2024.05.15 14:57 RodMunch85 Diablo 2 review

It is finally time to review what is in my opinion the greatest game of all time. I am going to attempt to explain the addiction, the dedication, the variety and paradoxically the repetition of this hack n slash rpg masterpiece.
First off let me take you back to when I was first introduced to the game. Way back in 2001. I was a 16 year old, obese sweaty lad.
My friend Hugh who lived down the road from me would frequently have multiple people round his house, where we could relax and party. One day sitting round there I saw Hugh playing this little beauty on his desktop. When I asked what it was, he raved about it. He called the addiction 'catching the Diablo bug.'
He was running a Barbarian and had managed to get his level to the mid 90s. Hugh never had the internet back then. So looking back, I have always been impressed with how far he got on his own, especially considering he happened to choose the barbarian. Which is one of the more slower characters to get going. The amount of time he put in must of been immense.
Eventually he got off the damn pc and I got to experience the game for myself. I chose the Necromancer. I was hooked instantly. What really got me was the character experience progression. I was so excited collecting enough experience to gain each level. Then choosing what new skill I wanted to add to my repetoire. At that time I had no idea about character builds and stupidly got every skill available.
Another thing that really hooked me was the hunt for loot. Everytime a boss group fell I would dilegently search through the loot hoping for an improved piece of equipment. Maybe a new helmet, or wand? My life had changed I knew I had to have this game for myself. I knew there was only so much that Hugh would put up with me visiting, when I was there obviously just to play the game rather than visit him.
But there was a problem. I did not own a pc. I had a Playstation 1 and my mum would not be able to afford the £600 to £700 needed to buy me one. I was devestated and tried to find a replacement for Diablo addiction. So like an ex junkie trying to satiate his need for heroin with methadone, I scoured my local HMV store for something similar, some sort of rpg. I settled on the 9th installment of a series I had never heard of. I purchased Final Fantasy IX. Now this actually turned out to be another of my favourite games ever. But at the time I was dissapointed that it did not scratch my Diablo itch.
After probably a year of nagging my mum she spoke to my Grandad and he agreed to buy me my own pc and Diablo II LOD. He also bought me Star Wars Galactic Battleground, that I had witnessed round another friends house. I finally got to play Diablo as much as I wanted. And boy did I play it. Non stop. For hours. For days. For weeks. For months. For years. Here in 2021 I still play this game.
Now let me explain one of the game's greatest features. The variety of character builds. There are seven main character types that you can choose from. Necromancer, Barabarian, Sorceress, Amazon, Paladin and with the Lord of Destruction expansion the Druid and the Assassin. But in each of these characters there are multiple different character builds you can make. For instance with the Necromancer you could choose to be a Summoner, focusing mostly on the summon tree, pumping all your skill points into raising the dead and calling golems to do your dirty work for you. But if you wanted a more hands on approach you could focus on the bone skills. Pumping your skills into bone spears and bone walls. Trapping your enemies then firing your projectile bones at them. Don't fancy bone? Why not go poison? Pump your points in poison dagger, poison explosion and nova. I used to have loads of fun running into multiplayer games online and hostiling lower level player characters and pumping them full of poison nova and watching them die. This is just four obvious examples of build for the necromancer. There are many more. With sub builds and hybrids.
I would say the Paladin is the most versatile character with over 20 different possible builds. Before I die I want to make every single one for every character. The way it changes your play style really gives the game almost endless possibilities.
But it is strange that I am praising variety as one of it's greatest features, when it is also one of it's greatest faults. The repetition. Not in characters, but in quests and acts. The game is split up into five acts, in varying environments, including wide open green plains, a vast baron desert, a luscious and deep jungle, the depths of hell itself and with the LOD expansion, a snowy mountainscape. Inside each of these acts there are six quests for you to complete, except act 4 which only has three. After completing all the acts and beating the final boss you have the option to play on a higher difficulty. Normal, Nightmare and Hell. In this greater difficulty you can go back through the game against harder enemies, continuing to level your character. Also the best items are not available in Normal and Nightmare. It is impossible for them to drop anywhere but the Hell difficulty.
This is not a bad system but it would been better to have 15 different acts of progressive difficulty instead of running the same 5 over and over. The damn repetition. You run certain bosses repeatedly hoping they drop that item you're waiting for. You repeatedly run bosses to gain experience. I must of killed the act three boss Mephisto over 200,000 times as he is one of the best places to hunt for magic items. This didn't bother me. It was exciting every time one of my targets dropped, hoping that this would be the one where something awesome would spawn. Some of the most sort after items are runes. Little stone pieces that can be put in socketed items in a certain order to create a rune word. Which are some of the best items in the game.
I remember grinding for months, trading all my finds for runes, slowly building them up until I could afford my target. The Enigma. A rune word armour that gives any character the sorceress exclusive skill of teleport. That was a game changer. I will never forget the day I got my first one. Something that seemed so impossible to obtain as the runes needed to create it have something like a one in a million chance of dropping. But all my hard work paid off and I got to tele my paladin around. Priceless gaming moment for me. The graphics look dark and gritty, absolutely perfect for the game's content.
I love the way the game looks and am not a fan of the more cartoony looking Diablo III. the enemies look awesome especially Diablo himself. The music matches the graphics with its haunting tones. Each area has a theme, some being very intense. Act 1 has a kind of minimalist feel to it with its quiet tinkling on acoustic guitar. Act 2 has a more Arabic feel to it and is my personal favourite. Each act's music is well suited to the landscape and it is very well done.
The game does have a storyline but it really isn't about that. With the amount of times you're going to be playing through the same acts and quests you'll be skipping all text boxes.
So I have tried to explain what makes this game the greatest of all time in my opinion but words can not really convey how I feel about it. It's like an old friend I still visit. I love you Diablo!

heres what i have so far, lmk how i can make it better!
The invention of the radio and television gave people a way to hear and see political messages being delivered, eliminating bias. Also, the creation of social media gave people an outlet to share what they wanted and connect with others across the globe. It led to Arab Spring, a series of anti-government posts. In addition, the advancement in the science fields helped more antibiotics and vaccines to be made, therefore helping people live longer lives.

2024.05.14 12:06 ditord Blackout 2024: Why Social Media Users Are Blocking Celebrities Like Taylor Swift and Beyoncé

There's a new movement on social media called "Blackout 2024" sparked by celebrities' views (or lack thereof) on Palestine.
Context:
Last week's Met Gala highlighted the disparity between celebrity opulence and global suffering. Influencer Haley Baylee (real name Haley Kalil) posed in an extravagant floral gown, saying, "Let them eat cake" along with a TikTok sound. This phrase, attributed to Marie Antoinette, symbolizes an out-of-touch attitude toward the suffering of the masses. Although historians doubt she actually said it, the phrase remains a powerful symbol of severe wealth inequality.
Photos of the Met Gala flooded social media alongside images of Israel's attack on Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. The stark contrast between celebrities displaying wealth and Palestinians mourning their dead shocked the world. People compared it to The Hunger Games, where the wealthy Capitol residents dressed opulently while children died in the games. The book series' author, Suzanne Collins, drew inspiration from flipping between Iraq War coverage and reality TV shows.
The Blackout 2024 Movement:
TikTok user @ladyfromtheoutside started the Blackout 2024 movement, frustrated with celebrities' silence on Palestine. "It’s time to block all the celebrities, influencers, and wealthy socialites who are not using their resources to help those in dire need," she said in a video with 2.5 million views. "We gave them their platforms. It’s time to take it back, take our views away, our likes, our comments, our money."
People have differing views on who deserves to be blocked. For example, some believe Billie Eilish should be boycotted for not posting about Palestine, while others argue her Ceasefire pin at the Oscars showed her stance.
Celebrities Respond:
Some celebrities have spoken out. Haley Baylee posted a nearly 9-minute apology video, explaining she wasn't an official Met Gala guest but a host interviewing celebs. She claimed ignorance on the Palestine issue, which drew backlash. Critics argued that in the seven months since the attacks began, there has been ample time to educate oneself.
Three days ago, Lizzo posted a TikTok sharing GoFundMe pages and organizations helping people in Palestine, Sudan, and Congo, stating she had donated to all three. Commenters pointed out the timing and questioned why a millionaire asked regular people to donate.
Impact:
The campaign seems to be making an impact. Haley Baylee's follower count dropped from 10 million to 9.9 million. Social media users claim Kim Kardashian also lost followers after her ambiguous "Free everybody" comment to a "Free Palestine" protestor.
Operation Blockout:
Online critics argue that events like the annual Met Gala, where elite figures from the fashion world showcase their extravagant styles, highlight the disconnect between such opulence and pressing social issues. As attendees dazzled in dramatic attire, protests in support of Palestine were underway just blocks away in New York City. This juxtaposition sparked the inception of "Operation Blockout."
TikTok users such as @blockout2024, who is credited with founding the celebrity blocking campaign, have called out several of the world's biggest names. Users, from Kim Kardashian to Taylor Swift to Justin Bieber, did not hold back. In one video, @blockout2024 said followers have "full control of celebrities' money and lives." "When we hate on them, they make money. When we praise them, they make money. But when we block their social media accounts and completely forget their names, they lose it all," he said. "The amount of attention we give them and the amount of engagement we give them is their direct currency. Take it from them."
Reducing celebrities' followers aims to pressure them to highlight issues in Palestine and Sudan. Jenny, a TikTok user from Vietnam, told The New Arab that "the genocide going on in Palestine" prompted her to join the campaign. "The algorithm of TikTok allows anyone, regardless of age, sex, or societal status, to go viral if their content aligns with the interests of other users. That's why the portrayal of any social issue on TikTok is non-biased and very authentic since it's the voice of mundane people like you and me," she said.
"I've never been able to comprehend the power of social media until I saw a whole movement to support Palestine, Congo, and Sudan start from TikTok. Especially among Gen-Zs, who are perceived to be the generation that's much more sensitive to social matters."
The 22-year-old TikToker reiterated that with power comes responsibility, adding that celebrities' silence has contributed to the miseducation of humanitarian crises worldwide. "I personally feel so much rage at why people can put so much effort into participating in a lavish event, which costs thousands of dollars while being completely ignorant of the fact that people are being bombed to pieces on the other side of the world," she told The New Arab. "The Met Gala 2024 depicted the imbalance of power and resource distribution in our society."

2024.05.14 06:53 M4ND1BLE Help with translating and pronouncing arabic

Hi friends, I'm building a homebrew world where I can run my dungeons and dragons campaigns (and likely use for future book/comic series as well). Maybe some day I'll get around to creating a whole new language, but today is not that day.
I need some help from any Arabic speaking redditors who can help me with translating the name of a location within my world known as the waste of whispers. TLDR it's a sentient sand desert that tests is travelers in a variety of ways, and claims the lives of those who fail. Between the dehydration, hypothermia, and the ceaseless sound of sandy winds, many of gone insane when attempting to cross the wasteland. Those who live to tell their story talk about hearing whispers in their ear, not knowing if it was a trick of the mind or something much more sinister.
Anyways with that tidbit out of the way, here's my confusion. My first mistake is probably using Google translate, but unfortunately DeepL doesn't have text to speech yet (and if it does it isn't in the free version).
As a phrase alone, the waste of whispers translates into "mukhalafat alhamasat," however, the way I'm using wastes, singularly it is "قفر" and whispers is hamasat or همسات. Can someone explain to me the proper phonics of arabic? I have a player who albeit isn't practicing (and probably wouldn't care all together), comes from a Muslim background and I personally want to be respectful of that. Thank you in advanced!

You are not recommended to try spells to bring a lover back if you are going through the following: You know that your relationship with your ex is toxic and the best painful option to take in this is to move on. It is not a good choice to be in a relationship that is un-natural, one that is built on witchcraft. The love spark as to be their at all times.
Even the most powerful love spell may not fulfill the things that are required for a real relationship to be in place. Love should be natural and if your partner looses interest in you, its better that you let them follow the heart. If one door closes, expect another open infront of you.
Therefore witchcraft or love spells should not be the ultimate solution to mending a broken heart in a relationship, one has to make love exist naturally by doing the right things to your partner, the things that will recapture the inner feelings of love and affection as you did in the start of the relationship.
Only if and when all has been tried and failed to work that one should order for my love spells that actually work, and indeed this will be the last nail in the coffin to fix your troubled relationship permanently.

2024.05.12 17:22 Paige_Morandi Is it okay for me to play a character who’s Arab?

I auditioned and got a callback for a mini series that’ll be on a streaming platform, saw a similar case on this sub so I thought of sharing it. So I’m Filipino-Chinese and Indian-Italian, was told I could easily pass for an Arab girl due to my skin tone and nose, they said they’ll just darken my eyebrows because I already had a thick shape but it’s not dark enough.
So yeah, character is the rich typa girl who studies in an exclusive private school for the rich. She’s not main character or main antagonist, she’s a sidekick to the mean girl however she has lines and will almost always be present when the mean girl is there, a few solo scenes as well. Point is she’s a “daddy’s money” girl who’s spoiled and full of herself. Character’s ethnicity is never mentioned but she’s Arabic coded somehow.

2024.05.11 22:00 RLP666 So I believe that the series FROM is called Origins in the various Foreign TV Streaming Markets. Now I want to add my latest theory.

So Taran the person who does a really good job of analyzing and breaking the clues from FROM with a lot of documentation to back up his theory.
So he believes that John Cabot and some witches and demons are the cause and the reason why everyone is stuck there while some kind of Tarot Card game is being played.
My issue with that is John Cabot did explore in what is now known as NORTH AMERICA but really more along Canada and New Foundland. John Cabot didn't explore what is now called America/USA that we know now.
So for a series that supposedly takes place in the Midwest and there is a tattered American Flag waving in town, all the people who are trapped there are Americans and have come from all parts of America denoted the the map in Boyd's office and all the vehicles have American license plates. So it's safe to say that the series has established that possibility to be true.
I'm not seeing how John Cabot fits in with a very heavily centralized series in the Midwest of the USA. Cabot really isn't too much of a household name in the U.S. But I could be wrong and Taran does make a very appealing case to his theory being correct in some way if not all the way spot on.
But here's the kicker. The series is called Origins in markets outside of the United States. He Equated that the Cabot storyline is the "Origins" they mean in what is going with the Witches, Demons, Tarot Carda etc. I believe he said Cabot and companion Richard Amerike (who some believe America is actually named after him and not Amerigo Vespucci who was more commonly credited with being the "Origin" of America's naming). So take the nane America and use it how every you want to.
But this is now where my "Theory" comes into play. FROM is very heavily full of Biblical and Religious undertones. And I have talked about all the ones I could identify in depth before.
So I believe the overseas series name isn't about exploration but the "Origins" alluded to is the Book of Genesis. You know the one we all learned in Sunday School that says, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." The word "Origins" is another synonym for "Genesis'.
So now I'm convinced that the "Fallen Tree" that once you come across it and you're now stuck in FROMVILLE is actually the Apple Tree from the story about the "Origins" of "Adam and Eve" in the book of Genesis.
One big clue for me is the painting in Ellis and Fatima's room. It kind of mirrors the "Adam and Eve" story with the tire tracks wrapping around the painting looking like a "Snake's tail and even some kind of "Serpent " looking monster. We all know how Eve's defying the 1 rule God had about not eating from the Tree of Life was FORBIDDEN and was the start of the "Fall of man".
Father Khatri told Boyd there were "No Bibles in town" and that seemed odd. He also alluded to Book 74 as us still writing our next chapter in the Bible.
So I thought at first there's no Bibles in town because either someone/something has them trapped in town and that Demonic Force wouldn't have the Holiest Book of all time just lying around all Willy Nilly. But now I believe that there aren't any Bibles because the TOWN and People and Monsters aren't done writing their story so you wouldn't publish a book that was still being written? No, you would wait till it's complete. FROMVILLE is still actively writing it.
Also, just the names of some of the town folks are so heavy on a "Religious" Origin is too funny. A couple of examples:
Boyd was called Mr. FISH AND LOAVES by his wife Abby. I mean some people seem to think it's because Boyd usually finds away to "make things work out". He can turn an impossible situation into one that is possible. Maybe but I still think it's more directly about one of the miracles Jesus performed in his lifetime.
Abby/Abbey is Boyd's wife. The word Abby/Abbey literally means/refers to a Church or Monastery or a House of Worship.
Ellis: Ellis is Boyd's son. The name Ellis literally means:
In English Baby Names the meaning of the name Ellis is: My God is Jehovah. From a surname derived from a medievalfrom Elijah.
In Greek Baby Names the meaning of the name Ellis is: The Greek form of the Hebrew Elijah, meaning Jehovah is God.
In Hebrew Baby Names the meaning of the name Ellis is: The Lord is my God.
In American Baby Names the meaning of the name Ellis is: The Lord is my God.
Fatima means: "Fatima is a feminine name of Arabic origin, meaning "daughter of the Prophet" and "to abstain" or “to wean.” Fatima was one of the four perfect women and was the only child of Muhammed to bear children. Fatima is often considered the Muslim equivalent of Christianity's Virgin Mary."
Fatima didn't believe she could get pregnant but now she is. Is it because it's a miracle like when Mary, mother of Jesus had a Virgin Birth (the series has shown us that Fatima doesn't seem to be a "Virgin" but never less her pregnancy was an unexpected surprise. Also, Fatima means to "Wean" which is introducing a baby to food and nourishment. I think that's a lot of coincidences of having something to do a baby or child for a character that couldn't get pregnant before but is now.
These are just a few and I have a lot more in depth and detailed theories in other posts about Kristi, Mari, Jade, Donna, Father Khatri and others with some kind of Biblical/Religious connection.
But in short: The non American tv and streaming services that air the show is under the title "Origins" and not FROM.
I believe the series has a Biblical and Religious setting and vibe with the tree in the middle of the road that traps you in FROMVILLE being the actually "Tree of Life" "FROM" the Garden of Eden in the Bibles "ORIGIN" story found in the Book of GENESIS that Eve (or maybe Fatima represents Lilith who is also considered "The Mother of all Monsters" when she rejected Adam and was banished from the Garden of Eden? But that's another story and post of mine somewhere in this sub).
Anyway I could spend the rest of this rainy Saturday afternoon in Michigan posting potential theories/speculation but unfortunately I don't have the time and my other Theories Threads are easy to find.
So just my .02 cents on what I think is going on.

2024.05.11 18:29 Chemical-Book8889 Top 10 Best Foreign Cartoons video idea

I personally would love to see a WatchMojo video about the Top 10 Best Foreign Cartoons (or Top 10 Best Cartoons From Other Countries), which means some of the best animated series that were not made or co-produced in the United States and made in other countries. However, I want it to exclude all animated programs from both Canada 🇨🇦 and Japan 🇯🇵, since they would be way too obvious. So I want any and all Japanese anime like Poké*mon to *NOT be included. I also want Patrick Mealay to narrate it, and I have a list of seven foreign cartoons that I want to include.

Day 21 of posting a sketch of a bepis
The image above depicts the second cup-sade battle.
The soda cup-sades were a series of conflicts between European sodas (Pepsi, Coca-Cola, Cockta and Fanta) and Arab sodas. Spark(l)ed by the desire to control trade routes and religious fervor, these battles spanned centuries, marked by intense cashes and territorial shifts. The european sodas, with their robust marketing and economic power , often gained initial momentum, but the Arab sodas, with local knowledge and resilience, showed formidable resistance
The cup-sades left a legacy of cultural excange and enduring tensions in the sodapop world.

2024.05.10 21:40 LongNet6174 Question Regarding (Semi) Contemporary Pagans in the Islamic World

Hello everyone, I recently came across a series of three sources that seemed to indicate that during the 17th, and 19th century, the practice of pagan religions resurfaced in Arabia, specifically Saudi Arabia. To be even more specific, the sources all describe the worship of a specific pagan god "Dhul Khalasa." Now I tried to look further into this, but unfortunately there seems to be no information on this whatsoever that I can find, at least none in English. The sources are as follows.
A commentary on a much older book called "Akhbar Mecca" I'm afraid that I wasn't able to find out who the commentator was.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GJjT-nfXMAAntiG?format=jpg&name=small
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GJjT-syW4AARUXA?format=jpg&name=small
Uthman Ibn Bishr in Unwan al-majd fi Ta'rickh Najd
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GJjUGllWAAE3KBF?format=jpg&name=small
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GJjUGqxW4AE9LYu?format=jpg&name=small
Fawzwan Al Sabiq in Al Bayan wa-al-Ishar li-kashf Zaygh al-mulhid al-hajj Mukthar
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GJjUWjcWMAAIfg2?format=jpg&name=small
A commentary from Muhammed Ibn Balihad An-Najdi on Kitab Sifat Jaziratul Arab.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GJjUc0NXkAEGnFO?format=jpg&name=small
There is one account that has been translated, from Kamal Salibi, however he doesn't appear to provide a source for his claim. This is from Who Was Jesus: Conspiracy In Jerusalem
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GJjUh_dW4AA54Wt?format=jpg&name=small
So I took a VERY basic Arabic class, I really only got as far as being able to recognize the letters of the alphabet (I can't even sound the words out without diacritics), so I'm really not equipped to read or interpret any of this. As a disclaimer, I did originally learn of this from an apologist (who linked these historical accounts to a hadith prophecy about Dhul Khalasa specifically), and these images are from his twitter thread. Nonetheless I am very interested in this, I was under the impression that paganism in Arabia was rare during the 7th century. I'm wondering if aside from these accounts there is any evidence to suggest that Pagan Arabic religions were being practiced in the 17th, 19th and early 20th century and if there was conflict between them and the muslim states in the area. Furthermore are these accounts reliable? I do find it strange that I can't seem to find anything else on this subject, but it is entirely possible that the information simply isn't available in English. There is apparently also a very important early Wahabi Imam named Ash-Shawkwani (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Al-Shawkani) who reported that paganism was common among 18th century arabs but I'm unsure if this literally refers paganism or more mild practices that he deemed to be blasphemous. Any info would be appreciated.

2024.05.10 01:35 Individual-Pin-3973 Hadadiyah Sect by Brother Cn3m

When discussing misguided sects, the deviance among them often varies—it does not remain static but tends to worsen over time. While some sects have died out, their ideas often resurface through individuals and can be a mix of influences from other sects. These ideas can then slowly but surely gain a larger following. Bearing this in mind, the specific danger posed by a sect depends on the severity of their misguidance. It is different from having the foundations of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah while being influenced in other aspects by other sects, but not foundationally. Respected scholars, to whom even those influenced by the Haddaadiyyah admit, such as imam ibnul-Jawzi—who is regarded as from Ahlus-Sunnah—was influenced in some aspects by other sects. This also somewhat answers the inconsistencies of the Haddaadiyyah sect and those influenced by their deviance. When it comes to other great scholars, such as imam Abu Haneefah, imam an-Nawawi, and imam ibn Hajar, the accusations are not the same as those made against scholars like imam ibnul-Jawzi. There is neither middle ground nor consistency from their sect or from those who may sympathize with their arguments. Despite this, scholars following these great imams never declared them innovators or disbelievers. Yet, those from the Haddaadiyyah and those influenced by them suddenly declare these scholars misguided, labeling them as innovators, and among them are those who also declare them as disbelievers. They disregard, dismiss, and oppose contemporary scholars, yet consider themselves the most enlightened and the only ones with a true understanding of the teachings of the Salaf. Consequently, from their perspective and deviance, they have no respect for major scholars of the past and certainly not for contemporary scholars, to the point of considering them very ignorant and gravely mistaken. Yet, their accusations and allegations towards these contemporary scholars, as well as those of the past, are all baseless, as no scholar, not even an imam, has ever aligned with their arguments in the manner they convey their points. There is no connection between what they say and the references they make to the Salaf. Instead, they often take general statements and misapply them to specific individuals despite not adhering to the conditions of tabdee’, such as its precepts and obstacles. This also applies to takfeer. However, no scholar from Ahlus-Sunnah has ever acted as they have, such as speaking out against scholars who have influences from other sects. Shaykhul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah said: "... adopting the jurisprudential schools from their general statements without reviewing their explanations or the principles they entail leads to reprehensible doctrines [مذاهب قبيحة]." (Source)
Al-Khulayfi is indeed from the Haddaadiyyah sect, while Muhammad ibn Shams (in reality, Muhammad ibn Sulayman) sympathizes with al-Khulayfi and is now gradually worsening. Thus, it seems you greatly misunderstand what it means to be a student of knowledge; being a student does not automatically ensure correct understandings. You will see Ibn Shams has praised various scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah, yet the very same scholars whom he previously respected, he now speaks about disparagingly. He acts as though he is the one enlightened, with those scholars being gravely mistaken because they have praised the scholars whom he considers to be innovators. Shaykh Waleed as-Sa'eedan has critiqued them. (Source)
You can visit this channel to observe their deviance, misguidance, and inconsistencies, as it seems you already understand the Arabic language:
Those kinds of people, both the Haddaadiyyah and those influenced by them, indeed follow their whims and desires. They never provide details in their arguments, fail to give context, and no contemporary scholars align with them; in fact, they have no scholars among them. Their claim to follow the Salaf is similar to how the Madaakhilah allege to follow the Salaf, with both sects taking general statements from the Salaf but misapplying them to specific individuals. That’s why one of the Salaf said, “I do not know anyone among the people of desires who argues except with what is ambiguous.” (Source)
So, no, contrary to what other commenters are saying, it’s not just a claim on them but rather it’s proven that they are either callers to Haddaadiyyah because they’re one of them, or are greatly influenced by them, hence sympathizing with their arguments. That some declare takfeer against Shaykhul-Islam ibn Taymiyyah is a prelude to the misguidance of the Haddaadiyyah. In other words, this approach leads to a path of declaring scholars as innovators and some as disbelievers.
Therefore, you should not listen to them at all. Instead, stick to learning from scholars and their series of lectures that cover various sciences of knowledge:

2024.05.10 00:48 mozaaz37 how i fell into Qanon conspiracy theories and cataclysmic prophecies and how i am struggling to overcome this obsession/fear

Hi guys, i'm a brazilian 17 year old guy that was happy, sympathetic and caring towards others, I am catholic and I participate in Sunday school every Saturday, but since the start of the pandemic in march 2020 onwards, i suddenly became brainwashed and paranoic with Christian conspiracy theories, mainly Qanon, and end times prophecies but in 2022 it only got worse, it all started at school when my sociology teacher who coincidentally was an evangelical pastor started talking a little about the end of times/Ragnarok and my friend said that between 2023, 2024 the apocalypse will begin, or it doesn't happen anything in these years, very probably in 2025 and 2027, and i searched on youtube and i saw various evangelical channels claiming that we are at the end of times and 2030 the world will end bc in that year Jesus will come back to only save evangelical christians and will only save those who are on the Life Book and will throw everyone who's those name wasn't on Life Book burn alive on the lake of fire of the hell alongside the antichrist, false prophet and everyone who followed him and God will destroy the universe and we will be living in the New Jerusalem, and they say repent of sins because the devil exists and they insist on saying that sin and the devil exist even though this has not even been scientifically proven, such as not wearing short clothes like shorts, jeans, not getting tattoos or piercings, not eating meat of pork, prohibiting homosexuality, free will, dating during adolescence and many others, they say that we are experiencing the greatest apostasy in history, which means that people are moving away from faith and and God and ignoring the warnings about the doomsday bc the world is becoming more ''sinful'' and the love between the people has been cooled and we are living like in the antediluvian days when Noah warned about the cataclysm but people ignored, mocked and called him demented and paranoid and instead they were eating, drinking and partying until the flood came and destroyed the world. world and killed everyone, and they keep repeating this saying that this is real even though it has been proven that it never happened and that it is impossible for a storm this strong to cover the top of Mount Everest, they think they are right and scientists are wrong, because science is an ''abominable sin'' against God, They say that God is merciful but he is also wrathful and cruel against those who do not follow his commandments. and they also talk about Jesus' appearance as if it were true at that time even though it has not yet been proven. i've watched some videos of these pastors and missionaries of my country and never got their prophecies and predictions wrong, all of things that have said become true
They say that geopolitical tensions are increasing which will cause ww3, it is no wonder that countless billionaires around the world like Mark Zuckerberg are building bunkers and selling several of their assets, i saw a letter written in 1873 that a American Freemason named Albert Pike who in his letter predicted the first two world wars, and is now supposedly ''predicted correctly'' the third world war, which would begin with a conflict between Zionist Israelis and Arabs, and also they claim that this war between Israel and Iran -Hamas is also the prophecy of Gog and Magog being fulfilled, They also say that the world will enter an unprecedented global economic crisis worse than the great depression, which would increase prices absurdly and this would culminate in the greatest famine the world has ever had, surpassing the great famine of the Middle Age,
They also say that elites such as the World Economic Forum, the UN and the Bilderberg Group will launch a gigantic EMP weapon that will shut down all energy and appliances in the world, and that they will then enact global martial law that will taking citizens off the streets and homes via buses and putting them in concentration camps and killing mainly white and conservative Christian groups and burying them in FEMA coffins which will start the famous New World Order and mass depopulation through the great reset and agenda 2030 and will put an end to all cash and create an electronic currency where payment is made with the global fingerprint, which they also say will replace passports with this global biometric password, they also say that They will do away with clothes and food and will replace them with processed foods made from insects, GMOs and laboratory-grown meats and everyone will be forced to wear the same clothes and have their names changed they also say that they will install government cameras inside the houses to know if any intruder is entering the empty houses
and all of this will begin the antichrist's rise to power, he will be a powerful leader who will unite all sovereign governments into one government and people will worship him and will implant the mark of the beast, where no one will buy and sell without it and will kill everyone who does not accept the mark, which means that everyone in the cities will die, only those who go to the fields or mountains will survive, it is no wonder that they are asking to stock up on water, non-perishable food, batteries , flashlights, medicines especially ivermectin (so much so that I've seen reports of people curing themselves of COVID using this medicine and chloroquine) and radios to survive between 2025 and 2027, because according to them, there will be a pandemic 30 times more lethal than the previous one that will kill almost 400 million people in just two years and that will be the period where seal the seven-year peace agreement between Christianity, Judaism and Islam and will sacrifice a red heifer in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, where it will be destroyed in sequence to begin the construction of the third temple where the throne of the antichrist will be during the final three and a half years
They also insists that global warming is a lie bc all of these disasters that are happening such as frequent strong earthquakes which happened in turkey, morocco, japan and taiwan recently, floods that left the southern of my country almost destroyed, tornadoes and hurricanes becoming stronger and killing more people and wildfires becoming more frequently is caused by these globalists, for example, the recent wildfires that happened in hawaii, canada and chile was caused by massive lasers coming from satellites and these floods and earthquakes caused by HAARP, and the fact-checking and social media such as reuters and afp is lying bc they are owned by rothschild and george soros for example
And i'm worried to have a cancer or a fatal heart attack when i become 20 years old that they discovered that in the last years have an increase on cases of cancer and fatal heart attack on young people, and they claim that is bc of the vaccines bc they contain aborted fetuses and microchips and graphene
And they also talk about the woke agenda, where defenders of this theory claim that globalists use films, video games and series to misrepresent characters from these entertainment industries to promote progressive agendas such as LGBT, black lives matter, abortion and feminism, for example, they made Ariel from The Little Mermaid black in live-action instead in white, as a way of indoctrinating masses and grooming children to be subjected to being perverse, it's no wonder that Disney is in one of the biggest crises in its history by excessively promoting identity issues in every film they release. And it's also no wonder that the number of abortions in the world increased over the last years
What I am most afraid of is the claim that globalists have knowledge of future events that makes the masses accept the event when a certain thing happens, this is called predictive programming, for example, in many disaster and science fiction films, there is a subliminal message in numbers called ''923'', supporters of this number mean that something very bad will happen on September 23rd, but obviously nothing happens, in White Noise for example, there was a train accident in the state of Ohio and in 2023 a train derailment with toxic products occurred in the same state as the film, Black Mirror ''predicted'' several technological innovations, The Simpsons for example predicted the September 11 attacks and Trump's victory in the elections, The Matrix also predicted predicted several technological innovations, such as the redpill movement and the production of babies in uterine machines. As for the Leave the World Behind', they say that the film predicted the accident of the ship that collided with the bridge in baltimore, Lastly, the film The Knowing is incredibly identical to the plot of the biblical apocalypse, but these claims are already debunked by fact checks
And i became scared of these prophecies that have been ''fulfilled'' such as Ezekiel which mentions that Dead Sea became filled with fishes and signs in the sky and stars disappearing
i will mention some of them:
They discovered recently that the moon have some rust pigments and the sun are frequently producing giant black spots which in apocalypse 6:12-17 means that the sun became black and the moon becoming blood
The days are passing faster, which on matthew 24:22 mentions that unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened.
The Euphrates River is drying up which in apocalypse mentions that the sixth angel poured his bowl over the Euphrates River and its waters dried up and released four demons who destroyed half of the population
Some Rivers and seas are becoming red, which refers to Apocalypse 16:4 that the third angel poured his bowl on rivers and seas and became red as dead blood
And I started to think that some mathematical calculations they do are simply not coincidences, they took the year the Black Death ended in 1353 with the year the WHO declared a global COVID emergency in 2019, subtracting those years would give the result in 666 (2019-1353=666 to be simpler) which alludes to the number of the beast and nd other math that they also thinks its a proof that we are at the end of times uf we use the word ''CORONA'' as a code where the alphabet is corresponding to its letter in ascending order (for example a = 1, b = 2), it would give the numbers 3, 15, 18, 15, 14, 1 will also give the number of the beast is correct if we multiply these numbers.
I'm trying to follow channels that disagree that we are in the end times and treat people with love, like the method of preterism where it states that the apocalypse happened in the year 70, but they say that this is heresy because in Matthew 24:24 it says that in the last days false prophets will emerge deceiving many people and in 2 Peter 3:3 where it says that at the end of time many will mock and disagree with the imminent Return of Jesus
i'm asked my parents and my friends to repent of your sins and believe in the Word of God, But I bothered them so much that now they don't even want to hear it,
however after all that, I started to think that these evangelical channels only preach fear in people, thinking that Jesus is going to return physically and that I have been superior all the time for no reason at all. I researched these things so much that now it appears when I search for an account on Instagram or YouTube, I would like to thank anyone who could give me some tips on how to get out of this and get rid of these pests, how i do?

2024.05.09 18:06 Hand_Salt Levantine Arabic verbs: 3tazar and 3taqad

I'm currently learning Lebanese Arabic with movies and TV series and I've seen on wiktionary that both of these verbs are pronounced with a karsa in the present:
bi3tezer and bi3te2ed
But when listening to native speakers, I often hear:
ba3tezer and ba3te2ed.
Am I listening things? Or can both of these verbs be pronounced with a fat7a too?

2024.05.09 13:24 f9706kje What is Religion. Lesson 03: The Creator

Good day every one.
As requested by the moderators, for whom I am thankful, know that I am muslim.
This is the third lesson in this series. If you have questions, feel free to ask in the comments.
The Boundary
Intuitively, you can carry it. If you can not, you can sense it. If you can not, you can trace it. If you can not, you can define it. If you can not, you can imagine it. If you can not, you can scribble it, simply call it 'x'. If you can not, you hit the boundary.
Mathematically, you can count it. If you can not, you can order it. If you can not, you can pick it. If you can not, you hit the boundary.
Fundamentally, if you can not begin to point it out, you hit the boundary.
The World
By definition, the boundary and all that is in it, is the world.
The world includes the Realizable, and the not realizable. Remember that the not realizable can still be pointed out, otherwise its existence would not be implied, a proof of existence would not be.
The thing
All that is within the boundary, including the boundary, is called thing.
The word thing can be applied to all, hence it is the abstract of every thing.
The word thing can be applied to each of all, therefore each is unique. This is a fundamental law, and is the key to all knowledge. If two things are the same, it would be a contradiction, because you managed to count them.
Nothing
Nothing means no thing at all. In other words, it is not within the boundary. However, nothing is a thing, because I managed to point it out.
While I can point out the concept of nothing, I can never capture the whole. Hence, nothing is not realizable. In simpler terms, you see it. It is presence. You do not see it. It is absence. That absence that you see is a thing. Nothing includes the absence of presence and absence, and that you can not begin to see. (Note that "see" is the action of the mind, not the eye. We look to see.)
The Creator
By definition, a creator is one that brings the thing from nothing. No thing comes from nothing. However, we have thing. This is a contradiction. Therefore, creator.
If a creator can only create certain things, it is a contradiction. This is because he did not start with nothing, but started with the bounds that do not allow him to create other things, and bounds are a thing. Hence a creator can create everything; there is no partial creator.
If there are two creators, we can tell them apart, we can count them, a contradiction. This is because if they can be counted, they are not from nothing because count is a thing.
While creator can be proved to exist, it is not realizable. However, being not realizable makes it part of the world, a contradiction. The Realizable, and the not realizable are still things, and there is no partial creator.
The Will
The implied will because of the premise, and the premise, a thing, will because of the Creator, the bringer of thing from nothing. Hence, we can say that the Creator willed the premise, but can we say the premise willed the implied? The implied is a thing, and therefore it was created. If the premise willed it, it would have to be the one who created it, and that would make it a partial creator, because it did not start out with nothing, but started with implication, and implication is a thing. This is a contradiction. Furthermore, because there is no count to creator, the premise and the implied are both willed by the Creator.
The Will, the Creator, is truth as shown above, but is also truth under all contexts. Given a context with a single premise, if that premise denies the Creator, it would be a contradiction, because the premise itself is a thing, a created. Note that if the Creator is defined as the primary cause, then he would be truth under the context of fact only, which leads to contradictions.
An implication of the above is that all will is the Creator.
The word thing in the old language comes from the root SH Y A, and essentially means the willed.
(Note that my usage of the English word "World" is a misuse of the word if I remember correctly when I analyzed it and if I was not wrong then. But I am sticking to the more contemporary usage for now, which makes the usage more 'correct' but a corruption.)
UPDATE: 10-MAY-2024
Apologies everyone. The moderator, RECIPR0C1TY, finally convinced himself he can remove the lessons. Lesson four, which I posted today was removed.
If any one knows an alternative sub reddit where I can post these lessons let me know. It should be one where I am not addressing one religion, and people are welcome by the moderators, and not stopped, to make up their own minds.
The moderator has already been reported to the site admins.
And I tried to contact the other moderators. The following is the message that I sent,
Hello. I am the author of the series, What is Religion. I contacted you before hand before I attempted to post the lessons. The following is a copy of our conversation.
Hello.
I wish to post a series of lessons titled "What is religion". I am muslim, but the series do not mention the Quran, nor the Sunnah, nor the prophets. They do mention an unnamed language, but otherwise can be seen to be talking in Logic and philosophy. They are aimed at people of all backgrounds.
It has been a frustrating experience so far on reddit. I hope that you are more welcoming. I already tried to post the lessons on "religion", and "philosophy" and others but the moderators would reject them before even reading them.
If you agree, there are roughly 9 lessons. But I need a guarantee that they would be kept up should I post them. No more than one per day shall be posted. Also please note that this is a new account. The guarantee needs to extend to that as well. I would need the posts made available immediately to the public without having to contact a moderator, because otherwise, by the time a post is up, it is likely too late for it to have exposure. If not clear, new accounts seem to be automatically banned from posting without a moderator's clearance.
If you are unsure, I could send you a copy of these lessons for review before I post them.
If you disagree, it is appreciated that you also let me know.
The following was the response of one of your moderators,
I think that is perfectly fine to post here so long as it is clear that this is from a Muslim perspective, and so long as it is not video lessons. I don't want the sub spammed with videos. Everyone and their mother has a podcast. If this is written, then go for it.
I have been harassed by the moderator, RECIPR0C1TY. I already compiled evidence against them, citing the site wide reddit code of conduct pertaining to moderators that they violated, and citing the rules of theology, and sent them to the site wide administrators.
RECIPR0C1TY has removed the lesson I posted today. As usual, RECIPR0C1TY posted the first message aiming to taunt to entrap,
Do you have any false beliefs at all, or do you know perfect truth?
Later he posted,
so you arent interested in answering my question?
By the time I saw I was indeed not because their intention was clear. See the third lesson. "https://old.reddit.com/theology/comments/1cnuvjy/what_is_religion_lesson_03_the_creato"
A user PopePae, who appear to have come to aid but I do not know, posted the following,
A large part of this comes across as gibberish, to be honest. “Soul in the old language comes from the root, N F S.” could you explain which “old language” you’re even talking about? Arabic? What does this have to do with anything else you’ve said? You will have a few sentences that make some sense like 2-3 describing what “soul” or “nature” are - but then you go right back to making no sense at all.
Basically, I think your arguments could hold some weight but your writing is very unclear and makes many assumptions that are either irrelevant (and therefore make your writing even harder to follow) or are relevant and you don’t spend any time trying to explain those things further - which then doesn’t provide any insight because the reader is left to fill in the blanks.
I know you call these “lessons” but I think you need to heavily revise these and probably consult some scholars or relevant literature before posting.
Note that in lesson three I already provided guidelines if people wish me to respond. In simple terms, they need to be asking question about the lessons, not anything else.
I responded with,
You may present a valid rigorous statement or proof of contradiction if you wish.
As for the old language, it shall remain unnamed. Its significance, a test, to be understood by those who understood the lessons. However, you may ask me again when the lessons are done. And and from these lessons, my cousin, is understanding who your Creator is.
If you are here to learn, feel free to ask, and did I need to say stay on topic. And if you know it all, I am wasting your time.
(Please note that I shall be not responding further. Feel free to ask other questions at the top comment level.)
RECIPR0C1TY then responded, not PopePae,
No, that is not the way things work in this subreddit. I have now mentioned to you multiple times that this is a discussion forum. You do not get to force people to respond to you under your specific parameters. You are not interested in discussing, you are only interested in using this subreddit as your soapbox. This post will be removed, and we are requesting that you no longer post your lessons here. You are still welcome to engage with the subreddit and enter into discussions.
Forgive me for saying this, but strange to find the character of a christian, not that of Jesus peace be upon him in the gospels, but that of his enemies as they are trying to entrap him and silence him. And when that is the case, the bible has not passed your lips.
I do not think that RECIPR0C1TY is the same as the one who gave his word. I ask that your word be kept. Please bring back the forth lesson, https://old.reddit.com/theology/comments/1conif7/what_is_religion_lesson_04_the_discoverers/. If not, I ask that all remaining lessons be removed. You may quote me to the reddit admins should they ask about why the remaining lessons were removed.
It is possible that RECIPR0C1TY answers this message. In which case, we will not be hit except by what the Creator wrote for us. And the coverer knows himself, and shall be reminded.
Note that I have saved a copy of this message.
The above is so that you may bear witness. Are people not free to make up their own mind!

2024.05.09 08:04 oldhandmade Opinions on THP6

Following on from the beef which I now believe is fully cooked, Kendrick will drop The Heart Part VII.
I hope the allegations against Drake aren’t true and that the babies are safe. I hope that Drakes music now changes tone, a real win in the eyes of the culture is displaying the wrongdoings of one of its largest icons, then having that icon change ways. Drakes core fans will only listen to Drake - if Drake knows the boogeyman is ready and waiting, he’s not likely to release a creeper album again. This is Drake’s opportunity to be reborn, in one of the songs Kendrick says he’s the only one who can save him.
Consider me schizopilled, I agree, but this seems entirely planned, calculated, and a perfect narrative to keep in the series, it adds a villain to the story and gives even them the opportunity to grow.

2024.05.09 07:17 Individual-Pin-3973 Hadadiyah Sect from Brother Cn3m

Therefore, you should not listen to them at all. Instead, stick to learning from scholars and their series of lectures that cover various sciences of knowledge:
