5 Years' scores detailed review

BITSAT has always seen large number of candidates giving their exams. I used 3 different regression methods for finding the projected number of candidates scoring 88% and above in BITSAT.
Here's the catch, BITSAT was of 450 marks before 2021, but I noticed a linear relation whatsoever for which some blogs claim was due to the ease of solving paper which was higher as of then.[1]
Projected number of candidates scoring >= 316 marks
Don't worry about how I plotted the graph, for the ease of viewing I used a calculative exaggeration method, while all the calculations being done on the raw data only.
Here, all the regressions have too much difference between them which throws off the ease of just averaging the three. Instead I used what is called the R-squared value to find an accurate follow-up projection for the number of candidates.
The R-squared value for the three are as follows:

Cutoff Prediction

Now, the best part, cutoff prediction. Here, you need to know one more thing that all the campuses have a record of increasing the number of seats for their programs every year which has somehow worked a little to adjust to the 'population inflation' and has kept the numbers steady.
AAAAAANNNND, here comes the second issue, while looking at the seat matrices for BITS, the seats in all branches has remained the same since 2017 (increase in seats for CSE). (2018 for Goa campus).
ALTHOUGH, due to the addition of the new Mathematics and Computing course can have significant impact on the No. of seats v/s Cutoff debate
Seeing with the lowest marks required for joining B.Pharm at three campuses of BITS:
Cutoff v/s Candidates remained consistent till 2020

NOTE: some of you jhaatus will be paranoid about how the cutoff decreased with much higher candidates. It's due to increase in the number of seats due to the new MnC branch
NOTE 2: I am speculating about the predicted number of candidates, since, the popularity has seemingly exponentially increased due to youtuber bhaiyya didis.
Notice that I used a simple polynomial regression here due to having much simpler values for predicting the consecutive iterations.

Why I couldn't correctly predict for CSE

See, the choices of students during counselling is really complicated and after reviewing some previous year details and cutoff scores, I couldn't have a perfect idea about how the relationship is maintained. That's why I will need someone else with more free time to help me polish my code for predictions.
Anyways, here's the predicted cutoff for some branches using exponential regression:

With inflation and the enduring lust for money, the hostel charges are continuously being increased since a few years, here's the detailed breakdown for what I have observed.

Should you join it?

as a disclaimer, I am in no position to judge as I have lost hopes getting into BITS this year, since I have wasted a lot of money and seeing our house put of collateral for securing my admission into VIT I am in no way entitled to ask more money for second attempt from parents, but I can give you suggestions from what I've researched when I used to daydream about getting into BITS.
Overall Culture: when it comes to projects and teams, the students get highly competent, and aftre finding a good partner, you could go for numerous competitions like the Mars Rover Challenge (personal favourite), which needs skills from almost all branches inclusive of chemical and materials department. Which in turn also leads to better communicative skills and a top tier social life.
Imagine your parents get to see you with bunch of smart ass people just discussing about different stuff ranging from algorithms to spatial modelling of biological molecules, they will feel on top of the world.
Student life: I will not talk about the zero attendance policy nor about the strictness inside campus. Here, you NEED to have a control over yourself, drug peddling is quite common although no one talks about it, even at VIT Vellore, kids find a way to get that mind numbing puff. You will have an urge to just try it for once to find what is it for real, but DON'T. I guess I don't need to elaborate more.
Second, remember:

Look at all the chics, maybe even flirt with them under limits, but don't indulge in bad stuff since you already know how horny you really are.

Toughness @ BITS

doesn't need much of a warning, it's tough. Although, the first year will go on a cakewalk, same stuff for everyone to learn, you might have problems with the engineering physics and drawing classes** so be prepared. Maintaining 9+ GPA is really hard, you have work your arse off more than what you are doing right now.
Getting scholarships is on the tougher side too, you can manage to get 10% off by little work, but getting those sweet 80% waivers can be tough, you have to ace your quizzes and assignments.
By the 3rd year, you will start getting tensed about internships, their interviews, your GPA and finally your courses. You have to be ready and try to complete all the side courses (if any) by the end of the third year so you can focus more on placements the next year (only for low pointers).
That's all of what I've learnt and understood from the students, there are easier aspects too but only if you are actually smart and can do more work in much less of a timeframe.

What course should I take?

You need to introspect yourself before asking this question, many people say to follow your interest but it's not always practical.
You see, I have a friend who wants to become a physicist, and yet he isn't able to solve measly problems in physics which might need more brainpower, and even shitting himself on questions of nuclear physics when he wants to do research in that specific field. Not only about questions, he doesn't even properly know about how the Hadron Collider works, just spurts out some random Fission and Fusion chickenshit when asked about.
OK, you should totally give your interests a higher ground during the counselling but ask yourself if you are actually ready for what you have to learn for the next four years, probably even your whole life. Since, it's BITS you'll be able to adapt yourself, but always take caution before every choice you're going to fill in during choice filling. Don't embarrass yourself afterwards.

My rants, remarks and opinions

Honestly, this was a ride and an escape for me to relieve a little bit of stress about how I was fcked this year. Denied EWS certificate, filed for an appeal, and no progress. Gave JEE as an OPEN candidate. Somehow got 10k rank in VITEEE, got cat 3 CSE, dad told me to leave no opportunities, now have to pay 4 lakhs tuition fee per annum, dad's income is 4 lakhs per annum. Took an educational loan from Indian Bank (13% interest + our house on collateral).
Called VIT, told me they will give a full refund if withdrawn before 11th September, but have to pay a cut of interest for the loan taken (did not specify how much). I am pretty sure they will be asking easily at 2-3 lakhs, unprepared for BITS after Nanu's death on 22nd April, (my VITEEE was on 24th), went with my mom to Kerala and back the next day and then again back to Kerala with dad and my 24 year old brother who has cerebral palsy. spent about 50k on the flight tickets alone. Wouldn't get BITS in the first attempt, afraid to register for 2nd.
Can't even commit suicide thinking about my brother, entitled school topper yesterday after results, teachers saying that I am not getting of what I am capable upto, really disappointed about me joining VIT instead of IITs (for god's sake).
Cousin sister told me to join her in Germany, (I've learnt german from her) but the living costs so high and the amount of stress my parents would have to take for this year has concerned me enough already. No one asks for this but please dm me, tell me your stories, it's nice to have someone around to talk shit.

I'm going insane. I'm trying to make this work since 4 hours already, and the more "fixes" from the internet I use the more errors I get. I tried everything to make my Automatic1111 run, dispite it working fine today's morning, without making any changes to the program, it suddenly stopped working. I get all sorts of errors, mostly connected with Torch or pip.

I've tried reinstalling everything, both Git and python, I've manually copied torch files into \venv\Scripts, tried to install several new automatic1111 in different locations or disks, download new pips, change startup command ARGs into things people recommended. Nothing works.
What's even more frustrating, is that on webui-user.bat startup, you do not even get errors in a consistent manner - sometimes without doing any changes they display one thing, sometimes they display something totally different. After finishing this post, I've clicked it once more and I get a different message:

Worst customer service! How do I get refund for services paid for but not provided.
Short version; had Xfinity internet for several years. In Feb added basic cable and upgraded speed of internet by bundling. Wifi was disabled after a month and never received tv box. I didn't realize I needed one, I thought Streaming thru app was used bc just basic local channel package.
1 month of internet and zero months of TV. Plus added charges because Xfintiy disabled my Modem and I didn't return it. $350. I received $60 credit from one agent and $15 for modem charge from another.
I would've dropped Xfinity 2 months ago, but I also have 4 phone lines with them and I don't want to shop phone carriers now. We have Att fiber that was ran last year in neighborhood. That was why I called in Feb to switch up, bc ATT fiber faster and cheaper than I was paying.
Was offered 2 years no charge for modem, bc I was trying to keep total under what I had been paying for Xfinity and another random streaming service, which was YoutubeTV.
Picked up modem at xfinity store and plugged in activated. One month later I got charged for not returning equipment and internet was disabled on Mar 11.
Fast forward to 3 weeks ago, when the problem of disabled internet was finally figured out after numerous calls, resetting, unplugging and rebooting. One call lasted an entire hockey game with overtime bc i was tired of trying to use tv and finding it just cycling. Also error messages that said I wasn't on my home network. I don't watch much local TV but it's nice to have occasionally. So every time I tried streaming I got error messages. Called several times over 3 months. Every time I tried to turn something on I spent the night talking to Xfintiy agent instead. I am conservatively estimating 12 plus hours of wasted time on this.
Apparently since Mar 8 I was using my neighbors internet Hotspot. I hadn't realized we weren't connecting to our home wifi, but because I was Xfinity customer I was tapping into neighbors wi-fi.
Modem finally reactivated. 2 weeks ago and 4 separate agents tell me a refund will be processed. Originally all I received was refund for not returning modem. (Also bc it now looked like I added a new modem, and plan I signed up under wasn't available, I was now going to be charged for modem. ) Last week agent offered $60 bill credit.
How do I get refunded for services they did not provide that I was paying for?

I bought my Model 16 in December of '22 and I've had this issue where it'll completely randomly start making these digital glitching noises. This happens during normal usage (e.g. browsing YT) and during recording. When it happens during recording, there are small pops in whatever I was recording.
I am using the Model 16 in USB multichannel mode.
I've looked around for other people having this problem and have found nothing.
I've factory reset the mixer and tried using various USB cables and ports.
I have not had this issue with any other audio interface (Focusrite 2i2 and Behringer UMC 404)
Here are my laptop's specs. They should be good enough to handle the Model 16.
Processor 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700H 2.30 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB (31.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Also the reverb is panned to the right for some reason.

Hi - I cancelled all of my Comcast services via support on this page several days ago. I got some confusing advice about my last bill. They told me autopay would not work and would be turned off. My updated last bill is available online, but it says autopay is on and it also won't let me access the page to turn it off. The payment date is today, but so far no charge has gone through; I'm not sure what I am supposed to do about this. I don't want to make a payment myself and then also have autopay go through. The web site also shows past due (I've been on autopay all this time, the new bill just came through, it is not possible that it is actually past due), but then shows an autopay date of today.
I also just got a text saying that it looks like I have to return some equipment. I have no equipment and haven't for over a year. I went to the web page it sent me to, and it shows two returned modems. It doesn't show the returned cable box, which I returned even longer ago, and it also doesn't show me having any current equipment, nor have I been charged for any equipment, so I don't know why I would have received a text saying I do. Please help! Thanks.

I have close to 7 years of experience but honestly saying I have never got an opportunity to work on specific field. In my entire career, I am into support and some mundane work. So basically I have a fair knowledge about HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and Figma. In my company, all I was doing is adding some HTML, CSS code. I am confused because I don’t have any first hand experience in coding or design. I have done some small personal projects using JavaScript api but have no knowledge about any framework or library. In Figma, I have designed few mobile app by seeing tutorials. The problem is I like both but it’s very difficult for to take a decision. 15kg Down - 9 Weeks In - Update
Hi All,
Just felt like posting an update on this milestone for me. This is probably the first time in 12-14 years that I have weighed this little.
Highest weight 135kg in COVID, Starting Weight (March) - 125kg , Current Weight (May) - 110kg, GW - 85kg
First two doses were from Superdrug (£210 approx), they asked for photo of body and photo standing on scales. Next dose was on Medexpress (£135 approx), I was worried about it being sent rather than pick up in person but it was delviered on time and still cool in its little thermo box.
First month was 2.5mg and then went up to 5mg, I have stayed on 5mg and the next will likely be 5mg too while progress stays the same with minimal side effects. I have concerns about supply availability, particuarly of the higher doses, just take a look at the US sub to see the problems they have. So I dont want to go up unless I need to.
Diet has been targeting 1500 / 1600 calories a day, making sure I include veg and protein. I had to start eating quite bland food anyway before this due to stomach complications, which I were told were likely caused by being obese putting pressure on my stomach so that was the real kick to get started. I had to stop fried food, caffiene and alchol anyway so I cant comment on how the drug makes you respond to those. The first warnings I got were eating things like a small, medium strength, indian curry. Body did not like that at all but was better with tandoori chicken, no sauce.
I have been making vegtable boxes for my lunch with low fat hommus dip and using some protein shakes now and then when I dont have time to make dinner, honestly I think the protein shakes (myprotein - so not meal replacement) have shown the best results when used.
Bad side effects have been largely minimal, particularly after 3 weeks on the 5mg, but I have been diligent in my diet at least. Extra important to stay hydrated too - I drink a 700ml water with electrolyte dissovable every day without fail. I do get some drowsiness on injection day still.
Good side effects, aside from appteite and food noise drastically reducing, is that I have way more energy now. Im not sure if its blood sugar or blood pressure now but it feels great, walking the dog just feels easier now. I also think it has reduced anxiety somehow, but im no doctor to tell you how.
My advice to people getting started:
  • Injections can be scary, this one was my first ever, but the leaflet tells you all you need to know and dont be afraid to vary injection spots (I would reccomend either stomach/thigh first). It gets easier, honest.
  • Over hydrate than what you expect/want to, add in electrolytes if you can - I got some dissolvables similar to berocca from amazon.
  • Plan your meals beforehand as if it works for you straight away you wont know when to eat, but if you dont eat anything you will still get serious nausea and fatigue as your body still needs food. This is a marathon not a sprint.
  • Shop around for prices / voucher codes.
  • Avoid compounding/dodgy sites (seriously you are injecting things into your body here)
