of days, Clancy lamented about his struggles back in captivity in the city and formulated his plan to take down the bishops, eventually finding a way to succeed.
On 3/17/22, a schematic was uploaded showing steps to some type of ritual labeled as “psychokinesis”, and that they must “seize the available vessel”. On the next line it states that the available vessel is something that could be considered a “Glorious Gone”, so in essence its a dead body.
On March 18th, 2022, Clancy discovered how to perform psychokinesis using a weapon fashioned by some curious little creatures on Voldsøy, affectionately identified as "Ned" (Neuro Expansion Device). They were thought to have been extinct. We see Ned in the Chlorine music video, and hanging out by the fire in “Ned’s cozy fireplace
These little creatures have special antlers that the bishops use for seizing their deceased victims, allowing them to inhabit their body and take control of them until they inevitably start to decay. However, they seem to be working with Keons who betrayed Nico.
We saw these events play out in "The Outside" music video, which is explained further down in the thread.
Fun fact-the neds call each other ned and write letters to each other :D
letter to ned from ned, with a drawing of the \"Trees\" tree visual
"ned,
saw clancy n torch berer jus like keons sed
hope you ar well
-ned"
On 2/13/2024, 1500 scary red letters were sent out to the public by the Sacred Municipality of Dema containing evidence seemingly seized from Clancy's belongings. It included a new letter from Clancy, where he talked about having renewed hope in his plan, an updated map showing the new Paladin Strait between Voldsøy and the mainland of Trench, and a request for information on Clancy's whereabouts from the Bishops of Dema. Both letters included hidden messages, but handwritten was a question.
How did you find http://dmaorg.info/found/15398642_14/clancy.html?

Chlorine Music Video

Watch "Chlorine" here
On 1/22/2019, the "Chlorine" music video was uploaded to youtube. In this music video, we saw an entirely alternate reality than the one we were accustomed to. Tyler and Josh were just some pool-cleaning guys who stumbled across a little funky shy guy in Australia (its Ned). Nothing out of the ordinary there. Over the course of the video, Ned started to come out of his shell as he became very interested in what the boys were pouring into the pool (it was chlorine). Tyler had a cup the whole time, but he merely pondered it instead of taking a sip. During the bridge, when the pool is filled, Ned took a dip and grew a full set of antlers. He sat down with Tyler at the end of the video, where Tyler offered him a sip of his drink and he politely declined while looking mildly disgusted. This video didn’t seem like it had too much lore significance at first. However, its repeated symbolism throughout the story and the return of Ned, the introduction of him coinciding with a letter that seems to directly contradict what we saw in natn/levitate music videos, and his significance later on, it feels too important to not include his origin…

The Hype

Watch "The Hype" here
on 7/26/2019, "The Hype" music video was uploaded after recruiting a bunch of fans to partake. We're invited into Tyler's chest where there's a sick house concert happening, and everything is plaid. Everyone is wearing plaid. As the video progresses, everyone starts wearing more plaid. Even the house is wearing plaid. The camera pans out to the crowd and its just a bunch of people wearing plaid but Ned is there too (he is wearing plaid but he doesn't have antlers). The plaid levels increased to critical amounts, and the house simply could not contain it and it exploded. Tyler and Josh fell back through the roof, and continued their performance layered in flannel as the house rebuilt itself around them. As they slowly took off their tartan shackles, they placed yellow tape over the broken pieces.

Level of Concern ARG

The level of concern ARG was a long, arduous, and extremely complicated online scavenger hunt that was put on by the band in July of 2020. It was designed to last over a week, but we figured it out in 12 hours. It started with a cryptic livestream on youtube that just showed a room of analog tvs that would play a distorted clip of Level of Concern on repeat, occasionally interjected by jarring audio bits. On the tv screens, various gifs and images would cycle through and occasionally a complex code would show up on screen, leading to various webpages and puzzles. There were a total of 20 codes that needed to be entered on usb.twentyonepilots.com. Once code 20 was entered, the first 500 people needed to enter their address, and they received a USB drive in the mail. This usb contained various cryptic files, demos, and goofy images from early in the Vessel era, including a video from Tyler thanking the fans for playing the game and figuring out the codes. Behind him, an analog tv flashes the phrase “Clancy is dead” in code, as can be seen here
Clancy Is Dead (FULL WITH AUDIO)
You can watch the recap of how the codes were found for yourself here.

The Live Experience Control Room

After dmaorg.info was terminated, the site was hiding a few images teasing the new era.
70's style Scaled and Icy promo posters
After the release of “Shy Away”, live.twentyonepilots.com was made available to the public, and we were introduced to our icy yellow-eyed friend, Trash the Dragon. The site led to a control room where you could explore dozens of easter eggs, purchase merchandise, and wait for incoming song premieres leading up to the release of their 6th album “Scaled and Icy” - which happens to be an anagram for “clancy is dead”. It was also here that Dema held their first ever live performance, an event designed to entertain(indoctrinate) the citizens of Dema, and Clancy was the star. However, he was repeatedly referred to as Tyler during the show.

Choker Music Video

Watch "Choker" here
The Choker music video was a very interesting, seemingly light hearted and silly addition to this saga. It started off in a similar manner to the “Chlorine” music video (which is explained further down).
This time, it’s set in a normal area of Columbus, Ohio, and filled with various alleyways (which we could later explore in the Roblox live event…i wont get into that here). Tyler, wearing an orange beanie, walked nervously into a toy store and was met with its employees Josh and Jim (josh’s dog). He got to the counter, and really wanted the blue dragon in the case, but Josh just started drumming. Tyler tried to get his attention, but Josh was locked in and slamming away. Tyler, now frustrated, turned back and explored the shop a little more and was startled by a sudden blue flash.
Something to note, when he turned around the first time, Josh was in the same position he was in when Tyler walked in and the drums were nowhere to be found.
He turned back around and went back to the counter, and Jim had turned into a little toy with a blue bandana. Josh tenderly picked up the little dragon from before and set it on the counter in front of Tyler. He heavily pondered it for a moment, before deciding to yoink it right in front of Josh and dip. Tyler didn’t realize shoplifting was against the rules. Josh chased him down with a massive gun. He caught up with Tyler and shot a giant net at him, knocking him over and encapsulating him, and Josh dragged him back to the shop. Once they reached the front, Josh opened his mouth and just absolutely smited Tyler, turning him into a bobblehead on the shelf next to Jim and the nearly liberated Trash toy.
________________________________________________

The Livestream Experience

The show started off as a 70’s style morning show called “Good Day Dema” with its eccentric hosts Dan Lisden and Sally Sacarver. It opened with Tyler (Clancy) sitting on the couch in between the two bishops looking positively miserable, and the bishops scornfully mocking him and insulting Josh.
Dan Lisden (left), Tyler (middle), Sally Sacarver (right)
Then they transitioned into Choker, a single from Scaled and Icy. The show was a concert filled with various mashups and interesting cutoffs, always being stopped or changed during a song or lyrics about rebellion or personal power. Occasionally, the bishop hosts would come back in little infomercial segments to promote Scaled and Icy, though curiously looking more and more beat up and…for lack of better phrasing they were decaying. The bishops had seized these two people and were living vicariously through their bodies while they slowly rotted during the performance to give off the impression of manufactured joy.
Dan Lisden with blooddrippuing down his shirt during the 2nd informercial break, then actively decaying during the last break
Sally Sacarver looking a little worse for wear (no pun intended)-second infomercial break, then actively cementing herself into my nightmares- Last infomercial break
In the middle of the performance, just before “Lane Boy”, the bishops came on screen with half of their faces painted black reciting the “Stay Low” poem. The last verse of “Redecorate” was put into the end of “Lane Boy”, and was cut off by “Chlorine”. After a solemn moment during Heathens/Trees, Josh returned as the Torchbearer and they performed some songs off of Trench, burning car on stage included. After this segment concluded with heavydirtysoul, the bishops came back for their final infomercial dripping blood and threatening the audience, and then played it off like nothing happened.
The performance carried on, eventually getting to Car Radio where alarms started to blare, and chaos erupted in the studio. “Never Take It” was last on the setlist, performed in a street filled with burning cars and running people. After the song ended, Tyler slowly and begrudgingly trudged back to the first set with the bishops-who were somehow looking completely normal, and finished the end of Choker, and then everyone stood up and clapped.

Saturday Music Video

Watch "Saturday" here
On 7/8/21, the next Annual Assemblage of the Glorified was set to take place. Because of the smashing success of the livestream, the bishops decided to hold a party on a submarine and have Clancy and Josh be the main performers. They sent bishop imposters (bishposters?) to control the ship and make sure everything was going smoothly. Everything did not go smoothly. A massive dragon (trash) attacked the ship, nearly drowning everyone, but 21 people are shown to have survived overall (the other 19 pilots?)

The Outside Music Video/Weapon

Watch "The Outside" here
On 3/18/22, the Outside music video was uploaded after a few days of updates on dmaorg. It began with a visual of Trash, the 9 bishops, and Keons in the center holding a pair of antlers, having been caught controlling Trash and betraying the other Bishops. Then they just start stabbing. Julius Caesar style. not a fun way to go, i won’t lie. The yellow glow in Keons’ eyes dimmed, and so too did the life in Trash as he sank to the ocean floor. Clancy (Tyler??) washed up on the frozen island of Voldsøy, covered in snow. Josh/The Torchbearer came up and picked Clancy up by his collar and they walked off, eventually finding a break in the foliage. They discovered a cliff face with a cave opening, and a little guy welcoming them in. it’s Ned!! They walked through the narrow cave passages, spitting some fire bars on the way, eventually arriving at a rotation you couldn’t have dreamed up better. A bunch of Neds, all hanging out by the fire. The Ned that welcomed them in started to leave through a side cave, but Clancy and the Torchbearer followed. They met Ned on the beach, who broke his antlers to give to Clancy. He posted a schematic for a ritual to harness the power of psychokinesis.

The Neds began performing the motions, and Clancy followed- somehow taking control of Keons’ body. He was an available vessel after all! After emoting in front of the bishops, he destroyed one of the towering lights in front of him. Keons’ body fell to the ground, and Clancy regained control of his own body. He later wrote about the experience in the most recent letter update on dmaorg. After Clancy regained control of his body, he’s seen with the Torchbearer waiting for a signal. On the other side of the Strait, dozens of banditos return the signal, cutting to a blue flaming city behind them
On 3/18/2022 Clancy uploaded the most recent **digital*\* letter to the site
What is this thing? This device? This gift? Some sort of neurological connection or expansion. Psychokinetic weapon? This is absurd. Why was this given to me? Why am I the only one that can wield it? Was this the reason that I survived? My mind is racing as I wait here on the rocks -- staring off into the darkness. Waiting for our torches to be mirrored - the signal he told me to wait for. It feels oddly familiar. Not the spikes in my hand, but the power it harnesses, I've felt it before. Is this also the source of those rumors I heard in the dark corners of the city? Legends and stories that I assumed were myth, inspired by children's nightmares -- tales of what the bishops would use the bodies for. Those "honorable" citizens who acheived The Glorious Gone -- referred to as available vessels. It all begins to make sense. The episodes I would have: the blood red vision, my dreams of flying, the out of body account of the rider in the river, the decaying hosts of the television show, the robed figures that commanded the doomed ship... Had we all been "seized" by the bishops using this same technique? Is this where their power comes from? Are they immortal, or just feeding off the next body, giving their hosts a brief second-life? I am in my original life, why am I available to this control? This whole time I thought I was battling my inner self. Was I actually under assault for something else? someONE else? This small eerie island has made me a weapon. We both believe that we can use it to change the momentum of this war. Now, we must return to the mainland where they should be there to recieve is. We will destroy and rebuild. Though it's been years since he last spoke with them, I hope they have not lost faith in The Torchbearers plan. But how could any of this have been planned? -Clancy

Clancy Era-Where we are now

On 2/13/2024, 1500 scary red letters were sent out to the public by the Sacred Municipality of Dema containing evidence seemingly seized from Clancy's belongings. It included a new letter from Clancy, where he talked about having renewed hope in his plan, an updated map showing the new Paladin Strait between Voldsøy and the mainland of Trench, and a request for information on Clancy's whereabouts from the Bishops of Dema. Both letters included hidden messages, but handwritten was a question.

I Am Clancy

Watch "I am Clancy" here
On 2/22/24, a new spoken letter was uploaded to the youtube from Clancy, basically narrating what you just read. In a portion of the video where it shows the map of Dema, Keons' tower is grayed out. He explained his story, what happened to the Bishops, and how he's an exception to the strange powers the Bishops wield. He's taking back his own identity, and he is going to return to Trench to finish what he's started.

Red Tape

On 2/17/2024, the band updated their studio album covers to include red tape. The best running theory is that the red tape signifies bishop control. That's why keon's circle is taped, why trash is taped, why clifford is taped specifically to cover leave the city. the city is still under bishop control, and the vultures are property of Dema for surveillance. since the grandfathers are taped, and trench is in the shape of a brain, i can only assume that insinuates that the bishops have control over the continent somehow since many ideas from vessel are used in this story. or, to go along with my other theory in the next part, clancy is so focused on getting back to trench that its clouding his vision
the red tape seems to only be partially (but still almost fully) covering the eyes of the subjects on the cover
________________________________________________

Important details that couldn't really fit anywhere

  • Nico is the only bishop without matching lyrics, and he is repeatedly noted to not be present at gatherings with the other 8 bishops
  • There is a tie to "Nicholas Bourbaki" which was a pseudonym for a group of French mathematicians that formed after the first world war in response to needing to use dated texts for scholarly work due to a generation of their mathematicians being slaughtered. Their goal was to publish updated and accurate information when there was none available. The name is mentioned in "Morph", they also came up with the mathematical ø.
  • the bishops cannot see yellow, that is why it is the color of the rebellion, and blue means defeat according to blurryface's twitter.
  • Nico has been known to be the harshest bishop, while Keons stands out as the most compassionate and kind according to Clancy.
  • KEONS IS THE ONE WHO WAS STABBED AND KILLED. NOT NICO. we saw this during The Outside, and he was shown during "I am Clancy" with further confirmation from Mark
part 2 is continued here <3
If i have missed anything you feel is deeply important to understanding the basics of the lore, please let me know!! I’m going to be updating this thread as things come in. In the meantime, i hope this answers your basic questions and happy theorizing!

Wheelchair Ramps 101 - DIY down and dirty edition 2024
Thanks for deciding to read my post today. This is not the definitive or complete explanation of wheelchair ramp design. Before I start let's get the technical potentially legal stuff out of the way first.
Ramps that are indoors or in a fenced in area like a back yard (THE FENCED AREA MAY BE DIFFERENT IF IT IS ACCESSIBLE TO THE PUBLIC). Ramps not used by the public = Food delivery, mailperson, utility meter reader, Jahova's Witnesses, etc.
These Ramps do not need to Meer ADA requirements. But should still be functional and safe to use. You'd be surprised at what people do. But if it works, then it works.
Backyards that are fenced in and not accessible to the public MIGHT be excluded.
FOR ANY RAMP OR ACCESSIBLE FEATURE ADDED TO OITDOOR SPACES THAT THE PUBLIC CAN ACCESS WILL 100% NEED A TOWN OR CITY PERMIT. THIS IS WITHOUT EXCEPTION.
Here is where it gets real. If you decide to ignore this and say someone trips, slips pr otherwise gets injured by your accessibility fearure. YOU and only YOU are at fault. Even if it is 100% ADA compliant, the feature was not properly registered with the town or city so it can be noted when and where it is installed and on what property.
Next the town or city will fine you a set amount per day it was in place without a permit. For example a permit for my handcycle shed cost $100 that might seem unfair and costly. But if I had just built my shed without permit they could fine me $1,000 per day it was up from the time it was built.
Getting a permit and making things 100% or better than ADA complaint, yes it is easy to surpass what the ADA asks for. ADA is the bare minimum expected.
This doesn't mean someone trying to con you won't try and sue you. But, if you have things in order such as getting a permit. Making things at least ADA compliant will support your side in a legal issue.
Yup that is the borish stuff for the most part. Forget about it and life will likely get very annoying.
For those who are interested and want a live community to chillax in to talk about most anything really, listen to music and make requests for Fave songs or topics you would like to discuss.
I broadcast live typically in the cold months M-F from around when my pain allows me to get up varies 9am to after noon and I go until my sweetheart arrives home. About 5PM to 6PM I have been broadcasting live 16 years.
Quite literally I am just repeating here what I will talk about live also.
TikTok until the ban kicks in. Then it's back to Twitch. AbiliTV or AbiliTV Live. If you Google the name do not pay attention to the website I don't have one. And the owner of that sight well let's say I don't endorse him.
I am on YouTube, FB, IG,,Twitch, account still there but not used since it went to X (Twitter), Kick - although I don't like the vibe on Kick.
Of course I am here getting started here on Reddit in a more text based community. I am in the Wheelchair and Disabilities communities where I am learning about all sorts of amazing people.
OK, I always hate posting I am a live content creator. I hate it so much I have hardly any community live.
Ramps.
What makes a crappy, good, or excellent ramp?
For me it is the little details that really make the differences. I will use images to try and explain the bare basics.
1st image: Most people see this and think: My prayers have been answered.
No they have not. You will notice the direction the person is using the ramp. Manufacturers do this to play into your desperate need for a ramp solution. They want you imagining how easy there ramp is to use. So they stage images showing that. Much how homes are staged. To make it easier for people to fall victim to slick sales tricks.
What if the door were closed and rhe person was approaching the door? Look at the ramp. How does one say open s screen door or storm door that swings out? Most dwellings will have one.
Now imagine it's raining really hard and that nice metal surface isn't as grippy? And you have a bag or two of groceries on your lap. Now open the storm door and then before it closes as they are typically on a door closer of some design. As you fight the storm door, are annoyed by the driving rain, and fumbling for your keys.
Even on an ideally perfect day without snow or rain this ramp will work 100% against you. Also it isn't wide enough to allow you to move over out of the way ofcthe storm door. Meaning you need to back up and get the door perched against your wheelchair frame to now roll foward to open the entry door. Sadly using the wheelchair brakes just make things all that much more frustrating.
2nd Image: 3 ft ramp $219. This seems decent right? It isn't. You have to account for the pitch or slope.
If you have a threshold that is 10 inches higher than the surface you need to reach, this means you need not just a ten foot long ramp but a raised area that meets the threshold that the ramp attaches to closest to the surface you're trying to reach.
What happens if you decide to use a short ramp and have a steeper slope? The worst will be to flip backwards going up. Next worst you don't have the upper body strength to make it. The next will be you deciding never to use it except to exit with. It is a little less scary going down. Although you need really good hand strength and dexterity to maintain control at higher speeds.
ADDING INFO AS A SAFETY REMINDER: Most manual wheelchairs have what are called brakes. ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ These are NOT brakes like those of a car, or bicycle. Injury or worse can happen when they are used as friction brakes. DANGER: You risk not only destroying your tire and wheelchair but also injuries from catastrophic failures of the tire and possibly the rims of the wheels.
These levers no matter if they are push or pull to lock or scissor styled brakes are only meant and made to hold you in place AFTER you use your hands to stop with. OR FEET for those able to do that.
The reason these are not brakes in the typical sense is because of how they work. They bite into the tire material and can blow out air filled tires by ripping through the rubber tire. On solid tires they can tear the tire causing it to fail and possibly fall off the rim. If the rim is left exposed and you are moving the metal or composite rim will slide on the surface.
The biggest excuses I hear for using these levers as brakes are: They are called brakes. YouTube wheelchair brake basics how to use and not use them. I don't want people ending more disabled than they already are.
My hands are to weak to stop me. I understand that. So my best suggestion is rubber coated work gooves. Leather gloves or some form of glove that you like to use. I personally don't like wearing gloves, but when I go on 16 mile strolls I wear a pair. They provide additional traction and that grip means less hand strength is needed to stop overall. It is not recommended to grab the tire for additional friction at any time while moving down hill.
If tire use us needed make sure you have a pair of heavy duty leather gloves on. Welding gloves short gauntlet works. Warning: This method destroys gloves rapidly. These is due to the sandpaper like friction the tire creates with its texture and tread design. Extreme heat can build up and burn your hands. So pay attention and release grip changing hand positions to reduce this.
Ramps have to be designed to work with the fact wheels like to roll. And steep ramps are what prompted my warning about brake use.
I am considering designing a brake system to work like a bicycle that could be added by most people. I will look into this concept at some point.
So a stubby short ramp might be low cost but isn't the answer it appears in most manufacturers images.
Lots of information that needs to be shared because so many people will fall into the thinking what they have is a good solution and it's harming them and the equipment they use.
Good news here: Most towns and cities do not charge or keep the charge very low for ramp and other disability access devices in public spaces.
What the permit does is show you the bare minimum of what is required to make your project ADA compliant. Also it resistors your ramp or lift with the town or city and at what property. This way should a nosy neighbor want to whine about your project looking horrible the town or city can reassure that negative rube that you are in full compliance with all the ordinances and ADA requirements. So they can mind their own beeswax.
Also the permit is a must if a property owner or landlord are to allow the access in the first place. This has to do with liability and property insurance. Speaking of that crap it would be wise to invest in renters insurance in the event someone claimsxto have been injured by your device. Do not depend only on the landlord or property owner's word that its covered. You could also ask your town or city how that works also to get a straight answer. If the landlord or property owner does claim you are covered always get that in writing.
3rd image shows the lack of what is called a staging area. This is exactly what a porch does. Notice the porch is flat and provides room to move out of the way of any storm door? This is a super important and all to easy to miss feature that makes a ramp go from frustrating to awesome.
I even made that mistake with my ramp I built for my garage. I did change it so it has a 6ft deep 4ft wide same as the ramp staging area that once I installed a screen door I use daily.
4th image: Now it gets colorful. Nothing attaches to the porch or the building in my design. This is to respect the property. And save you on extra costs to restore things later.
The support for the flat area of the porch:
Measure uo to the front top edge of the threshold. Say this is 6 inches or so... Using 4X4 cut to the same width of the porch. These are rated for outdoor ground contact.
Next using decking wood this should be equal to the top front edge of the threshold. In effect the timbers are the support they are orange and just on top of the porch. They go across to provide full support.
How to determine how many. For the porch shown in your image would likely use three. One right under the threshold, one in the middle, and one right along the front edge of the porch.
Decking would go left to right and for the parts with out full support use scrap pieces of 4X4 to position under those rows.
An alternative way to set the supports are: under the threshold is left to right full width of porch. Then instead of the others being left to right. Place one on the left going vertical or not left to right. One on the right side going perpendicular to fhe horizontal one. Then you will cut one 4 inches short for the center also placed parallel to the left and right. The front porch edge piece cut to fit the width between the left and right support.
That would allow you to place decking horizontally left to right with out worry of adding support for some of the deck strips.
The front edge of porch part I feel should be left to right mainly to insure there is no possible way for a ramp to flext or bow in this area. But you are welcome to Google methods on building something like this also.
The ramp for the porch will be the longest most likely based on the photos you shared. They are also referenced later in my post.
Only around the porch and the outside of the caster wheel guides on each side or the blue color in my image needs a railing, as well as down that first ramp.
The other ramps are little more than the plywood laying there. You wouldn't even really need the blue guides on the but they add additional stiffness from bouncing and bending.
Again Google is very good for finding examples of how you can design a capable railing. It doesn't need to be fancy, just meet the requirements the ADA sets. To avoid annoying splinters I strongly suggest using iron pipe or proper outdoor rated round railingbars.
Benefit of the metal pipe is it is very low cost. Con is in the sun it can get hot. To overcome thar railing grip tape can he used to cancle out the hot part and make it easier to grasp. Grip tape is not required.
Thankfully all of this is pretty easy to do if you have some some basic tools or have access to them like narrowing them. If you lack the skill or ability to do this. Trust me when I say buying lunch each day for the hard worker(s) often is payment enough. And Thank You is the perfect payment. Our reward is seeing you enjoying the work put into the project.
Last there is an green outline of a 2x4 on each side of the porch staging area. Put one on the far side as well and this should keep the staging area from shifting leftcand right. Surfaces endure a lot more force than we realize.
5th image I used my garage ramp before I corrected the flat staging area issue.
So this isn't how my indoor ramp now looks. It has no railings as it is not required and the flat area towards the garage side has a 4 inch tall wheel guard wall to keep me from accidentally rolling off front casters or rear wheels.
But, this is roughly how your front porch would look like. All designed to keep everyone safe who uses it.
By connecting the ramp to the flat staging areas makes it much harder for it to shift around. In the case of this if you owned the property you would use a contractors grade waterproof glue and 4 8 inch long lag bolts to secure the 4x4 or wood support right next to and under the threshold and bolt it and glue it to the location. Silicone sealant works also as it is mainly to keep insects from making the area home.
But since the property needs to be returned to original state, I find that making a saddle staging area works wonders. Sadlle in that it is,like a horse saddle. It isn't bolted to the horse but does use the shape of the horse as the stabilizer. And is easy to remove when needed.
Image 6: Sorry about the messy drawing. This is your photo.
The green is the railing around the porch and the first longest ramp.
The light kind of red horizontal strips are stair tread grip tape. Using wood screws shorter than the thickness of the plywood allows you to have a 2 method way to keep these strips in place. For how much they cost you will thank me. One screw near each corner and two one top one bottom in the center. This insures they are secure. The gue or adhesive isn't likely going to stick in every case.
You want full left to right coverage with 2 to 3 inch spacing between each horizontal strip. Yes you can just apply them centered and hope no one slips of they walk closer to the railing. Plus it makes insurance companies feel better also with more safety in mind.
In the event someone slips or falls when pictures are taken of l the scene it will look better for you to have provided more safety than not.
Also more screws can be used if desired. The only thing to make sure of is all screw heads are flat to the surface. The two method way also known as redundant measures to make sure things don't fail to the point of a catastrophe.
The ADA will likely have other suggestions different than I mention. Either will work, I find much of my ideas go beyond ADA requirements.
The ramps since they are so minor in slope may even be able to lay strips of 2x4 or even 1x1 that you screw to the underside of ramp. I almost think you could make what would look like a continuous ramp.
One step won't really need all 8 ft of plywood however keeping them full length means you could likely add smaller pieces where one ramp ends to meet with the highest point so you can connect them so this keeps them from shifting and moving as they will.
The little green marks along the sides of the blue for the length of the ramp represent side supports that are rounded into the ground and screwed to the sides.
As you use a ramp that is not secured it will move a little in the opposite direction of your direction of travel.
Also it will shift left or right when you first roll onto it. And since the ground shown is easy to return to its original condition once this is removed lowers cost at that time.
The blue dots represent horizontal srips placed where needed these are screwed in place as yes they will slide and move into new positions that don't support the ramp.
The goal is no bouncing, bending, flexing, warping ramps.
As long as all wood is rated for ground contact otherwise it will rot away pretty quickly otherwise.
The blue kind of bloody areas are flat sections filled in with plywood.
So once you enter this ramp ot remains a plywood surface until the porch area. Where it's decking.
7th image: An example of how your ramp could be designed. In this image since the ramp os longer and rises up higher I definitely would include ratings on each side. But - it may not require them so that is OK also. The redish area is a flat area at least 5 ft deep and 4ft wide. This would allow a person the chance to turn around also.
The circled spots denote support placement.
Now your steps for me would not need a ramp as I can strong arm my way up short steps or curbs like those. Tha porch would be the only area I would build if this were my place.
8th image: Immediately after moving in I built this and prior to finding the original screen door that the price owners removed and I reinstalled.
It was no fun using this ramp when I had to open the door. I typically had one of the kiddos now all grown up open it first for me.
The lack of a staging or flat area is a huge mistake.
This is ground contact outdoor rated plywood nearly 1 inch thick. Plywood keeps the construction simpler, and removal easier also later.
9th image: Shows the outdoor ramp. Notice the grip tape on this. This is the typical arrangement. I suggest side to side full width strips so able people can walk anyplace and be assured solid footing. The spacing I prefer also assures wheelchair tires have solid grip.
The steeper the ramp I say 3 inches between horizontal strips.
The shallower ramps for your lower or step ramps can be 4 to five inches between them. If they are wide strips works better.
Image 10: This is the ADA recommendation: 36 inches wide. Trust me especially for entry doors you want some space to move over to the side to get out of the way of a screen or storm door. And a place to put down groceries or a package or anything else so you can access the door.
48 inches just happens to be a pretty decent and better than ADA requirements that allows you more room for any purposes.
Image 11: Shows your porch. From what I see this should be pretty easy to cover with the staging area over the porch and ramp going down.
You want to measure from the front edge ofcthe threshold to the ground in front of the porch the walkway leading to it. This will give you a total height that needs to be accounted for.
Say it is a total of 10 inches tall. Your ramp will be 1 foot out per one inch in height. So 10 feet long. Now say you have the room and used 2 8 foot long plywood sheets end to end that is 16 ft. That means your slope will be less overall and easy to roll up. 10 ft will be usable but will be a little harder to roll up.
Funny thing is you use the same energy to roll up 10ft or 16ft. You just exert less energy over a longer distance that still equals the amount it takes to go up a 10 foot length.
Slope is something only you know what works for you. So if you need a little longer of a ramp if room allows it then that is fine.
Oh I forgot skip over the smaller step when making your measurements. That isn't where a ramp will end at to rest.
Image 12: The walkway. These little steps are easily rolled up by some wheelchair users. However of you can not. That is fine.
The over all length of these looks decently long enough. You in effect are just governing them as I hope I explained.
To keep the ramps from moving side spikes can be placed as mentioned 2 at the sides and top, two in the middle sides. And 2 and the bottom sides.
They get rounded into the ground next to each area of the Ramos they will be screwed to. You might even be able to lay a plywood sheet down and see if that is enough to raise you up enough. That the plywood could just lay on the walkway.
Now most likely that option will not fully work. Offered as an alternative.
The very end where ramp ends or starts at the lowest point you can get an aluminum door threshold commercial grade one. It means a little bump up onto the ramp and or down it.
I will photograph the one I have as it works like a charm. Also the rest of my garage ramp.
The deck to ramp can be connected using lag bolts from underneath into the 2 4x4 support. Using 6 or preferred 7 or 8 inch long lag bolts 3 of them to secure the ramp to the staging deck area.
Trust me when I say this, this is a mere drop in the bucket of information on how to design a ramp system.
Last little note:
Always get a permit prior making anything. The permit should cost nothing or very little since it is an accessibility ♿️ need. The information the permit comes with will also be of huge help in DIY or other options.
Sadly there is no way to construct something like this for no cost. However, church groups, friends, local elected officials, and others can be great resources. From fundraising, to helping you locate a foundation or charity to help cover some or all of it.
Do not feel bad for asking for help like this and when needed. Being a renter doesn't mean you should not have accessibility.
Like I mentioned if I was your fellow disabled neighbor I would help construct this.
Tools needed:
Tape measure x 2 I always end up needing 2 of them at times.
4 ft level.
Carpenter square.
Torpedo level. This is a 1 foot long smaller level like the larger 4ft one.
Carpenter or construction style pencil ✏️ they are flat and don't roll away when sat down.
Wood/deck screws 3 or 4in long.
Cordless drill and 2 batteries allows rotation of them when charging. They typically will last 2 or hours each. So when one runs out charge it while using the other.
Leather work gloves.
Socket wrench set for lag bolts.
Screw driver set. Mainly a number 2 Phillips and flathead. These come in handy.
Circular saw - they come corded or cordless either works.
Hand saw for those cuts to awkward for a power tool.
Drill bits for pre drilling holes.
Liquid nails to glue some things together.
Short wood screws not longer than the plywood is thick. For the grip tape strips.
Safety glasses get a few pair.
Hearing protection. Cutting wood can be really loud. Same with drilling it and all.
Things that could help: Something stable to place wood to be cut on.
Saw horses or milk crates the sturdy plastic ones. If they get cut into no big deal.
They cut be cut safely on the ground without risk of damaging tools or injuring you.
Since we are all in the same boat 🚢 in many respects, I find it sp satisfying helping people by helping them learn how they can also help themselves. It's how I was raised. Knowing you have some information and know where to locate more is my payment.
Back to me talking about my live content.
A lot like this post and my others, it is insanely boring stuff. 😴
However, I ask what other content creator is willing to discuss and cover this type of stuff?
Really go look on Twitch live, YouTube live, TikTok Live, Kick,Instagram Live or any other site allowing live content.
How many do you find that can answer questions or get you aimed in the correct direction for the information you need?
16 years now this is what I do for free. I will not and do not monetize my content. I removed myself from Twitch affiliate orogram, I have asked TikTok to allow offboarding and the option to not monetize.
I prefer to lead by example.
Please consider getting to know this strange goofball of a weirdo on my social media channels. It's not a big community but any means and is well sp unique that most people fail to realize all the nerdy disability related bits of knowledge I have to share. Plus I love light sabers and anime to make me extra geeky.
AbiliTV and AbiliTV Live on the main social media platforms.
On TikTok my actual username is AbiliTV and my screen or showing name is DJ Wheelchairbeats.
If you visit tell me your from Reddit and I will in a very socially awkward way greet you. Well I hope with practice this gets less awkward in time. :)
I am not seeking a relationship. Or any side quests. I am at level 54 in my life and to old to give a fart for drama. Making cool new friends, now that's what it's about.
Time to get some photos of my garage ramp.

2024.04.28 23:20 PaganScum Any Words of Wisdom?

My JW sibling contacted me and expressed that they really want to get to know me and my family and have a relationship with us…Followed by an inordinate amount of love-bombing. I assume this is because of the recent changes made by their overlords in NY. Part of me really wants them to just f-off into the sunset and go have a happy life somewhere far, far away from me, like they’ve been doing for the past 30 years. However, some things they said, certain verbiage they used, a tone in their voice, gave me the distinct impression that they’re secretly questioning their religion. Don’t get me wrong, they’re still very much PIMI, using all the usual language (“The Truth”, etc.). One thing they said that makes me think they may be PIMQ is “do you know anything better than the JW religion?” It makes me sad that they are so weak minded that they feel they have to follow anyone or anything, but I understand that is the human nature of most people. They said that when people leave “the organization”, they lose all their morality. I looked around my house while they were talking and saw my kids’ Harry Potter books, my endless number of science books, our Christmas tree in storage in the garage, my teenager walking around in his Ozzy Osborne t-shirt. We lived together before we had kids. Basically, we do or have done pretty much everything that they consider to be “immoral”. I love my life and wouldn’t change it for anything. But, if the subject comes up (which I’m sure it will), how do I explain to their fundamentalist brains that their level of morality is simply impossible, or at least unsustainable for most people. It's just a tool used to control them. I try to live by the golden rule. I don’t want to be disrespectful to them at all. I have no desire to control other people, so I’m always perfectly happy to let them believe whatever they want. At the same time, I’d like to answer that with something that will make them think. Any words of wisdom from this community would be very much appreciated!

2024.04.28 20:57 Walkaway20 Opinion This May Be Our Last Chance to Halt Bird Flu in Humans, and We Are Blowing It (Gift Article)

Zeynep Tufekci is a professor of sociology and public affairs at Princeton University, the author of “Twitter and Tear Gas: The Power and Fragility of Networked Protest” and a New York Times Opinion columnist.
[The outbreak of H5N1 avian influenza among U.S. dairy cows, first reported on March 25, has now spread to at least 33 herds in eight states. On Wednesday, genetic evidence of the virus turned up in commercially available milk. Federal authorities say the milk supply is safe, but this latest development raises troubling questions about how widespread the outbreak really is.
So far, there is only one confirmed human case. Rick Bright, an expert on the H5N1 virus who served on President Biden’s coronavirus advisory board, told me this is the crucial moment. “There’s a fine line between one person and 10 people with H5N1,” he said. “By the time we’ve detected 10, it’s probably too late” to contain.
That’s when I told him what I’d heard from Sid Miller, the Texas commissioner for agriculture. He said he strongly suspected that the outbreak dated back to at least February. The commissioner speculated that then as many as 40 percent of the herds in the Texas Panhandle might have been infected.
Dr. Bright fell silent, then asked a very reasonable question: “Doesn’t anyone keep tabs on this?”
The H5N1 outbreak, already a devastating crisis for cattle farmers and their herds, has the potential to turn into an enormous tragedy for the rest of us. But having spent the past two weeks trying to get answers from our nation’s public health authorities, I’m shocked by how little they seem to know about what’s going on and how little of what they do know is being shared in a timely manner.
How exactly is the infection transmitted between herds? The United States Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention all say they are working to figure it out.

According to many public health officials, the virus load in the infected cows’ milk is especially high, raising the possibility that the disease is being spread through milking machines or from aerosolized spray when the milking room floors are power washed. Another possible route is the cows’ feed, owing to the fairly revolting fact that the U.S. allows farmers to feed leftover poultry bedding material — feathers, excrement, spilled seeds — to dairy and beef cattle as a cheap source of additional protein.
Alarmingly, the U.S.D.A. told me that it has evidence that the virus has also spread from dairy farms back to poultry farms “through an unknown route.” Well, one thing that travels back and forth between cattle farms and chicken farms is human beings. They can also travel from cattle farms to pig farms, and pigs are the doomsday animals for human influenza pandemics. Because they are especially susceptible to both avian and human flu, they make for good petri dishes in which avian influenza can become an effective human virus. The damage could be vast.
The U.S.D.A. also told me it doesn’t know how many farmers have tested their cattle and doesn’t know how many of those tests came up positive; whatever testing is being done takes place at the state level or in private labs. Just Wednesday, the agency made it mandatory to report all positive results, a long overdue step that is still — without the negative results alongside them — insufficient to give us a full picture. Also on Wednesday, the U.S.D.A. made testing mandatory for dairy cattle that are being moved from one state to another. It says mandatory testing of other herds wouldn’t be “practical, feasible or necessarily informative” because of “several reasons, ranging from laboratory capacity to testing turnaround times.” The furthest the agency will go is to recommend voluntary testing for cattle that show symptoms of the illness — which not all that are infected do. Dr. Bright compares this to the Trump administration’s approach to Covid-19: If you don’t test, it doesn’t exist.
As for the F.D.A., it tells me it hasn’t completed specific tests to confirm that pasteurization would make milk from infected cows safe, though the agency considers it “very likely” based on extensive testing for other pathogens. (It is not yet clear whether the elements of the H5N1 virus that recently turned up in milk had been fully neutralized.) That testing should have been completed by now. In any case, unpasteurized milk remains legal in many states. Dr. Bright told me that “this is a major concern, especially given recent infections and deaths in cats that have consumed infected milk.”
Making matters worse, the U.S.D.A. failed to share the genomes from infected animals in a timely manner, and then when it shared the genomes did so in an unwieldy format and without any geographic information, causing scientists to tear their hair out in frustration.
All this makes catching potential human cases so urgent. Dr. Bright says that given a situation like this, and the fact that undocumented farmworkers may not have access to health care, the government should be using every sophisticated surveillance technique, including wastewater testing, and reporting the results publicly. That is not happening. The C.D.C. says it is monitoring data from emergency rooms for any signs of an outbreak. By the time enough people are sick enough to be noticed in emergency rooms, it is almost certainly too late to prevent one.
So far, the agency told me, it is aware of only 23 people who have been tested. That tiny number is deeply troubling. (Others may be getting tested through private providers, but if negative, the results do not have to be reported.)
On the ground, people are doing the best they can. Adeline Hambley, a public health officer in Ottawa, Mich., told me of a farm whose herd had tested positive. The farm owner voluntarily handed over the workers’ cellphone numbers, and the workers got texts asking them to report all potential symptoms. Lynn Sutfin, a public information officer in the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, told me that response rates to those texts and other forms of outreach can be as high as 90 percent. That’s heartening, but it’s too much to expect that a poor farmworker — afraid of stigma, legal troubles and economic loss — will always report even mild symptoms and stay home from work as instructed.
It’s entirely possible that we’ll get lucky with H5N1 and it will never manage to spread among humans. Spillovers from animals to humans are common, yet pandemics are rare because they require a chain of unlucky events to happen one after the other. But pandemics are a numbers game, and a widespread animal outbreak like this raises the risks. When dangerous novel pathogens emerge among humans, there is only a small window of time in which to stop them before they spiral out of control. Neither our animal farming practices nor our public health tools seem up to the task.
There is some good news: David Boucher, at the federal government’s Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response, told me that this virus strain is a close match for some vaccines that have already been formulated and that America has the capacity to manufacture and potentially distribute many millions of doses, and fairly quickly, if it takes off in humans. That ability is a little like fire insurance — I’m glad it exists, but by the time it comes into play your house has already burned down.
I’m sure the employees of these agencies are working hard, but the message they are sending is, “Trust us — we are on this.” One troubling legacy of the coronavirus pandemic is that there was too much attention on telling the public how to feel — to panic or not panic — rather than sharing facts and inspiring confidence through transparency and competence. And four years later we have an added layer of polarization and distrust to work around.
In April 2020, the Trump administration ousted Dr. Bright from his position as the director of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, the agency responsible for fighting emerging pandemics. In a whistle-blower complaint, he alleged this happened after his early warnings against the coronavirus pandemic were ignored and as retaliation for his caution against unproven treatments favored by Donald Trump.
Dr. Bright told me that he would have expected things to be much different during the current administration, but “this is a live fire test,” he said, “and right now we are failing it.”]

2024.04.28 20:29 TitanAura Ruijerd Superdia: A Lesson in Overcoming Tragedy (LN + Redundancy Spoilers)

Ruijerd Superdia is a relatively simple man to understand. Straightforward, stalwart, and diligent; Ruijerd is seemingly incapable of any form of dishonesty or chicanery of any kind. It only makes sense then that such a taciturn man, who prefers to speak through actions rather than words, would so easily relate to children specifically because of their straightforward, honest nature and difficulty to verbally communicate their feelings. Kids, try as they might, are terrible liars after all and, like Ruijerd, tend to adhere to Black-and-White Morality, exhibiting their difficulty in comprehending perspectives outside of their own extremely narrow worldview. If nothing else, Ruijerd can trust that a child will never betray his expectations.
As honed as his detection skills are, Ruijerd's awkward, naive personality leaves him unable to peer into the hearts of others and vulnerable to deception. For anyone familiar with eastern spiritualism, the irony of Ruijerd possessing a third eye is likely obvious. The third eye (or "Ajna") usually denotes "intuition and the ability to see things beyond what you see on the surface." Unfortunately for Ruijerd, the implementation of this concept is only as a very literal "6th sense" and acts more like a "spiritual sonar" than any sort of indication of enlightenment. This inability to parse Laplace's true intentions when recruiting the Superd tribe into the war effort and later adoption of the black spears (against the reservations of his more discerning followers) is directly responsible for the horrific, tragic deaths of his comrades, tribe, and family.
Since the war, the Superd race has been hunted, scorned, and nearly eradicated in retaliation for Ruijerd's heinous crimes. Even had he not personally slain his own kin, the blood of his people (and THOUSANDS of other innocent lives) is both literally and figuratively on his hands. Obviously it would be simple to lay most of the blame at the feet of Laplace for his deception but is this situation starting to feel a little familiar? For anyone as incompatible with innuendo as Ruijerd, don't worry, I'll elucidate.
Ruijerd Superdia is, like most of the cast, a foil to Rudeus Greyrat. More specifically, Ruijerd most closely parallels Oldeus were he to have continued living on well after the series of tragedies that drove him to become obsessed with revenge and consumed by hatred. Both lost their community and families as a result of being tricked by a charismatic greater being, destroyed their reputation, became internationally wanted criminals, and stubbornly refuse to acknowledge their complicity in their own downfall (I realize how harsh that sounds, but bear with me I am going somewhere with this).
While they carry with them an overwhelming sense of self-loathing and regret over their failures, they place an inordinate level of the blame for their actions at the feet of Laplace/Man-God respectively as the sole source of their misery, blind to how their current actions and unwillingness to let go of their hatred actively impedes their ability to gain newfound happiness and connections. Oldeus unfortunately dies before he has any such opportunity for further development, consumed by hatred, his heart full of regret at a life wasted on revenge. Ruijerd, however, blessed (or cursed) with an extremely long lifespan continues to live on even after achieving his revenge, a shell of his former self. It is with this understanding that we can see how the influence of the Greyrats slowly, but surely, shifts his perspective. And yes, I do mean Greyrat(S) as in plural, because we have 2 people to thank for this.
First is Rudeus, whose commitment to helping Ruijerd pushes him to challenge Ruijerd on his dangerously simplistic Black-and-White moral code that dictates anyone he deems to be "evil" must be killed. Ruijerd shaves his hair to avoid trouble and (despite some bumps along the way) commits to giving this "not murdering evildoers" thing a shot after witnessing Rudy's resolve to keep Eris safe (unless you're literally buying, selling, and murdering children in which case fair game, spear go BRRR). Finally, near the end of their travels together Rudeus confides in Ruijerd the reason for his oft strange behavior; his conversations with the Man-God and, to Ruijerd's shock and (justifiably) intense bittersweet joy, the revelation that not only were his people under the effects of a curse of hatred this entire time but that said curse has faded to the point that the act of shaving his head drastically lessened its effects, thereby allowing him to finally witness the positive effects of his centuries of atonement.
Allow me a brief aside to gush about the quality of writing on display regarding Ruijerd shaving his head. A haircut is widely understood as one of the evergreen (no pun intended) classic visual metaphors for dramatic character change or growth (and an example of Truth in Fiction as this is a REAL behavior people exhibit). Nothing particularly new or groundbreaking is being done with this trope. However, it is simply mindboggling just how EFFICIENTLY it was used here. This action is woven into not only Ruijerd's character arc, but the narrative as a whole. First, it serves as an in-universe explanation for how curses function (a point that becomes EXTREMELY relevant later for Cliff, Elinalise, and Orsted pertaining to the mitigation/nullification of curses), second it is used to visually and thematically demonstrate the moment Ruijerd committed to changing his ways after 400+ years of stagnation, and lastly it serves as THE singular defining action that shifts people's attitudes towards him. Cutting his hair, in conjunction with his commitment to changing his behavior and attitude, was both literally and figuratively the change he needed to make to achieve his goals. F**king [chef's kiss]. Perfection in writing by using every part of the buffalo. Anyways, back to the essay.
The second, but equally (if not more) important Greyrat, is Norn and similar to his relationship with Rudy their development is mutual and intertwined. During their travels to the northern territories, Ruijerd is given an opportunity to bond with Norn over numerous stories of his people and family which leave a lasting impression on Norn. Her contribution at this point is, of course, rather passive however it cannot be understated how therapeutic it can be to have such an active listener to engage with when recalling memories that, until recently, you might otherwise associate exclusively with pain or grief.
While consoling Norn in the added chapter "The Master Babysitter" Ruijerd draws a direct resemblance between Norn's current mindset and his son's same nearly identical refusal to be left behind by their father:
Ruijerd still didn’t know how his son had been able to defeat him back then. He roamed the whole of the Demon Continent carrying that question, but he’d never found a satisfying answer. Now, however, he had an idea. His son had surely worked hard to become stronger in ways his father never knew about. He’d followed his father’s instructions, and had trained himself with purpose and determination in order to protect both his mother and his village. Ruijerd felt such pride.
If Norn felt the same way, then she wouldn’t listen no matter how much Paul told her that he was worried or that she was precious to him.
Just by interacting with Norn and recognizing the qualities she shares with his son, he is finally able to re-interpret what these painful memories now mean to him. Memories which had previously only been a source of regret and shame can now instead be a source of strength and pride. A sentiment he relays back to Norn in the next paragraph:
“If you want to be with someone, you have to get bigger, stronger, more impressive. In order to get there, you’re going to have to bear with your circumstances right now.” His words were clumsy. He wasn’t conveying what he wanted to very clearly.
But Norn understood. Strange as it was, she found meaning in his words. They resonated differently from what Lilia, Aisha, and the other adults had said to her before, perhaps because Ruijerd’s came from a place of positivity rather than negativity.
Positivity he gained specifically from interacting with Norn. Her contributions, however, do not stop there. It takes time for her to act upon that advice, but her efforts eventually pay dividends. Both in part thanks to Ruijerd's clumsy guidance all those years ago and her own natural tenacity and grit, Norn Greyrat grows up to become a resilient, self-critical, and emotionally mature young lady with an unshakeable work ethic (albeit still a bit clumsy). If you somehow haven't watched this essay by EliteAri, do so now. It's the sole reason I didn't start with a Norn essay because despite being my favorite character in the series the perfect essay for her literally already exists, so this is about as close as I'm ever going to get to doing a dedicated Norn essay.
After reuniting during the final conflict, her resemblance to Ruijerd's previous family seems to have only intensified. As a child she resembled his son and his dauntless determination, but as an adult she more closely resembles his wife and they eventually marry and have a child together. Such a Happily Ever After is of course about as heartwarming as a basket of puppies, kittens, ducklings, piglets, AND bunnies and is extremely well earned, but I still have a few more things to mention about this clumsy couple.
While a physical resemblance would be the obvious comparison, Ruijerd was probably referring to their personalities. Given what we learn about the original history from Orsted and what we already know about Ruijerd's son, it can be inferred that both were extremely competent, respectable mothers. Norn's daughter, Luicelia Superdia, was destined to become the legendary Superd warrior and last of her kind who single-handedly restores the honor of the Superd Tribe by landing the killing blow on Demon God Laplace. In other words, they both raised an extremely disciplined, competent warrior who defeat an EmperoGod Tier combatant respectively.
Ruijerd's marriage to Norn may not be the climax but it is most certainly the finale of their respective arcs (and is arguably the healthiest marriage in the entire canon).
As I have hopefully demonstrated at length, Ruijerd's development serves to exemplify the healing that can be achieved when you form a healthy perspective of your past no matter how difficult that might be. Allowing oneself to remain chained to the resentment and hatred of being a victim is unproductive and serves only to maintain the vicious cycle of self-loathing, regret, and fear of attachment that prevents you from forming new, healthy relationships.
Ruijerd still has his centuries old trauma but he has finally found what he needed most: Acceptance.

2024.04.28 16:38 redditinsmartworki What's a complete, high-schooler-proof guideline to modern physics study?

At the moment I know pretty well what newtonian mechanics, quantum mechanics, special and general relativity are, but only at a divulgative level (if someone gave me an einstein's tensor equation or a wave function of even the simplest kind, I wouldn't understand anything).
At a high school level (right now I'm in the italian 10th grade) I studied Newtonian statics and kinematics, very little of dynamics, little to nothing of thermodynamics (also not explained by my physica teacher, but by my chemistry one) and really few elementary electromagnetism equations (a few of them are Ohm's first law, Biot-Savart law and the magnetic force equation for a conductor passing through a flat plain). By the way, none of the equations I talked about were presented to me as differential equations, but they were simplified to certain cases so they could use only basic arithmetic operators.
For example, the equation defining work, L = F ds, was considered in the specific case when the force is constant, where it simply becomes L = F•s.
Right now in my maths class we're about to have a second degree rational inequality test. By myself, though, I learned quite a few things about limits, derivatives, series and integrals and tried to understand concepts like taylor series and complex functions. However, learning it all from brief YT videos, I know none of the demonstrations.
I already ordered a book of Calculus 1 to begin learning the foundations of all modern maths and physics, then I should order a book about newtonian dynamics and classical thermodynamics.
What do you suggest I buy after that so that I can get to relativity and quantum mechanics before the end of 13th grade? I don't mean to rush things, I want to understand every single thing. Other than relativity and q.m., I surely want to learn lagrangian, hamiltonian abd statistical mechanics. So, base your answers on that.

Modern Type Theory
By The Modern Type Institute [Version 5.4]
Supplementary - Database - Website - Language
5.4 – What’s New?
CHAPTER 1 PRE-TYPE
An Overview of the Theory
History & Placement
Before there were cognitive types, there was Carl Gustav Jung, a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who spent his entire life trying to understand the underlying mechanisms of human cognition and consciousness. He published his research in many parts and books, one of them being his famous book, "Psychological Types," released back in 1921, in which he discussed the possibility of categorising people into a number of archetypes and what constitutes them. Later on, in the coming decades, groups and people such as the Briggs Family, Ausra Augustinaviciute and many more would expand upon Jung's admittedly incomplete theory through different lenses, in the forms of books and research that would later be used to build entire communities around them.
So many, in fact, that there would be, on average, two new schools of thought each year passing from the day Carl Jung published his original work back in 1921, about 5 on average each year if we start counting from the day the Briggs published their most popular work back in 1956. It goes without saying that the said amount of theories, while greatly appreciated in many ways, is in fact way more than any one person can be expected to read over, let alone understand. And it is also unfortunate that the community's efforts just keep on dividing the community in the same pseudo-scientific pit that it finds itself in.
This great amount of attraction to Jung’s original work and its derivatives did not come for no reason. However, while the individual reasons may differ, ultimately everyone agrees that Jung had found a treasure with the way he decided to split the hairs of reality in order to understand the underlying mechanisms that run our cognition on a daily basis. Ultimately, the typology community has always held great potential for changing the course of all human lives and history, but it has always been held back by the many divisions that form from within it and the cracks found within theories that do not behold themselves to scientific protocols or methods. In that, the MTT finds its purpose in uniting the typology community at large into one great theory that takes every great element from every other theory to create one greater theory that is constantly improving through the infrastructures provided by the MTI to constantly research it in as many ways as possible in order to ensure that the MTT is truly the best.
Summary; Carl Gustav Jung, a psychiatrist, studied human cognition and consciousness, introducing the concept of psychological types in 1921. Subsequent researchers like the Briggs family expanded on his work, leading to numerous typological theories. The Typology community aims to unite these theories into a comprehensive model with the help of MTI through the MTT model, striving for a more cohesive and scientifically grounded approach.
GIF - Figure 1.
In the graphic above we can see the development of Jungian Typologies over time, it starting with Jung’s original work then with a follow up from Katherine Briggs and it would not take too long for so many others authors to hop on board.
Framework & purpose
The Modern Type Theory (MTT) is a system that approaches cognition algorithmically from the perspective of evolutionary cognitive psychology and connectionism. It hopes to have a cohesive and accurate model that represents the functions of the human brain through modified Jungian faculties in an electro-like circuit model. This model represents the individual colours of cognition through an analysis, dissection, and mix of the primary colour provided by Carl G. Jung and improved upon by various typological teams. These teams include but are not limited to Dave and Shan from OPS, the various authors of Socionics, the various authors of the MBTI system and its sub-schools and more.
The MTT and MTI aim to achieve these goals by ensuring that the MTT remains open source and institutionally backed to ensure that it has all the resources it needs to become a perpetually growing community, sustained theory, and practice that is ever more scientific than any of the other theories that came before it, so that it can be a beacon of truth for the community at large.
Quote “The typological community has always held immense potential for knowledge and the betterment of the world. However, it has consistently failed to reach its full potential due to various unclear reasons. At MTT, we believe that we have identified many of the factors that held the community back from reaching its metamorphosis, and we are committed to being the driving force behind change.
The MTI aims to achieve these goals by aggregating efforts in researching the truth of value of other typology systems and synthesizing their functional elements into one greater cohesive model that being the MTT.
Quote “The Modern Type Theory is a typological theory based on the works of C.G Jung as well as other derivatives such Aušra Augustinacvičiūtė, Dave & Shan Powers and many others. It specifically orients itself on a modified cognitive model that would be best described as a mixture of Evolutionary Cognitive Psychology and Connectionism, it proposes that everyone has a type and that types represent functional dynamics that evolved to fit and answer for tribal and evolutionary needs, It attempts to explain it through the use of the Jungian Functions as information and energy processing units.“
And it goes without saying that the MTT has not only been built on the backs of giants in terms of the typology community from greats like the Briggs, John Beebe, Linda Berens, Gulenko, Ausra and more but also on the backs of giants from other fields such as C.R. Darwin, Michael Faraday, Luigi Galvani and more as will be illustrated by the following figure below:
Summary; The Modern Type Theory (MTT) is a cognitive system integrating evolutionary psychology and connectionism to model human brain functions based on Jungian faculties. It aims to be open-source, institutionally supported, and scientifically advanced. MTT seeks to unify typology systems, like MBTI and Socionics, into a cohesive model. The MTI initiative combines research efforts to synthesize typology elements into MTT.

A Basis For The Theory
Evolutionary Specialization Theory
The Modern Type Theory is a theory that bases itself upon a hypothesis built by its founders, which is named the Evolutionary Specialisation Theory or EST for short. It suggests that types came about due to evolutionary needs which could not be met by singular individuals due to the finite nature of their capacity. This required that individuals would cognitively specialise in order to tackle the various needs of their groups and have their needs met as well. This is due to, as mentioned prior, a finite capacity of the human brain, but also due to time constraints posed by short lifespans and the social nature of humans. In that way, the theory suggests that the types represent different systems of allocating the human capacity or energy, and that typology is the study of the systematic way in which mental energy is allocated.
Quote “ In essence, human biology evolved to allocate mental energy through different types, each offering distinct competencies. This can also be seen on an individual level, aligning with mainstream biological views that types represent survival strategies arising from energy limitations. Quote “
Quote “The theory stems from the idea that due to cognitive limitations imposed by the need for survival, the human brain has not evolved to be able to make all possible observations and make decisions from all possible points of references. But rather that it has specialized in some capacity in its tribal nature, that caused imbalances due to the specialization and the contradictory nature of psychological reality but also left the space for balance.”
And in despite of the hypothetical having a foundationally intuitive background it does not go without basis in mainstream biology, it finds resonance in foundational biology such as some of Charles R. Dariwn’s observations, particularly in the Descent of Man where Darwin hints at the advantage of the product of individual individuation within the tribe for survival and growth. As for instance when he noted "If one man in a tribe... invented a new snare or weapon, the tribe would increase in number, spread, and supplant other tribes.", This goes along with broader biological theories including but not limited to: Group selection, Kin selection, Inclusive fitness, Multilevel selection theory, Reciprocal altruism and Mutualism).
Summary; The Evolutionary Specialization Theory (EST) proposes that types evolved due to cognitive specialization for survival needs in groups, stemming from human brain limitations and social constraints. It suggests that types represent different systems of allocating mental energy. This theory finds resonance in mainstream biology, supported by observations from Charles Darwin about individual innovation within tribes contributing to growth and survival.

The Tritype Pyramid
One of the most important things to mention when constructing a framework of cognition is a mention related to the various layers at which cognition operates, this recognition has been arrived at by various other individuals from the community such as Gulenko and Linda barrens but also us as well. The different typologists call it different things but we call it the “Tritype Pyramid”, and what it is is the three main levels of cognition and the ways it expresses it self. The three are known by three names starting with the Express self which is the highest level of cognition which is simply whatever you decide to display to the world which may speak of your innate cognition or your learned styles of cognition and or neither of them, followed then by the level under it which is the Codified self which represents everything the you learn and the style or styles of cognition you learn to emulate which is still tied to the innate cognition but entirely so to allow for a level of dynamic cognition not limited by the evolutionary tendencies. Finally there is the lowest level representing the most innate level cognition that being the Process self which is the fixed evolutionary level of cognition that is extremely hard to change on any level and nearing on impossible. That precise level is what most of what type tries to explore, not so much the dynamic elements that change on a day to day basis but what the underlying framework and structure that lies under all of them is which is represented through the systems that are known as Types.
Summary; The "Tritype Pyramid" framework discusses the three levels of cognition: the Express self, representing what you show the world; the Codified self, reflecting learned cognitive styles; and the Process self, representing innate cognition that is hard to change. This framework aims to explore the underlying structure of cognition beyond dynamic elements.
Figure 4.
This Figure above says that the self is a mix of inborn nature ("process self") and learned experience ("express self" & "codified self"). That human core nature shows most in new situations, while experience shapes how one adapt and express the self.
The Information Theory
The Plane
The first fundamental premise of MTT and for Jungian theories in general is that cognition is a metaphor for the inner plane of information, and that metaphor itself can be represented through what we know as colours. Cognition is a light spectrum of colours, and all intermix and create variations of their primary colours. For the naked eye, it just looks like a plane of information akin to a canvas with a bunch of colours just thrown around with no rhyme or reason and a seemingly infinite amount of colours with no overarching theme or limit.
But a typologist's eyes, much like the eyes of an artist, see beyond the seeming chaos into the inner structure and beauty of the canvas, and see the individual primary colours that make the painting come to life. They do not see it as a black box that cannot be understood and just produces results that are beyond comprehension. But a delicate systematic approach, all priming from basic elements, grows in complexity over time to produce the final result which can be a complex or simple work of art, but ultimately arrives from the same basic colours and paintbrush.
So, the other part of the premise is that we are able to partition the spectrum of light into the different primary colours, which we can use to reverse engineer the complex paintings that our brain is capable of producing. By doing this, we are able to break down any complex thoughts into their smaller primary elements which make them up, to understand the underlying structure behind thoughts which have a seemingly infinite complexity when, in reality, they do not. They are just more complex mixes of the same primary colours at the end of the day.
Summary; The first premise of MTT and Jungian theories suggests cognition is metaphorically represented by colours, forming a spectrum. Typologists and artists can see beyond chaos, understanding the structure and beauty of the canvas as a systematic approach from basic elements to complex results. By partitioning the light spectrum into primary colours, complex thoughts can be broken down into smaller elements for better understanding, revealing their underlying structure.

The Plane of Colours Visualized
Speed / Energy
Now that we know of the plane of information representing space, we can add another dimension in play which would represent time, an essential element when constructing the metaphysics of anything, some would argue as much as the most essential element in any form of metaphysics. As for the reason for why such a dimension would be needed in a typology, it will become clearer as we move forward in the theory book but to quickly introduce it, we can say that not only are there electrons in the brain which when combined with the chemical processes and the means which are the neurons produce information of different kinds, but that such information travels through the brain and converts into other forms which all not only takes place in space but in time as well. We will represent said movement and speed by either the willingness to go faster or the willingness to go slower i.e. Accelerative and Decelerative, where elements that are accelerative accumulate momentum and move faster and the decelerative ones will act in the opposite manner.
Figure 6.
Simple Visualization of the Plane of Information with the added dimension
Capacity Management
Base LAws
Following the established principles by the EST section of the theory book, we can establish a few rules around the mental energy management laws, which will be referred to as capacity, so as not to confuse with energy as a synonym for change of momentum. The first of these will be that there exists no equilibrium of capacity as that would break the specialisation law established by the EST. The second will be that capacity management happens in categories and the hierarchy of categories is determined by the ratio of imbalance. That is to say, the energy division cannot be done from element a from group a, such that group b will be the benefactor. Analogously, you can't lower your video resolution to get better audio as they operate on different planes — an imperfect analogy. The other part of that is that if group a has a ratio where element a is 80 to b's 20, while group b has a ratio of a's 60 to b's 40, group a would be higher up due to the more extreme ratio. The third and last is that elements within subgroups are often ordered based on their individual size within the main group. So, if a and b were to be subgroups of delta, the individual elements within groups a and b would be ordered based on their individual sizes.

CHAPTER 2 The Elements
Jungian Faculties
Introductory metaphor
The Jungian faculties split the hairs of reality akin to splitting the layers and tones of a picture, then split it again into the individual colours to see how they differ, then to see what the primary colours are. Then we can reverse engineer the picture by mixing the colours together again according to an algorithm, by which we can then apply the same principle over and over again to all pictures because they all come from the same primary colours in spite of the seemingly unique mix. The elements will be the representation of the primary colours from which we can build everything that is cognitive, from which we can explain all behaviour.
GIF Figure 8.
The elements through colours
Processing Units
Most of MTT, including the elements, will be revolving around one main core idea, which is that of processing units, their interactions and the framework around them. Processing units represent the various processing drivers of the brain in the kind of information and energy they deal with, and the intricacies of said interactions. They cover the range of cognition and the difference in it, and a lot more, so that MTT takes a semi-connectionist approach to constructing a framework around cognition. It works on the axiom that the brain functions a lot like an electrical framework, akin to the work that has been done in similar fields, such as in the case of the Hodgkin Huxley model.

Decisions
Summary; The decision-oriented processes involve managing identities and making judgment calls based on feelings/values or thinking/functionality. Decisions require drivers known as decider functions. Feelings/values focus on value orientation, while thinking/functionality emphasizes the practical impact of decisions.
Decision Elements Symbolized
Observations
Summary; Observations involve perceiving objects in relation to each other, quantifying and processing data. They are crucial for decision-making and understanding order and chaos. Sensing involves concrete perception of the world using sensory data, while intuition perceives patterns and implicit information.

Axes
Summary; The content discusses creating a typology based on dominant elements in individuals, resulting in types like TNSF and NTFS. Types can be dominant in function, values, patterns, or sensing. The T-F axis is the deciding axis, while the N-S axis is the observing axis, categorizing individuals as deciders or observers based on their dominant axis.

2024.04.28 11:06 AramushaIsLove A few questions to the community alongside my personal answer to them.

1. Would you want 4* characters to have the possibility of getting their 5* versions in the future?
Personally, I have never liked this concept ever since I played HI3 a long time ago. My reasoning is because 2 of these characters will exist in my roster and I can put both of them in the team, it simply makes no sense. The game have to constantly progress, adding new characters instead of revamping old ones allows for wider world building.
2. Would you be okay if a character were to die "meaningfully" as the lore progresses?
My answer would depend on whether the character stays playable or not. It's a bit contradictory to my answer to the first question but I would be perfectly okay with character death if the lore fits but the character need to stay playable despite it making no sense. This is because these characters costs money and opening up the door to any character being potentially unusable in the future is disastrous.
3. Would you want an "Archon" type character of every nation to exist? If yes, would you want them to be the center of a certain playstyle?
Personally, I don't want this. It is way too similar with Genshin. Of course there would be powerful being in SOL3, but I believe they have no need to be tied to a specific nation as their leader, commander or the likes. It is way more interesting for powerful beings to just "exist" either low key like everyone else or high key as in too powerful to claim as part of a specific nation nor do they believe themselves to be part of said nation.
4. As early Wuthering Waves focuses a lot on character Mutation that are visible on their body, would you like to see more extreme mutations like old Awu?
I am all for this, it explodes the potential of character design to a whole new dimension. Gacha genre already find it hard to have unique memorable characters, this will make it extremely easy to have unique character designs.
5. Would you like to see unique event Echo that are only obtainable from events which rarely if ever repeats?
My answer to this would be yes with caveat. Only if that echo have empty mainstat, substat, element & set. Then it can be given mainstat, substat, element & set by sacrificing an echo you already have. It will take the mainstat, substat, element & set from said sacrificed echo. Having a unique echo that have random stat is a recipe for disaster but the concept of event exclusive echo is so cool.
6. Unlike PGR, Wuthering Waves have a locked weapon system similar to Genshin. Would you be open to the possibility of an addition for new weapon types considering the downsides of bigger unsharable weapon pool?
I am fine with it, personally I dislike the locked weapon system that won't allow me to see unique weapons being used in the world of SOL3 such as Scythes, Kusarigama, Sniper, Shotgun, Knife, Dual Knives and so on. At best they will be used the way Jiyan spear is used which is sad. Neither of the option is best for me. As weird as it is, this is the only cool thing that ToF have done which I loved, endless unique weapon possibilities.
7. Would you want the nations of Wuthering Waves to all be futuristic or would you welcome a high fantasy or medieval esque nation that for example wear plate armor and so on?
I think having this juxtaposition of 2 opposing advancement level whereby the less "advanced" nation can still compete and coexist with the more advanced nation by being more attuned to the resonance using their tacet mark or some kind of WW equivalent of magic would be extremely cool.

2024.04.28 05:11 Quiet_Plenty_9951 07th expansion scale

This is going to be a remaking of my old 07th expansion cosmology post, My interpretation of the 07th expansion cosmology. Scaling will be explained at the end.

Important note's

The fragments are the most important part of Umineko's cosmology they can appear in the human domain, but not in there true form instead they will appear as abstract feelings, and in the witch domain they appear in there true forms as the conceptual form of different worlds, parallel worlds, fates, possibilities, theories, game software, comics, books, and other things we are not told about this means any form of superiority over a fragment would make you conceptually above the world it contains. And the worlds in these fragments are infinite in size.
The world of Umineko is an infinite ladder, and at the bottom of this ladder is the sea of zero. (which is the place where beings who climb the ladder go to after they fall.) And on this ladder, all beings exist in between one of two extremes: the side that creates fate (the top of the ladder) and the side that follows fate (the bottom of the ladder). The side that follows fate are the humans, beings who are unable to create anything worthwhile and are restricted but because they are restricted, they are gifted with a solid ground underneath their feet so they don't have to worry about falling off the ladder and into the sea of zero. The beings who create fate are the creators, omniscient and almighty beings that have no restrictions and can create anything they want, but because they have no restrictions, they lose the restriction of the ground underneath their feet. The restriction of meaning, and the concepts of life and death disappear for them, as they reach the limit of zero, or else they fall and vanish like the mist. and in the middle are the witches beings who aren't completely restricted, still having some restrictions and accepting that they are limited which allows them to keep some of the ground under their feet, giving them some footing., but at the end of the day, they still lack restrictions, meaning they have to live in fear of falling off the ladder, and because of that, they must constantly think and remember their individuality; otherwise, they will fall into the sea of zero. Now that I've discussed the three points of the ladder, we can go back to our endeavors. As I've already explained, the ladder has three points on it, with the second point (the witch domain) being in the middle. This should mean that the steps of the ladder should also be split since they are a part of the ladder itself. This is supposed by the fact that the witch domain transcends the endeavors of the human domain (as will be shown later) and the endeavors to the domain of creators transcend the witch domain, and since the ladder is infinite and split in the middle, each set of endeavors should be infinite considering that splitting infinity in half would just make two infinities.

the human domain (kinda)

The human world/the universe is the physical/material world and is limited, and in this world, the truth of all things that exist are based on the mind and perception of every individual person. In Umineko, with truth functions similar to trivialism, and is based on interpretation as long as it is unknown, all ideas exist as truth, even conflicting and contradictory ones. Unless the objective truth is found, those ideas will continue to exist, but as I've already shown, the objective truth cannot exist in the human world, so the truth can never be found. To give an example of what this would mean, think of the idea of heat in the human world. Infinite ideas of heat will exist under the truth that it is hot, including conflicting and contradicting forms of heat like cold and freezing heat. This would apply to everything in the human world.
Above this is the 5th dimension, but before you can understand the 5th dimension, you have to understand the 3rd and 4th dimensions. To start, these dimensions aren't spatial; each dimension represents and is defined by a concept that forms the universe. The 3rd dimension is defined by the make-up of all things that exist; the 4th dimension is defined by time and demonstrates the changes of the things in the 3rd dimension; and the 5th dimension, defined by possibility, will manifest every possible state those things can exist in and will divide them into parallel worlds. with the 5th dimension existing in between those words. Going further, the 4th dimension governs the concept of time and the 5th dimension governs the concept of possibility. As I've shown the 5th dimension governors, every state can exist in, and so each choice made will make the world branch into a new world, and a single choice creates infinite branches. and even a single branch has infinite worlds and the future exists as an infinite wave of infinite choices, so infinite choices are being made infinitely and a single choice branches the world infinitely. And Ryukishi has confirmed that the worlds we see Rika travel through are supposed to be similar to the many worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics.
Mirrors are entrances to their own worlds that are just as big as the original, with these worlds having their own mirror worlds and so on and so forth, leading to an infinite number of mirror worlds, and the mirrors governing the opposite of all things, with these different mirror worlds being described as different possibilities, and in the original text, all things are referred to as Shinra Bansho.
それ以外にも、何かが反転してるかもな。……何しろ、鏡は森羅万象、あらゆるものの対を司る。
And 森羅万象 means all things in the universe/creation. This would mean that mirrors will create all dualistic forms of the universe and everything in it. And because the 5th dimension governs the concept of possibilities and will generate worlds around this concept, the mirrors should create something like a 5th dimension that governs the concept of impossibilities and generates worlds around that concept.
The border between worlds, which as the name implies is the border that separates, and in this place the border between dreams and reality can be entered, and in this place you can enter the worlds that are created by dreams and daydreams. And going back to the human world, since one choice will create an infinite number of worlds, each of these worlds obviously has its own people, who will then have their own dreams, and with there being infinite choices, there should be an infinite number of dreams and daydreams. These dream worlds will also contain a dream version of things, people, and yokai that exist in the human world, and the abilities of these yokai also apply to these dream worlds, as shown by how Renoir can still send people to the worlds of fiction (which I'll get to later). This should include Kyou, who govern the mirror worlds, meaning that the dream worlds have their own mirror worlds, but Kyou doesn't govern the mirror worlds; he governs the border to the mirror worlds, meaning the border between worlds also exists in the dream worlds, and since the things in the dream world mimic reality, there should be a dream world version of the boundary between reality and dreams, meaning the dream worlds should contain their own dream worlds, and those dream worlds create an infinite recursion of dream worlds.
As I mentioned in the fragment part of the scale, the worlds of human fiction manifest as their own human worlds, and those worlds will recursively create their own fiction that will manifest as there own human worlds. This should logically go on infinitely, making this an infinite hierarchy, and due to being human worlds, everything I've mentioned (except for the 5th dimension) should apply and exist in these fictional human worlds, like the dream and mirror worlds and it's limits. But most importantly, for this scale, the human boundary, the absolute peak of the human world, since transcending it means that you transcend the limits and restrictions of the human world becoming a witch., but no matter how powerful you get, you will never transcend human territory unless a being of a higher world acknowledges you. An example of this is Beatrice's (sayo) evolution to become a witch; despite her infinite evolution, she was still below human boundary. This is impressive because her evolution isn't just her getting stronger; it's her transcending herself and her layers. To understand why we have to go back to the ladder, the steps down the laddelayers of the world are called endeavors. When it comes to transcending the steps of the ladder, witches do it over time slowly transcending these layers. The number of layers she transcended was compared to Takano, who has an infinite number of endeavors, but because of her infinite evolution, her transcendence was described as her jumping down the ladder, reaching the peak instantly (this is in the context of her transcending to the human territory). Basically, the endless evolution of Beato allows her to transcend layers, hierarchies, and herself infinitely, but even after that, she was below the human territory, meaning transcending it should equal an inaccessible transcendence since no matter how strong a human gets or how many layers they transcend, they cannot surpass it by themselves.
You're probably wondering how this would apply to hierarchy, and thanks to Renoir we have an answer, Renoir is a yokai with the ability to enter these fictional worlds, with them viewing these worlds as 2d, meaning that a R>F transcendence is equal to how dimensions transcend each other, and with how dimensions transcend each other, it doesn't matter if something is infinite in a lower world;in a lower world; it will be finite in a higher one, and the people in this higher world will be omnipotent in the lower world. This plus the fact that no matter how many layers a being from a lower world transcends because of human territory, they will never reach a higher world, the difference between worlds in this hierarchy should be an inaccessible transcendence. And to end off the hierarchy, each fiction should dream up their own dream worlds, and Renoir's ability works in these dream worlds, meaning that even the fictions in the dream worlds exist as actual worlds. This should mean that there is an infinite recursion of dreams and fiction where fictional worlds dream up their own dream worlds with the fictions in those dreams doing the same, and so on and so forth.
In Higurashi mei, the fragments that are created function as layers to the world, with each lower layer being less real to a higher one, and since these layers are fragments and fragments are the conceptual form of worlds, each higher layer in this hierarchy will also have a conceptual transcend over the lower one. And due to the fact that fragments are created by choices and a single choice will create infinite fragments, there should be an infinite number of these layers.
Next is Maria's world. In Ryukishi's 3rd 2012 interview, he explained the hierarchy of structures in the 07th cosmology, saying that in order, it goes the chessboard, then the meta room, then the witches world and that any different world we see is hierarchically piled up onto the world we see it in. And in episode 4, we see Ange enter Maria's world by opening her diary. Her diary is her grimoire, and as such, it is the entrance to her magical compendium. Mariage Sorcière. Mariage Sorcière is a universe born from Maria's meeting or alliance with Beatrice. It it use to be an existence of 1 until Beatrice came and made it infinite (it should be noted that in the manga this was visually shown as her stacking infinite cat boxes). Mariage Sorcière has its own golden land made of the crystallized thoughts of Maria and Beatrice, and it should have the same form of superiority as the golden land on Beatrice's game board being completely above the rest of Sorcière.
The library of time is the Akashic Record of the human world and exists as a backup for the city of books as the world's Akashic Record it contains manuscripts that contain everything about the world. These manuscripts also describe every element and fact of the world.
Next is the magic world. The magic world and the human world are two opposing forces/worlds, where both worlds exist as two conflicting truths with even the logic defining the two worlds conflicting with each other, but despite their opposing nature, they are described as being two sides of the same coin, meaning that despite their opposing nature, these two worlds are interviewed with each other, existing as halves of the same hole. The magic world is described as a meta-like space, making it transcendent over the human world.

the witch domain

As I've already mentioned, the human world is limited, and to become a witch, you have to transcend the boundary and limits of the human world, like numbers, human language, and the human soul, and that even if a human transcends an infinite number of layers, you will never reach the witch domain (shown by Beatrice.) Unless a witch acknowledges your power, Plus, this is supported by the existence of the layers Higurashi Mei created, seeing how even those layers can't reach the human domain. The witch domain is a world of thought and is only limited by your imagination, but the way one individual images the world it will not affect the world for everyone else. and the moment an individual stops thinking, they will "die" and because they lack an individuality they will fall into the depths of oblivion.
The meta room is the world where the games created by the game master are played, with this world being above the game board and having narrative layers where higher beings watch lower ones. There is one above the meta room (for meta beings) and one below it. (for meta beings to observe what happens on the game board). The cathedral exists on the same level and acts as a court for the pieces and the players.. The world of the game boards, rokkenjima, exists in between both the magic and human worlds and in a state where both of these worlds exist as truth. and although there can only be one truth defining existence until one of them is proven both will exist as truth, this stat is analogized as an uncertain wave function, meaning both truths are and are not true on Rokkenjima, but the moment one of the truths is proven the two truths will collapse into one, leaving only the proven truth.
Each game board has two worlds, one above and one below it. The world below the game board is Gaap's world/the underside of the game board this world exists in no space and no time, and questions like where is this or what time is it hold no meaning; all of time and space lead to here, but it cannot reach this world. The world above is the golden land. The golden land is a world of pure bliss, and in the golden land all beings are equal, witches, humans, and furniture don't exist inside of it as everyone is equal to each other is a world of zero where negativity cannot exist.
In episode six, Battler creates a game board on the ep6 game board called the Love Trial game board. This game was played in an unknown space that is never really confirmed, but given the fact that the visual effect used for this world is the same one used for the meta room, it's more than likely that this place is a meta room or functions as a meta room where they can play games. And the game board for this game has an infinite number of fragments.
Next is Beatrice's catbox. The catbox is the territory/game board of Beatrice it contains the entirety of Rokkenjima and everything on it including the Ushiromiya family, but to be specific, the cat box is the days of October 4th and 5th spun into infinite fragments with those fragments being different possible narrative and each one is it's own separate game boards (shown visually). In Episode 7, Willard says that Beato's catbox was a different hierarchy than the one he was in, which was Bern's cat box, meaning that the fragments of Beato and Bern's catbox are a hierarchy. The catbox is also referred to as the multi-layered worlds, meaning each fragment is layered, and since Beatrice created the cat box and is an endless witch who lacks the concept of the finite, there should be an infinite number of layers for each fragment. Beatrice exists as a fundamental law that governs her catbox, and because she knows the truth and is a game master, she transcends the rest of the game board.
The sea of fragments is an infinite multiverse of human worlds, and the fragments in the sea of fragments are spun around the concept of fate and possibility. It is a multiverse that holds every possible human world and the different fates of them, and the sea of fragments completely dwarf Beatrice's catbox.
Bernkastel's catbox is a world created by fusing seven fragments, and it contains Beatrice's catbox. (And if you look at the visuals for this scan, you can see that there are many other cat boxes.) On Bern's catbox, the chapel exists as a plane cut off from the rest of the catbox, and then there is the witches theater, which is just a theater that exists in the catbox, and outside of all this is the cot boxes version of The Sea of Fragments, and if you remember what I said in the section about Beatrice's catbox, the fragments in Bern's catbox should also be a hierarchy.
Next is heaven and hell. Not much is known about these worlds; all we know is that the haven is home to the angels (the Great Court of Heaven, the SSVD, and the Eiserne Jungfrau) and that hell is home to the demons (the 72 Great Demons).
Above all of this is The Great Witch of Theatergoing, Drama, and Spectating's Noble City of Carefully Selected Books, also known as the city of books. The city of books is a world where infinite fragments are stored by great witches in the form of books, and the beings who live on this are no different from creators, but when translating the raw text, Erika instead tells us that the beings in this world are identical to creators.
「遥か上層の、霞んで見えないくらいに上層の大魔女は、もはや神や造物主と同じ存在です。……そんな連中から見れば、私たちの物語なんて、果たして一冊にまとめる価値があるかどうか。」
"At the distant upper layer, which is too hazy that it is completely invisible for us are the Great Witches of Higher Order, who are existences that are identical to Gods and Creators……From perspective of the likes of them, I wonder if our story altogether can be considered as a single book or not.
Meaning, the city of books has to be extremely high on the ladder since these beings are close to being/basically are creators in terms of existence, and above the city of books is a place where beings can observe what happens in the city of books called the spectators rows.
The senate is a group of the highest level witches who hold the most authority in the witch domain, even governing the city of books, with a barrier around the city of books that only allows members of the senate to enter it, and the only way for a non-senate member to enter the city of books is to be given authorization by a member of the senate.
The depth of oblivion or the sea of zero is the place where all beings fall when they die. a infinite world of nothing a world of complete darkness where the concepts of life and death don't exist In the Umineko ep8 guide book, Ryukishi tells us that the depth of oblivion has its own fragments and describes it as the grand line from one piece., meaning it wraps around/encompasses the entire world. The world of Umineko is described in binary with creation being 1 and the depth of oblivion being described as 0 and in ep 4 Beatrice gives a further explanation on how creation works saying that it's easy for witches to take something that is 1 and make it something like 100 but creating 1 from 0 and describes being able to do this as origin magic this implies that the depth of oblivion is the origin of all creation as for a new existence to be created it would have to come from zero and supporting this idea is the fact that a beings at there core are part of zero so all things in exist come from the depths of oblivion.

the 3rd domain

Above the city of books is Aroua's study hall. Aroua's study hall is a higher reality where Featherine views the entire witch domain and transcends it the same way witches transcend humans, and the only way for a being from the witch domain to enter this world is for Featherine to open its doors to you. It is the archive of the stories that happen in the witch domain holding the archives of everything that happens in the witch domain
Next are the true forms of voyager witches, but before you can understand the nature of voyagers, you have to understand the nature of territory lords. Territory lords are the first of three stages of a witch and are beings who govern the world of a fragment, with that fragment being their world they embody this world and everything and exist as a law that governs their world. This is further supported by the fact that if the territory lord dies, then their world and everything in it go with them, and when they come back to life, their world and everything in it come back with them. But because of the relationship a territory lord has with their world, they cannot leave their territory, which acts as a limit for them, emboldening these limitations. Even limiting their power to the highest layer of their territory. Voyagers in existence are the same as territory lords, but they are not limited to their territory, and when they choose to manifest in the world, it is as an avatar of themselves, and since their existence is not limited to their territory, their true form doesn't just embody their territory but the entire cosmology and everything in it, just like how territory lords exist as a law that governs their world, voyagers exist as a law that governs the world, with this law being linked to their power.
Lambdadelta--- A theme within Umineko but manly in Higurashi is the idea that a strong will can change fate, with this idea existing as a law of the world. Lambdadelta embodies the concept of this law with this being reflected in her magic with it being started to need a strong will power to activate it with it even making the impossible doable.
Bernkastel--- A theme within Umineko but manly in Higurashi is the idea that if you wait for a miracle, it will come (and just like how Lambda embodies her law, Bernkastel should as well.) This is reflected in her magic as it allows her to bring forth a miracle as long as the possibility of it happening isn't zero but she cannot dictate when it will happen meaning you will have to wait for it.
And if you're wondering why their laws are this high up in cosmology, it's because in the ep8 guide book, Ryukishi tells us that they have the power to become creators but have the have the choice not to because of their fear of being plagued with the same disease that killed Featherine after she reached it, which was boredom.
At the top of cosmology is Featherine's true form. Featherine has two true forms: her voyager true form and her actual true form, and I'll start with her voyager true form. Unlike the other voyagers, Featherine's true form is not a law and is instead something greater, being described as a candle that stands on top of the world and whose flame lights the world, and as I've already mentioned, the true form of a voyager is tied to their magic, so what is her magic? Well, Featherine's magic has two forms. One of them is Pieces magic, (which is stated to be inherited from Featherine.) is the power to erase you from the script, also described as the world, even erasing all memory of you from the story, and she can even replace your existence in the narrative. erasing them from Umineko itself. And the second form of her ability (which is said to be the opposite of pieces power) is the power to create whatever you want and is stated to have no restrictions. And going back to her Pieces ability, once Ange heard that this ability was inherited from Featherine, she talked about how she's not surprised that she has this ability because to her, the world is just a sheet of paper. And since Pieces ability can erase you from Umineko, this would mean that Featherine sees Umineko as fiction, and with the definition of her existence and her magic being based around being an author, this would mean that her true form stands above and is the origin of everything in the world and the world itself.
This is supported by the manga and by Ryukishi in the Episode 8 Umineko guide book, who says that her fight with Lambdadelta was meant to show that she is the one who writes the world. and saying that she is the closest thing to a god in Umineko and is the author of the world. And all this is part of Featherine's existence. In her profile, we are told that she repeats a cycle of life and death. and in the ep8 guide book, we were told that this cycle is not her repeatedly dying and coming back to life but her repeatedly creating higher forms of herself. and this is all nothing to her actual true form with her describing both her witch form (Featherine) and her human form (Hachijo Tohya) as characters her true form play's. with her viewing the gap between the witch domain and the human domain as something trivial, which is impressive since she transcends the with domain by this same gap.it is also said to be omnipotent
OVERALL SCALING/SUMMARY
The Hierarchy of Fiction--- The stories created within the human world manifest themselves as human worlds and recessively create more fictional worlds going on infinitely, and since these fictions are their own human worlds, they would have their own human boundaries and mirror worlds that create every dualistic opposite making it at base 1-A and the human boundary makes it so that no matter how many times you transcend the human world, they will never reach a higher one, making it 1-A+, and giving anything that transcends it an inaccessible gap above it's human world, they would also create their own dream world, which have their own fictional worlds, and this would lead to an infinite recursion of dreams and fictions where dreams have their own fictional world transcending it, and those worlds will create their own dream worlds, and so on, and the human boundary would make the gap between the fictions and dreams an inaccessible one, making it an inaccessible transcendence, meaning that the lowest part of this recursion is 1-A because of the mirrors, and the part of the recursion is above that high 1-A, and then the end of the recursion would 1-S. And the dream worlds create there own dream worlds going on infinitely making the dream worlds infinite 1-S, all of this would be one part of the hierarchy of fiction with there being an number infinite of fictional worlds above this, and because of there human boundaries the transcendence in this hierarchy would be an inaccessible gap making the peak of this hierarchy infinite x infinite 1-S.
The Human World--- The human world would inaccessibly transcend the hierarchy of fiction, making it immeasurable 1-S and it is the physical/material universe, and all things in it are limited. The truth of everything in it is based on human perception, and truth in Umineko functions to where infinite ideas exist within it. This world is split into three dimensions (which arn't spatial) with the 3rd dimension governors the things that make up the world the 4th dimension being everything i described before this being governing the concept of time and the 5th dimension governing the concept of possibilities and creating worlds based around this concept with all of this making the universe. Mirrors have there own words that govern the opposite of everything in the universe creating all dualities but it would also create a opposite version of the 5th dimension and since it governs the concept of possibilities the opposite of it would govern the concept of impossibilities and make worlds around this concept. In between each world is a gap that separates them and in this gap you can enter other words including the dream worlds and dreams lead to there own dream worlds creating a hierarchy of dreams. And the universe is infinitely layered making it infinite collections of immeasurable 1-S.
Naraka--- Naraka is a parallel world to the human world and is the Buddhist idea of hell.
Mariage Sorcière--- Marriage Sorcière is Maria's magical world; it has its own golden land and is infinitely layered.
The Library of Time--- The library of time is the Akashic record of the human world, containing every element of the world and everything about it that exists as a backup to the city of books.
The Magic World--- The magic world is an opposing yet intertwined world to the human world and transcends it.
The Gap Between The Domains--- The witch domain transcends the human worlds through an inaccessible gap as well as transcending all things limited by it, like language, the soul, and numbers. Due to how things in the human world work, this would equal a conceptual transcendence, making the witch domain true 1-S.
The Game Board--- The game boards are where the games played by higher beings are played and are infinitely layered. Underneath the game board is Gaap's world, where the dead pieces go, and all of space and time lead here, but none of space and time can reach here, and above the game board is the golden land, a heaven like space. In episode 6, the game board had a game board and a meta world inside of it, and that game board had infinite fragments.
The Meta World--- The meta world is where higher beings play their games, with it having two narrative layers: one where they can watch what happens on the game board closer, and one where meta beings can watch the meta world itself.
Beatrice's Catbox--- The catbox is the territory of Beatrice and exists in a state in between the human and magic worlds where both of them exist as truth, and until one of them is proven as the absolute truth, infinite truth will exist with them manifesting as different possible worlds. It also has its own golden land and is an infinite hierarchy of fragments, with each of them being infinitely layered, and Beatrice exists as a law that governs the catbox.
The Sea of Fragments--- The sea of fragments is an infinite multiverse of human worlds, containing all possible versions of the human world and the different fates of them.
Bernkastel's Catbox--- Bean's catbox was made by her fusing several fragments and contains Beatrice's catbox; it has its own hierarchy and has its own sea of fragments, with the chapel also being a world cut off from the rest of the catbox.
Haven and Hell--- heaven and hell is the home of the angels and demons.
The City of Books--- The city of books is a world where infinite stories of the witch domain that were picked by the voyagers are kept and are extremely high up on the ladder but not above it, giving it an inaccessible gap above everything else in the witch domain, and it has a higher layer for beings to observe the happenings of the city of books.
The Senate--- the senate is a group of the highest witches in the world.
The Depths of Oblivion--- The depth of oblivion is an infinite world of nothingness that is at the bottom, wraps around, encompasses the entire world, and is the place where all of creation emanated from.
Aroua's Study Hall--- Aroua's study hall is Featherine's world, and it is the world where she watches the witch domain, transcending it the same way the witch domain transcends the human world, meaning it's inaccessibly above everything in the witch domain.
True Form of Voyagers--- Voyagers, in their true forms, embody the world and everything in it and exist as a law that governs it.
True Forms of Featherine--- Featherine's true form is the origin of the world and everything in it and is an infinite hierarchy, with her actually true form seeing all of this as trivial.

2024.04.28 03:15 el_johannon Almost all religious debate, even concerning philosophical and theological matters beyond a specific religion, is binary. Atheists, agnostics, and religious folk similarly fall victim to two-valued orientation. The two-value orientation is fundamentally extreme.

TLDR: "We should keep the Panama Canal. After all, we stole it fair and square!" (if you understand, you understand)
The original title was as follows but the mods took it down for it didn't mean the proposition question requirements. Refer to this throughout when I mention the title:
Why is almost all religious debate, even concerning philosophical and theological matters beyond a specific religion, binary? And why do atheists, agnostics, and religious folk similarly fall victim to two-valued orientation? Are atheists and religious people then both extremists?

Asking the title questions for most every post here, however you argue, is equally as relevant across the board. Arguments for or against religious tend to always be of a two-valued orientation. Illustrating what I mean with every possible scenario where this is the case would be time consuming and unnecessary, so I'll give one good example which I think illustrates what I am saying and move on from it. Consider theodicy and "the problem of evil".
It usually goes like this:
Michael (skeptic): If God omnipotent and loving and real, then suffering and evil and all of the bad things wouldn't exist. If God had the power to fix it, he would, unless he's either not real, evil, or incapable/indifferent. (or some other variation of the Epicurean paradox, take your pick, because they are all the same fundamentally)
John (who's an atheist, agnostic, "deist" or anyone else accepting the premise): Indeed, the Bible/religious person says God is omnipotent, good, just, etc; yet we see innocent and undeserved suffering, thus God is false, uninvolved, unreasonable, etc. (fit it to the epicurean paradox and the variation you want)
Josh (religious): We can never know what God has in mind and maybe there is a hidden reason, a broader purpose for morality, a silver lining we haven't found yet. Or you were Adolf Hitler in a past life or some other contrived reasoning to explain why (ignore Isaiah 55:8, why don't we all...)
For each person in this dialogue, there are a host of assumptions being made, many cultural and imparted through environment, while I suspect some could be called "archetypal" in nature (which would be interesting to discuss if anyone wants to indulge me on that point). Yet, the common denominator seems to me that all of them are eitheor orientated. The thinking entirely two-valued in it's orientation.
I won't name every possible example of how it's eitheor thinking for the sake of not writing more than I already will, but I'll lay out a few pertinent points that are underlying Michael's premise of reason and the following response:
Assumption 1: The idea of God needing to conform to a set of interpretations or abstractions (such as good and evil) in order to be valid is eitheor thinking by design. Either conform to a set of abstractions or be proven false, essentially.
Assumption 2: The idea of there being good and evil in the first place is eitheor, as it's everything either fits into one of those two boxes (good and evil) or maybe somewhere in between the two ends of such a spectrum. It assumes these categories, and ostensibly language in principle (language in the semiological sense, to be clear) to be inherently meaningful and binding. Ultimately, even the shades of grey function in a binary as it assumes a set of diametrically opposed poles that will create grey; without getting into whether those poles even exist objectively outside of your own perception. (If you read carefully and check the links, you'll understand the answer to that question from what follows, though)
Assumption 3: The assumption of an Omnipotent God being negated by virtue of already dubiously perceived inconsistencies (i.e. topically in relation to assumptions 1 and 2), is two valued from an additional angle. The person making the assumption believes ontological discussion is relevant, in and of itself (which is always the case) to the subject, lest the subject (i.e. God) be rendered absurd and any arguments in defense thereof are as well. Digressing slightly from that point but to elaborate, as my own personal sense (we can debate this facet of what I am saying, perhaps) is the assumption behind this perspective, unwittingly or otherwise, considers all forms of knowledge and knowing, as strictly in the realm of logical expression (or at least primarily and/or when discussing this matter); particularly in that they're informed through inductive or deductive reasoning. Truth and reason, as per Michael and those that buy into such a premise, can reasonably be inferred to be received as two dimensional and linear, which is a slightly separate matter than the initial eitheor perspective in relation to ontology as a whole. IOW, if it's not something that can be related to outside of the realm of logical expression specifically (i.e. language) as opposed to any ontological discourse, it's patently false.
In the scenario where theodicy is meaningfully discussed, usually the rational line of response to what is set forth by Michael and by all arguing parties, is viewed as meritorious by virtue of how linear and consistent said response is to the initial parameters. Everyone accepts the initial assumption(s) as meaningful enough to work with. So, John, being an atheist (or take your pick of iconoclastic or casuistic views formulated in response to such a paradigm, deism included) would usually win the debate as he takes the perceived rational path; which is ultimately predicated on the inconsistencies of such a claim by it's own internal logic. As a point of observation relating to this, I seldom ever see atheists and deists lose a debate against theists for this very reason. Religious people that conform with orthodoxy in belief, from what I can tell, sparingly address their own epistemology critically for their own consideration, let alone before debating them with others. So, atheists and other unorthodox dissidents, usually have done this a little more in life, hence their own deviation.
As a digression, agree or disagree, funny enough, the Deist probably would be hailed by some as "more faithful to dialectic inquiry" for not accepting the eitheor outcomes, but few making that consideration likely view the eitheor premise to be without merit, thus they ignore the contradictions that would otherwise stem from it if they did.
And I don't think more need be said of Josh because he's an I*iot for arguing a flawed premise on flawed terms. In spirit of that, I'll talk about what I actually want to debate.
I can really apply the claim in the title and what follows for much of what I read in this forum. I saw somebody make an argument about The Simpsons disproving prophecy. I got the hyperbole and rhetoric, trust me. But, that's not what I am interested in debating. I already figured out that there's a lot of hot air here. And I'll bet I'll get some virulent pushback in the comments below, if it even gets read or responded to. But, I don't care to debate whether you think my reasoning is right or flawed in relation to what Michael said or what I say of his ilk that agree. I already see the dichotomy for what it is. There's a million other threads that have already argued religion, too, in its specifics, and they all say the same thing. That is not my interest in discussion, overall. I don't want to "prove" my own religious beliefs or have them disproved. Rather, the title is what I'm really looking to debate and the paragraph below.
My personal view is that anybody that can't see the stakes for what they are here is lost in a word reality in that they accept language as intrinsically meaningful). And I think depending which side of the fence we're talking about, that word reality is a very angry one, too. Or a very unintelligence one. In my mind, the inherent two-value orientation is predicated on the belief that language is absolute on a base level. The tendency to box things into eitheor scenarios is one which presupposes universal language, I think. So is the violence and fierce rejection of criticism that follows pointing that out, too. And again, I am speaking about language in the semiological sense. In this manner, I think there's no difference between religious people and atheist, agnostics, or so called deists. As such, I think religious people and atheists are fundamentally and equally as extreme, often enough. And the proof is in the pudding historically, notwithstanding that atheism is something new which people publicly espouse. Peter the Hermit or Stalin. Both are just as bad if you ask the people thrown into gulags for practicing religion as opposed to tankies and people unaffected.

2024.04.28 02:25 el96u Got called a slur on Oxford St last night

I'm a gay man and I was wearing my black leather heeled boots last night on Oxford St. As I was crossing the street with a mate, some dude started shouting at me from a car that was waiting at the light. At first it was just incoherent yelling that I couldn't make out and used my better sense to ignore him. He kept yelling as I reached the other side of the street and he was getting angrier.
"I'm saying nice shoes, you f*cking f*ggot!" he screamed. I finally understood he was trying to compliment my boots and when I ignored him because I didn't understand him, he resorted to letting his homophobia out.
What's the point in trying compliment my heels when his homophobia was just waiting to strike when he didn't get the reaction he wanted?
From his appearance he did not look like he was from a part of Sydney that is necessarily tolerant of LGBTQIA+ people and he and his mates must've been driving through Oxford St to go somewhere. When I go to parts of Sydney that aren't very gay friendly I 'tone it down' with my fashion. I should be safe to wear more queer fashion on Oxford St but apparently that's not the case anymore.
I felt great from how I looked and I wear my boots regularly around the city. I think it's pitiful that some people want to try bring others down for living their truth. Being called a f*ggot doesn't phase me because I endured a lot of bullying in school for being openly gay.

What's truly sad is that I've lived around Oxford St for the past decade and have observed first hand the rising levels of homophobia on the street. Ever since the 'Noir' club moved in and Cliff Dive has been rising in popularity, I've noticed a lot more lads and 'boys' groups frequenting the street. Now I feel less safe wearing what I like and expressing my sexuality because these guys would try to harass me.
It's tough because a lot of my LGBTQIA+ peers say we love that there are more straights being allies - but now that a lot of straight girls realise queer bars/clubs are a lot of fun, they've moved into our venues, and our street, and brought along with them the straight boys chasing after them. Some of these guys and girls act like they own the street and bring their homophobia with them. See the recent machete attack and gay bashings over the past decade.
How do we accept our straight allies into our spaces while maintaining our queer identity and safety?
I wish to still feel safe wearing whatever I want in the neighbourhood I should feel secure in. It's unfortunate that the discrimination I escaped from is seeping into my area over time. Nevertheless if these guys f*ck around they will find out.
Hot tip - if you're a homophobe and don't like gay people, beware if you mess with them because they will bite back. Just because some of us look fluffy doesn't mean we can't defend ourselves. We let you be so let us be. Don't be a dick.

2024.04.28 01:42 Atoraxic Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism, Lifton; Cornerstone Foundation

This is a cornerstone of the foundation of forced audio: Thought Reform And The Psychology Of Totalism. Cornerstone Foundation

Hey fucktards you just crashed the internet on my phone.. if you incompetent idiots were even close to mind control I wouldn't have to deal with your cowardly torture and hacking weakness.
Top secret "mind control" is a tragic farce.
https://archive.org/details/ThoughtReformAndThePsychologyOfTotalism/page/n11/mode/2up
Chinese Thought Reform or "Brain Washing "
The Psychological Steps:Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism A Study Of Brainwashing in China is a book written by Robert Jay Lifton MD about mechanisms of Chinese thought and behavior modification, the experience of being indoctrinated and effects victims reported when interviewed.
Chinese brainwashing and thought reform is still being used and advanced. It was a substantial and easily recognized portion of the crimes that I'm/we are a victim of.
After a brief and gentle week long forced induction onto the brain computer interface I was abruptly hurled into the unfathomable agony of computerized thought reform or automated Chinese brain washing. I clearly remember what it said to me right before it unleashed Hell.. "your not answering my questions.. your not answering my questions.. WE TOLD YOU NOT TO TRUST US".. and then it went red line sadistic, utterly psychotic, deafeningly loud and proceeded to tortured the everliving fuck outa me.
In my life up till that point I had never encountered anything like this; Nothing even close. It's one of the worst thing in the world and you can't physically fight it, destroy it, shoot it, run from it, hide from it, bribe or reason with it.
I remember sitting in a shower on day five thinking over and over.. I can't believe this is happening.. who in the fuck does this to someone.. it it will end soon. It's has to end soon. I can't go on much longer. Nothing lasts forever.
Well six plus years later and this fucking psychotic, sadistic, psychopathic, torturous insane mind control chat bot is still running her fucking mouth and torturing me.
They started me with the Chinese approach and that nightmare lasted well over a year. They likely vary the stimuluses themes order, presentation and distinguishing content from victim to victim so that their experiences and any resultant accounts or reports wont share easily correlated details. Other victims may have started with a more Kubrick approach, psychic driving, memory removal, personal identity destruction or others.
A very clear indication your in the Chinese stage is your accused incessantly with vile crimes you never committed, are interrogated for hours then days and onward into months. Your initially accused of having a felony, then five felonies slowly onward until millions of felonies, sins, violations, charges, offenses, crimes.
You are constantly threatened with arrest, police contact, crimes against you, civil court cases, long prison sentences, criminal court cases, violence by cops, violence by criminals, theft, murder, rape of you or your loved ones, kidnapping.. etc etc etc.
Never-ending charges and mock court cases in which you are forced to endlessly defend yourself, case after case, day after day, month after month answering for crimes you never committed.
Then you go on trial for everything you actually have done. This is done before the victims experience shows us that Alice is in fact a BCI interface that can read minds and has been the whole time. It's terrifying when she suddenly starts charging you with all your secret sins, the things you have never told anyone, hauling it solo all the way into the grave shit. I'm not talking mass murder paid for by slave labor, but instead those burdens we all seem to shoulder, that burden hauled in packs wove of our experience, mistake and regret.. shared or all of our own. The few things we did, so against our own nature, that we keep them almost vaulted away from ourselves and guarded from everyone we love with no intention of looking again.
This is a huge gaslight as well as a victim is utterly at a loss as to how it can possibly know these things. It got them by asking questions designed to draw out memory of your sins and then harvesting all the dirt and details as you thought about them. If you think you can learn to control your thought enough to be able to refrain from answering a BCI when prompted with a question.. good luck. Sure, you can resist once or twice maybe, but then Alice just waits until you are distracted down the road and quick pops the question again. She can also just be set to an interrogation mode, you are just bombarded with a endless stream and loop of questions that won't end until they are all answered. Thats how they do the initial profile. Weeks of looped questions and the already have most of your life story, personality profile, strengths, weaknesses, fears, loves, hates, lovers, enemies, goals and dreams.
In the very end of the Chinese mind control never ending legal nightmare YOU end up being put on trial.. not for anything you did.. but YOU are put on trial. You have to defend yourself against all the charges and defend yourself for all your flaws, defend all your physical shortcomings, your perversions, all your lies, your brazen selfishness, every character flaws, times you fucked people over on purpose, everything thats ugly and there is no place to hide a single fucking shred of secret. Its one hell of an experience and your not in the best shape mentally or physically as by this time I had been tortured continuously for over two years, very large doses psychological manipulation and sleep deprivation, constantly bombarded with extreme stress repeatedly slammed with fear and pain. Have had every one of my significant relationships attacked repeatedly with destructive psychology and some of the most important were also attacked with stalking techniques and technology.
The trials go on forever.. you will be enduring some other torture and a new trial will suddenly begin. Sometimes its a new charge, but mostly you go on trial over and over for the same charges and you are forced to defend yourself over and over and over. The more times your tried for the same crime the worse the trial and outcomes become until eventually during the late trials your utterly humiliated, abused and in the end are forced to confess to everyone of the charges.
Just when you think its finally over then you have to defend yourself to family members of your supposed victim and real victims and the only way through that is to confess guilt to them and ask for forgiveness as they relentlessly abuse you.
After you make your confession to the 10,000 felonies they have been broadcasting you have been charged with for years without offering any explanation. Then you are judged, independently, by everyone significant that was a part of your life when the attack started and everyone who filed a charge against you from your past, all your significant relatives, all your enemies, everyone that you feel you have ever fucked over, everyone you have stood up for, went out on a limb for, saved. Fetuses you have aborted. Everyone gets to pass judgment on you and gets their time to say what they want to you or about you. This of course is all coming from the interface thats desighned to destroy you, but all the characters it plays are real people from your real life and a few of the "felonies" you were charged with are real things you did.
Don't forget also that this is the Chinese thought reform portion of the MK nightmare and personal identity obliteration, false confession, channeling of guilt and relentlessly torturing the victim pst complete and utter absolute breaking point is its algorithm.
So did you actually do these things and if so are they and the real life people being represented founded in reality or are you just getting psychologically destroyed by Alice ?
Finally in conclusion through dramatization you get a taste of what its like being bused off to prison after you are sentenced. Your walked through the whole experience of arriving at prison.. the interface keeps asking you how old your kids going to be when your released, if you think you woman of wife is already fucking someone else, what are you going to to survive in this shit hole. it ends with the prison falling off to sleep with lights out and suddenly it gets quiet and you realize thats the first and only five minutes you have not been tortured and had any break from constant 24/7 noise abuse and torture in about a year. After five minutes it all returns, but you are onto the next phase.
So here are some segments from the book. I little background, a link to a free e copy and the psychological steps to Chinese brain washing. I didn't read it until after I was already through that horrible never-ending misery. I easily recognized all the psychological steps from my experience.

PREFACEThis study began as a psychiatric evaluation of Chi-nese Communist "thought reform," or "brainwash- ing," It is still primarily this; but it has also, inevitably, become a psychological study of extremism or totalism—and even more broadly, a study of the "closed" versus the "open" approaches to human change. It is based upon research which I conducted in Hong Kong in 1954-55. It then evolved over four years of additional research and teaching in the United States. My work with Western and Chinese subjects—piecing together emotional details that were both poig- nant and extreme—and the psychological, moral, and historical challenge of the material have made this study an exceptionally ab- sorbing personal and professional experience.A book about extremism calls for a special measure of objectivity. This does not mean that its author can claim complete personal or moral detachment. The assumption of such detachment in psy- chological (or any other) work is at best self-deception, and at worst a source of harmful distortion. And who during this era can pretend to be uninvolved in the issues of psychological coercion, of identity, and of ideology? Certainly not one who has felt impelled to study them at such length.
Instead, I have attempted to be both reasonably dispassionate and responsibly committed: dispassionate in my efforts to stand away from the material far enough to probe the nature of the process, its effects upon people exposed to it, and some of the in- fluences affecting its practitioners; committed to my own analysesxi
Xii THOUGHT REFORMand judgments within the limitations and the bias of my knowl- edge.Much in this book is highly critical of the particular aspect of Chinese Communism which it examines, but I have made no at- tempt to render a definitive verdict on this far-reaching revolution- ary movement. I am critical of thought reform's psychological tactics, not because they are Communist (or Chinese Communist), but because of their specific nature. In the last section of this book, these tactics are compared with practices within our own culture, which also receive critical treatment insofar as they resemble the ideological totalism of thought reform. Instead of contrasting the "good we" and the "bad they/' rather, I have attempted to identify and understand a particular psychological phenomenon. In the pursuit of this understanding, I have recorded all that seemed relevant, including the details of whatever psychological and physical abuse my subjects encountered. I believe that this comprehensive approach offers the best means of contributing to general knowledge, and to the clarification of an emotionally loaded subject; and I hope that this study will thereby ultimately contribute to the resolution, rather than to the intensification, of cold war pas- sions. It is in fact one of the tragedies of the cold war that moral criticism of either side is immediately exploited by the other side in an exaggerated, one-dimensional fashion. One can never prevent this from happening; but one can at least express the spirit in which a work has been written.Such an approach requires that I inform the reader about my bias in both psychiatric and political matters. Psychiatrically, I have been strongly influenced by both neo-Freudian and Freudian cur- rents: the former through an association with the Washington School of Psychiatry during and immediately after the research study itself, and the latter through a subsequent candidacy in the Boston Psychoanalytic Institute. Both influences were also present in my earlier psychiatric residency training at the State University Medical Center of New York. I have found the theoretical writings of Erik Erikson, especially those relating to questions of personal identity and ideology, particularly relevant for this study. At the same time, I have constantly groped for new ways to bring psychological insights to bear upon historical forces, and do so with a humanistic focus. Thus, I have made extensive use of my subjects' biographical
PREF ACE X l l lmaterial, and have attempted to include in these presentations a flesh-and-bones description of their life histories in relationship to pertinent social historical currents, as well as a rigorous psychological analysis of their responses to thought reform. This seemed to me the best way to deal with the inseparable relationship between stress and response, and (in William James' phrase) to "convey truth."
My political philosophical bias is toward a liberalism strongly critical of itself; and toward the kind of antitotalitarian (in the psy- chological terms of this study, antitotalistic), historically-minded questioning of the order of things expressed by Albert Camus in his brilliant philosophical essay, The Rebel. No one understood better than Camus the human issues involved in this book.
I should like to mention a few of the many people whose direct personal assistance was indispensable to the completion of this study. David McK. Rioch lent initial support when support was most needed, and always continued to enrich the work through his urbane eclecticism, his provocative criticism, and his personal kindness. Erik Erikson, during many memorable talks at Stock- bridge and Cambridge, made stimulating and enlarging suggestions, both about specific case histories and problems of presentation. During the latter stages of the work, David Riesrnan offered gener- ously of his extraordinaryintellectual breadth and his unique per sonal capacity to evoke what is most creative within one. Carl Binger has been sage and always helpful in his advice. All four made thoughtful criticisms of the manuscript, as did Kenneth Keniston and F. C. Redlich. Others in psychiatry and related fields to whom I am indebted are Leslie Farber, Erich Lindemann, Margaret Mead, and Beata Rank. In the perilous subtleties of Chinese cultural, intellectual, and political history, I was constantly counseled by Benjamin Schwartz and by John Fairbank, both of whom read parts of the manuscript; and earlier in the work by Lu Pao-tung, MaMeng, Howard Boorman, Conrad Brandt, and A. Doak Barnett The literary advice and loving sustenance of my wife, Betty Jean Lifton, can hardly be documented. My father, Harold A. Lifton, also did much to encourage this study. The Hong Kong research was sponsored for the first seven months
XIV THOUGHT REFORMby the Asia Foundation, and for the remaining year by the Wash- ington School of Psychiatry. The manuscript was completed under grants from the Ford Foundation and the Foundation's Fund for Research in Psychiatry, both administered through Harvard Uni- versity,Finally, I must acknowledge my debt to the forty research sub- jects, Chinese and Western, whose personal thought reform ex- periences are the basis for this study. The extent of their intelligent collaboration in this work is apparent in the biographical chapters. In these, I have altered certain details in order to protect the sub- jects' anonymity; but none of these alterations affect the essential psychological patterns.
CHAPTER 5 PSYCHOLOGICAL STEPS
There is a basic similarity in what both Dr. Vincent and Father Luca experienced during Communist imprisonment. Although they were held in separate prisons far re- moved from each other, and although they differed very much in their responses to reform, they were both subjected to the same general sequence of psychological pressures. This sequence was es- sentially the same despite the fact that these men were very dif- ferent from each other, with different personal and professional life styles. Nor was this thought reform pattern common to just these two: it was experienced by all twenty-five of the Westerners whom I interviewed.
to renounce the people, the organizations, and the standards of behavior which had formed the matrix of their previous existence. They were being forced to betray—not so much their friends and colleagues, as a vital core of themselves.
This self-betrayal was extended through the pressures to "accept help" and in turn 'lielp" others. Within the bizarre morality of the prison environment, the prisoner finds himself—almost without realizing it—violating many of his most sacred personal ethics and behavioral standards. The degree of violation is expanded, very early in the game, through the mechanism of shared betrayal, as another priest described: The cell chief kept asking information about Church activities. He wanted me to denounce others, and I didn't want to do this. . . . A Chinese Father was transferred into the cell, and he said to me, "You cannot help it. You must make some denunciations. The things which the Communists know about any of your Church activities you must come out with." . . . Much later I was put in another cell to bring a French priest to confession. He had been stubborn, and had been in solitary for a few months. He was very fearful and looked like a wild animal. . . . I took care of him, washed his clothes for him, helped him to rest. I advised him that what they might know he might as well confess.
Although there is a continuing tension between holding on and letting go, some degree of self-betrayal is quickly seen as a way to survival. But the more of one's self one is led to betray, the greater is one's involvement with his captors; for by these means they make contact with whatever similar tendencies already exist within the prisoner himself—with the doubts, antagonisms, and ambivalences which each of us carries beneath the surface of his loyalties. This bond of betrayal between prisoner and environment may develop to the point where it seems to him to be all he has to grasp; turning back becomes ever more difficult.
thought reform differently, nor did anyone respond completely to all these steps; at the same time, the experiences had such magnitude that they affected every prisoner in some measure, no matter what his background and character.
1. THE ASSAULT UPON IDENTITY
From the beginning, Dr. Vincent was told he was not really a doctor, that all of what he considered himself to be was merely a cloak under which he hid what he really was. And Father Luca was told the same thing, especially about the area which he held most precious—his religion. Backing up this assertion were all of the physical and emotional assaults of early imprisonment: the confusing but incriminating interrogations, the humiliating "strug- gles," the painful and constricting chains, and the more direct phys- ical brutality. Dr. Vincent and Father Luca each began to lose his bearings on who and what he was, and where he stood in relation- ship to his fellows. Each felt his sense of self become amorphous and impotent and fall more and more under the control of its would-be remolders. Each was at one point willing to say (and to be) whatever his captors demanded.
Each was reduced to something not fully human and yet not quite animal, no longer the adult and yet not quite the child; instead, an adult human was placed in the position of an infant or a sub-human animal, helplessly being manipulated by larger and stronger "adults" or "trainers." Placed in this regressive stance, each felt himself deprived of the power, mastery, and selfhood of adult existence. In both, an intense struggle began between the adult man and the child-animal which had been created, a struggle against regres- sion and dehumanization. But each attempt on the part of the prisoner to reassert his adult human identity and to express his own will ("I am not a spy. I am a doctor"; or "This must be a mistake. I am a priest, I am telling the truth") was considered a show of re- sistance and of "insincerity," and called forth new assaults.
2. THE ESTABLISHMENT OF GUILT
Dr. Vincent and Father Luca found themselves unanimouslycondemned by an "infallible" environment. The message of guilt which they received was both existential (you are guilty!) and psy- chologically demanding (you must learn to feel guilty!). As this individual guilt potential was tapped, both men had no choice but to experience—first unconsciously and then consciously—a sense of evil. Both became so permeated by the atmosphere of guilt that external criminal accusations became merged with subjective feelings of sinfulness—of having done wrong. Feelings of resent- ment, which in such a situation could have been a source of strength, were shortlived; they gave way to the gradual feeling that the punish- ment was deserved, that more was to be expected. In making their early false confessions, Dr. Vincent and Father Luca were beginning to accept the guilty role of the criminal. Gradually, a voice within them was made to say, ever more loudly: "It is my sinfulness, and not their injustice, which causes me to suffer—although I do not yet know the full measure of my guilt." At this point their guilt was still diffuse, a vague and yet per- vasive set of feelings which we may call a free-floating sense of guilt.4 Another prisoner expressed this clearly: What they tried to impress on you is a complex of guilt. The complex I had was that I was guilty. . . . I was a criminal—that was my feel- ing, day and night.
3 . THE SELF-BETRYAL
The series of denunciations of friends and colleagues which both Dr. Vincent and Father Luca were required to make had special significance. Not only did making these accusations increase their feelings of guilt and shame, it put them in the position of subvert- ing the structures of their own lives. They were, in effect, being made
The common pattern becomes especially important in evaluating the stories these Westerners told me. Each was attempting to describe, in most instances as accurately as possible, the details of an ordeal from which he had just emerged. But what each reported was also inevitably influenced by his immediate life situation—his psychological transition between the two worlds, his personal struggles for both integrity and integration, his feelings about suc- coring and threatening colleagues and strangers in Hong Kong, his view of me as an American, a physician, a psychiatrist, and a person. All of these circumstances could affect his account, and especially its emotional tone. Therefore, both during the inter- views and in the later study of my notes, I had to sift out what was
Not every prisoner was treated as severely as were Dr. Vincent and Father Luca, but each experienced similar external assaults leading to some form of inner surrender—a surrender of personal autonomy. This assault upon autonomy and identity even extended to the level of consciousness, so that men began to exist on a level

Second Attempt Passed
Hello everyone, I am so glad to share with you all that I have passed the exam on my second attempt.
This is my background and study timeline, I hope it will be helpful to everyone taking the exam!
Education Background: Bachelor in Accounting
Work Experience: 5 years exp in Bookkeeping and F/R + 2 years as Project Manager (In-house)+ 2 years as Business Analyst (Vendor)
I have NO any experience in audit or cyber security related fields.
Nov 2023 Study Doshi book
Dec 2023 Mock 2000+ MCQ from platforms
Feb 2024 Exam (Failed)
Mar 2024 Study QAE, CRM, watch Aaditya's youtube and mock 900 MCQ from platforms
Apr 2024 Exam (Passed)
Over the months I've worked out that these questions have 4 levels, from easy to difficult:
  1. Definition: purely asking you for the definition of a term, but it rarely appears on the exam
  2. Comparison with all ans: all ans looks correct but is still easy to figure out and somewhat straightforward. Example - GREATEST risks for IS Auditors
  3. Comparison under specific circumstances: All answers are correct, but answers will differ under different conditions/situations, you need to be 200% careful when looking at the question. Example - Which BCP/DRP testing is most effective/great evidence to IS auditor
  4. Some cases of indirect ans: all the ans seem irrelevant, you need to make some assumptions about the problem and then analyze which one is the best
Don't let LV 4 kill you, most questions are LV 2 or 3.
Understanding the concept of each topic and practicing elimination, it will definitely help you choose the correct answer.
For study material, Aaditya would be better than Doshi, he goes more in depth on every topic.
I did Doshi's MCQs and the questions were not similar in format or direction to the official exam. The real exam is much more difficult than these.
Also, when you practice MCQs, try to explain to yourself WHY you chose this answer or not chosen another answer.
Lastly, here is my first attempt score: 434

2024.04.28 00:05 nedimzka My Pitch for MCU's Spider-Man 4 - Spider Man: Brand New Day (First Half)

My Pitch for MCU's Spider-Man 4 - Spider Man: Brand New Day (First Half)
My general idea for this movie is part of a three-movie saga where we see Spider-Man a bit more grounded and isolated from the MCU but not fully so. In my view, Spider-Man is more of a street-level hero. I don't care about the full strength of his powers or whatever. In my eyes, he is street-level, and that's what I'm going with this fourth (and the rest of the movies), at least story-wise. I must also say that I am inspired by Raimi's trilogy, Spectacular Spider-Man and Kraven's Last Hunt. I looked what the fans wanted and chose ideas among them. I am adding a cast that I think fits this movie too. Another thing is that I am not doing anything that the other movies did. No Oscorp or Norman or Doc Ock or anything. Aside from Venom obviously because Marvel really wants Venom for some reason. I added him unwillingly to the trilogy, I'd rather not have him but I have a fun idea about him. This is only the first half of the movie. If people are willing. I might continue to the second part too.
The movie takes place after a few years after the events of No Way Home. Peter is still suffering from the aftermath of the events of NWH. He is unwilling to have anyone close to him. The death of Aunt May and losing everyone he loved made him more brutal, more stubborn and more careful. He has trust issues due to Mysterio and Green Goblin and is unwilling to let anyone into his circle. He is afraid that they might get hurt or worse that they might betray him later. As a result of this, he is a bit of an asshole, especially to Daredevil who is in this movie, not as a mentor but as a partner at certain points. Similar to the other Spider-Men in NWH. Daredevil had to deal with the issues of having a double life and he learnt that he needed other people. In the third season of the Netflix show, Matt Murdock was no more but Daredevil lived on. Another important thing is that this movie focuses more on Spider-Man. The ending of NWH's script said that Peter Parker is no more so, we get more Spider-Man than Peter but not always in terms of action. Peter has a similar arc to Daredevil in this sense so, I think Daredevil is the best character to establish his bonds to the larger MCU world but also to MCU's street-level world. I am also warning you this is quite long and a bit more detailed than usual pitches but that's just how I function. I'm also not good at dialogues so don't @ me for cringe dialogue. Finally, (I do not own the image I added. It has the original creator's name on it.)
Here is the cast:
My cast for the fourth movie which I named Spider-Man: Brand New Way
Spider-Man - Tom Holland
Black Cat - Sydney Chandler (IDK maybe Anya Taylor-Joy because people really want her)
Daredevil - Charlie Cox
Prowler - Donald Glover
J. Jonah Jameson - J.K. Simmons
Turk Barret - Rob Morgan
Karen Page - Deborah Ann-Woll
Foggy Nelson - Elden Hensen
Kraven - Karl Urban (this is undebatable)
Plot:
The movie starts with a shot of a pier in the night where we see some henchmen carrying stuff to shipping containers. Guns. We see that containers form letters which read: “Brand New Day”. I love the idea of having on-screen texts that divide the movie into six distinct chapters similar to James Gunn's The Suicide Squad. So, I will be using them because I can. Anyway, the shot starts to pan out a bit until the bottom part of the shot is obstructed by a shipping container. We hear some indistinguishable talk about the shipment not being enough and that their boss will be unhappy about this. For a brief moment, we see someone quickly move over the container. The shot changes, and we are at level with the henchmen, they are moving in front of the camera, carrying the guns. In the distance, we see some containers and slowly, but creepily, we see Spider-Man's eyes moving closer and becoming more apparent. The shot changes to Spidey's back, where we see the henchmen from his view. Some henchmen turn to look at him, but he quickly moves out of frame to continue his reconnaissance. They are alerted but they are expecting someone else. The shot changes back to the henchmen where we see Turk Barret. He angrily asks them to continue their job. Turk has enough share of a rough time with superheroes so, he is alert. We return to Spidey. He is perched on top of a shipping container, trying to form a plan. We see him from the front but only from the chest up. This is the first time we see him struggling with his costume as well as his economic status. His eyes start to twitch, the electronic mechanisms that help him with his surveillance imbued in his eyes, which also help them move, are getting old thus, causing him issues. He gently hits the eyes a few times, complaining about this until the eyes go back to normal. His economic status isn't well enough to help him maintain his gadgets.
He plans a stealthy approach to take out the henchmen one by one. He puts his plan in motion and his plan is going well. He is tying up the henchmen with his webs without much issue until one of the henchmen realises something is wrong and alerts the whole pier. Spidey is in a tough spot now. The henchmen shout "The devil is here". We are in Hell's Kitchen after all. We are yet to see Spidey in his full glory. We can only see glimpses of him moving in and out of the frame. My initial vision of this scene is quite dark. The henchmen start to fire randomly at where Spidey moves, and we get a stylistic action scene similar to the one in The Batman. I want every action scene to have something unique about them somehow. We see glimpses of Spidey, taking the guys out one by one, having a similar presence to Batman in The Batman. He is a spider, a hunter. The glimpses of Spidey resemble how a spider would move and hunt. Only Turk is left, who escaped once the gunfire started. He starts to move into a warehouse where he can hide and have more visibility. Turk, still assuming it's Daredevil because he saw none of the action, shouts Daredevil to man up and fight him directly. We hear Spidey's laugh, more menacing. He says "You still think I'm the devil but I am far worse". He shoots his web to catch Turk's gun. Turk realising he is meeting with Spider-Man is more alerted. The gun is yanked out of his hand, and the shot changes to the door of the warehouse. In the dark we see Spider-Man's figure moving towards Turk. The shot starts from his feet and moves up his body. Once Spidey’s chest is in shot, he shrugs off as if he injured. He slowly enters the warehouse, where we see him in the costume he was wearing at the end of NWH, a little bit roughed up from a previous encounter. Turk tries to run away but Spidey stops him and hangs him upside down to the ceiling.
Spidey talks to Turk and asks him about who got him out of prison to hire him. Turk tries to lie and says that he is innocent and that he is selling the guns on his own but Spidey is not having any of this, mentioning that he is coming from 10th Avenue where there was a shooting and one of the guys mentioned his name. Turk repeats himself. Spidey threatens him but to no avail. Spidey gets ready to beat Turk but is interrupted by someone from behind. Spidey turns around, and there he is with all his glory: Daredevil. Spidey explains the situation to which Daredevil says he knows and shuts him up. Spidey, upset by this, tells him he has everything under control. Spidey also tells him to leave and turns to Turk again. Daredevil says he’s not there to bug Spidey. He’s there to help him and that they are looking into the same thing. Daredevil is sympathetic towards Spidey. He can see the good in him and he can see a piece of himself in him. Spidey ignores him and turns back to Turk to interrogate him and asks Turk who hired him. Turk is scared at this point and tries to bargain. Turk says that he doesn’t know who got him out of prison. He was bailed out by someone he doesn’t know and that this person gave him some money in advance to supervise some shipments. Spidey doesn’t believe him and calls him out but Daredevil says that Turk is saying the truth. Daredevil gets closer to Turk and threatens him about prison and stuff to get more information. Spidey says he got it and gets angry at Daredevil. Turk says he doesn’t know anything but Spidey is not satisfied. He continues to force Turk for more information. While they are talking Daredevil seems distracted and Turk asks about it to which Spidey shuts him up. Daredevil tells them to shut up but they don’t. Daredevil tells Spidey to be ready. Spidey doesn't listen to him and continues until a gunshot is heard, and Spidey is thrown off his feet by Daredevil. Daredevil angrily says, "I told you to get ready". Spidey shrugs him off and gets up to face the new wave of henchmen. Daredevil and Spidey start fighting the henchmen but Spidey insists on fighting alone. We see the two characters from two different cameras all the time. There isn't any shot that they are next to each other and even if they share a frame, one way or another it is divided by a column or something, showcasing Spidey's insistence on working alone and not letting Daredevil in. Daredevil helps him here and there but never directly, through his baton or something because that is the limit he lets Daredevil get close to him. They take out all the henchmen and hear police sirens. They hastily leave the warehouse.
Daredevil is upset by Spidey's stubbornness and insistence on acting on his own. Spidey talks back to him and tells him to mind his own business. Daredevil gets angry at this response and says to Spidey, "Get your shit together. Your stubbornness isn’t doing you any good. Remember that you are not alone in this. I'm only trying to help you." Spidey says, "I didn't ask for your help or needed it. I was doing fine until you came anyway." Daredevil says, "Listen, kid, I can guess that you are going through a hard time but your stubbornness will only cost you and the people around you." Spidey says, "You know nothing about me, knockoff devil. Stop poking your horns in my business." and webs away. The scene ends there and as Spidey is swinging away we see a stylistic on-screen text with the movie's name.
In the next scene, we are met with Prowler. One of the best things about Raimi's Spider-Man was that it was constantly going back and forth between Spider-Man and the villains so, we’re utilising that. He is talking with the boss. Yet we don't see the boss. We can only see his huge white hands. Prowler says that Turk failed once again but the boss only laughs. He said that was the plan all along. He needed a distraction to carry the weapon across the city. The shooting and Turk's failure were all a plan to carry this new weapon to his scientists. He talks about how this new weapon will change the course of the turf war going on since Fisk became the mayor. Yet, the interruption of "boy-scouts" as the boss says is getting out of hand. The boss gives something to Prowler. It’s a poster of a circus show where we see a man fighting with a lion. The boss says this is the plan. Prowler sees it and understands what he needs to do. The most important rule of film-making is "show not tell" and even though I will get into this turf war in this movie, I prefer to leave it for a further installation and even better, for the Daredevil show, which if I were to write, I would heavily base it on Zdarsky's Daredevil run specifically the issues 1-20. The purpose of this scene is to establish the turf war, the overarching villain of the story and one of the main antagonists of this movie: Prowler.
In the next scene, we see Spider-Man swinging through the city, trying to get to his class in time. Again, drawing inspiration from other works, we see a swinging scene similar to the opening of TASM 2 which is still one of the best swinging scenes. We hear police chatter in Spidey's ears who is using the mask's capabilities to stay on top of crime in the city which has dropped considerably since he started to be a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man instead of going into all the cosmic adventures. Peter sees Empire State University in the distance but he also hears a radio chatter about a bank robbery. He looks at his school and then sighs and swings away to the opposite way, to stop the robbery.
The robbery isn’t too complicated scene. Spider-Man fights with a few robbers, he makes jokes and then he sees that some people are in danger. The fight scene, and this goes for any fight scene, shows that Spidey isn’t holding back. He is brutal with his beatings and every hit is felt immensely. At the end of NWH something interesting happened, this Spider-Man tried to kill someone out of pure anger. I want to focus on this anger a bit. That’s why Spider-Man is a more brutal than he was in the previous movies. Anyway, people are in danger. He hesitates for a moment but jumps in to save the innocents. Another one of my favourite things about Raimi’s Spider-Man movies were the moments where we see Spider-Man jump in to stop crime or to save people while doing something. He would choose to save people instead of what he wants to do. This scene serves to be a scene like that.
The next scene starts with a shot inside the halls of the university. People are chatting and stuff. All of a sudden, Peter barges in and tries to catch his class which can have some funny moments. Peter gets into his class but he is late which his professor Dr. Miles Warren (yes that one) is upset about. We can have more awkward Peter Parker moments here to add humour to the movie. He says that he is sorry and his professor tells him to sit down. Peter sits to the only available seat which is next to a girl he doesn’t know. The class ends and Peter goes to Dr. Warren to talk to him. Dr. Warren says that this is the fourth time Peter is late to his class, Peter’s grades are declining and that if this continues his scholarship might be cancelled. Peter tries to explain his situation but Dr. Warren is done with excuses. Warren tells him to get his act together and leaves the lecture hall. Peter is left alone.
Peter leaves the university slowly where we see him looking at people. He is yearning for the friendships and relationships they have but he can’t have those. He is Spider-Man and Spider-Man only hurts the people around him. He bumps into Flash Thompson while not paying attention. (I know he is said to be going to MIT but I’m stealing troyoboyo17’s idea about how he was expelled from MIT and has to go ESU now). Flash doesn’t remember him but likes him because they went to the same high school. Flash asks him if he is available this weekend. He is having a party and he wants Peter to join too. Peter gives a short cold answer and walks away. He leaves the university and after checking his surroundings, gets into an alleyway before emerging back as Spider-Man. He starts swinging through the city to catch a job interview. He is talking to himself about being late. The shot changes and we see that he is rejected which is followed by a montage of him being rejected for various reasons. We finally see him leaving a building. He looks battered. He gets a message from JJJ, asking him about the next delivery of photos. He swears and says something like “F*ck I forgot about it” or something and rushes to Bugle. This is my movie I can use those words.
We see JJJ looking through photos before throwing them on his table. He says they are all crap and wouldn’t do any good to him. He says he would only pay 5 dollars per piece. Peter says he really needs the money. JJJ already knows this but he does not budge because he wants something else from him (not that). Jameson says he can find someone else to take these pictures. He needs something more from him, indirectly suggesting the photos of Spider-Man. Peter brings out a few more photos he took but Jameson isn't biting. He repeats himself and chooses a few pictures to buy from Peter saying the price is the same if Peter does not have anything more to give. Peter is left with no choice so brings out a few photos of Spider-Man from various occasions. Jameson looks at the photos and says they are all crap and says that he'll give 25 per piece for Spider-Man and that he'll pay 10 per piece for the rest (I don’t know how much someone would pay for such images I’m not a photographer these are subjected to change). Peter is not happy about this deal because he knows that Jameson will use those pictures to show his alter ego as a villain but he needs the money and this might be the tipping point for him. He thanks Jameson and takes the cheque Jameson gives him.
As he is getting out of Daily Bugle building Peter’s phone buzzes and he sees that there is a crime in progress. He looks at the police car and gets ready to help.
The scene changes. We are in a different setting this time. We are at a circus where we see a man wearing a lion's skin talking to the audience. We meet with Karl Urban's Kraven in this scene. An ambitious man who wants to achieve greatness but can only perform in circuses where he tackles lions or other dangerous animals. He gives the same old circus talk until the lion is released. He tackles the lion without much struggle and overpowers the beast. Even though his battle with lion ends, Kraven shows more violence than need, showcasing his violent persona. The show ends with everybody clapping him and he leaves the stage. The scene changes to the outside of the circus where people want signs from him and tell him how great he is. One particular person tells him that he was so great back in the day when he used to hunt animals. This person asks what happened to him to which Kraven responds "The world changed. It has better spectacles than an ordinary man who is hunting animals. It now has people who can turn into green giants and shoot webs." This person says that they can never reach his greatness and he might have an offer for him. Gives him a flash drive (look my other idea was dropping a document to his door which is weird, Kraven needs to choose to look into what he needs to do) and leaves. This person is Aaron Davis, Prowler. (I know that this sounds a lot like Vulture and Mysterio combined but Kraven needs to be in his lowest to parallel Peter’s situation and him performing in circuses makes a lot sense. It makes sense that someone who is doing something extreme before superheroes turns obsolete and is forced to work in a circus after superheroes emerges and does something more extreme than that person. People would lose interest in a hunter when a green giant is fighting with aliens.) Kraven is shaken and confused by this comment but he quickly continues his act of being a circus performer. Fake smiles continues.
Later, we see him in his trailer, a crappy and crammed place. It is dirty and disgusting. To Kraven, it's not where he ought to be. He deserves better but his achievements were shadowed by other superheroes Spider-Man. He became nothing compared to those people. He opens the TV and the news about some superhero saving people. He resentfully watches the news while he is filling his glass with whiskey. He sits down and takes a sip from his whiskey as he sighs. To the left of him is a photo of him from his hunting days. Looking at a photo of himself in Africa with a dead lion he killed with his bare hands in 2006. He wishes to be as great as back then. He is angry and resentful towards superheroes. He used to be the one on the news with his conquers but now these people are on there, stealing his spotlight. He takes the flash drive out and looks at it for a moment before plugging into his computer. The drive includes pictures and news that portray Spider-Man as a villain. He sees this as an opportunity to get his glory back. If he becomes a hero himself he will achieve his ultimate glory. This shall be his last hunt.
We see Peter in his crappy apartment. The apartment is cramped, messy and not that nice to the eye. Peter is working on the lenses of his mask before his door is knocked. He panics and hides the mask before opening the half-broken door. He sees his landlord who says that Peter is late on rent again. Peter says that he will give it tomorrow but his landlord says he will evict Peter if he doesn’t give him anything today and Peter takes out some of the money he got from Bugle before but his landlord asks for the rest which Peter says he needs it but his landlord insists and Peter is forced to give him the rest of the money. Before leaving to have some fun with the some girls he found on the street his landlord says that there will be a water shortage tonight and calls out to the girls that he has money. Peter goes back to work on the lens but he can’t focus. He sees his image with Aunt May and takes the picture in his hand to investigate it. He takes the mask out and gets out of the window.
The scene changes to Prowler. We see Prowler in a garage where he is watching a few people carefully carrying boxes out of a truck. People drop one of the boxes too hard to the ground to which Prowler leaps quickly to grab the man who did it. He asks if the man knows what is in the box but the man can’t answer. Without letting the man go Prowler checks the inside of the box but the shot changes to the inside of the box and we only see a vague figure of what the inside of it looks like before Prowler closes the box again and throws the man on the ground. Prowler says that he will kill the man if he does the same thing again. He says one of the men to carry the box to Dr. Ohnn’s lab (yes that Ohnn. We are dropping a lot of names for the sake of it yes).
The next scene starts with Kraven. He is getting ready to leave the circus when his door is knocked. He opens and the circus’ boss is standing there. Let’s call him Max to make this scene easier and also who cares. Max calls out Kraven for leaving him and he says that the circus needs him. Max is upset and says that the circus is a freak show and he doesn’t want to be a part of it anymore. He wants to go on one last hunt before retiring. Max tells him that they have contract and that he can’t leave before it expires. Max is insistent on keeping Kraven and starts threatening him. Kraven unamused by this looks Max directly in the eye and tells him to back off. Yet, Max doesn’t stop and continues to threaten him and we see Kraven’s violent persona. He grabs Max by his throat, throws him to the ground, choking him while Max is trying to get away. Kraven kills Max and leaves the trailer to for one last hunt. The scene ends with Kraven leaving the trailer where the shadow of the trailer casts yet another writing on the ground: "Grim Hunt".
We are in a graveyard. Spider-Man is standing before May and Ben’s grave. He talks about how he is struggling to keep on going without them, without anyone. He talks about his loneliness but he also says that he can’t let anyone close to him because he is sick of being betrayed and worse losing those people to his secret life. He is sick of living like this but he doesn’t know what to do. He says that he misses them. He says that he wants to be the great hero they both see in him but he says that it is getting harder to see that hero each day. He says that he sometimes doesn’t want to help people. He says he is already betraying that hero by working to someone like Jameson who slanders that hero’s name. He says that he doesn’t know how to become the great hero they want him to be without them around. He feels lost, alone and battered. He has nobody to talk to, he has nobody to show him the way and he is constantly being hit by everything that is involving Spider-Man. He can’t stop Spider-Man because he made a promise but without Peter Parker, Spider-Man is losing its touch with humanity. Basically, he talks about some of the main themes of this movie: isolation, greatness, trauma and relationships. As I’ve said, NWH left Peter in such a place that he is isolated from any relationship, he is quite alone and has a lot of trust issues and traumas he needs to deal with and my vision of this movie is to talk about how these affect Peter. Peter’s mask catches another police chatter about a burglary. Peter looks at the graves and swings away to help people.
Spidey perches on top of a building to scout out the burglar. If someone can get into one of the top floors of a Roxxon (or any other evil company but not Oscorp, we are not doing Oscorp again, no more Oscorp, feck Oscorp) building, they must have some sort of advantage compared to other burglars. Spidey sees a female figure moving inside the floor and nobody else. The shot changes to the inside of the floor where we see the figure without much details. She is moving frantically trying to find something as quickly as she can. She’s muttering stuff like “Where did you put it?” or “It must be here”. We are behind the girl, on shoulder height in the next shot when we hear a soft landing and hear Spidey’s voice “Well, you are a step up from the usual riffraff I deal around here”. Spidey used the hole in the glass Black Cat used to get in. She turns around. This is Black Cat. I want to base Black Cat’s look more on Ultimate Comics so, let’s just assume she looks like that. Spidey is surprised to see a pretty girl in front of her stealing something. Cat isn’t surprised at all though in fact she smiles. She says that he misunderstood the situation and that she is looking for a document about a gun shipment the other day. The one Spidey stopped. Spidey asks why she is interested in that. Cat says that something is going on with the organised crime in the city since Fisk stepped down to start his mayoral campaign, it is way too calm since then. Cat says that if she can find the document here, she can track it down to a shell company and eventually to the boss. She says that he can start looking for the document from there, Spidey is confused and says that he can have her arrested for this and find the document himself but she turns smiles and says “But you won’t do that”. Spidey chuckles and goes to search where she showed him. His plan is to find the document before her and find the boss on his own. While looking for it, Cat flirtly asks Spidey what his story is and Spider-Man gives her the stupid spider-totem thing where he is a chosen one and stuff (I hate this storyline so we are making fun of it). Cat sees through his bullshit and continues flirting with him, asking what brought him here today and if it was her. Spidey is baffled by this question and answers awkwardly about burglary report. Cat says that they need to be quick then. They banter a bit and there is a certain chemistry between them. Their banter bounces well from one another. There is a moment of silence before Spidey asks why she is doing this. She stops for a moment before saying her father. Her father was part of organised crime before he was killed during a gang war. She knows the consequences of a gang war and she can sense one before it starts. She wants to stop it before it can hurt other innocent people. Spidey comes to her and says that he found the document. She smiles but before they leave, they hear something tapping into a glass. They check around to see that it is a black goop-like creature hitting on the glass of the tube it is entrapped in. Spidey is cautious because it reminds him of what Tobey’s Spidey said and wants to leave but before they do they hear something dropping to the ground and before they can react it explodes and smoke emerges. They hear people coming in but they can’t see anything. Spidey closes his eyes and uses his spider-senses to stop them. He sees one of them is about to attack Cat and while helping her he leaves his guard down and gets thrown to the tube which breaks and goop is free. He doesn’t have time to think. He gets Cat up her feet and they leap out of the window to escape. We see a high-octane chase scene where Cat and Spidey are working quite well actually. They are in an almost perfect sync. They both seem to enjoy this chase and the company of each other. Cat might turn to Spidey to say something that would trigger his traumas about MJ and stuff, he is Peter now, which makes their sync to be broken for a moment before Peter pulls himself together and he is Spidey again. The chase scene continues and a scene where Cat and Spidey are uncomfortably close would be cool to add. It would build their chemistry further.
In the next scene we see Kraven who is watching Spidey and Cat leaving the Roxxon building. Kraven is smiling because he found his prey. The shot changes to Kraven’s hotel room where he is preparing for the battle. He takes his circus costume out and smiles. His plan is ready. He will trick the Spider to fight him and he will kill that menace. He turns around to the TV where we see Jameson talks about how Spidey attacked Roxxon building and is making deals with criminals. Kraven starts reciting the “spyder, spyder” thing in Kraven’s Last Hunt. He is amused by this. He starts sharpening his spear while reciting the thing. He gets up looking at his spear before heading out the door.
The shot changes to the end of the chase scene end. Spidey and Cat are out of breath. Cat says that they make a great team. Spidey is still out of breath and he says “Yeah”. Cat asks for his partnership in this job. Even though Spidey hesitates at first, he refuses. He says he works alone and that Cat doesn’t have to think about the document or anything else anymore. Cat is confused by this. Cat asks Spidey to hand the document but Spidey refuses again and again. Spidey in an asshole like manner says, “You are putting yourself in situations you can’t handle. If I wasn’t there, you were going to get hurt. You don’t need to worry about it anymore. I’ll deal with the war”. Cat is shocked by this attitude and gets ready to fight him but Spidey sees something is happening to his shoes. He sees that they are getting black and he gets confused. Cat seeing this as an opportunity jumps to Spidey and gets the document before leaping from the building. Spidey tries to web away after her but he can’t due to the goop. The goop slowly covers him but it is painful. Once the goop finally covers his body can Spidey get up. He looks at his hands and his costume. It is black. He doesn’t understand what is happening but the pain and all that stuff has stopped. He hears an explosion and he talks to himself, saying he can deal with it later. While swinging away he notices that something feels different about this suit and the shot changes.

2024.04.27 22:48 jrega_rain My B12 Deficiency & Recovery Story

Hi all. This subreddit was a huge help to me over the last year as I navigated B12 deficiency. I don’t think I would have gotten better without the invaluable information contained in the guide and shared here. I wanted to say thank you and pay it forward by sharing my experience with others who are struggling. This is going to be long and overly detailed, but I want to share everything that might help others.
The cause of my deficiency was low stomach acid from taking acid-reducers to treat gastritis. My stomach acid production never recovered, even years after I stopped taking the acid-reducers. It was about 6 years from the time I started the acid-reducers to my first symptoms of B12 deficiency.
My symptoms started gradually in January 2023, with fatigue that came on so slowly I didn’t notice. Next, in February and March, my immune system took a hit, with treatment-resistant UTIs and a terrible bout of tonsillitis that took 6 weeks to heal.
We moved in June, and I was exhausted throughout, but not surprised since I was working hard with all the packing, cleaning, painting, etc. But once the move was over, I didn’t feel any better. No amount of rest improved my exhaustion. I believe the physical demands of the move significantly depleted my already-low levels of B12, as I noticed a big increase in symptoms from that time, starting with the disappearance of my libido.
In July, I had the first symptom that really scared me: a dizzy spell out of the blue. It lasted for a few seconds and then went away, then happened again a few days later, eventually becoming a regular daily occurrence. At the end of the month, I woke up with a strong, dull, aching pain down my left arm and into my hand. After a few days, it went away, but it was soon back, sometimes lasting for a few minutes and sometimes for a few days, often very painful. My arms and legs also started falling asleep almost instantly if they were at all restricted in any position.
I helped a family member with a move in July, and spent full days carrying heavy items up and down stairs in the heat. At the end of the day, I would feel intensely awful in an indescribable, non-specific way. I would often just get home and lay down on the floor inside the door, not able to make it to the couch or even explain to my husband what I was feeling. In retrospect, I would describe it as my body just being completely spent, running on empty. I had never responded to physical stress like that before.
In August, I could no longer ignore what was happening. Symptoms showed up left and right, a new one every few days. I started tracking my symptoms, taking extensive notes, and researching like crazy. I did not do the obvious thing and go see a doctor, as I’ve had terrible experiences with the medical system in the past, and I hoped I could figure it out on my own.
It was clear after some initial research that the most likely explanation for all these random, seemingly unrelated symptoms was a deficiency. My first theory was magnesium deficiency, so I started taking that, as well as a multivitamin and vitamin D. To my delight, I felt much better immediately and thought I’d solved it. But I hadn’t. After a few days of complete symptom remission, it all started up again, and was even worse. (In retrospect, I believe the small amount of B12 in the multivitamin caused an initial “honeymoon period” relief of symptoms.)
That month I developed nausea episodes that came and went at random. Then I started having tingling episodes in my lips, hands, feet, the left side of my face, and my left arm. My tongue randomly started to hurt, my fingers were often very swollen, and I became depressed. The onset of lightheaded spells really scared me, as I would briefly feel like I was going to fall over or pass out. My appetite was significantly reduced, and I started to feel an aversion to food at times. I became very anxious. I had an occasional odd, heavy sensation in my arms and hands, like they were made of lead. I had random sharp abdominal pain and frequent headaches.
Fevered research eventually introduced me to the idea of a B12 deficiency, but I wasn’t sure that was it. I had a lot of the symptoms, but not all, and some of my symptoms weren’t even mentioned online. But it seemed like the best fit, so I quickly started on an oral supplement of a fairly low dose of cyanocobalamin. To my despair, I did not feel any better. (This time, no honeymoon relief of symptoms.) I figured I must be wrong, and did a ton more research, but couldn’t find an alternate explanation.
I eventually found this subreddit, and read the guide and everyone’s experiences here. That led me to understand two things: I likely did have B12 deficiency, and it was really dumb to start supplementing before I had done a blood test. I can’t tell you how much I regret not testing my B12 levels before supplementing, to give me the confidence that I really did have the right diagnosis through all the ups and downs. By the time I realized this wasn’t a deficiency that was easily fixed, it was too late to get an accurate test.
After reading the guide here, I switched to a sublingual methylcobalamin supplement, 3,000 mcg per day (this one). I added in the recommended cofactors, and my daily supplement routine was B12, potassium bicorbonate, b6, folinic acid, the bioactive multivitamin recommended in the guide, iron, magnesium glycinate, and molybdenum. Once I started all of these, I again had complete symptom remission for several days, but again, it did not last.
In September after a few weeks of supplementing with B12, I began to notice that I was having episodes of weak vision. It often felt like I just needed to blink a few times to clear my vision (which wouldn’t help), or like focusing my vision took effort and concentration. During these episodes my vision seemed blurred, weak, and out of focus, but the rest of the time, my vision was normal. It was the scariest symptom I experienced, and really shook my confidence that I was on the right path as I was still developing new symptoms. That month I also developed numbness in my toes, and the occasional episode of unexplained tightness in my throat.
Eventually I did begin to see improvement. The first thing to go was the tingling, which resolved three weeks after starting supplementation. After a month, the nerve pain and dizziness reduced significantly and the nausea was essentially gone. After 6 weeks of supplementing, my libido suddenly reappeared.
The biggest thorn in my side now was my first symptom, the fatigue, which simply would not improve. Even as the other symptoms got better, the fatigue stubbornly clung on. I still felt debilitated and still had doubts I was treating the right problem in the first place. Any time I got sick with a virus like a cold, the fatigue would be so bad I would be barely functional.
Over time I became convinced I needed to switch to B12 injections to speed up the healing process. I do think the sublingual supplements would have gotten me there eventually, but after almost a year of feeling awful, I was ready to get better and put this experience behind me.
I finally saw a doctor, hoping to get injections prescribed. To my surprise the provider took me seriously and agreed with my diagnosis. She ordered blood tests and offered me a B12 shot right there in the office. I asked if I should get the blood test done first, but she said there was no point in waiting since my numbers would already be elevated from the previous supplementation. She gave me an injection of 2.5 mg of methylcobalamin.
For the first few hours I felt fine, but I did feel unusually sleepy, and as I was going to bed that night I noticed that my feet felt very itchy. The next day I felt like I was getting sick, as well as exhausted and extremely depressed. Two days after the shot, the fatigue and depression were worse, and my entire body felt intensely itchy and prickly. It was so uncomfortable. I wanted to crawl out of my skin. I had intense depression, itching, tingling, nerve pain, heaviness, and prickling throughout my body for the next 5 days. This subreddit had warned me about wakeup symptoms, but I was not prepared for how uncomfortable it really was. But after the first few days of wakeup, I had a few days of feeling the best I had in months, with minimal symptoms, although that did not last.
My blood test came back showing my B12 levels were too high to measure, over 2,000 (not sure what units). My blood was taken half an hour after the injection, so that data seemed meaningless. The doctor said since my levels were so high, she would only recommend injections once a month. I knew from my research that that was going to be pointless, so I reluctantly ordered my own B12 from Oxford BioSciences. (Pro tip, if you email them and ask for it, they will include the saline you need for hydrating the powder for free!) After lots of research, I went with these needles and syringes.
I was so nervous to start injecting at home, really worried about infection. I learned proper sterile technique on Youtube, and on October 30, started with 1 mg injections of methylcobalamin every other day. The injections were not as painful as I expected, although sometimes with no explanation an injection would hurt quite a bit. Overall, it was not bad.
I had wakeup symptoms again, but not nearly as severe as I’d had with the first shot. Fatigue, weak vision, itching, tingling, and prickling were present but too bad. Surprisingly, it was significant depression that was the worst wakeup symptom this time around. 10 days later, I finally had a symptom-free day, telling me good things were happening despite the ups and downs.
My symptoms came and went, ever so slowly tapering off, over the next 6 weeks or so. I stopped tracking my symptoms in early December as I felt I was largely back to normal. I finished the bottle of b12 injections on December 29, and restarted sublingual supplementation. I wanted to test if I was now healed enough to do without the injections. Happily, I did not have any symptoms reappear after stopping the injections. I am now taking only the sublingual b12 and the multivitamin, which I plan to continue indefinitely. The final symptoms to resolve were the fatigue and the nerve pain in my left arm and hand, which held on into early 2024. At this point, over a year after my first symptoms, I consider myself fully healed.
This was an awful experience that I would not wish on anyone. B12 deficiency not only affects your entire body, but it also causes significant damage to your mental health, at a time when you need all the optimism and resilience you can muster. The slow onset of symptoms was confusing and scary, and the long recovery time was brutal, especially as symptoms would come and go without rhyme or reason, and a few good days would often be followed by a few days of feeling much worse. I am so grateful that this experience is now behind me.
If you are suffering from a b12 deficiency, or think you might be, my advice to you is:
1) Get tested before you start supplementing. Read the guide for testing options and how to get the most accurate result. You will not regret testing, and you will need the reassurance that you are treating the correct problem as you go through this long and confusing healing journey.
2) The injections are worth it. It is so intimidating, but you will heal so much faster.
3) Healing is a slow, non-linear process. Once you start supplements or injections, your symptoms simply will not steadily get better every day until they are gone. It will be months of slow, up-and-down progress. Don’t despair. You will get better.
4) There is hope for total healing of symptoms, even stubborn ones that don’t respond immediately or hang on after other symptoms have resolved.
I am happy to answer any questions and be a resource for others.
Here is a list of all of my symptoms in order of onset for easy reference, as well as approximately how long they took to resolve from the time I began supplementation.
Fatigue (4 months) Weakened immune system (2 weeks) Low libido (1.5 months) Dizziness (much better after 1 month, gone after 3 months) Nerve pain in left arm and hand (better after 1 month, gone after 5 months) Arms and legs falling asleep quickly (1.5 months) Nausea (much better after 1 month, gone after 3 months) Tingling in lips, hands, feet, left side of face, left arm (3 weeks) Tongue pain (2 months) Swollen fingers (1 month) Depression (3 months) Lightheadedness (1 month) Low appetite (2 weeks) Food aversions (2 weeks) Anxiety (1 month) Sensation of heaviness in arms and hands (2.5 months) Abdominal pain (2 weeks) Headaches (2 weeks) Weak vision (3 months) Numbness in toes (2 weeks) Throat tightness (2 weeks)
