Good gravy, these visuals. This is the most visual flair they've ever had in a battle up until this point. More on the particulars later. Unfortunately the music is comparatively pretty weak and unmemorable, with the notable exception of the track that plays during Austin Powers' bits.
So, Daniel Craig Bond's first verse. "[insert Bond villains here] were not as crooked and rotten as your teeth are." that's a decent burn, but man, I always feel bad for Austin Powers when Bond says this. Powers looks genuinely hurt, quit bullying Powers, Craig Bond! "I'll go balls to the Walther on this wack twat in an ascot; Blast shots atcha like gas from the back slot of a fat Scot!" Intellectually I acknowledge that there is some somewhat clever wordplay going on here, but I can't say I particularly care for these lines. The "I'm licensed to kill; you couldn't get a learner's permit!" is an alright diss I guess. The lines comparing their filmography and tying in You Only Live Twice into the diss... I dunno, something feels so rote and lifeless about this burn. It's competent, but it's not doing much for me. The best part of this verse is easily the "B on D/beyond me" diss, fun wordsmithing there. The closer is competent, reference to Golden Gun, sure, that's fine, but I ain't writing home about it. I'll go into more detail about this towards the end, but I'm not a fan of this verse, I think Craig Bond as a rapper is a fairly bland character and that the background visuals are having to compensate hard for his lifelessness.
Austin Powers opens his verse by acknowledging that he has been catfished by Craig Bond, which I think is a ton of fun. The visual of Austin Powers splitting into rainbow versions of himself as his track with the horns starts blaring is just fantastic. "Basil Exposition told me this would be boring; but Jesus, man, even my mojo's snoring!" This isn't a particularly clever line or a powerful diss, mostly seems like an excuse to drop a couple references, but I'm in full agreement with Austin Powers here. Craig Bond's performance was boring. Austin Powers proceeds to mock Craig Bond for his hairless body, contrasting it with his own glorious chest bush. I love how much confidence Austin has in his sexiness despite not being the least bit conventionally attractive. I also love this set with Austin, his buddy, and these women all rocking out. The computer-generated visuals of Craig Bond's backgrounds are impressive, sure, but actually having this wacky set made for the battle really elevates it to a new level in terms of presentation. And all these close-ups of Austin's eyes, mouth, and ass getting slapped... much more flair than their usual fare. Austin Powers threatens to hypnotize Craig Bond with a strip tease and I just... look, I'm not saying these are great lines, on paper Austin does not have the strongest disses, but this verse is just so FUN. The dancing and choreography with Austin's visuals are top-notch, love him slapping his ass on the spinning bed. "You're defenseless, my rhymes can't be deflected, you're like all the sex I've ever had: unprotected!" is genuinely hilarious. "People want a hero with a little personality; no one wants to sit through your gritty reality" is definitely encapsulating the vibe I feel on the question of James Bond vs. Austin Powers. Powers then goes in for a nice blow with the line about them making Thunderball twice. "I'm one of a kind, you're always getting remade" goes hard, even harder nowadays than it did back when this was made. "You can't touch me, double oh behave" is a cute reference, but it's not anything more than that, same tier of verse closer as Craig Bond's.
Then we have the misfortune of returning to Craig Bond's gritty reality. "I can't believe I'm wasting my time with this clown, I should... be on an island with a fucking model by now" is really weak. It feels ad-libbed. You're not too cool for this rap battle Craig Bond, you're actually not nearly cool enough. Craig throws in a reference to the penis pumping joke from Austin Powers, we get a little failed interjection from Powers, and that's fun. Craig Bond does get a strong blow in with "but I'm the original model that your frilly ass mimics"; a powerful argument that you can't take away from Craig Bond.
Until Sean Bond comes in and takes that away from Craig Bond with a cheeky "I wouldn't exactly call you original". Good stuff. The BDSM joke is whatever. "Your performance doesn't stir me and I'm certainly not shaken" is an amusing reference to his famous quote, maybe a little obvious and corny, but what really helps sell it is the way it segueways into "if I wanted shitty acting in my action film, I'd go and watch Taken". Fun! "I don't need a Q to break your balls" is some good wordplay. I remember watching this with my family years ago, and my father groaned at Bond's closing Gold Bond joke and said "That's terrible." and... yeah, I kind of have to agree. It's a good jab and the wordplay isn't without its wit, but there's something so goddamned cheesy about it. Can't help but roll my eyes when he smugly looks at the camera and says 'Gold Bond'. It's the phrasing and line delivery, I think. This joke might have landed better if they refrained from trying to tie it into that famous quote.
Austin Powers makes a valiant effort to get back in the battle, but gets bitch slapped for his troubles.
There's something so... for lack of a better term... beta about the way Craig Bond comes in and touches Sean Bond's arm to get his attention. "The world has had quite enough rug-wearing misogynists" is accurate, albeit not the most clever.
Austin Powers shows Craig Bond up by carrying that line of argumentation further with an amusing bit about Sean Bond being a rapist. I love how uncomfortable Austin Powers seems.
"If they made a mini-me they'd have to cast Peter Dinklage"... that's so lame, guys. Come on.
"Or maybe they should cast a Bond who's actually English" winds up seeming like way stronger of a burn than it is for the fact that Sean Bond takes so much offense to it he feels the need to slap Craig Bond hard for it. Austin's awed reaction in the background is quite funny.
"Why, Pussy, aren't you the cunning linguist?" Har har har.
I like the way Craig Bond takes Sean Bond's wordplay and uses it to mount a counteroffensive, he delivers a couple real solid lines here.
Sean Bond's closer is pretty unremarkable. I guess I could charitably consider it to be of the same caliber as the closers for Craig Bond's and Powers' first verse closers, a cute little reference but nothing more. Austin Powers continues to be the best part of the battle as he rises up into the frame, enamored with his opponents.
Alright, so... I think Craig Bond gives one of the dullest and most unmemorable performances in ERB history. For one thing, his face is just not very expressive here; it's like he constantly has one facial expression. Even when his face is contorting a bit to try and express anger he still looks the same. I don't know to what extent that's just the actor's physical appearance, or if it's a deliberate choice as part of the Craig Bond persona, or what, but watching him perform feels like watching a flat line. It doesn't help that he just looks like some guy. Austin Powers and Sean Bond have very distinct and flashy appearances, but with Craig Bond it looks like they just brought in some random guy off the street and gave him a suit. Maybe that's accurate to Daniel Craig's Bond, but it's a problem for this rap battle regardless. This guy is so nondescript he's regularly getting upstaged by his backgrounds. Another issue I have with this battle is that it clearly does not respect the existence of Austin Powers as a rapper. I could be misremembering, but I believe I've heard that the creators said they didn't like the idea of a parody rapping against the character they're based on, and that this one ultimately got made because they could turn it into a Bond v. Bond battle. Personally I think the idea of having a parody go up against the original is vastly more interesting of a matchup and that Bond v. Bond is the thing that isn't really worth doing. I'd rather this have just been a battle between Austin Powers on one side with two verses and one or both of the Bonds on the other. I also want to say that this is one of the best and most un-NicePeter performances Peter has ever given; I had to go on the wiki and double-check to make sure Peter actually played him. I think Peter has an issue with a lot of his characters sounding same-y, but this sounds nothing like him. It doesn't look like him either; it's not just that the costuming is great, the dancing and mannerisms are real different from Peter's usual stuff. Just look at that pose he strikes on the right at 1:13. So good. One of Peter's best characters.
Anyhoo... I'd put this battle in B Tier, below Ghostbusters vs. Mythbusters but above Robocop vs. Terminator. The Craig and Sean Bonds have their moments, but their parts greatly pale in comparison to Austin Powers... but even then, Austin Powers' verse isn't that great, it's more supremely entertaining than expertly written. It shapes out to being a solid battle that still leaves a lot to be desired.
I don't care what anyone thinks, I'm saying Austin Powers>Sean Bond>Craig Bond. Austin Powers is the entire reason I revisit this battle.

- Drake taking Ozempic at some point (as from the MTG cover),

- Twitter bots, at this point its hard to believe this is not true. I just don't see how the same thing happens every time Drake gets in a public beef with someone.
- TIs friend pissing on Drakes leg. This was previously stated as true by TI, so there is some former evidence of this.
- Ghostwriters, this has been recurring in every Drake beef since Meek, but with reference tracks being posted with every line being the same, its hard to believe its not true at this point.
- Sleeping with Wayne's girl while Wayne was in jail, Wayne has said that this was true in a past interview.
- Drake running/being involved in a sex trafficking
- Drake being a pedophile (there has been sus behaviour in the past but thats a HUGE accusation and honestly, something definitive is going to need to be put out there to prove this)

- Whitney being mixed, this one is true, but the asterisk is that she's half mexican. It also seems like the point went over Drake's head.
- Kendrick sleeping with white girls, this is true, Kendrick admitted to this in his last album.

- Drake melted down Pharrell's chains. From Family Matters they were shown not melted. I know this was pre-beef, but I do think it's important since it was brought up
- Taking ozempic.
Now to be clear, I know Drake never said that he has never taken Ozempic, but he implied Ross was using it, like it is wrong to do so. - Tupac estate C&D. While no evidence it's not true, it's kind of wild to put out a narrative like that because this was called from the moment it dropped. Tupac Estate stands to lose money if other people can just use his voice whenever they feel like it (social media or not). It also was disrespectful to him and had potential to hurt Tupacs legacy.
- Kendrick's kids being "light skin".... uh, yeah....
- Kendrick moving to NY to live a bachelor lifestyle. Whitney's last IG post includes pictures of her and the kids from Kendricks penthouse, so they at the very least co-parent from there.
- the AI Kendrick track. I know Drake never mentioned it personally, but I do think these items are still important here, as Drake has clearly been playing the social media game. There were dudes like Mal claiming it was real even after it was confirmed fake. Mal clearly has access to Drake's camp, as he heard Push Ups early (we can confirm this based off quotes from the pod before it leaked). Also, an OVO associate apparently reached out to the guy who made the track. There's various other narratives that were pushed by people tied to OVO (such as Whitney unfollowing Kendrick), but I'll leave it at that because it gets murky.
- "They have Nothing to Drop", I think deep down Drake knew this wasn't true and was likely shit talking, but I do think it adds to the above.
- Other Family Matters video items. This one is murky because it's not 1000% clear that Drakes camp pushed the narrative on these things BUT the van in the video is not the GKMC van. It is a very similar van (Mopar) but it's Dodge, while GKMC was a chrysler. Also the ring that Drake shows at the end was assumed to be Whitney's engagement ring, but it was confirmed that it was Pharrells ring.

The most famous line off Push Ups is "Metro, shut your hoe ass up & make some drums.." Kendrick drops Euphoria 3 weeks later, & people are instantly quoting it. Euphoria has better bars & disses towards Drake. Although this was the toughest round yet.

Taylor Made VS 6:16 in La
This one is obvious. Taylor Made used AI to try & troll Kdot which didn't work at all. Imo, using AI in any given situation is a bum move. You could argue it was disrespectful towards Tupac, & it nearly got Drake sued. Not to mention, Taylor Made is aging like shit. 6:16 in LA was not only a good song, but a masterpiece of a chess move that went after Drakes insecurity. The whole "OVO is working for me" is the perfect response, & at this point I think it's true. Insanely smart move by Kdot.

Family Matters VS Meet The Grahams
I think this was Drakes best installment. From the music video to the disses, nearly everything was good about it. But then Kung Fu Kenny decided to drop the most lethal diss known to man minutes later. Meet The Grahams had people speechless... gasping for air. The lyrics mixed with it's unsettling beat had people terrified. This is easily the best diss so far, & probably won't be beaten.

The Heart Part 6 VS Not Like Us
The Heart P6 was very disappointing, & I'm sure almost everyone can agree on that. I already made a rant on it, but the "diss" is pretty much Drake saying "nuh uh, I didn't do that." Also, the diss has tons of flaws that don't make any sense. On the other hand, Not Like Us was an immediate hit. It's breaking nearly every rap song record- there's an entire list on it's accolades. The song went international, you got people dancing & singing to a song that repeatedly calls Drake a pedophile. This point obviously goes to Kdot.
Kendrick 4-0, clean sweep.
Kendrick wanted the publics' opinion to turn on Drake, & point out the distortion of the black culture surrounding Drake, & that's exactly what happend. People will never look at Drake the same, & fans who are still supporting Drake are being called out. Sure, Drake won't totally be canceled, he's too big for that (just like Kanye). But he's damn near close.
None of Drakes notable claims on Kendrick have been proven. The "woman beater" allegation has no evidence behind it. The "Dave Free being the real father" allegation also doesn't have any evidence, & Akademiks said on his stream, "Kendricks' kid isn't Dave Free's, from my understanding, so Drake lied." Take that with a grain of salt, but you get my point. Drake said he tricked Kdot into thinking the stuff on the cover of "Meet The Grahams" was a set up, & fake. And they use the same data where Drakeās friend owns a part of. Luminate formerly Nielsen, reports music sales after merging with the Rolling Stone charts, now running how charts and data is counted. If Kendrick can buy bots for engagement in this beef to skew public opinion, whoās to say Drake aināt been doing for a minute? Reminds me of what Russ said on Schulzās Flagrant about how streaming farms work. Maybe Kendrick was right too when he said āIt aināt just me Iām what the culture feeling. The fact Drakeās peers aināt voting for him or coming to his defense right now says something. Now lines like āIf your pub was up for sale, Iād buy the whole thing.ā make more sense and Kendrick painting him as Mike and himself as Prince given how Michael Jackson bought half of Sonyās catalogue to spite them (and Eminemās when he dissed him) versus how Prince hated the labels and was set on owning masters, how Kendrick has pGLang. Kendrick represents every artist, executive and person who ever felt slighted by or just tired of Drakeās reign. Drake likely has a quiet deal or a cut of gamma thru his relationship and heavily back by Larry Jackson, Lucien and Todd. Some think this is why Todd made Rolling Stone write Kendrick won. Drake 'middle mannedā relationships between corporations and artists, for execs who aināt have pull with rappers but now, his peers found out Drake been eating off them and aināt even tryna share the splits. If thatās true, I can see how they could want this nigga outta here. The casuals gotta chill though. That dick ridin shit corny. Until any legal shit happens, itās wraps. People always hated Drake but never had the heart to say it until everyone else did. Thats hoe shit to me. The beef is great for hip hop. Itās similar to Pac and Big, even down to coasts but moreso Nas and Hov how itās just rap and aināt gone spill into the streets. Almost like Mase responding to Cam after he kept poking him in the head. Everyone wants to hear from the quiet nigga whether itās school, work, whatever. And Iām sure Drakeās house getting messed with is XOās retaliation work or fans looking for likes. But the more time passes, the more truths gone come out. Iām interested to see what music looks like after this. How stingy Drake get with features, who aligns with who. If he replies or if he goes ghost for a minute. Lord Knows. |

Well Iāve rewatched the anime three times now (in dub on Hdive) and I feel like Iāve finally been able to grasp a lot of concepts and understand the show a whole lot more yet understand that due to this I now know a whole lot less.
Such as in season 1 when Yui started getting grilled by Yumiko and Yukino stepped in and when Yui and Hachiman are outside she claims on how its his fault as she goes with Yukino then he questions himself and claims that it was Yukinoās fault right? Now understanding that Yui had feelings for Hachiman from the start due to him saving her dog and her going with Yukino was her way of getting into the service club and getting to spend more time with him and later on which means it indeed was Hachimans fault. Yui later saying how she claims that she likes āYukinonā a lot more then she thought implying that she has grown a relationship with Yukino despite having ulterior motives since the start.
I have also grown to appreciate Hayato a lot more especially in season 2, Seeing how he really dislikes having to hold up his ānice guyā facade and how due to this he isnāt able to cause change or fix problems due to him avoiding confrontation and calling people out and wanting to please everyone. Which is why he felt inferior to Hachiman because he seeās that due to him Yukino has changed a lot and how he managed to help him solve his problem and Ebinaās, Tobeās and Yumikos problem with his methods albeit they are really self destructive and even hayato calls him out on it since now Hachiman has people that care about him and his way of approaching things really hurts the people around him. It was nice seeing Hayato stand up for hachiman when they were with Orimoto and her friend. Hayato at the end also explaining how if you have two choices but you can only really pick one is it that much of your own decision?
Hachimanās genuine speech and wanting to understand others in order to stop being afraid and being afraid of being hurt since from the beginning as much as he mentions liking his isolation he still strives to have relationships with people such as in the first episode where a girl calls out to him yet she was talking to someone else but he still looked her way, To me this comes off as him still craving that aspect of relationships with people that are genuine but being so afraid of being hurt by people due to his past.
After this event Yukino also mentioning how she only fulfilled Hachimans first half of his request when he asked for help with Iroha and him saying how is this some sort of riddle or something? Iām surprised hachiman didnāt catch it at the moment but later it gets brought up on fulfilling his request.
Komachi was the ultimate wing woman throughout the entire show, It was also very nice seeing her scenes with Hachiman seeing that type of sibling bond really resonated with me.
The one character that I donāt really get their intentions/emotions is Haruno, Her goal from my understanding is getting Yukino to make her own path and make her own decisions without following her big sisters footsteps. She seems to cause damage and pressure the trio into ripping their love triangle apart so she can see something genuine as well due to the groups dynamics being superficial since its clear that both of them are interested in Hachiman yet they donāt fully act on it in order to preserve the groups status quo which is similar to Hayatoās group in terms of maintaning it without straining any relationships involved in the group. However her involvement in a way was perhaps speeding things up? Unsure if we would have gotten the same result if Haruno never got involved to begin with.
Understanding Yukinoās frustration with Hachimans self sacrificing method during the kyoto trip, cultural fest and his other methods of deceiving such as his involvement with Irohaās presidency. However seeing Yui know yet still allow certain things to happen such as the Irohaās presidency to maintain the service club together showing how she really wanted them to stay together and seeing how they didnāt respect Yukinoās wishes and how Meguri talks with Hachiman about how Yukino would have been president and the other two would have been with her showing that Yukinoās solution could have worked out properly and if their relationships fizzled out would they have been meaningful anyway if something could separate them that easily?
When Orimoto mentions that she gave chocolates to Hachiman it grabbed Yukino, Yui, Tamanawa and Sakiās attention. This shows that Tamanawa has feeling for her as we see later on how come Saki looks though? On the timeline near this part which was Season 2 Episode 12 the didnāt have many interactions besides the I love you interaction at the culture fest so how come she looks as well does she have slight feelings for Hachiman as well or is it just more of a surprise that someone has given him chocolates before?
Some things that I never fully understood was with the max coffee, It seemed like he chose the bitter coffee when things were not going right or he wasāt feeling good? I noticed that I saw the iconic yellow can in his hands when he was in a good mood or after a good decision. However Iām still unsure.
Also the reoccurring Saika moments, Iām assuming itās like a gag like Ebina? Iām assuming itās one of those things where itās just a consistent joke throughout the show some of them were pretty damn funny and had great timings.
Scenes like season 3 episode 4 with Hachiman and Yui, Him saying that he promised he would save Yukino and him checking behind before taking off running showing how considerate he was, It hit so damn hard seeing Yui cry and claim that āI wish my tears hadnāt stopped thenā because it could have kept Hachiman there or in season 3 episode 6 with Hachiman and Yui in the pair room āDoing stuff like this changes nothing, because the ending is already set in stone, Please turn the lie that I keep feeding myself into a realityā
Season 3 episode 7ās rap scene with Tamanawa and Hachiman was very unexpected but great!
Hearing Hiratsuka say āYouth is a lie, It is nothing but pure evilā was a throwback and reminded Hachiman of how far he has come.
Yukinoās āI love you, Hikigayaā paired up with seasons one opening was definitely something, Hit right in the feels hearing one of them finally communicate using strong and direct words.
Seeing Hachiman next to a window seat was beautiful to see.
After watching the show so many things resonated with me, The sibling bond and even the communication skills, Iāve had previous events where Iāve had to turn down girls and it feels downright awful, looking back knowing that I didnāt communicate my feelings properly and avoided answering them with a direct answer in order to avoid hurting them.
The genuine concept has definitely been in my mind before but never planted properly, Seeing how important it is has now left an impression.
There were so many meaningful and impactful moments/quotes/symbolism that I couldnāt possibly include all of them without making this post way longer sadly, It was an awesome ride that Iāve gone on thrice now and might revisit again someday and with this Iāll attach quotes I encountered that I enjoyed.

Hachimanās genuine speech and wanting to understand others in order to stop being afraid and being afraid of being hurt since from the beginning as much as he mentions liking his isolation he still strives to have relationships with people such as in the first episode where a girl calls out to him yet she was talking to someone else but he still looked her way, To me this comes off as him still craving that aspect of relationships with people that are genuine but being so afraid of being hurt by people due to his past.
After this event Yukino also mentioning how she only fulfilled Hachimans first half of his request when he asked for help with Iroha and him saying how is this some sort of riddle or something? Iām surprised hachiman didnāt catch it at the moment but later it gets brought up on fulfilling his request.
Komachi was the ultimate wing woman throughout the entire show, It was also very nice seeing her scenes with Hachiman seeing that type of sibling bond really resonated with me.
The one character that I donāt really get their intentions/emotions is Haruno, Her goal from my understanding is getting Yukino to make her own path and make her own decisions without following her big sisters footsteps. She seems to cause damage and pressure the trio into ripping their love triangle apart so she can see something genuine as well due to the groups dynamics being superficial since its clear that both of them are interested in Hachiman yet they donāt fully act on it in order to preserve the groups status quo which is similar to Hayatoās group in terms of maintaning it without straining any relationships involved in the group. However her involvement in a way was perhaps speeding things up? Unsure if we would have gotten the same result if Haruno never got involved to begin with.
Understanding Yukinoās frustration with Hachimans self sacrificing method during the kyoto trip, cultural fest and his other methods of deceiving such as his involvement with Irohaās presidency. However seeing Yui know yet still allow certain things to happen such as the Irohaās presidency to maintain the service club together showing how she really wanted them to stay together and seeing how they didnāt respect Yukinoās wishes and how Meguri talks with Hachiman about how Yukino would have been president and the other two would have been with her showing that Yukinoās solution could have worked out properly and if their relationships fizzled out would they have been meaningful anyway if something could separate them that easily?
When Orimoto mentions that she gave chocolates to Hachiman it grabbed Yukino, Yui, Tamanawa and Sakiās attention. This shows that Tamanawa has feeling for her as we see later on how come Saki looks though? On the timeline near this part which was Season 2 Episode 12 the didnāt have many interactions besides the I love you interaction at the culture fest so how come she looks as well does she have slight feelings for Hachiman as well or is it just more of a surprise that someone has given him chocolates before?
Some things that I never fully understood was with the max coffee, It seemed like he chose the bitter coffee when things were not going right or he wasāt feeling good? I noticed that I saw the iconic yellow can in his hands when he was in a good mood or after a good decision. However Iām still unsure.
Also the reoccurring Saika moments, Iām assuming itās like a gag like Ebina? Iām assuming itās one of those things where itās just a consistent joke throughout the show some of them were pretty damn funny and had great timings.
Scenes like season 3 episode 4 with Hachiman and Yui, Him saying that he promised he would save Yukino and him checking behind before taking off running showing how considerate he was, It hit so damn hard seeing Yui cry and claim that āI wish my tears hadnāt stopped thenā because it could have kept Hachiman there or in season 3 episode 6 with Hachiman and Yui in the pair room āDoing stuff like this changes nothing, because the ending is already set in stone, Please turn the lie that I keep feeding myself into a realityā
Season 3 episode 7ās rap scene with Tamanawa and Hachiman was very unexpected but great!
Hearing Hiratsuka say āYouth is a lie, It is nothing but pure evilā was a throwback and reminded Hachiman of how far he has come.
Yukinoās āI love you, Hikigayaā paired up with seasons one opening was definitely something, Hit right in the feels hearing one of them finally communicate using strong and direct words.
Seeing Hachiman next to a window seat was beautiful to see.
After watching the show so many things resonated with me, The sibling bond and even the communication skills, Iāve had previous events where Iāve had to turn down girls and it feels downright awful, looking back knowing that I didnāt communicate my feelings properly and avoided answering them with a direct answer in order to avoid hurting them.
The genuine concept has definitely been in my mind before but never planted properly, Seeing how important it is has now left an impression.
There were so many meaningful and impactful moments/quotes/symbolism that I couldnāt possibly include all of them without making this post way longer sadly, It was an awesome ride that Iāve gone on thrice now and might revisit again someday and with this Iāll attach quotes I encountered that I enjoyed.
