Last night I checked an online Walmart order and there was a bottle of Vodka on the reciept. I haven't bought alcohol for years (just not a drinker) and wondered what was up. I realized my husband had used my card at Walmart earlier in the day, and bought a bottle of vodka, which is fine, but I just felt off about it. I'd had some suspisions that maybe he was drinking but trying to hide it. A couple moths ago I had gone out to the garage and found him there drinking something and he quickly put it away. I asked what he was trying to hide as a joke and he said it was nothing, just water. His behavior has been erratic and also tremendously crabby. When I've been with him riding in a car at times he weaves all over the lanes. Of course being drunk was never my first thought until it hit me that it could actually be the case. It's not all the time, but often enough that I feel very uncomfortable about it. Quite shocked he'd but our lives and others lives at rish. I've thought I've smelled alcohol on his breath for several years. I'll ask if he had a drink and he'll say no, so I drop it. Last night when he was asleep for the night I went out to his truck and looked around. The back seat can flip up and you can store things under it. I opened it up and there was a half empty huge plastic jug of vodka, and the smaller newly purchased bottle of vodka from Walmart. My heart sunk, but in a way I was relieved. I've had suspisions. My dad died in 2020 at the beginning of covid. My dad and husband were two peas in a pod and best friends. His death has been really hard on my husband, so much so I am unable to grieve with him b/c he gets so upset and depressed. That might be a reason he's hiding it? I have zero experience with any of this. Does this mean he's an alcoholic? Is it too late to get him help? How do I bring it up to him- I have no clue on how to do this? I can just hear him gaslighting me and excusing it away. Please offer kind support, I am at a loss.

A friend and I have this pipedream to make ambient music this summer. I currently have a Casio SK-1 which is fun to mess with but not terribly useful for what I'm going for. I have some limited piano playing experience and I'd say a basic understanding of music theory. We'd be working on space ambient or something similar.
I've been looking at Yamaha's Reface series and I'm wondering which would be best for my use case? The DX or CS are the obvious options but I'm more curious what you all have to say about the two. I also might be able to borrow a Casio CZ-1 at some point but that's in the air still.

A warrior stands in the burning rumble of their village. Their face is covered by a helmet, a simple shroud of iron that seemed to be crafted by hand by an amateur, but functional nonetheless. Their body is shielded by pieces of scrap plate atop a leather gambeson, made of the rough hides of the monsters that stalk the forests of Caliban. It covers their vital organs but has seen better days. Gashes on their gambeson, dents in their scrap plate tells a story of many battles, some barely won. At their side lies a sword, covered in blood and guts of some large creature. The iron sword has been dulled by a long battle, its Calibanian iron scratched, and its handguard shattered upon the floor. Their armor, their sword and their helmet is covered in a slick, sanguine substance. It reflects gently in the dim light of the fires that burn around them.
Around the warrior lies the burning corpses of the fallen, and the rotting flesh of monsters of the forest. The warrior kneels next to one of the rotting corpses, closing their eyelids and saying goodbye for the last time. And as they finish their goodbyes, they hear something approaching, many things. As the volume of the approaching grew, the warrior stood up, gripping their sword weakly, for what they were sure was the last time. And as they turn around, ready to fight their final battle against the monsters of the forest, instead of a pack of beasts from the forests, they saw a retinue of knights, with a huge and imposing warrior at the head. This imposing warrior approached them with a silent confidence that the warrior had never seen in their short life.
El’Leonore looked around at the carnage. Another village destroyed; another village’s population slain. But unlike the other villages that had been found in ruins, this one had a survivor. A survivor that had survived the onslaught through gruesome fighting, not by cowardice or reckless bravery. This one must have thought this through. This masked warrior may yet be worthy. El’Leonore placed a hand on the warrior’s shoulder, kneeling slightly to meet where their eyes would be behind the helmet. “You have fought well, warrior. Join us.” That was all she said, all she felt she needed to say.
The warrior pondered this offer. Around them was the village they once called home, the only sanctuary they knew from the brutality of the forest and dangers of the dark. This is where they had grown up, this is where they had first learned to fight, first learned to forge armor and swords.But this was also the place that holds the graves of those they cared about, the only people that understood them. Perhaps it was time to leave this place. To make sure that other places don't burn as their home had. The warrior looked up to meet El’Leonore’s eyes. All they gave in response was a simple nod, and that’s all the Lioness needed to see to know that they would join the Order.
The warrior joined the Lioness in their return to the Order’s fortress Monastery. There the Lioness led them to a chamber at its center, simple regalia and ornamentation of the Order. The Lioness stood in the center of the chamber, her retinue falling back to the outside of the rotunda. The warrior approached the Lioness, curious as to the nature of such a ritual, if that's what this in fact was. Then, the Lioness drew her sword. The warrior, shocked, quickly drew their sword in response. They knew not what they had done, nor the purpose of this ritual. But they knew that they must fight. Their life depended on it.
The Lioness waited patiently for the warrior to take the first move. They wanted to see what the warrior was capable of, how they fought, what they truly had to offer. A test of strength, a test of skill, and a test of character.
The warrior advanced upon the Lioness, sword in neutral position, advancing upon their larger foe. They had fought foes longer than them their entire life. All they needed to do was be faster than the slo…. And as then the Lioness advanced with a speed the warrior had never seen. They barely dodged a pommel strike to the face before being hit in the chest with an elbow. Recoiling, the warrior steadied themselves once more. No more assumptions. No more preconceptions. Stick to the basics. This was a battle to the death as far as they knew. And they were fighting against death. The warrior advanced again on high alert for the first strike. Sensing none, they feinted a left jab with their sword, before slashing down towards the Lioness’s leg. Unfortunately for them, they were too slow, and the Lioness parried the blow, before slashing the warrior across the chest. The warrior staggered back once more, battered and bruised, their chest wound dripping with blood. But they would not be deterred.
The warrior realized they held no advantage. But they knew they must not give up, just like they had against the monsters of the forests those many days ago. So, the warrior once again advanced, sword in hand. They decided to go straight for the attack. The warrior swung left, and up across the chest, coming down and crossing the chest, before stabbing at the heart and pulling up towards the head. Her combo seemed to almost work, as the first slash carved into the armor of the Lioness, the second strike deftly dodging the parry by the Lioness and striking her once more across the chest. But as the warrior prepared to jab, the Lioness grabbed their wrist, forcing them to drop the sword from their hand. With her blade against the warrior’s throat, the Lioness stared motionless at the expressionless helmet covered face of the warrior. “You have fought well.” The Lioness lowered their blade from the warrior’s throat, sheathing it at their side.
The warrior knelt down to retrieve their sword, and return their work to their person. But the Lioness had other plans. She picked up the sword herself, inspecting it as the warrior watched silently. Finishing her inspection, she returned the sword to the warrior. “If you are to join my retinue, you must learn to take care of your sword. Come.” She said, exiting the chamber silently, the warrior following with due haste behind the Lioness. They wished not to disappoint them, after the shellacking they had just taken in the fight. As they walked, the warrior placed a bandage upon the wound on their chest, along with a medicinal oil that their parents had made for them in case they ever got injured training. The warrior imagined that their parents never would have expected they would need it to recover from a fight from such a powerful warrior. Hopefully they would be proud of them for holding their own somewhat. Hopefully they would be proud. Hopefully.

My husband and I have been living on the road for a little over a year. We did the first year in a tent and have been in an travel trailer for the last 4 months. We go from campground to campground and usually stay at a place for a week or two. We stay in a variety of places; state parks, national parks, KOA, and Thousand Trails. We seem to constantly have issues with people walking through our campsite. We make it a rule to not walk in other campsites even if they are vacant because we find it to be disrespectful to stomp through areas that we, quite frankly, aren't paying for. I find it to be very rude and annoying when people walk through our site. I have said something to a few people and they just say, "oh, sorry", to which I want to respond, obviously you aren't. I'm just curious if this happens to others and what other's opinions are on this.

Ezili: when using the infarct ability, apart from removing the regenerative capacity of all the bloons that appear in the 10 seconds of duration, it also defortifies all the bloons and if it is at level 20 this includes the bads
Pat: haranguing roar deals more than 2 damage to all the towers on the map and when you push the bloons it deals damage to all the bloons behind

It has been like this for over a 10 days, I have left it a week before attempting again and still have problems. Will I get access again, I don't know why this is happening and am very concerned and actually confused. And yes I know there are more serious issues in the world when I put down the computer, I am worried about access to photos and my work. Verfication I have left sign in attempts from 2 hours to 7 days and I am still getting these banners. 'Unknown error' I have heard that people have been barred or their accounts disabled, this isn't the case with this, so cannot login by recovering my account either. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. So what caused this run up for headphone company?

Apologies I didn’t get images before I replaced all four tires. I have a ‘00 Toyota camry with 130,000ish miles , V6, automatic , and it’s been trusty the several years I’ve had it. I plan to drive it until it’s dead (or more likely rusts out :( )
Recently I’ve gotten some suspension work done. I’m curious what else needs to be done as my old tires wore unevenly and I want to make sure all my bases are covered going forward with repairs. I don’t know how long my tires were in bad shape, so it’s possible I could have already fixed what was causing them to unevenly wear.
Almost a year ago I got both front sway bar links replaced. A month ago I got new front tire rods, and then 4 new tires (front two tires were bald on the inside , back tires were getting low on tread and cupped, I was told one had a broken belt as well . I’ll also admit I forgot to rotate my tires for a while so I’m sure that contributed to the wear). The tire tech said I should get new tires, then suspension work so I can ultimately get a proper alignment (or balance? Which one is needed? I understand the difference a bit but unsure of which is needed in this case ).
I’ve been so busy I haven’t been able to get back to the mechanic (cringe a bit every time I drive , worrying I’m wearing my tires poorly again).but I plan to go next week, and possibly get two front struts ( a couple different mechanics had differing opinions if new struts were needed) and maybe a ball bearing or bushing somewhere? And have the mechanic check my overall suspension again.
What else might cause tires to wear in the way they did? Am I doing things in the correct order? I’m trying to learn what I can about cars as to not get played and also just have knowledge. Any advice is really appreciated!

We just had a huge argument because she doesn’t understand why I wouldn’t want to split this inheritance 50:50 with her; I am of the opinion that my mother worked so hard for this money, and in case of a divorce or break up this property should stay in my possession. In her opinion (which I understand too) everything should be split evenly, after all our children should have equal access to the property etc etc. I’m curious to hear opinions/experiences!

So I applied to a North East state school February 2023. I received an email in May letting me know that Fall 2023 was full and if I’d like to be considered for Fall 2024. I was bummed but I said sure please consider my application for the following year.
I did reach out to this person in March 2024 to follow up since I started hearing from other schools. Fast forward to today May 2024…and well I received an email from the same person saying Fall 2024 class is full and they are not reviewing any additional applications.
So I’m just wondering if it’s rolling admissions don’t you have to review them in the order they are received? And if it’s not rolling admissions…don’t you have to review all applications before making a decision?
I’m honestly just frustrated by the process and this school is notorious for having broken systems, delays and a lack of transparency and it has impacted so many students. Myself being one of them.
TLDR: applied to a school in 2023 they told me the fall class is full and they’ll consider my application in 2024. Heard back from them that Fall 2024 is full and they didn’t read my application. Is that legal?

But for example cultkits.com from the UK are a pretty big shop. They have super cool “bootleg” t-shirts with players on them, I’ve ordered from them several times, cool stuff. And of course they are far from the only site with items like this.
Do these sites really get permission from all these players?
I have a Martinez (Man United) “cult hero” shirt from cultkits. There is a picture of him on the shirt, where I noticed they removed one of the 3 Adidas stripes. Is this some sort of loophole? On their other shirts they remove club logos and kit manufacturers too, but still have the player name on.
Also if I wanted to start a shop, could I get away with making drawings/art styles of players and not directly use pictures?

Many MBA applicants feel very panicked about having bad grades. Some consider a 3.3 GPA in the danger zone; others are dancing on the 3.0 threshold and then there is the more extreme case of a 2.0.
The Misperception that GPA + GMAT + Work Experience = Everything
If you have a 3.0, the ticket is for you to arm yourself with a strong GMAT or GRE. That is necessary – but not sufficient.
There is often the perception that this is an "add water and stir" straightforward process where these numbers just need to line up a certain way. NOPE. This is a very nuanced process. A candidate's quality cannot be ascertained this way. The schools are selling other candidates to each other; they are selling the experience you will have interacting with other students, in large part.
So, it would be very risky and short-sighted to reduce things down to a simple formula like this. If these numbers are poor, they might keep you out of a top MBA program, however if they are strong, there is no guarantee of admission.
This is a qualitative process with some quantitative indicators that screen for aptitude, and help even the playing field between candidates of a similar profile.

If you bring diversity to the class, they might forgive the test score to capitalize on that, but only if you have a very strong quant case. You can demonstrate this through a combination of the following:

I'm applying to junioassociate/level 1 SWE roles so its not like i'm competing with people with 10 YEO. are ex-faang, ex-jane street people really applying to these kinds of places? because who else could those "other candidates" be?

 | I’ve been noticed my betta (Chaka) less active and curious, hiding more often and staying near the bottom of the tank. This made me immediately concerned. Today he is only worse, his fins are drooping, he seems to have light spots on them, and he spends most of his time at the bottom of the tank unless disturbed or fed. He is still eating just fine, and as you can see he is not bloated. The edges of his fins do appear darker and a little tattered but he’s been growing out a darker bluish color in his fins for a while now. He’s in a 5 gallon with an automatic heater. The only change recently is an outbreak of brown algae in the tank, which I’ve been trying to keep on top of. (I took these pictures mid water change when I noticed how poor he was looking today, so they’re a little murky looking.) I looked up fin rot and dropsy because I have heard of those before but I’m not sure what the issue is, and I know how knowledgeable people are on here. What’s wrong? How do I fix it? |

A couple of years ago while in between jobs I wanted to spend the time looking for a job by accepting any job that came my way for a short while, until I found what I was looking for.
I applied for and was accepted by a small company (number of employees 14) as an office manager. Basically I had to look after all the staff and manage day to day office duties plus make longer term plans. I was shocked when I was told that I would be on minimum wage, but I said nothing because I knew I'd leave after a few weeks.
The owner was a Pakistani and he made use of a government scheme where the government would pay the salary or part of it if he employed persons with disabilities. So two of the three other workers in my office had disabilities. On the first day I asked the older of the office workers to explain some things to me. He had some form of disability. I do not know what it was but the guy was morbidly obese and he stank. He was on minimum wage which was being paid by the government, so the owner was getting his services for free. He managed one aspect of the work and I was curious about what happened when he was not at work because the sort of work involved necessitated communication with many countries on different time zones. He told me that when he was home he used his own mobile instead of the office computers to keep things going. He also told me that he was in the office much more than 40 hours per week. I asked him if he was paid overtime but he was not. So this poor sod could not find work anywhere else and found a parasitic man to milk him to death.
The owner was very vague when it came to giving me a brief to work to so I often just took my own initiative. For example I started marketing the services of the company to other businesses. Once I had arranged a meeting with the owner of another business and I met him in the morning in his office. When I arrived late at work, the owner shouted at me for being late. I am not a boy and I do not take being shouted at kindly.
Most of the workers used company cars and the owner discussed with me the problem of what would happen if any of them would get tickets since the cars were registered in his name. I told him that I knew which worker was using which car at any time so if a ticket came our way we would handle it on a case by case basis. But he did not agree. He made me prepare a short legal document to be signed by all drivers that made them culpable for any traffic tickets and that they had to pay out of their own pocket without any questions asked.
I prepared the documents, asked drivers to give me their driving licenses, which I photocopied (probably breaking data protection laws) and attached to a very unfair document which they had to sign. The workers who asked me what the document really meant before they signed it got the truth from me - "If I were you I would not sign it".
Once while I was bored in the office I got talking to another worker and jokingly I told him, If he fires me, I'll first delete all material I prepared for him from the computers. Apparently the obese disabled worker who was being abused by the owner went and blabbed to the owner and the next day I was fired.
What was funny was that the moment I walked into the office the owner unplugged my computer. Apparently the obese guy had told the owner that I really had intended to sabotage the company and the owner believed him.
Sometimes I pity people like that obese guy who are abused and are forced to act as brown nosers and spies on other employees so that they can keep their job.
These are the stories about employment that are never told.
